《The Reader's World》 Step 1 Josh Hammott must be delirious. ¡®Where am I? Didn¡¯t I die?¡¯ He thought. ¡®Is this Heaven? Or Hell?¡¯ ¡°Nope, you¡¯re not in Kansas anymore, either.¡± ¡°But I come from Texas¡¡± ¡®Wait, what? Who?¡¯ All of a sudden, Josh¡¯s vision cleared and before him stood a figure wearing a black hoodie, its face covered, its hands in its pockets. The figure wore faded grey jeans and looked to be standing in some sort of living area. ¡°Even though neither of us are alive! Ha!¡± The strange voice said. The voice wasn¡¯t quite the same as before, as if it was quoting some movie character. ¡°Oi, you should know I am a guy¡stop calling me ¡®it¡¯.¡± Josh¡¯s mind was working in overtime as he tried to piece together the information. ¡°Are you God?¡± ¡°Hohoooo no. I¡¯m not omniscient or almighty. But I am your creator.¡± ¡°What¡¯s the difference?¡± ¡°This isn¡¯t real. To you it may be, but to me, this is just some novel I am working on. And you¡¯re the main character!¡± ¡®Wha¡¡¯ ¡°But-¡° ¡°Nope, the life you lived and the people you once knew, even you right now are just words on my computer screen. Sorry to burst your bubble. Have a seat and eat some white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.¡± Josh took a seat on the nearby sofa. Thanks to this break, Josh took the time to look around. On the wall was the latest technology on the market. The biggest TV he had ever seen, a sound system that would make you feel as if you were actually there, and all the game stuff he could think of. By the game consoles was some strange device that looked like a jukebox-vending machine-crane game. ¡°I¡¯ve got several of those. That one is for games. Just type in which game you want, and it will get it for you. There are others for movies, music, books, and more. Just make sure to clean up before getting out more.¡± ¡°What is this stuff for?¡± ¡°For you, of course. You have to have something to do while we wait.¡± ¡°Wait for what?¡± ¡°The Readers! This is, after all, for them!¡± ¡°Right, a novel MC¡Why me?¡± ¡°Why not? Anyways, we¡¯re getting off subject. Let me explain what is going to happen to you. You are going on an adventure with many Readers as the Game Masters, so to speak. You will still be yourself, but the things happening around you will be at the mercy of the Readers. I can grant you the gamer ability, just like you read in those reincarnation novels, and one item that contains a set. For example, a BAG of FOOD, a BOX of CLOTHES, or a COMPUTER filled with PORN¡or not. That last one would be weird, huh.¡± ¡°What about my house with my family?¡± ¡°?! OoOoOoh! I didn¡¯t think of that! Hmmmmmmm¡No.¡± Love what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on. ¡°What?! Why not?¡± ¡°I do this for your sake. Imagine the Readers selecting some post-apocalyptic world. Your family would die in front of you! How about this. After fulfilling certain requirements, the Readers will determine which gifts to give over time. Maybe it will be your family, maybe it will be a rock.¡± ¡°Ugh...¡± ¡°Whelp. Let me explain the first part. The Race Selection.¡± Josh sat silently knowing full well this might be the only time this stranger will say this. ¡°Good, the Race Selection will be carried out by the Readers. Races will have a certain amount of stats and a certain amount of starter skills. For example, a Dwarf, an average starting race, will have 30 stat points and 3 starting skills. These skills are [Fairy Language], [Construction], and [Blacksmithing] for obvious reasons. The Readers will determine your starting race, whether it be a weed or a dragon. I will fill in the other information later, but for now, the Readers will say random things and I will select the Top Five. Then I will create a poll later on containing the Top Five. Then everyone can vote on the more detailed selections. Got it so far?¡± ¡°Well¡what about where I¡¯m going, or what about skills I can choose?¡± ¡°First off, don¡¯t get ahead of yourself. Second off, once you are in the world, you can obtain skills through training or scrolls.¡± ¡°Okay¡I can tell this is going to take a while, but what is this room really for?¡± ¡°Hahaha, astute, aren¡¯t you? This room will be available for you to use during your stay in whatever world. But time in that world will freeze and only continue when you go back. So don¡¯t think about hiding in this room forever. You can also contact me here, as well as any Readers that wish to speak with you. That, of course, will come later.¡± ¡°Who are you?¡± ¡°Ah, the million dollar question! Who I am currently is Dead Skeleton!¡± The figure pulled his skeletal hands out of his pockets and took of his hood to reveal a weathered and cracked skull that had a burning yellow flame for eyes. ¡°What kind of name is that?¡± ¡°Would you prefer the Gamer Tag I use on CoD, Evl_Gngr? Or perhaps my MMORPG name 3v1lG1ng3r?¡± ¡°Heh?! What is with those names?¡± ¡°What, I don¡¯t wanna use my real name yet!¡± ¡°Ugh¡¡± ¡°Anyways, Josh Hammott, age 18, born on November 16th, average athletic build, decent looks, curious by nature, and graduated in the top 25 of your class. You have slightly above average capabilities that make me look pathetic. You had a full ride to your favorite college, the girl of your dreams actually likes you, and you¡¯ve never known failure.¡± ¡°Where are you going with this?¡± ¡°I wish you luck in this unfair world. See you in a little bit.¡± Step 1.5 Josh Hammott must be bored. Josh was currently eating tasty cookies while watching the latest episode of some mystery drama on the computer. BANG! A loud sound, like a door being slammed open, rang out through the room. The next thing Josh knew, was Dead Skeleton, his ¡®Creator¡¯, was jumping on the sofa with a satisfied sigh. ¡°Woooh, getting college in order sucks. Watching N?IS, Joshie?¡± ¡°Heh? What¡¯s with that way of talking? What was that in the middle? And where did you come from?¡± ¡°Well I am just being casual. And where else would I come from, the door!¡± ¡°So you''re going to ignore the second question? Before that, there¡¯s a door?!¡± ¡°For you, it only goes to the kitchen and the training room. Here, you technically have no need for food, sleep, or excrement. But eating is just so fun¡although I don¡¯t have any taste buds¡¡± ¡°¡Anyways, have you figured out what I¡¯m going to be? Or did not enough people read your story, and you had to quit?¡± ¡°Not yet, and the story just started! Don¡¯t go killing this off just yet! And besides, if there¡¯s not enough choices, I¡¯ll just add some in. If everyone picks your starting race as a [Rock] without thinking, you would be S.O.L.¡± ¡°Is that even one of the choices?¡± ¡°Hehehehehe¡kind of¡¡± ¡°Great¡¡± ¡°Anyways, some rules to follow. Once in the new world, you cannot bring things here or take things out. Only you can come and go. In this space, you will not increase your stats, skills, or abilities. You will have to memorize what Mr. Google says before going back.¡± ¡°Mr. Google? I¡¯m not a kid.¡± ¡°On to the other matters. The training room is for practicing your combat abilities. You can ¡®summon¡¯ creatures you will have previously met to run simulations on future battles. You won¡¯t die in this space so that¡¯s a plus. In the kitchen, you can bring in any ingredients you need. This way, you can learn strategies and recipes for the real world. Any books or information you obtain in the new world can be found here for you to go over. All in all, you have it going on here.¡± ¡°That¡¯s actually really cool. Why are you helping me so much?¡± ¡°Because this way, even if you have to deal with a Kaiju or a Titan or a minor god, using this space can guarantee you won¡¯t go down without a fight. But remember, this can only be useful if you know how to use it. So I would say, ¡®familiarize yourself with this space¡¯. And have you decided on what you¡¯ll bring?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know yet. Maybe closer to when I leave this place.¡± At this time, Josh decided to check out the facilities. That was when he noticed a very familiar door in front of him. ¡°What is H?wl¡¯s door doing here?¡± ¡°Hehe, like it? Spin the dial! The green dial is still under construction. The black one will lead to the new world, the red one will lead to the training room, and the blue one leads to the kitchen! Saves on space, too.¡± ¡°This is copyright, right?¡± ¡°How should I know? This is just a fanfic. I will check the details later.¡± ¡°Heeh¡¡± Josh then proceeded to check out the training room. There was a tutorial that showed him the ropes. He also learned that besides 1v1 training, he could even simulate war with specific units. This would help him and any possible friends he may obtain. The space could even equip him with any tool he had ever seen before¡even copyright ones. Josh played around a bit wielding Z?ngetsu while fighting N?ruto while L?ffy cheered on the sidelines. After the constant censoring and copyright, Josh headed for the kitchen. He wanted G?ku to come along, but the units could not leave the room. After arriving in the kitchen, he saw another tutorial that explained all the necessary information on becoming a top chef. He was already used to cooking, since he was the one who cooked for his family all the time. While reminiscing, he ate the legendary anime meat and cried from happiness. Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. ''I wish Mom and Cyndi could join me.'' Out of nowhere, Dead Skeleton appeared, laying on the table eating an apple. ¡°Aren¡¯t there other girls for you to invite besides your mom and sister? How about your childhood friend and crush? Or maybe your over-affectionate English teacher? Or maybe the pretty next door neighbor?¡± ¡°What? Why them?¡± ¡°Because they like you. A lot. To the point it¡¯s scary.¡± ¡°Really? I never noticed...¡± ¡°Because you were more motivated for your future. You ignored the strange behavior of these ladies and your other classmates. You were the aloof and dedicated popular athlete. The cougars wanted to relive the youth they did not experience, and the surrounding girls all thought you were perfect. But that gave you a flaw. You became untouchable. A dream for these girls. If you talked to a girl, it made their entire day. Kinda might be the reason you were singled out.¡± ¡°What?! Why?!¡± ¡°Cuz I¡¯m jealous.¡± ¡°So childish¡¡± ¡°Soooo, moving on, the Top Five Starting Races are made of basic monsters and intelligent species. Like I said before, the average race begins with 3 Skills and 30 Stat Points. The stronger the Starting Race, the less number of Skills it will start with. Choice Number 1 is a [Dragon]! Unfortunately, you will have to start off as a [Newborn] no matter what race is selected. Kinda the meaning behind reincarnation. You will begin with 30 Stat Points and 3 Skills. These Skills are [Scratch], [Scales], and [Lizard Breath].¡± ¡°That¡¯s cool and all, but I¡¯m not being summoned or transmigrated?¡± ¡°You sure learned a lot while waiting. Nope, reincarnation. Choice Number 2 is a Northern Coastal Tribe of [Human Barbarians]. These Human sub-species live in the Northern Taiga and survive by fighting large monsters all the time. Living on the coast is even tougher since they have to challenge the aquatic monsters, too. They start off with 20 Stat Points and 4 Skills. [Fishing], [Cold Resistance], [Water Affinity], and [Barbarian Blood].¡± ¡°Sounds kind of ¡®bad-ass¡¯.¡± ¡°Choice Number 3 is the mysterious [Blood Stone Golem], a unique existence that might be taboo, might be over-powered, and will definitely be full of danger! This [Golem] begins with 20 Stat Points and 4 Skills. [Blood Mastery], [Mining], [Earth Magic], and [Unarmed Mastery].¡± ¡°Ooh, that sounds cool¡wait¡is that the ¡®rock¡¯ you mentioned?¡± ¡°Hehe, yep. Choice Number 4 is the cute little [Fire Ferret]! It is in no way related with ?hrome¡¯s rival¡Starts off with 30 Stat Points and 3 Skill Points. [Fire Magic], [Fire Mastery], and [Fire Affinity].¡± ¡°Sounds great. What¡¯s the last one?¡± ¡°Well¡I had to make changes to this one because lasers would have a hard time shooting from someone¡¯s nose¡¡± ¡°Wait, what?!¡± ¡°Choice Number 5 is the ever elusive [Unicorn]! Due to the Reader¡¯s suggestion, this choice will change your gender to Female. A very powerful and uh¡graceful creature. Has a racial trait where at night, you will change into a muscular human form. Starts with 40 Stat Points and 2 Skills. [Nature Magic] and [Charge] are the starting Skills¡Soooo yeah¡¡± ¡°Whose bright idea was that?¡± ¡°A satellite in space.¡± ¡°HUH??!!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it. Whelp, see ya when I see ya!¡± At that moment, Dead Skeleton disappeared, although, as he left, Josh saw a strange red light fly up from his body as his eyes flashed the exact same red¡ From Up On High After leaving Josh to mull over which race he was going to begin with, Evil Ginger traveled to the wondrous planet Josh was going to live in. Evil Ginger stopped at several thousand miles above the planet to look it over. As he was now, he had no body. He was just a floating ball of bright red. Not even gas. Just the color. As Evil Ginger, who likes to go by just ¡®Evil¡¯ to save the author¡¯s fingers, watched the world being created, he laughed cruelly. ¡°HHAhahahaha! I¡¯m finally free! With those races, one of them shall be mine! That bag of bones was a sorry excuse for a body, I don¡¯t know how Dead Skeleton can handle it! He¡¯s a pansy, too! And you! I know you are there! I wouldn¡¯t be doing anything without your input, Oh Great ¡®Creator¡¯!¡± Evil was currently ecstatic that he could choose one of the Top Five Races. He could finally have a body suitable for himself. Unfortunately, due to his impatience, Evil still had to wait for the decision of Josh¡¯s race. After that, Evil would get one of the remaining Four. After the decisions on Josh¡¯s character, Evil also had to wait for the world to finish being created. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. But, a world where [Humans], [Dragons], [Golems], [Ferrets], and [Unicorns] exist will also have a world where many other monsters and fantasy creatures reign. There will be magic, human ingenuity, and powerful monster materials. This means powerful weapons, armor, and technology. But when is Josh going to exist? Where will Josh pop up? In the world Josh was in before, there happened to be something called bio-electricity. ¡°Pretty much, it¡¯s Qi, Chi, Chakra, whatever you wanna call it.¡± Would this also exist in the new world, albeit, with more possibilities for power? ¡°That would be really over-powered. Might wanna NERF it.¡± Originally, cultivating your qi was believed to lead to immortality, or at least a longer lifespan. ¡°Oh, maybe don¡¯t NERF it, keep it. I really wanna live forever! HAHAHaha!¡± == What do YOU think Reader? This is, after all YOUR World. Name it. Inhabit it. Imagine it. Step 2 Josh Hammott must be hungry. He finished training and headed to the kitchen. Upon opening the door, what stood before him was a skeleton wearing a fancy suit that seemed to fit butlers rather well. The skull was weathered, and yellow light shone for his eyes. He clearly looked different from before. ¡°That is because I¡¯m not the same Dead Skeleton as before. Or rather, the Dead Skeleton from before was not me. His name was, is, and shall ever be, Evil Ginger. He and I are both Entities created for this novel. Both of us represent a separate part of the author. Unfortunately, Evil Ginger has more power than I. He was upset that I had a body but he did not, so he possessed me who had possessed this being. After your race was selected, he chose one of the other races and left. For now, why not have some hot chocolate and pound cake?¡± And sounded different, too. ¡®Where do I start first¡?¡¯ Dead Skeleton gestured to the open chair at the table for Josh to sit at. As he sat down, he questioned, ¡°So my race has been selected?¡± ¡°Yes, sir.¡± Dead Skeleton seemed resolute to just stand at Josh¡¯s side like a normal butler would. ¡°Wow, you two are really different.¡± ¡°But we both make up the same person.¡± ¡°Uhh, ok¡so what is my race?¡± ¡°It seems you will become the [Were-Unicorn]. ¡°Awww¡I kind of wanted the [Golem], though¡wait, I should be more worried about becoming a girl¡¡± At this point, Dead Skeleton bows in apology before standing straight up again to continue. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, sir, but on to the topic of your Job, which will grant you one Skill and decide how to allocate your Stat Points, and your Special Skills. The Job can be anything from [Warrior] to [Healer], from [Book Lover] to [Dungeon Crawler], and even include Unique and Strange Jobs like [King] and [Hopeless Romantic]. These are just some of the many choices the Readers have for your Job. A Job dictates where your Stat Points go whenever you level up.¡± ¡°I can level up? What are the Stats?¡± ¡°There are the Major Three Stats [Strength], [Endurance], and [Intelligence]. Each of these will influence your HP, SP, and MP respectively. Besides raising your Health Points, [Strength] also increases your damage output. [Endurance] does the same with Stamina Points and lowers received damage. [Intelligence] increases your Magic Points while increasing your thinking speed as well. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. The next Minor Three Stats include [Hit], [Agility], and [Perception]. [Hit] increases accuracy and critical chance, while [Agility] increases attack speed and reflexes. [Perception] is a strange one. It allows one to further understand their Skills and abilities. Someone who has high [Perception] will have an easier time creating new techniques with weapons, new spells for magic, and understanding the ways of the world through meditation.¡± ¡°Is meditation necessary?¡± ¡°It is if you would like to become stronger, Josh. The Special Two Stats are called [Charm] and [Luck]. I would like to believe your previous life had both of these Stats as rather high.¡± ¡°Really?¡± ¡°Truly. [Charm] increases others¡¯ opinions of you and helping with bartering and trade. [Luck] increases drop rate of treasure and usable materials while also increasing the chance of something good happening. But that only happens when you have good [Karma].¡± ¡°What if it¡¯s not?¡± ¡°Then the opposite happens. More chances for bad things to happen, the treasure you find might be fake or not even there, and things like the poison sack of the monster you defeated burst and ruined all of the carcass become more common. Rather unfortunate, I say.¡± ¡°Dang¡wait, what about the Special Skills?¡± ¡°Yes, sir. Any skill that comes to the Readers¡¯ mind is accepted. This includes, but is not limited to; [Appraisal], [World¡¯s Tongue], and [Infinite Storage Space]. These are the usual three from other novels, if my memory serves correctly. They allow the user to identify items and learn more about them, speak any language of the world, and have a special inventory that is weightless, cost nothing to use, and cannot be filled. Truly amazing Skills. Any Skill chosen by the Readers will be [LV: MAX]ed.¡± ¡°Soooo¡what now?¡± ¡°You can go into the training area and practice your new Race and Skills, although in this space, you can choose to stay in your current form, or choose to be your new Race already. If you ever need my help, I will be here, just call my name.¡± ¡°But it¡¯s such an odd name.¡± ¡°It is the name my Creator gave me.¡± Dead Skeleton bowed again as an apology for having a weird name. ¡°I-I-I meant no such d-disrespect, Master!¡± ¡°???¡± ======================== ¡°Hello there, wonderful Readers. I am Dead Skeleton, your host for this chapter. I wish the best of luck to Josh, this story, and even my rather unbearable counterpart, Evil Ginger. But most of all, I wish YOU luck! Have a good day, and see you next time!¡± The World Will Turn *WARNING FOUL LANGUAGE AHEAD* == Evil Ginger was currently watching the world¡¯s creation. If anyone ever saw this action, it would look like a bright red ball floating several thousand miles over a scorched, dead, and blackened world. Orbiting the world was a strange blue glowing rock that would be better described as a moon. Off in the far distance, two suns, which were rather close to each other, burned brightly. ¡°Stop it, you¡¯re boring the Readers! Or me, at least.¡± The world currently had no lifeforms even remotely similar to dragons. All Evil Ginger could do was wait. ¡°Hehe, yeah. I get to be the dragon, while Joshie gets to become Josie! HAHAHAHA!¡± Even though there were two suns, the climate was rather the same compared to Josh¡¯s home planet, albeit a little more exposure to the sun than necessary. The air was more concentrated than on his home planet though, so life forms were growing at a rapid rate. It helped that mana was infused into every single person, place, and thing. This allowed for strange mutations to happen among-¡°Boring! Switch to something more fun!¡± As if evading Evil¡¯s detection, a meteor hit him out of nowhere, propelling him towards the world¡¯s surface. When Evil awoke, he found him-¡°WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.THIS ISN¡¯T A DRAGON! This is a fucking gecko! What the actual fuck am I supposed to do as a gecko?¡± Evil had been reincarnated as a [Baby Chameleon]. Not even a [Dragon Egg]. ¡°I can see that! What the hell, asshole?!¡± He had started off with 20 Stats allocated towards [Agility], [Endurance], and then [Perception]. ¡°Not even [Strength] or [[Intelligence]?!¡± He had also reincarnated with 4 Skills; [Camouflage], [Wall Climb], [Lizard Scales], and [Lizard Claws]. ¡°Oooh¡Where¡¯s my [Breath] attack?!¡± His Job got turned into [Assassin] with the build [Hit] +3, [Agility] +3, and [Perception] +2 every time he levels up. ¡°Great, I will have to make do with the remaining two Stat Points each level. Why did you do this?!¡± On the bright side, Evil had started off with the gigantic chunk of meteorite. ¡°Great¡what am I supposed to do with this if I don¡¯t have any THUMBS??!!¡± It would seem that Evil Ginger has quite a long adventure ahead of him. One would wonder if he could even survive¡ == ¡°I¡¯ll fucking show you! I WILL become a dragon, and you WILL recognize my existence! I SWEAR IT!! And I¡¯ll even kill your precious Joshie if I happen to find him¡You will rue the day you humiliated me! Step 2.5 Josh Hammott must be feeling weird. He¡or rather¡SHE was practicing in the training area constantly switching from [Unicorn] form to [Human] form. The Beast form was rather beautiful. Her mane seemed to shimmer with all the colors, rather than ordering from red to violet. Her silky tail was the same way. With such a luminescent presence amongst the pure white hide, it created an intriguing contrast. On her forehead was a startlingly sharp horn with a strange spiral design that seemed to be made out of some crystal. This crystal, if it caught the light juuust right, it would cause a cascade of rainbow-colored light to shine. In her Moonlight form, the horn stayed, although it became smaller. It lost most of its luster, as if to hide the true radiance it contains. She stands six feet and 4 inches tall (¡Ö1.9 meters), with a pure white dress that covers her shoulders and reaches her shins. Around her waist is a strange silver like belt keeping her dress from blowing around in the wind. Her hair seems to be a similar color to the belt. Of course, the outfit appears to be a representation of her Beast form. Josh¡¯s Moonlight form was toned, but not ¡®beefy¡¯ so to say. She had no excess fat and had a modest bust. Her eyes were sharp, her eyebrows thin and trimmed. Her lips formed a scowl naturally, as if all she saw would never be good enough. She seems imposing, like a general. Her appearance could be attributed to the Amazons of his old world. The first thought he had, was ¡°I¡¯m glad I¡¯m the same height.¡± Josh showed no care towards the fact he was a girl. Almost as if he was prepared. ¡°Sir, of course he would be prepared. Time passes much differently here, after all.¡± Dead Skeleton stood off to the side watching Josh because he had nothing better to do. ¡°S-sir? I-I apologize, please stop teasing me¡¡± ¡°Hmm? Is something wrong, Dead?¡± Josh, hearing Dead Skeleton¡¯s remark, approached, turning back into his male form. ¡°Sorry, sir. It was just the Creator.¡± It would seem that Dead Skeleton forgot his job. ¡°EEP!! My apologies, Master! *EHEM* Young Josh, I have come to tell you the Top Five Jobs and Top Five Skills. Your Job shall be selected from these listed here, and from the Skills list, the Top Three shall become yours.¡± ¡°Ok, cool.¡± ¡°The Top Five Jobs are as follows. The first Job is [Laser Princess]. This Job actually comes with a Special Skill of its own, but only at the basic level. The Skill itself is called [Laser Magic]. The point allotment is [Hit] +3, [Perception] +2, [Intelligence] +2, and [Charm] +1 at every level up. With every level up, regardless of Job, you gain an additional two Stat Points that you can allocate yourself. ¡°That¡¯s good. And I see the lasers are back. Is this perhaps for the satellite?¡± ¡°Sort of. The next Job is called [Rainbowmancer]. This Job also comes with a Special Skill. That Skill is called [Rainbow Magic]. The Stat allotment is [Charm] +3, [Intelligence] +3, and [Perception] +2.¡± ¡°Umm¡what¡¯s with these strange Jobs?¡± ¡°I apologize, for I do not know. The third Job is called [Lucky Bastard]. No Special Skill, but it raises [Luck] +4, [Charm] +1, [Hit] +1, [Perception] +1, and [Agility] +1.¡± ¡°What¡kind of Readers are these guys?!¡± ¡°¡Well, the fourth Job is called [Bounty Hunter]. This Job does not come with an extra Skill. The Stat allotment is [Strength] +3, [Endurance] +3, and [Agility] +2. A pretty simple Job.¡± ¡°That¡¯s good. Whew, thought I would get a strange one again. What¡¯s the last one?¡± ¡°Uhh¡This one is a little¡no, a LOT different. This is probably one of the strongest Jobs I have seen. But¡¡± At this point, Dead was fidgeting, wringing his bony wrists while dodging Josh¡¯s gaze. ¡°Maybe we should go sit down¡¡± ¡°Okay, let¡¯s go to the living room.¡± Josh could tell something wasn¡¯t right. When they got to the room and he sat down, Dead had started to bring refreshments. But Dead was shaking so bad, Josh thought he was going to make a mess. ¡°What seems to be the problem, Dead?¡± ¡°Well¡I don¡¯t know much about your past, Josh. But I feel like this Job might affect you mentally.¡± This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work.Once again, Josh pondered, wondering what exactly could have riled the poor skeleton up. He decided to listen patiently. ¡°Okay, so the name of this particular Job is called [Dark Historian]. It comes with a Cursed Skill called [Dark Times]. This unfortunate Skill is kind of like your Race in that it originally is one way, but then has a sealed form. Your race is a [Unicorn] that gets sealed into a [Human] form at night. But the [Dark Historian] Skill keeps you continuously sealed until you activate it¡± ¡°That doesn¡¯t seem like a curse, if I can choose when to unseal it.¡± ¡°I am not sure you WANT to unseal it. The only way to use the Skill is to¡do something you regret. [Dark Historian] forbids you to forget the things that make up your dark history, or the things you regret. This means, no matter what, you will forever hold these thoughts in your head.¡± ¡°Well¡I¡¯m sure that¡¯s not too much of a problem. After all, humans do many things they regret and learn to grow from it.¡± ¡°That is precisely it. [Dark Times] will not work if you accept that regret as a part of you. You will stay sealed as your Stats and Skills¡¯ effects will be halved. Only secrets you want no one to know will release the seal and give you a 450% increase to your Stats and Skills.¡± ¡°WHAT?! 450%?! That¡¯s a ton! That defeats any con there is!¡± ¡°But you can only activate this Skill if you add to your dark history.¡± Josh seems to freeze as realization hits him in the face. His deepest secrets he has never told anyone. Not his friend Katherine, not his mom, and not even his little sister Cyndi knew. He was a closet nerd. Of course he was smart, but he enjoyed playing foreign videogames, watching anime, and reading web novels and manga. Obviously, he would get a little over his head and imagine himself fighting alongside his favorite heroes. He would even imagine his own little world and act out within it. He knew if anyone in his family found out, sure, his mom and sister wouldn¡¯t treat any differently, but his friends were very against ¡®strangeness¡¯. Who knows how Katherine would react?! What about his other family members? He wouldn¡¯t hear the last of it! Josh didn¡¯t like conflict. In fact, even though he was so popular, he just wanted to get a good education in order to get a high paying job all just to support a life of doing nothing playing games, watching anime, and reading cool stories. Or rather, that was at first. Over time, Josh had realized he was growing up. He stuffed what he believed to be the dark history of his past into the far recesses of his mind, never to be seen again. He wanted to live with Katherine, have some children, and teach them football or baseball. His younger self had, by now, become a blemish. Sure, while here, he indulged his past self a little, but he didn¡¯t want to become HIM again. Anything but that. Josh was currently sitting on the soft sofa, sweating profusely. Dead Skeleton was still fidgeting because he knew that he himself had secrets he did not want known. ¡°Nope. Not that one. Anything but that one. Move on. What about my Special Skills?¡± ¡°Yes, let us move on. Only the Skills that did not start with a Skill will get the Top Three Skills. Every other Job will only get the Top Two. This poll will be held later and might have other Skills at that time. But for now, first up is [Pheromones]. This Skill will only come into effect when you become an adult. Your current forms are under your current age. This Skill will attract females of any race to you.¡± ¡°Won¡¯t I also be a girl?¡± ¡°That apparently does not matter to the Readers. The next Skill had to be changed because of copyright. The [Magic is Friendship] Skill raises the power of your spells for every companion nearby. In return, your companions will have an increase in power whenever they¡¯re near you.¡± ¡°¡I see¡¡± ¡°There is the [Navigate] Skill, which allows you to see a 3D map of your surroundings as well as shows you a world map of all that you have seen already.¡± ¡°That one¡¯s not bad.¡± ¡°Indeed. The next one is [Sharp Sight], which allows you to see in many different ways, the flow of mana, through illusions, and even has an appraisal function of sorts.¡± ¡°That¡¯s really OP.¡± ¡°Most of these are. And the last Skill for today is the [Gamble] Skill which gives you the chance to use a random Skill. You do not get to keep the random Skill, but you can use it for the period of the cooldown of [Gamble], which is one day, if you can. For example, you use [Gamble] and get [Fire Magic]. For 30 hours, or one day in the new world, you can use [Fire Magic].¡± ¡°Okay, that¡¯s not so bad¡I just hope¡nah, never mind. Whatever happens, happens.¡± == If you happen to have any good ideas about possible Skills, ideas about the world (which still needs a name), or anything else, let us know in the comment section! Thank you! Stumbling Through Stress *WARNING FOUL LANGUAGE* == Evil Ginger was cu-¡°SHUT THE FUCK UP! I don¡¯t give two shits about you, or that pretty boy. Leave me alone!¡± He was currently climbing over gigantic ferns, evading monstrous insects, animals, and even plants. ¡°Hehh¡maybe if I let you talk, you¡¯ll finish faster¡¡± Due to the shock of the sudden meteorite, Evil was not even sure if he got his three Special Skills. Having to rely on just his ingenuity, he hid from his predators and prey alike. It took no time at all before the world began to grow. Some places faster than others. These places were mana hotspots. These naturally occurring oases were very diverse with their different flora and fauna. Forests, Jungles, Swamps, and even the Green Sea, named for its massive tall blades of grass, were all but some of the different places on the planet. Evil was currently in the location known as the Jungle. Everything was bigger here. As well as hungrier. Evil had to fight to survive as a small [Chameleon], and the only major weapon he had was his [Camouflage]. ¡°Yeah, no thanks to you.¡± He had done pretty well for himself finally evolving to a [Saurian], one of the Reptilian Humanoid species. He was also a variant. To be precise, he had become a [Killer Chameleon]. His current level was an astounding 147, but no one had a good way of knowing for now. ¡°Hehe, the only things that can damage me now are those ten strange energies I feel¡¡± Besides not knowing his level, Evil could not allocate his remaining Stat Points and could not spend his Skill Points. ¡°Sheesh, guess that¡¯s the next thing on my list, huh?¡± At this time, Evil finally made it back to his cave. In it were several strange contraptions. ¡°You asshole. You know full well what these are. Thanks to my [Book of Innovative Discoveries] I brought, this world will progress even faster than normal! HAHA! A printing press, a water mill, and even my own brand of alcohol! I will create the first Kingdom, or Empire, or whatever! I will have every [Unicorn] hunted to extinction! That damn Joshie won¡¯t even realize what hit him! HAHAHA!¡± Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. Deep in the back of Evil¡¯s dwelling was a strange orange light that pulsated periodically. It was the meteorite. Nothing seemed to cut it. Not with Evil¡¯s Skills, anyway. ¡°Bullshit. Then why did you give it to me?¡± It has only been several thousand years, and yet, Evil Ginger has already become the first intelligent species. ¡°Wait, thousands of years? Are you doing something with the time? That¡¯s not normal¡¡± Evil Ginger did indeed have Special Skills. These included [Soul Body], which linked his body¡¯s life span to his own soul, [Slow Growth], which slows the evolutionary tendencies quite a bit until reaching the final stage of growth where Evil will gain a tremendous boost, and [Time Flies], a Skill that disorients the users sense of time. ¡°What the hell?! THAT¡¯S what¡¯s been going on?! You fucking asshole! I bet your own grandmother hates you!¡± Somewhere, on another plane of existence¡ ¡°So¡just gonna leave that there?¡± The Ten Gods smiled as they watched the world, betting on what species would be created next. ¡°HAAAH?! Gods?! Wait¡those stupid, energy, things were GODS?!¡± Evil Ginger was spot-on. There became Ten Major Hotspots throughout the world. These locations amassed enough energy to become sentient. With pure power at their disposal, these Oddities created a pact to not interfere with the world below unless their hotspot was threatened. ¡°Great¡fucking gods now¡ugh¡¡± == You guys better help me get some people to rule over! Bring on the cat ears and [Elf] girls! Gimme some [Dwarfs] to craft me good weapons! SOMETHING! I have been alone for 13,000 godsdamn years, apparently! And there¡¯s no fucking god damn NAME for this shithole! Step 2.75 Josh Hammott must be feeling nervous. After getting into high school, he never really got nervous. He understood hesitating led to mistakes. But he was never locked in a house with nowhere to go before. Josh had to sit and wait for what felt like years. Someone on the outside would think Josh was being childish. It was just something he did as a kid, right? Wrong. Everything someone does becomes a part of them. Even creating a fictional character and acting him out will lead to some parallel thought. Josh had become too in character. If that character were to resurface, he would die of shame. Even now, he still has to calmly wait and focus on what to say. From the door, Dead walked in. Finally, the moment of truth. ¡°It is okay, Josh. You did not get the [Dark Historian].¡± ¡°Whew! Dodged a bullet there.¡± ¡°But you did get the [Rainbowmancer].¡± ¡°¡Why¡¡± ¡°Josh, I know that you are disappointed, but you have a wonderful treasure. This space will allow you to try your Skills and magic in a safe environment.¡± ¡°How do I even use magic? All I have been practicing is how to move as a [Unicorn] and my [Charge] Skill.¡± ¡°Hmmm¡since we are talking about magic, which will involve the understanding of Skills and Skill Points, this works wonders for the Readers, who are voting on the Top Two Skills you start with. First, magic, just like any Skill, has a level. Some Skills only have five, while others have twenty. Once reaching (LV: MAX), Some Skills will evolve into a better Skill. For example, [Observe] will evolve to [Analyze]. Leveling up a Skill will add benefits to it. A (LV: 2) [Sight] will see farther than a (LV: 1) [Sight]. This is where your magic spells come in. Each level will grant a new spell. But, there are other things to know. Skills you start off with are called Primary Skills. Using a Skill Point on a Primary Skill will create a new Skill. You can do this three times for each Skill. These Skills created from Primary Skills are called Secondary Skills. Skill Points can only be used on these kinds of Skills once. Tertiary Skills, created from Secondary Skills, cannot be used with Skill Points. This system is strange, for you will not know what you will get. Usually the Secondary Skill is obviously related to the Primary Skill, but the Tertiary can be fused with other Skill Branches. Let us say you used Skill Points on your [Nature Magic]. You cannot use them on your actual spells since they are the same as Tertiary Skills. But after using the Skill Point, you created [Nature¡¯s Blessing]. Within a heavily planted area, you will see an increase in stats. By using a Skill Point on [Nature¡¯s Blessing], it might evolve using your [Rainbow Magic].¡± ¡°OOH! I see, so even if the magic seems iffy, it might become something amazing later?!¡± ¡°Yes. But unfortunately, you have no way of knowing what your first spells are. Yet, anyways. Right now, Evil Ginger has become a [King]. His [Kingdom] consists of some crazy, eccentric, and weird inventors. He used his gift, [Book of Innovative Discoveries].¡± ¡°So he also got the choice for a set within a something, or whatever it¡¯s called?¡± ¡°Indeed. As will I.¡± ¡°Huh?! You¡¯re leaving as well?¡± ¡°Not quite yet. Anyways, Evil is making way into discovering ways for people to use their Points and know their spells. I believe by now, he has created something like those Guild Cards you see in novels. Or is it an Orb? I do not remember, unluckily. But besides creating all these modern marvels, he is also trying to kill off all the [Unicorns]. Right now, there is a lot of trouble. Most other countries do not like Evil, calling him the [Tyrant King]. They tried hiding the [Unicorns], because of their purity and power, but when Evil found out, he went to war. Most countries will only turn a blind eye to the [Unicorns], now. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. Maybe in the later years, when progress slows, or war is not so prevalent, you can be born there. But the longer you wait, the less chances of you having a diverse amount of lives to choose to reincarnate into. What I am saying is, it is time to choose the time frame in which you are born into. Will it be a battle torn Warring States Period? Or will it be a sort of peaceful Medieval Era? How about an Industrial Revolutionary time? Steam Punk, possibly? Or how about a more modern time?¡± ¡°Wow¡that¡¯s a lot of choices¡¡± ¡°Indeed. The Readers have a long ways to go before any major events happen. The Creator did tell me something about a change¡but I do not think that will happen until you are reborn in the new world.¡± ¡°Ok¡umm¡how long will Evil live?¡± ¡°Hmm? I do not think he will die of old age, if that is what you are asking. He has a Special Skill that lets his body live as long as his soul.¡± ¡°How long is that?¡± ¡°Forever.¡± ¡°HUUH?!¡± ¡°He and I are strange. We had no bodies to begin with, so we are more like souls ourselves. Even if we did not choose a body, I doubt we would be troubled. If our body died, we would just get a new one.¡± ¡°I guess that means Evil will be trying his hardest to kill all the [Unicorns].¡± ¡°Not necessarily. The further in time you are born, there will be more chances of you living safely while young, although there will be less [Unicorns] for you to become. Right now, everyone is afraid of Evil, but soon, others will be able to fight him. He also has a difficulty perceiving time. This way, he might fall asleep for several hundred years and would not even know you were there.¡± ¡°How long will I live?¡± ¡°However long your body allows.¡± ¡°...So I start off mortal?¡± ¡°Indeed. Then, through training, you can live for several hundred, maybe even thousands, of years.¡± ¡°Wow¡¡± ¡°Speaking of life, I must be getting my own. I am pretty sure this one wants his body back.¡± ¡°??? What does that mean?¡± ¡°See you later, Josh. I must go and make sure Evil does not ruin the world.¡± ¡°Wait¡¡± At that moment, Dead began to glow green, as did his eyes. He was surrounded by the energy as it seemed to circle his body before flying through the ceiling. Josh looked back at Dead and saw his eyes were yellow again. ¡°Dead? What happened?¡± ¡°Whew~~. It¡¯s been awhile, although you probably don¡¯t remember me.¡± Dead¡¯s(?) tuxedo suit started to dissolve as it turned into some sort of mist, clinging to his bones. The black mist seemed to shroud the skeleton. Eventually, the mist transformed into a hooded cloak. He seemed more imposing, with his yellow eyes appearing to bore a hole into Josh¡¯s very soul. ¡°Who¡are you?¡± ¡°Why I am the Grim Reaper. Formerly known as Death.¡± == Hehehe, I, Death, will be presiding over Josh''s life, huh? Not that I care. Ever since this damn author wrote me into being, I have been drawing the short stick. Not anymore! Time to stretch these old bones and have some fun! Keep Trying Dead Skeleton was floating above the world just like Evil Ginger did many millennia before. Only, Dead was green, not red. Intelligent species always seemed to pop up like mushrooms, here and there among the 10 hotspots. But there were always exceptions. The exiles, refugees, and persecuted all fled from the safety of their peaceful lives and struck out towards the barren lands outside. But what awaited them was not arid, useless land without life. There was life. Many of these people set up shop, so to speak, and lived just like before. Some decided to get revenge on the inhabitants of the hotspots. And others kept going. These last few were magicians and scholars that questioned the way the world and magic worked. Sure, those inventions and those strange weapon of the Jungle¡¯s Army are labeled as taboo, but what was wrong with answering a few questions? One such man, a Professor James Edward Crowe, was trying to create a new species. He himself was a [Human], but in his studies of anatomy, which was frowned upon because of the need to desecrate corpses, he discovered [Humans] had faults. He discovered all life on this planet had faults. Key organs that if destroyed, would cause the owner to die. The spaces where the bones meet, or joints, could be taken advantage of and hinder movement. So Professor Crowe set out to create the perfect species. He knew magical creatures were closest to what he wanted. These creatures were different from animals and monsters. The creatures were like tiny gods, or guardians, of their respective origin. They only lasted as long as they had a good mana supply. Professor Crowe had made a breakthrough into summoning magic. Although he was a simple [Ground Mage], he had become able to recreate a living being, thanks to his studies. Using this newfound knowledge, he set to work immediately. He knew that blood was related to the use of magic. This led to the uniqueness of some people¡¯s magic. Using a magic creature he had captured, he had laid the foundations for a [Golem] of great magnificence. Luckily, it was a ground type creature that matched Crowe beautifully. He started to collect his own blood over time and once he had enough, he crystallized it into a core and place it in the [Golem]. Crowe had created a new species! The [Blood Stone Golem] was created! He had done it! At that moment, a crash could be heard outside. BOOOOM The shockwave knocked Professor Crowe on his to his backside. He was found out! The [Angels] must have found him! He rushed to activate his defensive spell, when the room started to shine. They were already here! Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Crowe hurriedly hid the [Golem], to insure its safety during the beginning sequence. ¡°Professor James Edward Crowe. Your actions have been deemed sacrilegious towards the 10 Gods. You have been judged as guilty.¡± What stood before the old man was a stunning woman, one with electric purple hair, long legs, fair skin, and a world class beauty. Not an [Angel], worse. A [Valkyrie]. Unlike [Angels], these females were created by the gods. Wielding the power of [Lightning Magic], this one helps care of the most dangerous problems facing the Gods. Her name, Julia Estabell. ¡°Professor James Edward Crowe, where is the abomination?¡± The shocking woman, as pretty as she was, only spoke in a deadpan voice. The beauty made the commoners easily welcome those like [Angels] and [Valkyries] and other such beings, but the Gods wanted obedience. These creatures had no free will. Thus, they were created. ¡°Hehe, you can¡¯t find my [Golem]? Wait¡I can¡¯t sense it either¡did it fail?¡± Crowe slid to the ground in defeat when he could not sense the magic power the [Golem] was supposed to give off. All lifeforms gave off a mana aura. This means he failed. And he was still going to die for it. ¡°If the atrocity is a failure, then so be it. Now for you.¡± The [Valkyrie] pointed towards Crowe as a purple energy seemed to glow around her finger. This energy had a far different feeling from the two Entities Evil and Dead. While they had a sort of ghostly quality, this power was like a light, radiating outwards with a brilliance that blinded Crowe. ¡°[Lightning Strike].¡± A level 9 spell. Using the very power of the heavens, The [Valkyrie] shot a purple lightning at Professor Crowe. It was so strong, he was instantly turned to ash. ¡°No lifeforms detected. Returning to base.¡± Due to their lack of will, they only follow their orders. It was pure luck that Vethre, the Goddess of Storms and Rain, was not paying attention and just told her to ¡®just make sure they¡¯re not alive anymore.¡¯ In the hidden alcove of Professor Crowe¡¯s lab, the [Golem] awoke. == What will the [Golem] get himself into? Will he come into contact with his twin, the now so-called [Tyrant King]? Or will he become a strong magic user? Will he stay looking like a monster you see in videogames? Will he get a cool name? ¡°T^T¡± Step 3 Josh Hammott must be - ¡±Quit it with that lame intro. Enough is enough.¡± ¡°What¡¯s going on, Grim?¡± ¡°Don¡¯t call me that, that¡¯s my cousin¡¯s name. He¡¯s an idiot. Just call me G.R., Death, or even Dog Food. That last one gets a laugh outta the kids before they¡you know. Huuh¡wow¡I just depressed myself.¡± ¡°Umm¡¡± ¡°Well, them¡¯s the works. You must be pretty confused, right?¡± ¡°Kind of. Dead did say something about taking over that body.¡± ¡°Ugh, the names this buttface came up with. A fa?ade that went too far and a skeleton that¡¯s never in the closet. These two get the chance to become a character but not any of the cool ones? This doofus needs to work on his thought process a little more.¡± ¡°Well, my question is, how did I meet you before?¡± ¡°Because you died, duh. I guess the author made you forget. It¡¯s me! The one and only Grim Reaper, right here.¡± ¡°Uhh¡right, sorry.¡± ¡°Well, this author probably wanted to have some sort of continue fairy in case you got a game over, or something. Not that I care.¡± ¡°Why is that?¡± ¡°Cause everyone¡¯s dead, that¡¯s why. Time has passed so long in your world, the apocalypse came and went.¡± ¡°What happened?¡± ¡°Sun blew up.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± ¡°Anyways, after my job was done, I was moved here. If you ever get the chance to bring your friends and family, I will be the one to help.¡± ¡°Okay, cool¡wait, we got off somewhere. What about my Skills?¡± ¡°Moving right along, eh? Well it seems you got the [Pheromones] Skill as well as the [Sharp Sight] Skill.¡± ¡°Ugh¡what is being attractive to women good for?¡± ¡°Hmm I don¡¯t know. I don¡¯t care, either. Probably cuz I never had that problem, I guess?¡± ¡°Great. Just great. These Readers sure have it in for me.¡± ¡°Look, kid. You need to approach this differently.¡± ¡°What do you mean?¡± ¡°People who fight what¡¯s coming to them rarely succeed. What you need to do is adapt to whatever happens. If you open a chest and out pops some poo on a stick, roll with it. Although, I feel like the author should follow these words as well.¡± ¡°Will that shitstick thing happen?¡± ¡°Probably. Some of the Readers¡¯ might want you to shove it up your sphincter since they want a smut story.¡± ¡°Ugh¡I¡¯m not doing that.¡± ¡°And you can choose not to. My suggestion, go use the training facility for all kinds of random encounters. You can also practice your cool new skills and magic.¡± ¡°Okay, I will.¡± ¡°Speaking of magic, I will tell you your first spells! You know what, let¡¯s just show you your Status.¡± ¡°My what? That¡¯s actually a thing?¡± ¡°Mhm. Apparently mana is actually some bacteria thingy. This way, one can read the energies they give off to accurately analyze something. It consumes stuff and then poops it out the exact same as it was, but with special properties. Kinda like Fl?bber, but without the eating and pooping.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t get that reference.¡± ¡°Haah¡You know, the bouncy green goo?¡± ¡°???¡± ¡°Never mind. Here is your Status.¡± == General Information: -- Name: Undefined Age: N/A Gender: Female Race: [Were-Unicorn] |Sealed| Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.Job: [Rainbowmancer] HP: 30/30 SP: 30/30 MP: 90/90 Stats: -- STR: 3 |4| END: 3 |4| INT: 9 |13| HIT: 3 |4| AGI: 3 |4| PER: 7 |10| LCK: 3 |4| CHR: 9 |13| Skills: -- [Charge] [LV: 1] [Pheromones] [LV: MAX] [Sharp Sight] [LV: MAX] Magic: -- [Nature Magic] [LV: 1] [Rainbow Magic] [LV: 1] Titles/Achievements/Blessings: -- (Curse of the Night) == ¡°Wow¡That¡¯s kind of cool.¡± ¡°Yeah, and now that you have [Sharp Sight], you can see this info, too. So¡can I use my [Sharp Sight] to read what these do?¡± ¡°Sure, you can.¡± ¡°Okay¡umm... [Sharp Sight]? WHOA!¡± All of a sudden, a gray window appears before Josh. -- [Charge]: An Active Skill that uses physical capabilities. Usually used by four-legged creatures to ram their opponents. Two-legged creatures who try to emulate the movements ultimately lose some power but gain speed in return. [Pheromones]: A Toggle Skill that can be turned on or off at will. Usually used to attract mates, this move can also debilitate enemies of the fairer sex. Those who have fallen to this Skill find themselves smitten with the user. Prolonged use is not suggested. [Sharp Sight]: A strange Skill that is both Active and Passive. The Passive part is the increased range of sight and spectrum. By using the Skill, one can see certain phenomenon that others cannot. This includes Status, energy waves, temperature, and X-Ray vision. The Active part pertains to analyzing the opponents, as this Skill will use all the information available to help. Cost is 10 SP and 10 MP [Nature¡¯s Magic]: A special magic branch that focuses on the flora surrounding the caster. [Grow Fast]: This Spell costs 10 MP and speeds up the growth of nearby plants. [Rainbow Magic]: A special magic that focuses on the refraction of light and the visual spectrum. [Red Wave]: This Spell costs 25 MP to use. The target¡¯s vision is flooded with red. This has a chance to [Enrage] the enemy, turning them berserk. Can be used on the caster to increase STR and END temporarily. These can range from defeating a local gang boss to destroying the King of an enemy Kingdom to something far greater. (Blessings): When the Gods are happy with an individual, they can grant their follower(s) special abilities or boosts. Besides the Ten Great Gods, there are many minor deities that can also grant power-ups. Likewise, when a God is unhappy, a curse may be placed. -- ¡°Dang, that [Rainbow Magic] isn¡¯t that bad. I don¡¯t like the curse, but I will need to practice this further in the training facility." ¡°Good lad. By the way, are you hungry, ¡®cause I¡¯m hungry. I got some chicken nuggets here.¡± ¡°Ooh, thanks.¡± And with that, the two got acquainted over fast food. ¡°Why have you been silent this entire time, huh?" "Not answering, huh¡Oh well. It looks like the world is coming along nicely, Josh.¡± ¡°Okay, cool.¡± ¡°Look forward to strange things, ahead.¡± ¡°Uhh¡okay.¡± == Welp. Time for some Questions. We are going to need a lot, so start sending them in. The author will look at ¡®em at all, and pick some for the Q/A coming up. Apparently, some good stuff is heading your way! Next time, maybe we can see Josh use his new abilities in person, eh? Stories From Around The World Hehe, before you start, looks like I have so many side stories backed up, that I thought I would post one more. Remember, the Q/A will be questions of things you don''t understand or some past details of an MC. It''s about time I introduce some more people! == Deep in the volcanic mountains of the Fiery Range, a pregnant [Fire Ferret] was hiding from her enemies. She darted to and fro, evading the glances of the bigger monsters around her. She had to move due to the fact that a [Lava Wyrm] had crushed her home. After running away, it caught sight of her and started to chase after her. She was not a simple creature, and if Josh were to see her, she would look like a red panda from his world mixed with a fox. She had the ears of a fox, big and fuzzy, she had the color configuration and facial structure of the red panda, and she had the sleek body type of her namesake. In the Fiery Range, the [Fire Ferret] was a low-leveled creature that others would normally eat. The sentient races did not, however. They would rather keep them as pets. Their power over fire was minimal and nothing noteworthy. However, their detection skills were phenomenal. Even without any actual Skills for detecting enemies, the [Fire Ferrets] had good smell, sight, and hearing. But even with these amazing senses, the little [Fire Ferret] was doomed. She had tried climbing towards the territory of the infamous [Firefeather Giant Birds] in order to leave the [Lava Wyrm], but to no avail. The [Lava Wyrm] ate her in one gulp. The worst part was she was still alive. But now the [Lava Wyrm] had disturbed one of the [Firefeather Giant Birds] and had to fight for its life. The battle raged on for the entire day until the [Firefeather Giant Bird] ate the [Lava Wyrm]. Unfortunately, even the gigantic bird died from its wounds. The unfortunate little [Ferret] was slowly losing consciousness until she realized she was giving birth! She had lost two of her babies, and her last one was so small. She could only cry in frustration at her children¡¯s demise. What a cruel world! She began to curse in her heart for her mate, who had died in an instant, back at home. Her last child was all she had left, but even that would not last. She looked over her baby and discovered the little female to have a birth mark on her forehead! It was the shape of a flame! What did this mean? She automatically felt the life of her baby girl dimming, as if she was linked to her daughter. With the last of her strength and power, she focused it unto her newly named daughter, Flare. She knew enough about the going ons of the sentient races. She has been alive for over 50 years, after all. Flare was her saving grace. Her signal for hope. She put every ounce of her power, life, and everything else into her. The flame-shaped birth mark started to glow a golden color, shining brightly. -- Several days later, some adventurers discovered the wreckage of the two beasts. But what surprised them, was that these two fire based monsters were charred black from the inside out! Whatever had done it was far gone. The two adventurers went back to report, but no one believed them. Who could? == Far from the chaos of the Fiery Range, in fact, far away from any of the ten hotspots, or Regions, as the inhabitants called them. Towards the Great North, the barren lands devoid of mana, there was a great city. This city, Romultan, was created on the coast of the Sea of Death, a part of the ocean containing a Region at the very bottom of the sea. The Sea of Death was aptly named for the gigantic monsters swimming in the ocean. These [Humans] who settled here were once part of the great Kingdom belonging to the [Tyrant]. No one amongst the other sentient races acknowledged his might ever since the Ten Great Gods banded together to defeat him. Or rather, his Kingdom. They had to wait till he fell asleep to go through with their plans. Since then, any Remnant from the Kingdom held a deep hatred for the Gods and the races they protected. A clear divide had shown itself among the inhabitants of this world. For example, the [Tyrant King] desired all [Unicorns] dead, but after the fall of the Kingdom, nobody hunted them. In fact, it became taboo to. A unique group of warriors became the [Guardians of the Unicorns]. But because of the hate for these people, the Remnants would kill any [Unicorn] on sight. Regardless of the consequences. Because of this, the Remnants were forced to live away from the safety of the Regions. But this mattered little to most Remnants. The only exceptions were the ones who were too strong. They were chased far beyond the bounty of mana filled lands. The Northern Warriors were one such group. The Great North only had dangerous monsters. There was no natural mana, so the land was not good for farming. The only way to get a good source of mana was to eat other creatures with mana. In an eat or be eaten land, strength was prioritized. Living at the coast gave most people an affinity to water and [Water Magic]. But one child wasn¡¯t. On the day of his birth, the sun was shining and the sky was bright. His parents were both [Sea Farers]. They traveled the nearby Sea of Death to gather riches, hunt for food, and navigate the surroundings. The sky began to darken out of nowhere and thunder began to rumble. Thankfully, the child¡¯s parents were not the only ones aboard. On this ship captained by the child¡¯s father, there was 30 strong men capable of fighting off a Titan level beast if necessary. But what awaited them was a Mythic level beast. With four levels in the basic tier, three in the special tier, two in the calamity tier, and the final Godly level, Mythic level beasts were just shy away from becoming a calamity. Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. No one on board, not even all of them put together, could challenge such a creature and live! So they fled. There was nothing wrong with that. These warriors were taught from birth to live to fight another day. But the monster caught sight of the boat and could not help sending a little going away present. Thunder trembled as lightning struck towards the ship! The captain¡¯s wife, a powerful Lightning Mage from another Remnant City, tried to steer the lightning in another direction. She had trouble since her baby son was on his way. Why a pregnant lady was on board, only she could tell you. She tried to circulate her mana to absorb some of the lightning, but was surprised when the power started to disappear. Her baby! He was the one absorbing the lightning! How? Soon, all of the remaining lightning was gone, giving the impression that the wife had absorbed it. ¡°Hehe, thanks, honey. Without you, we would have died!¡± ¡°¡±¡±¡±¡±YEAH!!!¡±¡±¡±¡±¡± All the men on board thought so as well. ¡°It wasn¡¯t me, dear.¡± ¡°Huh?¡± ¡°It was our baby¡he¡¯s! Aaugh! He¡¯s here!¡± ¡°Crap! The Doors Deep in the heart of the Jungle, at the location of the old Capital of the Fallen Kingdom, a tremor shook the surface. Underneath a pile of rubble, a tall dark green [Saurian] rose. The surrounding scavengers were scared out of their minds. ¡°What the hell?! Who¡¯s that?¡± ¡°Haven¡¯t seen him before¡¡± ¡°Does he have anything to do with the earthquake, just now?¡± ¡°How could he possibly-¡± ¡°ENOUGH!!! WHERE IS THIS?! He started shouting at no one in particular. ¡°You, what happened?¡± ¡°Huh? Me?¡± ¡°SHUT UP!¡± Poor Evil. How was he to know the Gods took advantage of his sleep to destroy his Kingdom, persecute his people, and condemn his teachings? ¡°WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.¡± The King was furious at the situation, after he heard it. Who would not get angry? Before him appeared a door. ¡°Huh? What¡¯s this?¡± What could be behind this door? Treasure? A way to fix his curse? ¡°Say no more, asshole. I understand. You want me to go in. Fine.¡± And so he opened the door and walked in, leaving the surrounding spectators surprised. == Somewhere far away in the Great North, where most of the King¡¯s Remnants remain, a solitary figure roamed the barren lands. He would stop at small villages and set up shop. He was a [Doctor]. But the clients were specially selected, and the payment was untraditional. He leered at the women, took the chance to feel them up. Most people wanted nothing to do with this strange looking person. He was a [Golem], but most referred to him as the Rock Man or {Perverted Doctor}. He had a suitcase filled with strange tools he used for his practices. It was called [Tons of Tools]. The suitcase was extremely heavy, but the [Doctor] could carry it for a while. Regardless of his tendencies, his gift is real. Anyone whom he visits receives top quality care and is fully healed. Only if there is a pretty lady to fondle. Most people would throw him out, but in the Great North, a healer was definitely needed. The inhabitants of the Regions would do nothing for them, while most people were too busy fighting to learn how to save other¡¯s lives. Today, just like any other day, he was walking along the path treaded by many people of the past, as they fled from discrimination. In front of him, on this Road of Grave Memories, a door appeared. ¡°Haah¡Finally. Enough with harassment. Should I go in?¡± He should probably enter. ¡°Alright.¡± And so in he went. == Deep in one of the Fiery Range¡¯s many volcanic mountains, a temple stood. This magnificent work was a tribute to the Minor Deity of the Fiery Range. Harfestus, the God of Harvest and Ceremony, ruled this quite literal hotspot. Because of the many followers of tradition and ceremonies, this temple was just one of many. This specific one, however, was a home to the [Fire Goddess]. She accepted delicious rare plants and animals in exchange for strange and new foods that tasted great. Many chefs hired bodyguards as guides to make way through the dangers. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. There were also those that were greedy. Three idiots stood in a huddle outside the temple. It was a small, simple temple that resembled Greek architecture. ¡°How should we do this, boss?¡± Idiot #1 said. ¡°I think we should at least check first.¡± Not Quite Idiot #2 interjected. ¡°Shaddup. If I says we are doing things this way, they will happen. This Goddess likes food, right? What happened?¡± Idiot 3. ¡°Looks like the shit hit the fan.¡± Clever Guy 2. ¡°Fuck.¡± Coward 3. Both of the men looked at each other and nodded. They pulled out their weapons and charged at the [Ferret]. ¡°AAARRGH!!!¡± Idiot After All 2. ¡°BUUUGYAAA!!!¡± Weirdo 3. People passing by later that day saw three strange ash piles close to the temple. But the newcomers did not get a chance to see the Goddess. Some other guys were saying that a weird door appeared and she left through it. == In Romultan, Lance was in an arena. It had been almost twelve years since he was reincarnated in this world. He still had questions about what was going on, but he focused more on getting stronger. His knowledge on how electricity worked was a great help in aiding him in his powers. He worked hard and gathered materials to make a Lightning Resistant Robe that helped him with his cultivation. In his previous world, he wanted to do anything he could to become a hero of sorts. He tried exercise, martial arts training, actually fighting gang members¡not. He was a gamer. Wanting the easy way out, he took all the knowledge on super heroes he knew and found an answer. Qi. He found Qi was actually called bioelectricity. Studying the further effects of electricity in the body, he discovered most of the body only moved because of it! The central nervous system was a good example. With the brain sending electronic signals everywhere, it was obvious electricity was important. Even memories were just synapses firing off signal patterns to ¡®remember¡¯. Now that he could control electricity, he had full control of his body! This meant a lot to warriors. He could react in an instant, think incredibly fast, and even enhance his strength! But better yet was incorporating his martial arts novel information into this world. He would infuse the lightning into his skin, muscles, organs, blood vessels, and even bones! The path was painful and difficult, but he did it! Now he could fight people twice his weight, age, and size with ease! After winning, he left to his champion¡¯s room. But upon opening the door, he discovered he was in a place he had never seen before. Step 3.5 NOT A Poll, But A Question For The Readers Nonetheless == Josh Hammott was practicing his new magic Spells in the training facility. He was trying his hardest to master his abilities, but while in this space, he could not level up himself or his Skills. But he still used his magic to further his understanding of his own aptitude. The [Grow Fast] Spell was obvious, as a flower growing near his feet went from several inches tall, to several feet tall in five short seconds! This Spell did not require as much MP as attack magic, but the usage of the Spell had enemies either entangled in vines and thorns, or running from massive man-eating plants. Josh just had to be wary of his location. If there were no plants around, what would grow? He also used his [Red Wave] Spell, and was surprised at the possibilities it had. On an enemy, the [Red Wave] would [Enrage] them, inflicting a Status Ailment. Josh assumed mastering the Spell would grant other side effects while the other Spells would have similar effects. Using [Red Wave] on himself, however, he got faster and stronger. It was like he was filled with power! The Josh of now could run laps around the Josh of old! Although, that is excluding the Beast Form. And even though he was practicing in his female body, he still referred to himself as ¡®he¡¯. He just couldn¡¯t fix it. At that point, Death walked in. Josh took this moment to use [Sharp Sight]. == General Information: -- Name: Death Level: 1 Age: Old Gender: Unknown Race: Undead Lich (?) Upon walking into the room, Josh noticed a gigantic circular table in the middle of a wide open space. Well, instead of a space, it was more like a huge room. Though there were no decorations, the room had a magnificent feeling. The table itself looked like it could withstand a good ol¡¯ Kam?hameha. But that was just a feeling Josh had. Surrounding the table were 6 chairs, made out of the same stuff as the table. Three of the chairs were filled already. These three people were placed every other seat, not sitting next to one another. In one chair, there was a massive lizard looking man with what looked like bat wings on his back and scales on his head shaped like horns. He was obviously a guy because he seemed to have a beard. He was dressed like a noble as well. His outfit was a strange mixture of ballroom attire with military clothes with casual wear. His scales and skin were a dark forest green color, while his outfit was a sandy yellow. A strange combination of lush green and dry yellow made his red book and brown book strap stand out. The being to his left was a slightly shorter humanoid rock man with pulsating red veins covering his body like tattoos. His face looked like he was asleep, but he turned and nodded as the two walked in. Next to him on the floor was a suitcase. His clothes resembled a man at work, a uniform. What kind, Josh did not know. If he had to guess, it was like an electrician¡¯s outfit mixed with a scientist. He was wearing what looked like a long over coat with a lot of pockets while the clothing underneath the coat was durable and long lasting. Rather, it was coarse clothing focused on necessity instead of appearance. The rock man was a muddy dark brown, almost black. This rock man may have been made of stone, but he resembled a human being. The red veins seemed to wind around his body like actual blood veins, and his garments were a faded blue. All of it looked like old blue denim jeans. Death took the seat in between the lizard man and rock man so Josh decided to sit next to the rock man and the other person. The other person was a young boy about ten or so years old. He had a vibrant red head of hair and was wearing headphones and bobbing his head up and down. He was wearing a strange white robe that had peculiar runic symbols on it. The young boy kept staring at Josh as if he was strange. Partly the reason Josh did not sit next to the lizard man was because the man in question was glaring at him. So he decided to sit next to the one not angry at him. After sitting down, Josh heard a strange yip sound and looked over to the empty chair. Two long fuzzy ears were popping out from under the table! The seat wasn¡¯t empty, no, the occupant of the chair was just too small to see normally! A strange looking raccoon ferret fox thing jumped across the table and stopped in front of Josh. The creature looked deeply at Josh¡¯s face, then proceeded to jump onto his shoulder, up his neck, and lay over his horn. Hmm? His horn? He was forced into his Moonlight form! He tried, but he couldn¡¯t change to his male form! ¡°No use trying, Joshie. Or should I say, Josie? Hahahahhhh¡never mind¡it¡¯s not funny anymore¡¡± The lizard man had a very hideous sneer across his face, quickly followed by slight disappointment. The young boy however, jumped and stared incredulously at Josh. ¡°Hmm? What a peculiar name.¡± The lizard man responded, ¡°Hehe, it¡¯s Josh¡¯s nickname I gave him.¡± ¡°What? Josh? HIM?! WHAT?!¡± The look in the boy¡¯s eyes were full of confusion, and Josh thought he saw some fear mixed in, too. Seeing this, the lizard man had a happy face, as if delighted in someone else¡¯s misery, and laughed. ¡°Hahaha, yep. Josh there, is a true blue boy on the inside.¡± Josh was more surprised at how the lizard man knew his name. ¡°How--¡± ¡°HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!¡± The young boy interjected loudly, more surprised than he ought to be. ¡°I get the feeling you''re a girl, and you look like one. No¡You definitely are a girl! My senses do not lie to me!¡± The rock man slowly nodded to himself, as if agreeing to the boy¡¯s words. He stopped mid nod and quietly started to appear to withdraw into his chair to become less obvious. ¡°Yes, I am a girl now, but I was a boy previously. I still think of myself as a guy, too. By the way, how do you know my name?¡± Not giving the weird boy anymore thought, Josh turned to the lizard man. The lizard man started chuckling, as if he was privy to an inside joke that no one knew, but it was the best one ever. ¡°That¡¯s cuz it¡¯s me, Evil!¡± ¡°Huh? Evil Ginger?¡± ¡°Wait, what? Who? The young boy, who was wallowing to himself, automatically shot to attention at the name. ¡°Hehe, it¡¯s not just me, Dead Skeleton is here, too!¡± ¡°What?! Dead Skeleton?!¡± ¡°What?! Dead Skeleton?!¡± ¡°Huh? You know him?¡± ¡°Huh? You know him?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°Not really.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± ¡°Huh?¡± ¡°Huh?¡± ¡°Okay, enough with this joke. Move on.¡± The lizard man, or Evil, was getting irritated at being ignored and not having as much an impact as Dead did. ¡°Going by these names will be troublesome, so we¡¯ll just go by what we¡¯re called in the other world.¡± Death took that pause to make a suggestion to everyone. But the young boy had other matters. ¡°I have no problem with that, but you¡¯re Death aren¡¯t you? And these two guys are named after my gaming accounts! What is the meaning of this?!¡± Josh was astonished. ''Was this the author?'' ¡°Hahaha, sorry kid.¡± ¡°The name¡¯s Lance. It sounds better than my old name.¡± ¡°I agree. But you were created. Just like the rest of us. In fact, both you and Josh here, came from the same world. I was tasked to bring you here. In your world, you did not create this novel and had no inclinations towards such a story.¡± ¡®So not the actual author but the author from my world?¡¯ ¡°But that makes no¡wait. I created myself? So that in a way, I could essentially experience what I wanted most? I guess that is possible. But it feels so weird.¡± ¡°That¡¯s correct.¡± ¡°What about the Fourth Wall?¡± ¡°What wall? Everyone but the little creature, which had taken the bag that was wrapped around its tail and pulled some food out to eat while still on top of Josh¡¯s head, and Dead let out a yell. While Dead did not yell, he did fidget slightly and the sleepy face seemed to scrunch up a little. ¡°But, first things first, you gotta meet your Readers! It¡¯s almost time for the Q/A!¡± ¡°Ohhhhooo no you don¡¯t. And since no one can die in this room, good luck!¡± ¡°Bullshit! I am nearly level 300!¡± ¡°And I am currently level 152, how did this happen?¡± The boy, Lance, was so strong? Evil and Josh both stared pretty hard at him to see if he was lying. ¡°That is not so bad. Many people I see nowadays are nearing level 400 and 500.¡± The words Dead had said nearly made Evil¡¯s eyes pop out. ¡°I wake up to find my Kingdom destroyed, my people gone, my levels reverted, and now there are people almost twice my previous level?! What is this shit?!¡± ¡°Do not worry, after leaving this room, you will regain your former Status. The fact that a few of these guys are essentially me, I am wondering if I need to pay a visit to a psychiatrist. And probably some anger management courses. Well, I am learning a bit about myself as we go, so no biggie. See you at the end of the chapter! == ¡°Before you moronic milk duds begin clobbering each other, let us answer some of these questions! Well¡If we had some questions that is.¡± ¡°HA! It looks like your little story doesn¡¯t have many viewers, huh?¡± ¡°Dang. One of my stories is doing terrible.¡± ¡°No, it¡¯s just not very many people are actually involved. It¡¯s just a story to most people. This entire concept is brand new for most people. I mean, how¡¯s a guide gonna help get this story written?¡± ¡°Hmm? What is that supposed to mean?¡± ¡°Many of the Readers believe that this story might not actually go anywhere. They probably look at just the polls and titles and say, ¡®What a dumb story¡¯. They might not even scroll down to read the actual chapter. Which is ridiculous.¡± ¡°So how do we fix it?¡± ¡°We have no need to. The polls were because of differing ideas. Josh, here, was the main point. What is Josh¡¯s race? No one is going to ultimately agree, but having you other guys join in fills the gaps.¡± ¡°Oh I see. Even if it doesn¡¯t get selected for the main character, it may still be used later in the story?¡± ¡°Precisely. The difficult part is stuff that can only be one way. Like the planet being a certain way, or the origin of the MC.¡± ¡°Right, me.¡± ¡°Correct. But from now on, as long as certain events do not contradict each other, all the Reader has to do is comment. If there do happen to be differing opinions, a poll will be created then. But from now on, those who travel with the MC will have to experience the Reader¡¯s decisions.¡± ¡°Okay, so what questions are there?¡± ¡°One Reader made a comment on how Josh might have been the poorest student in his grade.¡± ¡°Hah? There was at least 300 something kids besides me. How could I have been the worst?¡± ¡°They were probably just being sarcastic.¡± ¡°So why bring it up?¡± ¡°Because it pertains to Josh¡¯s past. Even if it has no relevance in the author¡¯s world, you know, since this is a story, people just love a good backstory.¡± ¡°But my past doesn¡¯t really matter.¡± ¡°It does if the Readers want to understand you.¡± The skeletal host checked his phone, as if he was checking something. ¡°Hmm, it says here that some people have no questions. Don¡¯t know how I feel about that, but maybe the story is progressing in a good way.¡± ¡°That phone connects to the internet?¡± ¡°Yep. It allows me to anonymously flame ne¡¯er-do-wells who don¡¯t even read the story.¡± ¡°Or maybe the Readers don¡¯t want this to continue.¡± ¡°You do realize, that would mean you all would cease to exist, right?¡± Everyone around the table began to recede a little. Even Flare bowed her head, as if in thought. ¡°I thought you two were representations of parts of the author. And you are the author from a different dimension, so to speak. You wouldn¡¯t really disappear, right?¡± This time, Dead Skeleton spoke up. ¡°That is true, but we are just like you. Characters in a story. If the story ends, so do we.¡± ¡°And that brings us to the monumental main part, the PURPOSE!¡± ¡°What it is we are going to do here?¡± ¡°Correct! It¡¯s not a game, if there is no prize! But you guys are, for all intents and purposes, alive here and now! Your previous worlds are gone, and some of you have already started to live the life. So what can we offer you to participate?¡± ¡°Servants.¡± ¡°Money.¡± ¡°Power.¡± ¡°My family.¡± Flare even sat up and held her bag up high. ¡°And I¡¯m guessing food?¡± Flare began nodding her head up and down. ¡°Well, each of you have different wants and needs. So how would we fix this? With Quests and Missions!¡± ¡°How on earth-¡± ¡°Ah ah ah! This planet is called Weria! Land of the werebeasts!¡± ¡°Weria?¡± ¡°Yep. All of its inhabitants belong to any of the Scalies, which holds the [Saurians], the [Fishfolk], and the [Amphibians]. Then there¡¯s Furries, or the [Beastkin], the Flappers, A.K.A. the [Avians], and the miscellaneous race called the [Enigmas]. The rest fall under monsters, beasts, and/or spirits. If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Each of the four major races has an initial form and then an evolved state. It¡¯s not really Darwin¡¯s evolution, more like Mega Ev?lution from P?Kemon.¡± ¡°What¡¯s with those names, they sound more like racial slurs, than actual identifying call outs.¡± ¡°That¡¯s because they are racial slurs, you twit.¡± ¡°Wow. I don¡¯t like you even more.¡± ¡°Ha, says the one who hates the world and all people in it.¡± ¡°Yeah, I hate people. But I don¡¯t think I am better than them. I hate myself just as much.¡± ¡°Whatever. Moving on, the [Enigmatic] race is the only race where their evolved state changes. These changes can be classified as either [Angelic] or [Demonic]. If they tend towards a more evil path, their form begins to darken and twist. There have been cases of decent [Demons] and horrible [Angels], but it doesn¡¯t happen often. What this means for you, Lance, is what you do impacts your true form. Keep killing, you might become a [Blood Demon] or something.¡± ¡°But all I kill are monsters. Does that mean no matter what I do, it changes me?¡± ¡°Yep. The true form shows the state of the heart and mind. If you have a hard time expressing your actual thoughts, the true form exposes them. Kinda like a Pers?na.¡± ¡°Video game references aside, this means the rest of us have a Beast form as well?¡± ¡°Absolutely. You have one, Dead has one, obviously Josh has one, and even Flare has one.¡° ¡°But I thought Flare counted as a monster?¡± ¡°When a monster becomes a Calamity level, they gain sentience. Flare¡¯s on her way to becoming a minor deity. How cool is that?¡± Josh stares at Flare with uncertain eyes, as if he were holding a bomb. In reply, Flare swished her tail in his face. ¡°Okay, back to the Missions and Quests. Missions will be something placed by the Readers and author. Quests will be given by the people of Weria. I guess like NPCs.¡± ¡°How do these work?¡± A gray window flashed before them. |Mission List: | |Rank S: Rescue the Princess*| |Rank B: Help the [Tyrant King] beat the Gods| |Rank B: Stop the [Tyrant King] with the Gods*| |Rank C: Become an A Rank adventurer| *Once a Mission or Quest with (*) is completed, it will disappear from the List* ¡°Okay, then.¡± ¡°Okay, then.¡± ¡°Okay, then.¡± ¡°I think I might have some questions now¡¡± == Hello, again! I hope you guys are actually reading this, I have been getting told the titles of my chapters are weird, and they couldn¡¯t determine which chapter is part of the story. Don¡¯t they know that if the chapter wasn¡¯t necessary to the story, I wouldn¡¯t have put it in? Oh well. I am going to incorporate a new style whenever I set up a poll. All votes will be documented and organized into a wheel. The Lottery Wheel! This means even if 30 people voted for a big stinkin¡¯ pile of moolah, if even 1 person voted for a big stinkin¡¯ pile of pooh, they have a chance of winning. All hail the Wheel! Right, whenever you want something to be placed into the Lottery, just type it in the comment section below and I will record it. I will organize the data into respectable categories that have even more choices. For example; Would be the category selected by the Wheel. Would be the item won from the Lottery. And don¡¯t ask about the ShitStick. The ShitStick is necessary. The ShitStick is truth. The ShitStick is the way. Anyone know a good shrink? Chaos Ensues Somewhere in a strange massive forest, densely packed with vibrant green colors and a humid temperament, no, that¡¯s a jungle. Somewhere in a strange massive jungle, a little female stood up. In the spot she was laying in before was a massive imprint of her tiny stature. ¡°Ugh, I just got chills. Is someone talking bad about me? Wait. Where am¡Who¡What¡What is going on? I don¡¯t remember anything! HELP! IS ANYONE THERE?¡± For the rest of the day, this little girl stumbled through the Jungle in a desperate search for any signs of life. For some reason, she was never attacked by the monsters that called the Jungle their home. Once the second sun fell over the horizon, she could see faint lights sparkling in the distance. With hope anew, she rushed to safety. When she exited the trees, she saw a massive fortress before her. Feeling relief in finding other people, she fell to the ground, happy and tired. ¡°Who goes there?¡± From the gates, a soldier decked out in metal armor walked forward. What he saw was a little girl who looked around 8 years old and wearing frilly clothing nobility would wear. ¡°Little Miss, are you okay?¡± ¡°Huh?!¡± Before the girl stood a strange man with fur covering his arms, hands, and most of his face. He didn¡¯t have a helmet that covered his face, it just covered the back and top of his head. This way, she could see his whiskery nose, the fuzzy ears, and the sharp toothy grin he gave in order to cheer her up. Of course she was surprised. She had never expected an actual cat man¡wait. Were cat men not real? One was standing before her! How could they not be real?! ¡°Where is this place?¡± ¡°You have come to the Fang Fortress. We had to change it a little to prepare for the awakening of the [Tyrant King].¡± ¡°Who? I don¡¯t remember anything.¡± ¡°Not even your name?¡± ¡°No.¡± The little girl began to get depressed, moping in her despair for not ha-©\ "I think I have a way to help. Come this way!" ¡°Hmm?¡± He led her to a strange platform off to the side of the main entrance into the fortress. ¡°This is an Identity Rune. A relic of the Fallen Kingdom. Most of the equipment from the Fallen Kingdom is blasphemous, but this Rune helped us quite a bit. Even the Gods were satisfied with its creation. Here, just step on it.¡± As she stood, the Rune began to glow a bright blue. On a pedestal in front of the soldier, blue words began to appear. The soldier began to shout out as some of the words became red. == Name: Reina Gender: Female Age: 70 Level: 1 Race: Job: [Mal no Prinsesa] == ¡°I don¡¯t know what the hell an [Exiled Fragment] is, but you thought you could trick me!¡± The soldier¡¯s expression changed. He grabbed his sword and called for backup. All of a sudden, Reina¡¯s face changed from surprise and innocence to a scowl filled with scorn and contempt. ¡°Che! You piss me off.¡± From somewhere in her mind, knowledge on special magic appeared. ¡°[Evil Touch]!¡± ¡°What! [Malice Magic]?! I thought that magic was lost with the [Mad Duke]!¡± The soldier quickly put his shield before him, but he felt no contact. Realizing he wasn¡¯t hit, he lowered his shield. ¡°Ha! I guess you aren¡¯t that good, if you missed from that far, witch!¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t miss. And don¡¯t call me a witch. I¡¯m obviously a [Princess]. The Rune even said so.¡± ¡°You mean that weird language?¡± ¡°Actually, it is made of three different languages.¡± ¡°Huh? Aack!¡± Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. The soldier felt a sharp, intense pain coming from his heart. He looked down to see a sword piercing his chest. ¡°Wha¡Derik? Why?¡± ¡°I told you I didn¡¯t miss. Besides, I¡¯m the {Princess of Malice}.¡± She cackled as she ran back into the Jungle followed by some soldiers. Derik was imprisoned for the night so the spell would wear off, but come morning, they found his body hung from the bars on his window. The authorities passed around wanted posters depicting a little girl with pink twin tails, a matching pink frilly dress, and pink eyes. |Wanted: Reina the {Princess of Malice}| |Rank: B Criminal for 10,000 Gold| |If sighted, watch out for her magic| |Do not be fooled, kill if necessary| |Return dead or alive to Fang Fortress| == In the calming Green Sea, a council convened to discuss the oncoming war the [Tyrant King] would bring. 10 elders sat together around a platform. This platform was raised in the center of the room, but the elders were sitting at throne like seats so there was no table. The thrones were facing the platform, upon which stood an eccentric gentleman in a bright, almost neon, orange outfit complete with a matching top hat and cane. ¡°My sources in the North tell me the young warrior genius Lance disappeared, too. This might mean Lance has been taken as well.¡± This sharply dressed man was the host of today¡¯s meeting. Thanks to Transport Runes, the elders can go to any major capital city in the world, as long as it too has a Transport Rune. Most elders would employ a host to speak for them whenever the meeting takes place in their city. They used to use different people, but this [Beastkin] was especially good at his job so now he hosted all the meetings. The elders might have become a little lazy, too. The elder of the Forest, an [Enigma] of the [Elf] breed, specialized in plants, spoke out, ¡°This means we have the [Tyrant King], a mighty being from our great grandparents bed time stories, the [Fire Goddess], an up and coming minor deity, and the [Lightning Martial Artist] Lance, a prodigy in understanding the body and Mana have all become connected. Not to mention that strange {Miracle Doctor} could also be included. Could this signify a new Era?¡± The dapper fellow in orange took off his top hat and started to pull something out of it. ¡°It says here that Dauthodos is expecting a helper from another dimension soon. It seems we are not the only ones witnessing a change.¡± The elders began to talk amongst themselves, wondering if this new comer will be a Valkyrie or maybe even something new. ¡°Speaking of Dauthodos, what do the Gods think of this predicament?¡± The dandy man began to bow, putting his hat back on head, his two long ears poking out of the holes conveniently placed for such fuzzy rabbit ears. ¡°The Gods are indeed speculating the coming dangers of the {Fallen King} and the possibility of Lance, the [Fire Goddess], and the [Rock Man] joining hands, but here¡¯s the question. If the [Fire Goddess] does join the [Tyrant], can¡¯t we just bribe her with more delicious food? Can we not try to make an agreement with Lance? Even the [Rock Man] desires money and some rumors indicate he has a thing for voluptuous women. We all know that these three are probably the least likely to wage war on the innocent.¡± The groovy guy twirled his cane, tapping the platform, and leaning on the cane emphasizing his oversized feet as he brought one over the other. As the elders pondered, Alecs Goodson began to step into a strange dance. It wasn¡¯t distracting, and it was far from noisy. His movements seemed to put the old men and women at ease. ¡°Does this mean someone else is pulling the strings?¡± Alecs immediately stopped at the words spoken by the elder of the Marshlands, a member of the [Amphibious] Race. ¡°Aha!¡± He cried out, standing at attention. His body, including his ears, became as straight as his cane. ¡°Could there be someone who could do such a thing as create an alternate space?¡± ¡°What do you mean?¡± The elder of the Sea of Death, a [Fishfolk], did not seem to catch on. ¡°Of course there can¡¯t be. How do you know these people are in another space?¡± ¡°Huhuhu, Lance himself is blessed by two Gods! They can tell where their champions are locate, after all. Now that they have lost connection, they must either be dead, or not within the Gods¡¯ range.¡± At these words, the elders were even more surprised. The elder of the Fairy Hills Region, an [Avian], stuttered out, ¡°W©\-who would b-©\be able to d-©\do something like that?¡± The sophisticated chap poked the bill of his hat up as he stared at the elder while leaning towards him, looking down on him and grinning with his hand resting on his chin with his thumb and index finger making a ¡Ì shape. ¡°Who else could have the power to do something the Gods couldn¡¯t? The Creator.¡± Q/A Pt. 2 It seems the Mission and Lottery Systems might be a good hit. Keep ¡®em coming! Just gonna push through with these next several chapters. After this week, Josh will be reborn! About God damn time, too. I am literally arguing with myself these days. BTW, beautified some of the previous chapters, although no real change occurred with the story. == ¡°Yes, what is the question?¡± ¡°This means we can all see these Missions? What about the Quests and Lottery winnings?¡± ¡°Only the Mission List is the same for everyone. Some people might receive a specific Mission of their own, and those will not be shown to others. Quests are received in person, so no one will have the exact same Quest List. And the stuff you win from Lottery will actually be showcased like in an MMO.¡± ¡°In what way?¡± ¡°Okay, then.¡± ¡°Right, can we get on with this? Or is there more?¡± Indeed, both the [Tyrant] and Lance were still standing on the table/arena. While Lance was still contemplating what he heard, he was also warming up to fight. One could tell the both of them were really reckless. Josh remembered [Rock Man] was also called a pervert which seemed to match with his initial impression of Lance, too. What was strange was that the [Tyrant] was really showy, while [Rock Man] was rather subdued. Lance seemed to be a strange mix of both. When he stuck out, he was the nail not hammered down. But when he was quiet and laid back, it was hard to notice him. But if you actually watched him, it was fascinating. He held himself upright, yet casual. He was powerful, thanks to seeing his Status, but he didn¡¯t look it. He was contradictory. He seemed to try too hard in appearing as if he didn¡¯t care about his appearance. But then Josh remembered Death¡¯s words. But the [Tyrant] didn¡¯t seem like he was pulling a fa?ade. That seemed more like [Rock Man] trying to not let his perverted side known. In fact, that fit him well. A fa?ade that went out of control. Could his habits of trying to fit into society created some sort of stress? In this world, people were more true to their feelings, what with the Beast Forms and all. And if the [Tyrant] was the skeleton never in the closet, could it have something to do with hating the world? Of course, having to stifle your true self would lead to a frustration, and he also said he hated himself, but this was getting confusing. ¡°Aww, why stop there? You were getting to the good part.¡± ¡°Heh? I was actually on the right path?¡± ¡°Hmm? What are you guys talking about?¡± ¡°You.¡± ¡°Hah?!¡± ¡°Enough. Let¡¯s fight!¡± ¡°Right!¡± Instead of activating their Magic or Skills, they punched each other, fists slamming together. ¡°Hoh? You¡¯re not that bad.¡± ¡°Heh, you¡¯re actually slightly stronger than me.¡± ¡°Hehe, but it seems you will outlast me.¡± ¡°Not to mention I¡¯m faster, too!¡± To prove his point, Lance began to run around the small arena with speed almost twice that of the [Tyrant]. ¡°Speed means nothing if you can¡¯t damage me!¡± ¡°Fine.¡± Lance stopped in front of the lizard King and started to glow. The air became full of static, as his hair made him look like he was becoming Super S?iyan or something. Seeing Lance set up an attack, the [Tyrant] readied his defense. ¡°[Tough Scales]!¡± ¡°[Plasma Arrow].¡± ¡°What? I don¡¯t remember you having that Skill. What happened?¡± Before Josh could tell what was going on, a purple arrow shot out from Lance¡¯s pointing index finger towards the [Tyrant] at high speeds. It stabbed through his defenses in an instant! The [Tyrant] instantly felt pain all over his body. ¡°Argh! What the shit?!¡± ¡°Heh, I made my own moves and Skills. The Skills I made were thanks to manipulating Electricity. I can create techniques of great power. I just had to focus my Lightning Qi and launch it straight out. Even if most of my Skills were removed, if I tried hard enough, I could recreate them. Besides, the extremely intense power of lightning spreads out upon contact. You have to be made of rubber or something not to be damaged.¡± ¡°Tch! Fine, if actual combat won¡¯t work, let¡¯s try something else!¡± The [Tyrant King] calmed down as he began to focus his attention straight at Lance. ¡°[Confuse], [Induce fear], [Bliss]!¡± All of a sudden, the air in the room became fuzzy and blurry, as Illusion Magic soared through the air, hurling towards Lance. He just calmly stood there and took it. ¡°What? Realizing your fate? Haha!¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t realize something created from me would be so clich¨¦.¡± ¡°Huh?!¡± Nothing had happened to Lance! ¡°I¡¯ve felt worse from the monsters that roam the Great North. Every monster there develops tricks to lure or weaken their prey. I had to build defenses to such attacks. Besides, attacks of these levels would be destroyed by a simple [Lightning Zone].¡± ¡°Dammit! Again!¡± ¡°Sure. Let¡¯s continue.¡± While the two kept fighting, Lance never once lost. Sure the [Tyrant King] was stronger and smarter, it meant nothing to such a terrifying and god defying existence as Lance! Of course, if they actually had their true strength, they might have killed everyone here. And Lance would have lost. No doubt. The Stats and amount of Skills would confuse anyone. Josh continued to feed Flare while [Rock Man] started to warm up. Death played on his phone, but ultimately did not pay attention to the brutal one sided destruction. Finally, Josh couldn¡¯t take it anymore. ¡°Why not stop there. He hasn¡¯t been able to even scratch you. You¡¯re too fast, you can last longer, and you have more Skills. What¡¯s the point of continuing this battle?¡± This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.¡°If he wishes to continue, that must mean he can see victory. Which means there might be a way that he can beat me.¡± ¡°What¡¯s with that clich¨¦d MC super hero mentality? I thought you were a pervert?¡± ¡°I am. I am also a battle junkie. If he manages to beat me, then there would be something for me to work on and fix. I¡¯m just being selfish, so don¡¯t think better of me.¡± Once Lance had realized Josh¡¯s male mentality, he decided to ignore his beauty detector and treat Josh as any normal guy. Or rather, he treated him too casually. ¡°Well forgive me for thinking you were good.¡± ¡®Huh? Am I really that upset at his attitude? Weird.¡¯ ¡°Huh¡fine. I quit. I give. Enough is enough.¡± ¡°I guess I¡¯m next. I¡¯m not really strong or fast, I just know a lot of Spells. Even then, I can only cast some of them.¡± ¡°No worries, let¡¯s go.¡± Although it was to be expected, everything the [Rock Man] used was smashed apart by Lance¡¯s attacks. ¡°I concede defeat.¡± ¡°Thanks for letting me see your Spells. They will help me make more attacks.¡± ¡°Great. Go ahead and get stronger. Whatever.¡± ¡°Yip!¡± From Josh¡¯s lap jumped Flare as she began to jump up to the arena. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s go.¡± Flare began to do a little work with her magic as she started to make fire appear in the air. ¡°Oh? You want to try your hardest Spell against mine? Sure.¡± ¡®He understood that?¡¯ The fire Flare created began to combine and hover around her tail. It took on a blackish color and turned demonic in appearance. Lance on the other hand gathered his magical power into a rod of electricity. As the two forms of magic took shape, Josh realized that this was [Black Fire] and [Lightning Lance]! Instead of throwing it, Lance rushed forward, with his lance in hand. Flare met him with a flick of her tail as the demonic flame came in contact with the [Lightning Lance]. The fire began to consume the very lance itself! Probably since it was made entirely out of Mana, it was obvious that this was no accident. Flare had an evil, if not mischievous grin. But that grin seemed to wash right off after the lance glowed a slight blue. The [Black Fire] was instantly burnt out into embers until dying out completely. What had happened? ¡°Haha! All I had to do was to not let the lance release any Mana. I realized after a bit what was going on.¡± ¡°That doesn¡¯t explain HOW you did it! What was that?!¡± Out of nowhere, a mature woman¡¯s voice rang out through the room. Everyone except Death stared at the little [Fire Ferret] who just spoke. After quickly recovering, Lance explained, although sheepishly, ¡°Well, the lance was created from a Spell originally, but manipulating the Electricity within it allows me to empower it further. All I had to do was absorb the Mana and all that would remain would be lightning.¡± ¡°And what about realizing what my [Black Fire] did so quickly?! Huh?!¡± Flare was angry. She spit and raved after her loss. ¡°Well, I had learned to adapt quickly while fighting for my life in the Great North.¡± ¡°The Great North this, the Great North that. Shut up! I wanted you to use magic for that exact purpose! What a cheater! I don¡¯t accept this! I want a rematch!¡± ¡°Hehehe, I guess 50 odd years can spoil a lady, huh?¡± Lance was just standing there scratching his head, wondering how he was going to resolve this problem. But before he could get anywhere, Josh decided to help out some and divert the attention away from him. ¡°I won¡¯t fight. There¡¯s no way I would win against anyone here. You all have a lot of Skills and Stat boosts. While I may be extremely skilled, I can¡¯t overcome such trying obstacles. Flare, did you want to continue eating? You left your bag here.¡± ¡°Hmph. I guess there¡¯s no need to deal with such a lowly cheater. Josh is a much better definition of character.¡± As Flare turned around to face Josh, Lance bowed slightly in his direction, in a silent form of gratitude. ¡°So who¡¯s next? It¡¯s obvious Lance won, but did no one else want to give it a go? Oh, I guess Josh also got last place, then, huh? Well that¡¯s no fun. I guess we¡¯ll have to have a penalty. Well, what did you want, Lance? Women, Spells, Skills?¡± ¡°Actually, can you take off a Skill?¡± ¡°I can. Or rather, the author can.¡± ¡°Then can you remove the [Tyrant¡¯s] [Time Flies]? If he didn¡¯t have that, he might have actually beat me. He also would have been given this by me, essentially. I feel really bad about that, and I wanted to fix it.¡± ¡°Okay, sure. But the author wants to know your real reason.¡± At first, the lizard King was about to cry for happiness, but upon hearing Death¡¯s reply, he couldn¡¯t help but be suspicious. ¡°Fine. I wanted it to be seen as ¡± ¡°Got it. It¡¯s done. 100 Mission Tokens have been given to you.¡± ¡°What?!¡± ¡°Come on!¡± ¡°Smart.¡± ¡°What a cheating bastard!¡± ¡°Hahaha! This is going to get interesting!¡± == Here I am! Listening to your comments! I might make some adjustments to your inputs like names and effects (although you might have already noticed that). Going over some of the Lottery Items, some appear to fit better in a different category. I will try my best to make them fit well, but this Lottery means all items have a chance! So list all the items you want, and can even be pets or companions! Although, let¡¯s not add more Copyright stuff, okay? Oh, and I¡¯m a dick, aren¡¯t I? Q/A Pt. 3 Being strange kinda puts one off, huh? Doesn¡¯t matter, I release a lot of stress writing this story. Lot of reducing my emotional baggage. But with the story actually arriving, my tension is rising! == Lance sat back down at his seat next to Josh, with Flare still hissing in anger towards him. He put his headphones back in his ears and started to drum his fingers on the table. ¡°Considering Lance is first and Josh is last, who¡¯s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th?¡± ¡°Tch! I don¡¯t think I or Rocky over there could last against that raccoon¡¯s fire at all.¡± ¡°I¡¯m a [Ferret].¡± ¡°Whatever. Don¡¯t complain, I¡¯m saying you¡¯re second.¡± ¡°Hmph.¡± The atmosphere between these players was awful. The [Tyrant] was grumpy, the [Rock Man] was pervy, Lance was too devious, Flare was spoilt rotten, and Josh was iffy. Josh was actually the tamest of the bunch, but if (s)he had actually fought with others when Spells and Skills were off limits, (s)he would have won hands down. Fighting OP MCs can do that to a person. A pirate, a ninja, an alien, a shinigami, and all sorts of other super mainstream shounen heroes would all be extremely hard to beat. But Josh had actually managed to do all sorts of previously thought impossible feats of strength. Things like the [Flash Step], [Finger Bullet], [Body Harden], and even stuff like [Air Jump] could be used by Josh. (S)he just did not have the necessary Stats to compete with such monsters. ¡°So what¡¯s my penalty?¡± ¡°Probably you will have memories and experiences of your childhood, but you will not be able to decide your fate. You pretty much get to be transmigrated into a [Unicorn].¡± ¡°I¡¯m not quite sure where the penalty is in that.¡± ¡°You will take control of Jessica Shutters, a [Were Unicorn] orphan raised by the nearby knights. Jessica will have her previous memories, and they will affect you. You shall now be gender confused.¡± ¡°Will it really work like that? I mean, a five year old versus an 18 year old won¡¯t amount to much.¡± ¡°You¡¯re forgetting that Jessica will have magic training. Her memories and emotions will be stronger as well. Don¡¯t just convince yourself that you will stay the way you¡¯ve always been. Even these guys changed a little upon arriving here. Take the [Tyrant], for example. He hates the world and himself, just like he said, but he became a King. The [Rock Man] was a closet pervert, so why pick a job that would make it hard for him to keep his urges under control? Let¡¯s not forget Flare and her lazy self.¡± ¡°Shut up!¡± ¡°And even Lance here has changed from the pathetic sack of shit he used to be.¡± ¡°Oi. What the fuck? Just cuz I have headphones in doesn¡¯t mean I can¡¯t hear you.¡± This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.¡°Good. Anyways, he used to be a lazy prick. Now he¡¯s an ambitious prick.¡± ¡°Of course. I can do anything I want here.¡± ¡°Exactly. You can become anyone you want. The [Tyrant] wants to change his ways, the [Rock Man] wants to act upon his desires-¡± ¡°NO! I want to try harder at NOT being a pervert! It¡¯s just too hard!¡± *snicker* ¡°Wow. So mature, smart one.¡± ¡°What? I needed a good ¡®That¡¯s what she said moment¡¯.¡± ¡°¡Anyways, Flare probably was too busy or tired to do what she wanted, but coming here changed what she wanted. She had no desire for whatever it was before, so she wanted to live an easy life.¡± ¡°Hmph! Don¡¯t act like you know me!¡± Flare actually curled around in Josh¡¯s (Jessica¡¯s) lap and covered her face with her tail, as if shutting out the words of the shitty skeleton. ¡°Whatever. If that doesn¡¯t work for you, I will just leave you with a curse. I guess it¡¯s time to end this for now. The door that leads here can be activated using the Mission System. Just press the green icon on the right.¡± The players took this chance to look at the Mission System. There was the Main Page that held information regarding the current Mission Tokens, Gold, and Chests. For Josh (Jessica), he had zeros across the board, er window¡ It was situated like a mobile game with tabs and colorful links leading to the Lottery and Shop Windows. There was a total of 5 Windows. Mission, Quest, Lottery, Shop, and Inventory. The Mission Window had the list of Missions available and if selected, would display more information on the Mission. Same for the Quest Window. The Lottery Window had several buttons to choose from and had pictures of different colored chests overflowing with treasure. The original Chests were the 1,000 MT, but there were Bronze, Silver, and even Gold Chests with higher prices. Bronze was 25,000 MT, Silver was 50,000 MT and Gold was 75,000 MT. This made it seem MT was going to be easy to acquire, but only just helping the [Tyrant] managed to come away with an astronomic amount of¡100 MT. How was anyone supposed to get that much?! It seemed that the Author¡¯s Lottery was the same way with Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Moving on to the Shop, Josh (Jessica) noticed that the Shop was . So was the Inventory. Josh (Jessica) was too engrossed in figuring out the System, and was startled when Flare jumped out of his (her) lap. (S)he looked up and saw the others leaving through doors similar to the door in his (her) space. ¡°You can use that green button on the Main Page to summon the door. Yours comes with a dial so you can select a destination. Now it¡¯s about time you left. Have a fun time!¡± And with that, Jessica was born. ¡°Yeesh. About damn time. Now I can leave and begin my life, too! So long, assholes!¡± The reaper left through his own door as well. The meeting room was quiet and peaceful. No one remained. Except several strange shadows still flickering along the walls. Valkyrie Chronicles Pt. 1 ¡°On the 13th day of Chaunmer, year 1894 of the Regional Alliance, at approximately 0815 hours, Valkyrie Agent Adia Mesbirn, under the special authority of Gurze, investigated reports of multiple Mythic level beast sightings. She had searched the location in question for 6 hours, but only found evidence of combat, with no beast in sight. At around 1453 hours, Agent Adia confirmed that there were no Mythic level beast alive within the vicinity of the location in the rumor. Agent Adia returned to base at 1823 hours in the same day.¡± Julia Estabell was looking over any strange reports. Vethre had given her leave for the day, but Julia was not one to slack off. She would often double check, or even triple check findings and reports to try and find similarities or links. ¡°That sounds like another report I just saw¡here it is.¡± She pulled a file out of the cabinet. While she was flipping through the file, another person walked in. It was another Valkyrie. One of Dauthodos¡¯ subordinates, Laria Silverfin. Agent Laria uses the souls of the dead to complete her objectives, so many of the other Valkyries tend to steer clear. It wasn¡¯t just Laria, even her other two partners used the corpses and life force as weapons. They were given the name of Reapers since they preferred eliminating their targets with some added torture. ¡°Hello, Agent Julia. Hard at work again?¡± ¡°Yes. One, these tasks are not going to complete themselves, and two, I am free today.¡± ¡°Usually that means you are free to rest or relax. It eases the burden on the mind and body.¡± ¡°Yes, but the worry that someone will need my help makes me too anxious to rest.¡± ¡°Hmm, I wish I could agree, but our new recruit in our sector has been good marks all across the board No need to worry about him.¡± ¡°His existence is questionable. I do not trust that [Grim Reaper].¡± ¡°Neither do I. He doesn¡¯t completely obey orders and does not tell the truth in his reports. But no one has found any evidence of him doing so.¡± Julia put down the file in her hands into a crate she had set aside. She closed the cabinet drawer and picked up the crate. As she walked out of the Report Room, she continued, ¡°How do you know he did it if there was no evidence?¡± ¡°Because I saw him do it.¡± ¡°Then tell the people in charge. Everyone knows we cannot lie.¡± ¡°True, but for some reason, whenever I try, our leaders claim he can do so and that they trust him.¡± ¡°If the Gods are fine, then there must not be a problem.¡± ¡°Yes. You¡¯re right. What seems to be the deal with these reports?¡± As they both walked back into the work area, Julia placed the crate at her desk and replied, ¡°I have found reports detailing sightings of beasts at the Mythic level in the Great North. If these beasts are allowed to roam free, they will begin to tread into the Gods¡¯ territories. But by the time an agent arrives on scene, the beasts are already gone.¡± ¡°Maybe they fought each other?¡± ¡°Maybe. I am going to nearby villages to see if anyone saw something.¡± ¡°Good luck, see you later, Agent Julia.¡± ¡°I will be back shortly, Agent Laria.¡± --Several hours later, Julia was soaring over the clouds. ¡°Hmm¡Snyder Village seems to be in range of most of the reports and even sent one in. I shall start here.¡± Flying down, Julia approached the small village. In the village chief¡¯s house at that same moment, ¡°What do you mean, another Mystic beast has appeared?!¡± ¡°We just had one 5 years ago!¡± ¡°Another one so soon?¡± ¡°We don¡¯t have money to send a messenger, much less pay the request fee!¡± ¡°Everyone, calm down! Now Stefan, are you sure you saw a Mythic level monster?¡± A little boy in ragged clothes and covered in mud was shaking as he was brought to the center of everyone¡¯s attention. ¡°Uhh¡Yes. It was surrounded by 3 Titans and was on even ground!¡± ¡°3 Titans?!¡± ¡°Not more monsters!¡± ¡°What¡¯s going to happen to our village?!¡± ¡°Everyone SHUT THE-¡± At that moment, the door to the chief¡¯s house slammed open, cutting him off before finishing his sentence. ¡°Chief! A Valkyrie is coming!¡± ¡°¡±¡±¡±¡±WHAT??!!¡±¡±¡±¡±¡± Behind the young man walked in a beautiful [Human] like being. She had striking purple hair that matched her eyes, she was wearing a navy blue colored uniform with white pants. Her hair was put into a ponytail and her wings could be seen behind her. They appeared to be made of metal, yet at the same time made of feathers. The glossy grey wing materials fluttered and swayed in the wind, making it hard to think that her wings were metal. While most of the men were caught in a stupor, several of the men¡¯s wives pinched them back to reality. ¡°Yeowch! What the hell was that for, woman?¡± The chief¡¯s wife just stared coldly back at him, unmoving. ¡°Ahem, sorry about that. What brings you here today, Madam Valkyrie?¡± Of course she was not here for them. No one else knew about the beast but them. Even if the Valkyries were employed by the Gods, they weren¡¯t omniscient. She must have come here for something else. ¡°I, Agent Julia Estabell, under the authority of Vethre, Goddess of Storm and Rain, have come to ask questions about the appearance of Mythic level beasts in the area.¡± ¡°What?! Uhh¡umm¡we actually had a sighting a few minutes ago! If Madam-¡± ¡°Where.¡± It wasn¡¯t a question. It was a command. The chief looked back at Stefan and motioned for him to walk forward. ¡°This is the boy who saw the beast. He can take you there.¡± ¡°No need. Just point.¡± The two walked outside, followed by everyone else. After pointing the way, Julia¡¯s wings spread out and she flew at high speed toward the Mythic level beast. Not even five minutes late, she arrived¡to a corpse. Rather, four corpses. 3 Titan level beasts and 1 Mythic level beast. All of the monsters were charred and smoking. In the center of the chaos stood a young boy approximately 12 or 13 years of age. ¡°[Analyze]¡± == Race: [Human] Gender: Male Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Is he supposed to be kept secret? A human being this tough at such an age will definitely be a hidden weapon. What did he do to get so strong?¡¯ At that moment, her display was going crazy. <@#¦Â?¦È¦Ì> ¡°DAMN!¡± Julia fell to ground and could not get back up. ¡°Oops, sorry about that. I felt something weird and probed it out. Are you okay?¡± The boy had stood up after carving up the beasts and was now walking up to her. He wasn¡¯t that old, but the look in his eyes showed more maturity than those 2 times his age. A little perplexed at the situation¡wait¡perplexed? She doesn¡¯t get perplexed. She doesn¡¯t get confused or angry, sad or happy. What is going on? Julia started to feel a lot of strange emotions. She knew what they were, sure. She had a whole memory dedicated to emotions. It allowed her to understand the lesser races and their body languages. In her head, she was experiencing confusion, rage, shock, but most of all, fear. She had no way of knowing what this boy wanted. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? Can you speak?¡± The boy seemed to have a shocked expression as he began to walk towards Julia. She had unconsciously stepped back away from him, causing him to pause. ¡°Sorry, I really didn¡¯t know that would happen. I sent a little Qi to test the waters, so to speak. I wanted to know what you¡¯re made of. Literally, I guess. Hehe.¡± Julia had to calm down for a while before she was ready to talk. ¡°What did you do to me?¡± ¡°I think I may have severed the God¡¯s control over you.¡± ¡°How?! We Valkyries are supposed to die if that happens!¡± ¡°Yeah, normally. But due to your use of Lightning abilities, you are now in control of you.¡± ¡°What do you mean?¡± ¡°This may take a while.¡± -- About an hour later, a young man and an extremely confused Valkyrie were sitting at a fire the boy set up. The corpses were gone, the boy must have some sort of [Box] Skill or something he put them into. He was cooking a simple roast, but with Julia¡¯s massive data base on all kinds of information, she had never seen or heard about this type of culinary creation in front of her. The boy used the roast as a sort of example on how electricity flowed through the body, sending signals from the brain. ¡°How come no one ever found this out? This information could help many people reconnect lost appendages or recall lost memories!¡± ¡°The reason no one knows is because you guys killed ¡®em all. With that kind of power, one can even brainwash someone, bypass the limits of the body, and even use the power of Gods.¡± ¡°Oh. I guess that makes sense.¡± ¡°Yeah, your Gods get rid of anything that could destroy their high horse or comfy cushion. You haven¡¯t realized?¡± At this, Julia could not help but to shake her head in defeat. She realized that she might have killed people who would have saved millions of lives, besides just killing people who would have only killed hundreds. Out of nowhere, a yell could be heard from above. ¡°Agent Julia Estabell! It is I, Agent Laria Silverfin, I have come to find your whereabouts!¡± Her fierce outcry was immediately followed by a sort of broken whimpering. ¡°Oh no¡Julia, what could have happened to you?¡± Valkyries were not completely devoid of emotion. They feared their death just like any normal being. This fear was an instinct to survive, and led to different emotions as well. Normally, Laria would never say such a thing. There was no need. She knew that if the connection broke, the Valkyrie was dead. Yet she felt a loss for some reason. Even if Valkyries were all expressionless in their free time, they had their habits. Valkyries spent their time saving people and defeating bad guys. What were bad guys? People who did bad things. Laria and her cohorts were considered ¡®bad guys¡¯ in the eyes of most civilians. This led to an unconscious separation from other Valkyries. One exception was Julia. She was too into her job, too busy to care about others. It wasn¡¯t like she kicked others away, she just did not find their presence necessary. Laria caught on and she would always approach Julia when she had a significant reason, like an order, the going ons of targets, and happenings within the precinct. This led to Julia remembering her. Unbeknownst to her, Julia actually enjoyed these little ¡®gossip talks¡¯. Not only was it information and important data, she had gained social contact. The two became friends without even realizing it. At the time of the severing of Julia¡¯s signal, Laria was the only one nearby and rushed off as soon as she could. Now she was filled with terror at the thought of something being able to kill a Valkyrie and some of her unconscious exited her system. Even she was surprised at her own current state. ¡°Oh? Seems like a friend of yours is here. Shall we say hi?¡± Valkyrie Chronicles Pt. 2 Lance¡¯s POV -- Pssh, as if all I did was interfere with the signal. Bullshit. A pretty lady like this, blind to her actions? I must save her! Aww who am I kidding. I just wanna convince her I am ¡®helping¡¯ and get closer to her. I actually didn¡¯t realize my tampering and rearranging her control over body cut her connection with Vethre. That lady¡¯s gonna be mad, huh. Why didn¡¯t I just fully control her? That¡¯s boring. And sad. I would like the girl I¡¯m with to enjoy my company, after all. If she¡¯s nothing but a slave, I would feel guilty every time I saw her. Yeah yeah, I could just do my ¡®business¡¯ and rewrite her memory and make it so she never knew it happened, right? Wrong. She has power over lightning as well. Once she becomes more able to use her powers, she would eventually figure out what happened. Sure she may not remember, but her body will. Just because I rewired her thinking doesn¡¯t mean I completely erased what was there before. The electric signals leave an imprint. Like a groove on a record disk. The electric signals are like the needle. Every time the needle hits the groove, a sound is played. Every time the signal hits the imprint, a memory or action is brought up. Maybe I should just make a school with all the teachings about the body? I can even ask [Rock Man] for help. Oh but maybe I shouldn¡¯t ignore the pretty black haired elder lady in front of me. She actually reminds me of one of those Japanese dolls with the bowl cut like hairstyle. She is not voluptuous or flat. She is adequate. She holds herself like a dancer or actress. Someone who would stand on stage or be the center of attention. But I also get a spooky vibe from her. It¡¯s not the full black outfit that looks like assassin garb, either! She must work for Dauthodos. That depressing lady needs someone. She was supposed to be with Gensai, but he left her for Lubrha, or something like that. Never payed attention to the stories of the Gods all that well. Comes with being a Remnant. Speaking of Remnant, I wonder how the [Tyrant] is doing? == Julia¡¯s POV -- The boy was silent, but he wasn¡¯t scared at all. Two Valkyries and he was still so calm?! Calm down. Let¡¯s first get Laria¡¯s attention. ¡°Laria! I¡¯m okay! Over here!¡± ¡°JULIA?! OH MY GOODNESS YOU¡¯RE OKAY!!!¡± ¡°Oomph!¡± Ouch! She barreled right into me! Was she really that happy to see me? She seems kind of odd, for some reason. ¡°Wuuah! I thought you died! Wahh!!!¡± Great. She¡¯s crying. What¡¯s going on? ¡°Hey, boy. Did you do something to Laria?¡± ¡°Hmm? No? More like, this seems to be the first time she feels ¡®relieved¡¯. Relief is a powerful feeling. It can even stop your will to fight. I thought I might have actually had a fight there.¡± ¡°Uwah¡*sniff*¡Who are you?¡± ¡°Ahem. I am Lance Faltian. Champion of Vethre and Gurze. And I may have accidentally caused the disturbance with uh, Julia¡¯s connection. Julia, right? And Laria? Hope I got that right.¡± ¡°Yes. Thanks for your¡well¡no. Good bye.¡± ¡°Eh? What did I do?¡± ¡°That¡¯s exactly it. You, albeit on accident, did disturb a Valkyrie doing her job. I should be hauling you in for interrogation.¡± ¡°It would be best not to do that.¡± Laria, who was laying on my lap still sobbing, started upon hearing Vethre coming from her pocket. The boy Lance just looked quizzically towards her but with eyes not focusing on the bag. Strange, it seems he - oh. He¡¯s thinking dirty thoughts. Why do I feel angry? We were created with the sole purpose of gathering attention. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. Enough about that. ¡°Madam Vethre, I apologize for the delay.¡± ¡°No need to tell me. I felt Lance¡¯s energy just before your signal disappeared. And I doubt someone like Lance would actually kill a Valkyrie. It¡¯s against his¡style. Just report back to me tonight and maybe we can fix the signal. I will speak with you further on these cases. See you back at base.¡± With the communication ended, Laria stood back up with all her previous dedicated self. She still seemed to be embarrassed because of her actions, but I will speak with her later. ¡°Lance Faltian, I, Julia Estabell, Agent under the authority of Vethre -¡± ¡°Yeah, I get it. Since you now know who I am, it shouldn¡¯t be that difficult to find me again, right? Just ask a nearby God of Storm and Rain and they will point the way. See you ladies later!¡± He tried to look cool while saying his farewells, once he turned around, Laria and I both looked at each other and confirmed. He is a pervert. He never once seemed to look us in the eyes. Regardless of his personality, he was still strong. We both were nowhere near his level. Later back at base, I went into Vethre¡¯s office. Unlike some of the Valkyrie¡¯s cubicles, Vethre¡¯s office was extremely clean. Julia for the first time realized how ironic a Goddess of Storms would be clutter free. ¡°Yes Madam?¡± Vethre looked up from some files and gestured to the seat before her. ¡°Have a seat. That brat is definitely one to cause people to faint. He¡¯s a monster!¡± ¡°But the indicators said he was human?¡± ¡°Uhh, sorry. He is unlike normal humans. There are certain people in this world that have garnered the attention of the Gods. Obviously the [Tyrant King] and the [Rock Man] are both definitive targets, but they also share similarities to the [Fire Goddess], Lance, and even the newbie working for Dauthodos, Death.¡± ¡°Death? What a presumptuous name.¡± ¡°Hoh? How strange. Is that also Lance''s doing?¡± ¡°Nothing dangerous. What are the similarities between these people?¡± ¡°One of these days, you will need to learn how to look after yourself. After this, you tell me what he did.¡± Vethre picked up the folder on her desk and straightened it up before handing it to me. ¡°All these characters had a special item. The [Tyrant] has a book on technological advances, the [Rock Man] has a suitcase of doctor¡¯s tools, the [Fire Goddess] has a bag of never ending food, Lance has a strange musical item, and Death has a device that allows him to contact another world.¡± ¡°Whoa. Each of those items would cause a war.¡± ¡°Exactly. Their strength is not to be underestimated. These five also hold amazing powers not even heard of, along with having an energy not of this world.¡± ¡°Why are you telling me this?¡± ¡°We found another energy source. Actually, we found two. One is in the Jungle, one is in the Green Sea. This energy is all we have to go on to try and figure out where they are.¡± ¡°So you want me to and find one?¡± ¡°Yes. I want to send you to the Jungle. We are having trouble enough as it is, what with the [Tyrant] seeming to have fixed his curse. If another of those entities joins him, we will be even harder pressed to defeat him.¡± ¡°Yes Madam! I shall go immediately!¡± ¡°Now now, don¡¯t forget you have to tell me somethings. And afterwards, we¡¯ll see if we can reconnect you to the tracer system.¡± ¡°Okay. So first¡¡± More Stories ¡°Ugh. First day on the job and I have garbage duty.¡± Death was in the Underplane. This location was Dauthodos¡¯ domain. In it, departed souls and spirits are sent to perform in different places. They must complete several thousands of years of labor before having their soul cleansed and reincarnated. It was Death¡¯s job to filter these people and decide their sector. ¡°You look like a big tough guy, go do some heavy lifting down in Devil Land. Hmm? A smart looking fellow, head to the Tipsy Trail. Aaand¡a doctor?¡± ¡°Uhh, no. I am Professor James Edward Crowe.¡± ¡°Says here you were judged guilty as a traitorous heathen.¡± The frail man stared at the scary skeleton in a black robe before him with fear in his eyes. He had been waiting for what felt like eons. ¡°Yes¡Yes I had created a new species of [Golem].¡± ¡°It didn¡¯t happen to be the [Bloodstone Golem] did it?¡± ¡°Indeed!¡± ¡°Heh, off to the Boiler Room for you, Doctor Raven.¡± ¡°Uhh it¡¯s - AAAAUGH!!!¡± ¡°Whatever. I have too many people to go through to deal with just one person specifically.¡± And so Death kept processing person after person, until an [Avian], an [Amphibious], and a [Beastkin] appeared. The [Avian] was of the [Parakeet] family, with a blue fauxhawk hairstyle. The [Amphibious] was a [Muddy Salamander] with an overall brown complexion with darker brown speckles covering his snout and arms. The [Beastkin] was a common [Wolf Man] with gray blue wolf ears and tail. Before Death could say anything, the three burst out, ¡°Hello! I am Bill!¡± [Beastkin] ¡°I am Phil!¡± [Avian] ¡°And I¡¯m Greg.¡± [Amphibious] ¡°Uhh, okay? It says here on my handy dandy Death Book that one of you died trying to kick a [Fire Ferret]. The other two died trying to avenge him. I take it that Greg here is the leader?¡± ¡°Hmm? Why would you say that? Bill is the leader. I just stick out.¡± ¡°Ooookay. Then are you the one who kicked the [Ferret]?¡± ¡°Nope.¡± ¡°Alright then. Go have fun in the Lava Pits.¡± ¡°¡±¡±WAAAIT!!!¡±¡±¡± ¡°Buh bye.¡± After completing some more monotonous work, two [Beastkin] of the [Feline] family approached. Again, before Death could begin, the two spoke out. ¡°Greetings, I am Derik.¡± ¡°And I, Erik.¡± ¡°We are brothers.¡± ¡°We are brothers.¡± ¡°Hah¡Yes, where Derik here killed his brother then committed suicide. Did I get that right?¡± ¡°Ugh, well, yes but¡± ¡°Nope. Go clean the Gastric Gallows.¡± And the two were gone. ¡°This job is boring. It¡¯s a good thing I have Y?utube.¡± This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. == In the Great North, a [Golem] walked on. He was poking the air in front of him, drawing strange attention from the other travelers. ¡°Dammit. Stop making me out to be so weird.¡± It was a good thing Experiment 001 was checking the Mission List, otherwise he would have missed the Mission to help build a school. ¡°Wait, what? Oh, there is one! It seems that anyone can help make it. In fact, even if I were to complete it, someone else can do the Mission, too! Guess that works.¡± If he knew Lance wanted his help, would he go assist the young man? ¡°Hmm¡that¡¯s a thought. The guy is so devious, it just might work. I guess I¡¯ll head to Romultan City.¡± == On the outskirts of the Fiery Range, a little [Fire Ferret] was walking. She seemed to be headed in a specific direction along the way. Even though she was a monster, it was inevitable that she would meet company along the way. They weren¡¯t people, but other monsters. Before the [Ferret] was a pack of wild [Tree Wolves]. They were actually rather small, for monster wolves, but they could fly through the trees and leaves like water. Because of this advantage, even the [Fire Goddess] would become annoyed. That day, the domain of the Fiery Range grew larger as an entire forest was found completely razed to the ground. == In the Jungle, a strange couple had formed. Not like a romantic couple, but many rumors did start up. Because the [Tyrant] was in the Jungle fighting the soldiers, he eventually came across the [Pink Loli] on the run. After meeting up, the forces they faced combined as their worries were now the same. The two worked together becoming the {Fallen King} and the {Mad Princess}. These two laid waste to any and all enemies in their path. It was on one of these paths that the two were now fighting. ¡°So Timmy, how many have you killed?¡± ¡°Argh, I get angry every time I realize my name is stuck as Timpani. I¡¯m not a Drag?nBall character!¡± ¡°Hehe, when we first met, you even looked like Tamb?urine! Aha! Gotcha!¡± ¡°AAUGH! Let me go, you bitch!¡± At that moment, the soldier in Reina¡¯s hands exploded as claws tore through his chest. ¡°If you¡¯re going to kill them, do it fast. That way they shut up faster.¡± ¡°Hahaha! That¡¯s my Timmy! Always helping me out!¡± ¡°Sure. Whatever. Let¡¯s just finish this and go. I¡¯m hungry.¡± The lizard man had evolved once more. No longer a lizard, he had become an [Imoogi]. A fake [Dragon]. He had finally obtained his much desired [Breath] attack, and even figured out how to use his meteorite. ¡°Pssh, it was just used for expanding the rate at which growth happens. Putting it in my Mission List Inventory allowed me to use it at all times. Thanks to this, I was able to evolve earlier than normal.¡± Good thing, too, since the Gods tried to pull out all the stops on stopping these two. Once word of Timpani¡¯s awakening was spread, many of his followers swarmed to him, hoping to enact revenge on the Gods. Of course, there more that stayed behind. These people were all led by the {Miracle Doctor} and Lance Faltian. A new Empire was born under their allegiance, the Great Northern Empire. They stayed to themselves, never getting involved with the Region Alliance or the Kingdom. The Emperor was decided by strength and military prowess. Many new ideas began to pop up thanks to Lance, Doctor Dirt, and Timpani. The Gods were once again having to go to war. ¡°Wait, Doctor Dirt?! Come on! First was [Rock Man], and now Dr. Dirt?¡± Yiss, Another Poll... Hello, people oops hold on... There we go. You didn''t see anything. Anyways, this story will now be heading to the story. I just wanted to ask you guys how you wanted the releases.
  1. first up is keep it normal with one main story chapter a week and one side story chapter four days later
  2. get rid of the side stories, just one chapter a week (Why?)
  3. make it two main story chapters a week
  4. just post a chapter a day, it''s not like we actually want to interact with the story
  5. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
  6. no, that''s too fast, and I actually want to do stuff, so make it every two days
I''m not going to end the story just cause no one is reading right now. The story hasn''t even started! After Monday''s chapter, regardless of the decision, I will start a popularity poll. Side stories can only happen if one of the players are there. Like the Valkyrie Chronicles. We can''t just follow Derik Jr. or can we? ooh... Anyways, keep it up, my wonderful Readers! And remember, you saw nothing. And So It Begins Deep in a field somewhere in the Green Sea, a little girl around 5 years old was walking around the pasture harvesting some herbs and vegetables she found. She had been doing this every morning for the past year, to help pay for her food. She was an orphan, but she still had family. She looked around at her uncles, aunts, second cousins, grandparents, and other family members. They weren¡¯t helping her gather stuff, no. They were directly eating it. They were the [Unicorns], a breed of high ranking [Beastkin]. During the day, little Jessica Shutters was forced to be ostracized by her remaining family because of her (curse). No one knew what it was, but the nurse that helped bring her into this world claimed to see a mark of Death on her. The [Unicorn] race was a (cursed) race that was forced to transform at night. Jessica¡¯s unfortunateness was being permanently transformed all day, as well as night. Even worse was her parents actually cared for her. Most of the [Unicorns] did not care for their Moonlight forms. They just slept the night away. Once, quite a long time ago, the [Unicorns] were hunted down for no reason whatsoever because some crazy King said so. Because he had a falling out with the Gods, the [Unicorns] became a protected species. There were several tribes here and there, but they did not interact with other races. In fact, they hardly interacted with each other. [Unicorns] were lazy by nature. They were also vain. And never satisfied. And always ignoring everybody else. Anyways, Jessica was different from the other [Unicorns] since she had to fend for herself. She did not have any way to protect herself since she was too weak to do anything. So she collected the herbs and vegetables to trade for food and materials from the people who visited. These people were selected by Valkyries to watch over the [Unicorns], the Keepers. This group was originally created for the [Unicorns] specifically, but eventually became a brotherhood of activists that protect sacred creatures. The Keepers were always nice to Jessica and helped her get by. They helped patch her family¡¯s house when it got messed up, help teach her how to cook, and even got her to learn magic. The second sun began to set over the horizon so Jessica began to make her way to the Keeper¡¯s camp. She walked into the camp, but didn¡¯t see anyone. ¡°Hello? Anyone there? It¡¯s me, Jesse!¡± ¡°¡±¡±¡±SURPRISE!!!¡±¡±¡±¡± Six people jumped out from the tents with a yell that made Jessica jump. ¡°Waah!¡± She fell. And dropped her stuff. And started to cry. The six adults began to look at each other, blaming the others with their glares. One of the only two women in the group, the taller one, approached Jessica. She was dressed in casual clothes, rather than her normal armor. ¡°Sorry about that.¡± ¡°That wasn¡¯t very nice¡¡± ¡°Yeah, we just wanted to surprise you with a birthday party. We didn¡¯t realize we would scare you. Sorry.¡± The burly man who spoke up started to saunter over until the other lady berated him. ¡°This was your fault! All we had to do was say ¡®surprise¡¯! We didn¡¯t have to actually hide!¡± A tall man with a scholarly appearance cut in, stopping the angry lady with short hair and short stature from going too far. ¡°Now, now, don¡¯t get all boiled up. We are doing this for Jesse, after all.¡± ¡°Exactly! It¡¯s a party! We have to have fun!¡± A young man, almost a boy, was jumping up and down, eyeballing the cake the last man, an extremely lanky man with dark skin and flamboyant clothes, was holding. ¡°Hmph, don¡¯t even think about it. The first bite belongs to Jesse!¡± The party of six knights welcomed Jessica and that night, they played and laughed till she fell asleep in the tall knight¡¯s lap. That night, she had a strange dream in which a teenage boy with short, spiky brown hair and blue eyes walked towards her. She wasn¡¯t afraid, but she was a little sad. She instinctively knew that this was her last night. The boy knelt down beside her and whispered in her ear, ¡°You can see them again. Don¡¯t worry. I won¡¯t let you disappear.¡± Then her vision blurred to white. The next morning, Jessica awoke on a sleeping mat covered in a blanket. She walked out of the tent and was blasted by the smell of breakfast. The lanky dark man was cooking something over the fire. ¡°Good morning, Damien. What¡¯s for breakfast?¡± ¡°Oh? Good morning, Jesse! We are having some [Devil Boar] Bacon! And some [Quake Quail] eggs with some freshly squeezed Mapper Juice.¡± ¡°You always make delicious food.¡± ¡°Hehe, thanks darling. Go wash up, we will be providing breakfast for you today, sweetie.¡± ¡°Thanks!¡± Jessica skipped over to the nearby river and looked at her reflection. ''Dang, I''m going to have to get used to this. I guess I can take it easy today, but tomorrow, I will have to start training properly.'' ¡°Hehe, you slept rather well, last night. How are you today, Jesse?¡± From behind her came the voice of the short woman. ¡°Oh, hello, Amelia! I was just thinking about doing more things to help.¡± ¡°Oh you don¡¯t have to worry about that. That¡¯s what we¡¯re for!¡± ¡°She¡¯s right. Eventually, we might be called back. Can¡¯t have her getting into trouble while we aren¡¯t here.¡± ¡°Good morning, Bastion!¡± The scholarly man had walked over after having his book interrupted. But he wouldn¡¯t complain. He had read the book thirty seven times already, after all. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. ¡°Good morning. It sounds like Damien is almost finished, and I think Willow and Id are there talking to each other.¡± ¡°What about Vestigo? Is his punishment over, yet?¡± ¡°Punishment? What did he do?!¡± ¡°He scared you! It was his idea, after all!¡± ¡°That¡¯s not nice, let him have breakfast. I¡¯ve already forgiven him.¡± ¡°Oh, Jesse. Don¡¯t waste your good heart on someone like him.¡± ¡°Come on, you two. Let¡¯s go eat.¡± ¡°Yes sir!¡± ¡°Hehe, okay, Bastion.¡± As the three walked back to camp, Jessica saw Willow, the other only woman in this camp, and Id, the rowdy youth talking about the [Devil Boar]. ¡°Haha! Willow, you would have messed yourself! This guy was angry! He had flames coming out his nose and everything!¡± ¡°As if. I¡¯m pretty sure you not killing the beast fast enough lowered the quality we will be eating today. Even if Damien is a master chef, if the materials are bad, the food can only be so good.¡± ¡°Now listen here, little girl. A true master can make even a mud pie taste like the best damn thing you have ever eaten. Don¡¯t go diminishing my abilities!¡± ¡°Sorry, Damien.¡± ¡°Haha! Shows you.¡± ¡°Pbbt!¡± The two were bickering like they always do, with the argument becoming so childish, even Jessica was embarrassed. ¡°Good morning, you two!¡± ¡°Ah, good morning, Jesse!¡± ¡°Good day, is more like it! You slept like a [Lily Hopper] after it ate a [Dream Beetle]!¡± ¡°I swear, Id. Your metaphors and similes are strange. [Lily Hoppers] die after eating [Dream Beetles].¡± ¡°Exactly!¡± ¡°Ugh. Go get Vestigo.¡± ¡°Fine, just don¡¯t start complaining to me when he starts to open his potty mouth, Captain.¡± Bastion was the Captain of the Seventh Squad of Keepers. He was an intelligent [Enigma] of the Wind element, and could hear long distances. He was also capable of transmitting his voice long distances as well. He was known as the {Windy Whisper}, and his team was known for their speed and scouting Skills. Amelia was actually another [Enigma], but her element was of the Ground. Her abilities allowed her to blend in to the surroundings and sneak around without making a sound. Damien was a [Beastkin] that didn¡¯t seem all that beastly. His form turned him into a [Battle Bonobo], a powerful primate race that had powerful Fire related abilities. He wasn¡¯t meant for tactical activities, but he did make a mean stew. Willow was another [Enigma], but she was of the [Mountain Elf] race. Her kind stayed active by running here and there. Mainly used as messengers, their speed and stamina are well known. Id is an [Avian] of the [Hawk] family. Not the race, but the Family. He was of noble birth and was skilled with a bow and had naturally good vision. Vestigo was one of the [Saurians], and one closely related to the [Tyrant King], at that. He was a [Killer Chameleon], and had the ability to [Camouflage] with his surroundings. His ancestry caused him a lot of grief over the years, but he tried his best to shrug off the bad vibes that came with his race¡¯s past. After some delicious bacon and eggs, the six knights hung out with Jessica until, ¡°Looks like it¡¯s time to go. Sorry, Jesse, but it looks like we have to leave sooner than we expected. Come on, men! Pack up your stuff, in 30 minutes we move out!¡± ¡°¡±¡±¡±¡±Yessir!¡±¡±¡±¡±¡± After the Keepers left, Jessica looked around at the flattened ground that used to be a camp site and started to think. She circled the location of where the fire was and began talking to herself. ¡°Okay, so what first¡magic, hunting, strength, or¡Wait, my Quests!" Jessica opened her Mission List and noticed she had something in her Inventory. ¡°The pistol Pestle. What a weird name. At least it is filled with magic energy. With this, I have a weapon to help me hunt, so there goes one thing. And since this gun uses magic, I guess that is what I will work on for now. Well that was an easy decision. I guess I will also do some of these Quests¡and a Mission?¡± Jessica stood there, with her finger hovering in the air, pointing to nowhere in particular for anyone who happened to see her. ¡°Hmm¡I guess I will also keep an eye out for that as well¡¡± What she saw, however, was a gray window explaining the Special Mission she had.

And before people start coming in here with the ¡°Why does the black guy have to be a monkey?!¡± Check out Kanzi the Bonobo Ape. He cooked a burger, isn¡¯t that fuckin¡¯ neato? So shut up with your racist crap. Why does he have to be black? Cuz Kanzi is black! Duh! Get your shit in gear, cuz we are finally starting the story! No more side stories, less of the crazy polls, and maybe even less visits to the psychiatrist! Hurray! Unless you guys vote for it... Also found the horizontal rule and decided color coded words will be during Q&As or meetings. Last Chapter I regret to inform you loyal Readers out there that I will be dropping this story. What the hell?! You just handed it over to me! Yes, but I had to edit it and rewrite it. You aren''t as good an author I thought you would be. And besides, there''s too many elements to keep track of. Even if I only write about one person, there''s still 5 or six to keep track of. I may decide to return to this story once I have more time, but for now, it''s getting shelved. Without further ado, the last chapter.

Jessica started off practicing her [Nature Magic] and [Rainbow Magic]. She went into the brush where many monsters existed. She would grow plants along the way and target herself with [Red Wave]. She would use the magical energy in Pestle to complete the Spells. This way, she didn¡¯t have to worry about running out of MP. She also acquired the [Mana Manipulation] Skill. She currently did not have any actual attack Spells, but she did try and reenact the moves she performed in the space. Jessica ended up getting the [Qi Manipulation] Skill along with creating Skills that used Qi. This included, but wasn¡¯t limited to,
  • [Finger Bullet]: a small blade of Qi would extend from the finger, causing damage upon contact
  • [Flash Step]: By pushing the Qi to the feet, the user can travel at fast speeds
  • [Body Hardening]: Using Qi as an armor will alleviate special attacks¡¯ damage
  • [Kinetic Shock]: a Skill that uses centripetal force, the user spins condensing Qi to their hands or feet and releases the energy, creating a ripple of dangerous force
Because of these and other such Skills, Jessica got the {Move Maker} title. After the entire day, just as the sun was setting, Jessica arrived at her house on the edge of the [Unicorn¡¯s] pasture. This was where she slept at night. The other [Unicorns] would turn into their Moonlight form, but would still disassociate with her. But that was okay, since they were a group of no good, lazy, good for nothing potato sacks. There was a village not far from here that the Seventh Squad was stationed at. This village might hold information of her parents. She decided to head out at first light. She cooked some small animals she hunted and some vegetables she harvested. After eating, she slept.
That night, Jessica had another dream. In it, the boy from before was there, but he looked different. He was wearing weird clothes, a strange wig, and an odd eye patch. He carried a sword on his left hip and Pestle was holstered on his right side. Obviously suspicious, Jessica couldn¡¯t help but ask, ¡°Who are you?¡± The boy stared at her and then held his hand in front of his face, blocking her view of his facial expression. His wig cast a small shadow over his face, so when he bent his head forward, the shadow made him look creepy. He dropped his hands by his sides and started to guffaw, his face now facing the sky. He finally calmed down and answered, ¡°I am Joshua, Disciple of Darkness. It would seem that I might actually get a chance to be of use. If you ever need help, remember these words.¡± The boy who called himself Joshua began to fade out as words appeared in his place. ¡°Arise, Deliverer of Deceit, for I invoke thy name so thine will be done! Save this one from her plight, as she needs the power of Night! Come, Disciple of Darkness!¡± The other boy, Josh, showed up as well, shaking his head and pleaded that Jessica never ask for Joshua¡¯s help. Jessica awoke in the morning feeling confused. The words the weirdo said were still imprinted into her memory. All she had to do was think it, and the words would appear again. After eating breakfast, Jessica traveled to the village. Along the, she defeated monsters and animals. Jessica felt really strange, since there were two people inside her. Joshua didn¡¯t do anything, but Josh kept ¡®telling¡¯ her body what to do, leaving her no room for control. So she would take control for other things. Like skipping, or looking at the flowers. Joshua would practice Skills and Spells leaving Jessica to admire the surroundings. She understood that Josh defeated monsters for money and food, so that wasn¡¯t a problem. She saw the knights hunt before, too. The main issue she had was all the strange memories now contained within her. She saw strange contraptions that look like something the [Tyrant] would make. She saw cool moving pictures with voices and music, and could taste flavors she had never actually experienced. So while she was sidetracked, Josh handled everything else. Jessica was only five, and also didn¡¯t need to actually fight, so when she actually practiced, she grew fast. The next level Spells were already unlocked! [Entangle] grows vines around a target, constricting their movements and slowly draining their energy. [Orange Burst] throws an orange ball of color at the enemy, slowly burning them. There was also the chance of getting the Excite Status, which made the enemy reckless, leaving many openings for the user to take advantage of. Using it upon herself would allow her to experience a growth of speed. Although the Spells leveled up, Jessica did not. [Unicorns] were tougher creatures, so their growth was slower in exchange. After arriving in the village, Jessica asked around about her parents. She heard a tale of some [Unicorns] causing trouble five years ago, but she would have to speak with the Mayor. Before going to see him, however, Jessica went to a big building that had a big sign in front in the shape of a shield, or badge. It was the adventurer¡¯s guild! There were many different branches, with many different styles. This was a simple branch, since it was only there for the hunters to get rid of any magic stones they obtained. In the Alliance, magic stones, or monster cores, were collected and studied by the guild. This allowed the Alliance to receive many good things. The stones were good for magic and powering ancient contraptions. Of course using those contraptions was illegal, but many high ranking mages dabbled in the know-how of mechanics. It was like a hobby. Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. But Jessica was here so she could work towards becoming an A rank adventurer. She could get a license to forage for now, and when she becomes 15, she can become a full-fledged E rank Adventurer. She registered as an F rank adventurer and accepted some low danger foraging Quests. Once she accepted them, they appeared on her Mission List. She turned over all her belongings that were Quest related and gained some money, as well as a few MT. After receiving her rewards, she left for the store, in hopes to find books, clothes, and tools. She didn¡¯t have enough money for books or tools, as books within the Alliance were created the old way, denouncing the [Tyrant], and tools would not be sold to a little girl. She spent the next hour walking around the village in her new outfit, which was a simple hide chest plate along with some pants. Wearing a skirt wasn¡¯t going to make battle easy, after all. She eventually arrived at a rundown church. Wondering why a church wasn¡¯t doing well, Jessica went inside, hoping to find some more Quests. When she walked in, all she saw were little dirty brown piles of something all over the floor. The pews were all stacked against the wall and these mounds of mess were making noise. After shutting the door behind her, she heard a hissing sound. She looked over to see a sister gesturing for her to walk into the next room. The room was a kitchen, as it also had a table. The sister returned to her seat where a mug of something sat, steam still rising from the contents. ¡°Welcome to the Church of F?thia, the Goddess Nourishment and Crops.¡± The sister was visibly tired, not expending the effort to be enthusiastic. ¡°Were those kids?¡± ¡°Yes, little one. While most of these children had their parents conscripted for the war, some others are orphans who lost their family to monster attacks.¡± ¡°Monsters?¡± ¡°Sorry, I shouldn¡¯t be talking about such a scary thing to such a little girl. No need to worry. I take it you must be the unfortunate [Unicorn] I heard about from the knights.¡± ¡°You know them?¡± ¡°They stopped by yesterday, leaving some food and clean linens. I wish we had beds or at least something for the kids to sleep on. The lord only focuses on his city, while we small villages get left behind. All of our able bodied men are sent to war, while we have to defend ourselves from bandits and monsters still.¡± ¡°Are the monsters that bad?¡± ¡°They didn¡¯t use to be. It¡¯s almost as if the [Tyrant King¡¯s] awakening sparked some sort of change. It¡¯s all because of that mad man.¡± Jessica also had memories of this [Tyrant]. She knew that this wasn¡¯t the case entirely. So she asked a little tough questions. ¡°What did he do?¡± ¡°He challenged the Gods.¡± ¡°How?¡± ¡°He tried to become a God.¡± ¡°So are the Gods wrong for becoming Gods, too?¡± The sister was about to reply, before catching herself in thought. It was great, the things kids could get away with. If an adult had said this, he would be deemed a traitor. A kid doesn¡¯t know any better, so Jessica was safe. The sister was coming to terms with her thoughts. Josh decided for a final blow. ¡°The Gods need to learn to share.¡± Josh added a pouty face for good measure. After seeing the lady struggle with her own faith, Jessica decided to calm her down. ¡°Is it okay if I come by, every now and then? I am trying to find my parents.¡± Those words immediately snapped the sister out of her funk. One reason was because she wanted to distract herself, the other was because she heard something important! She remembered that this child was also an orphan! ¡°Find them? But aren¡¯t they¡¡± ¡°I know. But I want to find out where they came from. I want to know what they did, or if maybe there is more of my family.¡± Listening to Jessica¡¯s story, the sister began to tear up as she hugged Jessica tightly saying she could stay forever if she wished. Jessica soon apologized, saying she was going to visit the Mayor. Then she got up and left quietly without waking the other kids up.
