《Shadows and Embers》 Ch.1 Birth The Lubia Dynasty sits between the Miton Empire, Sunid Empire, Kotia Kingdom and the Wilds of Tarpan. The large nation also borders the Scarlet Sea and Howling Mountains, which it uses to help feed and arm its people. As both are rich in minerals and life. In the province of Herman to the south of the Howling Mountains, a natural fortress carved out of jade and stone sits overlooking rich fields of wheat and cabbage. The fortress rises hundreds of feet up the mountain before stopping at a massive sculpture of a Fox head. The sculpture carved out of pure jade sits as of overlooking the farms like a deity. In the tallest room laying under the fox sculpture sits a panting woman. The woman looks like your average 30 year old, with a soft brown hair that almost looks red in the evening sun light. Except fox like ears the same color as her hair lay poised on her head. The ears are difficult to notice at first glance due to their color and how they simply blend into her hair when they lay face down. Sweat covers the woman¡¯s face, as she beckons with her right hand. A red headed muscular man walks up to the bed and takes her hand. The man, like the woman, has fox like ears, but his ears are a smokey red. He also has 2 fox like tails of similar color to his ears. Which have a dark almost black color dotted around its light red fur. The woman looks at the man with a strained look, before mumbling ¡°You did this to me.¡± and squeezing his hand. The man doesn¡¯t grimace or even twitch as the woman tries to dig her nails into the back of his hand. As she squeezes she realizes that it¡¯s an impossible to wound him with her strength alone. As he¡¯s a Ki user, which is vastly stronger than her and can defend against her attacks without even trying to defend. The woman lets her grip weaken but still continues to squeeze in an attempt to keep her mind off the pain that¡¯s currently attacking her. ¡°Does it hurt?¡± The man asks in a soft voice. He lightly squeezes her hand back to show his presence, in hope that he can become her power if even a little. ¡°Of course it hurts.¡± The woman moaned. Her face grimacing in pain while beads of sweat run down her face. ¡°Just relax and continue breathing. Remember what the nurse said, you just need to continue breathing.¡± The man stated in a calm manner but was secretly nervous about the birth. ¡°Madam Fixton, please breathe like your husband said. It will be all done soon. I can already see the first baby.¡± The chubby nurse encouraged. ¡°Ok...as long as it ends soon. I don¡¯t think I could take any more of this.¡± The women complains while panting. ¡°Good-good, now I¡¯m going to need you to push for me. Can you do that?¡± ¡°Pant-pant, it¡¯s not a question of if I can, but rather I need to do it or the pain will never end. Ack~ I should have listened to mother when she said I should wait before having kids.¡± The woman says while pushing her child out. The baby is given to another nurse. Who takes the baby away to clean it and care for it until the mother is better. ¡°Congratulations honey you did it!¡± The man says beaming with a smile. ¡°Your right¡­I did it¡­no we did it fuzzy fu.¡± The woman says to her husband with a smile plastered on her sweat covered face. ¡°No¡­theirs still more.¡± The nurse says with a hint of nervousness at the thought of ruining this good moment. ¡°What! Theirs still more!?¡± The man shouts. ¡°Yes I can see another one coming.¡± The woman mumbles in fear. ¡®Oh no! Another baby¡­I have to birth another baby.¡¯ The woman thinks before another wave of pain assaults the woman. She fights the pain and tries to slowly push the baby out like she did before. ¡°That¡¯s right, good job Madam. Just keep pushing like that, and you¡¯ll be done before you know it.¡± The nurse says trying to encourage the woman. ¡°Yeah honey, just keep pushing and you¡¯ll finish like the first one.¡± The man says while squeezing the woman¡¯s hand tighter. ¡°Shut up!¡± The woman shouts while trying to endure an intense pressure that¡¯s building in her pelvis. After pushing for over twelve minutes the baby finally starts to exit the woman¡¯s body. The baby, like the first one, has small fox like ears shooting out of its head and a tail protruding out. The baby also lacks human ears and is covered in a thick slimy fluid. ¡°There you go the second babies done. Well now your don-¡± The nurse stops mid-sentence because she sees something. ¡°What is it? Why did you stop talking just now?¡± The man says in a panicked manner. Fearful of complications forming with his wife. The woman resting after giving birth twice. Lays covered in sweat and dying of anticipation and anxiety. ¡°Another baby.¡± The nurse mumbles. ¡°What? What did you say just then?¡± The man howled in confusion. ¡°Another baby is coming the nurse says.¡± This time in a voice that everyone can hear. ¡°Another baby?¡± The man repeats almost lost. The woman hearing this begins to ready herself for incoming pain. ¡°Wait! Not just one but two more!¡± The nurse shouts. ¡°Two more?¡± The man repeats. While trying to wrap his head across the current state of events. The woman almost shouts in fright ¡°NOOOOOO!¡± But manages to keep it in. ¡°Two more babies! Two more! I have to go through everything I¡¯ve done already once more!¡± The woman groans while cursing her fate. ¡°Don¡¯t worry Madam you can do this. We¡¯ve done this before so just calm down¡± The nurse says in attempt to calm the woman and herself down. She has never experienced delivering four births in a row and was rather nervous. ¡°Let¡¯s just get this over with.¡± The woman says while squeezing the man¡¯s hand tighter than she¡¯s ever squeezed before. So much that her hand turned white from a lack of blood circulation and all the muscles in her arm tensed up with pain. But that¡¯s just what she needed to ignore the excruciating pain of child birth. The man feeling a slight pain in his hand looks down at where he and his wife¡¯s hand are joined. When he sees a drop of blood fall onto the bed. The blood soaks into the bedsheets leaving a faint red stain. Another drop falls and he follows the flight path which leads to a small stream of blood running down his hand. The stream leads him to a small cut made by his wife¡¯s nails. This pain and pressure is from the two babies both trying to come out at the same time. ¡°It¡¯s almost like their racing.¡± The nurse says in amazement. ¡°Shut up and help me!¡± The woman screams as an intense pain threatens to rip her apart. ¡°Awww~ Ok push! That¡¯s right, push just like that.¡± The nurse says after being broken out of her amazement. ¡°Oh god what do I do?¡± The nurse mumbles. Both babies started coming out at the same time. Both seeming to rush to pass each other but neither giving up to the other. So they push their way through the woman¡¯s uterus. ¡°Awww~¡± The woman screams with a voice filled with agonizing pain. She felt them coming. She felt them coming out. But worst of all she felt them get stuck. ¡°Oh no-oh no, what do I do?¡± The nurse looking at the scenes of both babies getting stuck with horror and shock. The man holds his wife¡¯s hand while sweating in fright. Horrible thought¡¯s race through his head as he tries to comfort his wife¡¯s pain. ¡°Fucking kill me!¡± The woman wails as she squeezes anything she can get her hands on. The sheet of the bed are ripped through, while her husband¡¯s hand is pierced by her fingernails leaving a small puddle of blood on the bed. The two babies stuck inside her push against each other, both still seeming to fight to get out first. ¡°Doctor! Doctor! I need help here! Sally go get Doctor Francis!¡± The nurse screams at one of the nearby assistant nurses. The woman grieving in pain feels her consciences grow dim and her body cold. As she looks at her husband she notices that her vision is blurry and unfocused. ¡®Oh god¡­am I dying?¡¯ the woman asks herself before feeling something warm touch the back of her hand. ¡°Sharon, hang in there. It will only be a minute before they¡¯re out, and then you can rest.¡± The man says wrapping both hands around her right hand. ¡®She¡¯s so cold.¡¯ The man thinks as he feels her white bloodless hand. ¡°Doctor you¡¯re here!¡± The nurse exploded with delight. The Doctor looks at her with a cold look before looking at the woman and asking, ¡°What¡¯s the status nurse?¡± His voice lacking in emotion. ¡°She¡¯s safely delivered two babies and-¡± The nurse tries to explain before being cut off by the Doctor. ¡°Current status nurse. We don¡¯t have time for you to ramble on about unimportant things.¡± The Doctor cruelly states. The woman stares in shock at the doctor before stammering ¡°I¡¯m sorry Doctor! She currently has two babies stuck in her vagina¡¯s opening, and both are trying to come out at the same time.¡± The woman¡¯s voice showing signs of nervousness and embarrassment. The Doctor gives her a cold look before simply ordering ¡°Get me a knife.¡± The nurse repeats his order in her head, ¡®Get him a knife. Why would he need a knife? Is he going to kill me!? Or the woman?¡± The doctor losing patience with the slow nurse angrily repeats ¡°Get me a knife.¡± As he taps his foot. The nurse¡¯s thoughts are broken and she scrambles to the west wall near the window. She begins sorting through the tool cabinet in search of a knife. After searching two of the three draws she finds a sharp knife with a 6 inches long blade and a wooden grip. She runs to the Doctor while screaming ¡°Here¡¯s the knife!¡± The Doctor looks at the knife in her hand and says ¡°Quickly bring it here.¡± While holding his hand out in order to receive it. The nurse hands the knife to the Doctor and asks ¡°Doctor¡­what do you need the knife for?¡± in a nervous manner. He looks at her once before walking to the woman¡¯s side saying ¡°Just watch.¡± As he reaches the woman¡¯s side he begins to look at her pale unconscious body and the two heads sticking from her vagina. ¡®This requires fast work.¡¯ He thinks while bringing the knife to the woman¡¯s belly and sliding it from under her belly button about 3 inches down. Cutting her stomach open and letting him see the babies¡¯ feet. ¡°Nurse hold this.¡± He says while handing the bloody knife to the nurse. He sticks his hand into the incision and grabs one of the baby¡¯s feet and pulls. As he drags the baby out, he notices the other baby begin to move out of the woman¡¯s vagina by itself. ¡°Nurse.¡± He says while signaling with his head for her to go get the other baby, while he carefully takes the baby out through the incision. The husband who¡¯s watched all of this just stares in shock as he tries to fight the light-headiness assaulting him. The horror of watching his wife go through intense pain while he can''t stop it, is enough to make most men vomit, but to watch your wife get cut open and have one of your children pulled through it. The man''s entire body grows cold as he remembers it. The nurse moves quickly from the woman¡¯s side to the legs and begins supporting the baby on its out. The process is quick and she moves through it with practiced hands. When she finally gets the baby out, she notices its ears and tail are jet black, and it is moving around a lot for its age. At the same time the Doctor also notices that the baby he got out is moving a lot, and has a deep red tail and ears. ¡®Odd.¡¯ The Doctor thinks before handing the baby to one of the nurses waiting in the corner and then sticks his hand over the woman¡¯s incision. A faint light radiates from his hand and the wound begins to close. The nurse also hands the baby to an assist nurse, before running up to the Doctor. ¡°Doctor what do we do now?¡± She asks. ¡°Just give her healing treatment and let her rest. She looks fine to me, just a little tired.¡± The Doctor says before walking out of the room. Chapter 2- Setting the Stage Excerpt from Medical report: 10042 B 145, 321 M. The birth process grew complicated when the last two infants got stuck and the mother fainted. The infant¡¯s ears and tails from right to left are light brown, bright red, black, and brown. Of which the bright red and black ones are squirming around as if jumping beans. ¡°Those two sure like to move around.¡± Comments and olive skinned women, who unlike the infants lacks a tail or ears. Another women leaning against the wall looks at the two infants and replies, ¡°You''re right¡­those two are moving around a lot. What do you think we should do about them? Should we stop them, or just let them keep going until they''re tired?¡± This women has pasty white skin and smokey white ears like a raccoon. She has on a simple brown skirt that goes down to her ankles, and a long shirt which hugs her arms tightly, but hangs loose around her torso. Which looks to be designed to hide ones figure. ¡°We should just leave them be. It¡¯s not like they¡¯ll get hurt moving around a little.¡± The olive skinned women says before opening a book. ¡°Well I guess that¡¯s fine, but I¡¯ve never seen an Vepi act like this before.¡± The raccoon eared women says looking at the two infants shuffling around the crib, as she thinks back to all the babies she¡¯s seen here. ¡°Don¡¯t Vepi usually take a week before they really start moving?¡± Her gaze shifting to the olive skinned woman with her face in a book. ¡°Mmmm? Oh yes, Vepi don¡¯t usually start moving until the first or second week. The kids might not be full Vepi though, I mean the two moving ones are black and bright red. Have you ever seen a black Vepi? The red one isn¡¯t unheard of, but I¡¯ve never seen one that red before.¡± The olive skinned women says without looking up from her book. Her tone seeming to get more intense as she went on. ¡°Shhhh! Maggie you can¡¯t say that! She¡¯s General Fixton¡¯s wife and that means she¡¯s a noble. You could get both of us killed by saying that.¡± The raccoon eared women chastens while getting off the wall. Her hands and arms waving furiously as if to show how serious she was. ¡°Fine-fine, if you want to live in fear forever you can do that, but just know that I don¡¯t plan to live like that.¡± Maggie says while waving her hand in a swatting motion in the direction of the pasty skinned women. The pasty skinned women hearing this stomps toward Maggie yelling, ¡°You see Maggie that¡¯s the problem there! It isn¡¯t just your life in danger, but mine! If you want to insult nobles then fine, but don¡¯t involve me in it! You always do this! It¡¯s always YOU-YOU-YOU!¡± Maggie finally taking too much jumps up from her seat, throwing her book into the seat with a loud -CRASH- before storming at the pasty skinned women. ¡°Asuna I¡¯ve had enough of your whiny shit! You¡¯re always complaining about stupid shit!¡± Asuna temporarily stares blankly at Maggie as she bolt toward her. When Maggie is no more than 5 feet away she¡¯s finally shaken from her confusion, but it¡¯s too late. Maggie only 5 feet away takes a big step toward Asuna and swings her right fist into Asuna¡¯s left cheek, leaving a fist shaped impression into her face. Asuna taking such a powerful blow from surprise, stumbled back hitting one of the cribs, knocking one of the infants on the floor. A wail momentarily fills the room as the brown haired infant rolls out of the fallen crib onto the cold stone floor. The infant leaving a trail of red in the direction it rolls before finally stopping against the wall with an almost squishy sound. Silence fills the room as Asuna and the infant finally stop. Maggie still in the posture she had when punching Asuna in the face simply stops. Her gaze in the direction of the fallen crib, looking lost. As if all her dreams were just destroyed in front of her. Asuna managing to crawl up from in front of the crib looks at the cause of the noise in shock. A bloody corpse of what was a baby girl, now lays mangled on the now red floor. ¡°¡­Look what you did¡­you killed her.¡± Asuna seems to squeeze out of her throat before tears start to run down her face. ¡°I didn¡¯t kill her¡­she¡¯s probably alive. Let me give her a little healing and we can just say it never happened.¡± Maggie quickly says in panicked manner, her eyes jumping back and forth from the corpse and Asuna. ¡°You hit me and expect me to help you cover up a murder!¡± Asuna screams at the top of her lungs. Maggie in a panicked manner says ¡°Keep your voice down. Do you want people to come in here?¡± while stepping closer to Asuna. Asuna seeing Maggie advancing toward her, tries to back up but after making it back a dozen feet or so, she finds herself against a wall. Her hand moving repeatable in a semicircular manner, as if trying to find a door knob, but she soon remembered that the door was further down the wall. Maggie seeing that Asuna is not only scared but also trying to escape, decides on a wild course of action. She speeds up her advance toward Asuna and says ¡°Asuna¡­if you pretend nothing happened then I and you can simply return to work like nothing ever happened. Otherwise¡­I¡¯m sure you don¡¯t want that to happen.¡± Her gaze filled with warning. Asuna is dumbstruck, never had she ever thought this was how day would go. Having a co-worker assault her, kill a baby, and then threaten her. ¡®Was she simply to lay against a wall waiting for her fate? No, she needs to fight back! She needs to kill this women and save the babies¡­yes the other babies needed her help!¡¯ ¡°Asuna we can work this out. Just promise me you won¡¯t tell anyone.¡± Maggie says with a crazy look in her eyes before finally stopping in front of Asuna. Her breath now hitting Asuna¡¯s face, and her eyes staring into Asuna¡¯s face. Asuna finally getting the courage to fight back, stares at Maggie. She tries to think of a way to attack her, ¡®maybe I can get her attention somewhere else and then jump on her? Yeah that sounds like it will work, but how do I get her attention away from me? I need to at least save the other 3 infants. That¡¯s it! I¡¯ll use the infants as bait and then jump on her when her back is turned.¡¯ Asuna¡¯s face twitches under stress as she stumbles to say, ¡°But what about the babies?¡± as she points in the direction of the farthest crib from them. Maggie feeling confident in her victory Maggie decides to hear out nervous Asuna. Completely missing out on Asuna¡¯s secret plan. ¡°Don¡¯t worry I won¡¯t hurt them. In fact I¡¯ll even save that injured one over there too.¡± She says signaling in the direction of the mangled corpse of the infant. Asuna realizing she failed decides to go with a more direct plan. She points toward the dead infant laying on the floor and says, ¡°Fine let¡¯s go save her then.¡± As she walks slowly toward the mangled corpse. ¡°So you agree not to say anything?¡± Maggie asks while watching Asuna pass her, as she her heart beats in anticipation. ¡°Of course, but first we need to save this girl first. Then we can worry about whether or not I tell.¡± Asuna says laughing in her mind as she anticipates the attack that¡¯s about to happen. ¡°Your right, first comes the baby, then then you¡¯ll promise not to tell anyone.¡± Maggie says in a relived manner before following Asuna in the direction of the baby. As they walk step by step closer to the mangled corpse, Asuna begins to count backwards from five. ¡®5¡­4¡­3¡­2¡­1¡­Now!¡¯ When she finishes counting she sends her elbow into Maggie¡¯s face, breaking her nose and knocking her over. Maggie feels her nose slowly smooch back until finally breaking with a -pop-. Her thoughts grow wild with anger and hate, ¡®That bitch! How dare she attack me, when I was trying to be peaceful!¡¯ as she falls to the stone ground. Asuna continuing her offensive by straddling the fallen women, and unleashes a storm of punches into her face and upper torso. The blows thought wild and uncontrolled, still manage to make Maggie curl up in defense. Maggie trying to think of a way to defend herself from this flurry of blows lifts her arms up in front of her face and curls her chin to her chest. As I watched my older sister die, and as I watch the two nurses fight to the death. I can¡¯t help but feel somewhat at home and relaxed. Like I was back in my tent on the battlefield again, after a long day¡¯s battle. I grew up in a violent household, with a violent father who would beat my mother, me and my siblings. While my mom would simply beat us in frustration, and I would beat my siblings, but I never hated it for a minute. Even when I was being beat by my father I would just think to myself, ¡®Look how he can beat me without even fearing danger or retaliation. That¡¯s what true strength is. The ability to conquer your enemy completely, to the point that they can¡¯t even put up resistance.¡¯ Now here I am 220 years later as a baby again, without even an ounce of Ki in my entire body. When I try get up I feel dizzy and some of my muscles don¡¯t move the way I want them too. But the main problem is this tail near ass that feels odd. I never had a tail in my past life, and this is not what I imagined it would feel like to have a tail. The woman in front of her continue their brawl, as the black eared infant crawled up to the edge of the crib with his body pressed against it. When he gets to top with his shaking legs he looks toward the red eared infant to his side and flashes a grin, ¡®Stupid bastard, you dare to anger me the war lord Phaedra! First you dare to knock me out of the way in the womb, and now you dare to taunt me with a grin!¡¯ She thinks while snarling at him, before attempting to stand up. ¡®Damn!¡¯ She curses to herself, ¡®How did he stand up with these weak wobbly legs?¡¯ She looks around the disgustingly green crib while trying to look for something to grab onto. When she sees it, something so simple that she simply passed it over and over again; the cribs edge. ¡®Damn, how did I miss something like this?¡¯ She curses to herself while grabbing the edge by stretching my body to reach the edge. When she finally manage to pull herself upright, she begins to feel sick from having laid down so long. ¡®Ha, I made it up here!¡¯ She thinks as she smirking at her new brother. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blood is sprinkled around as the two woman wrestle on the floor delivering awkward punches to each other¡¯s torsos and faces. "Die you baby killer!" Asuna screams at the top of her lungs before driving her fist into Maggie''s throat. Pain fills Maggie''s body as she attempts gasps for air, her offensive temperately broken. ''I never wanted this to happen.'' She thinks to herself before the door leading into the room slams open. "What the fuck are you people doing!?" A four tailed woman screams. Asuna being the only one who can really react to the scream stops first, and turns in the direction of the yell. Maggie feeling the storm of hits stop decides to quickly throw a punch before Asuna decides to keep going. "I...I was just trying to save the babi-" Asuna manages to blurt out before getting punched in the face. Her mouth filling with blood as she flies back into a crib. The crib taking the full weight of a grown woman tumbles over before dropping a baby onto the floor, leaving another trail of red in its wake. The four tailed woman is shocked again at this entire conflict, but soon that shock turns into anger as she watches a dark eared infant roll on the floor. "Look what you did." She mumbles once before saying it again, "Look what you did!" this time yelling in rage. Powerful magical energy radiates around the four tailed woman''s body as she screams, "Look what you did!" Over and over again. Maggie feeling the danger sprints to one of the green cradles. Fear fills the woman''s heart as she quickly moves to the cradle, ''I need to get a hostage fast or I''ll get killed here." She repeats this in her head over and over again as if chanting. Asuna just managing to get up from an in front of a crib again stares at the running Maggie with hate burning in her heart. "You made me kill two babies you damn bitch!" She screams without even looking at the corpse of the fallen infant. The four tailed woman stares at the sprinting olive skinned woman with hate, before unleashing a wave of intense flames. The flames fly in a straight stream like motion before splashing into the woman, lighting her on fire. Maggie''s flesh burns with pain unlike anything she''s ever experienced before, as her flesh and bones melt away into a thick liquid. Her last thoughts are of her home in Deria. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ''Fuck my face hurts like a bitch!'' The black eared thinks while fighting his bodies involuntary tear response. ''God how did I get in this mess in the first place? I don''t even know why those two started fighting, or why they want to fight in a baby room to begin with.'' He thinks while holding his bloody face with his broken fingers. ''To think that my new life is already this hectic. It makes you wonder what the future has in store for me.'' A grin soon hangs on his tear and blood covered face. ''Shit I bet that red eared bitch is laughing at me right now.'' He thinks while peeking in the direction of her crib. He sees the red eared infant standing up staring at him with a look of content before noticing his glance and smirking at him. ''Fuck, I will kill her soon. Just you wait, once I can move on my own I''ll fuck you to death, and make you my personnel pet.'' He thinks with a hate filled glare. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the death of the olive skinned woman, the four tailed women''s fury was mostly suppressed, but she still needed to kill someone else. She walked toward the raccoon eared women with loud steps, as if to make a show of her power. When the raccoon women turned to her, she only gave a calm smile, while radiating her powerful magical power. "Are you ready to die child?" She calmly says. Asuna hearing this is flabbergasted, ''Death? I''m going to die? For what? I protected the babies and fought to keep them safe. Why would she kill me?'' Thoughts storm through her head threatening to drive her insane. "But I tried to protect the babies." She nervously blurts out trying to protect herself. The four tailed women only looks at her with a grin, completely ignoring the woman. Her magical energy swirling around her like a mini storm. Until she slowly raises her finger at the raccoon eared woman. Asuna seeing this screams out, "Why kill me!?" before being devoured by a storm of magical flames. A grin momentarily flashes across the four tailed woman''s face before returning back to normal when she hears the door open up behind her. Doctor Francis in a black overcoat walks in with sweat running down his face. "What happened in here?" He asks in between his pants. The four tailed women turns around on her heel saying, "I was just taking care of some problems here. Two of our medical staff¡¯s immigrant workers decided to kill two of the general''s babies. So I naturally had to stop them with force." She says showing a sad expression as she walks out of the room. Doctor Francis shows a shocked expression, "They killed two infants?" He mumbles letting the women past him. As the woman passes him she whispers, "You should look to see if any of the kids are still alive." before walking down the hall. The Doctor hearing this immediately looks around the room and see''s two infants on the floor in a puddle of blood. When he gets close to the black eared one he sees it twitching in pain and covers it with his magical energy. The healing energy he pumps into its body closes all the visible wounds on its body but he keeps pumping it into its body to help fix any internal injures it might have sustained. After 5 minutes of full throttle healing he picks up the infant up. The face is caked in dried blood and tears, but worst of all some of his fingers healed wrong. "Shit I need to break his fingers first, then heal again." He curses while grabbing the infant¡¯s tiny fingers. The fingers feel weak and tiny in his grip, as he grips them with his large fingers -Pop- a sound rings through the room accompanied by only a high pitch groan. "That''s one, don''t worry only 4 more to go." He says to the black eared infant who has a pained expression on his face. After breaking all 5 of his messed up fingers he re-heals them, and moves on the next infant leaving the black eared infant on the floor. The next infant has brown ears and is laying in an awkward position. With its arms curled behind its back, and the other arm twirled out over its head. The arms are both broken, with the one behind the back snapped right in the middle like a branch. This infant he lifts up to see whether it''s alive or not, but realizes it¡¯s dead when he touches its cold stiff body. ''Damn I was too late.'' He thinks to himself before putting this infant back on the floor and walking back toward the black eared one. Chapter 3- Home life -1 year later- Within the province of Herman, a vast hill sits about an hour¡¯s walk from the nearest town. The hill is famous for its view of the vast cabbage fields, which help feed the people of the neighboring cities, and its part in the legendary play ¡®The leaves of love.¡¯ On the hill, six figures stand before a marker like rock. Jin, Rina, Rebecca, Seymour, Sophie, and a grizzly man with a sword at his waist. The group stands in silence only looking at the stone, with some of them in a daze and others with a bored expression. Time passes, minute by minute and hour by hour, but the group doesn''t move. The sunlight bathes the hill in a deep red glow, signaling its exit, as it slowly vanishes into the distant horizon. When the sun finally sets and cast it¡¯s veil of shadows onto the sky, the group finally turns from the stone and walks away. The group walks down the hill and gets onto the stone road leading to the fortress city of Riavle, which stands at the forefront of the Eastern Lubia defense line, and the current front lines against Sunid. The city is built into a mountain, and overlooks rich fields of wheat and cabbage. When the group gets near the city, it is already pitch black. The main city gate is also closed, but the group already knows this, so they instead walk to the secondary entrance, used by military forces and nobles. The secondary gate is smaller than the city¡¯s main gate, only about a tenth of the size. It is guarded by three squads of 4th grade Ki warriors, and overseen by an officer of 6th grade Ki. This shows just how important this gate and city are to the Lubia Empire, as these troops are elites. As the group approaches the gate they see muscular Vepi, wearing red metal armor and equipped with long swords, standing guard. The guards are primarily men, but at least a quarter of them are women. One of the sentries seeing the approaching group calls out, "Hold! You are approaching the west supply gate. State your identities and business." The sentry¡¯s voice is harsh and feminine. Jin leading the group, calls out to the sentries, "General Fixton here, let us through!" "..General Fixton! Please come in right away. I''m sorry for delaying your entrance." The sentry says in a panic as they begin to open the gate. "Let¡¯s go." Jin says walking to the gate and into the city. As they walk into the city the sentries face who they talked to comes into view. The sentry is a well-built woman with strong facial features and dark brown hair that goes to her shoulders. She has 4 tails hanging from her behind, all of which are chocolate brown. The woman gives off a passive vibe, which is rare to see in soldiers, especially elites like her. "Good day to you sir!" The sentry yelps while bowing at a 45 degree angle. Her eyes making constant eye contact all the way down. Jin nods his head at the sentry while walking past, and marches to his manor deep in the city. The city though currently closed due to the time, but is still very much alive and kicking. Men and women fill the streets, covered in a vast array of blouses, skirts and trousers. The majority of the people walking around are Vepi, but every now or then a Tanuki, Agwang, and Lapine can be seen walking around, usually wearing durable traveling garbs or leather armor. As the city standing at the forefront of the Sunid border. Riavle regularly sees Tanuki merchants and Lapine adventurers. The Agwang who can be seen from time to time, are usually traveling swordsmen looking to improve their techniques, but every now and then a priest from the Orcaliz religion can be seen preaching. These travelers though common around this area are rarely let in the city, due to strict regulations made and enforced by the overseer of the City; General Fixton. Who has a deep distrust for immigrants, especially non-Vepis. The group walks through the crowded streets while in a tight formation, as the pedestrians noticing them move at of the way. ¡°Papa, can we get something sweet while were her?¡± Sophie asks in a sweet voice while gripping Jin¡¯s pants. ¡°Sweet?¡± He says in a low voice while turning to his daughter. ¡°Hmmmm, how about some serbert? I know a good bakery a little ways away from here.¡± He asks with a concerned look. Sophie squeals fervidly, ¡°Yes papa, I want serbert! Let¡¯s go get serbert!¡± Her brown tail waving back and forth. Jin smiles at his daughter and thanks Qeiles, the god of the Retyk star and the champion of fire, for the fact that his daughter is alive and perfect. He reaches his arms out and wraps them around Sophie¡¯s delicate body, taking it into his strong embrace ¡°Awwww~¡± He grunts while lifting her up, ¡°You''ve gotten bigger since I last carried you.¡± He says with a mystified tone. The group walks to the shopping district, about 15 minutes away from their current location. When they get there they have to travel 5 minutes down crowded streets to arrive in front of a brown building. The building unlike its neighbors, isn¡¯t carved into the mountain but is made with foreign materials, like wood and bricks made of sand. When the group is about to walk inside Rebecca says, ¡°Father, Is it fine if I just wait outside with Fredrick?¡± Seymour hearing Rebecca get something decides to mess it up for her. ¡°Babbo, If Rebecca stays out here she could get captured by a Tanuki! You told us that they capture Vepi kids and eat us¡­remember?¡± His voice filled with fake concern. Rebecca¡¯s face turns red from anger, ¡°That¡¯s why Fredrick will be here! He can protect me from the Tanuki that you''re so afraid of.¡± She says mocking him. Seymour¡¯s face flushes red with anger as he shouts, ¡°I''m not scared! It¡¯s just I was trying to look out for you dear sister.¡± Rebecca¡¯s makes a disgusted face but before she could say anything Jin said, ¡°Now-now you two, I think Fredrick is more than enough to protect Rebie. I highly doubt there¡¯s anyone who can defeat an experienced 7th grade Ki Warrior.¡± He says signaling with his eyes toward Frederick. ¡°Of course sir, the little miss will be safe with me.¡± Fredrick says resting his hand on his sword hilt. Rebecca hearing this shines a grin at Seymour, which only makes his face redder. ¡°L-e-t-s-go-f-r-e-d-r-i-c-k¡± She says in an exaggerated way, her goal; to piss Seymour off as much as possible. Their manor, sitting in the middle of the city, is a large fortress that has wall around it. The wall is carved out of the mountain, like the manor, and even has an underground tunnel system connecting to the soldier¡¯s barracks. The manor was carved out when the city was, over 13,000 years ago, and has a rich history filled with betrayal and war. Waking up two chim-chims before sun rises, like every day, Rebecca decided to go jog a little before breakfast. This was to keep her stamina high, and it works as a warm up for her morning. Which she conducts with Fredrick in the courtyard. Seymour waking up at around a chim-chim after sun rise, also goes for a jog, but his was after breakfast and stretches, and is followed by handstands and squats. Unlike Rebecca who focused on arms, shoulders, and pectoral strength, Seymour is focused on building flexibility, joint strength and overall fitness. One chim-chim after Seymour woke up, Sophie also woke from her sleep and went to the dining table for breakfast. The qer wood table, a nice shade of scarlet, sits lined with an assortment of breakfast foods, like soup, wheat rolls, steamed cabbage and chikken. Sophie smelling the thick scent of steamed cabbage, feels her stomach rumble in anticipation. She takes her fork and digs into the steamed cabbage, losing out to her cravings. After 3 minutes of continues eating she finally finishes her second helping of cabbage and moves on to the steamed chikken. At around the same time Rebecca feeling hungry again, from her training with Fredrick, decides to eat after a little dip in the manors pound, located in the courtyard. Chapter 4: The Sisters Character Introduction 1: Jin Fixton The Fixton family is a new family created by Jin, as an award for becoming a general for the Lubia Dynasty back ten years ago. Back then Rebecca¡¯s father was just a young soldier (46) who grew up on the battle field. Jin was an orphan of the Red Cliff wars and started out as a prostitute for a mercenary corps, where he was taught how to live, fight, and cultivate Ki. He later became an official member, and quickly showed himself as a talented youth. At the age of 14, Jin left the group and joined a small gladiator school to fight gladiators, slaves, and magic beast for money. Jin established his current combat style, and even had his first taste of women at that school. At the age of 22, Jin was scouted by an old soldier named William, after one of his matches, who introduced him to the military and taught him how to be a soldier and leader. Jin rose through the ranks quickly and was given his first set of troops nicknamed the Leaping Rawc at age 25. Nicknamed after the fearsome Rawc, who hunts magical beast, Agwang and Vepi alike in the forest and mountains around the Continent of Trepitic. The outfit was feared all through the Yemis Mountains, and still works under Jin today as a full corps now. At the age of 31, Jin was awarded the Crimson Peak, one of the highest honors a soldier can receive, for killing a Ki master with only 6th rank Ki Warriors. At the age of 46, he was promoted to general due to his monstrous cultivation speed, and military achievements. His army controls and defend the Herman province, and is separated into 3 corps; Winter Fang, Leaping Rawc, and Red Tails. Which each control different forts and jurisdictions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The pond water chilled Rebecca¡¯s skin as she slowly submerged herself in the water. She walked until the water was shoulder height and then started washing the sweat off her prepubescent body. The pond was a deep green, which reflected the jade deposit sitting at the bottom of the floor and algae. ¡°Little miss-little miss, you''re going to get dirty if you swim around in that nasty water. Why don¡¯t you just go to the bath?¡± Fredrick begs Rebecca at the edge of the pond, with a frown on his face. Rebecca frowns at his complaints, ¡°I¡¯m just washing the sweat off, and don''t mind being a little dirty. I¡¯ll take a bath later anyway, and taking two in a single day is a waste of time.¡± She says before plunging her entire body into the chilled green water. ¡®How did I get stuck with this little imp?¡¯ Fredrick thinks while frowning harder, and waiting for Rebecca to come back up so he can keep lecturing her. Under the surface of the water Rebecca spun and swam deeper into the water. She was able to hold her breath for over 2 minutes due to constant practice in her past life, that she¡¯s been training her body since birth, and body fortifications techniques with meagre Ki currently in her body. The closer she came to the bottom of the pond, the clearer the smooth jade floor appeared to her augmented eyes. The surface appeared to have been smoothed out by some unnatural source, and remains clean even in this algae infested water. This truly boggled Rebecca, but she¡¯s yet to ask anyone due to fear of losing her current freedom. ¡°Little miss!¡± Fredrick screams in a panic, he contemplates jumping in or not, ¡®Maybe she¡¯s still drowning...but if she¡¯s not then I¡¯ll just get wet like her, and it would have been for nothing. Alright just 22 more Umps and then I''ll jump in.¡¯ Fredrick moves to the pond''s edge and scans the deep green water for Rebecca¡¯s solitude while counting out loud. ¡°Ok, one¡­.two¡­.three..Agh~¡± Rebecca finally done examining the jade floor, surfaces near the edge where Fredrick stands, startling him and making him fall on his backside. Climbing out of the water completely unfazed by Fredrick''s unsightly appearance was Rebecca. Her body covered in a thin layer of algae and bacteria, which made her childlike body shine in the sunlight. As a cool breeze licked the water droplets off her warm body, radiating a faint warm energy. "Fredrick lets go. I''ve had enough washing off." Rebecca says walking to the patio closest to the kitchen. Her posture straight and her voice firm, giving her an image of being a mature adult. The grizzled soldier sits shocked for a minute, as he watches the naked miss¡¯s tail slowly get farther away. "Little miss wait for me!" Rebecca walks up to the stained wooden door separating her from the inside of the house. The door is made of a sturdy wood native to Herman, which had been stained a rich shade of Cappuccino. The door is a pull style door with a chrome colored metal handle in the middle of the door. As Rebecca reaches out to open the door, a voice called out to her. "Sister, where are your clothes?" The voice was high pitched and had a penetrating quality to it, which made her frown and realize it was her sister Sophie. Before she turned around with a smile and answering, ¡°I left them by the pond because they were covered in sweat.¡± This answer didn¡¯t seem to please Sophie as she frowned and shot a displeasing glare at Rebecca. Sophie was dressed in a puce (Shade of Pink) one piece dress which went down to her knees. The dress was wrapped by a red ribbon which tied together in a bow near a scarlet flower design, which started at the left leg portion of the dress and went up to pelvis height for the bloom. The dress was made of an expensive material that could only be found in the forests of Dregia, to the east of Trepitic. ¡°Did you get in the pond too? Mother said you can¡¯t swim in the pond anymore¡­she said it was dirty.¡± Sophie said with a serious expression. ¡°Yes, the pond has gems at the bottom of it, and I wanted to look at them. I can show them to you someday, if you want?¡± Rebecca said trying to bait Sophie. Rebecca know she would get her freedom restricted if Sophie told their mother. So she tried to make Sophie an accomplices, because Fredrick wouldn¡¯t tell her parents out of his best interest. So as long as she got Sophie to not tell, she would be safe. ¡°Gems, Like the ones mother has?¡± Sophie says in shock, as she leans closer to Rebecca. The frown on her face seeming to have not existed at all, as a smile lays carved onto Sophie¡¯s face. Rebecca resists the urge to grin. ¡°Yes, it looks like the same material as mother¡¯s bracelet.¡± She says remembering her mother¡¯s wedding bracelet. Sophie¡¯s anticipation grows as she leans even closer, to the point that her breath is hitting Rebecca¡¯s arm, and starts shaking with excitement. When Sophie¡¯s mood seems to be at its highest, Fredrick interrupts the two. ¡°Little miss, I got your clothes for you.¡± Fredrick says walking to the left of Rebecca near the door, which makes Sophie stand up straight and take a step back. This makes Rebecca visibly frown, as she was interrupted right before she was able to get Sophie involved. ¡°¡­Well let¡¯s go inside then Fredrick, Sophie are you going to eat breakfast now?¡± Rebecca says while attempting to leave. Sophie makes a shocked expression before mumbling, ¡°Y-yes! I was about to go eat now, did you want to¡­eat with me?¡± Fredrick also makes a shocked expression, ¡®For the miss to invite her to breakfast while nude! Has she no sense of shame?¡¯ Unknown to Fredrick¡¯s rude thoughts Rebecca answered Sophie¡¯s question with a smile, ¡°Of course I would like to eat with you, and we¡¯re sisters after all. So it¡¯s not weird or uncommon.¡± A giant smile flashes across Sophie''s face, as her brown tail wags back and forth in excitement. "Let''s go eat then!" She yells while reaching for Rebecca''s left hand. "Wait-wait I need to get some clothes first or I''ll get in trouble." Rebecca says in a hurriedly. Sophie frowns a little at her response, while Fredrick thinks, ''Thank god the misses is going to get clothes!'' "How about you come with me too?" Rebecca says seeing Sophie frown. Sophie smiles gets a big smile on her face one more time before saying, "I want to come-I want to come!" "OK lets go then." A new story Hello everyone I wish to inform you that I will be deleting all my pre-made writings on this site and making a new story. I''ve made a rough one like I said before, but I would like to upload it on here when it is finished. Map Rough Draft One This is my rough draft for the map, I will continue to expand on it as I go, but I would like to ask what you guys think about it and if you have any critics or suggestions. Also the story idea that I am attempting to make right now is one about world domination. The MC of the story will be a young necromancer human from an old family, who dislikes the peace and order brought on by the world saviors 50 years ago (Haven''t thought of a name for them yet.) one of which is his grandfather who he clashes with often due to there different values. The world saviors were a rouge group that managed to defeat or unite all major factions on the planet and resolve the ley line problem that threatened to kill all life on the world. As a result the world was united in a world government and all nations have lost there sovereignty. So the story will be about a group of terrorist who attempt to overthrow the worlds system by recruiting all the killers, bored, and unhappy people. So get ready for an anti-peace story about extremism and the joys of war. Lastly if you haven''t noticed already these terrorist are supposed to mirror the world saviors, simply a reversal of ideals and goals.
