 Chapter 1: Sudden Calamity

    Rei wiped his sweat that came from his forehead as he tried to listen to the discussion of his teacher. ''God damn that forecaster said that it''s going to rain today, but what do I get? A fucking bright sun,'' Rei cursed. Although the temperature was nowhere hot than of the countries near the equator, for a person like Rei, who lived near the pole, it was unbearably hot.


    The year was 2130, and a lot of strange things have happened in the world. The North and South pole had melted, and a lot of countries in the world have submerged underwater. But humanity seems to be the embodiment of cockroach as they never gave up without trying. They built floating cities in the water and had created countless things that would make the people of the 21st century go green with envy.


    However, life was still full of depravity and deception. The government deceived the masses and in turn, the masses believed the lies of the government. The rich ruled the poor and the poor serves to the wealthy; such is the cycle of life. Although a lot of people knew about the current situation what could they do? Individuals who tried to protest before did not stand a chance, and they were quickly dealt with. It served as an example of those who sought to oppose the ruling body. Thus, the people chose to be quiet.


    Rei, who is seventeen years old, was one of the individuals who knew the truth behind the current predicament of the world. What can he do to the government which had ruled the world for years since the start of the 22nd century?


    Rei was lost in his thought as he gazed at the window beside him. According to the old books he once read, this part of the world was supposed to be freezing cold, only people who are out of their minds would try living in this kind of place. But now, it was unbearably hot. If he told the 21st-century people that it was this hot, they would surely laugh at him for being stupid.


    But the situation now was not comical and instead it was the truth. Rei shook his head, trying to stop the useless thoughts that flowed in his mind. He stopped gazing at the window and took a bottle of water in his bag to quench his dying throat. But before he can do that, his body froze and he cannot move by a single inch.


    He was shocked and at the same time afraid as he tried to move his body again. But his efforts was for naught as his body completely refused to move. Rei tried to think ways to make his body move from this bizarre situation, but no solutions came up from his mind. ''Is this a new kind of disease?'' Rei thought as he completely gave up on moving his entire body.


    He tried moving his fingers first slowly and carefully if it will work, but before he could do that, vertigo struck him. It caused his eyes to see stars and thunder to rumble in his ears. In a blink of an eye, it caused his body to fall. Rei started cursing in his mind as the face of death met him on the ground. He remembered his family and his friends. He remembered every moment in his life until he lost his consciousness.


    By the time Rei woke up, his nose was assaulted by a smell he never once encountered. It caused his stomach to churn and when he saw chunks of bloody meat that was littered on the floor, the acid in his stomach came to his throat and within seconds, he was vomiting.


    He wiped his mouth with his shirt and sat on the ground. He tried to remember what happened before he lost consciousness in the room. Shock filled the face of the youth as he remembered what happened. "My body stopped moving, and I passed out, it was also very hot..."


    He tried to move his body again and was worried if it did not move properly. But, he released a sigh of relief from his mouth as he saw that his body was fine. He started to look around, but he instantly regretted his decision as chunks of meat greeted his eyes. "If I did not vomit before, then I would surely vomit now.


    Rei wanted to inspect those chunks of meat but he was afraid that it was not a normal one, so he started to look for survivors in the room. Rei did not found a single person in the room, but what he found completely surprised his mind. It was a blue box, located in the upper right corner of his vision. When Rei found it first he thought that there was a blue box on the table, and he did not pay any mind to it, but when he moved his vision, the box surprisingly followed!

    It did not take long before Rei noticed that the box was actually following his vision. Rei abruptly shifted his head to turn right, and he still saw the box! He turned left, closed his eyes, and still, the box was there!


    "Is there a problem with my eyes?"


    Rei theorized in his mind; he tried to remember any eye disease that he knew that would make a blue box appear in their vision. But Rei, was not an expert in the eyes, nor he was an expert in diseases, so after racking his head three times, nothing appeared in his mind.


    He thought of other types of diseases, "If the problem does not lie in my eyes, could it be that the problem lies in my brain?" Rei remembered on how he fell to the ground with his head first. It made him think that it must have caused some damage in his brain that would get him to see the blue box in his vision.


    Rei accepted his theory, but it also puzzled him, on why it was blue and why is it a box. There were also chunks of meat on the floor, not only its appearance was grotesque it even had a nauseating smell that would make ordinary people cut off their nose. As he thought more about his current situation, it made his mind dizzy.


    "Did someone prank me?" This was his first thought about the matter, but he instantly rejected the idea.


    "Although those rich kids would ignore the rules sometimes they would not blatantly make someone unconscious in a middle of the class and spread weird meat everywhere."


    He thought more of his situation and how could''ve it happened, but as time went forward, it only made him confused and unsatisfied. Suddenly, when he thought about his current situation, a sudden flash of insight appeared in his mind. ''Could it be that ''it'' happened to me?'' Uncertainty filled his mind as he thought about the possibility that it would happen.


    Rei loved the books of the 21st century, and he read a lot of books about it. He once tried reading a 21st century novel from the Eastern part of the world, and he was completely hooked on it.  Rei read everything, ranging from comedy to tragedy and summoned to reincarnation and he also read that this kind of situation would frequently appear in those novels!


    His modern mind told himself that it was not possible, but as he thought about his current situation, he quickly tried it.


    "Open Blue Box!"


    Rei shouted, using all of his lungs to make a loud roar. But nothing happened, and he was quickly embarrassed. His head reddened from embarrassment, and he lowered his head in shame.


    Rei hated the government; he hated on how they would restrict the poor, and he loathed the arrogant faces of the rich. His family was not wealthy, nor they were poor, they were right in the middle. However, in front of those people who have money and power, they would sneer at them like bugs! He escaped reality by reading books and by chance, he discovered a forum that satisfied his mind.


    He hoped that kind of ''situation'' would happen to him, but his head reminded him that it is only a story. Thus, that dream was buried in the deepest part of his brain. Although it was buried deep in his brain, his current situation made his dream surface in his mind again. He knew that it was impractical and abnormal, but he gritted his teeth and steeled his heart as he said those words. But in the end, reality struck him, and a wave of depression rose from his heart.


    Suddenly, his body sagged as he felt a pressure comparable to a mountain landed on top of his body. His mind trembled, and it urged him to sleep. Rei fought back trying not to sleep because he feared that it would be his last, but his efforts were futile and within seconds, he was fast asleep.


    *Blue Box Activated*


    A rumbling voice echoed throughout the world; it shook the hearts of the people, and it made their minds tremble. Thus, on that day, it was referred to as the ''Sudden Calamity.''

 Chapter 2: Where is my cheat?

    Rei woke up groggily; his head was aching, and he felt like his body just took a beating. "What happened...?"


    Rei remembered that he fell unconscious again after he unsuccessfully tried to activate the blue box. Recalling the situation made his face blush again in shame.  "Ah, there''s no reason to be ashamed, I''ve only tried it since the situation is similar," He nodded his head as if he''s trying to convince other people to believe in his words.


    After trying to assess the situation, he woke up from his thoughts and opened his eyes. He expected that chunks of meat would greet his vision again, but this time, what greeted him was a blue screen. Rei was dumbstruck as he stared at the blue screen for minutes. "H-how could this be..."


    Rei rubbed his eyes, but when he saw the blue screen again, his heart pounded excitedly. "Heavens, is this for real? Or did I hit my head again...?" Rei wanted to be sure, so he closed his eyes and lightly punched his head. He hoped that the blue screen was real, and it was not just a hallucination.


    When he opened his eyes, his heart tightened, and his body shook. If other people saw him like this, they would assume that he is having a seizure! But, of course, it did not happen to Rei. His body shook because when he opened his eyes, the blue screen remained. Tears came down from his fiery eyes as he laughed hoarsely at his current predicament.


    In front of him was a blue screen, it showed him two options which were: ''Status'' and ''Shop''. The excited Rei whose body was shaking up and down raised his arm and unsteadily pressed the Status option. He was expecting something to happened, but his fingers passed through the almost transparent blue screen. It made his mind go blank as a wave of shock and depression hit him.


    Rei tried to press the option again, but the results were the same! As if the blue screen had a mysterious power, every time Rei would push the status option it would make his hands pass through it! It made Rei furious, "Are the Gods tricking me?!" A moment ago, he was excited like a bee, but now he looked like a person who had used drugs hours ago.


    A dark aura loomed over him as he tried to punch the blue screen. He punched it, kicked it, threw a broken chair, but his efforts were for naught and in the end, he gave up.


    "Ah, why am I so unlucky?"


    "Not only a blue screen is stuck on my vision; I even believed that I was transported into another world!"


    He let out a heavy sigh as he sat on the chair and pondered on how to get rid of it.  "Fucking Blue screen, fucking status, ah, why must you bully me. I''m only an average person, studying in a cooking school, why did this happen to me?"  Rei raged and cursed loudly, trying to get the disappointment and anger out that came from his heart. But, at this very moment, after he finished his sentence, the two options disappeared and what greeted him surprised his weary heart.


    It was a status screen; it displayed his name, age, stats and a lot of other things that would usually be seen in a game. After seeing the change of the blue screen, Rei''s eyes went wide, and his brain exploded in shock. "Could it be..." Countless thoughts flashed in his mind as he wondered on how did the blue screen change. Within seconds of thinking, his head turned red from shame and he had the urge to bury his head in embarrassment. "Such a simple thing, how could I forget?!"


    "I should have said ''Status'' in the first place..." Rei muttered as he remembered his previous actions on trying to activate the status. He did a lot of punches and kicks; he even tried to smash it with a broken chair! It made him lower his head unconsciously as he recalled his unsightly actions. But it made him wonder on why he would be mad for such a simple thing, but the question did not interest him much as he quickly forgot about it and looked at the blue screen.

    Rei quickly noticed that his stats were all at the value of ten. "Is ten the  default value of the stats or would body builders get more?" Rei pondered curiously; he expected that he would get a cheat from his stats like those in the novels, but he found out that his stats were quite normal. But, after thinking about this matter, Rei quickly shook his head in disagreement. "If my stats does not have any cheat, then is the blue screen itself is a cheat?


    He thought about it for a few moments and found it very convincing. In other novels that he read the characters would only gain the blue screen and not any other cheat, that''s because they would be the only one who would possess this type of power. But, Rei did not give up this time as he assiduously tried to find any uncanny ability. Rei looked at his skills and found out there were three, the names of the two were quite ordinary, however, when he read the third skill it quickly piqued up his interest.


    Rei tried to raise his arms to press the skill when he suddenly let out a smirk and quickly put it down. "Hmph, you can''t trick me anymore!" He let out a light laugh as he said ''Inspect Intimidating Aura'' in his mind. A new blue screen appeared in his vision, and he quietly praised himself for quickly thinking the solution.


    Intimidating Aura (Active) Level: 1 EXP: 0.02% Mana: 10


    By activating the skill, one would release an intimidating aura that would scare anyone depending on their strength.


    Range: 3 meters


    Rei previously expected that it was not a cheat skill, and when he read it, he was mentally prepared. But, of course, everyone wants a cheat skill, so after reading it, he couldn''t help but curse again. He knew that he shouldn''t be greedy, but seeing the skill once again in his eyes made his heart hurt. Rei took a deep breath and calmed himself down.


    He closed the screen and inspected ''Punch'' next.


    Punch (Passive) Level: 1 EXP: 10.32%


    +1% Increase damage in punching.


    +1% Increase speed in punching.


    Rei had a surprised look on his face as he read the description of his skill. "+1% damage and +1% speed, yet it''s still level one..." He quickly imagined what would the effects be once it would reach level 10 or 100.


    "If it''s +1 per level then it would be 100% at level 100!" Although he did not know what kind of damage does a 100% give, but just by seeing the numbers made him excited.


    "I''ve only done a couple of punches, yet it''s already 10%. HAHAHAHA, I''ve struck gold!" Rei jumped excitedly as if he got a new toy, he quickly closed the screen and inspected ''Kick'' next.


    Kick (Passive) Level: 1 EXP: 3.32%


    1% Increase damage in kicking


    1% Increase speed in kicking.


    Joy found its way to Rei''s heart, although he was not sure what is the maximum level of the skill he was still pleased with his current situation. "If I can get skills this easily, then that means..." Rei laughed evilly as if he was about to commit a nefarious plan. But before he could celebrate wholeheartedly, he heard a groaning sound that came from outside.

 Chapter 3: Am I strong or are they weak?

    Rei''s eyes narrowed, as he quickly looked at the door there he saw something that would only be seen in movies, a zombie. With its disfigured head and one eye it made its way to the room and saw Rei.


    He was quickly frightened being looked at by the hideous zombie, but he regained a bit of his confidence after seeing that the zombie had no arms.


    Rei stared at the zombie in shock, and he quickly gathered himself up to start thinking. His first plan was to throw the broken table and chairs to the zombie and escape through the door, but when he saw the zombie move like a turtle, he hesitated for a moment and discarded his previous idea.


    He quickly took a broken chair''s leg beside him and decided to throw it at the zombie to probe its defenses. Rei threw it like a Spartan, deftly and accurately. At least, that''s what he thought. When Rei threw the chair''s leg, it did not travel past a meter before it fell.


    Rei had the urge to facepalm himself, but he focused himself on the urgent situation. He gritted his teeth and steeled his heart, he took a table and ran to the zombie. With a low grunt, he smashed the table at the zombie''s head. A grin broke out of his face but when he felt no resistance his countenance paled!


    "It dodged...?"


    Rei left the table and moved back; he eyed his surroundings to look for the zombie. But surprisingly, he did not found the zombie! Rei had a confused look on his face as he quickly looked back at the table. Underneath the table desk, there seems to be something that sticks out. It was gray and had black spots on it and within seconds Rei recognized that it was the zombie''s leg!


    "Oh my god... Was the zombie weak or am I that strong?"


    Shocked filled his heart as he saw the revolting scene in front of him. Almost all of the zombie''s body were squashed, and only the legs remained! Countless questions passed through his head as he scrutinized the body of the zombie. He saw numerous worms squirmed at the zombie''s legs wanting to get out and seeing this situation made Rei''s head dizzy.


    But before the situation could get any worse, he heard a bell sound and a voice that resounded throughout his ears. It was not loud, nor it was soft, it just had the proper volume, and it was very pleasing to the ears. Rei did not know why but when he heard the bell, something in his heart was satisfied, and it also made his mind clear up from exhaustion.


    Rei, of course, knew what the sound meant, and he quickly checked his status for any improvements.

    "My HP at level 1 seemed to be 200 and my MP was supposed to be 100. But now it increased when I leveled up..." Rei had pondered for a moment before he realized the benefits when leveling up!


    "Ah, so it''s 50HP per level and 25MP, that means at level 5 I can at least use ''Intimidating Aura'' 20 times!"


    Rei was ecstatic at this kind of benefit. Although Rei knew that this sort of thing would happen, but after seeing it in front of his eyes that he could get stronger just by killing a measly zombie made his heart flutter excitedly.

    But Rei did not make his head go big as he remembered what happened to those arrogant characters in the novels. "Ah, I must not get overly excited about these things, in the future, I should control myself a bit more." Is what he thought after he remembered those characters, but  he quickly added and giggled, "I should do that in the future, not now."


    His whole body was shaking as if he was using Ecstasy. He imagined what would happen in the future with his awesome skills and he imagined a lot of things; it even made him laugh in delight! After being in that state for a few minutes, Rei finally regained his sanity.


    Rei held his aching stomach that was caused by his laughter as he remembered the rewards that he got for killing the zombie.


    "One is the level up, and the other is in the inventory!"


    He excitedly activated the blue box trying to find the inventory option, but he found none. It made his face frown for a second before an amused expression appeared on his face. "You can''t trick me anymore!


    "Open Inventory!"


    Rei shouted, and like what he expected; a ten by ten grid appeared in front of him. Although there were no items, he was still excited and looked at the bottom right corner of his inventory. What he saw there was a symbol of G, S, and C. He quickly guessed that they were initials for Gold, Silver, and Copper.


    "I have 90 coppers from killing a zombie, is that good?"


    Rei question to no one, but after thinking about it for a moment, he laughed greedily. "That zombie is so fragile, If I smash a hundred more then it''s like earning money for free!" Rei laughed again but this time, if someone heard it, then they would have trouble sleeping at night.


    Seeing the Copper coins made Rei ponder again if he could take it out from his inventory. He, of course, did not touch it but instead he said, "Withdraw 1 Copper!" A copper coin appeared in his hands; it has many engravings on it, and the coin had a weird symbol on the back of it. Rei nodded as if he was satisfied and quickly put it back to his inventory.


    After checking that he did not miss anything, Rei went back to his table and opened his bag for water. There, he took a bottle of water and briskly drank it. He put the bag on his inventory and immediately walked to the door.


    "I need to look for a town, and hope that the people here would speak the same language as I do." This was Rei''s first plan, after finding out a civilization he would then find a library and learn something about this world. Rei firmly believed in the saying ''Knowledge is Power.''


    Rei also thought of the Copper coins and his inventory and imagined how easy stealing and gaining money would be. "It would be wonderful if the system and this world use the same coins." Just as he said that, his body froze like he was struck by lightning.


    "Ah, I should really upgrade my intelligence, why do I always forget such important stuff." Rei had the urge to bang his head on the wall for forgetting such an important thing. He immediately aborted his decision to get out of the room, and instead he took a chair that was not broken and sat on it. He activated the box and chose the ''Shop'' option.


    Rei, who was sitting on the chair, had a shocked expression as he saw the items in the shop.


    "This... this..."

 Chapter 4: If its accepted, then Im rich

    When Rei looked at the items in the shop, it made his heart skip a beat.


    "This... this..."


    Rei was astonished when he saw the items in the shop. He expected that it would give him a list of weapons and armors or maybe yet skill books. But what he saw, was something he did not expect even if his grandmother jumped in an airplane and survived.


    He stared at the screen for a while before he woke up from his troubled state. Rei opened and closed the shop again to see if it''s real, but after doing it three times, he confirmed that it was real.


    Seeing this, Rei pondered thoughtfully; he weighed the advantages and the disadvantages that the shop had brought. Within minutes of thinking, Rei just shook his head and laughed.


    "It is still too early to know if things like these are dangerous. If they are not, then I would surely live in a pleasant life." Rei said in a hopeful voice. He quickly got up and finalized everything that he needs outside.


    He arrived in front of the door and meticulously stared at it. With a deep breath, he opened the door carefully and slowly as if caressing a baby. In the year 2130, almost all walls and doors in classrooms have a sound insulator on the outside and in the inside. It was made so the school can avoid disturbing any guests or the students from visiting or studying. That''s why Rei was so nonchalant when laughing and cursing as he knew that he would not be heard outside of the room.


    As Rei opened the door, he cautiously glanced left and right to see any zombies. Rei expected that there were dozens of zombie walking around since the building is a big one, but when he only saw four zombies walking on the walkway, he sighed in relief.


    He eyed them carefully, looking for weaknesses that would help him beat them up to pieces. He looked for missing arms or legs and after looking for a while, Rei discovered a strange matter. All of the zombies that he saw in the walkway had no arms, and it made Rei suspicious on why would a zombie have no arms.


    Rei also noticed the levels that hung above their heads. He was surprised to see them first, but as he remembered those similar functions in the novel he once read, he just accepted them as a normal thing. Rei pondered on why he didn''t see this before when the zombie came in the room, but it didn''t take long before he just shrugged his shoulders and started to think of a plan.


    His first plan was the same as the one that he used before; he would charge them with a metal table and squash them to death. However, the walkway was broad and not narrow, making it impossible to flatten them at the same time. However, what Rei was afraid the most is that these zombies were different from the one that entered the room, it made his knees tremble imagining on what would happen if the attack failed.


    Panic filled his head as he thought about the disaster that might occur. But he quickly cleared his mind to regain his clarity and thought about his situation carefully.


    "The zombie that entered the room must not be that different to the ones outside since they walk so slow, and had no arms."

    "The question is why would that zombie enter the room?"


    Just as Rei finished his question, he heard a groaning sound beside him, and it made his hair stand up! He glanced the direction of the sound and saw the three zombies were coming towards him. His knees shivered unconsciously upon seeing the zombies walking towards him, he quickly moved back and closed the door.


    His chest heaved up and down as if he just participated a great race. Beads of sweat came down from his forehead as he imagined what would happen if he did not hear the sound. Rei didn''t know if he suddenly developed Schizophrenia but he was bloody sure that he heard the groans of the zombies outside of the door!


    The panicked Rei thought of just hiding here until they disappear when a sudden inspiration ticked in his mind. His confidence slightly rose as he quickly opened the door and took a table. He equipped the table like a shield, and when the four zombies came, he tensed his body. His posture was low, and his knees were slightly bent and the moment he saw his enemies enter he valiantly stormed in!


    Rei charged off like a rocket; he achieved an unbelievable speed, is what he imagined when he rushed off. But, of course, reality was cruel and in the middle of his charge he stumbled miserably. His knees were bruised, and his face naturally landed on the floor.


    Rei groaned in pain as he quickly stood up in agony. Although his senses were flooded by the searing pain in his knees, he did not tarry any longer as he was afraid of the approaching zombies.


    He quickly took another table and charged at the zombies. Luckily, Rei succeeded and turned them into a paste. When he saw that it worked, he lied down on the floor as he released a sigh of relief. "I really need to exercise," Rei muttered firmly.


    It did not take long before Rei recovered his wits and energy. The battle before burned out most of his courage when facing zombies. Although they were weak and slow, once you see them in front of your face, you really would have trouble keeping your courage up. "I should have watched more horror movies," said Rei in regret.


    Rei stood up and decided to use the table as his main weapon since he noticed on how effective it is on the zombies.  He also checked his status if there were something new, but aside from a skill ''Charge'' that he gained from his previous actions, nothing changed. He prepared himself again for the upcoming battles as he walked in front of the door.


    But before he stepped out out of the room, he took a quick glance behind him and muttered, "This will be the last time, I''m coming here." His voice contained a tinge of melancholy and sadness as if there was something lost in his heart. If someone were to see this situation from the very start, they would undoubtedly ask Rei on why he gave up treatment.


    With a bag on his back and a table in his hands, Rei bravely stepped out of the room.

 Chapter 5: Eerily Creepy

    Rei stepped outside of the room and glanced left to right to find any zombies left. After checking that there are none, he carefully walked outside as he held the table in his hands. Rei didn''t notice this first when he glanced outside, but now that he had leisure, he had finally noticed that there''s something different outside the windows.


    In the year 2130, artificial trees were spread around the world, but not one came close to the texture and smell of a natural tree. That''s why when Rei saw the broken window on the wall, he couldn''t help but gasp in surprise at the trees that surrounded the building.


    He heard the groans of the trees and the rustling of the leaves; he felt the rhythm of the forest. An indescribable feeling surged up in his heart as he felt his tense body relax in comfort.


    Rei had the urge to jump and hug one of the trees, but when he noticed that he''s on the second floor, his face paled, and he finally woke up from his stupor. He took a deep breath and inhaled the fresh air that was released by the trees. Rei noticed that this air here in this world was entirely different than of his former world.


    Rei did not know what was different, but he was aware that the air here is much better. After savoring the fresh air outside, Rei continued to proceed downstairs. His footsteps were silent, his breath was steady, and his mind was alert. There was not a single thing that could pass through Rei''s gaze. There were no zombies on the stairs, but when he reached the first floor, he got the feeling that fighting was inevitable.


    When Rei arrived on the first floor, he saw dozens of zombies walking around. But, Rei did not feel any pressure as he saw that there were all level one. Rei located the nearest zombie to him and decided that it would be his first target.


    Rei gritted his teeth, and he steeled his heart, after seconds of preparations he quickly charged. It did not take six seconds before the zombie turned into a bloody paste. Rei then quickly moved back and hid behind his table to look for another zombie. After seconds of preparation, he charged off again.


    In a matter of minutes, Rei wiped out the zombie horde, and although he eliminated the zombie horde, there was not a single smile on Rei''s face. Every time he saw the results of his work, it would slightly make his stomach churn in disgust.


    Rei sat down on the stairs, which was clean of blood and gore. He then drank what''s left in his water bottle to invigorate his body. As Rei drank the water, a perplexed expression appeared on his face as he pondered about the previous battles.


    "Am I strong, or the enemies are just weak?"


    Rei started to ponder on this question since he first defeated the zombie that he encountered in the room. Rei wanted to fight someone stronger than him to test his combat prowess, but at the same time, he was afraid of fighting someone stronger than him.


    "Ah, should I try punching the zombies?" An idea popped up in his head as he was just about to stand up. Rei''s first plan was to find a civilization but knowing that he was in a middle of an unknown forest, it made Rei uncomfortable traveling the vast forest while being weak.


    After moments of hesitation, Rei decided to use his body to eliminate the remaining zombies he could find. He looked at the hall of the first floor, which he fought the zombie horde, seeing that there was none left, he proceeded to the classrooms on the first floor.

    It did not take long before Rei arrived in front of the room. Rei relaxed his body and took a deep breath; he opened the door slowly, and he immediately went inside. But what he saw inside made his solemn expression turn into a shocked one.


    There were no zombies inside the room, nor any indiscernible meat that he found in his classroom but, what''s strange here is that the room is squeaky clean! The tables are perfectly aligned, the chairs are not broken, and there were even some writings on the board.


    Rei immediately rushed outside, and he headed straight for the other room, but it was the same as the previous one! He went to all the rooms on the first floor, and he found out that everything was perfectly normal.


    He had a confused expression on his face as countless questions passed through his mind. But he did not pay them any heed, as he quickly went to the second floor and investigated the other rooms. He entered one room after another, and just as he expected, it was devoid of any destruction.


    "This is eerily creepy," is what Rei thought after discovering that there were no mess on the other rooms. He tried to think of the reason on why his room would be the only one that was littered with meat and had broken furniture.


    Rei also explored the third floor, and he found out that there was nothing there. Suspicions hung above his head as he tried to think of the reason on why there was no zombies or mess on the other floors. But, no matter how he thought about it, there was not a single thing in his mind that could justify the situation.


    After two hours of searching any zombies, Rei discovered two anomalies. One is that there were no mess or signs of battle zombies on the other floors and rooms. Two is that almost all of the things except for the chairs and table are gone! The utensils are gone, even the refrigerator in the cooking room is gone!


    "Dammit, hours of work and I found nothing!"


    Rei cursed lightly as he sat on the chair on the third floor. His back was drenched with sweat, and large beads of it came down from his head. Anyone who saw him would think that he just took a bath! But, of course, anyone who would see him can also notice his bad mood and dark expression.


    Rei carefully thought about his next actions after seeing that there were no zombies on the third floor and on the second floor


    "Should I also check the rooftop?" Rei thought about this for a moment and decided to visit the rooftop.

    With a tired face and ragged body, Rei finally arrived at the door leading to the rooftop, and without a moment''s hesitation, he firmly grasped the doorknob and pushed the door outside.


    Rei expected some zombies or at least the usual view of the rooftop that he always saw when he used to eat here. But the scene that he saw made his legs turn to jelly.

 Chapter 6: I Now Understand Old Men

    He kneeled unconsciously at the terrific scene in front of him. His heart was beating furiously, and his eyes were bloodshot from his tears. His body shook as if he had seen a terrifying monster.


    However, what he felt inside was not fear but instead great joy and satisfaction.


    "Ah, the sunset is really stunning. Now I know why old men long for such a beautiful thing."


    Rei finally woke up from his dazed thoughts after several minutes of appreciating the beauty of nature. He quickly noticed his snot and tears, so he expertly flourished a handkerchief from his pocket, and elegantly wiped his face clean.


    It did not take five seconds before Rei finished cleaning up his face, and with a flick of his wrist, his handkerchief was magically folded. He put his folded handkerchief in his bag as he slowly walked on the edge of the rooftop.


    With a deep breath, Rei inhaled the fresh air that surrounded the vicinity. A satisfied smile quickly rose up on his face as he savored the smell of the air. He continued doing this for a minute before he finally stopped and walked towards a wooden chair.


    Rei gently unbuttoned his shirt as he stared at the bespeckled sky above. Although some clouds were covering the majestic view, he paid it no mind as he absentmindedly stared at it.


    The birds flew happily in the air as they chirped melodically together with their fellow kin. The branches swayed and it was accompanied by the rustling of the leaves. The enormous trees who reeked of ancientness also creaked with dullness.

    He saw stars of glinting silver and orange clouds on the horizon. Everything seemed so perfect; everything appeared to be peaceful. All of this were heard and seen by Rei, but like a monk who was in deep thought contemplating whether Buddha exists or not, he paid it no mind


    Suddenly, a frigid breeze went past, and it made his body shiver in contact. Complex expressions appeared on his previously dull face. Tears came down from his eyes, and his body trembled with trepidation. Cold sweat drenched his back, and his teeth were clacking in anguish.


    The sky suddenly turned to tar-black as large gray clouds hovered above the building. Flashes of lightning struck the surrounding trees as the loud roar of thunder echoed in the ears of beasts. The heavens wept, and large beads of rainwater came down from the sky.


    The earth rumbled, and it was split apart. A bellowing roar echoed throughout the vast land, and it made the strongest beast cower in fear. A fissure appeared out of nowhere, and it annihilated the surrounding mountains and ancient trees


    Steam rose up from the bottomless crack as creatures of unknown ascended and a silhouette of a person, rising from the fissure could be seen. Its gaze was cold, and it was emitting a savage aura. In his right hand was a sword and on the left was a piece of white cloth.

 Chapter 7: I Fucked Up

    The King of Alvaria trembled as he read the sloppily written text from the parchment that he got from his servant. His brows were furrowed, and his hands were shaking slightly. He took off his glasses and put the parchment back on his table. The king took a deep breath as he digested the information from the paper.


    "What did she say after she wrote this?" The king asked the young girl who was in maid clothes that were in front of him.


    The girl slightly panicked, but she tightly held the hem of her clothes and answered anxiously. "Your Majesty, she said something about demons, but before she could finish, she died."


    The king who was lost in thought nodded absently as he grabbed a small purse underneath his black robe. He opened it and hesitantly grabbed a token which has various carvings on it. The King stared at it for a while before he finally gave it to the maid.


    "Take this and let every Elder know about the situation, if anyone blocks your way, show them this token."


    With a simple "yes" and bow, the maid quickly went outside and closed the door with her trembling hands.


    The king noticed the maid''s strange behavior but paid it no heed as he thought of the things that he should do with the Foreseer''s vision.


    The maid''s chest heaved up and down as she glanced at the token on her hands. She remembered that when she was a child, her mother had always told her about a token in the Royal Family. Her mother had said that a King would only use the token when a perilous situation is about to come.


    A troubled expression crept up to her face as the confusion on her mind grew bigger on why her mother knew such a thing that only the king knows. She previously did not believe in her mother''s words, but seeing the token in front of her eyes now made her accept the fact that her mother was speaking the truth.


    The maid continued to walk down on the hall as countless thoughts pass through her head. Her beating heart slightly calmed down, but it was not enough to cover her anxious face.


    The onlookers did not know why a maid of the king had such a troubled expression. Although there were maids, their lives were a lot better than those nobles since they were serving the King.


    From young they were trained to be knights and to use various weapons. They were trained how to cook and to weave, and every possible skill that would be needed by the King were taught to them.     Thus, the maids of the King are highly viewed. They are respected by the mass, and they are always praised for their highly proficient skills and for their loyalty to the king.

    "If it''s the king would ask me to wash his body then I would! But you? A filthy dog like you wants me to wash your body?" With a flick of his hand, the plate landed on the dusty table as she furiously left the chamber.


    Seeing this kind of situation, the old woman sighed.


    "It has gotten worse since the fall of the previous King."


    "Oh, Milord, if you were in this situation what would you do...?"


    After that situation had happened, the maid started to ridicule the old woman, she would even put some powder in her food that would make her body weaken. She would often admire her abilities for predicting the future sarcastically. Sometimes, she would even tell the old woman that she would be useful if she stopped eating and would give the food to the children instead of wasting it on her.


    The old woman was ridiculed day and night by the maid. Although she endured it quite a few times, she would always throw a protest to the bad mouthed girl. A month has passed, and the treatment of the maid continued to stay the same in fact, it was getting worse and worse.


    The old woman grew tired and weary by the abuse of the maid. She once tried to visit the king to get the girl changed, but she did not expect that the maid would be that audacious to stop her from getting out from her chamber. She tried to get out, but the maid always stopped her and used a sound deflecting spell to make her screams for help useless.


    The Foreseer was once a maid for the previous king. Thus, she was trained in combat. But now that she was old, she could not help but feel listless at the young woman in front of her. ''If it was 20 years before I could kick your ass you stupid bitch.'' In the end, the Foreseer stopped trying and just concentrated on the glossy transparent ball in her hands.


    Suddenly, the once transparent ball turned dark, and a malevolent aura spread around on her chamber. Thousands of visions entered in her mind as her body shook in fright. She quickly grabbed the paper on her right side and began to transcribe what she saw in the vision.


    But things did not go smoothly for her, as her hands were still trembling from the extensive information that entered her head. She could at least write a few paragraphs from her current predicament but what came next was something she didn''t expect.

 Chapter 8: I Trained Them So Well...

    Although she was old and had less power than before, it was not up to the extent that she could not resist the power of a vision. A realization popped off in her head as she gazed at the plate on the table beside her. Her eyes widened in shock as she remembered the stupid maid that gave her food.


    But suddenly, the dark ball vibrated, and she quickly refocused his attention on writing what happened. However, reality was cruel,  the effects of the food made her trembling hands feel listless and sluggish. Her once pink face turned pale as countless of sweat came down from his forehead.


    She lightly cursed under her breath seeing that only a few words were written in the course of thirty seconds. In that course of thirty seconds, she felt that the visions from the ball continued to fade away like snow melting in summer. If she could not transcribe what''s left in the vision, then it would be entirely forgotten, and she could not recover it again.


    But she, who was once a highly positioned Foreseer, did not give up and instead she steeled her heart and bit her tongue. With a shout that could chop irons and sever nails, she converted what''s left of her little life to power so that she could write the remaining visions in her memories.


    Five minutes have passed since she converted her life, the parchment has drips of blood on it and sloppily written characters. However, a wide smile spread on her face once she read the words that she had written. Tears came down from her eyes, and her body shook from tiredness.


    Her body fell down with a loud ''thump,'' and so did her heartbeat ''I have fulfilled my promise, I''m coming up my beloved...''


    "Dammit, who would have thought that she would die because of a sleeping powder."


    The maid continued to frown as she made her way to one of the Elder''s chamber. Two guards were guarding the First Elder''s door, and when they saw one of the favorite maids of the king coming towards them, the two guards quickly gave a salute - which was a bow and a fist on their chest.


    Seeing the two guards in front of her, her previous frowning expression immediately disappeared, and it was replaced by a bright smile. She approached the two guards and bowed slightly.


    "I have an order from the Majesty to meet the First Elder," the maid asked softly


    The two guards perked their ears when the person in front of them started speaking. With a voice, that seemed to be coated with honey, they felt their legs tremble just by listening to how sweet it is. If any other men will hear this, they would likely feel their third leg stand up with no hesitation.

    But these two guards are quite different and was trained by the First Elder. They only smiled and knocked the door to alert their Master.


    "Master, Young Lady Amelia was ordered by the Majesty to see you."


    There was no response in the first three seconds but on the fourth one, a lively voice could be heard from the inside. "Let her in."


    The two guards quickly pulled the handleset as they heard the voice inside the room. Amelia quickly strode off with confidence that she did not previously have when she talked to the king.


    The guards closed the door and looked at each other. A broad perverted smile could be seen on their faces as a large bulge between their legs suddenly appeared. The guard on the left raised his right arm and made a grasping motion that he moved towards his own butt.


    As soon as he saw that, a smirk appeared on the face of the guard standing on the right. He whistled softly as he gave his companion a thumbs up. After that, he closed his hands into a fist and formed a circle on the left. While on the right hand he closed his hands except for his middle finger and he quickly stabbed through the circle repeatedly.


    His companion was quite confused at first, but seeing the repeated actions of his friend he slowly came to an understanding. Like a monk who was in enlightenment, his perverted smile became wider. If one saw this scene, they would not believe how depraved these holy knights are.


    They continued doing funny actions, but when they heard a person going outside from the door, their slouched backs immediately straightened up and their perverted smiles quickly vanished. It could be said that this kind of acting would make any actors back on Earth look like a joke.


    The closed door slowly opened as a lithe figure appeared. She gave a slight bow to the First Elder and got out of the chamber. After giving the information to the First Elder, she immediately went out to the other elders.


    When the maid disappeared from their view, the two guards quickly looked back at the room and saw their Master was smiling broadly. They gave their Master a quick thumbs up as they closed the door. The First Elder frowned seeing this, but when the door closed, he immediately chuckled with a delight expression on his face. "Ah, this Senior trained them so well."

 Chapter 9: Who Wants to be Bald?!

    Sunlight glazed over the building where a man is sitting on a chair. His back was straight, eyes closed, and hands on his side. If a person afar would see this man, they would assume that the man was in deep meditation. However, if one looked closely, they would see that the man is actually drooling!


    A slight breeze went past through his body, and it made the sleeping Rei wake up. He directly stood up with his eyes wide wondering on what happened and why he was here. It took him a fully five seconds to remember all of the things that happened yesterday and it caused him to heave a heavy sigh.


    "What a weird dream. I don''t remember watching anything like that back on Earth..." Rei mused as he instinctively stretched his arms upwards and tried to stand up but he was greeted by his aching back. He grunted in pain as he hunched his back to lessen the pain that he felt. After enduring the throbbing pain, Rei slowly made his back straight as countless ''ka ka'' sound could be heard. He released a satisfied sigh as he felt the pain fading away.


    He also stretched his arms and legs as if he had done this countless of times before. After weird postures and groans, he finally made a satisfied smile and sat back on the chair. He took a deep breath and stabilized his breathing.


    "What should I do now..."


    Questions filled his head as he stared at the morning sky. His first plan was to improve his punching skill first by defeating the zombies but after scouring every floor and finding none, he quickly gave up on his first plan. As he was thinking of other ways to raising the level of his punching skill, a lightbulb suddenly exploded in his head.


    His eyes shone brightly at the new idea that came to his mind, and he couldn''t help but smile broadly. Rei immediately stood up and did a fighting posture that he saw in the commercials.


    Left foot on the back of his right foot and knees slightly bent. Hands in front of his face, he tensed his whole body as he punched the air in front of him. He repeatedly continued to do this until he finally got out of breath.


    "Did it work?" The gasping Rei asked to no one.


    As soon as he said the question, he immediately wanted to punch himself for being stupid. He laughed bitterly at how overly excited he can get. ''I should have checked my status first...''


    With a bitter smile, Rei quickly activated the box and chose the status option to see if this kind of practice would increase the skill''s proficiency.


    But before he could check the skills, he was greeted by two blue screens.

    A question mark hung over his head as he read the two blue screens that popped up when he checked his status. But it did not take long before he found out the reason on why he would gain the stats. His bitter smile turned into a wide smile as he thought about the possibilities of raising his stats.


    But he quickly shook his head and focused his attention on the skill.

    Amelia continued to walk to the chamber of the second Elder. Many onlookers were stunned seeing the beautiful maid coming to see the second Elder, but Amelia paid them no heed as countless thoughts and situations appeared in her head.


    One situation is where the King found out that she was the one who caused the accidental death of the Foreseer, and he punished her by banishing her from the kingdom.

    The two guards immediately opened the door as Amelia strode off with confidence. The chamber of the second Elder was quite spacious and has a lot of decorations. Countless legends spread around about this mysterious Elder, who was always absent in public parties and events. Only the king and close confidantes of his know his true appearance.


    Even for Amelia, it was his first time entering the mysterious chamber of the Second Elder. She had heard legends about the Second Elder, but like what she did to her mother, she paid it no mind as she did not believe the words of the people if she did not witness it for herself.


    But seeing the decorations and countless treasures just laying on the floor it made her confirm that one of the legends is indeed true. That the Second Elder possessed countless treasures that would match the King''s treasury.


    She elegantly walked the red carpet that was filled with various designs and drawings. Seeing the red carpet made her curiosity piqued up about the meaning of the pictures.


    There were also various vases and tables that have weird carvings and what made her most surprised is that they were all dusty! ''Do the Second Elder not care about his treasures?'' She pondered about this question, but before she could delve deeper into it, she arrived at another door.

 Chapter 10: Weird Grasses

    The door has golden engravings and various ancient symbols that she did not seem to recognize. It made her confidence drop since she was proud of her academic studies about ancient history yet she did not know a single symbol on the door.


    Nevertheless, she quickly regained her confidence as a maid of the king and refocused her attention on the current situation. She pushed the door forward and looked curiously in the room. There were no windows inside nor any other thing besides a table and a chair. No dust or dirt could be found in the room, and it made her slightly surprised.


    She quickly walked in and closed the door behind. Her gaze lingered on the clean surroundings but when a cough arrived in her ears, she quickly looked in front of her.


    The person in front of her made her jaw drop a bit as she did not expect the Second Elder would look like this. Not only the man in front of her looked like he was in twenties, he even have white hair!


    The person sitting on the chair lightly chuckled upon seeing the shocked expression on the girl''s face. With a wave of his hand, a chair appeared in front of her, and he motioned her to sit on it.


    Upon seeing the chair, Amelia woke up in her shocked state as she lightly coughed in embarrassment. The second Elder only smiled and waited for her to sit on the chair.


    Amelia quickly sat on the chair and lightly bowed. The Elder nodded and said.


    "What brings you here, child?" His voice was hoarse akin to an old man, but upon seeing the face of the Elder, Amelia was sure that he was a man in his twenties.


    Hearing what the Elder said made her slightly uncomfortable but nonetheless, she did not dally any longer as she said in a respectful voice.


    "Milord, Your Majesty told me to relay this information to all of the Elders; however, it must be kept secret to any outsiders until further orders."


    With a voice that was sweet as honey, Amelia told the second Elder all the information that the parchment contained. Hearing what the girl said, it made the Elder frown in puzzlement. "is this confirmed?"


    Amelia did not say anything but instead, she took a token from her clothes and presented it to the Elder.


    "This..."


    A shocked expression appeared on the Second Elder''s face once he saw the token in her hand. With a quick incantation, he made the token fly towards him and with a quick swipe of his hand he imbued it with his mana.


    His body shook uncontrollably as his aura exploded from his body. Countless tiles flew off the ground, and cracks appeared on the wall, the near Amelia almost lost her consciousness once she felt the terrifying aura of the second Elder.


    With a deep breath, the frowning Elder immediately retracted his aura and threw the token back to Amelia. She quickly grabbed it and with a slight bow, she got out of the room.

    She heaved a sigh of relief as she got out of that hell room. Her body was drenched with sweat, and her legs were shaking from fear. It made her spine shiver uncontrollably as she remembered the aura of the second Elder that could squash her with a single thought.


    Meanwhile in a middle of the forest. A young boy around the age of eighteen is walking on an old pathway.


    It has been thirty minutes since Rei decided to travel outside of the building. After raising his ''punch'' skill to level three, he quickly bought raw ingredients and water from the shop and went down to the first floor. He sighed in grief as he finally went out of the building. His gaze lingered at the building for a moment before deciding to leave and find a civilization. But before Rei could make ten steps outside of the building, he noticed something about the grasses so he quickly went back inside and did something.


    After five minutes of doing something inside the building, he once again got out but this time, his face was filled with happiness and content. He circled the building trying to find any road that he could tread on but after spending ten minutes of careful observation, he gave up. He could only curse his bad luck and finally chose a random direction in the forest. Rei was slightly nervous when he stepped out of the building since he feared that he might encounter some anomaly that he had no knowledge of.


    But after traveling for thirty minutes, Rei finally regained his confidence as he saw that there were no abnormalities in the forest. Rei could only hear the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the leaves which was pleasing to the ears. However, the grasses in the forest are high as his knees, and it was slightly damp making it uncomfortable to walk on. This was a problem that Rei faced when he just got out of the building, so he opened his inventory and took out a broken chair''s leg.


    After walking for thirty minutes, he noticed on how effective a walking stick is in a middle of a forest. If he did not have it, he would have likely stumbled on a root or a rock in the first five minutes that he traveled.


    Rei hummed a song that was from his former world as he continued to stroll and waved his walking stick in front of him. Although Rei looked calm and relaxed, if an experienced person saw him, they would notice that he was alert and is always cautious of the surroundings.


    As Rei was just about to finish the song, his eyes suddenly narrowed as he noticed a weird spot of grasses not far away from him. He hesitated for a second before finally decided to come close to the place where there are some weird-looking grasses.


    What he saw there made his heart beat happily.

 Chapter 11: Are the Stars the same?

    It took him a second to notice what''s weird about the grasses and when he did, his heart shook in excitement. "The grasses here are much shorter than the ones I''ve encountered before, could it be that this is a road before?"


    Without a moment''s hesitation, he quickly decided to traverse on this old walkway and hoped that this would lead him to a town. Four hours and thirty minutes later, Rei was sitting under the shade of the tree grasping for breath.


    "Dammit, I''ve walked like forever and still found nothing..."


    Rei sighed as he took a bottle of water from his bag. He praised the shop repeatedly as he drank the water without a care.


    "A bottle of water only costs one copper..."


    "If I have this kind of power back in my old world I could be rich!"


    A satisfied smile could be seen on Rei''s face as he drank the bottle of water. With a loud ''burp'' Rei quickly covered his mouth in embarrassment. However, amazement appeared on his face as he realized that he had burped again from drinking a 500ml water bottle.


    "I burped again?" Rei asked to no one.


    When Rei got tired from walking, he would always sit somewhere and drink some water. The first time that he drank the water he noticed that it was slightly sweet, and he immediately belched. It also made his body refreshed as if he had just woken up. But he dismissed the thought that the water from the shop could rejuvenate his entire body instantly since it was too OP.


    But when he rested for the second time and the third time, he couldn''t  dismiss the thought of having an OP water.


    "I also did not eat food since yesterday night, but I don''t feel hungry..."


    "Could it be...? There is only one way to try..."


    Rei quickly stood up and resumed to walk. Ten minutes passed by and the excitement in his heart continued to grow bigger. Wondrous thoughts filled his head as he wondered about the possibilities that this kind of water could bring. Before Rei knew it, he started to run.


    His chest heaved up and down as he used the tree beside him to support his body. Dirt covered his feet, and beads of sweat came down from his forehead. Although he was on the verge of collapsing, there was a bright smile on his face. He quickly bought another water bottle from the shop and opened it quickly. He chugged the water down and waited for the miracle to happen.


    A ''burp'' and a shout echoed throughout the forest as Rei confirmed that the water indeed recovers his body from fatigue. A plan quickly formed in his head as he quickly stood up from excitement.


    "I can gain stats by exercising... If I combine it with the water, then I would not need to rest in order to gain more stats!"


    Excitement flowed through his veins and without a second thought, he started running again. He ran ceaselessly without thought for almost two-thirds of an hour! Although Rei stumbled a few times because of the roots of the trees or small rocks, he paid it no mind as his head was busy imagining on how OP he would get.

    Finally, like a car which ran out of gas, Rei stopped running. Sweat drenched his clothes, and if one didn''t look closely, you would assume that he just ran out of the bathroom. Although he was dead tired and smelly from the running, he still managed to buy a bottle of water and drank it.


    After sipping the last drop of water from the bottle, he excitedly activated the box and opened his status. But like a scientist who had failed his experiment, Rei felt that he was doused in cold water as he saw that his status did not increase. He closed the blue screen and his eyes and assumed that it was just his imagination.


    But when he opened it again, reality struck him, and he had to accept that his ''plan'' of his did not work. Rei had the urge to yell out his frustration, but he managed to hold it in after looking the place he''s in now. He sighed in grief as he looked at his status again, although he felt miserable it was not up to the point of depression as he knew that it would be too good if it really worked.


    With a tired smile, Rei continued to follow down the old walkway. This time, however, he did not run but instead just walked leisurely. With a deep breath, Rei observed the surroundings, and he felt that his heart was at ease. With every scenery that he walked to and every animal that he had seen, he realized on why some people back on Earth would pay a lot of money just to visit a man-made forest.


    He always laughed at them for being stupid since they could just see them on the internet. But, after feeling the fresh air of the forest and seeing how beautiful nature could be, he changed his mind. Although he had not turned into a nature lover, he still appreciated the beauty of nature that he did not experience before he had come into this world.


    Rei continued to walk leisurely and sometimes drank a little bit of water whenever he gets tired. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes to hours; the morning sun passed away as the big bright moon came up.


    Rei did not continue to walk in the night but instead, he sat down under the shade of a large tree as he ate raw broccoli that he bought from the shop.


    As he ate the fresh broccoli in his hands, Rei stared at the sky. Seeing the glinting stars in the sky made his mind feel refreshed. He had previously pondered if the stars here was the same back on Earth, but with his lack of knowledge within the field of astronomy he just shrugged his head and enjoyed the view.


    Before he knew it, Rei sank into a deep sleep while being covered by the moonlight.

 Chapter 12: Why is There a Spoon?

    The once bright moon disappeared from the sky and what replaced it was a fiery sun. Rei woke up comfortably as he instinctively stretched his hands upwards. He never thought that it was this comfortable sleeping under a tree, but when his mind cleared up and observed the surroundings before him. His mind gaped in shock.


    ''Whose room is this?!'' This was Rei''s first thought when he saw his surroundings. Trees and dirt were the things that he expected to see when he woke up, but what he saw now could only mean that someone had found him and let him sleep in bed.


    While Rei was shocked at his current situation, a young woman was watching him who looked like to be in her twenties. She chuckled in delight as she saw the boy''s face be amazed at his surroundings.


    "It''s beautiful isn''t it?" The young woman said proudly.


    Rei finally woke up from his daze when he heard the beautiful voice of a woman. He quickly looked around and saw the face of what he can call a face of a model. In fact, it was too perfect to be called the face of a model, if he were not transported into an another world then he would surely yell "plastic surgery." Rei was also sure that if she were compared to the models back on earth, then she would surely be in first place!


    Even if she''s only second, then he was still sure that no one would assume first place!


    Rei studied the woman''s face further and what he saw next made him shocked. He saw the long ears of the lady in front of him, and it made his jaw drop in amazement. "An elf?" This was Rei''s first thought when he saw the elf in front of him, but unknowingly, he said his thoughts out loud!


    As if nothing was wrong, the elf merely nodded and sweetly smiled. She gently placed a tray on the bed which had a stand and on it was a bowl of soup.


    "Eat the soup. My husband found you in the woods last night. If he didn''t let you stay in here, then you could have gotten sick, you know?" With a voice, that was sweet as an angel; the elf told Rei about what happened last night and went out to get a glass of water.


    Rei still has a shocked expression on his face as he stared at the bowl in front of him. ''This... Isn''t this kidnapping..?''  Ideas passed through his head as he wondered if the elf was telling the truth or not. But after thinking that they could just kill him when they saw him in the forest or could tie him with a rope so he can''t escape. Rei released a sigh of relief.


    ''I hope they''re good people.''


    Rei took the spoon in his hand as if it was perfectly normal but when he was about to scoop the soup using it, a shocked expression once again resurfaced on his face. He stared at the spoon as if he had seen a terrifying monster; question marks hung above his head as he thought about the possibility of another world having a spoon. ''Could there be more people transported into this world?'' This was Rei''s theory, although the chance of having an Earthling getting transported into the same world as him was mind-boggling he tried to convince himself that it happened to others too.

    He was a person who was transported from Earth into this world, who said that other people cannot be transported too? Rei could just ask the elf if she knows about the creator about the spoon... But as he delved deeper into the matter it could be said that all kinds of things might be possible since there is no way that a person like him could understand the underlying system about transporting people into another world.


    As he reached the part that there might be someone behind the scenes controlling them like a puppet, Rei quickly shook his head and sighed. ''Reading too many novels will do this to you...'' He cleared his mind about the previous matter and quickly paid it no heed as he focused on the soup in front of him. As if nothing had happened, a smile appeared on his face as he scooped a spoonful of soup and ate it.


    Various flavors popped in his mouth as his eyes lit up in appreciation. ''This soup is superb! The flavor is just right, and the meat is not overcooked, however...''Unknowingly, Rei started to criticize the food that he was eating. This was the effect of studying in a cooking school since he was a little boy.


    Rei''s father was a prodigy in cooking and owns a school. Thus, he wanted his son, Rei, to inherit the school. That''s why when Rei finished his elementary school, his father had given him a choice if he wanted to continue going to high school and college or just learn cooking from him to inherit the school.


    As a child, who doesn''t want to impress their father? Therefore, Rei followed his father''s dream and started to learn on how to cook from him. Although there were a lot of peers who sneered at his decision and ridiculed him for choosing a decision that will not make him rich. Rei paid it no mind as he studiously followed the ways of cooking from his father.


    However, unlike his father, who was a genius in cooking, Rei''s talent was somewhat average, as he could not keep up with the speed that his father was teaching him. His father noticed this too, but he was not dismayed in the slightest. He only smiled in front of Rei and said, "Talent helps people achieve their dreams, but hard work my dear child, is what make them succeed."


    With that as a catalyst, Rei did not give up. Instead, he strived harder and harder, trying to prove to his Father that he was competent enough to inherit his legacy. He even cut off his relations with other people and focused on only one thing, and that is cooking.


    His parents were quite proud seeing their child like that, but when they noticed that their child seemed too focused on cooking they reprimanded him. Rei was shocked when his Father told him to stop cooking for a while. He cried endlessly and threw a childish tantrum to his father saying that he did his best and everything he can.

 Chapter 13: Drug Addict

    A proud feeling grew in his chest as he saw his son strived harder in order not to disappoint him. But, when he noticed that his son seemed too focused that he even skipped meals and ignored his friends, he knew that something was wrong. Although he tried to tell his son that he needs to rest sometimes and relax his mind, all he got was a smile and an "I don''t want to disappoint you."


    Rei''s father felt his heart ache after hearing his son''s words. He wanted his son to inherit the legacy that was passed on by his grandparents, however, by no means, he wants his son to live miserably because of it.


    This continued for months and every time that he saw his son''s miserable face when he failed in cooking, he felt his heart was being repeatedly stabbed. He tried to endure this kind of feeling but when he saw his son cooking at midnight something inside of him snapped. He took the knife from his son and told him to sleep, Rei wanted to retort but seeing his father''s angry face he quickly acquiesced.


    He talked his wife about it, and they decided to let Rei stopped cooking for a while and let him find any other hobbies for the moment. At first, Rei protested and rebelled but seeing the stern face of his mother and father he finally gave up.


    His parents convinced him about sports and Rei tried to do it. Though after trying it out for several days, he noticed that his body was not suited for sports so, in the end, he gave up. But it wasn''t completely useless because after trying out different sports Rei started to notice the importance of having a fit and healthy body. So aside from cooking and learning a different kind of recipes, Rei began to exercise to make his body get used to it. He found some strange exercises on the internet that was quite weird. Nonetheless, he still tried it in real life.


    It was quite amusing at first seeing his body bend in different directions but after weeks of using the strange exercise it made his body more flexible and agile. Combined with the heat of the kitchen and his daily exercise, unknowingly, it made his body as flexible as an acrobat.


    Rei''s life continued like this for at least a year until he found out about novels in the local library. At first, it was just a typical day and after doing his daily routine, he wanted something new, so he tried to visit the library. There, he discovered about some novels which were quite dusty so he asked the librarian about it and he was told that not a lot of people chose to read that kind of book.


    It did not make Rei discouraged as he decided to read that novel. When he read the first part of the novel, he finds it slightly interesting. So he started to read the second part. But like a drug addict who was addicted to drugs, when he finished reading the second part he quickly read the third part of the novel!


    His eyes shone brightly as he continued to read the following parts of the novel. If it were not for the sharp alarm that resounded throughout the library, then Rei wouldn''t have noticed that it was going to close.

    A confused Rei quickly questioned the passerby on what that alarm was. "Oh, Is it your first time here? That alarm notifies everyone that the library is closing within ten minutes." Said the man in a state-of-fact tone


    There was still confusion on Rei''s face, but he nodded as if he understood the situation. ''As far as I know the library closes at six... It''s only two in the afternoon for god''s sake!''


    He quickly checked his watch and was shocked when he saw the time. "This... It''s already six?! How come I haven''t noticed?!" He shouted loudly, and he was met by the ''shush'' of the people. His head quickly lowered down in embarrassment as he quickly left the library to go back home.


    His parents were quite worried seeing that their son was not home at this late. Usually, their son would never get out of the house besides from buying ingredients and exercising, so when they noticed that it was almost night, yet their son was not home yet made it made them quite worried.


    As they were about to call the police to find their son, their doorbell rang, and they were greeted by a smiling Rei. A chill went down to their spines as they saw the unusual smile of their child. His mother quickly asked him if he was using drugs but it only made Rei smile in amusement.


    "I found something interesting in the library."


    Rei told them about what happened and how he haven''t noticed the time. His parents were amazed that a book would take his interest since the only time that he lost track of time is when he was cooking. His father quickly noted the genre of the book and ordered lots of them. Rei took notice of this and jokingly reprimanded them about saving money, but his father just shook his head laughingly and said.


    "If it''s for you then we''ll do everything!"


    Since then, there were four things that he did every day. That was, cooking, exercising, hanging out with his family, and reading novels. Although he was not as focused on cooking like before, he still improved slowly. By the time that he was sixteen, he even started to teach people on how to cook!


    Rei laughed bitterly at the memories that resurfaced in his mind when he ate the soup that was filled with various meat and vegetables. Although there were some mistakes that he could point out, he needed to consider about the food difference here in this world and on Earth. ''The food that they like here might be different than those of the food on Earth.'' This was Rei''s first thought when he started to criticize the food in front of him.


    With a loud ''gulp'' Rei finally finished the bowl of soup in front him,

 Chapter 14.1: If I cant kill, then Ill retreat!

    After Rei had eaten the soup, he waited for the elf to come back and was thinking about how to answer the questions that the elf might ask. But, after waiting for half an hour, the elf still did not return, and it made Rei worried.


    ''Did I mishear what she said?'' Rei tried to convince himself that he just misheard the words of the elf that she will just get some water and come back. But an eerie feeling surged in his heart as he continued to wait for the elf to return. Rei continued to endure the strange feeling and tried to persist his body from moving out the bed and opening the door.


    "A quick peek will not hurt, right?"


    Rei convinced himself and quickly got out of the bed. He quickly saw his slippers beside the bed, and his heart quickly warmed up as he saw that his slippers were all cleaned up, not a single dirt remained. Rei wore the slippers silently as his tiptoed towards the door. He was about to open the door and peek outside when he heard an unbridled laughter of a man which was then followed by a loud shout.


    "What can you do?! Sterak is not here yet; you think you can hurt me?!"


    After he had heard the man''s words, there was a loud ''bang'' and Rei heard the cries of agony. "Hahaha, you piece of shit. When your stupid husband comes home, let''s see the look on his face when he sees you dead!"


    The sound of slapping someone echoed throughout the house. Rei had the urge to step in and stab the man in the back, but he was also afraid since it was dangerous. His mind thought of plans that would save the life of the elf, but he also thought that there might be some probability that the man has some accomplices or some special abilities that he cannot fathom.

    His heart became agitated as he thought about left and right, help or run. Rei had no weapon nor a skill that he could use to kill a bad guy instantly. An idea suddenly formed in his mind as he suddenly moved his body to find any objects that would be useful in the situation outside.


    Rei opened the drawers and searched the closets, hoping that he would find something useful. But reality struck him hard as he found not a single thing that would make the outside fight stop. A sudden realization hit him as he thought about what might happen if the man tried to pillage the house after killing the elf. ''Wouldn''t the bad guy see me too?''


    Beads of cold sweat drenched his body as veins popped up in his head trying to think of a way to stop that bad guy.


    ''Think... think... think... What can I do... I can''t kill him myself... if I can''t kill him then... I''ll escape! I''ll escape, that''s it!''


    Rei gritted his teeth as he looked around trying to find any hidden compartments that may appear when a character is about to die. Aside from the window and the drawers and the closets that he had already searched, there were nothing hidden.


    ''Wait, a window?''


    An idea quickly popped up in his head as his gaze turned to the window. He quickly opened it and realized that he could just escape here and leave the elf. He looked back at the door and the window in front of him, his heart was perturbed, and his conscience was eating him.


    Rei grits his teeth and decides to escape.

 Chapter 14.2: Disappeared

    Rei stared at the window in front of him. Countless scenes passed by in his mind as he heard the screams outside of the room. Using his unsteady arms, he opened the window in one swift motion. He tried to raise his feet to cross over the window when suddenly unwanted memories resurfaced in his mind.


    Sounds of gunshot echoed in his ears as Rei suddenly woke up in a middle of the night. He rubbed his eyes and ears as if not he does not want to believe what he just heard but when he heard the sound of windows breaking he knew that something was wrong. He quickly got out of the bed and took his cell phone beside him, and with a  quick swipe of his hands, he instantly dialed 911.


    His heart was beating rapidly as he heard the sound of ringing resounding in his ears. Cold sweat drenched his back as his body was trembling feverishly. His breathing was ragged as if someone was choking his neck making it harder to breathe. His previous teary eyes lit up slightly as he heard a voice coming from the end of the phone. He quickly pleaded for help and the person on the other end quickly inquired on what happened. With labored breathing and continuous stuttering, he informed the man on what he heard inside the house.


    But before he could talk to the man further a loud ''bang'' echoed throughout the house. It was quickly followed by a cry of agony that seemed to contain both sadness and regret. His trembling body turned listless as he heard the agonizing screams that he heard outside of the room. He was sure that something happened to his parents, and he wanted to check it out. But the words of the man in the phone resounded in his head, and thus he continued to hide under his bed.

    He stayed still under the bed until he heard the sirens of ambulance and police outside of the house. When the police barged into the house, they quickly caught the perpetrators. After the police did a detailed investigation of their background and names, they quickly found out that they were the son of prominent families which has deep roots in both political and business part of the country.


    Rei''s parents were quickly brought to the hospital, but they were dead on arrival. Further investigations, let Rei knew that they suffered under several gunshots that are aimed at non-vital organs to prolong their lives. But too much time has passed, and they have lost a lot of blood resulting in blood loss.


    The press supported the Rei''s family, but they were quickly silenced by the people above by threatening their life and their family''s. A friend of his parents got a lawyer to prosecute those convicts, but the case was quickly abolished by the head jury, and the case was never heard again. The friend of his parents who tried to prosecute the convicts him vanished magically, and he was left all alone in his house.


    A loud crash immediately woke up Rei from his nightmare, as he noticed that he was still staring at the window. He quickly raised his feet and was about to climb over when he heard a shout that came from outside.

 Chapter 15: Lycan

    Sterak was one of the rare descendants of a Lycan in the continent of Grisea. Lycans are known for their ferociousness and keen senses which would aid them in battle. This two characteristic is what made them feared in the whole continent.  However, they were not perfect, and like every other being, they also have weaknesses.


    The Human Empire once summoned the Heroes to eradicate the Lycan race whom they called vile beasts, and with their godly skills and powers it was accomplished. Years passed, and most people in the continent thought that the Lycans were eradicated. However, the humans were wrong, and some Lycan that came from prominent families in the Lycan society survived.


    Sterak''s grandfathers are one of the remaining survivors in the continent and together with the remaining survivors, they secluded in the mountainous region of the continent and hid from the humans for a hundred years.


    Within this hundred years, an Enlightened Lycan suddenly rose up to prominence in the mountains and left a set of practices in his deathbed that would make their turbulent emotions be calm and still as water. It caused the once raging Lycans to calm their hearts down and think about the previous matter regarding the humans.


    There were a lot of them who hated the humans for killing their brothers and kin, however, there are also some Lycans that did not seem to care about the previous matters anymore and continued doing the set of practices left by the Enlightened Lycan.


    This included Sterak''s grandparents and parents who are living now in the Demon Empire. Ten years has passed since then and within the first year, Sterak was born.

    A busty man was smiling widely as he chopped off the deer''s head with his sword. His smile was one of satisfaction, and it would undoubtedly make any women fall for him. Unfortunately for them, though, as this busty man was married and was living his life happily with his wife in a middle of the forest.


    This man was naturally Sterak.


    Fifty years have passed since Sterak was born and yet he still looks a man in his twenties. His face looked dashing, and his red hair which is a trait from Lycans whipped around the air as he ran back home with a deer on his shoulders.


    He pondered on what kind of dish would his wife make for him and could not help but be excited about it. After traveling for more than five minutes, he reached the deepest part of the forest and saw a two-storey house.


    Without a moment''s hesitation, he quickly opened the door as if it was just a normal day for him when he saw a deranged man holding his wife on the neck.

    The deer in his shoulders quickly fell as his body was consumed by boundless rage, his body emitted a dense red aura that would make one''s hair stand on end, and his eyes oozed fury. However, there was still intelligence hidden deep inside.


    Sterak wanted to rush in and chop the man to pieces, but as he saw the dagger close to his wife''s neck, he immediately retracted his previous actions. He observed the man in front of him and found out that his body was shriveled like a corpse causing a gasp of surprise from Sterak.


    However, his face was still calm, and indifference was written on his face as he stared at the man before him.


    He quickly thought of a plan and with a grunt, Sterak immediately disappeared from his previous position and appeared 5 meters closer to the man. He released a shockwave which was aimed at the man and judging by its violent aura, it would even make a veteran soldier faint in agony, but surprisingly the man before him only smiled insanely as he thrusted the dagger to his wife''s neck.


    A surprise expression appeared on Sterak''s face, and it was quickly replaced with apprehension when he noticed that his spell had failed.


    The distance between him and the man was ten meters, and it would take him two breaths in order to reach the distance. He expected that it would slightly stun the man before him, but he did not expect that the man completely ignored it like it was nothing!


    His previous confidence of saving his wife from the man''s grasp quickly plummeted as bean-sized sweat fell down from his forehead. Sterak''s eyes shrank to the size of a needle as he urged his life to burn in order to reach his wife faster.


    But the reality is always filled with unexpected things and even though he burned some of his life force the dagger in the man''s grasp already reached the skin of his wife''s neck.


    But before the man can continue with his attack, a slight ''thump'' was heard by Sterak, and he quickly noticed that the man''s face contorted both in pain and confusion.


    This situation caused Sterak to regain his hope as he finally approached his wife and with a slash from his sword two of the man''s arm fell down.


    Sterak sighed in relief as he held his beloved in his arms. He wondered why the man suddenly stopped moving, and he quickly answered his own question when he saw the boy in front of him.
