 Prologue : The birth of the second child

    Late at night, the rain was pouring down like a waterfall at the Lin clan''s domain.

    The Lin clan


    Once considered as one of the 4 great clans who helped the first founder of the zhu empire.


    It could be said that the 4 clans were once powerful. In the legends left, they said that each clan head had at the very least reached the martial lord realm.


    After establishing the Zhu dynasty,  the 4 clans rose in power. The emperor gifted each one of them a district to rule over in the imperial capital and some domains.

    They were considered as the top clans, those who have the right to govern others and establish themselves in the imperial capital, and the privilege to defend the Zhu dynasty from every threat.


    However, reality is sometimes harsh.


    In the last 200 years, the 4 great clans gave birth to multiple geniuses, only the Lin clan was an exception.


    And from that time till now, the other clans conspired against the Lin clan, and finally drove him away from the imperial capital taking at the same time their power, influence, and territories.


    The last clan head was Lin Fang, he was now over 40 years old, he was stuck at the 9th level of the Mortal stage .


    With their power and influence stolen from them, the Lin clan fled to their last domain, in the small city Bowen.

    The small city of Bowen was currently preparing for the festivities.


    The Wang clan was holding a grand ceremony for the engagement of their young master with Lin Mei.


    All of the small clans were invited for the fest inside the wang clan''s manor.


    " Congratulation clan head Wang! I never doubted that one day you dragon like son would undoubtedly be a rising star! It seems the heaven are really siding with your clan! "

    But how could a declining clan with no ressources be able to compete with a rising clan who controls more than half of the city?


    Thus everyone inside their hearts , knew that the Lin clan can only survive by relying on an alliance with the wang clan for the sake of the future.

    Lin Mei  was crying inside her room.


    After hearing that she would be engaged to the wang clan young master, she felt as if the world crumbeled.


    She had met with Wang Wuji once before, after all he was the one who bullied her brother everytime they met on the streets.


    Wang wuji was originaly at the 5th level of the warrior realm, his comprehension and cultivation process was slower than Lin Mei who managed to cultivate to the 8th level by herlself. But Wang wuji on the other hand relied on his clans ressources  and he managed to get to the 9th level in less than a year , he was now twelve years old and the strongest junior in Bowen city followed by Lin Mei .


    Lin Mei didn''t have anything against Wang Wuji at first when he was beneath her, infact she was very kind to him and treated him nicely, she even gave him pointers on cultivation. But everything changed when he rose to the 9th level, he considered everyone but Lin Mei as a trash, even her own brother.

    Finally, his continuous efforts and researches bore fruit. He managed to shut down the formation! It was all due to luck, the formation only had about 0.2% of it''s energy left and if left alone in 20 years it would have disapeared, but he didn''t know this facts .


    To his surprise, he didn''t find any treasure of some kind, just a weird old man chained with golden shackles .


    He approched him carefully and said with a low voice


    " Mister, are you alive?? "


    but the old man didn''t respond at all.


    He then tried to wake him with a slap


    " DAAAAAAAAAMMMNNN, HOW DARE YOU YOU PIEECE OF SHIIIT ! LET ME OUT SO THAT I CAN EAT YOUR FUC***** HEARTS YOU BASTARDS! "


    At his surprise, Lin Chen fell to the floor trembling


    How could an old man be alive all this time in this trove where no one dares to enter?!


    He tought for a moment and then said


    " Mister, are you a demon? "


    The old man looked at him with his eyes bloodshot and a weird grin on his face and then burst into laughter


    " BUWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, That''s the funniest joke i''ve ever heard in about 3 million years! HAHAHAHAHA "


    Lin Chen was stupified, 3 million years?? if he was not a demon what could he possibly be???


    Lin Chen only heard that demons had a very long life span; but he didn''t dare to believe that a demon had 3 millions years, was this old man just a crazy guy? But then again, why was he chained in this trove...


    Numerous questions continued to pop in his head, but he soon was waken up but the old man voice again

    He unwillingly came back to the formation room, and like the first time he found the old man taking a nap while beeing chained. He found this very funny.


    Like the first time, he slapped the old man who woke up while spouting some insults.

    Lin Chen felt like suffocating, he could barly stand up, and when he saw the red eyes of the old man he felt fear for the first time.

    The suffocating atmosphere finally ended and everything went back to normal.


    " Now let''s begin kid! "


    " .... i have one more condition senior, if you could fulfill it, then forget about the two other conditions, hell even if it costs my life it won''t matter ! "

    Lin Fang was sitting on his knees , incapable of believing what happened


    When Lin Mei saw him like that she rushed next to him and heard him muttering


    " How... How could that be he is here .... i have failed! "

    However Lin fang was unable to hear her small gentle voice,


    He was currently trapped in his toughts. Unresigned to accept the harsh reality.


    But what was the truth behind this old demon?


    Only him knew who ... or what it was.

    " Little kid, you''re really unlucky to have sun a disloyal son. But then again, it''s your fault if all of this happened "


    The old man wasn''t speaking to Lin chen, but to Lin fang. However considering Lin fang was over 50 years old now, people wondered who he was speaking with.

    " Hahahaha, i"ve dreamed to see this day for millions of years ! The Heaven Sealing clan will finally cease to exist from this world . HAHAHAHAHA "

    Numerous questions raised from the lin clan members and the people who survived the calamity, but only Lin fang was astonished to the point of vomiting blood.


    " However do not fret , i will not kill that little girl today, and neither you. It seems your little boy still holds you both in his heart. "

    He then turned around and smiled towards the survivers.


    Lin fang understood what he meant, and stood up quickly and said in a hurry voice

    But it was too late, with a casual flip from his hands, flame consumed the earth and everyone burned.

    He then went near his father and bowed then sayed in a cold tone.


    " Goodbye father, i am not sorry for what i did today. But i am sorry for having been unable to reach your expectations . "


    Lin fang''s hair turned white, he muttered

    Then the old man went down and grabbed lin chen by his arm, and with the other hand he oppened a dark portal.


    " Let''s go, there is still a lot of things you should understand , and a lot of people to meet  hahahaha .... "


    Both  figures crossed the portal and disapeared.


    In this grand calamity who took the lives of thousands of people in the small city of Bowen , only Lin Fang and Lin Mei and Wang wuji were able to survive.

    " It is time for you to inherit this power... "


    Lin Fang stood up from his bed while his hands were shaking, and then gently carressed the head of Lin Mei and then a small light came from his hand.


    " My dear daughter, i''m sorry for not being a good father.... i hope that someday you can forgive me , and if possible find lin chen and ask him to .... "


    But lin Mei couldn''t hear anything, she felt exhausted and then fainted.


    In her dreams, she felt like time has stopped. A giant book appeared from nowhere, and then the first page oppened

    First chapter: Unsealing the body


    After the words appeared, they become glowing like gold. Lin Mei felt  her mind  gaining a new cultivation methode.


    Then she woke up.


    Wang wuji was standing there shaking her

    She suddenly remembered everything , and said


    " ... It was not a dream ? "

    She turned around and saw him sleeping silently with a smile on his face


    She tried desperatly to wake him up but  no response came from his cold body


    Wang wuji who silently observed her crying didn''t bother her or ask her anything . He just stood there completely silent.


    After some time, Lin Mei turned around and saw wang wuji still standing there.


    " ... wuji... "


    " Mei, i''m sorry for your loss... your father before you woke up gave me this letter for you and told me... he told me that he was sorry for not telling the truth earlier. "


    Little Mei abruptely took the letter from Wuji''s hands, and then read it.

 Chapter 5 : Unforeseen Change

    Lin Mei and Wang Wuji were travelling day and night to the north.


    Of course, they had to pass to several small cities in the way to the Imperial capital.


    From time to time, they also camped outside in the forests ;


    " wuji, let''s stop here tonight to rest. "

    Wuji , along the road was dead silent. From time to time he answered, but he was not talkative at all.


    That rose suspicions in Lin Mei''s heart, why would her father tell her to take care of him and trust him along the way?

    Girls in this age were just begining to develop, body and mind. They keep thinking about their beauty, the way they talk change, but for Lin Mei even tough she knew that was going to happen to her, she was unwilling to change.


    As to why? the tragedy that occured not long ago, her brother who left with the unknown demon, her father who died while passing her his legacy. She was emotionaly still unstable.


    Trying to forget about the past events, she kept practicing the first chapter of the Heaven Sealing Art secretly when wuji was hunting beasts  in the small forest. Until some days ago when she finally broke through the 9th layer of the warrior realm and finished the first chapter.


    When the user finishs building his new body, the cultivation will decrease by two folds.


    That means that right now Lin Mei incredible progress in the martial art will slow down at a pace that even normal people can easly outrank her.


    Lin Mei wasn''t sad at all, she was excited.


    Of course the reason was because now she can enjoy the benefits of cultivating with a perfect body, that also means that right now she can fight against someone who broke through the mortal realm first layer without loosing ! Fighting quantity with quality .


    However to her surprise, the Second chapter popped immediatly in her head!


    " Unsealing the chains ", cufflinks appeared in both her hands with small broken chains  , she was at first surprised, she didn''t know how to explain this to Wuji when he came back.


    When he appeared , he too was shocked. Apparently the chains were visible.


    But what shocked her the most , was the uneasyness in wuji''s eyes. He looked like a fearful beast who refuses to go near this chains.


    What was this chains for?


    Lin Mei couldn''t tell him everything so she only told him that it was her cultivation technique without giving details, and he didn''t seem bothered by her explanation. But he still kept his distance from her, afraid somewhat.


    The first chapter intituled "unsealing the body" was essentially talking about building anew the meridians and the muscles inside the host''s body. Making it strong enough to withstand the "side effects" of the technique.


    Were this chains side effects? It didn''t seems so, but then again this whole book is a secret manual from the ancient times.


    The chains were the legacy that was left by the ancestors to the new possessor of the Heaven Sealing Art manual. It seems that the second chapter talked briefly about it, they were simply unbreakable as long as the user didn''t use it on someone on a high realm than himself.

    The cufflinks and the chains will appear on the 9th layer of the warrior realm, but by reaching  the 5th layer of the mortal realm, the user can hide it and make it appear whenever he choose to.


    But the chapter didn''t end with the brief paraghraph about the chains.


    The chains lenght was about 20 inchs (half meter) ; but they could change and become longer as long as the user wishs to.


    Lin Mei tried to test this out to see the maximum she can reach, so she went somewhere far from the camp and then began her practice.


    She tried to concentrate in her mind until the image of her chains appeared, she oppened her eyes and the chains lenght went from the 20 inchs to 200 inchs in the blink of the eye ( 5 meters, let me know if you like to read inch or meter in the comments ).


    After testing out various ways to use the chains, Lin Mei went back to the camp so as to not worry Wuji .


    Wuji didn''t seem bothered by her absence, in fact he was sitting on a stone with his eyes fixed on the fire.


    Lin Mei was convinced that his attitude was weird, she really wanted to help him so she tried to  initiate a conversation with him.


    " Wuji ? "


    But he didn''t respond.


    " ... "


    " Wuji, i know that what happened to our home must have left some really bad memories in your heart. But you have to ..."


    She didn''t finish her sentence, and wuji suddenly stood up.


    His  eyes were red as a flame of fire, he roared like a beast with all his might, and then he began punching the stone where he was sitting.


    Lin Mei was frightened but she still stood up and tried to stop him from hurting himself, but when her hands tried to reach his back, he turned around and took her by the wrists, then both of them crumbeled in the floor.


    Lin Mei was beneath him, she tried to get up but she couldn''t muster any strengh.


    " Wuji, stop! please get a hold of yourself! "


    But wuji didn''t listen at all, he was like a mad beast.


    " You, you and you''re damn brother! If it weren''t for you my family would still be alive ! "


    " ... "


    " Why , just WHY GODDAMMIT!  WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE MY PARENTS ! "


    Lin Mei couldn''t respond to what wuji said, she was feeling depressed and sad. The scar in her heart began to open again.


    " I shouldn''t have tried to bring up this topic again ... it''s my fault " was what she was currently thinking.


    Then silently she took his head with her arms and embrassed him withing her chest.


    Wuji was suprised at first, he cried madly on top of her, and so did she .


    Lin Mei wasn''t bothered by him, she felt that this guy was the same one she encountered the first time. For the first time she finally found someone who shares the same pain as her.


    And then they slowly began to fell asleep....

    Btw, i didn''t lie when i said that i was going to post next month, i was talking about the next month not this one and still have 15 days until my comeback .


    I sadly have more work so until these 15 last days, i probably can''t post anything. But i will try my best.

 Chapter 6 : Elder Qinxue

    The next morning, Wuji woke up early.


    He was sleeping next to Lin Mei embracing her , he quickly stood up separating himself from her.


    One could see how much he was embarassed just by looking at his "red tomato" face.


    " Just, what did i do ??!! "


    As he tried to recall what happened last night, he saw the sleeping face of Lin Mei, smiling and drooling at the same time, she slowly muttered.


    " Baked sweet potatoe... mmmm... "


    She then tried to bite at the place where Wuji was sleeping, but found nothing there.


    Black lines appeared in Wuji''s fronthead and then said


    " So even in your dreams , you see me as food ... huh... "


    Even  though he was mad , his lips curled up , and a hint of a smile appeared in his face.


    " Very well then, at the very least, i shall bring you some food before you wake up .... "


    He then went to the forest, silently.

    Inside Lin Mei''s head, she was currently dreaming of her past home.


    When her father and brother were still beside her.


    When she had not yet learned martial arts.


    They were happy, everyone was happy.


    Her father sometimes when he had free time from his responsabilities as a clan head he often made her baked sweet potatoes, it could be said that this memory was very important to her,  she cherished it.


    When suddenly, the atmosphere changed.


    A powerful yellow ondulations resoned inside her head, it made her want to scream in pain.


    A beautiful figure floating in the air stood before her and said


    " Finally! Someone who i can synchronise with appeared in this countless millennia ! "


    The beautiful fairy then approched her and said with a smiling face


    " Child, you are lucky! You should wake up now... "


    And then darkness slowly engulfed her, and her consciousness fade away.

    When she woke up, Lin Mei was still trying to recall this dream.


    " Was it really just a dream .... "


    Then suddenly, she smelled something nice, and turned around.


    On top of the rock where Wuji was hitting yesterday, they was baked sweet potatoes.

    But then again, Lin Mei in this past few days was training with all her might, since the appearence of the chains.


    She didn''t have time to eat, so when she saw the same food that she dreamed about, she began drooling like a cute child who wants to reach sweets.


    " hahahaha ... so this is the face that you make when you see something you dream about ? "


    When she heard this sentence, Wuji slowly appeared behind a nearby tree, laughing.


    At first she was suprised to see him, and then she recalled last night events, she had a somewhat complicated face...


    After a few seconds she finally responded with a seemingly angry tone.


    " Does that make you laugh !But ... how did you know that i .... "


    Before she finished speaking, he calmly said .


    " Don''t be angry, you are the one who said she wanted to eat this while sleeping ... so i went to the nearest city and brought them for you . Because you know ... last night ... "


    He then stopped speaking and turned around


    " Anyway, eat quickly, i have to tell you some news afterwards ... "


    And the he leaped over towards the forest like a tiger.


    She was baffeled, and didn''t know what to say anymore.


    With a slow sight , she stood up, and went to take the sweet potatoes.


    Then she suddenly heard another laugh.


    At first she turned around, she tought it was Wuji mocking her again.


    But then she found nothing .


    " Child, don''t be afraid, i''m not going to hurt you, i''m inside your head ... "


    Lin mei froze in the spot, and then thought : This voice .... it was the same as the one in my dream !


    " who are you ? "


    Then the fairy image appeared infront of her like she was real, at the same time it gave off the feeling that she is seeing a ghost.


    " My name ... you can call me Elder Qinxue ... i''m the 6th descendant of the legacy, and also Heaven Sealing Art manual previous owner! "
