《I've reincarnated, but I'm a Girl! Wait, am I not even Human?》
Prologue: Im... Dead?
Hi there!
Are you here to listen to my story? Well, it''s obvious that you are.
Why would you be here if not?
Well then, let me introduce myself.
The name''s John Smith. No, it''s not a fake name, it''s really me!
Well, it''s not like I have to prove it, you''re no police-man.
And I''m no criminal either. But you already know that right?
So, let''s stop digressing. As I was saying, my name''s John Smith, I don''t have parents since I grew-up in an orphanage, and I''ll turn 22 this year.
Even though I was born in England, I''m currently living in France.
I don''t have a job yet, but that''s normal, I''m still a student.
But it''s my last year as a student! Just a few more months and I''ll finally be a teacher!
Well... I WAS going tobe a teacher¡
Gosh, what did i even study so hard for?!
History, Math, Science, Physics, Language, ¡ Heck, even Biology! I hate Biology!
Why did I have to study Biology too?!
Well I know why,It''s because I wanted to be a teacher. A good one.
When I was little, I had lots of questions about everything, and my teacher was able to answer each of them! She was so cool! I wanted to be just like her when I''d grow up.
So I started to read, a lot. And thus I learned a lot Just because I wanted to be a perfect teacher for those cute little children!!
Aaaah, don''t get me wrong, I''m not into little children! Not at all!
It''s just they''re so cute when they''re young! Cuteness is justice!
So, youth is justice too, right?

¡
Hmm?
What was that?
Well that aside...
As I was saying, I studied so hard! And all for nothing!
Why you ask? Well I''m here, so you should know why!
¡
Sorry, I got carried away.
I mean, isn''t it unfair?
I''ve learned so much, and yet...
Just because I wanted to play hero!
Well, not that I regret it, I wouldn''t be able to watch myself in a mirror if it was this cute little girl who was here, talking to you. (Couldn''t understand this part, explain please?)
But, let me complain a bit, pretty please?
¡
I''ll take that as an OK then! Thanks!
Soooooo, where was I? Ah yes, complaining.
But well, even though I say that, it wasn''t an awful day at all.
I may have overslept a bit because of the novel I was reading... yeah I know it''s a lie, I was so absorbed that I didn''t sleep at all! I even missed my bus! But I have no regret, I wouldn''t have liked to come here without being able to finish it!
Argh, digressing again!
So, I was a bit late. Not so much I would miss school, but enough to have missed the bus and to have to run to the University.
So I dressed myself up quickly, skipped breakfast, and ran to my school.
¡°Aaah, I was ¡*huff*.. quicker than ¡*huff... expected...¡± I said while panting and trying to catch my breath.
I heard a woman, far behind me, starting to yell something.
Tch, noisy! Let me rest a bit dammit!
I decided! Not my problem! I''m obviously panting, I won''t be able to catch any thief or anything!
And traffic lights are still green! I won''t risk my life pursuing someone on the road for a bag!
Even though there isn''t a car around¡ I think.
But then, the yell started to change to a scream filled with horror. ''What was that?,'' I asked myself. There''s no way someone would scream like that for a stolen bag! No way!
So I started to look behind me a bit. Twenty meters or so away was a beautiful woman. Long and wavy blonde hair, a cute little nose, red cheeks and teary eyes. There was fear in those eye! I couldn''t see their colour because she was a bit too far away, but I clearly saw she was scared to death!
Why was she scared? The answer was passing next to me, laughing.
A cute, seven years old girl looking answer.
Same hair as her mother. Well I supposed the woman was her mother.
But she was running away. She was going behind me. Behind me is the road. And the traffic lights were still green I think, so it was no good for the little miss who was running.
No good at all.
Adrenalin started to flow in my veins. Well, probably, since everything became suddenly extremely slow.
So, I turned back to look at the little girl. I saw her, a foot on the road, looking back at her mother, sticking out her tongue! Sooo cute!
But then I saw it. At her left, a 15 meters further down the road, there was a truck.
¡°Aaaah! Even if the driver saw her, he won''t be able to stop!!¡± was what went through my mind.
So I decided! I advanced toward the little miss who then noticed me, eyes full of question.
¡°What''s going on, mister?¡± was what I could read in her eyes. Well maybe I was just imagining things.
But that wasn''t gonna change what I was going to do! And I''m not praising myself, but I chose the right course of action! Would I have taken her left hand instead of her right one, would I have used her momentum and speed to swing her around to the left side instead of the right one, she would have died!
But no, my friend! I did the right thing! I analysed the situation quite well, and saved the girl!

| You have acquired the Skill: [Analysis (Lv10)] |
Argh! That sound again! And I can''t even see what made it!
But I wont be fooled again! I know I''m already dead! I heard the doctors, and that''s what they said!
Well, I''m saying that, but you already know, after all.
Soooo, I swung the young little miss as if she was weightless. Actually, she was quite slim.
Good little miss! You seem to have quite a healthy diet!
But sorry, if I don''t want you to be hit by that truck, I have to let go of you! Really sorry!
Forgive me if you can, please!
So, I let go of her, and she went *zuuuuu*, straight into... a very astonished and shocked-looking mother.
Whew, little miss will be okay. Well, her mother may be hurt, but I think she likes that better than her girl hit by a truck.
But well, the miss is out of danger, but what about me then?
Bam.
Hit by the truck.
The end¡
¡
¡
Naaaaa, that would be too pathetic!
So, I woke up. Well, somebody woke me up.
¡°...hey¡± (?)
''¡hmm? Mom?'' (John)
''Just a minute mom, I wanna sleep more'' (John)
¡°Mister?¡± *poke* (?)
Ouch! Well, it didn''t hurt actually, but mom, don''t just poke me like that!
Wait, it can''t be mom, I don''t have one in the first place!
So, I opened my eyes.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.Ouch, it hurts!! Why?!
Oh, yes¡ The truck, that''s right.
I was lying on the ground, and next to me was a crying young little miss and a crying young little miss''s mother.
¡°Hey, you two, why are you crying? Did I fail? Were you hurt, little miss?¡± (John)
The both of them looked at me strangely. Oh, they seem quite worried about me!
It makes me happy, you know? Fufufu, I think I''m gonna blush¡
¡°N-no, I''m okay! Thanks to you mister! Bu-but, y-you...¡± (Little Miss)
She couldn''t finish her sentence, as she started crying again.
¡°Aaaah, it''s okay little miss! I only did what I wanted to do! It would be such a waste if a cute little miss like you were to be hit by a truck, you know!¡± (John)
Aaaah, she''s blushing! She''s totally blushing!
I was going to do a ¡°thumbs up¡± pose but then, I saw it...
¡°Huh? My forearm? Where did it go?, I was sure I had one earlier...Aah, I can''t even facepalm anymore!¡± (John)
Aaah, she''s crying again! Nonono, no good John! Don''t make little miss cry!
Well, even if I was a bit surprised with the loss of my forearm, I just intended to make a joke.
Argh, silly me! She must think that it''s her fault that I''m in this state, and here I go about my forearm.
Talking about my arm, it was there, lying a few meters away. That''s quite troubling, to see that your forearm, that should be attached to your elbow, was not.
¡°Worry not, little miss! I *kof*, I hardly feel any pain you know! *kof kof*¡± (John)
Ah! I have to say something about her guilt!
¡°Ha! And even if I die here, it''s not your fault you know? *kof* I''m the one who chose to save you, so don''t go and think it''s your fault, okay?¡± (John)
Ooooh, little miss stopped crying! Well, she looks incredibly sad though. And her mother, well, she''s crying again. But I think she''s a bit happy about what I just said.
Would I have not said it, little miss may have tortured her soul, thinking she was at fault! No good! You''re innocent little miss! I''ll be your witness before god if you need one, you know?
¡°O-okay, mister. Th-Thank you very much for saving me!¡± (Little Miss)
Aaaah, she''s shining! Totally shining! Ah wait, no, it''s just my eyes, it''s not her.
Well, it should mean that I don''t have much time then, I guess...
¡°Aaaah, before I go to sleep, I have something I want you to promise me, okay?¡± (John)
¡°D-don''t say that, mister!¡± (Little Miss)
¡°Naaa, mister is no good, I''m not this old, you know?¡± (John)
¡°Then, how...¡± (Little Miss)
¡°My name is John¡± (John)
¡°I-I''m Claire!¡± (Claire)
¡°Well, nice to meet you Claire. So, will you promise me something?¡± (John)
¡°Yes! Anything for you, mister John!¡± (Claire)
Aaaah, I guess it''s a bit better. But still, ¡°mister¡±¡
¡°Well, then I want you to promise me that you''ll never ever run next to a road! And never cross a road without your mother! Okay Claire?¡± (John)
¡°Ye-yes! Sure! I promise!¡± (Claire)
¡°Well then, everything is okay! Ahhh, I think I''m gonna take a nap¡
No, don''t look at me like that Claire! Can''t you hear? I can hear an ambulance, so they''re certainly here to save me! They''re gonna stick back my forearm on my elbow and they''re gonna heal me! So don''t worry!¡± (John)
¡°Is that true?¡± (Claire)
Sparkles! I swear I saw some in her eyes!
¡°Ah yes, but since I''m not from France, I don''t think I''d be able to meet you again. But don''t forget your promise, okay?¡± (John)
I caught her mother''s eyes. Yup, she understood what I wanted to say.
¡°Aaaah, yes, I promised John, so I''ll totally do it!¡± (Claire)
Aaaah, she said it! She said John without adding mister! She''s so cute!
But, well¡
¡°Well, I feel sleepy, so I''m gonna take a nap. Take care, Claire.¡± (John)
¡°Yeah, you too!¡± (Claire)
And thus I closed my eyes.
Well, I totally knew I was gonna die, I said I was gonna be ok just to make her feel better.
So I thought that I was dead. Yeah, totally thought.
But no! I woke up in the hospital. Why did I wake up? I mean, I''m happy and everything, but I couldn''t feel a thing under my torso, so I totally thought I was done for.
But no, looks like I was in intensive care, and they were trying to reanimate me.
I didn''t feel any pain, but I don''t think I''d be able to forget the fact that they shocked me so many times! And yet, no pain. And I couldn''t move.
And then they stopped.
And the doctor said:
¡°Ah, such a pity, he was so young¡ Well, note the time of death please¡± (Doctor)
Then, someone closed my eyes.
¡
¡°And, next thing I know, I''m here.
Well, now that I finished my story, I must ask you.
Is this it? You know? The tunnel with the light at the end? ''Cause it certainly looks like it¡± (John)
Well, yeah, I mean, I''m in a dark place, and it looks like there''s nothing else than the light over there.
Well nothing except me and...
¡°So, mister ghost? Can you answer me please? Or maybe are you not a ghost? Are you God? Damn, if I knew you existed, I may have gone to the church you know?¡± (John)
¡°Fufufufu...¡± (Mister Ghost)
Oooh, mister ghost chuckled! Looks like it''s funny that I think he is God.
¡°But do I really have to go to that white light? I really wanted to use what I learned for something...¡± (John)
Huh? What''s this? Mister ghost looks like he''s... Smiling? It''s hard to say, ''cause he doesn''t have a face. But I think it''s a smile.
Oh, is he going somewhere? He''s not going to the light? Maybe the light is a trap then!
Well, I''ll follow mister ghost anyway, he seems nice.
I hope you''re not gonna abandon me, mister ghost, it seems that afterlife would be sad without a friend to talk to...

I woke up. I feel a bit rusty, and it seems it''s hard to move my body.
¡°Yaaawn...¡±(John)
Ah, that was such a good nap.
Huh? I feel like I forgot something¡ Well, it shouldn''t be that important since I forgot.
But then, I heard a strange voice.
¡°....................status......................problem.¡±(Male Voice)
¡°Why................see?..........................not working?¡±(Female Voice)
¡°............................know.......................seems fine.¡±(Male Voice)
Hun? What was this? It sounds a bit like French, but I hardly understand anything. And it sounds like English at the same time? What''s this?
Well, I''ll just have to open my eyes and asked what is this all about!
Thus, I opened them.
BIG MISTAKE!
What''s with this! There''s two giants here!! Two albinos giants at that! Why is this one so close to me? Get the HELL OUT OF THERE! Well, at least it''s not Cyclops! Cyclops eat humans, if the stories are true! But, heck, giants? Really?
Thus, I closed my eyes.
Yeah, I totally closed them. I mean, if I do, then this nightmare will just disappear once I open my eyes again, right?
But those giants spoke again.
¡°.................................afraid?¡±(Male Giant)
¡°¡.....fault................back...........!¡±(Female Giant)
What are they even talking about? And why is there two giants next to me? Why? What happened to me? Think!
Ah, I''m starting to remember! I was running because I was lat... huh, I mean I was having a nice little stroll toward the University. And then what?
A, yes, young little miss was running. What was her name? Oh yeah, Claire!
So, Claire was running and,... oh. That''s right, I died! I met mister ghost and followed him.
But then, where am I? I''m certainly not dead. Well, for now, ''cause those two scary giants certainly looks like they could have me for breakfast!
Damn, I''m hungry now! Speaking about such things... Well done, me!
But then...
*Pat*
Huh? Someone''s patting me? Who? Why?
Well, even if it''s scary, let''s have a look!
Ah, it looks like that miss female giant is the one who''s patting me. Well, now that I''m looking at her, it''s obvious she doesn''t see me as food. The only thing I can see in her eyes is concern
.
But then, what''s with those eyes? They''re so red! Like, totally! But, even with those red eyes, I can''t find them scary! Not with this much concern and love for me!
I try to smile.
She smiles back at me!
Good! Contact established!
But then, she looks at the male giant.
He doesn''t look so scary anymore too. But well, everybody would have freaked out if they had a giant face 20cm next to them when they woke up!
But now, he looks a bit... Pitiful? Seems like he got scolded for scarring me.
Ha! Serves you right!
Naaa, I shouldn''t be that naughty! What if he tries to secretly eat me?
Thus, I smiled at him too.
Wow! Does my smile have magical power? That giant start to have a big grin on his face!
Both of them look at me with loving eyes right now! But they do look worried about something though.
¡°....why...................status?.......ill?(Male Giant)
¡°..................but.....looks......fine.............?¡±(Female Giant)
Well, whatever, I feel fine.
But now that I can have a good look at them, I''m shocked! Utterly shocked!
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.I mean, they''re so beautiful!
The male giant is thin but doesn''t look weak at all, he has a kind of¡ nobility aura?
He has beautiful hair too. Silvery strait hair, cut at shoulder-length.
He also has a very pale skin, almost white, a bit like snow.
In contrast, he has those red eyes. His eyes looks strong and prideful, but I can discern a lot of cleverness too!
I''m not sure about giants'' criteria for beauty, but I think I can say that he has a handsome face, with chiselled features, but he also has a good looking 5 o''clock shadow. Looks like it''s on purpose, because it goes very well with his features.
And his clothing! Clearly custom-made! He has a blue shirt with darker blue patterns, and a matching jacket decorated with golden embroideries. Over the jacket, he has a golden necklace encrusted with ruby-looking gems.
He''s wearing pants which copies the style of the jacket, both in colour and pattern.
It fits him perfectly.
Same with the Female Giant! So beautiful! And she emanates the exact same aura than him! But her hair are cut at hip level, and their wavy, not strait. But still silvery.
Her face is also beautiful, with sculpted features this time, and a thin nose that screams ¡°I belong to a beauty!¡±.
But while the man was wearing blue clothes, the woman was wearing a beautiful Tudor-like noblewoman dress in the shades of red. The gable hood headdress was Bordeaux, with white lace-work and a cream coloured veil covering the upper part of her hair.
The gown she was wearing was of the same red, with large and ample sleeves, while it''s bodice was coloured in brown with crimson stripes. The kirtle had the same colour than the veil protecting her hair.
As jewellery, she wore a single golden locket. Surely with a picture of the Giant Male inside.
They do look like albinos, even though they''re definitely nobility. Well it''s not like they''re less beautiful because of it though, it would be the opposite!
¡°............so beautiful...................proud.........!¡±(Male Giant)
¡°..................our baby...............!...................normal...............beautiful?(Female Giant)
Wait...
Wait what? What did she say just now?
Baby?
They think I''m a baby? Nonono, by any means, I''m a proud 22 years old man! Not a baby!
I mean, look at this body! I''m a fully grown hum... Wait. A. Second.
What?
¡
¡
Ok, a little correction.
They are by no means giants. Not at all.
It''s just that I''m in the body of a baby.
Their baby.
So, would that make them... My parents?
While I was thinking about that, fatigues overtook my consciousness, and I fell asleep.
| Hi there! It''s me again! (?¡ö_¡ö)
I''ll try to post my other chapters quickly, but I''ve got a lot of work to do at school, so please be patient :)
I hope you''ll enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it!
Well, just like last time, tell me if I made any mistake, and tell me what you think about the story!
Well, see you next chapter |
Chapter 2: Im a... What?
Hi there.
John Smith on air right now!
Huh, don''t mind me, just talking to myself.
Well, it''s not like I have someone else to talk to. I mean, even if I can talk, I''m still a one month old baby after all.
And, well. I WAS John Smith! John Smith died in a car accident, and reincarnated in this body!
Well, my name now is¡
¡
¡
Ugh! I can''t say it! It''s so humiliating! But I better get over it sooner or later, ''cause this name will be mine untill I pass away. Again.
Soooo. My new name is... Abigaelle Lovecraft Redtear.
Yeah.
Right.
Abigaelle.
I''m a girl.
I was so shocked when I understood that fact! I mean, at first, I thought Abigaelle was my mother''s name. But no, I soon noticed that my father called her Lucrezia, and not Abigaelle.
So I thought ¡°Maybe I have a sister? So lucky!¡±
But no, no sister for the moment.
So who is she? Why does this name keeps popping up? Well, I understood the first time I had to go to the loo while being conscious.
What do I mean by being conscious? Well, it seems that I can''t stay awake very long. But it looks like that I act like a baby while I''m not conscious. Must be because of natural instincts or something.
But well, after one week or two, I had to ¡°go to the toilet¡± while being awake. I know, babies this young can''t go to the toilet. But please, just¡ let it pass for today, pretty please?
So, where was I? Oh yes! When my mum came to change my diaper, I noticed it!
There''s something missing! Totally missing! Something that should be there, that have been there for twenty two years!
I cried a bit that day.
I mean, I really thought I had been reincarnated as a boy.
And then I understood. I was none other than that mysterious Abigaelle.
By the way, I''m not 100% sure, but it seems my father''s name is Lucius.
I say I''m not sure, because he''s not here very often when I''m awake. But from what I hear, it seems that he looks after me a lot when I sleep.
What a doting father! I already like him!
I know now that you won''t eat me father! Sorry for thinking that the first time I saw you!
Ha! I forgot to say that I''ve noticed something strange! I still haven''t seen myself in a mirror, but my hair seems to be black, and not silvery like my parents. They do find this strange too apparently.
I wondered if I had escaped the fate of being an albinos, but it doesn''t seem so, because I still have snow-coloured skin. And my mother don''t stop praising my beautiful crimson-coloured eyes.
Seems like I''m truly albino then.
And, as an additional proof, we mainly live during the night, while sleeping during the day. I mean, you know, albinos people easily get burned by the sun. I''ve seen several documentaries about albinos people who became nocturnal to avoid contact with sunlight.
Because albinos haven''t any melanin.
Skin cancers aren''t a pretty sight, I''ve seen some picture in a book back when I was a guy, so I can assure you.
Ugh. ¡°Back when I was a guy¡±. I already hate this sentence!
But I noticed that father seems to work during daytime sometime! I think they''re hiding it from me though, because they always put me to bed before he goes out. Well maybe he don''t want his daughter(ugh!) to know that he is burning his skin under the sun for her sake? Or is it because they''re afraid that I''ll try to follow him? Well, I hope he is protecting himself correctly.
Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work!
But, I guess you can still say that I''m lucky, because, even though I''m albinos, I haven''t a bad eyesight. Well, it''s quite the opposite if you ask me! Ufufu, I''ve got Eagle Eyes!
But well, enough with my eyesight! Let''s talk about the other stuff!
Like, I already learned their language! Isn''t it amazing? Maybe it''s due to the fact that I''ve got a baby brain: it''s said to be like a sponge!
But, I may say that I had an advantage: it''s basically Old French! Like they spoke in the 16th century.
Well, not exactly though! It''s French, but it''s been mixed with English, and it has some words from Japanese too! Such a strange language. But well, I guess it helped me a lot learning it, since I already knew how to speak both french and english! I''m intermediate level now I think: I can speak fluently, but I don''t know much of the more complex words.
I also have a hard time with the japanese words and the honorifics system, but it will come with practice.
But even though I already know how to talk, I''m not using it.
Why?
What would you do if you had a one month old baby starting to talk, asking you various things about the world?
Exactly.
You''d freak out.
So I''m progressing slowly. I started to call them ok¨¡-san(mum) and ot¨-san(dad), but since the ¡°s¡± sound is a bit difficult to produce, the ¡°san¡± part turns into ¡°chan¡±.
They were so happy that they started crying. And it seems that they find this ¡°chan¡± very cute. Ufufu, I''ve got a new weapon now!
So yeah, I''m gonna take it slowly but surely! I''ve got a plan prepared!
I''ll start to crawl at 2 month old, even though I can already walk a bit!
I''ll start to seriously talk at 3, and at the same time, I''ll start to walk.
Once I reach 4 month, I''ll walk normally, and one month later, I''ll finish with talking
That''s still way too fast compared to a normal child, but I won''t be able to live like that longer than five month.
Oh, and I''ll have to investigate about this other girl who''s taking care of me from time to time too!
Is she a nurse? It looks like she is at least.
So yeah, I planned my 4 next month! I can take it easy then! After that, I''ll be able to learn more about this strange place where I was born!
Well, I feel kind of sleepy now, so: Oyasumi! (good night)

Hi guys! Sorry for taking so long to post! I don''t really have an excuse, it''s just that it''s very hard to keep on writing with my studies ^^ Well, I''ll try to post my chapters on sunday! See you next time :)
Chapter 3: Im... not in the 21st century?
Whoa, one year already passed since I was born in here.
My planning went smoothly, and my parents, while greatly surprised by my quick development, didn''t think of me as weird.
Well, I think so.
I mean, I don''t know how fast babies are suppose to grow up, but my parents seems like they''re really happy when they see me.
They looked worried the first month, but nada since then.
Ah! I discovered several things since I was able to move freely through the house.
Well, I say house, but it looks more like a small Middle-Age castle on top of a hill, with a village at some distance down there.
So, yeah, I live in a castle! And we have 3 maids: Sylvia, Julie and Catherine.
Sylvia is the head-maid. She''s 1m70 tall and has a slender figure. She has black long hair tied in a ponytail, and she wore simple-looking glasses on her pointy noise. Behind those glasses, you could see two chestnut darting eyes.
She is really strict towards the two other maids, but it''s normal, considering her position. On the contrary, she seems to care a great deal about me. Since I started to walk, well I mean since I officially started to, I''ve been meeting her a lot. Every time, she would talk quickly with me, asking if I needed anything, and giving me sweets if she had some on her! I suspect her to always carry sweets only for this purpose, though.
Aaaah, just how nice is she?
Well, concerning her job, it seems that she also act as our secretary. She''s managing our estate, collect taxes, and help the village when problems arise.
On the other side, Julie and Catherine are sisters. Julie is 20 and Catherine turned 23 not so long ago. They both look like each other, slender figure, long legs, shoulder length braided hair, sparkly eyes and a cheerful atmosphere.
But while Catherine has blond hair with blue eyes, Julie has ginger hair and eyes the colour of amber.
Catherine''s job is cleaning the castle and preparing our meals, while Julie is mainly taking care of me. She''s the "mysterious girl" I often saw before. She''s very nice, and she always tells me bedtime stories I never heard about before, talking about great adventures and heroes protecting people from fearful monsters.
I think I can say that, even if she takes care of me because it''s her job, she''s the first friend I made here.
Well, now that I''ve talked a bit about the people living with us, I''ll bring up the main topic.
That is: I reincarnated, but definitely not in my time-line!
Well, at first I thought I was born in a poor country somewhere in East-Europa, but I quickly corrected myself. I mean, horse carriage, maids, a castle, the clothes,¡ And the looks I received when I asked about phones, internet, and such things¡
¡°Inn-ternet? I''ve never heard about an inn called ¡°Ternet¡±. I am sorry Abigaelle-sama.¡±(Catherine)
¡°Fauns? Did you saw one? Where?¡±(Julie)
Well, I quickly dismissed their questions by saying it was nothing, but then I understood I was no longer in the 21th century.
I mean, even people living in the Amazonian Forest know about phones to some extent!
I''ll have to figure out "when" now is exactly.
And where!
Maybe I''ll get to meet famous people like Jeanne d''Arc, or Napol¨¦on... or maybe Shakespeare!
Well, now that I have said that, it''s time to party.
Why you ask? I told you earlier! It''s been one year since I arrived here.
So, yes, basically, it''s my birthday!
Yay!!!
No, I''m not overreacting at all!
I mean, it''s going to be my first birthday party with my family! Even in my previous life, I never had one. Well, I didn''t have a family to begin with. Friends? Yes, of course, but it''s not the same¡ I think.
Well, see you next time¡
Thereupon, I get out of my bed. I''m a bit rusty from getting up so suddenly, but it doesn''t last.
My eyes had already adapted to the ambient darkness. I go to the window and open the heavy curtains that block the sunlight while I sleep.
Then, I open the window and take a deep breath in the cold breeze of the night, basking in the moon light.
Aaah, so refreshing!
Well, I let the window open, and I get out of my room.
The castle is awfully silent.
Since it''s a small castle, you can normally always hear noises from the maids doing their work or ok¨¡-san ( that''s how you say mum in this language!) walking in the corridors, doing whatever she wants to do.
Well, she has lots of hobbies, but the main ones are painting and knitting. And once every week she would do some research in her office in the basement. I''m very curious about those researches, but I was strictly forbidden to enter her study. I''ll just have to wait until she allows me to enter then!
Well, now I''m just in front of the dinning room. I open the door to go have breakfast, but then¡
¡°¡°Happy Birthday, Abigaelle!¡±¡±(Parents)
¡°¡°¡°Happy Birthday, Abigaelle-sama!¡±¡±¡±(Maids)
Oh! I was honestly surprised! Even though I knew they were up to something, I didn''t think they would do it so soon in the night!
Well, I''m still very happy!
I quickly go and hug my parents. I must say, they nearly look happier than I am. Well, nearly.
¡°Aaaah, it''s only been one year, and yet you grew up so quickly! Already walking and talking, we are so happy!¡±(Mum)
¡°Eeeeh? Really, ok¨¡-san?¡±(Abigaelle)
Yay! Praise me more!
¡°Well, even if you say that, Abigaelle, it''s only the truth. To have you walking and talking in only five month! Truly exceptional!¡±(Dad)
More praise! Thank you ot¨-san (the word for dad), I''m so happy!
¡°But don''t burden yourself with it, okay? We will love you even if you don''t do anything amazing, sweetheart.¡±(Mum)
Ooooh, they were worried about me working so hard? How nice.
¡°It''s okay, ok¨¡-chan, I''m only working hard because I love to!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°If you say so, then we have nothing else to say¡±(Dad)
Ah. It''s still quite hard to say "san"... I always blunder and say "chan" in the end.
But they find it cute, so...
I quit the embrace of my parents and turn to look at the three maids standing close to each other.
They were about to say something when...
*Boing*
*Clung*
I magnificently jumped toward them and clung to them, hugging the three at the same time without letting them enough time to say anything.
¡°Aaaah, Abigaelle-sama, what are you...¡±(Julie)
¡°Ye-yeah, clinging to us like that so suddenly¡±(Catherine)
¡°You shouldn''t do that, Abigaelle-sama! Hugging us like that is inappropriate!¡±(Sylvia)
"What?! Why? Why can''t I hug my one-san?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°O-one-saaaan?¡±(Catherine)
¡°She-she called me one-san! She-she finally did¡¡±(Julie)
¡°A-are you sure? Hugging is a bit...¡±(Sylvia)
Oooh? What is it Julie? Did you secretly wanted me to call you onee-san (big-sis, if you prefer)?
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. You should have asked me, you know?
I would have done it if it''s for you!
¡°Yeah! I can''t see you as anything except my three onee-san!¡±(Abigaelle)
[¡]
Once the three maids had calmed down a bit, I let go of their neck, and thus the party began.
I didn''t notice earlier, but the room was brightly lit with numerous candles. It looks like we''re in the middle of the day.
Aaaah, I miss the sun so much!
Back to the topic, a real feast was displayed on the table. It seems Catherine-san made it for the party.
I was going to start eating, when I noticed that the maids where still standing behind us.
Hun? They aren''t planning to not eat with us, are they?
Oh, right, we''re somewhere in the Middle-Age right now. Maids don''t eat with their employer...
I silently look at my parents to ask for their permission, and once they gave me their approval, I asked the three maids to take a seat.
They started to complain, but I insisted, saying that I would only eat with every one.
Ufufufu, they can''t resist me! Cuteness is the ultimate weapon!
Cuteness is Justice!
Well, the party was very fun! I kept teasing Julie-san by calling her onee-san, and she seemed very happy. I interog¡hum, I asked her why, and it seems that she always dreamed to have a little sister, but all she ever had were 3 big brothers and Catherine, but no little sister.
Well now that she says that, I realise that I do want a little sister too. A cute little sister that I would spoil to death!
No, let''s refrain a bit, she would end up with an awful character if I were to...
Well, once we finished eating, they brought me the gifts they had prepared.
Ot¨-san(Dad) gave me two books. It seems the first one is a history book, and he told me that Julie was going to teach me how to read and write with it.
The second one is blank and is mine to fill as it fits me.
Well, once I''ll have learn how to write, that is.
¡°That''s perfect, ot¨-san! Than you very much¡±(Abigaelle)
Well, it truly was. I mean, I can''t possibly learn how to read on my own! And at the same time, I''ll learn exactly when and where I am. I mean, as a one year old child, I can''t just go and ask things like that.
Well, truth is, I had forgotten to ask.
But I won''t now! Not any more!
And with the blank one, I''ll be able to start researching stuff to bring from the 21st century. And I exactly know what I''ll work on first!
Ufufu, shiver, Sun, for the great I will devise a Shield that will render your dangerous rays powerless!
Mouahahahaha
Well, digression, aside, ¨ka-san gave me a room in the basement. She said that this way I could study comfortably.
Apparently, she had put a desk and a bookshelf in it for me too. Well, since she gave me a room, I asked her if I could have some tools too. Aaah, the face she pulled!
She was so surprised! Well, I guess she was, I mean, gender aside, little children don''t tend to ask for hammers, saws and nails for their birthday.
Wait, was that really okay? I mean, I don''t really know how fast a child is supposed to grow up, but asking for tools already?
Aren''t I too fast?
Well, I think she wanted to refuse, but seeing how serious I was about it, she agreed, with conditions regarding my safety.
A young child cuteness really is a fearful weapon!
And thank you ok¨¡-san! Thanks to you, I will be able to retrieve one of my old hobbies: crafting!
And the moment I would be walking under the Sun again keeps getting closer!
Even the maids had something for me!
I told them that they shouldn''t have spent money for me, but Julie retorted with a wink that it was normal between sisters. Aaaah, she got me!
Well, I decided to accept, then. But they won''t be able to refuse me when I will be the one giving gifts!
Ufufu!
So, they gave me three present. The first was a huuuuge bag filled with what looked like french-style fudges: some caramel beurre sal¨¦.
Of course, Sylvia made them. She''s the only one who knew they were my favorite!
You''re the best, Sylvia-san!
The second gift was a little bracelet they made with their hair. It was very good-looking, and it seems the size was adjustable, so I''ll be able to keep it even after growing up a lot.
They said it was a magic talisman supposed to help me find my way back home if I was ever to get lost.
Well, thank you, I really love it, but I don''t believe in magic since I was five.
But I can''t tell them that though.
I mean, I''m not even five yet...
And the last one is a beautiful hairpin made out of amber. Its head was beautifully carved in a rose-pattern. I tell them how pretty it is, and I learn that Julie is the one who carved this!
I can''t wait to try this on, but sadly we don''t have mirrors. Well they should be extremely expensive I think, looking at the actual technology level.
Thus the party ended. The maids went to clean up the table, and ot¨-san(Dad) went with me in my new room in the basement.
That it was really cosy is the least I could say. There was a desk in the top right corner, made of a sturdy dark-brown wood and had beautiful carving on the sides. I could see a matching chair next to it, with red cushions.
Louis Treize style! That''s so classy!
In the opposite side of the room, I could see the bookshelf she talked about. For the moment, it was empty, but I do plan on filling it up with interesting books in the future.
There was a sofa next to it, and it looked like I would sink in if I were to sit on it.
Well, I''ll do just that then!
The corner next to the door stood empty.
For now.
I think it will be my crafting space in the future!
I spent the next hours with ot¨-san, swallowed up in the softness of the sofa, learning about this language alphabet and the pronunciation of the letters. It was quite different from what I knew: the letters seems different from the classic alphabet and the ones I recognised didn''t sound how they should have.
Well, it''s a different language, and I should feel lucky that it isn''t based on ideograms like hieroglyphs and kanji.
Julie walked into the room two hours before sunrise and took me back to my bedroom. She already had closed my window and the curtains, but the room was still fresh from the nigh air.
I jumped into my bed and went under the blanket.
I was waiting for Julie to start her traditional fairy-tales bedtime stories.
But she seemed to have something else on her mind tonight.
As I was thinking that¡
¡°Abigaelle-sama?¡±(Julie)
¡°Yes, one-san?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°W... Would you like me to show you some magic?(Julie)
[...]
Chapter 4 : Im… in a fantasy world ?
[...]
¡°Abigaelle-sama?¡±(Julie)
¡°Yes, onee-san?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Would you like me to show you magic?(Julie)
Oh? Is she planning to steal my nose? Or will she pull out a coin from one of my ear?
Well, let''s see and act like I''m surprised.
¡°Hun? Magic? What is it? I want to see!¡±(Abigaelle)
Ufufu, pretending sure is easy! Well, I''m just copying what the children used to say when I asked them the same thing.
I hope there wasn''t anyone reincarnated among them, now that I think about it.
I would have looked like a fool.
¡°Well, look attentively at me then, Abigaelle-sama.¡±(Julie)
As soon as she says that, she strikes an ¡°arm pump¡± pose, but with her palm open toward the sky.
Then, she began chanting a magic-y formula.
¡°O, glorious Spirit of the flame
You who reigneth o''er the fireth realm¡¡± (Julie)
Ooo, that''s a new one! What is it gonna be? Firecrackers? Fireworks?
¡°...I asketh of thou to lendeth me thy power
To maketh a fireth that will nothing devour.
Will O'' the Wisp!¡± (Julie)
-whoosh-
¡
Rhetorical question: did you ever saw a one year old little girl jumping in the air a meter behind herself, cowering against a wall and pointing her index at you like you were some sort of child-eating demon?
Well, Julie just did...
¡
¡°W-w-w-w-w-what is that THING?!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°What is going on, Abigaelle-sama? What is the problem?¡±(Julie)
¡°Why is there fireball on your hand? And why are you acting like it''s normal!?!¡±(Abigaelle)
Well, yeah, I mean, a blue fireball just appeared on her hand, and she''s acting like it''s perfectly normal! Where are the shriek of pain due to her hand being burned? Why is she so calm about it?
Was that something she expected? Ah, ah, let''s take some deep breath.
Yeah that''s it, come on, calm down. Julie looks more astonished by me than by the fire, so it should be okay.
Maybe it''s a mirror trick?
¡°But it''s okay Abigaelle-sama! It''s not Fireball, it''s ¡°Will O'' the Wisp¡±, you know? There isn''t anything to fear about it, it''s heat-less and harm-less.¡±(Julie)
¡°Re-really?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Yes, I swear! Do you want to touch it?¡±(Julie)
¡°N-no, it''s okay!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°But, you know, it''s the first time a child your age reacted this way...(Julie)
¡°Really? But isn''t fire dangerous?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Ara? Now that you''re talking about it... You know about fire?¡±(Julie)
¡°Of course I do!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°But, how? I mean, you never saw it, right?¡±(Julie)
Aaaah, now that she says this, it''s true that I never saw a fire before in this life. Even during winter, the weather isn''t so cold, and the castle stays warm. No need for a fire in that case.
¡°...Well, it''s because I heard about it, that it could burn houses and persons alike! That it was a painful thing not to approach!¡± (Abigaelle)
Yeah, I shouldn''t forget my age. I''ll definitely tell them about this reincarnation thing someday.
But not before I turn twenty-ish, though!
¡°Well, if you''ve heard about fire like that, I guess it''s normal for you to be afraid. But this one is harmless, so it''s ok.¡±(Julie)
¡°Y-yeah, I know, now. But, about that, how did you do it?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Hun? With magic of course.¡±(Julie)
¡°No, I mean really! Is it an inflammable liquid, or maybe a mirror trick? I really want to know!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°But, it really is magic Abigaelle-sama. See?¡±(Julie)
And then, she did something that no physical laws could permit.
Well, it''s not like harmless and heat-less fire wasn''t already borderline, but to actually manipulate a ball of fire and to make it hover in the air freely isn''t something that my knowledge can explain.
¡°H-how...?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, it''s thanks to magical power. Doesn''t the word Mana ring a bell? Didn''t you heard about it before Abigaelle-sama?¡±(Julie)
I certainly did. But not in this life though... And certainly not as a physical phenomenon...
¡°Well,¡ no, I guess not¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Ah, then I am really sorry Abigaelle-sama. Sometimes, your cleverness makes me forget that you really are still just a child.
I shouldn''t have shown you something that afraid you so much. I''ll have to report that to your parents.¡±(Julie)
¡°Ah, no, it''s not your fault, Julie onee-san, you couldn''t know... So really, don''t think about it anymore.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°But, for me to scare Abigaelle-sama this much...¡±(Julie)
¡°Julie, just... please, don''t talk about that, okay?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Is it really okay, Abigaelle-sama?¡±(Julie)
¡°Of course it is. But then, was that really magic? How did you do that?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, if you really say that it is okay... But I''m afraid I don''t know if I can explain it very well. I''m just a maid, not a teacher, after all.¡±(Julie)
¡°Could you try? It''s okay even if I don''t understand!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, I will try then...
To begin with, everything has magic power in them, and most of living things can use it.
The energy used to create magic is called Mana, and ¡°Mana Pool¡± is the term used to talk about your Mana capacity.
If you don''t have a Mana Pool large enough to cast a spell, then you can''t use magic without specific tools, but they are quite pricey.
And having Mana is just but a prerequisite. If you want to cast [Elemental Magic] spells, for example, you will normally have to borrow the power from a spirit with a chant, like I did earlier.
There is also [Non-Elemental Magic] spells, which are usually easier to use and don''t require a chant.
And then there is [Mystic Magic] spells, but I just don''t really know how those works, since I don''t know any.¡±(Julie)
¡°Julie onee-san, can I ask you some questions? I''ve been curious about two things you said.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Of course Abigaelle-sama, I will try my best to answer your concern.¡±(Julie)
¡°You said earlier that you normally have to borrow power from a spirit, then does that mean some can use ¡°Elemental Magic¡± without a spirit?(Abigaelle)
¡°Ara, as expected of Abigaelle-sama, you noticed. Well, yes, there is two cases where you can cast magic without asking for a spirit''s help. The first one is, as I said earlier, when you cast [Non-Elemental Magic] spells, like [Body Strengthening] or [Magic-Shield]. Because they are non-elemental, you don''t need a Spirit to cast them, you just have to be skilled with manipulating and using Mana.¡±(Julie)
¡°And the second case?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, about this one, nobody really knows. It is said that some people actually managed to cast Elemental Magic spells without even chanting, but since no records of how they did it were found and nobody was able to reproduced it, it is not known if it is truly possible. We only know that this way of casting uses less Mana than borrowing help from a Spirit.
It is also said that, in fear that someone would try to stole their knowledge, people who actually can do it tends to hide that fact.¡±(Julie)
¡°Aha, I see. But then, what are those Spirits, exactly?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°To that question, I cannot answer, Abigaelle-sama. I am truly sorry.¡±(Julie)
She seems... uneasy? Why? I want to know!
¡°You don''t know? Even though you''re asking for their help?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Ah, well, it''s not that I don''t know, it''s more like there is lots of different opinions, and I wouldn''t like it if you were to take my explanation for granted...¡±(Julie)
¡°Then could you give me some examples? This way I could make my own opinion?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°In that case I... I guess I can.
Well, firstly, the most common opinion is that Spirits are Gods'' children, and they''ve been given the task to rule over the elements. And that''s why we need their permission to use the elements they rule.
The second one is that Spirits are a part of ourselves, and that calling them to ask for their power amount to draw power from within yourself.
The third and last one is that Spirits are just mystical beings who have gained mastery over the elements thanks to their knowledge and power, thus the caster simply ask them to lend him or her this mastery in exchange for some of their Mana.
There are lots of other beliefs, but only on the personal level, and aren''t really taken into account.¡±(Julie)
Oooh, so it''s like there is several religions here too. Good to know. Well, if spirits and gods do exist here, I already know which theory is the most likely to be exact...
Well, even if they exist, I''m still an apatheist, so, not my problem! At the limit, I may worship Ghost-san. Should I say Ghost-sama then? He did give me a second life...
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. No, I''ll stick with Ghost-san. I''d prefere it if I where him. Or her. Or it.
¡°Then wouldn''t that make the third one the most logical?¡±(Abigaelle)
Huh?
Why does it looks like a boxer just hammer-punched her? Did I say something wrong?
Is she gonna say that I''m a heretic, and burn me right here with this harmless flame?
Nai wa!
Why did I forgot something so basic?
Do NOT discuss religious stuff with a person you do not know the religion!
¡°H-how did you come to this conclusion, Abigaelle-sama?¡±(Julie)
Ah? She wants an explanation? Not to burn me to a crisp?
Sorry onee-san! Sorry for doubting you!
¡°Well, there was two things. The first one is that you talked about people who can use [Elemental Magic] without the help of a Spirits. That invalidate the first choice, since it would mean that those people are at least as powerful as the Gods who created this world.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°But that still leaves two other choices.¡±(Julie)
¡°That would be true if you hadn''t mentioned that the people who didn''t rely on the Spirits'' help used less Mana than the others, and that invalidate the second choice, because in this case, asking or not for the Spirits'' help is the same thing, thus the amount of Mana used would stay the same.
And that leaves the last choice, that fits perfectly: by having to ask for the Spirit''s help, you add one more step in the process of casting the spell, thus augmenting it''s cost. If you don''t ask for their help and somehow succeed in casting the spell, then you would use less Mana. Am I wrong?(Abigaelle)
¡°N-not at all, Abigaelle-sama, I was just surprised that you would adhere to your family''s belief right away! And what more, you even did it not because of beliefs, but through logical thinking! To do that at the mere age of one, you truly are a genius! Your parents will really be overjoyed.¡±(Julie)
¡°Ah, even if you say so, it wasn''t really¡¡±(Abigaelle)

¡°Things? What things?¡±(Julie)
¡°Those blue boxes! And what are they talking about!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Wait, Abigaelle-sama, blue boxes? You can you actually see them?!¡±(Julie)
¡°Of course I can! They''re taking half of my field of view!
Oh, they disappeared! What where they Julie onee-san?
Wait, onee-san, are you okay?¡±(Abigaelle)
I''m asking this, because, you know, it''s actually the good question to ask when somebody suddenly break down in tears for no particular reason.
Well, she managed to calm herself after a few minutes.
I don''t know what''s going on any more, but this poor Julie, she''s just receiving shocks one after another today... I''m sorry! It''s not my fault, the blue boxes are to blame!
If you''re gonna sue someone, sue them! Not me!
But at this rate, I thin I might brake her someday...
¡°I am sorry to show you such an unsightly view, Abigaelle-sama, but I was so happy! So you can actually see them?¡±(Julie)
¡°Yes, I-I can... I-is that such a big deal?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Normally I would say no, but in your case, it''s very important!¡±(Julie)
¡°What do you mean? Are those blue things a common thing?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, you see, when babies are born, their parents can check their condition through the use of a spell called [Status]. It can display their health, Mana Pool, and inherent Skills, as well as some other various informations. And since Abigaelle-sama was born with black hair and not silvery ones, your parents wanted to check if you had anything that could explain it. Unfortunately, they weren''t able to do so, because only an empty window appeared instead of your [Status]. They then thought that you may be devoid of any magical power, and were very afraid of the curse that could have turned your hair black. But since you were growing healthily, only the concerns about you being devoid of any magical power remained.¡±(Julie)
Oooh, so this world has magic AND status? Or am I in a game? I don''t really know anymore.
But well, there is one thing that worries me...
¡°When you said that my parents tried to see my status, does that mean that anyone can see it?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Oh, thanks the Spirits no! Only your parents can freely see your [Status], and only until you turn three, that is, when you can begin to use your Mana.
But even though, some highly skilled spies could be able to see some information about your [Status], but it''s really a rare case, and doesn''t really concern you.¡±(Julie)
I see, I see.
¡°Then, how can I see my [Status]?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°You only have to think about how the [Status] screen should look like, and then link this image in your mind to the word ¡°status¡± while using some of your Mana.
However, you can''t do it until you turn three, and your parents have to help you the first time, because you will be unable to freely use the Mana inside you without them.
But people tends to... faint, on their first time¡±(Julie)
¡°Ah...¡±(Abigaelle)
I''m totally depressed right now, and I swear that it''s showing on my face.
I can''t use magic till I''m three?
You tell me there''s magic here, and just after that, you tell me I won''t be able to use for the next two years?
And what''s this about fainting?
Well, since I''m a reincarnated person, maybe it won''t happen to me?
Yeah, that should be it.
That will be it. It can''t be any! Other! Way!
Because I totally hate fainting. It''s gross.
¡°Hum, Abigaelle-sama, may I ask you something?¡±(Julie)
¡°Of course, what is it?¡±(Abigaelle)
Don''t you see I''m sulking, onee-san? Please cheer me up! I''m begging you!
¡°I was wondering what was the content of those two boxes¡±(Julie)
¡°Ah well, the first one was a Skill, something about [Logical Thinking]¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Oooh, did you acquire the skill?¡±(Julie)
¡°Oh no, it said it evolved from level 6 to level 7¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Level¡7?¡±(Julie)
¡°Yes, why, is it bad? Hey, Julie onee-san, are you okay? What''s wrong?¡±(Abigaelle)
Somehow, she seems¡ broken? She''s staring blankly at me, like she just discovered that Aliens were invading her garden.
Aaaah! I''ve done it again. Did she broke already?
But as I was thinking that...
¡°You are truly amazing, Abigaelle-sama! To have obtained the Skill [Logical Thinking (Lv7)] at such a young age, you are not even on the level of a genius, you''re a real prodigy!¡±(Julie)

¡°About a Title changing from [Genius] to [Child prodigy]. But please, don''t say anything. I don''t want more blue windows for now!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°A-as you want, Abigaelle-sama. But I really can''t wait to see what your [Status] is actually hiding!¡±(Julie)
I know I wanted you to praise me, but you overdid it there, onee-san!
And all those pop-up are giving me a headache!
Hey but, now that I''m thinking about it...
¡°But, say, how come those windows never showed up before today?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, in fact, they already have, but it seems that they mostly appear during sleep for children. We don''t know why though.¡±(Julie)
Well, that''s kinda logical, children learn during the day, and the brain ¡°saves the data¡± while they sleep.
But, even if I say that it''s logic, it''s only a hunch.
¡°Well, for now Abigaelle-sama, I do have to report this to your parents, so please excuse me.¡±(Julie)
¡°Of course Julie onee-san, but I am going to sleep right away, because my head is hurting right now, so please tell them to wait for tomorrow night before they start interrogating me.

Chapter 5 : Im… going to study hard!
Well, several months passed since I learned about magic''s existence.
The day after this discovery, ok¨¡-san, ot¨-san and the three maids were waiting for me in the living room, chatting noisily.
¡°Do they already know about my Skill and Titles?¡± is what I was asking myself.
Everybody went silent once I entered the room.
Yup, they knew.
Well, that much was expected.
Lets pass the thorough investigation my parents put me through¡ Everybody looked very¡ astonished, to say the least, about my [Logical Thinking (Lv7)].
Did Julie not told them in details? Or maybe they didn''t believe her?
I asked them why they were surprised like this, and it seems that the people who had this level of skill numbered less than a thousand. They said that in a case out of two, people will die without even obtaining the skill.
And the level seems to be pretty hight too, considering that level ten is the highest possible.
So yeah, I''m actually pretty clever it seems.
According to this world scale at least.
Well, from what I learned, one is able to learn a Skill and to level it up by practicing an activity associated to it.
So for ¡°Logical Thinking¡±, you just need to think logically.
But, if one person out of two don''t even have the skill, does it mean that half the population is dumb? Do they not have any school?
This idea was quickly dismissed. [Logical Thinking(Lv2)] is high level enough for a teacher. And they do have schools, but not many poor children goes there because they have to help their parents with their work.
Well, truth is, if commoners goes to school, nobles children bullies them until they stop going.
...
I want to make a school! For poor, homeless and orphan children !
I''ll have to win lots of money though, ''cause it''s gonna be pricey. And homeless children wouldn''t go unless I can give them food and a roof for the night.
I always wanted to be a teacher, but in this world? Maybe I could aim higher!
I''ll have to think seriously about it. It''s nothing but a project for now.
That aside.
It''s Titles'' turn now.
Titles are supposed to be rewards given by the Spirits to someone who has accomplished several linked actions. For example, to obtain [Genius], one has to show exceptional aptitudes in a specific field and has to be recognized has such. For example, if people told me my discovery was wrong, then I would have gained [Misunderstood Genius] instead of [Acknowledged Genius].
I wonder what''s the difference between those two?
Oh, and if someone gains the Title [Acknowledged Genius] before being ten years old, then [Genius] change into [Child Prodigy].
Those Titles seems to give several bonuses. In my case for example, [Child Prodigy] is known to make a child learn everything twice as fast as normal.
Quite handy, isn''t it?
But...
Doesn''t it looks like a game a bit too much? I asked them where this [Status] magic came from, and it seems that a man from a foreign world invented it sixty years ago.
Ufufu, I see. It looks like a game because it was made by a gamer! This guy must have come from Earth too! But it doesn''t make it useless in the least! It is quite practical, if I was to say so! Thank you, fellow ¡°World Traveler¡±!
But, in his case, he didn''t reincarnated, he was apparently accidentally warped here, because of a natural magic phenomenon.
Ah, and before he invented that Spell, the Skills'' and Spells'' evolution didn''t appear through blue boxes, but were announced by a ¡°Voice from Heaven¡±.
Hun?
Wait a moment...
"Accidentally warped here?".
Then, can it be that I could be warped back to my first world?
I''ll have to do some research on that!
Aaah, don''t get me wrong. It''s not to return to my world.
It''s to not to.
If I know how to come back, I''ll just have to avoid it by all means.
I love this world.
I love my family.
I didn''t have anyone, except friends, in my old world.
And well, even if I''d want to come back, I''m not John Smith anymore.
I''m Abigaelle Lovecraft Redtear.
A resident of this world.
Problem solved.
Well, that aside, it seems like I won''t be able to do any magic, and thus see my Status, before I turn three. And even then, I won''t be allowed to do any Elemental Magic before I turn seven.
I asked why, and it seems that Mana isn''t stable, and thus safely usable, before one''s third birthday, and most children die while experimenting with Elemental Magic, so they are forbidden to use it until seven. Well, it''s true that it wouldn''t be safe to give children the power to make everything burn or explode!
And I won''t even talk about [Unholy Magic]. This one is pretty nasty! There is even a Spell based on a torture device.
Yuk!
Well, I''ll just have to wait patiently and have fun in the meantime then.
It''s what I was thinking, but it seems that regarding my Title and the Skill I have, my parents decided to begin my classes earlier than what was intended.
Thus, the week following those events, my lessons began.
Wait! That''s a too soon... is what I would say, but... I''m the one to blame here.
And even though, I would have started them next year anyway, it seems.
Isn''t that too quick? Well, that''s another world common sense for you.
Maybe humans grow faster here? Is it because of magic?
Well...
My father taught me how to read in three weeks while he began to teach me history. Well, I didn''t show I could read though. Let''s take it slowly.
I wonder if I''m not going too fast? I mean, even though I played a lot with children, I have absolutely no idea how fast they''re supposed to grow. And do I even have to worry about that? I''m in another world after all, humans may grow differently here...
At least my parents aren''t that surprised by my growth rate.
Let''s take it slowly anyway.
And...
Yes! Finally! This long-awaited event finally came!
Well, you may not know it, but I''m quite fond of history! And this world''s history is particularly exceptional!
For example, it seems that we are in the year 822.
But then, what is the starting point, you ask? What happened 822 years ago here? Did a bearded Saviour-san appeared in this world too you ask?
Nay, it''s not that. It''s something much more gruesome.
They call it ¡°The Event¡±.
That''s... pretty generic...
Well, it seems that a religious order, whose name has now been erased from every books and stories, decided that magical beings were Evil, and that they needed to be purged. They conducted huge hunts and collected a lot of magical beings, even humans, and they took advantage of some special event to conduct a ritual and expel every magical being from this world, but it seems that it misfired, and the exact opposite happened, and every non-magical beings were wiped out without leaving a single trace.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. The remaining cultists were then judged and executed, and the religious order disappeared.
The following century was then plunged into chaos. Massive immigration from the East took place because of dragons rampaging, wars to seize empty territory broke out,¡
Oh yeah, Dragons exist here. As well as Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, Beastmens, Therianthropes,¡ Heck, even Brownies! The fairy kind, not the edible one. Chocolate brownie doesn''t exist here¡
Why? Why is this world so cruel? Did I ever do something wrong? Give me some brownies! Or cookies, at least! Is there a [Cookie Maker] Skill?
If there is, I''ll have it!
Hum, that aside, as I was about to say, after one century, the situation settled, and apart from few skirmishes, only two big wars took place.
I asked if I could see some maps, but it seems that the accurate ones are considered kind of national secret, and it will be a bit difficult to buy some, even the non accurate type, since they''re only sold by Merchant Guilds.
Ot¨-san said he could have tried to make one by memory, but since it would be very inaccurate and he doesn''t want me to start learning with false basis, he won''t.
I guess I''ll have to wait for that too.
And I''m currently learning each races main history and believes, since ot¨-san told me it will be useful if I were to deal with them. We''re doing it in alphabetical order, but we''re only at Elves at the moment.
Heck, those lucky bast¡ hum, guys, have a thousand-year lifespan!
I want that too!
Well, that''s about everything I learned for now, apart from useless information.
Well, useless, but not uninteresting.
Enough talking about History. Next is Mathematics.
Well, this one''s gonna be short. I was planning to do things smoothly, but I got annoyed, and so I finished my lessons in three months. Well, the ¡°hardest¡± thing was divisions, so it was nothing if you were to compare it with what I was doing back in the university.
Yeah, piece of cake. But I have to say that ok¨¡-san''s face was quite a sight when I resolved four digits divisions by myself. That is, it shouldn''t be possible. It''s hard even for maths teachers of this world.
I''m evil, ufufu.
But no [Evil Genius] Title was acquired though.
The most difficult lesson was Etiquette. I had to learn how to talk, how to walk, how to behave properly, how to eat, how to speak¡ Even how to dance! I suck at dancing! I don''t really want to be a noble you know? I plan to travel the world a bit, have my share of adventure, and then be a teacher!
Well, I did won a few skill. [Dance(Lv1)], [Etiquette(Lv3)], [Horseback Riding(Lv3)],¡
Well, Etiquette was already level 2 to begin with. And it seems level three is quite good for a noble. I''m lucky I''m no royalty then, because I would have to work until level 5, at least... But I don''t know how I even got it level two in the first place. I mean, ¡°etiquette¡± isn''t something common folks learns on Earth, right? At least, not in France. If we''re talking about Japan, then I can''t say...
And the last lesson was Economic. I have to say I was genuinely surprised by that, as I didn''t think I would have to learn it. But mother said that, even as a noble, it was very important to learn things like currency change rate, tax management, and such.
I obtained some quite useful Skills there, I have to admit, such as [Bargain(Lv4)], [Appraisal(Lv4)] and [Tax Management (Lv3)]. I even had [Economy Understanding (Intermediate)] evolve into [Economy Understanding (Advanced)]. Well, even though I was well aware about my world economic system, aka Capitalism, this world''s system is quite different, so I actually learned new and interesting things.
Oh, yeah, I learned about the currency used in Taovania, this country.
I was really relieved when I learned that it was based on a decimal system.
What I mean is, if you''ve got ten cents, then it will make one Euro.
Even though, of course, they don''t use Euros. But I was worried it would work like Shillings or Deniers before... That would have been a real pain...
So yeah, as I said they don''t use Euros. Or Pounds.
Of course they don''t.
They use the ¡°Taovar¡±.
Well, France used Franc, Europe use Euro, so Taovania use Taovar.
I can''t blame their naming sense.
Ugh. Digressing again!
So yeah, they use the Taovar.
The smallest coin is copper coin. Of course it is! Well, I say of course, but in my world, copper was quite pricey...
Then, equal to ten Copper Coins is a Brass Coin.
Then, Ten brass coin is a Silver Coin, and ten Silver Coins is a Gold Coin.
Well, I won''t compare them to Euros'' value. There would be no point. Comparing money from different time frames is nearly impossible, so imagine between different world...
Well, let''s just say that a farmer would have to work a month to win 3 Gold Coins, which will be sufficient to feed a big family and still have enough to continue living and pay taxes.
An average full plate armour cost 1 Gold Coin, an iron sword 1 Silver Coin, and a dagger, 3 Brass Coin.
I thought that it was quite cheap, and it seems it''s because magic does make metallurgy easier.
And those price are only Taovania''s average. They change depending of the country, the city, if there is a war,...
Well, most of the countries use this system, with slight differences, especially with the coin higher than the Gold Coin.
For example, in Taovania, there is the Magic Gold Coin. It is a pure Gold Coin, but a magic seal was implanted in it. It''s worth a hundred Gold Coin, and is nearly impossible to reproduce.
Ah, by the way, making false money is automatically sentenced by death, so not a lot of people tries to do it.
I won''t at least.
Well, this will be pretty useful in the future, I think.
Actually, I have more free time than I used to, thanks to my quick progress in Economy and Mathematics.
Thus I was able to begin crafting.
I needed materials, so I asked my parents if they could buy me wood planks, long wooden rods, black and white paint, bee wax and some nails.
I already saw something that looked like flax around our castle, and I asked my parents if it''s used to make something. I guess it''s the same thing than the one I knew, because they seem to make fabric and oil out of it, so I asked them if they could buy some. Linseed oil is quite useful for what I want to make, after all, and I do need linen. It seems it''s quite cheap too.
They all look pretty curious about it, but I forbid everyone to look at my work before I finished it. I just ask for one of the maids or ok¨¡-san''s help whenever I want to use the saw or any dangerous tool, because they would be worried otherwise.
Well, I know I''m being a bit selfish, but it would really be worth the cost!
Ufufufu, beware, World, for I am preparing your conquest!
Chapter 6: Im… an Inventor! And a troublemaker…
I''m nearly two years old now.
¡
Yeah, nearly two years, and I never saw the Sun once.
Never, until now.
Because I made it! After many trials and errors! I made it!
I had to ask my parents'' help for some part, essentially with drilling and sawing the wood, because it necessitated strength I lacked.
The trickiest part was to coat the linen-lookalike fabric with a mix of bee wax and linseed-oil.
It was quite hard to dose, and the coating part wasn''t actually necessary for what I intend to use it, but I made it anyway. It will still be helpful, and it wouldn''t be perfect without it.
Well, it still need a second coat.
So yeah. Today, 6.00am-ish. I finished my ¡°invention¡±.
I made this world''s first umbrella!
Well, I think it''s the first at least¡
The sliding part is a bit primitive, as it is just a ring of wood blocked by a removable pin, and there isn''t any retractable handle, but still!
It is a very nice looking umbrella. I painted it black, and I''ve sewn a white lace-work on its hem.
Well, yes, it''s a goth-looking umbrella.
But I made it like that because it just goes perfectly with one of my dress.
Yes, it''s a black dress.
I love black.
I love white too, but, well, it doesn''t exactly go well with how I look.
I mean, I''d look even more like a ghost than Ghost-san himself, you know?
Does the name Samara Morgan ¡°ring¡± a bell?
Ara? Did you get it? Ufufu!
Ah, right, no, you can''t. I''m not even sure you can hear me.
Ugh.
But, well, I know what you''re gonna say. I''m supposed to be a man inside.
But, I WAS a man. I''m not one anymore now. And since I wore dresses for the past two years, I grew accustomed to it.
And well, goth-lolita are cute! And cute is Justice! So you can''t say anything!
Ufufufu!
So, as I''m thinking that, I finish the last touch.
And then...

I won a Job too? I wonder what it does...
And, does the Status even store recipe? That''s quite handy!
Maybe it''s thanks to this [Craftsman(Intermediate)] Job then?
Well, for now, I can''t use [Status]. So let''s push that aside, and put this umbrella to good use.
Thus, I quickly sew together the bits of leftover linen to make a satchel.

Hun? Ya pickin'' a fight? Ya sayin'' I''m making Stone-Age like stuff?
Joke aside, I''ve got nearly everything I needed. I just have to pass by the kitchen to take something to eat.
So¡
For the first time in nearly two year!
Let''s go! Let''s have a stroll under the sunlight!
Banza?!
[¡]
Aaaah, you can''t even imagine how I feel right now!
The Sun! On my skin! Finally!
I thought that, me being an albinos, I would quickly get incommoded by the sunlight, thus the umbrella. But not really, I just feel warm. No burning, no heatstroke, just warmth, like usual.
I even put on a dress that covered a lot of skin, just in case.
Yeah, the one that goes with the umbrella.
It''s a black dress with a white frilly top underneath and touches of crimson, same as my eyes, on the hem of some layers. There are also several tiny little bows of the same colour hanging at the sleeves.
It''s really a good dress, and it''s really beautiful.
I sure look like that goth-girl that was in my class.
Well, she was cute, and her dresses were cool and beautiful.
So I guess it''s not a bad thing?
[...]
Now that I can see the countryside under the sunlight, I can see how beautiful it is.
Well, it''s not like it''s not beautiful under the moon. But it''s another kind of beauty. One is a calm and fresh beauty, like a landscape frozen in time, and the other is warm, full of light and life.
[...]
While walking, I notice some poppy-like flower, but twice as big. I want to take them and make a bouquet for ok¨¡-san, but I decide to take them on my way back, since they may be as delicate as the ones on Earth. I notice different kinds of flowers too, like thorn-less purple roses, crimson palm-sized dandelions, and lots of beautiful and strange looking flower.
I finally arrived down the hill, and choose to sit on a nearby meadow.
I take out a blanket out of my satchel, and put it on the ground.
Pique-nique time!
I prepared some sandwich back home, made with cheese, salad and smoked ham. I also took some apple-looking fruits and some grapes. Well, some fruits and vegetables sure looks like the ones back on Earth, but there is some discrepancies.
For example, apples don''t taste like lychees and pears aren''t poisonous on Earth.
Here? Yes.
Ufufu, it''s not my problem though! I hate pears! And I love lychees!
Itadakimasu!
[...]
Well, then, an hour passed. I finished eating a bit before, and decided to take a little nap here, but now I''m awake. I notice some rabbits a bit further away. They''re happily hopping through the grass, but something seems off about them... What could it be?
Ah yes, they''ve got a horn... They''re not rabbits, they''re Horned Rabbits: they''ve got a rhinoceros-like horn on their forehead. Well, I said they''re Horned Rabbits, but it''s not really the name of the species. They''re called ¡°Laprel¡±, but I prefer to say Horned Rabbits, since they''re rabbits with horn.
And, well, strangely, even if I say ¡°Horned Rabbits¡±, others hear ¡°Laprel¡±, and when they say ¡°Laprel¡±, I hear ¡°Horned Rabbits. I discovered that what I ear and what they say isn''t always the same when ot¨-san taught me different species name. It has to be written down if I want to know their true name.
Is it the effect of a Skill? It sure is amazing!
Well, since it doesn''t look like this horn is just for show, let''s leave them alone.
I quickly fold back the blanket and put it back in the satchel.
While walking, I collect some stamp-sized pebbles and the different flowers I noticed earlier.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.And as I was looking at the thorn-less rose, I noticed a big tree without any leaf.
Well, it stood out, because it''s the only tree like that.
As I was looking at it, I noticed a beautiful purple little flower near its roots. But as I was about to pull it off the ground¡
¡
Strange.
I fell¡ uneasy.
I don''t know why, but I feel like I shouldn''t do that. I''ve got a strange feeling in my stomach.
Well, this flower really is cute! It may be my imagination.
I should just take it.
But well, now I''m a girl, so maybe it''s the notorious Feminine Intuition?
Well, let''s trust it for today.
But can I at least take a flower?
It''s really cute, after all.
¡
I don''t feel any danger if I just try to cut the flower.
Then, let''s do it.

Whoa. I might have escaped imminent death. That was a close one.
Let''s ask ok¨¡-san about it once I''m back home.
But, really? A Trap?
Thus, I finished my stroll and picked-up the strange poppy flowers, and headed straight to the castle. I thinks I was away for a bit less than two hours, so I hope ok¨¡-san won''t be too worried...
I wasn''t far away anyway. I could have been back to the castle in one or two minutes if I were to run at full speed.
Well, as I was entering the castle, I began to hear a woman sobbing. Well, I say sobbing, but it was more screaming while weeping.
Huh? That''s ok¨¡-san voice, isn''t it? What happened? Is someone dead?
I follow the weeping howls back to the kitchen. I knock on the door, but nobody respond.
Since I have to hear what''s that all about, I decide to enter anyway.
The kitchen was in a sorry state. One of the chairs had been smashed to pieces, and someone seems to had a fist contest with a part of the wall.
And won.
What the¡?
That aside, ok¨¡-san is weeping on a chair, her beautiful face hidden in her hands.
Behind her, Julie was trying to comfort her. Well, it seems she wasn''t doing so well since she was weeping too.
¡°Julie, what happened? Why are you two crying? Did something bad happen?¡±(Abigaelle)
Ok¨¡-san doesn''t seem like she heard, but Julie silently turns her face toward me.
She''s in a sorry state. Her eyes, full of tears, seem hollow. But once she sees me, it looks like life begin to fill them back. She then tap ok¨¡-san on her shoulder.
Ok¨¡-san silently stared at Julie.
Just what on Earth happened for the both of them to look like that?
Now that ok¨¡-san is looking at Julie, the maid started to point her finger towards¡ Me?
Ok¨¡-san slowly turns her head, and then she stares at me.
She stands up. Her chair went crashing into the wall behind her.
She runs towards me. The table between us knows the same fate as the chair.
Huh?
Huuuuuuh?
Is she going to turn green or something?
Once she arrives in front of me, she abruptly stops. I was already seeing myself crashing into a wall ok¨¡-san!
You shouldn''t act so recklessly!
You can buy back tables and chairs, but it''s difficult with children!
As I was thinking that, her trembling hand starts to approach me. She touches my face, as if confirming that I''m really here, and then she starts to weep again, while stroking my hair.
¡°Y-you! *snif* Where were you! *snif* Leaving just like that! We thought you were kidnapped, or dead! Just where were you hiding? We searched everywhere!(ok¨¡-san)
Huh? Dead? Aren''t you exaggerating just a bit? I was just a minute away from here...
¡°I just wanted to have a stroll outside the castle for a bit to try out my umbrella, so I went outside. But don''t worry, I wasn''t very far away.¡±(Abigaelle)
Oh, the both of them just went stiff suddenly.
Did I say something wrong?
And Julie''s complexion just went paler than ok¨¡-san''s. How is that even possible?
¡°You, d-did you really go outside?¡±(Julie)
¡°Well, yes, I had to try my umbrella.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Um-bwu-la? What is that? And why did you go outside at this time? How?¡±(Julie)
¡°It''s umbrella, not um-bwu-la. Here, take a look, it''s that thing. I made it with the things I asked ok¨¡-san to buy. It''s made to repel the rain and can be used as a protection against the Sun too. I even gained a Title by making it, you know¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°A Title?!? Ah, but then again, how and why did you go outside?¡±(Julie)
¡°Well, I just wanted to see the Sun you know? I''m nearly two years old, and I''ve never been outside! So I just wanted to have a stroll. I picked some flowers for you ok¨¡-san too.¡±(Abigaelle)
While saying that, I give her the bouquet I still had in my hands and hand it to ok¨¡-san, who was still patting my head with a look telling me she thought she would never see me again...
When she understood that it was for her, she feverishly take them. She stares at them for a long minute, and then¡
¡°So, y-you really went outside?¡±(ok¨¡-san)
¡°Yeah! The weather was really good, and I even found lots of beautiful flowers for you, ok¨¡-san.
I''ve seen some Horned Rabbits too.
Ah, I also found this on the way back, but it seems a bit strange, what is it?¡±(Abigaelle)
While saying that, I took out the strange flower that gave me all those Skills. Maybe they will be able to tell me why?
But as I was showing them the flower.
*Thud*
¡
Oh.
Julie fainted.
Aby wearing that gothic dress she finds so cute ;)
(Yeah, I admit, it''s heavily inspired from Oreimo...
I don''t care, Kuroneko is my favourite character ever !)
Chapter 7: Im... not an albino in the end
Hi there. Abigaelle here!
I don''t really know if I can refer to myself as John Smith anymore now, you know? But I''m still a man inside, that wont change. I wonder if people in this world have a grudge against "girl''s love"? Because I''m definitely not into guys, so that would be a problem.
Well, anyway, I guess I''ll find that sooner or later.
So, then, Ghost-san, here''s what happened this year.
Yeah, I know, this hasn''t much chance to reach you. But since you''re the one who gave me this other life, that''s the least I can do.
And this report thingy is quite a ritual now.
Then, let me begin. I''ll start from when I crafted my umbrella. Did you saw it by the way? It''s really good. I wouldn''t even dream of using this kind of umbrella in my past life, but now that I''m a girl, I''m not bothered by that anymore. Maybe I somehow changed a bit? Well, that''s a plus. It would have been terrible if I couldn''t get over the fact that I''m a girl now.
So, yeah, umbrella. You may already know it, but I crafted it to protect me from the sun.
Because, you know, I really missed the Sun.
So I went outside to have a little "pique-nique".
But when I went back, ok¨¡-san and Sylvia were crying.
And Julie even fainted when I gave flowers to ok¨¡-san.
But, well, that was my fault. I knew from the Skills I gained while picking it that the plant could have been dangerous.
And I was right. It was a Mandrake flower.
And when I say Mandrake, I mean the real deal! The one that kills you if you plug it out of the ground!
I was really lucky!
It even cast a spell continuously that makes anyone near it try to take the flower.
It really was a trap then...
I was lucky to consider just taking the flower...
I don''t want to know why a flower would want to kill people.
I absolutely don''t wan''t to know what it''ll do with the bodies afterwards.
Well, when Julie fainted, ok¨¡-san transported her to the living room.
And then she told me about the Mandrake.
Apparently, some people Julie once knew died because of a Mandrake, and she was the one who find their bodies...
I''ll have to properly apologies to her when she wakes up...
¡°So that''s why you were so worried about me!
I understand now.
I didn''t know it was so dangerous outside.
But don''t worry ok¨¡-san, I won''t go outside anymore without you!¡± I said.
But, well.
She stared at me strangely.
Then, she told me.
¡°I can''t go outside¡±.
I asked her why, and she answered: ¡°I''d die if I do.¡±
''Hun? Die? Isn''t that a bit too much?''. That''s what I thought when she told me that, so I asked her: ¡°Huh, aren''t you over doing it a bit too much, ok¨¡-san? I know that people suffering from albinism don''t do well with the sun, but as long as we stay in the shade, wouldn''t it be fine?¡±
¡°Albinism? What is that?¡± was her answer.
I thought "Oh, yeah, it shouldn''t have any meaning in another world. And it wasn''t automatically translated like ¡°Laprel¡±. Maybe it doesn''t have a name here?"
I thus tried to play dumb since I couldn''t really tell her this word came from my past life... ¡°Well, albinism, you know? Isn''t that the name of the illness that gives us white hair and skin and those red eyes? I thought I read about it somewhere.¡±
I thought it would be fine with that.
But ok¨¡-san started to stare at me strangely, like I was some kind of alien who just appeared out of nowhere, claiming that ¡°I came in peace¡±.
And then, she laughed. A perfect, creepy, three-steps laughter.
Simply breathtaking.
But she seemed crazy too.
I wondered for a moment if her mind was broken.
But...
Why was she laughing?
Well, it''s simple.
It''s because, I was mistaken about our condition. And not just a bit.
I was gre~eatly mistaken.
We weren''t albinos.
At all.
It was far worse.
Well, I say worse, but it''s not like it''s horrible. It''s just that the sunlight is deadly for us.
Literally.
But I''m kind of not concerned by that trait it seems.
I mean, I''m obviously not dead right now.
Well, what am I then?
...
...
...
A vampire.
...
I''m a bloody vampire!
Well, at least I don''t friggin'' sparkle!
It seems that this sort of knowledge is something that should be instinctive, and I should have known about me being a vampire and our race''s weaknesses from birth.
A bit like there was no need to tell me I was a human in my past life...
Sorry, I didn''t know, ok¨¡-san.
I mean, I''m supposed to be human. I don''t think this was supposed to be my body.
I wonder what happened to the original owner...
I hope she''s okay.
I really hope she''s okay.
...
When ok¨¡-san understood I didn''t knew anything at all, she started to teach me about our weaknesses immediately.
Well, I say "immediately", but I had her to calm down before.
Soooooo.
Vampire''s weaknesses.
The first and most deadly one is sun light.
Of course.
I asked her what it exactly does to us, and it seems that we don''t turn to dust, but our skin starts to bubble and we somehow start to melt.
...
What''s with that gruesome way of dying!
Give me back my ¡°turn to ashes¡± death!
I don''t wanna turn into a dead slime, dammit!
I''ll even accept to sparkle if I have to!
The last part is obviously a joke, of course.
But, again, it doesn''t seem to be effective against me.
I mean, it''s obvious I''m not a puddle right now.
But that''s dangerous. I seriously could have died.
I was suppose to know about it, and fear light, like animals are instinctively afraid of fire.
But I''m not.
Well, it''s because I was human.
But why did I survive?
Am I UV-proof?
By the way, ot¨-san seems to have a Spell that protects him against the Sun, but ok¨¡-san doesn''t.
Sorry ok¨¡-san, but I don''t think I''ll take you to a picnic under the sun then.
Until I find a way to protect you against it, that is.
Then, second weakness is silver and garlic. I''m putting them together because we''re allergic to both of them. Being cut by silver makes us sick for a whole day. Not a pretty sight. Garlic gives us teary eyes and a runny nose. Eating it makes us sick too.
We''re also instinctively afraid of both of them.
Well, normally.
But, even if I''m not afraid of garlic, I won''t approach it anyway...
Third and last weakness, well, if you can really call that a weakness, is that we''re really uneasy towards moving water. It''s the same as cat''s, if I was to compare. But we''re fine with hot bath.
Well, that''s obvious. I took a lot of them with ok¨¡-san.
And yes, it''s perfectly fine to take a bath with your mother!
Of course I didn''t have any of those thoughts!
She''s my mother after all!
Ah, we''re okay with religious-symbol. It seems Vampires aren''t Undeads, unlike in the stories I read back on Earth. Undead Vampires do exist, but it''s just a vampire corpse revived by a necromancer, and it''s considered a monster, not a living being, since it doesn''t have a soul nor personality anymore.
Well, if Vampires find an Undead one, they''ll put it to rest.
The necromancer too, of course.
We don''t like guys who defile our dead.
I guess nobody really does.
I suppose stakes in the heart and beheading works fine against Vampires too, but, well, so does it against humans.
And we do have a reflection in mirrors. We just haven''t any because they are made from silver¡
And it can also be used by someone to spy on you with magic, so...
Well, you can make them from other metals than silver too, but it''s just not produced this way here.
In fact, it looks like mirrors are only produced by the Sacro Imperio. And they don''t like Vampires very much, so I guess they''re only making silver mirrors on purpose...
I''ll have to make one for myself if I want one then.
Well, that''s all for the weaknesses. So let''s talk about the benefits of being a vampire now!
First and foremost: Our Lifespan. An average vampire can live up to a thousand years. It leaves lots of free time to study magic and other stuff. But, well, is a long life span really that great? I guess it can''t be that good to see all your non-Vampires friends die from old age...
Even the optimistic I can''t overlook that...
We''re very sturdy against Darkness-type Spells.
Those types of Spells are up to three times weaker than usual against us.
A Darkness Spell used by a Vampire will also be stronger than the exact same spell used by a Human.
And we''re several times stronger during nigh-time.
Well, it can also be said that we''re several times weaker during daytime, but I''m the type of person to regard a glass as half full rather than half empty.
And again, I''m not concerned.
We can use blood to replenish our Mana Pool.
Some Spells that only Vampires and their subspecies can have are linked to this ability.
I don''t really like the idea to drink blood... I mean, I already bit my tongue several times as a human, and blood didn''t really have a good taste...
Oh! And because of a pact among Vampires, one can only bite willing beings, or else this person would acquire the [Predator] Title, and thus be hunted down by every vampire one would come across during its life.
And by other species too, obviously.
In fact, ¡°Stealing a bite¡± is considered as rape.
It seems it''s pretty easy to see if a Vampire has the Title... I wonder how it works?
Oh! By the way, biting people doesn''t turn them into Vampires, since we are a proper species and not just cursed human beings like in some films I saw.
Vampirism isn''t a virus too. So, no transmissions.
In fact, Vampires are a race that originate from humans. Over time, Humans affected by huge quantities of a certain type of Mana, the Dark Mana, began to turn after several generations into Vampires. That''s why, Humans and Vampires can have offspring.
So, if a mad scientist were to fill a Human''s Soul to the brim with Dark Mana, I guess he, or she, could turn into a Vampire.
I hope I''m the only one who thought about that...
We''ve also got really good health-recovery abilities.
It''s really hard for us to get ill, and injuries are recovered quickly.
Well, it''s not on the level of recovering missing limbs, of course.
But this ability is jammed by eating garlic or being hurt by silver.
There are also some abilities that let us sense approaching danger or detect living beings. Well, I already know that I have some of the former type.
Ufufu.
Some Vampires have the ability to shapeshift. As the name implies, it lets a Vampire turn into something else.
For example, a bat.
Why does it have to be bats? Why not birds! Ugh!
But well, only Pure Blood Vampires are concerned, and since my eyes are red and not black, I''m not concerned apparently...
Specs-wise, the average Vampire is as strong as a human soldier and four to five times more nimble than the average Human, but, at daytime, we''re barely at the same level.
Even though it doesn''t seem to be the case for me.
Again.
Why am I immune to light and daytime, when no Vampire is? Or ever was?
I''ll just have to wait for my Status...
Ah! Even if we can live from seven hundreds to a thousand years old, we can only have from one to three children.
Not like the last part concerns me.
But that would mean there shouldn''t be a lot of Vampires. At least, far less than humans.
I mean, it wasn''t strange to find seven children in a family in European Middle Age.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Magic-wise, we''re nearly the same as Humans, as some may be born with or without a lot of Mana, but whereas Humans have an inclination for Light-based Spells, Vampires have a preference for Darkness-based ones.
And since we have a far longer lifespan, old vampires tends to be extremely more powerful with age.
Oh, and Vampires are able to use magic when they turn three years old, when their fangs grow, whereas humans have to wait until they turn eight-ish.
Well, lots of pros and lots of cons. I''d say it''s pretty well balanced, but I may be wrong. And ok¨¡-san told me that she may have forgotten some things, so there may be some surprise at some points.
Ok¨¡-san waited until ot¨-san came back from work, and explained him everything.
He may have forgotten to breath at some point of the explanation, because he began to turn blue.
I got scolded a lot, even though it wasn''t my fault for not knowing, but since they looked so worried, I couldn''t say anything.
I was also forbidden to go under the sunlight until we could explain why I didn''t die, because it may have some side-effects, or it may only be a temporary protection.
I really don''t want to turn into a puddle of flesh and bones, so I think I''ll stick to that decision.
And I''m not sure about it, but I think Julie was somehow tasked to stalk me...
Well, even though it worried my parents and the maids a lot, life continued nearly as usual.
I didn''t went outside. I really don''t want to be a puddle.
I may even reincarnate as a slime for all I know!
Well, ot¨-san began to teach me more about the country we reside in, and global informations about this world.
Firstly, there is three continents in this world. The one where we live is the main one, it is called Northern Continent and is separated in four parts: the eastern part, called Pandora, mainly inhabited by Eastern Dragons and monsters; the northern part, called the Frozen Lands and ruled by the Yuki-onna, the Snow Women; the southern part, which isn''t really considered a part of this continent, but I''ll explain why later; and finally, the western part, Bakushinchi, where I actually am.
The main characteristic of this part of the continent is that it''s the only one populated by humans.
It seems they all emigrated here, the event that took place eight centuries ago in this part of the continent having threatened their very existence everywhere else due to being in inferior numbers compared to monsters and other species.
This event is the one who gave it its actual name: if I understood the meaning of the word, Bakushinchi would mean something like ¡°Ground Zero¡±, so I guess it goes well with it.
The second continent is the Demon Continent, and is entirely inhabited by smurfs¡ Of course it isn''t.
It''s inhabited by the Demon race.
Well, even though they''re called Demons, it''s just a name.
It seems that they''re mainly a pacific race, and are in rather friendly terms with the countries of the Northern Continent.
Even though, the majority of them are red, they''ve got horns, and are proficient in both magic and physical power.
That''s Demons for you.
But don''t confuse them with the ¡°less friendly¡± Devil race! Because, even if they looks like each other, and have common origins, they''re NOT the same. But well, let''s keep that for later.
For the main part, this continent is covered by desert and dry lands and has a very hot climate. There are also some jungles with ferocious monsters, volcanoes, sandstorms, droughts, monsoons, and earthquakes.
So, yeah, you can say it''s a rather inhospitable land.
The southern part of the Northern Continent is considered a part of it for two reasons: even though it is physically a part of the Northern Continent and is only connected to the Demon Continent by a tiny strand of land, its climate and its lands looks the same, and it''s also mainly inhabited by Demons, thus it is considered a part of the Demon Continent.
Finally, the third continent is called the Lost Continent, because all contact with it was lost eight centuries ago, and nobody has ever been able to go there and come back, alive or not. So we nearly know nothing about it.
Now that I explained roughly, let me go into the detailed part.
The country I actually live in is called Taovania, which is the name of its first ruler since ¡°The Event¡±. The guy must have that big of an ego, is what I thought, but it seems it was named after his death.
They just had my naming sense.
So, where was I?
Oh, yeah, Taovania.
So, Taovania is located on the western part of the Bakushinchi continent. It doesn''t have an official ruling race, and instead has a ¡°Wizard Council¡±. This council is made of twelve people from each main race of the country: Humans, Therianthropes, Beastmen, Vampires, Dhampirs, Reptilians, Lamias, Ondines, Faes, Alraunes and Ents. The twelfth member is generally a human, and represents the people who don''t have enough Mana to use it.
Each races has it''s own method to elect its councillor, but the only restriction is that they mustn¡¯t be muscle-heads.
It is not said in such an oblivious manner, of course.
Different tasks are divided between those councillors, and even if it isn''t a fixed fact, some races usually take care of the same duty along the centuries: Alraunes'' and Ents'' councillors take care of the agriculture''s, the forest''s and the nature''s well being, Ondines'' of the rivers, Vampires'' and Dhampirs'' of the nobles'' matters, and Beastmen''s and Therianthropes'' of the internal security, soldiers management and war preparation.
I am agreeably surprised by how this country is ruled, because something like this would never work back in my old world.
And it does here.
In the worst case, the majority would just go and kill everyone else...
Well, it''s not like they haven''t their bunch of corrupted politicians though...
And by the way, ot¨-san told me that he''s working for the Vampire Councillor, and that''s why he has to work even during daytime.
It''s not like he''s under his direct command, but he works in his team.
Well, I''ve talked about the ¡°government¡±, so now let''s talk about our surroundings.
South of Taovania is Hach¨±rudia, ruled by the Reptilian Alliance.
Those two countries are separated by a mountain range inhabited by the Hammerfall''s Dwarven Clan, and was thus named Hammerfall Moutain Range
North-East and separated by sea is the Fae Kingdom. The one with the non-edible Brownies.
At north, separated by the artificially-made Ondine''s territory, the Great Rhur River, is the Sacro Imperio ex Lumen Aeternum, ruled by the Church of the Light, and nearly exclusively populated by humans.
And, finally, separated by the Dragon Ridge Mountain Range, Frubedor, a giant forest ruled by the Alraune''s Queen and inhabited by nearly every sentient plant-based species and the Forest Elves.
Well, Ghost-san, that''s about all I''ve learned up until now. Of course, it''s only a r¨¦sum¨¦, and since I''m near my third birthday, I''ll may be able to talk about magic soon!
I wonder were you went Ghost-san!
I really would like to thank you for this life you gave me.
¡°Abigaelle! Rest time is over, come here please.¡±(ot¨-san)
Aaah, time''s up, I have to go back to my lessons now.
See you next time.
Well, figuratively speaking.
¡°Comming!¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Here you are! Please, Abigaelle, don''t make me search for you when it''s time to start your history lessons.¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°Sorry ot¨-san, I just had to finish something.
So, what are we going to see today?(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, today''s lesson is going to be special.¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°Special? What do you mean?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°I mean that I was finally able to get my hands on a map, and a precise one at that! Working for the Council gives some privileges, and since I told them it was for my daughter''s education, they lent me one without any sensitive information, such as strongholds, strategic positions,¡ So today, we are going to study it, and even though at your age, it should be very hard to learn something like that, I''m quite confident that it doesn''t apply to you.¡±(ot¨-san)
This again? Will common sense ever apply to me someday?
¡°I''ll do my best ot¨-san! I can''t wait to see it!¡±(Abigaelle)
Well, that''s the truth, I really shouldn''t be able to understand it at my age. And even though I think my mind somehow rejuvenated a bit with my reincarnation, that''s what I think at least, I should be able to understand it.
I sat on the chair next to my desk, and I watch ot¨-san searching for the map in a bag full of rolled scrolls.
¡°And what are we going to see today?(Abigaelle)
¡°Oh yeah, I didn''t tell you. Today, I am going to teach you about the Vampiri Regate, the Vampires'' Land.¡±
¡°Oh, yeah, you told me a bit about it¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Well, not really, I don''t think I told you anything except that it''s right next to the Sacro Imperio''s lands, and that they have been at war for a century. Is that right?¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°Yes, and even though they are at peace now, both of them only wait for a reason to start a new one, because the Church of Light hates Vampires, and the Vampires hates them too.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°You remember well I see! Well, even though we are Vampires, should a war break out, since Taovania is a powerful country allied with both the Dragons and the Ondines, we should somehow be safe, so don''t worry.¡±
¡°I wouldn''t until you told me to, ot¨-san.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Ah, here it is!¡± (ot¨-san)
Finally finding the map, ot¨-san comes next to me, and starts to open it.
¡°Well, firstly, did I ever told you the name of the Vampiri Regate''s leader?¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°No, I believe you didn''t.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Ah, my bad then. Well, it is a name you will have to remember, because it is someone very important for us, Vampires. He is a very powerful Vampire, and the oldest among us. He will be a thousand years old around the time you will turn sixteen, and even though it is the very limit for a normal vampire, it is said he should be able to live at least a thousand more years. He has reigned over his lands for the past eight centuries too!¡±(ot¨-san)
A thousand year old? And he can live a thousand more? That is a monster! I don''t even want to think how powerful he must be!
And an eight centuries-long reign! Forget powerful, he must also be a master at politics, and a good leader! Because, no matter how powerful, there is no way a bad or cruel leader could reign for this long, right?
And that means he was there before "The Event", right?
And, as ot¨-san was spreading the map on the desk¡
¡°So, remember well his name, my dear, for he is our Lord, even in this far away land, and the strongest Vampire in the world: Vlad Tepes Dracula...¡±(ot¨-san)
Chapter 8: Im… confused. Kami-sama, stop messing with me!
[¡]
¡°So, remember well his name, my dear, for he is our Lord, even in this far away land, and the strongest vampire in the world: Vlad Tepes Dracula...¡±(ot¨-san)
Huh?
¡
¡ ¡
Huh?
¡ ¡ ¡
¡ ¡ ¡ ¡
Wait. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
What did he just said, right now?
I misheard, right?
There''s no way that a coincidence like that is possible!
No way!
Impossible!
Vlad Dracula is a person from Earth! He died six hundred years ago!
And he wasn''t a vampire!
He was definitely human!
What the Hell is this all about!
¡
But as I was thinking that, I saw the map that was now on the desk.
¡
¡°Fufufu.
Fuhahahaha.
Fuahahahahaha!¡±(Abigaelle)
That''s it. I''ve lost it. I''ve completely lost it.
I can''t stop laughing, but THAT is not funny at all!
I begin to think there''s someone up there toying with me!
Kami-sama, please, pretty please, stop messing with my mental health!
I didn''t say anything when I was reincarnated.
I didn''t say anything when I learned that I was a girl, and not a boy.
I didn''t say anything when I learned there was magic, dragons and such things in this world.
And once again, I didn''t say anything when I learned that I was a vampire, and I didn''t say anything about the possibility of me turning into a bloody puddle if I were to stay under sun light to much.
But that!
THAT!
THAT is not acceptable!
I refuse!
I refuse to acknowledge THAT!
There is no way I could!
So, I ask you, Kami-sama.
Why?
Why do I already know this map?
WHY IS THIS A MAP OF EUROPE!?!
I want to know now! Is it fun? Is it fun to see how this pitiful ant react?
I hate you, you hear me? I! HATE! YOU!
¡°Abigaelle, what is it? Is there a problem? Are you okay?
Sylvia, could you come here? I think there is something wrong with Abigaelle!¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°Ufufufu. Ahaha. Aha. Aaaah. It''s *pant* It''s okay *pant* Let me just *pant* catch my breath, please. *pant* I''ll explain myself.¡±(Abigaelle)
Crap, I forgot I wasn''t alone. Ot¨-san must think I''m crazy now.
Well, while I''m catching my breath, let''s think of an excuse.
Think. Thinkthinkthink.
Oh! I''ve got one!
¡°Aaah, sorry ot¨-san, I didn''t want to worry you. It''s just that, you see, even though you worked so hard to find this map for me, the truth is, I sometimes have a dream about someone who looks like a powerful man, maybe a king. And in this dream, he is looking at a map that looks nearly like this one.
So I''m sorry ot¨-san, it''s just that I was so sorry to have you look so hard for a map, and all that for nothing, that it made me laugh nervously.¡±(Abigaelle)
Did it work? I hope it didn''t show on my face that I was lying.

And what is that? I already had [Deceive(Lv2)]?
I don''t like the name.
But, well, I had to lie a lot to cover the fact that I am a reincarnated person.
And it''s not wrong to have this skill: everybody lies. Just ask the doctor. Naaah, not this one!
Huh, you get it? Did you get?
¡
I really might have lost it.
I''m talking to myself now.
Nobody can listen to my thought!
I hope...
And even if someone could, they couldn''t understand this pun, they''re not from Ea¡
Aha.
No, they are.
Ara, just, stay calm. Don''t start to laugh again. That would be bad.

But, suddenly, the door burst open, letting in two worried-looking maids.
¡°What happened Lucius-sama?¡±(Sylvia)
¡°Abigaelle-sama? Are you okay?¡±(Julie)
¡°Yes, it''s okay, I am sorry, I might have overreacted a bit.¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°There is no need to apologise, Lucius-sama¡±(Sylvia)
¡°It is as Sylvia-san said, Lucius-sama. There is absolutely no problem. It is only our duty after all.¡±(Julie)
¡°But, if I may ask, could Lucius-sama inform us about what happened to Abigaelle-sama? I can''t say I''m not worried now...¡±(Sylvia)
And then ot¨-san began to explain what just happened and what I just told him. The two maids looked really surprised, but I guess it''s the normal reaction.
¡°So, that''s how it is, Sylvia and Julie onee-san, I was just really surprised and shocked to see that I already knew that map, and when I understood that I made ot¨-san look for it for nothing, it made me so nervous and ashamed that I started to laugh nervously.¡±(Abigaelle)

¡°Of course, Sylvia onee-san, Julie onee-san, I''m really sorry that I scared you that much.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Do not worry about it, Abigaelle-sama. But was it true? That you already saw that map in your dream?¡±(Julie)

I''m... not gonna say anything. I deserved it.
Ah! They may think that I already memorized it! Even though it''s a map of Europe, the countries are totally different!
¡°Well, the geography was nearly the same, but the countries were not like that at all. There was a small river here, for example.¡±(Abigaelle)
I said as I point out the Rh?ne, a river separating France and Germany, that was now a huge lake measuring 500km long and 50km wide.
Well, you can even say it''s a part of the sea now.
That''s a huge change.
Germany and France, well, I mean the Sacro Imperio and Taovina, as written on the map, are now separated by that huge lake.
If I remember well what ot¨-san said, that must be the Great Rhur River, the Ondine''s territory. Now that I think about it, ¡°Rhur¡± was the name of that area in German.
The Ondine must have worked really hard to turn it into that huge lake.
Well, no, it''s still called a river, not a lake.
¡°A small river? That should mean the map you saw in your dream was at least six hundred years old! Do you remember anything else? Another continent for example?¡±(ot¨-san)
Ot¨-san looks very exited for some reason.
Another continent?
Ara?
¡
Ooooh!
I get it! He wants to know if I saw the Lost Continent.
And that would mean the Lost Continent is in fact America!
Ah, but then, what about Australia? I never heard about something in that direction.
That would mean they have another lost continent that they don''t even now about.
But then, should I tell them about it?
No!
Of course not!
Even though I don''t know what ot¨-san would do with this information, if I tell anyone where it is, someone''s gonna try to conquer it, and I absolutely don''t want to be responsible for another Conquista.
I already know what they did last time they went in America, and if there is even a small chance that there are still Mayans, Incas, Aztecs or Native Americans over there, I don''t want to be responsible for their death.
So...
¡°Ah, no, I''m sorry, there wasn''t anything else.¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°No, don''t apology Abigaelle, it''s not your fault, it''s only a dream after all.
Well, I say dream, but it may be a memory from one of our ancestor...¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°You mean, like the fact that I should have known that I was a vampire?¡±(Abigaelle)
¡°Yes, that''s a good example. Something like that.¡±(ot¨-san)
¡°I see. But I''m sorry ot¨-san, I don''t really know...¡±(Abigaelle)
In fact, I know, because it''s not a dream, so it''s not a memory from one of my ancestor either.
Sorry for lying ot¨-san.
But I wonder how memories are passed down, from parents to children?
Is it because of genetic memories? I know it exists, since it was proved by searchers a year or two before I died, but it wasn''t on that scale...
Magic then? It looks more probable...
And with that, you all in America owe me one!
Just kiddin''. I won''t even need a favor, because I don''t plan to go there.
But that should make enough brownie points to buy myself a ticket to Heaven, right?
Well, I don''t believe in heaven though.
But, if there is someone up there, I ask of you, at least, stop messing with me.
Please.
But, once the commotion ended and the maids went back to do what they were doing, we began to really study the map.
To put it simply: Taovania has approximately the same borders as France, the Fae Kingdom is Great Britain, Hach¨±rudia is Spain plus Portugal, the Dragon Ridge Mountain Range is better known as the Alps, Frubedor is Italia, without the Alps, of course, the Sacro Imperio is roughly the same as the old Holy Roman Empire and the Vampiri Regate is East Europe.
Greece is separated in three territory: the South is the Harpy''s territory, the Balkans are populated by Giants and Cyclops, and the rest is called Centaury Fields.
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
The Frozen Lands are, naturally, Russia, Pandora is Asia, and the Demon Continent is Africa and Middle East.
Well, roughly.
Wait, then, the massive immigration caused by ¡°The Event¡± from the East... They were Asians! That''s why there''s a bit of Japanese in this language then!
But I wonder why there isn''t any Chinese or other language too... Is there a reason?
[...]
And, as we were talking about the Vampiri Regate, something struck me.
Vlad Tepes, in my world, is born in 143X-ish.
I know, ''cause I love history.
And when you love history, there''s some people you can''t miss.
Like Vlad III Basarab Draculea, aka Vlad Tepes.
So, he''s born in 143X-ish, and is dead in 147X-ish.
But, well, if he was really a Vampire, with magic power, I guess death is something you can fake easily.
So, yeah, let''s say he didn''t die.
So, if I remember correctly, the ritual that wiped-out every non-magical beings, ¡°The Event¡±, took place two centuries after Vlad''s birth.
That makes it somewhere in the 17th century.
Before that ritual, they hunted magical beings. Even humans. Lots of them.
When you say humans with magical power, you think of course of wizards and witches.
So they hunted wizard and witches, along with other magical beings, to sacrifice them.
And, what took place on Earth, exactly at the same time?
¡
¡
The European Witch Hunt...
¡
And well, I have to say that magic doesn''t exist nowadays.
Soo...
That''s only an idea. A very strange idea.
But to consider it, you have to believe in parallel universes.
And watch a certain british Tv programm.
Well, in my case, it''s not really a problem, since I''m in one of those parallel universe right now.
And I loved this series.
So yeah.
What I learned here is that every non-magical beings were wiped out eight centuries ago.
But, what if?
What if they weren''t?
What if the ritual had in fact succeeded?
I mean, I think it did.
I think it didn''t wipe out the non-magical being, but instead separated magical and non-magical beings in two distinct universes.
With a HUGE Sealing Spell, maybe?
Separating one world into two.
One where I was born as a man, where magic doesn''t exist anymore, and this one, where magic is everywhere and inside every living thing.
I don''t have any proof, but it would explain lots of things that I couldn''t explain before.
Like, why did Taovania''s language was a mix between French, English and Japanese.
It would explain why we had legends about dragons and the such in my old world.
It would explain why the Sun and the Moon looked exactly like the ones back on Earth. Even though I didn''t notice it until now...
And it would explain Vlad Tepes existence.
I mean, if those two world were, despite being Earth, completely unrelated, then, what is the chance for two very well known people having the same name? And Vlad is the most famous vampire in my old world, even if it is fictional. And he is the most famous vampire here.
What are the odds for it to be a complete coincidence?
After all, just the fact that a caveman chose to hunt a deer instead of a rabbit back in Stone-Age could change all the following events and History itself.
Like, let''s say that caveman got killed by an animal while hunting that deer instead of a rabbit. And let''s say he was the great-great-great-great-great... grandfather of Winston Churchill...
See what I mean?
That''s why, I think there is as much chance of me dying of a sneeze right now than there is for it to be a complete coincidence.
¡
Figures.
Ugh... Maybe I just watched to much TV?
Is this something realist, or did I just watch too much of this show talking about a madman and his blue box?
But, I don''t know why, I don''t think I''m wrong. I feel that it''s exactly what happened.
Otherwise, that would be one of a heck coincidence.
And I don''t believe in coincidences.
Not on that scale at least.

Unique Spell: [Atom Manipulation (Lv1)] was unlocked. |
Oy! What is that!
There is so much stuff I can''t even read half of it!
But from all those Titles, I think I may be right concerning this world''s origin.
I mean, you know... [Lost Truth Holder] and [Ancient Mystery Solver] are what I would call proofs of me being right.
Wait.
¡°Atom Manipulation¡±?
Really?
How?
Why?
How?
Isn''t that a cheat?
Can I change lead in gold with that?
Ugh. I won''t know until I''m at least three!
Well, even though it was quite disturbing for me, ot¨-san was still teaching me about the Vampiri Regate, so I can''t really worry about that now. Let''s just focus on this, and think about what just happened later.
And so I did.
I then learned that Vlad was a really great ruler, but he has a really bad relationship with the Church of Light, both parties hating each other, leading in skirmishes and even wars between the Vampiri Regate and the Sacro Imperio.
Well, I say they hate each other, but basically, they just want the lands. Religion is nothing but an excuse.
And even though it''s called the Vampiri Regate, it''s mainly populated by humans. I was really shocked by that, but it seems they were people who originally migrated because they were followers of a ¡°God of Darkness¡±, and since Vampires are basically Darkness-based beings, they worshiped them, and the Religion started to spread in the Vampiri Regate.
Since they were a lot from the beginning, and that humans tends to have many children, they soon outnumbered the Vampires, but they still worshiped them, and Vampires kept ruling the country. Well, both party seem to be pretty happy about the current situation. Humans grow crops and run the economy, while the Vampires deal with politics, administration, education, and protection.
That, of course, is a very rough sketch.
The Humans work and the Vampires protect them.
That makes Vampires sounds like the Mafia!
Should I say Don Tepes from now on?
Well, jokes aside, lesson''s finished, and it''s time to sleep now.
While in my bed, I decided that even if I am right about this world origin, I should just keep quiet about it.
I mean, I don''t want to alienate every religious organisation in this world. I don''t want to end my life under house arrest like Galileo.
Wait, do they even know about Heliocentrism?
Ugh. That could be bad. I should refrain telling stuff like ¡°Earth goes around the Sun, not the other way around, you moron¡± until I figured that out.
I''m saying that because I had to say it sometimes back on my old world.
At least, they should know Earth isn''t flat...
I hope.
Ugh. Old world, current world, it''s an annoying thing to say. Let''s say Earth ¦Á for my past world, and Earth ¦Â for this one.
Aaah, I''m getting tired of thinking.
Well, I''m really tired.
And sleepy.
Let''s just sleep.
Think... later.
