《War of Worlds: A Tale of Power》 Prologue: The Fallout Humanity¡­ They are a race which value intelligence over power. Beings that only want to make life easier for them. In their quest to achieve immortality they came across a parallel dimension that eerily resemble ours but with more vile creatures and the most prominent feature of all, there are no humans. Scientists found bones there that closely resemble modern humans so they started to research all about that place. Everything that they got there were just shocking. All creatures there possess something that modern human call fantasy. They possess a slight feint energy which they use to do things beyond what humans could comprehend, a little something what fantasy books call ¡°magic.¡± They proceeded to study this new-found place as best as they could. To understand how the creatures that lurk there and to reverse-engineer what the creatures could do. What about the other monsters? They get killed after they have set foot on humankind¡¯s turf. These things go on until the creatures from the other side became sick on what the humans are doing with them. A gigantic horde of different creatures flooded the gates that shocked the ones that are currently on guard in the other side. The monsters that went through the hole in space time shocked the humans as they never expected this much monsters to come out of the gate. In mere seconds, the camp that is housing the tear through space time was breached and been overrun by monsters. Humans never give up as they tried their very best to dispose of the treat. But in the end they have decided to give up an entire continent just for the sake of their safety. The planes from carriers flew to ¡®ground zero¡¯ and nuked the living hell out of that place. The result, every monster, city and humans that are within range of the explosion vanished¡­ Just as they thought they were safe there is something hidden that can be the cause on why the humans on the other dimension suddenly vanished, a pathogen that infects creatures from the other side. This is part of the colony of pathogen that survived the nuclear attack. The other dimension was far more destructive than that of a nuclear attack so it is not shocking to see that little critters survive. But with more time, the pathogens slowly moved onwards onto neighboring countries and started to infect hosts. Humans will try their very best to relieve the world of this otherworldly threat but to no avail. It will continue infecting more and more humans and will start to kill them very soon. As the years gone by, Earth was now a different place, buildings from civilizations were destroyed and animals relished freedom once again. Humans are just like cockroaches, they just never die. They still live in small settlements far from lost civilizations, spread across the map with small quantities. Things slowly changed as phase two of the fallout started. Animals and humans alike started mutating and this mutation led onto the start of the five races that ruled the new world. The Terrans, humans with more intellect yet have no different features, the Elvins(or elves), are masters at magic, the Rovers, the hunters of the new world, the Uragons, the berserkers, and the Polobs, the masters of combat. Animals took on mutations as well, making the world much, much more dangerous. Of course the races have something of their own, making everything easier. Terrans are exceptions, though their brains are much more capable, their weapons can only kill monsters at the very bottom of the food chain. All races agreed to divide the globe to have equal territories. All having 20% of the land, they have also formed an alliance, swearing that no other races are to be killed in the first 15 years of prior to the ¡®fallout.¡¯ The territory of Terrans with filled with lush forest and vegetations to fuel their quest to make better weapons and to provide cover from monsters. And so, Terrans built cities on top of their old ones, either in the middle of a gigantic jungle, high up the mountains or inside a cave. All of their cities were strategically placed, giving them more cover and more efficiency. The cities within the jungles are generally home to traders and lumberjacks, the ones on the jungle are capitals which only can be reached through air, and the ones within the caves are generally home to miners. Thing were steady in the next 14 years as Terrans developed some great pieces of technology eventually making their own integrated trade system. Things were finally looking up to them but when the 15th year struck, they suddenly lost almost all hope. As the 15th year struck their alliance with the other race ended and this started the ¡°Intregal War.¡± Almost all main capitals have either been destroyed or captured and this destroyed all hopes for Terrans. The war continued to this day where only 14% of all lands belong to the Terrans. Some was taken from them by other races while some was taken over by monsters. They are slowly losing hope, with each city destroyed or captured, their weapons become weaker and weaker¡­ They are losing the battle of the fittest. They have become so weak that even small hordes of monsters can overpower an entire city all by itself. They have to create a plan, and they have to do it FAST! On this they started ¡°Project: CORE¡± which stands for: C ¨C Capture O ¨C Obliterate R ¨C Repair E ¨C Extend On this project they started to create squads that is equipped with powerful weapons to get back what they have lost. This only applies to those cities overrun by monsters but also applies to those cities with low defenses. Now this is a story of a man who forced to be a part of this project and ended up getting more than what he bargained for¡­ Something out of this world¡­ Chapter 1: A Turn for the Worse Location: Kingvale 20XX Our story starts at Kingvale, one of the main capitals of the Terran race. This is where nature and Terrans coexist peacefully. It was a place where the cement city and the lush forest is combined into one seamless network. This city a gigantic one, much, much bigger than all of others, though even if this is a big city is has a big flaw, its defenses are even lower than that of smaller cities. It was on purpose by the way, because this city is a trade hub of all races and is inviting even more traders of the other races to that place. This is where Kurokku, lives. A man who is born at this city, he is a swordsman-in-training. His parents work for the government in this place, though he is rich and can afford anything he wants, he always felt that he is incomplete, feeling that there is something else that he needs to do with his life. And that time arrived sooner than expected¡­ After peaceful day the settlers and traders settled in for the night. Though this is much like the other days this one wants to end with a bang. A big horde of monsters suddenly appeared from all sides and breached the walls. It was then all hell break lose. Kurokku is still fast asleep that night. He was just woken up by the sound of the emergency bell roaring through the entire city. He rushed through the city to try to get to his parents but to his surprise he found his mother lying in the ground, next to her, his father crying. He quickly rushed to his father and asked what happened. ¡°One second we are looking onto the night sky and talking about how we met then this,¡± uttered his dad. He was in shock, his mother that he cared so much for had gone that fast¡­ Just as he was about to cry his heart out, a small group of monsters located the three, and quickly surrounded them. ¡°Kurokku, escape while they are still interested in me¡± was the words that came out of his father¡¯s mouth just after seeing the monsters. He quickly refused saying that he lost one family member just now, and he won¡¯t want that to happen again. His father quickly replied, ¡°You really are an idiot¡­Just leave me be, you have still more years than you and have more to do¡­Go on live out your life for me.¡± With that he took his leave and left his parents, knowing that in just a night he lost the ones that gave him life. Whilst crying he ran as fast as he could to the gate, hoping to drown away sorrows after he escape. The result, he got caught up with the same band of monsters from earlier¡­ The alpha have bloodstains all over its mouth with some familiar clothing to come with it, he knows what have been done. As the monsters moved closer he just closed his eyes, knowing that he did not finish his father¡¯s last request, it was like his life flashed all over his mind. It is a little thing to pay the man who literally saved his dying flame. ¡°Don¡¯t follow me kid, you cannot survive on where I belong, you are better off alone than going along with me¡­ You cannot handle the things we do¡± replied the man. Kurokku did not care on what the man said and followed him anyways. Halfway toward towards the walk, the man looked upon him and said ¡°Kid, last warning¡­ If you did not walk away from here you will definitely regret it. It is a dangerous world out there but our world is much, much more dangerous. Then again, he did not process what the man said and kept following the man. Then he saw it, a big facility just in the north. It looks like something out of fiction, but unaware to him that facility is the center of Project: CORE. -0-0-0-0-0- When they arrive, he was quickly surrounded by men from the facility. ¡°Who are you? Where are you from¡± they said, hesitant for Kurokku to answer. ¡°He is with me. This kid just won¡¯t budge, so I guess you need to make him one of us.¡± Kurokku was dumb-founded, he just don¡¯t know what to say on what he heard. ¡°So kid, you just came here and we need to for you to join us. If you refuse we might need to kill you¡­¡± ¡°Told you kid, our life is really different than you in the city, also call me Master if you want¡± his ¡®master¡¯ said. Even tho¡¯ he don¡¯t want to be part of this, he just accepted his fate and let the wind carry him to where he may go. After he signed all of the paperworks they gave him, he was guided to a room that looks like something out from a 5-star hotel. It was very beautiful and is eye-catching, it was even more luxurious than his room from his house. ¡°This will be your room, just feel comfortable. Don¡¯t worry about rent because it is covered by Project: CORE.¡± He then asked on what is Project: CORE is and the man answered ¡°Project: CORE is a project for capturing our lost cities.¡± He nodded as he sat on the bed, to his surprise it was even softer than his last, he rested his head and almost slept. But before he could wander his dreamland he heard the man said: ¡°Oh I forgot, tomorrow is your first training, do not be late okay.¡± Chapter 2: Something out of this world After a good rest Kurokku headed straight for his practice. He thought by having a good training he could avenge his parents¡¯ death and fend off the war of the races. He arrived just in time with his master and an odd group of people with him. ¡°Welcome to training¡± said his master. He was confused on why is there a group with him knowing that in his training as a swordsman, he was trained by an instructor and is all by himself. ¡°Kid, our training will comprise of two basic ingredients: The first being training with me, the second by going outside and experiencing what we do.¡± Now he knows on what they will be doing, he will band with this group and will be experiencing physical training. ¡°We will be exploring Kingvale, your old city. We might find something of use there that we can utilize here in base,¡± the leader of the group said. He was baffled on why they are going to Kingvale. He was sure by now that officials from bigger cities had come there and will get anything of use. There is very little possibility that they would get something there and his parents never said anything hidden within Kingvale. They moved at night primarily because the other races will seize the opportunity to get what they can out of that place too, but by doing so will encounter much bigger horde of monsters. He was the last one to go, scared on what the bigger monsters can do to them. When they arrived, they quickly saw on what has happened to city after all the fires burned out. The city hall was the only thing recognizable by that point while everything was burned to the ground. They quickly spread out, Kurokku sticking to the leader because he thought he has more experience. The weapon that Kurokku got was a classic one, A bow, it was engraved with details and was painted a bright silver with a green glowing disk at the middle, the only thing that was bothering him was that it got no arrows to work with and how the bow works was out of his mindset. The two encountered a group of wild creatures that are very similar to a bear. ¡°Stay sharp, they are agile and packs a punch, do not get in spot where their claws will land because it can slice and dice you in no time.¡± The first bear dashed for the leader which he quickly reacts to and evades. The second bear aimed for the leader too, Kurokku was amused on how the leader is juggling the bears. He was looking at the leader battle that he did not realize that the third bear was setting his sights on him. The third bear dashed towards Kurokku that luckily only wounded him. While he tried to fend the third bear off, the two bears that the leader is facing suddenly head bashed him with so much force that it sent the leader flying off the distance. He quickly saw the two bears under the rubble of the collapse land. He then proceeded to look around the place he fell. It was astounding, it was filled with animals and weapons he could not recognize. It was confined inside a big area that closely resembles a laboratory complete with specimens from all over the planet. It was simply unbelievable¡­ The thing that caught his attention was a big gun pointing upwards to the sky. It was connected to some sort of device that would power it. It was lined with glowing lines that filled in the gun and was scribbled all over with writings that he cannot understand. Even the control panel of this big gun has a note on it. He grabbed the note hoping that someone in the base could read it, and after looking around once more, another thing grabbed his sight. It was a cube, with a bright blue core, it stands out of all of the things inside the laboratory, and was inside a big chamber. On the outside of the chamber there was writing that says, ¡°CW: The last hope.¡± Another note was outside the chamber but this time it is readable, he was confused on what the two notes might be so he decided to read it: ¡°For the one who will find this note: Welcome to the last hope of all Terrans, this is the a laboratory where almost everything before the fallout is kept. Weapons, Animals, Plants and even pathogns are all kept inside all of this. This has been a secret on all of Terrans so only a handful of persons know this place. The thing you can see is a mix of science and the manipulation of the other side, it is a thing that we can grant to the one who can find this place either if they want to use it for good and for bad. Just remember that, all of us will be on your side.¡± He then proceeded to go inside the chamber¡­
