《The Way of Ambitions》 Chapter 1 three hundred men Hi guys, first (redone) chapter. Chapter two is coming tommorow!! Chapter 1 three hundred men Chapter 1 "Men kill these god damn bastards! They are o-¡" A man, holding an AK in his hands fired a few shots and got up from behind his hiding place trying to encourage his comrades before suddenly being silenced. Two bullets had simultaneously pierced his head and in the end he only kept standing for a moment before finally falling to the ground. Next to him a few other men also equipped with various weapons cursed before they dragged his death body from the street. "Fuck they''ve got Zeg to!" "He was our fucking best marksman and even he was unable to even hit one of these damn demons!" Having dragged the dead body behind them they quickly took his place and also started to send a hail of bullets towards the other side of the street. They aimed for a group with 12 men that were currently closing in onto their defense. Most of these men were also equipped with either AK''s or other firearms, but in front of the other ten men, two men were advancing wielding only cold weaponry in forms of knives and blades. While the 10 men with firearms had to constantly search for walls and cars to use as protection from bullets, the two men in the front simply advanced in a straight line not seeming to notice the rain of bullets around them. In fact as they saw these two men simply running through the hail of bullets they let loose, even the men shooting had their troubles to believe that there were really bullets constantly raining towards these two men. It seemed like the bullets simply disappeared before they reached these two men. Finally the two men reached the defense constructed of simple bags of sand pulled together and forming a 2 meter high wall and while one suddenly made a incredible jump, lifting himself as high as five meters above the ground, the other simply seemed to have disappeared for a brief moment before reappearing behind the wall. Of course a shower of bullets was once against heading towards the man that made an beautiful arc in the air, but it was obvious that they wouldn''t have any effect as they did the other times. Once again it seemed that the bullets disappeared without any sign and the man simply descended downwards. As he was falling down the other man already reached the first three men that had been positioned at the defense. One of them, a young man in his twenties still tried to get his weapon between himself and the demon that had attacked them, but the ''demon'' simply reached out with his left hand and pulled at the barrel of the weapon making the bullets piercing through the air and uselessly fly through the sky. At the same time a blade appeared in his hand and he sliced down onto the young man''s throat. Just before the blade reached the other weak flesh and thoroughly killed him, one of the other defenders pulled out a small caliber gun and aimed at the ''demon''s'' head. The ''demon'', in other words the attacker, reacted in time lifting his right arm to protect his head and allowing the bullet to pierce deeply into it. But even as the bullet pierced through the arm the knife continued it''s course and finally reached the young man''s throat and with one motion severed his head. "You bastard, you''re a level two expert!" The ''demon'' exclaimed. Blood splashed and tainted the ''demon''s'' face red as he didn''t stop here but changed direction and rammed into the man with the gun. Using the shoulder with the injured arm he slammed into the other causing him to lose balance. At the same time his legs made a strange movement or rather a strange motion that caused him to instantly regain his balance and stand upright while the other was falling to the ground. Finally a steel needle appeared in his sleeve and with a flick of his arm it hissed through the air and cleanly pierced through the others eye killing him instantly. As the second defender was death, the third one finally managed to move pulling up his AK and aiming at him from a distance of maybe two meters. The attackers face became grim as he knew that he had no way to avoid the bullets at this range, but before the defender could pull the trigger and set the bullets free a shot reached their ears. Blood ran down the defenders back as his disbelieving eyes stared at the attacker in front of him. Behind him a faint sound ran out as the second attacker finally landed on the ground, a short gun in his hand. Then a last thump sounded as the last defender fell towards the dirt on the ground. "JAKE WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE THESE STUPID JUMPS? Fuck, this guy with the gun was a hidden level two expert!" The ''demon'' immediately yells at Jake who walks to him with a grin. "Dan, Dan what the heck are you yelling for? He''s just level two, you do this kind of guy while watching porn don''t you? Why are you even injured? Can it be that the mighty boss of Emperor''s Rule is unable to kill a meager level two expert?" Dan¡¯s eyes gleamed frosty as a strange grin appeared at his face. "Oh does this mean that you think I''m too weak?" Jake paled as he saw his mistake. Of course he knew that a level two expert was nothing to Dan and normally didn''t even stand a moment against Dan. "No I wou-¡" "So you want to try me?" Dan interrupted his grin becoming vicious. "Fuck, drop this Dan you know it was only a freaking joke!" Jake became completely panicked as he looked into Dan''s vicious eyes. Finally Dan just made a small laugh. "As if. Let''s drop this and look for the rest of our men, I also have to get the fucking bullet out of my poor arm." Jake eased up as he saw that Dan dropped his threats. "Key Boss. But really, why do you always have to be this serious with this shit? Really thought you would trash me right there." A grin escaped Dan''s control as he looked at his complaining friend. He got into motion leaving the street and entering the main street. Cursing Jake sped up catching up with him and together they walked back. On their way there were tens of men running around cleaning up corpses and disposing them on trucks that were then driven out of the city. Others stripped the corpses from everything that could be worth money and began to make an inventor of the items. There were multiple piles of weapons and equipment that had ones belonged to the fraction that occupied this district. Each was guarded by one or two men with automatics that were looking out or anyone that got too close to the weapons on the ground. In the world as it was right now, weapons were power and power was the only way to ensure survival. It was only natural that almost everyone in the city craved for one of the weapons that were lying right before their eyes and there had been many accidents were young hot blooded man tried to get a hand on one of these weapons and was killed by the man around. To prevent any of these attempts at their roots, Dan had posted guards at every pile and made it obvious that trying to steal one of them means throwing your life away. After 10 minutes of walking they had finally reached the street where Dan had been earlier looking down onto the other faction¡¯s dead boss. The street here had already been cleaned up completely and was completely closed up by his men. No one that didn''t belong to them was allowed to go into the street now. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. Several men were standing, looking at phones in their hands and giving out orders to other men. A busy stream of men were constantly entering with reports and leaving with new orders. As Dan and Jake entered the street one of the men that were giving out orders immediately came towards him. "Sir, the whole district has already been taken control of. There is no one around now that could be a threat for us." Dan glanced towards the man. "What¡¯s the causality count?" "Five dead on our side, three permanently disabled and twenty men injured. The injured will take about a month to heal, after this they should be up again." "The other side?" The man hesitated. "300 men dead, including the whole leading circle. The whole Scorpion faction was totally decimated and there is no more threat from it." "Any problem with the inhabitants?" "No Sir, they were exceedingly calm and made no trouble for us. We met no resistance at all. The only thing that might require your directions would be the other faction¡¯s girls. We have found a few dozen girls in the enemies headquarters, are we supposed to deal with them like the other times?" Dan didn''t even have to think about it. Indifferent he ordered. "Just like always, those who don¡¯t resist are given to the men with the highest contribution. They can play with them as they like. As for those who resist, kill them." The other man didn''t even blink as he took his orders. He was long since used to the way the enemies¡¯ women were treated. "Yes sir." With all matters being cleared the man didn''t hang around and went back to his position while once again giving out orders to the other men. Dan turned to Jake. "So this was the southern district hmm? 300 men, a whole faction wiped out because of some dozen houses." This world was cruel, cruel to the extreme. Lives were nothing here and both Dan and Jake knew this. Only the strong could survive here and strive for something greater. At January the fourth of the year 2015, ''IT'' had begun. ''THEY'' had suddenly appeared on the planet human kind had always claimed his own. The ''Others'' as they are called were multiple intelligent races and human civilizations that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Each of them had multiple tens of millions of individuals within them. Human kind who had always been the only intelligent being on earth and never faced any other kind that could rival them in intellect and the possibilities that emerged out of it, had now suddenly gotten a couple of new ''neighbors''. Of course there had been hopes to get over this whole thing without shedding blood. Languages were researched, barriers of communication were destroyed and compromises were made, but while some of these newcomer races agreed to peace and decided to integrate into the existing society of humans, others didn''t agree and demanded their own territories, leading to war and the fall of multiple small nations. The other big nations naturally felt threatened by these blood thirsty aggressors that were not afraid of committing genocide had banded together creating an alliance to suppress the races that chose war and recover the lost territories. Unlike you might believe, they actually managed to push them back, because even though the other races possessed their own racial properties that made them stronger than regular humans like form changing and things like magic, Humanity had an overwhelming higher cultural and technological development. Even the highest grade magic employed by the Elven race with the most powerful magic could not fight back against the coupled might of multiple nations nuclear missiles. In the end the enemy races were pushed back and a big part of the territory was recovered. Also humanity had another card that ensured their advantage. Cultivation. Something that had been lost for thousands of years had resurfaced at the time it was in greatest needs. The art of training the body through martial arts. And this was not normal training. Cultivation with martial arts didn''t make you a bit stronger and look like some bodybuilder. No, not only was it able to let you live a bit longer, it also could make you many time stronger than normal and lift a human to the physical level of the other close combat specialized races. But even though humanity had all this advantages and even recovered a big part of the lost land, there were still big losses even amongst their armies and these losses lead to a broken balance between the nations that had allied with each other. Soon some nations like Russia and England that had been at the very front of the fights and had the biggest losses, became weaker than their counterparts USA, the European Union and the Arabian countries. The nations that had considerable low losses and still possessed bountiful resources started to absorb the countries the countries with used up recourses and the alliance broke up with war unfolding within the humans themselves. Because of this multiple weaker nations lost their strong backers and also fell to the ''Others'', while the stronger nations were now fighting with both themselves and the ''Others''. In the end the whole thing stabilized into a frail stalemate between humans and the other races. Humanity was fighting within themselves, but so did the other races and humanities advantage in weaponry and other necessary resources for waging war made it possible for them to stand their ground even though they were not united. In the end all this events led to certain areas in that law had completely been lost and that couldn''t really be considered to be under the nation¡¯s control. Areas like the city from before. Here men could strive to achieve their own ambitions. Standing in midst of the street Dan and Jake chatted for some time before moving again. Suddenly¡. "Careful!" Shock was deep inside of Jake''s eyes as he yelled. Behind Dan one of the originally ''dead'' enemies suddenly moved and took the AK (Kalashnikov) into both hands and aimed at Dan. "Die you faggot!" He pulled the trigger. Dozens of bullets were fired into Dan''s direction. But they did not hit Dan. Two man that have been standing some distance behind him had multiple bullets pierce into them and fell dead to the ground, but Dan who had been standing in front of them a moment ago had disappeared. Splash. Blood tainted the ground and the man with the AK fell down his head rolling over the ground. Behind him stood Dan wryly smiling as he took out a cloth and cleaned the bloody knife in his hand. Calling over to the man that had reported to him earlier and was now shocked staring at the bloody scene that had appeared out of nothing. "You over there. Fix the causality count, it''s five now. As for the rest check out if this bastards are really dead. I will be very disappointed if this happens again today." Chapter 2 Cultivation Hi chapter two! Chapter 2 Cultivation Chapter 2 " ''key let''s go, we still have to get the reports done today." After this small ''accident'' Dan and Jake didn''t bother staying and watch the cleaning of the corpses in the streets. They just turned around and left, leaving all the work to the other men of Emperor''s Rule. "This is the third right?" "So, three more to go." ¡. "Jake?" Dan suddenly asked. "Hm?" "How long?" "?" Jake didn''t understand what Dan meant. "How long till you reach the peak of level three?" Dan''s eyes were serious as he looked over to Jake. The other only sighed. "Instantly getting serious, hmm. " ¡. Two months, in two months I should reach the peak. After this I will need half a year to prepare and then I can attempt the soul stage." They were speaking about cultivation. One of the big advantages humanity had over the other races. Cultivation was the art of training one¡¯s body through martial arts and surpassing the boundaries of human beings. It is wide spread amongst the human nations and almost every young boy is send to a cultivation school to learn a martial art and a cultivation technique to train with. These techniques contain particular sets of movements that, once executed, had the ability to train a human body and even change the DNA of one¡¯s cells. No one knew how it worked, but somehow it could optimize the human genetics and even change parts of it. Of course there were different cultivation techniques with different paces in cultivation and even side effects that could appear with cultivation. These side effects were called initiate skills and only belonged to the specific cultivation technique. Generally the cultivation techniques with faster cultivation paces would also have a initiate skill and were considered superior to other cultivation techniques without initiate skills. Because of this cultivation techniques were separated into superior and average grade, depending on the speed that it allowed to cultivate with and the initiate skill it could provide. Also while cultivating, humans would reach certain stages that would represent a certain degree of powers and training. First there was the body stage with it''s three levels. Body stage level one was the stage most people who only occasionally cultivate in their free time were at. They were already almost two times as powerful as a person who did not cultivate and they would be much healthier in their later years. Body stage level two was already rare. Only people that had quite a bit of talent and had trained for more than thrice a week could reach this stage. They were four times as strong as a person who did not cultivate and two times as strong as a cultivator on the first level. Also they could easily live over a hundred years and live a healthy life. Body stage level three was already a level only talented people could dream to reach. There were only about 10000 of them in the whole entirety of the EU and only about a million in the whole world. They were eight times as strong as a normal person and would live over 120 years at least. People at this level would certainly be scouted by the government and invited into the army getting good positions and a lot of money. Compared with normal citizens they were already the upper three percent. This was the level of Jake and Dan. In the whole city of Surn it was the absolute peak, the highest level experts that had ever appeared here. Altogether there were only about ten to twelve of them in the city and each was an extreme expert that could easily create a own fraction. Of course there were much stronger experts in bigger cities and nations, but in this relatively big city this was the peak of all. After the body stage is the soul stage. It is only one step from body stage level three to soul stage level one, but the difference was bigger than heaven and earth. This was because only 100 individuals in the whole EU with it''s more than one billion citizens were at this level. Cultivators at the first soul stage level were 20 times as strong as a normal person would most certainly live over 200 years and were highly sought after. Once found by the government they would get exceedingly high positions and huge amounts of money. They¡¯re what are considered as top class soldiers in the world. Above that came the level two soul stage that was 50 times as powerful as a human and live about 300 hundred years. There were only three individuals in the world that had reached this degree yet and they represented one of the countries strongest weapons giving them a huge support. As for level three soul stage and above up until now there had been no one reaching that level yet. "How long till you reach soul stage?" Jake suddenly asked back. "Guess it will be about two months." "¡. you¡ are really insane." "Yep I am." Seeing that Jake stared at him Dan could only smile. There were two reasons why someone like Jake, a level three expert would follow him. After all Jake himself was more than powerful enough to create an own powerful faction, by only depending on his own personal power! The first reason was that both Jake and Dan knew each other for about six years now and had long since become best friends with each other, unwilling to fight each other. If both created their own factions there would be no other way, but to fight each other till death and there was no way they would want to do this. But the second reason was actually much more important. It was really simple¡. Dan was simply stronger then Jake! Not only had Dan already reached the apex of the level, having a stronger cultivation then Jake, he also possessed something that made him much stronger than an average level three expert: an initiate skill! His cultivation technique was actually a superior one and provided Dan with an initial skill that made him stronger then a normal level three expert. After all superior cultivation techniques were rare and their preciousness made it impossible to simply buy one for money. It was this initiate skill that placed Dan above the other level three experts and made him one of the most powerful people in the city! _____________________________ Three hours later Dan and Jake entered a slightly bigger house in another district. Passing two guards equipped with guns at the entrance that respectful saluted to them, they walked through a hallway and a staircase and finally reached a single, red door. Another guard that looked like some bodybuilder opened the door and Dan and Jake entered a spacious room. It had three windows leading to the back yard of the building that filled the room with the sunlight of the afternoon sun. In the middle of the room was one long, skillfully decorated table with twelve chairs placed around it. Ten men were already sitting around the table and stood up as soon as Dan and Jake entered. The majority was between 20 and 20 years old with only two of them more then 40 years old. Many of them had scars going through their faces and each of them had a cold calmness to them as they all stood and looked towards Dan. The later could only grin. "Sit down you bad Hollywood actors. If you really were this respectful to me all the time I would have to fucking beat up one of you every week to show you who is the boss." For a moment silence spread through the room. Then laughter started to break out. The formerly serious and disciplined men fell back into their seats and laughed. "Fuck this¡.. Dan every time we try to make a good impression on the guys outside and make a better impression on them you have to do things like this! How do you expect us to be professional and be respected by our men if you keep making entrances like this?" Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. One of the younger men sitting close to the head of the table said while suppressing his smile. Dan just shook his head as he took his place at the head of the table, Jake sitting down next to him. "Ok stop already, I know it''s hard, but let''s get over this dry talk as soon as possible and start having fun." The atmosphere turned serious again and the laughter stopped after a few more seconds. The members sitting inside of the room looked towards Dan expecting him to start the meeting. The 10 men in this room were the core of Dan''s Emperor¡¯s Rule Faction and each of them was extremely loyal to him. The things discussed in meetings with them present were all important and had enormous influence on the faction and the whole city "Ok guys, this is the third district in Surn, our Emperor''s Rule Faction has taken over up till now. Out of our five hundred men we have lost three and a few more are currently unable to fight. They South district we have taken over is calm right now. What''s the situation in the North and Outer district?" The city Dan was living in was called Surn, a city located on the edge between the European Union, the Arabian alliance and the eastern territories occupied by the ''Others''. Because of it¡¯s closeness to the front lines it had been abandoned by the government of the EU and became lawless, a place where many faction fought for the control over it. Because of these fights, the city had been divided into different districts that were occupied by different powers. There was the outer district encompassing the entire suburbs and the smaller settlement close to the city. It had the biggest area, but also represented the smallest part of the city¡¯s population. The rest of the city that was surrounded by the outer district was split into five smaller districts of whom each had about the same size and population. The north, the east, the west, the south and the central district. These were the areas where the biggest part of the population and the biggest business was located and also the areas that had the most frequent fights. Each faction in the city tried to get the control over one of the inner districts and get money from the business there, but most could only hold themselves for a short time before getting killed by another faction or alliance of multiple factions that felt threatened by the other. Because of this the balance of power inside of the city was constantly shifting while the outer district was mostly stable due to it''s unpopularity. And this was why Dan had chosen it as it''s base. He had started out in the outer districts, building up his own troops and taking control over it. Slowly he had accumulated more and more troops and as he was a powerful cultivator many powerful experts were willing to follow him, boosting his power in a short time. In just one year he had become the unshakable overlord over the outer district with a force of over five hundred men and a lot of powerful experts within his troops. Comparing to other factions they only managed to control their districts in the inner city for a few weeks. He had more than three times their numbers and fighting potential. Of course he wasn''t contended only with the outer district. One year after he had emerged and taken over the outer district he attacked the northern district eliminating the Green Scorpion faction that had the control over it and also taken ruler over his second district. And now, three months later he had also taken over the south district now controlling the outer district as well as two of the inner districts, becoming the faction with the most districts in the city. Of course this was bound to attract the attention of the other two factions that remained within the city. The Death Crown Faction controlling the west district and the Kings Sanctuary controlling the eastern and central district. Especially the Kings Sanctuary that had been the strongest faction in the city up till now would surely feel threatened by the newly emerged super faction that had one more district than them. Also there weren''t only the big factions controlling districts. Within the inhabitants of the districts there were many small scaled gangs and factions that were too weak to take over a district and kept in the shadows, but even though they were weak, most of the factions that had control over a district had started off as one of these small gangs and only grown over time to reach their current strength. Each faction with control over a district had to constantly keep an eye on these small factions and suppress them from early on to prevent any trouble. This was why Dan asked about the situation in the two districts that had already been under his control for some time. After all looking at how often the rulers of a district changed it was obvious that this suppression wasn''t perfect. After hearing Dan''s question one of the two men who were over 40 stood up. He had short brown beard and wore a tidy black suit. All in all he didn''t really look like a fighter, but rather like someone that was used to give orders. And this image was mostly correct. This elderly man was the person Dan had handled the management of the outer and northern district "Dan, the outer district is fine, they have been under our control for quite some time and as you have been a good ruler, most people over there like you and support you. The probability that someone will start making trouble over there is almost nil. Of course in case we still have men located over there to keep things under control and avoid any unnecessary trouble. As for the northern district, there have been a few small gangs trying to make trouble, but we have more than a hundred men over there and three level two body stage experts are positioned there. The trouble was quickly taken care of and for now it doesn''t seem that there will be any new guys trying their out their luck." Having made his report the man sat down again. "Thank you Rean." Having heard the report Dan turned to another man, a young man with blonde hair and an annoying happy face. "Mike, what¡¯s with the Kings Sanctuary in the central and western district and the death crown in the eastern?" Mike also stood up his hair swirling around him. "Well, Death crown is in chaos at the moment, their leader has died a few days ago and now there are multiple guys with quite a bit of influence trying to take over his place. Let''s be blunt, the death crown faction is destroying itself right now. They are no threat to us and in fact we should take this chance and take over the east district from them before the Kings Sanctuary does it. As for the later, as you might guess they are preparing to attack the east district and get even with us. But other than this they seem to have trouble in their own territories, it seems that some smaller factions have banded together and creates trouble for them." With this his report was also made and he also sat down. Dan closed his eyes for a moment. "Well, if this is all¡.." The men nodded. "I can finally get home and calm my sister¡¡.." Everyone Nodded. "Good luck boss." "Hope you survive, we will have a hard time without you!" ____________________________________ "These bastards!" Complaining Dan looked back on the headquarters of Emperor''s Rule. He couldn''t believe that these guys were this heartless. After all it was¡. his sister!!!! Chapter 3 Chapter 3, chapter 4 coming later this evening! Chapter 3 Ya Fucker Chapter 3 "Soooo, where have you been?" Dan shrank back as he saw the vicious smile that had spread all over the young woman''s face. Right in front of him was the most feared person in the entire outer district, a person even the strongest expert in Emperor''s rule feared¡. his sister!!! "S-sis, calm down ok?" Dan slowly spoke trying to calm his sister down. But even though he was trying to get over all this without causing too much of a hassle, he was pretty sure that his sister wouldn''t rest before she thoroughly lectured him. In fact he could only pray that she would at least stay relatively quiet and not wake the neighbors. But despite his fears it actually came different. His sister gave him a strange look before sighing. "Come in, time for food." Dan could only stare at her back as she already turned around and left for the hallway without looking back. "Is she ill? Maybe I should call a doctor?!" Dan mumbled before taking of his shoes and also entering the hallway. _____________________ "She wasn''t ill¡..!" He had been too optimistic. Even though his sister hadn''t started any riot at the entrance to the house, as soon as he had entered the kitchen, the gruesome event began. Three hours. Three hours of lecturing and yelling, talking about manners and the impoliteness to let a young woman wait. In the end even Dan had to admire his sister to have so much stamina to continue like this for entire three hours without even showing signs of tiring down. Only now, three o''clock in the night had he finally managed to escape and lock himself in his room. By the way, the door to his room was a former Tresor-door¡.. Now he was sitting cross-legged inside of his room and calmed himself down. Closing his eyes, his body loosened up as his breathing softened. Slowly all of his body functions were slowed down as his mind went into a strange state. He stayed like this for about half an hour. Then he suddenly opened his eyes again and stood up. "Sigh~ too late to cultivate today, I will do it tomorrow, only have to be careful to not upset her again." As soon as he walked to his bed that was located in the left corner of the room and laid down onto it he already fell into a deep sleep. _______________________________ The next few days were all spend in a very relaxing manner as there were no further fights and Dan slowly fell back into his ordinary life. The morning as well as the day was spent together with Jake or other high rank members of Emperor''s Rule. They visited various merchants, made alliances with powers in their new territory and showed presence in the newly occupied southern district. Furthermore he had to maintain relations with some powerful experts in all districts, experts that hadn''t entered any faction yet and could get handy in dangerous times. Of course as they didn''t belong to Dan''s forces they also could become a potential danger for him and his faction, once they choose to cut off any ties with them and enter another faction becoming their enemy. Because of this Dan always had to pay close attention to these experts and make sure that they stayed out of their conflicts. These were the mornings and afternoons, as for the evenings, once it was past 8 o''clock Dan didn''t dare to exit the house. After all there was still this ''being'' that would thoroughly trash him once he was come home late. Other than wasting time together with his sister and occasionally watching news on TV he spend the whole evening and most of the night cultivating and training his martial arts skills. For hours he repeated the mysterious movements and postures, feeling power rush throughout his entire body and slowly changing it. This continued for some more days until Sunday. Dan was just walking home, next to him a small playground with kid playing football on it, as suddenly his headset began to ring. Taking the call Dan turned up the volume. "..s.jkiht Dan fucking get to the south district. We''ve got trouble mate , big time!" The call abruptly canceled. Dan was a both a bit annoyed and stunned. Annoyed because of the sudden call and the trouble that was coming at him, stunned because of the abrupt canceling of the call. What could cause Jake, a level three expert to cancel a call? Fuck this guy could be on a battlefield and still relaxed take calls! Cursing Dan had to turn away from the playing kids and took up speed. Making a jump he took an arc in the air and finally continued his sprint on the roofs of the houses. The tiles on the roof fell down as he sped over them at 80 km/h. "What''s up over there? I though Death crown in the west district was falling apart?" "Right. Fuck, some crazy guy appeared in the west district, killing the guys that were fighting for the position of the next boss and took over the whole faction. Now they are attacking us in the south district. I can defend for now, but if this goes on we will all die before the next morning! There are multiple level two body stage mates here and even Ries and Kell have come, but it seems that the new boss of death crown is even more powerful than you! Right now he doesn''t really move, but once he does we are all dead, so move you fat ass over here, or I will come back to haunt you as a ghost!" Dan already started running again. This time he really was in trouble. A new person that was even more powerful than him, someone who potentially had a superior cultivation techniques and an initial skill, one more in town was dangerous for both his fraction and even himself. Of course there were multiple people in the city that were at least as powerful, if not stronger than him. But this people were either allies, neutral or at least he hadn''t offended them to the point of starting a war. After all even experts at his level had to be careful if fighting against multiple men. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Most experts on his level wouldn''t want to suffer any losses because of avoidable fights and rather hold back and observe the others next steps then charge right into the enemy and suffer. "Jake shut up, pull back a bit and wait a minute I''m already on my way to you. Also call all men over here and let them build up defenses. The calm and peaceful days are over mate and now there is no more stepping back!" Ending the chat Dan took out his mobile, quickly making a call. "Jess, Dan here, meeting in three hours. Also get Kun that old bastard and call your guys together. ¡ Yes big trouble so speed up a bit." "Mr. Leaner, yea Dan here. We are taking your offer. Send us the new equipment as soon as possible." "¡ I know you have other things¡. FUCK GET HERE OR I WILL COME TO YOU AND GET YOU HERE MYSELF!" "Ya ol'' guy get your dogs here and tell Sean to fucking get out of the hole he calls home¡" "Yea sis, I''ll be back late today, have stuff to take care of¡. by the way get the Gatling Gun out of the garage." " YOU HAVE PROBLEMS? MIKE YOU WANNA TELL ME YOU HAVE TO MUCH WORK? FUCK I HAVE PROBLEMS AND IF YOU ARENT HERE IN A FEW MINUTES I WILL GO AND FUCK YOUR PARENTS FROM BEHIND!" In the short distance between his position and the border to the western district, Dan made multiple calls, making a deals and calling together allies and troops from all over the city. Now all the relation maintaining paid off. There were many men in the city that had deep connections to him, merchants, dojo masters, martial experts. All of them where in some way indebted to him and now is the time to get them to repay old favors. Shots were falling from all sides, followed with explosions of grenades and anti tank missiles. Houses were riddled with holes and tiles were falling down onto the street. Houses lost parts of their walls as result of sudden explosions and the whole street already destroyed to the point where cars would not be able to drive them any time soon. A brown house on the edge of two streets crossing each other suddenly blew up. Flames roared up to the sky lighting up the evening sky. Rubbles flew across the street crushing both men and cars and slamming into the already tattered buildings. Ultimately only a few bricks and the back wall were left of the three storey building. This was no small shooting between some gangs or mafia groups. No simple exchange of bullets and some dead bodies. This was a full-fledged war between two powerful factions trying to destroy each other! On Dan''s side, the houses in the vicinity had been evacuated and now his men were using them as defenses to shoot from. The polished barrels of rifles and guns were lurking out of the windows and from the sides as they fired one bulled after another. The Death Crown troops on the other side were using the various cars and house fronts as cover while firing bullets, of whom most only hit a wall and left a small hole inside of the stone. Of course there were still casualties and on both side there were multiple men either dead or injured. Cars exploded occasionally and a lucky bullet hit right into the target adding to the death count. But this was only the main part of the whole war. Up, on the roofs, above the regular men¡¯s heads there was another battle fought. A battle of martial experts! Multiple dozen figures were flashing around, changing from one house''s roof to another firing bullets or swinging both blades and daggers. Man against man, one on one. This was a square fight unlike the one down under their feet. Using their own skill they tried to kill the other getting an advantage and ultimately reaching the others foot troops and create major damage. A young man, short black hair, a green military jacket jumped, reaching behind another man in five meters height and swung the short dagger he had in his left hand. At the same time he pulled the trigger of the short machine gun in his right hand firing a shower of bullets onto a third man that was closing in trying to save his comrade. Blood splashed as a head fell down onto the ground, smashing into a bloody pulp. The now headless body still remained in the air for another moment before ultimately also falling down and becoming a big pit of blood, organs and gore. The other man that had been closing in to help the dead one was hit by a bullet and had to withdraw holding his right leg. Blood flowed out of a small hole in his brown pants. The black haired young man on the other side landed on both feet making a small slash with his dagger to get the blood of his dagger. Then he looks up and briefly observes the fights around him. Right now the fight between the experts of both sides was pretty balanced with both sides having lost about half a dozen of their low level experts and only one or two of the middle leveled experts. As for the high leveled experts, they were really too hard to kill and up till now not a single one had been killed. Boom, a grenade explodes next to the black haired man. Using his arms to protect his body the man is blown back and rolls over the roof before falling down. Dan reacted instantly. Using all the energy in his body his muscles suddenly contracted and started to work. He disappeared from the place he had been before, accelerating to 120 km/h in less than a second and appearing next to the dropping figure of the black haired man. Grabbing him he uses the wall as ground and jumps up onto the roof. This was Dan''s peak speed he used while fighting. He couldn''t sustain it for longer periods, but if used while fighting he was able to kill almost every person without even being seen. In fact this speed was one of the things that made him as a peak level three expert this scary and powerful compared to many other level three experts. He was able to kill many other experts without them even being able to react. The black haired man glared at Dan. "Ya fucker. What took you this long?" It was Jake. Chapter 4 Death Crown As promised chapter 4! Chapter 4 Death crown "Caught you princess." Dan grinned as he looked down onto Jake. The other only snorted before moving and jumping out of Dan''s grip. Together they now stood at the roof of the building, surrounded by the other experts of both sides fighting each other. Of course their small escapade didn''t remain unnoticed and as soon as they had gotten onto the roof a few figures had already started charging at them. It was two men and one woman with various differing equipment. The woman was equipped with a long black blade, resembling the Katana of ancient samurai while the two men were had either a pair of about 30 centimeter long knives or a regular gun. The man with the gun immediately aimed at the pair of Dan and Jake and started firing, missing Dan and Jake only by a small margin. At the same time the woman with the long blade jumped into the air, lifting herself 5 meter above the ground and fell towards Dan and Jakes direction. The other side reacted completely calm and unhesitating. Dan¡¯s body suddenly blurred before he completely disappeared from his former spot while Jake took his gun and aimed at the descending woman with her long blade. He pulled the trigger and a single shot hit right between the woman''s brows. In the same moment Dan reappeared next to the gun wielding man and a long needle appeared in his hand. His legs made complicated movements as he flashed behind the man, wrapped his arm around his head and stabbed the 20 centimeter long needle right through the other ear. Loosening his grip the gun wielder fell to the ground just like a sack of potatoes. Blood streamed from his right ear and made a small puddle around his head. Two corpses were lying in a distance of 5 meters from each other and what was more, they were killed in less than two seconds! Two were down, one remained. The last surviving double knife wielder trembled as he disbelievingly stared at Dan and Jake. He was completely unable to understand what had happened. They were three level two experts, a team that had even slain quite a lot level three experts, but this two men easily killed two of them in a few seconds. Looking at this the last man could easily guess just who these two men in front of him were. "You¡¯re Dan the blood demon!" As the knife wielder was still shuddering, unable to accept how his two friends had died, Jake had already crossed the 10 or so meters between them and his short dagger glittered in his right hand. Slash. A line appeared at the man''s throat and blood splashed onto the ground. One last corpse fell to the ground. Making a quick motion, Jake got rid of the blood on his dagger. "Ok where is this super strong guy?" Dan asked pulling his clothes straight. Jake pointed to a house on the other side of the street. "That house over there. He has only appeared once while the battle, killing three men, two level two experts and one level three. After this he pulled back and entered the building not leaving it till now. As for why I know that he is a monster like you. Who else is able to kill three experts, including a level three expert in less than 10 seconds?" "Who was killed?" Dan''s voice grew cold as he spoke. Of course in war people were bound to die and Dan was long since accustomed to the death of his comrades, but the loss of three experts, furthermore one level three expert was still hurting him quite deeply. "Jean, Leon,¡and Josh." Dan desolately nodded. Then he turned. "Are the men here the only ones fighting?" In the area where the fighting was going on, there were only about two hundred men on his side and three hundred men on Death Crown''s. Considering that both had more than two times more troops it was obvious that either side wasn''t fighting with all resources. "Yes, the others are busy, I ordered them to start building defenses." Jake explained. "Ok, 3 minutes. I will go and check this guy out. In three minutes you blow up the whole street and kill as many of them as possible. After this retreat to Mensen Street and defend. Build up defenses for long time fights and organize shifts for the men. This is nothing that will reach conclusion in near future. Also don''t limit on the west border, reinforce the defenses and quarters in every district and distribute our men." Dan glanced at the grey building, the others supreme expert was supposed to be located in. He turned to Jake. "Don''t forget, three minutes." His eyes met with Jake''s. He nodded. Dan grinned and without further ado he went a few steps to the edge of the roof and jumped. Falling a few meters his body blurred and he disappeared before reaching the ground. Jake sighed. "Why is it always me who has to give orders?" Turning around he turned on his headset. "Guys, three minutes. Then we blow up this party." __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Inside of the gray building. The whole house was brimming with guards. On every door, every hall way, every stair case there are two or three men with AK''s and small guns grimly staring around themselves. The whole security of the place was completely exaggerated considering that there was a powerful expert in the building. After all, if even the newly emerged expert was unable to protect himself against the enemy, what use would some ordinary men with machine guns be against a fiend they wouldn''t even be able to see? Dan could only snort as he observed this circus as he sped through the hallways, unseen by anyone. He felt that this was totally useless and foolish. After all if all of these men were killed by the sudden appearance of an expert it would be a major loss for the whole faction! This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. Either way he couldn''t be bothered to kill the poor guards that could not even sense him as he walked around them. He was here to check out the strength of this expert that had suddenly appeared and other than this he had no wish to stay in this building longer than necessary. He still had one meeting this evening and not yet got home today. The tantrum his sister would make when he would come home was something he didn''t even want to imagine. Adding the time to kill the hundred plus men in the house onto his already filled timetable was something he rather wanted avoid. Crossing one last corridor and quickly putting the two guards at the door to sleep he stood before the most central room in the whole building. He didn''t even have to search for this place. The whole construction of the guarding system and the architecture of the building already made it obvious that this was the place the other expert was waiting¡. for him. All these guards, all the hints, everything in this house was meant to lead him to this one room and to the person that wanted to meet him. All of this was just a stage the other guy had set up to check him out, to test him and see what kind of character he was. He could only sigh to himself. Why is it that suddenly everything had gotten so complicated? He wished that he could go back to the times were he had just been some insignificant gang leader with big dreams, but nothing but himself to make them true. These times had been carefree, uncomplicated times that would never come again. Dan knew that the further he went, the harder it would become to find the peace and the simplicity of these times. Without any further wait he put his thoughts aside and pushed open the door. In front of him was a big room, 30 meters long and 20 meters wide, judging by the arrangement of the many tables and chairs in it as well as the dimension of the room it probably was used as a conference room. But this was before, now there were the figures of multiple men in the room. The dim light of the lamps that were hanging on the walls was reflecting in the barrels of the guns and AK¡¯s they were holding. It were about 10 men, some standing at the sides, their rifles in both hands, while others were just chatting with each other, not seeming to fit into the atmosphere created by the guarded building. On the side opposite to the door, there was one man sitting on a chair looking down onto the long table and seeming to be in thoughts. As Dan pushed open the door, he suddenly lifted his gaze and a dangerous light glittered in his eyes. His lips curved into a vicious smile. The guards on the sides as well as the chatting men naturally also noticed the opening of the door and instantly almost a dozen weapons were aimed at Dan who was standing in the door. He didn''t seem to notice the men around him and the weapons aimed at his body, ready to riddle him full of holes. His gaze was completely focused on the men on the other side of the room. Other than their increase in power, speed and mental capabilities there was one additional thing that cultivators were able to do. They were able to determine another person''s cultivation level and stage. They could see it with their eyes. It was like a halo surrounding each cultivator and that became brighter the further they cultivated. A normal person wouldn''t shine at all, while a level one cultivator would have a light shine to him. Further than this the shine would turn into a glow that would become brighter and brighter the higher the level of the person was. The people around Dan only radiated a faint glow in his eyes, with only a few of them being a bit brighter. They were only level one, or at most level two cultivators, nothing special. As for the man sitting opposing to Dan, he was like a bright light in the darkness. The halo surrounding him was multiple times brighter than the other men¡¯s and Dan could clearly tell that the halo surrounding him was about the same as the man''s. "So you are the new guy from Death crown?!" Dan said, more confirming then asking. "And you are the supreme level three leader of Emperor¡¯s Rule Dan, right?" The vicious smile only became even colder as the man spoke to Dan. The men around them were shocked. This was Dan? The man in front of them was Dan, the leader of Emperor¡¯s Rule? Wasn''t this a bit too overwhelming of a situation? Fear reflected in their eyes as the stared at Dan. There were many stories about Dan and the fights he had fought with other factions and each was horrifying to hear. Men were killed, head''s fell from the sky and blood rained like water. Confronted with a famou-, no infamous figure like Dan, who had a long history in Surn city, how couldn''t they become nervous and even fear for their lives? The grips on their weapons only tightened as they were unsure what to do. If they just waited until Dan started moving and slaughtered them like pigs there was no way for them to survive, but even if they started firing at him now, could they really hit him? Desperation was visible in their faces. No matter what they did, wouldn''t it just end in their death? The other expert that was still peaking with Dan, noticed the situation. "Fools, put down your freaking weapons! You wouldn''t achieve anything anyway." Viciously he added. "Also even if he doesn''t kill you for attacking him, I certainly will. He is mine and not someone you could dream about fighting." The men looked to their boss, shaken by the viciousness he displayed. But in the end they only hesitated for a second before putting down their weapons. It was a fact, Dan was not someone they could even hope to contend against. The sound of weapons falling to the ground filled the room. Chapter 5 Ricks Hi guys, chapter 5 is out! If you have any ideas to improve this novel or anything you wanna tell me, write into the comments. Chapter 5 Ricks Dan couldn''t help but lift his brow hearing the words of the Death crown leader. It seemed that this fellow expert didn''t even care for the lives of his subordinates and only saw them as mere tools to use. it made him feel troubled, as this kind of people, this madmens were the most troublesome. They didn''t care about any problems their moves could cause to anyone except themselves. They couldn''t be pressured throught their faction and they practically had no open weakness to strike against. They were practically beasts, monsters that only cared for success and rise in their own martial power. Shifting his attention back to Dan, the man suddenly seemed to have remembered something. "Oh, how impolite of me. I haven''t introduced myself yet, have I? You, you are already a name in the city. Dan, the Emperor of Devils. Dan the blood demon. Mighty names indeed! The Ruler over the outer city and nemesis of thousands. Hundreds have died at your hand and more will follow. Awe inspiring, truly! Your name echoes throught the whole city and everyone will freeze under it''s might. But I, I''m still unknown to you and the other guys in the city, right? My humble name is Ricks Jellen. Future ruler over this beautiful city and strongest fighter that ever existed in this part of the country, It''s a pleasure to meet you." A grin escaped the man''s lips as he made a courteous bow that could if anything only taken as sarcasm or insult to anyone. The ambition hidden inside of his words, as well as the hidden meaning made Dan tense up and anger well up within him. Standing on the other side, his eyes became sharp. He was quite sure what this man, Ricks Jellen intended with all this and no matter how he saw it, it wasn''t good for him. The ambitions this man had were dangerous, dangerous to him and any other person in this city! Not keeping up any of the ''politeness'' Ricks had shown him he kicked his tongue. "Drop the shit talk and get to the point. Why has your Death Crown attacked my Emperor''s rule? I don''t remember to ever have a conflict with you in the past!" Dan''s blunt advance didn''t surprise Ricks in the least. "So no more acting? Fine with me! You know why I''m here, to test out the person that is called strongest in Surn city and to eliminate this group of kids that is called Emperor''s rule. I will show this fools that there is only one strongest in this city. Me! Also why so surprised? We both know that there is no need for any explanations or reasons for a war between fractions. Eat or being eaten. You and your faction are an eventual obstacle I will have to get rid of anyway. So why not kill you and show the world what I, the boss of Death Crown is cable of? Never offended? No conflict? Who cares! What matters is this city and the opportunity to rule it!" "So you want to tell me that you have to get rid of Emperor''s Rule to get control over Surn city?" Dan asked. "Exactly! Killing you, the most famous martial artist, the most feared cultivator in the whole city, what could be better to establish my own reputation in this city?" It was as Dan had feared. Ricks was the kind of person that had a dream, an ambition to fullfil and was fully controlled by it. Someone that becomes a monster in order to fullfil his own desires. Someone just like himself. Well not entirely, there was one difference. He wanted to create and leave behind. His dream was to leave something in this world, to build up fame that would carry his name into the future and don''t let it fall into oblivion. Ricks on the other side only surpressed, killed and didn''t allow anything to exist other then himself. He didn''t care about the future, to him only the present played any importance. For this goal he would do everything, kill everyone, give up on everything he builds up in his live. For him things like factions, troops, friends and even lovers didn''t matter as long as they didn''t boosted his own, personal strenght. This kind of person, Dan despised him. Nevertheless he continued, suppressing his urge to get away from this hateful person. He suddenly straightened up his face hardening. A faint feel of disgust was visible in his cold grey eyes. "Then what are you waiting for?" He was here for one reason, to check out this newly emerged thread. Reasoning was useless, so why hesitate? Ricks wordlessly got up from his chair. "I wonder¡ why was I even waiting?" Swoosh. Simultanously both their bodies started to work, muscles contracted and expanded as they blurred. Two blurry figures, only barley seen by the few level two experts, flashed through the room meeting in it''s middle. A clang echoed throught the room as two metallic objects collided with each other. Mid air Dan and Ricks were confronting each other, both pairs of eyes focused on the others face. Between them, a 20 cm steel needle and a 30 cm black titanium knife slashed against each other, trembling under the greate forces that both sides put into the attack. They stayed like this for a brief moment before Dan retracted his steel needle and making a strange movement technique reached behind Ricks, his needle aiming at the others spine, more specifically at the small gaps between each vertebrae . One successful blow against this place would at least cripple, if not kill the other. Naturally Ricks reacted to this by shifting his body to the side and also using a movement technique to fully turn around. His black titanium knife reached the steel needle and slammed it away, keeping it from it''s body. At the same time he used his momentum and threw a kick against Dan''s back. The other quickly used his arms to block, but still was blown away. His body uncontrollable made a small ark through the air before he managed to turn around and get a hold with his legs. Once again he blurred, his leg that was making a step forward suddenly disappearing. He, as well as Ricks were using movement techniques to accelerate themselves and freely move mid air. This techniques were the same as cultivation techniques, ancient techniques that had been forgotten for hundreds of years, but reappeared together with the appearance of the ''Others''. They normally just accompanied the cultivation manual a person was using and were practised alongside the cultivation technique. With this movement techniques cultivators above a certain level could use the movements of their legs to make use of natural laws like air resistance, friction and even gravity to move in the air, change directions and even ''walk'' on the air. Of course this also had a downside. The use of this technique was very taxing on the body and quickly tired a person. Because of this only experts at the third level of the body stage were able to efficiently use them in battle as anyone else woudln''t be able to sustain it for more then a few moments. Using his own movement technique Dan was once again rapidly closing in onto Ricks and his steel needle hissed throught the air as he threw it onto Ricks. The other easily deflected the flying weapon and also blurred as his legs executed the strange movements. "Good movement technique!" Ricks mocking prise reached Dan''s ears. Then they once again met in the air. "Shut up and fight!" A second needle, similar to the first one appeared in Dan''s right hand. This time he didn''t tried to attack Ricks from behind like he did before. Instead he started attacking from the front slashing and stabbing with his needle. Ricks easily evaded all the attacks, dodging and blocking some and started counterattacking with his knife. A blow came, was evaded and related. A stab almost reached the belly before blocked by a knife. Hundreds of attacks were exchanged in seconds and thought each was vicious and aimed at the others live, none succeeded. Seeing that not a single of his attacks succeeded Dan suddenly changed his attack pattern. A second needle appeared in his hands and he began to attack different parts of Ricks body. Up till now he had focused at the lethal parts of the body, the lungs, the throat, the eyes, the hearth, the guts all places that would be a one shot once he made a single hit against them. But now he changed this. He avoided the heavily guarded lethal points and slashed against the wrist, the arms and the legs, trying to affect the others movements. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. Noticing the others change of attack pattern, Ricks naturally also reacted and tried to defend against this attacks while still not leave any lethal part of his body unprotected. But as the range of attacks had suddenly grown much larger he didn''t manage to completely avoid every single attack aiming at his body and soon blood flowed from his left wrist and leg. But as this applied to Ricks, it also did on Dan and he too had suffered quite a few small scratches and injuries from the counterattacks thrown by Ricks. ------------------------------------ At the same time. Southern district. Jake was directing some men with boxes to a part of a street. "Speed up ya bitches, if the other street is still standing in one minute it will be your fault!" They were on the street next to the one Dan was fighting with Ricks in and unlike the other street were shots were continuously raining down onto both sides there was no fighting in this one. Only a troop of multiple tens of men were running around carrying explosives and granates over to the houses. "Three minutes" Jake mumbled to himself. "Screw them." ------------------------------- Outer district. "Are you sure?" Mike asked into his phone. ( Mentioned in chapter 2) "¡¡.. this will be problematic¡.. yes do this. Thx." Troubled Mike, one of Emperor Rule''s big shots closed the call. Turning to the Rean ( same as Mike ) he said. "Take three hundred men and immediately fortify our borders to the eastern and central district!" ---------------------- Back to Dan vs Ricks Finally Ricks couldn''t take it anymore. With a roar he suddenly made a turn in the air and threw a roundhouse kick against Dan''s side. The later was fortunate enough to be able to use his movement technique to quickly move backwards and barley avoid the powerful kick. Ricks who suddenly seemed to have snapped and gone crazy started to laught. "I never imagined you to be this powerful. Sorry but I originally underestimated you and thought I could beat you without fighting for real, but it seems I was really wrong. So please take my apology." His eyes flickered and his expression was filled with an indescribable emotion that made even Dan feel cold sweat going down his back. "Take my apology¡ and die!" The aura around Ricks suddenly started to change. If before it could be described with the words vicious, disregarding life, dangerous and cold, it now became even colder and even evil. It was as if the temperature in the room suddenly had gone down by a few degrees and every light had been replaced with a depressing grey. But even more shocking then this sudden change in aura and it''s influence on the surrounding was what Dan saw now. The light around Ricks suddenly intensivied, becoming brighter and brighter. Soon it completely eclipsed anything Dan had ever seen before. Soul stage! This was genuine soul stage! Dan instantly reacted and retreated, sweat gathering at his body. He was completely panicked! In the same instant as Dan had started to retreat Ricks also grinned and charged forwards chasing after the retreating Dan. His speed has almost doubled compared to before and it was easy for him to catch up with Dan. His blade slashed towards Dan as his grin broadened and his eyes viciously shined. He was totally sure that he would kill Dan with this stoke of his knife. After all the difference between body stage and soul stage wasn''t just for show! But just as his blade descended upon Dan he suddenly felt mortal danger. His instincts told him to immediately get away from this spot! Without any hesitation Ricks instantly used his movement technique and seemed to disappear from his former position. But although he almost disappeared a needle managed to scrape his skin and leave a bloody mark on his shoulder. Then Ricks reappeared ten meters away holding his right arm. Shocked he stared at Dan who was still standing at his former spot, holding his wrist. Blood flowed from a one finger deep knife sound that was inflicted there. It was obvious, that even through Ricks had pulled back he still managed to at least injure Dan! But this small achievement didn''t content Ricks in the least. This was because of two reasons. First of all Dan''s wound was on the wrist. But he had aimed for the others chest! This mend that Dan actually managed to protect his body with his arm! Even if Ricks had pulled through and not retreated he would at most only have cut of the others arm! To be unable to one kill Dan despite using his whole advantage as soul stage both injured Ricks pride as expert and made him unsure about this person he was fighting. Could a level three expert really fight a soul stage expert? The thing that bothered Ricks second was his own injury. Dan had actually managed to injure him despite him pulling back. This mend that if he hadn''t reacted fast enough he would at least be seriously injured! Also this showed that in a fullout fight Dan actually was able to cripple him if he was willing to exchange his life for it! In a world were something like miraculous regrowing arms and legs didn''t appear, for an expert it was even worse to be crippled then to die! After all if they lost for example both their arms, or one arm and one leg they wouldn''t be able to fight ever again! Ricks could only shocked stare at Dan. He had throughoutly underestimated this opponent! Then he suddenly gasped. "So this is the power of your initial skill!" He suddenly exclaimed. Dan''s initial skill. It was pretty much publict knowledge that Dan was cultivating a superior cultivation technqiues and possesed a initial skill and while the normal folks didn''t know what exactly this initial skill was, most of the big brasses in Surn actually knew about it. Emperor''s eye, the ability to directly see every movement in the others body! This was Dan''s initial skill he had acquired throught his cultivation technique. It was akin to a X-ray vision he could use while fighting. He could clearly see every single muscle, the enemies heart, lung and tendons. Because of this he clearly saw any of the opponent''s lethal and weak spots, but more importantly could predict all of their movements judging from the muscles they used. In practise this mend that he could predict any attack and movement Ricks would make against him and already act in advance! Dan''s usually grey eyes now had a red shine to them. His breathing was rough and his body in a terribly condition. This one attack just now had cost him quite a lot. Even thought he had Emperor''s eye and could to some extent predict Ricks attack, it still took a lot of energy to counter in time. He gritted his teeth glancing on the clock on his other wrist. Ricks on the other side naturally also saw the state Dan was in and his frown changed into a vicious smile. "Let''s see if you can pull this of again!" Once again he vanished, his blade pointing towards Dan. But before the blade even reached Dan, the later suddenly grinned. "10" Dan instantly used every once of energy left in his body, activating his movement technique, dodging the blade and blurred. Pushing his movement technique to the max he completely vanished, leaving behind Ricks. Schwuuuuuuuu~ Blood splashed onto the wall as twelve corpses fell to the ground, their heads pierced by long steel needles. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Ricks endangered roar followed behind Dan who was already exiting the brown house. Sweat was forming beads on his forehead as he forced his legs to go full speed. His mind was full of dread. Just now, if he hadn''t reacted in time Ricks would have been able to kill him! But even as he was flustered an totally disturbed about this near death experiences he had to execute his movement technique on full speed. His mouth moved unnoticeably as he crossed the street and saw how the men on the southern side of the street quickly departed from their positions on the windows. "Three" He jumped onto a house facing the southern district. "Two" Crossing the roof he jumped, seeing a few hundred grenades being thrown into his direction. "One" He landed on the street behind the house. Booooooooom Everything behind him was swallowed in the burning flames of the explosion. Chapter 6 Trouble Hi chapter 6 is here. By the way FIVE new followers!!!!! I''M SO HAPPY. Hrm..... Sry. Eitherway enjoy! Chapter 6 Trouble "Well, we aren''t complete yet, but there is no time. So what''s the situation?" Sitting inside of the conference room located in the headquarters of Emperor¡¯s Rule in the outer district, Dan looked across the faces of the 9 men sitting around him. His voice slightly vibrated through the completely silent room. After a short moment of silence , a man, 40 years old with dirty blonde hair color stood up. His face filled seriousness and determination. At the last meeting some weeks ago he had been joking around together with the others, but now nothing was left of the jocking and carefree person, instead he moved and talked in perfect discipline, seeming just like a military officer reporting to his superior. "May I speak Sir?" He actually made a slight bow to Dan before standing by, waiting for approval from him. "You may speak Rean." Dan didn''t seem uncomfortable with the sudden change in attitude that had occurred within his closest aides. Different situations called for different approaches. Before they could act carelessly having no one to fear in the city, but now that they were in serious danger this carefree live couldn''t be kept up without risking their complete annihilation. Their enemy was strong, strong enough to completely destroy them at the smallest mistake, so instead of being all smooth and relaxed with each other they now had to clearly draw the line. They were all friends knowing each other for a long time, but right now they were at war. Friendly gestures could wait till the enemy was destroyed. After being approved by Dan, the young man called Rean first made a slight bow before continuing. "Da-, ah.. Sir, the causalities and wounded have been counted. There are six deaths, three completely disabled missing at least one leg or arm, five men are heavily injured but will be able to once again fight in a few months. 20 men are lightly injured and only need a month at most, while 32 men will be back in peak condition after a week of rest. In total there are 9 men permanently unable to fight, 25 men that will have to recover for more than a month and 32 men that are available in a week again." Despite the small mistake at the beginning caused by the newness of the whole ''military'' like order, Rean managed to cleanly get over the numbers. "Any problems with the wounded? Do we have any lack in antibiotics or medical supplies?" Without even blinking an eye about the death and injured count Dan calmly asked. "We have enough antibiotics and other medical supplies to patch up three times the men we do right now, so there is no immediate need in them, but what are we going to do with the permanently disabled as well as the death? They both have families that were depending on them and now they are dead¡." "The families of the causalities will get a support from our side, after all their man died for our cause. As for the disabled, give them a job they can easily do in their state and increase their loan. We cannot let the men that suffered for our faction face any lack of food or money, can we?" Rean once again slightly bowed as he noted the things Dan said down. "Anything else concerning the wounded?" Dan looked over to Rean and as he saw that the latter shook his head and sat down. His gaze traveled across his loyal followers. They all knew each other for years, already before Dan had even just founded the faction a year ago. Of all people they were the ones Dan trusted in the most and also the ones that he found to be the most cable. But now it was the time to test it out. After all there is the saying: A man''s true face only reveals in desperate times. How capable, how loyal and how much of friends they were, all of this would show itself in the times that were to come now. "This fight¡ it was too even. Despite us unexpectedly blowing up the whole street that time they have only lost about 30-40 men of whom I have killed 10. This means that if not for the unexpected explosions that killed at least 5 to 10 people and me who has killed 10 more, our side and their side is about evenly matched. This is bad. Really, fucking, God damn bad!" Calmly Dan strongly looked into the other men''s eyes. "You know this fight is different from anything we have fought before." The others nodded. They were used to fight other factions, to kill and get killed, but this was not comparable to fighting with someone that was supposedly as strong as their boss, a monster cable of killing half of their experts on his own. Dan continued. "But there is one thing you don''t know. This fucking son of a bastard and a bitch, ¡. he is actually stronger than me." Shock and disbelief. "This is impossible!" "If this is true.¡" "¡ then we are done for!" Multiple of the men couldn''t help but exclaim. Rean who was sitting on the right side, next to Dan could only stare is shock as he said. "He just has to come here and we are all d- "He won''t come!" Dan intercepted reassuring. "He won''t dare to come!" The whole room turned silent. "He might be stronger than me, being a soul stage expert, but he obviously hasn''t advanced for to long and isn''t completly stable in his position. He may be more powerful then me, but if counting in my initial skill the difference is not by a huge margin. In a real fight as long as I give my all I can still at least cripple him. This kind of person¡. he won''t risk it. Because of this, he won''t dare to come here!" The room fell into silence as the men comprehended the words Dan said. In this world, other then death the thing experts feared most was to be crippled. After all once crippled you could never regain your former peak strengh and in worst cases, you would become useless for the rest of your life. There was no magical medicine that could regrow your limps in this world, the only ones able to do something like this would be the races of the ''Others'' that could use their ''magic'' to even regrow limps, but as this were the mortal enemies of humanity the changes of them helping you were lower then nil. Of course the other high ranked members of Emperor''s rule also understood this. "So it isn''t as bad as we feared!" "But what are we going to do now? If the leader is the only one that can block him it will be impossible for the faction to move at all!" "This is bad! If we are unable to move others might take the change¡." Immediately chatter broke out amongst the men as they feared about their future. "Shut up ya bastards!" Suddenly Jake, sitting next to Dan broke out, instantly silencing everyone in the room. "It''s pretty fucking obvious what we are going to do now. Ya fuckers weren''t even able to beat up this Death Crown scum, so why do you even bother thinking about the rest of the city? Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. We originally wanted to wait with this ''til we have the whole city, but there is no time now. First of all we will turn our districts into fortresses, fortify all our headquarters and introduce guards and a kind of police around. We need a tight grip over the territory and the increase in order will please the inhabitants. Secondly we will start recruiting in a big style. Thirdly... Rean." Jake turned to Rean on the other side of the table. "You will be responsible for¡. ''training''. Half of our guys will be responsible for guarding the place, as for the other half, it will be starting intensive military training and rise their skills. You as a former military officer have some experience in this don''t you? Also at the same time it will be your job to get some military order into this bunch. We cannot rely on some loose groups anymore. Can you get the job done?" Rean smiled. "Of course I can. Guess the three years I had to serve were not for nought after all." He glanced at the other men on the table and his smile changed a bit. "Does the training encompass them to?" "Of course it does." Bashfully grinning Rean turned over. "I look forward to ''train'' you all!" Despite the innocence in Rean¡¯s smile all the men suddenly felt their body shudder. Dan couldn''t help but smile seeing this scene. They truly were quite a bunch. "Ok, let''s go o-" Just as he wanted to get to the next point a door suddenly opened, followed by a figure hasty entering the room. "Mike ! Where have you been?" Dan instantly recognized the man who had just entered. Mike on the other side didn''t even bother with any formalities or polite gestures. "We are in much deeper trouble then we thought!" Dan was stunned for a moment. Seeing that his good friend and aide, who had known since earliest childhood days was this moved and didn''t even bother to make any small talk before getting to the point he understood that it had to be something really big. "What happened?" Dan''s eyes became sharp as he observed Mike''s face. "King''s Sanctuary¡. has a soul stage expert!" ¡.. "FUCK!" Instantly the whole room was moved and got into a rush. "Where have all these guys suddenly come from?" "Weren''t soul stage monsters rare? How the hell can three appear here?" "First Death Crown and now this¡." More and more voices violently rumbled through the room as the men voiced their inner thoughts. Dan on the other side closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again. Making a single hand motion a cool wind suddenly brushed through the room instantly silencing anyone inside. "Details." In midst of all the agitation and excitement Dan actually managed to stay calm and ask the most important question. Mike still standing in front of the door nodded as he saw the calm and composed reaction of Dan. "Today all the small factions in the eastern territory suddenly banded together and started an attack against the Kings Sanctuary forces starting a bloodbath. The latter''s troops were completely unprepared instantly getting suppressed by the overwhelming numbers of the enemies. In fact judging by the organization of the smaller factions and the fact that they actually didn''t war amongst themselves it is highly possible that this whole thing was initiated by Death Crown." Mike made a small stop, taking a gulp of water from a glass standing on the table. "Either way, the King''s Sanctuary troops were quickly pushed back, suffering horrendous causalities. If we can trust the informants they lost about 150 men. The smaller factions already reached the headquarters when suddenly a single person came out of it. After this the information is kind of blurry. But as far as I can guess from it''s contents, the person coming out was the old Hesel. King''s Sanctuary''s leader. The survivors said that he suddenly disappeared from where he had been standing and then¡.." Mike stopped for a moment "Then what?" Dan asked his eyes growing increasingly cold. "It¡ rained blood." Everyone in the room wide-eyed stared at Mike, suspecting that it was a bad joke. Only Dan and Jake sighed as they heard this. "Is this really true?" One man at the back couldn''t help but ask. Mike already wanted to say yes, as suddenly Dan interrupted. "Yes it is, sigh~ It''s an old trick I also know." "A trick?" The man disbelieving asked. Jake answered instead of Dan. "Yes a trick, a stupid but very effective trick. You just need a small chainsaw and enough speed. The only thing you need to do is run across the first line of attackers, cleanly cutting of their heads with the mini chainsaw and if possible kick their head into the air. Blood will splash out of the cut open throats and the flying heads and to the men behind them it will seem as if it rains. It gets more effective if you also take a few guys into the air and make sushi of them there, but this is quite bothersome and most likely completely messes up your clothes." Silence¡. "This is¡. "Very brutal isn''t it?" The other men couldn''t help but shudder while imagining the scene that would be created that way. "Either way this makes it even more troublesome. I guess the guys from the smaller factions are all death?" Dan asked Mike. "Yes they are." "Then this means that there is one more soul stage expert in this city that might turn hostile towards us. But it doesn''t change anything we can only hurry up and hope that they won''t rally against us Now everything depends on how Kings Sanctuary reacts, if the ally with Death Crown we are all death. Let''s just hope they will at least stay out of this." Dan stopped for a moment. "Mike?" "Yes?" Dan glared into the others eyes. "You are in charge of the outer district. As for the things we discussed earlier, ask Jake for the specs. Mike was surprised for a moment, before slowly nodding. "You can count on me!" Rean?" "Yes!" "You are in charge of the southern district." "Yes sir!" "Jake?" "Yes!" "Stop creating trouble." "Yes,¡. eh wai-" Jake got any as he almost pounced at Dan. "Miko?" Dan turned to a man on the other side of the room. "Yes?" "Yours is the northern. To all of you, quickly build up defences and begin recruiting new men. The sooner we can boost out troops and general strengh the higher the chance that we will actually survive through all this. Ok gentlemen, our time is limited now, make the most of it. Dismissed!" Chapter 7 Mira Mates, chapter 7! Before the chapter, here a little story from RL. Well actually it is already two days old, but better late then never, right? Eitherway, currently I''m having hollidays and I''m spending them with my family in the Netherlands. My grandma also joined with us and we have an small house for two weeks. Well two days ago, it was our first day, I was on my way back from a nearby town as my father suddenly grinned. "Son, your grandma fucked up." (Dialog is a biiiiiit changed) "What happened?" I asked confused. "She has put the electronic water boiler onto the stove." ............ Well shit happens I guess (the whole house stank of burned plastic) Chapter 7 Mira Central district, King''s Sanctuary''s headquarters "Soooo~ father, now that you true strength was revealed what will we do now? I heard that Death Crown has gained a new expert that is soul stage too and that they have already clashed with Emperor''s Rule. Considering the power difference we should ally with Death Crown no?" A girl, about 16 to 17 years old asked her father. Seeing her excited face, he could only sigh and shake his head. Youth really was ignorant. "We will stay out of this. Tell the others in the faction to stay as low key as possible and please refrain from making any trouble, will you?" The girl''s eyes widened disbelieving at her father''s response. "But now that yo-" she wanted to respond, but her father intercepted. Unnoticed by him, his voice suddenly grew louder. "MIRA! We stay out of this! Do you understand?!" Mira, was a bit shocked and dissatisfied bit onto her lip. This was the first time in a while that she was actually scolded by her father. Furthermore the reason for it was completely illogical! She just wanted to retort again as she saw a strange look in her father''s eyes. The normally calm and friendly eyes of her father who had raised her for 17 years, something she was too familiar with. Somehow they had turned melancholic and sad as he staring at the distance, in deep thought about something. It was just as if she wasn''t even standing next to him. It was obvious, whatever it was that had affected her father this badly, it was important enough for him to even disregard his own daughter while being deep in his thoughts. As for what he was thinking, this was something only he himself could possibly know. In the end seeing her father in this strange state, she opened and closed her mouth for a few times, before actually suppressing the urge to further discuss with him and furiously turned around quickly walking out of the room. The sound of the door violently shutting echoed throughout the room. ¡¡.. Standing in front of the closed door that led to the room her father was in Mira couldn''t help but feel dissatisfied. Her father had finally chosen to reveal his strength and she had hoped that she would finally have a chance to show her own strength. Having cultivated every single free moment for the last three years and even reached the third level of the body stage, she itched to finally show the world which extent her martial powers reached. After all a level three expert, while not the peak, was at least considered a powerful expert in this world. But now, instead of gripping for the rule over the city and simply destroy this two other factions that were left, her father had suddenly fallen into his strange depression-like state and refused to move at all. She really couldn''t understand what her father was thinking. Thinking about this chance to show off her success in cultivation she was losing her patience, Mira couldn''t help but stomp on the ground. It wasn''t just that she couldn''t show the inhabitants of the city what she had achieved, she also lost the chance to demonstrate her ability in front of her father. But there was nothing she could do. Her father had already decided and didn''t seem to change his opinion any time soon. Angrily she had no other choice but walk out of the hallway and pass on the words her father told her to pass onto the other faction members. _____________________________________ Inside of the room her father sighed as he heard his daughter angrily stomping down. "She''s still too young after all.¡. No rather she doesn''t remember what happened back then. If she did¡. How could she even think about all this?" He helplessly smiled. A figure appeared in his mind as he suddenly said: "Still, to actually meet here again¡.. It''s fate isn''t it?" "So it''s really him?" Another man had suddenly appeared from behind the old man. His face showed tension as he waited for the others reply. "Yes, there is no doubt. That old bastards son actually appeared here." "¡¡." Both fell into silence as they seemed to reminiscent old times. In the end both emotionally sighed again. The newly arrived man''s face grew hard as he suddenly interrupted the silence. "Seems we will need to repay the debts made back then at that place¡¡!?" The old man nodded his head, cold killing intent glittering in his eyes. "It''s been more than ten years, but debts don''t vanish, they only grow bigger! I swear my name as leader of King''s Sanctuary, blood will undoubtedly flow!" __________________ "SIS, I''M SORRY!" Dan shouted as he ran throughout the house, constantly evading a bunch of kitchen knives flying at him. Behind him a half naked female figure closely followed behind him, holding a whole bunch of kitchen knives in one hand, whole throwing with the other. It was his sister, who was only wearing a towel, covering her most important places. Her face was completely dark and bloodthirsty ran thick in her eyes as she stared at her brother, cold anger in her expression. "SO YOU ARE SORRY; HM? IF, YOU ARE SORRY THEN EAT MY BLADE! WHO TOLD YOU TO JUST WALK INTO THE BATHROOM WITHOUT ANY NOTICE, HM?" Her voice was followed by a few blades that barely missed Dan''s head. Seeing that arguing was useless and his sister wouldn''t accept any reasoning, Dan acted decisively, suddenly taking the stairs, evading another kitchen blade that aimed to block his path and disappeared behind the 20 cm thick steel door that led to his room. ¡¡.. "This was close!" Dan breathed out in relief. Of course, even though his sister was a genuine level two expert at the verge to breaking through to level three, he was still stronger than her and is easily capable of taking her out, without doing any damage to her. But she was his sister and he was willing to do more than just this to make her happy, even if it means to suffer a bit. Looking back at the steel door, Dan couldn''t help but soften. He loved his sister more than anything in this world. She was his sister and the only member of his family he had. For her, he would do about everything in his capabilities. But he quickly let go of this thoughts. He had no time to get emotional about these things right now. If he wasn''t careful he, his entire faction and also his sister would soon die a cruel death and if he wanted to evade this unpleasant end for himself and everyone he knew, his only choice was to quickly grow stronger. He turned around and let his gaze travel around his room. It was a pretty big room, about 40 square meters in circumference, simple, but elegant. A black granite floor, one unadorned bed of wood, a small night table and a also wooden wardrobe were all in one corner of the room, leaving about two thirds of it completely empty. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Opposing the furniture were two big windows leading towards the street and letting the light of the moon shine into the room and illuminate it. Dan had purposely not lit the lamps in this room, he preferred just being with the light provided by the moon. (well it''s free isn''t it?) Standing at the entrance for a moment and putting his thoughts into order, Dan finally moved and walked to the small night table that was next to his bed. He opened the black ebony (wooden) door of the night table and revealed a small tresor-door with a code lock. Tipping in the code he opened the door and took out it''s contents¡. a book. He flipped open the first side, looking at it''s content. There was a short text english, followed by a number of pictures, depicting a person in various positions and postures. This was Dan''s cultivation manual, containing a rare superior ranked cultivation technique, possibly the only one in the whole city! After all, money was unable to buy these things. Only good fortune, luck and good relations with powerful people, the government or other institutions could possibly earn you a treasure like this. Dan for example only managed to acquire this after a fortuitous encounter with a martial Grand master, who gifted this one to him. Quickly skipping through the cultivation manuals sides, he flipped to a certain part of the manual. Duo- cultivation! His expression changed a bit as he stared at the extremely detailed pictures that depicted the different postures needed for this sort of cultivation, involving both man and woman. Strangely this part of the cultivation manual was much more detailed with it''s pictures and descriptions of the different body parts involved. The pictures clearly showed the two genders intertwining with each other, taking extra attention on the different parts of the body that separated women and men and while reading it was obvious that the person that wrote all this down had a lot of¡. well¡. ''passion'' for the things he wrote down. In fact the details written down caused even Dan to blush deep red and struggle with his body. After all, this Oh''so famous, powerful expert was still virgin. As he felt his body, going more and more out of control and blood gushing into both his face and ¡¡. ¡.. well another organ even more important, he finally shut the book with a single motion, gasping for air. "This¡.." His face was still deeply flushed. "Even if Duo-cultivation is more effective than normal cultivation, I should wait until I get married to do this kind of ''stuff''!" Still troubled, he sat down cross-legged and started to calm his mind and the 30 centimeter big mountain that rose from his lower body. After chanting a mantra, meant for people who practiced abstinence for thirty minutes he finally felt ready to get back to the ''true path of cultivation''. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, sitting motionless and gathering his concentration into his own body. Then he suddenly opened his eyes and simultaneously rose up, his feet starting to move too. His arms drew a circle in the air as he bowed his body towards the ground and lifted one foot from the ground. His body contracted, the muscles tensing up to build up energy. Then he suddenly used the energy, lifting his body into the air and continuing a set of movements midair. Tipping against the ground he constantly remained within the air, moving every single muscle while executing the almost inhuman postures. As he went on and continued the sets and different combinations Dan slowly felt a strange energy entering from outside the body and flowing through the pores of his skin. The energy slowly went into the tissue and the different capillaries entering the blood flow. It began with his arms, that constantly swing through the air, making different figures and postures and continued through his blood vessels throughout the whole body eventually also reaching the heart and the brain. After spreading once across the whole body the energy then entered the cells of his organs and muscles, invading his DNA and begging to change it according to some strange pattern. More and more energy entered through his arms, flowed throughout the whole body distributing equally and finally entered the cells changing both their structure and the one of the DNA. Also a part of this energy didn''t begin changing the DNA and using itself up with it, it somehow entered the membranes of the cells, strong itself in them. Dan continued like this, until after about two hours he finally collapsed on the ground, having reached the limit of what his body was able to endure. Two hours of constant jumping, stretching, flying, tensing, swirling and moving had thoroughly sucked all energy out of Dan''s body, making him even unable to move at all. He had depleted everything inside of him during this cultivation session, having given everything in these two hours. But even though he was already half dead and tired as hell, he also felt that he had gained quite a lot of this two hours. These two hours of cultivation, as savage as they were had pushed up his cultivation by quite a margin shortening the distance to soul stage. Formerly Dan had said that it would take him at least two months to reach soul stage, but this was if he truly devoted everything of himself cultivating to the point of no return. In fact if he truly wanted to complete this feat it would most likely kill before he reached the soul stage. The truth was that even if he hurried himself it would still take at least another four months to finally reach the soul stage. But right now he truly had no time and every week, every day, even every hour was precious. Under this pressure Dan actually managed to squeeze out everything he had, accepting his cultivation speed by a bit. If he kept on cultivating like today, he would most likely be able to reach the soul stage in a bit more than three months. At that time, even if he still had to be wary around Ricks, he hadn''t to fear his own and his whole factions death anymore. Groaning Dan rolled on his back and stared at the ceiling, before falling into thoughts again. Truly, too much had happened in this short time. First they had finally taken over the south district, killing of the scorpion faction and becoming the rulers over three districts. Then just as they thought they would finally have established themselves in Surn city, this madman Ricks appeared, putting everyone into danger. Following that, King''s Sanctuary also revealed a soul stage expert, only making the pressure greater. "Fuck¡¡ ¡.. I can''t even think of anything to complain about¡¡ to tired¡¡" Finally Dan stood up moaning over his completely mistreated back. He slowly stumbled towards his bed. Suddenly he blurred and disappeared. At the place where he had been standing a moment ago a bullet left behind a once inch deep hole and rebounded. A point on the other side of the room blurred with Dan reappearing there, his eyes completely cold and an angry face. A small slice was visible on his cheek, made by the rebounding bullet. He slowly walked to the window, noticing the small hole that had been made into the glass. It was obvious that this had been prepared beforehand. Staring outside of the window he saw a black figure retreating from a house roof. Chapter 8 Assassin Sry it''s late, my folks dragged my out to beach Chapter 8 Assassin Dan''s eyes twitched as he observed the black figure speeding over the area. An assassin? They had really send an assassin after him?! Couldn''t it have been at least a level three expert???!! Angrily he threw a punch at the window, shattering it instantly. It had a hole in it anyway and had to be replaced now. The sound of glass shattering echoed through the room, as his figure once again blurred with him activating his movement technique. He quickly shot into the darkness of the night, chasing after the fleeing attacker. Even thought it was deepest night and the assassin¡¯s attire was perfectly matching it''s pitch black environment, the assassin had no chance to get away from Dan. After all Dan had his initial skill, Emperor''s eye that allowed him to see a human¡¯s interior and that made the body glow red in his vision. Following the red glow only he could see, he silently followed the figure across the roofs. Dan was kind of irritated. Of course he already expected an assassin to be sent after him. After all there was an assassin guild in town and Ricks would be a complete retard to slip the chance to kill him by sending an assassin after him. In worst case the only thing he could lose by doing this was a bit of money and a replaceable assassin, of whom there were hundreds in the city and in the best case he could kill Dan without losing anything in his side. It was only a logical decision to set an assassin on him, but what irritated Dan was not the fact that there was an assassin, but the assassin itself. Through his eyes he could clearly see that the glow emanating from the assassins body and it clearly only belonged to an average level two expert. He could deal with assassins, he could deal with schemes, he could even deal with his sister (!), but THIS injured his pride! Not only was this assassin only a level two expert, from his movements he could also tell that he definitely hadn''t much skill in his profession. His jumps were a bit too long, lifting him too high above the darkness between the roofs and leading to shadows. His landings from roof to roof had small stops in it making it obvious that the man wasn''t properly trained in this aspect. No matter how good this assassin could snipe or fight, these two things alone already told of his inferior skill! Cursing a little he decided to simply take care of this small fry assassin and go back home to sleep. The assassin hadn''t noticed him following him, the difference in cultivation level and movement technique was just too big. Because of this after having crossed most of the outer district and almost reaching the western district, he started to slow down and become less cautious, leaving himself completely open. Dan almost face palmed himself seeing the incompetence of this guy. A bit of anger flamed up as he muttered. "Seems I will have to make an example. For them to send such a failure after me¡..truly disgraceful!" Still, even though the assassin slowed down, he was still constantly heading into the direction of the west district and Dan couldn''t allow him to reach the Death Crown territory. To deal with him there would cause too much trouble and could even result into serious consequences later on. Because of this Dan finally decided to act. He abruptly sped up and used his movement technique to ''run'' through the air, directly reaching the assassin. Now finally the other noticed that he had been followed and reacted at the attack by pulling out a small caliber gun and aiming it at the rapidly closing in Dan. A shot was fired and flew off into Dan''s direction, but Dan had already predicted him and timely made a small turn to the side, making the bullet that was aimed at his head hiss through the air and by his left ear. The assassin instantly continued his fire sending three more bullets at him, each of them aimed at another point and forming a 30 centimeter triangle. Dan made an annoyed frown at this. It seemed this assassin wasn''t as useless and incompetent as he originally thought. Still Dan easily countered this attack by sending out three small steel needles to silently pierced through the air and deflected the bullets out of their course. They uselessly pounced into the street or walls of the nearby houses. Now the assassin was troubled. Even through most of his face was hidden by a black mask covering his chin, mouth, and nose his eyes were clearly showing displeasure at the development of this fight. He clearly knew who he was fighting against and only had a small hope on using a good opportunity to escape. But his possibilities were extremely limited. The long ranged sniper rifle on his back couldn''t be used in a close ranged fight like this and while he had a few small knives and a long blade on his body, he was extremely clear that in terms of real close range fighting he had no chance of survival against Dan. Running out of option the assassin gritted his teeth pulling out something from his west. Dan''s eyes grew sharp as he saw the small round object his enemy was pulling out. It was a small military grenade, something that was really hard to get around here. It was usually only available to the troops stationed at the front and had much higher explosive power than normal grenades. Something like this wasn''t supposed to be in the hands of some random assassin! And this was not all! Simultaneously with the small grenade pulled out, the glow around the assassin also intensified completely outstripping anything that could be at the second level and reaching the third level eventually growing to the peak of it. Dan was shocked. This assassin, he was as powerful as himself! Dan''s thoughts raced as he analyzed the situation. For the military grenade and the peak level three assassin¡It seemed that this fight against Death Crown and the other factions in the city wasn''t as simple as he imagined! Still, right now he had other problems. In front of him was some loser assassin that wanted to blow him up with a military grenade¡.. the situation wasn''t exactly suitable for any deeper analysis. He quickly acted as he pulled out another steel needle, this time a bigger one about 20 cm long. He threw it and aimed at the assassin¡¯s wrist. The needle flew hissed a bit as is cleanly hit the assassin¡.. into his hand¡ The needle only missed the grenade by a few centimeters piercing through the assassins hand and making him drop the dangerous explosive. Dan stared briefly before muttering to himself. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. "Seems I have to practice as bit more¡" At the same time the assassin suppressed his pain and pulled out the needle out of his hand as a female voice came from him. "FUCK, ARE SUICIDAL?" Dan stopped for a moment. "Wait¡. your are a woman?" The assassin stopped in his tracks. "N-no, h-ow could you think something like this?" A muffled unnaturally deep voice came from him. It was obvious that she tried to let her voice sound like a man''s. Dan just frowned annoyed as he flicked his sleeve, causing a small needle to precisely server the connection of the mask with her hood. The mask slid down revealing the assassin''s face. It was a young woman''s face. She had fairly beautiful features, dark brown hair reaching to her shoulders and delicate brows that showed clear embarrassment and anger. She stared at Dan, her dark green eyes telling of her being unsure what to do now. Dan stared for a second before dryly noting. "Your from King''s Sanctuary aren''t you? If I remember correctly you¡¯re the daughter of that old bastard that decided to suddenly come out from his hiding!" He was kind of surprised, why had King''s Sanctuary acted against him without any notice? Normally they would at least publicly declare their intention to kill him. If they didn''t do so there would be doubts after they declared to be his murders. After all the prestige of killing was worth even more then his actual death! Furthermore to send the boss''s only daughter¡. this was quite illogical! Mira froze even more obvious as she heard Dan''s words. "I-i''m not Mira!" "You are." Dan remarked as he looked at the beauty in front of him. He seemed to be at ease now as he waited for any reaction from the stifled girl. But even though he seemed to be relaxed and calm, in truth his brain was working on high speed. Military equipment. Death Crown. King''s Sanctuary. The boss''s daughter. A level two expert. Boobs Ammunition. Skilled assassin. He was rapidly trying to figure out just what could have happened in order for all this things to appear in this one night and on this obviously not matured girl. But in the end it was all for naught¡.. the girl spilled it out by herself. "H-hey you. Y-you have to promise to tell Dad nothing ''bout this!" Her unsteady voice reached his ears. Dan just nodded, signaling her to continue. "W-well, you kn-now, in truth dad d-didn''t allow us to cause any trouble with y-you all. H-he t-told us to stay o-out of all this. B-but I kind of wanted to s-show him t-that I''m stronger then h-he thinks and so¡. Mira grew embarrassed to the end and left the sentence unfinished. "And so you decided to come and kill me with some rifle to show him the strong, dumb, and short sighted girl you are." Dan simply completed the sentence, sighing at the girl''s idiocy. Mira on the other side grew red as it was exactly as Dan had concluded it to be. "Sooo," Dan continued. "Where in HELL''S name did you get the military grenade from?" This was by far the most important question. Something like the grenade was never supposed to appear in the city and be used in the fights between the factions. Even if a faction got one of them into their hands, there was no way they would use it in this fashion. Dan simply couldn''t believe that King''s Sanctuary could have some of them and allow this stupid girl in front of him to have access to it. The girl grew quiet as she heard Dan''s question. It was obvious that she rather wouldn''t disclose this secret to him. "Oh I might as well just take you with me and send your father a small notice that his daughter tried to kill me and that I will only release her for information. Now that I think about it, I could also just slice you up and tell your father that you are still alive¡." A mocking smile appeared at Dan''s face as he let Mira comprehend the threat. The other became pale as she clearly new that Dan could really make his threat''s true. The short fight earlier had clearly shown her that even if she used her whole cultivation and everything at her disposal, even escaping would be extremely hard! "N-NO! My father and the faction had nothing to do with this!" Mira panicked. Neither the thought of her father finding out what had happened, nor being sliced up were really up to her taste and if she wanted to avoid this future she had to quickly convince Dan to hear her out. Dan saw the panic in the girl¡¯s eyes and snickered to himself. ''This girl is easier to manipulate then I thought. Guess if I wanted to could even get her into my bed now. ¡. wait, why do I seem like the bad guy now?!'' Dan quickly shook his head, getting rid of his evil thoughts. Mira bewildered observed him making strange movements out of the blue. "So where is this stuff from?" "Death Crown¡. Well I heard they were searching for capable assassins, so I went there and proposed to kill you for free if they gave me suitable equipment." ¡¡ "Really now?!" Dan was surprised as he heard the girl¡¯s explanation. He couldn''t quite believe that even if Death Crown took her as assassin for free they would give her such a rare grenade. One had to know that this grenade was enough to completely level a big building! But looking at the stupid face the girl was making he couldn''t really imagine her to lie, so in the end he was forced to believe her words. "Well¡ Dan sighed to himself. "I will get you home and have a nice talk with your father then." "Y- you promised to keep this a secret!" The girl objected. "Well¡ ¡ I lied." Dan smirked as he shot forward before the girl could even react. He made a quick chop against her neck, Mira collapsed into his arms unconscious. Dan had just hit her Vagus nerve. Normally knocking someone out this way is almost impossible but with Dan¡¯s Emperor¡¯s Eye coupled with his abilities as a cultivator, the chop was made with extreme precision that it was possible to knock her out. Dan then simply threw Mira over his shoulder and shot off, heading for the central district. He wished to meet the mysterious soul stage expert of King¡¯s Sanctuary. [/quote Chapter 9 Bounce Hi folks, new chapter, only one more until we reach ten! (Wow sounds more pathetic the I thought xd) Eitherway there a multiple things to announce. (Tus that have no time, at least vote it helps the novel!!!!) Also I promise that if a see a new review (that I like (yep evil xD)) until tomorrow (about 10 hours from now) I will get you a reaaaaallly pleasant surprise! Chapter 9 Bounce Without any further ado, Dan continued his way to the central district, quickly changing his course from the west district to the central district. Mira had attacked him in his home in the other district and made her escape into the direction of the western district, causing them to currently be in the southern district. From there it was only about 2 kilometers to the central district, a distance Dam crossed in only a few minutes. Standing on the roof of a house located at the border between the southern and central district Dan stopped for a moment, orientating himself again. He hadn''t been a lot in the central district despite living in the city for almost eleven years. In the end living in this city and it''s system didn''t allow the people much freedom and free movement. But he didn''t bother tangling with the feelings he had because of this. The only way to change anything in this city as well as this world was to take control himself. And to do this one needed power. From his battle with Ricks, he found out that his power was still insufficient. A shadow flashed as his body blurred, appearing 50 meters away on another house and then completely disappearing. The world was completely blurred around Dan as he was speeding through the central district while holding the daughter if the local overlord on his shoulder. As he thought about it he found it kind of funny. The girl¡¯s father wasn''t just this district¡¯s ruler, he was also a soul stage expert that could probably easily kill him in an open fight. Despite this fact his daughter, his ONLY daughter was currently in Dan¡¯s arms enabling him to do whatever he wanted to her. The more he thought about it the funnier it became to him. But then his thought became kind of heated as he suddenly thought about it. Just about three hours ago he had read about Duo-cultivation causing him to almost lose control about his body and now he had a defenseless, beautiful girl in his arms¡¡ Before you start judging, you have to remember that Dan was only 17 years old and still a virgin, never having touched a woman (apart of his sister) before. It was only normal that his curiosity and lust started to well up while realizing all this. Furthermore the stress that had accumulated inside of him also kind of let all his suppressed feeling explode, causing Dan to gradually lose control not only in terms of very alluring fantasies, but also showing through his slowly extending hand, aiming for a certain place on Mira''s body. Suddenly he stopped, sitting down on top of some random house. With a light motion he laid the unconscious girl onto the roof. He struggled, his hand shaking, mental demons creeping out of the deepest parts of a strangely red shining part of his brain. Even stranger was that there was a big ¡°RED DISTRICT THOUGHTS¡± sign above this red part of his mind. Finally he really couldn''t hold against the storm of charming and pimping thoughts, causing his hand to slowly close upon the area of interest. 10 cm 5 cm 3 cm 1 cm It got into contact. As soon as his hands got a hold of the softness and bounciness of the small mountains, they involuntary clenched, getting a good grip of them. Blood started to stream from his nostrils and his eyes grew red shot as tremors run throughout his body. Two times he relaxed and clenched his hands engraving the feeling of happiness and softness into his brain, then he finally managed to pull his hands away from the alluring peaks. Without another word or gesture Dan just stood up, took Mira up his shoulders again and continued his journey like nothing ever happened. Nothing in his complexion, nor his aura revealed anything about the few seconds of being overwhelmed by dirty thoughts. Only one thing remained, two small blood stains at his shirt¡. "This had never happened! I never touched her! Her father won''t kill me right!?" ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ A few minutes later. Dan finally arrived in front of King''s Sanctuary''s headquarters. He was still carrying Mira like a bag, thrown over his shoulder and slowly approaching the main gate of the luxurious mansion, King''s Sanctuary had claimed as their Headquarters. Compared to the Headquarters of Emperor''s Rule it was both, more spacious and more prestigious. It really showed that King''s Sanctuary had an unshakable status in the city, no one could threaten. Yet! But even though it was extremely eye-catching and showcased the power and might of the central and western district''s ruler, it also had an obvious flaw, It was right in the middle of the street, unmistakable and extremely hard to defend. Not only was the mansion quite a bit lower than the surrounding tall buildings, it also was completely opened to every direction! A good sniper couldn''t hope for a better stage to show his skills. Furthermore the mansion was truly just too big, making it hard to quickly get from one point to the other and impacting the reaction time of the defenders, in case of a sudden expert rushing into the building, that could only be subdued by a larger troop working together. Of course the latter was fairly unrealistic right now, as the faction leader, the man called old Hesel by everyone, was a genuine soul stage expert himself. This thoroughly made up for the massiveness of the mansion and it''s ground. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. But Dan wasn''t here to admire the beautifully sculpted sculptures on the two meter high stone wall surrounding the mansion, nor was he here to sigh over the breathtaking baroque facade with it''s skillfully made ornaments. He was here to deliver the daughter of this mansions big boss. The girl he had molested only a few moments ago¡.. Either way Dan didn''t barge into the mansion, nor did he sneakily invade it like an assassin. He calmly stopped in front of the main gate and cleared his throat. Then he deeply inhaled, waited for a second, and finally yelled into the silent night. "Old bastard, I''m here to deliver your stupid daughter!" His voice echoes throughout the empty, dark streets. After having made his announcement Dan simply waited in front of the gate, occasionally staring down onto a certain thing that softly touched his shoulder, bouncing from time to time. He didn''t have to wait long. A few moments after Dan yelled into the night, the big main gate suddenly opened as three men came out of it, clearly enraged as they stared at the person in front of them. Their faces were dark, their eyes red and a bit swollen. It was clear that Dan''s sudden noise had woken them up and forced them to get out of their beds. Each of the three had a weapon equipped somewhere on their body and even thought they were only taken on reflex and messily stuffed somewhere into their clothing, from the manner of the men and the position they had stuffed them, it was obvious that each of them was an expert with their weapon. Not only that. In Dan''s eyes each of the men was radiating a faint glow, making them as peak level two experts. To have three cultivators on the verge to level three act as night guards, it was only another show cast of the might King''s Sanctuary had accumulated over the years in Surn city. Seeing the three sleepy level two experts Dan didn''t even blinked an eye. The amount of level two experts that had died at his hand wasn''t even known to him. Three more didn''t matter there anymore. "I called for your boss, not for three puppies playing guard dogs!" The three men instantly felt their pride hurt. This bastard appeared in the middle of the night, screaming around, making noise and annoying the neighborhood and now he even insulted them? This was courting death. Of course, neither of the three men saw that the lunatic that was yelling at nights and standing right in front of them was Dan, one of the most fearsome experts in the whole city. Someone that was even publicly called Blood demon! To get such a fearsome nickname in a city like Surn, It showed just how much blood Dan had already seen and how strong he was. But the guards didn''t know this. To them he was only another poor soul that had lost his sanity and came to lose his life. One of them FINALLY lost patience and went forward. "Bro''s I will take care of him. Just wait, till I give this punk a good punch, then we can go back to sleep!" Arrogance and annoyance lingered in his voice. It was only normal. After all who would believe that some random guy that came in the middle of the night, was one of the strongest people in the city? Furthermore they were not some random faction, they were King''s Sanctuary, the city''s strongest faction! In front of this three experts, even if it was the boss of some gang came and this gang boss was stronger than the three, he still had no face in front of them. As for this supposed lunatic? He would be lucky if they let him go alive! Without anymore useless words, the man didn''t even took out his weapon, a long blade, but simply strode towards Dan. He thought that it would be simply to take care of Dan as he was a normal human, even if he had a problem with his brain. He got right in front of Dan, looking right into the others innocently smiling face. Seeing this innocent smile the man''s blood only boiled stronger and his desire to strongly struck this person grew bigger. Finally he threw a punch. It didn''t contain his full strength in truth it didn''t even amount to more than 10 percent of his complete power. He simply didn''t want to kill the man in front of him. After all if a level two expert struck a normal person with his full strength, even if the latter was extremely lucky, he would at least end up as cripple or dead. Even if he was waked up in the middle of the night and this man really annoyed him, he still didn''t want to kill him just like this. Even in Surn, to kill someone because of something like this was more than inappropriate and harmed the reputation. But even thought it was only 10% of his power, this 10% would probably break some of the others bones, teaching him a good lesson. Seeing the punch the other two man relaxed. They also believed that Dan couldn''t possibly be some strong expert and that this should already be enough to get rid of him. They already turned around and intended to leave. There was nothing for them to do here. The man throwing the punch at Dan grinned as he saw his fist closing into the others shoulder. He believed that it would at least dislocate the shoulder, if not break it into pieces. ''This is what this bastard gets for waking me up at this god damn time!'' But his grin quickly disappeared. The punch didn''t connect and he felt like he was falling into nothing as he stumbled forward. His face became grim as he understood that he had made a horrible mistake. As he was falling forward he suddenly heard a voice coming from behind him. "Ha~, OLD BASTARD; SINCE YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY BUSY I WILL PLAY WITH THESE SMALL FRIES UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO COME OUT!" The man shuddered as he heard this declaration, he quickly turned around but before he could get into a fighting stance Dan was already right in front of him, with two cold glaring eyes akin to a predator looking at it¡¯s prey. ____________________ Ps: Wow I actually managed to write a whole chapter about this...... Seems I''m getting professional! Pun~ Chapter 10 Old bastard Hi mates, 10th chapter! Since there was no new review on the novel, the surprise has to wait hm? Eitherway I wonder if anyone can take the hint.... Doesn''t really matter thought.... Lastly please vote or write am review if you have a bit of time and want to help me. And FUCKing comment OK? I mean it, write comments, no matter about what, it at least shows me that you are actually here! Chapter 10 Old bastard Having made his announcement Dan started to play around with the three level two guards. It wasn''t to the point where the three would die, or keep serious injuries from the fight, but the amount of scratches, bruises and broken bones they got from this little ''fight'' would teach them a good lesson for their lives. It was extremely likely that none of them would never again take night guard shift or walk around at night. Dan saw the punch of another man, one of the two who had previously watched the first one attacking Dan. Now that the first one was flattened on to the ground, having a little bump in his head, the two other guards naturally also attacked. Of course, unlike the first guard that had underestimated Dan, they attacked with their full power. Dan had finally released his aura as level three expert and the two guards as fellow cultivators could finally see the strong glow coming from his body, a glow that could only belong to a level three expert! But even though the two guards wouldn''t hold back now as they knew that their enemy was a level three expert, they still didn''t panicked. All of them were excellent warriors, the elite of the faction and despite them being only peak level two, together they had the confidence to at least last against an average level three expert. After all there were huge differences in power even within a single level and an average level three expert was only about two times as strong as an average peak level two expert. He would be hard pressed to knockout or kill two elite peak level two experts. But of course Dan wasn''t the average level three expert! As the punch came, Dan once again activated his movement technique and disappeared from his previous location. His movement was truly like a ghost''s, leaving his opponents no chance to attack. "Too slow!" A cheerful chuckle reached the guard from behind before he felt a powerful, but strangely gently force coming from his back. It was like a wave that suddenly got him from behind, the force didn''t harm him, but instead simply inevitably pushed him forwards, resulting in him losing his footing and falling forwards. The man reacted quickly and caught himself with his arms pushed against the ground instantly getting up again, turning around and looking back, but even though there was only a moment between his fall and looking behind him, he only managed to see a shadow and a faint blur. There was no sign of Dan''s body anymore. The other still standing guard also charged forward, finally taking out his gun and fired shot''s at the rapidly moving Dan. But none hit! Dan''s movements were like water, simply evading each bullet by walking around it. It was as if the whole world was slowed and only Dan was able to move normally. Of course this wasn''t the case, it was Dan''s extreme speed and his powerful movement technique, coupled with his reaction speed as a level three expert that allowed him to precisely evade each bullet. Even more it was a showcased of what Dan was capable of and the three guards quickly realized that even now that they used all their strength as well as their equipment, they had no chance to fight Dan head on! Finally the three guards, the one on the ground had finally regained consciousness, pulled back a bit regrouping themselves. It was obvious that on their own had no chance against this strange expert who was carrying some strange black sack on his shoulder. Because of this they quickly formed a formation, with one person on the front and two behind him. Seeing the three guards regroup, Dan stopped his rapid movements and appeared a few meters away from them. His eyes glittered as there was a clear change in his expression and aura: Try to get me ya bastards! Unknowingly Dan''s mouth had curled into a grin and he had to notice that he enjoyed this more than he thought. Of course, this was like a tiger bullying a bunch of kitten, but it was certainly more entertaining then fighting some soul stage crazy bastard and a good way to vent all frustration. The three guards naturally also saw the change in Dan''s eyes, as well as the grin that revealed the fun he had with all this, but they couldn''t even feel angry or insulted, this enemy was much stronger than they thought and the serious and grave expressions on their faces gave good proof of this. Serious because of the difficulty of their opponent, grave because of the fact that this strong expert had become their factions enemy. An expert like this would have his own faction, or belong to an extremely strong one and in the current situation any enmity could prove fatal to them! But there was nothing to regret and even if they did, there was no medicine against it. What had happened that already happened and now that this man had become their enemy, they had to slay him or he could become a future problem! Seeing the three men still not moving Dan became impatient. "Hey, are you going to hurry up? It''s not like I have the whole night for this!" The guards could only grit their teeth and endure. This lad might have a big mouth, but he also had the ability to back it up. Finally they got into motion. All three started to use their movement technique as they tightened their grips on their weapons. They began to move in a certain manner, each following a strange path that only existed inside of their own minds. As they move, their figures began to blur, overlap and seem to randomly switch places. It was as if all three figures, were one but at the same time three, as if they were anywhere and everywhere. They really managed to fully make use of this formation of their''s to cause such an effect and it showed that they had a lot of practice with it. Dan''s eyes brightened a bit. "Seems it won''t be as boring as I thought!" But as he said this a dangerous glint also appeared in his pupils. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. "Truly nice to be able to fight ya guys, seems that old bastard isn''t as stingy as I thought giving me such nice playthings." His foot moved his figure blurring and multiplied. "¡BUT, sorry guys it won''t help you at all¡. The voice seemed to come from everywhere as the three guards, staying in their formation tried to pinpoint Dan''s position. Sweat gathered at their foreheads as they observed their surroundings. The light of the lanterns illuminated the whole street, letting only a few areas dark and mysterious and while the men tried their best to find out where their opponent was they couldn''t help but notice the unnaturally big moon that shined down onto them. Their eyes couldn''t help but stop to get a good look at the beautiful trees that grew along side the street and they even the mosquitoes that circled the lanterns attracted by the light suddenly seemed extremely attractive. Somehow, completely irrationally in this important moment their thoughts completely strayed from the fight and for the first time in life they even noticed how beautiful the street was. Dan''s eyes twitched. These bastards? Why did they suddenly spaced out? He didn''t know why, but he suddenly felt extremely irritated and offended, so much that later on he would find it unbelievable himself. It was as if something inside of him had suddenly said: Ah fuck it let''s just screw ''em. In this moment, he totally without any reason actually got into a berserk rage. He suddenly flashed into the distracted guards formation and made a roundhouse kick. The completely unprepared guards flew across the surroundings, slamming into the wall of the mansion or the street and coughed up blood. Only now they woke up from their strange state and realized that they had spaced out. Their eyes widened as they realized what had happened. But before they could even move a single muscle they saw two completely red eyes, full of blood descending down onto them. It was as if someone had enraged a god to the point were even the heaven collapsed under his rage. In fact the rage was so strong that it even seemed to materialize, solidifying the air. The effect of the rage was even strong enough to keep the three guards from breathing and almost crushing them. It was a miracle that their hearts kept beating in that minute! Unable to move the three could only wait for Dan to finally descend upon them. Finally just as Dan was about to crush his fist into the first guards head a figure appeared at the gate and flashed to the scene. This figure''s speed was even faster then Dan''s and as it moved it easily reached Dan and the guards before the fist slammed down killing the guard. In last second the figures hand reached out, gripping for Dan''s fist. _______________________________________________________________ Somewhere in the endless space. "Em, you sure this was a good idea?" "Hm, what do you mean?" In the endless darkness two figures floated next to each other. Both seemed to be about 20 years old and wore extremely particular clothing. "Well, manipulating human emotions like this¡.." The left person asked as he looked a bit helpless. "Ah, nothing big about it. I was tired of watching this fight so I let the things escalate a bit. Let the three poor guys space out for a moment and this interesting kid go rampage. Nothing big happened, right? It''s not like I triggered some strange things so calm down. Also the almighty being (author) wanted to finally get over it. Doing it like this, everyone profits, right?" The other person relaxed replied. "Come on, be honest it was really boring to watch it, I mean I have already seen freaking nascent stage kids fighting more interesting!" The left persons eyes twitched. "You DO know that they are only body stage, don''t you?" ______________________________________________________________ Back to the fight. "Have you gone crazy?" Having gripped Dan''s arm and avoided the death of the completely ''frightened guard, the old man frowning asked. For a moment it seemed that Dan was inserted into his rage and would also attack this newcomer, but then suddenly he blinked. he blinked once, twice, trice. Finally he looked at the old man, his eyes having gone back to normal. The cold grey in his pupils had once again taken dominance over the scary red. The old man breathed out, obviously relieved. "Finally you have come to senses." "O-old bastard?" Dan was still a bit confused as he stared at the old man, the leader of King''s Sanctuary. "What the fucking hell just happened? "That''s what I would ask you. Well right after you answer me why you have my daughter on your back!" The old man let go of Dan''s arm, allowing him to completely straighten up. Then he pointed at the ''black sack'' on his shoulders. Dan still couldn''t really understand how he had ended up in this situation, but after a moment he finally understood what the old man meant. "Oh, well I guess she tried to assassinate me." He flatly replied the question. The old man blinked. Dan blinked. ~Silence~ "Sigh~ I knew it¡. this child..." The old man sighed as he wryly smiled. "I''m sorry for this I guess it was my fault for being to neglectful with her. But from your looks and the fact that she is still alive I take it that you didn''t have too big of a problem with her." "Well she broke my window¡." Dan said as he lifted the girl and gave her to the old man. The latter quickly scanned over her body checking for any injuries and as he saw that there were none except for a small one in her hand his face showed relief. She was his only daughter after all and it would hit him hard if anything bad happened to her. Just as he wanted to turn back to Dan he suddenly noticed something else. His left eyebrow lifted. "Yeah, but I guess I will take you getting a good grope on her breasts as a repayment."
