 Prologue the afterlife

    There are many different beliefs about the afterlife. Some belive that it''s a cloud filled heaven where people can enjoy themselves for eternity, or firey hell for those who have sinned, where they endure torture for eterinity. The truth is that the afterlife looks like a first class hotel except,  there is a large river in the looby. Around this river are golden colored souls.


    At the reception desk there is a golden soul waiting for someone to explain what is going on. Behind this soul is a line of souls all wanting to know what''s going on. At this moment and old man walked behind the reception desk. This old man had grey hair and gray beard, he was thinking and used a walking cane. His appearance suggested that he was a feeble old man but it was something about him that made the souls have an unexplained fear him. The man then began speaking " listen up, my name is Robert Cross and if any of you interrupt me while I''m speaking I''ll shatter your soul. " All the souls absolutely believed that this old man would kill them if they speak, so they all immediately stopped speaking. Robert seeing all the souls become quiet continued " good , now all of you will spend one year in the afterlife while strengthening your souls. Any questions ? Soon as he finished there was a flurry of questions being asked. The old man noticing get this said " speak in the order your lined up or else." Then all of the souls began asking how they died and why they aren''t in heaven for those religious people. The old man told all those who asked about those things to wait and he''ll answer these two questions at the end. After all of the souls have gotten a chance to ask their questions the old man then spoke once again. " I don''t know how any of you died and to tell the truth is don''t care. For those people who are wondering why they aren''t in heaven, there is still a chance to go there so don''t be discouaged. Now is that all the questions, if not then I''ll move on to placing each of you in your rooms." All the souls were quiet without anything to say, just pondering over their deaths and regrets they had in their lives, we''ll all except a few, one of which was the first soul in line. This soul was formerly known as Drew Davis, a young man who lived in modern day America. While he was alive he loved to read light novels so in this situation he had a few ideas about what was going on and what he needed to do. The first thing Drew decided he needed was the answer to a question he had. " Why do we have to strengthen our soul."

 Chapter 1

    All of the other souls hearing this started to ponder over this as well. Why would they need to strengthen their souls in the afterlife and why only one year. Drew had a few ideas why, but he wasn''t going to say some of them out loud, as they were crazy. His most plausible idea though was one he thought he had to ask " are we reincarnating". The old man hearing this responded " Yes you all will be reincarnating in one year, and as for why you need to strengthen your soul that''s because of the river located in the lobby. That river is the river of reincarnation, and it will destroy your souls when you jump inside. After one year all of you will jump insinde."


    All of the souls started clamoring when they heard that they will have to jump in that disastrous river. The old man seeing this muttered to himself " everytime". He then lifted his cane and hit the ground. The moment he did this, the soul that started the clamoring earlier crumbled into countless tiny pieces. " I told you not to interrupt me." Shivering is all these poor souls could do at the frightening realization that this old man could so easily shatter them. Just tap his cane on the floor and bang your dead.


    " The reason you have to jump in this river is to reincarnate. The longer you flow down the river the more your soul is destroyed. The moment your soul enters the river the memories of your soul will be destroyed, so none of you will remember anything from this life. Also the lesser world''s are located at the end of the river. So the longer you flow the lower the world you''ll be reincarnated into. The lower worlds don''t have as much energy in them so becoming strong is much more difficult in these worlds". He then gave everyone a moment to digest all of the information they were given today.

    At this moment Drew was thinking hard about what to do.'' How do I keep my memories. In all of the reincarnation stories, the Mc gets a huge advantage from keeping his memories. Damn this river, I don''t believe  nobody has ever kept there memories. There has to be a way. Hmm I should ask that psycho old man has anyone kept there memories''. " Excuse me sir, but I want to know has anyone ever kept there memories". The old man, Robert, hearing this showed an amused expression on his face and said " yes" . Hearing this gave hope to not only Drew but all the other souls there as well. Then a thought struck Drew '' how. Having said a strong soul doesn''t sound like it would save you and that''s all we know for now. I''ll have to wait and see what I can think of after I learn how to strengthen my soul''.

 Chapter 2

    At this moment Robert tapped his cane against the floor and a group of people wearing rred vests, white shirts, and black pants arrived from behind the reception desk. " These people here are the ones who will show you to your rooms and explain the basics of soul cultivation". The group of souls wwere then divided into groups of and we''re led by a vest wearing employees.


    As Drew reached his room he was excited about the idea of cultivating. He could barely stop himself from immediately ask about how to cultivate. Eventually he managed to calm himself down while they were led to thier rooms


    Once they reached thier rooms the red vest employee that led them there gave each of them a book and expired a little more about why they should strengthen their souls. When Drew''s turn to receive his room came he almost snatched the book from the employee''s hand. It took great self-discipline to stop this impulse from controlling him.


    Rushing in the room Drew immediately started reading his book. He didn''t even take time to notice what was in the room or to even take a seat. Opening the book he found the beginning was over what was already explained to him so he skipped it. Skimming through the book until he came upon the part about how to cultivate the soul Drew became attentive immediately, not daring to miss a single letter. '' Using a form of energy usually spiritual energy to slowly feed it to your soul.with the spiritual energy that is the basics of cultivating the soul. Variations of this process creates different effects on the speed of the strengthening''.
