《The new dark sovereign》
1-The beginning
Very few people know the exact situation of our world.
Some say there is only one planet, some say there is only one plane of existance, other think that as long as you become strong enough you can ascend to godhood.
They¡¯re all right and at the same time wrong, because only on some planets is present the energy necessary to train one¡¯s own body to the peak, to the point they can literally destroy their own worlds, fortunately when a being becomes that powerful, the heavens send a trial.
Pass it and ascend, fail it and return to nothing.
Among the countless life forms, in the countless years only seven beings managed to reach the real peak of strength.
They¡¯re called sovereign, and no one knows if it¡¯s coincidence or not, but they all represent the peak of an element: fire, air, water, earth, lightning, light and dark.
People know that in the vast universe there are still many undiscovered elements, but because of their rarity and the fact that there is no sovereign with those elements, every element apart from the primary seven is considered useless.
For those who know the strength ranking, sovereigns are their Gods, they are immortals and have the power to destroy whole words with just a flick on a finger or a sneeze.
-Then why am I dying?-
Looking at this body, one could only describe it with the word: decaying.
-How can the other sovereign still be fine? I was the last to ascend 20 trilions years ago and I¡¯m already in this situation¡ pathetic-
In reality, the being knew why he was slowly dying¡ simply put he didn¡¯t want to live anymore, or more like, he didn¡¯t have anything that interested him anymore.
He had once been weak and naive, however that only got him nearly killed, so he became strong and cunning in order to get revenge; then he decided to follow that road until the end.
He embraced the darkness and dominated everything, nothing was wrong for him, he would use everything and everyone for his goal and would never leave anyone alive in his path.
The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
When he finally stopped, he was alone at the top, with nor enemies or friends he reached his goal.
However, the being had forgotten something: no one is supposed to live alone, else everything would lose purpose; he tought it wouldn¡¯t matter, he was betrayed too many times and his soul had already became of the same color of the element he used: pitch black.
It was better to stay alone; at most when he was really bored, he would create or find and practice some new techniques, he would also learn what he didn¡¯t know as long as he could.
How much wrong could he be, he would slowly understand it in 20 trillions years, and it would lead him to his actual situation.
In order to not die, the Dark sovereign decided to once again take interest in the world.
A day was enough for him to see everything that happened to him once again: brothers that would betray each other, arrogant people who used someone else power as theirs, cowards who would beg their most hated enemy for their lifes, endless killing.
For hundreds of years the sovereign watched their struggles, but nothing changed, everything was as the dark sovereign remembered it; nothing more, nothing less.
He was going to really wait for his death when his gaze reached one lonely planet of the lower planes; that planet had very little Qi (tough they called it mana) and their civilization was rather advanced.
Tough its technology being rather advanced, the population of the planet was divided between cities and villages.
The peoples in the cities were normally safe as the demon beasts could not reach them, but the villages were anything but safe.
And in the middle of a village, the was a little girl with the biggest and purest soul the Dark sovereign had ever seen.

2-The life of a pure soul
To the ones who read my other novel: I''ll write chapters for it when inspiration hits me, I don''t have as much time as before to write, I don''t even know if I can update the new story daily, so I don''t know when I''ll write the Undead who yearned for life.
The girl had blonde hair and a slim waist, while her womanly parts were not that developed, the sovereign could already foresee that she would become a beauty given some years.
As for why the sovereign took interest on her, it could be explained as the lack of other affinities in the girl.
In all the different planes and planets, the beings who only had one affinity were very rare, and they all possessed the most latent talent among their peers.
This being said, no one possessed only one affinity at 100%, it could already be considered divine having an affinity of 80% to the element, the last 20% is a mix of all the other elements.
No one knows if one own attitude and behaviour influence one''s affinity or if the affinity influences one''s own behaviour, it''s like asking who came first between the egg and the chicken.
Only sovereigns know that in order to ascend, it''s necessary to completely embrace one own element and dao, eliminating everything else.
Just like a person can''t have the light affinity and use it to kill wantomly without a reason or a person who has the fire affinity can''t battle in a coldheaded manner, else they will never reach the peak of their strength.
So, what would happen if a person only had the light affinity 100% without anything else?
This picked up the Dark sovereign''s curiosity.
Not even the sovereign himself realized it, but at this moment the slow deterioration of his body stopped completely and the darkness around the village increased.
The girl was an orphan, but she was adopted by one family of the village; sadly they treated her like a labourer and gave her only the least amount of food to not let her die... this when they didn''t beat her or send her to sleep without food.
The girl wasn''t stupid, she knew that her foster parents didn''t look at her as a daughter, however her heartfelt smile never waned and she always tought that the next day would be better than today.
It never happened.
The other children of the village started to pick on her because she didn''t have parents and the adults just let it go, in the beginning she had a best friend, but she betrayed her one day by revealing all her childish secrets.
That night at the light of a candle was the first time the girl ever cried.
Unknown to the girl, the darkness around her grew thicker and shut down the candle, enveloping her. Once in the dark, the cries came to an end while the tears dried, while for the first time the girl felt safe she dozed off.
The next day, her usual smile was once again on her face.
She tought those days would continue, but fate likes to joke, during her fiftieth winter, demon wolves invaded the vilage during the night searching for food... in a moment people started to ran in all direction.
The girl and her family weren''t an exception.
While running in the forest with the demon wolves approaching from the village, her brother tripped the girl thinking that the least she could do after being taken care by his family was to act as a bait to let them escape.
After the girl fell, she could see that no one in her family stopped to help her, and the wolves were nearing.
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
The girl ran and ran, and although her physique had grown strong as a result of all the work she did, she still had a limit; when her strength left her the girl sit near a tree, waiting for death with a smile on her face.
Even now she easily forgave everyone, even her family.
That smile hit the sovereign like a hammer, how could she still smile and forgive in this situation? Although he was surprised, the sovereign could do nothing to save the girl, the rules implemented by the seven of them were clear: the sovereigns can''t meddle with the lower realms, else they would be killed by the other six.
This being said, the girl could feel the darkness around her become ticker, and when the wolves came, they simply passed near her without noticing anything strange.
In the middle of everything, the girl fell asleep.
The girl didn''t wake up until the next night, when her hunger woke her up. She didn''t know how much time passed, but it was dark again; she was going to walk in a random direction, but something told her not to; it was like three out of four direction were blocked by the darkness, so she walked in the only direction left.
Following it, she began her journey; she din''t know how or why, but by following the direction, she would always find food and water, while not once she met any danger.
This surprised her just as much it surprised the Dark sovereign.
Her journey lasted fo a year, during which she learned how to hunt, how to skin, how to craft bows and how to sew from people she met thanks to the darkness'' guidance, which only her could feel; not even the Dark sovereign could feel it... or maybe he was doing it subconsciously.
In the end, the girl managed to reach a city and enter it, while the strange feeling that guided her disappeared.
From that day on, the girl could feel safe only when in absolute darkness.
After reaching the city, by a series of coincidences she began to learn light magic in a church, becoming the church''s saint... however she could not escape her fate; she was too kind and forgiving, she could neither use attack or defence magic, only healing.
Because of that, she was lied to, conned and betrayed multiple times, but she never sought revenge, which simply encourged people to fool her even more in a vicious circle.
Sometimes the darkness would happear again to save her, but why or from what, she never understood, she limited herself to not go in the direction the darkness blocked.
Then, one day while roaming in the streets, she saw a child being threatened with a dagger in an alley, so she decided to save him... never would she have imagined that it was a plan of her own church to kill her and the child was one of the actors.
The last thing she saw before dying were some clergymen give the boy a few silver.
Her last tought was -Ah, I hope he can now live well-.
Just as the life left her, her soul got pulled somewhere accross the planes, everything blurred and when she finally stopped, the only thing she could see was a handsome young man who angrily looked at her, and then he spoke.
"WHY?"

3- The Dao of darkness
"WHY?" roared the Dark sovereign.
"I watched you since when you were a kid, I saw you getting betrayed, humiliated, hit; I saw you suffer and I saw you cry, then why even after everything you went through you can still smile from the bottom of your heart? How can you still forgive even in your death, how come your soul is still so pure?"
The Dark sovereign''s pent up frustation gushed out without stopping: "They lied, they betrayed, they hurt you, and even then, never once did you desire vengance, you always kept forgiving them time and time again; even I, the sovereign of Darkness felt pity and anger while watching your life... both feeling I did not felt for the last 20 trillions of years".
Though harsh words were being trown at her, the girl could feel the warmness in them... this only increased the Dark sovereingn''s rage, how could a girl be so passive?
"Speak, I want to hear your reason, it''s because of that that I bringed you here".
The girl could only show her heartfelt smile and answer: "It''s because this is my nature, I know that there is something wrong with me, but I could never bring myself to dislike anyone, not to mention hate"
The woman loked straight at the being in front of her; she could feel that he was someone omnipotent and his look matched that feeling, she could also feel a sense of familiarity with him, the same that she had when she was alone in the dark.
She felt safe.
And she felt his loneliness; like the darkness that one can find everywhere... a weak darkness who had no purpose, different from the usual one which felt warm.
"For you it may sound strange, but I don''t even know how does it feel to dislike someone, I''m different from you" the girl heartfelt smile became one of self-mocking: "you govern the most powerful element, while I can only use the weakest of them".
The sovereign started laughing: "The weakest element? Don''t you know the relationship between elements? The five elements counter and aid each other, meanwhile light and darkness govern them while endangering each other".
At this moment the girl smiled once again, while looking at the Dark sovereign with pity... this look of hers angered him to no end, but then she asked: "do you really think so?"
When was the last time someone questioned his knowledge? The sovereign could not remember. What''s more, she did so while looking as if he was a child who still had not understood the world.
This scene would not be so strange if one of the two part wasn''t the Dark sovereign who had immeasurable power and comprended a complete Dao.
Then she asked: "Have you ever watched a candle during the night? Doesn''t it seem that the darkness surrounding it is denser, thicker than where there is only darkness?"
The Dark sovereign didn''t even need to think about it: "sure, that''s because the darkness is trying to devour the light, while the light tries to fight back"
The girl chuckled: "so you see it like that? But what I see is completely different: I always tought that the darkness embraced the light, protecting it from everything else"
Those word shut up the sovereign, letting him think: -how come that what she sees is completely opposite from what I see when we look at the same thing? Why?-
The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
"Why do you say that the light is the weakest element?"
"Because it is, in this universe light alone cannot exist, it is always the byproduct of another element; as I see it light is what other elements use to resist darkness, and this will never change... maybe it''s because of that that I always ended up being lied to and used by others" said the girl.
The sovereign stopped to reflect on what the girl just said: -Such a strange way to see the relationship between elements... I can''t say if it''s beatiful or simply sad; however it''s wrong-
"It''s impossible that what you say is right, I always had a more difficult time while trying to kill ligh-Qi immortals and saint beasts; this is a fact"
-Why is she looking at me with those eyes again?- tought the Dark sovereign, then she started to talk: "the darkness is meant to protect the light, it was never meant to suppress the light. Because of that when you tried to kill someone with the light affinity your own element tried to stop you from doing it"
-This... could it be that I was wrong all along?-
"No, you are not wrong in your path, but from my viewpoint the path you have chosen is the weakest one of the dark paths; the dark element is the strongest element, one that can''t be bothered to interact with other element. Just by existing the dark element subdue every other element, but when the dark element finds the light it wants to protect... the other elements shouldn''t even think about harming that light"
Without even noticing it, the brightness coming from the soul of the girl increased: "just like the darkness around the candle is thicker, so it is the one around a campfire, same thing with the sun. I can feel it... my darkness was you, but because of your path you were too weak to protect me-
With a smile, the brightness around the girl increased even more and with it the darkness around her: "though I''m a bit hopeless, I promise to become your light again if there is a next life, so I really hope that you''ll become strong enough to protect me... my darkness"
With those words the soul disappeared, he could not keep her with him any longer so he let her soul go in the reincarnation circle while still being stunned from her words.
-Am I really that weak?-
At that moment, a Dao seed came down from the heavens; within this Dao seed the same principles of what the girl just said were present.
"So it is really like this: there is not only one way to reach the peack of power, and diferent routes lead to different results"
In that moment in every single plane and world the countless life forms heard a laughter coming from the shadows around them; this event would be known as the hell laughter day.
-She said that I must protect her in her next life, but as I am now I can''t fulfill that promise... it seems that I did not wait 20 trillions of years in vain-
Probably for the first time in his life, the Dark sovereign had a smile on his face and was rather eager to do something: -I must make some preparations for my reincarnation-
4-Preparations
-Mmm... in order to rise again, I must temper the body I''ll be born into and build a great foundation-
Only the seven sovereogns knew this, but actually the one with the most perfect foundation amongst them was exactly the Dark sovereign who possessed 3 times the power of a normal sovereign; however the title of foundation was only a way to say that his foundation was more powerful.
In reality it was a slightly better mediocre foundation.
All the sovereign mastered a dao, but by no means they were the most powerful beings amongst their peers before becoming a sovereign, quite the opposite in reality. However thanks to that pressure, fortuitous encounters and luck, they managed to ascend.
The same thing could be said for the Dark sovereign, his foundation was shaky at best and it was still better than the other sovereigns; this being said the realm of a sovereign was too much apart from the previous one.
-Maybe it''s because of that that we couldn''t ascend to the next plane-
All the other six sovereign thought that they reached the apex, but he was not like them; he knew that there would be something more but cultivation was like building a tower: the foundation determinates how high can you reach.
There was no way he could add another floor to his shaky tower, not to mention that the floor he needed to add would be even bigger than the rest of the tower.
Because of all of that, he decided to build a solid foundation this time.
The power of an individual could be measured by the skills he learned and the amount of Qi he possess in order to use them in battle; during cultivation your dantian start as a cup while expanding more and more until one reach the and possess a spiritual lake inside one''s own dantian.
How big is the lake and how big is the river which replenish the lake is determined by the cultivation method that is used.
However, when the Dark sovereign ascended, he found out that his previous lake was merely rain drop of his new ocean of energy; the problem was that his remained the same, because of that all the sovereign did their utmost to not battle between them and to not use their energy... it was also why the world had 7 sovereigns and not only 1.
This was also why all the other sovereign didn''t want to reincarnate.
Who would want to fight again all the way to the top after tasting endless (more or less) powers? And even if they wanted to do it in order to build better foundations, would they be able to reach the top and ascend again? How many times did they tread the fine line between life and death during their lifes? How many geniuses did they see die while they survived?
It was not worth it for them... but what about the Dark sovereign? He was so close to die even as a sovereign and even though he was now safe he would still die if nothing was done, so why not gamble it all?
Use that immense power to prepare a path of slaughter to reach the heavens again, fool all the other sovereigns who knew of his situation and be reborn as a genius.
But this time he would follow a different path.
The problem was that the Dark sovereign couldn''t know in which body he will be reborn, and he couldn''t meddle with all the beings in the universe... what''s more, he could be reborn after one day or ten thousand years.
-Then why don''t I meddle directly with my soul?-
The very same thing has already been attempted by countless lower life forms once they reached a certain cultivation, but not even once they managed to do it, because the reincarnation circle would destroy the souls which tried to bring an unfair advantage from their past lives.
They could retain memories and even change their own attribute roots (which was already an advantage), but no one who tried to strengthen their body by using the soul ever succeeded in passing the doors of reincarnation.
-Then what if I infect my soul with a disease?-
He decided to gamble on the fact that because the disease would try to kill the body he will be reborn into, it would be allowed to travel with him accross the reincarnation''s door.
Deathbell fever.
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
That was the name of one of the most deadly diseases in all planes; once a newborn contracted it, it would be a death sentence.
Very few beings studied this disease, and what they found out was that it wold cause the body to fight with itself and nothing would be spared in their body... before the disease could kill the newborn the pain would do the job.
17-18 trillions years ago the Dark sovereign had a sudden interest in the human body and medicine in general, so he secretely grouped up some babies of the strongest beings of various planes and infected them.
The result? The disease would only last until the time the babies could start cultivating (8 years old in human case), but the most shocking discovery was another: during those years they suffered while the body fought itself, their body would be refined and strengthened to impossible degrees... to the point they didn''t possess even a trace of impurity in their bodies and their meridians gained 8 full years of , like if they were born in the moment they defeated the disease.
(Golden age: period of time where one''s own cultivation would increase faster than normal; in the human case the lasts until 20 years old).
8 full years of Golden age... it was enticing enough to even make the most saint person start a slaughterhouse.
Once that was done, the Dark sovereign decided to create a new cultivation method; one that would conform with the Dao seed that came after the girl went back in the reincarnation circle. In order for the new cultivation method to work, he would need to possess all the main attributes... but that would have to wait and be the last thing to change, because once he changed that his body would explode.
After changing his face and aura, the Dark sovereign then spent the next ten years wondering in the various planes while finding divine alchemist and commissioning them every kind of pill from the most basics of the first level until the most precious pill they could make.
He also commissioned many talisman, sword and everything else he could need.
Finally he visited many worlds in the various planes and set up many holy lands with enough defences to withstand even the explosion of that planet and could be open only with the right password... a word known to him only, something that no other being in the universe had the hope to come up with.
Still, it wasn''t enough; the Dark sovereign reinforced the barriers between the planes and stealthily created rails for the discharge of Qi that would follow his death; this would assure that whichever world he will be sent to, it would have enough Qi to permit cultivation and ascension.
-Well, the last thing in order to be reincarnate is to rearrange my memories-
The Dark sovereign knew that once he decided to die, his soul would need to pass through the Lete river, where one''s own memories would be erased... however, thanks to the massive amount of information he possessed, he would forget only the most recent memories.
How could he bear to forget what he just learned? Wouldn''t that defeat the purpose of reincarnating?
So the sovereign decided to rearrange his memories as a sphere; in the centre he would put things like the new cultivation method, the Dao seed, the position of the holy lands he set up and some very important skill, while things like his own past Dao would be put in the outermost circle with all the different kinds of food he ever tasted... it was better to forget some things before reincarnating in a lower realm.
Just think if after always eating the most luxurious food, you could only eat insects.
Impossible.
After rearranging everything, the Dark sovereign started to change his own attributes, causing the Qi in his body to go on a rampage.
Then it happened.
As the modified Dark sovereign''s soul flew to the door of reincarnation, all the power contained in his body exploded in all directions.
Some called this day Apocalypse, some other called it Armageddon while someone else called it the day of enlightment.
This day had many different names in many different worlds; but one thing stayed true for all of them: they all would remember and pass legends or songs about the day in which the daknesss covered everything.
5-Reborn
In a villa in the capital of the 3000 years old South kingdom a man was walking back and forth near a door since fifteen hours ago.
"Why the heavens send this tribulation to our family? It wasn''t enough for the child to be 4 months late, but now my wife is having difficulties in giving birth to it; what will I do if either of them gets injured?".
The face of the man that would normally be described as heroic was now full of worry with an ever growing number of wrinkles appearing over time, but how could the others not know what he was going through?
Since the time the waters of his wife didn''t break at the right time, the man continued to worry; it was only because he could sense the wellbeing of the baby in his wife belly and the occasional movement and/or punch or kick from his future son that he did not worry to death.
Because of that, once the water broke he became the happiest man alive... however his wife was trying to give birth since 15 hours ago and there were still no signs of succeeding.
Fortunately, he had invited some of the best doctors and midwifes to help with anything that would come up during this difficult night.
He was going to make another round trip near the door when he felt something change inside the room -Ah, fuck the clan rules, I should be near my wife in the difficult times, I''m going in-.
Just as the man was going to burst the door open, a cry came from inside the room followed by a midwife opening the entrance and inviting the man inside. Just after entering, a doctor gave him a boundle with his child inside.
It must be said, the are very few times when a man is allowed to cry, but the tears came naturally after the man made sure that the two most important people of his life were safe.
"Oh my dear, don''t you think that showing that kind of face when meeting your son for the first time is a little bit exaggerated? Do you think that you can show this little troublemaker to me?" asked the blond woman which was still on the bed.
It must be said that her mannerism showed how powerful her body was as any normal woman wouldn''t even be able to safely delieve the baby, much less staying awake and speaking.
Thanks to the happy mood, no one noted the eyes of the baby which seemed to contain infinite knowledge inside of them.
"I decided" said the new father with some tears still coming out "this child shall be called Lin"
-How embarassing- thought the baby -I''d never cry during my wife childbird-
How much was he wrong, he would find out only in a distant future.
Days passed while the child often cried, but no one worried about it as it was normal for some children to cry many times... no one knew the pain that little Lin was going through.
-Well, I can look at it as retribution for what I did to those children-
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Because of this problem, the first six months of Lin''s new life were spent like the ones of every other baby: eat (in order to mantain enough energy to keep up with the war in his body), cry (when the pain exceeded a certain amount) and sleep (more like passing out from the pain).
However, during those months Lin resistance to pain grew to the point he cold now think to other things apart from the pain in his body... not even in his previous life did he have this much tolerance; even though he would sometimes face death and be hacked, stabbed, slashed, pierced, ecc, all the injuries would heal to a reasonable degree given some days.
Then when he ascended there was no one able to inflict pain to him, so this was quite the awakening for the previous Dark sovereign; some things are better understood early and he now clearly understood that he was not invincible anymore.
Once Lin managed to bring the pain under control and being able to think to other things, his first decision was to cultivate.
Because the limits of the human body, Lin can''t really cultivate his strength before being 8 years old... however what Lin decided to cultivate is not his strength, but his potential.
When reincarnating, Lin severed his in pieces, greatly reducing his potential from a spirit root to seven spirit roots, of which 64% darkness and 6% each for the remaining 6 elements.
Spirit roots rapresent the talent a person has with that element and the rarity order is , , and ; each divided in three categories (low, middle, high).
Talent rapresent how fast and how pure can the Qi present in the world be refined and stored inside the human''s body; the percentage would rapresent how fast one can absorb and convert into one''s own element, while the quality of the spirit root influences the purity degree.
In the sects, a 1% spirit root is far more valuable than a 100% spirit root, this because there are always external methods that can help a cultivator cultivate faster.
When on the path of cultivation, after successfully refining the body and opening one''s own dantian, a cultivation method would be required in accordance with the best spirit roots the user possessed and together with one''s own spirit root they would determine the cultivator future.
The beings who knew that is possible to cultivate one''s own potential can be counted on a hand in the whole universe and even then, they could not use this method as it is possible to use it only before starting on the path of cultivation.
If even a strand of Qi were to be present in the body it would not work... more like, exactly because the human body can''t retain any Qi in the first 8 years of life, all the Qi gathered would nourish the spirit roots and not the body.
-And now... let''s get started-
6-First years of life
After the first six months, Lin not only started to cultivate, he also slowly understood the world and his family situation from the bits and pieces of his mother''s talk.
The world is called Casya and it''s quite large with three Empires and a number of "small" kingdoms, and his family was situated inside one of those kingdoms.
The family he was born into is a declining family of blacksmiths... not only that but the best mortal blacksmiths family in the world, the weapons personally crafted by the patriarch were comparable to the best low earth step weapons from the sects, while those crafted by the clansmen varied from low to high human step weapons.
Now, this achievement could seem quite dull, but the sect''s blacksmiths were all immortals which already opened their dantian and used precious metals as bases for the weapon they forged, however the patriarch was only at the 5th layer of body refinement and used only steel as the forging material.
Sometimes blacksmiths from various sects would come to watch the patriarch or other clan members craft in order to gain enlightenment depending on the blacksmith skill. Until now only one immortal asked to see the patriarch craft a weapon, and when he went away he left with the words: "though I still can''t fully comprend the great art that I was shown, I managed to take a glimpse at it, if the Qing family will ever need help, the sect will come without hesitation, no matter the foe"
When Lin heard about the situation, at first he found it a little strange how their family was able to survive in a world where might is right, but after hearing some history Lin understood: his family never moved away from their ancestral home and whoever conquered the land would be their client.
But what would happen to the kingdom or empire that would conquer them? They would start to arm their armies with superior weapons and armors... this should be good, but would the other powers just sit and watch? Nope, they would ally and take down the too powerful enemy.
After some reiterations of the same situation, the empires learned that in order to last they should not conquer that land, as for why they didn''t esterminate the Qing family? They had too many favours owned to them by powerful sects around the world.
Once another kingdom tried to kidnap a meember of the Qing family... after 2 days the ruling family and all the nobles implicated of that kingdom disappeared and the Lin family member safely returned to the clan.
As for why the sect didn''t rob them of their forging method? Somehow only the Qing family members could learn and develop the technique, it had something to do with the bloodline; however the members of their family were never able to form a dantian.
What''s more, if one sect made a move in order to recruit and monopolize the Qing family, all the other sect would come together and deal with it. After a few tries from different sects, it was decided that no one could touch their family and every sect would seldom send their craftmen to watch their forging methods and gain insights.
This way the Qing family became an effective Island of peace.
Though Lin understood how his family was able to survive, he had still many doubts on various things, but for now he could only wait to grow up or that his mother would talk about their situation some more.
During the 2nd year of Lin''s life, his parents finally understood that something was wrong; their son was always sickly and had a hard time in order to learn how to walk and do the most basic movements... though he did learn how to talk faster than any other children.
His intelligence had been a reason of happiness for their family until they finally called a doctor.
When the doctor took a look at the child body, he paled when he found that more or less everything inside the child''s body was being destroyed and rebuilt at an amazing speed... fortunately the speed t which the body was being repaired outstripped the one at which it was being teared down.
This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
-How is this child not screaming from the pain? No, how is he still alive? Not even the most powerful cultivator would want to go through the pain this child is experiencing every second, they would rather suicide-
The doctor tried to smile and confort the child: "from when did you start experiencing this pain?"
Lin tilted his head to think about the answer or like he didn''t understand the question: "Is it not supposed to hurt?"
That answer made everyone in the room freeze.
Lin''s parents didn''t understand what was wrong or how much pain was he suffering from, they only understood that their baby was suffering ever since he could remember and for him it was strange to not hurt... and they never knew!
They were so happy when their son was suffering, they didn''t deserve to be called parents; their guilt was already sky high.
"We should talk about it in another room" said the doctor while leaving Lin in his bed.
Lin''s parent followed him outside... this however did not stop him from hearing what they were talking about; thanks to his new body undergoing the tempering every sense was being refined to impossible degrees.
Only based in perception and the 5 senses he could already be compared to an early immortal, so he could easily hear his parents.
"Honored doctor, which illness does our son have, is it deadly?" though Lin''s parents didn''t understand the situation, they understood that it was something grave from the Doctor''s reaction when he visited their son.
The doctor had a serious and solemn look on his face: "frankly speaking, based on what I saw... your son should be long dead. His own body is killing and saving him continuosly and fortunately the speed at which his body is repairing itself is faster than the speed at which his body is destroying itself"
Lin''s parents didn''t understand the underlying meaning: "so everything is good then? I thought he was going to die, but if it''s as you said, then he''ll be able to live"
Though Lin''s mother said it, she already realized what his son was going through and started to cry.
"Is there a way to cure him?" asked Lin''s father, but the doctor shook his head; "As you know, in this world if I declare myself as the number 2 in the healing field, no one would dare say they''re number 1... and I can''t cure his illness. Your only hope is that little Lin can hold on until 8 years old and start cultivating, that way his body would grow more resistant and hopefully become too powerful for the illness to destroy his body"
As the doctor said, Lin''s parents had called in a favour in order to call the best immortal expert in the healing field and he had to come in order to give face and deepen his sect relationship with the Qing family, what''s more it was the son of the patrarch that needed help.
But who would have thought that even him could do nothing at all? Once his diagnosis was made there was no use in calling others.
After sending the expert off, Lin''s parents went to cuddle him, they also asked forgiveness for never noticing his situation.
Lin spent two days reassuring them that he could now resist the pain, he only needed to work on his motoric functions such as running some more and pass a lot of time in the bed.
Actually, that was half an excuse in order to cultivate more often... he already reached the high earth tier darkness spirit root, while the other spirit roots were at the middle earth tier. The gap would only grow with time, but he could do nothing about it.
He also needed to start making a triple seal in order to later fool the world... he also needed to get started in getting his body accustomed to various techniques.
Only six year of forging remained and Lin would mold his body as much as possible in this time.
7-Learning Tier 0 techniques
After the period ended, Lin found out that his parents were doing their best to keep him healty; they started to give him food of magical beasts, they changed his bed to a more confortable one as he needed to pass a lot of time in it and every so often they would check on him.
However, they knew that because of his illness Lin would never be like other children of his age, he would lose all the childhood period of his life and this filled them with sadness.
In reality, Lin could already walk and run without problems, he still had some problems with small movements of the finger or similar situations, but as of now he could do what most 2 years old children could... however no matter how you looked at it, there was a reason he would not be able to integrate: he was skinny.
Because of the disease entered in the 2nd phase one day after the expert doctor went away, now Lin looked like a ghost. Not that it disturbed him, but his parents got scared and were going to recall the elder... fortunately Lin managed to calm them down by saying that the pain lessened.
With that explanation, Lin''s parents thought that it was a sign of recovery and didn''t bring it up again, but if one looked carefully he could see their pained faces.
Unknown to Lin, some strange feeling started to bud in his heart for the first time from the interaction with his family; though Lin downplayed it a lot he could feel the boundless love of a mother and the silent caring of a father.
Not even him knew that it was in this moment that the decision to kill every unfilial son and heartless parent during his cultivation road was made.
No one in the clan knew, but it was during this period and thanks to the love and caring of the clan leaders for their son that decided the future rise of the Qing clan and will be later known as the clan with experts coming from all different planets in order to request a weapon from the junior apprendices of the clan.
Lin hid the fact that he could move until his 4th birthday, when he surprised everyone by walking and running... when his parents saw on little Lin the naughty smile of a child which accomplished his prank, they were elated and even more happy about it than the fact that their child could now run.
During the years little Lin was too quiet and they were worried that he would give himself the fault that he was different from normal children, so it was a great sight for them to see their child with that look on his face.
"Good job little Lin" said his father while patting his head, while his mother took him in a bear hug.
In two year, Lin managed to cultivate his darkness spirit root at the middle heaven tier, while the others were stuck at the high earth tier; but this was not the only thing Lin did.
During those two years Lin used his blood to draw a sealing formation all over his body.
This formation was the one that was used in the Divine realm to seal the cultivation of deites... Lin repurposed it to hide his cultivation in three layers; in the end if one has the key to unseal one''s own cultivation, the seal becomes quite useful.
The first seal would allow him to show a cultivation appropriate for the average-upper cultivation level as his peers... but powerful cultivators would feel something off in his aura, leading them to believe that he was using some kind of technique to hide his real cultivation.
The second seal would allow Lin to show a cultivation on par with the world shaking geniuses of his generation; he needed but a thought in order to open the seal... one could think of it as an ajar door and this was what powerful cultivators would sense in his aura.
The third layer would unseal his full cultivation, but in order to not show it, Lin completely sealed this layer and he would need at least 5 minutes to undo the seal... it must be understood that during a fight 5 minutes seem an endless amount of time, but what could he do? Lin was sure that his cultivation would be many times faster than anyone in the whole plane and if it was exposed it would lead to a wild hunt with him as the prey.

Not exactly what he wanted.
Because Lin still had to begin cultivating, the seal patterns were invisible and useless, but that would change soon enough.
Once the birthday party was over and Lin found himself alone in his bedroom, he decided to "learn" some Tier 0 techniques.
In the variour worlds and planes, techniques are divided in tiers numbered from 1 until 10 with 3 subdivisions each (low-middle-high) in base of how deadly they are and how much destruction and power one can unleash while using them.
This being said, the evaluation can change from planet to planet and from plane to plane.
In the end, on each world the most powerful technique is deemed and every other technique is labeled afterwards... this causes differences in the ranking of the same techniques in different planets.
Then what about Tier 0 techniques? They''re techniques that everyone (even non-cultivators) can learn given some time, but they have 0 attack power and are deemed useless all accross the planes... some of them can even be found in mortals libraries.
-Idiots, if your ancestors were to know, they would come back from the death to beat you up- thought Lin while thinking about how Tier 0 techniques were seen in the last 2-3 trillions years.
It must be said that some Tier 0 techniques were really useless, but why in the first place Tier 0 skills would appear? Was it possible that the expert that made them were simply bored or had too much time on hand?
Obiviously not, back in the old days (trilions of years ago) Tier 0 skills were called Utility techniques. They did not increase one''s own fighting power directly, they did it indirectly by helping the user in building more powerful foundation of giving a bonus in a certain field.
And Lin had quite a few of them that he deemed essentials to learn before starting his cultivation, and they were:
1) The art of breathing; this was a skill needed to cleanse the air he breathed from any impurities. For now his body was eliminating every impurity in it on his own, but that would not happen after he started to cultivate and with each breath a small amount of them would enter in his body ruining his foundations.
What''s more, the skill would also strengthen his lungs, help him with every kind of poisonus substances in the air and enhance his cultivation speed.
2) The art of eating; this skill served the same purposes of the Art of breathing, but the more he ate, the more energy would it grant him to boost his recovery speed.
3) The art of walking; this technique is a way to walk that would use the muscles of the whole body for every step. It would set the basis for his future footwork and his future body refining technique, it would also would help him to strengthen his whole body by a small margin (though what Lin considered small margin is rather big for others).
4) The art of watching; this technique not only give the user the ability to see farther, the night vision and the Qi vision, it''s a skill that gives the user a new way of seeing the world. Every part of the body and every sense would merge and give the user a clear understanding of the situation even with closed eyes.
Lin knew that it was a skill that prepared and set the foundation for what the cultivators called and enhanced his soul.
5) The art of transformation; this skill was developed by the Dark sovereign. It is a mix of cold reading, knowledge of the human body and a bit of improvisation. It gave the user a way to change one''s own body up to a certain extent, understanding on how to best appeal to others and various ways to get out of dangers.
The dark sovereign created this skill because he always found strange how a simple smile or some well spoken words or the way a person behave could change the flow of a battle or help him in a difficult situation.
After reviewing the 5 Tier 0 skills, Lin decided to master them within the next 4 years.
