《Dungeon Runner》 Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I was turning 16 soon, and I was stuffing my head with knowledge. My birthday is on October 15th, and December 31st is approaching rapidly. The most important event in my life is going to occur soon, as I''m going to enter the first floor of the dungeon.The 16th birthday, is like a coming of ceremony for everyone, as it is when they are allowed to enter the dungeon. December 31st is when the sixteen year-olds can enter, as everyone turns from 15 to 16 by then. I don''t live in a planet, there is no planets. The universe is one big dungeon, which has uncountable floors as no one has reached the top. There are many races living in the dungeon, they all have statuses. People have levels, which can be leveled up by killing monsters in the dungeon. I''m currently level 1, since I was born and raised in level 0, the first safe zone where there is no monsters. It is the most peaceful place in the dungeon, but it is the place void of experience for leveling up. Each floor is different, and have different challenges, all floors have mini-bosses, and every 5 floors, there is a safe zone. To enter the safe zone, you have to kill the mini-boss of that floor, it is the only challenge on that floor. After killing it, you may enter that floor (the whole floor is a safe zone) without having to fight the mini-boss. If you are born on a higher level, you don''t have to face the mini-bosses of safe zones on lower levels. The challenges in the dungeon may be mazes, survival, killing others or the labyrinth on the 100th floor. The challenge is written on an indestructible board when entering the floor. There may be rules for the floor, and if you fail to follow them, there will be consequences. It can range from years of labour for the dungeon to immediate death. There are also adventurer guilds, which have missions for specific dungeon floors. Many people earn money this way, and this is how many people choose to get richer. People also join the guild because it provides some basic training for free, while schools cost money. Even though there is various races like demons, humans, elves, etc, there is no discrimination except from certain groups. There are many hybrid creatures, such as myself, as I''m a half black tiger and half high elf. Because of my race, I had innate agility, and innate high mana and mana control, paired with my claws. I had average talent for archery among high elves. I had black hair, with green glowing eyes with a slit pupil instead of a round pupil, a sharp nose and had long ears. My ears are the most unique part of me, as it is long like an elf ear, but it is rounded at the tip and is covered with black fur. It was soft, and I had better hearing than an normal black tigers. My claws were black, and were retractable, and I had a soft black furred tail. Other than that, I was 6 foot 1 and had a lean figure. After reading my books, I started training my mana control. I made the mana weave around my arm, turn into a dragon, and turn into different shapes at varying speeds. When I finished training my mana control, I returned home as I had Dungeon Survival School, a school which teaches students how to survive in the dungeon. I took a bath, got my bag ready and headed downstairs. Then I heard my mom say " Arjun, come down faster! You''re going to be late to school at this rate." I hurry down the stairs, almost tumbling, and ran out. My mom kissed me on the cheek and gave me my lunch. My father was already at work at the adventurers guild, he was a manager of the guild, so he received some decent pay. The currency of the world is copper coin, bronze coin, silver coin, gold coin, diamond coin, dragon coin and finally royal coin. 10 copper equals 1 silver, 10 silver equals 1 gold, 10 gold equals 1 diamond, 100 diamond coin equals 1 dragon coin and finally 100 dragon coin equals 1 royal coin. The coins are impossible to make, and can only be earned as loot by killing monsters. A normal family earns off 1 gold a year, but my family makes 10 gold a year. My family can be consider slightly wealthy, but it isn''t much compared to the truly wealthy. The truly wealthy are lucky as they can purchase skill books. Skill books are items which lets anybody learn the skill without any effort, immediately. They are dropped by monsters, but they are creatable. Using a mana infused book, pour the information of the skill into the book and use the skill on it. This will make the skill enter the book and turn it into a skill book. It has 20% chance to cause same level to feel dizzy, 10% chance to sutn and 6% chance to knock out. Grinning for a while, I come back to my normal thoughts and dismissed my status and skills as I notice the school. I barely make it on time before the bell rang. School goes by quickly as I don''t have any friends. I don''t talk to people much as I always pay attention in class and diligently take notes. After school I train until I go to bed, sometimes not even returning home or sleeping. Waking up when I do sleep I train some more before coming to class. The reason I do this, is because my dream is to defeat all the levels of the dungeon. I suffer ridicule for many for having such a grand dream. Many say I can''t accomplish it, and no one can; they say I''m crazy and am wasting my time training, but I don''t listen to them. Even though I train and study so much every day, I''m not the best at either in my school. Many of the other students are extremely talented, and some even train diligently, albeit not as much as I do. Although I am around the top for academics, I am around the upper middle for combat. This doesn''t discourage me as I train extremely hard every day, and believe it will pay off one day. Continuing the same routine, my birthday arrived. While I was training, I felt a extremely painful headache. It felt like many ants were eating my soul piece by piece, while cooking it over a flame. The flame was so painful I fainted. When I clicked it, memories started flowing into my brain. It seems I used to be a man named Luke Smith, who was living in a world that was technologically advanced. That world then crumbled, because a new virus created creatures they called "zombies". The man was an engineer, and survived in the world for 5 years. One day, a handsome 24 blonde guy joined his survivor group. At first it didn''t really matter, but the man''s girlfriend started cheating on him for the man. The blonde guy had wild ambitions, and made Luke''s girlfriend to kill him in his sleep. He died at the age of 35, but he came back as a ghost to haunt the man and his girlfriend. He was satisfied when he found out the group died 1 week later under the leadership of the blonde guy, they all died cruelly. Satisfied, he dissipated from the world and came into my body. Coming back to reality, I saw the title.
Reincarnated One

I gained 30 points of Spirit, 25 intelligence, 17 charisma and 13 wisdom. I was surprised to get spirit, as it was the hardest stat to increase. Normal stats can be increased by training, or by using stat points you acquire from leveling up, but spirit can only be increased by meditation. Calming down a little, I proceeded to click on the title "2 Souls, 1 Body".
2 Souls, 1 Body
You have 2 souls residing inside of your body. 1 soul is yours, while the other soul is another person''s soul. Your soul is the dominate one, and is the reason you can control this body. You have gained 20 spirit and 10 vitality.
This title confused me at first, but when I read it, it made sense. It seems my body had to different souls, my soul, and the soul of Luke. It seems my soul was stronger, because I was born in the dungeon universe, also known as Starrim. This title gave me 20 spirit and 10 vitality, which made happy. Finally I clicked on the title I gained, "Merged Souls".
Merged Souls
The 2 souls in your body have merged together to create 1 massive soul. The stronger soul has gained awareness while it retains some of the qualities of the other soul. You have gained 40 spirit, 10 perception, 10 luck, 18 dexterity and the skills Soul Manipulation and Soul Sense
I kind of had a vague understanding of this title from its name. My guess was right, as the 2 souls in my body merged together, to create 1 soul. This I had the stronger soul, I had my personality kept, while only some of Luke''s personality is kept. I gained 40 spirit, 10 perception, 10 luck and 18 dexterity from the title. I was confused about what perception is, but it made me happy to get it. The thing that made me the happiest about the title is the increase in luck. Although spirit is the hardest stat to increase, luck cannot be increased by stat points. They are inherent from birth, and can only be increased by items and titles. Before checking out the skills, Soul Manipulation and Soul Sense, that I got from the "Merged Souls" title, I will check out my stats.

I clicked on the perception stat. It seems the perception stat came from having 100 spirit, the perception stat gives me better perception of danger and where enemies are going to strike. It is like the 6th sense. Spirit increases the strength of the soul and the persons awareness, every 10 spirit = 1 perception. Strength allows the person to cause more damage and carry heavier items. Agility allows the person to attack faster and move faster. Vitality is how much damage a person can take, how durable a person''s body is and how fast it heals (hp regen)., 1 vitality = 0.05 hp regen. Dexterity is reaction speed and hand-eye coordination. Intelligence is how fast a person can process things and the amount of mana a person has. 1 intelligence = 2 mana and 10 intelligence = 0.1 mana regen. Wisdom is increases magic damage ( for example if a person with 10 wisdom uses fireball on iron, it will make it hot, but if someone with 20 wisdom uses fireball on it, it will melt it into liquid metal) and mana regen. 1 wisdom = 0.05 mana regen. Charisma is how well a person can lead a group and how charming they are to others. Last but not the least, luck is how lucky a person is, for example: what drops they get from monsters, the people they encounter, how bargains go, how they survive dangerous situations, etc. Mana is how much spells they can use . Leveling up gives a person 2 stat points and 20 mana. Leveling up also gives the person 0.1 regen in mana, health. I started off with 210 mana, with 49 intelligence, I now have 308 mana. After thinking about the advantages of gaining a new stat, I go into my skill list.

Picklocking
You can picklock into storages, safes and houses more easily. You won''t make as much noise when you picklock. Using mana will help you picklock more efficiently. If using mana, 3 mana/sec.
Disarm
You can disarm others more quickly and better. Can take away weapons from others faster. Using mana will make you disarm faster and more effiiciently. 6 mana/item.

I become shocked at the sheer amount of skills I gained. It seems I gained it from Luke, while Soul Manipulation and Soul Sense came from the title "Merged Souls". Skills involving the are extremely rare and most of the times extremely strong. Knowing this fact made me excited. After going through my skills descriptions, I became happy about my major improvement in strength. Just as I was going to get up to test my new abilities, the rising sun blinded me eyes. That''s when I realized I had school. I call out World Clock after exiting my notifications.
Dungeon time is 6:30. Date is October 15. Year is 1379 ARP
World Clock is a feature of the Dungeon System all races have. It allows the person using it to know the time of the dungeon. Although it is useful, people still buy watches and clocks as some floors don''t permit the usage of the World Clock. This could be dangerous in many floors, so all parties have at least one watch. The time is 6:30 am and I have to arrive at school at 8:30 am. I rush home to shower and get my lunch. My parents weren''t worried were I was as I stay outside training the whole night a lot of times. I grinning the whole day, and people looked at me like I was crazy, but I don''t care. When school finished, I rushed back to train. This time, to try out my new skills. To be continued. Author''s note: Hey guys, hoped you enjoyed the chapter. This chapter will be last info dump in a while. Sorry I didn''t have the scenes of him training his skills this chapter I got tired from making all the tables. Here is a little spoiler, the Soul Manipulation is not what it seems like, it will be much more useful and powerful in the future. It will be the skill he mainly uses in the future, it''s true power will be revealed when he enters the dungeon. I took out health and stamina because I want this story to be more real, also it is easier to write. Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The bell was like the choir of the heavens to me. I rush out at top speed towards the woods where I usually train. Reaching there after about a quarter of an hour, I lean against a tree, panting. Resting up a little, I put my bag down and get up. I test out my new skill Soul Manipulation, which I guess will be harder to use than mana. I feel instead my body to find an energy, I see a blue energy, it is my mana. I search harder and harder, but I can''t find it anywhere, there was only one place I didn''t check and it was my brain. I slowly check throughout my brain, until I find a faintly glowing spot. I go closer to the glowing spot, I notice a white ball floating. The brain is connected to the white ball of light, which I''m assuming is my soul. If I die, I feel like my soul will cut off its ties with my brain. Examining it for a little while longer, I go on to try out my skill. I send some of my mana to wrap around my soul, then I use the mana to shape it and move around. I then bring my soul and move it around my body. I then try moving it out of my body, and see how far it can go. After stretching my soul it reaches the distance of 1 meter, it seems 1 spirit equals 1 cm. Playing around with Soul Manipulation a little more, I rest since I had only 50 mana left. Later, I tried out my Soul Sense skill. It sends out my soul in very miniscule amounts in the form of waves out. This forms a circle, with me in the middle. The radius of the circle is 100 meters, so I can see 100 meters anywhere around me. It is actually more like a sphere since I can see above and below me as well. I can also detect things I couldn''t normally see with my eyes like traps. I feel like this skill will work perfectly with the Detect Trap skill. Playing around with the skills for a while, I got both of the skills to Beginner Level 2. Manipulating my soul got easier, and the distance I could see with my Soul Sense enlarged to 110 meters.

You can manipulate, move and shape your soul at will, although only a little better than a complete amateur. 15 mana/sec.
I continued my routine of training, but with the addition of training my new skills. 1 week before December 31st, both my Soul Sense and Soul Manipulation went from beginner to intermediate. My Mana Manipulation upgraded to Intermediate Level 3, my Mana Armour went to Beginner Level 4, my Mana Roar to Beginner Level 6 and finally my Mana Claws to Beginner level 9. My Identify stayed the same as their was nothing new to identify. My upgrade in the skills were massive. My Soul Sense could now see 500 meters away, not 200 which I thought it would be, but the biggest improvement was Soul Manipulation. Now I can make shapes with my soul like I did with my mana.
Soul Sense

You can use soul sense to attack other peoples souls, and soul sense can reach furthur than your eyesight. Your soul sense can now defend against other peoples attacks to your soul . Soul Manipulation
You can manipulate, move and shape your soul at will like an experienced soul mage. 8 mana/sec.
I tried covering my claws in soul, and it worked. I''m guessing that when I hit another person, it will do damage to their soul. I also integrated my soul into my roar, the purpose of this was to damage the souls of other creatures, which will hopefully make more chances for stun, dizziness, etc. My skills updated because of this.
Mana/Soul Claw

You can cover your claws in your soul and can attack both the body and the soul of your enemy. I tried combining both the mana aspect and soul aspect of my skills together. It was hard at first, but I eventually got it down after a day of practicing. I''m guessing it was this easy to do because I use my mana to move around my soul.

The attack also has more reach and your soul won''t be damaged because of the mana covering it. 23 mana/sec

This will allow you to have all the effects of both the aspects, and they will be improved. The enemy will feel head-splitting headache and some minor pain throughout the body. The chance for for each effect have increased 5%. 85 mana/roar.

Blocking attacks with my soul? I don''t know what will happen but I''m guessing my soul will get damaged instead of my body. After thinking about it for a few days I eventually did make the skill to use as a last resort. It had a pretty good effect but I still feel insecure using it. I tried combining both aspects, but it only creates 2 layers of armour.
Mana/Soul Armour
Coats skill user in an armour of mana. Increases attack damage, defence and speed of user. 20 mana/sec. Can cover yourself in your soul. Instead of damage to your body, you do damage to your soul. Only by breaking the soul armour to you take damage. Causes damage to enemy''s soul and decreases the casting time of magic. It also increases the damage caused by the magic, roughly by 1 wisdom point in stats. 22 mana/sec. Combining both aspects of the spell only creates 2 layers of armour while causing a little boost in both of the armours effects. 45 mana/sec.
My last week flashed by in a flash, and I was saying goodbyes to my parents. " My son, are you sure you want to go? You know you can stay with me and your father right? You can inherit my bakery and live a safe life." My mother owns a bakery which is pretty famous in town. I just say "No mother, I don''t want to stay. As much as I would love to stay with you and father, I want to realize my dream to conquer the dungeon. " My mother looked like she wanted to say something, but my father put a hand on her shoulder and nod his head to say no. He then says " Son, I want you to know that both me and your mother are proud of you no matter what. If you ever want to stop climbing the floors, remember you will always have a home to return to. " He pulls me in a hug with my mother. We hug for a few minutes before my father pushes me away and says " Now go son, go realize your dreams. You better at least clear 10 floors. We will be always waiting for you here. Bye. " His voice cracks a little at the end, and tears flow down his face like my mother. I run towards the school with tears in my eyes. It was hard saying goodbye to your parents, fully knowing you might not return. But it''s worse for my parents, as they see off their only child going to a place full of dangers, not knowing if he will return. I wipe away my tears and smile, before I say " Dungeon here I come! The reason for this is because the first floor of the dungeon is like a test for people from the floor 0, you have to survive in it for a month, only then can you go to the second floor. You can choose to leave the floor during the test but if you do, you have to redo the test. Everyone has an unlimited amount of chances to complete the test. The principal walked onto the podium and gave us a speech. " All of you are students who graduated from the Dungeon Preparation School, you are the schools pride. If don''t succeed the first time, do it again. If you keep on failing, then keep on trying. Having an unwavering determination is what will bring you to climb the dungeon. Right after given out his speech, the principal brought everyone to the center of town. This is where the portal to the next floor is. I see a crowd of parents waiting beside it, I even spotted my parents. They were still lightly crying, but they had a smile on their face. The principal brought us on the stage the portal sits on. The guards lets us through as they know we are entering the dungeon. One by one, the students enter the dungeon. Each time, the principal calls up a student and says congratulations and some encouraging words and advice, before letting them enter. When it''s my turn, I walk towards the principal. The principal says " Good luck Arjun, I know you train countless times harder than others, and let me tell you this, it will pay off. I know you will accomplish great things, good luck and have a safe trip. Remember to build a shelter immediately, and keep it in a safe, secretive place. Good bye." I turn towards my parents and wave bye before entering the portal. I can hear my mom screaming " That''s my boy! " I see blue everywhere, before I land on land. I feel a little dizzy, but it disappears. I look around, there were massive trees everywhere. The portal teleports everyone to random locations in the floor. I got teleported to a relatively good area as I have a lot of materials to make my shelter. Letting out my claws in both my hand and feet and I walk towards a tree. My claws don''t destroy my clothing as I''m wearing gloves known as biker gloves on Earth, and special shoes. They can retract the front inside itself using mana. It''s like a garage, which is powered by mana. I''m wearing a white shirt and black pants, which have a hole in it for my tail. When I reach near a small tree, I use Mana Claws, then I sink my claws into the tree. I keep cutting at the same spot on the tree, before it falls down after 25 seconds. I used 125 mana in just toppling down one tree. I sigh at the fact my skills use up so much mana, I have to level my skill about more for the mana costs to decrease. Gathering up enough wood took my half an hour, but it was worth it. I used my engineering skill to make my house. Placing wood on trees, creating a hole in them to side the logs in, took a lot of work, but I gained 1 strength from it.

3 hours later and half way through building my house, I heard a twig snap. I turned around fiercely and looked around. I saw nothing, and I heard nothing. Creeping closer towards the place where the noise came from, I heard another twig snap, before getting pounced on. Just as I was turning, I see a massive lion jumping onto me. I reacting quickly I rolled off to the side. The lions claws scratching my left shoulder, causing it to bleed. The cut wasn''t too deep, and I can still move my left hand. Getting into a battle ready stance, I let out my claws and used the skill Mana Claws. I tried identifying the lion, but I couldn''t, which I knew meant it was higher than level 1. The lion charged at me, but I jumped on the tree and flipped over the lion. The lion crashed into a tree completely destroying it, before charging back at me. I was going to jump off another tree, but the lion jumped off the ground right at me. I didn''t have enough time to react. and the lion crashed at my chest. I crashed through a few trees, before rolling to a stop. My bones weren''t broken, but I was hurt badly. My back has massive cuts in them, and I was bleeding a lot. Shaking my head to stop it from hurting, I remember something vital, I forgot to put on my Mana Armour. Feeling like an idiot, I activated my skill, which burned through my mana even faster. The lion charged at me again, but this time I dodged to the side and stabbed my claws into it. The claws suck in, but didn''t go any deeper than a few inches. The hide of the lion was extremely tough. The lion charged at me, and I knew I had to finish the fight soon as my mana was going to run out soon. I combined both the mana and soul aspect of my claw skill, before using mana roar. I barely had 60 mana left, and I had to end this fight in less than a second. The lion kept on charging, but it was dizzy, it was swaying left to right, trying to keep its balance. I ran towards the lion and slid under it. I sunk both my claws in, which went in much easier than before. I used my Soul Manipulation and tried to hurt the soul of lion even more. I pushed the lion off of me before limping to the half built house. My right leg was hurt from the crash from the lion as my leg was on a tree trying to jump off. I had scrapes and bruises everywhere, and I had cuts on both my back and my shoulder. My head was burning in pain for using skills even when my mana ran out. Author''s note: Hey guys, hope you enjoyed the chapter. I know the chapter was kind of short, but the chapters will soon get longer. I''m sorry I didn''t post a chapter yesterday, I was busy and had no time. I''ll try to get out a second chapter today, but no promises. The poll will be up for 4 days, so that''s a lot of time. I have plans for both options so don''t worry. For no classes, people can learn any skill they want by doing actions. For example: manipulating fire into a shape of a ball and shooting it out to get the skill fireball, or looking for traps to get the Detect Trap skill. For classes, the classes will be allowed freedom. They will going give stats when you level up and allow you to gain skills involving the class easier. There will also be class skills, but other than that people can learn every skill but other class skills. Remember to leave feedback, criticism, reviews and comments, it will make the story better. Chapter 5: Chapter 5: I got up clutching my head. It still hurt from overusing my mana. When I opened my eyes, I saw a red haired, red eyed boy sitting beside me. He had 4 black horns sprouting out of his head, going towards his back, 2 scaly black wings and a black scorpion tail. I was about to scream. but the boy noticed me and covered my mouth. He pointed outside of my half-built house. When I looked outside, I saw 4 griffons eating the corpse of the lion from before. I pulled off the boys hand, and stayed on alert. The griffons finished the lion before surveying the area. After about 10 minutes the griffons got tired and flew away. When the griffons left, the boy sat on his bottom and left out a sigh of relief. I was still alert and I asked him " Who are you?" The boy replied " Come on man, calm down, I ain''t gonna attack you. I found your house while I was running away from those griffons. Luckily they were satisfied with the corpse of the lion. My name is Leon Ferrell, You can just call me Leon though. I came from the town Hurguston. What''s your name?" He said that while extending his arm out. I Identify him to make sure he isn''t lying.

It seems, he''s telling the truth, though I can''t see his level which leaves me uneasy. I hesitate for a moment before retracting my claws and shaking hands with him, while saying " My name is Arjun Hunter, I''m from the town Luron." Floor 0 has many different towns which each have a portal to enter the first floor. There are 2 types of safe zones, the true safe zones made by the dungeon (every 5 floors), and the man-made safe zones. If the floor permits it, the floor may have many different towns created by different races. Although it may attacked by monsters, it will be protected by the adventurers. These are the man-made safe zones, as they are towns on dangerous floors. Although every 5th floor is a safe zone, there are places you can rest on the other floors. The town I lived in was a relatively small town in floor 0, and it was pretty rural. Floor 0 is an extremely large floor which had empires, continents and oceans. Although it was huge, and the empires were strong, none of the people acted arrogant in the tower unless they had a backing. As for the town Hurguston, I had no idea where it is and how strong it is. Leon asks me " What race are you? I''m half royal Satan, half Scorpion King." This surprises me as he is a mix of 2 extremely strong races. Royal Satan''s, are demons that have the capability to be the demon lord. Scorpion Kings on the other hand have extremely deadly poison and are really good with earth/sand magic. Recovering after a moment, I reply " I''m half Black Tiger, half High Elf. My father''s a pure-blooded Black Tiger, my mother''s a pure-blooded High Elf." Leon says " Oh nice, those are pretty strong races. Well I''m going to leave, I''m going to make a house nearby to yours. Is that ok?" I think for a bit and say " Sure." I think to myself I need to be on more guard these days. Leon leaves and I sit down to rest. My day just started, and it is already tiring. I rest while I check my notifications. I remember hearing the notification dings, but when I say the notifications, I became surprised.

I gain 10 spirit? How the hell did this happen. I understand the mind of a tiger? That confuses me. I tried to remember what happened yesterday. I remember stabbing the lion and using Soul Manipulation on it to kill it faster. I check my skill Soul Manipulation, and what I saw shocked me.
Soul Manipulation
You can manipulate, move and shape your soul at will like an experienced soul mage. Using this skill, your soul is able to absorb the souls of other creatures. Absorbing a soul gives you an increase in your spirit. A whole soul rewards you with the 5% chance to gain something from their soul like exp, skill, memories, etc. Absorbing an incomplete soul or failing to absorb the full soul of a creature will only give you an increase in spirit. Getting interrupted when absorbing a soul causes you to take rebound damage. 15 mana/sec.
I can absorb the souls of my enemies to increase my spirit stat, and I had a 5% chance to gain something from their soul like exp, memories, skills, etc. This greatly shocked me, and I took a while to recover. I was extremely happy, and I realized that I was lucky enough to get the understanding of a lion''s mind and its esscence, which even gave me 4 intelligence. You can only acquire special things if you absorb the whole soul if its incomplete, you can only gain spirit. After looking through my notifications, I went to the carcass of the lion. Although all the meat and organs of lion were taken, the hide and bones were still there. I brought both of the items back to my half-built house. I took out my claws and cut the hide making bandages out of it. I then wrapped it around my wounds to help prevent it from getting infected. Some of my minor cuts already healed. I then used the rest of the hide to create a shirt for me as my shirt got destroyed by the lion. After I finished covering myself up, I thought about where I could put my 2 stat points. In the end, I put 1 into perception and 1 into agility. I chose agility because it is something that is innate to my race, and I chose perception to be able avoid dangerous situations better. I took a look at my status sheet, before closing it.

Dungeon time is 10:09 Am. Date is January 1st. Year is 1380 ARP
When I looked at the time, it seems I was unconscious for about 13 hours. ARP stands for After Race Peace. Before the races were at war, but now they all have a peace treaty and a new calendar started after the treaty was made. It was automatically implemented by the Dungeon when the races changed it. I went back to finishing my house, which took about 2 hours to finish. My house used many trees to support it and was very sturdy. Since I wanted to camouflage my house, I took the leaves of the trees to cover it. I also smeared mud and dirt on the house as well, leaving only a little space on each side as a window. Finishing up my final touches for the house, I walk to distance not to close to my house, before checking out my new gains. I first thought to the knowledge I acquired about lions. I felt emotions coursing through my body, I felt indomitable pride, I felt arrogance which is set in my bones, I felt amazing strength and I felt courage to face anything. These are the feelings of a lion, the king of the jungle, it is something innate to all lions. When I see something, I only see prey, I sneak to pounce on it, not because it''s strong, but because it might escape. My only friends are my pack, only they are fit to belong by me side. These thoughts overwhelmed me, and I felt my mana itching to move. I allowed my mana to move, the mana instantly flowed through me with vigor. All of my mana flowed to my right hand, along with all the feelings of a lion. The mana then began to appear on my hand before shaping itself into a lion. My claws extended out and became the teeth of the lion. When the lion fully formed, it let out a loud roar, before disappearing. I fell onto to the ground sweating out a pool. That mana lion used up all of my mana and energy, and scared me as well. I heard a ding sound before a notification appeared in front of my eyes.

Thinking about a good name for the skill I created, my memories from Earth surged up. A memory than separated from the rest, it was the memory of Luke reading a web-novel. That web-novel described of a mighty lion known as Regulus, also the brightest star of the constellation Leo the Lion. I thought about it for a while, I finally agreed it was a fitting name. I meditated before I used the skill again, before saying its name. It was pretty hard to use the skill, because I had to experience the same feeling as before. I named the skill Regulus''s Snare. Now I can use the skill easily because it became an offical skill of the dungeon.

A skill using the essence of lions, mana and the soul to attack enemies. It will dig into the enemy and grab a tight hold on him/her/it. Then you damage the enemy both physically and spiritually. The skill provides protetion to the arm and brings fear to the enemy. The attack is very sharp and can break through armours more easily. 10 percent chance to take away 30 durability from armour, weapons, etc, after one hit. 30 mana/sec. You may shoot out the skill. 45 mana/shot.

Since I entered the dungeon, the mana concentration will be much higher, which means I can recover using meditation. After meditation for 10 minutes, I gained the skill meditation.
Meditation
Meditating will recover your mana 4x the normal speed. Healing injuries is 1.5x the speed and resting takes 3x less than normal.
I grinned crazily from obtaining such an useful skill. Since my recovered, I went onto something I always wanted to try, Elemental Magic. To use magic like Fireball or Wind Cut, you have to understand the element to obtain the skill. I don''t know exactly what to do, but I sat back down into the meditative stance. I then sent my mana into the soil beneath me and tried to understand it''s properties. Every time my mana ran out, I would recover it using my meditation skill. Time passed by, and I got hungry, so I got up and went looking for food. Wandering the forest, I found a bush full of berries. Just as I was going to touch it, I remembered to use Identify on it.
Poisonous Berries
These berries are poisonous and makes the person who eats it to be paralyzed for 2 minutes. The effects from 1 hour to 2 hours to work.
"Tch" I clicked my tongue in annoyance as I wanted to find something to eat fast so I can train longer. I went more in to the forest, when I noticed a Rabbit. I used Identify on it, and it was a Level 1 Snow Hare.

I sneaked up on using the skill Sneak. My sneak wasn''t as good as before as I had to limp on one leg. I picked up a stick, and threw it at the Hare. The Hare dodged to the right, and I charged it, my leg hurt a lot, but I still charged. I tried to strike down on it, but it jumped over my hand and started hopping away. I used Mana Roar which stunned the poor creature. I then used Regulus''s Snare which let me have a tight grip on it. The life flowed out of the hare while I stole its soul. I gained 3 spirit out of the Hare.

When It fell limp, I dropped it before vomiting on the side. Even though I killed the lion before, it was for self defence and I fainted immediately after. This time I killed a defenceless creature and stayed conscious watching it die. This was a first, and I wasn''t used to it. Calming down a little, I took the dead body to my house. I then made a campfire and roasted the Hare. While it was roasting, Leon popped out of nowhere. " Hey there Arjun, how''s it going. I smell something nice, is it ok if I have some? I''ll pay you back later." I stare at him, thinking. I didn''t want to give my hard work to him, but I didn''t want an enemy so early into the dungeon. After a few moments of hesitation, I handed a leg to Leon. He just smiled back happily before taking the leg and sitting across from me. He started devouring the meat like a hungry pack mule. I raised my eyebrow at that, and it seems he noticed. He gulps down his food before flashing his smile at me again and saying " I didn''t have food before entering the Dungeon. I was too excited. Also, this is one of the best meat I ever tasted. I even got a strength buff from it. Are you a professional cook?" I already got used to the praise from my cooking, as I practiced cooking at home, which my parents looked. Whenever I was home, my parents forced me to cook for them. The one thing that surprised me was that, the meat tasted extremely delicious even though I didn''t do anything to it other than cooking it. It was also the first time someone got a stat bonus from my cooking. It seems only meat from the dungeon can give people stat bonuses. Although there are animals in floor 0, they never gave stat bonuses like the Hare. I just replied " Nah, I just like cooking." Not fully convinced, Leon stops questioning me before sucking in his food again. When he finished eating, he said "thanks," before leaving again. Even though he seems friendly enough, I still feel nervous and won''t stay off my guard. After I finished my food, I went back to my house and restarted my attempt to understand the fundamentals of earth. 2 days passed on similar to this day, practicing skills, comprehending earth, hunting for food, sharing and talking with Leon. Chapter 6: Chapter 6: During the past few days, I remembered about my skill Soul Sense, which I was happy I had. It made my life much easier, whenever I was hunting, I would use it to locate some Snow Hares, while also avoiding dangerous creatures. I also learned something new about this ability, I can use Identify along with Soul Sense. So anything I find in my 500 meter range, I can Identify. I even gained 16 spirit from absorbing their souls. While I was killing the animals, I gradually got used to killing the animals without barfing. The first few times were bad as I still had a bad stomach after killing them, but I adjusted to it. Regulus''s Snare leveled up Beginner Level 2. I even leveled once to level 3, and I put one stat point into strength and the other into perception.

I located Leon''s house, which was 300 meters away from mine. The strange thing is, even though I''m level 3, I still can''t Identify his level. Every day, Leon comes and eats with, but now he brings his own food. I tried combining my Soul Sense with my Mana Manipulation to understand the mysteries of the earth element, and surprisingly, it worked. Some of the mysteries of the earth unraveled to me. I started to gain knowledge on how earth works and how rocks are formed. I also learned how mana can interact with earth, for example: strengthening the earth and compressing it. While the mysteries of earth unpackaged itself for me, some memories of Luke surfaced. Although Luke lived in a world without mana and was a world leaning towards the scientific spectrum, the knowledge they learned helped me. I learned about erosion, about trees keeping soil together, about sand and about the lava and magma. Normal people would have took around 6 hours to understand the mysteries of the earth, but I took 1 and a hours to learn it. It was not because I was extremely talented, it was because I had the skill Soul Sense, coupled with the knowledge from Luke and my merged soul. I heard a ding sound and broke out of my meditation. I fall out of my meditative state and rest on my back, wiping the sweat while checking the notification.
Earth Manipulation
You can now use your mana to manipulate the mana of earth. The amount of mana you use depends how long you use the earth mana and how much you use, as well as how you manipulate it.
I showed a toothy grin to no one, but it was satisfying. After resting a bit, I got up and walked a little farther into the woods to try out the skill Earth Manipulation. I learned in class that although you can manipulate earth mana, you can''t manipulate other peoples elemental magic as they have their mana signature on it, just like how they can''t manipulate my magic. I send out my mana into the earth to control the earth mana. Earth mana is not flexible and smooth like normal mana, it was sturdy and compressed. It was like an unmovable wall. Some brown mana started to flow out of the earth and form into a ball in front of me. Bringing out the earth mana, I tried imagining a lance made out of rock. Visualising it took about 10 minutes, but it was worth it. It was a meter long , 6 inch thick, stone lance. I shot it out with my mana, and it pierced through 2 trees, before landing on the ground. Rock Lance, sounded like a fitting name for it. Manipulating the earth mana took all my mana, so I meditated, which resulted in the skill leveling up.

While I was meditating, I looked over Luke''s knowledge to find anything that can help me. To tell the truth, I feel like Luke''s memories are like a treasure trove, most of his knowledge is useful. I tried spinning my rock lance, and its powers increased dramatically. Although its power increased, so did its mana cost. I named this skill Revolving Rock Lance. While I was training, I made some useful moves with the earth mana. Some of moves I made were, making an armour out of rock, a wall made out of rock and lastly a rock spike coming out of surfaces in contact with earth. The names of these skills were Rock Armour, Stone Wall and finally Rock Spike. Although I got no system notifications form creating these skills, I just named them to explain to others more easily. After resting for a bit, I went hunting to find some food. I took out a map, which I created of the area I traveled in the forest. Creating the map even rewarded me with a new skill.

I went to an area with a relatively high number of Snow Hares. I activated Sneak so that I don''t scare any of the rabbits, but I noticed something is not normal, I can''t locate any of the rabbits. I activated my Soul Sense, and I noticed that all the Snow Hares gathered. I tried concentrating my Soul Sense on the specific spot, and I noticed something different about one of the rabbits. The rabbit had a horn, and had red eyes. I Identified the rabbit, and I got ready for a fight.

A level 2 Horned Rabbit, it was the strongest monster that I found other than that lion. Since I got much stronger than before, I wanted to fight the rabbit. I sneaked close to the rabbit pack and sat down to meditate. I need as much energy and mana as possible to fight the rabbit. As soon as I rested enough, I started channeling earth mana to create a Revolving Rock Lance, which took about 20 seconds. I then used Soul Sense to locate the rabbit. When I found it and positioned my attack, I let it fly. The rabbit pack was in a tiny meadow which is surrounded by the forest. I was perched high up on a tree, and the moment my attack went loose, I jumped across to trees to avoid the rabbits detection. Turning my head over, I looked at the Horned Rabbit, it seems it sensed the attack and jumped out of the way. All the rabbits then turned towards the tree I was on and charged it. Normally the Snow Hares weren''t aggressive, but under the lead of the Horned Rabbit, they started to attack. Soon the tree got toppled over, but they found nothing. Noticing this, the Horned Rabbit commanded the others to attack every tree surrounding the meadow. I quickly jumped all the way to the back of Horned Rabbit, and sent my mana into the Rock lance. I then shot it back at the rabbit. Sensing it the rabbit narrowly dodged, but it got a scrape on its belly. This enraged the rabbit, which caused it to slam into the tree I was on. The tree toppled over, but I was able to jump onto another tree. Knowing that it will be hard to kill the Horned Rabbit, I went after its minions. I used Soul Sense to attack all of their souls, but I failed because all together, their souls are stronger than mine. So I tried again, but did it one by one. There were 20 Snow Hares in total, and after absorbing their souls, I gained 25 points in spirit. I was almost out of mana, so I couldn''t use my elemental magic in the risk I might not kill the Horned Rabbit with the mana left. So I jumped onto the ground and sneaked towards the rabbit. When I was close enough, I jumped towards the rabbit using Regulus''s Snare with my left hand. The rabbit turned around, but I grabbed hold of it. I started to smirk in happiness, but the rabbit didn''t let everything go my way. As I was absorbing its soul, it stabbed its horn into my left hand. I let go of the rabbit in pain, before receiving the backlash of breaking away when absorbing a soul. I then spit out a mouthful of blood, which luckily lands on the rabbit blinding it for a moment. Using this I jump backwards and try to hide again to sneak attack, but the rabbit lunges towards me. While it was attacking me, time slowed down. I think this is what people call slow-motion perception. It supposedly happens in a life and death situation, but I feel like mine is much stronger than a normal persons. Is it because of my perception stat? The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. The rabbit is slowly flying towards to my heart, and I tried to think of something to defend against it. I then remember my skill, Stone Wall. I slam my right hand onto the ground, and everything returns to normal. A wall springs up from the ground, and the rabbit slams into it. Its horn made a hole through the wall and was inches away from my heart. Luckily the wall stopped the attack. Reacting solely on instinct at this moment, I smash my palm on to the stone wall. This pushes the wall outwards, creating a stone spike that pierces through the rabbit. The rabbit struggled for a while before dying. I got no spirit because I didn''t absorb it''s soul, my magic killed it. I fall back on my butt and wipe the sweat off my forehead before sighing in relief. Thinking about it for a moment, I succeeded, I beat pack of rabbits. I then scream " Yes I did it!" and started dancing and celebrating. The kill notifications appeared.

After calming down, I cut off the hide of the rabbit and wrap around my arm wound. I have now gained another wound, and my other wounds weren''t even fully healed. At least my leg healed, and I don''t have to limp anymore. I meditated to rest a little. When I was fully ready, I got up. Picking up my trophy, I headed back to my house. I carried the rest of the rabbits in a stone wagon I created. When I arrived home, I put the other rabbits in my house, to save for later. Now I don''t have to hunt for a few days. I brought out the Horned Rabbit and took all of its hide off. Cleaning it under water, I then took a took a stick and put it through the rabbit. I then add some spices, I found them in the forest while I was wandering. It was some Blue Pepper, Purple Onion and some Black Curry Leaves. Although I didn''t have a lot of spices, it was enough for a tasty meal. The Blue Pepper, gave the meat some spicy flavor, as well as softening the meat and giving it a cool touch. It also gave the meat a sour taste. Purple Onions gave the meat a crispy flavour as well as some salty taste. It also contradicts the Blue Pepper, which causes you to have a explosion of flavour, every bite is spicy but goes into a cool sweet taste. The Black Curry Leaves give the meat a nice aroma. It enhances the tastes as well as making meat melt in your mouth after each crispy bite. I read some books on spices on floor 0 since I got the cooking skill to advanced. Just as I finished cooking it, I saw Leon running through the woods to my direction. He tripped on a rock, but he immediately got up. He was drooling a waterfall. He had some food in his hand but he didn''t even care about it. He came to me and kowtowed asking " Please can I have some of that meat. I''ll trade all my meat for a little of yours. PLEASEEEE!" He looked up at me with puppy eyes. I sighed at his pitiful appearance and gave him some meat. I just say " You can keep your meat." He looks at me with shining eyes and yells "Thank you thank you," in delight. As soon as he finished he said thank you once again and left. I look at him with a weird gaze, not knowing what to do. After I finish my meal, I go to my usual training area, and sit in my meditative position. I then try to comprehend the other elements in the same way I did with earth (Soul Sense combined with the mana). Author''s note: Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I know there is a lot going on in this chapter, but I hope you guys can bear with it. There will be more fighting coming up. How was the fighting scene? Was it good? Remember to leave feedback, criticism, reviews and comments, it will make the story better. Chapter 7: There have been some important changes, so read the author''s note. Chapter 7: Getting the skills for fire, water and wind were much easier than getting earth, since I had experience this time. It took me about 4 days to get all the skills, which was much better than it was for getting earth. I still couldn''t get the more advanced elements like light, darkness, lightning, etc. The descriptions for skills were pretty similar to the descriptions for earth.
Water Manipulation

Wind Manipulation
You can now use your mana to manipulate the mana of wind. The amount of mana you use depends how long you use the wind mana and how much you use, as well as how you manipulate it.
Although the descriptions were similar, elements mana were much different. Water was smooth, gentle and flows on. It feels like it is never ending. Wind is unrestraint, fast and hyperactive. It doesn''t stay at one place for long. Fire is fiery, arrogant and prideful., but it cares for its friends. It can keep on growing forever, and is easily angered, especially for its friends. All the elements have their good points and I named some of the moves I made for the elements. I made Wind Slash, it''s like it names says, its compressed wind which slashes at your enemy. Fireball, a ball of fire which can be shot out. Lastly, Waterbullet, its similar Fireball, but it''s smaller and faster. It also doesn''t do as much damage as Fireball. While I was comprehending the elements, I also learned something about my abilities. Creating the element takes a lot of mana, but if you take an existing part of the element, like water from a lake, you use a significantly less amount of mana. The only downsides are that it won''t be as strong as when you create it from scratch and if someone has a much higher level of the element''s manipulation skill, they can control your attack. This is because using outside sources means that your mana imprint isn''t in it. Since I finished gaining the basic elements, I feel like I''m ready to go do some more battling. Since I won''t be gaining any new skills in a long time, I fell like getting more battle experience will be way I''ll get stronger fastest. I took out my map and started to head in to the forest. I go in a direction I never went before. The moment I reached outside of my maps view, I used Soul Sense and sketched a rough layout of what I did. I made the paper for the map by peeling off bark from a tree and washing it. When it was clean and the bark was dampened enough, I peeled out the layers and washed the chalky insides. After washing it once more, I let it dry. I then stuck the bark paper together using some honey and syrup. When it dried, I washed the paper once more to get the left over honey and syrup off the surface. And that''s how you have a homemade map, I got the information to map maps from Luke''s memories. As for the writing utensil, I used a white rock I found on the ground. It is kind of like the chalk from Luke''s memories. When I finished the rough sketch of the surrounding areas, I started to walk forward, until I encountered a creature. While I was walking, my Soul Sense located a creature. The creature was green and looked like a really ugly human child. It was wearing loincloth and was holding a wooden club in its hands. I remember reading about these creatures in a book, it was a Goblin. Goblins are known for being stupid and rapists. They normally kidnap women from the other races and rape them. The pregnant woman usually give birth to new Goblins in about a month. Goblins are considered monsters by even the dungeon and can''t leave the floor they are assigned to. Although they are considered monsters, there is a special race which the dungeon considers the same as other races like humans. This race of Goblins are called the Aether Goblins, and unlike their monster counterparts, they have intelligence comparable to humans and other races. To identify an Aether Goblin, you have to check their forehead, as they have a black sun insignia. All Aether Goblins have that mark on their forehead, and it''s what differentiates them from monsters. Aether Goblins are tall like other races and are not rapists. The black sun insignia is on every race that has monster counterparts. For example: Ogres, Hydras and Dragons, although they are considered to be monsters by the dungeon, they have a special variant in their race which is considered by the Dungeon to be a non-monster. To identify them, check for the insignia, or check if their on a floor their not suppose to be on. All monsters are not allowed to leave the floor they are assigned to, and this helps Dungeon Explorers identify the special variants. All the variants have the word Aether before their race, for example: Aether Goblin or Aether Dragon. Another way to identify the variant race is to identify to see if they have a name, only the variant race of the species can have names. The dungeon is a little weird in that although legendary monsters like Dragons and Phoenixes are extremely smart, they are considered monsters unless they have the insignia bestowed by the dungeon to a special race of variants of that species. Breaking out of my thoughts, I identified the creature to see if it was an Aether Goblin. It didn''t have an insignia and when I identified it didn''t have a name. It only said Goblin Clubber Level 3.

Feeling like this is a good challenge, I closed in on the goblins. When I was close to them, I waited a few minutes to recover. The Goblins were just eating a rabbit while laughing. When I was recovered, I waited for the best moment to strike. After waiting about 30 minutes, 1 of the goblins got up and went into the forest. I followed him, to find him taking a piss. I got down from the tree I was on and sneaked up on the goblin. This was one of the Goblin Clubber''s, and this one left it''s club back at the campsite with the other Goblins. This shows that the Goblins are truly stupid. I snickered a little at their stupidity, before manipulating the earth to create a Revolving Rock Lance, which I shot at the neck of the Goblin. The Goblin didn''t notice this and got killed in an instant, but that''s when I realized I made a mistake. Although I killed a Goblin, the Revolving Rock Lance kept on flying and crashed through some trees, causing some noise. This alerted the Goblins, and I can hear the Goblins screaming. I quickly climbed a tree and jump across the trees to a safe location. The Goblins quickly came running towards the site. The Goblin Swordsman had some chainmail on, which meant he will be even more of a hassle to deal with. When the Goblins saw one of their own was dead, they started screaming in anger, or at least that''s what I think they are doing. Even though every resident of the dungeon use the same language, Jurgon, the monsters don''t. I created 4 pebbles before throwing 1 down, a little left to where the Goblins were. The Goblins heard the noise and started to head there, but then I quickly threw the rest down in different locations. The Goblins looked confused and scratched their heads, but the Goblin Swordsman started talking. After he finished, the Goblins spilt off and went into the different locations the noises came from. My gamble on the Goblins stupidity worked, they split off, which gives me more chances to win by picking them off. I followed one of the Goblin Clubber''s, and sneaked up on him. Just as I was going to kill him, I felt danger coming from behind me. I quickly roll to the left, dodging a sword slash, barely escaping death. I see the Goblin Swordsman standing there and sneering at me, before lunging at me. This alerts the other Goblin who also tries to attack with me with his club. I slam my hand on the ground and manipulate it to form a wall in front of me. The club does no damage to the walk, but the metal sword cuts through the wall, but it doesn''t reach me. I then use Rock Spike on the wall, which extend towards the Goblins. The Goblin Swordsman quickly parries with his sword and manages to block it, but the Goblin Clubber gets impaled in the left shoulder. The swordsman gets angry and tries to attack me, but I quickly grab on to the top of the wall and pull myself up. I then jump off it on to the trees and hide myself. The Goblin Clubber frees himself and cries a little in pain. While clutching his shoulder, he follows the swordsman to rally up the other Goblins. The moment they gather up, I shoot out a Fireball which explodes on them. Smokes rises up and I hear moans off pain. When the smokes clears, I see the injuries I caused. The Goblin Clubber that got impaled got burns all over his body. Although they were not serious, it will affect his combat ability. He also got lucky as his wound from before got burnt and stops bleeding. The other clubbers have some burns as well except for one who got hit by the Fireball, his entire right hand got incinerated and he was on the ground roaring in pain. The swordsman had even less injuries as his armour took the brunt of the damage. The Goblins get up and scream at me, or so I guess, and they make way to the tree I was last on. They try to attack it, but I send a Waterbullet. It hits the swordsman and makes him fall down, but does little to no damage because of his helmet. He yells and charges at my tree, but I release other bullets from different directions at him. He dodges but looks around confusedly and angrily. I make my way to the clubbers and slowly get down from my tree. I then put my hand on the ground and create 1 Revolving Rock Lance before shooting it at the handicapped clubber. It hits his chest and caves it in. The Goblin dies but it alerts the other Goblins. They make way to me, but I make the lance to come back and stab another clubber. This time they were ready and dodge, but one of the Goblins lost a leg because I shot a Wind Slash at it. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. I quickly jump onto a tree and go to a tree quite some distance away before meditating. The Goblins screamed in anger and attacked random trees, toppling them down. The handicapped Goblin was helped up by one of the other clubbers. I recovered half of my mana pool before attacking again. I charge up a massive Fireball, using up all my remaining mana before shooting at the clubbers. The swordsman notices and screams at the others while running away. The Goblins got 2 meters away before the Fireball landed on the ground. A huge explosion occurred and the nearby trees got destroyed. When the smoke cleared, I saw a crater and all the clubbers corpses. Their bodies were mangled and burnt beyond comparison. The swordsman was heavily injured and was slumped against a tree. He barely survived because of his armour and his escaping speed. I recover my mana enough for one more attack before jumping down. I walk towards the Goblin, and its eyes open up in anger. It tries to move but fails, and I then use Regulus''s Snare on the creature and absorbed its soul. I leveled up once and gained 20 spirit from it. I put both stat points into perception, which saved my life today. My earth manipulation also leveled up. All my kill notifications popped up.

I also changed some of the mana costs of the skills, like soul manipulation and earth manipulation. Chapter 6 was also changed, I added the kill notfications and Arjun gained 16 spirit for absorbing the Snow Hares souls in the beginning of the chapter. Chapter 8: Chapter 8: I used Soul Sense to find Leon''s house. When I arrived at his house, I hid on top of a tree, waiting for Leon. I waited for about 2 hours before Leon came out. He was draped in a cloak which hid his features. He then started sprinting in a direction. He sprinted around 12 miles before he stopped and hid behind a tree. I spread my Soul Sense to see what he was hiding from. There was a group of individuals, Dungeon Explorers taking the 1st floor test, camping together. I guess these people teamed up together when they found each other. There was roughly about 6 individuals. Leon was staring intently at the individuals. They were all humans, which confused me. None of them were hybrids either. A blond man with nicely combed hair and wearing lavishly embroidered clothes, befitting that of a noble, seemed to be the leader of the group. In fact, all humans seemed to be from a noble family. I sensed bloodlust, and turned to look at Leon. I felt a tingling sensation that things are going to get bad. Before I can do anything, Leon launched himself at the group. The group was caught off guard, and scrambled to get their weapons. Not allowing them to, Leon shot 6 black masses towards them. I''m assuming that the black masses are attacks created from the element of darkness. The leader of the group seemed more composed than the others and encased his group in ice. The balls of darkness bore into the ice dome but couldn''t make it past halfway. I think that the blonde used a lot of mana to create that dome of ice. The ice dome slowly created a hole in the center from which lances made out of ice flew out. Flowing that, fireballs came out. Then came the surprising part, Leon dodge or blocked all the attacks. The first few ice lances, he would either dodge or slap away with his tail, but the last ice spike, he used as a foothold to use to jump over the rest of the attacks. A sword popped up in his hand, and it was covered in darkness, emitting a strong killing intent. I don''t know how he brought that sword into the 1st floor, but I sure as heck want to know. The killing intent scared the group, and in a few moments Leon arrived besides them. Just as he was going to swing down his sword to end his life, I summoned an earth wall to defend them. I wasn''t sure why he wanted to kill them, but I have to stop it. I''m not one of those hero''s claiming to cleanse the world of evil, but if something bad is happening in front of me, I will at least try my best to stop it. A would without evil? That will be boring and almost nigh impossible. Everyone has their own wishes and greed, plus you might consider someone evil, but in turn that person might consider you evil. A perfect utopia without evil, never heard of it and probably never see one. As I was thinking that, a quote from a Japanese web novel (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari), appeared in my mind. " There are as many forms of justice as there are people in the world. One¡¯s Justice is¡­ always evil in another¡¯s eye¡¯s. My justice is the same. Because from the start, the opposite of Justice wasn¡¯t evil. It was justice. Evil is merely the label for the loser¡¯s justice. " (this is not my quote, so don''t sue me.) This quote is true and is something both me and Luke believe in. Shaking my head, I got out of my thoughts. Leon''s slash broke the wall but stopped there. He looked confused, as did the others. The leader of the group broke out of his daze and threw something at the ground. The moment it hit the ground, a blinding light appeared, and by the time it disappeared, the group also disappeared. Leon opened his eyes, and looked around. The moment he realized that the group escaped, he became angry and scream " WHICH BASTARD HELPED THEM!" He started shooting balls of darkness at trees. One of them coincidently hit mine. I fell from the tree and landed on the ground. This alerted Leon, who quickly turned his head to face me. When he noticed me, his eyes opened wide. He stared at me and said "Why." Which I replied with " Why did you attack them?" Leon didn''t answer and attacked me. I summoned another wall to defend myself, before using Rock Spike. Leon destroyed it with his sword before jumping over the wall at me. I quickly roll to the side and shoot a Waterbullet at him. He swings his sword at me, but the bullet hits his hand. It loosens his grip on the sword, to which I used as an advantage. I repeatedly shot bullets at his hand. Eventually his sword fell out of his grip, and I used that moment to use Mana Howl. It only causes him to cover his ears, and I use that moment to put the sword I looted from the Goblin Swordsman. When I was training in floor 0, I never used any weapons because I had my claws. My claws are my best weapons as they are strong and durable, get stronger with me and have the most connection with me. The reason I took the sword is because of the skill I gained from Luke. Since he was good at using blades, it will mean I will be good at them as well. I say " Surrender." Leon, takes his hands off his ears and smirks. I felt danger and brought my sword up to defend myself, Leon''s tail smashes into my sword, sending it flying. I run towards my sword and pick it up, Leon does the same. I can use my claws to fight him, but I want to learn how to use the sword as well. Leon charges me and swing at me with an overhand slash, but I parry it with a underhand slash. He then steps sideways, before charging me again. This time, his swords comes pointed straight at me chest, I do a sideways slash to knock it to the side. My sword rebounds off, and Leon uses this slight fault in my moves to attack me with his tail. Not having enough time to block, I send a Wind Slash at his tail. His tail ducks under, but I kick it away. Leon then spreads his wings and flies into the air. Totally forgetting about the fact he can fly, I stay in a daze. Using this moment, he kicks me chest, which sends me flying into a tree. I slide off and Leon dives at me. I throw my sword at him, to which he swats away, but I bring out my claws and pounce at him. He tries to use his tail to stab me, but my tail curls around it, holding it firm and away from me. I use Regulus''s Snare, but Leon senses the danger and moves his right arm, the one holding the sword away. He then slams his other fist at me, but grab onto it and flip over him. I then grab his shoulders, and bring my face close to his ears, before using another Mana Roar, but this time including the soul aspect. This time, Leon faints immediately and starts to bleed from his ears. Leon falls out of the sky and hits a tree. The last part of the battle all happened in the air in around a few minutes. Chapter 9: Hey guys, important notice, for all of you who wanted classes, sorry but there will not be classes. Chapter 9: Leon woke up a few minutes later, the moment he woke up, he noticed me. He tried to get up and attack me, but he notices he can''t move because of the rope. He also noticed his weapon is gone, I took it. The weapon is dangerous as it completely eroded my sword. Although I can still use my sword, it is trash now with random holes on its side. Leon glares daggers at me and asks "What are you going to do to me?" Instead of answering his question, I ask him a question in return. "Why did you attack that group from before?" He looks away and replies "Why should I tell you?" I look at him and point my sword at him; for some strange reason, I can''t use Leon''s sword, it hurts me whenever I swing it. "If you value your life, answer my question!" Although I''m threatening Leon to death, I, myself, don''t know if I can kill him. I never killed someone before, even though I killed monsters, they are different to something I consider a "person". I don''t know if I can kill a random person I don''t even now, much less Leon, whom I interacted with for more than a week. His head turns to face me, and one of his eyebrows raises. He hesitates a little, then says "Fine, I''ll tell you." "As you know, I have the Royal Satan blood in me. Well, not only did I have the blood, I was also the heir to the Demon Lord. My father was the Demon Lord, while my mother was the matriarch of the Scorpion King clan. While I was supposed to be the Demon Lord, my younger brother was supposed to be the heir to the Scorpion King Clan." Him being the heir to the Demon Lord surprised me. The Demon Lord was supposedly living on the 109th floor of the dungeon. " I was born on the 10th floor of the dungeon as my parents were on a vacation. Because of that, I didn''t have that much of an advantage over those living on the 0th floor. As you now, the higher floor your born on, the stronger your body will be from the denser mana on the floor." I nodded to affirm that. " I lived with my parents for about 4 years, before my life turned to the worse. A secret association called the NS, Neo-Salvation, attacked my family. The organization is made out of pure blooded humans, who think that humans are a superior race to all others. They think humans should rule the dungeon, and that any half-blooded humans, or non -humans should be slaves to humans." Hearing this angered me, but also let me get a understanding of where this is going. "My family got annihilated by the organization. It seems that the organization was an ancient one, from way before the race equality pact. Although my father and mother are powerful, they only managed to take down some of the higher echelons of the organization with them. Both the Royal Satan clan, and the Scorpion King clan got annihilated. Only me, some of my servants and my uncle survived. My brother and parents got killed by the organization, and that''s when swore that I will eradicate the NS organization and drag their dirty corpses to my families grave. Their deaths will not be nice, they will pay." Already guessed the answer at this point, I was wondering why no news on this has been released. "My uncle sent me to the 0th floor and went up to the 109th floor by himself. Both him my father were identical twins, so he took over as the Demon Lord, temporarily until I get stronger. He is only acting as Demon Lord to keep the Demon race under control. He also strictly forbade any of the higher echelons of the Demon Race from revealing the deaths of the Scorpion King clan and the Royal Satan Bloodline. My uncle didn''t reveal anything about me, not even to his most trusted friends to keep me safe. I lived in the 0th floor and trained, sometimes entering stronger floors to train." When I heard he went to higher floors to train, I scream in surprise, " Wait what. You went to higher floors? I though you can enter only at the age 16.?" He looks at me like I''m an idiot and says "That''s only the formality everyone goes through. It is not required to enter the dungeon only at 16, people are only let in then because that''s when people think you are ready to enter the dungeon. In reality, you can enter whenever you want." I look at him in shock, not knowing what to say. Leon just glances at me for a while before continuing. "Since I was born on the 10th floor, I can skip the 1st floor test, but I only took it because I don''t want to be noticed by NS. Since I lived in the 0th floor for most of my life, I wanted the NS to think I was born there. My servants raised me there for most of my life." I then ask him another question, " What level are you?" He just replies " Level 8. I would have been at a higher level, but I couldn''t stay in higher levels for long, just so that I don''t get noticed." I then ask him a series of questions "Why did you attack the group from before and why did you tell me your race when we met before.?" He says "I attacked the group because they were part of the NS. Didn''t you notice they all were pure blooded humans? I told you my race since no one knows about the death of the Royal Satan race, and if you knew your races and I lied, you would have gotten suspicious about me." I walk around a bite while biting my lower lip, thinking about what he said. I usually bite my lower lip when I''m thinking. I can''t totally believe what he just said, he might lying, but I have no way to prove it. For all I can know, he might be the one that is part of an organization that extreminates pure blooded humans. That''s when an idea popped into my head. I''ll act like he i''m helping him to find out if he''s lying or not. I''ll investigate what he''s doing, and try to get a chance to absorb the souls of humans he tried to kill. I know it''s cruel, but Leon will eventually kill them, might as well get some info from them. I untie his ropes and let him go. "You are free to go, but let me ask you something. Can I help you with your revenge?" He looks at me with suspicious eyes, and questions " Why?" I just say "I want to help because you said the NS will target any non humans. My family is non-human, including me. Which means that my family will eventually get targeted, and I can''t let that happen." He stares at me for a while before saying " Ok," and walking off, still not convinced with my reason. I look at him as he walks away with a lonely back, before walking home. Also leave comments on how you guys think the story is going and any suggestions you guys have. Cya tommorow. Chapter 10 Chapter 10: I head back home after talking to Leon. When I reach home, I lie on my back outside of it. Leon''s disturbing story kept on repeating in my mind. He had a sad childhood, and I couldn''t imagine my life without my parents. My parents were the people who supported me most in my dream, even though they knew it was nigh impossible. They never gave up on me or belittled my dream, instead they motivated me to try harder. Thinking about their support and love towards me rekindled my desire to protect them. Although I wanted to get stronger faster, I just wanted to rest today. The story affected me more than I thought. It was night time, and stars appeared in the sky. One of my hobbies was to just rest and stare at the beautiful night sky. Today was different though, a thought appeared in my mind, before many other ones emerged. How do stars exist? The universe is just a dungeon, there is nothing beyond the floor. How could stars appear? In Luke''s memories, stars are massive balls of gases, mostly Hydrogen and Helium. Is it possible to travel into space in the dungeon? Is there even solar systems in a dungeon floor? Is the dungeon just creating an illusion? Many questions appeared in my brain, and a cool wind brushed across my body. These thoughts went through my mind for a while, before I lied down, not thinking about anything. Eyes closed, I dozed off. A dream about my past, about my conviction to clear the dungeon, flashed through my mind. I was 8 at the time, back then I didn''t really train or want to clear the dungeon, I just wanted a peaceful life with my family. Playing sports with the other kids was my favourite pastime. One day, I was walking home after a game of soccer with a few of my friends, when I heard scream. For some reason the voice sounded similar, and it took me about 5 minutes to realize it was my mothers. I dropped the soccer ball in my hand and sprinted towards my house. I saw a familiar bakery in my sight and I noticed that the door was kicked down and a customer of my mother lying down beside it. I ran up the customer and helped him up before asking him what happened. He told me that bandit attacked the bakery and that he tried to stop him, to no avail. Then he quickly told me that my mother was still inside. Hearing that, I charged into the bakery at my top speed. The cash register was on the ground broken and the coins inside were ransacked. The counters'' window was destroyed and the glass shards were on the ground. A cut caused by a sword ran through the counter. Another scream echoed through the house and I hurriedly picked up a glass shard and ran towards the direction of the scream. Turning a corner, I arrived in my room. I saw a 2 men, covered in black clothes, near my mother. My mother, as beautiful as she was, had a clothes ripped. I could hear the men laughing while saying they would take nice care of her. Hearing this angered me and I charged out at the men. Not quiet at all, the men turned around and kicked me away, causing my mother to scream. Slamming into the wall in the hall, I slumped down, dropping the shard. I tried getting up, but one of the men just picked me up and threw me beside my mother. I hit my bed and heard a few of my ribs break; this caused my mother to scream more and thrash around. Tears came down like a flood from her eyes as she sees me trying to struggle to get up, only to cough up some blood. She begged them to free me and heal me, to which they agreed on one condition. Only if my mother can service them good enough would they free me and treat my injuries. My eyes went red as one of the men used his sword to cut through my mothers undergarments as she agreed. Clenching my fists extremely hard, blood started to flow out. I screamed at my mother to stop and not to do it, but she only nodded her head to tell me to stop. I was cursing at myself in my mind for being incompetent and being negligent in my training. If I trained and got stronger, I could have prevented this from occurring. That''s when my motivation to train began, as I didn''t want this to happen again. She walked towards the men, and kneeled down to service them when a miracle happened. A high level adventurer from a high floor that was on vacation here noticed the commotion and decided to lend a hand. The man swiftly entered and knocked out the 2 men with 1 hit each. He then tied up the men and healed me. My mother broke out crying in relief while I stared at the man. He noticed me and asked me why I was staring at him. I hardened my resolve and asked him to train me. Without even looking at me or thinking for a second, he answered "nope". I yelled at him why, and he just said I''m just a runt and can''t endure his training. That pissed me off, and I told him I''ll show him. After that incident, I trained every day, like I do now, to gain strength so that I can protect my family and gain the recognition of the man. After a month, I challenged the man to a fight, I got defeated in 1 hit. Not convinced at my loss, I kept on challenging him. I always lost in 1 hit, but he always gave me chances to hit him. One time, he just stood there and let me strike at him, which caused him no damage. Another time, he let me attack him with a sword, which only gave him tiny cuts. After a month of planning, I found out a way to defeat him. I challenged him, and as usual he let me attack him. I aimed my attack at his stomach, but I quickly brought it down and hit him in his balls. It did no damage to him, but he howled in pain and rolled on the ground. I laughed and asked him if that was enough for him to train me. He got up and stared at me a with a death glare. Pissing myself, I fell on the ground and tried to crawl away. Disappearing, he appeared in front of me and picked me up. Calling me a brat and lecturing me, he spanked my ass a few times. I still get nightmares from that day as it was extremely painful. Once he finished, he still didn''t train me for the same reason, but he would hang out me and even told me stories about the higher floors. He told me that the higher floors are extremely dangerous with dragons and hydras, but he told me that if you stop and take a look at the surroundings, it will mesmerize you. He told me that even though it is dangerous up there, it is an extremely beautiful place and resting in the safe zones is like a paradise there. Another one of things he told me were the fact that the more you climb the dungeon, the more dreams you can achieve. The fame, the beauty, the money and the exciting life is what changed by dream. My dream went from being strong enough to protect my loved ones into being strong enough to protect my loved ones as well as clearing the dungeon to gain fame and have all the riches of the world. At least that way, I can live a peaceful life with my parents without having to worry about anything. I want my kids to grow up knowing that nothing can harm them. I also want to know what lies beyond the dungeon. The fun days with adventurer came to an end when he decided to head back to the highest floor. He told me that he will wait for me up there when I decide to climb the tower. This caused my desire to climb the dungeon to burn even more fiercely. My pleasant ream came to an end as I woke up. I yawned loudly which caused tears to form in my eyes. After doing some stretches to warm my body up, I walked into the forest to train. Leaping from tree to tree, I went to an unexplored land. I took out my map and jumped into another tree. Right as I jumped into the tree, I hit my head against something before falling down landing on my back. Getting up, I rubbed my back to ease out the pain, while looking up to where I hit something. Then I notice something I dread, a hornet hive. I have a deep phobia against anything like bees, wasps or hornets. I never had this phobia in the beginning. It all started one day when I was swimming in a lake, naked. When I came out of the water, I stepped on a bumblebee. Noticing this, one of its kin attacked me by stinging me in my balls. I screamed in pain and I a deep fear of bees, wasps and hornets spread out its roots in my brain. I even had a scar from that incident. I stared at the hive as it fell onto the ground and the hornets flying out of it. My legs started shaking and I think I even pissed myself a little. Tears appeared in my eyes and I used Identify on them before sprinting full speed out of there.
Hornet Soldier Level 2
The hornet workers did not have a level, but the Hornet Soldiers did. The normal Hornets were red, while the Hornet Soldiers were red with black streaks across it. Their eyes were red. I used Soul Sense, and found 49 Hornet soldiers. I also noticed an abnormally large Hornet with 4 huge wings, as it pop out of the hive. The Hornet was fully back with blue eyes. I used Identify and found out it was a Hornet Queen.

I sent all my mana into my feet, because even if I wasn''t absolutely terrified of them, I would still run away since I was no match for them. The Hornets chased after me in anger. My tears fell out my eyes and my bowels were also emptied. I was running with shaky legs and could only think of one thing RUN! I was panicking and couldn''t think of up a plan. My mana was running out and the hornets were gaining on me. Eventually I tripped on a rock and fell. The Hornets got near me were getting ready to kill me. Just as I was going to get killed, a huge wave of water hit them. The hornets didn''t die, but couldn''t fly because of the water on their wings. A hand grabbed mine and pulled me up. I saw Leon, and stared at him, my saviour. Just as I was going to thank him, he said " Don''t dally, run. The water will only temporarily stop them, and I can''t fight all of them." Both of us started sprinting. The Hornet Queen freed itself in 2 minutes, and the Hornet Soldiers took about 6 minutes after the Queen. They started chasing us, but both of us got far away in that time. The Hornets eventually gave up after they couldn''t find us. I was using my Soul Sense to monitor them. Enjoying this book? I look at Leon and say " Thank you," with sincerity coming from the bottom of my heart. He looked at me and said "No problem, but I need your help. I found the group from before, and it seems they grouped up with others. Since you said you will help me, now''s the chance." I look at him seriously, trying to ignore the disgraceful act of pissing myself. I look at him and say " I''ll help you, but there will be some conditions. First I won''t kill any of them and will only capture them. Second you can only kill them 10 minutes after I left. Finally I''ll wear a mask to hide my face." I said all this because I don''t want my identity to be found by the enemy. This way they can''t research my background and kill my family. They also won''t attack me on sight. The reason I don''t want to kill them and want Leon to only kill them 10 minutes after I leave is because there are some things called soul stones. These things bind to someone using their blood, showing if they are alive or not. It shows 10 minutes of memory of a person if they died; the memory is always the 10 minutes before their death. I also have one of these soul stones, which my parents keep at home. This will assure them that I''m alive. There are different types of soul stones, the one which shows 10 minutes of memory is the most expensive one, while the cheapest is ones that only show the life and death of the person. My parents got the cheapest one for me, and it still took them months of saving up to get it. There may be better soul stones on higher floors, but I don''t know. Leon puts his hand on his chin before pondering for a while. After a few minutes, he gives his hand out, to which I grab and do a handshake. The business with moving will be done by around 20th. Well this chapter doesn''t have Leon''s POV, next chapter will. I kind of forgot about it, since I wanted to develop Arjun''s character a little more. Leave comments below. Also, it seems like you guys are getting mixed up about the health regen. 0.6x faster means 0.6 times faster, which means the health regen is 1.6. The "x" stands for times. I''ll try to review over my old chapters to make them better. You can just basically add it together with 1. Remember to leave feedback, criticism, reviews and comments, it will make the story better. Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Mana flowed through the ground, shaping my mask. It was similar to the hockey mask Jason from Luke''s memories wore. Satisfied with my crude rock mask, I placed it on my face before turning to Leon and nodding my head, signaling that I''m ready. We set off, Leon in the lead, with me following closely behind. On the way, I created needles made out of stone. The needles were created to look similar to acupuncture needles. Stone Needle is the name for the skill. While I was thinking about Leon''s past, I thought up a new attack idea. I plan on linking my soul to the needles, before throwing them at the enemy. When they hit the enemy, my soul will continuously siphon their soul. Never tried out before, this idea was risky, but worth a shot. The reason I thought up this method to attack their soul from a distance instead of just using my Soul Sense is because the needles deal physical damage to the enemy as well as using less mana than Soul Sense. Even though it also has a long reach, it is much weaker than Soul Sense. Having multiple needles on a person increases the absorbing speed. Taking my head out of my cloud of thoughts, I focused my attention on Leon as we crisscrossed and sneaked through the forest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leon Ferrell''s POV I keep walking forward, ignoring the fool behind me. Thinking I believe his blatant lies, how naive of him. I narrow my eyes as I twiddle my thumbs. After killing the members of the NS, I will assassinate him, so that my secrets won''t spread. Alerting the NS will be disastrous and keeping a potential threat like him around is not optimal. My thoughts wander back to the time when I first met him. ....................... At first, I was indeed running away from the Griffons, but it wasn''t my fault, they were level 14''s. When I first arrived in this floor, I started inspecting my general surroundings, but I accidently strode into the griffons territory. Alerting them, I immediately ran away, but to my dismay, they followed me. I ran for about 10 minutes before I noticed a wood hut in the distance. It was half complete with holes everywhere, but it was sufficient to hide in. Nearby to the house was the corpse, which I identified to be a Level 2 Minor Enhanced Lion. It was the weakest lion species in the dungeon (above Level 0). When they finish maturing, they reach level 6. but it seems this Lion was still a cub. They genes and cells of the lion were enhanced by mana, which resulted in the lions growing stronger and bigger. The cub seemed to be on the verge of maturing. Turning my head to face the hut, I quickly dash towards it. When I reach the hut I slide into it, hiding in it. The griffons come crashing through the bushes, searching for me. One of the griffons eyes land on lion cubs body and light up in excitement. It started roaring, informing the other griffons of the corpse. They went up to the corpse and start devouring it. While I was staring at the griffons, I felt a movement in the air. I turned around to see a person. I use Inspect on him.

When he woke up, he noticed me and almost screamed, but I hushed him. The griffons left after 10 minutes and both me and Arjun started talking. After I finished talking to him, I separated from him and started to build my house quite a distance away from his. Building it out of thatch for convenience, I finished the house after 3 hours. I then started to explore my surroundings while mapping it down on a paper I brought. Finishing off the map, I started marking routes and pathways which I can use to escape dangerous situations on the map. Since I had no food, I went towards Arjun''s direction to ask him for some. I did this for other reasons as well, such as: leaving a good impression on him so that he doesn''t suspect me, gathering information and also so that I can observe him. Luckily my plead worked out and I got some food from him. Once I finished my food, I returned home and feel asleep. Waking up in the morning, I set off in search of NS members. I know for a fact there are NS members in the first floor as I saw some entering my town. They all have a tattoo on their body which is basically Ouroboros circling around the letters N and S. Although it is possible for people to copy their tattoo, I obtained a badge from one of the dead members of the NS that my father killed in the war. All NS members have the badge, and it can see if there are other members nearby and can verify if the tattoos are real. The tattoos have a special power imbedded into them allowing for the search of members and verification of tattoos. I used this badge to check if they are members by sending mana into the badge, and it turns out they were. It took me a while to located the NS members. I didn''t forget to monitor Arjun by having meals with him. A reward for "monitoring" Arjun is that I can enjoy his amazing food. Gathering up my power and weapons, I launch a sneak attack on the NS members the next day, not knowing of the presence of Arjun. My sneak attack was going well as I had the upper hand over the NS. They were guarding and were losing more ground each exchange. I take out my weapon, it is an extremely strong sword. Charging them, I attack with my sword. Although it might be really strong, It uses a lot of my mana to use it as I''m too low level. Exhausting a lot of mana using my sword, my sneak attack fails because of Arjun, who interferes at the last moment. We both fight but I lose because of my mana exhaustion. I wake up to find Arjun threatening me to spill my secrets. Even though I don''t want to tell him, I reluctantly do, because I could never complete my revenge if I die. Noticing the gleam in Arjun''s eye, I can tell he doesn''t fully believe me. He then proceeds to propose to help me in my revenge. Even though I answered yes, he''s stupid if he thinks I believe him. I plan on using this fool to help me get rid of the NS before killing him so that he can''t spread my secret around. Searching around for the NS took less effort this time as they are nearby, but they hid better because they had their guards up. After a few hours, I located them. Although they are on guard, they can''t escape to far from the previous area. Getting my items, I search for Arjun, only to find this idiot peeing his pants in front of some Hornets. I save him and he thanks me sincerely. Proceeding along my plan, I ask him to help me to which he gives me some conditions. After pondering on the topic, I agree to his terms before telling him to change. Now here I am, leading the fool towards the enemy. I curse at him under my breath as I know the NS headquarters was notified by their members about the previous attack and that the group from before will also be on more guard.
