《Calandoris》 Chapter 01 - Going with a bang! AN: Here is the first chapter of this second side project of mine. Enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** A young man was in an armored vehicule, looking at the pulsating setting sun. The vehicule was all-ground, a little longer than a humvee. The vehicule was tracting behind it another one, bigger, the size of a bus. This second vehicule was also lightly armored. They were at the edge of a high plateau, with hills and a river visible below. The land was almost barren, turning into a deeper shade of crimson under the light of setting sun. The young man looked at the sun with sadness, regret and longing. After all, the end was near. He traveled around most of the places of this world, fighting, studying, saving, killing, supporting, stealing, building and destroying. For nearly 15 years he roamed on the differents lands of this world, he loved this world very much, but it was on the brink of death, he wouldn''t be able to stay there anymore. He was sitting on the passenger seat, next to him on the driver seat was a robust young man with a sharp, handsome face, with a kind of calm, bestial charm. At the back were 2 women, one was a short pretty woman with black hair and blue eyes, and a beautiful figure, the other was also pretty, of average height, with golden hair and eyes, and big breasts. Those other 3 people were also looking at the pulsating setting sun. But unlike the first person, their faces were lacking emotions. If one looked closely, one would be able to see imperfections on their skin and their clothes. In fact, those imperfections were present on anything and everything in this world. Understandable, since this world was, at its very core, made of 0s and 1s. This world was a virtual world for a game, the first VR game boasting 90% of realism, a science-fiction online role-playing game. This game, after a little more than 10 years of success, had reached its final stage. ------- It all started when the young french man, Francis Damas, reached the age of 16. A rising game company, after the success of its previous VR game, developped a new one, which reached a new level of realism. The young man was selected as one of the beta testers, under the username Tonyorobsky. The 3 months of the beta were enough to completely steal the heart of the young man. He always felt that he was born during the wrong era, and this game offered him wat he was yearning for. VR technology appeared 30 years prior to this moment. The visual quality of the games wasn''t different from what people could see during the 2020s. As for the emulated senses, there was only sight, earing and touch, and then again it was just the bare minimum in the range of feelings. Slowly, the quality of the games increased with time, until Cataclysm Online was developped 11 years ago. The premise of the game was that a cosmic anomaly crossed the solar system, causing many changes in its wake. It caused tears in the space releasing copious amount of unknown radiations and energies. The wildlife of earth suffered serious mutations, as for the humans, a fourth of the population died while some gained esper-like abilities. The cosmic anomaly also caused the apparition of new materials and a new form of energy. But most importantly, it caused the Sun to be unstable and age at an incredible rate. It was predicted that it would turn into a nova in the near future. People were trying to save the human species, but that wasn''t going to be easy with the collapse of governments and the mutations of plants and animals. The wildlife became more deadly than before, and many areas became unhinabitables. With the collapse of governments and the appearnace of espers, chaos spread through the cities of the world. The goal of the game was to help develop the means to save humanity before the Sun destroyed the solar system or before humanity destroyed itself. Thankfully, the after effects of the cosmic anomaly were the appearance of a new material called etherium, and a new form of energy called etheris. Along with the study of the after effects of the anomaly, it brough great advancement to the human technology. Many new materials were created, discoveries were made in physics, and a new form of clean energy was available for mankind to use in any fields. Projects were underway to leave the solar system before the end. There were 3 races available in the game, the humans, the mutants, and the cyborgs. Nothing to say about the humans, the mutants were physically weaker, but could use telekinesis or telepathy, and were generally more beautifull. As for the cyborgs, they were humans that augmented themselves with cybernetic parts to either boos their physical abilities or allow them to interact with electronic devices or have hidden weapons within them. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. The level of the characters was the sum of the levels of their differents skills. The maximum level of a skill was 15, and the maximum level of a character was 200, so in theory it was possible to have up to 13 skills at max level. Though reaching max level in a skill is almost impossible. Some skills can merge, some can be absorbed in an other. Each skill level grant bonus points to the differents attributes. During the beta, when Tonyorobsky discovered the merging of skills, he focused on learning all the small skills that could later merge into a single one. There were also several classes in the game. Those classes would grant a bonus to the growth speed of the skills related to them. For the unrelated skills there was a 40% malus in growth speed. Each character could get a primary class at level 20 and a secondary class at level 90. Of course, to select the class it was necessary to have a minimal number of skills related to the said class at a certain level. Primary classes give 20% bonus in growth speed for related skills while secondary classes give 10% bonus. Every 40 levels, a player is given a special quest, and if the player complete the quest he can create his own NPC. All created NPCs start at level 1, but they have an accelerated growth speed until their level reach 85% of the level of their creator. After that, their growth is the same as that of the other players. Noone managed to complete all 5 quests. Only 13 people managed to complete 4 of them, and less than 8000 managed to get 3 NPCs. Still, around 2/3 of the other players could get 2 NPCs. After the beta, Francis invested almost all of his free time to the game, carefully nuturing his character to later become one of the strongest player of the game. He used his knowledge and experience as a beta tester to make the most of what the game had to offer according to his tastes. He already didn''t spend much time with his family or friends in the real world, they knew he felt foreign to the world. They weren''t really surprised to see him play the game so much, they were even relieved he found something he really liked. He spend almost all of his time between working and playing the game. ------- However, as he was working on his character, skills, possessions and NPCs, and enjoying himself in exploration, the others players were working on the game''s primary objective. Before he could reach his peak, the other players advanced in the story line of the game, and cleared all the conditions to launch the last phase of the game. Tonyorobsky participed in the final event with good achievements, then left for the wilderness to admire the scenery for the last time. Within a few minutes, Cataclysm Online would end. The people had started to evacuate Earth, some on massive spaceships with revolutionary FTL (Faster Than Light) propulsion, but the majority in smaller spaceships scheduled to escape the solar system through a stargate. Because it was not possible to save everyone, when those 2 projects were completed, the installations were swarmed by people trying to escape the dying world, and the final quest of the players were to protect those installations until the critical devices could be succesfully launched. Of course other players got the quest to stop the launch or take controle of the sites for themselves. The young man had participed in the defensive side, and they managed to repel the attacks. At that time the Sun started showing signs of nearing its end, the game would end with its death. So, for the remaining time, the young man came to a spot where he could see the setting sun of this world one last time. He was in one of the 2 vehicules he made, with his 3 created NPCs. The sun was pulsating more and more as it was reaching the horizon. Before disappering, it suddenly expanded while seemingly tearing from the inside, its color going from yellow to a dazzling bluish white, quickly covering the entirety of the sky. All of this happened within 3 seconds, and the blast reached the Earth... ****************************** AN: Isn''t that a nice way to end a game? With a fucking nova!!! As you can probably tell, this fiction was inspired from Overlord for a few things (custom npcs, staying in the game until the end, transported to another world with the ¡°base¡± when the game ended, and the npc becoming alive). Chapter 02 - Hello new world AN: Here is the second chapter of the story. Enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** Francis was blinded by the intense light, his ears were ringing from the loud noise he heard when the planet ws hit, and his body was shivering from the brief but overwhelming shock he felt. He leaned forward, his head was spinning. ¡°Ugh, that was kinda nasty, I didn''t expect that...¡± said Francis. Then he felt a strong but gentle hand on his shoulder ¡°Are you alright boss?¡± said a masculine voice that sounded distant, a voice Francis knew well, but he shouldn''t be hearing now. Thinking about it, he still felt himself seating in the car even though he should have been deconnected. ¡°What the hell is going on?¡± His head was spining, and he got a bit nauseous. ''Everyone should have been disconnected from the game the moment the Earth was destroyed, why am I still inside?'' ¡°Master? Are you not feeling well?¡± said a distant feminine voice. ¡°I will take him to the infirmary¡± said another feminine voice. ¡°Wait a damn minute!¡± ''These are definitly Proteo, Uranus and Robynn''s voices. So I''m still in the game...'' Slowly but surely, his vision and hearing returned to normal, and he looked around. Proteo was still on the driver seat, looking at him with a worried expression that seemed, genuine. At the back, the 2 girls were also looking at him with the same expression, and the one called Uranus had a become pale. Something was off about them, but Francis couldn''t exactly tell what it was. Then his gaze was attracted to the background. ¡°Snow?¡±. He looked outside the car, all around them was a wide plain with a few small hills covered in snow, a forest barely visible in the distance. Before the end he was in a barren land at sunset, and now he was in a cold land with the sun still high in the sky. ¡°Where the hell are we?¡± ¡°Wait a litlle Tony, I will make a research¡± said the last woman as she activated a laptop. He could hear the sound of instruments activating on the roof. ¡°Nothing. I can''t connect with anything, no satelittes, no navigation beaco-WHAT?¡± ¡°What is going on?¡± ¡°W-wait a minute Tony, I have to check a few things...¡± Francis was starting to get anxious, and scratched his head. His hand was right before his eyes, and they widened. He stared at his hand. It looked completely real. Cataclysm Online was state of art in virtual reality, even governments bough the technology from the gaming company, and the level of realism was still at 90%. Looking closely at things, people would notice the pixels, but that wasn''t the case now. Even the senses of touch, smell and tastes couldn''t be perfectly replicated, people could notice the differences with reality. Now that he had recovered a little, Francis noticed the changes in his senses. It was no longer the feelings of virtual reality, but those of reality. The sounds in the car and the sounds from outside, the smell of the car and the people inside, the feelings of the clothes and the seat... All authentic. ''It can''t be...'' He started to look intently at the people that were supposed to be his NPCs. He understood now why their expressions seemed off. It because it lacked the coldness and stifness of artificial intelligences. They acted like real people. Earlier, Uranus had gone pale when he was recovering from the dizziness. NPCs do not get pale, nor do they blush, and the anxious expression of Robynn right now. ¡°Menu... Status...¡± he said, but nothing happened. ¡°Robynn, what did you need to check? What surprised you so much when you tried to find our location?¡± ¡°Well... The program tried to calculate our position using the position of the sun in the sky, but it didn''t recognise the sun. I launched an analysis and compared it to our database. The star in the sky is not the sun...¡± Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. Francis left the car and looked outside. It was very cold, and the wind didn''t make it any better. He looked at the sky, the day star was white. The ground was covered in snow, but there were no tire marks behind the vehicules. ''I was thrown into another world when the game ended... But I''m not alone, my NPCs are there too, along with my car and mobile base. I came to this world with my avater''s body and everything closely linked to it, my possessions. But everything was converted to reality, the vehicules, my body... and my NPCs... It looks like they still follow my orders for now, but will that change? I made them with loyalty and devotion toward me, so maybe it was imprinted in their beings... And more importantly, in what kind of world did we end up? How dangerous is it? What are the inhabitants? What is the technological level of this world? More advanced or less advanced? Was I the only one thrown in this world? If there are others, will they be friends or foes?'' He went back to the car and looked at the 3 people inside. ¡°Robynn, Proteo, Uranus. It looks like we are in an unknown world. We don''t know what dangers lies in these lands, so our priority will be to stay hidden and gather as much informations as we can.¡± They looked at me with surprised eyes, then they got serious. ¡°Proteo, launch the stealth drone for scouting and keep an eye on the surroundings.¡± ¡°Understood.¡± ¡°Robynn, passive search on all waves and frequencies for anything that look like communications.¡± ¡°I''m on it!¡± ¡°Uranus, check our food supply. I will be in the lab for a while, call me if you find traces of civilisation. Or when the food is ready...¡± ¡°Yes master¡± Then he went toward the mobile base and got in trough on of the side doors. He was in of the 2 main compartments of the vehicule, the tech lab, where he could analyse, repair or make tools or devices. There were also several types of scanners and sensors that could be used outside. He placed Galileo outside and activated it. Galileo was a basically a telescope with several aditionnal features, made to observe the sky. It was powerfull enough for basic observations during daytime. Galileo systematicaly scanned the sky, sending the infomations to the terminal in the tech lab for analysis. During that time, another external sensor was analysing the composition of the air. Several other devices were analysing the ground near the vehicules, and a long range sensor was pointed toward the forest visible several kms away. While the devices were working and the computer was analysing the results, Francis was thinking about what has happened. He wondered what happened to his real body, if it had vanished from his original world or if it was dead. Maybe his consciousness was duplicated and his original body was fine with his original mind inside, grieving about the end of the game before preparing to go to work. However, being there with the things he worked so hard for in the game was enough to make him ignore his worries about the previous world. After all, he never felt at home there. It was true that he would miss his parents and friends, but if he was given the choice, he would most definitly choose to leave them behind, to leave that world. He wasn''t worried about them being sad about his disparition. They knew him, they would understand. ¡°Farewell Earth, hello new world.¡± ****************************** AN: More details on the custom npcs and the vehicules in the following chapters Chapter 03 - Observations AN: Here is the third chapter, enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** The computer continued to analyse the data from the differents sensors and scanners for a while before giving results. Francis looked over them, then went to see his subordinates. ¡°Robynn, Proteo, any signs of civilisation near us?¡± ¡°I checked the surroundings with the drone, nothing within 100km from here except some wide plains and a bit of forest with a few big animals.¡± said Proteo. Proteo was the second npc made by Francis, after completing the third special quest. He made it to complement him and Robynn, his first npc. Proteo''s primary class is soldier, and his secondary class is doctor. He is a 190 tall cyborg, with black hair reaching his shoulders, and sharp, bright cybernetic green eyes. He has a straight nose and a slightly square face, and his body had muscles, but without being overbearing. Francis made him to look both calm and fierce, and it gave people the impression to look at a beautiful, wild predator. He usually wear a protective vest and pants, with a dark combat suit underneath. The combat suit protect from heat, cold and electricity, and is ¨C . The protective vest and pants look like ordinary clothes, but are reinforced to protect from blades and light firearms. ¡°I didn''t detect any kind of advanced means of communication within 1000km. There is nobody near, and if there are, they must be either less advanced, or using something we can''t see.¡± said Robynn. Robynn was the first npc he made after the second special quest since he failed the first. At that time, Francis was focusing more on grinding skills than earning money, so he was often very low on money and had a few troubles because of it. She is a mutant, her primary class is trader, and her secondary class is thief. Francis made her to get a lot of money, be it legally or illegaly, it was fine as long as money was coming. She had long straight black hair reaching the middle of her back, and deep blue eyes. She had an ovale face, with a straight nose and full lips. She was a little short with a height of 163cm. Her skin had a pretty, healthy tan, she has a great figure, with a D cup chest and a butt just as endearing. He made her pretty for trade, and short for infiltration and stealing. His ingame life got a lot better after getting her. She wore a business suit and pants. ¡°Good. After a bit of analysis, here is what I found about this place. The planet is bigger than the Earth, around 50000 km of circumference. But even though it''s bigger, it''s also lighter since the gravity is 90% of that of Earth. The composition of the air is similar, but with a higher ratio of oxygen, at nearly 27%.¡± ¡°That''s good for us.¡± said Proteo ¡°We come from a world with less oxygen and higher gravity, so we will be stronger than the other life forms of similar size and weight. No wonder I felt stronger than before.¡± ¡°The ground underneath the snow is made of solid rock, and from the preliminary analyse, the elements are the same as those found on Earth. The trees from the distant forest look similar to some of those found on Earth, though bigger. Most of the wild life here must be bigger. And finally, the atmosphere is full of some kind of etheris, but it''s different from the one found on earth. It may have side effects on our power sources.¡± ¡°Another form of etheris, in a significant amount in the atmosphere... I hope it will have no adverse effects on our bodies. I recommand a medical check on everyone twice per day for the time being boss. And it''s also precaution against the local micro organisms.¡± ¡°That''s a good idea, that will be every morning and every evening starting tomorrow. Everybody is now required to wear a medical watch. Now Uranus, what about our supplies?¡± ¡°We have 5 days worth of normal food, and 20 days of emergency rations. I had a look at our weapons, they seem to be in good state and we have an average amount of amnutions for all of them.¡± ''That''s right, we did resupply before leaving for the setting sun...'' Uranus was the last npc Francis made. Since he was doing really good with Robynn and Proteo, he decided to make her for fun and chores. She is a human whose primary class is entertainer and secondary class is servant. She is 170cm tall, with long drilled blond hair and golden eyes, and a heart shaped face. She has a great figure with goergeous curves, bigger than Robynn''s. She wore a dark blue maid outfit with the skirt reaching above the knees, and black stockings. ¡°It looks like we are near the northern arctic zone of this planet. There is no trouble with our electronics, we are lucky the magnetics fields are almost the same as Earth. Starting tomorrow we will slowly move toward the south while looking for traces of civilisation.¡± ¡°The cold is probably the reason we didn''t find anything. Unless the intelligent natives live deep underground or underwater.¡± said Robynn. ¡°That would be sad since we would miss each other... Who wants to pass on the opportunity to meet another intelligent life form?¡± Francis added. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.¡°It''s true that it would be very interesting¡± replied Proteo. ¡°By the way, from my observations the time here is the same as Earth, and the local time was already calculated. Check it on our private database and update all the concerned devices. I''m going back to the lab to study the ambiant etheris. Call me if something interesting happen, and Uranus, bring me mt food there when it''s done.¡± Francis went back into his lab. He looked at himself in the small mirror near the entrance. He saw a young man with dark brown hair and light brown eyes, slightly tanned skin and handsome features. His build was a bit on the skinny side, but he was well toned, with a height of 180cm. He was better looking than his original self. It was the body of his avatar, Tonyorobsky, or Tony like he asked Robynn to call him back during the game. He had to remind himself that he was no longer Francis, though he will not forget what he was. In a sci-fi setting, there was no way he would pass on the opportunity to make his own high tech devices or customize other things. That was why his primary class was engineer. He could do most of the work from the conception to the fabrication. Since the world was also a dangerous place, his second class was mercenary, not as strong as a soldier, but with more freedom. He wanted to be as free and independent as possible. He could defend himself and taking care of his equipment by hmself. He didn''t join any guilds, but he did make some joint missions with some of them, or with some other small party of players. But most of the time he was alone, grinding many skills to merge them. Being able to make npc was salvation for him. Even though he didn''t really mind others, they wouldn''t wait for him while he was working on so many skills. That''s why, he got really attached to his npcs as they would follow him anywhere, or wait for him for inlimited amount of time. At the beginning he treated them like slaves, but with time he started to treat them like real companions. It was a bit different for Uranus as he made her to relieve bordome and do all the chores, almost like a slave. The name was chosen specifically for the pun present in it. Now that they had become alive, he felt a bit guilty for her. ''I can think about the past once I''m sure the etheris from this world wwon''t be harmful to our equipment. If our power source fail we will find ourselves in a very dangerous situation'' Francis, no, Tonyorobsky started to make a serie of tests on several small pieces of etherium. Some of them, who were empty before the transfert, had absorbed a bit of etheris from this world. Some time later, Uranus came to give him, so after a quick meal he resumed his experiences. After a while, he came to the conclusions that the etheris present in the air was a lot less powerfull than the one from Earth, however it boosted the efficiency of the earthen ether reactor. They consumed less ether, and at the same time provided more power. And it accelerated the regeneration of earthen etheris in the etherium pieces that still contained earthern etheris. That meant it was highly unlikely for them to get energy trouble for the rest of their lives. Also, if some intelligent being use etheris in this world, it wouldn''t compare to the etheris reactors he possessed. He quickly dismissed that thought, as he didn''t know how good was the etherium from this world, if there was any. ¡°That''s really great, so that mean I won''t have to worry about energy when using Elric. That makes me eager to discover the interesting materials from this world and work on them... Wait...¡± ''Something is odd. My mind is clearly that of the human named Francis, that got just above average grades in school and was working in a supermarket. I didn''t do any advanced studies, yet I just spent a few hours doing analysis and tests on an advanced fictional material and energy. Back in the game most of the skills were assisted, be it in combat, sport, trade, crafting or research. You couldn''t get a degree in physics in real life because you got a degree in the game, everything was very simplified. Yet, I did a bunch of advanced research like I was used to it.'' Tony tried to think about everything he new in science, engineering, martial arts and weapons, but it wouldn''t go past what he understood without the assistance of the game. No matter how hard he though about, his knowledge remained the same as that of his original self. ¡°But, then, how was I able to do all of that? Let''s remember what happened... I see, there is still some kind of assist system. When my goal was defined and I started to work, the knowledge became available. But since I don''t need it right now it''s locked. I guess part of the game system was carved in my body, for the use of the skills I learned. I guess it''s a good thing to not have my mind suddenly jammed with knowledge, or being unable to use efficiently most of my devices and equipment.¡± ****************************** Chapter 04 - Departure AN: Here is chapter 4 of Tonyorobsky''s adventures :P, enjoy... Maybe ****************************** Remnant of the game still present inside them made him think about their future in this world. The game had 4 characteristics. Power, which was an indication of the strenght and vitality of the characters. Agility, for the speed, flexibility and dexterity. Mind, for the intelligence, wisdom and willpower. Charisma, for the charm and leadership. All of those grew with each levels of the skills related to them. There were no detailled numbers, but they were ranked from the lowest to the highest F, E, D, C, B, A, S and X. B rank was the equivalent of a top class soldier, martial artist, trader or scientist in the real world. Top player would get S rank in their primary characteristics but no player reached X rank in any of their characteristics. Tony was level 178 when the game ended, but due to him grinding many skills, thus gaining more points than others for the differents characteristics, he reached A rank in power and S rank in agility and mind. Even though he played a lot solo, he still managed to get B rank in charisma. Nobody reached S rank in anything before reaching level 185, and not many got 2 characteristics at rank S at the end of the game. At level 178, Tony could hope to get X rank in either agility or mind., and maybe even power. He could become really strong and smart. If they did find intelligent races, he would be able to learn their language and other things really fast. If the intelligent races from this world were similar to humans in strenght and intelligence, he would be at the top of them. Along with Robynn and Proteo. ''Well, all of this is just theory anyway, only time will tell if I was right or wrong. I''d better get ready for the night'' In the game, there were several stats. Life, for the life force of the character, when it reached 0 the character would die. Stamina, the amount of physical energy, when it reached 0 the character would faint. Psion, the amount of psychic energy necessary for mutants to use esp. Energy, the amount of energy necessary for cyborgs to use some of their cybernetics abilities. And finally, health, for the general state of cleanness and functionality of the body. The lower it was, the more people were vulnerable to illnesses and poisons, their stamina regeneration and healing speed would decrease, and their power, agility, mind and charisma would decrease as well. Life, stamina, psion and energy were displayed in percentage, no detailled amount. However it was noticed that life increased with power only, stamina increased with power and agility, psion increased with power and mind, and energy increased only with upgrades on the cybernetics parts for the cyborgs. The amount of life and stamina was also affected by the way you lived in the game, so 2 people with the same power or agility could have different amount of life and stamina. Just like the other characteristics, they were ranked from F to X. Tonyorobsky was A rank in life and stamina. Back in the game, to avoid wasting water while traveling in dry lands, and just to avoid wasting space for additional water tanks, Tony and his npcs used bathing towel with a special bathing liquid to clean themselves. Many players neglected this stat, sometimes going several in-game days without proper hygien, but not Tonyorobsky. He got inspiration from the astronauts to remain clean every days while using as little water as possible. And his npcs did the same. Tony left the lab and went outside. Back in the game, when he was traveling in the wilderness he would order either Robynn or Proteo to set it up. And it was there, he was happy to see their in-game habits carried over, because it was due to his orders. It wouldn''t be a problem despite the cold of the north since the tent was made of strong alloys, polymers, and they had convinient equipments for differents condition. That tent could be used in many kind of environments, be it desertic, arctic, places with strong winds or an excess of water. There was a good reason why Tony still used a tent even though he had a mobile base. Because the mobile base was for the well furnished infirmary, the well furnished tech lab, and the storage room. There was no room for beds. Tony sacrificed sleeping confort for better available equipment. A tent is good enough for decent sleep, but not for a decent infirmary or a decent tech lab. However, as he got in the tent, he was faced with a problem. Back in the game, as a guy he would tell the girls to sleep with him, and had Proteo sleep in the car with the excuse that he could quickly use the heavy weaponery installed on the roof, or so they could make a quick escape with him already in the vehicule. Even though the senses were differents from reality, he still liked to hold onto them. So when he saw the 2 pretty girls in the tent his heart made a leap in his chest, and his cheeks got hot. ''They are no longer mere npcs, I can''t just go and sleep with them like it''s normal.'' ¡°What are you standing there for Tony? Didn''t you come to slee... What are you getting embarrassed for? Hahaha! It''s not the first time we slept together. Don''t think to much about it and come. It''s cold outside, we will keep you warm.¡± said Robynn while smirking. Uranus was looking from the corner of her eyes while blushing. Robynn was a mutant, and like all mutants she had esp. There were several kind of esp, but it was roughly divided between ''burst'' and ''trance''. All mutants could use both kinds, but one kind would be used without problem while the other could barely be used. Burst was for things similar to telekinesy, while trance was for things similar to telepathy. Tony made Robynn with telekinesy as her strong esp and empathy as her weak esp. She was able to pick up the feelings of people, as such she noticed his embarrassement. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. ''Damn, I forgot about her abilities... If I run away now, I will look pathetic in front of the girls, and I''m supposed to be their master. If I show weaknesses instead of confidence they may change. Even if I made them with absolute loyalty and devotion, they are no longer npcs... Maybe the best way to keep them is to act with them as I would in the game as much as possible, to keep showing that I''m the boss and that I''m not scared to order them around. Or not, let''s go slowly about it, act like in the game, but not too much.'' After thinking for a bit, he sighted and went to bed next to the girls. He heard Robynn giggling a bit. Since he got in bed with them he got even more embarrassed, and slightly aroused. This close to her, there was no way she wouldn''t pick it up. Tony was a bit saddened by his own reaction, and forced himself to ignore it and stay calm. Then Robynn turned toward him and looked at him seriously. He was a bit surprised by her serious gaze. She gave him a small kiss on the forehead. ¡°Sleep well Tony¡± she said without a hint of mischief. Then she turned around and went to sleep. ''What was that?¡ Ha... She felt my agitation and tried to calm me down... I guess I was worried for nothing... maybe...'' And effectively, he calmed down and went to sleep peacefully, like he would sometimes back in the game. Being embarrassemed at the idea of sleeping with them disappeared completely from his mind. The next day, after cleaning themselves, eating breakfast and tidying everything, they went at the back of the mobile base for the medical examination. Thankfully there was nothing odd with neither of them. ¡°Ok, it''s time to move. Proteo, you drive the car, Robynn you''re with him, controling the stealth drone to keep scouting ahead of us. You will basically be Proteo''s copilote. I will drive the mobile base, Uranus you will be with me, keeping an eye on any signs of communications.¡± ¡°!! Master, I''m not knowledgeable in-¡± ¡°You may think you''re not suited for the task, but you will surely be able to see the difference between an absence of communications and the presence of communication. Just tell me the moment you notice something that wasn''t there when we started moving. Proteo, Robynn, we will stay 150m behind you, just in case. Let''s go!¡± Both vehicules had their frames and bodies made of superalloys. Their armor were made of a composite of adamantine and ceramics. Adamantine was a new material made of depleted etherium, carbon, aluminium and titanium, and a few other components. It was one of the strongest materials known to man, with only 70% of the weight of iron, hard, resistant to extrem temperatures, corrosion and oxydation. The armor was 40mm thick around the passenger compartments, 25mm for the engines and the bottom of the vehicules, 10mm for the rest, except for the infirmary and lab tech, with 30mm. They could take quite the beating before going down. The 2 vehicules could be linked so one of them could tow the other. More specifically, the first vehicule would control the second like a remote-controlled toy. Of course the programm took into consideration the differences between the 2 vehicules. The interior were made with confort in mind, as it was planned to spend a lot of time in the vehicules. There were several cameras and sensors, especially for the blind spots of the vehicules. Additional informations could be displayed on the windscreen. The engines weren''t top class, but still of great quality, alimented by etheris reactors. The car was basically an all-ground armored recon vehicule nicknamed Ranger. It was inspired from the ATV and its predecessor, the humvee, but with a softer, more civilian look, and it was amphibious. There were 5 seats in seats inside, 2 at the front and 3 at the back. The seats on the back were slightly moved back, as there was an opening on the roof for the heavy armament turret. The shooter could stand up without being hindered by the seats. As for the turret, it could turn around at 360¡ã. and you could switch armaments, either the minigun or the railgun. The back was for equipment storage. The mobile base looked like a class A motorhome, but slightly bigger, with 6 wheels at back, alimented by 2 etheris reactors. It could switch between 2wheels-steering mode and 14 wheels-steering mode depending on the path to take. The back contained the infirmary, with many equipments you usually wouldn''t find outside of an hospital. The tech lab was in the middle, and behind the cockpit was the storage room, for food, cosmetics, clothes and other supplies. But there was also a toilet, Tony didn''t feel like letting the girls do their business in the wilderness, even though they were just npcs. Proteo and Robynn got into the car, while Tony got on the driver seat of the mobile base and Uranus got to the passenger seat with a laptop. Their trip toward the unknown southern lands began ****************************** Chapter 05 - Contacts AN: It''s summer and I was out for several days :) , now I''m back, finally back to work on my 3 little fictions. Here is chapter 5 of the story of our transmigrants. Enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** The Ranger was advancing at a constant pace, lifting a cloud of snow in its wake, and opening the path for the mobile base. Because the snow was hidding the ground, the ranger had most of its sensor directed toward the ground in front of the vehicule. As a cyborg, Proteo could be connected to certain electronic devices, and right now, he used the custom port made by Tony for his exclusive use, and he could literally sense with the sensor of the Ranger. That''s why he quickly noticed the irregularity in the ground 60 meters in front of them and suddenly turned to the side. A second later, the snow erupted on the path he just avoided and something lunged at the armored car. It hit the vehicule at the back on the right side, lifting it and making the car drive on 2 wheels, almost knocking it over. Since Tony was at a safe distance behind, he got the time to stop. What they saw was a dark grey worm-like creature, but its body had a diameter of about 4m, and it was nearly 30 meters long. Its mouth opened in 5 sections, and 5 tentacles shot out toward the still advancing Ranger. The giant worm tried to warp them around the car, but without succes. Tony taped a few commands on the tactical screen of the on-board computer, and several sensors on the roof of the mobile base focused on the giant animal. Then he pressed the communication command. ¡°How are you doing?¡± ¡°No damage and no injuries boss, it barely scratched us... It looks like we''re out of its range.¡± ¡°Keep taunting it, we will see how good our weapons are against it. Robynn, you start with the hand gun, then the submachine gun, then the assault rifle. Aim for the body, not the head.¡± ¡°Understood!¡± the 2 of them answered. ¡°Uranus, keep an eye on the surroundings, I''m going out.¡± ¡°Yes master! ¡ Please be carefull.¡± Since they were travelling in unknown territory, they had their weapons ready near them. Robynn opened the hatch on the roof and got into position with her handgun in one hand and the submachine gun in the other. The hand gun was an advanced version of the desert eagle, called chaos eagle, more powerful than his predecessor to deal with th new chaotic world, but with a performant recoil-absorption system. The submachine gun was custom-made by Tony with the MP5 as a base, and the assault rifle was made with a sacrifice in firing rate for power and precision Proteo was driving in a circle around the worm, purposelly going into the range of its mouth tentacles, knowing they couldn''t hold down the Ranger. The worm was following them with its head without problem. If not for the fact that it seemed stuck in place it would have quickly caugh up on the car. Robynn first emptied the cartridge of her magnum, then her submachine gun. There were little effects visible. While she was doing that, Tony took out the sniper rifle hidden behind the driver seat of the mobile base. He got out of the vehicule and climbed on the roof using the retractable ladder on the side. The sniper rifle was custom-made, inspired from an old game named Halo. If coupled with an external source of energy it could increase the power of the shot by 150%. And he could do that. He finished preparing himself just as Robynn emptied her assault rifle. Tony held his breath, carefully aimed, and fired. The worm reacted to the shot as a wound was clearly visible on its body, but it was still a flesh wound for it. Then Tony connected the sniper rifle to the energy circuits of the mobile base. Some access points were placed on a few places on the vehicules for the use of powered weapons, drones or other equipments. Then he fired again. This time the bullet completely went through the body of the worm, and I trashed around in pain. He fired one more time, aiming for the head. The worm froze in place, shuddered and then fell limply. He fired 2 more times, but there were no reactions. Seeing the result, he got back in the vehicule with the gun. ¡°Alright, let''s see what we can learn from this dead body. Robynn and Uranus, keep an eye on the surrounding. Proteo, there is some dirty work for us.¡± ¡°You say that, but in fact you''re happy to have something new to dissect, right?¡± He put on some protective gear and a mask, took of a chainsaw from the storage room, and started to cut of the head of the beast. Even though there were no reactions from the head, the body seemed still alive, as when he cut past the skin it spewed large quantities of purple and red body fluids like a broken pipe spewing water. The fluids were still circulating in the body, meaning some vital organs were still functioning. After cutting of the head, he gave it Proteo. Proteo went to the back of the mobile base, where he set up a field infirmary so he could dissect the head more carefully. Tony cut the rest of the body in sections, sometimes coming across an organ that spewed more body fluids at him, until he got at the point where it connected with the ground. He left the chainsaw to the side and went to take a shovel. It was bigger than an ordinary one, and had sharp edges. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. An electric engine made the edge vibrate, allowing the shovel to cut deeper into the ground, and with more ease. Thus Tony dug the rest of the body out within a few hours. The reason the worm stayed in place was because at the bottom there was a big sack linked to its body, and this sack contained dozens of eggs. A few were taken for further research. They stayed at that place for 3 days, 3 days during which Proteo studied the differents tissus and organs of the worm, the cells, the molecular composition, the general physiology of the monster, the micro organisms present within, and determining if it was edible or not. Tony studied the physic properties of the differents pieces and tissus of the worm, their resistance to heat, cold, their resistance to different types of physical agression. They sent drones to the nearby woods to get plants samples as well. It was all to know how similar or differents the beings from this world would be compared to those of earth, which kind of action would bring the most harm to the differents parts of their bodies. They would know what to do the next time they encountered similar beings. If they encountered something differents, they would do the same tests and analysis. At the end of those 2 days or research, considering the planet itself have many similitudes with the Earth, Tony and Proteo came to the conclusion that most of the life forms of this world would be similar to those found on earth. There was no denying that they would find something exotic, but for the most parts the living beings and the ways to deal with them would be similar. With that, they continued their trip toward the south. They encountered several worms on the plains during their trips. A few of them were not stuck in place. They could move above ground at nearly 80km/h, however extracting themselves from the ground always gave Tony and his servants the time to get away. Even with all the snow around, they could still reach a speed of around 110km/h depending on the terrain. The ground was mostly flat so it wasn''t a problem. They did wonder how the worms got their food. The answer was given by en encounter with a herd of wolly birds that looked like ostriches. Those things probably got their food from the few woods in the surroundings. But the worms weren''t their only predators in these frozen lands. There was also a kind of wolf that traveled in groups of 4 to 7, probbly following the constantly moving preys. Of course they were much bigger and tougher than the regular earth wolf, but also smarter. They always kept their distances, so Proteo had to snipe 1 of them so he could study it. That was how the trip went until they could see a mountain range on the horizon. They already new it would be there from the scouting with the stealth drone. That mountain range was extending a long way both toward the east and the west. They would have to rely on the stealth drone to find a path through it. It was a good thing that the mountains weren''t too high. It would be possible for both the Ranger and the mobile base to move through it. It was shortly after noon when Tony decided to talk to Uranus, who had a weird expression on her face for almost an hour. ¡°What is it?¡± ¡°Ah, I think there is something!¡± ¡°Where?¡± ¡°On the waves scanner!¡± Tony hastly pressed the comm button. ¡°Robynn, call back the drone, we may have detected traces of communications. I want you on it!¡± ¡°Now, that is something interesting for me. I was bored while you had your fun with the worm.¡± Once the stealth drone got put away, she resumed the original job Tony had given her when they first got into this world. A few hours later, as they were almost at the foot of the mountain range, Robynn called Tony. ¡°There really is something Tony, but it looks like it''s jammed. The closer we get to the mountain range, the more apparent it is, both the communication and the jamming, though it''s still on the weak side. I suspect there is something in the mountains that disrupt communications. There is a civilisation on the other side, Tony. A civilisation advanced enough to at least use radio waves.¡± ¡°If there is a civilisation on the other side, we may come across some isolated individuals in the mountain range. The hunt will be open soon.¡± ¡°Hunt? Why?¡± Asked Uranus. ¡°To get some informations from these isolated individuals before reveling ourselves to a greater number of them. We must capture one of them, it will be intersting, hehehehe...¡± ****************************** AN:What will they find within those mountains and beyond? Find out in the nexy episode!!! ¡ ... Chapter 06 - Talk in the mountain range AN: New chapter after a busy week. Enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** Before advancing any further, Tony decided to talk to his 3 subordinates about one of his biggest worries. ¡°Listen guys. We may not have been the only ones thrown in this world. If there are others as well, they could be either friends or foes. Are there other drifters like us in the mountains and beyond? Where we came from there were many opposing factions, and we made some enemies among them. There are people that just love to spread chaos around. Also, who can say that time would remain constant during the transfert? Some may even have arrived here before us, and maybe some will appear later. How much of their own belongings did they carry over here? How was their first contact with the local civilisation? Did they already bring significant changes to this world''s culture and technology?¡± ¡°So we will have to be extra cautious¡± said Robynn. ¡°Right. We can''t just rely on the stealth drone. We will have to use the scouting bike and the black swallows.¡± Tony and Uranus left the mobile base and got into the armored car. The mobile base was placed on trailer mode behind it. Proteo took of his traveling cloth and put on one of his 3 armors, the predator armor, custom-made by Tony. The name of the armor is in reference to an old sci-fi movie about a race of alien hunters and warriors. The predator armor was made for both tracking and battle. Proteo was a soldier, and this armor was made to help him for missions that relied more on stealth than open battles. For a soldier, it was a light armor, but resistant as it was made of a composite of titanium alloys and polymers. It also had great equipment for tracking and stealth. It had an advanced detector, which was a combination of a sonar and a scanner, with a 30 meters range. It could make the difference between something moving from a fixed position and something changing position. Meaning that the reaction given by the branches of plants or trees moved by the winds would be differents than that of something moving from point A to point B. It could also see the rough shape and size of the thing in movement. Many paterns of movements, shapes and sizes were recorded, so it could recognise people, animals, vehicules, projectiles and some machines. It was basically really hard to trick. Equiped with this armor, Proteo got onto the scouting bike and went ahead. The stealth drone could detect many things from above, but not enough to see traces of hidden things on the ground. This time, the drone would be used to find a path usable by the mobile base, and Proteo would scout the path ahead of the vehicules. The mobile base defensive system was placed on suppression mode: the automated machine guns would fire to prevent things from getting close, not to kill. And that''s how their travel within the mountain range started. Robynn would search a good path with the drone, Proteo would scout the path, Tony would drive and Uranus would keep an eye on the close range surveillance system. But the mountain range proved to be more dangerous than the frozen plains. The deeper they got into it, the denser he forest got, thus they encountered more animals, including predators. Proteo came across an animal that looked like a hybrid between a bear and a monkey. The beast was 2 meters tall, with a dense fur whose colors allowed it to camouflage itself in the forest. It was incredibly stealthy and agile. It ambushed Proteo and managed to knock him of the bike before he could aim with his weapon, which was a semi automated shotgun, an advanced version of the H&K FP7. A precision weapon was impractical while moving in a forest on a bike. The shotgun targeted an area to raise the chances of hitting the target, and had a lot of power. Due to the numerous trees, it was hard to have a clear view above 20 meters, and the shotgun was a great weapon at this range, especially agianst tough opponents. Even though the beast managed to knock Proteo off balance with its surprise attack, Proteo was still faster than him and avoided being pinned down by the beast. Most cyborgs had their cybernetics parts focus on enhanced power or toughness, but Proteo had enhanced speed. There were armors that enhanced strenght, and armors were naturally made to be more resistant to agressions, but no armor would enhance the speed of nervous transmissions. After a quick recovery, Proteo swiftly drew his short sword, and in the same movement, cleanly sliced the arm of the beast that was already on its way for its second attack. While the beast was surprised by the loss of its arm, Proteo cut its head. The beast prowess as a predator was really high, able to stike from the trees as well. Its claws could leave serious scratch on the light armor, and its jaw would probably be able to put enough pressure on it to crush it if left alone. They also came across pack of wolves, but more feral than the ones encountered in th great plains. Or more fearless. They ignored the warning shots of the mobile base defense system. They were now resting in pieces. Proteo didn''t have much trouble with them, the wolves weren''t stealth specialists so they were quickly detected and slaughtered by him when they got in range. Proteo would easily break out of their encirclement by killing 2 of them, then move around a little to kill the rest. He was just too fast for them. ------- Due to the amount of danger within the mountain range Tony decided to no longer use the tent for sleeping. The girls would sleep in the infirmary and the guys in the car. One night, as Proteo and Tony were about to sleep, Tony engaged the conversation on a subject that had been on his mind for a while. ¡°So, Proteo. How do you guys feel?¡± ¡°What do you mean by that?¡± ¡°You guys definitly aren''t the same as before we got in this world. How do you feel compared to before?¡± ¡°... ¡ You know, during a time when you were busy in your lab, the girls and I had a talk about it, about our existence.¡± Tony had suspected they could do something like that, but always put it aside. He had always dreaded that those guys would considerably change, especially their attitude toward him. He had always felt anxious about it, wanting to get answers, but fearing the said answers. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. ¡°We have most of our memories from before, but they are a bit blurry, they feel really distant. As for our emotions and feelings... Let''s say that before, we were just shells of what we are now. We were incomplete. Things for which we had no understanding and didn''t care, suddenly became clear for us. I believe the change that happened within us would be comparable to going from a 2D world to a 3D one. Ever since coming to this world, we truly have become... sentient.¡± ¡°... Then, considering everything that happened since your, your ¡°birth¡±... what do you guys think of your situation, of what you have done for me? ¡ What do you think of me?¡± ¡°Robynn is a mutant, an empath. And I''m a doctor. Uranus is a servant, whose priority is your well being. We all noticed that you were uneasy and anxious. It was quite apparent during the first 2 days, then it calmed down. But since we got to the mountain range, it came back again. And you know what? You were most anxious when you had to deal with either Robynn, Uanus or me.¡± Tony bent forwad, his elbow on his knees and his hands crossed under his jaw. He was looking at his feet. His 3 subordinates saw right through him even though he tried hard to hide his unease or ignore it. ¡°You want to know what we think of you? About how you treated us before and what you had us do? You are our creator, and you made us to serve you to the best of our abilities, to obey all of your commands. In other words, we exist solely for your sake and your wishes. We belong to you. If you are wondering if we hate our position, then the answer is no. If you think we hate the way you treated us before or now, the answer is no. Like I said, we have memories of before, we saw how the other treated their created minions, and half of them weren''t treated any better than dogs. Aside from a few quirks, you treated us well, except for Uranus, but she is a special case so let''s brush it aside. Even if you didn''t, we probably wouldn''t mind either. We like you you know! We have no complaints about how you treat us and will probably never have any. As for what you had us do, about our missions, we don''t really care. Wether we do good deeds or bad deeds is of no concern to us, so long as it''s beneficial to us and to you. If we have the choice between a good deed and a bad deed, and both give the same reward, we would take the good deed. If the bad deed has more advantage, we would take it. We come from a harsh place with decaying morals after all. And we aren''t heroes, we have no duties toward the others, we work for ourselves.¡± Proteo took a drink after saying all of this. As for Tony, he was still in the same position, but he had his eyes closed. He was really relieved by what Proteo said, as he dreaded they would leave him in the future, especially since there was a technological civilisation in this world, and he half expected the said civlisation to be human-like. He was also a little sad. They were truly bound by the absolute loyalty and devotion parameter he placed on them when he created them. But they still had some free will, they had their own opinions on things as well after thinking about their past. They were his trustworthy subordinates, and probably his best friends as well. ¡°Thanks. I was afraid you wouldn''t want to stay with me in the future. I feel a lot better now.¡± ¡°You don''t have to be reserved around us boss, just like in the past.¡° Then, Proteo got a mischevious expression on his face. ¡°Also, you don''t have to be reserved and embarrassed with Robynn and Uranus, it''s fine to ¡°tease¡± them like you used to. Knowing that you appreciated them that much made them happy. Especially Uranus, she is missing it you know!¡± he said with a grin. Tony got completely red and turned his head to the window, looking in the distance. He was basically a lone guy with normal guy''s desires and few interactions with real life women, let alone intimate ones. So he sometimes ¡°played¡± with Robynn and Uranus. And all 3 of his subordinates remembered it well. If wanted to dig a hole to hide himself. Tony never really hid anything about himself when he was just with his npcs. Because of that, they probably knew him better than his parents and the few friends he had. After this talk, there were no longer any point showing so much restrain around them. Though he still felt a bit guilty about them being completely bound to him and compelled to obey him. ------- They traveled deeper and higher into the mountain range, until they reached a pic shortly after dusk. They had crossed a bit more than 3 fifth of the mountain range. From there, they got a partial view of the land beyond the mountains. Tony took out the ¡°Eagle eye¡±, an electronic telescope for long range observation. ¡°I can see what looks like a small town. It''s still too far to make out details. I will record its apparent position in the computer and we will move slowly toward it¡± said Tony. ¡°Seriously, even here the jamming remain strong. At least, one thing is certain, their level of communication is equivalent to that of Earth in the second half of the 20th century¡± added Robynn. ¡°Good, looks like we have at least the technological advantage against the natives.¡± ¡°And we will soon meet them. I found a heat source around a day away from here. It wasn''t there on the first passage of the drone, so someone, or something, is preparing itself for the night. I''m already looking for a path to reach the place¡± said Proteo. ¡°Then we will continue to move tonight at a snail pace, we will all stay in the car. Tomorrow we will say ''hello'' to those unknown guys.¡± ****************************** AN: No underwear were found in the mountain range!!! (in response to the first comment of the previous chapter) Next chapter, First Contact!!! Chapter 07 - The target AN: Here is chapter 7 of Tonyrobsky''s adventures in the new world. Enjoy... Maybe... ****************************** The target was around a day travel away from where Tony and his subordinates were, and to avoid detection, they moved toward it slowly through the night. Before dawn, they had crossed around 15% of the distance separating them, and the stealth drone was sent out to survey the location of the heat source. This time it would be flying at a lower altitude to get a good view of what could be around, be it a hidden construction or even the natives. However, they didn''t stop advancing. Tony, Robynn and Proteo drove in turns, 6 hours for each person. During the day they crossed another 15% of the distance separating them. The stelath drone had a limited autonomy so it had to be reloaded, but for the time it spent surveying the area of the target, it didn''t detect any other kind of life forms except the occasional wolf pack and a few herbivorous animals. However, it did detect a suspicious cavern near the heat source, suspicious because it was camoufflaged. At dusk, the heat source was ignited again, no trace of abnormal movement. That night they advanced again, and at dawn they had finally crossed 50% of the distance to their target. For the last shift, it was Uranus who drove the car while the oher were resting. Once the sun started to show, they detached the mobile base and hid it under a electronic canvas, its systems placed on standby mode. It would only react if attacked by something that could cause real damage, or if someone or something tried to get inside. ¡°We are now around half a day away from our target, and moving stealthly with this big mobile base won''t be possible so close to the target. We will advance as much as possible during this day, and we will strike after dusk¡± said Tony as they got into the car. ¡°I''m pretty sure we will find a humanoid life form there. After seeing that weird hybrid of monkey and bear, I wouldn''t be surprised to find some kind of human-like creature¡± added Proteo. ¡°Yeah, it reminded me of an old novel I read some time ago. The novel said that if 2 distant planets share the same conditions, the evolution of the life forms they house will always be very similar. But I can''t ignore the possibility of the intelligent race being some kind of jelly or slime like creature, or even a tentacle monster... I guess that would be bad news for you girls...¡± Tony said while trying to hold his laughter. ¡°You read to much porn. Or maybe you''re frustrated? Want some help?¡± said Robynn with a teasing grin. ¡°... Sorry, no it''s fine...¡± ¡°You sure? Well, if you say so...¡± She could barely contain hr chuckles, Proteo was grining and Uranus was beet red, like always. ------- They moved with the car slowly until the middle of the afternoon, then stopped. From that point, only 3 people would continue. Uranus would stay in the car, while the rest would proceed on foot. It was time for Tony, Proteo and Robynn to put on their battle gear. Tony put on his customised Tesla armor. It was an amor developped by a weapon company for engineering work in hostile environment. The armor raised the durability of technicians and engineers in the battlefield while assisting them in their work on machines and vehicules. Tony enhanced it for stealth battle, the protection it offered similar to that of Proteo''s predator armor, while having some stealth functions and a basic strenght enhancement system. For weapons he took the Chaos Eagle, his customised submachine gun he called MPX, with suppressor. Compared to previous models, this one was thicker but reduced sounds to a great degree. It really could be called a silencer. His last weapon was a short staff, similar to a walking canne, with a hidden short blade in the handle and an electricschock mechanism at the tip. He also had 2 omnitools with him, the technician one and the engineer one. They were all-in-one general tools for mechanic and electronic devices, of course modified by Tony. He also had a few usefull small devices. Instead of the predator armor, Proteo put on the Ashura armor, a full battle armor with cyberetics muscles to increase the power of the user. There were also 2 pairs of robotic auxilliary arms folded in the back. It allowed Proteo to use up to 6 differents weapons while firing in 6 differents directions. Since they didn''t how strong the natives would be, Tony wanted Proteo with as much firepower as possible without impairing mobility too much. The colored paterns on its surface could be changed for basic camoufflage. Along with his short sword, he was armed with a MPX, 2 Chaos Eagles, and the Hydra. The Hydra was a 3 in 1 weapon: a semi-automatic shotgun, a grenade launcher and a flamethrower. The flamethrower used small, high pressured gaz bottles. It didn''t last long and had to be used in short burst, but it remained very effective. He also had 4 types of grenades: the fragmentation one, the concussion one, the stun one and the gaz one. The first 2 were for the grenade launcher, the later 2 were hand grenades. Of course he also had some medical equipment with him. Robynn on the other hand didn''t get any battle armor. Her secondary class was thief, she was trained for infltration and stealth, she had to be light and nimble. Tony made a special bodysuit for her, with polymers, etherium based liquid crystal and etherium based processor fibers. These elements were used in the built-in cloaking system to provide near perfect visual invisibility. The polymers used provided defense above that provided by kevlar and good insulation. There was also a material that worked as a schock/vibration absorber, effectively muffling sounds. She had a tanto and a mini submachine gun as weapon. The mini submaghine gun was called UZI, simply because it was modeled after the famous UZI, though the original weapon was barely used anymore. She also had an omnitech as equipment, an all-in-one detector and hacking tool, which complemented all the sensors and the integrated computer already presents in her bodysuit and helmet. The sheath and the holster of her weapons were of the same material as the bodysuit and contained the same cloaking system. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Of course, made by Tony for her sole use, this bodysuit of hers was very skin-tight, clearly defining her generous figure. As she was calibrating her electronic equipment, Tony was a few distance behind her, his eyes fixated on her body. Seeing an npc in that outfit and seeing a real person wearing it were 2 differents things. He had incredible troubles keeping his composure, yet he had even more trouble looking away. Proteo went next to him and looked at Robynn briefly before turning to Tony and put a hand on his shoulder. ¡°Boss... Well done!!!¡± Tony just gave an energetic thumb up without answering, nor looking away from Robynn''s figure. ------- ¡°Ok, Im done with my preparations. The black swalows are also ready.¡± ¡°Ok, let''s move. Uranus, I''m counting on you.¡± ¡°Yes master, leave it to me. I''ll keep a good eye on all of you.¡± And with that, the 3 of them left. Uranus would stay in the Ranger and use the stealth drone to watch over her comradesfrom above, and inform them of anything noteworthy beyond their eyesight range. As for the black swallows, Tony made them as support scouts in environments with a lot of cover, such as forests and urban areas. The black swallows were modeled after the birds whose name they hold. They were numbering 5, 2 who would fly ahead of the group, 2 who would cover the flanks, and 1 at the rear. Thanks to them, the group advanced at a good pace, with Robynn at the front and Proteo at the rear. They easily dealt with the few animals that crossed their path and reached the area of the target in the beginning of the night. They decided to wait a few hours before taking direct action, and used this time to scout the surroundings of the area. ¡°... Some vehicles must have regulary passed here in the near past, the path they took is still a bit recognisable. I think there are periodic land transportation between this place and the small town¡± said Robynn. ¡°Whoever is here must receive some supplies regulary and spend most of their time hidden underground. They don''t want to catch attention, and the mountains and wild life makes a good defense system that doesn''t attract attention. If we succesfully subdue them we will get A LOT of informations. I''m getting excited!!¡± ¡°Heh? I''m pretty sure you were already excited looking at my body!¡± she replied with a fake hurt tone. ¡°...¡± ''Damn empathy... I never had to worry about it back in the game...'' ------- They were now in front of the hidden cave, and both Tony and Robynn were inspecting it while Proteo was keeping watch. Their helmets didn''t leak sounds so they could talk normaly with their radio. It was a low powered, small range and crypted communication channel so they could speak in hostile territory without drawing the attention of the common sensers and communication specialists. ¡°The camoufflage is quite crude, but good enough to fool someone at first glance. As for the hidden door, it looks like the entrance ot a small fortified wharehouse or an old bunker. That door looks like something from the cold war era, you can bet the opening mechanism is very loud.¡± ¡°Then I''ll just have to cut an opening. And since it''s rarely used, I''m pretty sure there is nobody on the other side!!¡± Tony produced a 30cm long blade from his omni tool. It used pulse laser and vibrations to cut through materials. The door was made of metal and ceramics, but they barely showed any resistance to the blade of the cutter. And because it didn''t offer much resistance, it didn''t leak much noise during the operation. Because the door was quite thick, it took a bit of time to cut open a path with the limited size of the cuter. The 3 swiftly went inside. Of course it was pitch black, but their helmets gave them infrared and night visions. They were in a small cavern turned into some sort of wharehouse, and right in front of them was a truck. Just like the door, it looked like something from the Cold war, and it was slightly armored. There were several crates of diverse materials and supplies placed near the walls, and a few littles machines here and there. At the back there was a large door. A door that would lead further into the secret installation, and to its occupants. ****************************** AN: ¡ My pace is a bit slower than I expected... I start to write a chapter, as I write I start to add a few details, and then I realise that I''m already at the (flexible) limit I fixed for the length of my chapters Why is my cyborg named Proteo? It''s because of this: http://www.arretetonchar.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/IMG/jpg_00b_-_00c.jpg http://www.bedetheque.com/media/Planches/PlancheA_41827.jpg In this old comic, proteo is a cyborg with the ability to shapeshift into any living or non-living things he has seen once. I was so little when I first found in one of my uncle''s house during a summer, I loved it very much. I only remembered about it when I was thinking of the npcs for Tony. That''s why, as a tribute I named the guy Proteo. Chapter 08 - Encounter of a different kind AN: I''m in your base... ****************************** The 3 went toward the door on the back. Robynn inspected it, looking for some kind of annoying security device, but nothing serious was found and Tony cut it open. He basically cut a door within the door, he didn''t tjink the hinges of the door would be silents. There were wide stairs beyond, going down, and a soft humming sound could barely be heard. They continued forward, but not before Tony placed a communication relay on the ceiling. The communication relays were also equiped with movements detectors. If anyone came near, they would know, quite usefull to avoid having someone coming from behind on the path you took without you noticing. ¡°A truck, stairs, their size. Looks like our natives are quite similar to humans, even with their constructions. Too bad Tony, there will be no tentacle play for your entertainment!¡± said Robynn. ¡°I don''t even like tentacles plays, I always skipped those parts in my porns. But it was a bit funny in ecchi animes because of how ridiculous it was, but I would rather see ones without it.¡± ¡°You 2 are getting distracted... But I guess it''s normal for you to relax considering the technological level. Our equipment is several decades ahead of them. But we still know nothing of their physical abilities. Or psychic abilities if they have some..¡± Proteo''s reminder calmed the other 2 and they resumed their advance cautiously. At the back of the stairs there was some kind of hall, and from there were 2 doors, they could go to 2 differents directions. Tony said that the largest door was probably for equipment, so fter placing another communication relay in the room they went to the normal sized door. Then again, Tony cut it open, and this time there were lights on the ceiling of the corridor they found themselves in. Just like the stairs, everything seemed to be carefully carved in the rock. There were no cover on the walls and ceiling, just naked rock. There were, however, steel frame reinforcing the corridor every now and then, and several conducts on the ceiling. The air in there was warm and slightly damp. There were a few doors in the corridor, 2 on each side and 1 at the far end. Robynn stopped at each door, trying to detect anyone using her sensors or sensing the emotions of anyone who could be beyond. On each door, she would try to detect anything, and then Tony would cut the door open. There were nobody in the rooms. There was a big kitchen, a dinning room, something that looked like a living room, and a training room. They went to the last door at the end of the corridor, there were stairs leading furhter underground. Downstair they found themselves in front of another door, which was again cut by Tony. There was another corridor with 5 doors, 2 on each side and 1 at the end. ¡°There are peoples here... many people in the closest rooms... Some of them in the right room are awake, 3 people. There is nothing in the range of emotion I can feel that indicate that they noticed anything.¡± ¡°Go and see if you can detect other people beyond the other 3 doors.¡± She complied and went to check them, then came back. ¡°Nothing in the next 2 rooms, 2 persons in the last room.¡± ¡°OK, let''s incapacitate them. We will start with the room on the left, Proteo you keep an eye on the other rooms from here.¡± Tony started to cut open the door when Robynn interrupted him. ¡°Some of them woke up!!¡± ¡°Shit, looks like it will be noisy! Proteo, get the people in the right room when I start and try to avoid killing them. Robynn, hide and cover the last room!¡± Proteo got in position to force open the door of the right room and charge in, while Robynn activated the cloaking system of her bodysuit, disapearing from sight. When Tony cut the doors open, he always started with the locks, so the door was already unlocked. Tony, Robynn and Proteo had their submachine guns equiped with suppressors and since they came to their target, they switched the real ammos with rubber bullets. This way they could knock out the enemy with silents weapons. Proteo didn''t want to use any chemicals products in case the natives reacted badly to it. No sleeping gaz, no anesthesic bullets. They would rely on brute force to subdue them. ------- When Tony opened the door, it creaked loudly, waking up everyone in the room and catching the attention of the 3 other awake people in the next room. At the same time, Proteo burst open the room and pointed his 4 weapons at the occupants of the room. Both Proteo and Tony got really surprised by what they saw. Tony was at the door of a room with 8 bunk beds of poor quality. Within the room, 8 humanoid figures. With animal ears and tails. 6 mens and 2 women, in clothing as poor as their beds and the rest of the furnitures in the room. They had thick collars at their necks, with a round piece of etherium at the front. Seeing him, they retreated at the back of the room, fear evident in their eyes. Proteo also found himself in a similar room, with 6 bunk beds separated by wooden covers at the back of the room, but near the door there was a round table that could handle 6 people. 3 people were seated there with a small lamp in the middle of the table and cards in their hands, while 5 people could be heard waking up from the sudden noise. The 3 people in front of him were short, stocky, and with deep red skin. Th furnitures in the room were of decent quality. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. Tony, Proteo and the occupants of the rooms didn''t move. ¡°... Beastmen?¡± ¡°... Red dwarves. I think¡± ¡°... Are you guys serious? No way, you really are serious...¡± ¡°Robynn, any moves from the people in the last room?¡± ¡°No, still asleep.¡± ¡°Proteo, try talking to them.¡± After several short attempts, the conclusion was that the language they spoke was completely unknown. They were already expecting it, so they didn''t really care. With the prisonners they would take their time learning anything they could. ¡°In games, dwarves are supposed to be tough. Proteo, how do they handle ruber bullets in the head?¡± Proteo shot the closest red dwarf in the head with his MPX. He fell from his chair out cold, a bruise forming on his forehead. One of the second dwarf reacted to the attack on his friend with a short cry of grief and horror. Proteo advanced slowly toward the guy he knocked out, his weapons still pointed toward the other occupants of the room, and quickly observed him. ¡°Seems to work just fine. He''s out. But I don''t think it will last long, these guys really seem tough.¡± ¡°Robynn, are they still asleep?¡± ¡°Yes¡± ¡°Then reappear and come here. The guys in my room are clearly non-combattants, and clearly afraid, I doubt they''ll try anything. I want you to restrain the, the red dwarves while Proteo keep them from trying anything.¡± Robynn entered the dwarves room. ¡°Whoa, they really are red dwarves! And they probably received proper soldier training. I sense a bit of fear, a decent ammount of anxiousness and anger, and a lot of defiance and determination. Completly different from your beastmen, Tony. I sense a bit of hate, but a lot of fear, confusion and resignation. Ah, some of these dwarves seem to like my body.¡± ¡°Now it''s certain, those beastmen are slaves, and forced to work here.¡± Robynn used some tape to firmly tie the unconscious dwarf. Of course it was highly resistant tape made to restrain people. It took less space and weight than ropes, chains or manacles. The restraining tape was widely used, and quite handy for capture missions. Then Proteo knocked the other out and helped Robynn restrain all of them. Then they restrained the cowering beastmen and went to the last room with the 2 people. ------- They didn''t bother with stealth and Proteo forced the door open. The 2 people in the room suddenly jolted awake while throwing their blaket awake. What Tony, Proteo and Robynn found were 2 muscular red dwarves naked in the same bed. And from the way they woke up, they must have been sleeping while cuddling. There were still some traces of body fluids on their well seized penises. Tony''s mind went blank for a second and he staggered backward. Robynn stiffened. Proteo just raised a surprised eyebrow under his helmet. ¡°¡°WHAT THE FUCK???¡±¡± Tony and Robynn instantly shot the 2 dwarves unconscious and hastly left the room. ¡°What''s so strange with 2 men sleeping together?¡± ¡°DO YOU THINK I WANTED TO SEE 2 NAKED MALES DWARVES AFTER THEIR FUNNY SESSION IN BED???¡± ¡°... I feel sick, I don''t think I''ll be able to sleep later...¡± ¡°What has been seen can''t be unseen, deal with it. Besides, I believe we''ve seen worse than this.¡± ¡°This shit is horrible in a whole different way!!!¡± said Tony while pointing at the room. ¡°Let''s move, not all the beds were occupied, so some people must be in the other part of the installation. Let''s quickly knock them out and leave this place. I need some fresh air.¡± Tony opened a communication channel with Uranus. ¡°Uranus, you can come with the Ranger.¡± ¡°It''s good to hear you... Is something wrong master?¡± ¡°Don''t remind me of it!! Never mention it!!¡± ¡°!!! Yes master!¡± ------- They went back to the hall below the wharehouse, and this time they went toward the large door. The humming sound got a lot louder once Tony cut open a path. They quickly found themselves in a laboratory. Their sensor dtected a large amount of etheris in the place. There was a large amount of machinery and other strange devices. From the look of it, they were conducting experiences with weird materials, etherium and etheris. The 4 missing red dwarves were conducting texperiments from a safe place while 6 beastmen were working near the dangerous elements. The last 2 beastmen were being eperimented on, screaming in pain. From the look of it, it wasn''t the first time they were being experimented on. After observing for a bit, they forced the dwarves to stop the differents devices with hand movements. Then they knocked out everyone. ¡°With that done, Proteo, Robynn, go back up. Once Uranus comes, send her in and go get the mobile base. Bring it within 3 hours from this place on foot.¡± ¡°Interested in what they were trying to do?¡± ¡°Yeah.¡± ¡°Why do you want Uranus to be here while we get the mobile base? Do you plan to have some fun with her to clean your mind? You''re so lucky to have that option.¡± ¡°... I just wanted to have her take care of the slaves, don''t go and put weird ideas in my head. And don''t remind me of that.¡± ¡°Like you ever needed us to get weird ideas!¡± ¡°...Just get out already...¡± ''That girl will make me lose my self control someday'' ****************************** AN:... Beating your dudes Chapter 09 - Installation AN: GO ROBYNN, URANUS!!! BREAK HIS DEFENCES!!! ****************************** While waiting in front of the entrance for Uranus to come, Proteo opened a private communication channel with Robynn. ¡°Aren''t you teasing the boss a little too much?¡± ¡°I don''t think so. The way things are is not good enough. I want to get rid of his hesitation and have him open to us like he was in the past.¡± ¡°There has been progress I think. Why the rush?¡± ¡°Progress, yes, but not enough. Even now he shows a lot of restrain. You know, I''m jealous of you. Both Uranus and I are.¡± ¡°Why is that?¡± ¡°Before, he was equally open to all 3 of us. Now, he is most open around you, less around me, and even less around Uranus. He hasn''t been very talkative, and he was being distant. You''re lucky to be a guy, he is more comfortable around you.¡± ¡°I see. He is still feeling guilty about our loyalty and affection toward him. To him, it''s as if his tools suddenly became humans, tool with whom he went through a lot. He already liked us before, and he still like us. However, since we have truly become humans, he can''t treat us the same way as before. Because he like us, he can no longer just treat us like tools. Seeing us so loyal to him, he must feel like he robbed the freedom of his friends.¡± ¡°Yeah, I felt his guilt. But you know, ever since we came to this world, today is the first day he joked with us. Heck, he even told me about his tastes in porn! He lowered his guard and I want to use this opening to completely smash his resistance. Once he let go of it, it will be a huge burden taken of his shoulders. Beside, I think that young man should let some steam of!¡± ¡°It''s good and all, but you should be more patient. There are 3 charming beastwomen slaves here. He may use them to relieve himself instead of going toward you or Uranus if you excite him too much. Because if it''s someone he doesn''t really care about, there won''t be much guilt in using them.¡± ¡°... That would make Uranus cry. Can''t let that happen.¡± ¡°You should go the traditional way. Casually standing shoulders against shoulders next to him, linking arms or holding hands once in a while, little things like that. As for Uranus, this is the perfect opportunity while we go and get the mobile base. She should use this time to do what she hasn''t done since the beginning of this trip.¡± ¡°I see. Thanks a lot little Proteo!¡± Robynn leaned her head against him, and in response he just put an arm on her shoulder. Since gaining sentience, Robynn came to think of Proteo and Uranus as some kind of little siblings as she was the first one created by Tony. Naturally, they started to see her as some kind of big sister as well. It was not in their programming, but knowing they were made by the same person may have brough a strong sense of kinship between them. ------- In the base, Tony was observing the quipments and materials used in the experiments. Then again, because he was concentrated on the task, some knowledge became available to him. After a little while, it became clear that everything in there revolved around etherium and etheris. They were looking for a way to use it in an unexpected, or forbidden manner. That made him curious about the current usage of those elements in this world. ¡°Boss, Uranus is here, we will be leaving now.¡± ¡°Wait a bit before leaving, there are things I need in the Ranger. Tell her to come down with my laptop, 3 swallows and the surveillance kit.¡± ¡°The guy are securely bound, what would that be for?¡± ¡°Language. I want them to talk with each other, record their conversations and have the computer analyse everything. I also want to monitor them as they work, and their exchanges during their work.¡± ¡°Right.¡± A little later, Uranus appeared at the entry hall with the requested equipment. He hid a recorder in each of the 4 rooms of the first level in the living section, and a few at key points of the lab section. He charged another program in the swallows. They were made to look like real birds, and this program was to make them act like tamed birds. They would cover the places the recorders couldn''t see, and move around to provide differents points of view if necessary. All those devices were connected to the laptop and the language deciphering program. Then he went with Uranus to the dormitory floor. She had a swallow on each of her shoulders, while the last one was left in the entry hall. They went to the slave room, he gave her a cutter and she started to remove their restrains. As she did so, one of the swallow ''causually'' flew and placed itself on top of shelf. ¡°Uranus, make sure they clean the room, the next 2 rooms are the shower rooms and toilets. Have them clean themselves, their clothes and their bedroom clothes. It''s in a pitiful state, and since we will be staying here for a little while I don''t want troubles, especially since they are used in the lab.¡± If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡°You''re living me alone with them?¡± ¡°I''m pretty sure they know they will suffer if they try to do something to you, or even to the ''bird''¡± he replied with a light tap on her shoulder. Tony went to the dwarves room with the other swallow. The guys were all awake, and in a gloomy mood. As they stared at him, he placed his swallow on a shelf, cut the restrain on one of them and left him with the knife. He motioned toward the others and the guy freed his comrades. He then took a seat at the table and activated one of his biggest pride among the things he developped: the sleepwalker. It allowed one to sleep while the armor stayed vigilant for him. The armor would move by itself using the strenghtening mechanisms to use the weapon if necessary. It would shut out all sounds from outside, and wake him up with the timer, if he was called or if sounds of weapons resounded nearby. All the dwarves in the room were marked as hostile prisoners, and wouldn''t be allowed within a certain distance. Like that, he relaxed and fell asleep within 30min. Uranus, Proteo and Robynn got the notification on their communicator that their leader was resting. ¡°For one who wanted to stay cautious, the boss was quite quick to relax.¡± ¡°Well, he finally found and secured a good and isolated source of informations about this world. It was his primary goal, of course he is happy! And almost every pieces of equipment he owns were made or modified by him, his trust in them is maximal.¡± ------- The next day was a rest day for everyone. Tony and his group settled in the living room of the base, while the dwarves and the beastmen were still confined in the lower floor. For once, Tony really allowed himself to relax, and Uranus, following Proteo''s advice, decided to use all her skills to please him. As her primary class was entertainer, she had good skills in musique, and as a servant she was also skilled in massages. First, she gave him a complete massage in the infirmary, in the nurse outfit he had designed himself. The outfit was skintight, with a heart shaped opening on the chest and a short skirt. She purposefully placed the massage oil on the shelf behind her, and he couldn''t help but stare at her butt each time she turned around to get another of oil. When she massaged her front, he had a wonderfull view of her shacking E cup bosom. Later that day, back in the living room of the base, she had put on her dance outfit, which, as you can imagine, was skimpy. The front looked like a smaller version of princess Leia''s slave outfit, while th back was all strings. There were a few decorative and transparent fabric bands, giving the impression of a skirt, but it didn''t hide her buttocks much. Tony was mesmerized by her beauty, her curves and her grace as she was dancing for him, harmoniously mixing latine dances moves with belly dance. The sensual dance only put emphasis on her glorious beauty. That was a critical strike for Tony. ------- The next day, all the prisoners were cleaned and gestured to resume their works, except for 2 people, a dwarf and a beastman. Proteo used anesthesiants and sleeping drugs on them while slowly raising the dosage, and see how they reacted to it. At the end of the day thre idn''t seem to be ny problems, they reacted to the products the sme s the humans, though they had higher resistance, especially the dwarf. Tony and Robynn were keeping a discret eye on the dwarves while Uranus was monitoring the slaves. The day after, the same dwarf and beastman were put to sleep and transported to the mobile base. There, Proteo examined them thorouly. He did all kind of scans and measurments, took tissue samples of all part of their bodies, including the nervous system and bone marrow. He was learning everything he could about them. The next day, 2 beastwomen and a beastman were taken for thorough examination, 2 of them being the ones who were experimented on. This time, Tony was present to ''supervise'' the examination of the womens, and for some reasons, Proteo took more time with them. The complete analyse of the datas would take some time, so while waiting, Proteo would do diverse experimentations while Tony put his own equipment in the lab to observe and analyse the dwarves'' experiments. Robynn and Uranus were stuck playing guards and head maid. ****************************** AN: Finally, they will be able to make a lot of progress... In all kinds of ways... Chapter 10 - Progress and progress AN: It''s been a little while since the last chapter. Enjoy. ****************************** The hidden dwarven base contained a lot of written documents, but there were no maps aside from those about the area around the base and the town. Most other documents books and papers of scientific content: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, etherium and etheris, and most likely records about all the experiments they made. Tony and Uranus spent quite a lot of time scanning them. The translation program was running non-stop day and night. The dwarven alphabet was a bit similar to a mix of runic german and celtic alphabet. However, not a single letter was the same as one from Tony''s original world. As for the spoken dwarven language, it sounded like a mix of swedish and russian. Tony was a bit worried the similarities would lead to mistranslations, so, with Robynn he made a subprogram that wouldn''t take them into consideration. As for the beastmen, their spoken language was like a mix of italian, arabic, and bantoues tongues. However, the ones residing in the base didn''t seem to know their own written language. Or maybe, there wasn''t a proper written language. Also, just like the dwarves didn''t have the skin colors we expected from them, the beastmen also had a different skin color that what was shown in the entertainment industry. Their skin tint goes from orange to brown, hybrid eyes between human and anials, and their hairs are closer to animal ones. ------- The place also had a few weapons, mainly sledge hammers, big heavy crossbows and high caliber hunting rifles, 10 of each. The dwarves were all both fighters and researchers, and they regulary spent some time in the training room. Tony and Proteo had calculated that, with their physical strenght and the power of their weapons they wouldn''t inflict serious damage to their armors. Except if they aimed for the head. And then again the damages wouldn''t be critical, if they didn''t get more than 1 clean hit with their sledghammers, which was the most damaging weapons they had against armors. These burly guys had thick and powerful muscles after all. With proper equipment they would be dangerous in melee battle. And Tony and his servants were faster. Proteo did have a sparing session with a few of them, unarmed and without armor. They did have explosive power, their strenght was about the same as Proteo, but he was much faster than them. After him, Tony challenged them as well. He didn''t know any martial arts in his previous world, and in the game he was supported by the system, less than for scientific activities, but there was still support. He wanted to see how he would fare against them in hnd-to-hand combat. It was a landslide victory for him. In the game, he had reached level 11 in martial arts. He had started with Muai thai, brazilian jiu-jitsu, taekwendo and bartitsu. He had raised each one of them separatedly until they merged into martial arts when he got them to level 10. So he was supposed to be quite good in each of them. He naturally remebered the training he went through and tried to apply it without the aid of the system. It was a success. He had assimilated the fighting skills he learned in the game as if it was real life. He overwhelmed and overpowered his dwarven opponents one after the other. Tony had forgotten that he was one of the strongest player in the game, and that in his group, he was the strongest. Because he had designed Proteo to be tall, well built, and sort of the tank of the group, he tended to think of him as the strongest. With that sparring session, he was reminded about his own battle ability and the level difference beween him and his subordinates. It also made the dwarves realise that the people who took control of their place not only had incredible equipment, but were also very strong. It was clear for Tony and Proteo that it was a big blow to their pride nd self-confidence. Robynn, however also noticed a growing respect from them toward her 2 teammates. She got really proud of her beloved master and little brother and stayed in a really good mood for the rest of the day. Uranus was more than a little proud. Since she had little fighting ability she rarely had the occasion to see Tony in action. The few times she could see him, he was using his guns, either strolling in a place with weak enemies or using high firepower against a wild beast. It was her first time seeing him fight others warriors. He was only in training shorts, with his upper body naked. Seeing him gracefully dealing with the dwarves made her heart beat faster and her body hotter. She almost had sparkling eyes. At the end of the sparring session, she decided to give him a massge. But it was more for her than for him. She got the urge to touch him and caress him, and hid it under the pretense of a massage. Tony noticed the furious blush and the quick breathing rythm she had during the whole massage, and got a good idea about the state she was in. It was a good thing she started with the front, because when she took care of his back, Tony got a hard on thinking about how she must have been between her legs, and remembering the last time she danced for him. And her massaging his butt didn''t help. Thankfully, by the end he had managed to calm down and his dragon went back to sleep. ------- One evening, while the 4 humans where resting in the living room (which they had converted into their private quarters), Robynn talked about something she noticed. ¡°Hey, little Proteo, you''re quite the lady killer aren''t you?¡± ¡°What are you talking about?¡± ¡°There is a certain beastgirl who seem to be interested in you.¡± ¡°Yes. I''ve noticed that the fox kin often look at you when you are in the area. She looks at you much more than the other.¡± added Uranus. ¡°Is that so? I didn''t notice...¡± ¡°The fox girl? She is the one who is used in the experiments. It must be because you''re the one healing her when she is hurt.¡± Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original.¡°Gratitude toward a savior? I would buy it if it wasn''t for the fact that noone of us tried to stop the experiments, we didn''t even try to make them less painfull for her¡± said Robynn. ¡°But she is clearly attracted, interested in you, and she respects you.¡± ¡°She is a pretty woman with nice curves. You can just take her once we are done with this place and make her your pet. Or a servant, like both a nurse and some kind of squire.¡± said Tony with a grin. ¡°That''s right! Little Proteo is a guy, of course he need a girl to take care of him. And since she was used in experiments, having her with us for observations or more experiments would be good. Also, she is more familiar with this world than us.¡± ¡°Well, the idea of having a pretty servant is nice, but I will have to teach her too much from scratch. Rather than making my work easier, she will give me more.¡± ¡°Little Proteo, even if she gives you more work, she will also help you relieve stress at night. And on the long run, it''s a win situation.¡± ¡°Besides, since she has basiclly been tortured, I''m worried about her state of mind. What if, at a certain time in the future she goes psycho?¡± ¡°Then just raise her well. Make her release whatever she is holding back early. It will also be good observation concerning slave beast girls psychology. I''m sure we will find many more in the future. And we have Robynn.¡± ¡°Thinking about it, what do you intend to do once we know enough? You don''t want to attract attention, but the guys here know us and they''ve seen some of our equipment. Words will reach their superiors and we may have people after us. It will be hard to move.¡± ¡°He is right. If we keep them alive, news about us will certainly reach people with power, and they will try to get us. We will have to silence them... And the most secure way would be to kill them...¡± ¡°I know. I don''t want to kill them, but I also don''t want them to reveal anything about us. The only thing I can think of is erasing their memories through a surgical operation, targetting parts of the brain that react to certain stimulus. ''Intruders'', ''strangers'', ''advanced equipment'', ''unknown technology''. Those 4 worlds together would make them think of us, and we target the areas of the brain that hold informations about us. We will have to do that to 24 people. There will be bad aftereffects for some of them, but it''s better than death.¡± ¡°... I think I can do something like that. We have really good equipment, but nothing that good to deal with the brain. It will be rough, and it is certain that all of them will sufer from aftereffects. For some of them it will be severe. And with their medical knowledge, as far as I can tell, nobody will be able to provide proper treatment against those aftereffects. For some of them, the result may be similar to shattering the knee of a prof athlete. For some, dying might be better.¡± ¡°That will be sad for them. But there are 26 people here, why are you talking about 24 oprations. I understand you excluding the fox girl, but who is the second one? Do you also want one of those girls? You already have me and Uranus though. Aren''t we enough? You''re such a perv!¡± ¡°... I want to take one of the dwarves with us. He would certainly be more knowledgable about the world than a slave, who would have limited access to any source of informations. And I''m not interested in dog girls and rat girls. I want some feline girls, rabbit girls and cow girls.¡± ¡°Mmm... Master? I-I have a bunny outfit if you want... And... Hmm... I also have big breasts...¡± Tony looked at Uranus, completly stunned, as if struck by lightning. Even though she had her head bowed, it was clear that she was furiously blushing. She was griping her maid skirt with both hands, her arms pressing her chest and enhancing her already captivating bossom. She was also slightly squirming. She looked both very cute with her beet red face, and sexy with her assets and modified maid outfit. After the first second of surprise looking at Uranus, Proteo and Robynn turned their gaze toward Tony, who was still looking at Uranus while blushing. Proteo hid his mouth with a hand, thinking that his boss trapped himself, and Robynn started giggling. ¡°She is right Tony. Why looking for a feline girl when you have this lady that would put catwoman to shame near you?¡± She said while showing off her bust and turning to the size so he could have a look at her butt. She even put her foot on the chair to show off her leg as well, and finished seductively blowing a kiss his way. ¡°Meoow!¡± she said in a sexy tone, and with the hand motion that goes along. It was a critical hit. Robynn could feel Tony''s arousal grow at a fast rate. Even though he was sitting at the table and it was out of view, she knew he was having a raging boner. As for Tony, at this point he was in trouble. He knew that a rejection would hurt Uranus'' feelings. But he also knew that if he cheered her up, considering the subject, it would be the sam as saying ''I will play with you'', which he wanted to do. But he still felt akward and guilty for the girls. But the most important factor was probably his lack of experience with girls. Then he decided to stop thinking. ¡°You girls don''t have to worry. You''re gorgeous women and you will always be my favorites¡± he said while blushing and looking to the side at nothing in particular. ''Great opening!!'' though Robynn. She went around the table, warped her arms around his neck and sat sideway on his lap. Then she put her lips on his own, and he warped an arm around her waist by reflex. They stayed like this only for a few seconds, but for Tony it felt longer. ****************************** AN: ¡°Control, control!! The wall has been breached!! Retreating to the final defense line!¡± Chapter 11 - Information gathring complete AN: Been a little while, enjoy! ****************************** With Robynn on his lap, Tony had his boner pressed against her warm tight. That woke him up from the daze her light kiss put him in, and he was overcome by embarrassement. At that point, Robynn granted him mercy and left him to go to Uranus side with a victorious smile on her face. But Tony''s relief was short lived. That night the 2 girls squeezed themselves in his bed, in dark blue transparent negligees, without bras, Robynn wearing a cheeky and Uranus with a g-string. He was lying on his side when Robynn came in from the front and Uranus from the back. Worst, Uranus warped her arm around him and pressed hrself against his back, while Robynn pressed herself gainst him from the front. He could feel Uranus'' breath and her glorious bossom changing shape on his back, and a little later he felt the hardness of her niples through the nightwear. On the front he had to deal with Robynn''s breath on his neck, her breasts ob his chest, and the enchanting smell of her hair just below his nose. And if that wasn''t enough, she got a leg right between his, and once more his dick got into contact with her tight. ''Holy shit!! What am I supposed to do now? Those girls are just too sexy! They are just too hot!! At this rate I''m going to fall!! More like, it''s already too late, they are just too charming...'' His hand slowly slided on Robynn''s arm, moving to her back and landing on her ass. The feeling of her warm, round and toned buttocks was incredible, and he almost lost himself. ''No, I can''t do it in the same room as Proteo. I don''t even think I could handle both of them at the same time. I''m not prepared for that. Heck, I don''t even know if we can procreate. If we can, all the more reason to stop now since I never had anything to prevent pregnancies in my possessions... Well, in the worst case Proteo could perform an operation, but I''d rather avoid it. Let''s do it some time later, one at a time with nobody else around.'' After enjoying Robynn''s butt for a few more second, he caressed Uranus'' hand that was on his chest, and bid them good night. Nedless to say, both Robynn and Uranus got incredibly disappointed by their master stopping when they though they would go all the way. Their only comfort was that he didn''t try to run away from the intimate physical contat. He even gave them a morning kiss the next day (a simple one). ------- The translation program started to show some results, and Tony focused on the texts about mathematics, physics, etherium and etheris, while Proteo inspected the ones about biology, geology and chemistry. The translation program wasn''t perfect, so some suggestions had to be input manually. The context had to be taken into consideration. Associted with the analyse of the voice recordings, reviewed by Robynn, it increased the speed of the translation further. In fact it improved the transaltion to the point where it was quite understandable (AN: Those who like to read untranslated novels, imagine machine translations, but better). There was a sub-program that would update the database in real time through the eyes and ears of the black swallows. They were now able to understand most of what the dwarves or the beastmen were saying, in front of them, or in the privacy of their rooms. They learned that the world was called Calandoris. They were in Ginesis continent, in the dwarven country of Bleighmung, the nearest town was called Vastak, an industrial town. It seemed like the form of government from this country was some kind of oligarchy, where a small number of warriors and scientists, the best, ruled the country. Apparently this country was young, a piece of a federation that broke appart after a war. It was not one of the better country in the area in term of politics and economy, but it had a good army. They also learned that there were 4 dominant races in the world. At least, from Tony''s point of view. From the native point of view there were only 3. The dwarves, with their red skin and high physical ability, the humans, with either white or yellow skin, and the elves, with either blue or green skin. After seeing the dwarves and the beastmen, Tony and his subordinates did expect the presence of human and elves. But reading about them in the biology book was still a little surprise. The fourth dominant race, not acknowledged as one by the previous 3, was of course the beastmen. It looked like they appeared around 3000 years ago. They are considered an inferior race by the humans, elves and dwarves, and are used as slaves for anything a slve can be used for. In elven, dwarven or human lands they have no rights. Most of the member of their race seem to live in another continent, a continent with a poor environment, and the only place where they can be free. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. Another surprising thing they discoered is that the native can manipulate etheris to a certain degree. A third of the elven population has that ability, around 15% for the humans and 5% for the dwarves. Those etheris users can manipulate it to perform certain actions classified under 4 categories: manipulation, emission, reinforcement and transformation. Etheris users are only good at 1 or 2 of these actions, not more. Etheris hasn''t always been present in this world, and it was not that long after its appearance that the beastmen came to life. And that was also one of the reasons the beastmen were used in experiences in this base. The dwarves were looking for a way to artificially gift people with the ability to manipulate etheris. Though the percentage of beastmen with that ability was even lower than the dwarves, they seemed to have a weird connexion with etheris. That etheris was similar to mana in fantasy games was a big surprise to Tony. Etheris users were mages. He came from a world with a different kind of etheris, and seeing as etheris was the same as mana, he started to think of something always found in fantasy setting. Enchanted objects. Tony was an engineer, a crafter. The possibility of adding special effect to his belonging using etheris was very attractive. But it also made him think of the quality of the weapons and equipments the other countris of this world might have. If ''enchanting'' was something sufficiently known, then the offensive ability of the fighting forces of this world could be on par with what was mainstream in Cataclysm Online. The research facility they were residing in was too small to be something government funded, probably the work of a small group of people, with equipment just good enough for their objective. Things might be more complicated and dangerous outside of that area. ------- ¡°I think we should leave this place soon.¡± said Tony. ¡°We have gathered enough informations about this world to leave the mountain range and go near the town. We will be able to obtain more detailled informations there.¡± ¡°I feel the same, Tony. It''s about time we leave this place. Besides, I want to go in the town, it''s been a while since the last time we''ve been in one.¡± ¡°If that is so, I should make preparations for the operations, this will be tedious. Thinking about it, which dwarf are we going to take with us?¡± ¡°It won''t be as tedious as you think, I''ve prepared plans for a device that could be usefull for you since some time ago before the change of world. For your other question I''ve selected 3 people, and I''ll choose one of them. Of course Robynn is going to help me choose the one less likely to create trouble later. I also need to make appropriate restraining devices for him. And something for the fox girl, just in case. I''m going to get the mobile base, I''ll see you later.¡± ------- After a few days of preparations they acted. The operations to erase the memories of the dwarves and beastmen would last 3 hours per person. There would be 5 oprations per day, so it would last for 5 days. For 5 days all members of the hidden lab would be kept unconscious, being vaguely awake only during the first stages of the operations. The hidden base was also tampered and damaged to erase as much trace of their pesence, making it look like someone came to steal the research results and sabotage the place. The owner of the place would set their eyes on their rivals, instead of some otherwolders. The fox girl, named Yria, and the dwarf man, named Rhodin, were also kept unconscious during that time. After 6 days, they left the place. Tony, Proteo and Robynn were in the armored car with the 2, still unconscious, and restrained prisoners. This time, Tony was driving, Robynn next to him and Proteo at the back, between the dwarf and the fox girl. Uranus was driving the mobile base, 100m behind them. They advancing toward the industrial town of Vastak, with the stealth drone scouting the path. ****************************** AN: Poor Tony didn''t get the chance to devour the 2 girls... Or maybe I should say poor girls, that didn''t get to eat him? Chapter 12 - Leaving the mountains AN: Sorry for the delay, laptop problems and other things +18 content (though it will be a little less detailled than what I wrote in The Hybrid or Aenthar) ****************************** Tony was driving, with Robynn at his side, the fox girl behind him, Proteo next to her and the dwarf prisoner on the other side. They had awakened 2 hours earlier, confused first, then really worried. The dwarf guy was called Baddon. He quickly realised that the intruders had left the hidden lab for good, and that they took him prisonner because they still needed him. Worried, he tried asking about their fate. He was surprised to get an answer since it was obvious they didn''t know the language before, and relieved to know his comrade were still alive. However, they didn''t tell him that they might suffer from the after effects of the surgery. Baddon was now anxious about his fate. He knew they kept him for a purpose, but he didn''t know why. He wasn''t the smartest, or the most knowledgable one in the team. He wasn''t a group leader or an executive. So he wasn''t the best target to get infomations from. It couldn''t be because of his background either, he was just the second son of an average military family. There were a few with better background than him. He wasn''t the strongest either. Not knowing why they choose to keep him made him very worried about his future. As for the fox girl, named Vilni, she was really surprised at first, but relaxed. She would no longer be used in those terrible experiments, that was what mattered the most to her. She was still a bit sad for her kin that would remain there. She was also relieved to be with the strangers, especially the tall one. He reminded her of a beast, a strong predator, dangerous. But he was not like a mindless or bloodthirsty creature. When he took care of her, he wasn''t brutal, he was firm yet gentle. His everydy demeanor in the base showed that he was a caring person toward his friends and allies. He had a neutral attitude toward the dwarves and beastmen, he wasn''t treating them badly, but wasn''t particulary nice either. He dealt with them with a minimum of respect. He dealt with the beastmen with a minimum of respect, which ws something they never experienced from other races. That was what attracted her to him, aside from the fact that he was very handsome. She was a slave, bound to serve someone, and if she had to choose, she would rather be his. In fact, she was happy to be sitting next to him, even though she was lightly bound, but that was a natural precaution for them to take. She didn''t really understand why they decided to take her at first. She wasn''t a researcher, she wasn''t well educated, and they already had someone with the role of a servant. She though that maybe they kept her because of her involvement in the experiments. That scared her a bit, but she calmed down. Even if they used her in experiments again, she was certain it wouldn''t be like what the dwarves did. She though that if she showed an obedient and cooperative attitude, she would be well treated. Even though they were all prisoners in the base, those strangers didn''t harm or torture them, be it dwarves or beastmen. So long as they behaved, there were no problems. So, she was sure that by being obedient, even in the face of a painfull experiment, she would well taken care of. ------- ¡°Tony, some big dark clouds are moving toward us from the back. It looks like a big storm is going to hit us in a few hours. A snow storm, maybe a blizzard.¡± ¡°I see, I expected something like that. Even though this planet is bigger than Earth, the length of the days is the same. It means Calandoris rotate faster than Earth, so the weather perturbations would be stronger due to the coriolis force. Storms and hurricans are bound to be stronger than on Earth. We got lucky to not get caugh in one of them when we were further north, where there was barely any cover. Since we are in the mountain range we can find a place to stay which can shield us from the strongest winds.¡± ¡°I''ll look for one right now. Still, that storm looks really big, I wouldn''t be surprised if it lasted a few days, espcially after what you just said.¡± Later, they found a spot where the terrain would provide a good cover against the wind, without risk of landslide. They put out 2 tents, their usual ones, and a spare one for the captives. The tents were placed between the 2 vehicles for additional protection. They decided to stay there until the end of the storm, and Tony went to his lab. He wanted more infos about the weather of Calandoris so he activated several devices to monitor the storm. He wished he had access to meteo satellites for more accurate measurements. He also wanted t finish the product he was working on. He had finaly accepted the girls feelings toward him, but even with that he couldn''t take the final step without precautions, meaning childbirth control. In short, he was working on a condom. He wanted something ultra thin and resistant. It was mostly complete, he was making the final tests. With satisfactory results, the final product was done. At that time, Uranus came in with his meal. Seeing her when he had just finished making the condoms got him really excited and he decided to go all the way with her. She was about to leave after placing the tray on the table when he slapped her butt. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°Hyaaa!! M-master?¡± ¡°Who said that you could leave?¡± he told her with a fake angry tone and a mischevious grin. Grabing her buttocks more firmly, he pulled her toward him and made her sit on his lap. He put an arm around her waist and held her close. ¡°It''s a servant duty to feed her master!¡± With blood dying her face, neck and ears crimson, she nodded charmingly and put the tray on her lap. It was glaringly obvious that she was very happy about the situation. ¡°P-please, hm, o-open wide!¡± And he obliged. Like tht, for the minutes that followed, she fed him lovingly. When he finished his meal, she prepared herself to leave with the dish, but he stopped her once more, holding her by the waist in front of him. ¡°The meal isn''t over.¡± She slightly tilted her head in confusion. In response he bent forward and lifted her skirt with both hands, fondling her ass and pulling her toward him again. She ended on his lap once more, facing him with her legs on each side. ¡°You are the dessert!¡± And he kissed her passionately. She warped her arms around his neck and reciprocated the kiss. She stopped a moment to take off the top of her maid uniform, and Tony used this moment to take care of a few things on his computer. First, he locked the door of his lab, then, he opened his musical folder, used the filter function and selected a few songs to play on the mediaplayer, all instrumental songs. Of course the ones he selected were well suited for kinky situations. Hearing the music, Uranus smiled in embarrassement, and started dancing on his lap, while ocassionally kissing him. Tony had Uranus learn many kinds of dances, including pole dance and lap dance. And right now she was giving him a devastating lap dance, with her gorgeous breasts swaying in vrious directions, barely held by her bra. The pressure in his groin quickly reached the optimal point, and he took off his own shirt, and her bra. The 2 beautifull mounds jiggled as if happy to be finally freed, and he hungrily took the one in his mouth while fondling the other. ¡°Aaanh!! Master!¡± He sucked, fondled, bit and pinched them with a lot of vigor, making his servant moan, and sometimes yelp, with each breath she took. And she never stopped moving her waist. While sucking her breast, Tony extended his hands to her belly, her back, her armpits and her neck, caressing them. He then used one of his hand to fondle her buttocks, and later slid it under her string to reach her already damp pussy. ¡°Hyaaann!!¡± And they continued for a bit, him sucking her breasts, occasionaly licking her neck and kissing her, playing with her pussy, while she continued with her lap dance, shivering and moaning in pleasure. And she came, resting her body on him while shivering and breathing heavily. Once she recovered, they both stood up slowly. She got rid of her skirt and string and Tony got her to face the chair, her hands on top of the --- and a knee on the seat. She was bending forward, her driping pussy in full view for him. Tony dropped his pants and released his dick from its prison, under the expectant and lustfull eyes of Uranus, who was swaying her behind left and right. He put on one of his condom, grabed Uranus waist with one hand while aiming at her wet crack with the other. After rubing the tip against her crack he slowly put it in, and within a few second he got all the way to her cervix. Uranus leaked a small cry when he tore through her hymen, and moaned loudly when he got all the way in. She was squeezing him hard due to the pain and overwhelming excitement. Tony almost came from the sensation of her pussy warping around his meat rod. After a few seconds both of them used to regain their bearing, he started to move, slowly at first, then increasing the speed over time. Both of them started to moan more, and Uranus started to move her hips in rhythm with his own movement. From time to time he groped her breast, or she would turn her head toward him and they would kiss. They were moving frantically, overcome by the pleasure they felt, and people outside would have heard them if not for Tony making the lab (and the infirmary) soundproof. Before long, both of them climaxed, and slumped on the chair, shivering and basking in the afterglow. Tony was the first to recover, and the sight of Uranus slumping on the chair with her legs and pussy open got the blood rushing to his groin once more. He took a second condom, lifted Uranus, sat down on the chair and put her on top of him. She barely had the time to prepare herself for round 2 when he plunged it deep in her in one swift stroke. And they went at it again, with her on top, making full use of her dancing skill in another fashion. They were fucking with less nergy than the first time, but they lasted longer. They stayed in each other arms for a while after that, the music still flowing in the room, alongside the sound of heavy breath, and the smell of sweat and sex. ****************************** AN: Captain resistance: ¡°The final defense line fell... Men, it was an honor working with you!¡± -salute- -Armored Dick Tank with extra Condom armored plates blasted through the wall of the HQ and killed the resistance- Chapter 13 - Heart AN: Been a while! Here, new chapter. ****************************** After enjoying each other'' body warmth for a while, they cleand themselves up and Uranus left the lab, brimming with happiness. It was getting late after all, and with the bad weather it was best for everyone to settle early. Proteo stayed in second tent with the dwarf, Baddon, and the fox beastgirl Vilni, while Robin and Uranus used the regular tent. The tents were placed between the armored car and the mobile base, protecting them from the wind. The original plan was to have the 2 captives in the second tent and the group of 4 in their tent, but when Robin noticed the erotic waves coming from the mobile base, she had a quick chat with Proteo. He left with a grin on his face. Once Uranus got back to the tent, Robin looked at her with a knowng expression on her face. Seeing that, Uranus blushed furiously, but still had a smile on her face. Robin motionned her to come closer and Uranus snuggled happily at her side, and Robin started to caress her hair. ¡°Eh, it looks like you had a very enjoyable meal with Tony, right?¡± ¡°... Well, yes.¡± ¡°I have to know, how did you do that? Weren''t you just bringing him his meal? What did you do to make him act?¡± ¡°I didn''t do anything, he is the one who stopped me when I was about to leave... I think it was because of that...¡± ¡°And what is ''that''?¡± ¡°... Well, you know, we never did anything before right? ¡ I mean, before we came here. We never had to use anything like a condom, right?¡± ¡°Thinking about it, it''s true... Wait, you''re saying he didn''t do anything before because there were no contraceptive? But isn''t that still the case? Wait, did you tell him when your safe days were?¡± ¡°NO! ¡ It''s not that. He made them, the condoms. I think he finished them when I came in...¡± ¡°... Somehow, I feel defeated...¡± ¡°... Are you angry? You''ve been with him the longest out of all of us after all...¡± ¡°... It''s true, I''m disappointed I wasn''t Tony''s first. But I''m not mad at you for that. You''re the one who loves him the most after all. I''m happy for you, so evverything is fine ok?¡± ¡°... Yeah...¡± The 2 girls hugged each others for a while, and after listening a bit more about what happened, they went to sleep. Robin didn''t want to sleep at first, but since Tony showed no sign of coming after a while she gave up on waiting for him. Actually, Tony was too embarrassed after the deed to come out of his lab. He also understood that he got swept by his desire and was a bit ashamed of himself. He ended up sleeping in his lab. ------- The next day, Tony woke up earlier than usual. The wind was blowing with tremendous power outside, and the temperature had dropped quite a bit. The snow storm was not to be underestimated one bit, it was a very good idea to look for a decent place to stop until it ended. The strongest winds passed above the place where the vehicles were stationed. After cleaning himself, Tony left his lab and went to the tent. Robin was already awake and working on her laptop. Uranus and Proteo were nowhere to be seen. Tony tensed for a second, seeing that he was alone with her after remembering what he did the day before. As he was trying to hide his anxiousness and guilt, he realised it was useless because of Robin''s psychi ability. He went to greet her normally. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. ¡°Good morning beauty¡± he said as he took her in his arms. ¡°Morning¡± she answered. But when he was about to kiss her on the lips, she dodged and kissed him on the cheek instead. Then she freed herself from his embrace and went back to her laptop. ¡°... You are angry, aren''t you?¡± ¡°Angry? No I''m not. I''m disappointed, a lot. Before you say anything, no, the fact that you took Uranus first isn''t the main problem.¡± ¡°Then what.¡± ¡°I am the first follower that you created. I have been with you the longest, I''m the elder among the 3 of us. And I know I''m your favorite among the 3 of us. Despite that, I wasn''t chosen as your first woman. Even with all my efforts, you chose Uranus over me. That hurt me, I admit it. But as I said, it wasn''t much of a problem since it''s mainly because of me that your lust reached such height. It just happened that a gorgeous and willing woman was near when you had dirty thoughs, said woman is my beloved little sister, so I''m happy for her.¡± ¡°The real problem, is that you ran away from me afterward. Instead of joining us for the night, you hid in your lab, unwilling to meet me. I''m your first follower, your favorite, and you ran away from me again. You avoided me during most of the trip until now, and when I though things were changing for the better, you avoided me once again. Right after being completely open with Uranus.¡± Robin had tears streaming down her face. She had never felt this kind of pain before, she felt rejected by her master. For the first time in her existence, she cried. Listening to her words was like being stabbed in the heart for Tony. And he also understood that the pain he felt now would not be equal to what she was feeling. Of course Robin has always been special for him. It was just as she said. Yet he caused her pain again. He was unable to ay anything, and just tightly hugged her. She fiercly hugged him back, leaking a small sob once in a while. He kept her firmly in his embrace, gently stroking her hairs. ¡°Don''t you dare ever run away from me again. Or from any of us.¡± ¡°I won''t.¡± ¡°And once we reach the town you''d better take me to a nice restaurant, then a nice hotel.¡± ¡°... I will.¡± ¡°Until then, no happy time for you.¡± ¡°...¡± ¡°...¡± ¡°... I understand.¡± ¡°Good... I love you Tony.¡± ¡°And I love you, Robin.¡± ------- While the storm was ongoing, the group didn''t stay iddle. Vilni was learning some tasks from Uranus, and also learning the language. Baddon was questionned about his country and the surroundings one, about the currency and other bits of general knowledge. These questionning sessions were also used to improve the translating program. Vilni was a diligent student, and Baddon was being a cooperative prisonner. The fact that nobody was mistreated probably helped a lot. After the storm, they resumed their trip toward the town. This time they didn''t use the drone to scout ahead. The drone used an ether battery, and since the people of this world were more familiar with ether energy, Tony was worried they got some capable radars. They stopped a good distance from the town and waited for the evening to infiltrate it. ****************************** AN: ... Chapter 14 - Hints AN: It''s been a little while ****************************** Under the cover of the night, Tony and Robin infiltrated the town, their bags full of equipment. Even though it was night, there was still quite a bit of noise, mostly due to the many factories located in there that were still active. The air was quite polluted, but it wasn''t unbearable either. The town was lacking in diversity of colors, a lot of brown and grey, and the technological level was similar to that of the years 1940/1950, lower level than the secret research facility in the mountains, but still understandable to some extend. The best technology is never readily available for the public. In their stealth equipment, Tony and Robin advanced in the city, moving from rooftops to rooftops and placing sensors on the way. With their enhanced physical abilities and strenghtening suits, it was an easy feat. Tony and Robin acted separately to cover more ground, staying in contact with the comm. ¡°... It feels like we have gotten into a time machine and went back into the past...¡± said Robin. ¡°... Yeah... The hell, is it me or is the music the same as the one from earth at the same period?¡± ¡°It''s just as you said, master. Personally, I find it pleasant.¡± said Uranus over the comm. Solid brick building, instead of the metal, plastic, cristals and other composite materials used in modern buildings. No large glass surfaces except for some shops and luxurious manors. Old style cars and trucks, noisy, with low horsepower and releasing a lot of smoke behind them. A small train station, train with steam engines. ¡°... Then I guess I won''t increase the size of my audio library... Still, as expected of a town at the back of a dwarven country, barely any humans or elves. Even the beastmen are hard to come by. Proteo, anything interesting the sensors picked up?¡± ¡°No, they don''t seem to use ether in this town. Just coal, steam and gas. Electricity is furnished by a thermal powerplant. Anything you would expect from a town of the middle of the 20th century. However, if it''s outside of the town, then it looks like there is something interesting. Robin, I''m sending you the datas.¡± ¡°Ok. Tony, please wait for a moment.¡± ¡°... Wow...¡± ¡°What is it Robin?¡± ¡°Tony, we really aren''t the only ones who have come to this world. Our equipment is quite sensitive to radiowaves, so we can pick up transmittions from quite a distance. And our decoding programms are quite good. We picked up some cripted transmissions from this country, and from the neighboring ones. These communications seem to be reports about an armed group of unknown affiliation that appeared at the frontier of this country with 2 others. They possessed advanced equipment and weaponery, and are actually secretly wanted by the 3 countries. They seem to have appeared at around the same time as us.¡± ¡°That''s not all...¡± ¡°Found something else little Proteo?¡± ¡°On the local news radio, it seem like unidentified flying objects have appeared in a human country a small distance away from here. It sounds like how there were reports of UFOs back in the 20th century. It wouldn''t be strange if the rumor of aliens being there started to spread around.¡± ¡°Great... Now anything unusual will be carefully checked by the authorities of the differents countries. Moving around with our vehicles will be a pain in the ass. I don''t know if we can properly camoufflage the armored car enough to avoid suspicion from afar, but the mobile base is just too damn big. On top of that, we don''t even know how many transmigrants there are, and how much equipment they got with them...¡± ¡°You really are set to avoid others a lot Tony. Aren''t you being overly cautious? Isn''t it fine to join hands with the other people from earth, at least at the beginning? It isn''t good for any of us to be isolated in this world. There is no country protecting us, and they would probably be too greedy over our belongings.¡± ¡°...¡± ¡°If we ally ourselves with other earthlings, we should be able to deal with the other countries and etablish a safe place for us in this world. In an RPG, it would be like etablishing our safe, starting village.¡± Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. There has always been good players and bad players. The bad players were the ind that would always try to do shit to either players or npcs, just for the sake of creating more chaos, for the sake of plunder and slaughter. Being in the same place as those kind of people was something Tony didn''t want to do. There were a few Dark Guilds in Cataclysm Online. Tony believed that only hatefull people at heart would tae so much efforts and pleasure in ruining the lives of others. They had nothing to do with assassins groups and bandit groups. It could be said that the assassins groups were neutral, and if the bandits groups were bad, then the dark guilds were downright evil. There were also those people that usually acted properlly, but started to change once they gained more power. Those people that got corrupted by power and became more aggressive. There were also those people that would get overexcited with their newfound freedom of action, those people that always seeked for a different world to become the heroes of their own stories. There was also a fair number of self-righteous guilds. But the guys in those guilds could become to confident and conceited. It wouldn''t be too strange for them to see themselves as the only righteous ones. Then there were the guys who only cared about having the highest levels and the best equipments, and who didn''t care much about the lore. Tony was one of the best engineers of the game, one of those with the most technical and scientific skills, all reaching at least level 10. His mobile base contained all of his creations and knowledge, all of it was of the highest quality. How many of those dangerous players stayed until the end of the games and arrived in Calandoris? He didn''t know, and didn''t want the result of all his efforts to be stolen by greedy and treacherous bastards. ¡°... People from our world aren''t trustworthy. The change of environment can turn the respectable ones into suspicious ones, and those already wicked would be even more dangerous.¡± ''The ones who got transported here were most likely the ones most reluctant to part with the games, those who have enjoyed the journey, and those who didn''t like the real world, like me, or those who had dark desires in them, things they couldn''t outside of a game...'' ¡°Some people may indeed be trustworthy, or be the kind that would turn for the better... But the others... It''s a risk I don''t want to take. I can accept to meet them, but I will not team up with anyone. I have the mobile base, I have you guys, that is enough for now...¡± ¡°And we love you too, Tony.¡± ¡°Of course.¡± ¡°Y-Yeah.¡± ¡°...¡± ''¡ Haaaa, I said something embarrassing.'' ¡°Hu hu hu, I can tell you''re blushing, Tony.¡± ¡°Shut up! Let''s find some detailled maps of the area, the country and the world. We will look for a good location for a gathering, then send a message to invite the closer ones for a meeting... Wait! There is still no communications on the frequencies used on Earth?¡± ¡°Nope, nothing boss.¡± ¡°... I don''t like it. Out of all the people that should have been sent there, there should be someone looking for other earthlings, and thus regulary sending messages on those frequencies, or ask for help, or exchange informations. There has been nothing since we left the jamming of the mountain range?¡± ¡°Now that I think about it, you''re right Tony, it''s really weird...¡± ¡°... Let''s remain silent for the time being. Robin, once you have the maps and some books, find a newly made vehicle that can carry 4 persons to steal in one of the factories. I will upgrade it later and we will use it to move around in the open. Tell me when you find one.¡± ¡°Understood.¡± Thus they stayed in the town for a few hours, sneaking in houses, shops, libraries and factories. They left with their spoils without attracting attention on themselves. ****************************** AN: Some recommandations : Sole Survivor by IHW, Atros Imperium by Terry78, The Meaning Of Life by Kolderim, Re:volutionist by Mirrond, The Grey Imperium by Eserngo, The Defective Hermit ¡ Chapter 15 - Tracking AN: It''s been a little while, enjoy. ****************************** After finishing their shopping in the town, they went back to the mountain range, but not that far from the town. They had to make preparations for their trip within the dwarven country. ¡°Ok, with everything we brough back, things will be less thorny¡± said Tony. ¡°First, we''re illegal aliens here, so, Robin, make us some good identification papers.¡± ¡°Will do Tony. But who are we supposed to be?¡± ¡°Simple, I''m a youth who inherited some money from my dead grandfather, you''re my fiancee and we are on vacation. Uranus and Proteo are our servants. Baddon will be a guide and bodyguard we hired for our trip, and Vilni will be his assistant.¡± Among the thins they have done in the town, was goin into government and administrative buildings to get copies of importants documents and papers. They couldn''t spend their whole time sneaking around and evading people. They were stuck in this new world after all. They had to adapt, and blending in the surroundings would help with both stealth and integration. ¡°Make us a good backstory, with the 4 of us coming from the same place. This way, us getting along well and acting so friendly with our ''servants'' wouldn''t be weird. I will even make us some photos from the past that we keep with us. While you take care of that, I''ll be uprading the vehicle we stole, and I''ll have Baddon assist me. Uranus and Proteo, you continue to instruct Vilni in turn.¡± ¡°Tony, don''t forget to make some money, we will need it in town. The bed at the research lab were nice, but I''m sure the ones in a hotel would be good as well. And they will definitly have some nice food as well. And some drinks.¡± ¡°Hey, Robin, that''s mean! Are you unhappy with the food I make?¡± ¡°Hahaha, of course not. But are supplies are limited, so the receipes are limited as well. It''s a new world, let''s enjoy the new food as well!¡± ¡°Not so fast Robin. What makes you think that we can eat everything here? We may have allergies to some of the things here. I''ve been monitoring our health since we came here, true, there hasn''t been any problems so far, but it doesn''t mean there won''t be. Some products from another area may be bad for us. Don''t you agree boss?¡± ¡°Tony''s cautiousness is rubbing of on you.¡± ¡°Not really. I''m your doctor, I have to make sure you stay healthy and don''t eat anythin bad... You don''t want to poison the toilets, dont you?¡± ¡°... Fine, I get it, you don''t need to say anything else.¡± ------- The vehicle they had stolen was a small van that could accommodate 7 people, with a small space for luggage. Surprisingly, the controls and seats could be adjusted for either dwarves or non-dwarves. Tony had no intention to modify any visible part. However, he intended to upgrade the innards. The mobile base had the necessary tools for that, including a small crane to lift the engine or even the whole van. A temporary shelter was erected around the van and the mobile base so Tony and Baddon could work without minding the weather. He wanted Baddon to assist him to familiarise him with their level of technology, though what they were going to make wouldn''t come that close to what he owned. At least, if necessary he could have the dwarf be usefull with engineering problems that could be delegated. The van was disassembled. He first strenghtened the frame, then completely remodeled and upgraded the engine. Not only that, he added electric motors as well. He improved the suspension as well. The van was now 4 wheel drive vehicle, but it wasn''t the first hybrid vehicle to see the light. Some hybrids gas-etheris were already being developped. The gearbox and the steering were improved as well. Light sheet of titanium alloy and polymers were inserted into the body of the van. The tires were strenghtened with polymers as well. The van had become twice as fast and half as hungry as before, and it was also a lot more tough. Though Tony didn''t expect to run into trouble with it, he wouldn''t be helpless if troubles came to him. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.------- Tony and Baddon were putting the van back together, Uranus was preparing the food, Proteo was instructing Vilni in the infirmary. Robin was reading some books in front of the monitoring screen when its display changed and a bipping sound startled her. She immediately pressed the general communication switch. ¡°Proximity warning!!¡± The scouting birds Tony had were used to patrol the area. He originally had 5 of them, but made an additional 4 on the way to the town. Those 9 drones were used to keep an eye on the surroundings, in a 400m radius around the mobile base. They were equipped with a shape recognition software to differentiate between humanoids and animals, and to recognise weapons. When a non-humanoid creature was detected, the drone would send the caution signal. But if it was a humanoid creature, it would send a proximity warning. Tony had designed the system like that because dealing with humans was different from dealin with beast, and he didn''t want to be distracted by some random animals who would come close. Besides, the drones had strong sensors, it would detect active electronic systems, and those were considered weapons. In short, a drone with an animal form or an animal with some equipment on it would be recognised as a weapon and trigger the proximity warning as well. Since they had come to this world, there had been a lot of caution warnings, but it was the first they got a proximity warning. While everybody else were packing up, Robin used the touch screen to get details about the situation. Several windows opened. On one of them, there was a map of the area centred on the mobile base, and some orange blinking points were presents on the edge of the map. The others 2 screens were video feeds from 2 drones. ¡°It''s a patrol of 6 dwarvens soldiers, along with a human soldier. They are around 350m away from us, and slowly closing in. I think they are lookin for us.¡± Tony''s mood darkened while he was putting on his armor alon with Proteo. ¡°I can''t believe they''re here. How could they have tracked us? The snow should have hidden our tracks, we didn''t use the radio, nor did we use the stealth plane drone. They don''t even have dogs, and even if they did, it''s been several days already, many other creatures passed in the area... Just how did they do this?¡± ¡°I don''t know, but they''re cautiously coming straight toward us. Uranus, hurry and come here, I need-¡± ¡°I''m already here. You can go.¡± ¡°Thanks.¡± ¡°They are 300m away now¡± said Uranus. ¡°Uranus, try to locate the team leader, I want him alive for interrogation.¡± ¡°Yes master!¡± ¡°Boss, how do we deal with them? Do we kill or neutralise?¡± ¡°... Killing them would worsen the disposition of this country toward us illegal aliens...¡± ¡°Tony, it''s already too late for that! We attacked their research lab and harmed their scientists. Besides, the ones that appeared near the neighboring countries already killed people. There is no use going easy on them now...¡± ¡°... I see.¡± ''Still, to kill people... I knew it would come someday since we came here... Taking someone''s life. Will I be alright after doing something like that?'' ¡°... Tony? What are you so anxious about? It''s not the first time something like that happened to us? They even have worse equipment than us. There is nothin to be worried about... Aside from the mean they used to find us...¡± ¡°...¡± ''¡ I see. For me, everything we experienced before coming here was a game. So there was no guilt or pressure when killing others. But for those 3, it wasn''t a game. It was reality. They are already used to killing. But I''m not... Am I really ready to kill? For real?'' ****************************** AN: See ya!
