《Dragon Gods Bride ? I think you have the wrong soul ...》 Prologue : Death It was a cold december night. A young woman not older than thirty walked out of a shady club smiling blissfully. With tears streaming down her face She had finally obtained her freedom and could finally live her life as she wished. When the woman was young, her parents abandoned her and she had to borrow a loan to finish her education. But soon after the debts increased. Back then she had a little brother. He was more than 7 years younger than her and he was the most precious think she ever had in her life. A year after their parents left he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition. It slowly got worse. The only opion to save him would be a transplant but as luck would have it he had a rare bloodtype and so the possibility for him to get a donor before his heart gave out were slim. Struggelling with medical expenses she beame so desperate that she again borrowed money. But all of that did not help her. Two years later her brother died when his heart gave out, still waiting in vain for his new heart. Her world collapsed. To forget her grieve and pain she started practising material arts with a passion not seen before. Her gym partners started being scared of her when she started sparring with them. She was ruthless. She let all of her anger lead her actions and sometimes when she had a hard day, she snapped and had to be forcefully removed from her opponent. After a few of these incidentses she was banned from her normal gym and started partisipading in underground MMA matches. There she learned to fight freestyle. To use her whole body to bring her enemy down and to use all means possible to win. In that environment she trived. Finally she could channel all her grief, pain and resentment of her past into a form of outlet. And so she became the most feared opponent of the underground. These matches also had the plus of paying the fighters big saleries, for eventuel injuries and to instill a grateful feeling that lead to a depentancy. Like a drug. Through these fights she meet a lot of underground experts and started training their arts. At the time she paid of her debt and turned her back on the underworld-buisness she was proficient in the handeling of all kinds of blund and sharp wepons as well as well versed in different kinds of material arts. Of course her main style remained in a boxing stand. Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. But all of this did not came without a price. In her quest of forgetting her pain and grief she injured herself dozen of times, her body riddled with scars could prove that, but one injury pained her the most. One day she fought against an ex-military agent who had an alcohol problem. Throughout the fight she started noticing that he became more and more aggressive and his attacks became more deathly. Just as she declared her surrender her hit her in the stomach so hard that she spewed out blood, and had to be brought to a hospital. It seemed like the attack had ruptured her uterus and so the doctors told her that she could never have a child in the future. With tears in her eyes the woman lay her hand on her belly with a pained smile. But even if she could not have a child, now that she was free from all the filth of the underworld, she would find a way to be a mother. She just had to ind a job and then adopt a baby. Finally after all these years maybe she had the chance of a happy life. Maybe she could finally forget her grief. As she walked out ahe saw a man that she remembered. He was one of these guys that she hooked up with on these nights that she could not be alone and needed the warmth of another human being. But all of them were one night stands, and they knew it. She greeted him with a bit of suspicion but did not think much about talking with him. After the talk they said goodbye and hugged each other as a farewell. Suddenly she felt the cold metal of a gun being pressed in her belly. She looked at him in surprise but before she could react he pulled the trigger. The pain that shoot through her body let her stagger back a few steps. In disbelieve she raised her hand that she had laid on her stomache and saw the blood covering her hand and dripping on the floor. As she staggered and finally fell to the ground she looked up to the man and asked why. Why did he shoot her ? He smirked and walked up to her. Grapping her hair he lifted her head up. The pain that shoot through her brain when he jancked on her hair distracted her a bit from the pain in her abdomen. His mouth close to her ear her whispered : Because you tried to leave our world. Suddenly letting go of her head it hit the alley and let her mind be plunged into darkness. Prolog : Void adventure When her consciousness returned she found herself in a dark plain. Her surroundings were void of any light. She could not feel her body but she did sense a state of being. Slowly over time memories flashed before her eyes which she immediately forgot. As this went on, she felt a sense of loss. Like her being was drained of important elements. Her mind began to panic and reach out in an attempt to fill the void that was created. Suddenly she could feel her surroundings much clearer. Since she still could not see anything and was caught in the dark she concentrated all of her mental energy into this new sense of being and perception. The information that she received made her question her state of mind. It seemed lie she was in an endless universe that was concentrated around a rift which sucked in all the surrounding energy. She could also feel her own energy being drained from this rift. But the most astonishing fact was that she could feel other beings beside her. Millions no Trillions , maybe more, beings were gathered around her in this universe. Each one having their certain place in the universe and having no contact with each other. Still feeling the pull of the rift she concentrated on her problem at hand. She searched her memories and found out that she had a few memory gaps. Concluding from all presented facts she was very sure that this rift stole her memories from her. With all of her power, she fought against the pull. The stronger she fought the more pain she felt. It was a tearing sensation which enveloped her whole body. Instantly she wanted to cave in but then a memory of her brother surfaced and she could feel that if she did not fight for it, she would lose this memory forever. So for this one memory of her brother in which he was the happiest he ever had been she fought. It was her last treasure to protect. The pain got worse as the time went by but she could not part from the memory. Looking for a way out she once again searched her surroundings and fought an entity very near her that had a weak feeling. Without thinking about it, she drew closer to the being and in one This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work.swoop devoured the being. It just felt right. Just as she devoured the essence her pain lessened. It was still there but not so intense as before. And she could feel her mind clearing up. Now that she was not as panicked as before, she thought about the events that transpired. Firstly she confirmed that she still had all the memories of her brother and then she thought about her actions. It seemed like her devouring other beings strengthened her existing self and made her resistant to the rifts power. Without thinking she searched her surrounding for weak entities that could be easily devoured and started eating them, strengthening herself and securing her memories. After a while, all the relatively weak beings were devoured and she was conflicted. Should she start attacking the stronger once or should she wait for new weak creatures to come into existence. After a little inner discussion in which her inner devil beat up her inner angel, she decided to target the beings from her strength upward. When she closed in on a stronger entity, she immediately felt the resistance of the being. Slowly probing the creature and exhausting his powers in the process she continued approaching the entity. As the chance arose to finish it off she pounced at it devouring it in one swoop. Suddenly memories filtered into her mind. Of training, of relationships and of life itself. It seemed like these stronger once still contained their memories and would give her their remaining once if she devoured them. After this experience, she started eliminating all the souls without hesitation growing stronger as the number of victims increased. After a while, she was the only existence in the universe slowly drifting to the rift without feeling its pull. She started to get curious as the time went by and she wanted to know what exactly the rift was. When she was almost directly in front of the rift she felt something watching her. Something very old and very powerful but she could not see the creature that could emit such pressure. Just as her being reached the edge of the rift a sudden pull catapulted her into the rift knocking her out in the process. Chapter 1 : Transfer When her consciousness returned the first thing she felt was the familiar feeling of a body. This feeling was more confining instead of the freedom she experienced in the darkness. The next thing she registered was the pain. Mind numbing pain washed in shockwaves over her concentrating mostly above her belly button. It can not be that she was alive right ? She was shot in the belly... Nobody survives that. But then slowly she noticed other things. Like the weakness of her body. Her body was never weak. She worked hard for that. Even if she was beaten to a pulp she trained her body so that she would still have the strength to at least defend herself. Right now her body felt heavy. And of course painful but she could ignore the pain. She always did. Slowly her senses returned. She felt the cold surface under her cheek and by flexing her body slightly she concluded that she lay on a floor. It felt like her eyelids weighed a ton but she still forced them to open, closing them immediately. She again opened them slowly letting her eyes get used to the sudden light. Involuntary she let out a groan. When she flexed her body it felt like someone sucker-punched her in the gut. Imminently a nauseatic feeling rose up from her belly, which she suppressed . She was still not sure where she was and the small white hands that came into few as she raised her hand to her face did not belong to her. They could not ... They looked too fragile. Slowly she raised her upper body of te floor still cautious of her stomach which seemed to enjoy a rollercoaster ride while she suffered the consequences. When she stemmed herself of the ground suddenly her hearing returned giving her the impression of a swarm of bees running amok in her brain. Groaning again she held her head as she sat down in a comfortable lotus position. The buzz died down slowly being replaced by whispers. It seems like she was surrounded and instead of helping her they stood around talking to each other. After a minute of collecting her bearing she opened her eyes to assess the situation and almost fell unconscious again. What she saw was to .... Unusual to be true. The whole hall was in a red colour, except for the animals, they had a golden hue to them shining slightly. As she looked around her gaze fell on the men who sat in front of her on a pedestal. He looked old. Like a grandfather ,with long hair cascading from his head in small waves down to the middle of his back and he had a cute goat beard. But his blue eyes were ice-cold. And they were fixed on her. The old-fashioned Chinese clothes he wore commanded authority and it seemed like he judged her. She did not know this man but it seemed like she already made an enemy. Only than did she look at the other people present. They were arranged by their age, the elder sitting nearer to the Goaty-Grandfather . They all looked related. Was it a nose here or an eyebrow there they all had some kind of similarity. She concluded that they must all be family, and the younger generation stood behind the older one. But that did not stop all of them from talking, not as if she understood them. She grew up only learning English, german and a little french but this new language sounded more like an Asian one. Just as she wished to understand the words a sudden rush of power enveloped her body and she could hear the voices getting clearer and suddenly she even knew what they were talking about. Her. Interested she listened to all the accusations wich were thrown at her, but since she had no memory of the bodies original owner, she could not verify it. It seems like she was the child of a concubine to one of the main members of a high-class Shimeili. And it also seems like in the last few months this bodies former owner tried to land a husband and was now accused of whoring. Suddenly the Goaty lifted his hand and the hall quiet down. "Zhuxing Shimeili, I with my authority as the head of the family sentence you to banishment from our family and since you tarnished our name you will be sacrificed to the Great Dragon God." You''ve got to be kidding be !!! Chapter 2 : Body After hearing her sentence, she wanted to struggle and shout, but her body gave out from exhaustion. It seems like the physical damage that was done to her new body was too much for her to endure. But there also was her newly transferred soul to consider. It felt like she had not fully integrated into her body and started fighting the changes. As she woke up she found herself in a dark room. When her eyes accustomed to the darkness, she could see that she was in some kind of bedroom. A real run down bedroom. There were holes I the wall, ripped curtains, meter-high dust on the furniture and the bed she lay in felt like a wooden plank and smelled moth-infested. Tears gathered in her eyes and she had to bite her lip to not let them fall. The first lesson from her material arts teacher was to never let them see your fear or emotions in general. She wouldn''t do that for the life of her,so she suppressed her tears while biting her lips. This had to be a bad dream. It could not be real. Please let her wake up and find out that she was not just shot and then transferred into the body of a woman who was sentenced to be sacrificed to the Dragon God. That was not fair. Going over her memories from the court session before she was almost certain that she was no longer on earth. She groaned as she slowly sat up and swung her legs over the edge of the bed. She looked at the food next to her bedside and would not even wish her enemy the unidentifiable mixture in the bowl. When she looked closely at the door she saw it being sealed shut. The same could be said about the windows in her room. Seems like she was held captive awaiting her transportation to be a sacrifice. Her body still screamed in pain making it hard to concentrate on the task at hand. As she started examining her body she unintentionally concentrated on her pain above her belly button, the place she was shot in on Earth. Suddenly she felt a suction force from this particular place and she felt her consciousness slip away. She imminently ripped her attention from this particular spot. It scared her. After everything she went through this event felt so unnatural that her whole body screamed at her to never mind that place ever again and just pretend that it did not exist. When she looked at her arms she could see them covered in goosebumps. For the time being, she listened to her body but she knew that she had to explore this particular place later. As she stood up to resume the examination of her body, she felt her knees buckle and had to grip the edge of her bed as to not tumble to the floor. Grinding her teeth she forced her legs to straighten and held onto the bed. As she slowly started to examine her body the first thought was "How weak". She had already suspected that her body now was much weaker than her body on Earth but that is was so .... This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Told her that it has to do with the spot on her abdomen that still hurt like hell. She had continued telling herself that this had to be a bad dream but the more she experienced and the longer she lived in this reality the feeling of despair overcame her and her conviction faded away. These white frail hands, the starved body which showed off her rib cage and the countless scars all over her white alabaster skin. None of them even remotely reminded her of her old body. On earth, her body also suffered from countless scars, but they were more the type of scars you would get from a knife. Her new body instead showed signs of whipping and she could even see countless needle scars on her arms and legs. Even right now brutal bruises showed on her upper body and tights which were normally covered by her clothes so it seems like someone did not want to let others see the reason for her pain and misery on the first glance. Seems like the previous host was not well liked. Looking at her body she concluded that the former owner died because of a server beating and she took her place shortly after. Pity that she had no memories from the previous host which could help her in her situation. When her fingers touched her face she could feel smooth skin, a straight nose, and full lips. Looking around the room she searched for a mirror, finding one in a far corner of the room. Slowly she made her way there still not trusting her stick-like legs. She gripped onto the table in front of the mirror stabilising her body. Looking up she recoiled from her own image. The face that looked back at her looked like a victim of server starvation. And she looked not older than 14. Her white skin made her face look sick and the hollow cheeks did not make it look any better. But she could see the potential of a beauty. She now spotted big blue eyes with a slight upturn which gave them an exotic feeling. Her straight, small and dark eyebrows framed her eyes and gave them a mysterious appearance. If not for the starvation eating up her body she would be a grat beauty turning Male heads as she casually walked by without even needing a touch of makeup. She slowly turned from the horrendous image walking back to the "bed". When she sat down she knew that the time had come. She finally had to examine the hell hole in her upper body which tormented her since the time she came to this new reality. As she concentrated on the feeling of pain she felt her consciousness slip and darkness enclosed her. Chapter 3 : Whispers When I came to I found myself in a broken realm. Just looking straight ahead I could not see it''s end, but I could see the several rifts marring the landscape. It looked much worse than the place I was in before. But this darkness was the same, the same feeling like the one in the void where I devoured all of these beings. But this time all I could see were several wisps of smoke that with time started piling up and coming nearer. The whole realm gave a very unstable impression. Suddenly the whispers started slowly but surely creeping into my brain, corrupting my thoughts. I hang on to my memories of my brother because they gave me a feeling of peace and quiet. I looked and walked around searching for the whispers and a way out of this place. But she could not see anything other than the rifts and the wisps of smoke that grew with time. Everything else was shrouded in darkness. Pieces of words invaded her brain telling of unspeakable agony and pain. She wanted to clasp her hands over her ears to block them out, only to realise that she once again did not possess a body. The closer the smoke came, the stronger the whispers echoed in her mind, making her loose the concept of space and time. She was imprisoned in this world of pain and knew that freeing herself would come with a price and her gut told her, the price would be her memories. Now she had to decide, either she would succumb to these whispers and retain her memories, or she could forget her brother ,the one memory these whispers wanted so much, and try to live. But was this life worth living if she could not remember these happy moments in her otherwise miserable past ? Never. And so she started to fight. Remembering her struggle in the void she again started to "feel" these beings and as they neared with immense will power she forced them to submit to her, devouring their essence. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. But like before they all had different strength. All of the small fries were no problem, but the stronger once were. They could evade her senses and some of them even planted their memories right into her when she started to absorb them, always leading to a gruesome death in the memories when she finished absorbing them. In the end, she must have seen thousands of death situations and her emotions cooled down so much, that it would not surprise anyone if she would kill without batting an eyelash , maybe even smiling while she was at it. She once again returned to her personality which she had in the months after her brother''s death, where she did not care about death and only the feeling of fresh, warm blood on her hands, could calm the raging emotions in her heart. This struggle felt like an entity. Then suddenly in one last attempt all the really strong beings started to gather around her and filled her brain with immense knowledge. So much that her head started to hurt. She could feel her mouth filling with a metallic taste and with a cough she spits out a mouthful of blood. All of her senses seemed to overload and firstly tingle. After that came the pain. But she could not really assess the situation since she was captured in the memories of these beings. Horrible senses of burning villages, bloody people and crying children filled her vision making her soul cry in pain. When she could have seen herself she would have realised that her tears were made out of blood running down herself and falling to the floor forming a puddle. But she could not understand any of these impressions. They were too much into little time that her brain could not even grasp more than 10% of what she saw. But this 10% were enough. And their intensity still increased. In the end, all of the whispers occupated her senses so much that she could not make sense of any of them.
