《The Maou Walks Among Us》 Prologue-The Meeting Emelia¡¯s POV She was walking through a dim hall. The only source of light was the light of the red moon shining from the large windows to her light. Every so often she would see a painting, a dresser, or a pot of flowers to decorate this dreary hall. Aside from that only the pillars of the hall and light from the moon kept her company. She was walking through the halls of Castle Oblivion. She was a beautiful young woman in the later part of her teens. Her short fiery red hair flowed down just below her ears and covered the left part of her face, her ruby red eyes shined in the light of the moon like a hunter searching for its prey. She was around 5¡¯ 9¡± and she was dressed in armor perfectly tailored to a girl of her height. The armor truly showed off her ¡®assets¡¯ and her hourglass figure. There was no sound throughout the hall aside from her own breathing and walking. She searched around cautiously as she walked through these halls nearly devoid of light. ¡®Where is everyone? Why is there no one here to stop me? Am I seen as nothing more than a bug to him!?¡¯ She paused and her eyes widened as if in realization. ¡°This must be a Trap!¡± ¡®That¡¯s it, this all must be to lull her into a false sense of security only for her to fall into a trap or ambush!¡¯ She grinned and yelled out as if in challenge, ¡°Well Maou you won¡¯t trick me that easily!¡± She continued more cautiously then ever while passing through similar scenery as before. She begun to get annoyed and paranoid. ¡®Is this an illusion trap? Is he playing with me and trying to make me waste my energy by wandering aimlessly.¡¯ ¡°That coward!¡± She screamed out. Soon after she could see a large set of doors and ran towards them. The doors had a medieval look to them and seemed to be made of wood. Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! She couldn¡¯t sense any miasma from the room, so she simply checked for traps and proceeded inwards. As she pushed open the doors she begun to think to herself. ¡®He must not be here because I couldn¡¯t sense any miasma. Seems like I will finally meet my first challenge of this castle in the form of a puzzle or something¡¯ She begun to get annoyed at this thought. ¡®I¡¯ll just complete it and then I will shove his puzzle and illusions¡¯, ¡°down his f***ing throat!¡± She yelled. As she looked into the room she did not see the puzzle she expected and instead she saw a man sleeping upon a thrown. ¡®Who is this and why are they in a dangerous place like this?¡¯ She walked up to the man without caution. She felt slightly comfortable looking at him. He had a medium build with long midnight black hair flowing down to his shoulders. He looked to be in his early twenties. She begun to shake him. ¡°Hey wake up, this place is dangerous you shouldn¡¯t be sleeping here.¡± (Emelia) *groan* ¡°Five more weeks please.¡±(???) She kept shaking him, but he just went back to sleep. She begun to get pissed off. She slowly bent down to his ear. ¡°WAKE UP!¡±(Emelia) He jumped up in surprise and looked right at her. As she looked into his Sapphire blue eyes she lost herself for a second. ¡°Who are you?¡±(???) She shook herself back to reality. ¡°That¡¯s what I should be asking¡± (Emelia) ¡°Besides, shouldn¡¯t you introduce yourself before you go and ask for someone else¡¯s name?¡± (Emelia) She said curtly. The man nodded and begun to talk. ¡°I am Tsuneo Satan, king of hell and ruler of the demonkin.¡± He said with authority. Chapter 1- Maou Tsuneo Satan Emelia''s POV ¡°I am Tsuneo Satan, king of hell and ruler of the demonkin.¡± (Maou) He stood with authority as he said those words she had waited to hear. She jumped back quickly and drew her sword in a flash. The fire of anger soon overtook her. ¡°And who are you?¡±(Maou) He said lazily. She angrily replied ¡°I am the Hero Emelia, and I will be your end!¡± She finally had found him. The cause of all the suffering in the world and her mortal enemy the Maou! ¡®I will finally have my revenge.¡¯ ¡®Our epic final battle is finally about to begin!¡¯ *yawn* ¡°Oh, I see.¡±(Maou) He replied while hardly acknowledging the weight behind her words. As he begun to stretch after waking up Emelia begun to grow even more peeved. ¡°WHAT ARE YOU DOING I AM HERE TO KILL YOU! STOP ACTING CARELESS!¡±(Emelia) She yelled out in fury as she dashed forward and in a flash reached him and swung down her blade. *Yawn* Maou leaned towards the left as he yawned and as a result Emelia¡¯s swing narrowly missed its target and hit only air. She fell off balance as a result, but quickly caught herself and prepared for a counter. Maou stood with his eyes closed lazily. He seemed to not be fully awake and was even falling back asleep. This set Emelia off even more and she begun to swing crazily at him. Each attack was even stronger and faster than the last, but everything barely missed the Maou by a hair and he continued to drift off to sleep. Emelia was growing angrier and putting more into each swing, but the Maou sleepily dodged each one as if they were as slow as a leaf falling from a tree. Finally after numerous full force swings of her blade Emelia begun to feel fatigue. *Hahh¡Hahh* Her breathing became more ragged and her sword swings slowed to a stop. *Hahh¡Hahh* ¡°Why won¡¯t you take me seriously?¡± (Emelia) The Maou didn¡¯t respond and was instead falling asleep where he stood. ¡°WAKE UP!¡± (Emelia) She screamed. Maou woke back up at hearing her yell. He looked at her accusingly for interrupting his sleep and his eyes seemed to say ¡°What do you want?¡± Emelia¡¯s anger just kept increasing as she spent more time around him. ¡°Why won¡¯t you take me seriously?¡± (Emelia) she said through her teeth. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°Because you can¡¯t harm me.¡± (Maou) he said as if it was obvious. With this one line finally Emelia lost her last string of reasoning. Raising her sword in the air with her left hand she called out to the sky above. ¡°I call upon the blessings of god and his followers to grant me the power I need to destroy the evil before me.¡± (Emelia) The Maou looked on without a care in the world as light begun to flow into the room. ¡°May the power of light permeate my body and transform it into thy vessel.¡± (Emelia) The light that entered the room flowed continuously into the sword. ¡°Let the Holy Sanctum of light flow evermore and lend me its power, LIGHT¡¯S AWAKENING!¡± (Emelia) As Emelia yelled out the last words all the light engulfed her and flashed. The Maou continued to look on as the light slowly faded away. Standing before him was Emelia with the same crimson hair and Ruby eyes, but now her blade had golden lines across it and her silhouette was lined with light. ¡°Now I will thoroughly end you!¡± (Emelia) ¡°I see¡± (Maou) He simply responded. Emelia jumped out and dashed at a speed more than double that of her earlier speed. Again the pattern of the Maou dodging ever increasing amounts of sword swings continued. Emelia¡¯s eyes widened. ¡®How can he dodge swings with the power of light behind them?¡¯ (Emelia) ¡®This shouldn¡¯t be possible.¡¯ (Emelia) She continued to swing ruthlessly at him, yet it was useless in front of the speed of the Maou. Emelia looked up to see his eyes expecting to at least see him full of desperation and struggling. What she saw instead was a look of indifference as if she was merely a child playing swords with him. ¡®I won¡¯t give in, I will not lose to him!¡¯ (Emelia) Her anger reached its peak and she swung her blade with all of her remaining power behind it at him. ¡°Die!¡± (Emelia) she screamed out. As she swung with all her might her hair fluttered out of her face revealing her gorgeous face. The Maou was about to dodge as usual when he saw her face and his eyes widened as he paused in his place. ¡®Her face, it¡¯s¡¡¯ (Maou) He did not complete the thought before Emelia¡¯s blade came down upon his neck. Chapter 2- End of the Journey Emelia¡¯s POV She looked in triumph as she felt her blade cut through the Maou. Finally she had completed her journey¡ Is as it should have been. Emelia had thought she had victory when she made contact with the Maou¡¯s throat, but when she looked in front of her although he had a surprised expression, his head was leaning to the left with the sword up against the right side of his neck. A single drop of blood rolled down his neck and down his shirt. ¡®How is he still alive?¡¯ Her eyes opened in surprise and bewilderment as she looked at him. The Maou didn¡¯t even acknowledge her sword and slowly he reached out towards her face. Emelia quickly retreated from what she thought was an attack, but he was already in front of her once she retreated. ¡®This is my end.¡¯ Emelia an emotion she hadn¡¯t felt in close to ten years, fear. She closed her eyes awaiting the end. Soon she felt something warm and soft go across her face moving her hair to the side. She slowly opened her eyes and in front of her was something she never expected. The Maou was looking at her with warm eyes and whispered something she couldn¡¯t hear. ¡°Sophia¡¡± ¡®Why am I still alive? Shouldn¡¯t he have killed me? Why does he have that look towards me?¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°Why haven¡¯t you killed me? Why are you looking at me like that!?¡± (Emelia) She begun at a whisper and was yelling out the last word at the end. The Maou soon came out of his daze by the end of her sentence. ¡°You remind me¡ of her¡¡± He whispered. ¡°What?¡± (Emelia) Asked having been unable to hear him. He slowly shook his head and begun to walk away. ¡°Where are you going!? This fight is not over!¡± (Emelia) She called out. He shook his head. ¡°It is, and you know it.¡± (Maou) He responded without turning around. Soon he had left through a door to the left of the thrown chamber. The door closed behind him with a thud. Emelia looked on towards his back figure until he left. ¡®I couldn¡¯t beat him.¡¯ She fell to her knees in frustration. ¡°Why? I trained for 7 years in order to defeat him and I could barely leave even a scratch.¡± (Emelia) She said in frustration. ¡®Everything I¡¯ve ever worked towards turned worthless in but a moment.¡¯ She begun to pound the floor with her fists in frustration as the light surrounding her begun to fade and the floor showed no signs of wear. ¡®It¡¯s worthless, even the floor doesn¡¯t budge at my attacks,¡¯ (Emelia) This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.Her fists slowed until she finally stopped hitting the floor. Her arms hung beside unmoving. ¡®Why did I even try? What were these years of effort for?¡¯ (Emelia) ¡®Why did I waste their sacrifice, their effort and caring, and those two¡¯s training?¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°Why am I so worthless?¡± (Emelia) she chastised herself. Her eyes begun to redden and she was on the verge of tears. ¡°What was I even born for if I can¡¯t even defeat him?¡± (Emelia) Her tears begun to fall. *Hic* *Hic* ¡°Hello¡± (???) A young female¡¯s voice said. *Hic* Emelia looked up at the voice, continuing to cry. Before her was a woman with short black hair and tourmaline purple eyes. She was shorter then Emelia by at least half a head. The young girl was wearing a blue maid outfit. ¡®What a cute child¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°Um¡ Hello, young miss. Are you okay?¡± (???) The girl asked worriedly. ¡°What do you want?¡± (Emelia) she responded sadly while wiping her tears. ¡°Ah, yes I was sent to attend to you for the remainder of your stay here at castle oblivion.¡± (???) The child responded respectfully and with a bow. ¡°Ah, I almost forgot. I am Maria, a maid working under the Maou.¡± (Maria) She said and quickly bowed again. Emelia finally noticed the two miniature batwings behind Maria¡¯s headpiece. Normally Emelia would have drawn her sword in order to protect herself from this demoness, but she no longer had the will to fight back. ¡°Please follow me to your room miss, it¡¯s too cold to sleep in here and we have a bed ready for your use.¡± (Maria) She said while offering Emelia her hand. ¡®I don¡¯t care what happens anymore, if this is a trap then so be it.¡¯ (Emelia) Emelia took the girls hand and stood up. ¡°This way miss.¡± (Maria) Maria led her through the door to the right and after turning a few times through the halls she was led into a spacious room with a large bed to the right of the door that could fit 4 people with room to spare. The bed was decorated beautifully with cherry blossom covers and red tapestry hanging around it over head. The room had a dresser with a large mirror on it on the opposite side of the bed. As well as one large window covered up by a drape on the opposite side to the door. ¡°Allow me to help you change into something more comfortable, miss.¡± (Maria) Emelia was led to the bed and without a thought Maria changed her into a two piece sleepwear. Soon Maria had helped her to bed and Emelia had fallen asleep. Chapter 3- Your age is What? Last chapter of the day. Thanks for your support. _________________________________________________________________________________________ *Ahhhhhhh* A girl could be heard screaming in the background. *Schlick* The sound of flesh being pierced and sliced could be heard everywhere. ¡°Hide here, it will be safe.¡± (???) A man with ruby red eyes and blond hair said to a young girl. ¡°But what about you?¡± (???) The young girl asked innocently. ¡°Listen to your father, honey, we¡¯ll be fine, I promise.¡± (???) Responded a young woman with crimson hair and blue eyes. ¡°Really, you promise?¡± (???) The young girl asked offering her pinky finger. The woman took the girls pinky in her own. ¡°I promise.¡± (???) She responded with tears in her eyes. Quickly the girl was placed in a hole in the floor boards that was covered again. *Bash* The sounds of a door breaking could be heard. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Castle Oblivion 1 day after the battle. Emelia¡¯s POV *groan* Emelia lay in bed tossing and turning. *Moan* ¡°Mommy¡± She whispered. She was sweating profusely when she suddenly awoke. ¡°That dream again¡¡± (Emelia) She groaned out. ¡®This bed¡¡¯ (Emelia) She touched the pillow below her head. ¡°Soft.¡± She whispered She quickly sat upright and observed her surroundings quizzically. ¡®Where am I?¡¯ (Emelia) She could see nothing around her except red tapestry surrounding her bed. ¡®Wait I¡¯m at¡¡¯ (Emelia) *Tap* *Tap* *Tap* She heard footsteps as someone entered her room. She reached towards her left, but grabbed only air. ¡®Where did I leave it?¡¯(Emelia) Light begun to faintly enter the bed through the tapestry to her right. She realized she didn¡¯t have her sword next to her. ¡®I must protect myself from whoever this is.¡¯ (Emelia) Immediately after the thought the tapestry was pulled open and light flooded her vision as she begun to Stike. ¡°Miss, it¡¯s time to wake up.¡± (???) A young girl said cheerfully. Emelia stopped her strike and looked before her. In front of her was a young girl she recognized. ¡®This is¡¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°Maria¡± (Emelia) She said aloud. ¡°Yes miss?¡± (Maria) The girl said cheerfully as the bat wings on her head perked up. ¡°Nothing¡¡± (Emelia) She said. ¡°Allow me to help you change, miss.¡± (Maria) The maid said cheerfully. ¡®What happened yesterday¡¯ (Emelia) Emelia begun to recall the events of the previous day from her entrance to the castle to her defeat. ¡®Oh, yeah that happened¡¡¯ (Emelia) She remembered. ¡°You¡¯re all set, miss. Breakfast has been prepared at the dining hall, please allow me to guide you.¡± (Maria) She said cutely. Emelia looked down and saw that her 2 piece pajama set had been changed for a one piece sundress. ¡®Where did these clothes come from?¡¯ (Emelia) She thought curiously. Her hand was grabbed and she was dragged quickly by the enthusiastic maid. ¡®How can a¡ demonkin be this cute?¡¯ (Emelia) The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Soon the two reached the dining hall. ¡°We have arrived, miss.¡± (Maria) Emelia looked around and saw one long empty dining table that could sit at least 30 people. ¡°Here allow me to guide you to your seat, miss.¡± (Maria) She said as she walked towards right of the head. ¡®Why is it so empty, is this a trap?¡¯ (Emelia) She wondered. ¡°Here is your seat, miss.¡± (Maria) She pulled out the seat directly to the right of the head and gestured towards it. Emelia nodded and slowly lowered herself into the seat. ¡°I will bring your breakfast now for you miss.¡± (Maria) The little maid ran towards the way they came. Emelia continued to observe the room she found herself in. ¡®What is with this?¡¯ (Emelia) She could see that the table was fully set with a plate, a fork, a knife, a spoon, a chalice and a towel upon a personal size table cloth at every seat and set in the exact same way. ¡®Someone pays attention to detail.¡¯ (Emelia) She observed. She saw a chandelier above the center of the table and a fireplace behind the table head that faced towards the only door in. There were windows directly in front of her and paintings to her back. ¡°Here you are miss¡± (Maria) She said with an enthusiastic voice as the entered the room. Maria began to place an omelet in front of Emelia followed by pancakes, sausage links, and bacon. ¡®Is it poisoned?¡¯ (Emelia) She thought. *Growl* Emelia looked down embarrassingly. ¡®Doesn¡¯t matter I haven¡¯t eaten since I entered this castle and I¡¯m too hungry to worry.¡¯ (Emelia) She picked up her fork and cut into the omelet. It easily came apart as she cut into it and she could see lines of cheese between the now 2 pieces. *Gulp* ¡®It looks good enough¡¯ (Emilia) She slowly took a bite and then immediately her eyes widened and she gobbled it down quickly as if it would disappear any minute now, and then she followed by eating everything else set before her greedily. ¡°How is it, miss?¡± (Maria) She said with beaming eyes. ¡°Delicous.¡± (Emelia) Was the only word she could say before that face. ¡°Thank you miss. There is more food if you are still hungry.¡± (Maria) The wings behind her head dress perked up. ¡°No¡ Thank you¡± (Emelia) She responded with pause as she saw the wings lower at the word ¡°No.¡± ¡°Okay, miss. Allow me to help you up, please.¡± (Maria) Emelia accepted the help and could not help but observe the bat wings now. ¡®Cute¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°You may now do as you like here until lunchtime. I¡¯m sorry miss, but I have work that I must do and I can no longer guide you. I will find you when it is time for lunch.¡± (Maria) ¡°What work do you do?¡± (Emelia) Asked after a pause. ¡°I am to dust the castle today.¡± (Maria) Said eagerly. ¡°The whole castle?¡± (Emelia) Said as she grabbed Maria¡¯s shoulders. ¡°Yes!¡± (Maria) Responded looking towards Emelia¡¯ arms. ¡®How could he make such a cute young girl do all of that work!?¡¯ (Emelia) Thought angrily. ¡°But you¡¯re so young¡¡± (Emelia) Responded. ¡°What do you mean miss? I¡¯m 173 years old this year!¡± (Maria) Said while puffing her cheeks. Chapter 4- Opening up Here is the first chapter today. I will probably release at least one more, but maybe not. No promises. __________________________________________________________________________________ Emelia¡¯s POV ¡°What do you mean miss? I¡¯m 173 years old this year!¡± (Maria) Said while puffing her cheeks. ¡°¡.¡± (Emelia) Emelia¡¯s eyes widened as she begun to digest what Maria had said. *Mmmm* Maria was beginning to pout at what Emelia had said and her cheeks were puffed out like a blowfish as she gave a cute glare towards Emelia. Emelia finally snapped out of her stupor at this. ¡®Oh, yeah she¡¯s not human¡¡¯ (Emelia) Maria was continuing to glare at Emelia and did not seem to be ready to stop any time soon. ¡®She¡¯s cute, but she¡¯s not human¡ Does that matter?¡¯ (Emelia) Emelia paused after realizing what she had just thought. Emelia shook her head putting off the thought and finally responded to Maria. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, that was my fault. How could I mistake you for a child?¡± (Emelia) Said as she poked Maria¡¯s puffed out cheek with a smile. *Mmmm* ¡°I¡¯m not a child!¡± (Maria) Said as she ran off back through the door with all of the dishes Emelia had used. ¡®She¡¯s so cute¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°But she¡¯s a demonkin¡¡± (Emelia) Emelia passed through the rest of the day in a stupor and before she knew it, it was time to sleep again. ¡°Okay miss, get a good night¡¯s rest I will come back to wake you again in the morning.¡± (Maria) Maria begun to close the Tapestry around the bed and walked out the door. ¡°Thank you.¡±(Emelia) ¡°Your welcome miss.¡± (Maria) Replied warmly as she slowly closed the door behind her. _____________________________________________________________________________________ *Crash* The sound of wood breaking could be heard nearby. *Grunt* *Schlick* Screaming could be heard above along with the sound of pierced flesh. ¡°Don¡¯t you dare touch my wife!¡± (???) A man¡¯s voice could be heard. *Thud* *Crash* Something hit hard directly above. *Hur Hur Hur* Strange laughing could be heard coming from a few feet. *Uhg* *Cough* *Wheeze* The sound of pain could be heard from above. *Hur Hur Hur* *Hur Hur* *Hur Hur Hur* The laughing continued with more voices now. *TAP TAP TAP* Loud steps could be heard as the laughing got closer. The laughing soon could be heard directly above. *Schlick* *Thud* A large sword pierced through the person and wooden boards above. *Schlick* *Wheeze* *Hur Hur Hur¡* The sword was removed and the man began wheezing as the laughing got farther away. *Cough* *Cough* ¡°Please live for the both of us *Cough* please have a good life my dear¡¡± (???) The man spoke between coughs. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. *Drip* *Drop* Blood trickled directly onto her as she sat there. ¡°Emelia.¡± _____________________________________________________________________________________ Castle Oblivion. Day 4. Emelia¡¯s POV ¡°Daddy!¡± (Emelia) She screamed out. She awoke in a pool of her own sweat. She looked around as she slowly awoke from her nightmare. ¡°Again, huh¡.¡± She whispered. *Thud* *Crash* ¡°Miss are you Okay!¡± (Maria) Maria quickly opened up the red curtains. Emelia looked up and saw the worry that filled the girls face. ¡°I¡¯m fine¡Thank you¡± (Emelia) ¡°You¡¯re covered in sweat miss. Here allow me to show you to the washroom.¡± (Maria) Maria dragged Emelia directly to the washroom and begun to wash her. ¡°Are you okay miss?¡± (Maria) ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) She sat silently as Maria washed her back and hair. ¡°Miss, if there is anything you need¡ I¡¯m here for you.¡± (Maria) ¡°As a maid.¡± (Emelia) Maria shook her head. ¡°As a friend.¡± (Maria) ¡°But you¡¯re¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°A demonkin and you¡¯re a human, right miss.¡± (Maria) The wings on her head drooped a little at those words. Emelia¡¯s eyes widened as she looked into Maria¡¯s eyes. ¡°How did you know I¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°I could see it in the way you looked at me these last couple of days.¡± (Maria) ¡®How could I treat her like that.¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°I didn¡¯t mean to¡¡± (Emelia) ¡®She¡¯s treated me so kindly¡¯ (Emelia) She did not complete the thought before Maria responded. ¡°It¡¯s ok miss, I¡¯m here when you¡¯re ready to talk.¡± (Maria) ¡°I¡¯m¡¡± Emelia whispered. ¡®But she¡¯s a¡¡¯ (Emelia) She got up after finishing washing Emelia¡¯s back. Emelia looked up with determination. ¡®Who cares about that!¡¯ (Emelia) As she begun to walk away her hand was grabbed. ¡°Emelia¡ Call me Emelia.¡± (Emelia) Emelia stated with a determined look. ¡°Miss¡ I mean Emelia.¡± (Maria) She started in surprise but paused and responded with warmth. The two talked about everything weighing on Emelia¡¯s mind including her childhood up to the loss of her parents. ¡°And that¡¯s what happened.¡± (Emelia) She looked to her left to see Maria bawling her eyes out. ¡°That¡¯s *hic* The saddest thing I¡¯ve ever heard. *Hic*¡± (Maria) Maria suddenly hugged Emelia tightly. Emelia felt a warmth she hadn¡¯t felt in a long time. After collecting herself Maria helped Emelia get dressed and the two proceeded to the dining room. ¡°Here is your food Emelia!¡± Emelia pulled the seat to her left out. ¡°Please eat with me.¡± (Emelia) ¡°But miss.¡± Emelia looked determined. ¡°Okay, Emelia.¡± (Maria) They ate breakfast together for the first time. Chapter 5- The Painting Last chapter of the day. Hope you enjoy! _________________________________________________________________________________________ Emelia¡¯s POV After eating their breakfast together Maria went off to do her work of sweeping the castle. Emelia offered to help, but Maria refused. As Maria begun to walk off she turned around. ¡°I suggest going to the gallery in the northern corridor of the 2nd floor. It is filled with that has been collected over millennia.¡± (Maria) Stated with a broad smile. ¡°Just don¡¯t enter the southern corridor of the castle. That is the master¡¯s quarters.¡± After that Maria ran off with broom in hand. Emelia decided to take Maria¡¯s advice and begun to head towards her destination. Emelia was wandering the halls of castle oblivion searching for her destination, but she found herself on the third floor of the castle. ¡®Where is that gallery? Must everything in this castle be so hard to find.¡¯ (Emelia) ¡®Where is everybody anyway?¡± (Emelia) She had not seen a soul aside from the Maou on the first day and Maria up until then. She came across a fork in the hall one side leading to the left and the other strait. ¡®Let¡¯s go left. I feel an arty vibe to the left.¡¯(Emelia) As she began to round the corner she bumped into someone. *Thud* As she looked up right before her eyes was the Maou. Emelia¡¯s eyes widened and she begun to look down avoiding eye contact. ¡°What are you doing here?¡± (Maou) ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°Miss, are you looking for something here?¡± (???) Emelia looked up nervously to see the source of the voice. Behind the Maou an old butler came into sight. He was taller than Emelia by a couple of inches and had grey hair done in a long pony tail and grey eyes. [Look up Rowen Ilbert] ¡°It¡¯s okay miss, I won¡¯t bite.¡± (Butler) She looked towards the Maou, but he wasn¡¯t even looking at her. She calmed down and answered. ¡°I¡¯m looking for the art gallery on the 2nd floor.¡± (Emelia) Answered nervously. The butler¡¯s eyes widened and then the Maou begun talking with him quietly. Emelia tried to hear their conversation but only hear the Maou say. ¡°¡Lost¡¡± (Maou) ¡°I am not lost!¡±(Emelia) ¡°Of course you are not miss, but please allow me to guide you, miss, for my own comfort. I am Sebastian by the way.¡± (Sebastian) Sebastian bowed with his right hand on his chest. ¡°Fine.¡± (Emelia) Emelia saw the Maou walk back down the way he came. She was led back the way she came and ultimately down the stairs and to her destination. Soon after she arrived at her destination. ¡°Here is the art gallery Miss. Please enjoy this art gathered since the beginning of the history of demonkin.¡± (Sebastian) Emelia entered the gallery and begun to look around. Eventually she came across a certain painting. Portrayed in it was a beautiful woman that looked to be in her late 20s. She had long crimson hair and eyes. She was wearing a white dress and was carrying a child and smiling next to a man with little detail to him. The woman had a gorgeous smile on her face. Even Emelia with no experience in art could tell how much loving and care was put into the painting. But one thing caught her attention. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°That looks like¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°You, miss.¡± (Sebastian) Emelia turned around in surprise. Standing before her was Sebastian who had responded. She paused and asked. ¡°Why is there a picture of me here, and who painted it?¡± (Emelia) She asked with seriousness in her voice. Shaking his head he answered. ¡°That is because it is not you. It is a painting of someone the master knew a long time ago. In a time before he was the Maou. During his life as a human.¡± (Sebastian) Emelia¡¯s eyes widened. ¡°What do you mean?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Exactly as I said. The Master once lived his life as a human.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°You mean he lived in the human world as a spy, right?¡± (Emelia) ¡°No, Miss, I mean that for the first 17 years of his life the master lived his life as a human. During which time he met the Miss you see in the picture.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°What kind of terrible person must he have been to become the Maou?¡± (Emelia) Sebastian began to laugh at her comment. ¡°Ho Ho HO. Miss, it¡¯s quite the opposite in fact he was is the most righteous of all the Maou¡¯s so far.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°How can that be? You have to be evil to become the Maou after all.¡± (Emelia) ¡°That is incorrect miss. The only requirements to become the Maou is to have the blood of the Maou flowing through you, and for the previous Maou to die.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°So he was a demonkin after all then.¡± (Emelia) Stated. ¡°Yes and no. After all only his mother was a demonkin. His father, however was definitely not.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°So how does that prove he was righteous?¡± (Emelia) Said as she her eyes narrowed. ¡°Ah yes that. Have you heard of the incident at Merlin¡¯s Academy?¡± (Sebastian) ¡°Yes, Why?¡± (Emelia) ¡°He killed his grandfather, the previous Maou, at that time in order to stop him.¡± (Sebastian) Emelia¡¯s eyes widened. ¡°But the Maou didn¡¯t die back then and the hero at that time was most definitely the Saint Sophia who sealed him. There is no mention of a Tsuneo¡± (Emelia) ¡°You are incorrect Miss, at the time the previous Maou did die by the Master¡¯s hand, but according to the laws of the world there must be balance between light and dark. If there is a god there must be a devil. When he took up the mantle to keep the balance all memory of him was erased from anyone he knew that was not related to the position of the Maou.¡± (Sebastian) Emelia became dazed in surprise. ¡®Could that picture be¡¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°At that time the human Tsuneo ceased to be in your world and Maou Tsuneo Satan replaced the old in everyone¡¯s memories.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°The picture before you is that of his former love. The Saint Sophia.¡± (Sebastian) Chapter 6- Proof One more chapter later today. The next one will be longer than usual too! __________________________________________________________________________________________ Emelia¡¯s POV ¡°That can¡¯t be true. The Saint hated the Maou!¡± (Emelia) She shook her head denying vehemently. ¡°Of course she hated the Maou. After all in her memory the Maou killed her one love, Tsuneo.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°That¡¯s no true¡± Emelia whispered. ¡°I can do nothing else, but tell you the truth, miss. It is up to you to decide what to make of it.¡± (Sebastian) Sebastian turned and left at those words. ¡®It can¡¯t be¡ can it?¡¯ (Emelia) Emelia did not know how long she stood there in a daze, but before she knew it a voice called out to her. ¡°Emelia, it¡¯s time for dinner.¡± (Maria) Emelia was shaken from her stupor by Maria¡¯s voice. ¡°Ah¡ Yes, let¡¯s eat.¡± (Emelia) ¡°Is everything okay?¡± (Maria) ¡°¡I¡¯m fine.¡± (Emelia) ¡®Is it true?¡± (Emelia) Maria looked worried, but led Emelia to the dining room where the two began to eat. Emelia was listless throughout the meal. ¡°How was the art gallery?¡± (Maria) ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°Did you see anything there that bothered you?¡± (Maria) Maria¡¯s look of worry finally made Emelia talk. ¡°I saw a picture¡ It looked like me, but it wasn¡¯t.¡± (Emelia) ¡°The picture of the master¡¯s love, right?¡± (Maria) Emelia looked straight at her. ¡°You know the story?¡± (Emelia) ¡°I know the gist of it, but not the full details.¡± (Maria) ¡°Is it true?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Yes, it definitely is. I¡¯ve seen proof.¡± (Maria) ¡°What proof?¡± (Emelia) She started shaking Maria¡¯s shoulders as she pleaded. ¡°A picture in the master¡¯s room.¡± (Maria) Maria was dizzy after all the shaking. ¡°Where is his room?¡± (Emelia) Maria shook herself. ¡°I can¡¯t tell you.¡± (Maria) ¡°Please.¡± (Emelia) ¡°No, I can¡¯t.¡± (Maria) Shook her head. ¡°Please.¡± (Emelia) ¡°No!¡± (Maria) This exchange went on for a while until Emelia bowed down. ¡°I¡¯m begging you!¡± (Emelia) *Mmmm* Finally Maria broke. ¡°Fine, but I¡¯ll show you the way, and be quiet when we get there.¡± (Maria) ¡°Thank you!¡± (Emelia) ¡°Luckily this is a night where the master¡¯s out.¡± (Maria) If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. After Maria cleaned off the table the two proceeded back to the Throne room of the castle. Emelia fully observed the throne room for the first time. It was a large room with a throne towards the back in regards to the main entrance. The throne was made of a black metal with a purple cushion. Maria led her to the door to the right of the throne that the Maou left through when they fought. *Shhh* ¡°Be quiet we are entering the southern part of the castle where the master lives.¡± (Maria) The two creeped through the halls of the castle passing by many empty rooms. Finally the two stopped before a door. ¡°This is the room be very quiet.¡± (Maria) ¡°Okay.¡± (Emelia) *Creak* Maria opened the door slowly and the two entered the room. Emelia looked around the room. The design was much the same as her room except there was a picture atop the dresser in front of the mirror. Emelia walked up to the picture as Maria looked around nervously. When she got to it Emelia picked the picture up and as she looked at it she saw a group of 11 teenagers. At the center of the picture was The Saint Sophia, and holding her right hand¡ was the Maou. ¡°It¡¯s true.¡± ¡®I¡¯ve seen this exact photo depicting the Saint and her friends in their younger days.¡¯ (Emelia) Emelia had the truth sitting undeniably before her. ¡°The Maou was human.¡± (Emelia) ¡°Emelia~~~~.¡± (Maria) Emelia set the photo down and turned around to see the Maou standing directly before her. ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) (Maou) The Maou looked at the picture she had been holding and then at Maria. ¡°Let¡¯s go.¡± (Maria) Maria tried to drag Emilia away. ¡°No! I wish to speak to Maou¡± (Emelia) Emilia stomped her foot and stated. The Maou looked at her. ¡°Tomorrow, lunch¡¡± (Maou) Stated lazily as he went to bed. Emilia was about to say something, but with Maria¡¯s insistence she nodded and walked out with her. The two arrived back at Emelia¡¯s room where Maria helped her to change into sleep wear. ¡°Why couldn¡¯t we speak then?¡± (Emelia) ¡°The master was tired, he¡¯s been busy all day.¡± (Maria) ¡°With what? He¡¯s so lazy what does he do?¡± (Emelia) ¡°He¡¯s not lazy! Not today at least¡¡± (Maria) ¡°What do you mean? What was he doing?¡± (Emelia) ¡°He was sealing the hellgate of course!¡± (Maria) Chapter 7- Maous POV Last chapter of the day. Here is the events from the Maou''s perspective. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Maou¡¯s POV *Yawn* ¡®How long will this person take?!¡¯ (Maou) The Maou had been sitting upon his throne for a few hours now observing the castle with his energy. He had been waiting on his throne ever since the hero first entered his castle. ¡°No, continue straight you fool! It obviously is wider to show it leads somewhere important. Why are you turning right?¡± (Maou) The Maou was beginning to get annoyed with the hero¡¯s lack of direction. In all of his years as the Maou he had never had a hero who had such a bad sense of direction that they couldn¡¯t reach his throne within an hour of entering the Castle. ¡°I left a sign showing the path to the throne room¡ How can you take the wrong turn every time?!¡± (Maou) The Maou shook his head in annoyance. ¡®What is wrong with her?¡¯ (Maou) *Yawn* ¡°I give up¡ I¡¯m taking a nap.¡± (Maou) _____________________________________________________________________________________ *Dong* *Dong* *Dong* Today was the day. He stood there in a suit and tie awaiting his soon to be bride. ¡®Finally, we will be together forever.¡¯ (???) Man. All his friends were there. It was finally there time. The door opened and a beautiful woman in a white wedding dress begun walking in next to an older gentleman. She held a bouquet of crimson roses that matched her hair and eyes. Wedding music could be heard as she gracefully walked towards him. Soon her hand was given to him by the older gentleman. The two then stood before the priest and said their vows. ¡°Do you Sophia take this man, Tsuneo, to be you¡¯re lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish in sickness or in health until death do you part?¡± (Priest) ¡°I do.¡± (Sophia) ¡°Do you Tsuneo take this woman, Sophia, to be you¡¯re lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish in sickness or in health until death do you part?¡± (Priest) ¡°I do.¡± (Tsuneo) The two exchange rings. ¡°I now pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride.¡± (Priest) The two lean in to kiss¡ _____________________________________________________________________________________ Maou¡¯s POV Maou felt something shaking him from his slumber. ¡°Hey wake up, this place is dangerous you shouldn¡¯t be sleeping here.¡± (???) *groan* ¡°Five more weeks please.¡±(Maou) The shaking continued, but he just went back to sleep. The shaking stopped abruptly. ¡®Finally I can sleep¡¯ (Maou) ¡°WAKE UP!¡±(???) He jumped up in surprise and looked right at the person. It was a young girl with crimson hair and ruby eyes that pierced through all they saw. ¡°Who are you?¡±(Maou) ¡®Why did you show up now? I was having such a great dream, right at the best part too.¡¯ (Maou) ¡°That¡¯s what I should be asking¡± (???) ¡°Besides, shouldn¡¯t you introduce yourself before you go and ask for someone else¡¯s name?¡± (???) The woman said curtly. ¡®Annoying.¡¯(Maou) The maou nodded and begun to talk. ¡°I am Tsuneo Satan, king of hell and ruler of the demonkin.¡± He said with authority. She jumped back quickly and drew her sword in a flash. The fire of anger soon overtook her. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°And who are you?¡±(Maou) He said lazily. She angrily replied ¡°I am the Hero Emelia, and I will be your end!¡± (Emelia) ¡®Oh, the hero finally got here, huh.¡¯ (Maou) *yawn* ¡°Oh, I see.¡±(Maou) He replied while hardly acknowledging the weight behind her words. ¡°WHAT ARE YOU DOING I AM HERE TO KILL YOU! STOP ACTING CARELESS!¡±(Emelia)She dashed forward and in a flash reached him and swung down her blade. The two ¡®fought¡¯ for a few minutes with him dodging with little effort. Eventually she powered up but the result was the same. ¡®Weak as usual. Can those church idiots ever send anyone of worth?¡¯ (Maou) Finally, she swung her blade with all of her remaining power behind it at him for one last desperate strike. ¡°Die!¡± (Emelia) she screamed out. As she swung with all her might her hair fluttered out of her face revealing her beauty. The Maou was about to dodge as usual when he saw her face and his eyes widened as he paused in his place. ¡®Her face, it¡¯s¡¡¯ (Maou) The Maou payed no mind to Emelia¡¯s attack as he stared into her eyes. His head was leaning to the left with the sword up against the right side of his neck. A single drop of blood rolled down his neck and down his shirt. ¡®She¡ Is it her?¡¯ (Maou) He looked into her surprised eyes and, ignoring the sword, reached to her face slowly. ¡®That look in her eyes¡¡¯ (Maou) Emelia quickly retreated from him, but he was already in front of her before she could react. ¡®My precious one.¡¯ (Maou) Emelia closed her eyes quickly in fear. ¡®Please don¡¯t fear me my love.¡¯ (Maou) Soon his hand reached her face and brushed her hair away trying to comfort her. Slowly her eyes opened. ¡®Those ruby eyes.¡¯ (Maou) The Maou was looking at her with warm eyes and whispered. ¡°Sophia¡¡± ¡®My love.¡¯ (Maou) ¡°Why haven¡¯t you killed me? Why are you looking at me like that!?¡± (Emelia) She begun at a whisper and was yelling out the last word at the end. The Maou soon came out of his daze by the end of her sentence. ¡®It¡¯s not her. She died long ago¡¯ (Maou) He shook his head in sadness. ¡°You remind me¡ of her¡¡± He whispered. ¡°What?¡± (Emelia) Asked having been unable to hear him. ¡®That¡¯s right, she¡¯s dead, and she¡¯s the Saint and I the Maou. I can never be with her¡¡¯ (Maou) He slowly shook his head and begun to walk away. ¡°Where are you going!? This fight is not over!¡± (Emelia) She called out. ¡®I can¡¯t bear to harm her. Even if she only looks like her¡¡¯ (Maou) He shook his head. ¡°It is, and you know it.¡± (Maou) He responded with a look of sadness as he walked away from her. Soon he had left through a door to the left of the throne chamber. The door closed behind him with a thud. ¡°How did it go Master?¡± (Sebastian) Maou didn¡¯t look at Sebastian and simply said. ¡°It went fine, send Maria to care for the hero for the remainder of her stay here.¡± (Maou) ¡°As you will Master.¡± (Sebastian) Sebastian walked away to complete his work. The Maou soon reached his bedroom and lay down. ¡®That girl looks just like her¡ but it¡¯s not. She died long ago. I saw it.¡¯ (Maou) He tossed and turned as he slowly slipped into sleep. Chapter 8- Hellgate Here''s chapter 8. Hopefully I''ll have 9 out later today. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ ¡°I hate you!¡± (???) A woman screamed out. He stood there in the rain staring at her. ¡®Sophia¡¡¯ (???) ¡°Why are you here, how dare you show your face before me!¡± (Sophia) The man stood silently unable to responds. The woman continued to shout. ¡°Why did you have to exist, Why did you have to choose our year to cause trouble!¡± (Sophia) ¡®I didn¡¯t.¡¯ (???) ¡°You killed the only man I ever loved!¡± (Sophia) ¡®I couldn¡¯t¡¯ (???) ¡°I HATE YOU.¡± (Sophia) ¡®I love you¡¡¯ (???) _____________________________________________________________________________________ Castle Oblivion day 4 after fight. Maou¡¯s POV He awoke from his sleep with light shining on him from the window. *Nnnn* He got up and begun to stretch. *Yawwwnnn* He looked up and begun to recall the events of the previous day. *Tap* *Tap* *Tap* *Creak* ¡°Master, it is about time you get up, it is already time.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°Oh, Thanks for the reminder.¡± (Maou) He followed Sebastian out the door and the two begun to walk through the halls. ¡°What happened with that girl, I mean the hero?¡± (Maou) ¡°Master, she and Maria have begun to get along splendidly. She seems to really be just a pure young girl.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°Good.¡± (Maou) They continue on through the halls heading up flights of stairs when the two are about to turn a corner and they bump into someone. *Thud* Before Maou was the one taking up a lot of his thoughts. Emelia¡¯s eyes widened and she begun to look down avoiding eye contact. ¡®Sophia¡ No, her name was Emelia.¡¯ (Maou) He shook his head. ¡°What are you doing here?¡± (Maou) ¡®Is she lost?¡¯ (Maou) ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) ¡°Miss, are you looking for something here?¡± (Sebastian) Emelia looked up nervously to see the source of the voice. ¡®Cute.¡¯ (Maou) The Maou turned his head away in embarrassment at the thought. Behind Maou Sebastian came out. ¡°It¡¯s okay miss, I won¡¯t bite.¡± (Sebastian) She looked towards the Maou, but he avoided eye contact. ¡°I¡¯m looking for the art gallery on the 2nd floor.¡± (Emelia) Answered nervously. The butler¡¯s eyes widened and then the Maou begun talking with him quietly. ¡°She seems to have a very bad sense of direction. It took her nearly 12 hours just to reach the throne room.¡± (Maou) ¡°Oh¡ I see.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°She¡¯s most likely lost, can you please guide her? I will meet you later at the hellgate.¡± (Maou) ¡°I am not lost!¡±(Emelia) ¡°Of course you are not miss, but please allow me to guide you¡ for my own comfort. I am Sebastian by the way.¡± (Sebastian) Sebastian bowed with his right hand on his chest. ¡°Fine.¡± (Emelia) They separated from there and the Maou continued until he reached the highest spire in the castle. From there he could see nearly everything in the demon realm From the Arachnid Mountains, to the North, all the way to the Serpent¡¯s sea, to the South. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. He stared toward the East and closed his eyes. ¡®Teleport.¡¯ When he opened his eyes before him was a black arch covered in inscriptions and rusty chains. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjkz-XYpufNAhVO92MKHUs2Cp8QjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fcouplandrob%2Fancient-arches%2F&psig=AFQjCNHm9C-K-joIe0iUrwTgHWJ8ikmH_Q&ust=1468185326291253 [Like this] ¡°Time to begin.¡± (Maou) He lifted his arms and begun to focus his energy. Soon he had focused enough energy into his arms and begun to tune it together with the energy in the environment. The air around him swirled with him at the epicenter as the energy flowed all around him. ¡®Now to slowly unlock the seal.¡¯ (Maou) He begun to insert the energy from one arm into the chains and they slowly begun to unravel. As they came apart one by one he begun to replace them at the same pace with newer looking chains. As the old chains hit the floor they would disperse into energy. The arch was now covered in new chains. ¡®Now for the final touch.¡¯ (Maou) *Hah* *hahhh* He was sweating profusely now and his breath was haggard, but he continued. He then inserted the remainder of the energy into the chains. After expending all of his energy he begun to collapse. *Plop* He was caught by a pair of hands. ¡°Are you okay Master?¡± (Sebastian) ¡°I¡¯ll¡ be fine.¡± (Maou) ¡°Allow me to help you back.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°Thanks.¡± (Maou) It was night by time they got back to the castle. It had taken so long only because neither had the energy to teleport after he had expended his energy and Sebastian had teleported to get there. The Maou felt well enough and walked himself back to his room. As he got there he saw that it was open a little. ¡®That¡¯s odd.¡¯ (Maou) He opened the door and in front of him was Maria with a worried look and Emelia holding something. ¡°The Maou was human.¡± (Emelia) He took a look closer at those words and saw what she was holding. ¡®That picture¡¡¯ (Maou) ¡°Emelia~~~~.¡± (Maria) Emelia set the photo down at the sound of Maria¡¯s voice and turned towards the Maou. ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) (Maou) The Maou looked at the picture she had been holding again and then at Maria. ¡°Let¡¯s go.¡± (Maria) Maria tried to drag Emilia away. ¡°No! I wish to speak to Maou¡± (Emelia) Emilia stomped her foot and stated. The Maou looked at her. ¡®I¡¯m too tired to deal with this now.¡¯ (Maou) ¡°Tomorrow, lunch¡¡± (Maou) Stated tiredly as he went to bed. Emilia was about to say something, but with Maria¡¯s insistence she nodded and walked out with her. ¡®She saw it¡ Now what?¡¯ (Maou) He was too tired to continue the thought and was asleep before he knew it. Chapter 9- Questioning and Departure Only chapter of the day. BTW I saw your theories, very interesting, but please note that Tsuneo has been the Maou for over a Millennia and I never stated that the Maou directly killed Emelia''s parents. Enjoy! ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Castle Oblivion day 4. (Night) Emelia¡¯s POV ¡°Hellgate?¡± (Emelia) ¡°You haven¡¯t heard of the hellgate before?¡± (Maria) She tilted her head in confusion. ¡°No, what is that?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Well the hellgate is the main connection between the demon realm and the mortal realm.¡± (Maria) ¡°Isn¡¯t that the moral rift?¡± (Emelia) ¡°That may be what it is called on your end of the gateway.¡± (Maria) ¡°Wait, what do you mean he¡¯s sealing it, why would he want to seal the main path that demons take to enter my realm?¡± (Emelia) Asked seriously. ¡°Well that would be because he doesn¡¯t want the demons to enter your realm.¡± (Maria) ¡°Why doesn¡¯t he want the demons to enter my realm after all he is the Maou, the evil that is bent on taking over the three realms!?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Don¡¯t call him evil! He doesn¡¯t even want to rule this realm let alone any other!¡± (Maria) Screamed out. ¡°¡¡± (Emelia) Maria calmed down. ¡°I¡¯m sorry for raising my voice.¡± (Maria) She said as her wings lowered. Emelia also lowered her head. ¡°No, I¡¯m sorry for saying things without knowing anything.¡± (Emelia) ¡°It¡¯s just¡ He is the one who helped me most. He¡¯s like a sort of brother to me. When I was alone after my parents past away I lived on the streets. I had no family around me and at the mere age of 8 I had no skills I could use to work. All I could do is beg until one day he appeared. He took me in and gave me a home. I¡ I just couldn¡¯t stand you talking bad about him.¡± (Maria) Emelia paused and begun to talk again. ¡°According to the history of my world over a Millennia ago when the Saint was traveling the world and killing demons she sealed the moral rift in order to protect us. This was known as the great sealing and it caused a long period of peace that lasted until just recently¡¡± (Emelia) Her voice faded off at the last few words. Maria remembered her talk with Emelia in the bath, but soon answered Emelia. ¡°As you stated the ¡®moral rift¡¯ as you call it was sealed in order to stop demons from crossing over in large numbers, but that was done by the Maou, not the Miss Sophia.¡± (Maria) ¡°¡I see. Then if he sealed it long ago then why is it weakening now.¡± (Emelia) ¡°Because even if it¡¯s him he cannot create a permanent seal.¡± (Maria) ¡®Another thing to ask him about later.¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°Thanks for answering my questions.¡± (Emelia) ¡°You¡¯re welcome. It¡¯s about time to sleep now.¡± (Maria) She got up and closed the curtains. ¡°Okay, good night Maria.¡± (Emelia) Maria was walking towards the door. ¡°Good night Emelia.¡± (Maria) She said as she closed the door behind her. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Castle Oblivion day 5 (Noon) Mixed POV Emelia and Maou were both in the dining room eating lunch. The two were alone in the room after Sebastian and Maria had left after bringing in there food. The two were silent, Emelia was too nervous to say anything. ¡®About time to start.¡¯ (Maou) Finally, the Maou spoke. ¡°What do you wish to know?¡± (Maou) ¡°Um¡¡± (Emelia) ¡®Where do I start?¡¯ (Emelia) The Maou continued to wait until finally she spoke. ¡°How and why did you become the Maou?¡± (Emelia) He paused and then began to answer. He explained that he had been in his third year at school and the school¡¯s dorm tournament had taken place and they had won. At that time the Maou had attacked to attempt to take over the school for its magic hotspot. While he had defeated the Maou it came at a cost. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°When I dealt the finishing blow his energy begun to disperse, and the god at the time appeared to tell me that someone must take up the mantle of the Maou. There were only two who could do so. He told me everything that would happen as a result, but I had no choice¡ I had to protect her.¡± (Maou) She could see the sadness deep in his eyes. This ¡®human¡¯ emotion caused her to be less weary around him. ¡®That¡¯s¡¡¯ (Emelia) She continued her questioning after a thought. ¡°Why did you seal the hellgate?¡± (Emelia) The Maou begun to answer the moment the question had left her mouth. ¡°I sealed it so that there would be no risk of the people of the mortal realm and the demon realm going to war and to lower the amount of monsters flowing from this realm to the mortal realm.¡± (Maou) ¡°I see, then why have there been increasing numbers of monsters in my realm as well as attacks by the demonic monsters!¡± (Emelia) ¡°¡What do you mean?¡± (Maou) ¡°I mean what I said. There have been organized attacks of small towns and villages starting 10 years ago!¡± (Emelia) ¡°That shouldn¡¯t be possible¡ As of now no rift in space exists that is big enough to allow a large enough force of monsters to go through for an organized attack.¡± (Maou) Emelia was surprised at this answer and her anger began to subside. ¡®If not him then who caused those attacks?¡± (Emelia) The Maou began to ponder over the matter. ¡°Someone must be transporting the demons in a way that even I cannot sense.¡± (Maou) He stood there silently for a few minutes. ¡°I need to investigate this! Sebastian!¡± (Maou) ¡°Wait. I still¡¡± (Emelia) Maria and Sebastian entered the room. ¡°Yes, Master.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°I am going to prepare it, I must leave to investigate some things.¡± (Maou) The Maou quickly walked out the room. ¡°What¡¯s going on?!¡± (Emelia) ¡°The Master is preparing a seal to allow him to leave the castle without the seal on the hellgate collapsing.¡± (Sebastian) ¡®To investigate huh.¡¯ (Emelia) ¡°We have a favor to ask you miss.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°What?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Could you please go with the master on this journey?¡± (Sebastian) He said as he was bowed completely to the floor. ¡°Wait, what?!¡± (Emelia) ¡°Please!¡± (Maria) She too bowed to the floor. ¡°Wait stand up, why would you even want me to go? I tried to kill him!¡± (Emelia) ¡°You¡¯re the only one whom I have seen bring out emotions in him in over five centuries. Please, I wish you to accompany him. He hasn¡¯t been himself in a long time and you brought out a glimpse of the former him. I beg you!¡± (Sebastian) She finally could not stand to see them on the ground anymore. *Mmm* ¡°Fine! I¡¯ll go just stand up already!¡± (Emelia) ¡°Thank you, miss {Emelia}.¡± (Sebastian) (Maria) ¡°It¡¯s fine¡¡± *Haah* (Emelia) ¡°Please prepare to go miss. He will be leaving soon.¡± (Sebastian) ¡°Here is your sword. You might need it. After all there are good and bad Demonkin.¡± (Maria) Maria handed over Emelia¡¯s sword. ¡°We¡¯ll lead the way miss, please follow us.¡± (Sebastian) The three went to the highest spire in the castle. On the way they past the throne room where a sword sat at the center. Soon they reached their destination. There they saw the Maou. ¡°Oh, why are you here?¡± (Maou) ¡°I¡¯m¡ I¡¯m coming with you!¡± (Emelia) She declared. ¡°But¡fine, come along.¡± (Maou) He grabbed Emelia¡¯s hand and magic begun to flow. ¡°What¡?¡± (Emelia) ¡°Good by Emelia! {Miss}¡± (Maria) (Sebastian) The two soon disappeared.
