 Book One - Martial Dao of Elements (Prologue)

    The world is divided in to the great elements. Water-fire-air-earth-darkness-light. The world was peaceful and mankinds knowledge on the elements was rapidly growing. The world had many great masters who followed the path of soul cultivation. They all walked the path of martial dao, where they believed in the balance of yin and yang.


    Ater a couble of centuries an elite master was born. This boy controlled the 7th great power, time & space. When the boy was 19 he had almost fully mastered the power of time & space. But an all mighty master from beyond the earth sensed the ripple in the time & space element, this master was a Duke known as the Great Sage.


    Feeling how strong his opponent was he started to feel pressure for the first time in almost a century. Earth had already grown extremely formidable, a side from the high number of experts, they had many creative minds who made an astonishing amonut of treasures and almighty artifacts. Now that they had a time & space user he decided to eliminate the threat before it got out of hand. He sent beasts from the elements of fire, wind, and darkness, all elements have there own beasts with there own abilities.


    The fire consists of mostly dragon beasts, wind is mostly falcons, and darkness is the most mysterious of all the elements. Very little is known about it besides that its shadow manipulation.


    The Great Sage then established a time & space teleportation array connected to Earth and sent horde after horde of beasts to earth. After just 2 years, the first battle was coming to an end. The earths time & space user was defeated in battle along with over sixty percent of mankind.


    But right before he died he used the rest of his qi and life force to create a time & space barrier that covered the whole planet from out side entities. The Great Sages teleportation array was blocked and now he couldn''t send anymore hordes to Earth nor could he come here himself. When he sensed the time & space array he flew into a rage and ordered the remaining beasts to eliminate all the humans.


    A year later the rest of the master cultivators banned together and formed an alliance. Together they cleard a old town and started to fortify and rebuild. Day by day more and more people kept joing them.


    After 5 years they had established a great strong city. But they had lost more then sixty percent of their cultivation research, treasures and artifacts. Then during the 6th year sense the start of the war, the beasts launched a full attack with beasts from all three elements. Both sides suffered greatly but in the end the beasts emerged victorious. With the human race on the brink of extinction, the surviors of the city continued to fight the beasts. Eventually they all baracaded themselves inside a mountain that was behind the city and they all went back to cultivating to get stronger. Its been a eleven years since that day.


    Now inside the mountain range is a magnificent city that spans for at least forty miles. This is Bedrock village, in Bedrock there are four districts; A,B,C, and D. In Bedrock cultivation strength determines ones placing in the districts, so it''s a constant struggle for power in the B,C, and D districts as each clan struggles for more power.

    On a far end of a mountian, out side the district borders there was a boy who sat on a stone meditating. He was about 17 years old, his name was Kuro Ryuu he was a tall slender man with brown shaggy hair. He was a prodigy cultivator, for the last three years he had studied and trained at the Soul Academy and even despite the lack of resources and clan support, he was always top of his class. But now he was bottle necked and couldn''t advance to the next rank, cultivation was a delicate and slow process but he had been stuck in the Waxing Moon realm for over a year and a half already! He was starting to get frustrated as he sat and tried to clear his mind.


    As Ryuu sat and cultivated he could sense something new forming in his soul realm, it had a light that made his whole soul realm glow with a black and gold metallic luster.


    As he focused on the spinning ring in his soul realm he heard a loud boom from within his soul, his whole body ached with pain but he continued to focus on the ring. His soul realm started to crack, through these cracks came a dazzling white light, as he concentrated on the ring in his soul realm he fell into a profound state.


    It felt as though he was surrounded by endless darkness, as his mind cleared 7 dots appeared in the shape of a cross. The dot on top was gold in color and was glowing brighter and brighter. The 6 on the out side had a rainbow lusters then the colors merged and made 5 dots turn white. Then the blue dot in the middle started to rapidly grow, as it came in contact with the other 6 dots they each exploded with dazzling light.


    When the light faded Ryuu couldnt believe his eyes. In front of him was a blue see through orb, on the top of the orb was a huge beautiful golden palace with a pearl white wall surronding it. Around the palace there was a gorgeous town. And coming from this picturesque kingdom, was a rainbow like ora that flowed out of it.


    It instantly warmed and soothed Ryuu whole body starting in the middle of his forehead flowing all the way down to his toes. After seeing the magnificent orb of lights, he thought to himself "I want to see the town" right at that moment he disappeared and reappeared on a street in the middle of the town. While looking at his feet he could see through the orb to the other side, where he could faintly see a white building.


    As Ryuu looked up from his feet he saw he was standing in the middle of the street. To the left was a white building with six enormous marble pillars that were draped with inscriptions that glowed with a rainbow luster.

 Book One - The Mysterious Ring

    As he turned he realized, including the one under him there were 4 more identical white buildings just like the one next to him.


    A little dazed Ryuu walked to the doors of the building to his left and opened the front doors. As he pushed the french doors open he cautiously stepped in.


    Ryuu was confused as he thought ''what is this place?'' Inside was a giant empty metal cage with a sealing inscription. Ryuu checked the other 4 buildings and found the same thing.


    Seeing there was nothing else in side Ryuu decided to go to the palace. As he approached the gate he felt the qi get several times thicker. The energy made Ryuu gasp for breath as he strained to stay meditating, as he approached the gate he put out his hands and touched it. With a gentle push the two gates slowly opened.


    When Ryuu saw inside he was speechless, in front of him was the most beautiful garden the trees and exquisite flowers grew straight out of the blue orb.


    Running through the whole courtyard was a small gently flowing river that led to a little pond with two koi fish, one was white with an orange dot on its head and the other was orange with a white dot on its head. They swam in circles around one another, in front of a small black and white temple.


    ''I wonder what this could be'' Ryuu thought inwardly, as he slid open the door to the mysterious temple. Inside, the left wall was white and the right wall was black, on the floor they merged together forming a perfect yin and yang.


    The more Ryuu looked around this place the more baffled he became. The elders always said to ''try and visualize your soul'' but before Ryuu was ever only able to see a bright blue orb but it was always to blurry, he could never see it clearly.


    Could this really be his soul? He couldn''t believe it. Ryuu decide to go and check out the palace to get some more answers. As he approached the golden palace he could feel the qi getting stronger with every step, when he reached the palace doors the qi was so thick he could barely stand.


    As he once again put out his hands and pushed open the doors. As they opened a strong gust of wind rushed out making Ryuu stagger back a few steps. When the wind died down he became even more curious, as he peered inside to a large empty white and gold room with only a small alter with a ring lightly floating above the altar.


    Engraved on the inside of the ring were 3 words ''Ancestral Oracle Ring''. Ryuu repeated this in his head ''Ancestral Oracle Ring'' at that moment he felt a surge in his soul realm as it rapidly doubled in size again.


    As he focused on the three words the ring floated higher into the air. After floating up a few feet it emitted a bright white light, that made him cover his eyes and step back. Then a vortex sucked Ryuu into the center of the ring.

    When Ryuu opened his eyes he was in a giant void filled with extraordinary energy, it was extremely rich and nourishing and as vast as the ocean, it was constantly filling and expanding his soul realm.


    As he floated over the horizon he could see a bright orange and pink sky in the distance. As as he floated closer, the light became more and more fierce until he had to again cover his eyes.


    Then in his head he heard a voice ''Ryuu, Ryuu can you hear me?'' The voice said. ''Who''s there?'' Replied Ryuu a bit dazed as he tried to look but could see no one.


    ''Good you''re awake, now pay attention boy'' said the mysterious voice. Just as his words cut off Ryuu slowly blinked his eyes open as they adjusted to the light he found himself standing in an enormous library filled with ancient books and scrolls.


    In the corner was a small desk with one journal and a note, as Ryuu inspected the room the mysterious voice sounded again, "Ryuu you have proven yourself worthy, after honing your mind, body, and soul as one and reaching a perfect yin yang balance. The Ancestral Oracle Ring has recognized your pure soul and has unlocked thanks to your bloodline connection. You are now the third owner of the Ancestral Oracle Ring!"


    Ryuu was confused at the voices words, what was so special about his bloodline? Both of his parents died in the first war against the beasts so he has no memory of any family, and what the hell''s up with this ancestral ring?


    As if the voice could tell what he was thinking he said "To explain I''ll need to start from the beginning, listen closely boy."


    "Your father Kuro Dosojin was a genius cultivator, he discovered a ancient, forgotten technique and mastered it on his own before he was 20, that and his rare dragon bloodline made him one of the strongest sages of this era. During the great war your father learned the truth behind the beast hordes attacks. Using his special technique he traveled back in time almost a millennium, there he found the Earth submerged in a qi so thick it was like the whole world was submerged in an ocean. With several billion cultivators worldwide! with masters far above anything the Earth had now, due to its incomplete techniques. As your father entered my time he stumbled across a group of men trying to capture a rare species of dragon with time and space attributes, a spatium tempus dragon. The hunters planned to enslave the dragon and use him as a weapon. Your father charged the men, using shadow strands he restrained them and deactivated their barrier. Then he placed his hand on the dragons side and in a blink of an eye vanished. Dosojin teleported the dragon away, a few seconds later they both reappeared in a secluded valley a few miles away."

 Book One - The Spatium Tempus Kogane Dragon

    ¡°When the dragon saw what the man had done he figured the man was going to take him for himself, but instead the man just turned and started to walk away. The dragon was in disbelief, for this was the first human who had not tried to capture or kill him since his friend Akamiko.


    So the dragon called out and asked "that¡¯s it?" The man just turned and said "Actually do you know where the closest town is?" As he scratched his head and smiled.


    The dragon roared as he laughed, this human was truly remarkable he reminded him of his old friend, the dragon then approached the man and placed his front right hand on the mans head, the man stood motionless as the dragon closed his eyes.


    Several moments later he opened his eyes wide and narrowed his brows, astonished at not only this mans memories but even more shocked by his bizarre body he had a primordial dragon bloodline, and on top of that he was also a time & space user, he was incredibly unique." Ye Mo explained.


    "Just what does this half to do with me? Who is this dragon anyways, why is he so important?" Asked Ryuu a little impatiently.


    "Insolence!" Roared Ye Mo, as a small stone on one of the desk started to emit a thin cloud of gold smoke, it filled the room as it started to materialize, a huge proud and majestic figure with 4 large limbs with at least 10 inch. claws with huge golden wings & large black spikes covering its whole back. It stood almost 15 meters high all made of smoke, the smoke emitted a black and gold luster surrounding its body.


    As it roared "Because I Ye Mo am the Spatium Tempus Kogane dragon, the deity guardian of the Ancestral Oracle Ring!"


    Ryuu froze as he starred at the majestic creature before him, then after a minute he timidly asked "Guardian?"


    Ye Mo nodded and continued "The master who created the Ancestral Oracle Ring was ¡®The Elemental Sage Akamiko Moto'' he was an amazing sage who used his time & space power to travel the five great galaxies. While exploring the Andromeda galaxy he met a mighty sage who taught him how to open the final form of awakening, ''mystical awakening'' with this he became one with the universe, awakening at the level of ultimate reality, the ground of being. He was the first person to reach mystical awakening from Earth, becoming The Great Elemental Sage.


    As he continued his journey he went to the Draco Dwarf galaxy, there he found an egg with mysterious inscriptions on it, he brought it back to Earth and after nursing and nourishing the egg I was hatched, after that I made a blood soul sealing contract and became infused with master Akamikos soul.


    Then, so my soul could have a bigger place to rome and be safe from hunters, master Akamiko made me the Ancestral Oracle Ring and binded my bloodline to it.


    But after master passed,  the ring was no longer sealed away; so many men waged war over the ring. So I decided to protect the ring, it wasn¡¯t till 160 years later that I met your farther and he became the ring and I''s second master.


    Together we cultivated and explored, we came across many temples and palaces filled with rare treasures, journals, and scrolls. Your father started a collection of rare items. Then one day on a journey through the death valley desert we came across an enormous marble structure protruding from the ground. After inspecting it we found a way in.

    Using earth style he raised the library out of the sand. Then after removing the sand, Dosojin placed a time and space teleportation array sealing inscription around the building then he transported the whole building into the Ancestral Oracle Ring and binded it to the ring, the salvageable research from the library added to your fathers research is unrivaled." explained Ye Mo.


    "Teleport a whole building into a ring? Just what in the hell is this place?" Said Ryuu who was still a little dazed.


    "The Ancestral Oracle Ring is no ordinary piece of jewelry, it''s a mighty ancient treasure, that has its own void attribute realm."


    "Void attribute?" Asked Ryuu.


    Ye Mo chuckled and said "void means heavenly energy, to cultivate you¡¯ve been using your own qi energy and the thin amount of earthly energy around you. Before your farther sealed the Earth The Great Sage had been secretly absorbing the earths earthly energy, for he needs a vast amount of heavenly and earthly energy for his time & space body seal.


    After so many years of earthly energy constantly being absorbed the energy thinned greatly weakening the new treasures, and artifacts, and made cultivating much harder.


    To compensate masters of void started to make void artifacts to help aid cultivating, and with this the humans had the first Star level masters. Before that no one was able to cultivate past the Celestial Sun realm, this also helped the Earth save up and restore its earthly energy.


    The Ancestral Oracle Ring was created by one of the strongest void users, and one of the first Astral star realm experts from Earth. This ring is one of the strongest void artifacts in this galaxy, Akamiko exhausted weeks of energy to create a separate realm inside the ring for the soul purpose of cultivating.


    Inside this void realm he created a giant sphere about a quarter the size of earth then submerged 2/3 of it in a ocean of heavenly energy; which is where you were when you first entered this space. Then he covered the other 1/3 with an island filled with medicinal herbs from four of the five great galaxies, that are perfect for speeding up cultivation and healing. He even made a small sun that revolves around the sphere, so it all continues to grow naturally."


    As Ye Mo talked Ryuu¡¯s eyes started to light up, as he now more or less was starting to understand just how powerful this ring truly is.

 Book One - The Hodded Man

    As Ryuu was thinking about all the accumulated knowledge in the library, he couldn¡¯t help shaking with anticipation.


    As Ye Mo continued to speak, ¡°Then in Dosojins 7th year in the past, another crisis broke out as meteors fell from the sky for 4 days and 3 nights. When they finally stopped over half of the worlds sages were lost.


    Then the same night the meteors stopped, the attacks began. In a single night almost every cultivator was annihilated.


    In a rage Dosojin started searching the planet for the culprit, then after 2 days of searching he found a man who was destroying villages one by one.


    Your father charged the man, but in a flash of light he vanished.


    Your father tracked him for 2 days but was always one step behind, after seeing village after village burned to the ground he was at his boiling point.


    Then on the 3rd day when he was about give up, he saw a beam of light in the distance. As he raced over to where the beam of light was he could sense all the earthly energy was being sucked in. The beam of light was like a bottomless pit that was constantly sucking in all the surrounding energy.


    When your father got to the base of the light, he found the hooded man once again. The hooded man slowly turned as he said ¡°I congratulate you on finding me, but you¡¯re too late. I¡¯ve already got what I needed from this puny planet.¡±


    ¡°And what exactly is that?¡± Dososjin asked angrily, ¡°why the planets energy of course.¡± The hooded man said casually.


    ¡°Energy?! You mean you destroyed our planet and killed my people, for god damn earthly energy?!¡± Dosojin couldn¡¯t suppress his anger any more and pounced towards the man in the hood.


    But before he even realized what happened the hooded man was already behind him, with a single stroke he struck Dosojin in the back with his palm. Then bombarded his soul realm with void energy trying to destroy his soul, if it wasn¡¯t for your fathers abnormal soul size and Primordial Kage dragon bloodline his soul would have exploded and he would have been torn to shreds from the inside out.

    ¡°As a reward for making it this far I wont finish you. But you¡¯ll never cultivate again.¡± said the hooded man with a hint of malice in his voice.


    ¡°You bastard! Just who in the hell are you?¡± demanded Dosojin as he winced in pain. The man slowly turned as he chuckled and said with a sneer "I am the Great Sage!" he then turned into a flash of light that shot into the air and disappeared.


    Your father laid there in tears as he cursed The Great Sage, as he finally understood what brought upon the first dark era when Earth had lost almost all knowledge on soul cultivation, and almost all the sage clans disappeared.


    After Your father had learned about The Great Sage and about the earthly energy. Your fathers plan was to bring the lost knowledge of the dark era back to his time and stop him.


    So after 7 years your father returned to his time, he traveled back to the same time and place from when he had left. With the world still at war everything was to chaotic, fearing his death he sealed the ring in his 1 year old son and asked me to watch over you and one day decide if you¡¯re pure hearted and deserving to possess the Ancestral Oracle Ring.


    After coming back The Great Sage once again sensed the ripple in time & space. Sensing the time & space user he ordered the beasts to kill him.


    About two months after that it was made known that the great ''Dosojin the Shadow'' had fallen in battle. It is said in his final battle he fended off six yellow dwarf realm beasts to save the people from a small fleeing village.


    Right before Dosojin died he used his remaining qi and life force and created the time & space barrier that protects the planet, even now from the Great Sage."

 Book One - Memory Mirror

    ¡°It was your fathers intent that one day you would take over where he failed. Its been 16 years since he asked me to watch you, and I thinks it¡¯s time we see if you¡¯re worthy." Ye Mo said proudly.


    ¡°Everyday sense your father past away his time & space barrier array has been slowly weakening and the Great Sage has been constantly pressuring the barrier. It wont be long before it breaks and the Great Sage can send more beasts to Earth. The barrier should hold for at least three more years, so we better get started."


    He then pointed to a mirror with a beautiful decorative wooden frame and said "this is known as the memory mirror, look into the mirror and you will see your memory selves, you must distinguish and organize these, if you cant figure your true self out in sixty minutes you¡¯ll be trapped in the mirror forever."


    "Memory selves? Organize? what is he talking about?" Wondered Ryuu. But he obediently walked up to the mirror, as he starred at his reflection the mirror started to ripple.


    Then he heard Ye Mo say ¡°you must find the true ones. Oh! and one is your hate and he will attack and try to kill you!¡±


    Then before he could react his mind got sucked into the mirror, leaving his body on the other side. He was then inside the reflection of the library separated by the once again solid mirror, as he looked at the mirror he saw he was just a floating blue cloud.


    As Ryuu turned to look out into the room a man in all black stood looking at a book, then another man appeared this one wore all white, then the third appeared wearing a silk kimono. As he looked at the trio he realized they were all him, one by one more and more oddly dressed Ryuu''s appeared.


    As he tried to remember what Ye Mo had said "you must find the true ones." Ryuu was even more puzzled now.


    "The true ones, what does that even mean?" Ryuu started searching his look a likes, but each one seemed more like him then the last. He wasn¡¯t getting anywhere, then just as he was about to lose hope he caught a break.


    One of the look a likes caught his attention, this one wore a white and black kimono just like the old ones at the academy back home. Then he found one wearing the new white and black with gold trim kimono, the more he looked the more he seemed to get it some of these were memories of himself while others are just fakes. "So thats what ''find the true ones'' meant" thought Ryuu.


    As he was thinking, a man in a black robe wearing a mask attacked Ryuu from behind. The masked man said nothing as he continued to lash towards him, but Ryuu remembered what Ye Mo said about the one who tries to kill him is his hate, so he had already devised a plan.


    After a moment he asked the man if he was okay, the masked man flew into a rage at his question and continued to slash towards him. Ryuu calmly continued to ask the man ¡°whats wrong?¡± the more questions he asked the more emotional the masked man would become.


    After about 10 minutes Ryuu saw the man was crying as he screamed ¡°why am I all alone! Why do I have no one!¡± as he again slashed at Ryuu, but this time instead of dodging he grabbed the masked man and wrapped him tightly in his arms, as he whispered you¡¯re not alone.


    The masked man struggled as he said ¡°you¡¯re the one who''s not alone!¡± hearing his words Ryuu lightly frowned as he said ¡°your not alone either, because you¡¯re me after all."


    "We''ve always been alone! And now thats just gonna change!?" The masked man groaned.


    "If you want to stay alone then stay, but I''d rather you come with me." As Ryuu spoke the masked man slowly stopped struggling as he turned into blue smoke and merged with Ryuu as a single tear fell to the floor.

    After that Ryuu rounded up all the ¡°true ones¡± and pushed them back through the mirror then as the last one stepped through, the mirror started to ripple once again, then Ryuu was back in the library in his body.


    Seeing this Ye Mo was stunned as he starred at Ryuu, it only took him a fraction of the time his father had taken!


    Ye Mo just roared and laughed as he said "Boy you¡¯re something else."


    "Can we please start to train now? If I only have three years then I need to start preparing right away!" Exclaimed Ryuu.


    "Oh, so you want to fight the Great Sage do you?" Asked Ye Mo.


    "Fight? No, I want to make him pay for killing humans and destroying our planet!" Yelled Ryuu as he chest heaved up and down.


    "Hmm" thought Ye Mo as he narrowed his brows then said in a serious tone "Agreed! We better get to work then; but first there¡¯s a few things I must give you. On that desk is a letter for you, read that first."


    Ryuu slowly approached one of the desks in the back right corner of the first floor of the library.


    On the desk there was two full metal 8 inch kunai, one had the word ''Caligo'' engraved on it and the other had ''Ignis'' along with some complicated inscriptions.


    Next to those was a journal titled ''KEY'', a letter addressed to him and finally, there was a palm sized stone that had a white fog to it.


    "This is the stone Ye Mo had come out of." Ryuu thought inwardly.


    Ryuu extended out his arm and grabbed the letter on the desk and opened the seal. Ryuu unfolded the page inside and starred at it for a long while, there was just one sentence "Beware of the three headed white snake." Ryuu couldn¡¯t make sense of the message, so he asked Ye Mo. He furrowed his brows as even he was confused by this. "Forget it" said Ryuu as he shrugged his shoulders.


    As he then reached for the journal and asked ¡°why is this journal so special? There''s tons of journals in here."


    "Because that is your fathers, master Dosojins journal. Your father wrote that journal to help himself learn the three other major languages so he could study all the ancient journals and scrolls. This journal can become one of your most important possessions!" Ye Mo explained.


    Ryuu was a little shocked, he didn¡¯t think this would be his fathers journal, this definitely will come in handy in his studies.


    Next he grabbed the two kunai, Ye Mo explained that "They''re soul weapons,


    forged from special elements and minerals. When infused with heavenly energy these weapons can be fused with ones soul, by making a blood seal."


    "But you must be careful everyone has a different number of soul cages, cages hold whatever beasts or items you have a blood seal with, but you can only make as many blood seals as you have cages. Ryuu held the kunai as he understood Ye Mos words, he learned about blood seals at the academy.


    He knows he has 5 cages so he raised his hand bit his thumb till it bled while pressing his thumb to the blades he activated his qi and fused it with the two kunai.


    The daggers started to spin as they flew into the air, then the first turned into a black streak and flew into his soul then the second one turned into a white light and followed the first. Both then flew into his soul realm and to his surprise they both went into the same white building, where they rematerialized and floated together in a circle.


    He curiously asked Ye Mo why that was, and he explained "The Caligo and Ignis kunia are a set, they''re two halves of the same weapon."

 Book One - Bloodline

    The last thing on the desk was the stone. Ryuu looked at Ye Mo and curiously asked "What exactly is this stone? Earlier smoke came out of it and then you appeared."


    Ye Mo chuckled and said "Yes, this stone is a special mineral, every dragon is born with one. It''s called the birth stone, its kind of like a turtle shell. Only the dragon who owns it can enter that''s why most use it to sleep in, and its nearly impossible to break. The birth stone also has one other purpose and its the most important, if you form a blood seal and fuse earthly energy with it just like the kunai then you can fuse with its dragon. But its like a double edge sword for us dragons, for if someone finds your birth stone then they can force you to fuse with them."


    Ryuu nodded his head as he understood, Ye Mo most truly trust him to tell him all this. Before Ryuu could say anything Ye Mo said "well, pick up my birth stone if you want to make your first beast sealing contract, like your father you have a primordial dragon bloodline so you will easily more then triple your physique and physical strength."


    Primordial dragon bloodline? There was no one inside the mountain with a primordial dragon bloodline, not even in the Ky¨±o clan. Ryuu couldn¡¯t believe he had one of the fabled dragon bloodlines, the purest and strongest of all the bloodlines.


    Ryuu extended his handed and grabbed the stone from the desk, he was shaking with anticipation. He then bit his thumb till it started to bleed and pressed it against the birth stone and then started to pour his qi into the stone.


    After a moment the stone glowed with a bright golden luster as it slowly floated in front of Ryuu. Then Ye Mo turned back into the gold smoke and so did the birth stone, the two spun an formed a double helix until the smoke fully merged together then flew into Ryuu''s body and into his soul realm.


    As Ye Mo merged with Ryuu''s soul he could feel his soul realm filling up and expanding after growing twice its original size it started to crack. Ryuu clenched his teeth from the burning pain flowing through his whole body.


    Then with a loud *boom* his soul realm cracked and doubled in size again as Ye Mo settled inside another one of the 5 white buildings in the cage but this time Ryuu left the gate unlocked so Ye Mo could still rome around.


    A moment later smoke flew back out of Ryuu''s chest and formed into Ye Mo''s head, "If they gate is unlocked I can come and go freely and go into the Oracle ring. Plus you can still merge with me when ever you want, wanna give it a try?"  Asked Ye Mo.

    Ryuu nodded with anticipation as he walked out the front doors of the library, and found himself on top a small grass hill, as he looked out in the distance all he could see was mountains covered by huge trees, flowers, and herbs with a calmly flowing river running between some hills leading to the ocean of heavenly energy.


    Ryuu had the next four weeks to learn before his next semester at Soul Academy.


    When he told this to Ye Mo, he said ¡°I have a way for you to extend your training time.¡±


    Hearing Ye Mos words he was in disbelief as he asked ¡°Extend? Extend how?¡±


    *Hahahaha!*


    Roared Ye Mo as he said ¡°I am the Spatium Tempus Kogane dragon! I may be old but I can easily turn four weeks into four months.¡±


    Hearing Ye Mo''s words Ryuu¡¯s eyes lit up as he asked ¡°You can really do that?¡±


    ¡°Why of course.¡± Ye Mo replied ¡°All you half to do is merge with me so you can activate the array.¡±


    Ryuu then mobilized the qi in his soul realm and opened the gate to Ye Mos cage, as the cage opened a black and gold smoke covered his body as he transformed into a 15 meter tall dragon with huge black wings, sharp talons, with spikes all down his back. The spikes on its back had a black metallic glow while his scales emitted a black and gold luster.


    With just one step his foot made a series of spider web like cracks on the ground, with his physique alone he destroyed a section of the island. He then heard Ye Mos voice inside his head as he said ¡°Now place both hands on the ground.¡±


    After Ryuu placed his hands on the ground he heard Ye Mo say ¡°Spatium tempus body seal!¡±


    Then a giant bubble formed from thin air and covered Ryuu, then before Ryuu knew what was happening the bubble started to shrink until it formed around his entire body.


    ¡°Now the time & space around you has been slowed, every week back on Earth will be a month for you in here.¡± Ye Mo explained.


    ¡°Now first things first, we need to get you use to being merged with me, soon using my body will become second nature for you. Now try to pick up that boulder¡± said Ye Mo.


    Hearing what Ye Mo said Ryuu walked up to the boulder a few meters away and placed both hands on either side as he applied pressure to lift the rock, it shattered into tiny pieces. Ryuu was shocked when he saw this, he had barely touched the rock.


    ¡°Again!¡± yelled Ye Mo, as Ryuu continued to crush boulder after boulder.

 Book One - The Cendrillion

    With Ye Mo¡¯s time & space body seal Ryuu has had a month of training in one week.


    Ryuu had spent the first two weeks learning to merge and control Ye Mo¡¯s body. Normally when someone merges with a beast they will lock and seal away the creatures conscious, to keep them from rebelling.


    But because Ye Mo¡¯s cage is unlocked and a mutual seal he has his conscious. Thanks to Ye Mo¡¯s guidance Ryuu¡¯s has been learning at an extremely fast pace.


    After a week of rock smashing Ryuu finally got the hang of merging with Ye Mo, so Ye Mo moved onto teaching him fire attacks.


    Ye Mo showed Ryuu how to gather and concentrate his qi in his chest then take a deep breath using fire style and exhale. This is Ye Mo¡¯s kalama breath roar (fire breath).


    After Ryuu learned how to merge and use Ye Mo, Ye Mo explained his concept of light to Ryuu. Then with Ye Mo¡¯s guidance after a few days he started to grasp his own concept of light and began to be able to use the Ignis kunai.


    Then one day during the third week he had a breakthrough while cultivating. While meditating on the concept of light, he concluded ¡°Where ever there¡¯s light, there are shadows.¡±


    His eyes suddenly opened as he jumped to his feet as he focused his qi and summoned the Caligo kunai.


    With one hand he controlled the floating kunai and with the other he manipulated the shadows. He had two shadows one on either side of the blade, with his left hand he maneuvered the kunai through the air. As it flew past a boulder, he used his other hand and the two shadows became as strong as iron as he guided them to the boulder. They pierced through the stone, splitting the rock into tiny pieces.


    After seeing this Ye Mo who was watching from inside his cage was astonished "There¡¯s no doubt He¡¯s Kuro Dosojin son.¡± Thought Ye Mo.


    He then asked ¡°Ryuu do you know what primordial bloodline you have?¡±


    ¡°I just found out I have a primordial bloodline!¡± exclaimed Ryuu

    ¡°Well I guess I should tell you then, you have the Kage Scultone primordial dragon bloodline.¡± Said Ye Mo


    ¡°Kage Scultone? So I¡¯m a shadow elemental? Because at the academy my dominant element was always fire.¡± Ryuu asked curiously.


    Ye Mo explained to him ¡°Yes, all dragons have a strong grasp towards fire. But the primordial dragon are unique, a side from fire they also possess a second element. Like me of the time & space primordial dragon bloodline. Seeing how you already have a strong grasp of darkness I will teach you a special technique you father created. Only someone with your bloodline can do this technique.¡±


    ¡°His fathers special technique¡± Ryuu could feel his anticipation building up inside as he listened intently.


    ¡°This technique is called Cendrillion. This is a move combing flames with shadows, when you get the flames and the shadows to intertwine you will get black flames. The shadows can then seek out and attach to a target and the flames will feed off the shadows creating eternal black flames that can burn everything to ashes.¡± said Ye Mosternly as he narrowed his brows.


    Ryuu spent the next two weeks learning to combine his flames and shadows. After the third week he was finally able to perfectly combine the two elements and learned to create the Cendrillion in his hands.


    Ye Mo couldn¡¯t believe how fast he was learning ¡°Was this kid even human?¡± thought Ye Mo facetiously.


    Early in the morning a few days later Ryuu asked ¡°Ye Mo, are there any other shadow techniques you can teach me?¡±


    "Well seeing how you all ready mastered the Cendrillion, hmm I know one or two more I can show you.¡± Said Ye Mo after he pondered for a bit.


    ¡°Well! Out with it already dragon gramps!¡± Said Ryuu anxiously.


    ¡°hush you insolent child, show respect for your elder. Next I will teach you a secret technique, shadowportation and shadow portals.¡±

 Book One - Shadowportation

    ¡°Shadowportation, What is that?¡± Ryuu asked Ye Mo curiously.


    ¡°Shadowportation and shadow portals are exactly what they sound like, you use shadows to teleport objects, even yourself. To do this we will start with you mastering your shadow manipulation skills.¡±


    ¡°I can already make shadow spears and chains. So what else?¡± Ryuu said proudly with his hands on his hips.


    Ye Mo roared as he laughed


    *hahahahaha*


    ¡°You still have much to learn boy, but for now we will start with some basics, shadow limbs."


    Ryuu furrowed his eyebrows as he frowned and asked. ¡°Shadow limbs, so you want me to make like arms and legs?¡±


    ¡°lets just do arms and hands, tell me when you got it.¡± Said Ye Mo as he went back into his birth stone in the cage.


    Ryuu gathered his qi in to two points on his back on his shoulder blades, then using shadow manipulation, while he mobilized his qi two limbs grew from his back. But instead of making arms, the shadows spread out forming two large black wings.


    With a single flap of his wings the surrounding ground under his feet spider webbed from the pressure, as he shot into the sky.


    He flew around the small planet inside the Ancestral Oracle Ring until he came across a small mountain. Ryuu dived towards a cluster of rocks on one side, as he landed he used shadow manipulation to cushion his landing. By covering the bottom of his feet with shadows he could use the shadows to reinforce his feet and calves as he landed and formed a small crater.


    Then by infusing more qi the wings folded back into two arms, then they both grew hands. One stretched about seven feet and grabbed onto one of the boulders.


    The shadow arms fingers wrapped around the boulder as it tossed it into the air and caught it with the other hand. After practicing with the shadow hands for a few hours, he woke Ye Mo and showed him.


    After showing him his shadow arm control he showed him his shadow wings.


    When Ye Mo saw Ryuus shadow manipulation skills he smiled and said ¡°You never cease to amaze me, I never thought you would learn to use shadow wings all on your own. The next step should be simple for you, all you need to do is create a shadow box around this stone.¡±

    ¡°Shadow box, got it.¡± Replied Ryuu as he extended one of his shadow arms to the stone and created a shadow cube around the stone.


    Ye Mo smiled and nodded as he said ¡°Very nice, now you should know all shadows are connected by their own dimension. By pulling an object into the shadow dimension you can teleport it by moving it to another shadow of your choosing.¡±


    ¡°Shadow dimension? I never knew that all shadows are connected. How do I pull an object into the shadow dimension?¡± asked Ryuu as he continued to try to pull in the rock.


    ¡°Clear your mind, then imagine a black circle. Then image dropping the item into the black hole.¡±


    Just as Ye Mo finished speaking Ryuu, who was following along to his instructions was able to pull the stone into the shadow dimension.


    Upon seeing this Ye Mo was once again shocked, he shook his head and continued ¡°Now when you¡¯re trying to bring something out of the shadow dimension imagine you¡¯re pulling the item out of the black hole using your shadow hand.¡±


    A moment later the stone reappeared about 15 feet away from where it originally was.


    ¡°very good, the more you practice this technique the farther you¡¯ll be able to teleport objects.¡± Said Ye Mo as he nodded his head in delight.


    After Dosojin died Ye Mo thought Earth was doomed, he only stayed to watch Ryuu because it was the last thing his old friend ever asked of him. He never could have imagined the once winey brat would grow up to be such a capable and talented cultivator. Ye Mo smiled inwardly as he said ¡°You have a little over a month left, so there¡¯s something that I would like to show you, follow me.¡±


    He then shot into the sky and flew back towards the library, with Ryuu following close behind.

 Book One - The Elemental Sage

    When they reached the library Ye Mo went to a book shelf, he reached up and grabbed a large dusty journal on the top shelf. He pulled it off the shelf and handed it to Ryuu as he said ¡°I thinks its time for you to have this.¡±


    ¡°What is this?¡± asked Ryuu as he grabbed and inspected the book, but was confused to see the whole cover, front and back where blank.


    ¡°This is your fathers journal¡± said Ye Mo


    A little confused Ryuu said ¡°Fathers journal? What do you mean, I already have my fathers Key journal.¡±


    ¡°Ah, yes you do.  But the Key journal is simply a reference guide for alchemy formulas, inscription patterns, and language translations its like a reference or ¡°key¡± if you would. He used the key to help him study and remember the other books and scrolls in the library. But this is your fathers cultivating journal it has all of his personal techniques and inscription patterns, this should be consider a treasure of its own.¡± Said Ye Mo in a serious tone.


    Ryuu was confused as he flipped open the journal to the first page. It was titled Element ¨C Darkness, Ryuu was speechless as he skimmed the first page. On that one page alone was four different advanced shadow techniques.


    Ye Mo smiled at Ryuu as he said ¡°I can tell by the look in your eyes you agree.¡±


    ¡°Definitely!¡± Replied Ryuu who was already sitting at a desk flipping through Pages as he study the incredible techniques.


    As he continued to flip he became a little confused, in his fathers journal there were techniques for all the elements. He narrowed his brows as he asked Ye Mo ¡°I thought you said this was my dads personal techniques, so why are there ones for every element?¡±

    ¡°Every element? I think your mistaken my boy, there¡¯s no light techniques.¡± Replied Ye Mo casually.


    ¡°So you¡¯re telling me my father could control six elements?¡± Asked Ryuu anxiously.


    ¡°Why of course, if your father wouldn¡¯t have died he would have been the 2nd Elemental Sage.¡± As he continued, ¡°Being a direct descendant of the Elemental sage, just like your father you have the potential to become the 2nd Elemental Sage.¡± Said Ye Mo as he roared.


    ¡°The 2nd Elemental Sage¡± repeated Ryuu quietly as his lips slowly curled into a smile. Just then he flipped to a page in his fathers journal titled ¡®Qi and element control.¡¯


    The page was explaining how to master different elements, which involves knowing the different qi natures and how to manipulate your qi to each nature. Ryuu sat motionless for a long time as he studied the page. After a while Ye Mo returned to his cage in Ryuu¡¯s soul realm, while Ryuu continued to study.


    After a few hours of practice he was able to change his qi nature and has started to learn air style.


    For the next few days he continued to practice his wind style and started to learn advanced fukus¨± attacks (combination attacks), combining wind with his shadow and fire style techniques.


    He continued to meditate and train as the time to leave drifted closer and closer.

 Book One - The Moon, Sun, and Star realms

    Since Ye Mo gave him his fathers journal his cultivation level sky rocketed. With the techniques from his fathers journal and Ye Mo¡¯s guidance he has almost fully mastered the element of air.


    He continued to practice combining his elements and created an attack of his own. By adding air style to his Cendrillion he was able to add a wind rotation making it fly like a shuriken. Next he started changing there sizes, from palm sized ones to ones that were bigger than him.


    As he continued practicing his new move, the ¡®Kaze Cendrillion¡¯ the day slowly came to an end. After a few months of intense training and many hours of studying, it was time to return to the mountain because the next semester of the academy was about to start.


    So Ryuu finished up his training for the day grabbed both of his fathers journals and prepared to leave the realm in the Ancestral Oracle Ring.


    Ryuu activated his qi force, and then twisted the ring on his left pointer finger with his right hand activating the Ancestral Oracle Ring,  then starting with his finger he was sucked into a vortex. Simultaneously back at the edge of the mountain on top of the large flat stone a black and gold ring materialized then a vortex formed in the middle pulling Ryuu back out of the Ancestral Oracle Ring.


    After spending so much time in side the Ancestral Oracle Ring his cultivation had soared by leaps and bounds, thanks to the heavenly energy.


    Ryuu was about to start his 4th year of the academy, but up in till a month ago he had been stuck in Full moon, 5 face realm. Which wasn¡¯t bad, he was in top four in his class, but then he got stuck right before the Sanguis Moon realm and fell behind.


    The other three top students kept progressing as he was stuck at Full Moon realm. By the end of last semester they were almost in the Sun realm, the second of the three cultivating realms leaving Ryuu in their wake.

    The three cultivating realms are Moon, Sun, and Star realms. Each realm has 5 stages and each stage has 5 levels.


    The Moon realm is New Moon, Crescent Moon, Waxing Moon, Full Moon, and Sanguis Moon. Each moon stage has 5 levels called ¡°faces.¡±


    The Sun realm is Black Sun, Silver Sun, Gold Sun, Platinum Sun, and Astral Sun. Each Sun stage has 5 levels called ¡°Aces.¡±


    The Star realm is white dwarf, Red Giant, Super Giant, Super Nova, and Celestial Star. And Each Star stage has 5 levels called ¡°Stars.¡±


    But after unlocking the Ancestral Oracle Ring his cultivation was rising at an almost unbelievable rate.


    After merging with the kunai and ye Mo plus all of his training he figured he at least must be in the Sanguis Moon, 3 Face realm.


    Before heading home he sat down on the rock and pulled a stone out of his backpack.


    This stone is a speacial type of mineral called moon stone, there are 3 types of galaxy stones. Moon stones, Sun stones, and Star stones, by injecting your qi into the stone it tells you your rank.


    Each stone works a little differently, the moon stone has 4 faces (new moon, crescent moon, waxing moon, full moon) for each stage the stone will turn 1/4 black (waxing moon= 3/4 blacks) with white dots that tell you what level you are. For the 5th stage (Sanguis moon) the whole stone turns dark red with black dots.


    As he injected his qi he became speechless as the stone turned all black, then blood red and started to crack, a few seconds later it exploded into tiny pieces.


    Ryuu couldnt believe it, he¡¯s already in the Black Sun realm! He couldn¡¯t help it as his lips slowly curled into a smile.

 Book One - Bedrock village

    Ryuu was so excited that he started to walk back towards his house.


    After a few steps he stopped as he still had a ridiculously huge smile on his face, he remembered something.


    He spun around and sat down on the stone and started to pull out some medicinal herbs and a grinding bowl from his bag. Next he pulled out an alchemy book from the Ancestral Oracle Rings library and his fathers key journal.


    He flipped through the journal till he found a section titled ''cultivation pills & elixirs'' next he found the recipes for a high grade healing elixir and a soul nourishing pill, which couldn¡¯t be obtained in the mountain due to the lack of herbs and knowledge.


    With these his cultivation speed will be greatly increased and so will his recovery speed, allowing him to train much harder.


    Ryuu opened the medicinal alchemy book and double checked all the herbs, then started to grind them into a thin paste and rolled them into pea sized spheres and let them dry while he pulled some more medicinal herbs out and grinded them. Then gabbed a small pot and boiled them, then poured it into a bottle to let soak while he began to cultivate.


    After a while he popped one of the soul nourishing pills and continued to cultivate.


    A few hours later he opened his eyes, placed the pills into a glass bottle and put them and the elixir in his bag and started to walk back towards the village.


    The village started out as just a small cave but thanks to the master earth style user, Ueno Hanzo. He single handedly carved out more and more of the mountain. As a hide out for survivors.


    After a while more and more earth style cultivators helped and it grew from just a small hideout into a full village.


    Lord Hanzo became the first city Rex, but lord Hanzo''s goal was to not hide forever in the mountain. But instead was to strengthen and build up the human race, then reclaim their planet.


    So lord Hanso founded the ''Soul Academy'', the first cultivating school of its kind. The academy trains all kids 13 years old and up, the power in the mountain is determined by cultivation strength.


    The strongest in the mountain was Ueno Hakso, Ueno Hanzo¡¯s son.


    But the heavens were cruel and four years ago he was injured during cultivation, and became crippled from his waist down. Two years later he was found dead in his house. With no successor to Bedrock village, Hanzo declared he and the other three founders, Suzu Hanako, Ry¨±o Hajime and Shimizu Kei would select the next village Rex from among the seniors at the academy.

    Currently there are six eligible families with their seniors competing, three of which are in the same class as Ryuu.


    There¡¯s also two others, one comes from one of the farming families. He¡¯s apparently a young prodigy, he¡¯s also a black sun realm who skipped his first year at the academy.


    As for the sixth guy Ryuu didn¡¯t know anything about him.


    When the city¡¯s Rex Hanso was only 21 he was already a Gold Sun, 5 Ace realm expert, and by 30 he was a Yellow Dwarf, 1 Star.


    Even with the academy no ones cultivated higher then the Gold Sun realm.


    Ryuu walked through a small cave into a vast open cavern, inside this space was an enormous dome shaped stone wall with a barrier inscription covering the entire thing, a guard next to the wall checked Ryuu''s ID then using earth style he pressed both palms to the ground and lowered a small section of the wall.


    As the section opened up, Ryuu stepped through the opening and back into the village.


    This is the outer section, district ¡®D¡¯ of Bedrock village. This part of Bedrock is all the farmers, who have very few cultivators; and most of their cultivators end up as alchemist because of there botany knowledge.


    Ryuu continued till he reached the next stone wall with another guard. He also checked Ryuu¡¯s ID then lowered the wall, the was District ¡®C¡¯ this is where all the middle class cultivators live. This is also where Ryuu lives.


    Ryuu was walking down the road in between houses carved from the stone as he slowly walked towards the back of the district. He finally reached a small opening in between two large boulders, he squeezed behind them and climbed up the narrow path. At the top was a small cave carved into the stone, this was Ryuu¡¯s home. Since a kid he had been in a foster home in district ¡®D¡¯ but after he turned 13 hes lived in this cave.


    Ryuu climbed into the small space and started to unpack, he laid out his sleeping bag then he brought out his dads journal and laid down and started to study and eventually dozed off.


    When he woke up it was early the next morning, he got up and got ready then climbed back out from behind the rocks and headed towards the edge of the district. There he walked up to another guard at this wall. He checked Ryuu then lowered the gate and let him through into district ¡®B¡¯, he then made his way to the center of the district.


    At the center of the district was a twenty foot high earth wall, where there stood another guard.

 **Now it begins**

    Thats the end of book one and finally, the prologue is over. The stage is set and the actors are in position. So prepare yourself, for the real show is about to start.

 Book Two - The Placement Exam

    "Identification." Said the stern guard, Ryuu pulled out his ID and the guard took and inspected it. He quickly handed it back and lowered a part of the wall.


    Inside is the ''Soul Cultivation Academy'' its a grand structure created by Don Hanzo himself.


    Its square shaped with a 4¡Á4 mile courtyard in the middle with platforms for sparing.


    Every new semester they have the placement exam, it¡¯s to see a persons element control and understanding of it. Then depending on what year they''re in They¡¯re assigned to their teacher.


    Ryuu woke up early today to skip all the waiting, so when he entered the courtyard there was mostly only teachers with a couple of students who were all just chatting amongst themselves.


    When they saw Ryuu a few stopped to greet him, after all this was his 4th and final year at the academy and was one of the most promising students. With no family background or support he was always just a little behind in his cultivation, he was an extremely hard worker.


    As he walked through the courtyard he heard people whispering. ¡°Did you hear that last semester he wasn¡¯t able to advance at all and got stuck in 5 Face Waxing Moon.¡± A voice whispered.


    As he walked the whispering continued.


    After a few casual greetings he finally reached the table where the academy¡¯s head master Kioshi and two high level teachers, master Daiki and master Katsumi were sitting. He cupped his hands and lightly bowed as he said "Morning head master and senior masters, I was hoping you would please allow me to take my placement exam early?"


    A beautiful blonde slowly looked up and said "There¡¯s no better time then the present, since you¡¯re so eager lets see what you can do."


    Ryuu decided it would be best to not show that he had broken through to sun realm.


    Ryuu walked up to the side table and grabbed the moon stone and then started to inject his qi energy, the whole corner of the courtyard grew silent as all the teachers and students watched.


    The stone went from white to pitch black, all the teachers where shocked upon seeing this.


    Then the stone glowed ruby red as it got darker and darker until it was a dark burgundy, then before it started to crack Ryuu placed the stone back on the table.


    Everyone was speechless, as they all just starred in disbelief.


    The next test was to test your control of your element(s). Ryuu first built up his qi energy mobilizing it in his soul then he concentrated it all in a ball in his chest.


    Then simultaneously he ignited the cendrillion in his right hand and compressed it to a ball with his left. He then tossed the ball of black flames into the air and then took a deep breath and exhaled a surge of powerful wind.


    Together they created a powerful fire breath attack that was so intense it made the temperature rise, as even the morning frost on the grass evaporated.

    Seeing everyone¡¯s reaction Ryuu decided to conceal the rest of his strength and left it at that for now, he already showed sufficient strength to be put in a elite class.


    For it was rare for someone to have such a strong control over his qi, and he was able to perfectly combine multiple elements at once, not to mention he¡¯s still just a young man. Who knows how strong he might become in the future.


    The head master and the other two huddled together in private. Then after a few minutes looked up and Kioshi said ¡°After discussing we have decided to put you in master Yuri¡¯s class."


    All the students starred enviously at Ryuu.


    Even Ryuu was speechless, master Yuri is an old sage of the Platinum Sun realm he¡¯s renowned for his techniques and battle strategies. He only accepts the best and most promising students and only takes 10 new disciples a ssemester!


    Ryuu walked up got his letter of recommendation cupped his hands as he said "Many thanks to my senior masters, I''ll take my leave now."


    ¡°Don¡¯t thank us yet, master Yuri still has final say, so make sure you leave a good first impression." Said master Daiki.


    "Of course."  said Ryuu as he hurried off towards Master Yuri''s.


    Yuri''s class is not part of the main building but was behind the academy on a cliff side.


    As Ryuu approached the face the cliff he felt a surge of killing intent, then six shadow strands flew out like arrows and tried to screwier him.


    He jumped back a few feet then activated the qi in his soul realm, just then a black kunai materialized in his hand. He then chucked the kunai at the face of the cliff, as the kunai flew through the air the inscriptions emitted a dazzling metallic light.


    Using just one finger Ryuu guided the kunai through each shadow and pinned all six strands to the cliff side.


    The attacker gasped as he starred in disbelief, this new comer had fully countered his attack with out breaking a sweat and had fully suppressed his shadow spears.


    Hearing the noise from the left behind some rocks, Ryuu activated his qi and pulled the kunai and all six shadows out of the wall. Using the kunai as a conductor he enhanced the power of the shadows and sent them smashing through the rocks toward the attacker.


    A loud shriek came from inside the smoke cloud, then two men leaped from the smoke and landed on either side of Ryuu, one was badly injured on his right leg but managed to stay standing.


    As Ryuu mobilized his qi and was about to summon the second kunai, he heard light clapping from the top of the cliff.


    As a stern rasp voice said "That¡¯s enough, go get yourself patched up. You, what¡¯s your name?"


    As the voice spoke both men immediately stood up straight with there arms at their sides, as they stood at attention.

 Book Two - The Final Test

    Ryuu slowly scanned the face of the cliff, about half way up was a man in a white robe with a long white beard standing on a small platform.


    "My name is Kuro Ryuu" said Ryuu proudly.


    "Well Ryuu do you have your recommendation letter?" As he talked he casually walked straight down the face of the cliff. As the grey robed man approached the ground he stepped off the wall and walked on thin air as he slowly stepped to the ground.


    Ryuu was in awe for he had never seen someone who could control the moon walk to such a degree to where he could even air walk.


    The man snapped his fingers and said "well?"


    "Oh! Of course senior master." Said Ryuu as he pulled the letter from his back pack and handed it to the man, the mans eyes narrowed as he inspected the letter.


    After a moment he folded it up and said "Alright, I am master Yuri. Please follow me." Then in just two steps he had jumped back up on to the platform, Ryuu followed quickly behind him.


    Yuri then opened an earth style door on the cliff face and stepped through.


    When Ryuu entered he found himself in an enormous empty room, "This is the sparing grounds" explained Yuri.  As they followed a path along the side of the room, then Yuri opened another secret earth door and stepped through.


    On the other side was a large courtyard with a river running through the middle. On the other side of the courtyard was a temple built into the wall.


    ¡°This is my classroom, this is where you will study, meditate and practice your cultivation." Yuri explained. "Now to test your level of strength and qi control, I''m going to have you spar with one of my disciples."


    He then called over a young man named Hibiki.


    Hibiki was a year older then Ryuu and was part of the Ry¨±o clan, they''re the only clan in all of Bedrock village with a dragon bloodline.


    Just about every high level dragons all go to the Ry¨±o clan, with Hibiki 2nd in line to be the clans next patriarch, he no doubt has merged with a strong dragon bloodline beast.


    Even though Ryuu had a very rare and powerful dragon beast, he had a lot less experience with beast merging. Ye Mo is actually the first beast he had ever had a blood seal contract with.


    "You will spar with Hibiki to test your strength, then I will decide if you¡¯re worthy of being my disciple." Said master Yuri, as Ryuu nodded his head and agreed.


    Then all three walked back towards the sparing grounds. As they approached one of the many platforms, Hibiki jumped on the stage, as Ryuu followed.

    "The first to step off the stage loses" said Yuri.


    Hibiki then pressed his hands to the ground and activated the barrier, this barrier can absorb all qi attacks from the inside. They both cupped there hands and lightly bowed, then Hibiki mobilized his qi and started emitting a sharp killing intent.


    As Ryuu just stood there motionless, Hibiki pounced towards him thrusting fire balls at him.


    Ryuu stood in place calm and tranquil, then slowly lifted one hand. As his hand rose so did a wall of shadows, that was blocking and devouring all the flames.


    He then focused all his qi into his chest and exhaled a fire ball combining it with the shadows and fired it at Hibiki.


    The two spinning elements merged and formed a cendrillion. The attack grazed Hibiki¡¯s side as he was just barely able to dodge it.


    When he felt it pass he knew if he would have taken a direct attack he would''ve been barbequed.


    Hibiki landed and retreated several yards then mobilizing his qi he began to merge with his dragon spirit.


    As Ryuu saw he was about to transform he summoned his ¡®caligo¡¯ soul kunai, he then threw the kunai next to Hibiki¡¯s feet.


    Then the kunai turned into a shadow and spread along the ground and surrounded Hibiki, then before he could react he was tied up and enclosed in a box by the shadow.


    Then an identical black box appeared next to master Yuri, when the shadow disappeared Yuri saw Hibiki was unconscious laying on the ground wrapped in shadow strands, restraining his movements.


    Yuri was speechless, in just a short time this new comer has already defeated two of his second year disciples, not to mention the shadow techniques.


    He looked up at Ryuu who was standing quietly on the stage as he wonderd just what clan he belonged to.


    Master Yuri knew what he just saw was no ordinary technique, but actually an advanced shadow technique.


    ¡°You used darkness, fire, and air style, exactly how many of the elements can you use?" Asked master Yuri.


    Ryuu paused and thought for a moment before speaking, he then quietly mumbled "Just those three."


    Yuri was utterly shocked, most people can only use one element. But this child had almost fully mastered three elements! That was a feat even he couldn¡¯t achieve, this boy was truly something else.

 Book Two - Cheap Shot

    ¡°How many can you combine at once?" Yuri inquired.


    "Right now only two, but I almost got the third down." Ryuu replied hesitantly.


    ¡°Mmm very nice, then we will began practicing control over multiple elements, follow me." Said Yuri


    As the two talked Hibiki slowly came to. Seeing that he was still being restrained by the shadows and Ryuu standing over him without a scratch made his blood boil as he clenched his teeth.


    As he thought back to the fight he still couldn¡¯t tell what had happened.


    Ryuu casually looked down, removed the shadow chains and followed behind Yuri who was walking back up the path to the courtyard.


    Hibiki sat of the ground and narrowed his eyes at Ryuu, ¡°Just who in the hell does this nobody think he is? Just who is he anyways?!¡± Hibiki wondered as he clenched his fists until his veins popped out and his knuckles turned white.


    ¡°I Ky¨±o Hibiki shall have my revenge for this humiliation, you will rue this day!¡± thought Hibiki iIndignantly as he punched the ground furiously.


    As master Yuri and Ryuu walked into the courtyard a man in a grey robe rushed up to master Yuri and said "Sir the barrier core is requesting to speak to you immediately.¡±


    Yuri continued to slowly walk through the courtyard then turned to Ryuu and said "Ryuu I have some matters to attend too, please feel free to stay and cultivate as long as you¡¯d like. There will be another test tomorrow, so be prepared.


    When he finished speaking, him and the other grey robed man leaped off towards the temple at the end of the courtyard. Ryuu nodded his head, and crossed over a small bridge and started to walk down one of the paths.


    As he followed the path he was simply dumbfounded at how big this secret cavern was.


    After walking for a while, when he could no longer see the temple. Ryuu found a nice rock along the river bank near a small water fall, he sat down and pulled out a small glass bottle filled with the soul nourishing pills he had made; he then popped two, closed his eyes and started to cultivate.


    As he cultivated the sound of the water fall slowly faded as he began to enter an astral mind state, as he sat in limbo he could feel himself slipping more and more into the mind state as he sowly left his body.


    After a couple hours his astral body emerged from his physical body, as he was in this state he turned into a beam of light and shot into the clouds. When he entered space he could here millions of voices and could sense a thick qi that was coming from the moon, sun, and stars.

    As he traveled deeper into space his whole body started burning up, eventually he couldn''t handle the building pressure. He opened his eyes wide as he gasped for breath, as beads of sweat dripped down his forehead as he tried to regain his train of thought.


    ¡°what in the hell was that?¡± Ryuu thought inwardly.


    As he was sitting there, he heard the scuff of someone¡¯s shoes kicking a few rocks as they walked.


    He opened one eye and saw it was Hibiki with two other students. As they approached, Ryuu sat completely motionless as he closed his eyes and continued meditating.


    After a while he asked ¡°Can I help you gentleman with something?¡± as he slowly opened one eye to look at them.


    The three men just stood there staring at Ryuu.


    After another moment he said ¡°Ah, You must be here for some cultivating tips?¡± as his lips curled into a thin smile.


    Finally Hibiki couldn¡¯t take it anymore and said ¡°You got a lot of nerve talking to me like that! You think you can just get away with cheap shoting me?¡±


    ¡°Cheap shot?¡±


    *Hahahahaha*


    ¡°Sorry buddy but that was no cheap shot, you just can¡¯t fight.¡± Said Ryuu as he tried to hold back his laughter.


    ¡°Why you!¡± screamed Hibiki as he pounced towards Ryuu blasting fire balls at him.


    ¡°Same move again huh? Man you¡¯re just a one trick pony with no self control, are you sure you dont want those tips?" Said Ryuu as he continued sitting casually.


    All the fire balls then landed right on the rock destroying it creating a thick layer of smoke.


    As the smoke cleared they saw Ryuu had vanished, as Hibiki looked around he saw Ryuu was sitting right behind him.


    In a rage he hurled another fire ball at Ryuu, but again he just vanished.


    After a moment they could hear someone laughing, ¡°Man you really are pathetic.¡± Ryuu laughed madly.


    ¡°Above us!¡± screamed one of Hibikis friends.


    As they looked up they saw Ryuu had somehow grown two large black wings and was now hovering a few feet above them.


    All three stood motionless as they stared, jaws wide.


    ¡°Stop wasting my time!¡± shouted Ryuu as he began to fly away.


    Hibiki started to roar as he merged with his dragon beast.


    He then leaped into the sky as he exhaled a massive fire ball at Ryuu''s back.

 Book Two - Compensation

    Ryuu turned and saw the flames barreling towards him, he dodged to the right barley avoiding the flames.


    As he landed on a nearby tree branch, he saw his new kimono was scorched on the bottom.


    Without a word Ryuu vanished then reappeared in a black fog behind Hibiki. He reached out his hand and grabbed Hibiki¡¯s shoulder, and then the blackness started to surrounded him.


    A moment later they were both gone, Hibiki¡¯s two friends were astonished as they looked around.


    ¡°Where the hell am I?¡± mumbled Hibiki, as he looked around he saw he was completely shrouded in darkness.


    ¡°You are now in my domain!¡± said Ryuu bitterly


    Hibiki felt something touch his leg then almost instantly he was tightly bound by black strands.


    As he struggled he heard Ryuu chuckle as he said ¡°I used my shadow chains again, struggle all you want.¡±


    ¡°Do you have any idea who I am, you have no idea who you¡¯re messing with!!¡± screamed Hibiki who was a little dismayed.


    ¡°Funny, that¡¯s what I was going to say. You¡¯re the one who got all butt hurt and ruined my new kimono.¡± Said Ryuu as he used the chains around Hibiki¡¯s legs to hoist him into the air.


    ¡°Just what in the hell are you going to do to me?!¡± asked Hibiki frantically


    ¡°Compensation for my kimono.¡± Said Ryuu as he pulled Hibiki¡¯s Kimono off, he then took off his own and put on the new one.


    Then Hibiki and Ryuu both reappeared right where they had vanished from. As they reappeared Hibiki, who was still bound by the shadow chains fell flat on his face.


    Ryuu casually turned to Hibiki¡¯s two friend as he said ¡°Take this trash and keep him away from me, or next time I won¡¯t be so kind.¡±


    When he finished speaking he released Hibiki and once again flew away.


    He then left master Yuri¡¯s place and started to head home.


    As he was walking down the street, someone yelled ¡°Ryuu! Hey Ryuu wait up man!¡±


    As he turned around he saw it was Shinfuu Ryo, one of Ryuu¡¯s friends from the academy.


    Ryuu first met Ryo two years ago. It was there second year at the academy, and they placed the same in the placement exams.

    ¡°Yeah! I¡¯m in Master Suzu Michio¡¯s class.¡± Ryo said proudly


    ¡°Not bad, he¡¯s a perfect teacher for Air cultivators.¡± Ryuu replied

    Ryuu smiled so big all of his teeth showed as he said ¡°I am in master Yuri¡¯s class now.¡±


    ¡°Master Yuri. You¡¯re in master Yuri¡¯s class?! That class is only for elite seniors!¡± exclaimed Ryo frantically


    ¡°Yeah.¡± chuckled Ryuu


    ¡°But how? Just what kind of training have you been doing?¡± asked Ryo a little disheartened

    Ryuu threw his arm around Ryo and whispered ¡°Ill let you in on my secret if you buy me dinner, I want some barbecue.¡±


    ¡°Oh yeah? What kind of secret?¡± Ryo inquired


    Ryuu winked and said ¡°Its something that I would have to give you.¡±


    ¡°I was already on my way to get some food, and you¡¯ve peaked my interest, so deal.¡±


    ¡°Great!¡± exclaimed Ryuu as they walked towards ¡®Moto¡¯s BBQ¡¯


    They sat at a small booth in the corner as they talked.


    After a while Ryo couldn¡¯t suppress his curiosity and asked ¡°So what¡¯s this thing you¡¯re going to give me?¡±


    ¡°Since you''re so eager, I''ll show you.¡± Replied Ryuu as he reached into his bag.


    He then pulled out a small glass bottle filled with small pills and slid them over to Ryo as he explained ¡°These are soul nourishing pills, they will greatly increase your cultivation.¡±


    ¡°Soul nourishing pills? My family has many pills and elixirs, I don¡¯t want to take yours.¡± Said Ryo as he pushed the bottle back.


    ¡°You fool! These are no ordinary cultivating pills, trust me. These pills are very special, once you try them you will know what I mean.¡± Replied Ryuu as he grabbed Ryo¡¯s hand and gently pushed it back across the table.

 Book Two - Friendly Rivalry

    After they finished their food Ryuu and Ryo decided to go practice together.


    They headed to the academy¡¯s training grounds, and found an open sparing platform.


    They jumped on to the platform and activated the barrier, as they slowly began to walk in a circle staring at each other.


    Ryo focused his qi in to the tips of his fingers and with a flick of his wrist he unleashed a powerful wind blade that flew towards Ryuu.


    Just as it was about to hit him, Ryuu widened his stance and struck the wind blade with a palm thrust. The powerful gust of wind dispersed all the surrounding air, destroying the wind blade.


    Then Ryuu simultaneously stepped forward with his right foot switching his stance; as he extended his left arm out behind him with his pointer finger and thumb in an ¡®L¡¯ shape.


    He then ran the palm of his right hand along his left arm, across his chest, and then extended it outwards. With his palm facing towards Ryo he thrusted his palm and unleased a surge of orange and blue flames, all in one quick decisive motion.


    Ryo flicked his wrist again, this time making a wall of air from the surging winds. The air blocked the column of fire long enough for him to jump out of the way.


    While in air he used both hands to send wave after wave of air blades towards Ryuu.


    Not being able to stop them all he jumped in to the air to dodge.


    ¡°I got you now, kaze surge!¡± yelled Ryo as he released a mighty surge of air that washed over Ryuu like a huge wave.


    It completely enveloped Ryuu and sent him hurdling towards the ground.


    Right as he was going to hit the ground he focused all his qi into his feet and hands. He then released bursts of air from all four of his limbs making him levitate.


    He hovered about two feet above the grass. He slowly floated back to the platform and stepped back on.


    All of a sudden Ryuu felt like a tornado was ripping apart his soul realm, then right when it was going to burst the tornado suddenly vanished. Leaving Ryuu gasping for breath as he tried to recover.


    ¡°I never thought you would be so good at using two elements, you¡¯ve really got the hang of air bending.¡± Said Ryo a bit surprised


    ¡°You think that¡¯s good check this out¡± yelled Ryuu as he formed a ball of black flames in his hands, he then used his left hand and with a slight flick of his wrist the ball split in to two.


    He then threw the cendrillion in his left hand at Ryo, then using the same hand he created a small circle shaped shadow that hovered above his palm.


    He then threw the second cendrillion in to the black hole, then the shadow disappeared.


    The cendrillion that was about 10 feet from Ryo suddenly spit out another one that was moving a lot quicker.


    Ryo quickly put his hands in front of him with his left hand on top, with palms facing each other with about half a foot of space in between.


    He then twisted his hands in a clockwise circle creating a small sphere that sucked all the surrounding air in.

    As the wind sphere started to pull the cendrillion towards it, Ryo tried to dodge.


    But the black ball of flames ripped through the vortex of air like paper mache and headed towards him again.


    He then realized that Ryuu could still control and guide the black ball.


    Ryo was a little terrified, he had never seen anything like this before.


    As he fell towards the ground he used his right arm to create a wave of air behind him, that pushed him back on to platform.


    ¡°I was going to save this move to beat you another time when there¡¯s witnesses. But since you¡¯ve been so kind to show me your new techniques, Ill show you mine! Roared Ryo as he spat out an enormous fire ball.


    *hahahahaha*


    ¡°I win! Oh yeah, how do you like that!¡± screamed Ryo


    ¡°Ohh, so you learned some fire bending, your technique isn¡¯t half bad.¡± Said Ryuu who was calmly standing behind Ryo.


    Ryo froze up and before he could even turn around, Ryuu touched his shoulder then he was suddenly surrounded by complete darkness.


    Then another moment later, he reappeared about 20 feet from the sparing platform. As he rematerialized he fell on his butt in the grass, as Ryuu sat on the edge of the platform smiling at him.


    ¡°You¡¯ve gotten a lot stronger Ryo, I never thought you would be learning fire techniques. Your bending skills are unrivaled.¡± Said Ryuu who was still smiling


    ¡°Yeah I thought so to, until you used that black magic on me!¡± said Ryo as he laughed


    ¡°Black magic¡± repeated Ryuu as he laughed uncontrollably.


    Ryuu finally got a hold of himself and said ¡°Its not black magic, its the element of darkness.¡±


    ¡°Where in the world did you learn that? Almost all knowledge on it was lost. Not to mention you also got really good at your fire bending and you learned air bending techniques, just what kind of training have you been doing?¡±


    Ryuu just took a deep breath and calmly said ¡°Just a lot of hard work I guess. Tomorrow I¡¯ll bring you some fire style techniques for you to try out.¡±


    ¡°Really, that would be a big help, thanks man.¡± Replied Ryo as he lightly punched Ryuu¡¯s arm, and decided to not inquire anymore about his training.


    Ryuu couldn¡¯t stop thinking about the tornado of energy so he looked up and asked ¡°I feel like meditating for a bit, would you want to join me.¡±


    ¡°Yeah I¡¯m down, lets go to Sakura Pond.¡± Said Ryo as they started to walk towards the center of the courtyard.


    ¡°Alright.¡± Replied Ryuu


    In the center of the court yard is a small hill surrounded by lush beautiful cherry blossom trees. On top of the small hill is a small waterfall about 10 feet high, that flows into a pond filled with large colorful koi fish, everyone calls this ¡®Sakura Pond¡¯.


    There were many students of all ages who were quietly sitting on the edge of the shoreline meditating.


    Ryuu and Ryo found a nice secluded area, sat down and began to meditate.

 Book Two - Mysterious changes

    As Ryuu sat and cultivated he focused on his soul realm. As his mind cleared a blue foggy orb appeared.


    This made him confused ¡°where¡¯s the palace?¡± he wondered as he starred at the blue sphere.


    He slowly approached it, as he got closer the fog slow dispersed. As he floated in front of it, he extended out his arm and placed his hand on it.


    Then a complicated inscription appeared around his hand in a circle, then four lines formed creating a ¡®x¡¯ with the inscription pattern as the center.


    The inscription glowed with a bright golden luster, then the lines all lit up as the middle of the ¡®x¡¯ opened up and pulled Ryuu in.


    As he slowly floated forward he saw the palace on the blue orb was inside this blue orb. He was astonished as he turned back and looked at the blue orb behind him that was once again solid.


    ¡°So my soul has two layers?¡± Ryuu was so confused. He landed on the blue orb and walked over to Ye Mo¡¯s building, when he went inside only Ye Mo¡¯s empty birth stone was in the cage.


    ¡°He must be in the ring¡± thought Ryuu as he walked towards the palace.


    When Ryuu opened the palace doors he was even more confused.


    The big gold and white room where the ring use to be, looked a lot different now.


    On the altar where the Ancestral Oracle Ring use to be, there was now three knew items; and on the back wall that use to be blank now had two massive doors that were even more grand then the palace doors.


    Ryuu first approached the alter and inspected the three floating objects. The first one almost looked like a black flame.


    As he inspected the other two he realized they were fire, and air, so the first one had to be a shadow.


    He reached his hand out and touched the little tornado of air, suddenly he felt a rush through his body. The air was so sharp it felt like blades, that made his bones ache.


    He reached his hand out towards the fire. Suddenly it felt as if he was standing on the sun, his blood felt like it was starting to boil.


    It was so intense he lost concentration as he opened his eyes and started to gasp for breath, as he tried to relax again.


    ¡°Just what in the hell was that? So much power in those little spheres of energy.¡± After Ryuu thought for a moment, he closed his eyes and cleared his mind.


    When he finally reached the palace again he walked inside, but this time he didn¡¯t stop at the altar; instead he walked to the mysterious new doors.


    When he got to the doors he was at a loss, the entire door was gold and metallic black. It was completely covered in complicated inscriptions, and in the middle was the Ancestral Oracle Ring.


    As Ryuu placed his hand on the door all the inscriptions started to glow and the ring spun to the left as the doors slowly opened.


    When Ryuu looked inside he was baffled. Behind this door somehow was the library, Ryuu walked in and looked for Ye Mo.


    When he saw he wasn¡¯t inside the library he went to the front doors. As he opened them he saw the doors in his soul wasn¡¯t just to the library but was connected to the whole realm inside the Ancestral Oracle Ring.


    Ryuu immediately started to search for Ye Mo, after about twenty minutes he found him sleeping in the shade by a small pond.


    Ryuu called out to him as he approached ¡°Hey Ye Mo.¡±


    *Humph*


    Ye Mo slowly lifted his head and roared as he yawned.


    ¡°Oh, its you Ryuu, what''s on your mind kid.¡± Said Ye Mo who was still slowly waking up.


    ¡°I got some things I¡¯d like to ask you real quick.¡±

    Ryuu nodded and said ¡°Well the first thing is, why is there doors connecting my soul to the realm inside the ring?¡±


    ¡°Because of your blood seal with the ring, you¡¯re the door.¡± Ye Mo replied


    ¡°what do you mean ¡®I am the door¡¯.¡± Asked Ryuu who was now even more confused.


    ¡°Because of your seal with the ring you¡¯re the door to this realm. The only way in or out is through you, you control this realm.¡± Said Ye Mo a little more seriously.


    ¡°So I¡¯m like the door and the ring is the key?¡± asked Ryuu


    Ye Mo let out a grunt and said ¡°Well not exactly more like a gate keeper, but close enough. What¡¯s your other question?¡±


    ¡°Okay, so why are there two layers to my soul?¡±


    ¡°Two layers? What do you mean?¡± asked Ye Mo


    Ryuu then explained the first blue orb to Ye Mo.


    Ye Mo explained that the outer layer is his actual soul, and everything inside was his minds ¡®inner city.''


    Ye Mo continued to explain and said ¡°Everyone has a different mind set and they look at things differently. So just like how everyone¡¯s different, so is there inner city. Your self image and identity are so solid and strong, you don¡¯t have a soul city.¡±


    ¡°What do you mean I don¡¯t have an inner city, I¡¯ve seen it!¡± exclaimed Ryuu as he jumped to his feet.


    *hahahahaha*


    Ye Mo roared as he laughed ¡°Calm down boy, you have no city, because you have an inner kingdom!¡±


    Ryuu stood there speechless as he started at Ye Mo, he then went to sit on a rock but he fazed right through.


    ¡°What the?¡± said Ryuu as he looked up at Ye Mo.


    Ye Mo just roared and laughed again as he said ¡°You entered the ring through your soul, so only your conscious is here right now, you half to use your qi to touch things inside here.¡±


    ¡°Oh, that makes sense.¡± Said Ryuu as he shook his head and laughed. ¡°One last thing, what¡¯s up with the three elements inside the palace?¡±


    ¡°There the elements that you have a strong knowledge and grasp of, everyone has one. But be careful, with each additional element it becomes harder to suppress and control.¡± Said Ye Mo as he narrowed his brows and starred at Ryuu


    Ryuu nodded his head and said ¡°You don¡¯t need to tell me twice, that tornado earlier almost ripped my soul apart!¡±


    Ye Mo growled as he said ¡°Why do you think I¡¯m in here, that shit storm nearly shredded me to bits!¡±


    After a long awkward silence, they both just laughed.


    Then after they talked a little more, they went back to the library and Ye Mo showed Ryuu how to use his qi to grab things.


    But so far he was only able to hold things for a few seconds.


    ¡°There are two types of bending, elemental bending and qi bending. You already know how to manipulate and change you qi¡¯s nature so you can elemental bend, but to qi bend you will need to learn to manipulate and bend just your qi and use it as a power of its own.¡± explained Ye Mo


    ¡°Qi bending? I¡¯ve never heard of that before.¡± Said Ryuu


    ¡°Of course you haven¡¯t its an old forgotten advance technique from over century ago.¡± Said Ye Mo a little Indignantly


    Then before Ryuu could say anything, he was suddenly being shaken awake. When he opened his eyes, he saw Ryo shaking his arm as he stared out into the trees with wide eyes.


    ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± whispered Ryuu as he also looked into the trees


    ¡°Shhh, start moving but stay low!¡± Ryo anxiously whispered back.

 Book Two - Dimensional Pocket

    As they crept up behind a rock Ryuu quietly asked ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡±


    ¡°I have a bad feeling about this, we need to get out of here now!¡± whispered Ryo anxiously


    ¡°why? What¡¯s going on?¡± asked Ryuu


    ¡°Someone has been following us, and now we¡¯re all alone out here.¡± Said Ryo quietly


    As Ryuu looked around the pond he saw that everyone had already left, they were the last ones there.


    As he looked around he said ¡°Yeah, alright.¡± Then he extended his left arm and placed his hand on Ryo¡¯s shoulder.


    A black fog covered both of them, then a moment later they vanished.


    Then almost immediately, they reappeared at the front gates of the academy.


    When Ryo looked around he was baffled as he looked at Ryuu with wide eyes, he slowly narrowed his brows as he said ¡°I¡¯m not sure what you just did, but I¡¯m sure glad you did it. Lets go!¡±


    They then ran all the way back to the ¡®C¡¯ district where they finally stopped and rested on a pile of rocks.


    Ryuu turned back and looked at the wall separating the ¡®C¡¯ district and ¡®B¡¯ district as he asked ¡°Do you think we lost them?¡±


    As Ryo took a deep breath he said ¡°I sure hope so.¡±


    Ryuu gave a slight chuckle as he eagerly asked ¡°Did you see who was following us, or how many?¡±


    Ryo thought for a moment then shook his head as he said ¡°I never got a good look, but I know there were at least two. They had been following us for a while. I first noticed them when we were sparing, but I thought it was just my imagination; but then they showed up to the pond and were hiding in the trees.¡±


    Ryuu furrowed his brows as he listened to Ryo speak, he started to think about who it could have been.


    After walking and talking for a few more minutes, they both went their separate ways as they headed home for the night.


    Just to be safe Ryuu walked to a alley between two buildings. When he was out of sight, he activated his shadowportation and teleported back to his house.


    Once he was inside he decided it would be best if he stayed in the Ancestral Oracle Ring. So he grabbed all of his food and his futon, and then activated the inscription on the ring.


    When he entered the space in the ring; he went to the library and set all of his stuff in a corner on a small table.


    Then he sat down at the table and pulled out his fathers journal.


    He remembered seeing something about separate shadow dimensions.


    After flipping through pages for a while, he fnally came across a page titled ¡®Pocket dimensions¡¯.


    He immediately started to read and memorize the page.


    After seeing that this inscription had to be binded to an object, he got up and started gathering some scrolls and a few other items.


    After searching for about an hour, he went back to the table and sat down. He then unrolled a blank scroll and grabbed a pen.


    He dipped the pen into a bottle that was labeled ¡®Platinum Sun, shadow beast blood¡¯


    He slowly pressed the tip of his pen to the paper as he wrote down the inscription pattern from his fathers journal.

    Then he unrolled one of the scrolls titled ¡®Soul Seals¡¯ and started to copy down another inscription pattern.


    After finishing that one, he unrolled another scroll titled ¡®Inscription locks and seals¡¯ he then drew more inscriptions on the paper.


    As he wrote them down they flowed into the paper and disappeared.


    Then just as he finished the final stroke, the other two inscription patterns started to emit a bright white light.


    When the light faded there was only one inscription on the page.


    Ryuu was amazed, the two inscriptions merged together forming a new and more complex inscription pattern array.


    Ryuu then placed his right hand in the center of the array, and infused it with his qi.


    As he injected his qi, the inscription pattern started to emit a metallic black glow and started to rapidly spin as it slowly crept up his hand.


    When the inscription had fully formed on his hand and fore arm it gave off a bright white light and then disappeared into his skin.


    A moment later he felt as if his entire soul realm had frozen over; then as quickly as it came, it disappeared.


    But Ryuu could sense something new had formed in his soul realm.


    Ryuu¡¯s lips curled into a smile as he thought to himself ¡°I did it!¡±


    Thanks to the sealing inscription Ryuu was able to combine his fathers pocket dimension inscription and a soul sealing inscription, so he could bind the shadow dimension to his soul.


    Ryuu lifted his right arm up and pointed his palm toward the pile of stuff on the table, a black circle formed in front of his palm and then covered the items in a black fog.


    A moment later all of the items on the table vanished. Ryuu then created another shadow portal with his right hand, and then stepped into it.


    When he stepped through he found himself in a completely black void.


    Using his index he created a small flame and inspected the space.


    The area was a lot bigger then he had imagined, After walking forward about fifteen feet he found his stuff in a corner.


    After inspecting his new pocket dimension he used his right hand to create another shadow portal and stepped back out.


    After putting the scrolls and other things back, he went back to the corner of the library and activated the pocket dimension.


    As Ryuu was about to step through he noticed something odd.


    Even though the pocket dimension is pitch black, he felt he could sense where everything was.


    Using a shadow strand he pulled his futon out, unfolded it and laid down.


    As he lay on his back and starred at the ceiling his mind slowly drifted off, as he fell into a deep sleep.


    The next morning


    It was a chilly morning so Ryuu took his sweater out of his bag and pulled it on, as he walked toward the academy for his first day of class with master Yuri.

 Book Two - Shadow battle part 1

    As he walked to the bottom of the cliff two grey robed men jumped out from behind the rocks again.


    But this time they didn¡¯t attack Ryuu, instead they checked his ID and saw he was on the list.


    One of the guys said ¡°follow me¡± as he leaped up the cliff face and on to the ledge.


    When Ryuu jumped up after him, he opened the hidden door.


    As Ryuu walked into the training grounds he saw a group of students sitting in the grass, he walked up behind them and quietly sat down next to a few others.


    In front of them was master Yuri, he stood with his hands inside his sleeves, as he quietly observed the crowd.


    Behind him stood four men in black robes with black masks covering their noses and mouths, behind them was a group of men in grey robes with the academy¡¯s logo on the left sleeve.


    After a few more minutes two more guys walked in and sat in the grass with the others.


    Just as they sat down the grey robed man with the clip board from out front, landed in front of master Yuri on one knee as he said ¡°That¡¯s everyone sir.¡±


    Then he leaped into the air turned into a flash of light and disappeared.


    As he left, Yuri slowly scanned the students as he said ¡°Morning new comers, now that you are all here we can get started.¡±


    As he finished speaking, one of the men in a black robe said in a stern voice ¡°Stand up¡± as he spoke he slowly stepped forward till he was next to master Yuri.


    He then continued to speak, "In a moment we will begin Master Yuri¡¯s entrance exam. As decided he will only be excepting ten new students, so the elimination rounds begin now.¡±


    As Ryuu looked around the crowd of fifty or so students, he could sense the hostility in the air.


    As everyone viscously eyed their neighbors, the man began to speak again, ¡°For the first round you must challenge and defeat another student, now choose your opponent.¡±


    As Ryuu scanned the crowd a familiar face caught his attention, it was Amori Myoni, a snotty old class mate.


    Myoni was a pretentious know it all, who always had a high and mighty attitude.


    He especially looked down on Ryuu, because he was ¡°Just a nobody from the ¡®C¡¯ district.¡±


    Ryuu can¡¯t stand people like him, only strong because of their families wealth and resources.


    Ryuu especially hated the Amori clan, it¡¯s just full of conceited and greedy people like him. They¡¯re the only clan with darkness bending techniques in all of Bedrock; and only because while every other clan has been sharing knowledge and techniques trying to strengthen the next generation, the Amori clan has continued to hoard all darkness techniques to themselves.


    The worse part was with their strength they became one of the noble clans, giving them even more power and authority; so no one dared to anger the Amori family.


    As Ryuu scanned the room, Myoni looked over and made eye contact with him.


    They both narrowed their brows and starred at each other malevolently.


    As a thought crossed Ryuu¡¯s mind ¡°If I beat Myoni using darkness bending, that should knock the Amori clan down a peg or two.¡± Then without thinking twice, Ryuu pointed at him and said ¡°I challenge you.¡±


    *Gasp*


    A few surrounding students who heard him were all in brief shock, before they started to laugh.


    Myoni pointed at himself as he also started to laugh as he said ¡°I don¡¯t know who let this nobody in here, but I¡¯m going to remove him right now.¡±


    Before he even finished his sentence Ryuu had already jumped on to the platform as he starred bleakly at him as he asked ¡°Are you done boasting?¡±

    Myoni face turned sour as he walked towards the platform; as he approached more and more students gathered around.


    As he landed on the platform, Ryuu activated the barrier as he looked at him with a sneer.


    They both starred at each other maliciously as they cupped their hands and lightly bowed.


    Then right as Myoni looked up he watched Ryuu disappear in a black haze. He looked around violently as he searched for him.


    Then right as he took a step, two shadows wrapped around both of his legs, immobilizing him.


    As he started to struggle to get free, a black shadow emerged from the ground right in front of him.


    He tried to jump back but ended up falling back because of the shadow restraints.


    As he fell on his ass he watched Ryuu materialize from the black blob.


    *Hahahahaha*


    Ryuu threw his head back as he laughed hysterically.


    ¡°Man I don¡¯t know why, but for some reason I thought you¡¯d be stronger than Hibiki!¡± roared Ryuu as he continued to laugh uncontrollably.


    Myoni turned as red as a tomato as he leaped to his feet and pounced towards Ryuu.


    Ryuu stood motion less as Myoni swung towards his face with a shadow blade.


    Then right as it was about to slash the side of his head, a black circle appeared that absorbed not just the impact but the shadow itself; then simultaneously another circle appeared on the other side of his head and the blade came back out.


    Myoni was speechless, his shadow blade had just phased right through him!


    Each time he slashed at him, the shadows just phased through his body.


    After a few more slashes Ryuu vanished in a black fog again, then reappeared right behind him.


    ¡°You know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.¡± Said Ryuu as he chopped him in the back of the neck with the side of his hand, sending him sprawling to the ground.


    As he rolled over he watched as two large shadow arms grew from Ryuu¡¯s back and grabbed on to his ankles lifting him into the air.


    Seeing this his eyes turned cold as he yelled viscously ¡°I don¡¯t know where in the hell you learned our techniques, but I¡¯m going to see to it that you never use them again you trash!¡±


    ¡°Your techniques?¡±


    Ryuu couldn¡¯t suppress his anger any more as he lifted Myoni and smashed him on his face.


    As he was about to slam him again Myoni used a shadow blade, that shot out of the ground and into the bottom of Ryuu¡¯s foot until it popped out of his thigh right above his knee cap.


    Blood sprayed all over the platform as Ryuu staggered back.


    Then using his shadow arms he lifted Myoni and slammed him again, then he released him as the shadow arms turned into wings.


    As Myoni pulled himself to his knees Ryuu¡¯s vision turned blood red as he flew up as he used his left hand to created a kaze cendrillion and heaved it at Myoni¡¯s back.
