《The Hermit》 Chapter 1 - New world - - ¡°Finally he''s waking up!¡± Those were the first words I heard when I woke up. It was really confusing because I couldn¡¯t even remember going to sleep. As I lifted myself up from hard stone floor I appearently slept on, what met my eyes were a mindblowing beauty I could have sworn only existed in my dreams. Her eyes were a peculiar lightpink color which might sound a little superficial, but the dept I felt in them had me drawn into them and I simply couldn¡¯t help myself. ¡°Do you have a map? Cuz I swear I¡¯m lost in your eyes!¡± Goddammit why couldn¡¯t I have said something smart instead of some cheesy pick-up line. (¥Î?Òæ?)¥Îáê©ß©¥©ß Even after all that, with my face feeling hot and red like a baked tomato, I couldn¡¯t get myself to turn away from this beauty. Her face had a perfect slim form and a grace over it. Her skin was smooth like jade and the way she carried herself had a unknown feeling to it. She started to chuckle a litte. Soon she laughed out load still holding herself gracefully like an elegant swan. I felt like a toad, from the chinese proverb. She was way beyond my league. ¡°I think you might have hit you¡¯re head a little too hard Yu Jian¡± Yu Jian? Is this some kind of joke? That¡¯s not my name, my name is¡ What¡¯s my name? Why can¡¯t I remember? This is so confusing. ¡°Yu Jian? Is that me? And who are you?¡± I asked. I¡¯ve read a lot of fictions through my life and if there¡¯s something I hate, there is when someone pretends to be someone else, though I don¡¯t even know if thats my case here. Nothing seemed familiar around here. ¡°Stop joking Yu Jian, that¡¯s not even funny!¡± Even though I was serious, she didn¡¯t seem to take me seriously. I looked at myself and even though I felt normal and nothing unusual, I couldn¡¯t recognize my own hands or even clothes for that matter. The hands from my memories were bigger and I had a distinct scar on my palm from an accident when I fell off a bike when I was 10. The girl in front of me started to take me a bit more seriously as she noticed my confusion. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, but I seriously don¡¯t know what¡¯s going on here. I don¡¯t recognize you or even myself.¡± I took a polite bow as I apologized. I learned from my father that one should always apologize if there might be even a small possibility that something was your fault, especially if it was to a woman. Apologies are free and cost nothing to give so I made it one of my golden rules to always apologize first. As I looked up after my bow I could see from the change of her attitude that she now took me seriously. Finally we are getting somewhere, but seriously where am I? What is this place? I hadn¡¯t really taken a good look around me before now, but I could see this was not what I was used to. We were in a big hall with statues of unknown people with different stances on every corner with all different weapons. They looked to real to have been carved. Inside this hall were a magnitude of tools for training and workout. There were also a mysterious light in the hall, however, I couldn¡¯t find any lightsources! This was a really mysterious place. ¡°...¡± It was at this moment I saw that the woman in front of me seemed frozen still. I probably caused her a small shock or something. I¡¯m kind of shocked too... ¡°For Yu Jian to apologize like that...¡± She seemed to mumble something to herself, but I didn¡¯t catch what she said. ¡°I have to get a doctor to have a look on you, follow me. You can call me Sister Ling¡± Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. She turned around and started walking towards the gate to the left. I followed her. As we continued walking, I took a look around me and absorbed the new environment. The halls and corridors, everything was so well-made. The type of stone used should be something like a mixture of marble and green jade. The design is excellent and must have cost a fortune to build. I would really like to meet the arcitect of this amazing work! Walking for another 5 or 10 minutes we soon found ourselves outside a wooden door. Thats when Sister Ling started to knock. ¡°Doctor Xiaoqing! It¡¯s me, Yu Ling! I need your help with Yu Jian!¡± ¡°I¡¯m right there! Give me a second! Did he pass out training again? I swear he¡¯s going to seriously hurt himself someday!¡± A short moment later the door was opened and behind it was another woman. She was a bit taller and also seemed a bit older than Sister Ling. This woman had also a graceful apperance. Her eyes were deep-green. I guess weird eye colors were usual here. ¡°Xiaoqing, Yu Jian seems to have lost his memories, and it¡¯s scaring me!¡± said Sister Ling looking back at me probably hoping I would say something like ¡°APRILS FOOLS!¡± or something¡ Do they even have that tradition here? I wonder¡ Doctor Xiaoqing smile turned into a serious look as she turned around and waved as a signal for us to follow inside. She turned over to her shelves with lots of plants and what I would call ¡°ingredients¡±. However, I would not put that stuff into my cooking. Most of it did not look desirable, AT ALL. A short moment later, she came back with a mixture of something. ¡°Yu Jian, please drink this. It¡¯s supposed to clear up your mind. I¡¯m sorry, but there¡¯s not much that can be done with memory loss.¡± I took the mixture and quickly drank the whole thing. Thank God it only smelled worse than it tasted. Soon I felt like my vision was zooming a little. Everything just felt more ¡°in focus¡±. As expected. I guess I have to start fresh over here, but no matter how I look upon it it¡¯s like I¡¯ve jumped out of my own world and into this one. Is this like one of those mangas I¡¯ve been reading? A lot of questions came to me as to how this world worked and so on and as an answer to one of my biggest questions Sister Ling suddenly said. ¡°Maybe his memories will come back after he has cultivated further? They say that the Xiantian Realm clears your mind and you¡¯ll start remembering even things from you were very young as if it was yesterday¡± YEESS!! Fantasy world here I come! I felt my blood ozing. If this is a world like those fictions tell about I will cultivate myself like in those stories! ¡°Not a bad idea Yu Ling, I guess even though Yu Jian is only an outer sect disciple I will talk to the elders about giving him a cultivation method a bit earlier than usual as we are talking about his health here.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry for bothering you, thank you so much for your help!¡± I said as I made a 90 degree bow. Never bad to get on a doctors good side. ¡°Haha, I almost like this Yu Jian better. No need to bow so much, it¡¯s my duty as one of the sects doctors¡± ¡°Okay, thank you¡± I said, starting to bow down again, but stopping myself at 45 degrees embarrassed of my actions. I guess it has become a habit. A short moment later I felt dizzy and started to wiggle. Just as the world started spinning I saw Sister Ling catching me as I fell passing out. Chapter 2 - Getting started - - What felt like a short moment for me must have been quite a while, because when I woke up again I was in a bed inside a small room. The ceiling was the same kind of stone as earlier. Guess it wasn¡¯t a dream, eh? I quickly got up and looked at the table next to the bed. There was a jade stone and book with a note on top. I read the note: Good morning, Yu Jian! I hope you¡¯re feeling better! The book you just found has the cultivation technique you need for your ¡°treatment¡±. Believe it or not, even though you¡¯ve lost your memory you are quite lucky to get this opportunity. I recommend starting as soon as possible. Last night you passed out so quickly we couldn¡¯t tell you anything about you or this place so here¡¯s a starter: Your name is Yu Jian, both your parents are deceased¡ Sorry about that. You are 10 years old, and usually only when at the age of 13, does outer sect members in the Yu Sect get a chance to start cultivating Chi and start on their path to immortality. Any further questions about this world and cultivation is answered in the book on the table. The cultivation technique is in the memory stone. Good luck. - Doctor Yu Xiaoqing I took a look at the book, it didn¡¯t have any title and as I picked it up and opened it I could see it was old, very old. They had taken good care of it and it was of good quality. It seemed to repel the dust in the air. Interesting. The book explained of this worlds history. I should have been super clever absorbing all the information from the book like to people from the fantasy fictions, but honestly I got too bored and only read what I saw interesting. There was no appearent name for this world. I didn¡¯t even know if it was a planet I¡¯m on or just a flat endless plane, though I could see there was a sun in the sky shining from outside the window moving very very slowly in a set direction. There were no countries, kings or something like that. It was only split up in different sects and territories. There was a lot of wilderness too as the different sects wouldn¡¯t bother to clear up the space they wouldn¡¯t or couldn¡¯t use. There were a lot of ferocious beast and dangerous desolate beasts in those areas, so clearing them was easier said than done. As for the cultivation system, it had a similar system to what I read in some random fiction or it might be a combination of multiple, seriously who knows? There was the Disciple Realm for starters. As soon as one managed to collect even a little Chi, one could be called a disciple. The first stage was filling the body with Chi. Through the next nine stages one would compress it, leaving more space to fill with chi and finally form a Chi Star. After the Disciple Realm came the Deposition Realm. The Deposition Realm was after one had cultivated through all the nine different stages of the Disciple Realm and had managed to form a Chi Star. The Chi Star was a container for the Chi and seemed to have the same function as the famous dantian in the fictions I¡¯ve read. The name came from the shape of it as it was surprisingly ¡°star-shaped¡±. Through the Deposition Realm one would compress the Chi ¡°gas¡± so it would turn solid therefore ¡°deposition¡± as the phase transition. When the Chi Star was completely solid one would go into the next Realm called the Profound Realm. That¡¯s when one would prepare the body for the famous Xiantian Realm. In the Xiantian Realm the Chi Star would have turned completely into liquid through the Profound Realm as this is the most compressed form of Chi. The liquid Chi would then spread out through the body, reinforce it and make it immortal. Above this Realm one would repeat the whole prosess again with a new element called Yuan Power. Noone could absorb Yuan Power without liquid Chi flowing through your body. The person would form a Yuan Star and start on the path to become an immortal overlord. No one knew if there way a higher form of cultivation after becoming an immortal overlord. I guess I¡¯ll have to find out. I took a look at the memory stone on the table. How does it even work? Guess I¡¯ll have to figure that out too. If I¡¯m not completely wrong I should get the information by putting the stone up to my forehead. I reached out for the stone and lifted it up to my forehead. Just as it touched my forehead I prepared for a flood of information coming¡ Which it didn¡¯t. What did I do wrong? I took a look at the stone again as if it was a puzzle. Then as a gust of wind blew in from the window, the note flipped over and there were more text on it. Ahh¡ *facepalm* of course¡. I read the first line, which surprisingly was in a different handwriting: Ps: To use the memory stone, hold it and say: Wha tafoo laiam! Again I held the stone and said as the note said: ¡°Wha tafoo laiam!¡± This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it As nothing happened I tried several times, each time a said it out louder and louder: ¡°Wha tafoo laiam!, Wha tafoo laiam! What a fool I am! WHAT A FOOL I AM!!¡± The last time I yelled it I finally realized I had been fooled, real good too! Please say nobody heard me! Dear good God, If you grant me this one wish, my firstborn son will become a monk! As an answer to my prayer I could hear some chuckles close by, I had been¡ denied. Well atleast my firstborn son is saved¡ -_-* ¡°You got tricked Yu Jian, haha! I will remember this for as long as I live! haha Oh! My stomach haHAHA!¡± ¡°...¡± ¡°Hahahaaa¡¡± *Awkward silence, cricket sound playing¡± ¡°Aanyways¡ the memory stone is quite special so I would have to help you use it. You¡¯ll need to insert a small amount of Chi to read it, and because you don¡¯t have any yet I would have to assist you.¡± Seeing me being so serious must have had an impact because Sister Ling did not dare to waste any more of my time. A few minutes later I had managed to read the memory stone and had got a grasp of how to start my cultivation. Sister Ling had then quickly excused herself, leaving me all alone. Lets see if I have a talent for this. I though as I followed the steps from the memory stone. The first step of gathering Chi was to ¡°feel the world around you¡±. I think feelings are too personal to be properly explained, but atleast it told me to focus on my breath. From what I understood, the Chi was all around. It was like a gas floating around us similar to air. The first step got to be breathing it in and not letting it go. Making it float through the bloodstream like oxygen. It might be that all humans breath chi all the time, it¡¯s just transported out again with the carbondioxide. It might even be because the body doesn¡¯t seem to think it has any use of it? They say placebo has one of the strongest effects on the body. You can compare it with a lot of medicine so I guess I got to believe? I took a deep breath, clearing my mind and focused on the chi. I have use for this Chi. My body needs the Chi. I said to myself. The first step to be a cultivater are said to be quite tough. Some would need multiple years to get a grasp of it. And for me¡ it took about¡ 10 minutes? What? I felt like I was floating and everything around me was so, I guess the best word would be, refreshing? It was like I had been living in a big city all my life, breathing in all the toxic air, then suddenly I was on top of a mountain with clean fresh air for the first time! Amazing! I could be addicted to this! Minutes flew by like hours, and I only stopped cultivating to eat. Cultivating felt so refreshing I didn¡¯t even want to sleep. The Chi was floating around in my body and it wasn¡¯t long before it felt like every part and every cell inside my body had some Chi in it. I guess it¡¯s time to start compressing it then. Little did I know how abnormal my cultivation was. Usually, the time spent in the first stage would be about half the time spent in total, cultivating through the Disciple Realm! I started to get an image in my head. It was my old self when I was 6 years old. I had just started to learn how to swim, taking deep breaths hyperventilating before diving. Maybe I can use this! I though. It made sense to take deep breaths then keep it in and let the blood transport all the oxygen where it was needed. If I could do the same to Chi as I compressed it, I might save a lot of time? Still lost in cultivation, I spent months doing nothing, but cultivating and eating. Sister Ling had left after a week since I got here, saying she had to attend some kind of cultivation school. No one expected anything from me yet, as I had ¡°been sick¡± as in lost my memory, and usually couldn¡¯t cultivate before I turned 13. AN: If you''ve read it so far, thank you! Please comment what you think. I''ll be posting another chapter soon and then maybe wait to see if people think i should continue writing the story or not. and most importantly: my favorite color is green Chapter 3 - So fast? - - Before I knew it, half a year had gone by. No one missed me as I had been all by myself for so long. I had already cultivated my self into the ninth stage of the Deposition Realm, turning almost every speck of compressed Chi gas into a solid Chi Star. It felt quite natural to me as I had a basic understanding of how gasses worked and the phase transitions of water. Comparing Chi to something similar helped more then I expected. What I didn¡¯t know was that cultivating too fast usually resulted in quite an unstable cultivation base, however, rather than becoming unstable, mine actually couldn¡¯t have been more stable! My insight could be compared to someone who had cultivated those stages before, just to try it again. Doing it over again would have been too easy for most. Like going back to elementary school after graduating from high school. A joke! I had compared my old memories and confirmed the similarities with the memory stone. Even though the old memories of my past life had the biggest impact on my cultivation, when compared to the memory stone, my old memories was like a treasure chest and the memory stone had been the key! I had read in the book from time to time lately and it explained how cultivating would give me strength and powers through martial arts. In my old life, sadly, I had not even touched a martial art. My talent in fighting was close to zero. Even though I could see that my cultivation had progressed very quickly, I felt very normal like I hadn¡¯t cultivated at all (apart from the refreshed feeling) The stories always says how the MC(Main Character) goes outside, getting lucky finding some kind of treasure or technique. Or maybe they got taken in as a disciple of some secret grandmaster. Some learn all of that fancy medicine stuff from some doctor and some are just natural fighting talent. However, all those MCs always get into some kind of crap and there are always someone trying to kill them or breaking their cultivation. Me? I have none of that crap. nobody that tries to kill me, and noone even seems to remember who I am in the cafeteria. I always disliked all that struggle in the stories. Why can¡¯t they just stay in one place, cultivating until there is about 0% chance of dying/struggling with a small chance of 0.2mm rain in the afternoon? Having the cultivation going so well, without looking for some kind of cultivation treasure, Yu Jian decided to stay doing nothing else than cultivating. Being mentally older than he looked made it so he could figure out why he would need to socialize at all with those ¡°his age¡±. Time flew by and month after month went by in a flash. Cultivation usually did something to ones perspective of time. Seconds felt sometimes like forever, but in the next moment a year could have passed by. Two years had passed since Yu Jian ¡°lost his memories¡±. The Yu Sect had changed quite a lot the last couple of years. The Yu Sect was one of the most powerful Sects in the south of the continent. Their influence on the other Sects were obvious and through marriages and trading deals, had they increased their influence. Yet, because of a border of wilderness to the north, separating them from the bigger part of the continent, could they be compared to a frog in the well. They were in their own little world, only connected through the airships passing back and forth. Sister Ling had joined the biggest cultivation academy in the north and had to travel with an airship to get there. Actually calling the wilderness a border, would be an understatement. Borders usually quite thin and easy to pass through. This border, however, were a 1000 kilometer wide! Only people that had cultivated to the Xiantian Realm and could fly would be able to pass it as this wilderness was filled with dangerous desolate beasts. There were even rumours of even greater dangers than the desolate beasts! And because of the traveling distance, many cultivators had to use the airships, because only middle to top ranked Xiantian cultivators could fly that distance in one stretch! This made this part of the continent quite hard to fight for, as there were a limited amount of cultivators that strong. In the last two years, Yu Jian had passed through the cultivation stages like a hot knife through butter. Only 11 years old in this world, and he was already at the peak of the Profound Realm. Using one year passing through the Mortal Realm was insane! Though it was insane compared to common sense in this world, how was Yu Jian supposed to know that? Of course he felt it was too easy, but why complain right? Now, at 12 years of age, he had already entered the Xiantian Realm and could be seen as a mid-tier Xiantian cultivator. The Yuan Power was quite similar to Chi, just that compared to Chi it was much less of it. The ratio could be compared to the ration of oxygen in the air to helium. As oxygen is close to 21% of the air, there is only about 0,0005% of the air that is helium. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. With this in mind, it was not strange why through the Xiantian Realm, cultivation treasures that had a certain amount of Yuan Power inside were invaluable! Yu Jian, however, used the same deep breath technique he invented just improving it with small steps like how to sit in the best position to breath and so on. Being in closed training for so long made him a hermit with no knowledge to the common sense of this world. - One more year passed by and Yu Jian was now at the peak of the Xiantian Realm. He could be called an immortal overlord at the age of 13. Not knowing what to do next, Yu Jian only continued to cultivate his Chi and Yuan Power. Suddenly, something strange happened and the liquid Chi and liquid Yuan Power flowed through his body in a circular motion, faster and faster. In the end, the two started to mix. Slowly, the two completely different energies mixed and turned into a new unknown substance. When Yu Jian saw this he couldn¡¯t be happier! He decided to call the new substance for ¡°YuChi Power¡±. Laughing at his own bad naming sense he continued to cultivate, deciding that he would mix all the Chi and Yuan Power together into this new form. Seemingly forgotten, Yu Jian continued his old habbits and stayed inside his room in closed training. The newly found YuChi Power had a ratio of 1:100, Chi : Yuan Power, making it so he would have to cultivate a 100 times more to the peak of Xiantian Realm to change it all to YuChi Power. - Years flew by, and Yu Jian was now 18 years old. In the last 5 years, Yu Jian had perfected his cultivation technique, increasing the cultivation rate by nearly 400%. He was now at the peak of this unknown Realm that he had decided to call the Overlord Realm. As the last bit of YuChi Power formed, a feeling of satisfaction fell upon him. He knew that now was the time to leave exploring the world. 8 years had passed and soon Sister Ling would return if she had managed to graduate. Listening with his (insanely) improved hearing, Yu Jian couldn¡¯t fail to hear talk about the academy. The biggest academy in the north had a policy that anyone that went to their school would be atleast at the Xiantian Realm after graduation. There were also another rule that stated that, even if one managed to cultivate themselves into the Xiantian Realm, they would have to stay there for 8 years. Yu Jian had a great impression of Sister Ling. In his memories, now greatly improved by his cultivation, he could remember her as if he saw her yesterday. Without a doubt, by the way she had helped him with the memory stone and the usage of Chi, he could say that she would graduate in 8 years at about mid-tier Xiantian Realm cultivation. Yu Jian had noticed by looking at the people around him in the cafeteria, that most of those about his age were only in the peak of Deposition Realm. Of course, Yu Jian had no idea how far those in the inner sect had come, and core disciples of the elders had it even better. Though Yu Jian had no common sense, he could still do the math. He himself must be a top genius at cultivating because there was to big of a gap between him and the other. What he didn¡¯t get was, how did nobody notice how good his cultivation was? What he failed to remember or simply didn¡¯t notice was that he couldn¡¯t sense anyones cultivation before the Xiantian Realm either, and as he now had a superhigh level of cultivation he could sense everyone else. Maybe a high cultivation level is more normal than I though? I haven¡¯t really seen anyone else than Sister Ling from the inner sect or Doctor Xiaoqing. And at that time I hadn¡¯t cultivated at all so I couldn¡¯t see through their cultivation. As the outer sect had noone in the Xiantian Realm as guards, trainers or teachers. Noone would be able to notice his cultivation. And as his cultivation increased would less people be able to sense his cultivation. This was because noone could sense the cultivation of someone with higher cultivation than themselves. Now that Yu Jian had transcended into the peak of the Overlord Realm, noone would most likely be able to sense him. Then again, because of his age, they would probably believe that he hadn¡¯t cultivated at all. --- AN: There are some time skips. Then there are more time skips. Anyways... What I wanted for this story was to tell about how this guy rocks and not how he soon will rock if everything goes as planned through arc 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7. (get to the point kind of story and evolves from there) Like it? Good! You don''t like it? Why? both answers are welcome, but appreciate response and ratings! With love :* Sorrowman :''( Chapter 4 - Travelling - - Today was the day that Sister Ling would come back to the Yu Sect. Yu Jian had spent the last couple of days walking through the Sects building exploring the unknown corners of the building he had lived in the last 8 years. Has it really been 8 years? Time goes so fast! I know time goes faster when you do something you enjoy, but 8 years?? Walking further, Yu Jian suddenly found himself inside the training hall where it all started. At that moment Yu Jian had been to busy looking at all the amazing statues and details in the ceiling to take note of where they had walked. Now, after cultivating to the top, he could remember the path as if he had tried his best at the time to memories it. Where it all began¡ I wonder what to do next. I guess i¡¯ll have to ask Sister Ling if she knows of something. Maybe I should try to learn some martial arts? With no talent for martial arts, Yu Jian had never though of even trying it before now. With no idea if there was even a next stage in cultivation, time had to be spent at something else. Looking further down the training hall, Yu Jian could see 37 outer sect students copying the moves of the teacher in front of them. Suddenly, Yu Jian realized that this teacher had to be one of the elders of the Yu Sect. The robe the teacher was wearing had the symbol of elder on the back. Analyzing the elders every move, he came to realize how profound this martial art really was. The students weren¡¯t even close to get a grasp of the elders techniques. Slowly Yu Jian started to follow the elders moves, getting the feeling through his body. Seeing a fighting dummy right next to him, Yu Jian decided to try out these new moves. Twisting your wrist like that, following up with an angle like this¡ Yu Jian began calculating the moves. Stepping forward, Yu Jian released a seemingly normal punch to the dummy. This technique used the twist of the wrist to vibrate the Chi in the users body, sending it into the target and destroying them from within. Landing the punch Yu Jian felt satisfied by the feeling of it and left the hall. Sister Ling would come in about half an hour and Yu Jian wanted to be one of the first to greet her. Later, one of the outer sects students decided to try out the new skill on a dummy. Picking the one Yu Jian had been to earlier, he started charging up his punch. Just as the punch landed it went right through the dummy, Breaking it like a kinderegg. The dummy was completely hollow with only a millimeter left as a shell. The punch from Yu Jian had destroyed the matter on the inside of the dummy!
  • (Pov change to Sister Ling)
As the airship started to descend, Yu Ling felt a little excited. She would finally get to see Yu Jian again! The last 8 years had been quite tough. All the students at the Academy had to leave at least four times every year, hunting vicious beasts. For graduation, everyone had to hunt down and kill a minimum of one rank 1 desolate beast or die trying. For Yu Ling, this had not been too hard, but she felt sorry for those that had died or gotten expelled as they had failed to do this one task. Looking down through the group of people she quickly found Yu Jian. He was now all grown up and showed a mysterious attitude. The way he carried himself was almost too royallike and unpredictable, but at the same time graceful. His black hair was now long, down to his shoulders and his skin almost seemed to be cut from top quality white jade. Without even thinking, Yu Ling jumped out of the airship and flew down to meet Yu Jian. As she came close enough to see his eyes looking at her, she almost screamed out in surprise. They were so profound and deep brown giving of an air of mystery, yet seemed to shine at the same time. Landing in front of Yu Jian, she was totaly dumbfounded. She could not sense a speck of Chi in him or Yuan Power for that matter. Usually cultivation would improve the body and it¡¯s looks, so how could she not sense it? Either he had a higher cultivation than her or he was still struggeling grasping the Chi. As being above herself in cultivation seemed impossible she naturally though he hadn¡¯t event started. Of the people in the outer sect, some spent 5 to10 years before they could cultivate anything at all, so her logic wasn¡¯t completely flawed. Suddenly Yu Jian broke the silence: ¡°Long time no see Sister Ling. Congratulations graduating and on breaking through the Xiantian Disciple Realm into the Xiantian Deposition Realm!¡± Yu Jian said something that seemed impossible for Yu Ling to ever hear from him. At least not before she had told him herself. ¡°How did you know? Did someone tell you? I wanted it to be a surprise¡¡± ¡°I just sensed you¡¯re cultivation? Isn¡¯t that what everyone does? And I am a little surprised, even though I pretty much expected it to be at the mid-tier. ¡°???¡± Confusion could now be seen all over Yu Lings face. H-how can he sense others cultivation? No, that¡¯s im-impossible! I have to ask though. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. ¡°Uum¡ Yu Ling¡W-what¡¯s your cultivation level?¡± ¡°Mhm? To be honest, I don¡¯t know what level. I just know I passed peak Xiantian Realm 5 years ago, and because the book would tell how to cultivate further I had to figure out that part for myself. Wait, Yu Ling are you okay?¡±
  • (Pov change Yu Jian/ mc)
I rushed over to Sister Ling as she was about to fall, catching her before she hit the ground. I though people in the Xiantian Realm was supposed to be tougher than normal. Fainting in this heat should be pretty much impossible. Maybe something else is wrong? I picked her up in a princess hold and carried her to Doctor Xiaoqing. I guess meeting the doctor together is our thing? Fast as I could without making Sister Ling uncomfortable, I rushed to Doctor Xiaoqings room, knocking three times. I then gently kicked the door open as I carried Sister Ling inside. A strong smell of medicine could be sensed inside the room. ¡°What happened Yu Jian?¡± Xiaoqing asked as she found a wet towel to wipe Sister Lings forehead. ¡°Well, I don¡¯t really know why, but¡¡± I continued to tell her how Sister Ling jumped out of the airship and how we simply greeted each other and that I congratulated her with her achievements reaching mid-tier Xiantain Realm then later on fainted. Just as I finished the explaining, Sister Ling woke up. ¡°How do you feel, Yu Ling?¡± Asked Xiaoqing as she continued to wipe her face gently. However, Sister Ling didn¡¯t say anything. She was simply staring at me, making it really awkward and silent. Is it something I have done wrong? I don¡¯t know anything about what women think. Was it wrong of me to greet her like normal? Breaking the silence, Sister Ling finally began to whisper: ¡°You broke thru to the Realm above Xiantian??¡± Was that what surprised her? I guess since it¡¯s so long ago I didn¡¯t even think of that as abnormal. ¡°Yea, I call it the Overlord Realm. You have to mix the Chi and Yuan Pow- Not you too Xiaoqing!¡± After about an hour, we finally came to an end with the talking after Xiaoqing woke up and I explained how I cultivated. Surprise was written all over their faces. What they told me later was that in the southern part of the continent, the amount of immortal overlords could be counted with two hands. In the northern parts though, it was unknown. There could be more like me who cultivated in secret, but it was highly unlikely. Yuan Power was exponentially more difficult to gather, compress and turn into the liquid Yuan Power. Most people would spend over 200 years on the last part of that process. What that meant to say was that Sister Ling was actually a prodigy among prodigies. I guess that makes me a monster. I also found out that there were actually more steps of cultivation, but the reason it wasn¡¯t explained anywhere was because it was different for every person after the Xiantian Realm. Most immortal overlords would spend hundreds of years trying to get insight in some kind of law or element, helping to find their cultivation path. I guess I¡¯ll have to do some travelling! Shouldn¡¯t get into any trouble for now in the south unless some kind of expert comes flying from the north. The name of the Realms above Xiantian didn¡¯t have a spesific names. There were move like levels above. For instance, the Overlord Realm as I called it was called in general 3nd Power Realm. Kind of boring if you ask me. I¡¯ll continue name them as I please haha! And the ranking goes up; 4th Power Realm, 5th Power Realm. It goes all the way up to the 10th Power Realm, which is the Godlike Power Realm. Legend says that in this realm, one can control the elements to your will, split mountains with a chopstick and sleep at the bottom of the ocean seemingly forever with one single breath. Traveling among the stars was not a dream either. I knew it was too easy! Watch out guys! If this was basketball I¡¯ll get a penalty, cuz I¡¯m travelling! - AN: Probably not the best chapter, but it was neccessary to get through this part I guess. I''ve never been actually "good" at beginnings, but hopefully it was enough. I''m going to have a short (hopefully really short) break writing some chapter in advance, because this chapter felt a little rushed right now. I''ll also hope that I''ll manage to write a story that in the end will leave you with a satisfied feeling. See you next time ;) - Sorrowman :''(
