《Pangaea Online, War of the Ancients》 Prologue - The Beginning AN: This is my first fanfic ever, so the chapters won''t be as long as some other stories but I''ll try to make ch 1 fairly long.Please help point out the flaws throughout the story and if anyone has any ideas please tell me them and I will try to incorporate them into the story. Also if anyone knows how to make a table and would be willing to tell me how, would be greatly appreciated. We will become the most famous throughout the lands and return home victorious!" Yelled a young man wearing a full set of shining silver armor and wielding a mighty 2-handed black great-sword oozing out an aura of death kneeling down outside a cave . The soldiers with now determined faces looked towards the mighty beast walking around inside. "Charge!" Over 10,000 soldiers charging at this monster would make any normal monster put its tail in between legs and run. But unfortunately for the soldiers, the beast that they were facing was no ordinary beast, but the Legendary Blue Dragon. Starring impassively towards the mighty force, as if they did not matter, the dragon coiled up and exhaled a puff of smoke and laid down on a pile of gold coins an objects. "This Monster! Thinking that we, the Elite Force of the mighty kingdom Anarock would be so easily stopped. Teach this bastard a lesson that it will remember for the rest of its scaly life! Charge!" The soldiers charged at the beast intending to fight for their kingdom and the prospects of fame and wealth. -192 -121 -192 -282 -192 -238 The mighty beast did not give any sign of getting up from these small attacks. "Move aside you weak lot!" Yelled the commander, pushing away the smaller soldiers. Jumping into the air the commander activated his skills. The sword now covered in a fiery blackish light smashed into the the dragons head, destroying part of the mountain behind the mighty beast and causing the dragon to get up at last. -27954 The dragon looked around until his icy blue eyes looked at the commander. "A human injured me to this extent?" A deep, gravely voice that seemed to go through a persons body and sounded like a 10,000 year old was speaking. "Feel the power of the kingdom of Anarock you beast!" The dragon seemed to have a spark of humor run through its eyes and a deep gurgling sound rolled throughout the caves shaking the foundations of the mountains. "This puny human thinks that he has injured me, that attack dealt me the most damage in these last 2,000 years. However, the damage that you dealt to me was barely 1% of my total HP" the dragon said "No way" the commander said dropping to his knees, his only form of support being his weapon. "Is this the true power of a Dragon?" The commander exclaimed Laughing slightly the dragon said "I am only a mid level dragon" At this the entire army dropped to their knees realizing at last that they had no chances against this mighty and fearsome beast. "Be honored puny humans, you will be the first humans to die by my hand in over 2,000 years." The dragon took a deep breath and spewed blue flame at the army. Being confined to the space of a cave the army was completely frozen solid. Not a single living person from the expedition remained. "And so it begins" said the dragon as he turned around and walked into the innermost, darkest part of the cave. (End of dream) 3rd person: Aeleus''s POV "AHH!" Shouted Aeleus Remembering what happened in the dream Aeleus exhaled and collapsed onto his bed. "That''s the fourth time this dream has occurred in the past week, and what does the voice mean by my destiny? What a joke. Who believes in Destiny in this day and age." Laughing quietly about what he just said Aeleus turned onto his side and fell asleep once again. But not before glancing at a huge poster on his wall. _____________________________________________ *Buzz* *Buzz* *Buzz* *Buzz* *Buzz* Swatting at the alarm clock beside him Aeleus turned and glanced at the calendar, June 18, 2039. His eyes started to close before he realized what today was and jumped out of bed and turned to the poster on his wall. "Finally, today is the day where Pangaea Online is released." He said he with a grin on his face. Pangaea Online, the revolutionary virtual reality massive multiplayer online role playing game, or short a VRMMORPG. The organization that created this game had told the mass that a player can decide everything by themselves. What happens in the game is determined by a players actions. The organization had so much power in this day and age that they had decided that any wars between countries will be decided in game. This message had caused many countries to focus and getting the very best players from all around the country and be a part of the "army". Aeleus himself did not receive this invitation since he had never decided to become a pro gamer and had never played any rpg game before. "Hmm, I better learn some things about the game before I buy the pod" Aeleus thought. "Speaking of which, how much is the pod? The price was supposed to be released today." Walking over to the computer, Aeleus typed in the website and hovered over the price button. "I have about $800 saved up, hopefully it will be enough" Aeleus thought, but once he saw the price his eyes widened to unimaginable proportions. "$2000 for each unit? What is this? This can''t be the actual price" he furiously thought and rapidly scrolled down to see if he could''ve found a cheaper version. Falling back onto his chair Aeleus realized that there was no way that he could save up enough money to get in the first round of players. Aeleus was about to give up but at the bottom of the screen noticed an interesting as for Pangaea online. The advertisement was about a studio was looking for players and they would supply the pods. Aeleus took note of the address bathed and changed and ran out the door . _____________________________________________ Knocking on the door to the game studio Aeleus wondered if he would be chosen to be part of the studio. After all he was brand new to the world of RPGs and had no knowledge whatsoever. A man looking to be in his mid thirties opened the door and looked at Aeleus inquisitively and had a slight look if hole in his eyes. Clearing his throat Aeleus began to talk. "Hello Sir my name is Aeleus and I am here to join this game studio for Pangaea Online" The mans eyes widened exponentially before he shouted "Hey guys! Come out here and meet our newest member!" Aeleus looked confused at this and asked the man "Don''t you want to know about my gaming knowledge and what class I will be playing?" The man laughed "That doesn''t matter. Even if you are new to RPGs these uncles will help you become better. Aeleus looked relieved and asked the man "Thank you, I assure you that I will try my hardest and help this game studio the best that there is. When should I move in?" "Today would be best since the game opens at 11:00 pm tonight" the man replied "Oh I''m sorry where are my manners my name is Verrick pleasure to meet you" the man, now Verrick replied. "Thanks Verrick, I''ll see you and the others in the afternoon." _____________________________________________ Packing up everything that he owned into a couple of boxes Aeleus couldn''t help but be excited for the future. "Once I learn more about this game and get better and better at the game i will be the first one to kill the dragons" Aelues enthusiastically said. Aeleus had in fact already picked his class for the game. "For a fantasy game, the only class that I would ever think about playing would be the Mage! In Pangaea Online, the creators wanted the game to be influenced by the players as much as possible so the only way for players to get skills books was from events, this made the competition to get better armor and weapons even more intense. However, skills could also be created by players if they spent hours upon hours working on it before it got recognized by the system. This was different for mages. If a Mage could create their own spells then the balance of the game would be thrown out of whack. To counter this one world made sure that the only way other than events to mages to get skills was to kill monsters and obtain . There were many kinds of spell blueprints and the drop chance was different for all of them. had a .01% chance of dropping had a .001% chance of dropping Event only .001% of dropping Quest only .001% of dropping had a .0001% chance of dropping had a .00001 chance of dropping boss drop only .000001% chance to drop boss drop only .0000001% chance of dropping Of course this would make the Mage class way to weak so specific tiered monsters would have a higher or lower chance of dropping a blueprint. Also, a magician needed to have the required ingredients to turn the spell blueprint into a spell. Then the spell could be used. Looking up Aeleus realized that he had reached at the studio. Knocking on the door, Aeleus was surprised to see a younger looking Verrick at the door. "Hey you must be Aeleus, names Derrick, I''m the younger brother of Verrick if you saw the resemblance. Come on in your room is waiting for you." Looking around the studio and how empty it was Aeleus couldn''t help but ask "Where is everyone else?" Derrick looked surprised at this and said "Did Verrick not tell you? The studio only has me, him, and now you in it." Aeleus looked completely surprised at this but then realized that as long as he got to play the game who cares how many people are in the studio. "You seem fine about that. Others would make up some excuse and leave." Derrick said "Well as I said before, since you have accepted me I''ll do my best and help this studio as much as possible." Aeleus sincerely replied Derrick looked surprised at this before smiling. "Well kid, I''ll see you in about an hour before we go online" "Okay Derrick see ya." Aeleus replied _____________________________________________ One hour later Aeleus walked out the room to the living room where the meeting will be taking place. "Ah Aeleus you arrived, let''s begin" Verrick said "Our primary goal is to gain money by playing this game. If we run into any talented players we will try and invite them to our studio. We will play solo until we are about level 20 or 30 then we will group up and start raiding dungeons and caves. Good luck and I''ll see you guys later." _____________________________________________ 10:45 pm Aeleus entered the pod and started up the game. "Iris check has found that you are a new player. Would you like to create a new character?" The program said "Yes" replied Aeleus "What race do you want to choose. Humans, Orcs, Elves, Half-El--" "Human" Aeleus said cutting off the pod "How do you wish to look in game" "The same" "What class do you wish to play as" "Mage" "Mages are reccommended for experienced players. Are you sure about picking Mage?" "Yes" Aeleus said since in his mind being a Mage was the only acceptable choice and the words experienced players seemed to have went through one ear and out the other. "Your starting Village and Kingdom will be chosen at Random. Please enjoy the game" At this point Aeleus couldn''t contain his excitement anymore and was jumping up and down. "Welcome to Pangaea Online" Aeleus looked around and couldn''t believe what he was feeling, hearing, and smelling. He could feel the cool air drifting, players entering the game and shouting, and smell crews grass and nature. He smiled and said "I will be the first one to conquer this game!" like a crazy person everyone else turned and looked at him before starting to laugh. Btw the stat Windows might be very bad so ignore them for the most part. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Aeleus''s POV: After Aeleus had decided that he would be the number one player. He decided to take a look around and get familiar with the surroundings. He ran everywhere through the city and when he was finally done he had decided it was time to get some quests. "Hmm, the time right now is 11:25 pm I wonder what the best weapon is right now." Quickly choosing the Top Weapons button in the settings he found what he was looking for. The number 1 weapons belonged to a level 3 Thief, whose in-game name was DeadGuy. The weapon that he had was called Marauders Dagger and had some dec my stats for a white grade weapon. In Pangaea Online, all types of equipment had a grade to it. The grades for equipment from worst to best would be; unranked-white-black-bronze-silver-gold-arcane-radiant/demonic-godly-Dragon God. "Wow, the game hasn''t been up for even an hour yet, yet this guy is already level 3 and has a white grade weapon with the low drop rates in this game was nothing less than being extremely lucky." Aeleus said. Quickly opening up his Inventory, Aeleus looked at the objects inside. x10; increases satiety by 20% increases satiety by 5%, 3 uses starting weapon for mages Aeleus quickly pulled out the wand and equipped it. Aeleus then clicked the weapon once again to find out its stats. Attack: 1-1 Description: A wand poorly crafted but still functions well enough to be used by beginner mages. Aeleus sweat dropped at seeing the poor stats on the wand before his eyes widened. "Wait, since I am a Mage doesn''t that mean that I have a spell to use? I wonder what spell it is" Aeleus said hoping that it was something useful. Hitting the skills tab Aeleus looked at his current skill count and nearly dropped to the floor. Skill count: 1 "They were really serious about making skills hard to get weren''t they? Not even giving out starter skills to help out only a class skill." Aeleus disappointedly said. "Hopefully my skill is good" Aeleus said and observed the skill that showed up. [Fire Orb] Skill level: 1 (0%) Damage: 5-10 Mana Cost: 10 Rank: Unranked Description: An extremely weak fire spell used by novices to practice magic, explodes on contact, does not deal AOE (Area of Effect) damage. Aeleus eyes widened, and said "Just how hard are they going to make the Mage class be? Verrick told me that in other games a mages first spell dealed at least 10 damage at minimum but here in PO (Pangaea Online) 10 was the max damage. "They weren''t kidding when they said that being a Mage was recommended for experienced players. But being a Mage is the only thing for me! I will never be a different type of class!" Aeleus yelled passionately and once again getting strange looks from the people around him. Arriving at the West Gate, Aeleus saw a sign by the gate saying "The area ahead is recommended for level 1 players to level 5 players." Upon seeing this sign, Aeleus increased his pace and reached the guard point. "Halt! Who goes there? By order of the King of Verderhelm, only Adventurers are allowed to pass" yelled one of the guards by the gate. "Good thing that I am an Adventurer right uncle?" Replied Aeleus, "here take a look at my character page." Pressing the character button, Aeleus showed his stats to the solider Name: Aeleus Level: 1 Titles: N/A Race: Human (Adventurer) Class: [Novice] Mage Below these were the stats of Aeleus Strength: 5 Vitality: 5 Endurance: 5 Wisdom : 6 Intelligence: 6 Dexterity: 5 Luck: 0 (Yea I know that this is a bad chart, I don''t know how to make one currently. Sorry) At seeing this the Guard was convinced that Aeleus was an Adventurer and let him through to the level 1-5 area, The Grassy Plains. However Aeleus''s jaw was hanging open at the sight of his low stats. "What is this! Mages should have a much higher intelligence and wisdom but this game only increased them by 1! How hard do they want the Mage class to be!" Aeleus was nonstop yelling now due to these outrageous stats and even the NPC''s turned and looked at him. "Huff, lets just enter and grind my level for a bit" Aeleus unenthusiastically said _____________________________________________________________________________________ The Grassy Plains Aeleus''s POV Not long after Aeleus entered the plains he encountered his first monster. He observed the monster and its stats showed up above it. Rabbit LVL 1 HP: 50 Strength: 3 Description: A harmless rabbit unless provoked Aeleus decided to try his luck and see how much damage he would deal with his spell. "[Fire Orb]!" Aeleus shouted. Please report it. -6 (Rabbit: 44/50) Aeleus sweat dropped at such a low damage number, before his eyes widened at what the rabbit did. The rabbits eyes turned red and ran over to Aeleus and biting his leg. -8 (92/100) "Curse you One World! Even a rabbit does more damage then me!" It was at this point that Aeleus decided to treat this rabbit as a true opponent and fight him seriously. "[Fire Orb]!" "[Fire Orb]!" "[Fire Orb]!" Aeleus casted [Fire Orb] 3 more times but the rabbit being the faster of the two managed to get 5 attacks on him. Aeleus''s HP was now at 43/100 and the rabbit had 24/50 HP left. Aeleus started to freak out, since the greatest shame for a gamer was to die at level 1 to a level 1 monster. Aeleus fired off 3 more fire or and the rabbit and only gotten in 3 hits making the HP 2/50 for the rabbit and 12/100 Hp left. With his hands shaking, Aeleus manages to cast one final [Fire Orb] before the rabbit had gotten a chance to attack him, winning him the battle. Enemy Rabbit LVL 1 killed Obtained 5 copper coins 2 EXP gained Glancing at his mana and health Aeleus saw that during that fight if he had casted a couple more orbs and they had missed, even if he dodged he would have died since his mana would have run out. Aeleus then looked at his skill page and saw that from killing a rabbit the exp for [Fire Orb] went up from 0% to 1%. "I should''ve known that rabbits would have give next to no exp and no items. What kind of idiot am I to fight against a rabbit when I should be hunting foxes." Aeleus said under his breath. Aeleus decided to wait for a bit to recover his hp and mana before he tried to hunt a fox. "Help! Someone please help me!" Yelled a voice close to where Aeleus was. *Ding* "Save the NPC" quest has been made Objective: Save the NPC Rewards: EXP and money Failure: Death of NPC and lowered intimacy with surrounding towns. [Accept] [Decline] Aeleus eagerly pressed accept and heard the ding noise that signified the quest has been accepted. Running over to where Aeleus heard the pleas for help, Aeleus saw that a LVL 1 Red Fox was chasing an NPC whose HP he fallen to half already. Observing the fox Aeleus saw its stats and felt like he was going to die against this monster Red Fox LVL 1 HP: 80 Strength: 4 Dexterity: 4 Description: A fairly harmless fox but is known to harass and bite travelers and in rare cases kill the traveler "Fear not, for Aeleus is here!" Aeleus shouted in a way trying to make it sound heroic. "[Fire Orb]!" "[Fire Orb]!" "[Fire Orb]!" "[Fire Orb]!" Firing off 4 orbs and lowering down the foxes HP to a little under 50 and his own going to 70-80 after the fox had targeted him from the first fire orb cast. Once again firing off orbs in an effort to kill the fox Aeleus fired off 6 more orbs. "[Fire Orb]!" -7 "[Fire Orb]!" -6 "[Fire Orb]!" -8 "[Fire Orb]!" Critical! -15 "[Fire Orb]!" -9 "[Fire Orb]!" -6 The fox was killed at least and Aeleus had successfully dodged a large number of the attacks from the foxes. *Ding* Quest "Save the NPC" has been successfully completed. Talk to the NPC for rewards. Aeleus eager for the rewards ran over to the NPC and asked him "Sir, are you ok?" The NPC turned to him and replied "Thanks to you brave adventurer I am safe" *Ding* Quest Rewards EXP x 500 Copper Coins x 100 Glancing at his exp bar, Aeleus saw that the quest had filled up over 80% of the exp needed to reach level 2. He had also gained 50 copper coins. "Once I get gold coins and better gear I can start to sell items and make money to buy my own helmet in case the studio gets destroyed" 1 gold coin= 100 silver coins= 10,000 copper coins (Basically the same coin to coin ratio as most other stories) Remembering that he had recently killed a monster Aeleus looked at what the fox had dropped. Enemy Red Fox LVL 1 has been killed 7 copper coins 25 exp Looking at the last object, Aeleus''s eyes widened since blueprints were needed to create skills. Although was slightly confused because it had a Mysterious before it. He then Observed the blueprint. Description: A very old blueprint that has faded through time and is now unreadable. Has absolutely no value. Aeleus''s eye twitched before collapsing on the floor. "Curse you Pangaea Online. Getting my hopes up but then immediately takes it away." AN: The story has hit 100 average views so I am very happy and I have no plans of ending this story anytime in the future so you guys will get your chapters. Ignore the bad tables... Glancing over at the NPC that he had saved earlier, Aeleus responded enthusiastically "My name is Aeleus, a level 1 [Novice] Mage!" "Hmm Aeleus, you say" the NPC replied looking as if he was deep in thought. " I''ll tell you what Aeleus, in these plains their should be the leader of the Red Foxes. Bring me back it''s hide and I''ll give you something good" *Ding* The Quest "Leader of the Red Foxes" has been made Rank: Unranked Objective: Kill the leader of the Red Foxes and bring it back to the NPC that you saved. Rewards: EXP, item from NPC Failure/Declining the mission: Hostility from neighboring towns and reduced trust from NPC. [Accept] [Decline] "Well the game isn''t really giving me a choice with these consequences" Aeleus sighed and pressed the accept button. *Ding* Quest "Leader of the Red Foxes" has been accepted. However, Aeleus had just realized one crucial fact. "Leader of the Red Foxes? The leader? Doesn''t that mean a Boss monster?" Aeleus began to get incredibly annoyed with himself for missing this key point for the quest. But, Aeleus was more angry than annoyed because he one that he did not have the power to take out a Boss with his current stats and equipment. "I have to level up to even have a chance to win against the boss." Aeleus said. "I should check how much exp I need to level up. Opening his stats page, and looking through it, Aeleus found his exp bar. It currently said 532/750 exp. After he saw this, Aeleus opened his skills page and saw that the exp for [Fire Orb] was at 14% from killing the fox and rabbit. (EXP given from quests do not increase skill exp.) "I wonder if this quest is shareable." Aeleus wondered. If he was able to share the quest with the members in the studio then this quest would go by so much faster. Pulling up his quest menu, and re-observing the quest he was given he luckily saw "shareable" after the quest name. "Phew, that means that I can share this quest with Verrick and Derrick. With the Mage not being as strong as it is in other games, there is no way that I can solo a boss." Aeleus said sadly Quickly pulling up the menu, Aeleus clicked the communication button and clicked both Derrick and Verrick''s game names. Their names were Dhark and Vlad respectively. Starting a group call using the skype function, Aeleus saw their faces pop up on his screen. "Aeleus? What''s up?" Dhark asked looking suprised and a bit annoyed since Aeleus had interrupted his grinding. Aeleus pulled up the quest that he had received from the NPC and watched as Dhark''s and Vlad''s faces changed. "Holy shit man! How did you get a quest for a boss monster? Do you know how hard it is to even get a quest?" Vlad excitedly yelled. Dhark was also very suprised at this but asked Aeleus, "Why are you showing us this mission? You must be teasing us..." Aeleus quickly tried to calm Dhark and Vlad down and said, "Not at all, you are misunderstanding me. With how difficult bosses were made there would be no way for me as a Mage with only one spell to solo a boss. Also this quest is shareable so I thought that both of you would be excited to join me, but I guess you must not like it." Dhark''s eyes widened "I was just joking around, that''s all that I was doing." And Vlad hurried to support this. "I''m got pulling your legs, here is the quest, and we will go kill the boss when we turn level 3" Both Vlad and Dhark quickly pressed the accept button, and Aeleus ended the call so that they could go and grind levels. "I should rush level 3 so we can kill the boss as fast as possible" Aeleus started to walk around before he saw some LVL 1 red foxes and started to fight them. Suddenly a huge message popped up in front of Aeleus [You Have Died] "I died? How could I have di--I am so stupid. I wasn''t paying attention to my health bar. If I do this against the boss I will die and fail this mission." Aeleus said depressingly. "Good thing that before level 10 there is no penalty for dying or else I would be level 0..." Aeleus said "Let''s revive and continue grinding" _______________________________________________________________________________________ The Grassy Plains Aeleus''s POV *Ding* You have reached level 2 You have 5 unallocated stat points "Took long enough to reach level 2, Can''t believe I had to kill 10 foxes to get 200 exp" at this point Aeleus called up his character page Name: Aeleus Level: 2 Class: [Novice] Mage Titles: N/A Strength: 5 Defense: 3 Endurance: 5 Wisdom : 6 Intelligence: 6 Dexterity: 5 Luck: 0 Buffs: N/A Stat Points: 5 Aeleus quickly pulled up a guide to a characters stats to see what each one was used for. Strength- The level of a character''s strength determines how much damage a character will deal. The attack damage on a weapon gets added to the level of strength to determine the amount of damage dealt. Defense- This stat determines how much damage will be dealt to a character from incoming physical attacks. The level of defense gets added to a characters overall equipment defense to determine how much damage will be dealt. If the amount of defense is higher than the strength, the person attacking will only deal 50% of the damage. If the defense is lower, the full amount will be dealt to the defending character. Endurance- Determines how long a person can attack for. When increased the total amount of hits that you can deal consecutively goes up. Not to be confused with a combo skill, this stat only determines the amount of swings or casts a person can do at a time. Wisdom- Determines the amount of magic regeneration a character has, also allows characters to see through traps easier and solve puzzles. Intelligence- Determines a characters total magic damage. The magic damage from spells are added to the total level of intelligence to get the total damage from that spell on a critical hit. Normal spells deal 10% less damage then the total intelligence. If the level of intelligence is lower then defense, then the spells damage will be reduced by 35% and if it is higher than defense, an extra 5-10% damage will be added to the total damage. Dexterity- Determines how fast a character can attack, not to be confused with magic cast time as that depends on the level of Magic Affinity. Luck- Determines how often a critical hit will be applied to monsters. The level of luck does not increase odds for lotteries. Having 0 luck makes the critical chance 1%. (As you can see, I went more in-depth for the intelligence and defense stat since our character is a Mage and everyone has a defense stat.) Now knowing everything about all the stats, Aeleus decided to put 3 points in Intelligence, and 2 points in wisdom. Therefore making his intelligence 9, and his wisdom 8. Boosting his damage up by around 2 points and increasing his mana regeneration from 1/ per minute to 1.05/per minute. "Jeez, the increase in mana regen from the additional 2 points in wisdom is so low, guess one world doesn''t want anyone with super high mana regen early in the game." Aeleus said depressingly. Pulling up his skills menu, Aeleus saw that his [Fire Orb] skill increased to 84% from 14%. He only needed around 3 more kills on the red fox to level it to level 2. Continuing on his journey to level 3, Aeleus encountered his first LVL 2 enemy. [Adult Red Fox] LVL 2 HP:125 Mana: 50 Strength:5 Dexterity:5 Skills: Pounce "This level 2 fox has a skill? I wonder what it does" Aeleus said and clicked on the skill to learn more about it. [Pounce] Damage: 5-7 Rank: Unranked Description: Allows the fox to jump 3 meters to an opponent and deal damage to it. Useful for chasing opponents. "This is a pretty good skill for a level 2 monster to have, this makes me wonder about the skills the boss monster will have." Aeleus said worryingly. Quickly casting a [Fire Orb] at the fox Aeleus watched as it smashed into the fox and the red damage numbers floated over the body of the fox. -8 "The extra points in intelligence made my damage increase by a decent amount" Aeleus happily said, but started to look worried as the fox''s eyes turned red and the fox charged at him. The fox quickly used [Pounce] and Aeleus managed to intercept it with a cast of [Fire Orb] dealing another 9 points of damage to the fox lowering its health to 108/125 and him having full HP (100/100). The fox had a speck of anger flash through its eyes and quickly used [Pounce] and attack twice dealing 27 points of damage to Aeleus. "What the hell is up with this foxes damage. Taking out over 20% of my HP in one go. The monsters in this game are truly hard." [Fire Orb] Critical! -15 The fox fell to the floor because of this critical attack and Aeleus fire two more [Fire Orb''s] [Fire Orb] -7 [Fire Orb] -9 By the the time the wolf had gotten back up its health had been reduced to 77/125. The fox now realizing that Aeleus was a real challenge tried to [Pounce] and attack but Aeleus had rolled out of the attack dealing a total of 7 damage. "Ha, this fox isn''t to strong. It''s losing health fast due to my fire orbs." The fox realizing that he had an opportunity, rushed at Aeleus and attacked 3 times, each attack doing 6 damage. This brought Aeleus''s HP down to 48/100. Aeleus now a bit more scared then he was launched 3 consecutive spells right after each other not giving the fox any chance to attack. [Fire Orb] -9 [Fire Orb] -10 [Fire Orb] -7 The fox now was breathing heavily due to its HP being 51/125, it had lost over 50% of its health due to Aeleus''s [Fire Orb] attacks. Pouncing at Aeleus and dealing 5 damage, the fox attacked twice dropping Aeleus''s health by 18. Aeleus casted 2 more [Fire Orb] that smashed into the fox dealing 10 damage each. The fox tried to run away, and seeing this Aeleus casted 4 [Fire Orb]''s dealing 8,10,10,9 damage respectively, and the fox fell down dead. A screen popped up in front of the dead body. Enemy LVL 2 Adult Red Fox has been killed 45 exp gained 20 copper coins gained *Ding* LVL of [Fire Orb] has increased to level 2 Mana cost goes up to 6 per cast Damage rises to 7-12 damage "Finally, took long enough to get this skill to level 2." Glancing at his exp bar Aeleus saw that the fox had given him a decent chunk of EXP. These will help with the boss that Dhark,Vlad, and I will be facing" Opening his friends list, Aeleus saw that both Dhark and Vlad had reached LVL 3 a good amount of time ago and now they were both level 4 halfway to reaching LVL 5. Aeleus quickly started up a group call using the skype function. "Ha, little brother you took a very long time to reach to LVL 3, we reached a long time ago" Vlad said. "Be quiet... I''m not a pro like you guys, of course I would level up slower. Anyway let''s go kill the boss, let''s meet up by the gate to the Plains. "Dhark! Vlad!" Aeleus yelled to get their attention and waved them over. "You guys ready for the boss?" Aeleus said "You know we are" Vlad said, "Let''s go kill it and get the drops" Dhark also agreed with this statement and hurried both of them to where the boss was hiding. "What classes are you guys playing" Aeleus asked curiously "I''m a beastmaster" Dhark replied. Aeleus quickly used the web function and searched up the class review over Beastmaster. Class: Beastmaster Description: The beastmaster is a class recommended for highly experienced players. Depending on what monsters and/or animals the beastmaster has in possession. The most amounts of beasts a beastmaster can obtain depends on his skills. In Panagaea Online, there are certain events that make bosses drop skills although the chance is highly rare, if the skill tome drops, the beastmaster is able to increase his capacity by 1. This event starts the first in-game day and occurs every two weeks. In addition, the beastmaster can choose two paths. The animal path, and the monster path. The animal path is more versatile as their is more animals on my the game. The monster path is more dangerous as monsters deal more damage and can attack faster, animals have higher defense and health. Starting skill: [Capture] [Capture] Depending on the path that the beastmaster is on, allows the beastmaster to capture a monster when it''s hp is less than 10%, with a 5% chance of success.Max number for level 1 is 3. During certain events, a beastmaster will be able to capture a boss with the hp at or less than 1% with a 1% chance of success. [Double Strike] Description: Allows this monster to quickly attack twice and breaking the enemy''s defense. *CAN BE DROPPED (First kill only, 1%) [EVENT] Aeleus quickly shouted "Guys! This boss can drop a skill! We have to get it!" Vlad''s mouth started to water since the skill was perfect for a warrior class like him. "This opportunity won''t come again for a while. The Event for boss dropping skills started when we entered and will finish in about 2 hours. We have to kill him in 2 hours or we can''t get the skill." Dhark said grimly. "Well we better get started" Aeleus enthusiastically said. Pulling out his wand, Aeleus quickly started the battle, and aimed at one of the [Adult Red Foxes]. [Fire Orb] smashed into the fox and quickly dealed 10 damage. Dhark and Vlad grinned and jumped into Battle. [Taunt]! Vlad yelled, [Power Swing]! Dealing another 20 damage to the fox. Dhark on the other hand quickly learned lured in another fox and summoned his [Wolf Pack]. The [Adult Wolf] howled, and the 3 wolves quickly pounced on the [Adult Red Fox], bringing down its hp to around 90/125. On Aeleus''s side, Vlad took out most of the hp of the fox leaving it at 8/125 and Aeleus quickly finished it off with a cast of [Fire Orb].Dhark was quickly commanding his foxes and successfully killed off the other one. Aeleus targeted the last [Adult Red Fox] and casted [Fire Orb] dealing 10 damage. Dhark made his wolves [Pounce] on the fox dealing 37 damage, and Vlad used [Power Swing] and dealt another 20 damage making the hp of the [Adult Red Fox] 58/125. The fox retaliated and quickly took off 30 HP from Vlad, making his HP 115/145. Another combo of [Power Swing],[Fire Orb] and [Pounce] killed the last fox, making it now Dhark,Vlad, and Aeleus vs. [Elder Red Fox] The [Elder Red Fox] stood up and shook its imposing figure over the three adventurers. The fox then jumped down onto the ground and started to circle around the group. "This boss looks so real that it''s making me feel afraid" Aeleus said to the group Dhark quickly checked the time and grimly said "We only have 30 minutes left to kill this boss before its skill doesn''t drop anymore." "Dang it! 30 minutes! That''s hardly enough time to kill this boss" Vlad swore. "We should be able to kill this boss, my mana is full and Dhark has yet to lose a single wolf. Dhark, is there anyway to box the boss in?" Aeleus asked Dhark''s eyes widened "My [Wolf Pack] should be able to box in the boss for some time." "Great, let''s box the boss in and have Vlad be the tank" Aeleus said "Got it, [Wolf Pack]! Surround the boss!" Dhark said, starting the battle. 4 wolves quickly darted forward intent on trapping the boss. The [Elder Red Fox] seeing this, quickly moved out of reach. "Damn it!" Dhark cursed "Didn''t think that the boss would know to move away" Aeleus replied "Well I guess that means that our only option to kill this boss is a straight on attack" "Vlad, can you keep the bosses agro on you" Aeleus asked "You better believe it" Vlad said with a smirk on his face. Rushing forward Vlad quickly used [Taunt] on the fox, forcing the fox to target him. "[Power Slash]!" Dhark yelled. -18 "Che! Thought that my skill would have dealt more damage than that." Vlad said slightly annoyed. The [Elder Red Fox] quickly jumped back and ran a pair of calculating eyes over his adversaries trying to figure out the weakest link of the group. The [Elder Red Fox] suddenly jumped onto his rock formation and started to smash atop the rock. "What is he doing?" Dhark asked. "I don''t know, stay on the lookout" Aeleus replied with a growing pit of unease in his stomach. An adult red fox came darting out the forest. [Pounce] [Pounce] [Double Strike] This time the target was not Aeleus, but Vlad instead. "Shit!" Vlad said as the damage was added up. -17 -21 -28 -26 Left with 18/110, Vlad quickly backed away. "This damage is unreal" Vlad said, drinking 2 minor health potions to fill his hp back. "We need to finish him off, the faster the better" Dhark said. "I agree" Aeleus said "Vlad aggro him!" "Roger!" Vlad replied and quickly casted [Taunt] "[Wolf Pack]! Attack the adult red fox!" Dhark said, and quickly finished off the fox. "Attack the boss now!" Dhark commanded. The bosses hp quickly dropped down to 380/500, the wolf pack dealing a bit more than 100 damage before two were killed by the boss. "Curse it!" Dhark said, pissed at losing half his team. [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] Aeleus quickly casted [Fire Orb] 3 times and dropped the bosses hp down to 347/500. Suddenly, out of nowhere a horn was blown and a group of 10 warriors jumped out the forest. "Leave! This boss is now the guilds boss!" the man in the middle said. Aeleus seeing this quickly retorted "No way! We found this boss first!" "So be it... Attack!" The man in the middle said before rushing forward, his companions not far from him. The group of warriors quickly used [Taunt] all at once and stunned the boss. "Of course! Why didn''t I think of that! If multiple people are forcing the boss to fight them the boss would be confused and be temporarily stunned. With 10 people the stun should be 5 secs." Vlad said with awe in his eyes. The Warriors quickly rushed towards the stunned boss and casted [Power Swing]. This dropped the hp of the boss by around 200, leaving the boss with 173/500. --------------------------- Lead Warriors POV "Ha! This boss is too easy for us, wonder why boss himself didn''t join in on this fight." The warrior thought. "Fandor! This is too easy!" Yelled one of the warriors. The lead warrior, now Fandor, replied "Tell me about it! This is much to easy to be a challenge to us" in a arrogant tone. The fox quickly backed away, out of the stun, eyes blazing red the fox started to bark and quickly grew larger. "Oh shit... [Frenzy]. With its strength being 17, he could instakill everyone hear with two hits. The fox quickly used [Pounce] on the group of warriors and followed up with a [Double Strike] killing seven warriors in two wide arcs. "Wha..What is this? Seven of my brothers gone?" Fandor thought, his eyes quickly filling up with rage, anger, and a touch of bloodlust. "You arrogant beast! Die by my sword! Brothers, avenge our fallen comrades!" Fandor yelled out. The boss was quickly stunned once more, but without ten people the stun only lasted half a second, only enough for the three warriors to cut the wolfs hp in half to around 65/500. The fox quickly used the combo of [Pounce] and [Double Strike] quickly killing off two of the remaining three warriors, leaving the last critically injured. "No... Is this what death feels like?" Fandor said as a huge glowing, red eyes fox bit his body in half, killing him instantly. --------------------- Aeleus''s POV "Damn, even that group of ten soliders couldn''t kill the boss. Good thing the hp left is only at around 60." Aeleus said "We need to finish this battle, the fox can kill us in one hit right now" Dhark said "Vlad draw the aggro and dodge his attack while me and Aeleus will attack the boss, killing him" Aeleus said. "Got it!" Vlad replied and ran towards the boss. [Taunt] [Power Swing] Aeleus and Dhark quickly followed up with a series of [Fire Orb]''s and attacks from the remaining wolfs, killing the boss before he had a chance to defend. Enemy [Elder Red Fox] killed 120 XP gained 50 copper coins dropped Items Dropped: His mouth wide open and drolling Aeleus tossed the sword to Vlad and told him to say the stats. "You did what?" A deathly cold voice said Fandor quickly got on his knees, "I''m sorry boss! I never imagine the boss would have [Frenzy]. That annoying person most likely stole the kill for the boss. "Person?" The voice said "There was a small group of people that were fighting the boss before we got there. However, I managed to get a quick look at his name, Aeleus" Fandor said. "Hmm, Aeleus you say? Interesting, very interesting. You may go." There is nothing nearby to help me kill these foxes, I¡¯m dead!¡±Aeleus thought, but before the foxes attacked him, he felt a very strong wind pass through the forest. Aeleus¡¯s eye¡¯s quickly brightened as he figured out a way to kill all the foxes, but there was a small chance he would also die because of it. [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] Aeleus casted 5 [Fire Orb]¡¯s around the foxes, and watched as they were trapped in a ring of fire. Normally the foxes could just jump over the ring since the spell Aeleus used was Unranked and wasn¡¯t very powerful, but in this case the winds that Aeleus noticed earlier were stoking the fire, and making it bigger. Before long the ring of fire turned into a huge column of fire, and windows were popping up in front of him.

Yes, I want to become a berserker.¡± Said Alex as he used [Taunt] and [Power Strike] once again, this time dealing 70 damage, leaving Brave with 20/150 hp. ¡°You were never my opponent in the first place.¡± Alex said as he swung his sword and killed Brave. Throughout this entire fight, all Aeleus could focus on was how strong Alex was, and if he could beat him. ¡°Alex is the winner, the next fight will be Aeleus versus Salena. Both participants please come down.¡± Said the host Aeleus arrived first and took this time to study his opponent. To his utter surprise, his opponent was also a Mage. ¡°Oh? You also picked the mage class?¡± Salena asked. ¡°That¡¯s right.¡± Said Aeleus ¡°Begin!¡± yelled the host. Without wasting time, Salena casted her spells. [Fire Orb] [Fire Orb] -19 -21 ¡°Your [Fire Orb] spell is pretty strong.¡± Said Aeleus. ¡°Let me show you something stronger.¡± Aeleus said with an evil grin on his face. [Dark Fireball] -39 And quickly followed it up with [Fire Orb] -22 Salena was thrown backwards as 61 damage was dealt to her, leaving her with 64 hp. ¡°Wh¡­ what was that!¡± Salena coughed out. ¡°There is no need for you to know.¡± Aeleus said as he finished her off with another casting of [Dark Fireball] and [Fire Orb]. ¡°The winner, Aeleus!¡± the host yelled. ¡°The final battle shall be between Aeleus versus Alex!¡± Aeleus quickly drank a lower mana potion that was provided to him by the Coliseum so he regained his mana. ¡°Begin!¡± yelled the host. ¡°You¡­ you are different than the others.¡± Said Alex ¡°Yes, I am stronger than the rest.¡± Aeleus said with a dark grin on his face. Not so strong now are you!¡± said Aeleus, getting cocky since he took a little over half of his opponents health in an instant, leaving Alex with 74/150 hp. [Taunt] Alex suddenly retaliated, and Aeleus was pulled towards him. ¡°Dang it!¡± Aeleus thought, as he forgot all about the [Taunt] ability. [Power Strike] -70 Aeleus fell to the ground having only 55/125 hp left. ¡°He can kill me in one more [Taunt] [Power Strike] combo, what can I do, what can I do¡± thought Aeleus, furiously racking his brain for any ideas. Quickly jumping backwards, Aeleus opened up his inventory and quickly drank both his health potions, putting him back at 95/125 hp. ¡°At least he won¡¯t be able to kill me in one combo anymore.¡± [Fire Orb] MISSED This time, Alex simply moved out of the way and the [Fire Orb] missed him. ¡°Shoot, forgot that spells are easier to dodge than sword strikes.¡± Aeleus said, getting depressed before another idea popped into his head. [Summon Pet] Aeleus¡¯s LVL 1 [Albino Red Fox] appeared next to him, and looked at him for directions. ¡°Bite him in the back of his leg, and don¡¯t let go.¡± Aeleus commanded. The fox quickly ran to Alex, and Alex still surprised that his opponent had a pet didn¡¯t move and the fox was able to clamp down behind his leg. -10 [Dark Fireball] [Fire Orb] -45 -21 Aeleus aimed the spells high enough to hit the opponent but also so that it wouldn¡¯t damage his pet. ¡°Winner! Aeleus!¡± yelled the host. ¡°Here¡¯s your prize kid, use it wisely.¡± Said the host as he threw the magic stone towards him. Aeleus caught the stone and put it in his inventory, and felt a deep sense of accomplishment since he beat Alex, who beat Brave. Therefore, making him stronger than Brave. ¡°Serves him right for what he did to me. After some walking, Alex and Aeleus reached the spawn point of the [Elder Wolf] boss. The spawn point was a huge cave that was pitch black on the inside and player¡¯s were not allowed to enter. The boss seemed to respawn quickly as many of the players from before were now gone, headed to the next village. There were only around 5 people left, not including Alex and Aeleus. ¡°Hey Aeleus, isn¡¯t that guy over there the same guy who lost to me in the tournament?¡± Alex said looking to the left. ¡°Guy he beat in the tournament? His name was¡­¡± Aeleus started to say as he turned his head left as well. ¡°Brave!¡± Aeleus suddenly shouted, causing Brave and the other 4 people to look over. ¡°Look who it is, the weak little mage.¡± Brave said with an arrogant smirk on his face. ¡°Ignore him, he¡¯s not worth your time.¡± A familiar voice said. ¡°Kyrs¡­¡± Aeleus angrily said as he clenched his teeth and his grip on his wand tightened. The girl¡¯s face was deeply burned into Aeleus¡¯s mind as she betrayed him earlier in the game. ¡°Don¡¯t even think about it, Aeleus. This boss is ours.¡± Kyrs said turning her head towards the [Elder Wolf] that respawned and exited the cave and charged towards them.
