《A Different Kind of Hero (-)》 [Prologue] A Torturous Life ----The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Chapter 1: It Just Keeps Getting Worse, Huh? Everyone simply looked towards the man dressed in white. He had a warm aura around him. Something that a mother might give off. Something - loving. Lucas only felt this way whenever Alyssa cared for him, so to have this feeling once again bless him it was remarkable. However, that moment of soothing calm was brief. "I''m sure you must all be confused, but worry not. I mean you all no harm, and even if you didn''t believe me I don''t suppose an old man such as myself could stand up to all of you by myself, haha!" (Mysterious Pope) The classmates were still confused. Some were scared, while others just had no words to say about the current situation. "Well then, please follow me and I''ll explain everything." (Mysterious Pope) Most of the guys got up and followed the pope. Some of the girls followed as well, but around half of the class stayed. The word "heroes" shook in everyone''s mind. Especially Lucas. Heroes? This could be his break. He could finally be free of being the weak runt of the litter. He could finally be respected. This of course was if this was anything like those mangas he loved to read where a ''Hero'' was summoned to defeat a demon lord. Lucas was one of the last people to start following the pope. Not because he didn''t want to, but he was just thrashed all over the place and his body was sore. Soon, all of the students including the teacher who got mixed in the situation were all following the pope. "Uhm.. Excuse me? Where exactly are we?" (Ms. Ream) Ms. Ream, the teacher, was the first to directly question the mysterious man leading them in front of the king. This was most likely because of her age difference between to students, but nevertheless suddenly teleporting must have taken its toll on her. A few seconds went by before there was a reply. The pope stopped when he was in front of the stairs of the king''s throne. Then, he pointed towards the king. "Welcome, heroes. I am sure you must all be confused, but please relax as I explain everything." (King) Everyone simply looked up at the king, still in denial of the situation but somehow calm. "The word ''heroes'' must be the most confusing, but simply put: we are in dire need of your assistance. This is the world of Arigon, and the demons have been attacking the humans since the ancient times. The Goddess of the Sun, Illia, has been trying to protect us but she can only give her blessings to the heroes that are summoned. There have been heroes in the past that have been summoned but none have been successful in completely ridding the earth of the demons. The Goddess of the moon, Monalee, who is the sister of Illia has been at war trying to destroy the humans. You were all summoned so that you could finally help raise humanity to its rightful place. Each of you will be given a tablet. These tablets will show you a status. Just so you are aware, a normal foot soldier''s stats are around the 100s range at lv50. Please take a look at your statuses and blessings. They will help you understand your strengths." (King) Once the king was finished with his speech, before any of us were able to reply were were handed what looked like a driver''s license. The only difference was that everything was blank. "Please place your right hand over the cards. It will activate and show you everything you need to know." (Pope) Josh, as the cocky bastard he is, is the first to do this. Once he does, a soft light shows and it looks almost like a 3d screen popped up. On the screen was the following: ====================== Name: Josh Level: 1 Occupation: Hero Role: Leader Blessing: ''The Rage of a God'' from Illia, the Sun Goddess Strength: 250 Speed: 160 Vitality: 210 Endurance: 240 Magic Power: 80 Stamina: 180 ====================== A cheering came from the people surrounding us. The people none of us realized were there until just now. We were too focused on the situation at hand to even think to look around. Josh showed a smirk on his face. "Level 1 with stats averaging over 200, truly magnificent! These stats are much better than our last heroes!" (King) "We truly might finally be ridden of the evil demons at this rate! Considering a normal man''s stats increase around 2 per level, you''ll probably get around 10 or more!" (Pope) Everyone was congratulating Josh like he was some sort of... oh wait.. hero. Anyway, the next person to activate the card was Susan, one of the girls who liked Josh. ====================== Name: Susan Level: 1 Occupation: Hero Role: Healer Blessing: ''Peace of Nature'' from Illia, the Sun Goddess Strength: 140 Speed: 190 Vitality: 210 Endurance: 220 A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.Magic Power: 310 Stamina: 130 ====================== The crowd once again roared. From the conversations going around, it seems like the last heroes to visit this world had stats averaging 80 at lv 1. After that, various people activated their cards. The only other one I took interest in was Alyssa''s. ====================== Name: Alyssa Level: 1 Occupation: Hero Role: Healer Blessing: ''Relentless Nurturing'' from Illia, the Sun Goddess Strength: 110 Speed: 210 Vitality: 200 Endurance: 150 Magic Power: 350 Stamina: 230 ====================== ''Of course she has something like that...'' was a thought that popped into my head. It only seemed natural that someone as forgiving and nurturing as her would have a blessing such as that. Well, I think it''s about time for me to see what I have. Everyone was done looking at their stats except for me, and for the few people that realized I was the only one left they laughed and snickered. They obviously didn''t expect much from some ''low life'' like me. This was my time to shine, and I could finally prove them all wrong. I wondered which blessing I would get. Maybe I would get stats that completely dwarfed Josh''s. That would be awesome. Let''s see what I have! ====================== Name: Lucas Level: 1 Occupation: Bystander Role: N/A Blessing: N/A Strength: 5 Speed: 10 Vitality: 40 Endurance: 170 Magic Power: 1 Stamina: 35 ====================== The entire hall went silent. *If anyone knows how to use those tables, can someone help me out with a reply? Or if there is a link to a guide? Thanks a bunch. :) Chapter 2: Utter Betrayal, But Not Like I Didnt Expect It

This was MY time! THIS WAS MY CHANCE! For everything those bastards did to me. For everything that I missed out on. How I was beaten... Everything I longed for crushed. My life a total and utter waste could have been no more... This was my redemption. And with this chance. This ONE chance that I was teleported to another world. Yes, teleported. Summoned. Transferred. To. Another. World. A world where all of the douchebags around me got literal super powers. Blessings from a God. A god of the sun, forgiveness, and life. A god that could have finally given me life after being practically dead my whole ''life''. And instead of even paying attention to me, I''m ignored. Fuck this god. If the god of life won''t look after me than who will?.... If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. "Haha.... hahahaha........ HAHAHAHAHAA" (Lucas) Everyone that was surrounding him backed off slowly. None of them were prepared for him to start manically laughing like a lunatic. They were ready to push him down more after he burst into tears. "I think he''s finally lost it..." (Jacob) [Josh''s bff] "It''s about damn time. A runt like him lasted way longer than he should have." (Josh) Lucas curls up into a ball and continues to laugh. "Just... what is going on? He wasn''t blessed by Illia? And why do you all look at him like an insect?" (Pope) There was a brief pause. Josh seemed to be in a predicament. He was caught treating Lucas like shit in front of a Pope. He''d have to come up with something to say. And what better to say to a Pope than: "This runt has resented God his whole life. He hates anyone that has to do with religion. You should probably get him out of here before he taints us all." (Josh) Josh simply replies in a serious tone, hiding a smirk. He glances down at Lucas with devilish eyes indicating his disgust. His bloodlust is centered on Lucas only, and Lucas simply looks back up at him after stopping laughing, staring at him right back. Josh quickly becomes discomforted and reverts his gaze. "NO! That''s not true! Josh has been picking on him his whole life and this is his chance to get rid of him! Don''t listen!" (Alyssa) "But why would a Hero lie?" (King) Everyone turns to the king. He had been watching the events unfold without a word up until now. "Our Hero here, Josh, was it?" (King) Josh simply nods, and the king continues... "Our Hero Josh has spoken that there is an evil here. There have been past cases of Heroes being summoned with a bad egg. This boy here could simply be that case yet again. If you are trying to defend him, than I can only assume that you are also guilty of the same sins? All of you heroes, please speak now. The majority rule will decide. Shall this boy who is suspected of being evil be cast off outside the city walls into the Dungeon of Atriarc to die, or shall he be accepted amongst you heroes?" The room went dead silent. You could clearly hear the breathing of everyone present. If you listened close enough, you could hear heartbeats. It seemed as though hours went by, and Lucas was still on the floor contemplating his situation. Hahaha.... I''m just going to be cast off. There isn''t a single soul here besides Alyssa that would stand up for me. These so-called peace keepers are just single minded imbeciles. If God won''t help me, then who will? Hehehe After a minute went by, the first to raise his hand was of course Josh. "I vote for the disregardance of Lucas. He is not welcome here." (Josh) Josh once again turned towards Lucas, averting the King''s gaze and smirking at Lucas briefly before turning to Jacob. Jacob was the next to raise his hand in support, then the rest of the class soon followed suit. Alyssa stood there with a look of complete disgust across her face. They were casting off someone they have known like they barely existed. "Then it has been settled. Guards, take this man and throw him into the Dungeon of Atriarc to die. Throw him over the bridge on the 3rd floor." (King) Alyssa stood there with a face of remorse. She was torn. The one person she considered ''right-minded'' in the world as of now is going to be killed off. She looked towards her teacher for help, but she simply shook her head no. There was nothing they could do in front of the king, and any further resistance would only get all three of them killed. Alyssa knew this all too well, but she didn''t want to accept it. The guards began dragging Lucas out of the castle. Alyssa just watched as his figure got smaller and smaller. Hehehe... Those bastards... If I get out of this somehow, I''ll make sure that every one of them dies. Even if I have to sell my soul to the devil I''ll get my revenge. These damn guards are carrying me out of the castle like a lunatic. I never should have imagined this would be taking place. I knew those guys hated me and saw me like a pile of shit on a clean floor, but to think they would go to this extent. Lucas was cuffed and thrown onto a carriage. He was then driven off to the Dungeon of Atriarc to meet his fate. Upon reaching the dungeon, he was dragged out while still cuffed. Him and the guards then proceeded to go down a few floors until like the King said, they reached the third floor. What met Lucas was a bridge made of rock. The guards forced him near the ledge, and with last words such as "One less evil" and "Good riddance" he was thrown off the edge. "HAHAHAHAAAA" (Lucas) His mind was nearly snapped at this point, but he was still able to think logically. His bloodlust was just rampant and forgiveness gone. Looks like this is it, huh? I never thought I''d die like this. Thrown off a fucking bridge in a ravine inside a dungeon in another world for being suspected of being a devil-worshipper. HAHAHA That''s just hilarious! Let''s see just how far this devil worshiping stuff will get me. If there is another world where people can be blessed by the gods, then there must be an afterlife where people can meet the gods. Let''s go, whoever this world''s death is. Bring it on. Chapter 3: Things Finally Go My Way Hmm... Where am I? Am I dead? That''s right... those bastards got me killed. But getting thrown off of that bridge and hitting the floor sure hurt like hell. The biggest question should be where exactly am I? It''s too dark to be Heaven, and I doubt this is Hell. Purgatory maybe? Possibly I was even right about the Gods visiting me. If one of them did and offered me vengeance I sure would accept. I would love to see the agony on all of their faces, hehe. How they treated me all of those years. The kicked and thrashing. Letting them watch as I rip their organs out of their cut open stomachs. Oh the agony on their faces! The horror! It would be a blast! I guess the only things in that world that could have felt what I am feeling now would be the demons. They''re probably treated like trash, just as I was. Like they are something lesser. Something insignificant. "It seems I was right about you..." (Mysterious Girl''s Voice) Oh, looks like you can hear my thoughts. No point of saying anything out loud then. If I even can. Anyway, I suppose you are a god of some sort? Maybe Illia, the of so gracious god of love worshipped by those scumbags? "No my child. I am Monalee. I suppose that those insects told you that I was an evil god? That I was in the wrong?" (Monalee) Hmm, now that I think about it I do remember hearing that pope talking about you. If Illia is the god of the sun, life, and all the ''happy'' things, then I suppose you are her polar opposite? "You would be half correct. I am the god of the moon, death, and sorrow. We do share the same ideals though, such as the preservation of the races we stand for. The humans are very egotistical and ignorant. They believe that they rule above all others. They treat all other races like they are tools." (Monalee) Then you represent the demons? They must be different than the human scumbags, right? "Very much so in fact. I represent not only the demons, but also the beast people. They are sick and tired of the human rulings. The demons have been pushed back to the desolate lands with little resources. The humans hog all of the winnings for themselves, and even have social classes. While the demons do have classes to certain standards, it is mostly power-ranking. There is little discrimination between power rankings because they have been told by me that everyone has the power they have for a reason. One may be weak but intelligent. There are a few that have both traits, but they end up lacking in something different, such as leadership. Nobody is perfect." What about the beast people? I wasn''t told about them. However, from the world that I come from and the books that include these races, they genuinely consist of people with attributes along with dogs, cats, bunnies/rabbits, and lizards. They also end up in the major slave trading industry. "Yes... unfortunately the beast people are highly valued by the humans because of their looks. The women are just sex tools while most of the men are killed off. The beast tribes live in the forests near the demons, and co-exist with them." I see... But, why may I ask. Why are you talking to me? Is it because of my interest to annihilate the humans? I am a human myself, and I''m sure that the others wouldn''t take too kindly to a human being on their side - even if I was your ''messenger''. While I don''t doubt that you can bring me back to life, I don''t have any powers. I wasn''t blessed like those others, only only had the stats from my home-world. The only out of the ordinary stat being my endurance which was caused by the constant harassment and beatings I went through each day. "Well, I have taken a liking to you. Your soul has the capacity to contain such hate after death, and your resentment towards your own race, the race that we of the demon-race hate the most, is remarkable. I purposely conflicted with Illia''s attempt to bless you, however even if she did she did not make any attempts to give you the power you were seeking for. She feared you would use it against the humans. I on the other hand am willing to give you something very special. I am willing to give you a blessing that contains a large portion of my power to make you my messenger of death. My Harbinger of Death. Your ''stats'' as you call them will only grow as you gain experience through your travels. You will also gain a special ability or weapon you will be aware of when you are put back into the human realm." (Monalee) That is more than I could have imagined. It''s as though my revenge plan is being laid out in front of me. However, won''t I still be human? "I can change that upon your ''reincarnation''. You''ll be revived to my world where you died. You will become my Harbinger and you will become a full fledged demon. However, your appearances will change. You will see once you wake up and I guarantee it will be to your liking." (Monalee) The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Hehehe... This is too good. Alright. Master. I shall see through to meet your expectations. "What a nice ring to it... ''Master''. I like it. Very well my Harbinger. upon your revival, continue downwards to the end of the dungeon. There will be a teleportation rune to escape. Fight your way out, harness your powers, and along the way you will gain new ones. Rise to the top and show the world what death truly is. Kill all those who deny me, yet save those who believe. You will be able to see their souls and see the truth of their beings. Go my Harbinger. Rise." (Master) Lucas smirked before a dark light enveloped him. He could now take revenge. He now would have the power to suppress the true evil in this world, and he was no longer a part of it. He now could be proud to be of a race. A race that wasn''t run by greed, but by unity and a common goal. He was no longer the kid that was kicked around. The weakling who was pushed and denied existence. He was finally accepted, and his master showed him kindness and understanding that none had showed before. The ability to see what truly lies within one''s soul, huh? I guess she knew I was the right one for the job. ------------------ Suddenly, there was a shock in my chest. The blackness slowly faded away like washing oil off a window. My vision came back gradually until I could see exactly where I was. I looked around and marveled at the place I was. For someone who was thrown off of a bridge I sure ended up in a better place than I thought. I was surrounded by rocks everywhere, but what made these rocks special was the white glow they had. It made them look so beautiful, and they even lit up the area so I could see. Upon closer inspection, they were even shiny. Shiny enough to be considered a mirror. I walked up to the stones after remembering that my appearance supposedly changed. I was very impressed with my appearance. I was now a little over 1.8 meters (5.10ft) in height. I used to be 1.5m so this is a large difference for me. I had a very dense muscle tone. My body was definitely made to handle agility and quick kills instead of tanking. My skin tone was a gray color. It looked just a few shades away from becoming black. On my skin were red markings. They could be said to be tattoos though, since they were symmetrical and all along my body. They stretched up my arms, on my neck, chest, legs, and my face. My face thankfully didn''t have much, but I did look handsome. Much, much better than what I used to look like. The red tattoos came up to around my cheek bones on each side before ending. The part of my body that I liked the most besides my muscles and abs were my horns. I had 5 horns that curved upward on my skull. They formed a crown and made me look like a godly being, which I guess I am. After examining myself, I realized that my clothes were pretty much gone. Most was torn due to my size increase, and all that remained was the underwear that I had. Thankfully I had the stretchy elastic kind that could increase in size, and that they were the boxer-brief versions. It kind of looked like I had bicycle shorts on so I was just glad I wasn''t naked. I doubt I''d find any corpses to rob down here. With my appearances in check, I decided to check my stats. I remembered that those douchebags'' stats were all averaged around 200 with the most being around 350 in a single stat, so I was eager to see mine. "Let''s see some improvements!" With an expecting stare I opened up the stats and my jaw dropped at what I saw next: [tr]

Chapter 4: New Skills and Progress Alyssa POV ... "Now then, with that traitor gone we shall begin your training. Pope Luther, please lead the heroes to the training ground and guide them to their proper roles." (King) "Of course, your majesty." he turns towards the group "Well then, please follow me. I will brief you all on what this entails." Everyone followed the Pope, and after a 15 minute walk of almost silence they arrived to their destination: the Training Center. "Ok then, we''re here. I''m sorry it took us so long, but we did not prepare the necessary amount of carriages. We have only gotten around 10 heroes at a time when you were summoned in the past. We did not expect almost 30 people, so putting some of you n the carriages would be unfair." (Pope) Everyone agreed to this. They would end up fighting amongst themselves if some were given special treatment. "Alright. We''ll be going in now, and I''m sure that you all are aware of your roles. The cards you were given are special. They are infused with magic from Illia herself to see into your souls and project your desires as well as the specific titles or blessings you received. Those who are Healers, please follow me as I will personally train you all. Warriors or those with the Leader/Hero roles please follow Mr. Gensung, the knight captain of the Atrion army. Mages, please follow Ms. Lacey, the commander of the top magic academy in the continent. Assassins, please follow Mr. Grenth, the head of the assassin''s guild." (Pope) Everyone splits off into their designated positions. I guess I''m following this guy... How could a Pope just leave someone to die like that? How could Lucas just be cast aside like that... I understand that everyone didn''t like him, but to just kill him off. To send him to his death! How could they?!. People are disgusting... Lucas was the only one I consider human anymore. He may not have had the best looks, but he was sweet and kind, and even though he was in a great deal of pain, hid the secret beatings he got because of me and slowly tried to avoid me and quietly let me know. He didn''t want to get me involved, and knew I would be better off without him... And now that one person who showed promise is gone, I don''t know. Alyssa had been in a deep thought for a few minutes. She walked unconsciously and just followed the group. When it came time for them to start their practice of spells she simply walked to the side. There was a bench against the wall, and she took advantage of it. After sitting down, the Pope looked towards her. Thoughts such as ''What is she doing over there?'' were clearly on his mind until he realized that she was the one who stood up for the man. His gaze became cold, as if looking towards a grave sinner. So that''s it, huh? He''s looking at me just like the others looked at Lucas. I guess I''m being criticized for trying to save him. The only decent one amongst the so called ''heroes''. But that doesn''t matter to me... I can only hope Lucas somehow makes it out. I''m sure he will, he''s dealt with much worse after all... Getting thrown off a... bridge.. should be.... nothing....... Alyssa quietly sobbed. Most of the healers were aware, since they shared one giant training room together, but everyone ignored her. Most were disgusted by how she stood up for what they considered ''a piece of trash'', but others just simply ignored her - understanding that she was a very kind and soft-hearted person. Alyssa was left alone to sob for the rest of the training session until it ended in the evening and her friend Jessica walked up to her. "Alyssa..." (Jess) "I... don''t want to hear it. You may not have raised your hand but you didn''t protect him either." (Alyssa) Shooting knives out her eyes, she glared at Jess. Jess took a step back almost unable to confront her friend, but she pushed on and said what was on her mind. "You know I couldn''t... We would just be thrown with him. With Josh having the strongest stats out of all of us, and we having average we could easily have been disposed of. You know that too. Ms. Ream knew that as well. I saw you guys make eye contact back there.." (Jess) "I just can''t believe that happened... Being summoned to another world was hard enough to take in, and now the only person I considered a human being was killed off by majority rule in front of my eyes... No.. he might still be... *hic*" (Alyssa) Tears slowly welled up in her eyes. Her face was red and swollen from all the crying, and it''s a miracle that there is even a drop of water left to cry out. "Alyss... you know very well that he i-" (Jess) "NO! I WON''T ACCEPT THAT!!!.." (Alyssa) With a sudden shout, Jess was startled. She knew that Alyssa was clearly not taking the situation well. She decided that it would be best for her to lead Alyssa to their room and let her mourn for the rest of the day and maybe tomorrow if she needs it. "Alright Alyss.. Come with me and I''ll show you where we are staying. You can lay in bed and think things through for a while. " (Jess) Alyssa didn''t respond with words. She simply took her time and slumped up. She threw a quick look at Jess, then gazed at the floor. After a minute or so of standing around, she got up completely and walked away with Jessica. ------------------------- Lucas POV This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Holy crap... Or... Unholy crap? Anyway, this is a huge surprise... My stats were leaps and bounds above the others'' and I didn''t even have to do much except die. Quite convenient if I must say. I won''t how strong I actually am when compared to other humans. I don''t suppose hitting any rocks or killing any monsters down here would help. For all I know these rocks could be as hard as diamonds or as soft as paper, and the monsters similarly could have scales. Well, it''s time to head off. Master told me to head to the bottom of this dungeon to get to some kind of teleportation rune. Too bad I don''t know what floor I''m on, or for that matter how many floors this dungeon even has. I guess I''ll find out when I travel down enough. Ah, I also don''t have a weapon.. Hmm... Oh! I remember master telling me I had some kind of weapon already. Is it near me somewhere? Lucas looks around the area, but with no success of finding anything worthwhile he gave up his search. Looks like no. Well, master wouldn''t lie to me so I must be missing something.. Maybe it''s like in the mangas? If I am able to be summoned to another world, die, then gain powers after meeting a god, then surely I must have some kind of ethereal and magical weapon. It wouldn''t hurt to try summoning it (I think). I should probably sit down and meditate or something to figure out how to summon this thing. Lucas, with a newfound determination, sits cross-legged on the floor. After concentrating for a minute or so, he starts to feel something. What is this feeling? It feels almost likely my body is filled with air, but not quite. Maybe this is what is called Magic Power? Upon further meditation, Lucas discovers that he is able to create magic. Woah, this is actually pretty cool. So, if I just concentrate on what I want to appear, it appears? Let''s try... A dart!
New Skill Learned: Dark Dart
Almost instantly a pitch black dart appears in the air, hovering above his hand. Ok, that''s cool. I get a pop up when I make something, and probably when I use it too. Kind of like a game. Good thing the window doesn''t abstract my vision. I''m sure I can throw the dark dart since I made it, but I wonder if I can propel it forward with the force. Kind of like a jehdeye from my favorite movie. Now then, let''s try it! After around a 1 second delay, the dart disappears.
Skill Used: Dart Dart
Well, it didn''t disappear but moved so fast that no human eyes would be able to keep up with it. Only Lucas was able to see it clearly, and he was astonished. He imagined it going as fast as he could make it but didn''t think that it would be almost as fast as a bullet. The dart pierces through the wall, leaving a huge crack. That.. was... awesome! Unholy crap, I''ll have to remember to hold back! Now that I generally understand how magic works, I should probably get back to trying to find that weapon of mine... An hour passed with continuous meditating until a new window appeared.
New Soul-bound Item Acquired: Scythe of Death
This looks interesting. I am basically death incarnate, so this doesn''t really surprise me, but I am really excited to finally get the weapon. I wonder why I had to meditate to get it though... Maybe to meet the requirements to handle it''s power? Let''s test it out and see.. After not even half a second of thinking, a black haze surrounded Lucas'' hand. It stretched out quickly and took the shape of a pole. Afterwards, it grew a giant blade on the end in the shape of a scythe, with two smaller blades pointing up and down on the other side of the larger one. With its sharpness, you could easily cut someone in half. A black aura clouded the area, shrouding everything in the presence of death. This scythe was a part of Lucas, and he was death. Anyone who felt this aura would know that they would not live much longer, but to Lucas he only understood the physical appearances since the spiritual effects did nothing to him being the barer. This is more like it... I think it''s about time to go hunting and hone my skills. I might have all these awesome abilities now, but I still don''t know how to use them the most effectively. Quick Update Hey everyone! Sorry for not putting out any chapters today or yesterday as I was busy with various school related things, but don''t worry. I''ll have the next one out tomorrow and I''ll try and keep them at a steady length that rivals chapter 4. The first 3 chapters were quite short when I looked back on them and I decided that it would be to all of your likings if I increased the size so that each chapter would take around the same time as ch4. Also, I''ll be changing my style of writing a bit. I''ll be removing the bold text unless a special event deems it necessary, and I''ll also be changing the POV to an always first person unless notified. I know the chapters change perspectives, but I''ve been keeping it at a weird POV that changes constantly and I just realized that, haha. Mb. Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. TL;DR -Sorry for slacking past two days, I''ll try and keep daily updates but school kept me busy -Chapters will be around same length as ch4 -Bold text will no longer be 3rd person, just used in special situations (ex: for effect, like a summoning or chant) -I''m making the whole story 1st person unless stated otherwise. I walked out of the ravine I was in, looking for a way into some caves. Sure enough I found it after searching for a few minutes. At least my luck is getting better. I walked down the path for a while until a came across a fork in the road. After singing ''Eenie Meenie'' I chose right. I must have walked for around 2 minutes before the path finally split all over the place. It kind of looked like an ant hill''s interior. Paths were all over the place, and the first thing I thought was that there must be patrols going through here. I chose one of the paths at random and continued my way through until I came across what looked like a human sized dog. The difference between this dog and a great dane was that it was on its hind legs. It had iron looking armor covering around half its body with leather on the rest, with a spear in its right hand. I think it was called a Kobold. A type of humanoid dog found as an enemy in most mmorpgs. I was luckily out of its sight behind a rock. I didn''t want to just jump in. I know my stats are abnormal, and very much so at that but they would be useless if I were to die. So, I equipped my Scythe of Death and began walking towards the Kobold. I had already planned an escape route beforehand. If necessary, I would run away through the tunnel I came through, make a right and when I came across a 3 way split I would hide behind a rock. It should just choose a random one and be gone. However, what happened next was something I didn''t expect. As I etched closer to it with every step - my steps were normal walking pace - the Kobold turned my way. Once I was within 3 meters of it, its face of anger quickly turned into a face of complete and utter fear. The fear you would get when you see your most beloved die right in front of you, or have a gun against your head. I took note to see that my thin haze was now within reach of him, and concluded that it gave off some kind of fear. "A fear inducing aoe auto skill. Pretty convenient" I thought about slaughtering the thing since it was a monster, so I stopped around 2 meters in front of it. It was trapped and had nowhere to go, and was too afraid to even move. Thoughts kept racing in my head as to whether or not I should kill it. I wasn''t sure since it wasn''t a demon or beast-kin to my knowledge, however I made up my mind after thinking ''What''s one less?''. I dashed towards it, and before it could even react I slashed my scythe diagonally from the top. To my surprise, it cut the kobold in two. It wasn''t even that difficult. I felt like cutting microwaved butter. There was blood everywhere - me included. What surprised me even more was the fact that I wasn''t grossed out by this. I fact, I felt indifferent. I decided to take this chance and practice swinging this thing. Why I didn''t do this before hand was beyond me. Possibly because I was too eager to test out my strength? What I learned was basically that I was strong enough to slice someone in half with a single strike. While I can''t determine how strong that kobold was, I''m pretty sure that not of those fucks can cut a living organism in half like it was butter. This made me quite happy. Too bad I can''t communicate with Master. I if I could, I would ask if there are skills like Identification and stuff. It could really be helpful. "There is. Just concentrate on something." (Master) ... Thanks master. After that heads up, I was glad that I wasn''t completely alone in this dungeon. I took her advice and looted the kobold. I picked up what looked like a silver coin and concentrated on it.
Identification: Identifies all the attributes of an item. 10/10 Skill Mastery
Skill mastery? And why is it on 10? "Skill mastery is more or less what it says. The higher the mastery the better the skill. An identification on mastery of 1 would only tell you what it was briefly. Ex. A gray coin. However, on level 10 it will give you what you currently see. As for why it''s on 10, that''s another perk I gave you. I can''t have you be spending time increasing your skills, so you''ll always get the maxed out skill when you gain it. The only others to get maxed out skills are the heroes, however I gave you a lot of my power. More than Illia has ever, and I gave it to a single person. She isn''t as powerful as me directly, so you don''t have to worry about someone stronger than you popping up." Thanks master. Well, that sure was reassuring. I checked the screen in front of me as it said:
This a silver coin. It''s worth approximately 1/100 of a gold coin, and 100 copper coins. From the inscriptions of the coin it seems to have been made in Madalone, a city northeast of your current location in the beast forest.
This is going to be pretty helpful. I continued to loot the Kobold. He had a few more silvers on him and coppers. "Do I have anything to store this in?" "Yes. Just think [Dimensional Pocket]" (Master) I did as she said, and a black abyssal portal appeared in front of me. It was a bit larger than my hand, maybe the size of a basketball. I threw the coins in there, and to test it I tried to take it back out. Just by thinking of what I wanted, I was able to take out 2 copper coins without much trouble. This was going to be very, very helpful. "How much space does this have?" "You could probably fit a few mountains in there." (Master) Very reassuring. I continued to look through the Kobold, or what remains of it. The only other thing I found that was useful was the spear. I identified it, and it was a very ow quality spear. Probably forged from an inexperienced blacksmith as it had chips on it. I discarded it since it wasn''t worth carrying. I''ll need to cut the head off the next one I find and take its clothes. I continued my travels and came across another kobold. I identified it this time.
This is a Lower Kobold Warrior. It seems to be very inexperienced with fights, and should not be much trouble to you, however to an average human warrior it is very deadly. Its strength rivals around 2 human men. Its main fighting style is brute strength.
I was loving this identification skill. It gave me so much helpful information. I had the option to see its stats, but I denied since it was unnecessary. This time, I decided to use [Dark Dart] to kill the kobold. I had practiced earlier when I honed my scythe skills and I now have a grasp as to how it works. I can pretty accurately control its strength and flight path, velocity, and whether or not I should let it explode. I set it to some of the lowest settings in an instant and it was now what I thought would be the best to just make a hole in its head. The Kobold noticed me but it was too late. From the time I started to the end of thinking the spell name [Dark Dart] it was already dead. The time was approximately 2 seconds. The speed was maxed out so it was basically a bullet to the head. Now that it was dead, I walked up to it and took the leather it was wearing. It was better than nothing, and it fit me so I was pleased. I ignored the armor and sword since it would only hinder me, and the sword was quite useless just like the spear. I decided to check my skills to see how I was doing. [tr]]

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. I was pleased with my new stats. I gained two levels and my stats went up like 40 points in every category. Around 20 a level, but since it wasn''t exactly 20 I figured that it was dependent on what I used the most. At this rate, when I''m at level 20 I should have all stats over 1200. A huge gain on my part, and not even to mention all the skills and magic skills I can invent. After some self praise, I continued my journey. I came across a bunch of kobolds, but either killed them with a [Dark Dart], or with my scythe. I managed to find a stairway down after 30 minutes of patrolling. Right above the stairs said ''79'' and this made me pretty happy. Most dungeons from my world had around 100 levels, so at this rate it should take me a few days to clear it so long as the levels were the same as this, or only increased in difficulty slightly. I came across a few hordes of kobold a while back, but they posed no threat and leveled me to 8. I walked down the stairs, and it to my amazement, it changed settings. Instead of a cave, I was greeted with a lake. It was dark, and I tried to concentrate but I gained the [Night Vision] skill. Unlike [Dark Dart], [Identification] and [Night Vision] were kind of like activatable passives. They didn''t cost any mana. With [Night Vision] on 10 it was almost like there was no difference. The only thing that let me know I was using [Night Vision] was that there was a slight green tint to my vision. Once I went into the water and started swimming, another two skills were gained.
Breath Holding: Increases the time you can hold your breath. (10/10)
Swimming: Swim at top speeds. Don''t feel the water, be the water. (10/10)
Both of these weren''t skills, but passives. I continued my way through, now with much more ease. I was swimming with much more ease and while underwater I could hold my breath for a very long time. Maybe I became a whale? I kept swimming through the giant lake in search of the exit. I kept swimming down, and I came across some sharks and swordfish on the way. They died with ease with my scythe and I moved on. I must have killed around 30 fish before reaching the bottom which took me 20 minutes. How I was expected to get down here if I wasn''t the Harbinger of Death blessed by my master, I don''t really know. I came across a thin light and swam towards it. It looked somewhat like a light screen and when I went through it, I was no longer swimming. I panicked a bit since I didn''t expect this quick transition, but I caught myself before hitting the floor. I looked ahead of me after scanning the place, and deemed it safe. The number ''80'' with the words ''Safe Zone'' next to it was seen. It looks like there are safe zones inside of this dungeon. Maybe one every twenty floors? Well, it''s nothing for me to worry about currently. I walked down the stairs and came across a flat room with just a stone floor and the next staircase leading the way to floor 81 across the room. It was illuminated by a rock called Zymorphite, which was fluorescent and pretty convenient as a constant light source. I decided to take a break and cook some of the swordfish meat I took and put into my [Dimensional Pocket]. I concentrated on my hand and tried to gather heat in my palm and got a pop-up.
Flare: Creates a small fire in the palm of the users hand. Mostly used for utility. Temp is controlled with the amount of magic power used. (10/10)
I cooked the fish in my hand and chowed down, then decided to take a rest. Tomorrow I would continue. I''ve been through enough for today, and I was tired. It was probably late at night and I should get my rest, whether I''m a demon or not. ---------------- Current Stats:

How''s this new chapter? I think it''s the best yet with more detail than the previous ones. Leave your opinions down below. Hope you enjoyed. :) Chapter 6: I Think I Found The Boss I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. I was still in the cave. I don''t know what I really expected. Maybe that this was all a dream? But even so, who would want to wake up from this? I''ve been bullied my whole life and now I have the power to avenge myself. Who would just throw away that power in hopes that this was all fake? I stretched my arms out, and relieved myself with that slight burning sensation and exhaustion you get when you stretch as hard as you can. I sat up and cooked some more fish for breakfast with [Flare] and ate. After the meal, it was about time for me to continue. I''m on floor 80, and each floor takes like 30 minutes to complete. If the dungeon has 100 floors, it should take me maybe 20 hours. But, this is only if each floor takes me 30 minutes. This excited me. The past 2 floors I have been to have given me no trouble, and with these skills that I''m getting it just makes things easier. If I were to encounter a lava floor, then I might get something like fire resistance. I could complete the dungeon today and bang it out, but I''d rather be careful. I know I''m powerful, but that''s no excuse to just charge in. I will complete it in two days time. I''ll aim to get to floor 90 today, then finish it tomorrow or extend the time if necessary. After my brief planning session, I walked down the stairs to floor 81. As I walked down, it got a bit chilly. AS I descended it got colder and colder until eventually I got a pop-up.
Cold Resistance: Resist all cold. This includes magic and environment. (10/10)
This was going to be very helpful. I started to walk through just like the other floor I was on with the Kobolds. I expected some type of wooly monster, and could only wonder how it would taste. The first monster I came across looked like a mini mammoth. It didn''t have any tusks, but it definitely was hairy. The hair was brown, and covered the entire animal. It was in a pack with several others, and there was clearly a leader amongst them which had a darker tone. Maybe a spruce color. It was also twice the size of the others. I equipped my scythe and shot a [Dark Dart] at one of the mammoth things, then immediately shot another at the second. There were now a total of 5 very confused fluff balls, with two having died instantly. I ran up to them, and they noticed me and attacked. I instantly chopped down two of them and then the other three hesitated. The hesitation was obvious because it was coupled with immense fear. "Really.. this is way too op, haha!" I killed the two that were next to the leader, then looked at it. I used identification and was given an explanation.
This is a common animal found in the Somentor Mountains. It is called the Vashnu and they are descendants of the ancient beast known as the Wooly Vasu. These creatures as significantly weaker, but have the strength of 12 men when charging. Their wool is highly sought after for its protective properties from the cold.
The strength of 12 men? I killed those others so easily. Maybe only the leader has the strength of 12 men. I decided that this would be a good test of strength for me, so I put away my scythe and let it charge me. It stomped its feet after I backed up. It seemed to have gained some confidence seeing me back off, but little did it know I was only toying with it. It began to charge, then reached 30km/hr fairly quickly. I got ready to grab it, and also to jump over it if I couldn''t take it. This hit was going to be the strength of 12 men. It was now only a meter away, and closing quickly. I braced for impact, but to my surprise I caught it fairly easily. Its head was rather large so I just held that. It stopped dead in its tracks and tried to push me, but I felt as though a child was pushing me. I was a lot more confident in my strength now, and then while holding it in 1 hand, and casting [Dark Dart] in my right hand, I compressed it and shot it like a bullet through the animal''s skull. It fell over dead and I searched it. I didn''t expect to find anything since it was an animal, so I just took it''s meat and after using [Flare] to cook it I put it in my Dimensional Pocket. I then continued my way, fighting a few more groups but eventually reaching the path to the 82nd floor. It didn''t take that long. I would say maybe 20 minutes, but I have no sense of time down here so I''m not too sure. I didn''t hesitate in descending and continued. The 82nd floor was just like the 81st. It was cold, but not to me. It only felt like a normal day with a very very slight chill to me. The enemies were generally the same. I killed some groups of Vashnu, but there also these giant bug creatures. They completely disgusted me. They looked similar to hairy caterpillars and I didn''t hesitate in wiping them from existence. I maxed out [Dark Dart]s and added explosiveness. I think it''s safe to say that there once were some giant hairy caterpillars. It was interesting to find out that on max power, these tiny darts left craters that looked like a wrecking ball hit them. This was something I found out upon going around a corner and coming face to face with it. I screamed like a girl and shot like 7 of them and the nasty thing was wiped off the planet. This went on for like 15 minutes until I hit the 83rd floor. From the 83rd floor to the 89th floor, it kept getting colder and colder and some new enemies popper up. I kept killing them all and leveled up to level 28. My stats were now all way over 1400 and I was pleased at how fast they were raising. By the 100th floor my stats should all exceed 2200k, which I can only assume is terrifying. The 89th floor went by pretty well, except the fact that it was another water floor. I guess water levels appear every 10 floors. The water this time was ice cold, and there were seals and other creatures that lived in the cold like giant fucking mutated penguins the size of grown men. The worst thing there was a killer whale, or orca, that was my last obstacle. I killed it with a [Dark Dart] and proceeded. I had no interest in looking any of them since it was irrelevant to me. Plus, I don''t know how long I can hold my breath and I''d rather not test it out while more than 30 meters underwater. I hit the 90th floor and the environment drastically changed almost instantly after passing that light screen similar to before and going down the stairs.
Heat Resistance: Resist all heat. This includes magic and environment. (10/10)
The temperature rose drastically and was now like a warm summer day, but to me there was barely a change. There were creatures similar to the colder levels here, such as the giant caterpillar nightmare fuel. I killed it since it was too close for comfort and sat down to take a break. I''ve been going at it for several hours, and while I wasn''t too tired I was hungry. I took out the Vashnu meat and chowed down. I previously cooked it so that there wouldn''t be blood all over the place in the Dimensional Pocket, as I wasn''t sure if I could even get it out. I would have asked master, but it was irrelevant to me since I already figured that there wouldn''t be blood everywhere if I put liquid. Why you might ask? I just had a hunch. I ate and took a nap, sensing my environment for anything that might come near while I doze off.
Perception: Detect any and all living and magic based creatures within [20 meters] (10/10)
Yet another useful skill, but I had a feeling that this was one of the best I''ve gotten yet. I slowly dozed off.... .... .... .... "Yawwwwwnnmm" I woke up peacefully. Nothing bothered me. Maybe because I was near the stairs. I stretched, and could tell that maybe 5 hours went by. I ate a bit from the Vashnu I had left over and continued to go. I was on the 90th floor and didn''t know for sure how many there were. I was going with 100, so with determination to finish it I headed off. Floor 90 was definitely different from the others. There were now fire caterpillar nightmares instead of frost ones, and there were also salamander looking lizards. I killed them all easily and continued. I wanted to speed things through since this was jus too easy, so I sprinted through the dungeon, killing everything that came in my way. I was pretty fast, maybe as fast as a horse when running. I could tell that I could maybe double my current speed if I tried, but I was in an enclosed area and it wouldn''t be smart. I reached the 91st floor much quicker than before, only taking around 10 minutes this time instead of the 25-30 it would have. I went down, and it got even hotter. I repeated the process as I descended floor by floor. 92. 93. 94. 95. At floor 96, a new type of enemy popped up with the introduction of lava. They were mini-men that only reached my mid-stomach section. I laughed at their height before realizing mine. I was now 1.8 meters tall, and I was astonished. I grew pretty quickly. I wasn''t sure why I was so big, but I was pleased with the outcome. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. Anyway, they were slaughtered with little effort. They weren''t anything special to me and this somewhat confirmed after identifying them.
This is a Loca. These creatures have the intellect of a human being, and are commonly found living inside of volcanoes. They are responsible for many mined ores that are found inside volcanoes.
The fact that they had the intellect of a human was surprising to me since they just attacked without haste. I figured that this dungeon must change them somehow. Maybe making them real-world npcs because they are dungeon monsters. I continued my way through until I hit the 99th floor. I was eager to find the end, and hoped that there were 100 floors. I sprinted through the 99th floor faster than before, as fast as I could. However, upon turning the corner to find the exit a long ways away, there was lava covering the straight pathway to it. I was hesitant at first, but that only lasted an instant as I quickly became confident enough in my resistance. I increased my speed to the max and ran on the lava. It slightly burned, kind of like the sidewalk on a hot summer day and I kept running.
Liquid Walking: Liquids do not cause any issues for travel. Simply walk on top of them. (10/10)
That was very helpful, and after activating it I was no longer sinking while running, but only the soles of my foot touched the lava like it was a floor. I sprinted and sprinted until I reached the end. I deactivated [Liquid Walking] and stood at the stairs. I was glad that it was finally over, and that was definitely the hardest thing I''ve come across yet. I checked my status to see how I''ve been doing.

I was impressed with my stats. I was level 35 and all my stats were over 2.2k. I was confident and descended the stairs, making my way tot he 100th floor. To my amazement, the 100th floor was a pathway. It only went forward, leading to a door where I could only think the boss of the dungeon was at. The hallway was decorated with lights on the side of the room. There were various pillars all over on the sides, symmetrical and it looked astounding. I was blown away with the look. It looked like the demon lord''s castle, or what I thought the demon lord''s castle might look like. In my excitement, I walked through the door after pushing it open I took another step through. There wasn''t anything from what I could see, but I eventually heard someone speak after standing there for a few seconds. "Looks like I finally have a visitor! Too bad you won''t be staying long!" (Mysterious Girl Voice) I already knew there was someone in the room from [Perception], but I figured that it was the boss. I turned around, while I was in the middle of the room that was beautifully decorated and filled with light. There was lava under the platform I was on, and it suited the lair of the dungeon boss. I was astonished upon seeing the boss jump down. It was what looked like a girl that was maybe 16. A year younger than me. At least, that was only looks. "So... you''re the boss..?" "What do you think?" the girl said as she puffed out her chest, expressing her breasts which were pretty small and to my liking. She was no loli, though, as she was up to my shoulders. She just had below average breasts. But anyway, I ignored that part and continued thinking. Well, I don''t know what I expected. I should have known it would have been a girl considering my position... I checked her stats to see if she was the boss.

I was speechless. This was probably one of the strongest beings in the world, and it is close to half as strong as I am. Hahahaha! This is great! Chapter 7: +1 One Harem Member? Long Chapter Ahead. :) Bold = 3rd Person Italics = Mc talking inside his mind (NOT HIS THOUGHTS) ------------------------- I stood there staring at her as she made her ''amazingness'' known. She was still puffing her chest out, and after a minute of silence, she opened her eyes to see me just staring. Bewildered, she asked: "Are you not intimidated by me and my awesomeness?" (Dragon-Girl) "Uh.. Well, not really. It is pretty interesting to see a dragon-kin here though, and no less the protector of dragons." "How do you know that I am the protector of dragons, and am also known as the Dragon Lord?!" she said with an awe struck face. "Well, I didn''t say you were the Dragon Lord... but as to your identity I used Identification on you. It gave me all the knowledge of your stats. I didn''t care for a description of your life story so I left that one out." It was true. This was probably going to be a cliche moment where she would go about explaining her story to me, but after I told her that I didn''t care much for it I hoped she wouldn''t say anything. After some time of silence with a confused look on her face, I was relieved that it seemed to work. She shook her head quickly and regained her composure. It seemed like she never expected someone like me to be so casual in front of her. "Well... I.. uh.." A few seconds passed by with me waiting for her answer. While she was trying to find out what to say, she suddenly stopped and got serious. This initially surprised me, since she has been an airhead this entire time, and this was the only time I have seen her like this. She then spoke. "Wait.. you are a demon, are you not? Why are you here, I thought this dungeon was in human territory?" She glinted her eyes at me. Throwing daggers as she wanted to know how a demon managed to slip past the humans, enter the dungeon, and single handedly arrive to the bottom floor where she resided. I can understand her confusion, as she must be thinking something serious happened while she was trapped down here. I decided to truthfully answer her, since I can kill her whenever I want if she became too annoying. "You are right. This dungeon is in human territory, but I must also enlighten you. I was not always a demon." These words seemed to have shaken her. A very confused look appeared on her face. She took a defensive pose since this was something that should not be possible. Thoughts such as ''Maybe the humans developed an illusion spell to trick me?'' must have been running through her head. "No need to get tense. And I really mean it. It would not help you in the slightest." She became agitated and even more confused. "Alright, I''ll explain. I was one of the humans summoned here for the hero summoning." She immediately got ready to pounce, but before she could- "BUT." she stopped. "Those fuckers were the ones blessed. They bullied me my whole life in the other world. In case you don''t know what bullying is, they basically beat me to a pulp every day. Said the worst words you could thing of without a shred of dignity and treated me like a tool. I was kicked. Punched. Beaten. Nobody helped me. Why would they? I was of no use to them. I wasn''t smart. I wasn''t handsome. I didn''t have a dangerous family background, like belonging to what you guys might equal to a kingdom''s royal line." She was stunned by these words. I peered into her very soul, and she understood I was not lying. I had no reason to, but she knew because of something else. I am not sure of what, but probably with thousands of years of experience she had a few tricks up her sleeves. She seemed to almost understand what I was saying, but eager to hear the rest of my story, she got rid of her defensive posture, while still being wary of her surroundings, she listened. "One day, after they finished beating me, class started. The teacher, Ms. Ream, walked in. Once she was in and she shut the door, a bright light flashed. Everyone panicked, and before we knew it were are all laying on a cold hard ground. When we finally realized what was happening it seemed that we were transported somewhere. We were all in a state of shock, so none of us really said anything until we met the king. Now, the king, that son of a bitch, was the one that did this to me. That started this whole thing. After we were given cards so we could see our stats, everyone marveled at the amazing stats of the leader of the fuckers who beat me every day. He had the leader title and also had very high stats. When my turn came, however, I was overjoyed with the thought that I could finally be rid of them. I would finally not be beaten any more. I could finally hold my ground. But, as life is, it isn''t fair. I was given horrible stats that most people of this world had. In comparison to the so called ''Heroes'', I was just a nuisance. Josh, the leader I was talking about earlier, decided to do something nobody thought he would do, even though he was a douche-bag. He called me out for being a satan worshipper. In our world, Satan is the king of hell, or the king of demons. Now, with the pope right next to me and the king, a devote follower of their so called ''just'' faith, they had me executed. Instead of a normal beheading however, I was thrown down here from a bridge. When I hit the ground, every bone in my body must have broke and I died instantly." I stopped for a brief second. The dragon girl was now very attentive. Listening to everything I was saying. She seemed to show sympathy in her eyes, and a lot of sorrow, and now even more eagerness to find out what happened next. And without her telling me, I knew she wanted me to continue the story. "I awoke in a dark place. No light anywhere, yet light everywhere. I was confused at first, but quickly came to realize that I was dead. At my death, I finally came to realize the anguish of the beast people and the demons. How the humans inhumanely raped, pillaged, killed in the name of ''justice''. Every one of them was guilty of bearing hate towards the demons and beasts for no reason. Even the children. And the beasts and demons just fought back to survive. The humans were the greedy ones who pushed the demons to the desolate lands, and now the demons wanted to reclaim their rightful position. It was during that thought I heard a voice. Monalee began talking. I learned that she was opposite of her sister Illia, yet not. She was a god of death and darkness, but she wanted the demons and beasts to prevail. Illia was greedy and let the humans have it all, pushing her sister back. With my will and hate for humans, Master took a strong liking to me as her hope. Since Master was stronger in terms of overall strength than her sister, she put as much power into me as she could, and I was remade. To help with getting on the good sides of the beasts and demons, I was turned into a demon. What you are looking at is my new body, and along with my new body came stats that rivaled all the heroes put together. However, what set me apart was my growth. I went from stats of 900 to over 2,200 in a few days in this dungeon. Yours are around 1500, so even if you wanted to kill me you can''t." I finally finished. The dragon girl was taken aback. She took a while to comprehend what I had just said, but doubt still filled her eyes. She must have been one of the strongest beings, yet she was told that against him she could do nothing. If he wished, he could have killed her in an instant. If she attacked blindly at first then she would have been killed on the spot without understanding her situation. It took her a while. She was thinking. A strong sympathy in her eyes. She had finally met someone who hated humans so much that Monalee after all these years had given her blessing. She must have truly believed that this man in front of her was the demons salvation. The only thing that could stop the humans was him, and after millenia of waiting he finally arrived. I must have waited for 10 minutes before she finally stood up. She looked at me and said: "If you are truly who you say you are, the Savior of Demonkind, the savior of beasts and demons from the animals known as humans, prove it. I have only witnessed Monalee bless one other human in my entire existence. I have lived for thousands of years, and there was only one other savior of demonkind, but he ended up getting killed after falling in love with a woman of the church. She lead him to the church and while he had his guard down, he was killed by the strongest priests on this planet. He possessed a weapon of immeasurable power. The power to insert fear to the mightiest of foes. He rivaled me in power at the time, and may have even beaten me several times if we fought, but the weapon he possessed seemed to increase his power further." I had a feeling I knew what she was talking about. That scythe that was a soulbound item of mine. The Scythe of Death. "Show it to me, the Scythe of Death, and I will pledge allegiance to you and serve you so long as you live. I only pray that you are not as foolish." There was a brief moment of pause, until a very small smile appeared on my face. She looked at me seriously and awaited my answer, getting ready to kill me in an instant if I did not show it to her. "... very well." Was my response as I pulled out my scythe. It was much darker and stronger than before. It seemed to consume the souls of those it killed and grow in strength along with me. A very convenient weapon. The radius it induced fear was now around 20 meters at maximum output. I of course could control this at will. The dragon girl in front of me shivered in fear, as I had yet to see her as an ally so she was inflicted with the fear of the weapon, yet she tried desperately to keep her sanity. A smile was across her face as a tear appeared on her left eye. She seemed to be so happy that the fear was being dispelled, but its effects were still clear seeing her legs shaking. I pulled in the radius to be almost non-existent. With the fear gone, the girl ran towards me. I was started at first, but the run was clearly not of any intention to provoke a fight. She hugged me tightly and said to me while crying: "hic.. finally.. hic after so long hic.... my savior hic.. our savior!" (Dragon Girl) I didn''t know what else to do in this situation. I have never come across this. The only girl to approach me other than my mother was Alyssa, and I harbored no intimate feelings towards her, and she never cried while hugging me before. I did what she used to do to me when I was in pain. I raised me hand, and patted her head, consoling her. "It''s alright now. The humans won''t be able to do anything to you here. I''ll get rid of them myself..." I said to her while patting her. She cried more and finally after several minutes stopped. With he face still on my shoulders, she told me her name. "I am Morgan, the Dragon Lord. May I know your name, master?" (Morgan) I stopped for a moment. My old name was Lucas, and this could be my chance to change that name that bound me to humanity. I thought for a while, and she separated her body from mine, sitting in front of me, waiting for my answer. After a good minuted of thinking I finally thought of a good name for someone forsaken such as myself, and I looked at her. "I am Lorne, the Harbinger of Death." Morgan smiled and bowed at me, very respectfully. I was glad that I didn''t have to fight her, as it would be a shame to kill not only someone I am fighting for, but also someone with looks like hers. She was gorgeous, and even more so than I had remember when I first saw her. Only now did her beauty shine through. Her wavy red hair that reached down to her shoulder blades contrasted very well with the scales that covered portions on her body, like her arms and legs. Her hips were definitely visible, and her lips were a beautiful pink color. I almost lost myself in lust before bringing myself back, then I looked at her in the eyes. She seemed a bit embarrassed. Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. Crap... she saw me. Oh well, it was over now and she saw that I was done examining her. Then I asked her something that was on my mind for a while. "Morgan, why have the humans been trying to conquer this dungeon? There must be something valuable down here for them to go to the lengths they did to reach here." Morgan was silent for a little bit, unsure of how to answer, but quickly regained her composure and answered. "At the bottom of each dungeon, after you beat the dungeon boss as you call it, or in your case befriend them, you have access to a divine treasure. This divine treasure is a one time use power-up of sorts. The humans want to gain it for their own selfish reasons. My dungeon is one of the harder ones, as it deals heavily in environment instead of just throwing brutes to attack. It has yet to be cleared, as the farthest anyone has gotten was the 79th floor, in which they died by drowning, and yes as you have probably guessed I added water to the levels before every 10th. 9,19,29,39, etc. The humans have already conquered two out of the 7 dungeons probably, gaining a lot of power. The demons have only conquered one, but it was the weakest dungeon. This is because of their resources. They may be stronger than humans, but strength isn''t the only thing they need. On the topic of the treasures, they give the one who consumes them a certain amount of levels instantly. The levels depend on the dungeon conquered. The ones the demons conquered gave them an orb which gives 15 levels instantly. The humans obtained an orb which gives 25, and an orb that gives 40. They will probably use them on the strongest of the heroes that were summoned." This was going to be very troublesome. While he still may not be able to rival me in strength as of right now, he probably gained a good few levels while I was gaining them. He is most likely at level 20 by now since he was blessed. It basically multiplies your growth rate. Mine of course is also multiplied, but mine is slightly stronger. If he (Josh) were to gain 75 levels while I am stuck at 37, then he will most likely rival my power. "Morgan." "Yes Master?" (Morgan) "Please don''t call me Master. Lorne is fine." She blushed a bit, then answered. "Yes... Lorne." (Morgan) Cute "Anyway, what is the divine treasure here? I assume it''s another crystal." I asked, with a hope that with this crystal I could gain a lot of power. Even though it''s selfish of me to think of power, in the long run it benefitted the entire demon and beast race so even if they had it in their possession they would probably give it to me since I was their salvation. "Yes Lorne. It is a divine treasure. The crystal I possess will be able to raise your level. I will get it right away." She said, and then walked off past the circular room we were standing in. I was left to myself. Or so it seemed from the outside. Master, is this person someone you know? "Yes, Lucas. or should I say Lorne?" she laughed slightly as she was amused at my choice in naming. I can only assume that she was acquainted with you at some point. What is the story if I may know? "Hmm, I don''t mind in telling you. A few thousand years ago, she was the leader of the dragons. She has already introduced herself as the Dragon Lord, and you even saw it on her status so I won''t go into detail about that, but she was a very strong individual. She was a dragon-kin, which is a kind of high ranking beast-kin. So, she prayed to me as I was and still am her god. I answered her prayers one day as the humans fully attacked the dragons. I managed to save the little dragons I could, but as I am not allowed to directly interfere with the mortal realm too much I could do little to help the situation. In return for her devotion throughout the years, I made her a dungeon lord, or boss. This dungeon was created to her liking in my realm, which stopped time so she made it there. It took her a few hundred years, but she finished it and I placed it in the human territory. She became the guardian, while the other dragons fled far away. Why did she become the guardian so willingly you ask? Well, she gave up her freedom to have me save as many dragons as I could, even if it was just one or two. That was the price she had to pay, and she was forever grateful for my intervening as the dragons have grown slightly in population with the few dozens I saved out of the hundreds. I told her that one day there would be a man that would come to the dungeon. He would not be human, but a demon, and he would possess the Scythe of Death. A weapon made of my power to grow with the bearer and never be separated unless the soul, destroyed." So, you saw into the future and knew of my arrival? "I only knew that there would one day be a demon that would possess the Scythe of Death and my blessing who would save her. I used up my energy to see the future a long time ago, and it takes twice the amount of time I used to regain the power, so I can''t just peek into the future for you." I see... So that''s her story. Why would she make me her master? It must be because I was sent by you, right? "that is correct. If you were another powerful individual she would have fought until her last breathe, but seeing as how you were sent by me and the savior she has been waiting for for all these years she submitted. Plus, you are the salvation the entire race is looking for. You will bring real justice to the world unlike the humans, whether using violence to slaughter anyone in your path, or breaking your way into the pope''s office and killing him. But I would recommend not doing that. At least not yet." I see. Thank you very much Master. I noticed Morgan coming back with a large spherical orb in her hands. "Very well Lorne. I will be watching if you need guidance." Thank you, Master. "I see you are back, Morgan. Is this the treasure that you have been protecting?" She walked up to me, and while facing me answered. "Yes. This is the treasure that will raise your level. It will raise it by 50 levels, and judging by your current stats you said you had you should benefit greatly." She began to bow and hand it to me, but I stopped her and simply told her that she is to not bow in front of me unless I tell her otherwise. She seemed a bit confused at my statement. A servant shows their master the utmost respect, so it is understandable. Morgan''s thoughts: If he is telling me not to bow like a servant... then does that mean... he wants me to be his wife?!! Back to Lorne: She began to turn red and fall over. I quickly realized that she was dropping the orb, so I caught it and then caught her respectively. She realized she fell over and looked at me while she was in my arms, she turned even redder and then quickly got up, bowing and apologizing. "I''m sorry. I''m sorry. I''m sorry. I''m sorr-" (Morgan) She saw me lift my hand and thought I was going to hit her, so she braced for impact, but was startled when I started patting her head. She blushed and just sucked it up. "it''s fine. You''re clumsy, and it''s kind of cute. Just be more careful." Hearing this, she turned even redder where I could barely recognize her and turned around. I then looked at the orb in my hands. I was wondering how to absorb this thing, so I asked her. "Morgan, how do I absorb this?" She turned around and realized she hadn''t explained it so then she started to explain. "Hold the orb with both hands and concentrate on it. Try and feel for a presence in the orb, and once you do reach out to it and you will absorb it." I did as she was told, and held the orb in my hands. I put it eye level and stared at it. I tried to feel for something there, and I finally found something after a few minutes of concentration. I was initially startled as it felt like I was holding a person for a brief moment, but I realized it was the orb and continued. I tried to reach out for it, and then I felt a tug. Instantly, a lot of power flowed through me. It felt like an Altoids mint, but throughout my whole body, and twice as bad/good. After some time, I noticed Morgan with an excited gaze. I checked my status, and was extremely happy with the results.

Contracts
Morgan, Dragon Lord
The Contract addition left me with a few questions, but I understood it quickly and ignored it. I felt like I was invincible. Like I could destroy this entire dungeon with the flick of my finger. So I looked at Morgan and asked her. "Mind if I get us out of here another way?" She looked at me with a very cute face, licked her lips, and a hint of getting turned on was seem which I don''t even want to know how I could tell, but she answered. "Please do" I smiled, and decided to create a new magic. ---------------------------- Sorry for the messed up font. I am not too sure what happened. When I tried to preview the post and double check it, everything became like this and I can''t fix it. The story is intact thank the underworld, but again I am sorry for the font and spaces. :P Chapter 8: Newfound Power Bold - 3rd person Italics - Mc talking to Monalee in his mind ---------------------- ... "Please do" (Morgan) I smiled, and decided to create a new magic. I looked up towards the ceiling that was covered in black bricks. This was the toughest material inside the entire dungeon since of course it was the boss'' lair. There was going to be a huge fight here. Or at least there was supposed to be. I continued to look up, then closed my eyes and lifted my hand and concentrated on a tiny ball of condensed energy. I was thinking of ''Final Flash''. A move from one of my favorite characters in a particular show I loved watching, but a lot denser and cleaner. I spent a few seconds thinking and trying to condense my magic into the attack. I know that this explanation is a bit late, but Magic Power and Mana are basically the same thing. Magic Power determines how strong a particular attack is. A fireball using 10 magic power will be much weaker than one using 100 magic power, or mp. However, this also measured how much you could exert. Your magic power would be full, but once you start using magic it will get smaller, making you use less power for the attacks and causing more stress on the body. Since I have over 6000 magic power, I could shoot 2 3k powered blasts of whatever magic and pass out. Reaching zero makes you pass out, which is something I came close to upon experimenting in the dungeon. At the same time, it seems to take approximately 5% of your entire mp and convert it to mp regeneration per 2 seconds. The status doesn''t show it, but I tested it before when I drained myself of magic power to see how fast I regenerated. It should regenerate around 300 points every two seconds with my current power. Of course, though, I just estimated the loss of magic and the consumption by monitoring my body. It was a type of innate feeling. I can''t really explain it. I just always knew just the amount of magic to use, how much I lost, etc. Anyway, no more math. My head hurts. I am still concentrating on what magic to make, and I put the necessary amount of magic power into the attack to blow away the dungeon. It will probably cost around 6k points for this attack, but it will shake the heavens! I opened my eyes, and was now ready with what I wanted.
New Skill
Echo of Space: Create a mini black-hole to absorb space energy and release it in a blast so powerful it shakes the heavens. (10/10)
Just as the skill said, in my palm as it pointed towards the sky, a very very VERY dense mini black hole was created, however it didn''t suck everything up. It released an aura that put a lot of pressure on Morgan as I saw her fighting it to stay awake. The gravity of the area was multiplied several times as even I felt like I was being pushed downwards a bit. The pitch black sphere in my hand started to absorb the air around it, and it glowed somehow despite being nothing but darkness. I kept it pointed at my target (the entire dungeon) and kept adding more magic into it. I must have been at around 3000 before I realized that this thing was maxed out in mastery, so if I put in 6000 then I would probably kill Morgan and destroy a portion of the area completely. So, I stopped putting energy in it and released it. It disappeared for a second, before reappearing as the small sphere it was but this time accompanied by a black light that shot upwards out of my palm. It''s diameter covered the entire room as it shot up and the power pushed me down and through a lot of the floor, but I kept my ground. The power was immense as it destroyed the entire dungeon, reaching the sky. ------------------------------- A few days have gone by since Lucas was thrown into the dungeon and killed. All the summoned ''heroes'' were busy training as it was mid-day. Alyssa had still not gotten over Lucas'' murder, but she knew that she had to keep going in hopes that she would be able to rescue him. With that determination she trained diligently, trying to become the strongest despite being a support. The sun had risen and was in the middle of the sky. With no clouds, the sun shined brightly, spreading its heat across the city and its surroundings. Alyssa was in the Priest section of the training building. The building was made of a lot of glass to look out of not just so the citizens could see the heroes and maintain hope, but so the heroes could act on anything that they saw through the glass and raise their reputation. This of course consisted of crimes like robberies or brutalities. Alyssa heard a bunch of screams from all around her while she was training. It took her a moment to register the screams from when they began, but she managed to understand that there must have been a commotion going on. She had been training and had been so focused that she didn''t realize what was in the sky. Far away, near where she knew was the Atriarc Dungeon was a giant pillar of absolute darkness. You could not see through it, and it seemed to be an elongated black hole of some sort from the eyes of those educated in the matter. There was panic all around her as her classmates could only guess that the demon lord had attacked, or that the god they deemed evil finally made her move. The priests who were accompanying the heroes to help them practice were dazzled at this spectacle. The pillar of darkness was large. Very large. It reached into the sky and out into space without stopping. If it was aimed at the sun, who knows if it could have even damaged it in some way. Maybe that force even moved the planet known as Illiana (named out of respect for Illia) out of its past gravitational orbit. Everyone panicked out of fear until moments later the dark abyss piercing the heavens disappeared as quickly as it arrived. You could hear soldiers shouting to head towards the dungeon in alarm, and Alyssa held a weird feeling in her chest. She could only wonder in amazement, despite the unlikeliness: "Lucas...?" ------------------------ I stood there in amazement at what i had just accomplished. Everything above us was destroyed. It was consumed by that pitch black magic that shot into the sky. Something you would see a god like Zues do in a movie, but black and magnified many times. There was a huge hole above me and Morgan that was 30 meters in diameter. The dungeon was blown away for the most part, and I had a hunch that humans would be coming to investigate. After all, how the hell could you miss seeing that in the sky? For all I knew maybe even the demon lord saw that. "huff... huff... huff... That.. was... amazing!" (Morgan) "Hehehe, thank you. Thank you very much" I winked. She blushed a bit. I love that this world doesn''t know about the references from my old world. "Well... huff... Woo! Okay, I''m better now. That took a toll on my body. A pretty good exercise after all this time. What would you like to do Lorne? We can probably head towards the demon capital of Noxun, Tandspes. I am sure you would like to see other demons. Plus, dragons are sacred there for being so ancient and rare. I would probably have a very close status to the demon lord over there so we should be fine. You can also arrange a few things to take down the humans." Morgan''s suggestion was very well thought out. If we go there, we would have no trouble meeting the demon king and we could definitely come to standards and take over the humans. For a man with so much power, I wonder if he is any stronger than Morgan, and what he might look like... "Hey Morgan" she turned to me and looked, abandoning her past action of admiring the scenery. "How strong is this demon lord, and what does he look like? Does he look similar to me? I''d like information on him and I also have been wondering if I looked like any other normal demon but have been very doubtful lately due to the fact I was transformed via the powers of a god." She looked at me in the eyes, with a hint of concern on her face. However, that was wiped away when she realized what my personality is. "The demon lord is a bit stronger than I am, and averages a power of 2000. One comes to power right before the heroes are summoned. The heroes then group up and grow strong, then take on the demon king all at once. He usually kills most of them before getting finished off, leaving only 4-6 of the original 15 or so to return victorious. Once he is killed, another takes his place through a power unknown to us. We know it is Monalee, but we do not know how she goes about it. When one sees an insignia appear on their chest a day after the demon king''s death then they will be chosen, and that insignia gives them power." She stopped for a moment and then continued after catching her breath. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. "The demons generally have a light gray skin tone and small horns on their heads while the demon king has a darker tone similar to yours, with horns half the size of yours. Also, none of the demons have those red markings on your body or a tail." A what?... "I originally assumed you were some god coming to mock me as I have never seen you before, but it''s clear that I was wrong in that assumption." She finally finished her explanation. ''I have a what? A tail?'' Were thoughts swirling around in my head as I vigorously thrashed around trying to find it, until I found it wrapped around my waist. I tried moving it, and overlord behold I was able to control it. "Oh wow! This is awesome! I have a tail!!" It was pitch black, which contrasted well with my dark gray skin and I thought how easy it would be to kill someone at night with this quitely. They would never know what hit them. I basically switched from man to kid mode. I was jumping around and actually chasing my tail. Morgan was at the side laughing her ass off at me, but as I was too ecstatic that I didn''t care. After a while I got over myself, and proud that I had a tail I turned to see her on the floor crying and laughing at the same time. "Oi... enough of that. It''s time for us to move." I was blushing as I just now realized how absurd I must have looked. Morgan looked up at me and seeing me blushing she only laughed a bit harder before calming down and standing up all red in the face from the laugh-crying. There were still some giggles out of here as she stood there but I ignored her. "I think it''s time for us to-" I was cut off as I heard a thundering of what sounded like gallops coming from the east.
New Passive
Hearing: Listen to the quietest sounds across vast distances. Be able to hone your hearing and hear only what you wish to hear. (10/10)
With the new passive, I was now able to adjust my hearing to a godly level and hear the voices of the humans on horses from a long distance away. "We are close, onwards!" (?) "Prepare for battle soldiers, do not let your guard down!" (?#2) Morgan looked at me confused and seemed to not know why I was so quiet. I went back to normal and faced her. "It looks like we have some company." She looked at me a bit confused. "What do you mean?" (Morgan) "There are approximately 700 men on horses charging here. Human men. They most likely were told to come here by the church and investigate. I wouldn''t be surprised if some scouts were also sent with them to see how they fare and report anything out of the ordinary to the church. Do you want to kill the scouts or leave them be?" Morgan looked at me, now understanding that I must have felt their presence or something along those lines. While me estimating the amount of soldiers was a bit shocking to her as she heard and saw nothing, she replied. "Let''s let them go. It will spark some drama, and they will most likely underestimate us since they probably think we can''t catch their scouts." I thought about it for a moment. It was a good plan at first. Let the scouts return and report the slaughter they saw, and the church would be scared shitless. Those pricks would get cocky and send assassins thinking that we can''t handle stealthy types. They would underestimate us. But... we could also kill all the scouts except one. We can capture him and make him watch as we ruthlessly kill all the other scouts in front of him and have him return while scarred for life. I decided to relay the info to Morgan. "Actually... no. We''ll capture one of the scouts and have him watch as his companions are killed without effort in front of his eyes. He will be filled with so much fear he will want to hide away forever, and then we send him back to the church in his state. He''ll relay the information in such a gruesome way that it will notify the heads. They will probably try and bring as many people to guard the kingdom as possible, and when we attack we would only kill that many more. Of course, there is the small possibility they will flee but in that case I will just obliterate the kingdom off the face of the planet. 1 kingdom being lost would be our first step. Then we can take out the rest of the kingdoms and hopefully preserve their buildings for our own use." Morgan looked at me in shock, not expecting such an elaborate answer. Of course I also had several more countermeasures in case the heads fled without the rest, but that is for another time if necessary. She seemed to love the idea as she didn''t like the idea of letting so many humans go. However, killing them brutally in front of a bound messenger was to her liking, and mine as well. I would also rather not see too many leaving the scene. I''d like to only let the scout leave if possible. I smiled at her, and she smiled back, it was intimate in a way and there were some feelings of understanding. "Well then, it looks like the party is about to start. Are you ready?" She understood as she knew they were very close to our location since she heard them loud and clear. "I''m ready when you are" (Morgan) Then, from the east came hundreds of men on horses who came within 20 meters before realizing we were demons and the lead who was most likely the commander screamed at the top of his raspy lungs. "KILL THE DEMONS FOR JUSTICE!!" I simply looked at Morgan, she smiled back, I did the same, and we both turned towards the man. This was going to be fun indeed. ---------------------------- Thanks for reading everyone. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I planned to finish the chapter after the fight with the soldiers but since I started a bit late today I had to cut it short. ;P Stats:

Morgan, Dragon Lord
Chapter 9: A Starting Journey And A Case of Fear 3rd person: There was a stampede of humans on horses charging. The ground shook as they got closer. After the call from the leader, a large portion of the soldiers headed towards Lorne and Morgan. Demons were known for being strong, and they could usually take on around 20 normal soldiers by themselves. This was the minimum of power for a demon, as they ranged greatly. The portion that continued its charge consisted of around 400 soldiers. Lorne and Morgan smiled and held no fear. This stunned the leader for an instant before he blew it off as simple fantasy. Morgan disappeared from the vision of the soldiers before a large blast was heard. Their entire formation was destroyed and everyone was stunned. A huge portion of around 75 soldiers were just blown away. The ones in the front were instantly killed, while even the soldiers farthest away were blown off their horses. There was a lot of blood everywhere, and everyone was now focused on Morgan. With fear imbedded in their eyes, they thought about retreating for their lives since they realized she was a dragon, but the voice of their commander snapped them back into unison. "Don''t fear! Everyone attack the dragon, she can''t kill us all!" (Commander) Cheering and roaring was heard at the same time, while the other soldiers all attacked Morgan and the entire force''s attention was on her. Lorne was ignored, which was what he wanted and he disappeared from the battle. The fighting went on as Morgan was killing dozens per swing of her fist, but she did not remain uninjured. She had a few scratches here and there, and she would not be able to maintain here onslaught if the enemies numbered more than 700, but they were lucky. Lorne appeared behind one of the scouts, unnoticed.
New Skill
Hide Presence: Move without anyone knowing you exist. Become the shadows themselves as it slivers past without notice. (10/10)
With this skill, he could remain unnoticed forever, but Lorne had no intention of doing so. He put his hand on the throat of the scout, and even though he had trained his entire life in stealth and detection, this bewildered him as he deemed it impossible. Fear stuck the man as Lorne''s grasp concealed any and all sounds that came out of the man. Lorne whispered in the man''s ear: "Now now... Struggling will do you no good. I just want you to send a message to the Pope or King after I show you a little something." The scout was confused at this statement, and stopped struggling as he had come to terms with the fact that it was useless. Suddenly, the guard along with Lorne were gone from that spot, and appeared before another scout. With scout number 1 in Lorne''s left hand, he used his right hand to stab through the scout''s chest. Red blood gushed out, and a crying was heard from the scout who had just had his chest pierced. However, Lorne then grabbed something and pulled. He ripped the man''s heart out. His still-beating heart as it continued to pump without any use. He raised the heart towards the scout in his grasp. The scout panicked and tried to scream as the heart of his friend was put in front of him. He looked down only to be mortified further in seeing his friend''s wide-eyed corpse laying on its stomach with his head tilted to the left to which he could view his lifeless eyes. Without a break, Lorne continued to kill two more scouts brutally. The 2nd one he killed had his spine ripped out, while the third and luckiest was instantly killed via his head being blasted away with a [Dark Dart]. The scout was hysterically crying having just watched his friends murdered in the worst ways, and his crying was the only sound left. It was quiet, and there were no other sounds except for his crying, and Lorne''s breathing. Another disappearance due to Lorne''s speed and they appeared before Morgan. She had finished killing all the soldiers and was covered in blood, with scratches all over her body. The scratches were nothing to her as they were already healing at a high speed. They would be gone by the hour. The scout was thrown to the ground while still crying. He was broken. He just watched his friends tortured and murdered, and now he set his gaze upon the horizon of death. Bodies covered the entire ground as it outstretched for a long time. Piles here and there, and fear on most of their faces as they lay there lifeless. ----------------- Lorne''s POV: I looked down at the guy as he was shaking. It was actually quite sad when you think about how all these people were his people. But... He would have done the same. He would have laughed on the battlefield of his foes and not have given a second thought as to whether they deserved death. Humans are horrible creatures. They want to live how they want, ignoring all other interferences. When things don''t go their way they curse the heavens and have a tantrum. I should know best, as this has happened to me. However, instead of cursing god specifically I decided that humanity was a better option. I don''t plan to care for the demons all too much, but they indeed do deserve an uprising. The humans should be finally killed off after all their hogging. Once I am finished here.. hopefully I can take Morgan and we can go do something fun besides saving an entire race. I looked at the tired Morgan who had just gone through killing around 700 soldiers. I stepped closer to her and patted her head. "Good job, Morgan. I''m actually very pleased with this outcome, and I have a better grasp at your capabilities." She smiled like a kid and got all excited. Her dragon tail waved a bit like a dog, and it was very cute as she blushed a bit. I then turned my head towards the wailing man on the ground. Morgan while smiling did the same. She was still happy I praised her, but otherwise she would have a bland face on without emotion. "Mr. Scout, You will be leaving here alive today. It looks as though you are very lucky. I want you to go report back to the Pope or the King. If you can''t then arrange it. Tell them exactly what you saw here today, and make sure the Heroes hear of this event too. The most important sentence you will say to him is: "Lucas is back for revenge with a new name. Lorne. Train for the day we next meet, and I will see you then." Make sure that is told to the heroes. The fun has only just begun. Now then.. Leave." Upon hearing my words, the man stood up hurriedly and almost tripped, but then dashed off as fast as he possibly could heading straight for the kingdom. With this, everyone will know that I have obtained a power that should be feared. The heroes will become terrified. Several will abandon their efforts and give up hope, while others will train harder, but all will be induced with an overwhelming fear after seeing that man return alone covered in blood with a message from me along with an entire platoon slaughtered. Very amusing. I only wish that I could be there and see their faces. Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. "Morgan, I think it''s about time we head off. Do you have any problems going to Tandspes in Noxun? I''d like to meet the demon lord. I have a feeling that we''ll have some fun." She just nodded her head, agreeing with me and said: "I don''t have any problems. The last demon lord I have seen was several thousand years ago, and it will be fun like you said. When two beings as powerful as the demon lord just waltz on in. Of course you can hide your power, but I''d rather show mine." She finished with a mischievous smile. Since we were both on agreement, we decided to head out. If we needed food we could kill some animals and I could cook them using [Flare]. Horses and other means of transportation were unnecessary since we were many times faster. It would probably take us a few days to reach Tandspen by the speed we were going, so I proposed something to Morgan. "Hey Morgan, it is going to take us a few days to get there at this speed. If I were to dash there it would take a lot less time. Do you want me to carry you?" I knew this was a dumb question that most girls would outright deny, but Morgan was different. Not only was she logical and a ditz, but she obviously had feelings for me. And I''d be lying if I said that I couldn''t return those same feelings. just to my expectations, the reddened and agreed to my idea. She seemed a bit reluctant, but was willing to take this opportunity to get closer to me. Thus, we stopped for a moment and I held her in a princess carry. She squirmed a bit until she was comfortable, and after I gave her a quick smile because of how cute she was cradled in my arms, we bolted off, breaking the sound barrier. --------------------- 3rd Person: Off in the distance, in the opposite direction of Lorne and Morgan was a man. He had brown hair with brown eyes, very typical, but he had a somewhat girlish face. For his age he was one of the more handsome of men, but right now he was drenched in blood. Specifically the blood of his allies as they were brutally cut down one by one in front of him. The same men that he would hang out with at the bar. Laugh with. Work with. Now, they were gone and the only thing left of them were their lifeless bodies off in the distance and the memories of who they once were. The man ran and ran, not stopping despite his shaking legs as he had to get this information to the higher ups as soon as possible. He got closer and closer to the city gates, but they held no safety. Watching the man who was most likely stronger than the barbaric woman who killed 700 soldiers, he knew that the walls held no protection. He could easily slip by them, or even break them. As the blood soaked man got close to the walls, the guards had noticed someone running as if their life depended on it. They called out. "Hey! What is wrong with yo-..." The guard was cut off mid-sentence after seeing the man drenched in blood. The guard''s only thought was ''huh?'' as he was completely in a state of confusion. Stupefied, he stood there and watched the man get closer, but snapping back to reality and getting his weapon ready in case this man had ill intentions. However, the man ran straight up to him and slowed before coming to a stop. Upon closer inspection, the guard noticed the man to be a part of the Holy Soldiers. There were top-rate soldiers of the kingdom, and he was a scout nonetheless. "What is wrong? Why are you..." The guard couldn''t finish his sentence because of the mortifying scene. "Huff... please... I need to see the Pope..huff... it''s an emergency!" The man spoke with tears in his eyes and clearly scarred for life. The guard instantly let him through, and even ran alongside him until the man became so weak that the guard was forced to carry him. He ran straight for the castle. He should have no problem since the Holy Soldiers were issued orders by the Pope''s secretary, and the Pope was currently residing in the main castle with the King. The guard was stopped several times before him, the man, and a group of soldiers all ran through. There were maybe 8 soldiers accompanying the man to get the information through. They passed the training grounds where the heroes were, and many of them including Alyssa and Josh had seen the commotion, and followed where everyone was running. Eventually, around 20 soldiers and 10 heroes including Alyssa and Josh arrived in front of the king and the pope. "What... is the meaning of this?.." The king was the first to break the silence. He was genuinely unsure as to why a scout would need to see him and the pope, but him being covered in blood gave hints to a reason which should be impossible. The pope, upon seeing the man''s uniform recognized him as one of the Holy Soldier Scouts. "Speak, man, speak! What happened out there, and why are you covered in blood.?!" The pope shouted aloud as he feared that something terrible happened, in which his prediction would be correct. The man in question was currently sitting on the group, panting. He seemed to have recovered his exhaustion from being carried, so he was able to speak. "Your holiness... it''s..." there was a silence. Nobody spoke, and none dared to. The scout was obviously traumatized indicated by his constant shaking. After a few seconds, the scout looked back at the pope and continued. "We arrived at the dungeon, and there was nothing left of it. It was obliterated. However, the soldiers seemed to not realize that it was gone since they came upon two demons. Or, a demon and a beast-kin. One was a dragon, and the other was someone... or something I have never seen. His skin was very dark, and his horns were very long. He also had 5 of them atop his skull making a crown." After hearing this, everyone was confused. The pope especially, since there were only demons with 2 horns maximum and the demon lord only had two horns as well. "Fi-.. Five horns?" The pope spoke aloud. Not believing what he just heard. "Yes..." The pope and the others of the world found that hard to believe. The heroes did not understand, but after a bit of thinking they must have thought that two must be the max, or something of that nature. "Anyway.. the soldiers charged in. They saw the dragon, and with 700 troops they knew they could take her. However, the most confusing one was the man. Along with his skin being dark gray, his very long horns numbering 5, and his piercing red eyes, he had red markings all over his body. I had never seen them before. He also had a tail that was pitch black. No demon has even been seen with a tail before. That was only to the monsters and beast-kin. His tail, however, was similar to the ones you see in children''s stories. It was pointed at the end in the shape of a spade." Everyone listened attentively, waiting for the ending. "I immediately knew something was wrong, but the soldiers dashed in without thinking and began attacking. The man emitted no power so it raised my awareness further. I hid as best as I could and waited to see more so I could gather information, however the dragon killed around 70 soldiers in a single punch. She was very powerful, however that was to be expected because she is a dragon. But.. the most alarming part was how the demon disappeared. I frantically looked around, but couldn''t find him. I couldn''t feel his presence either. At least until I had a hand around my throat. I was lifted and he told me that struggling would be no good, and after he showed me something he would have a message for you, the Pope." The scout then shivered... and laughed a bit as his sanity drifted off, but he somehow managed to bring it back. Everyone around him was startled at not only the story, but how he almost became insane in an instant. "The next thing I saw was the back of one of the other scouts. His name was Roofus, and he was a great guy. Fun to be around and always cheery. However, my heart dropped at what he did next.. i couldn''t warn Roofus since his hand grasped my throat and prevented me from making noise, but the demon shoved his hand into Roofus'' back. I saw his eyes widen as pain must have struck him like it never had before. Then... in front of my eyes... his heart was ripped out. This continued until all the scouts were dead. Some were more lucky than others in their death. Some had their spines ripped out, others'' heads were blown clean off in an instant and disappeared after being stuck by a black mass of magic. After I was crying and breaking down, we moved yet again, almost likely teleporting, but now in an ocean of dead bodies. Every one of the 700 soldiers was dead. And they were killed only by the hands of a single dragon-kin. The demon and the dragon had a very quick chat, until he turned to me. He spoke these words to me, and told me to relay them back to you: "Lucas is back for revenge with a new name. Lorne. Train for the day we next meet, and I will see you then."" At these words, everyone became silent. Then, one body dropped to the ground on their knees crying tears of both joy and horror. Chapter 10: A Snobby King and His Reaper "WOOOOOO!!!" I was screaming at the top of my lungs as the air was zipping by. Cruising past the speed of sound felt amazing! I felt like the ultimate predator. Not only was I incredibly fast, but I was able to perceive everything I passed. My perception was just outstanding as the current moment in time. I was clearly enjoying myself with a huge grin on my face, but Morgan didn''t seem to be too thrilled. She dipped in and out of consciousness which was hilarious. She would wake up screaming, only to fall back into her sleep once again. The way her head bobbed as she knocked out was pretty amusing as well. My sides began to hurt after a minute of this. It took maybe 7 minutes to finally get close to the demon capital of Tandspes. This was just about the time in which Morgan began to gain control over the speed we were going and was able to stay awake. She was obviously distraught, but held on. We got closer and closer extremely fast. We must have traveled around 140 kilometers or so to reach where we were in around 7 minutes. Definitely better than horses. I started to slow down to 180m/s and kept that speed as we reached the capital. We got closer and I slowed to compensate. I made sure to keep my presence hidden, and I stopped within walking distance of the capital''s gates. I put down Morgan, and she shook her head quickly to orientate herself. "That was uhh... Interesting.." (Morgan) "Hehe, I loved it. It was pretty awesome going faster than sound. And it only took us maybe 7 minutes to reach here." Morgan stopped, having regained her sense of balance, and stood up firmly. "Alright. We should get going. I doubt we will have trouble entering. But, Lorne... please try not to kill anyone. I mean, I doubt you will since they are demons like you, but there are lords who are somewhat like human nobles. Since demons rule with power, the strong dominate the weak. There isn''t any rape or anything similar, but there is extreme discrimination at times." (Morgan) "Alright alright.. I will try my best to not do anything irrational. But if they have it coming than it isn''t like you can stop me." I said, with closed eyes. I opened one and peeked at her, only to mysteriously seeing her blushing. The only clue would be that she likes guys who can overpower her on a whim, but that''s just a guess. She truly is weird with her tastes. We then began walking towards the gates. "Morgan, with what you said earlier.... How have the demon kings you have met been? Huge dicks... or?" "It''s been on and off. From the ones I have met, there were nice ones. Ones that truly cared for their people, but there were others that were power driven. And when the heroes killed those types I didn''t feel too bad." (Morgan) Interesting. So, there is a 50/50 chance I''m going to end up breaking the demon king''s skull. We walked and eventually reached the gates. The guards were visibly alarmed and started panicking. I chuckled a bit to myself and Morgan did the same. It was actually very funny watching them. It''s as if they were in middle school and the girl they had a crush on just walked by. They jumped all around, and as we continued to walk, one of them came down from the wall to us in a hurry. "H-Hello kind visitors, what m-may we have the p-pleasure of helping you with?" (Guard Leader) The guard said in an obviously terrified voice. He looked to be the leader of the guards since he had a golden badge on his chest, despite the others all having silver or bronze. Please by his tone, I replied to him: "All, hello. We were just about to visit the Demon King. We have some important business to do with him." The guard froze at those words. "Y-yes o-of c-course. P-please head this w-way!." (Guard Leader) We followed the man as he guided us through the capital. We walked through several districts. Passing shopping areas and living districts. There were a lot of people that had their eyes on us. It is most likely because of Morgan since she is a dragon, and dragon''s are known for their strength and rarity, but I wonder how I looked to them. A demon with 5 horns, and darker skin than the demon king alongside red tattoos. We walked for a while. Maybe half an hour in silence until we reached a huge castle. The guard them wished us luck, after signaling the guards of the castle to let us through. He then scurried off back to his post and me and Morgan glanced back at him as he ran, looked at each other, then forwards. Once again, we walked. The castle was remarkable. Similar to the place I found Morgan in, it had a very royal feeling to it. Yes, I''m very intelligent. A royal feeling in a castle.. get over it. Anyway, the walls had an amazing amount of detail. Everything had work put into it. From the plaster in between the bricks on the walls, to the intricate patterns of the stones on the floor. There were magical lights all over the place as we were lead by one of the guards towards the king''s throne room. We weren''t asked any questions, and I was thankful for that since we didn''t have to make up any stories, of waste our time talking about unnecessary things. The guard finally stepped away from us when we reached a giant set of doors. He went up to it. He knocked several times in a specific order. Knock knock. Knock... Knock knock. Knock knock. Then, the giant doors fit for a titan swung open slowly. The room on the other side was made for a king indeed. There was a red rug leading up to the throne, which was completely made of golden and had so much detail on it. The throne had intricate patterns just like the floors and walls, but it had even more. The designs can''t really be explained, as there was no story. Just designs. Diamonds, Xs, lines... It was gorgeous. On that throne, sat a male demon as large as me. His build was a bit larger, showing that he was a tank of sorts. He had two horns on his head like the rest we saw, but they were indeed larger. Not as large as mine, however. Upon seeing us, his eyes widened towards Morgan, and he shooed the guards away. They proceeded to close the door behind us. "Who dares just barge in without any notification? I can see a dragon, but even you have no right to just walk in here. And you... I have never seen a demon like you before. State your name." (Demon King) I was annoyed. "You have quite the annoying tone. This is Morgan, the Dragon Lord." In response to my words, Morgan bowed her head in a ''Hello'' type of way. "And as for me, I am Lorne, the Harbinger of Death. We came here to help you finally kill the humans, and we are your only chance at doing so." The demon king put on a disgusting face, as if looking at a pile of shit. He only held this towards me, and I was pissed. "I need you? I do not need you. YOU are but another demon. You do not possess the strength to turn the tides. This Dragon Lord, here, has the strength." The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. I''m done. "UNHOLY FUCK, you are annoying. That arrogant attitude is unreasonable. You won''t shut the hell up. You aren''t better than me. I could destroy this entire continent in the blink of an eye, and you would have no power to stop me." "Lorne! Calm down, please don''t kill him! Let''s try and solve this reasonably!" (Morgan) "I''M ANNOYING? YOU ARE THE ONE WHO SHOULD SHUT THE HELL UP. COME HERE AND I SHALL TEACH YOU A LESSON!!" (Demon Fag) "Oh boy.." (Morgan ._.) "Alright then Mr. Tough Guy!" I walked up to him, and we met half way. He had a giant sword in his hand, and we both jumped back to begin the fight. He then charged towards me, but he was incredibly slow. At least he was slow to me. I reached my right hand out, then materialized the Scythe of Death. Upon doing so, the Demon King stopped in his tracks. He became terrified. He had probably never seen this before, and possibly never even felt true terror before. He couldn''t even take a step forward as he was frozen in place. "Lorne, what''s done is done. Just kill him. You can take the throne and lead the demons to war if you want" (Morgan) I stepped closer and closer to the terrified demon king. The ground under my feet cracked and exploded with every powerful step I made. Nobody had come in yet, most likely due to the fear they were experiencing. Not from my scythe, but the fear that if they opened the door they could die instantly from whatever was going on inside. "Don''t worry Morgan. I''ll end his life quickly. He has been far too ignorant. Do you have anything you would like to say before I kill him, Morgan?" She thought for a bit, then replied. "Nope, not really." The demon king''s face dropped further. It sank so low he was practically on the floor. I stepped once more, and was now right in front of him. One swing with the scythe and I could behead him. I would be the new king, huh?... "Morgan." "Hmm?" (Morgan) "I don''t want to be a king. Being hailed as something great isn''t to my liking.. I think that I''ll kill him and let the next one show up. Hopefully they will be better suited for the position. If they aren''t, I''ll kill him and we''ll try again." Morgan was stunned that I declined such a position of power, but seemed to understand. I wasn''t something normal. My abilities were much, much higher than anything currently residing in the cities. Even the heroes and demon king. If I waited for another king to show up, then I would be able to introduce myself and immediately get off to a good start. With the dead demon king next to me, I doubt he would provoke me. And that''s all I really care for. If he end up being corrupt behind my back, I''ll simply kill him. "Alright, Lorne." (Morgan) She smiled. "Ok then. Time to end this, Mr Corrupt Demon King." I turned towards him with a smile befitting a harbinger of death. He paled as he looked into my glowing eyes, and I brought up my scythe for the execution. "Hail to the King" *Zzt* *Thud* The Demon King''s head rolled... --------------------------------

Morgan, Dragon Lord
Looks like my stats increased even more than before, but I doubt that that is important. To my surprise, the Demon King''s body disintegrated into nothingness. I put away the Scythe before Morgan spoke. "That happens to all Demon Kings. Their power is in their bodies, so when they die their power is given to the next recipient. They should get their power within the day." she said as she walked over to me and leaned on my arm a bit. I was taller than her by a decent amount so it was cute. "The bastard had it coming to him. He should have looked at the horns on my head. They were practically screaming superiority." I said with rolling eyes. Morgan beside me laughed a bit before getting off me and walking towards the door. She looked back at me and motioned her hands for me to follow. "It''s about time we leave." (Morgan) "Yeah, there isn''t much left for us to do.." As we said that, we opened the doors and heard scared screams from the outside. I smelled something disgusting and just as Morgan was about to walk out, I grabbed her should and prevented her from moving forward. What greeted us was a bunch of scared shitless soldiers. Literally. There was shit everywhere. It was as funny as it was disgusting. Morgan''s face turned green with disgust as I was trying not to laugh my ass off at our failed cool looking exit. I took the initiative and hopped over everyone, sending them all into a panic. They fled and a few of them slipped on the waste they left behind, which made me almost fall over. Even with over 6k strength it was hard to remain standing while laughing you ass off. They had nowhere to go since we were blocking their paths, so I told Morgan to come here. "Hop on over here Morgan. They don''t want to pass us." She only nodded and hopped over. We then walked out of the castle after passing the hallways and paths we used to get to the throne room. When we exited, there was a bunch of people crowding the entrance. I was confused until Morgan spoke up. "The demons can sense when their leader dies." I looked at the huge crowd of people, and they seemed to be scared. I heard some murmuring in the crowd. Most about me having 5 horns, but my red marking were also mentioned. I took a step forwards and they took a step backwards. I continued to walk normally and Morgan followed me and a pathway was made for us to leave. We made it through the huge crowd of what seemed like the entire city and I looked back at the castle. "We''ll set up camp at a nearby town or city. We''ll wait a few days then come back to meet the new Demon King." The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Morgan agreed with my point, but.. "Certainly, that makes sen-...." She went quiet. I began to smirk at her, and she sweated in response. She knew what this would mean, and she wanted to run away. Even if she ran though, she wouldn''t make it far. I am much faster than her. She looked down at the floor and my smirk became larger. "Ohhhh Mooorrrgaaannnn~" She became motionless and froze up in fear. I had to hold back my laughter at this sight. "You knowww~ I think we should get a head start on the day. We wouldn''t want to waste time when we could relax the rest of the day." I was now smiling menacingly with my fangs showing. In response to my teasing, she turned around and began walking away. I simply followed. She sped up a bit, and I followed suit. She then sprinted full force, and I laughed before going so fast I basically teleported to her, catching her. "NOOOOOO" (Morgan) She tried to struggle, and I replied with laughing and detainment. I then blasted off in the direction of the city with her screaming. I came across a random pedestrian who fell down in fear. "Hello sir, do you know where the nearest town is?" "Nonoonnonnnonnnonooonononononno" (Morgan) After taking a few seconds to understand the situation, he replied. "There is a town called Gohrgen just southwest of here. It''s rather nice. It has inns and an Adventure Guild." I was please with his answer. "Thank you. Have a nice day." After saying that, morgan yelled even louder as she felt me tense up a bit then we rocketed off faster than sound towards the southwest. Just like before, she dipped in and out of consciousness and I couldn''t help but laugh at her. She was definitely going to be pissed at me, but it was funny so I didn''t care. ---------- After jumping and jumping, blasting off every time I hit the ground we neared the town of Gohrgen. Morgan seemed to get used to the speed a bit as she passed out less than before. when she saw the town, he eyes lit up. Within a few seconds we arrived at the town. I didn''t know where to land, so I landed in the forest a decent distance away from the town gates. Morgan slipped out of my arms and landed on the floor, hugging it. She sure is glad to be on the ground. With tears in her eyes she yelled at me. "How could you, you bastard!" While laughing a bit, I replied: "Because it was funny" With puffed cheeks, she got up and walked towards the town gates. She didn''t run. She would honestly probably puke if she ran. A dragon that is afraid of heights, huh? Hehe.. I caught up with her and we walked. I was a few feet behind her, as she was still mad at me. She would get over it soon. I just wonder how she''ll handle it when we have to go back. Note: Keep in mind this is a Demon town. With demon guards, and demon residents. I landed pretty close to the wall, so we didn''t have to go too far. After like 5 minutes of walking in silence we reached the gates. One of the guards saw us, at the watch tower and turned around, shouting something. The gates opened and a guard came out. He looked at us, and before even speaking he ran back inside. I tuned in to hear what they were saying thanks to my Hearing Passive, and I was able to hear two voices. "Captain! Captain!" "What''s wrong? Is it a human invasion?!" "No, there is a dragon-kin here with a demon that has five horns!" "What? Let me see..." After that, it was footsteps that were running to the gates. "They are coming and bringing the Captain. It''s about you being a dragon-kin and me having 5 horns." I said that as I realized that my tail way swaying behind me. He didn''t see my tail because of my positioning, but if I left it out they would find it. So, I wrapped it around my waist like a certain prince with a scouter after his planet was blown up. Right after doing that, the Captain and 3 others ran out. After huffing a bit and with a shocked face, the Captain spoke up. "Ah.. We welcome you both, please follow us so we can answer any questions you have." I nodded while Morgan just eyed the Captain, looking for any hint of hostility. We walked with the Captain through the gates and into the town. It was quite lively, and from before I landed I looked at it. The town was pretty big. As me and Morgan looked around, it was almost comparable to Tandspes, the capital. We followed him as he made a sharp right towards a section that was probably his office. He told us to sit down politely and he took a seat himself at his desk. "So, What would a dragon-kin and a... demon, be doing together and coming to Gorghen?" (Captain) There was a brief pause before Morgan answered. "Me and my master Lor-" (Morgan) I hit her in the head lightly, but enough to stop her talking and cause her to rub her head. The captain raised his right eyebrow towards my action and her words, but kept quiet. "Me and ..Lorne came to visit Gorghen after doing business in the capital. We have to wait a while before what we need is ready so we came here to relax." (Morgan) "But the capital is a few days away. Why didn''t you just stay there at an inn? (Captain) Before Morgan could speak, I spoke up. "We both want to register at the guild. Our friend who is a blacksmith told us to come here while he was finishing our weapons since there was an Adventurers guild here." The captain''s eyebrows raised in understanding, and he shook his head to himself before speaking with a smile. "I see I see.. Well, Mr. Lorne, you should take those fake horns off or you''ll attract attention." (Captain) sigh "These aren''t fake." "Eh?" (Captain) "They are real. See?" I said as I began tugging on them. He was surprised and barely kept his composure. "Ahhh....." (Captain) God dammit I broke him. Morgan was quietly laughing next to me. Great. "So, Captain, we should be on our way. We''d rather not take up all of your time." I got up and Morgan did as well. The Captain just replied with noises that sounded like an ''Alright'' and we left. I smiled a bit, and we left the barracks and headed to the store district. ------------------- I''m going to rotate daily between this story, and my other story Re:Avian. Tomorrow will be A Different Kind of Hero, then the next day will be Re:Avian, followed by this story again. Chapter 12: The Guild and Stereotypes This color = Monalee talking to Lorne Italics = Lorne talking to Monalee --------- ~Lorne~ We walked out of the barracks and made our way towards the shopping district. I didn''t have any money, so I would have to do something to get enough to stay at a nice inn for a few days. "Morgan, how do you feel about signing up as adventurers and making a bit of money?" She looked at me a bit confusingly, as if asking why I didn''t just steal the money. Before she could speak up I told her: "I may be evil in some ways, and I may not care about lives all too much, but there are a few things I don''t like. These include stealing from innocent demons, and rape of demons or non-humans. I am the savior of demon-kind after all." With a face saying ''Oh'', she just responded with an "Okay, we''ll register." I smiled at her, and she blushed a drop and looked away, and we made our way to the shopping district. Walking into it, it was similar to the city. Not as much people, but there was a decent amount. I walked over to a random pedestrian and asked him if he knew where the adventurers guild was. The man pondered for a few seconds, but turning around and pointing towards the direction of the guild. "Just walk that way, make a left then a right, and you''ll see it. You shouldn''t miss it." (Randy) "Thank you." He walked passed us and gave a gesture with his hands saying ''''You''re Welcome". I nudged Morgan a bit and we continued forward. As we were walking, a girl bumped into me. She was a rather beautiful demoness. "Sorry, I''m in a hurry!" (Demoness) With that, she ran ahead and out of sight. I turned my head towards Morgan and she was staring daggers at the girl. I wasn''t sure why though. Maybe it''s a girl thing? After that ordeal, we continued to walk to the guild. After a few minutes Morgan spoke. "You know that there are people following us, right?" (Morgan) Morgan whispered into my ear. I began to feel their presences a bit after we left the barracks. The Captain must have regained his senses and sent people to see what we would do. "Of course" With that reply, we didn''t talk about it again, and we neared the Adventurer''s Guild. It was the largest building we encountered so far and from the looks of it, when that man said we wouldn''t miss it, he was serious. The building had three floors, and was maybe 3 stores long. For a time where technology wasn''t enough to build skyscrapers, it was impressive. It was wooden, and it had a green roof that was shingled. The most noticeable part was the large sign in the middle on top of the first floor that read "Adventurers'' Guild". Without stopping to marvel it''s beauty, me and Morgan walked to the front door. It had a ''gate'' similar to an old western swinging door. After walking through it and feeling like a western bounty hunter, we proceeded through rotating doors. What we walked into was what I expected. There were some desks with reception workers talking to adventurers, and there was seating areas. There was a bar to the far right, and a quest board on the far left. "You look a bit impressed. Is there something interesting that you see?" (Morgan) "Ah.. well, my world doesn''t have an Adventurers'' Guild, or any magic or monsters for that matter. We have made books and manga about things like this though, and the building here is pretty accurate to what we guessed/imagined." "Manga?" (Morgan) "A picture book of sorts. I like to use the internet though." "...In-tur-neht?" (Morgan) I laughed a bit about how she said it. "Don''t worry." After our chat was over, I looked again and saw that everyone was looking at us. I didn''t like the hateful glares all too much. Morgan was also getting a lot of looks. However, for a different reason. "Let''s just go register. Ignore their stares." With a nod, Morgan began walking to the counter and I followed. Whispering flooded the room but I ignored it. I focused my attention towards the receptionist. "Um.. Hello, welcome to the Gorghen Adventurers'' Guild. One of the 3 major guilds. How may I help you?" (Receptionist) The receptionist was a blond demoness, and she had fear in her eyes. I wasn''t particularly sure why, but I answered her question. "Me and my partner would like to register as adventurers." ~Morgan~ Partners? As in partners in love?!! ~Lorne~ Behind me, Morgan became very red for some reason. I ignored her and looked back at the receptionist. "Ah, oh course. Please follow me to the testing area." (Receptionist) We were led by the receptionist out of the main hall and further down. I never really realized, but the guild was rather large. It definitely lived up to its name as one of the 3 major guilds. After walking a bit, we arrived at a white walled room. At the center was an orb. We were motioned to walk through. With Morgan still beat red, we walked towards the orb. "Please place your hand on the orb. It will publicly show your stats and name for us to record and input to your guild cards. We will also rank you according to those stats." (Receptionist) Morgan nodded and walked forward towards the orb, but I was set into a state of panic. Master, is there a way to hide my stats somehow? If I show them, things will get very complicated. Hmm... I don''t think it is possible. You can hide stats from others that use [Identification] on you, but this orb is different. You shouldn''t worry though. They are demons, and they are what you are fighting for. If they get in your way then simply kill them. You are very good at that little demi-god of death, hmm? Demi-god of death? You''ll see in due time. Just put your hand on the orb. Yes master. Morgan placed her hand on the orb, and information was popped up.

Morgan looked at me with a confused face, and I laughed a bit at the receptionist''s reaction. We waited for not even a minute before the receptionist ran back in, followed by another girl. I almost fell the floor upon seeing the girl. It was exactly what I expected the guild master to look like, and I began to lose faith in this world and how easily it continued to meet my expectations. The stereotypes from my world were really too powerful. The girl was a blond loli demoness in important looking clothes. Her hair was in pigtails and she had blue eyes. "Is this her?" (Guild Master) "Yes" (Receptionist) After the receptionist answered, the guild master''s face became concerned once she saw the stats that Morgan threw at her. The loli took a few steps towards Morgan. "Just who are you, and why are you here?" (Loli) Morgan looked at me, and the loli caught on and turned towards me as well. After seeming to understand that Morgan was looking towards me for an answer, the loli guessed that I must be a superior of some sort. "Answer." (Loli) I looked at her and became a bit mad. I glared at her and received a message.

A bit happy with the new skill, I used it and put in around 500 mp (magic power). With that, the loli''s face stiffened and she was clearly under the effects to some extent. She was about to act and attack me, but I walked towards the orb and stopped the stare. She was freed, but deeply confused. "What the hell are you doing?" (Loli) I didn''t stop. "Watch." Her confusion halved and became interest as well. I put my hand on the orb to show her my name, stats, and title. This was the best explanation I could give her to shut her up and show her who is superior.

The loli stopped moving and just stared. I wasn''t even surprised at this point. She broke. I should have seen this coming. "Where is the guild master''s office? Lead me." I talked to the receptionist, and she was about to look at my stats before I ran in front of her. It didn''t look like I ran, but more like teleporting because I moved so fast. I did it to block her view of my stats so she wouldn''t faint. (Edit: Think of a sidestep, but multiplied by like 5. There was wind, but it was in the receptionist''s eyes [POV] so she barely saw the movements.) She became very scared as I looked at her and she nodded her head and walked out. I grabbed the loli who still hadn''t recovered and we followed the receptionist to the guild master''s office. She motioned inside once we were at the 3rd floor and I walked in, followed by Morgan who had a very angry face. It must be because I was holding the guild master. I laughed a bit at her and she became a bit red and turned her head away as we walked into the room. I continued to move forward and I sat the guild master down in her seat. I then took a seat on one of the couches in front of her desk, and Morgan did the same. She sat right next to me. Next was the waiting game. ----------------- Just to put it out there, Lorne''s name is pronounced as ''Lorn''. The same ending as ''Thorn''. I''m sure a lot of you have been pronouncing it that way anyway, but there might be a few sounding it otherwise. I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. :) Chapter 13: Loli Acceptance [td colspan="4"]Hello![/td][td colspan="2"[ Wow![/td][td colspan="2]Not so Wow![/td]
~Lorne~ "Hey Morgan, do you know about the 3 major guilds?" I asked her bluntly. I was honestly curious. The 3 major guilds, meaning throughout all the adventurer guilds. Humans, Beast-kin, and Demons. "Uh, I am not too sure what you mean." (Morgan) "Like, do the 3 guilds represent the 3 races? 1 for each race. Humans, Beast-kin, and Demons?" "Well, you are correct." (Guild Master) Instead of Morgan answering, the guild master answered. "Looks like you recovered?.." After a brief pause, she replied. "Those stats should be impossible. What have you done? The Status Projector should not be able to be tampered with, yet I can somehow believe what was shown." (Guild Master) "Well, believe it. I''m here for you guys after all. We should put some trust in one another." The loli put on a questioning face. She obviously didn''t know what I meant, and from that I could guess that she didn''t see the titles I had. "Did you see his titles?" (Morgan) Morgan spoke up, questioning what I was thinking. I was secretly proud of her for understanding. "Ah.. uhm, no I didn''t." (Guild Master) Lorne 1, Loli 0. "Well, is there a way to show you my status other than having to go back down to that orb?" I didn''t have much hope, but I didn''t want to get up. "No. The Status Projector is the only thing that can show other people your status." A bit dejected, I sighed. I was about to get up, before my eyes widened as I realized that I was basically a god on this world, so I should be able to teleport us all there. I focused and tried to imagine us being warped into space then teleported into the room where the orb was. I stood up, and a window greeted me.

Right after reading that message, I cast the spell and we teleported to the orb-room. I had a smile on my face since I easily pulled it off, while Morgan and the loli both landed on their butts, letting out an ''oomf'' sound. The loli guild master had a look of absolute confusion on her face, while Morgan was just a bit upset at me for not telling her we would teleport. I walked back over and touched the orb, letting the loli look. At first she had a half angry half scared face as she looked at me, then she looked at my stats. She began to read out loud. "Lorne.. Level 94.... Harbinger of Death? I''ve never heard of this before. Humanity''s End?.... Savior... of.. Demonkind... by Monalee....." (Loli Guild Master) She went quiet after that. The silence lasted a while, then she simply stood up straight and looked over at me. "Are you really here... to save us?" (Loli Guild Master) Her face was showing a range of mixed emotions. A lot of confusion, with some relief, and a look at if saying ''This can''t be real''. I let the silence prolong for a bit more before I walked a bit closer and stared her eye to eye. "That is half yes and half no." Upon my answer, loli''s eyes widened. She was about to say something before I interjected. "Due to circumstances, I will be helping the demons overcome the humans. I thought about killing most of the humans for you guys to take over, but that would be boring and honestly you guys would fall quickly with that state of panic. I hate humans, not demons. My main reason for helping you guys is not only that master has asked me to, but also the fact that I have issues with the heroes they summoned." Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Loli''s face was still the same. Confused. Scared. Unsure. However, I simply teleported us back to the guild room. She was a bit startled, but regained her composure. "I am here to have fun and to kill the humans. I don''t want to see them simply fall. I want to personally ruin their lives one by one. To start this, I need connections, and what better place than an Adventure Guild run by demons? I''d like to request a few things for you to do if you can." She was still silent. Most likely organizing her thoughts together. Morgan walked next to me, and the loli and her looked at each other. This went on for a few seconds before the loli spoke again. "Alright. However, I have a question I''d like to ask." (Loli) Shouldn''t be a problem. "Alright, ask away." "Were you the one who blew up the Atriarc dungeon?" (Loli) I turned my head to Morgan, who also looked at me. We laughed a bit before I turned back. "Yes. I wanted to test my new power and to have a grander exit." I said as I blushed a bit in embarrassment. It isn''t like it was seen on my dark skin color or anything, but I still turned away reflexively. "So, you blew up an entire dungeon with a single attack all because you wanted your exit to be fashionable?" (Loli) ... "..Yes?" The Loli''s face changed to one of enjoyment and she began to laugh. "Haha.. Ok, hahaha, I''ll help you out! What is it that you need?" With a smile on her face, she seemed happy to cooperate. I smiled back and got ready to begin our discussion. ------------------------ ~3rd Person~ Back at the castle, the scout had just told the story of his encounter with Lucas... or Lorne. Alyssa had dropped to the floor and started to wail while the rest of the heroes present just stared forward in fear. Thoughts like ''How the hell did he live?'' floated in their minds. Their confusion soon became fear as they had heard of what Lucas was capable of. That meant that he was now at least as strong as them, if now stronger. Panicstruck the group and the heroes began to squirm and leave in hurries, now knowing that they had to train. Lucas had talked very confidently, and he had a very strong companion. He would definitely be coming for them soon. With the heroes leaving, and the Pope alongside the nobility and inhabitants of the world moving elsewhere, only Josh and Alyssa remained. Josh became filled with anger. He hated Lucas. He hated him for no justified reason, he only hated him. Knowing that Lucas could potentially be stronger than him made Josh infuriated beyond compare. He stormed out of the palace to go train, and left Alyssa by herself. Alyssa was currently crying to herself out of happiness. She was absolutely overjoyed with Lucas still being alive. She wasconcerned as to what he had gotten himself into, how he obtained those powers, and why he had become so cruel, but those thoughts were pushed aside. For now, just having him alive was good enough. Being able to continue knowing that she would most likely be able to meet him again made her happy. It was a new motivation. A more positive one than the half assed training she had done for the very slim chance she might meet him. Now she had to train to be useful to him. With that, Alyssa got up. She quickly wiped her tears off. After looking up at the ceiling of the castle and admiring the paintings quickly, she turned around. Looking up at the sky with a red face that had just stopped crying, she smiled before walking back to the training area to begin her training seriously. ------------------ Short chapter today, I know. I was busy yesterday and today with a weekly update of a game of mine.I have decided to focus more on this story. I have a lot planned for it, and I''ll need a lot more time. Besides that, Re:Avian has been getting a lot of hate. The more important reason, though, is that since the two stories have contradicting ''feelings'', it ends up messing them up. For instance, this one is part comedy with seriousness and anger, meanwhile Re:Avian is more sophisticated and calming. When I go to write one, I usually end up writing in a style similar to the other. It messes up the flow. Next chapter is going to be more focused on Alyssa and Josh so you can understand the drama that is happening at the castle after getting Lorne''s message. Reason for No Update Sorry about the no update, but I got a migraine yesterday and passed out at like 4pm. I had around 14 hours of sleep, and went to school today only for it to bother the hell out of me again. In order to write this and let you guys know I had to set the brightness all the way down on my computer, so I apologize. Expect a chapter tomorrow since it should be gone by then. Chapter 14: Heroes Predicament ~3rd Person~ Out of all the heroes, only around 8 directly heard what the scout had to say. Most of them ignored the mob and continued to train. However, it didn''t matter since word had spread fast. There was a city-wide issue that was being addressed as a code word known as the [Uprising]. This name was given by the king and his consultants mostly because of Lorne, of as they knew him - Lucas. None had expected the boy to survive, much less a drop down into the Atriarc Dungeon. Especially the Atriarc dungeon since it was the hardest discovered by the humans. The knights that had personally ''gotten rid of'' Lucas were thoroughly questioned, but they were eventually deemed as truthful. While the kingdom was in distraught, the worst were the supposed Heroes who were responsible for this. The ominous message left by Lucas notifying them that he would be coming for them as concerning, and sent chills down all their spines. The fact that Lucas had gained a very strong companion, alongside gaining strength himself was concerning. It was even possible that those two were not him, but friends of some sort. The idea of a human becoming a demon was not in the air, thus they became even more worried as to who these two figures were. Out of all the heroes, Josh was angered the most by far. He absolutely hated Lucas, especially since he knew Alyssa had feelings for him. After getting rid of Lucas, he had foolishly thought she would jump into his arms. Yet, Lucas somehow survived and gained strength. Whether that demon was him or not, it doesn''t matter. All that mattered was that there would be a time in the future where they would be fighting, and Josh was not strong enough yet. After he ran out of the castle, he went to the barracks to group up with his friends. He told them everything he knew, and they became agitated as well. Seeing Lucas as nothing but a stubborn cockroach that refused to die. Thus, Josh alongside his group left the city with a few of the city soldiers to farm and get stronger. Josh especially. They went out in their own dispatch consisting of Josh, Susan (the girl who likes josh), Jacob, Connor, and Kyle. With this group of 5 and 5 other soldiers from the capital, they went out into the forest trail just outside the city. Their goal was the Atriarc Dungeon. Josh knew that it was destroyed, but there were most likely still monsters around the area. They got on horses and rode off to the dungeon. After not too long, their group reached the Dungeon, or what remained of it. "Oh god..." (Susan) Susan let out what everyone else was thinking. What remained was a giant hole that was the size of the dungeon. The size of the hole was around 120 meters in a circular shape. Josh got close to the hole, but was cautious as to not fall in, and looked down. It went down for a long period of time. He could barely see the bottom, and where the broken edges resided was a soft smoke. The edges looked as if they were burned off by something so cold it left smoke just having the sun''s rays on it. It was something none of the ''heroes'' had ever seen before. *Grrrrr* Everyone turned their heads towards a large wolf-like creature coming out of the forest. It had pitch black fur and cold, red eyes. It was the size of a fully grown man in height, and gave off a dangerous aura. Upon seeing it, Josh used [Identification], a skill which he had just recently learned.
Shadow Wolf Leader Variant: Blood Eyes - Level 44
Upon reading the information atop the wolf''s head, Josh grew wary. He was just a bit over level 20, sitting at 23. His part members were all close to 20 as well, but none matched him. Susan - Lv 19 Jacob - Lv 21 Kyle - Lv 18 Connor - Lv 19 The soldiers that accompanied them were all level 50 or above, but they were around as strong as one of Josh''s companions. The boost in stats really helped Josh''s group. "Everyone get ready, take a /\ formation with tank in front, mages and healer in back." (Josh) Josh yelled the command, and everyone responded without hesitation. Connor jumped in the front, and Josh and Kyle behind him alongside the soldiers. 3 of the mage soldiers and Susan went to the back. This was one of the more basic formations that Josh was taught by the Pope. Since the Pope and the Goddess Illia seemed to have taken a liking to Josh as the ''chosen one'' among the ''heroes'', he was highly regarded. The wolf howled, and from behind it 2 others appeared. They were smaller, but seemed to be companions of the wolf. Josh didn''t bother [Identifying] them since they were most likely weaker, but he did take more caution. "Watch out for attacks from the sides." (Josh) The smaller ones were more agile so they had to watch their sides, but the ''Blood Eyes'' variant worried him. He decided to not look them in the eyes. He didn''t tell his party anything since he might end up learning what happens if you do. After all, they were just tools to him. After Josh had shouted out his second order, the leading wolf roared, and its two companions darted off. They aimed for the weaker mages in the back, but the formation allowed for protection of this. The warriors closer to the mages surrounded them in protection, and when one of the wolves that was on the right tried to strike it was hit by two warriors, just barely dodging the 3rd. (Explanation: 10 total. 3 mages, 7 warriors. Wolves went to hit the mages in the back, however 2 warriors surrounded the mages each with an extra on the right side, leaving the one tank (Connor) in the front to stall the wolf leader.) The wolf that was on the left took note of the right''s error and backed off. The wolf on the right had a deep gash near its snout and shoulder, but managed to get away. Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. The wolf leader attacked Connor, but being the tank he was he was able to stall it for a bit. This, however, changed instantly when the left wolf attacked Connor from the side, biting through his armor covered leg, and when the right wolf was about to join it looked to be Connor''s end. However, Josh sprinted forward and slashed the right wolf clean in two as it had let its guard down. The other warriors ran forward, and the mages released their spells that they had been chanting. (Just added [Instant Chant] to Lorne''s Status Window since I forgot) A [Tracking Fireball] alongside a [Greater Harden] and [Greater Heal] were all casted. The offensive spell aimed at the wolf leader, and the heal aimed at Connor who had taken most of the damage, while the defense spell at the whole party. The wolf leader was hit square in the face by the tracking fireball, and whimpered a bit. The second wolf who was still alive was also killed moderately easily with the now entire group after it. All that remained was the wolf leader. Josh grabbed his sword tight and swung at its neck. He missed as the wolf leader jumped back. Josh was about to pursue before he noticed a red light glowing from the wolf''s eyes. "Don''t look at it!" Was heard from one of the kingdom''s warriors at the back just as the wolf activated its rather unusual skill. Nobody complained, and they all looked away and turned their backs towards the wolf while running forward, away from the wolf, so it didn''t get any sneak attacks in. The red light brightened quickly and flashed before disappearing, and everyone turned around again to see the wolf panting. "That''s its unique skill [Red Glare]. It takes a lot of mana to use, but it boils the blood of opponents who look into its eyes" A different soldier said. As to why they didn''t say this earlier, none of the heroes knew, but that wasn''t a concern at the current time. Everyone bolted towards the now exhausted wolf and aimed to finish it off. The offensive mage from the back used another [Tracking Fireball] while the previous mage who had used [Greater Hardening] this time used [Rock Bullet], and Susan who healed Connor used a party-wide speed buff. The two magic attacks hit the wolf, further lowering its hp before it was hit by Kyle and Jacob. It attempted to hit the two, but they both dodged and it received one hit to the front right leg, and another to the face. It was now crippled and severely damaged. Josh ran up to it as the last to arrive due to his intentions to score the finishing blow, and he stabbed it with his sword straight in the head without hesitation. *Shiing* He pulled out his sword from the wolf and received a message showing he leveled up. With that, Josh''s party continued to look for more monsters to fight and to farm all the mobs around the area. ------------- Rewinding To Alyssa Leaving the Castle Alyssa ran down the stairs and towards the barracks. She was overjoyed that Lucas was still alive. His situations wasn''t much of a concern to him, she was just happy that he was alive. She ran with all her strength back to the barracks to find her friend Jess. After painstakingly sprinting all the way there, she saw Jess who met her gaze. Confusion filled Jess''s face as Alyssa sprinted and showed no signs of stopping. Before Jess could dodge, Alyssa jumped and tackled her to the ground. "He''s alive! He''s alive!!!" (Alyssa) Jess was very confused. She hadn''t been there when the scout told his story since she was in the back of the barracks/training area they were in where you couldn''t see the streets. "Wha?.." (Jess) With an ever growing confused face, Jess could only stare blankly at the happily crying Alyssa in her arms. After some time was given for Alyssa to come back to her senses, she stopped crying and replied after a few sniffles. "A scout just came back, and even though it was terrible news, Lucas is alive somehow!" (Alyssa) "How can that be? He was thrown into the dungeon!" (Jess) There was a brief pause before Alyssa continued. "That giant pillar of darkness we saw is somehow related to him." (Alyssa) She started to look around and noticed that there were a lot of people staring at both of them. Alyssa blushed in embarrassment and Jess similarly did the same. "I''ll tell you once we sit down." (Alyssa) With that, Alyssa got up, and Jess followed her. They both went and sat down on one of the benches near the training area of the barracks that they were at. Once calmed down, Alyssa told Jess most of the story of what the scout told. Obviously not as in-depth, but the main points were brought through. Jess was distraught. Lucas was now a huge threat, and he would most likely be coming for everyone that raised their hands against him, or treated him badly. Even though Alyssa and Jess were friends, Jess had done nothing to help Lucas in the past. He had not come to particularly resent her, but it still worried her. From the story that was told by Alyssa, then something happened to Lucas. Either he became some kind of amazing demon, or he gained a demon and dragon friend. Both of those possibilities were equally as terrifying. To be able to kill all those soldiers, the dragon woman had to have been very strong. She did not even want to imagine how strong the demon/Lucas was. While Jess was fighting with herself in her mind, Alyssa spoke out. "Just calm down. I won''t let him do anything to you. You haven''t directly done anything to him so he shouldn''t feel too bad against you." (Alyssa) Jess just smiled at Alyssa, thinking things such as how kind she is, and that that kindness will hurt her in the end. "Well, what do you want to do?" (Jess) After a brief pause, Alyssa''s eyes sparkled and she replied enthusiastically: "Let''s train!" (Alyssa) Chapter 15: Guild Agreements and a Present for Morgan Mature Chapter Past Spoiler ~Lorne~ With a smile plastered on her face, the loli guild master agreed to help us. "Let''s start off with introductions. I''m Lorne, and my titles basically described why I am here as you saw." I then looked towards Morgan, she she introduced herself. "I''m Morgan, the Dragon Lord. I was previously the Boss of the Atriarc Dungeon before I decided to serve Master Lorne." (Morgan) She replied with a smile, but I simply glared at her. She didn''t make eye contact with me, but sweat formed a bit on her neck as she knew that she messed up when she called me ''Master''. After getting rid of her surprised face, the loli spoke. "Alrighty! I''m Tammy, the guild master of the Gorghen Adventurers'' Guild. One of the 3 major guilds, the demon department. If you need anything you can simply ask me. I''ll also start getting cards ready for you. However, we''ll talk about that a little later." (Tammy) With a nod, I got ready to talk with Tammy. Just as I was about to open my mouth before a girl walked into the room we were in. The doors were closed, but she simply slammed them open. "Tammy, I heard something bad happened to you, are you alright?!" (?) "Ah.. I''m fine Linzy, please leave, I''m currently busy!" (Tammy) A bit distressed, Tammy tried to get the girl out by telling her that her worries were for nothing. I was staring at the girl, and it was the same demoness that bumped into us on our way to the Adventurers'' Guild. Now that I looked at her closely, I could make out a lot more details about her. She had smooth long blue hair that went down to her shoulder blades. They parted where her horns were, and her eyes were a pure orange color. Her figure was attractive as she had a good hourglass shape. The middle wasn''t too thin though that one would think of a sickness when looking at her. Her chest was large, but not disgustingly huge like something you would see in an anime back on earth. If I had so compare them to something, I would say they were the size a bit bigger than pomegranates. I personally liked them peach sized, but they were breasts and who was I to argue? Seemingly reading what I was thinking, I got a hit on my side by Morgan. Definitely jealousy. I would have to make it up to her in... some more appealing ways than an apology. "Oh, you have guests?" (Linzy) A ditz that can''t read the mood. "Yes, now please leave!" (Tammy) With a more threatening tone, Tammy raised her voice. Linzy looked sorry for what she was about to do, and was about to leave before she looked me dead in the eyes. "Oh, it''s you!" (Linzy) It is I! "Ah, yes, you were the one who bumped into us on our way here. I hope everything is alright?" I spoke in a very gentleman like manner to her. "Ah, yes, it was just... Wait, why do you have 5 horns?..." (Linzy) Dammit. "Welllll I think it''s about time you go now Linzy. We''ll talk later." (Tammy) "But-" (Linzy) "Bye!" (Tammy) She forcefully shut the door then locked it. "Sigh" (Tammy) There was a moment of silence before Morgan spoke up. "It''s fine, I''m sure Lorne doesn''t mind." (Morgan) "Yeah, don''t worry about it. Now then, onto the things I wanted to talk about.." Seemingly forgetting everything that had just happened, Tammy responded with an ''Oh!'' before going back to her desk and taking a seat to start the conversation once more. "First: I need these horns changed to two via an illusion of some sort. They stand out way too much and I''m getting a lot of unwanted attention." I looked at her, and she nodded before speaking. "I can arrange that. There are a few potions that alchemists make that can make things disappear. I''m sure if I find the right one I can arrange the shipment of a few of those potions. It might take a few days though. If you don''t want to wait, I can just give you the location when I find them." (Tammy) Alright, now, on to the next one. "Me and Morgan just came back from the Capital. We killed the demon king since he was arrogant and unwilling to cooperate, alongside of being a terrible ruler from first glance, so the next one should be getting into position soon. We''ll be here for a few days before we go back, so we''ll need your help in shipments of goods and soldiers for the upcoming war." Her face showed fear, yet her eyes showed curiosity. "You killed the demon king? And how did I not know of this? News should have spread like wildfire!" (Tammy) "Calm down. I ran/jumped here right after we killed him." "Which was like hell" (Morgan) Tammy didn''t seem to understand the reason for Morgan''s comment, so I elaborated. "She doesn''t like heights." Seemingly understanding, she didn''t question further. "When the new demon king comes to power, me and Morgan will go visit him. If he is not to our tastes, he dies. If he suits the position then we will cooperate with him and help him win the war. Once we meet him in a few days, the war will most likely begin shortly after. I want to visit the human cities before the war for a bit, so the war will most likely start around a week and a half from now. 2 and a half weeks" As Tammy''s face paled, she asked: "You''ll help fight, right? We haven''t been able to fight the humans on equal terms so far. That''s why we have been pushed back so far north. They even have the heroes!" (Tammy) "Of course I''ll help. I just want to kill off a few bugs before the war breaks out, then I''ll finish my business when the war begins. Once the heroes are dead, you guys will crush any remaining threats. All of this requires planning. If I went and upright killed everyone then who knows what would happen to the demons upon realizing all the humans were basically slaughtered. Don''t forget that I have no issue killing demons too. I would have ended up killing most of both races, which I didn''t want. I will also be taking the highest hidden rank of sorts." Tammy seemed to be stuck. Everything I said made sense. If I had went and killed all the humans, then the demons would have been thrown into chaos. Since I have no issue killing demons either, since most would have gotten in my way they would have mostly been slaughtered. Both civilizations would have been set back many years. However, by making connections with important demon sections like the guild and even the demon king himself, the demons could get ready for the upcoming quick end of the war. They would be ready to take claims and control the new lands, as well as any other necessities. "Also, as you were talking about before with the cards?" (Morgan) This time Morgan spoke up. She would be taking the lead this time. "Ah, yes. I wanted to know what to do. I was thinking of putting you, Morgan, into SSS which was all fine. However as you may know, the ranks are F,E,D,C,B,A,S,SS, and SSS, but you don''t fit into any of those Lorne. I was thinking of creating an X-Rank for those stronger than SSS. Specifically you." (Tammy) "I think that would stand out too much though." (Morgan) I nodded in agreement. It would stand out too much. I might be held back in towns because of them thinking it''s a fake, and I would also be pestered with many questions as to how strong I am as well as duels to test that strength. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Well, yes. It comes with many issues, but it was just a thought in case you wanted something special, Lorne." (Tammy) I''d have to decline that. "It would be too troublesome. I would rather if you gave me something lower. I think A would be good. I also think Morgan should get something low as well, however since she is a dragon it can''t be helped. An SS would do." I ended my sentence with a sigh, since it would be a little annoying having her, an SS alongside me, an ''A''. People would probably pick fights when we are around each other, but whatever. It might waste time, but it could be a bit fun and let me let off steam. "Alright.. I''ll get the cards made right away. They should be done in a day or two, so come back before you leave for the capital. I should also have the location for the illusion potions too by then. Also, here is a few gold coins for some expenses you might have, like food/shelter." (Tammy) She handed over 10 gold coins in which she put into a bag, then handed to Morgan. "Alright. Thanks." I simply replied calmly, and got up. Morgan got up as well, and I was beginning to walk out before I stopped. "We''ll contact you for help when the time comes. Also, I''ll be taking a quest on my way out, so let your receptionists know." I didn''t turn around to see her face, but she had nothing to say against me. It isn''t like I was being unreasonable, and she wasn''t mad at me for being arrogant. If anything, she was thankful for me helping her and helping finally end the war with the humans in the demons'' favor. I walked out with Morgan by my side and we went downstairs. I went over to the quest board and picked up an SS Quest: Basilisk Subjugation. I started to walk out with the quest in my hands that had the location and necessary information, as well as reward and most other things. One of the receptionists was about to stop me as I heard her heels clunking towards me, but the loli simply called out to her and told her it was alright. With that, I walked out with Morgan. "We should complete that quest tomorrow. It''s getting late, so we should go to an inn." (Morgan) "Yeah. Plus, I''d like to show you my gratitude for your help, but I haven''t been able to do so yet." Morgan didn''t understand what I meant by that, but I ended up chuckling to myself as we arrived at an inn that had 5 stars next to it named: The Grotto. It was a beautiful building that looked very expensive. Made of stone bricks, and had moss on it in a way that seemed to be intended to give it a forest-like feel. I walked in with Morgan and got a lot of stares. I ignored them and the beautiful interior and went up to the counter where I rented a room for 1 gold and 50 silver, and I also paid for the food which was 50 silver, 25 each for the two of us. This 50 silver was a days worth. As to why the prices are so high, it''s because there are adventurers all around. Adventurers made a lot of money, so the prices were ''a bit'' inflated. This didn''t matter to me though since I wanted Morgan to be happy with her ''reward'' that she seemed to want but said nothing about. We ate a nice dinner. It was the best I had ever had for sure. I enjoyed every bit of it, and she seemed to as well which only improved my mood even further. We then went up to our room where we would be ''sleeping''. Morgan had thought we had two different, rooms, but I talked with the cashier and got a very nice single room for the two of us to share. That''s why it was so expensive. It would normally be half the price. I walked up to the room and Morgan followed. I stopped and motioned for her to go in first. She walked in and gazed around at the beautiful room. "Wow... This is beautiful." (Morgan) The room was a light shade of red. Not pink, but similar to roses. There was also a vase on the dresser that was against the wall. The bed was rather large. It was definitely not made to just reside in for a night or two. There was definitely a deeper meaning. There were candles that lit the room in the corners, and with no outside light it made the room look very nice. I closed the door, and Morgan turned around. She opened her mouth to say something, but then widened her eyes and closed her mouth as if realizing what was about to happen. This is my first time writing something like this, so I''m sorry if it sucks. Spoiler : She blushed a lot, but still said nothing. The only light in the room was from the candles. The soft and calming light bounced off of her pure skin. It contrasted perfectly with the mood and showed that her skin had no blemishes. Her red hair shined against the light and shimmered and she semi-turned away from me. She was very shy but was accepting it. This was a defining moment in the saying: "No means Yes". I walked up to her slowly, and slipped my hand under her chin as I lifted her face to meet mine. I got closer, and kissed her calmly, before becoming a bit rougher. Nothing over the top, but I wasn''t a sissy either. This was my first time doing this, and most likely was hers as well, and it was exhilarating. I pushed forward a bit and she backed up until we both fell on the bed with our lips interlocked. She stuck her tongue into my mouth and I did the same thing. We made out for a few minutes before I couldn''t resist anymore. I separated from her and took off my shirt. She slowly took off her bra, exposing breasts that were especially to my liking. They were rounded smoothly, and were small. In a word: Petite. I kissed her neck as she moaned, and I lowered myself until I was kissing her breasts directly. I sucked on her nipples as she drenched herself in ecstasy. Her moans grew louder and I began to move lower. I arrived at her lower stomach before her underwear stopped me. I looked up at her, only to see her smiling as she was clearly in heat. I took off her dripping underwear which revealed her vagina that was perfect. Untouched by anyone other than herself, and I was about to be the first to break that setting. I took off my pants quickly, and caressed her body. I moved in to kiss her more, and I also stuck it in. It was very tight, and there was something blocking me from fully entering. It was her hymen. "Don''t *pant* mind *pant* me *pant*. Just *pant* do it!" (Morgan) With a quick thrust, I broke it. She yapped, and a few tears ran down her face before she spoke once more with an "Amazing!". With that, I didn''t hesitate and started to thrust in and out. The bed rocked as we made love under the candlelight. It was definitely better than it would have been if it was in my world, since you could see the beautiful starry sky outside the window. There was no pollution blocking the view in this world. Our bodies heated up and we went at it fully. With our stamina I could go all night, and that we did. We changed positions after some time passed, and we did the same again. We both had our particular moments in ecstasy, however there were times when we would sync our orgasms together. The night was long that night, yet it was joyous. With our stamina, we went on the entire night until we ended up falling asleep in the morning just before the sun began to rise. Chapter 16: Style and Lazlo Hey guys, sorry for no update the past two days. I got lazy Monday, and Tuesday was Destiny weekly reset so I was on Ps4 all day. On a side note, I changed the one and a half week timeframe before the war to 2 and a half weeks. ------------------------- ~Lorne~ I did not have to sleep with the body I had, so I could have stayed awake the entire night, but sleeping was still peaceful. It was more of a luxury than a necessity. Plus, I slept besides Morgan who needed to sleep unlike me. Especially after last night. I looked around the room after having woken up, and noted that the sun had come up around an hour ago judging by the brightness. I have always been able to wake myself up when I needed to, so it was quite easy to wake up with this new and improved body of mine. I slowly sat up, while cautiously looking to my right where Morgan slept. I didn''t want to wake her, so I moved slowly. I even considered using [Hide Presence], however it was more fun with risk. And I also didn''t think it would work all too well considering I was right next to her, and even if my presence was gone she might feel the movements from the bed. After carefully getting up in a process that took a minute, I put on my clothes. I let her sleep and rest, but I wanted to explore a bit. Before I left the guild, I took a Basilisk Subjugation quest. I would go and complete it with Morgan once she woke up, but I wanted to look a bit more presentable. The clothes I had on were getting worn out. I had planned to visit a blacksmith today, and I doubt I wouldn''t find one in a town full of adventurers. I really didn''t even need protection, just fashion. My skin was better than any armor I would be able to find here. With that said, I started to head out. I looked back one last time at Morgan, then quietly closed the door, leaving her the keys while I went out. We could feel one another''s presence via the contract, so she wouldn''t lose me. There wasn''t really anything to worry about. I headed down the hall that was lined with countless other rooms, then went down the stairs. I reached the main entrance area and walked out while ignoring the stares. I would really need those illusion potions soon, it''s getting annoying. After walking out of the door, the brightness of the sun hit me. I had to squint and adjust, but it didn''t hinder me in any way. I had felt out for any presences via [Perception] since I walked out of our room. No hostility in the air, and it looks like the guys that were on our tails yesterday are gone. Looking around, the city was very pleasant looking. There was bickering over prices near a stall, happily chatting city folk, kids admiring some adventurers with shiny gear, it was nice. Without any rush, I began to walk around the city. I took a right from the guild and walked that way. I had a lot of time, so for now I would just look at things while also keeping an eye out for the blacksmith. There were a lot of restaurants on my walk. Seafood restaurants, Bilorn restaurants (I''m guessing some kind of boar), and whatever Sesqual was. Most of them tried to differ from the others. You never saw two similar restaurants within a decently sized radius of one another. Of course, they served everything, but specialities and focuses were different. Kind of like if you go to Outback for steak, and see fish on the menu. It''s mainly a steak restaurant, but it has other choices. I walked for a while, maybe an hour or so before I came across a blacksmith. I wasn''t looking for hand made gear specifically for me, just a shop to buy gear at. Anyway, without delay I walked through the door. There was a nice chime of a bell near the top of the door as I went in. Afterwards, I heard a thump near the counter, followed by a "Yowch" from a grizzly old man. The man appeared to be in his sixties, and had a large gray beard like a certain wizard, but had the figure of a certain dwarf from the same movie series that wizard was from. Rubbing his head, the old man spoke. "Ay, what can I do for you?" (Dwarf) Awesome, his voice sounds like him too. "Hello, I was just looking for some Light armor. Can you show me their location?" "Sure young man, follow me." (Dwarf) He seemingly hopped down from a stand he had been on behind the counter, and walked over towards me, then we both went across the shop to the front right corner. "This be all my light armor. Most of it is leather, a few light metals here and there. The prices are written on papers sown onto them. When you pick out the ones you like, just come back and i''ll take em off you you after you pay and ye be on your way." (Dwarf) His shop was run rather smoothly. The prices were sowed on with a few strings, so only a scissor would cut it. Or a dagger. He''d probably use a dagger. The price tags were nice instead of him giving you a price outright and then sitting there haggling over him maybe pricing it more because of you being wealthy, or whatever. The Dwarf walked back to the counter, then went to the room behind it to do whatever he had previously been doing. I looked away from him, then down at the armors. This whole section included light armors made of leathers and hides, as well as daggers and throwing knives. I didn''t need the knives of daggers since I would break them from the sheer force of my swing, and I didn''t even need it with the scythe anyway. Some of the leather works were just the armor, and some had designs made of metals. The latter was obviously more expensive, but was more presentable. Fashionably expensive. I searched through the armors, and found a chest-piece and leggings I liked. They were made of some kind of black skinned creature, and it was tough. There was also nice silver designs etched on them. The prices were 4 gold for the chest, and 3 for the legs. With that 7, I had a little over 1 gold left from what Tammy gave me. However, I would earn it back after killing the Basilisk. With that 1 gold, I found some black shoes I likes and paid 50 silver for it. I now had something close to a gold left. Satisfied, I walked over the the Dwarf and paid up. Sure enough, he pulled out a dagger and cut out the price tags. I thanked him, but before I left I asked if there was a place I could change. He told me to head near the area I was previously, and I did. I went into a small room, changed, took the quest out of my old clothes, putting them in my new, then left after thanking him once more and burning the old clothes into nothingness with [Flare]. Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. He was a nice old fellow, and I liked Dwarves. Dwarves were cool. When I exited the shop, I decided to head back. I started to walk towards the inn, but I was stopped by Morgan. It seems like she woke up and came looking for me. "Looks like I finally found you." (Morgan) She spoke rather seductively. I replied similarly. "So you have." I walked in closer and gave her a kiss, but parting lips and speaking once more. We got some astonished looks from onlookers, but we ignored them. "You look good in that outfit. I like it." (Morgan) "Thanks, I just needed something that would hold out longer. I also enjoyed the look of something new like this." "Well, whatever your reason was, you look better than you did in those old clothes." (Morgan) I brief moment of pause as I pulled out the quest and quickly read the location of the quest. "We should hurry and get to that Basilisk Subjugation place. I have the quest right here. It''s somewhere called Alcoh. Do you know of it?" She seemed to ponder a bit before her face slightly lit up and she replied. "It is south of here, closer towards the border, but still on the demon''s territory. Carriages only take a day to get there. It shouldn''t take us long." (Morgan) Upon saying that, she suddenly realized something. I realized it too, and started to smile mischievously. She then began to sweat, and pleaded. "It''s only a day..." (Morgan) "A day is too long." "But" (Morgan) "It''ll be fun. I''ll go slower." "Promise?" (Morgan) "Promise" And promise I did indeed. We set off with a cruising speed of a few notches slower than sound. Around 600mph (965km). Surprisingly, she held out this time. She didn''t faint or anything like that. I was impressed. We ''flew'' for a minute before arriving to where we needed to be. Upon landing, I let her down, and complimented her. "You held out this time. It seems like you are getting used to it." "Yeah, I was surprised too, and YOU DIDN''T SLOW DOWN" (Morgan) "No need to shout, I slowed down by like 100mph." "sigh" (Morgan) "Well, let''s head into the town and look for..." I pulled out the quest. On it had all the information we would need. It first said to go to Alcoh, then to find a Mr. Lazlo. Once you spoke with Mr. Lazlo, you would be given the location of the Basilisk to subjugate. "...Mr Lazlo." I then began to walk towards the town. Morgan was still a bit mad at me, but not nearly as much as she initially was when we first took flight. Before we walked up to the gate, I spoke out. "I''m going to sneak in by going around, you go through the front entrance. I don''t want another predicament like in Gorghen." With that, Morgan nodded and I flashed away into the trees. I watched her walk in, and she made it in pretty easily. There was a bit of shock of her being a dragon, but it wasn''t too bad. Afterwards, I used [Mass Teleportation] and teleported inside. I half expected to get a notification saying that I got [Teleportation], but I figured that [Mass Teleportation] must be a better version of it. I teleported next to Morgan, and luckily nobody saw. She was startled when I appeared though. With her hand on her chest, she yelled in whisper. "Warn me when you do that!" (Morgan) I simply smiled and patted her on the head a little, shutting her up completely. After that, we calmly walked around the town asking for a Mr. Lazlo. On our 4th person we finally got a location. He was apparently located near the middle of the town, and had a weirdly colored yellow house. I also heard he liked camping, but I ignored that since it was useless to me. Following the instructions of the man, we both ended up in front of a rather large bright yellow house. No other houses were remotely close to as obnoxious as this one was, so we figured this was it. I knocked on the door, and after a few seconds it opened. "Yes?" What presented us was an old man. He was a demon of course, but he looked like Herbert from a show I used to love. He had a singular cane instead of the one with 4 legs, but his resemblance was there. "Hello, we came from the guild for the Basilisk Subjugation." (Morgan) Upon hearing this, the old man''s eyes widened. He started to tear up and spoke with hope in his voice. "Yes! My friend Raj and my pet Rynoh, Clam, were both killed by this beast while we went camping! We were ready for low leveled monsters, but not something like a Basilisk. Please avenge them! It is east of here currently resting in a large cave. Follow the path on the eastern gate, and when you see 3 boulders leaned on another, make a right into the forest. It''s directly there! The reward is as it says in the quest!" (Lazlo) "Don''t worry Mr. Lazlo, we will be back shortly with the good news." (Morgan) "May Monalee Bless you both!" (Lazlo) She already has. With that, I started to walk away from his house, followed by Morgan. After a few steps, I heard a bit of joyful weeping, then a soft *thud* as he shut the door. I had nothing against happy moments, but for some reason, the idea of avenging the dead was annoying me. It never bothered me before, but for some reason I can''t help but ask myself in secret: "Why do you care? They are dead now." These thoughts startled me a bit, but I shook my head quickly and kept walking. "Is everything alright?" (Morgan) I was softly asked that question as we walked. I stayed silent for a few seconds, causing her to walk next to me and press herself against my arm before I replied. "Yeah..." ------------- Next Chapter will have a lot more action, so for those disappointed with the lack of it in this one, don''t worry. Side Note: Good job to anyone who got the reference that was present half the chapter. I made it very obvious, but I enjoyed incorporating it into the story. Hint: Lazlo Chapter 17: The Issue With The Quest ~Lorne~ We both exited the town and started walking to the east as Lazlo had pointed. The time we spent walking was in silence. At least between the two of us. My thought process worried me a bit. I hated humans, sure. I could kill them and enjoy it. That was fucked up, but understandable to some extent. However, being annoyed of someone being happy that their friends could be avenged? Not understanding why the person cared? I mean, they are dead now. You can''t bring them back. No amount of mourning will do anything. These kinds of thoughts were bizarre. Our walk lasted a while, and we eventually came across the rocks/boulders that we were told about. Along the way we had only seen low ranked monsters. Nothing special. F and E. A D here and there, but otherwise very calm. It was quite unbelievable that there was a Basilisk somewhere here. We went in further. I decided to activate [Perception] and help look for it. I expanded it out as far as I could, and i could feel the presence of everything within 100 meters (Changed Perception from 20m -> 100m). It was overwhelming at first, since I was in a forest, but after a few seconds I got used to it somewhat. Most of what I could feel was very small. They were the small animals that were just about everywhere. However, just at the border of my reach I felt something rather large. I took a few steps towards its direction to get a better sense, but what greeted me was what seemed to be 4 humanoids. I couldn''t tell between demons, beast-kin, and humans, so I could only tell that it was something that felt like a person. "People up ahead. Get ready if they try anything. I''ll go up, but stay behind me and out of sight." I warned Morgan in a whisper, and she nodded silently. I activated [Hide Presence] and moved forward. I didn''t have any hiding skills, but as long as I stayed out of their line of sight they wouldn''t be able to know I was there. I kept [Perception] on as well, but I lowered it to around 30 meters. I got close to them, and turned on my [Hearing] skill. "The Basilisk is somewhere over here. I can feel it''s presence. Looks like it wasn''t a joke when Sal told us there was one." (Mage) They were all humans, and the one to speak first from what I had seen was the mage of the group. He wore a rather flashy robe. It was a light blue with dark blue engravings, and it looked to have metal designs similar to my clothes. The man had a typical wizard hat as well, but instead of being an old man he was very young. Most likely mid-twenties. Next to him was a warrior, then a priest. The they both had flashy armor as well, but the warrior looked the most expensive. He seemed to be a higher level than the others. I used [Identification] on each of them. It turns out that the priest, mage, and not mentioned archer were all SS class adventurers. The warrior was an SSS and over level 400. Humans sure had to level hard to get strong. It seems as though he is accompanying them out of a mutual bond. A brief thought popped in my head. ''It would be pretty funny to see their friends get mutilated...'' I shook that thought off. The idea seemed like it was calling out to me. Asking me to do it. However, I restrained myself. It was hard, but I somehow pulled it off and didn''t rush in there. "Alright guys, it should be up ahead. Get ready. You should be able to handle it, and I''m here as backup, but you guys should be fine. Remember to finish it quickly. This is your rank up quest after all!" (Warrior) Upon hearing this, I moved over to Morgan and told her that they were going to kill the Basilisk. She seemed to understand that we didn''t want this to happen, but she wasn''t ready for what I told her next. "I''ll be going to have a quick chat with them. Stay on the sidelines in case of anything unexpected." She didn''t understand why I would do that, but I didn''t explain and began to turn off everything and walk towards them. "Something just appeared behind us!" (Mage) Upon hearing this, all the party members turned to face me. Their faces went from battle-ready to disgusted. "Ugh" (Archer) The archer was the first of the group to respond. "Listen here demon, get out of here or we''ll have trouble." (Warrior) How right he was. Trouble indeed "Yes, yes. We will be having trouble." Upon saying that, I let my tail loose and let it wave around in the air. I walked towards them, and they took a step back and got ready. The mage began chanting a spell, and the priest applied buffs. The archer readied her bow. "Don''t take another step or you''ll regret it you fucking trash!" (Warrior) Hehe~ Trash? "I don''t think I''ll regret it." After saying that, I took a step forward. I saw them all begin to fire. The priest fired some holy ball of energy, the archer an empowered arrow, the wizard some kind of ice spell, and the warrior charged. This was however all in slow motion for me. They were much too slow. How foolish they were. In the blink of an eye to them, but several seconds for me, I took out my Scythe of Death and bolted forward, cutting the stomach of the warrior open. His armor didn''t help whatsoever, and was cleanly cut through. When I cut the warrior, the spells all hit me. They did a bit of damage, but they felt more like the friction of rubbing your hands together as little patches where I was hit. The smoke began to clear, but not before a loud screaming was heard. "AAAARGHHH" (Warrior) Once his companions could see standing without so much as a scratch, and their friend incapacitated, they all felt despair. However, before their emotions could change, an immense fear hit them. A fear worse than getting stuck by truck-san in cheesy light novels. This was obviously caused by the Scythe of Death, but I didn''t feel any emotion for them. If anything, I felt joy for inflicting pain on them. In a way, it felt normal. As though this was the way I was meant to exist. As a Harbinger of Death. Someone who''s role was simply put: death. Race didn''t matter. Only the action of dying. I had unknowingly become a huge sadist, and I hadn''t known it. The girl archer pissed herself and the two guys did as well. The warrior was in so much pain that he didn''t know what to do with himself. His screaming was beginning to get annoying. "Shut up" I stared at him with cold eyes. My eyes glowed and I used [Devil''s Stare]. This might give him a heart attack, but that didn''t matter to me. He stopped screaming, and seemingly lost control of his ability to move. He was still alive, which annoyed me a tad, but that wouldn''t last long. I took my scythe, and split open his chest. I moved the armor with my hands and bent it backwards. The adventurers could not move after seeing this while coupled with the effects of the Scythe of Death. I watched as the Scythe Seemingly cut something. It was a light blue aura of some sort. I pondered for a moment what it was but then came to the conclusion that it must have been his soul.
Level Up
After seeing it, then ripping it apart, I looked at the adventurers. I could see similar blue lights near their upper chest area. It seems as though I could see souls now. A smile slowly crept up on my face, and the female died on the spot. Cause: Heart Attack. How inconvenient. I dashed up to the priest and cut him in half, cutting his soul in half as well. Now, only the mage remained. I walked up to him slowly, and tapped my scythe on the ground 3 times to scare him further. Before he had the chance to have a heart attack, his soul was gone as well...

It was very heavy, and it caused me to kneel. Upon seeing this, Morgan jumped out from the nearby forestry and came to my aid somewhat. She got close to me, but remained a certain distance away. I wasn''t sure why, but after I was able to focus on myself I understood. Around my chest area where the weight was, was a dark mass. It was similar in appearance to smoke, but it was more dense and was spiritual. I did not know what it was, but before I could do anything it seemingly dissipated into the area around. A few moments went by before I stood up. Morgan walked over to me with a very worried and concerned face that showed a bit of fear. "What... What happened to you during that fight? You went haywire.." (Morgan) I honestly didn''t know. I began the fight and I just couldn''t control myself anymore. All I wanted was death, and only after destroying their souls did I feel better. "I don''t know.." Nothing else was said. All that happened was Morgan walking over to me and hugging me. No words were exchanged since it was unnecessary. I hated humans and wanted to kill them, but enjoying it that much and feeling satisfaction from ripping apart their souls was a ''bit'' much. While we were having a moment, an uninvited guest decided to appear. The Basilisk just walked on over. It saw us, and hissed, and the first to move was Morgan surprisingly. She jumped towards the Basilisk and kicked its head. It fell over, and before it could recover she hit it with a [Dragon''s Breath]. I watched its soul dimmer and then dissipate. I had the urge to destroy/collect it, but it wasn''t too strong and I kept it down. "I think it''s time for us to head back." I walked over, pulled out my scythe and decapitated it. I then grabbed the head in my right hand after putting away the scythe. I then teleported back to the city alongside Morgan. I teleported near Lazlo''s house, and then went to his door and knocked. We received a lot of attention. Especially me being covered in blood with a giant Basilisk''s head in my hand. After a few seconds, Lazlo opened the door and his face became overjoyed. We were paid even more than what was offered, and we decided to head back to the Gorghen to have the quest put in as complete. "Let''s get it over with." (Morgan) Morgan sulked a bit since she thought we would be jumping there, but I told her otherwise. "We''ll teleport." Her eyes widened, and before she could say anything we arrived in the guild. I still had the head of the Basilisk with me, and we basically scared the living shit out of Tammy. She jumped up and screamed loudly in shock, resulting in Linzy barging in to see what happened. I lost the strength in my legs at her reaction and started laughing my ass off. My attitude definitely improved after that incident, but I knew that this was only the beginning, and there would be a lot more to come. -----------------

Just so everyone can see the current stats, etc. Chapter 18: Patience ~Lorne~ After scaring Tammy half to death we both told her that the Basilisk was dead. We said nothing about the adventurers since it was unnecessary.. We were paid a total of 150 gold, and that would last us the rest of our stay. Since things would only continue to stay like this for a few weeks, we didn''t need to save up to live calm lives. War was coming. It had been a day since Tammy told us that they would get the cards ready, and the illusions. Once I got my card, it would allow me to enter the human cities. That was my main plan. After I get the illusion potion I would go to the human cities and secretly wreck havoc. You know, just the normal things like killing ministers and kings, a hero here and there. I don''t plan to confront them for a while, so I''ll focus on degrading their government first. Just as we were about to leave the guild to go to the inn we were staying at Tammy stopped us. I didn''t know why at first, but she told me that she had asked a friend of hers and they knew the location of an alchemist that had the potions. The man was in the demon capital near the southern side. He was highly regarded and if we asked anyone we should be able to get directions because of how famous he was. I thanked her, and I set off to teleport to the city with Morgan. We disappeared in the guild room and reappeared in the capital. I teleported us in an alley, so nobody really saw us. We walked out and made our way to find a pedestrian. There didn''t appear to be anyone on the rode we arrived, so we moved up one. The man knew exactly what we were talking about, and surprisingly enough he was located on the road we teleported. We headed back and saw the sign to his shop. We walked in and I asked for the illusion potion. Morgan was looking around while I was talking to him. The man''s name was Edmond, and he supposedly had some in the back. They were 10 gold each. Very expensive. I managed to haggle down the price to 7 gold and 50 silver. I''m not the best haggler, but I managed. I walked out of the shop, and then turned into an alley with Morgan. I teleported to the guild, scaring Tammy once again, but not nearly as much as the initial time. Mostly because she knew I could do that now. I asked her how to use it, and she just said to drink it and think of what you want to hide. She also commented on how high quality the potion was. It seemed simple enough, and I drank it. I thought of removing all but 2 of my horns, and when I asked Tammy and Morgan if it worked they nodded their heads no. I was disappointed, but I didn''t let it get me down. I tried something that I should have tried in the beginning.
Skill Learned
Transformation: Change your appearance to your will. Costs 300 mp every 30 minutes. (10/10)
I secretly cursed at myself for being an idiot, then transformed. I went from a gray-skinned, red-tattood, 5 horned, tailed demon to a handsome black haired, white skinned human with grayish eyes. My height remained the same, and I loved my appearance. Not because I was a human, but because this opened up so many possibilities. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. Morgan and Tammy were surprised by this, and I simply laughed. I now would have so much more fun messing with the heroes. I stretched out my body and examined it, making sure everything was alright. I took out my Scythe of Death and looked for any changes - which there were none - then put it away. Tammy was surprised at seeing it, but Morgan just put her finger to her lips telling her to keep quiet. It seemed to work. I didn''t consider anyone here my enemy, so they didn''t feel the fear, and just in case I also had the radius as small as I could make it. After admiring myself, I asked her when the cards would be ready. She said they would be done tomorrow morning and to go see her then. This worked out. I would finish today, then come here tomorrow morning. I''d get the cards, then head to the Demon king and check out how he is. Do my thing, then go to the human kingdom as an adventurer. I''d slip in, then have some fun. I told Tammy that we would be back tomorrow, untransformed, and I teleported out with Morgan before she could say anything. I teleported us near the inn, and we walked in. We went to our room and I tested the transformation ability a bit more. I could turn into basically anything I wanted as long as I knew what it looked like. The three forms I would use would be my normal one, my human one, and a form I made that only gets rid of 3 horns and keeps the two in front. Me and Morgan laid down, had sex, and Morgan passed out from the exertion. I laid down next to her, and it was pretty late by the time we were done. I stared at the ceiling. Master... I already know what you plan to ask, Lorne... And you will understand in due time. It will be rough, but you''ll know once you reach level 100. Yes master, but... I can''t help you with this. Even gods have rules. I was very disappointed with that. ''Even gods have rules'', huh? That means that there are other gods, or stronger gods. The most interesting thing that I came across though was that I would find out when I reached level 100. I would most likely reach 100 after I kill the heroes, so in a week or two. I shouldn''t stress over it, but I am very curious as to what was going on with me. The reason for my mental change and bloodlust. Or... soul-lust... That black mass that appeared.. Everything. For now, I''ll sleep. The next day will arrive. I''ll do as I must, and we''ll see how things go. --------------------- Sorry for the short chapter. I basically wanted to get this part over with quickly since there wasn''t much I could talk about, but expect the normal length for the next many chapters. Chapter 19: Demon Country Ready, Check ~Lorne~ Nothing special happened in the morning when I woke up. I just lazed around and ate breakfast with Morgan. After making ourselves comfortable, we got ready and teleported to the guild. Tammy jumped when we arrived, but that was to be expected. Unfortunately it wasn''t too funny anymore. "I need to get used to you guys doing that..." (Tammy) She quietly mumbled to herself before continuing. "...Anyway, I have your cards here." (Tammy) After saying so, she handed both of us our cards. It held our names, rank, guild allocation, level, and a few other things that didn''t matter much. I was concerned about the level, but upon further inspection it was changed to level 56. (Morgan is now SSS. Complications in rankings happened.) "Lorne, are you sure you want to be an A adventurer? I mean, you could totally pull off as an SS or SSS with the new transformation. Honestly, the only reason I am saying this now is because of the transformation." (Tammy) She definitely had a point.. I mean, I didn''t want to get too well known because the Humans had my description. They would almost instantly be able to know where I was. If I could change into a human, then there should be little trouble. Besides, as a Human SSS I could get close to the heroes. "Is there a way to change it?" "Of course, it just takes time for the cards to be made. The information can update instantly." (Tammy) I thought for a few seconds before nodding. "Change my rank to SSS and raise everything respectively. Also, make my name Ben." She nodded and took the card back, then came back a minute later handing it back to me. "Put a drop of blood on it and it will bind to you." (Tammy) Me and Morgan both did this. The card glowed and changed color. It went from a blank white to a black with golden writing on it. The font was a beautiful cursive, and it was moderately easy to read. After examining the slate, Tammy spoke up. "Since it''s bound, just think [Appear] or [Disappear] in your mind, and think of the card." (Tammy) Sure enough, as me and Morgan tried this out it seemed to work. It would disappear, and when it reappeared it came back as a physical object. Something I could give to others. "Thanks Tammy. I think me and Lorne should go to the capital right about now and check on the Demon King." (Morgan) Tammy smiled and waved as both me and Morgan teleported away. We wound up somewhere familiar. It was the castle''s throne room. It was the same large and decorated room as before. It looks like it was also cleaned up from the fight me and the last demon king had. *Shink* I turned to look, and there were several soldiers pointing their spears at me with surprised faces. The man who sat on the throne was also surprised. He seemed to have been previously talking with the men in front of him. I was about to speak up, but I noticed that the soldiers began to shake. Their spears went up and down in more and more irregular positions. All of the ''warriors'' backed up to get as much distance away from me as possible. Seeing that this wasn''t going to go well if this kept up, I spoke. "Hello Demon King. My name is Lorne. Currently, me and the guild master of Gorghen have gotten together to take down the humans, however we need a third party. Specifically, you." I smiled quite maliciously and heard the saliva jumping down the throats of the several guards. The demon king seemed to be confused and uncomfortable. "Well, hello. Uh.. I am Abaddon, the current Demon King. It''s a pleasure to meet you Lorne, and...?" (Abaddon) "Morgan" "Morgan! Well, should we go and discuss the situation?" (Abaddon) The current demon king honestly seemed suitable as a leader. I was going to announce that I wouldn''t kill the guy if he was to my liking to calm the guards down somewhat, but that would have made the demon king aware and he would have behaved better than if he were ignorant on the matter. "If you may." I gestured for him to show us the way, and he got off his throne and we began to walk behind to a conference room of sorts. He stopped by the door and had us go in first, then followed by shutting the door. "So, would you two mind explaining everything to me?" (Abaddon) I smiled, impressed by his personality and began to speak. "To put it simply, I am one of the ''Heroes''." He was about to get into a battle pose, but I interrupted him. "However... some events happened and I turned to resent the humans. Monalee had reincarnated me of sorts and bestowed a newfound power unto me. I grew stronger, and more complicated things happened. This involves slowly hating life, but that is not important for now." Abaddon was sitting at this point, and as were Morgan and I. Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. "I have already gotten together with Tammy, the guild master of the Gorghen Adventurers'' Guild, and she is on board. She is willing to provide battle support, however the main force needed is your army. I could have gone in there and killed them all, but not only is that not fun, but Monalee tasked me with having you guys take control. I can only imagine doing so somewhat peacefully. If I killed all the humans, you guys would have fell into panic and rushed to the human lands, slaughtering each other over wealth." There were a few moments of silence. He was definitely agreeing with my actions, knowing full well how chaotic it would have been if a whole country just outright disappeared. "So, I am here to get you to join us. What do you say?" A few more moments of silence before he spoke up. "As much as I wish to end the humans'' rule, others have tried before, gathering the whole country together. I doubt that even if I joined we would be able to do much to the humans. Especially now that they have the heroes summoned. It''s only a matter of time before we lose." (Abaddon) With a sullen expression, he voiced his thoughts. It made total sense, but he didn''t know about me. "I think you are forgetting something. When I said that I could kill all the humans alone, I meant it." His eyes widened at this. "Who do you think killed the last demon lord? Mwahahaha!" I began laughing what I believed to be an evil laugh and Abaddon''s face darkened. "Don''t worry though, I like you. As long as you cooperate we won''t have trouble. So, what do you say?" "Do I have a choice?" (Abaddon) "Nope." "..." (Abaddon) "..." "Ok." (Abaddon) "Great!" With that, we got up and shook hands. I told him how things should be going. Everything would have to be gotten ready smoothly and quietly. Position most of the troops to the front at first, and they won''t suspect too much. This, however, is getting them ready to leave through the gates and head to war. We also talked and discussed how the war would go, giving each other battle strategies. I mostly told him of strategies from Earth, and judging by his reaction it seems that they weren''t invented yet. Once the time is right, I would come back to Abaddon and tell him to start the war. He would publicly announce it, and his soldiers would move forward. This, however, shouldn''t happen for a while. We said goodbye, and I was kinda disappointed I didn''t get to kill the guy for some reason, but I was glad that I didn''t waste my time. I teleported back to the guild and told Tammy that things were running smoothly. I explained some things to her, and that she would have to get ready as well. With that, I was pretty much done in demon country. I had gotten the guild and the king to work together, and I would lead everyone to victory. Now I would just need to go to the Human country and mess around. Hopefully I''d be able to join a group of theirs and win their trust. Me and Morgan both teleported back to the inn and we walked in, going upstairs, and I spoke. "Tomorrow we will be going back to the human country. We really only needed to do a few things here, but we''ll be with the heroes for a while. It''ll take long because we''ll have to earn their trust. We''ll also have to travel normally, and since I''ll be in human for I''ll be fine. You, however, will need a change." She looked at me confused, and I simply put my hand up and imagined using [Transformation] on her.
Skill Upgraded
Transformation > Transmutation: Alter the appearance and properties of anything this skill is used on. Applies to: Material and Organisms. Mp used depends on the change. (10/10)
Morgan began to glow white, seemingly disappearing in the light and then it calmed down. She went from a demon to a human. Her appearance was with a red-ish orange hair, with orange eyes. Pink lips and a moderate figure. Nothing too rounded, but definitely feminine. Her hair reached down her back to the middle of it. Long, but not ridiculous. She looked at herself and was surprised. She spun a bit and admired herself at all angles, and I appraised her as well. I talked to her a bit more about what we would be doing tomorrow, and how we would need to be humans for a while while we won the heroes'' trust, but she seemed to accept everything easily. We went to bed and awaited the next day in which we would leave demon country and get the attention of the heroes. Possibly ''accidentally''. ------------- Open to suggestions for a better name than ''Transmutation''. It works, but there might be something better. Chapter 20: Confrontation ~3rd Person~ Daybreak arrived, and Lorne had awoken. He stretched himself and got dressed in his clothes he had bought from the blacksmith. He finished rather quickly, and it helped that Morgan awoke while he was getting dressed. It only meant that they would be leaving earlier, which was what they needed to do. Morgan put on her clothes, and when the both of them were ready they headed out. Lorne had told the inn clerk that they were leaving and then they left. They walked out of the town rather easily using their guild cards and they were let through with bows. Once the two were far away enough, Lorne spoke. "It''s time for us to change into humans for a while. You ready?" (Lorne) "Yeah, let''s get this over with." (Morgan) After Morgan''s semi-nonchalant reply, Lorne used [Transmutation] on the both of them, and they turned into humans. After some stretching to get used to their forms they stood still, and Lorne used [Mass Teleportation] to teleport as far as he could see in the direction of human territory. He teleported 3 times, then resorted to picking up Morgan and jumping since it would be easier. Slower, but easier. They flew through the wind for a while and time passed by. They saw some towns, but ignored them since they were looking for cities. They eventually saw a city and their interest was drawn to it. Lorne stopped moderately far away, and told Morgan to wait so he could scout ahead. He activated [Hide Presence] and dashed forward. He confirmed that they were all humans, then teleported back before being seen. "It''s a human city. This isn''t the capital, but we should find it eventually. For now, let''s make a pit-stop and eat breakfast." (Lorne) Lorne received a nod from Morgan, and they both walked towards the gates. Both people were above average in looks, so they received eyes from the guards. The minority - females - stared at Lorne, while the majority - males - stared at Morgan. Both walked up to the gate and the guard began to speak. "ID please." (Guard) "Here you are." (Lorne) With a smile on his face, Lorne brought up his guild card, and Morgan did the same. The guard''s eyes widened, almost popping out of their sockets before bowing and apologizing. "I''m sorry, please, pass. I am sorry for keeping you!" (Guard) This scene obtained some stared from cityfolk and guards alike, but this didn''t bother Lorne too much. Mostly because he was used to stares all too much. "Don''t worry. Now then, we''ll be on our way." (Lorne) With that said, the both of them continued their walk into the city. They admired the scenery, but mostly were on the lookout for any restaurants that they could get breakfast at. Lorne had heard that guild cards are somewhat like credit cards since they can store money from Tammy, so he had all his money in his card. On him was only his gear. No weapons or anything of that sort. After all, he can''t just walk around with a fear-inducing scythe everywhere. Their walk lasted a few minutes before they found a restaurant to go in. Both detoured in and began ordering. ----------------------- The training on the Heroes'' side had been going well. Josh''s team had kept killing the monsters near the Atriarc Dungeon, and his team had leveled up significantly for their 2 days of work. Josh - 34 Connor - 32 Jason - 32 Susan - 29 Kyle - 28 They had been killing higher level monsters, but the fact that the experience was distributed between the entire group lowered the production. They had only gone up some 10 levels. All of their stats were around 400-550. At least their main stats were. A warrior''s strength for instance. The team had left the capital and moved on without guards, consisting of only 5 members. They would have liked to have had 7, but the soldiers that had previously accompanied them were just about useless. The team was currently looking for any SS+ ranked people to join their group. Josh had planned to pay them initially, then stop paying once they obtain the glory of doing things with heroes. They wouldn''t have a right to complain after being showered in gifts. So, the group of 5 went up north. They passed a town but were heading upwards to get to the main outside city besides the capital called Zycon. It housed one of the 3 major Adventurers'' Guilds. Of course it was the human side''s. The 3 were the Human Guild, Demon Guild, and Omni-Guild in which contained both demons and humans and was located at the border. The city was half and half in the two territories. Their trip took a day with the birds they used to travel. They were impressed with the speed of the animals. They were equal to cars. It truly was a fantasy world. Upon arriving at Zycon, they were immediately recognized and welcomed in. The people crowded the streets to see the heroes and the crowd similar to a parade was formed. The 5 of them entered the guild, obtained their cards which ranked them S and SS ranked adventurers. They deposited their money into their cards and walked out, only to once again be greeted by the people lining the streets. Josh had felt like he was truly in heaven. Any human woman would sleep with him, and if he picked out one he liked the best, walked up to them, and tried to get in bed with them not one of them would say no. In fact, since he was a hero they would be honored to. As he had those thoughts, he browsed the crowds as his eyes caught a bright color that surprisingly faced away from him. ---------------------- Lorne and Morgan had both exited the restaurant after leaving a rather large tip for their services. Not because they were generous, but just because they didn''t have anything smaller than gold coins at the current moment. So, instead of paying a few silver for the meal, he ended up giving 100 silver. This didn''t really matter to Lorne, but money was still money. He exited the restaurant only to be greeted by a wall of people. He couldn''t even see who they were looking at. He shrugged it off as some big-shot adventurer and moved on. Followed by Morgan, they continued to the south side of the city. They only managed so many steps before they heard the crowd getting louder and the stomping of what sounded like chicken feet. Morgan turned around, and nudged Lorne''s shoulder getting his attention. His eyes went from an annoyed state to one filled with absolute rage. The urge to rip them apart and devour their souls was enormous, but Lorne shook his head and regained his composure to some extent. He then turned his head to look at those in front of him. They consisted of Josh, Connor, Jason, Kyle, and Susan. Susan seemed to have some nice priest-looking robes, most likely given to her by the pope, and the rest adorned flashy heavy armor. The one with the most armor was Connor, who had an extra large bird and a hammer as a weapon. He was also the largest, so most likely the tank. Josh, Kyle, and Jason all had moderately weighed armors that were also obnoxiously shiny. They were the damage dealers of the group from the looks. Josh had a sword and shield, and the other two had longswords. Then, Lorne heard their voices speak up as the crowd died down. "Hello lady. Would you mind accompanying us? You seem like a capable woman and we would love to have another team member." (Josh) Morgan''s face turned to one of surprise. She didn''t seem to have expected that. It was about to turn into one of disgust before Lorne spoke up. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. "Ah, hello. You must be the heroes everyone has been talking about, correct?" (Lorne) Josh''s attention was now drawn to Lorne, and this time Connor spoke up. "Yes. And you are?" (Connor) "How rude of me! My name is Ben. This lady next to me is named Morgan." (Lorne) Lorne at this point had put on his best gentleman-like speaking manner and suppressed his killing intent as much as possible. After all, his current objective was becoming part of Josh''s team. Josh looked at Lorne, then back at Morgan. "So, how about it, do you want to join us?" (Josh) He seemed very confident, thinking that there would really be no reason that she would refuse, however he would have never expected what he heard next. "L- Ben had been traveling with me for a long time. I won''t just leave him. If you win against him, I''ll go with you alone. However, if you lose then he accompanies me with you." (Morgan) Everyone was shocked at hearing this. Josh''s team for seeing the confidence in her eyes, and the fact that they would get seven if they somehow lost. Either way, they would get another member. Lorne since he had not expected Morgan to say something like that whatsoever. Even the pedestrians were shocked since they would have thought Morgan wouldn''t have hesitated to say yes. After a brief pause, Josh smiled and accepted. Upon his acceptance he said to follow him to a more clear area to fight. Josh''s party moved with Lorne and Morgan following. The growing crowd also followed to see the fight. The went to a park that was in the city where Josh and Lorne branched off to face one another alone. "How do you want to fight? Bare handed or with weapons?" (Josh) "Just use your sword. I''ll use my fists." (Lorne) "Quite confident, aren''t you?" (Josh) Lorne had to hide his abilities for this fight, and limit himself to being an SSS ranked adventurer. Based on the one guy he fought previously, he was shit out of luck since he one-shotted him. He just decided to always act one step ahead of Josh. He couldn''t get carried away either. Josh would lead him to the others. Then the fun would begin. "Well, you''ll see." (Lorne) Morgan walked up to them, staying a good distance away, but still the closest to the two of them. "On my mark." (Morgan) Josh tensed up, and Lorne calmed himself. "3" Josh gripped his sword and took a stance. Lorne stood slouched, which confused Josh but didn''t seem threatening so he ignored it. "2" Josh tensed his legs and got ready to sprint off. "1" ''Here we go... Calm down Lorne...'' Lorne thought to himself. "GO!" Josh dashed off towards Lorne, and the crowd watched with excitement on their faces. They would get to see their hero fight. Josh was after all the most renowned hero out of them all for his stats and the king''s favoritism. Josh grew very confident as he drew nearer to the unmoving Lorne, but just as he was about to step within 2 meters, a terrifying chill ran up his spine. He felt as if death itself had lightly run its finger down his spine. He stopped in his tracks and stared at Lorne. Lorne on the other hand was swearing at himself for letting out that drop of his soul-lust as he now calls it. He had no idea why he had this, but it was both convenient and inconvenient. The latter was the worst. A positive was that it sent fear into his opponents, but the con was that it sent fear into his opponents. There was a standoff between the two, and Connor and the group only grew confused as to why Josh had stopped. Morgan on the other hand was very anxious. She knew that if things went wrong then all the plans would be ruined. When she suggested the fight, it was because that was the only thing she thought of at the time. She trusted the will of her master to hold out in killing everyone. Trust was still trust, not a guarantee. Josh was slowly regaining his composure, and Lorne sensing this took an opportunity. "Something got your tongue?" (Lorne) With a taunt and slight laugh, not mocking, just a taunt as if saying ''snap out of it'', Josh regained his composure. He took several steps back and restarted his charge. This time, Lorne was calmer and wouldn''t let any soul-lust leak out. The crowd once again anxiously watched as Josh was within 1 meter this time. He had swung his sword at the two meters, and everyone thought that the foolish man that challenged the Hero was done for, however that was merely foolish thinking. From what Josh saw, Lorne was standing there. He wasn''t moving, and his sword was drawing closer, however the next moment was very surprising. His speed suddenly increased to more than double of his own and he easily dodged the sword, punching him in the ribcage and sending him flying across the field. Everyone had only seen that one moment Josh was about to finish him, and then he was sent flying by the now repositioned Lorne, or Ben. Josh''s team was astonished at this, and a tinge of fear was implemented into their very beings after seeing Josh get ragdolled so easily. Josh skid across the ground and after regaining his breath, stood up a bit slanted. "What the hell...?" (Josh) It wasn''t loud enough for all to hear, more like only meant for self reassurance, but Lorne heard it with his heightened hearing. Just as Josh was regaining himself, Lorne took the initiative this time. Dashing very fast, barely giving Josh time to block he hit his shield. Lorne didn''t want to severely damage Josh, and it was very hard to hold back to this extent. He was getting better at it though. Lorne hit Josh''s shield this time, but he used a bit less strength and speed. He only sent him back a few meters this time, and Josh landed on his feet. Josh shook himself out of it and charged. Lorne did the same, and as Josh swung he put up his shield to defend from frontal attacks, but this was at the cost to his vision. A rookie mistake. Lorne darted to the side and once again his Josh in the ribs at the same spot. He was sent flying several meters and hit the floor this time. He didn''t get up right away, and Lorne darted to his location, bringing a fist to Josh''s face as he was just about helpless to defend on the ground, and just before Lorne''s soul-lust gushed out: "STOP. THE WINNER IS: BEN" (Morgan) Upon hearing this, the whole crowd broke out into a commotion. Josh also had a look of relief on his face. Lorne wanted to kill him, but took this chance as a perfect opportunity. He had overdone it, but it worked out in the end. He bent down and stretched his hand out to Josh, and Josh only looked at it for a few seconds before grabbing it. Upon lifting Josh up, Lorne spoke. "Hey. The name''s Ben. An SSS rank adventurer." (Lorne) Upon hearing this, Josh grinned. He believed that he had gained a good underling, as well as a beautiful woman. --------------------------- Feel free to let me know of any spelling/grammar mistakes. I didn''t reread this so there is probably a few errors. PS: There will probably be a lot of 3rd person chapters. It''s just much more convenient since you can see multiple viewpoints at once with the heroes and Lorne with Morgan. Chapter 21: Boom ~3rd Person~ Lorne lifted up Josh, and Josh brushed himself off. The Hero party all ran up to Josh to see how he was doing, and Susan had the most concerned face. The heroes surrounded him, and Josh spoke. "I''m fine, I''m fine. A bit sore, but I''m good." (Josh) He spoke in a tone that said "I only got a few scratches" mostly because he was surrounded by a huge crowd, and he had Morgan walking towards his direction. In reality he was injured to a moderate extent. He had a broken rib and was struggling to put up with it. The broken rib was from the second time he was hit in the same spot by Lorne. Once Morgan got close enough, he continued. "We''ll be going off to an inn, you should join us if you''ll be part of our group from now on." (Josh) "I agree. We should get to know each other better, and you should teach us some of those moves, Ben!" (Kyle) "Agreed" (Jason) The heroes conversed and ignored the huge crowd surrounding them. "Alright, alright. I think we should go now. Susan, do you mind healing me and Ben for any scratches we might have gotten?" (Josh) Susan''s face lit up as she said "Sure". She casted a quick heal on both of them. Josh breathed out in relief, but Lorne was confused since he felt a burning sensation. It was very weak, but it was there. The heroes got on their birds while Lorne and Morgan got on with them. Lorne sat behind Susan, and Morgan sat behind Josh. They didn''t want to argue so they just went with it. Morgan was disgusted, but Lorne had it harder having to sit behind one of the bitchiest girls in his school. Morgan had no personal affiliation with Josh. The crowd cheered at the heroes once more, and they departed to the highest class inn in the city. They left their birds at a nearby stable and walked into the inn. They got 3 rooms in total. 2 for the guys, and 1 for the girls. They all went to their rooms to unpack their things. Connor and Kyle had one room, Josh, Jason, and Lorne had one, and the girls shared the other. Connor and Kyle both dropped off their things then went into the room with the other 3 men to talk. "Wow Ben, you sure did work on Josh. You think you could teach us a few things?" (Jason) Lorne simply smiled and replied. "Well, it''s just experience. I didn''t do anything flashy during that fight. You all came here very recently so you aren''t as strong as an SSS adventurer. I''d say that you guys could go for S and SS adventurers. For people who just arrived to go up in ranks that quickly is a miracle." (Lorne) The heroes laughed a bit while scratching their heads embarrassed. In truth, Lorne really had no idea how strong an SSS adventurer was, but since they were the top he guessed that there could be no limit to their power. An example would him being an SSS adventurer. He could destroy a kingdom easily by himself, but could the same be said for the other SSS rank adventurers? Lorne didn''t want to sit here and speak with them for the whole time they would be together, but he would have to put up with it to an extent. So, he asked them a question. "You guys came out to this city, but what happened to the other heroes? Weren''t there a bunch of you?" (Lorne) "They stayed behind to train more. We''ve all been working really hard lately." (Connor) Connor spoke, and then he was hit in his back by Jason. Connor could be said to be the dumb one of the group. They were all below average, but Connor was just idiotic. So, after letting that slip, Lorne urged on. "Oh? Did something happen?" (Lorne) "No, don''t worry about it we ha-" (Josh) "Well, he''s going to be in our team, and the whole world is gonna know about it so shouldn''t we tell him?" (Kyle) Kyle cut Josh off, and Josh only stared at the ground while thinking. He was definitely thinking of whether or not to tell Lorne (Ben) of the threat they received from their past ''comrade''. He glanced up to look at Lorne, and Lorne only held an interested gaze. Letting out a sigh, Josh spoke. "Alright.. Well, we lost one of our comrades after he went mad. He was always suspicious, but when he didn''t get a blessing from the Holy goddess Illia, he laughed like a madman. We were all scared and the King had him killed off by throwing him in the Atriarc Dungeon. You know what happened to it, right?" (Josh) Lorne almost vomited blood at his explanation. Rage filled his very being, but he just took a few breaths in and out silently and shook his head yes, not risking his voice yelling from the pressure he was undergoing. "Well, the cause of the destruction of the dungeon is linked to the guy. His name was Lucas, but he changed it to Lorne for some reason. He also got a powerful ally. She was a dragon-kin. They are said to be very strong, but this one was extremely so. She killed hundreds of holy soldiers. There was also a demon there, but there is debate on whether that demon was linked to the dragon, Luc- Lorne, or that demon was him." (Josh) Lorne had calmed down to an extent at this point. He expected lies to come out of his mouth, so he was prepared for it to some extent. "If he didn''t get a blessing from Illia, then how could he have survived being thrown into the Atriarc Dungeon, much less have it destroyed and threat you all?" (Lorne) "Well, that is.." (Josh) "To be honest, we don''t know." (?) A voice came from behind, and everyone looked that way. There stood Susan with Morgan right next to her. "You don''t know?" (Lorne) "We didn''t get any other information than what you were told, and the threat that told us to train." (Susan) Lorne was happy that this put them all into a state of panic, causing them all to train. It would be all the better to watch as their hopes die as their training was for naught. Thus, he put on a concerned face and spoke again. "Hmm, well, I can help you guys fight him, but you all wouldn''t be able to learn any of my skills." (Lorne) All of the heroes'' eyes perked up as they stared. Lorne knew what they were all about to say, so he said it for them. "Why? Well, you see... I''m a mage." (Lorne) At these words, everyone stopped functioning except for Morgan and Lorne. Josh had such a hard time in a melee fight against a mage. A mage. That must have meant that he scored one of the strongest supports for himself possible. It entirely explained why Lorne didn''t have any weapons and chose to fight with his fists. Josh then laughed a bit as he found it wondrous as to how everything was just being built around him and everyone was coming for him. He was gaining beautiful ladies, and amazing partners to do his bidding as he stood at the top. He pushed aside those thoughts and a smile was plastered across his face. "To think I struggled against a mage. I sure have a lot to learn." (Josh) It was true that Lorne was a mage to some extent. It would be better to say a Magical Melee Fighter, but Mage was close enough. After all, he was able to create magic with his mind just by thinking of what he wanted. He didn''t know why this occurred, but he knew it was because of Monalee. There was much for him to learn, and Lorne would find out everything soon enough, but for now he only had his thoughts for company. "Well, why don''t we go out and kill some monsters to work on our teamwork. Now that we have 7, we have a better formation. I can only assume that Morgan is a warrior if you''re the mage?" (Josh) Josh glanced to Lorne, in which he shook his head indicating a ''Yes''. After nodding his head, Josh continued. "It is still mid-day so we have a decent amount of time. Let''s hop on our birds and head off to the east side of the city." (Josh) After that was said, they all got ready. Everyone hopped on the birds and rode off through the town. They received cheers and applause as they passed through, but they made it through the city relatively easy. Once they were out of the city, they headed down the rode and continued until they entered a large forest. Josh had heard that this city had a large forest filled with high leveled monsters in it, so if he went in there he could level up. Even if he had two more people, their speed increased. It might outweigh the cons. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. Once inside the forest, they traversed further and further until they heard the rustling of trees. Lorne had heard these creatures coming from a long time ago, but that was only thanks to his hearing. "We''re surrounded, get in a circular formation back to back!" (Josh) Josh screamed out as he seemed to be a bit panicked by this situation. Being surrounded by an unknown predator was never a good thing. Lorne on the other hand was calm since he could perfectly see what they were. They were just little cute, rabies-infected baboons jumping on the branches. Who wouldn''t want to hug them? Taking this chance, Lorne thought about the gravity around him being multiplied. He wanted to expand his arsenal of spells and this was a good chance. A few seconds went by before everything Lorne deemed aggressive had more or less splattered across the ground.
New Skill
Gravitational Amplification: Depending on the amount of mp the user uses, the ground''s gravity is multiplied to that extent. Range increases with amount of mp used as well. (10/10)
Everyone was boggled. This included Morgan as well since she did not know what Lorne had done. She knew the cause was Lorne, but she did not know what he did. The reason everyone was confused was because more than half the party leveled-up (Lorne and Morgan excluded), and the sounds disappeared. They were also coupled with a scrunching and thud the instant they disappeared. While the hero''s party stood there still cautious, Lorne began to walk away and called out. "Let''s go." (Lorne) He didn''t explain anything, but they followed him without a word. He didn''t enjoy talking to them, much less giving away his skills to them. Why would he take his time to explain something to those scumbags who didn''t even explain why they beat him every day? Upon getting riled up, a very light black mist started to form near his chest and he punched himself in the chest to regain his composure. Susan in the back asked if everything was alright, but he just coughed once and said "I''m fine.". Morgan knew something had occurred, but let it pass once she saw that Lorne was doing fine. She also took note that Josh was trying to approach her. She had already figured out why, and it disgusted her. She, however, had to put up with it since she knew that Lorne was going through much worse. She kept getting closer to Lorne as Josh slowly approached, and Josh only thought "She''s playing hard to get, huh?" since he was mostly still in the illusion that everything revolved around him. Throughout the rest of that day, Josh continued to attempt to get closer to Morgan only to be stopped when a monster attacked, or sometimes when huge packs attacked. Lorne decided not to use [Gravitational Amplification] since he didn''t want to give away his secrets too much. They started to head back once they saw the sun setting, and they came across even more monsters on their way back. The most dangerous monster they encountered was a group of 4 Wyverns. It seemed like there were 3 females and 1 male since every time a female was killed the male got stronger for some reason. Too bad this isn''t a story about a Wyvern hero summoning and his little harem. AHEM... back on track. By the time that they exited the forest the moon had already risen moderately high. If one were to guess by the moon''s location, you might say it would be around 11pm. Maybe 12am. The group sighed in relief and they headed back. They tied up their birds and went to their rooms. Everyone slept. Well, almost everyone. Morgan and Lorne had stayed up and sat outside on a bench overlooking the empty streets and the clear sky. Lorne still marveled at how beautiful the sky was, that it wasn''t covered in a cloud of smoke that blotted everything out. Back on Earth, you couldn''t see anything in the cities. The light from everything blocked out the starlight, and sometimes there was smog. However, this was just bliss. Morgan and Lorne both sat and just stared up at the sky. Lorne held his chest where the mist kept coming from, as he thought about what was to be in store for him. Little did he know that his journey was just beginning. He would go on to be something feared across space-time, but for now he was simply a very powerful being by this world''s standards. As he gazed up at the sky, looking at the dust of the galaxy he was transported in, the blueish hue that painted those gases and the bright stars that painted the sky in pictures, he heard steps coming from upstairs. His attention was half turned to the noise being made upstairs. Having amazing hearing truly worked wonders as it could paint out pictures with just sounds. What he heard saw was someone get up from their bed. The person was someone in his room. He looked around, and then walked out of the room. He seemed to have not seen that Lorne was missing since his covers were messed up. The man walked out of the room, and quietly went to the door of the girls'' room. Only Susan was in there since Morgan was out here so he wasn''t worried. If anything, he was interested. He watched as the man casted some sort of magic and went from his crouched position to a slightly standing posture. He could not ''see'' the magic since it had no material body, however he saw as the man walked downstairs. There was only a single worker that was awake at this point. It was mainly just a lookout job to make sure nothing goes wrong in the night. The man walked down the stairs, and once he got close enough Lorne got up and whispered in Morgan''s ears. "Stay here.. One of the heroes is coming." (Lorne) After saying that, he casted [Hide Presence] and jumped to the top of the building. Nobody would be able to feel him there, and there would be a lot of difficulty seeing him, but with Lorne''s enhanced vision and hearing he would be able to perfectly hear the conversation that would begin. The person waved to the waiter and the waiter bowed, which was slightly expected. The man then walked out, and it was revealed that it was Josh. Lorne''s suspicions were then confirmed. Josh had waited for everyone to sleep to check things out. He wanted alone time with Morgan, and would most likely have made some sort of noise to draw her attention outside if she were sleeping. How he was planning to get her attention, and only hers, he really had no clue. ''Maybe a type of magic?'' he thought. Josh then walked outside and stood next to the bench Morgan was sitting on. --------------------------- ~Lorne~ "Beautiful night, huh?" (Josh) I continued to watch. He was definitely trying to pick her up, but I wanted to see it all unfold. Maybe it would end in a hilarious manner. I would love a good laugh, but I also would rather not be seen at the top of a building watching all this unfold by said douchebag. "Mmm" (Morgan) Morgan simply replied. She obviously had no interest in him. Not only was it the fact that he was a human and she was a beast-kin, but also the fact that she already had me. "In my world, we rarely got to see the stars. I''ve seen pictures, but never the real thing. Albeit that this is a different world or maybe even universe altogether, so the sky is a bit different from the pictures I''ve seen." (Josh) Josh spoke as he slowly walked towards Morgan and sat down. I saw Morgan want to leave, but I sent her a glare that put her into submission as she gazed up at me. Josh had no clue she was looking at me, and merely thought she was looking at the sky. "How about you? One such as yourself must adore the beauties in life." (Josh) "I do, but they are much different than what you may consider beautiful." (Morgan) I chuckled a bit to myself as I clearly understood her intentions. She was obviously talking about the slaughtering of humanity. However, Josh did not know this and simply passed it as being hard to get once again. "The king had given me a lot of things. He''s helped me a lot, and when I reach level 40 he plans to give me something that will boost my level, or so I''ve heard. I could easily give you what you might want. Mr Smoothtalker inched his way towards Morgan as he was setting up his trap. First he would lull them with beauties, then open the trap and tell them of all the goods he could give them. Once they fell for it, that was their demise. They would forever become a toy to him. Josh was very close to Morgan as she was looking directly at him. He was going to go for a kiss to seal the deal, and both Morgan and I knew it. However, before he could do it she stood up. "I don''t need riches or the like. I like strong men who care for me. Not lull me with petty promises of material objects." (Morgan) FUCKING BOOM. The cannon exploded on his discombobulated skull. He sat there like a jackass just staring at her, not believing what he was doing, and she glared at him with cold eyes. She then walked away and went back to her room, closing the door and went to sleep. The dumb fuck just sat there not believing that he was just outright rejected, and I had to teleport away to not be heard laughing like a lunatic. Maybe this whole ''Staying with the Heroes'' thing to get them all clumped together wouldn''t be so bad after all. ----------------------- Sorry for the no update, but I got sick. Also, don''t expect one tomorrow because of Memorial Day. I''ll try and work on it a bit for a release on Tuesday, and you all should get one by then. Chapter 22: Arrival at Zycon and A Reoccurance Story ended up coming out a lot later than expected. This is mainly due to the fact that school was ending for me and I was running out of overall time in my days to do things. I''m not going to rant about how I needed so much time to study, because I didn''t. I just plain never got around to doing anything with the story because I had my mind on lots of other things. ~3rd Person~ The sun rose on the next day, and the heroes woke up. Lorne had snuck back into the building while Josh sat outside most of the night contemplating on what he could have possibly said that could have led to his comedic downfall. Everyone woke up easily and ate a grand breakfast. After all, this was an expensive inn, and they were heroes so of course they were given top class food for free. Nobody had any complaints, and the inn would most likely get even more people to go to it with the fact that the heroes chose to stay at it. All but Josh were merry and laughing while they ate. Josh was off to the side still thinking what he could have done wrong. You see, Josh was in the delusion that he was the true hero that all would bow down to. There was much confusion in his mind, but there was also anger. Anger that seemed to curse Morgan for not accepting his flirting, and embarrassing him as she did. He didn''t act on it, but he was very much upset. The heroes ignored Josh as they didn''t want to get involved, so everyone enjoyed themselves. That is... until: *Slam* The one to walk in was the guild master of the Adventurers'' Guild here in Zycon. She was a woman of average height, and had the addition of heels. She wore a very business-like suit and had long, blonde hair that reached her hips. She had glasses and sky blue eyes. Her curves showed off her maturity, as she seemed to be approximately 30. Everyone went quiet as she walked over to the heroes as they all sat in a booth eating. The exception being Josh of course in a separate booth. "Heroes, there has been an issue. I need you all to follow me into the carriage. We will discuss everything on the way." (Zycon Guild Master) Upon her dialogue, the heroes got up and began to walk. A few hurried to ask her where they would be going, and she simply replied "To the Guild". Lorne and Morgan followed lazily in the back, and everyone got into the very large carriage that was carried by 4 horses. Once everyone was situated, they began to ride off. "So, what is so important that you called us all here?" (Josh) Josh was the first to speak, as even though he was dejected about his issues with Morgan, he had to live up to being the leader of his band of heroes. "The Demon King is dead." (Zycon Guild Master) Upon these words, all but Lorne and Morgan froze. It seemed as if time had stopped inside their carriage as nobody uttered a word. All the heroes'' eyes widened at her speech, and they simply waited for her to continue. Understanding their intentions, she did. "From our spies in the demon capital of Tandspes they supposedly saw a dragon kin with crimson hair following a demon with 5 horns about his head. The demon also had weird red markings all over his body, and the spies happened to have been off duty. They didn''t tail him since he went directly into the castle. Doing so would have been suicide." (Zycon Guild Master) Taking a deep breath, she continued. "Supposedly they stayed around the castle to see if anything were to happen, such as those two leaving with soldiers or goods. However, they soon saw many soldiers fleeing the castle. Out came the demon followed by the dragon kin. The demon had bloodstains on himself, and all the guards fled for their lives in his presence. This greatly confused the spies until they later heard of the Demon King''s ''assassination''." (Zycon Guild Master) The heroes just sat there and soaked all the information in. However, the first to speak besides the guild master was surprisingly Lorne. "So, what do we do now? The demon king is dead, so that means a new one will take his place. That still doesn''t get rid of the fact that we were tasked with defeating the demons." (Lorne) The guild master wanted to ask who he was, but since the heroes all accepted his speech, she just assumed him to be a recruit. "It introduces a new character who has the ability to relatively easily kill a demon king. A demon king in which all feared is as strong as many heroes combined. For such a creature to simply walk in, kill the demon king without the crowd immediately knowing from the destruction it should have caused, then walking out is mind-boggling." (Zycon Guild Master) Lorne smiled at this, as he found it very amusing. He tried his best to keep himself under control, and although it aroused suspicion in the guild master who saw this, she ignored it. That of course was a big mistake. "What do you mean by a new demon king?" (Susan) "Well, you see, when a demon king is killed or dies in general, a new demon king will be chosen automatically. They will then ascend the throne after obtaining the new powers. Each demon king becomes more powerful than the last as their power stacks and stacks. The power of a powerful demon is added to the tremendous power of a demon king, then it becomes greater. Then that greater power is added to the next in line''s." (Zycon Guild Master) At these words, the heroes became slightly worried. The demon king was now more powerful. While not by much, it is still a decent amount. However, utmost fear engulfed the heroes as they had the worries of the fact that Lorne could kill such a creature relatively easily. That meant that even if they were to defeat the demon king, it would matter not since Lorne was stronger than such a being. Upon this realization, all of the heroes shivered at the thought of never being strong enough to beat Lorne. Josh on the other hand had a large majority of that fear converted into pure rage at the thought of being weaker than the person he used to pound to a pulp every day. The guild master only looked down as she too had a lot on her plate. She would end up sending many adventurers to their doom. For even if they won the battle against the demon king, she also knew that the creature that killed the previous demon king would be an issue. She also heard of the news of the threat from said creature, so that only added onto her pile of worries. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. With silence, the carriage continued on its venture to the guild. It rocked on the stony paths and only the sound of wood clanking was heard throughout a large distance of where the carriage was. None of the heroes spoke since they were simply stunned and either filled with dread, confusion, or wrath. Lorne and Morgan stayed silent, and put on faces as if thinking the situation through, for they actually were. Lorne was planning what to do for now. The humans would most likely mobilize their forces, and thus the two countries would be getting their armies ready in secret. Lorne planned to attack the humans when they least expected it, and barely participate, but it seems as thought he is going to have to act in the upcoming war if he wants the demons to win it. It''ll end in a stalemate if he sits out and just observes. His plans can continue working, but he''s going to have to cause some havoc in the human kingdoms. He hid the smile that would have plastered his face as he became pleased at the fact that he was now required to have some fun within enemy territory. A few high ranking officials going missing should mess up their plans, right? The carriage eventually came up to the guild, and the heroes got out alongside Lorne and Morgan. The guild master followed suite, and the heroes were ushered into the large building that was painted green and white. The paint was mostly new since you could not see many cracks or signs of deterioration, and everything looked splendid. ''Humans do tend to have a trait to show off their goods'' Morgan mused to herself. The first to speak after the long silence was the guild master. ¡°Please follow me into the building.¡± It wasn¡¯t anything spectacular, but the awkwardness of the situation was rivaled by the cheering of the people on the streets at the sight of their heroes. Even inside the guild people were clapping and yelling like madmen. Morgan figured that there would be a meeting with the heroes to determine their positions for the upcoming battles, and they would most likely be sent in once the demon forces have weakened. The specifics of their plans were unknown since Demon/Beastkin strategies were different than Human strategies, so Morgan could not answer most of the questions she had. Lorne on the other hand was not thinking of Humanity as a threat. Merely an obstacle. He was ecstatic at the fact that he would soon be killing and slaughtering to lessen the willpower of the humans. When a single being crushes all their hopes and dreams, and seemingly is much stronger than the heroes, how would they react? Would they react with even more willpower to try and defeat said being? Surely not. They would lose hope. If that single being joins a powerful army, even with the heroes, they would be crushed. It would most likely be best to surrender before everything was destroyed. The humans would split up in factions. There would be those that would fight until the end. Some would want peace after seeing that they couldn¡¯t win, and others would surrender in hopes of mercy. Such is the disgusting race known as humans. In fact, Lorne believed that all intelligent races were capable at doing this. It was just humans that were most known for their ''corruption''. Cocky until they realize they have lost, and then they beg for mercy. Mercy they didn¡¯t give to those they slaughtered, and they expect to receive mercy just because they think they are better. Lorne hated humans because of their attitudes. The way that they were. In fact, he hated all life. This new thought process was strange to him. He had been given the task of protecting the world from the humans, and helping the demons. He hated humans at first, but gradually he began to hate all life which included demons. Anything alive. As he walked inside the guild he looked at all the faces of the people. Joy was plastered across them all. The joy of finally being able to turn the tides in their favor. The merriment of life. Their rugged breathing from shouting at the top of their lungs, and the colored face shown from the flowing blood. An overwhelming hate of happy emotions welled up inside him at that moment. Then, *BaDump* Lorne¡¯s chest seemed to burst out. A single, large heartbeat reverberated throughout his entire being. *Ba-Dump* This time, it was louder but slower. Time slowed as he darted his head and looked at everyone. Morgan sensed something to have been wrong, and she went over to him. They were currently nearing the entrance to the guild master¡¯s room. The other heroes turned their gazes towards Lorne in confusion. Lorne paled quickly. ¡°Ba¡. Dump¡¡± His heartbeat had slowed, and inside of him he felt that overwhelming want to slaughter and tuned everyone out. To end their lives and devour their souls. Devour everything alive within his eyesight. Lorne knew this and panicked. He wouldn¡¯t be able to hold it back any longer. Just before he was about to lose it, he teleported out. As far away from everyone as he could, in a remote place within the forest outside of the city of Zycon. Everyone that had been in the guild was surprised. Teleportation magic was a high ranking magic that only the best of the best could use. It required the user to use magic to manipulate space itself, then transfer themselves throughout that manipulated space while using a tremendous amount of focus. This was to be expected for a mage alongside the heroes, though. When everyone turned towards Morgan for answers, she thought for a bit then said: ¡°Let¡¯s continue. He should be right back. Sometimes his magic can get out of hand and he has to let it loose.¡± After several awkward nods, they began to move into the guild master¡¯s room.
