ã€ŠAvengerã€‹ Prologue-Birth of the Avenger An hour passed, but Eon still did not find anything he was capable of hunting. Even a rabbit escaped from his hands. He sighed, thinking about how stupid he was to trying hunting by himself. ¡°Oh well,¡± Eon thought to himself, ¡°I¡¯m only ten, but in the future, I¡¯ll definitely become strong and make tons of money by hunting monsters. Then, Mommy and Daddy will be proud and happy.¡± Realizing he could not hunt, he began walking towards the village. Once he neared the village, he saw smoke rising. He smiled and thought that the village was cooking him some meat as a birthday surprise. However, getting closer, he frowned. He saw many columns of smoke rising up. ¡°Why is there so much smoke?¡± he wondered. Feeling something was not right, he rushed towards the village to check it out. When arriving at the scene, his stomach clenched and his heart throbbed. The village he returned to was not the one he knew. All houses in view were being corroded by the deadly flames. Trotting between the charred huts, he noticed a body bloodied laying on the ground. "No...No..This can''t be real." he muttered to himself. Falling down upon his knees, he asked himself "Why?" It was then he finally began to understand what happened. It must have been bandits! ¡°No! No! No!¡± he screamed out. "Dave.." he muttered, tears streamed down his cringed face. Getting up, he rushed across the village to his house in search of his parents. As he went by, seeing every corpse, every person he had ever called his friends, his uncles, his aunts, were all dead. Once reaching his house, heslswly trotted to the door. Lifting his right hand to the doorknob he ever so lightly turned it. "Creak" Looking in, he instantly collapsed on the ground while tears came down like streams. He looked at both his father and mother laying across on the ground, their legs and arms sprawled and their body covered in a crimson red. ¡°Ahhhhhhhh!¡± he screamed. ¡°This can¡¯t be true.¡± "Mom...Dad..." he sobbed. Clenching his fist till his hand started bleeding, a blue screen appeared in front of him.

Without any hesitation, he clicked, ¡°Yes¡± He was a different man now. No longer that loving, caring, and kind boy. He had changed He would let those that intruded on his life pay. He would rip them apart! He would tear their skin off alive and flesh off their bones! He alone, would be the one that would avenge his family, avenge his village, and avenge himself! He was the Avenger. Chapter 1-Learning the Skills Chapter 1 A golden light pierced through his body, causing him to feel a natural warmth. He felt the tear and regrowth of his once flimsy muscles; he felt a new kind of power running through his veins, causing his body to feel much warmer; and he felt his eyes burning, turning the walnut-colored eyes into a crimson red. Eon thought the process was 30 minutes. In reality, the transformation lasted only 5 seconds. His new status window appeared in front of him.

Eon looked through his skills carefully. Despite the fact that he never saw any combat skills, he felt that his abilities were above average. He smiled. However, he knew that he was was not strong enough to defeat whatever destroyed the village. He knew that he needed to grow stronger first, and then investigate this calamity. He knew that he needed to train harder. And he knew that he was going to avenge his family no matter the cost. Luckily, he also knew where to start. The small village he lived in held a small secret: underneath the mayor''s house lay a hidden portal. Although the village did not know where the portal led to, Eon heard that the village''s ancestors who had trained there rose to great heights. Additionally, he was confident that whatever destroyed the village did not find the portal: it was very well hidden. Stepping his first foot into the mayor''s house, he screamed because he saw several corpses splayed on the ground. Their eyes looked milky white, the limbs lay in crooked positions, and some heads were apart from their bodies. Upon clenching his fists and punching the wooden floor, he saw a window pop out.

His mouth dropped open once again. "How does [Hate] work? Perhaps when I get angry, I receive more hate?" he thought. Afterwords, he continued walking down to the basement. He looked in the mayor''s drawers for a key, he turned over the mayor''s mahogany desk, and he even took 268 books out of the bookshelves (which were all the books). Finally, he found one cement slab which had one of its corners laying on top of another cement slab. He punched the cement slab, breaking it, and revealing an bright blue glow underneath the rubble. Upon touching the blue glow, a blue box appeared.

Naturally, Eon replied, "Yes". Chapter 2-The Isle of Blood Chapter 2- The Isle of Blood A blue light shone around Eon. Once it subsided, he vanished. Eon woke up to a shining sun. ¡°Where am I?¡± he thought. Surrounded by sand, he assumed that he was teleported to the Isle of Blood. He could see the murky-blue water reaching far beyond his sight. ¡°There¡¯s no use in escaping,¡± he thought. Noticing an old paper laying one foot towards his right, he picked it up. It read, The Isle of Blood. The map portrayed a circular diagram, in which the edges of the diagram were splashed a lighter red than the center. ¡°Mhm,¡± he thought. ¡°This must mean that getting closer and closer towards the core of the island will get more and more dangerous. I wonder how dangerous the center would be since its completely black.¡± He frowned because he could not find a portal that led back to the village. ¡°Time to improve.¡± he thought, strolling towards the center of the Island. 50 meters later, he had already found his first prey. It was a 3 meters long blood red crab with large, sharp claws. Getting closer, hoping to find out more about the crab, a blue screen appeared in front of him.

After looking at the crab¡¯s stats, Eon sneered in disdain. "Looks like this is going to be easier than I thought." Walking towards the crab, he expected to crush it easily after a few hits. However, right before landing his first punch, the crab used his pincers to squeeze his arm. In pain and slowly losing health, he wildly punched at the crab. Luckily, he got a critical punch on the crab, causing it to release his arm. He jerked his arm back. He thought, ¡°Oh boy, I¡¯m just too na?ve and impatient¡ aren¡¯t I?¡± With this new revelation, he attacked again. This time, however, he rushed towards to the back of the crab. He lifted his fist, punched with all his might, and killed the crab in one go.

He smiled looking at the blue screen. After hunting more Blood Crabs for around an hour, which ranged from levels five to ten, he reached level five. "Status Window"

He observed he gained a bit more than 10% of his beginning stats upon gaining all these levels. However, [Hate] did not grow with his increasing levels, and nor did [Wisdom]. Not caring too much, he wandered deeper into the island. After walking several hundred meters, he found a new species of monsters. It seemed to be a regular wasp but with two modifications: the tip of its stinger and its body was dark red. "Identify"

Ruby Wasp Level 14 Health: 140 Defense: 24 Attack: 65 Agility: 55 Generally gather in groups, ranging from 3-100 wasps.

Luckily for him though, he did not discover a hundred wasps, which would most likely have killed him; rather, he found three. This time, however, he did not underestimate them. He had already learned the dangers of underestimating the crab. Using [Steps of Blood] to raise his agility to the max, he was able to kill the first wasp with a simple punch. The other two wasps then rushed towards him with their stingers pointed in his direction. He killed another wasp with another punch, but the remaining one stung him. Eon grimaced.

Eon''s mouth dropped open. The attack did minimal damage, but the poison would hack off 100 health in just 10 seconds! He punched again and killed the last wasp.

Gaining a level, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, but then drooped. He thought. "I really need to watch out. I can''t be careless in this island." Traveling further towards the center, he began finding wasps in greater density. Weeks had passed. His level rose to 16. With his new stats, he could kill wasps with utter ease. Even in groups of several dozens, they were only capable to attack him once or twice. He had, after all, began working harder day after day... for he watched every wasp extremely carefully. ¡°Status Window¡±

He smiled. ¡°I guess I¡¯m pretty much done here.¡± he said to himself. He began walking further, hoping to find some new monsters to hunt, but was interrupted by a large group of wasps. ¡°How annoying¡± he thought. Looking more closely, however, he saw hundreds and hundreds of wasps, perhaps even thousands! He gulped after realizing that they had noticed him. "Damn, no matter how I see this, it''s going to end badly."

Chapter 3-The Queens Defenders The Queen¡¯s Defenders ¡°Damn, why are there so many wasps here. Isn¡¯t the maximum amount one hundred?¡± Eon thought. ¡°Identify¡±

Bloody Wasp Level 17 Health: 170 Defense: 29 Attack: 73 Agility: 61 One of many wasps led by the Crimson Queen.

¡°Crimson Queen? What or who is it? And why is it leading so many damn wasps?¡± he thought. His fists and neck began dripping sweat as the wasps inched closer, so he began wildly punching the wasps while retreating. ¡°Damn it. This isn¡¯t working. They¡¯re endless,¡± he said. Bit by bit, the wasps began to overwhelm him.

¡°Shit,¡± he said. He activated [Steps of Blood] and began to fight against the mobs. But as time passed, his health dwindled from using [Steps of Blood]. However, the Ruby Wasps barely lost any health. After 15 more seconds of attempting to kill this seemingly endless amount of wasps, Eon needed a new tactic. He needed to find the Queen that controlled the wasps. Since Eon could not find the queen in the outer rim of wasps, he charged inside the horde. Wildly throwing his fists and attempting to dodge the attacks of the wasps, he began nearing the center.

Although he leveled up, his facial expression remained unchanged. He breathed heavily, kept throwing out punches, and dodged as many stingers he could. With the addition of the stat increases from the level up, he began to fight more confidently. After a few more seconds, he noticed something different. 4 wasps, slightly larger than the normal Ruby Wasp, seemed to surround some sort of entity. The 4 larger wasps were covered in a darker red than the other wasps and wore a red-velvet cloak. ¡°Identify¡±

Bloody Illusion

On sting, 20% chance that opponent¡¯s vision becomes red and temporarily loses one wisdom for one minute, which causes unintelligent decisions.

Eon gulped. Although the rest of the wasps distanced themselves from the Queen¡¯s Defenders, and thus keeping their distance from Eon as well, the situation did not improve. Not only were the defenders a ¡°Sub-Boss¡± with high stats, they also had a skill: [Bloody Illusion]. Additionally, the Queen would be even stronger. Gritting his teeth, he initiated an attack at one of the Queen Protectors. Hitting the first wasp with all his weight, he was only able to shave off around 1/5 of its health. The other three wasps began rushing towards him, their stingers facing his direction. He planted himself on the floor, causing the wasps to accidently injure their own, and causing the one he had just hit to be in a critical condition. After a few more seconds, it died. His eyes widened and his mouth dropped. 3 attacks from its comrades, one of the Queen Defenders died in a few seconds. ¡°If those attack me, I¡¯m dead,¡± he thought. Gritting his teeth, he activated [Embodiment of Anger] for the first time. A light shone light from Eon¡¯s bare skin. He became slightly taller and his muscles became more visible. Knowing that he had 10 seconds in this form, he rushed towards the lone Defender, 8 meters right from the other two. He jabbed twice with his left hand and punched with his hand. He bent down and kicked upwards with his right leg, killing the wasp. Before being able to fully jump back up to face the two Queen Defenders that neared him, he was stabbed by one on his left arm.

¡°Ah!¡± he screamed. He retracted his arm, punched the wasp, and jumped back. However, his vision became red. Holding back tears and gritting his teeth, he forced himself to stand up once more. Faintly seeing the wasps coming at him, he planted himself on the ground once more. As they passed by him, he spun around and used his left leg to kick the wasps to the ground. He stomped on them, killing them both at the same time.

He fell on the ground and [Embodiment of Anger] was deactivated. He smiled. However, his whole body trembled and his left arm limped. After resting for a few seconds, he got back up. It was then realized he overlooked a big problem: the Crimson Queen. He had no more mana. Just centimeters away from his face, an abnormally large wasp, measuring over 1.5 meters, was staring at him. He gulped.
