《My travel to a new game world》
Wait did you say another world?
So around this time I, Enrique Zepeda, should have been going to the big shopping center with my best friend Steve to get the newest game made by BAGRC. It should have been great we would have some of the first sets of the first and only virtual reality game. But things never go as planned, what went wrong you ask. Well he was summoned. In short he was summoned to another world for god knows what reason.
That''s fairly common on Earth now. It¡¯s become a commonly known fact that one in every ten thousand people will either fall into, get summoned, or reincarnate into another world. Although you might be thinking that one in every ten thousand isn¡¯t a lot if you think about the world''s population being about seven billion it turns into a lot.
And of the people who end up in another world about one in a thousand make their way back to Earth. And my best friend steve happens to be in the summoned category. I know this because a large magic circle looking thing appeared below his feet and then he was gone.
I guess all there is to do now is solo the game while praying that he didn¡¯t get summoned by a malicious person. With some luck he will probably get to be an overpowered hero who has a harem after easily defeating the demon king or something like that.
Actually the man who made the game is also someone who came back from a futuristic world, or so he¡¯s stated in a press conference. Because of this the game he made is supposed to be extremely realistic, he had so much confidence that there were no beta testers. Instead some information on the play style and system were released.
Although this was seen as a somewhat bold move and somewhat irrational, people who come back are mostly all excentrics. The game is supposed to be an mmorpg style game where you choose your race and play style with an almost unlimited amount of possibilities. You can even buy an expansion pack, which I did, and choose to be any of the races in the game which include monsters and all kinds of weird beings.
If you choose to you could even be a fish. The only problem with those is that you would not know how to move properly after all as a proper human being you wouldn¡¯t understand how to move yourself like a fish or even if someone chose something like a dragon the body shape is considerably different.
This bring me to another point, weapons and fighting. Let''s say you wanted to be the greatest swordsmen in the game but do you know how to use a sword? What you wanted to be a martial arts master and fight bare handed against a tiger, then do you know martial arts? For this reason the forums discussing possible play styles mostly consist of possible magician play styles.
As a magician all you have to do is memorize a couple of lines for your favorite spells. Which is honestly not too difficult I mean I¡¯ve seen some of my friends memorize a three minute song they like after only listening to it twice. So before Steve went and got summoned we were planning to play as a team, he would be the vanguard and I would be both a magician and an archer.
But now that that idea has been thrown out the window I have to think of something else to have fun playing solo. I¡¯m still planning on being one of the rare archers however seeing as I worked hard to have some decent skills in it. But while I say some skill it¡¯s not enough to get me into a group so I''m sticking with the solo play style.
Well time to stop wasting time and pick up my new game and consul. Heading to the shopping center is easy as it''s only a short walk from my house and because I know the owner of the game store I can just pick up mine from the back and avoid the long line that¡¯s had people waiting for close to a week.
They really should just dave a delivery option. Walking to the back of the game store I knocked on the door and began to wait for old mister Dave to open the door.
¡°Ah kid, I¡¯ve been expecting you for a while now. Here¡¯s everything.¡± [Old man Dave]
Without wasting any time he gave me a large box and shut the door in my face right after i had it in my hands.
¡°Thanks!¡± [Enrique]
Can¡¯t forget to show gratitude or else he might not let me do this again. The box is fairly big but still manageable, with that i left and began walking back home. Luckily it¡¯s the weekend and I¡¯ll be able to play all day without any interruptions. After reaching my house it wasn¡¯t to hard to set up the game console all you really need to do is connect it to the outlet and a computer.
Thinking that I would be able to play longer if I ate before I started i made some pasta and ate my fill. Then with all distractions gone and everything that needed to be taken care of finished I turned on the game as the first player. The helmet was slightly uncomfortable but that¡¯s easily forgotten once the full immersion effect takes place.
The feeling is neither pleasant nor unpleasant you mostly just feel like you fell asleep rather abruptly. Once I was fully conscious of the world around me all that was in sight was an open white area.
¡°Hey aren''t you a bit early? Well nevermind welcome first player or the great mmorpg game Fantasy War Online. Now then first because you purchased the expansion pack so you''re allowed to choose any race, two skills, and two random skills in addition to what you would normally be allowed.¡± [???]
Turning around to the speaker I actually had some anticipation, from her voice I couldn''t imagine anything less than a beautiful woman. But things were not to be as all that was behind me was a giant floating blue orb.
¡°So how do I choose and can you assist me in that?¡± [Enrique]
¡°Yes I can either had you a list or you can as for a couple of things you want and I can show you the closest thing to you desire.¡± [Blue Orb]
So all that¡¯s left is for me to decide, really though since my plans were basically thrown out the window and spent the remaining time not thinking about anything else from the shock I haven¡¯t thought of anything. First to make the game extra hard would be a good idea, after all if I chose something like a dragon and have insane stats from the start it might get boring fast so.

Because the blue orb doesn¡¯t have expressions I couldn¡¯t see a look of shock but i could almost make out a surprised little gasp.

The blue pop up screen can get annoying as it obstructs most of my vision, hopefully one doesn¡¯t pop out later when I¡¯m on a boss fight or doing something important. So in summary they aren''t necessarily not able to rise one just never tried.
Wow this might be something fun as I can invent a character and play as the underdog. The only thing that bothers me a little is how shadow magic is the weakest considering it sounds like it can be used in cool ways.
¡°So why is shadow magic the weakest, isn¡¯t that usually fairly strong combating light or holy magic?¡± [Enrique]
¡°Undead magic or dark magic will combat those. Shadow magic on the other hand allows one to hide in the shadows and has no offensive capabilities for a while into the game. While assassines may use it it will only show it¡¯s real effect during the night cycle making it useless half the time.¡± [Blue Orb]
That¡¯s kinda harsh on shadow magic but it could be another fun thing to rise. For now that seems to be what I''m going to go for.
¡°Now as for the skills I want I¡¯ll go with archery and identify.¡± [Enrique]
Identify isn¡¯t something the game allows you to do and while I could go without it having it will save me a lot of trouble, for example I could pick out poisonous things from the start and use them or health related herbs. In short it¡¯s something with great potential.

Ohhhh! Nice I assumed I would get the same blue screen but it¡¯s got a little customization because of the race I chose. The two random skills I got aren''t bad either, summoning and shadow magic. Well shadow magic is the innate talent of a shadow imp so I don''t really know if it¡¯s random. But summoning might be good considering the fact that I don¡¯t have a vanguard, I hadn¡¯t even thought of that. But it¡¯s not like I¡¯m aiming to be one of the top players in the game, I¡¯m just aiming to have fun.
¡°So I have a question before I start, well sort of a semi-complaint. Isn¡¯t Shadow magic what I should have as a race thing?¡± [Enrique]
¡°No the attribute just adds the ease to acquire magic and the attribute to any spells you cast. For example if you would have chosen fire magic it would have turned the spells you cast into shadow like spells. The same will be applied to your summoning as you will only be able to summon shadow creatures.¡± [Blue Orb]
Well that was never mentioned but I wasn¡¯t really planning to go the mage rout anyways so not a real problem. But because the shadow imp is more geared towards magic and not physical abilities from the start I do think it will help me to have the summoning skill. Thank you random generator, you have served me well.

Saying thanks to the Blue orb a blue light enveloped me, when I looked down and saw a rune like pattern at the edges of the light. They work so hard to make it feel like you''re going to another world.

Wait, what did she say? Wait, she didn¡¯t just say they were sending me to another world right? Normally this is something you can laugh off but not when that''s a thing that regularly happens and there being so many ways for it to happen.

Oh he seemed surprised at the last second. But he did cheat to get this first copy. Maybe i shouldn¡¯t have sent him to another world like that so easily. Well it doesn¡¯t matter i was planning to send the first person to choose a monster as the new demon king of that world. After all they already summoned a hero.
But I might need a backup plan. Why did he chose the weakest creature? No matter as long as he grows strong the humans will hunt him as the demon king and I can raise another just in case, or not. Who knows I guess I¡¯ll watch him until his level reaches fifteen then I¡¯ll decide.

Ohhh Ohhhhh no. Please don¡¯t tell me that I got sent to another world. That can''t happen right? No it just happened to my best friend like a week ago so it¡¯s completely possible. Ahhhh, I¡¯m freaking out.
First let¡¯s make sure I''m still in the game and what the blue orb said was just a slogan or something, tea I''m sure that¡¯s what it was and the magic circle looking thing was just part of the details to make this fun. Yup that¡¯s right it''s all in good fun, after all the logout button is right¡

No logout button, plus my words seem to be incomprehensible. All''s right with the world, Not! Why!? This is a terrible situation, I chose the weakest creature. Even the ever mob character, goblin, can beat me with relative ease. So let''s omit the rest of me freaking out for a good three hours. during those three hours I noticed a couple of things first I''m in a forest.
And it¡¯s no small forest either the trees are at least three thousand times my size also this appears to not only be a forest but a mountain forest, meaning only God knows how high up I could be. How did I notice this you so politely ask, well it¡¯s simple there area large slopes leading both up and down. Now the only question is why I''m missing a crucial skill.
Why can¡¯t i have a gamer mind skill, it would help if something suppressed my emotions. I mean you read novels and comics where the main character is distressed over having his or her emotions forcibly changed but the upside is that he or she always realizes that it was that skill that kept him or her sane.
I don¡¯t have that! I¡¯m going to go insane! Wait don¡¯t panic again that would be detrimental, calm thoughts. Now I have to figure out what I can do and not waste any more time. There was supposed to be a tutorial maybe that¡¯s still on the table if this world functions like the game, to figure that out first let¡¯s try it out. ¡®Hep¡¯ ¡®Tutorial¡¯ nope nothing.
Well then I guess I¡¯m going to die. I mean normally this is when I make a resolution to build a harem or become the demon king but that¡¯s not possible.
This isn¡¯t something where I have insane cheat abilities or can survive regardless of what happens after all plot armor isn¡¯t a thing in real life. But giving up at the start would be to terrifying, humans are a very adaptive species, well I''m no longer human but I was.
And fear of death can be a great motivator for anyone. So first let''s think about my skills first there¡¯s archery, I don¡¯t have a bow or arrows so that¡¯s out.
Next is summoning, I don¡¯t know how to use it but maybe something will come to me in a while. Then there¡¯s identify let¡¯s see about that one. ¡®Identify¡¯ while chanting in my head I looked at a nearby tree.

Oh it works then that should be fairly simple to use and the last skill I have is show magic. But for these things you need to know the chant and well it¡¯s something I don¡¯t know. The only thing I can think of is hope that identify works on the various skills then maybe I''ll get more info than just the simple explanation of what the skill is. ¡®Identify¡¯

Noooo! Why does it work that way? Why would you give me a skill that doesn¡¯t work without having another separate skill? Contract, I need to make a contract with something or someone to be able to summon them.
Well I understand that it¡¯s reasonable and it¡¯s not like magic can just creat thing out of thin air if the law of conservation of mass is applied but still. No wait calm down, my last hope is shadow magic.
While I don¡¯t think it can kill anything, considering what the blue orb said, it can still help me hide. Right around the time I began to calm down once more I heard footsteps, and not the light kind, these were heavy from something big.
Not to far from where I stood was a gigantic lizard, with obsidian black scales and a large build it was a bereft match for a western dragon. Ohh you cruel cruel orb, who sends the weakest creature to a dragon¡¯s territory.
So you were just asking me to die is that right? Well played. Well enough of my delusions time to hide. The only thing I''m praying for is that the dragon sees me as insignificant and goes along it¡¯s path and does whatever dragons do.
I¡¯m sure it¡¯s not hungry enough to eat me considering how small I am. While shivering in fright as it is the normal reaction to being in front of a dragon I waited for it to pass. Sadly that was not to be. While it was walking it turned it¡¯s head to look at me as if staring right into my soul.
Not being able to stand the pressure from such a thing I did what any brave warrior would do¡ I passed out. When I awoke I was in a large cave thinking that the dragon had collected me for winter storage I almost freaked out again but stopped when I saw it staring at me once more.

Suddenly a strange voice resounded in my head, while I couldn¡¯t understand the words it sounded like a perfect soothing melody.
¡®Child you are much to over stressed, worry not I am here on a request from a friend. I am to give you something of a tutorial.¡¯[???]
Somehow now understanding the words I faced the dragon, thinking that the words it just said were impossible, it was going to be my tutorial? Then shouldn¡¯t I have gone without one maybe then I could have appeared in a safe zone. But then again having the help of a dragon isn¡¯t bad as long I don¡¯t anger it. OMG did I get the gamer mind skill? Nope still incomparably afraid. Curse you blue orb for not thinking about my mental health.
¡®Child my name is Adelinda, I am the first of the noble dragons. And I shall teach you to survive. In return after I have taught you some things you will do me a favor.¡¯ [Adelinda]
I don¡¯t know what I can do for a dragon but that''s fine as long as I don¡¯t get eaten.

Yes, I thought so but what I say is no longer gibberish. I can now understand the words I say despite knowing i¡¯m no longer speaking Spanish. Well this is a different world after all you can¡¯t expect them to use the same language.
¡®Hmm well shield you seem to have some poor skills but that can be worked on after you tell me what you would like to know then I will teach you as I see fit, because I will be repaid in various ways name some things you wish to learn then we will work on them.¡¯ [Adelinda]

Nice I get to choose, then I have to recommend things I''ve always wanted to do and things that have hidden cheats.

Yes support magic has a hidden cheat. What is it you ask. It¡¯s the fact that the spells will act in accordance to what they are a strengthening spell should still be a strengthening spell. Why is that important? Well to put it simply, it¡¯s my shadow magic affinity.
Even if I were to learn something like explosion magic it would still be a shadow like explosion and I can''t be sure it would actually do anything. Now with support magic I would still strengthen myself and more importantly my summoned creatures. Summoning is also important because I''m no good in a fight.
I''ve fought before with others, I''ve even done some martial arts training and archery training in order to better prepare for a vrmmorpg but this and that are different. I¡¯m no longer willing to stand in front of something and fight to the death.
It¡¯s understandable right, how many people would really take up a sword and run towards something that could kill them when you¡¯ve lived a life of peace. So with those things I should be able to consider myself a rearguard and fight from a safe distance behind a wall of summoned creatures. With that I can be at peace.

With that the explanation of the world began. In this world everything seems to run on a game like system that is man gaged by whatever God you fall under. Depending on what God you fall under there will be different ways for someone to gain ¡°exp¡± for leveling up.
Being a monster I was born under the Titan God of Chaos the only condition he gave for monsters to level up is to kill other creatures personally regardless of how I just need to be the one to kill things. Because of that it seems that I can''t just ask summoned creatures to go out and kill things for me while I sit back and gain exp. I can however have them fight until my opponent is almost dead and reap the rewards.
Because there are various gods humans will have various leveling conditions but I was not told because it is currently irrelevant to the current me. Also because I have low stat points unlike a dragon or some great species I was told to focus on leveling my skills.
Because although there is no auto correction if I learned something like level nine contract skill then I would in theory be able to have high monsters serve under me. Skill level is directly perforation all on what I know and can actually do so even if I were to somehow be able to cast the final spell of the shadow magic system if I don¡¯t have the necessary mana it would not show the skill at a maxed out level.
But having skills is not entirely useless and just there for show. Adelinda was somewhat mad when I suggested that. They do in fact make you somewhat stronger. The difference from someone who has and someone who doesn''t have a particular skill is supposed to be at least a third in power difference, this power boost is supposed to be given by the gods.
It like someone with a high axe skill picking up a sword would not get the boost. In the same way if I just happen to have enough mana to cast a fire spell and know the chant it would be weaker than someone that worked for the fire magic skill.
Skills are obtained through knowledge and hard work, so to learn the support magic skill and contract skill I¡¯ll have to use it a bunch of times until it feels natural. I naturally thought to tell Adelinda to teach me all the skills she could especially the skills that dragons knew but didn¡¯t. Instead I''ll focus on a couple of skills and specialize.
It¡¯s already a fact that I am weak compared to almost anything else out there so becoming a jack of all trades master of none would be detrimental. Still one close quarter combat skill would be nice something that could save me in case of an emergency.
For that I asked Adelinda for advice and she suggested staff arts or a whip, although I didn¡¯t understand the whip thinking about a certain explorer made me chose it. So with that I was also told not to try and increase the number of skills I have any further because of my race and the short time I have. At first I was wondering what she meant by short time, and thinking that maybe dragons lived long lives I let it go.
But after a while it had been bothering me and I asked about it. It turns out I was right and dragons especially ones as strong as her don¡¯t die unless killed. Unfortunately I was also told that a shadow imp dies of old age after ten years.
This sent me into another hour of freaking out until I felt hunger and ate something raw that the dragon had kindly provided before I was told to go to sleep. But before that I checked my status once just to see if anything had changed, I mean I can understand the language somehow or other so maybe I''ve gained something.

Chapter 3: My first Familiar
Now after a good night of sleep I feel oddly bad. Maybe it was sleeping on a cave floor that did that. Well let¡¯s persevere for now and aim to increase my level now that I¡¯ve been recognized by a god.
Really though if I would have done something outrageous and tried to level up beforehand it would have been pointless. That just goes to show that cowering in fear is the right choice sometimes, although it''s not it worked out.
¡®Child do not leave the cave, around here there are no monsters lower that at least level ten. And I will not protect you outside this area.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Seemingly reading my intention My dragon guardian stopped me from going out to die. Then skill leveling while safe is the best choice.
¡°Umm then what will I do other than skill leveling? Also why am I always referred to as child?¡± [Enrique]
¡®You have no name and I do not believe you are somehow older than me, hence child.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Oh right it seems that monsters only have names when they are powerful or something like that. I¡¯ve met named monsters in RPGs and they are usually boss type characters, something I am not.
¡®Now then let us begin training you in the skills you have and have asked for. Let''s begin with shadow magic as it¡¯s the easiest.¡¯ [Adelinda]
After that she recited three spell chants and told me to memorize them before I started trying to cast them. The three spells were quite ordinary and non lethal being shadow wall, dark cloak, and light eater.
Shadow wall was just like its name, a wall made of a large shadow, it would only be useful in sneaking around dark areas as cover without raising suspicion. Honestly I can understand why shadow magic was designated for assassination because while the spell itself doesn¡¯t cause damage at night it would be good natural looking cover.
The second spell is similar to the first one but instead of a stationary wall it creates a cloak of shadows to conceal the caster. This also seems really useful but the drawback is that it similar to shadow wall it has no defencive properties and your front can be exposed if someone looks in your direction carefully after all cloaks aren''t perfect cover.
And the last one that seems to be the most useful because it can infact directly oppose light magic is light eater. As a shadow imp my innate weakness is light magic and light magic users have a weakness to dark or undead magic which I don¡¯t have but with light eater I even the playing field as long as the opponent isn¡¯t too much stronger than I am. Luckily the chants for these spells are simple and I was able to memorize them fairly quickly.
¡®Now start until you run out of mana then recover and do so again for the next week. When you have a grasp of your mana reserves and shadow magic I''ll move on to teach you the contract skill so that you can train in your summoning magic.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Another thing that I forgot to mention is that skills can¡¯t actually be gained that easily, or at least what are considered high ranked or rare skills. Those skills mostly include any magic system you have a bad affinity with. So for someone to just pick up summoning even if they know the chants and can perform it somewhat is difficult, luckily I already have it.
Unlike those skills however it seems that things like weapon skills can be learned by anyone but leveling them up depends on talent and effort. Contract magic is in between those two, first you need a good or at least decent grasp of any magic to grasp your mana.
Then you need to know the chant and magic circle, normally this is the difficult part as it¡¯s kept hidden by most as a trade secret. Apparently that''s how slaves are made and monsters aren''t really too fond of it in general making it almost a human exclusive skill.
But Adelinda knows it because she has had many experiences in life.thanks to this I will have the skill. It also seems that there is a taming skill but for that you either need a good affinity with different creatures or something to entice a creature to follow you.
I as a weak imp have neither and chose the contract skill that will make whatever I contract into a slave like existence. Though I''m not to fond of the word slave it¡¯s going to consist of monsters so I don¡¯t really mind, I don¡¯t think I could use this on humans however.
For a week I did just as Adelinda instructed and repeatedly cast the three spells, maintaining them for a long period of time however was difficult. And through all that hard work my mana reserves didn¡¯t increase.
That can only be done by leveling up apparently. As monsters our growth is restricted that way, unlike humans who have vast potential and very greatly in states depending on the person.
Instead I was able to feel a slight reduction on the mana cost of each spell as I continued to use them. Although from what Adelinda told me it¡¯s not because I''m great but because I''m starting to get closer to casting the spell at a normal level one state.
¡®Now then it¡¯s time to move on to the contract skill. This will be simple, I''ll draw the magic circle on the wall and you copy it onto the ground until it¡¯s satisfactory. I will also be teaching you the chant. This skill is fairly simple and only has two chants even at its highest level they will not change the only difference is what you will be able to make submit to your will.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Following that the same process repeated itself I memorized the chants and the magic circle for a week. The two chants were straightforward one was for making a contract and the other was for breaking it. During this time I also didn¡¯t forget to continue practicing shadow magic, I can see why I was told not to take on too much.
For two skills I''ve already had to memorize five chants and a magic circle, but it¡¯s easier if you tell yourself that you¡¯ll die if you don¡¯t. Recently I''ve been faking out less but that¡¯s because it¡¯s fairly safe with Adelinda after she leaves it¡¯s going to be hell.
Now I have a good grasp of my mana and can stop before it runs out, there''s nothing like passing out after it runs dry but it does leave you really sluggish and thinking strait becomes difficult so I like to avoid that state, plus draining my mana doesn''t help much so it¡¯s pointless.
Now it¡¯s finally time to have my first familiar, a summoned creature can help me level up considerably fast and if what Adelinda said then all the monsters around here are considerably strong.
However she said that I had to practice my summoning magic so she might help me find something suitable. While I was thinking that the obsidian dragon moved towards me.
¡®Good, you learned that rather quickly. Unfortunately there are no monsters around here that you can subdue¡ Unless we get you one just for practice, what do you say? Although it will be considerably weak.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Oh so she is gonna kinda help, at least in the search. ¡°I have no problem with that. What monster is it?¡± [Enrique]
But she didn¡¯t tell me instead she looked out the cave entrance and gave a small dragon sigh, which made it seem rather big from here.

Following her I was kinda expecting something grand. I mean she is a dragon maybe what she considers weak is still multiple times stronger than I am, even if it was a low level gray wolf it would still be fine. After walking for about an hour I found that we were headed to an area with less and less trees.
This was fine now because I had an obsidian dragon accompanying me but normally I would avoid open areas such as this. This is the kind of place where you have a random encounter with an adventurer or some stronger hungry monster without anywhere to hide.

Looking around I saw nothing but because she had told me to spot it first I knew something was in the general direction in which she had pointed her head. Not being able to find it I began using identify on everything until it¡¯s statues menu popped into view.

No, that couldn¡¯t be it right? I mean the stats aren''t actually bad, if it was just physical strength then it trumps me easily but that? Can it even grow.

¡®So you do have the identify skill, good. And yes although it¡¯s level is low and it¡¯s fighting ability is also low, it¡¯s the only thing around here that¡¯s possible for you to contract on your own. Also for future reference try using identify on its race.¡¯ [Adelinda]

So it¡¯s just a weed that took in mana, has no intelligence, and attacks anything that gets near. Well hopefully I can give it commands after this as it has two good skills that could work for crowd control. With that my first battle in this world started.
And I lost quickly. I tried to use shadow cloak to hide myself while using light eater to deprive it of its vision but it doesn''t have eyes and I have no other ways to attack. I really should have learned something offensive.
After that because it was trying to kill me slowly like an anaconda squeezing its prey I had enough time to draw the contract circle with practiced ease using my blood. Getting the blood was easy as I had semi sharp nails and no real defensive hide. the good thing was that I didn¡¯t panic.
Why you ask, did I finally became brave? Well no, the malice weed had good restraining power but instead of actually trying to kill me it just trapped me and squeezed slowly due to the fact that it has no intelligence and never did anything past capturing its prey.
Normally they just feed of the earth so while not deadly it is mean, hence malice weed. Once the contract circle had been finished I began the short chant.
¡°Creature who has fallen prey to my power fall under me and submit. I declare you my possession, from now on my word is law to your body and soul. Contract creature.¡± [Enrique]
The difference for creatures and humans or any other thing can be reworded and I can also contract a creature to someone else if I use their blood and true name, it doesn¡¯t work if the other party gives me a fake name. And though I kinda fell prey to it, it didn¡¯t really matter now I had my first familiar.
Lastly because of the fact that the creature was bound for summoning it would transform according to my elemental affinity as long as it didn¡¯t have one of its own. The malice weed does not have one meaning that it would transform and then enter what is known as a summoning space but Adelinda said she would explain that when we get back for now I left the malice weed where I found it and headed back to the cave.
After a while my dragon companion taught me the summon magic chant while sounding tired for some reason. Maybe she doesn¡¯t go out much or simply thinks that taking care of me is getting boring.
¡®Child¡ I will only be with you until you reach level ten. Learn what you can in that time and then go out and explore.¡¯ [Adelinda]
After saying that she went to the place she usually sleeps in and left me to summon my malice weed alone.

With that the floor looked like a swirling shadow appeared and out of it came the malice weed. Looking at it from up close without all the grass that was around it before I don¡¯t understand why it¡¯s called a weed. It¡¯s just a blade of grass in reality, but now it has some dark lines running through it, most likely from obtaining a shadow aptitude.
Because it could not get a firm hold on the ground it moved into a shadow. Which was really weird, did it gain a new skill? Before going to sleep for the night I should check what my status is and what the malice weed¡¯s status is. And I should probably name it. Well because I''m bad at naming I''m going to go the easy rout.

Chapter 4: Traning in various skills and preparing for combat
Having just gotten my new familiar I was curious about the various aspects of summoning but Adelinda seemed tired and waking her doesn¡¯t seem to be a good idea. So instead I¡¯m going to continue with shadow magic practice. Having verified the fact that I am properly at what is considered level one in the shadow magic skill I have confirmed that anything I do from now on is an increase.
Regrettably I do not possess a speed leveling skill or a skill steal skill so I have to level my skills the old fashioned way, hard work. Normally I wouldn¡¯t have the mentality for single minded effort like this but when I remember that leveling skills is the only way I''ll survive then getting bored is impossible. Having said that I also don¡¯t think that it is possible to level certain skills without having higher stats in certain places.
For example an archer would need great agility and endurance. Thinking about that the various thing that stat points can go into encompass more than what they seem to. Strength is fairly straightforward compared to some of the other ones, it¡¯s just how much raw force can be used without any other form of support.
Intelligence isn¡¯t actually about how smart one is or how much someone can memorize or calculate, instead it is simply one''s mana capacity. Endurance is the most complicated because it has many forms and is not the same representation for everyone. It can be how strong one physical defence is, how long one can last doing intense activities, or simply how strong one¡¯s life force is.
Because of that I was told to be careful of anyone with a high endurance because it meant that either it¡¯s hard to hurt them, they can win in drawn out battles, or they simply won''t die regardless of what you do.
For example an undead has infinite endurance but it has weak defence instead it never tiers and is tenacious. In a similar way agility encompasses multiple things such as reflexes, speed, dynamic vision, and dexterity. And these things make fighting certain enemies annoying if you trust the status menus too much.
Instead I was told to pay more attention to skills as it is a better representation of what someone is capable of. But Adelinda also told me that it¡¯s just her point of view, others see it differently and most actually pay more attention to stats so it can be confusing.
Next I was taught suport magic, this is something I had the most trouble in because my shadow attribute didn¡¯t fit well with it but I managed to gain the skill after two weeks.
For the level one support magic I learned three spells arm strengthening, speed boost, and defensive boost. All three spells are straightforward and work just like their namesake so there is no need for explanation other then it gives a plus four to strength, agility, or endurance for a minute.
For now these spells are a godsend because when they are cast I have average level strength and if used on Null, my malice weed, it¡¯s physical strength is somewhat overpowering.
Considering it has some exp points that means it has already killed at least one thing. Speaking of Null, Adelinda explained the difference between summoned creatures and tamed creatures. Tamed creatures are companions that follow you by choice.
Summoned creatures are more like slaves because a contract is necessary but that isn¡¯t the only thing. They are sent to what is called a summoner space where they are broken down into mana and reside not needing food or water. It also allows them to heal safely as long as the creature isn¡¯t dead it can recover after some time.
The downside however is that keeping them summoned takes a permanent toll on your mana supply. For example if I had ten points of mana then summoned Null it would take two points to keep it summoned then I only have eight points available as long as it¡¯s out.
Because I have a good amount of mana and Null is fairly weak I don¡¯t feel the difference but stronger monsters will have larger tolls meaning I have to focus on raising my mana pool if I want something stronger than me to protect me.
But that can only be done by raising my level. But that¡¯s more or less impossible considering where I am, so instead I''ll try to level my skills and think of a strategy for living after reaching level ten.
Although maybe if I never reach it Adelinda will stay with me for my ten year lifespan and protect me. But that¡¯s also a no, I''m not willing to live in a cave for ten years while eating raw meat and sleeping on the hard rock floor. And to make my life better I''ve resolved to continue practicing.
Because it seemed necessary I was given a week more to practice my support spells along with my summoning spells. I was also told that no chant is possible but it is regrettably not a skill. Instead it''s done through practicing a spell until you get the feel of it and begin shortening the chant until it¡¯s gone altogether.
High level wizards can apparently in sta cast low level spells as a means to buy time for a larger spell. Next is going to be my only combat skill, whip, although I chose it in my excitement I''m sure that I can make something good out of it.
I mean I''ve seen what someone can do with a towel so a whip should be able to do more than just harass an opponent. With this I''m more of a medium to long range character, short rang is too frightening so I''ll skip that instead I plan on having Null protect me by trapping anyone that gets to close.
And because it has planted and apparently rotted itself inside my shadow it can follow me anywhere as long as I don''t mind the drop in my mana pool. Having said that I do not have a whip and I don¡¯t really think Adelinda has one either so I have to make one. While thinking about how to make one I had a great idea. Null can help me.
¡°Null grow longer.¡± [Enrique]
While having Null grow I cut off various pieces to see what length would make a good whip. I thought of using material from it because it is surprisingly sturdy and at the same time very flexible.
Having found a good piece I began working on showing Null how to braid itself into a whip. By the way I don¡¯t know what my current height is so I can''t really give measurements to anything. I know I''m short but that¡¯s it about it.
And for my appearance I have gray skin, pointy ears, an unproportional head to body ratio, and wings and a tail that I don''t even know how to use. The reason for that is that my wings are too small to actually carry me and as a former human I have no idea how to move my tail. I can do so occasionally but most of the time it just lies motionless.

I''m also not sure what my face looks like but because it can¡¯t be good so I would prefer to save that for when I''m not in danger of dieing. After a long time trying to get Null to make a whip I succeeded and now had a decent whip made from part of Nulls body.
I also instructed it to learn how to create one quickly and use it for itself. After all apart from the entangle skill it has no offensive capabilities which is a waste considering its high strength stat. Now with my whip I began to learn how to strike and Adelinda would correct my mistakes.
I had an idea of adding spikes to the end of it later but was told that it would be a bad idea. Whips are apparently blunt force weapons and it¡¯s the final crack of the whip that produces the most damage. I was told that if I used spikes at the end instead of having the force from the crack it would instead get stuck and then simply become a weapon for harassment instead of a deadly weapon.
Instead I was told that adding spikes to the body of the whip would be a better idea as it could help me catch anything I want with more ease. And with that Null and I began to master the whip. I was told that although Null can¡¯t see it can feel the vibrations in the ground and air to sense near by enemies.
It also can¡¯t hear but do to our contract it will more or less do what I tell it. After this I''m going to be given two months to up all my skills then Adelinda will find good opponents for me to fight and raise my level.
Fighting is also important because just practicing skills will only get you so far, I''m told that skills will raise faster if you participate in actual combat. I guess it¡¯s the difference from going at a punching bag for an hour and sparing for an hour.
Sparing will definitely help improve your skills more while simply hitting a punching bag is meant more as a workout. Ahhh, why does a game system like world have to have so many complications.
Well I guess it makes sense, this is real life after all and not a game. While the gods are willing to auto increase our stats it would feel weird to have them change me based on my skills, like if I suddenly knew how to use some weapon or magic.
¡®Child after you reach whip skill level two I¡¯ll teach you a whip art.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Art? What¡¯s a whip art? I''m going to assume it''s like a martial art skill. After asking it¡¯s apparently what a spell is to a magic system for a weapon or martial arts system. Something like heavy slash for the sword skill or power shot for an archer.
Well that''s a long way to go if I don¡¯t pay attention to what my dragon instructor tells me. And honestly it is hard to use a whip but it¡¯s also a good and versatile medium range weapon. Ahh, I wonder if Steve¡¯s summoning is going better than mine.
He always talked about getting summoned and screwing over a king if he wasn¡¯t treated fairly then getting his own harem. Well I guess I¡¯ll pray that he¡¯s doing better than I am. But I have no time to think about those things I have to focus on being able to survive and finding a way to live longer.
As a former human I had expected to live for at least sixty years but now my prime will pass after i¡¯m five. No that¡¯s not something I can except. Wait why don¡¯t I just ask my dragon teacher who is here to answer my questions.

¡®Speak child.¡¯ [Adelinda]
¡°So I was thinking if there was a way for me to extend my lifespan. It¡¯s just that ten years seems to short.¡± [Enrique]
I thought that she would have to think about my question for a while but she was actually able to give me an immediate answer.
¡®Then you have to evolve. After every ten levels you have a chance to evolve into a higher class monster. Although I''ve never seen a high class imp it is possible. And depending on what race you are there are also various evolutionary paths. The lower a creature is the more paths they generally have. Take a goblin they might become a hobgoblin then a goblin noble and eventually became a goblin king but they can also go a different rout and change race altogether turning into an ogre. But like I said for an imp I wouldn¡¯t know. After all as soon as an imp levels up it usually dies.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Ah the cruel stupidity that is the shadow imp hunting method, we''ll all imps really. They attack in groups of at least a hundred and can kill even level twenty opponents but the problem is the sacrifices they make to accomplish that.
On top of that the most powerful imps are always at the front dieing before they can achieve anything then the one¡¯s who manage to kill the prey level up and become the new vanguard. It is a vicious cycle of stupidity and ensures that the imp race will never prosper.
¡®Because you have a higher chance of survival and reaching a higher level I''ll explain some things for when you prepare to evolve. First there are two kinds of evolutions for monsters. The first is going closer to a humanoid form and then the second is a form closer to that of a beast. Humanoid forms will allow a wider variety of combat choices but your physical ability will not be the same as other monsters.¡¯ [Adelinda]
¡®A beast however will have great physical abilities and is generally very strong. Then there are other choices within those as well like becoming another race entirely or becoming a higher class to your race. But changing race is more of a matter of how one was bread. Goblins have so many choices because long ago they had a great king who went and mated with any war slave he could find making the goblin race very diverse in what they could become.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Considering that those are my choices I guess I''ll have to go with becoming a higher class if I can. And I''ll stick with the humanoid choice because it would feel the most natural. Now for a month of intense training to prepare me for combat. Still though I''m missing my crucial bow for my archery skill.

My travel to a new game world Side Story Steve

A week ago I was summoned to this world by a group of cultist looking people. They then cast various spells on me and lead me to a chamber with a gorgeous woman waiting there. She was the queen of the Aston kingdom that summoned me.
The spells were apparently to teach me the language and other various things. They also tried to enslave me but it had no effect. This was something I only found out later when I overheard one of the magicians talking to a maid. Various things were explained to me by an old man who was known as the great Sage.
This game has a game like system ruled by the gods but because this is reall life and not a game there is no Hp and Mp bars. Apparently I was summoned because the demon king will rise in the not too distant future.
The kingdom decided that instead of waiting for something bad to happen and then summon a hero they should summon one first and prepare. This actually made some sense and I would have gladly played along if the queen hadn¡¯t tried to enslave me.
Luckily I was granted various ¡°hero buffs¡± when I was summoned. By the way my status looks like this.

The job of hero is supposed to be a fairly high level job that can¡¯t be attained and on can only be born with it or be summoned and again it. Because of the high level job I have I gained various buffs and have stats that are beyond my level from what I''m told.
It also seems possible to evolve my job to great hero and then true hero depending on my level and deeds. well I guess I''ll try and have fun with this since it seems I''m a bit OP in this world. I should be fine as long as I stick to steadily growing. Then when I have a reasonable amount of strength I should be able to leave the kingdom and create some kind of harem. I wonder if elves and beast people are a thing here.
Though I would like to get my hands on the queen, after all she is just that beautiful and has yet to marry meaning I could have a chance. Thinking about it wouldn¡¯t the best way to build a harem be to be king. But then again I don¡¯t really feel like fighting a demon king or dealing with political problems. Well anyway I should have fun with this while I can and learn all the spells that are possible from the old sage.
Because the holy magic system mainly comprises of buffs and heals with few attack spells I should learn another system like fire magic that has the highest attack power.
And something for close quarter combat, for that I guess I''ll make use of my ridicules stats and go with a heavy armored knight with a tower shield and a great sword. After conveying my wishes to the queen she had a knight teach me how to fight with a sword and shield. It''s not that difficult to get the basics down.
For the shield all you have to do is block at an angle away from your body to create an opening on the opponent and then either stab or chop. Though I thought I would be learning a cooler style, Knights seem to prioritize practicality and efficiency. For the next month I did nothing but study and work on my shield and sword skills.
I would also be told to wear heavy armor occasionally to get use to it. Sadly no events happened where I accidentally saw the queen naked, truly a pity. Incidentally I asked the sage why the queen hadn¡¯t married and he told me that she was always too focused on politics and keeping corrupt nobles from the throne.
Though I feel she herself isn¡¯t all that good considering she ordered the magicians to try and enslave me. And now that I had a month of practice I was given a good set of equipment and told that I would be going to a nearby forest at the outskirts of the capital to fight goblins and horned rabbits.
These weren¡¯t the only things in that forest but because I was going to stay on the outskirts I was told that it would be the only thing I would see. Going with me were the royal prince (queen¡¯s younger brother) and a troop or royal guards. The queen is actually about twenty and her brother is the same age as be sixteen.
¡°Subject tell me about your world.¡± [Prince]
And he is undoubtedly really annoying as he thinks he is above everyone. I''m glad he. Isn¡¯t the king, the kingdom gives the throne to the first born regardless of gender meaning if someone really wanted to take the throne you would need to dispose of the older ones.
¡°First I''m not your subject. I''ve said this before but I''m helping due to convenience and because the great sage is a nice person. Also I have no loyalty or reason to stay in this kingdom.¡± [Steve]
Most of the soldiers look at me with hostility because I give no face to their royalty but I could care less. They can only use the hero summon once every hundred years and I''m what they got. A hero isn¡¯t one hundred percent necessary but it¡¯s said that the true hero title is the only thing with enough stat points to match the demon king. The demon king isn¡¯t really what it sounds like either.
There are definitely demons in this world and they hold hostility towards humans the same way humans hold hostility towards them but the demon king is more like the king of monsters. After all between humans and demons it ends at the level of open hostility there are even multiple cities that welcome both. Problems only start when either a demon or human goes to deep into the other¡¯s territory.
The demon king is said to be a demon with a deep hatred towards humans that can control legions of monsters and demons. It¡¯s said that four hundred years ago a hero was summoned and was able to defeat the demon king after he and his companions fought through the demon king¡¯s army. But I don¡¯t have to worry about that for now as the demon king should not rise for another two years or so.
That gives me plenty of time to gain another title and raise my stats. Ahh actually I wonder how Enrique is doing, he should be playing that new vrmmorpg. Knowing him he got it early and did something dumb to ruin the game like choosing a fish or slime as his first character.

I''m surprised how well he learned to use a bow before I was summoned. I mean I did some sword training before too but it was fairly low level stuff and a bow is a much harder thing to just pick up and use.
Maybe he has a talent for those kinds of things. While thinking about those things I had ignored the prince who was ranting about how I owed the kingdom something for summoning me. Because I don¡¯t agree with him and frankly don¡¯t care I won¡¯t listen. It took an hour but we reached the outskirts of the forest.

Like that I left and began hunting while wearing my equipment. If you really think about it this is practically playing on easy mode because neither horned rabbits or goblins can pierce my armor or have enough strength to resist even a shield bash from my tower shield.
It took no time to find a group of goblins holding various weapons. Wait is this really okay? I mean we¡¯re like an hour¡¯s walk from the capital and I can find monsters so easily. Well let¡¯s not dwell on things unrelated to me.
¡°Haha you goblins stink. Have at thee!¡± [Steve]
While I''m at this I might as well have some fun. Because of their superior numbers the goblins felt confident and ran at me. There were seven of them, the first one to reach me was holding a rusted axe. He swung down with some force but my thirty strength and endurance isn¡¯t just for show, I stopped the axe with my tower shield, forgetting to parry, and stabbed the monster in the chest with my sword. With that it was one down.
Next I tried the shield art shield bash. Arts work similar to spells and can be activated in two ways. The first is my moving mana into whatever action you with to do and pro forming the art. And the second is by using what is known as fighting spirit, this consumes your stamina but is slightly stronger than using an art with mana.
I use the art with fighting spirit because my endurance stat is much higher than my mana and I would like to save that in case I need to use a buff or healing spell. In an easy manner I continued to fight the goblins one by one.
When there were only three left the ran away and I didn¡¯t give chase because I somehow became mentally exhausted. This was my first time killing anything but it¡¯s not so bad when you think about the fact that it¡¯s a goblin know for capturing and defining women until their mind and souls are broken.
Actually when I think about it like that I feel rather sad that I let thee ge away. After wandering around for an hour I had killed more than fourteen goblins and they ran away from me as soon as I was within sight.
It¡¯s most likely because of the blood that''s covering most of my equipment. I mean I would feel like running too if I saw someone drenched in the blood of my people. This is also the reason that horned rabbits run before I can get a good look at them, once I saw one sniffing the air then it took off as fast as it could. Incidentally I don¡¯t think I''m capable of killing one as they look like adorable little creatures about a 2 feet in length with unicorn horns.
Having nothing else to do because the goblins run away I returned to the small campsite that the top had set up. Once I conveyed my story to the troop they looked agitated and sent a scout to confirm that I had indeed killed fourteen goblins and even allowed some to run away. Because of this I was set back to the castle and told to report what happened to the queen.
After the report was finished, with me standing tall instead of kneeling, the queen had a dark expression on her face. Apparently the last demon king was a goblin and the increase in goblins could mean something is coming. From what she told me, I should have only run into a few horned rabbits and maybe a wolf if I was lucky but goblins were just on the list of things because every three months or so one would wander too close to the capital.
Instead I found more than fourteen. Ahh seeing her distressed face is nice. I wonder if I''m that sadistic or if it¡¯s just because I sort of dislike her for trying to enslave me. The next day I finally got the even I had been waiting for. Because a maid instructed me to meet the queen before breakfast I left to see her. Because it was an emergency meeting I hurried, and with my agility stat I can run fairly fast.
The queen before breakfast would take a bath, this is something I had known also the reason why I hurried. It was presumed that it would take me at least ten minutes to walk to the queen¡¯s chambers giving her more than enough time to get dressed if it was only a robe.
But because I ran at full speed I was there in less than a minute. The guards were also to slow to stop me from entering. And then there it was the fully exposed body of the queen. Now normally this would mean I would be killed for disrespecting the monarch. But we had a little talk.
¡°So this was totally on purpose and I have no regrets but¡ Light or healing bless those with your light and may they sleep and recover. Healing sleep.¡± [Steve]
With a light spell and two unprepared guards I was able to get some alone time with the queen.
¡°Now don¡¯t be worried I won¡¯t do anything. I''m just here to propose a little deal while getting to see something nice. So here¡¯s my deal. I forget that you tried to enslave me and stick around in your kingdom. And you make me your consort Prince, I don¡¯t want to deal with anything political but I also don¡¯t want to have no standing.¡± [Steve]
While I was talking the queen covered up and glared at me. She should in theory be able to overpower me as she reached level ten but my stats are a bit op so even as a level two which I gained from killing goblins I am still by far stronger.
¡°Just think about it, you keep your power and I¡¯m free from people attempting to make me into a political pawn. And think when or if the demon king raises your kingdom will be at the top of the world''s political power as long as I''m around. So let¡¯s say. Leave and offer the same deal to a small kingdom and they agree then become the new Aston. I mean your kingdom is only so big because you had the previous hero¡ Right?¡± [Steve]
Well I never said I was a good guy and she started this by trying to enslave me, I''m not such a softhearted person that I would allow further attempts.
¡°So you knew about the slave magic? Sigh¡ Well your deal isn¡¯t bad and your threat is dead on. Fine, you can have your deal as long as I keep control of my kingdom.¡± [Queen Alissa]
¡°Okay then. I learned a good trick to make sure both of us are assured of the other¡¯s sincerity, it''s a nifty skill called holy agreement. If either one of us breakers the agreement without voiding it will turn into a slave contract. It¡¯s also something even I can¡¯t avoid. Your library sure has some nice things.¡± [Steve]
With that the queen and I made several adjustments to the contract in order to avoid loopholes and having one cheat the other. And I became king of a kingdom while not having any political power. Well or so the queen thinks. Having cheats gives you a wonderful feeling.
Chapter 5: Moving from the rabbits to something more mentally healthy
After a month of practicing both my magic and whip skills I was able to raise my skill levels a fair amount and even learned the whip art heavy strike. Because I lack a bit on the endurance front and can''t really use it to many times unless I supplement it with mana I''ve decided not to put too much stock into it.
What surprised me however is Null, it practiced the whip skill relentlessly and brought up it¡¯s grow and whip skill a fair amount. I was also told that skills will raise all the way to level fifty before reaching the Max. state and at that point it¡¯s either the end of it or it can be evolved into a greater skill.
That however takes the interference of the gods and a bit of knowledge pertaining to the skill is given to you. It seems most people consider it a type of blessing for having devoted yourself to something. I still find it kinda weird that the gods can just implant knowledge and other various things into my head but I have no choice but to let it go. After all leveling up is also considered a blessing from the gods. Null¡¯s and my new statuses look like this.

I¡¯ve gone up a fair bit but Null¡¯s improvement is kinda scary. I¡¯ve also found out that it has rooted itself pretty deeply in my shadow. That¡¯s why the shadow planting skill is rising steadily. And because it takes nutrients from my shadow (therefor me) as long as I eat more I don¡¯t have to worry about maintaining it And it goes everywhere I go.
With all of my preparations done it¡¯s time for my first battle. Because of that Adelinda once more lead me out of the cave. for some reason Adelina''s presence thinned as we moved further. At some point it was so thin that I thought I was alone a couple of times.
¡®Child, that is the weakest creature we will find. Remember to judge it correctly then kill it to gain exp and level up.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Looking in the direction that she pointed I saw a horrid rabbit looking creature with a killer horn on it¡¯s head. Truthfully it would look adorable in all kinds of ways if I didn¡¯t think it would kill me or try as soon as it saw me. And it''s body length is only a little less than my height. I hope rabbits in this world are at least four feet tall because if they aren¡¯t then I''m really short. ¡®Identify¡¯

So it¡¯s more or less what I expected. This will be difficult but it¡¯s something I have to do. First I cast all three buffs that I knew arm strengthening, speed boost, and defensive boost. Because of my hard work I''m now able to hold the three spells for two minutes. Charging head first with my whip in hand and Null at my back ready to strike I began my assault.
The rabbit had good reflexes and managed to dodge my first strike and I kinda panicked making my second strike slower but I managed to hit it in the foot slowing it down. The reason it charged at me is because it thinks I''m alone and weak. It was right that I was weak but I was not alone.
When it was only twelve paces from me Null began its own attack. Because I needed the exp I told it to trap its prey rather than use the whip strikes. When it was caught it struggled with all it had and ripped apart Null more than a couple of times but Null had the fast grow skill and wrapped it more and more until it could no longer move.
With this it''s my victory. Using heavy strike at full power twice on its neck it breathed it last breath. It¡¯s kinda sad but I wasn¡¯t going to let it kill me. But thinking about it isn¡¯t Null a little OP completely stopping an opponent with a higher level and better stats. Well it just goes to show that skills are important.
Especially the ones that make you as tenacious as that, like fast growth. I''ve also noticed that it¡¯s more or less impossible to kill Null now unless you''re adept in shadow magic because it¡¯s rooted itself in my shadow. The way to kill a malicious weed is to destroy the roots, so Null will be fine as long as I''m careful. Following that Adelinda lead me to three more and I repeated the process until I could no longer use heavy strike or my buff spells.

Because of my request we found five more horned rabbits and I just angered them while Null finished them. The first one was rather interesting and a bit scary. When Null had it completely wrapped up I instructed it to squeeze the neck area and finish it quickly. But then that''s when the scary part happened, Null killed it then pulled the corps into my shadow. It¡¯s said that normal malice weeds will trap prey until it dies of hunger or thirst then pull them into the ground to use as nutrients.
But Null is planted in my shadow and gets most of it¡¯s nutrients from me. By the way I''ve never unsummoned it nor do I plan to as it makes me feel safer. I then realized how frightening a place my shadow had become. After it had done so five times Adelinda took us back to the cave and instructed me to check my status and Null¡¯s.

But I see a big problem, even with the level up Null only gained one status point. That has to be a lie somehow right? I mean if it¡¯s one point a level I really will never catch up to other monsters or be able to live with some confidence.
After a light panic I asked Adelinda, apparently from level one to level ten only one point is given from eleven to twenty three points are given and like that what you get steadily increases. Because
I''m Nulls master I have the ability to choose where the stat point goes. For now I should move everything into strength, that way it can hold enemies down with greater ease. Also because Null is a malice weed it''s likely that it will evolve at level ten. I''m not really sure what it can become and Adelinda said that she¡¯s seen various plant monsters so any of them are a possible choice.
In this way reaching level ten shouldn¡¯t be a huge problem the only thing is that I have yet to receive a bow. I would make one similar to the whip but bows are more complicated so I don¡¯t have the confidence to make one, there¡¯s also the issue of having arrows. The last part is that I don¡¯t know what my hight is. That¡¯s actually really important because bows vary in strength depending draw length and draw weight.
That¡¯s why a toy bow doesn¡¯t really work, it¡¯s something meant for children so those aren¡¯t thing that work. From what I can tell I''m as big as a rabbit from this world, meaning that a bow I can handle with my little strength isn¡¯t really going to work out very well. But for now I''ll continue to ignore the fact that I can''t use my main weapon.
The whip is nice and fun to use but I''m trying to survive and not yet at the level when I can think about thriving. If I had to be honest I chose it do to the fact that it seemed cool while thinking that I was safe having Adelinda around but now that I know she¡¯s going to leave in a while I''m reevaluating that choice. But still I have no way of obtaining any weapons so the flexible whip made from Null works fairly well.
Continuing that Adelinda took us out to fight every day and in just a week I had reached level three and Null reached level five. It works much harder than me and with everything going straight to the strength stat I''m hoping it becomes a bit more aggressive. Later I¡¯ll add more to its endurance and intelligence.
I know Adelinda told me that it didn¡¯t have a direct effect of how smart someone is and it wasn¡¯t a perfect representation but it would be good to know that it had some intelligence. After all it¡¯s becoming my trusted last line of defence. So far any horned rabbit that gets near me has been trapped without fail.
And its whip skill has risen to a scary level, if I didn¡¯t know that it had no real thoughts and followed only its instinct and my orders I would think that it''s quite the sadistic creature. Now that I''ve reached level three we decided to move on to new opponents, goblins. Goblins are the staple RPG monster and from what I heard the general info on them is the same as what I know.
They are a dirty group of rapist and all around evil creatures. If I fight them I don¡¯t have to force myself to think of them as evil things unlike with the horned rabbits that I tortured to death. Sometimes I shudder at the fact that Null managed to whip one to death and mostly avoided any quick fatal blow.
Still that dark time has passed, killing those things was necessary. I would also contract one but I can¡¯t see it being all that useful, maybe as a mount but taking care of it would be a problem. Now I was heading to fight my first humanoid opponent. This might actually bother some people but I have no problem with it as it should be a lot easier on me mentally than killing the fluffy rabbits. After walking for an hour I finally saw it.
The goblin was your typical green skinned monster and if the information I had previously is correct then they are rather short make comparable to human children. It¡¯s quite the saddening realization, I''m maybe half its height. If that thing is about four feet or so then I''m about two feet in height. This makes me want to cry.
Regardless one lone goblin shouldn¡¯t be a problem for null. The only bro let that I still have is that Null¡¯s main visible body is only one blade of grass. So it can only fight one opponent at a time. Luckily there is also only one opponent. Knowing this I have already worked out a strategy, first I cast all support spells on Null.
Then I get the goblin¡¯s attention, once it charged at me it was caught by Null. It struggled but due to Null¡¯s superior strength and my support spells it was caught without much of a problem. The goblin was level five and should give me a decent amount of exp. when leveling using the poor rabbits they had given more exp at the start but when I caught up to their level I received less exp. at level three I need forty exp points but was getting only one for every horned rabbit now with the goblin I should get more.
Without minding the fear filled look of the goblin I used my whip to continually strike it''s neck, then Null took its corps into my shadow. It¡¯s joined the many rabbits in that scary place. With that same strategy I killed five more goblins and Null killed ten and learned a frightening new art. With this it¡¯s official it¡¯s becoming an OP existence.
This is one of those things where you find something you think is week then ends up weirdly strong. Well at least in binding opponents Null is excellent. The new art it learned it related to the fast growth skill it has. I had thought about it earlier but Null is just a blade of grass and when you think weed it¡¯s something that grows everywhere.
And just as Null¡¯s Fast growth reached level fifteen it is now able to send out five blades of grass. With this I should be able to go into groups of goblins and level much faster. I''m hoping I can evolve into something good. At the end of the day my status and Nulls looked like this.

Chapter 6: name and blessing
Waking up I followed my new daily routine of eating raw meat and practicing my whip skill before heading out with Adelinda and fighting groups of goblins. Due to Null learning to produce more than one blade of grass that can attack enemies it became easier to search for prey according to my dragon teacher.
Although we seem to find then at the same pace as before. And after ten days of steadily killing things I''ve reached level seven while Null reached level nine and is only one step away from Its first evolution. But the problem is that with each level the exp gained from various goblins lowers while the requirement for leveling up increases.
At this point Null and I should be capable of surviving in the level ten area that we¡¯re currently in. Well it¡¯s mostly due to the fact that null has become really scary. And the inside of my shadow is like some kind of bottomless pit. Still at the rate we¡¯re going I should be able to reach level ten in a couple of weeks then I plan to head to a city.
By the way I''ve put every stat point I get into intelligence, I don¡¯t really know if that¡¯s a good idea or not but it¡¯s helped so far. With more mana I can use heavy strike more often and keep my spells for longer periods of time.
¡®Child do you plan to keep that malice weed with you?¡¯ [Adelinda]
Ahh, I know why she¡¯s asking this. Originally the malice weed, Null, was just going to be contracted for practice but now that it¡¯s been with me I¡¯ve grown attached and almost never have it go to my summoner¡¯s space. And I have it that way for good reason, Null is ridiculously strong and having it always in my shadow makes me feel safe.
The reason for this isn¡¯t that it has surprisingly high stats, the reason is the fast growth skill. That combined with the fact that it¡¯s planted in my shadow makes it hard to kill by normal means. Adelinda also understands this and knows that I can no longer think of it as just something to practice with for a while then throw away or sacrifice in some petty battle.
¡°Yes, I intend to keep it with me and nurture it.¡± [Enrique]
Adelinda had a contemplative look for a while, which is really hard to tell on a dragon but after some practice I am now able to read her facial expressions.
¡®Okay good child. Now before it reaches level ten I will bestow upon you a gift, a name. Normally names are given to subordinates but I shall name you as if you were one of my own granting you power without placing restrictions. Now your name shall be¡ Enra Pitkis. Yes that should be fine, and that old man should be fine with it too.¡¯ [Adelinda]
As she finished speaking the light around me faded and everything went dark. I didn¡¯t faint instead my surroundings instantly went dark. And I felt a slight change in my body. After checking my status menu I found that I had become a named monster and had a plus two rais to all my stats. The name is a little weird but I''m not going to complain after getting this with practically no strings attached. Looking at my skills I even have a new one.

Hmm seems like I can now turn inanimate objects I touch into shadows. That has some potential to be useful but I can''t really think of anything for now, maybe in stealing things? Also it seems there was already a monster named Pitkis and he somehow gave me his blessing.

Now as I have named you as one of my own you have the right to name monsters as well, but this is limited to two monsters, so use this wisely. Well she did name me as if I were her child but calling her mother would be a bit odd so I''ll go with teacher.

¡®Hmm as you were just named you should have more strength and it should be possible for you to survive the outskirts of the cave with the malice weed¡¯s help. Today go out on your own around this area and be careful not to die.¡¯ [Adelinda]
Noooo! The time finally came for me to go out on my own, from what I know the monsters around here should reach level ten and finding something that matches my level will be difficult but it should still be possible.
Because of all the goblins I''ve killed together with Null I don¡¯t exactly panic anymore but the fear of dieing is ever present. Because of that I left the cave slowly and with caution. There were no monsters right outside the cave but in the forest just ahead there should be.
Normally we don¡¯t run into them because of teacher but now that I''m alone things should be different. Walking cautiously for a couple of minutes I spotted a large black and red spider. Because there was no way I would fight it I turned my head the other way and began my search for another foe. The spider specializes in capturing its prey in a similar way that Null does. And if we¡¯re talking about levels, states, or skills the spider wins.
With a long distance web it can trump my best defence which is Null. For now I need to find a creature that will recklessly charge at me. Looking around some more I spotted three gray wolves.
Each one reached level nine and their stats were much higher than mine but that''s fine. After all a wolf would need to bite or claw at me meaning that Null should be able to protect me. Ahh if only I had a bow then this would be a great opportunity to use it. Well no matter, forgetting things that had no way of being helped I began to cast support spells on Null.
Lately my support spells have gotten quite good and can be cast at little cost, I just wish I had other spells with stronger effects but a plus five to all physical stats can be considered quite good so I have nothing to complain about.
Because of the spells I cast the wolves quickly noticed me however Null was already quietly spreading itself around using the grass as cover. When the wolves were close enough it sprang the trap and began to entangle them using its various blades of grass to grasp onto the wolves. However the wolves wouldn¡¯t give up without a fight and began to tear at Null with their claws and fangs.
They also seemed to have noticed that I was the cause of this and aimed to finish me as soon as possible. Because I couldn¡¯t just sit there doing nothing I brandished my whip and began striking at the leading wolf despite my efforts however all I could do was become a minor inconvenience. Not giving up however I began to aim at their eyes as that would damage any creature. Despite that however these things were ferocious and continued to tear through Null and advance steadily towards me.
Seeing that I wasn¡¯t having an effect and the wolves were drawing closer I back peddled and created some distance while they continued to struggle. Thinking that this would turn into a battle of attrition soon I cast the three support spells on myself and used heavy strike twice as fast as possible which the whip.
One of the hits landed on the nose of the leading wolf and the other landed on the eye of one of the other two. Because of the pain the two wolves stopped and gave Null an opportunity to fully entangle them. The third one however was still going strong and wouldn¡¯t let up. Seeing that its two fellow wolves were captured it escaped after a fierce struggle.
Thinking back on the fight I should have added more stats to Nulls endurance instead of putting everything on strength. I was never a top gamer so thinking far ahead was never a plan instead I just thought about the moment and got carried away and put everything into one stat, that might have been a mistake.

Because there are two wolves I killed one by repeatedly striking at its neck and Null choked one to death. Both bodies were once again taken into my shadow. Looking at my status I seemed to have gained a lot of exp. at level five I need quite a lot and it was difficult to get there by just killing goblins.
Null was capable of doing so because killing a group of seven became easy but because my strikes are relatively weak and I run out of methods to kill one after running out of mana I was limited to the number I could hunt. This is where a sharp object would help a lot.
A spear might be nice, it has some distance and a sharp end. But he had to work with what he had, and he did not have a sharp spear or anything that would allow him to kill without having to spend mana.
¡°Null, wait I''ve been given the power to give you a proper name now. Then I Enra Pitkis name you Null.¡± [Enra]
Null also had a slight power up gaining one stat point in each stat but didn¡¯t gain any skills or have anything flashy like being enveloped in darkness happen. Still anything helps. Following that we went around looking for more wolves but we only found a pack of seven and I determined that going against them would be suicide. There was also a wild boar but it had reached level fifteen and had stats that would tear right through Null and kill me instantly, I should go back to hunting horned rabbits.
¡°Ahhh if only I had something sharp then this wouldn¡¯t be so complicated.¡± [Enra]
When I said that Null began to rustle and out of my shadow came a horn oddly resembling that of a horned rabbit.
¡°Wait you didn¡¯t eat those things already?¡± [Enra]
Well it doesn¡¯t answer me but it seemed to sway side to side saying no. Hmm this could help save mana when finishing off an opponent but this still means we have to find a good one and without Teacher¡¯s help it isn¡¯t quite so simple.
On my way back I once again spotted the spider and after checking its status I determined that with a sneak attack it should be possible to win casting shadow cloak on myself I kept to the ground and got close enough were Null could begin to spread its blades. Hopefully it doesn¡¯t notice the incoming strike. As Null got closer to the spider its presence was noticed.

With nothing left to do but go on the assault I had Null attack, the spider should be able to rip Null apart in a similar form that the wolves did but with only one spider we should be able to take it down. Unfortunately I had underestimated the creature called Dark spider and the skill known as poison magic.
I had thought that the spider would need time or release something from its fangs but it''s body began to secret poison that killed all of Nulls blades. Seeing that this attempt had failed the only choice was to cast every support spell and run.
But I didn¡¯t get far as the spider shot its thread and caught my leg. Having fallen the spider came to me slowly, its body continuously releasing poison and stopping any attempt from Null to stop it. Ahh I''m probably going to die now, but not without a fight, though this is why I wanted a bow to be a rear guard. With the horned rabbits horn in hand I was prepared to give it one swing to at least take out an eye before dieing.
¡®Ohh young thing I gave you something good and you don¡¯t use it, come now shadows go through anything. Let it fall through.¡¯ [???]
As if possessed I swung down my arm while using my new skill. The horn in my hands turned into an incorporeal shadow and I could no longer hold it but it still had some momentum and made its way to the spider. Then when the shod of disappeared into the spider''s head it collapsed on the floor no longer moving.
Not knowing what happened Null took in the spider and I made my way back to the cave. in the cave I checked my status. I had leveled up from killing the spider but didn¡¯t really understand what happened.
Wait the shadow went and entered the spider then it died. Could the shadow horn have killed the spider? No the shadow was incorporeal and can¡¯t damage anything, but what it it became a regular object inside the spider? Doesn¡¯t that mean I just got a crazy skill? This is something that should be tested.

(Authors note: so I''m going to say this but I''ve never been good ad stat distribution in any games and have always focused on one thing when I play RPGs. Sometimes I''ll be a great tank with no power and sometimes I''ll be the kind of person who kills all in one hit but dies in one too. So having said that my charecter will overcome my gaming flaws. Not a chapter
So for this and next week I''ll be puting up chapters when I can I''ll try to get out at least two a week. I have various real life things popping us. So for the remainder of this week and next week there will likly only be two chapters.
