《New Realm》 Prologue & Chapter 1 Prologue --------------------------------- For the past 30 years there has been mass disappearances on Earth. Coincidentally, they all happened every 3 years, which is exactly 10 times for the past 30 years. If it was a normal case of kidnapping or even abduction, even if it was enmasse, it wouldnt have been so strange, but the weird thing is, the people started to fade into a small shiny globe made of energy which shot into the skies. It would be easy to call it a scam or fake, but no one thought so after a government official disappeared the same way while being interviewed. Every time it happened, it would be the same, a few milion people disappearing. For the past 30 years, the Earth has fallen into chaos. Nobody knows when they will be next, nobody knows what will happen after they are gone and the unknown has always been the biggest fear of humanity. Crime rates have risen, vandalism, rape...the whole world is shocked, confused and has long since started falling in ruins. ------------- On a small island, a young lad was holding a sword, not a wooden sword as some people might expect, but a real, very sharp sword in the form of a katana. The lad looked at most 12 years old. His face red as a tomato ,altough immature, if he was to be placed in a circle of kids of the same age, he would definetely stand out. His small hands were full of blisters, repeating the same swordplay without end under the watch of the elder. The boys eyes were resolute and ferocious, like a tiger that got it''s food stolen right underneath it''s nose. It seemed like the sun and the pain from his hands did not affect him at all, actually, it made his heart burn like a fiery ocean of fire, ready to fight the whole world. 997! 998! 999! 1000! After the boy reached his 1000th swing, the sword fell down from his hands before burying itself in the ground, while the boy was gasping for air as if he had been submerged underwater for a very long time. "Lan!" The elders rough voice could be heard, using a very harsh tone to get the boys attention "Your parents have disappeared 6 years ago! Ever since then, everyday, you are in this forgotten island, in seclusion, training and training and training. Do you hate me?!?" Said the elder looking at the boys face The boy, without the slightest hesitation, replied in a cold tone that would never match a 12 year old kid. "Yes! I hate you! I want back home, with my friends!! I don''t want to train like this, i want none of this! I just want to be normal, i only want to see my parents.. why can''t i meet my mother?! my father!! Grandpa, please, let me meet them! I know they are not dead...they can''t be! If you want me to go to that New Realm place you always tell me about, i will go, but please..let me meet them once more! Please, grandpa!" "Lan, i have already told you, your parents are gone. I am the only family you have left, for now. Once i am gone, you will be all alone. You will soon be summoned to the New Realm, never forget what i taught you! You mustn''t die early ,like your parents! Never understimate anyone!" Sadly, the boys face has already been stained by tears, sobbing loudly. The fact that his parents are gone and the harsh training he has suffered for the past 6 years would be enough to drive a mature adult crazy, especially a young kid. *Sigh* the elder sighed softly before pointing his finger at Lan, who immediatly fell on the floor, unconscious as if he has been given a shock. Steangely , the elders expression did not change at all, as if he was not moved at all by the boys words or the fact that he fainted. He looked at the sky, as if remniscing the old days like an old man and sighed. Pulling out a platinum card out of his pocket, he pointed it at the little boy and the card started to shine in a rainbow like color before burying itself on his body. A small pop could be heard and a blue panel appeared in front of the elders face.
"The Legacy Class "Valiant Knight" has been succesfully transferred. Because you are not in the New Realm,we cannot use skill points. In accordance with the rules, we shall use your lifeforce as payment.
Bippp- Payment complete. Since the card''s requirments are higher than the useable lifeforce you have left, your life force will be slowly extinguished. You are given 1 minute to live before your soul will enter the cycle of reincarnation.
Bipp-59,58,57..
A small sigh could be heard from the elder followed by his soft voice filled with sorrow yet peace at the same time.. "Oh Lan...your parents are already gone..those old fools..sigh, i hope you will do better up there like i taught you so far...if you are a little bit soft...you will die...like your parents. Don''t disappoint me...its time to join those old fools in the underworld.. i hope this platinum card can help you, this is the last gift that i can give you before i am gone" - the voice faded slowly, before only an echo could be heard. The elder''s body started to blur into transparency and slowly disappearing into nothingness. --------------- On the floor where Lan was sitting unconscious, a small stream of tears apeared on his eyes... before a robotic voice could be heard and a blue panel appeared in front of him.

Lan''s body started to fade before only a small ball of light was left in it''s place which immediatly shot into the skies. If one looked at the current situation on Earth from space, they would see that everywhere on Earth, small balls of lights were flickering through the skies before leaving the atmoshpere and going into the void, turning the darkness into a small path of light, heading into the unknown. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 ------------------- In a very strange forest where towering trees that would need at least five persons to form a circle to barely hold it and the tree crowns rising to the skies, a carriage was slowly making its way toward the inner parts of the forest following a man made route as if it has been used a lot of times in the past. The carriage followed the route as they moved at a slow pace. Beside the carriage was a small group of people in strange looking clothes that didn''t match the current Era of Earth at all. Almost everyone of them were wearing leather ragged clothes, except for one person, whom wore a crimson red leather costume as if it had been washed by blood. The group of people were snickering and drinking booze while laughing very loudly taking glances at the back of the carriage where 4 horses were pulling a slightly bigger jailed carriage, as if it was an enormous cage. Shockingly, in the cage, were people! People wearing Earthly clothes. Some of them were beaten, while others had minor bruises around their bodies. Some of the women inside, who have always been treated like princesses without ever getting a slap and ever fearing the unknown, were sobbing silently, trying not to piss off the bandits which would result in even more beatings. In a corner of the carriage, a small boy stood, hugging his knees and looking at the floor while deep in thought, as if he was unconcerned about the current situation. This boy was Lan. After he fainted last night from exhaustion after the training with his grandpa, he woke up on the cold ground of a forest. Not even a while after he woke up, three men wielding swords came to him speaking in an unknown language. At first, Lan did not understand a word they said, but after a few seconds, the strange language became familiar to him, as if he understood it from instinct and he could speak it like a new baby who got the hang of a language for the first time. In contrary to other people getting scared and pissing themselves when they meet someone with a sword in their hands, Lan looked at them as if they were retards. It was not that Lan was afraid to fight against the three of them, but first, he has to assess the situation before making a move, so he took a defensive stance to see what they plan to do. Since they didn''t attack, he followed them to the carriage where he was pushed inside with a lot of other people. The carriage was narrow, making the odor of sweat unbearable. Around 15 people were sitting on the rotten wooden floor confused and fearful of the future events they are gonna have to go through in this unknown place. Some of them have already realized that this is no longer Earth, their homeland, and this is an unknown world. Some of the poor women have already formed black circles around their eyes from crying while another woman was hugging her crushed leg, trying to keep her misery inside. Only an inhuman beast could have done such a thing to a poor woman, but sadly, what''s good about human nature in a world where the strongest fist rules..? In the front of the carriage, a middle aged men of about forty years old, with bulging muscles and an ugly face that resembles a person to be destined to be forever alone, spoke in a very humble tone to the crimson clothed person "Leader, there are 9 women, 5 men and 1 kid. Our boys have been working hard for the past days, let them have their way with the women before we sell them off at the slave market." The crimson leathered person gave a cold look to the person before replying in a frosty tone which indicated that he''s not pleased with the man''s suggestion. "Vice leader! How many times has it happened so far where you abused some of them to death before we even managed to sell them off?" "Ke ke ke leader, don''t worry, this time we''ll be a little more careful not to damage our goods." "Hmph, as if i would believe rotten shits like you! Go and have fun, but know your places! We need the money to improve our items and skills, you don''t want to be stuck in this god damned forest lurking around small towns forever, would you? Be careful, those damned beastman are always eyeing us, if we are not careful, we might lose everything before we reach our destination!" If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Turning around, the vice leader looked at two of his subordinates before sending them to scout around. A rotten grin formed on his ugly face which made him look like crying before saying "Let''s do this!" ----------- At this moment, Lan, who always had his head down, had a resolute look on his tender face. Looking at the sinister faces of the bandits, Lan has already decided what hes gonna do next. ''According to grandpa, when you are up against a group, its best to pretend to be weak and deal a killing blow right after they make the slightest mistake. You must never be lenient, otherwise, you''ll be the one to die or suffer. If you want your freedom, you must have strength! Otherwise you''ll end like these aunties, getting taken advantage off and being at someone else''s mercy.'' ----------- The bandits rushed to the carriage like a pack of wolves looking at a flock of sheep''s and licking their lips to stop the drool from falling. Some of them, already started taking off their pants before rushing inside and pouncing on the poor women. ''Argh, filthy beast take your hands off me! Do you even know who i am? I''m an officials wife, you will not get off easily with this!'' A young woman in her early thirties dressed in costume with an air of superiority as if she held a golden spoon on her mouth since she was born, slapped a bandit who tried to take advantage of her on his face, leaving deep finger imprints as a mark. ''Peng!'' A big slap out of nowhere landed on the womens face, turning her face into a mess. Before she could regain her footing, a hand grabbed her neck and the bandits roar could be heard. "Slut, where the fuck do you think you are? Do you still think you are on Earth? You are wrong, very wrong. This is the New Realm, where the strongest fist makes the rules! And you? You are only a little filthy slave thats gonna be sold to a brothel or as a personal dog." The bandit threw the women hard on the carriages floor before the howls of misery of the poor woman could be heard. Lan, who has always kept quiet, took quick glances at the men around , who were trembling not knowing what to do, to help or to keep quiet and hope they''ll be left in peace. On another side of the carriage, a man who''s wife was getting ravaged by these inhumane fiends, tried to stop a bandit, but as a result, he got punched black and white into a pool of blood. After seeing the consequences for not behaving, nobody had another thought to rebel. ------------------------------ Slowly, in the forest, a big group of creatures could be seen, moving stealthily towards the caravan''s. Before the bandits could even notice them, the creature at the front gave a big roar that gave an echo that could turn anyone''s hair to stand on ends. Clearly, it was a signal to attack! *AWOOOOOO* Followed after were the howls of beasts which resounded in the whole forest, giving an eerie feeling to everyone present. The birds scattered about, and the wild life from the forest ran as if they felt an earthquake that''s about to happen. "It''s the damned Beastmen! From the sounds of the howls and screeching noise, it looks like we''re encircled. Form defensive formations and let''s fight! If we are even a little bit careless, we might all die today." the vice leader was quick to act and immediately gave orders to the bandits "But sir, what happened to our scouts?! Why haven''t they given us any signs of the beastmen?" "They probably got ambushed and killed off. Dammit, we shall get revenge for our brothers!" "Revenge! Let''s get revenge for our brothers!" Every single bandit almost instantly stood up and with eyes full of bloodlust, they left the carriage, leaving the poor women who''s misery reached the skies, sob in peace. The bandit who was violating the poor officials wife, nonchalantly stood up, before spitting on the floor and saying words that gave even more despair to the poor woman. "Slut, i''ll be back, you better be obedient otherwise i''ll break you like a *** toy" Just as he turned to look at the floor to look for his rusty sword, he realized that it was gone. "Which one of you bastards stole my sword? I''ll cut your arms off if i find you!" However, before he could speak another word, a streak of light made it''s way towards his neck. A small red line slowly formed around the bandit''s neck before blood started to fall like a waterfall and the bandits head went rolling on the floor, landing right beside a poor woman. "Ah! ah...ah.." The womens eyes were looking in disbelief at the severed head without being able to say a word before her eyeballs rolled upwards and she fell unconscious on the floor. Almost at the same time, the other women started screaming like a horde of hyenas before the whole carriage bustled with movement. The men and women ran straight to the exit like a pack of sheep that finally saw an exit from a slaughterhouse. ----- On the other side, the situation was far from good for the bandits. The whole place has been encircled by beastmen warriors and archers. These beastmen had human body but the heads of goats. They made a really strange scene, because the beastmen kept screaming ''Gluglugluglu'' out of their mouths. In their hands, different sorts of weapons such as daggers, poor made clubs, rusty swords similar to the one Lan got from the bandit, were used. Lan looked with keen interest at the beastmen, before a streak of information started to flow inside his mind.
Wandering Beastman, Level 3
A solitary creature that resembles humans. It often joins in big groups with other Wandering Beastman to ambush other creature, but only under the leadership of an Alpha Beastman.
The crimson clothed man gave a snort after seeing the seriousness of the situation, before giving an order to the vice leader. "Mohn''Kul! Prepare the battle formation, we''ll feast on roasted goat heads tonight!" Without batting an eye, hearing the leader''s order, the formations were reinforced even tighter by the bandits, as if they finally saw the light in this critical situation. "Kyaaaaa!!!" Before both sides could even start fighting, the seemingly tense but quiet battlefield turned into an uproar with the women and men rushing out of the carriage ,screaming and rushing towards the woods. "They, they, they are running away!" "Stop there already! Do you wanna die?! "Who the heck left the carriage open? How could you guys be so careless?" Without even turning their heads back, the captives ran in all directions, as if they don''t care about the consequences that would happen once they were captured back. Only one word was ringing in every persons mind: "Run!" *Shu Shu* A volley of arrows whistled through the air before nailing some of the unlucky men and women to the nearby trees or to the ground, turning them into porcupines. Looking at the current situation that got out of control, the crimson leathered bandit''s expression sank before a frosty look appeared on his face. "Three of you bastards! Go and capture as many as you can, if you dare to come empty handed, i''ll send your heads flying! Damned beastmen, this time you have really infuriated me. If i don''t exterminate each and one of you, i shall not be known as the Crimson Bandit!" A silvery sword appeared in the Crimson Bandit''s hands out of nowhere. The sword had an unique luster to it, as if it was a python ready to take a bite of it''s enemy. Just by taking a glance at it, one could tell that the sword was not normal. "Sword Aura!" A green aura appeared around the sword, making it look like it has been surrounded by a burning green flame. The Sword Aura was a skill that added the elemental power of a person, boosting its damage, speed, resistance or other different boosts depending on the type of Natural Element the user possesses. In the hands of the Crimson Bandit, the Sword Aura had the green color, which gave an increase to the resistance and an additional 25 kg of weight. However, to be able to use the sword after it''s weight has been increased so much, one must have an enough amount of strength stats. The Crimson Bandit clearly was not a pushover, since he tackled the biggest group of beastmen before slashing his sword everywhere, slicing some of the unfortunate beastmen in two. It was like a butcher with a butchering knife in a herd of sheep''s, with each swing, taking the life of a beastmen. The fight had almost no suspense to the Crimson Bandit, but for the other bandits, they were slowly being pushed back. A big majority of them even lost their lives from the sneak attacks by the bow wielding beastmen that were hiding in the woods. ------------------------------- After about 30 minutes of continuous fighting, both sides finally reached a standstill, but with very tragic losses for the both sides. The majority of the bandits have perished, while the continuous attacks of the beastmen finally slowed a bit down. There were still around 10 beastmen hiding in the forest, while only Mohn''Kul, Crimson Bandit and another 2 bandits that were in a very critical situation, survived. *Glugluglugluglu!* The strange laughter of the beastmen echoed through the forest, before a slightly bigger beastmen took the lead to leave the forest. If one looked careful at the beastmen, one would realize that it''s horns had a shallow blue hue, with small sparks of thunder rolling around them.
Alpha Wandering Beastman. Level 11+
The true leader of the Wandering Beastman. It loves to gather scattered Beastmen and ambush humans.
*Zzzp* Before the bandits could even react, a thunderbolt ignited out of it''s horns, before moving at a speed that was not visible to the naked eye. It''s target was one of the injured bandits, who could not dodge in time before getting scorched black. -------- After having killed the bandit, Lan decided to stay and watch the bandits fight with the beastmen. Taking cover under the carriage, Lan immediatly hid in a blind spot not visible from any angle. "Grandpa did say that humans in this world are vicious and everywhere is a fight for survival but i did not expect it to such an extent. It looks like i have to adapt quickly, otherwise it''ll be hard to survive." *Menu!* With a pop, a blue panel appeared in front of Lan''s face, visible only to himself.

"I don''t know what my grandpa did to me, but once i meet him again in the future, i better thank that old geezer for these skills. It seems like they will help me in this strange world, but i better not use them carelessly until i learn more about the current situation." But what Lan didn''t know was that his grandpa has already left the living, returning back to the yellow river. Chapter 2 Chapter 2 ------------------------ After the other bandit from the attacks of the various Beastmen, the only one remaining were the Vice Leader and Crimson Bandit. The situation looked very grim for the two of them. They were both exhausted, both mentally and psychically, barely managing to defend against the various arrows shot at the. However, the biggest threat was still the Alpha Wandering Beastman. The only reason they did not fall yet was because it was slowly restoring its spiritual power, to initiate a finishing blow. *Pssht* An arrow from a wandering beastman hit the Vice Leader''s right hand, who did not nanage to dodge in tome, ripping off the artery from his wrist. The sword fell from his grasp, before he desperately tried to stop the bleeding with no results. "Leader! I won''t be able to escape this calamity, but you can! Please leader, just run! We can''t win this fight anymore, i only hope you will avenge our brothers and me in the future..." "What nonsense are you talking about,Mohn''Kul? Run? Does it look like i have enough strenght for that? I am almost at my limit, right now, if we don''t kill them all off, we won''t survive at all The heavens sure are cruel, why must we have met with such a big gang of beastmen here? How did we even encounter such bad luck!" "Since it''s like this, we shall fight with all our powers, to the end! Even if we die after killing a few more beastmen, it will still be worth it!" -------------------- Seeing the current weakened state of the Alpha Wandering Beastman, Lan has finally decided to take action. "If there''s really a good chance for me to get stronger and reach higher levels, this should be the best chance! Since you dared to treat this young master as a slave, i''ll repay it back to you ten fold! None of you stinky bandits shall survive today! As for that goat head, hmph!" Getting out from underneath the carriage, Lan made way to the forest in a very silent. But skilled manner. In the past, his grandpa brought a lot of martial masters to train him, including a hitman. He has been taught how to assasinate, but only as a brief introduction. As long as it''s not someone especially skilled at detecting, Lan would have no problems taking down his target and leaving without getting noticed. Normally, when people deal with situations such as this, they tend to be confused or afraid. Nowdays, the humans have grown far too weak for these trials by fire. There has been so much propaganda about mercy, justice and heroism that people don''t even believe in the so-called evil. For example, in the past 30 years, after the disappearance incident took place, vandalism, rape, robbings ,kidnappings, as well as terrorism rate rose to new heights. However, the people keep turning a blind eye to the events, followed by excuses such as ''the government will protect us'', which is practically a fairy tale.. Lan, however, was different from such people. He was born in an extremely rich family that stood on top of China''s wealthiest families. From an early age, his education took another turn from the ordinary child. While other kids are sent in kindergarden, and them elementary school and so on until university, Lan has been under the teachings of home teachers, the cream of the crop. He has been taught politics, world history, military training, safety training and even after his parents disappeared, nobody could shake the foundation his family had. He has been under the care of the Butler of the house, who has watched over him since birth. After his grandpa returned home, he has been taken to that secluded island and taught commando warfare, gun training, archery, sword training and even the art of assasination. His grandfather has captured criminals from around the world, before sentencing them to be killed, by Lan, every single day. One of the cruelest methods possivle of tempering a young kid. It has been a gamble, because a normal kid, only after having seen a little bit of blood would feel nauseating and very scared, moreover to kill a person with his own hands! However, Lan, no matter how much he struggled to fight the urge to cry, he has always followed his grandfathers orders. At first, his hands were trembling like crazy, but after a continuous streak of killing wanted criminals with a very bloody history that would make one want to chop the person in a thousand pieces, Lan actually felt that killing them is letting them the easy way out! This was one of the biggest surprises to his grandfather. Making a kid kill people truly was not an easy task, but Lan had no choice but to follow the orders of his elder. The biggest lesson he had been taught since birth was to listen to his family elders no matter what, because they know what''s best for him! Lan would never disobey them , even if he hated them very much! This was the legacy of Lan''s family and it was unshakable by anyone. The elder having returned from the New Realm, where life is not worth even a dime, has seen way too much bloodshed and things that would put the most heinous criminals from Earth to shame! Slavery, humans used as cannon fodder against beast attacks, backstabbing for the smallest thing, this was the New Realm Kill or get killed. the law of the jungle , the strongest fist survives! The winner is king, the loser is slave, no matter if one is wrong or right! Slowly, Lan made hid way through the forest, before locking on a target that hid inside a bush, with a readied bow locked on the bandits. Like a spectre, Lan appeared behind the beastmen, before the sword severed it''s head in a swift movement with high precision. One hit, one kill! Picking up the bow and quiver, Lan continued to ambush the other hidden beastmen.
Congratulations, you have reached level 2! You are given 2 additional points to be added to your stats.
"After killing around 10 beastmen of levsl 3, only then could i barely reach level 2... It looks like reaching higher levels will be harder than i thought." Muttering to himself, he slowly climbed a tree like an agile monkey before taking a loom at the current situation. ------------- Meanwhile he was assasinating the hidden beastmen, the Vice Leader''s face turned into a deathly pale colour. He has lost too much blood and he looked as if a small gust of wind would turn him into a corpse. The Crimson Bandits face was very serious. He knew that today he has met his end, but he has never expected for it to happen in this forest, which he crossed around for years. One has to know that here are normally mainly Level 1 Killer Bee''s or level 2 Wardogs and rarely level 6 Lizardmen could be seen. He has used this route a lot of times in the past, always transporting newly summoned people to be sold as slaves. He has met small groups of beastmen in the past, but never had he met such a tough fight like this! Using his last spiritual power, his sword turned into a burning green flame. Sword Aura! Looking at the Vice Leader who has followed him for the past years, he sighed, before charging towards the nearby beastmen. *Tshhh* two heads went flying, becore they rolled down the road dying it red as if a carpet has been laid dow. Now, in the Crimson Bandits eyes was only one enemy. The Alpha Wandering Beastman! Kill or be killed! His sword, containing the last bit of strenght he had and boosted by the Sword Aura slashed straight at the Alpha Beastman. However, before he could even reach the last step to hit the beastman, a furious thunderbolt hit him, scorchibg him black and extinguishing the last bit of life he had left in his body. The sword''s momentum couldn''t be stopped, however, it did not manage to penetrate the Beastman''s heart and only buried itself on it''s abdomen. Lifting its hand to pull the sword, the beastman was howling in pain. Clearly, it wasn''t a minor injury at all. *Shu!* Before it could even pull out the sword, however, an arrow was howling through the winds before it embedded itself on it''s brain. Lan, who has always been hidden, has finally decided to take action. Like a fisherman. He waited until both sides managed to critically injure each other, before he made his move, killing two birds in one shot. Ever since ancient times, most conquering wars happened like this. Two sides warring each other because of various disputes and when a third side came, it would sweep bothcof them, earning all the spoils of war!

With just a thought, all the points were allocated to agility. Now from the 5 points of agility, it has increased to 11! A new flow of power surged through Lan''s body, invigorating him. Pulling out the sword and taking a stance to slash, Lan could truly see the difference. Now, he was more agile, faster and his body reactions were practically doublez'' Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. *Ah!* Looking at the body of the Alpha Wandering Beastman, Lan could see an ancient lookong book on the floor. "Is this what i think it is? A skill book? I struck it rich hahahaha!" It was just as Lan thought, the ancient looking book was really a skill book! Going forward and picking it up, a surge of information entered on Lan''s head before a blue panel appeared in front of him.
Lesser Thunderbolt, level 1 Skill Book. Allows the user to use the power of thunder and create lesser Thunderbolts to attack his enemies.
"Oh, just a Lesser Thunderbolt, well, it shouldn''t be that bad right? I''ll sell it once i get to a town, hopefully i can get some good stuff out of it.." While deep in thought, Lan has finally remembered a very important thing that his grandpa told him about. There are some monsters who have a Magic Core inside their body, mainly being the bosses or high leveled creatures. Looking at the corpse of the beastman, Lan went slowly and cut it''s chest open. Inside of its chest, a small golden mixed with a faint blue colour Magic Core in the form of a marble stood. Crouching down to pick it up, Lan felt a fresh surge of explosive power radiating from the stone. Magic Cores were the thing every being channeled its powers into. In the human body of a person from the New Realm, as well, had such things. All their powers were channeled inside this stone and if one absorbed the power of other Magic Cores, they would be able to get stronger without having to fight. However, absorbing a Magic Core was a tedious process that was filled with endless risks. Sometimes, while absorbing the power of a Magic Core, ones level could get boosted, along with extra stat points, however, other times, the user could lose stats or even become a cripple. Of course, the Magic Cores were also used in the crafting of equipment that warriors used in this world so a Magic Core could be said to be another currency! The humans, however, could not absorb othef human cores, but the beasts had no such restrictions. That''s why the beasts are so crazed to attack any random person or other group of beasts they meet, eating the Magic Core boosts their powers to new levels! The Thunder Magic Core in Lan''s hands was a very suitable material for creating weapons for Thunder Elementalists. Which means, this stone could fetch a decent price as well! Looking at the Crimson Bandit''s corpse, Lan couldn''t help but feel disappointed. The Crimson Armor worn by him was scorched black with no chances for repair in the future, this truly made Lan cringe inside. But on another side, the weapon used by the Crimson Bandit was on an entirely new league than the Rusty Sword he has taken from the other bandit in the carriage. Picking the sword up, only one word could describe the feeling of holding it. Light! Way too light! A small stream of information entered Lan''s head after using identify.
Silver Sword, a rare sword created by a Master Blacksmith. It''s very sharp and won''t easily break in a fight against higher leveled opponents despite it''s low weight!
After looking at the bandits corpze once more not to have missed anything, Lans gaze finally landed on his right hand, where a pitch black ring stood. Lan''s eyes started to shine brightly and his eyes almost turned into two stars while looking at the ring! This was something that was of utmost importance for him to get sooner or later, but he did not expect to hit the jackpot so soon! A blessing disguised as a disaster indeed. ''Identify!''
Interspatial Ring. It allows the user to store objects in another space. Dimensions: 5x5M Rarity: Common
Grinning from ear to ear, Lan took a look at the items in the Interspatial Ring, but sadly, it only had survival items such as a tent, dryed food, clothes and some weird looking coins. ''Identify!''
GC - the main currency used in the New Realm.
"Only 7 GCs? Why is this bandit so poor...? So stingy!" But what Lan dis not know was that these 7 GCs was all the fortune that the Crimson Bandit has accumulated in the past years since he was thrown in this world, clearly, it shouldn''t be a small sum at all.. Throwing away all the unnecessary stuff and storing his new gains, Lan left the place before heading in another direction from the carriage. Looking around, Lan was truly amazed by the vastness of this forest. He has already walked for an hour, but all he could see were endless towering trees and trails of beasts. He can''t just go in the open and fight like a lunatic every beadt he meets without a plan or information about his surroundings. Lan normally never had the chance to go outside alone ever since he was born. Everyday, he was under the teachings if professionals and his daily routine was simple, learn, eat, train, aleep and so on. Now that he had the chance, he is finally acting like a kid his age should! Skpping on the forest and staring at the strange creatures that looked similar but different from the ones on Earth, Lan has finally started living the life of a true wanderlust person! ''Bzzzz,Bzzzz,Bzzzz'' After having his fun on his first adventure, Lan stumbled upon a nest, a Humongous Bee Nest. Bee''s the size of a human''s head were flying around, in big groups scattered around.
Killer Bee, level 1. Weak creatures that live in the forests of New Realm. They are always in big groups.
"Oh shit.." Just as Lan was inspecting the Killer Bee''s, they slowly turned around and after seeing a human after some time and remembering the taste of the flesh, the bee''s statted buzzingike crazy. Streams of Killer Bee''s ran out of the nest, covrring the heavens and earth. "Ehm, little bee''s..i am not here to steal your honey..please don''t mind me..." Beforece could even continue sprouting nonsense, the Killer Bee''s swarmed at Lan, trying to drown him like a tidal wave. Run! Lan''s instincts were screaming like crazy to run, increase the pace, and never look back! With his newly attributed agility, Lan ran through the forest at an alarming pace, with a sea of Killer Bee''s following close behind. Normally Lan would not be afraid of fighting againat another person, but in case of an insect, it was terrivle! Normally, the human races biggest fear were insects. No matter how tough you are, a human could never stand a crawling insect in front of him! The first thought a human had when seeing such things was to squash them away! This is what Lan was feeling right now. No matter how much he ran, the sea of Killer Bee''a couldn''t be shaken off! As he ran through the forest, Lan met a group of 4 Wardogs that tried to ambush him. Before they could even attack the running Lan, they were drowned by the sea of Killer Bee''s and only their bones were visible after it passed. "Is this how am i gonna lose my life...?" Lan slowly fell into despair. No matter how collected he was, in the end, he was a 12 year old kid! No matter how much training and teachings he has received, a kid is a kid in the end. Ezhausted, Lan was slowly losing strenght in his lrgs. In the end, he couldn''t outrun the sea of Killer Bee''s and they rapidly approached him. With no strenght on his legs and having fallen on the floor ,panting for air, Lan''s face was slowly getting wet from the tears and snot. He has already ran for two hours'' this was already enough to put an adult to shame. "No...no...noo! I don''t wanna die..." Lan''s face filled with snot and tears and his crying voice was easily drowned by the buzzing sound of the Bee''s. However, before he could resign himself to his fate , an arrow flew past him, stabbing itself on a Killer Bee situated in the middle of the group. ''Boom!'' A huge explosion burst on the impact before a majority of the Bee''s started falling to the ground. What was once a sea of Bee''s was now a downpour of Bee''s! The surviving Bee''s, terrifisd, immedilty flew away, without bothering to look back at their kind. As the smoke was skowly clearing itself, the sound of footsteps could be heard and a soft voice flew in Lan''s ears. "Are you okay, little one?" Chapter 3 I had a really hard time deciding my future actions, having already written over ten chapters, but decided to rewrite them all, including this chapter. As i was writing the story, i found myself not finding it ad enjoyable as it should have been, so i hope that you guys will enjoy this novel as much as i enjoy writing it! Don''t worry, first two chapters remain unchanged. Enjoy! ----------- Chapter 3 ----------- As Lan was slowly lifting his head, a very beautiful face struck his eyes like a bolt of lightning came into view. The woman was walking in front of a small group of people with a smile on her face. There was only one word that could describe the woman, gorgeous! As the young master of a wealthy family, Lan has accompanied his parents on different occasions to high class parties, but the women he met there were a class lower than this woman in front of him! She was in a class of her own! The woman looked to be in her early twenties, a woman''s most beautiful and ripe age. Looking closer at her, the woman was wearing tight leather clothes, accentuating her slim waist. Her skin was the color of a milky snow white that almost made her seem pale, while her height was just perfect, in the middle, not too tall, not too small. Wiping away the snot and tears off his face with his sleeve, Lan slowly got up from the ground before giving a bow of courtesy towards the beautiful woman and the group. No matter what, if this group of people had not intervened, he would have been left without an intact body if he got drowned under the sea of Killer Bee''s, so this group of people could very well be considered his saviours! Lan was in no way an ungrateful person, especially since he followed a simple mentality of "if you help me. I will repay you back ten times". The group upon seeing the way Lan is behaving, slowly nodded their heads clearly pleased with his actions. A lot of people were lacking proper manners even after you saved them from disaster. "What''s your name, little one?" asked the woman as she closed the distance, standing only a few steps away from Lan "I am Lan! Beautiful Lady, i thank you all very much for saving me. If you had not come, i would have been nothing more than a bag of bones on the floor right now, serving the Wardogs of this forest. This favor, i, Lan, shall repay it back ten fold in the future!" Hearing the promise of the young kid that looked no older than 12 years, the group of people were clearly very pleased by the way he talks, improving their imoression of him by another degree! A lot of people after surviving such an ordeal would barely be able to stand up properly, but this kid has not only recovered in a very short amount of time, but he has already talked about repaying the favor. There is no way anyone in this world would not be pleased with such a little kid! The words spoken by Lan were actually spoken in all seriosity, but the poeple thought that he''s just a very humble little kid that doesn''t know how big the world truly is. How could a kid even pay it back ten fold? How could they take him seriously at all? Maybe in another ten years! "Alright, alright, Lanny kid , where are you coming from? Were you perhaps adventuring with your parents and you got lost?" The one who has spoken was a man that was slowly coming out of the group before standing beside the beautiful woman and was looking at Lan with interest. With one glance, only one would could describe thus person before him, which is... fat. Truly fat! His stature small, around 1.60 meters and coupled along with his big belly he could easily be considered a human cannon ball! Lan''s biggest impression of him was not that he was fat, but of the big Longsword on his back! The Longsword was sealed inside a scabbard, but it''s opressing feeling could be felt even when sealed. Clearly, this weapon shouodn''t be ordinary at all! Lan''s grandfather has taught him in the art of the sword ever since the beginning, calling it the true art most suitable for men! A Longsword, despite the fact that it is wielded with tho hands, at the day of the day, is still a sword! Men were always hot blooded and loved swords, especially young men like Lan. His grandfather taught him almost everything regarding Longswords, Single Handed Swords, Heavy Swords, Katana''s and other types of swords that exist. What Lan truly loved were actually Longswords for their domineering feeling of opression such as the one this fat man had! Noticing the fervent lust in Lan''s eyes when looking at the Longsword on his back, the fat man was slightly startled before giving off a hearty laughter! He seemed very pleased that this young kid shares the same sentiments as him regarding the Longswords, it was too obvious that he was someone that has already chosen the Longsword as his main weapon, otherwise, he wouldn''t have such a reaction seeing a good Longsword. Taking the Longsword out of the scabbard, the fat man looked at Lan before he threw the sword toward him. His actions took Lan a little bit aback, before regaining clarity and catched the sword on his hands. The weight of the sword was higher than expected, resulting in his hands dropping a little bit before using all his power to hold the sword straight. Taking a stance, Lan immediatly used a swordplay that his grandfather has taught him in the past. The swordplay was not meant for fighting, but for testing a swords capabilities at it''s best. Looking at Lan displaying one move after another, swing after swing and the way the sword danced the grouo was left with gaping mouths. This kid really had some skill, alright! And not only ''some'' skill, it could actually put some of the so-called warriors to shame! As the sword kept dancing in the air, it made him resemble a celestial being that descended on earth! After a full three minutes if playing around with the Longsword and giving vent to his feelings, Lan finally stopped, before softly explaining towards the fat man. "Good Sword!" After that, he threw the sword back toward the fat man who who hadn''t even fully recovered and caught the sword on instinct. The man was truly stunned seeing such a splendid swordplay coming from a kid! There weren''t a lot of people that could perform such a thing, except for the ones that have practiced the art of the sword for long periods of time! The group slowly recovered soon afterwards and their eyes full of admiration toward him. Not even five minutes have passed since Lan met the group but he has already gained their admiration with only a few words and a demonstration! "Where did you learn such a fine swordplay, kid?" asked the Fat man, clearly very pleased with him. The feelings the Fat man had towards Lan was clearly stronger than how the others felt toward him. While the others admired him, they did not truly understand much of what Lan truly did. Howecer, the Fat man could see what dedication and love Lan had for Longswords, which made him fully respect this kid. A lot of people treated weapons like toys or lifeless objects that were meant only to kill, but very few people actually treated swords with such dedication and heart. Lan''s sword heart truly reached another leveled, otherwise, he couldn''t have performed such a stunning swordplay that exhibited a Longswords entire being. A deep sense of respect surfaced from the man towards Lan, which made him view him in a new light! "I learned it from my grandpa!" said Lan, remembering the old geezer who forced him to train everyday like a madman, not giving him a chance to breathe. Having done this all the time on the lonely island, Lan truly started loving swords and made him view them as his most valuable companions. "And where is you grandpa?" "Dunno!" "What do you mean you don''t know?" "It''s only been one day since i have been summoned to this strange world and the last thing i know was that i was training with my grandpa. After that, i woke up in the middle of a forest, ending up captured by bandits before managing to escape and encountering that stupid huge bee nest! How should i know that there will be such a big stupid bee home? It was clearly a misunderstanding, but those stupid unreasonable bee''s thought i''ll steal their honey!" Remembering how he had been chased by such a big swarm of Killer Bee''s, Lan''s anger slowly resurfaced. No matter what, thise stupid bee''s will have to pay for that! Listening to Lan''s words, the group was more or less convinced of his words. Everyone knows that in this part of the forest, there is a big nest of Killer Bee''s that makes it difficult to approach. Their nest is protected by 7 Bee Protectors and their Queen. Let''s not forget about the thousands of Killer Bee''s scattered around, making the life of every other living creature difficult. It''s very easy to slap some flies, but an army of flies? Too hard! A lot of people searched for the Killer Bee nest in the past, but not even a person managed to find it''s location and and give clear pointers of where it is. The main reason was, the people that wandered in these sides of the forest were mainly people that earned their living killing beasts or bandits who are wanted everywhere and do all kinds of bad deeds. "Oh..so it''s already this time of the year again when new people are summoned to this world, sigh, there will be a lot of deaths this time again." said the beautiful woman in a soft voice "Looks like it. Lan must have been summoned only recently and judging that he was not killed after encountering bandits, surely they must have been slave traders. I''m rather curious how he actually escaped.." said another person from the group, while the others nodded along "Well, that doesn''t really matter, does it? We are here mainly for that bee nest, we have searched for one week already without finding a trace of it, we should be happy that thus kid knows where the nest is. Let''s hurry with this damned mission already, i haven''t taken a good bath for a while and i''m already starting to stink! Bah!" one of the women inside the group complained, disdaining to even stay in this lowly place even further. Listening to the group, Lan slowly grasped over some matters. New people summoned? Slave traders? Looking for the bee nest? It was very easy to figure things out. Clearly, this world had a lot of bandits, including slave traders and this group of people was looking for the bee nest that he has seen earlier. Fate truly does wonders sometimes! Lan haw barely escaoes alive from it and after he was saved by this group of people he learned that they were actually looking for the thing that hunted him just a few moments ago! Somehow, Lan didn''t know wether to laugh or to cry at the developement of this situation. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. "I can tell you where it is" said Lan, attracting the attention of the group before adding "but you have to take me with you!" Judging by the tone of his words, the group sighed. Clearly, this little kid was still pissed off after getting chased like a stray dog by those bees. Now that he finally has a glimmer of hope to get revenge, he wouldn''t sit back doing nothing! "Fine, but you will have to protect yourself, we are not gonna stay and babysit you. The bee''s aren''t a strong solitary force, but their true strenght lays in numbers! The Bee Nest is protected by 7 Bee Protectirs which are actually pretty strong from the information we received. But the one we have to be wary off is actually the leader, the Queen Bee. She''s a true force that can not be ignored, so we''ll have to fight with all our strenght and reduce their numbers before she takes actions herself. That''s why, we won''t be able to protect you!" Its not that the beautiful woman didn''t want to protect him or bring him along, but once they started fighting, the fight won''t be easy for them either! As for protecting him? Impossible! This world wasn''t some friendly place that allowed for distractions. A lot of people tried to attack the bee nest, but all of them returned unsuccesfully or died, feeding the creatures of the forest. The bee''s were normally low leveled beasts that gave negligble experience, no drops and their carcasses were uselees except for the stinger which could fetch a low price. Nobody liked hunting or dealing with them, because the losses were bigger than the gains. But there was one good thing that people wanted from them and that was the honey they produced. In the past, there was a group of mercenaries that managed to find a Bee Nest and sweep it up, collecting all the honey and selling it off on an auction. The honey was a delicacy and it could enchance a person''s vitality permanently, adding a new growing stat to the user. This resulted in a lot of missions given by the alchemist association to collect it, since it could be used with other ingredients in creating valuable potions. However, not a lot of people ventured looking for such things because attacking a bee nest is truly similar to attacking a highly defended fortress that even after conquered, the honey could only fetch a little higher pricecthan the carcasses of some medium leveled beasts, which was not worth the trouble at all. The effects would lower the more one ate the honey, becoming inexistent after some time. Lan slowly started walking towards the directions in which he came from, with the group of people walking slowly behind him. Sometimes a random beast came blocking their way, but it either ran with it''s tail between it''s legs from the imposing air of the group, either it became fertilizer for the nature. The group slowly introduced themselves to Lan, resulting in a friendlier relation with him. The beautiful woman was called Tianya and the man with the Longsword was called Mark. The group of people were actually mercenaries but of a low grade. Despite the fact that Tianya was a woman, she was surprisingly the leader of this small group of mercenaries. The group called themselves "The Seven Mercenaries" which was actually a pretty boring name in Lan''s opinion, but he didn''t voice his thoughts trying not to piss them off. Their levels weren''t very high either, most of them being 9-10 while only Tianya was level 12 and Mark level 11. But being in this world for six years already, they should have some skills that would be useful against monstera in a fight, assumed Lan. But hearing their levels were so low, Lan found it rather difficult ti understand..why are their levels so low? He is only here for one day and he has already reached level 4, what have they done so far? Lan could not resist the temptation and asked the question in the end. The answer he received was simple, higher leveled monsters were too hard to deal with and the group lacked the capabilitiea to deal with them. Not only that, the dangers of hunting higher leveled beasts were too high and they often fought in groups. After a certain level, monsters also attacked with spells and had intelligence not lacking to humans either, resulting in high casualties and risks their group could not afford to bear. So they only did low missions letting them a glimmer of hope to live comfortably and dangerless. The group did not bother explaining too much about the strenght of higher leveled beasts since one has to fight against them himself to realize the difference between lower leveled monsters like Killer Bee''s and higher leveled beasts. At the end of the day, he is just a kid, what''s the point in telling him more than that, they thought. Despite the fact that hw was proficient in the art of the sword, so what? There were a lot of people skilled in theory, but when having to take action, would lose control of themselves and tremble, unaible to move and die. After walking for around two hours, the group finally caught sight if randomly scattered Killer Bee''s around the forest. The Bee''s were easily taken care by Widi, one of the girls, who was the sole archer of the group. Her archery was pretty good, not missing a shot so far. Clearly, the scattered bees indicated only one thing. They were getting closer and closer to the nest! Not even thirty minutes after that, they caught sight in the distance of the humongous sized bee nest which was surrounded by Killer Bee''s in every part, covering the skies and earth! "This is...huge, way too huge! What the f**k, why is this nest so big?" one of the men could not help but curse out loud "Weird, truly weird! Normally, bee nests are not supposed to be this big, even though they are well over ten meters, none of them were like this one! This thing was well over thirty meters! What the bloody hell is going on!" another person spoke, his voice filled with agitation Lady Tianyas expression also darkened at rhe sight of the nest. This was truly not what they thought it was, according to the informations they received upon accepting the mission, the bee nest was only medium sized, this was actually oversized and not only by a little bit! "We were lied.." said Mark, depressed "Indeed, that damned wrench! She actually hid the most important things from us and we even accepted the bet! God damn it all, now we''re in such a deep mess, going against this fortress is like seeking certain death! But if we turn around and return empty handed, we will lose everything we have worked for so far!" spoke Tianya, biting her red lips with raging anger inside of her, but also unable to change anything avout the situation. Seeing the faces of the people changing so quickly, Lan did not know wether to laugh or to cry. At the end of the day, isn''t it just a bigger sized nest? What''s there to dwell so much on the problem for? Just kill everything and loot it all! The way Lan was thinking was straightforward and straight to the point. Why waste so much time thinking? Just go and take action! The group was clearly pretty experimented, slowly, slowly regaining their cool. They immediatly retreated a few hundred meters away, before taking cover under some bushes to formulate a plan of attack. "So, anyone has any better idea than directly tacklinf the nest?" spoke Mark, with a wry smile on his face. His personality was strongly alike Lan''s, straightforward "Silly Mark, we can''t just do that. Did you see all those bee''s? They are well over two thousand! Using a head-on tactic won''t get us any results!" "How about we gather a bit majority of bee''s in one place and kill them? We all know that Widi bought a few explosive talismans and their explosive power slould be pretty useful, this is practically the only way we can fight against this army of bee''s." said Tianya slowly. Clearly, she deserved the titls of a leader, immediatly taking the lead and laying down a plan. The others, hearing the words from Tianya, slowly regained clarity over the situation. So what if they were big in numbers? They, as well, had enough strenght to put off a good fight! If they can catch them all, they can just attack them all in one go and reduce their numbers by more than half in one go! After that, things will get simplier and allow them to focus on the Bee Protectors and Queen Bee. Lan looked at the group and slowly nodded his head. They have clearly fought a lot of times together in the past and survived some ordeals together, otherwise, they wouldn''t be so decisive regarding such a fight. Seven persons and one kid against an army of thousands of Killer Bee''s? This is not something anyone without some serious brain problems would do! Lan slowly started enjoying being in the same group with them. They were daring and straightforward, not like other people, running before they even tried. Now that''s a true adventure and challenge, Lan''s bloos started boiling inside of him just thinking of seeing these damned insecta pay their debts! ''"We will need someoen to bait them for us.." spoke Tianya before continuing "but whom?" However, a person appeared on her mind. Turning around toward the mercenaries, clearly everyone shared the same thought. They slowly turned toward a certain person who''s blood was still burning, full of excitement, before realizing that he became the center of attention and everyone had a grin on their face when looking at him. "What is it..." spoke Lan, slightly intimidated "Hahaha Lan, since you really wanted to come with us, we have a job for you!" said Mark giving off a hearty laughter. Realizing what it is about, only one thought appeared on his mind. ''F**k'' ----------- If there are any typos or grammar mistakes and you would be willing to point them out, it would be of great help to me. Thank you very much! Chapter 4 Chapter 4 --------------- I know that there are minor typos, but i can''t help it, since i am writing from a phone with half the screen broken and am not even home for the whole month. Anyway, enjoy the chapter and leave a review/comment in case you enjoy it! :) P.S I will edit my mistakes as soon as i get back home on my pc. ------------- The plan was relatively simple. Bait them and kill them together. What was to be done was even simpler. Someone had to beat the drums in front of the fortress, disturbing the peace. And who was the lucky one to do that? Of course, the prized meat who held the wrath of the bee''s! "Lady Tianya, are you sure everything will be alright..?" spoke Lan, gulping down a mouthful of his own saliva. "Its gonna be alright, just go and make some noise, after their failure earlier, they will surely be wrathful towards you! Don''t worry, if the worst comes to worst , we will save you and follow plan B." Hearing her, Lan actuay disdn''t feel reassured at all. The so called plan B was actually...Retreat at full speed. Just by hearing that they have such a plan B, Lan''s confidence ln them plummeted down. Clearly, they themselves felt their winning chances were slim.. Looking at the wry smile on Lan''s face, Mark immediatly tried to speak a few words of encouragement to him. "Don''t worry Lan, we will be here for you, you don''t have to worry about anything..." "Then why don''t you do it yourself!" barked Lan annoyed. Giving off a silly laugh, Mark immediatly dodged the question and started humming off looking at the sky and exclaiming to himself "what a beautiful day" Seeing the carefree manner of Mark, Lan was totally resigned before slowly moving towards the bee nest. With the Silver Sword in hand, Lan paved a way through the scattered bee''s that appeared on his way. Lan''s movements were lightning fast, not giving the chance to any bee to alert their friends until Lan was only a few meters before the bee nest. Once Lan got closer of only fifty meters away, some scattered bees immediatly noticed him, before the buzzing started. What started as a minor buzzing from a bee, like the rain, immediatly buzzing from the thousand bees in the vecinity resounded even higher, trembling the heavens and earth. No matter how weak the bee''s were, nobody would doubt the strenght of an enraged tidal bee wave of two thousands units. The buzzing has not faded away, but it was slowly growing stronger than ever, as all the bee''s in the vecinity gathered back to the nest , forming layer upon layer of defenses for the nest. It was truly a sight to behold, the actions of these bees resembled a true formation of defense against the attacks from an enemy. Sweat started pouring on Lan''s back like a downpour, slowly losing his footing. Lan was truly intimidated by the bees! "What are you doing, are you stupid?! RUN!" a thunderous voice resounded in the forest, full of anxiety and dread. Clearly this voice belonged to Lady Tianya. Without delaying any further, Lan ran straight into the direction of the group at the highest speed he was capable of. Seeing the wrathful human run away once more, the bees were enraged and ran straight towards him. However, not all the bees left. Half of them chased him, while the other half stayed behind to defend the nest. Despite the fact that the bees were stupid creatures, their biggest instinct was to protect their own nest. No matter what, the safety of the nest was of the highest priority, especially since their Bee Queen was currently residing inside. The group seeing that only half of the bee''s chased Lan was slightly disappointed, but immediatly regained their tempers. No matter what, reducing their fighting force in half was better than fighting against all of them! "Everyone, i''ll stop them for a brief moment, the rest of you, launch your strongest attacks so we''ll get rid of these insects in one go! Failure is not permitted this time, there''s too much at stake." said Lady Tianya to the group. Normally, they wouldn''t take such dangerous missions such as attacking a fortress of bee''s, but this time, because of a silly argument at the Mercenary Guild''s Tavern with another mercenary, they have no choice but to fulfill it. The group inhaled and exhaled foul air, before taking proper stances and weapons slowly appeared on everyones hands. On Lady Tianyas hands appeared a Wand, clearly she must be a magician while Widi wielded her longbow and Mark had his treasured Longsword while the others were all equipped with swords. As Lan was getting closer and closer towards the group, so was the swarm, which looked like black hole ready to swallow eveeything inside. Lady Tianya slowly hit the ground, before starting to chant softly, using an unknown language that made it hard to understand. In just a matter of time, two boulders materialzed before flying towards the right and left side of the bee swarm, as if wishing to squash all the bee''s alive. However, in no more than two seconds, all the bee''s suddenly halted in mid-air, as if paralyzed and Lady Tianyas panting voice could be heard. "Do it, i can''t hold the Earth Magnetic Field any longer! You have two seconds, attack!" Before her words even left her mouth, Widi''s arrow flew towards the unmoving killer bee''s from mid-air. Once more, after the arrow hit, an explosion occured, killing more than half of the Killer Bee''s inside. The rest of the group members immediatly ran straight towards the bees after the explosion. Widi was shooting normal arrows, managing to kill two-three bee''s per shot. As for the others, their actions were more or less impressive, because they were only swinging their swords, not using any skills. Lan was slightly disappointed seeing this scene, since he truly wanted to see the true strenght of the group. Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.Lan immediatly joined the fight as well, killing randomly scattered bee''s that appeared on his way. What made Lan surprised however, was that no matter after killing over 50 bees, he still showed no signs of leveling up, making him slightly depressed. The group of bees were easily taken care off after that. After the combination of Lady Tianyas Earth Field and Widi''s Explosive Shot, the bees were slightly confused and terrified, putting a lower display of power and resistance on the fight. Some of the bees slowly started regrouping and retreating toward the nest. After a bitter fight against them, Lan''s group finally stopped their massacre and of the one thousand bee''s that were, more than eighty percent were lying dead on the floor, becoming fertilizer for the nature. This group of people, no matter who it was, was clearly stronger compared to the bandits Lan met in the past. No wonder they could travel so carefree in these forests, their strenght was on another level ! Lan did not doubt thay any of these people could be compared to or even stronger than the Crimson Bandit he has met earlier. This is the difference between quality and quantity. That bandit group had the numbers, but how many of them truly cared of growing stronger? They were just intoxicated fools by carnal pleasure and bullying the weak. The current situation went according more or less to Lady Tianya''s expectations. She was pleased to find that more that half of the Killer Bee army was taken down, but the same tactic wouldn''t work again. The Bee Protectors role was mainly to protect the Queen, but they had another role. Leading the Killer Bee''s in searching new places to build nests onto and fight for territories! Eating such a loss, it was only to be expected that the Bee Protectors will soon step in and lead the Killer Bee to fight. "This is truly annoying, i think it''s time for that" said Tianya "Should we take them out now..?" replied Mark, clearly a little bit excited "Yes, the Bee Protectors are gonna come out soon, once they are out, just focus fire on them! As long as they die, the Queen Bee will come out and that''s when the true fight will begin." After that, the wand slowly disappeared from Tianya''s hands and instead, a gun appeared. The gun resembled a pistol, but it was bigger and was slightly weird looking, considering that the barrel was as big as a ping pong ball. Obviously, it shouldn''t be using normal bullets. In the hands of Mark and another two persons also appeared these strange guns, exactly like the one Lady Tianya had. "Lady Tianya, what is that?" asked Lan, intrigued "A Magical Gun" "Magical Gun? How is it possible to have guns in this world and why did my grandpa never tell me about them?" "Silly kid, obviously your grandpa never told you about them. The Magical Guns of this world are different than the ones we have on Earth. Instead of bullets, we are using marbles inscribed with elemental power, created by Inscription Masters. The strongest Magical Guns around are barely able to contend with monsters of level 20 with lower defences... Other than that, they are useless. Considering your sword skills, focusing on a sword is better than playing with these trashy things, that offer you no future." However, the guns truly piqued Lan''s interest. Why are the guns so weak? On Earth, a gun is the strongest weapon that a man wields! Lan loved swords, but he also felt a minor attraction for guns. Using a gun was clearly safer and the destructive power was also stronger than when using a sword! "Watch and learn, kid" exclaimed Mark, before pointing his Magical Gun toward a bee. As soon as Mark pressed on the trigger, the marble like bullet flew with a very high speed that could be comparable to normal guns before it penetrated the bee. But, nothing happened, as the bee continued moving closer towards the nest. "Why is the bee still fine?" asked Lan clearly annoyed that the bee didn''t die from one hit. "Haha, just wait and see." And then, Mark started muttering to himself in a voice that everyone could hear as he watched the bee getting closer to the formation. 5...4...3...2...1. Boom! The bee exploded into pieces just as the countdown ended, igniting the bee into flames that spread to other bee''s in the vecinity. "Now! Use the common bullets, leave the elemental ones for the Bee Protectors!" Ordered Lady Tianya As her words fell, the Magical Gun from her hands opened fire. The others, following her, started shooting as well towards the bee. Every bullet, once reaching the bee''s gave off a soft explosion before two or three bee''s exploded into pieces. Clearly, the ''common'' bullets Lady Tianya meant were inscriptioned with less than 10 percent of the power of an explosive shot that Widi''s arrows wielded. Each Magical Gun had 12 shots before they had to be reloaded. As the gunfire continued, more and more bee''s died before only a few hundred were left alive. At this time, as everyone stopped firing, seven massive bee''s rushed out ot the nest, before flying in front of the bee formation. Normally, Killer Bee''s were the size of a a human''s head, but the bee''s that rushed out were actually as big as a human! They also had two hands which held silver spears. Lan''s was immediatly intrigued by them. ''Identify!''
Bee Protector. Level 9
The Bee Protector is in charge of protecting her majesty, The Queen Bee. It also leads the Killer Bee''s in attacks to fight for territories.
''Damn, they are just as strong as all the other members of the group. What the f**k, if they are level 9, just what level is the Queen Bee at?'' muttered Lan to himself looking at the stats.. ------
