 Chapter 1 - Reborn

    I(Shin Kazuma)got together with my coworkers, to go drinking, when it was already getting late i decided that i should head home now so i told my coworkers that im heading first cause its already getting late, at first they were reluctant to let me leave so i just told them that "we still have work tomorrow and i need to get up early" when i said that they finally let me go but not before i told them that they should head home too after that i finally left.


    While on the way, I heard a shout in front of me, there i saw a  guy snatching a purse from a lady and that guys is heading towards my direction and when he past by me my instinct got the better of me, so started  chasing after the him after some goose chase he led me towards a dark alley but i still went after him but when were finally away from other people the thief suddenly turned around and started rushing to wards me while saying" you shouldnt meddle with other people''s business, DIE!" there i saw him holding a knife and he''s pointing it towards my abdomen, i wanted to dodge but i couldnt i was too tired from this goose chase, so the guy manage to stab me..then he pulled it out while he started to left not before saying to me"blame yourself for being to nosy" then he ran away and finally dissappeared from my sight.

    As i look down at my wound, it was flowing with blood then a sudden dizziness came to me while my vision started to darken but before i succumb to darkness i still manage to faintly say"Heh, so this is how I die huh" then i finally went blank.


    But my story doesnt end here its just the beginning......


    It seems i got reborn, I thought it was only some stupid fantasy but how do i know that i got reborn and didn¡¯t went to the yellow springs? Well, when i opened my surprisingly heavy eyelids there i saw, looking at me, was some kind of an animal probably a dog or something, thats what told me i had been reborn. Ahh, I suddenly felt sleepy. So much has happened. Lets leave this for tomorrow but before i fell asleep i heard it say "hmm..this one will be named Rin"

 Chapter 2

    Today i woke up because i suddenly felt hungry, so i tried to look for my mother, at first i really dont know what to do but i suddenly smelled something which gives off a sweet smell so i followed it. On my way there, i stumbled a lot because it really is hard walking on all fours especially if you''re a newborn but finally i manage to reach it which felt like years. I hesitated at first because im going to suck my mothers nipple which troubled me especially that she''s a wolf. After contemplating a bit "screw it!" i said to myself and i begun drinking her milk. Surprisingly, it was sweet and delicious.


    While i was enjoying it, I heard a female voice talking to me, she said "there, there, slow down there''s still a lot where that came from" when i heard that voice i thought it was human like but if you were in my shoes you''ll only hear growling sounds but i think this is being translated so that i can understand it.


    I tried to look up to her and i said "Hello" which probably startled her because i felt her body shiver and she said "You are still young but you can already understand me and even talk, you''re an odd one" when i heard her say that, i know I made a blunder but i just shrugged it off because its already been done.


    After I was done, i started talking to my mother about a lot of things, I found out the names of my siblings are Inle and Hina. Inle is the oldest while im the youngest amongst the three of us.


    As we were immerse in our conversation, I didn¡¯t notice myself falling asleep.


    After I¡¯ve woken up, I didnt know what happened after the talk with my mother, so when i''ve woken up i saw my brother and sister cuddling on me which i find great as I could feel their soft fur and only then did i realized that were in some kind of cave. When i tried looking around, it was a bit dark so i assumed that its already nightfall. Then this happened.

    "Whoa!" I unconsciously shouted but of course i just probably let out a whining sound which i didn¡¯t mind and not a bit later...

    When this Blue Screen first appeared, i did¡¯nt have a clue at first but when it said that i acquired my Status Window. I finally got the gist of what¡¯s happening, just as it said, The Status Window is some kind of Information Window detailing mostly about me, i know that its weird for something like this to appear but i''ve read fantasy books like this before when i was still back on Earth, about something like a person being reincarnated just like me or like a group of people suddenly being transported to another world and then they gain things like Statuses or some kind of Cheat Abilities. So i was¡¯nt really surprised but im frantically happy instead because it practically increased the percentage of my survival in this world, as i was so excited i tried opening my Status by saying "Status¡± then nothing happened, because i failed at my first try. I tried thinking about the Books i''ve read before and after a while i remembered it "So it was like that huh" i said in a low voice, then i tried to open it again just like how i remembered it but this time im going to think "Status" on my mind¡­

    "It finally worked!" i shouted to myself and it seems levels really does exist, I thought mother was just making fun of me yesterday so i did¡¯nt dare believe her but now it seems quite true. Levels are basically a measurement of an individual''s strength and its seems the max level is 100 like mother told me. Mother said that when we reach level 100 we can Rank Up to a higher species. If we Rank Up, we''ll gain specific abilities of that Race we evolved into and just when Im in deep thoughts i noticed someone walking up to me at first i was scared silly because i thought ill probably get eaten and die again which made me feel a bit sad but when it came nearer i finally recognized who it was, it was only my mother.


    As she came near, she said "you''ve woken up" while rubbing her head against mine which i did''nt resist because her fur is really soft and smooth, i answered "yes" after i said that she lied down then i went to the very first nip-*cough*ple because its where the milk taste the best. As i was drinking my fill i noticed that my mother was asleep and i also suddenly felt sleepy but because i still wanted to check out our place i tried keeping myself awake but as I tried to resist it, my eyes still betrayed me and I finally went into slumber.

 Chapter 3

    A week has already passed that i''ve been into this world, in those past few days i just did what a cub is supposed to do, drinking milk and sleeping while sometimes mother would talk to me and i also learned that her name is Mir but i learned something which really shocked me the most because Mir whom i treated as our Mother wasnt actually who she was but she is actually our Aunt, because Mir thinks of me as an ood one as of how fast i learn and grow which i practically understand and because of that she told me the story of how she ended up taking care of us.


    The story actually goes like this, it was when our real mother was almost ready to give birth to us that she stayed at the den because she can¡¯t go with the pack in their hunt, only her,2  den guards along with another female wolf like our mother was left alone back at the den, not long after the group of wolves along with our father went out to hunt that another pack of Grey Wolves numbering 6 appeared at our den, so when they appeared, mother along with the other 3went to confront them, so the enemy practically was sent here to our den to seize it, so w/o further ado it broke into a fight because mother was the strongest out of the four. She had tofight 3 of them even though she was pregnant but in the end she still manage kill her enemies and went to help the others, after the brief fight all of the 6 wolves died and the 2 den guards while our mother sustained heavy injuries and luckily the other female didnt suffer that much. Our mother who suffered heavy injuries was forced to labor because she was slowly dying, luckily we were successfully brought into this world at the price of our mother''s life and not long after mother died, the pack who went out to hunt came back in a rush because they smelled the blood permeating through the air, as they reached the place they realise that the den suffered an attack and that''s also when Mir just came back from her short journey out of the Forest and she was stunned when she saw her sister lying dead on the ground. As they saw wolves not from the group they finally knew who attack them it was another group of grey wolves who''s den is only 5 miles away from us. That''s when Aunt''s suppressed anger soared and she went on a killing spree on that enemy group leaving nothing alive but what practically shocked me the most is my Aunt is actually one of the three Overlords of this Forest, this also the reason why the den was attacked thinking that Aunt left the Pack because she disappeared for a week, thats why they dared to attacked them which in turn got themselves killed instead, so you know what happened afterwards and when i asked my Aunt about her Rank, she told me that she is an A-rank wolf and her species is called the Silver Wolf an extinct species. That''s also explains why her fur glows silvery. Oh right, the other two Overlords is a Demon Bear and a White Tiger.


    Enough about that because right now im standing in front of our den along with some adult wolves, today im finally allowed to hunt, of course im not going with usual hunting party but mother will be bringing me with her and the only reason that im allowed is because my growth is too fast which even shocked me and the rest of the pack, also i still call her mother even though i know she wasnt my real mother but i was already used to calling her like that which she seems happy about it. And right now im really excited because i could finally start raising my level and probably on the way i could learn some abilities on this hunt.


    Right now there are two wolves coming out from the biggest cave on our den, one female and one male, one of them has a bit of green color on his fur whom i assume my father and also the pack leader while the other one who''s more bigger was my mother Mir who''s fur glows more silvery because of the sunlight. One more thing i forgot to mention was, even though my father who''s name is Nuir which mother told me just before this was the pack leader, Mir is practically stronger than Nuir who''s only a B-Rank monster and his species is considered only ordinary, the reason mother wasnt the leader of pack was only because she wasnt interested in leading the pack but everyone here knows that mother is far more stronger than Nuir so everyone mostly listens to her, as they finally arrived in front of us...

    "lets go, were leaving" father said to pack not even giving me a glance, i wonder why? "well if he''s like that to me then dont expect me to be polite" i muttered to myself.


    Mother smiled at me before saying "lets also go, today is your first hunt so your finally get to kill your first prey" and with that we started moving towards deep inside the forest.


    Mother brought me deeper inside, after a while we finally encountered our first prey it was a horned rabbit and its bigger than the rabbits back on earth, its size was at least 3 foot long and having a one foot long horn on its head and there''s two of them, right now were hiding in a bush.


    Mother then said to me "ill show how to hunt first, watch carefully" after that, she jumped out of the bushes which startled both rabbits and they started to flee when they saw Mir rushing towards them but it was futile Mir was too fast but what i didnt expect was that they would jump towards Mir while their horns is pointing towards her but in the end Mir dodge it with ease. Then she bite off the neck of one them, killing it and then tackled the other one on its side, Mir then looked at me and said "come here" because of how fast it happened i didnt register what she said, they didnt even last for four seconds! Only when she called me the second time that i snapped out of it and i said "ye-yes" then i went towards her then she told me "ill release this one and just do what i did and you kill it, ok?" when i heard her say that i got excited, i didnt know why im feeling like this but its probably my instinct of being a hunter, "ill try mother"after i said that i prepared myself while looking at the rabbit wriggling below my mother''s foot as a i was looking at it, i was wondering how this big rabbit cant free itself from Mir''s foot and i wondered just how much strength she''s using to keep the rabbit like that. then she said "Go" before freeing the rabbit, when i was about to pounce on it, "What the!" i cried out in shock because the rabbit was moving too fast.


    Then mother shouted at me "what are you doing!?"


    Only then that i started going after it "how did it suddenly became that fast?" i questioned myself in a low voice just as i manage to get in front of it. When it saw me blocked its way, it tried to impale me with its horn and i just dodged to the side and when it was almost the on the ground after trying to impale me, i hurriedly pounced on it while my fangs went for its neck. I only managed to kill the hornedrabbit on my second bite.

    "Whoa!Awesome!" i shouted joyfully, then a heard a voice from my side "great hunting skills" itwas my mother, as i replied to her"I learned it from you" which i think, i heard some giggles from her but i was probably hearing things.


    After that we hunted two more horned rabbits and a bear thats called a hind bear which mother killed it with ease, just what you''ve expect from an A rank, after the hunt we ate them while leaving some bear meat to be brought back for the others to eat. I also forgot to mention that mother is half as big as that of a hind bear, she can also use water magic which she used in killing the bear. At the end of the day it was an exciting hunt, my ability [Identification] became level 2 through identifying things like herbs, berries, rocks, monsters and the like.
