《A Cliché Reincarnation》 Prologue: A cliche ending leading to a cliche beginning Prologue Everything was dark. Let me rephrase such an understatement, it was pitch black. Nothing in sight. But it was peaceful, a blissful silence and nothingness, which enveloped me. Rendering not only my sight useless but all my other senses as well. Although it¡¯s not as if I mind, in fact I¡¯d rather stay. . . A rigid desk underneath my elbow gave me a slight ache due to all the time I had spent in one position. My eyes slowly opened and were drawn to the my Science professor as he continued with his lecture, not noticing my small nap. I¡¯d forgotten his name long ago, not bothering in the slightest to memorise it. I sat at the very back left hand corner and had more the half the desk to myself. No one wanted to sit next to the freak. Now the reason as to why I am called such is simple, well reasons. Firstly, my face. Its not as if I¡¯m deathly ugly. I had black hair with green eyes and an okay build, as a matter of fact I thought I was a little above average. The thing is it doesn¡¯t change. I do have emotion they are just hidden very well by my expressionless visage. The second cause would be my head and by my head I mean my mind in particular. Being in the worlds top ten in terms of IQ at 17 isn¡¯t something people regard as amazing but freaky or monstrous. These two factors cause me to be avoided as many see me as rude or feel intimidated by my presence. However this is perfect since I prefer not to interact with people anyway. I¡¯m a pretty anti-social person. The useless lecture carried on for another half hour and then we were dismissed. I¡¯d studied all the material for this course during middle school and there was nothing new that I hadn¡¯t already known. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. I made my way home passing the library today, I¡¯d just finished all the books they had available which I believe is quite a feat. Excluding most of the children¡¯s section. I ventured on to the crossing, pressing the button I stood waiting for a chance to cross. After a second or two, I was able to cross. As I continued I looked to my left where a truck sped towards me. Its approximate being 3000kg leading to a large velocity and momentum at this rate even if I were to try dodge I would surely die. Though I don¡¯t want to die, there¡¯s nothing I can do about it. My eyes met with the drivers closed ones as he continued to doze off on the wheel. My life flashed before my eyes including the scenes of my parents death and sister. A tinge of regret crossed me as I reminisced how little time I¡¯d spent with them. Then eyes of my aunt and uncle who took me in purely for a larger part in the inheritance. The collection of memories were relatively short as most of my time had been spent reading, but I guess there¡¯s no use in regretting such things now. It¡¯s a good a thing I wrote a will donating 90% of the inheritance to charity leaving 5% for my burial and the rest for Great Aunt Milva. The impact was hard as I was surrounded in a pitch black veil of nothingness once again, hopefully this time it¡¯ll be permanent. I don¡¯t how long I¡¯d been here already, my sense of time seemed to have been severely distorted. But it as peaceful as ever, it¡¯s perfect. The darkness never ceased engulf me. On the nth day a felt a slight tug on me, my entity. It got stronger until I heard a large cry. The piercing sound increased in volume forcing me to pull open my eyes. Eyes? Chapter 1: A Clich茅 Gender bend and A Clich茅 Outro Chapter 1: A Clich¨¦ Gender bend and A Clich¨¦ Outro A bright light had almost blinded me, as I looked around me trying to make sense of my surroundings. Was I alive in hospital, I can''t be. The amount of force from that truck would kill ten fold. But It does make me question as to why it was going at such a speed anyway, it was a school zone due to the primary school nearby. Or could it be that the anxiety of the situation caused me to make a mistake in my calculation. I doubt it. The ear-splitting cry continued. It came from right beside me causing me to try turn my head in hope of finding the source. No matter how hard I tried my neck wouldn''t move as I wish. After a few more attempts I gave up realising it was a futile effort. Some time passed as a I observed my surroundings, well as much you could with a stiff neck. The main conclusion was that there was a white ceiling with a light bulb in the centre. Out the corner of my eye I could make out the start to a baby blue wallpaper. A large woman stood above me. She had Deep black hair and eyes, with a pale complexion. She looked to the side and seemed to pick something up. As she came back up a baby was in her arms. The child had piercing blue eyes and was draped in white cloth. "$%¡ê^&*$%H&", the woman began to speak in an unknown language. It didn''t have any Latin roots nor did it sound like anything I''d heard before. I''d mastered 23 languages and could hold simple conversations in another 14. "$$%$^%&*%¡ê^%$." This time it was a much deeper voice which sounded as a man probably no more than 35 came in. He strode closer stretching out his hands to my sides, lifting me. Very easily. "$¡ê^%¡ê%^&(>@~#" "%#%&$@<./;''?¡ê$%" "%^&¡ê" An ongoing conversation began between the two as I continued to look around the room. The walls were pale green in colour and a window was placed on the right wall. I couldn''t really specify anything else as I peered over the grown man''s shoulder. The child''s weep had subsided allowing a lot more peace and serenity to enter the room. Though the voices spoke they were gentle only adding to the atmosphere. After being fed and put down, I drifted of to sleep. A few weeks passed as I gradually began to understand my situation. The language spoken became notably easy to learn, too easy. Recounting all these events, I may be in the body of a baby. Therefore this should be the phenomenon known as reincarnation. Though I was never the religious type, reincarnation was the only plausible answer. After drawing this conclusion I immediately tried to listen various conversations from the maids which would take care of us from time to time. By the collective term ''us'' , I am talking about my sibling, Annalise I think. Other than Annalise I have two other brothers. Wilder who''s 7 and Lucas aged 5. Other than these things I have learnt something new about myself. I had started to have suspicions when I was called the name Arianna, which I instinctively knew was definitely a female name. However what confirmed my hypothesis was the moment of which I looked downwards, It wasn''t there. How depressing, how so very depressing. It can''t be helped, even if I was reborn it doesn''t mean I would definitely be male. Although, I doubt it particularly matters since I don''t think it''ll affect my life very much. I''d never had very much interaction with the other sex, I doubt I would now. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. As the days rolled on I came to realize that the dark haired women was in fact my mother. The man being my father. They came into the room once again taking us out of our cots to play with us, I find it a little insulting if anything. Even though it was, I acted like a toddler a best as I could, not wanting to arise any suspicion. Learning the basic of the language wasn''t difficult , whether that was due to the mind of this body or myself was unknown. Based on word s I''ve seen around the house It used a Latin based writing system however they didn''t have much in common. Today we were out in the garden and I mainly sat on a patio type area. This world though it isn''t underdeveloped, due to the existence of magic many theories discovered on earth didn''t really apply here. So there were vehicles and stoves etc. but these were all run on magic and not electricity. When I had fist heard about magic, I severely doubted the mental state of my father, but when he performed it in front of my sister and I relented. It had given full confirmation on the fact that I was no longer on earth. It was either that or the fact that a severe case of schizophrenia ran in the family. The garden was big, very big. It had a small pond added in by the gardener who had been spending the last few weeks redoing the garden.I suspected it to hold Koi fish of some sort. The house had many rooms most remaining a mystery since I haven''t had the chance to look around. From the looks of it and the maids gossip my father is a middle class noble. It was a Japanese styled house, of a really big size matching the garden. Annalise and father were running about in the garden and began calling me to join them. Its not as if I didn''t particularly want to, well I didn''t but it would add to the whole average child act I have on. But I felt oddly uncomfortable to engage in the activities and could never run for long before becoming severely fatigued therefore causing me to opt against it. A little dejected over my refusal, they continued their little games as I continued to observe. Mother wanted me to join as well, but realised I preferred to stay here. She sat there contemplating something, probably about the fact that even though me and Annalise are twins we are almost nothing alike apart from our appearances. Which is mostly due to the fact that as a reincarnated person, I''d obviously be a lot more mature. Both I and Annalise had the same silvery white hair from our father. Other that the way we acted the only other way to tell us apart was by our distinct eye colour. Annalise''s were a bright baby blue whereas mine matched my hair colour as a deep grey. The rest of the day had nothing note worthy in it and neither did the days following. It was a basic routine of sleep, eat , play or in my case sit. And Like this about 6 months passed. It was another normal day at the household And I sat on the patio once again. Suddenly, I felt a pain in the right hand side of my chest. As the pain amplified I began to crouch inwards on myself hoping for it to subside. I caught the eyes of my mother who came running with a worried look on her face. The painful sensation amplified as I coughed up a little blood. "Aria!!!" she cried. " Darling her mana''s going out of control!!" Other shouts and worrisome voices collided with my others mother cry. I felt being lifted as other scramble once father told them to call a doctor. Eventually the all sounds became silence as a everything went black. This happens way too often. . . Chapter 2: A Clich茅 Traumatic Experience Chapter 2: A Clich¨¦ Traumatic Experience How long have I been sleeping? My guess is a long time. Then it came to me. Wasn''t I reincarnated? The where is this, did I perhaps die again. What bad luck. "-0-!!!" "-sh-wakin- u!" What is this? It''s so noisy . My eyes abruptly opened and began to take in my environment as the noise continued in the background. Gradually the sounds began to form words as I could finally understood what had been said. "Arianna! Oh Goddess of light its a miracle!" The ecstatic shout came from my mother. I watched her above me whilst tears came down her face. Turning my head slightly I saw a young girl aged about 5 and looked vaguely familiar. Her bright blue eyes held a feeling of gratefulness and her silvery shoulder length hair waved about with her happy stature. She looked to be an older version of Annalise, then it came to me that, she probably is. Other figures around the came into view, one being my father, who stood next to both my brothers. In that moment memory of the immense pain before this came to mind. Did I really sleep that long? Looking back at my brothers and sister confirmed my suspicions. "Darling, can you hear me?"The voice came from my mother who wore a hopeful expression on her face. The rest of them also shared this serious visage as my eyes met with mother''s. "Y-yes" My answer resounded and almost echoed as mother went from happy to ecstatic in a matter of seconds. Calming down a little along with the rest of my family she asked me another question. "Can you get up?" Realising that I still hadn''t even attempted to get up, I tried to muster some strength and pick myself up. It was a little straining but I managed, however this hadn''t surprised me, when recalling my 5 year slumber. Mother gave me a tight hug, a part of me wanted her to let go but I allowed it thinking of how much emotional strain my seemingly eternal sleep probably gave her. Then and there I decided to try be a good daughter remembering my past life and how little time I''d actually spent with my previous family. Since I''ve got a chance at a new life I might as well try to accomplish things I got the chance to and much more. Eventually she let go and began to talk to me about what had happened to me. I was correct in my guessing that I''d slept the whole time, not waking once. They called many doctors which had no idea what was going on except for one which had said that it was something to do with my mana core, but that was about it. Apparently a mana core was similar to heart but instead of pumping blood around the body it pumped mana. The amount of mana differed from person to person but only around 30 percent of the worlds population had the opportunity to become a mage as most people had very little mana, this included all races. "But still, I wonder what caused your sleep" She continued. "Oh wait, we can use the status spell!" "Status. . ." Dad perks up at this , "I''ll notify the priest right away" The people around me continued to converse about a status spell and other arrangements as I the world around me seemed to darken in my mothers arms. An unyielding sleep took over me. *** My vision was severely blurred as I try to pry open my eyes. What happened? Almost as soon as I asked the question memories flooded my mind. Once I''d organised my thought my vision began to clear. The room was the same as I remember and it didn''t feel like much time had passed. Maybe a day or two? I mustered enough strength to sit up and did so with utmost effort. My upper arm strength was the absolute minimal. Not that the strength of my previous body was something to gawk at. What garnered my attention next was the slow opening of the door on the other side of the room. A familiar figure peered through the door. Her head of silvery white hair danced as she looked from left to right before bright blue eyes connected with my own. Her pupils widened in delight as she scrambled over to me visually excited about my reawakening. "Aria! Are you okay?" She beamed. To which I simply nodded in response. "I''m gonna go tell mum and dad." And with that she sprinted to the door, leaving me in peaceful silence. Don''t get me wrong, I didn''t particularly dislike her presence and I did promise myself that I''d try to be a more sociable person in this lifetime, I just really like silence. The silence was soon broken by my mother who practically came tumbling through the door, incredibly happy to see me awake. She followed by my father and older brothers Lucas and Wilder. My mother smiled widely as she said "We were beginning to worry again, when you blacked out on us. But the doctor said that it was just fatigue." "You really gave us a scare, but I knew that you''d be alight" My father added.Wilder grinned at this before retorting: "Of course you did, that''s why you practically ran around the house like a maniac on meds after she''d fallen asleep out of panic." In response to his son''s little comment he reddened slightly and turned away before clearing his throat. Whereas mother just giggled at him. Unfortunately for Wilder he was left out of the little teasing fest, as Lucas joined in. "Fufufu, but I guess you''d know all about that wouldn''t youAneki" he sneered playfully, as Wilder looked away his face reddening just like his dad''s. The constant banter andlighthearted family moments continued for a little while. During the this I simply kept quiet feeling slightly awkward. Whether it was due to the fact that ,even though they were my family, I rarely knew them orjustmy inability to interact with others on a social level. "Aria dear, the priest will be arriving soon to activateyour status." My mother said bringing back the main issue. To which I could do nothing but nod. "How about we get you ready then shall we?". She continued as Annalise jumped about in excitement. In retrospect,I''m actuallylookingforwardto the possibility ofand RPG type worldas in my last life Inever really took notice of such games oranygames ingeneral. Annalise followed shutting the door. Are~. What this incredibly ominous auracoming from mother. Analise stood at the doorsooting my a slightly pitiful look. *** That wasa trauma inducingexperience.Apparently, since Annalise was a very sporty girl shecouldn''twear skirts and dresses, astheyare impractical, I however am another case.
