《Reincarnation Luna (On Hiatus)》 Chapter 1: The Beginning ¡°Traitor!¡± ¡°Kill her!¡± ¡°Die you black blood!¡± Ahh¡ having those words being the last I remember is quite painful. People were hurling insults at me faster than I could hear, and then suddenly¡ I died. That¡¯s right, you heard correct, I died. Perhaps it was my fault for associating with the Blood Elves, but I couldn¡¯t help it! The information they gave me was priceless treasure to a Nymph. Nymphs were well known for their love for pursuing knowledge, and I in particular loved the knowledge of different Elven techniques. In a world full of humans you would also see a mixture of elves, nymphs, and demons. Elven kind comes in two species, the Holy Elves and Blood Elves. Blood Elves were quite rare and often discriminated against, mainly due to the rumor of being related to the demon race. All of the treatment towards Blood Elves was well and fine until the war came. The 7 great nations went to war. The largest and most powerful kingdom, Lumera, made pacts with the demon race and started attacking all the other nations. One thing led to another which soon caused the decimation against Blood Elves. Due to their decimation anyone who associated with the Blood Elves were called ¡®Black Bloods¡¯, or sinners for short. I, Emma Strundmend, died due to my love for Black Blood battle techniques. ¡°Ahem¡± ?! I look around towards the sound to see a beautiful lady with blond hair flowing down to her feet and magnificent white wings coming out of her back. [Me] ¡°Oh, yes¡ hello¡± She must be here to take me to heaven¡ or hell. [Angel] ¡°Umm¡ there has been a slight dilemma about your placement.¡± [Me] ¡°What do you mean?¡± [Angel] ¡°Well, you see¡ you have done no good in your life¡¡± Great so I¡¯m going to hell. ¡°¡However you also have done no bad.¡± So I¡¯m not going to hell? [Me] ¡°Where¡¯s the problem?¡± [Angel] ¡°Never in history has this ever happened... so we are currently at a lost as to where to place you. So after a couple times of being handed to higher ups and them handing you to the highest up it¡¯s been decided that you will simply be tested all over again!¡± What? Tested again? Is she thinking what I think she¡¯s thinking about? She better not be¡ [Angel] ¡°Well I hope you enjoy your second chance at life, and¡ umm¡ do your best!¡± At that moment a list of many profanities came out of my mouth, and since I was a scholar the list was unlimited. Soon enough a large blinding light engulfed me and my vision went black. ¡¡¡. Lancel Village I wake up in a random woman¡¯s arms, crying. [Random Woman] ¡°Now Now Luna, stop crying, everything will be alright.¡± Luna? Who¡¯s Luna? Wait¡ is she talking to me?!?! I¡¯m Luna!? Furthermore how is she holding me? I am quite large for my Nymph species! ¡Wait a minute¡ I hold out my hand and look. Sure enough my hand looks like a newborn''s¡ no that¡¯s not right¡ it IS a newborns! So when that angel was talking about giving me another chance she was talking about rebirth! So that means that this random lady really is my mother! [Me] ¡°Hehehehehe. HAHAHAAHAHA!!!¡± of course this would happen to me! Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. [Mother] ¡°Aww¡ look, she¡¯s happy.¡± [Random guy] ¡°Umm¡ I don¡¯t know¡ that almost sounds like a mad-man¡¯s laugh¡¡± Beads of sweat appear on the guy¡¯s forehead. [Mother] ¡°Non-sense Paul! How could you speak like that of your own daughter?¡± Oh¡ so this guy is my dad¡ alright. [Father] ¡°Joking, I¡¯m joking sweetie¡± They then locked lips over me¡ and it was then that I noticed. Their ears¡ they are pointy, and their eyes were a blood red. I wasn¡¯t just re-born, no¡ I was re-born as a Blood Elf. Despite my disappointment I felt a sliver of excitement as now I would be able to explore more about my favorite species! ¡¡¡. Lancel Village (About two years later) It¡¯s almost my second birthday, and I have gotten pretty good at pretending to be my physical age. That is¡ when someone¡¯s looking. Whenever I have time I work out non-stop and practice some martial arts. My name is Luna Lancel, and no matter how much I think my last name sounds too manly I have to keep it. It took me awhile but it turns out the reason I have ¡®Lancel¡¯ as my last name is because the villages chief is none other than my father! The village my father governs is so small that only the residents knows it¡¯s even there! Normally that would be a bad thing due to merchants and stockholders, but considering that the vast majority of the residents are Blood Elves, the sworn enemy of all man and elven-kind, then it¡¯s a good thing no one knows we are here. [Mother] Luna! Come on, it¡¯s time to eat! I rush over to the food and hurry to my seat. Taking a bite, I lose myself in her cooking. [Me] ¡°Mmmmm¡¡± [Father] ¡°Luna, do you want to see Daddy show off his moves after dinner?¡± [Me] ¡°Yes! Yes!¡± I love to watch my new-found dad perform with his mana. Since I used to watch the King of Blood Elves perform top-secret magic in my past life it¡¯s not as cool¡ but¡ I still love the look of mana. Watching the King perform was amazing, and it only came at the price of telling the Blood Elves how to make certain mana tools. Nymphs were well known for their knowledge, so it couldn¡¯t be helped that they bribed me with knowledge for knowledge. [Mother] ¡°Paul! Don¡¯t get her too excited or else she will rush through her food!¡± Both my father and I look down embarrassed. I slow down my eating and look at my mother with pleading eyes. [Mother] ¡°Fine! Fine. Only after eating slowly you may watch your father.¡± Victory!!! Right Outside Lancel Village -------------------Platoon Leader¡¯s POV----------------------- [Knight #1] ¡°hmm¡ is this the place that houses the demons?¡¯ [Knight #2] ¡°It looks like it¡ can we do it it Captain Smithles?¡± The knights look at me with expectation and hatred. Hatred that shown in their eyes for the demons, hatred that was all reserved for the Blood Elves. Chapter 2: Run! Lancel Village [Villager] ¡°SOLDIERS! THE SOLDIERS ARE COMING!!!¡± Suddenly, in my peace filled morning, an alarm bell rang. The noise was extremely high-pitched, and was reserved solely for if the kingdom¡¯s soldiers were to learn of the existence of this village. From the head of the table I heard father mutter some profanities before giving commands to everyone in the village. [Father] ¡°Hurry and hide the women, children, and elderly! Gather every man that is able bear arms! Hurry before the soldiers arrive!¡± Suddenly I was picked up by mother and carried to a hidden cellar located near my bed. I was placed in, and mother went back and began helping others. This is how our system worked in the village: the woman and children would hide in the village chief¡¯s house, while the sick and elderly would hide in the lieutenant¡¯s house. Realizing that the 10 x 10 meter room was getting crowded, I huddled in a corner with my friend. My friend¡¯s name was Selena, and she turned two last month. She had short, soft blond hair, and despite the fact that she was two while my mentality was that of a much older person we were still inseparable as friends. After about an hour we started to hear a large booming sound. Thud! Thud! Thud! Creak! Boom! Smash! A large variety of sounds were heard through the floorboards, until suddenly a large and helpless scream rang out. The voice did not belong to any of us in the cellar, nor did it sound like any of the men that were fighting¡ so whose was it? One scream led to two and two lead to three, and they just keep coming with no end. I then felt Selena¡¯s body trembling to the sounds of those hoarse screams, and even I found myself covering my ears and curling. Everyone in the cellar from woman to children were all wondering the same thing, ¡®whose screams are those?¡¯ [Soldier] ¡°Tsk¡ not even those old devils would tell us the location of the demonic offspring¡± The temperature of the room quickly became 20 degrees cooler. He said ¡®old devils¡¯¡ there¡¯s no way¡ it¡¯s not possible¡ Huh? I feel wetness on my cheeks, though I don¡¯t remember how they got there. I go to face towards my mother when I notice she is shocked as well. She too had wet drops running down her face. Then my ears began to ring, softly at first but became louder as time passed. It was only then that I noticed how deathly silent the room had become. Then, almost as if in sync with my thoughts a noise could be faintly heard. Creak¡creak¡ The sound of wood scraping against wood was thundering at us from above. All the children looked up with expectant faces¡ they finally came back! The men must have succeeded! There was no way our best men would have failed! Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! However¡ that¡¯s where we were wrong. [Soldier] ¡°Found you~¡± If one were to look around at this precise moment they could see the faces of the children change from expecting to a sense of forbidding in only a split second. [Child] ¡°Momma¡ where¡¯s Papa? Mamma¡ who¡¯s that scary man? Momma? Momma?!¡± The woman had frozen from shock, and tears could be seen flowing endlessly from her crimson eyes. It was then that everyone¡¯s mind seemed to catch up¡ ¡®The men have failed¡¯. CRASH! BASH! Men wearing silver armor and holding silver swords broke down the wall separating us from them. Then began the slaughter. My mind could not keep up with everything, and just as a soldier was fixing to behead me, my mother swiftly picked up a few surviving children and fled the execution. [Soldier] ¡°Get her!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t let her get away!¡± Voices could be heard as we made our escape. Mother then put the three of us down as she patted our heads with a sad smile. [Mother] ¡°Run! I will stay behind and hold them back! No matter what you see or hear do not look back, just run!¡± Her face showed a multitude of things; desperation, anxiety, determination, heartbreak, and everything else. While wiping my tear stained face I began to run, run faster than ever before. The others and I kept at it for a while. Finally, when we could run no more, we collapsed at the trunk of a large oak tree. It was then that I noticed who the other children were. To my left lay my flushed red friend Selena, who was comprised of our village¡¯s small minority, humans. To my right lay a boy that just turned three a few days ago. If I remember correctly his name was Brian, and he was like me, a Blood Elf. We all just lay there for a bit in order to catch our breath until Brian¡¯s stomach erupts with hunger. He then seems to spot an apple growing off an apple tree a few steps away. He goes towards it when I spot a silver flash off to our right. [Me] ¡°NO!!! D---¡° I don¡¯t even get time to finish my warning before the arrow suddenly flies and impales itself into his stomach. Brian doubles over and coughs up blood before collapsing. Terror fills both Selena and I, and we begin running despite our fatigue. We both knew in our hearts that there was no way to escape the danger we were now in. We both knew, yet for some reason, some unstoppable force kept propelling us forward. Perhaps it was our desire to live that pushed us on, or maybe it was just instinct. ¡°ROAR!!!!¡± I pull Selena to a complete stop as we both look at the terrifying beast before us. We were two 2 year olds who just came up face to face with a tier 5 demonic bear; there were no words to describe how inferior we felt. It would probably be best described as two ants coming upon a human. Now we were faced with a difficult decision: face the demonic beast ahead, or face the hatred bearing soldiers behind. No matter how hard I thought I could only come up with one conclusion¡ there was no way out. Chapter 3: A New Start Somewhere in the Northern Woodlands ¡°ROAR!!!!¡± As the demonic bear¡¯s paw swept towards us we quickly ducked, narrowly avoiding an almost certain fatal blow. I offered a quick prayer to the heavens offering thanks that despite the brute strength of this creature, it was slow. Recovering quickly I pulled up Selena and continued to run. [Solder] ¡°Boss! There¡¯s a problem!!!¡± [Captain Smithles] ¡°Tsk. For a tier 5 demonic bear to appear now of all times! Everyone take formation 2 and take it out! Hurry before the demonic children escape!¡± The branches sticking out from all sides scratch me and tear at my clothes, but I must continue on or else both of us will die. The pain and fatigue continued on for minutes, and those minutes slowly trickled into hours until finally we arrive at a small town. Despite it being a small town it was still probably ten times larger than our village. I instantly start heading towards the closest house with Selena in tow. I pull up my hood to cover my distinct features that act as a dead giveaway that I am a Blood Elf. Then I walk over to the door and knock a couple times. [Old man] ¡°Yes? Who is it?¡± He seemed to be quite annoyed until he looked down and noticed two children covered in scrapes and bruises. [Old man] ¡°Holy¡ are you two okay?!?¡± [Me] ¡°Please sir, take care of her.¡± Saying that phrase, I hand over Selena to the old man and run off. I hear him yelling at me from a distance to come back, as I am injured as well, but I could not put Selena¡¯s life in danger. If it was found out that I was a Blood Elf we would both be killed, no questions asked no matter our age. I have to trust that the old man is kind enough that he¡¯ll take care of a random human child. My two-year-old body is quite clumsy, and I gain more scrapes and my clothes begin to turn a deep red, dyed by my own blood. After a few more hours of this I fall down, and my eyes grow heavy. Before my eyes completely lose focus I notice a small white flower that contains seven petals. I don¡¯t completely recognize it as my mind is losing focus, so instead I get as close as I can to it and my vision grows dark. ¡°Ugh¡¡± I open my eyes and notice that I, in fact, did not die. I am more surprised that no demonic beasts attacked me while I was passed out. That¡¯s when I notice a white gleam in the corner of my eye. Of course! It was the Morning Flower that kept the beasts away! The Morning Flower was quite rare, and it possessed the ability to keep all demonic beasts tier 15 and below away. My luck to have quite literally stumble upon this flower must have been high. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Despite my amazing luck I knew it was still relatively easy to die in the Northern Woods. The strong prey on the weak here, and to survive I must get stronger¡ much stronger than I am now. There¡¯s only one way to become strong enough to take on the army¡ and that was to open my mana streams. Normally if one wishes to tread down the dangerous path of becoming a mana user then they would have their pores opened at the earliest age of five. However, I have knowledge beyond the understanding of even top notch scholars, so I know of a way to open one¡¯s mana pores even earlier than age five safely. Once a person¡¯s mana pores are open they struggle to achieve higher and higher tiers. There are a total of six different stages, and the first five stages each have five different tiers. The sixth stage only has one tier, and if you reach that stage then you achieve immortality. Only one person has ever reached this stage, and it is rumored that he killed himself after his sect was destroyed while he was in closed door meditation. I look around and find a suitable place to open my mana pores. I also make sure I remember to bring the Morning Flower with me. [Me] ¡°Okay, this should do it.¡± I sit down in a small clearing, and plant the Morning Flower a little ways in front of me. I close my eye and connect my mind to the earth, the air, and every noise that the forest produces. I start focusing even deeper at every detail, and a slight hum could be both heard and felt. That¡¯s it! I start pulling out that hum, and drag it towards me. I feel my body beginning to reject the energy; however I force the energy into my pores, completely ignoring the pain that accompanies the energy. My body suddenly felt like a fire was raging through it, and instantly what¡¯s left of my clothes become soaked in sweat. Disregarding the pain and sweat, I focus more on the energy, and start to cultivate it into my very soul. Blood Elves were well known for their faster cultivation process, however it still took about half an hour before my mana pores were completely open. With my shaky legs, I stand up and head to the river flowing only a few steps away. I wash myself off, and grimace when I see exactly what had befallen my clothing. I decide it must make-do for now, and start to make a house. I shall stay here in order to get stronger. Only when I become a second-stage cultivator will I leave and look for a sect. Standing up, I stretch and begin my work. Chapter 4: Fire Lizard Northern Woodlands: Three Years Later All is silent in a certain clearing located in the Northern Woodlands until... suddenly a bright light accompanies a five year old girl. [Me] ¡°Finally!!! It took me, what, three years to get to this tier!¡± Ever since that day I ran from the soldiers I began to cultivate and refine my mana. I am now at tier 5, the peak of the Mana Awareness stage. Now all I need to do is break my bottleneck to get to the next stage. At the end of each stage there is a huge bottleneck that becomes harder and harder to break the more tiers you complete. Irritation filled me as I try to break my bottleneck again. I know normally completing five tiers in three years would be considered genius among geniuses; however I know I could do better. Hmm¡ it seems like it¡¯s time to actually practice putting my mana into use. I begin walking out of my Morning Flower¡¯s protection and start looking for demonic beasts. The first creature I come across is a demonic fire lizard. Its length is twice my height, and it has scales covering its entire body. As its name suggests, it loves to char its prey with its fire breath. [Me] ¡°So you¡¯re my first stepping stone? Sorry, but you¡¯re going to die now.¡± [Lizard] ¡°GRR, RAWR, Grrr Grr¡. RAWR!!!!¡± [Me] ¡°RAWR to you too!!!¡± No, I was not actually speaking to the fire lizard, however I haven¡¯t spoken to anyone for the past three years¡ it is normal to want to communicate with other living things. I start running and call forth my mana. I instantly make several slices made out of wind. They fly towards the demonic fire lizard and hit. ¡°RAWRRRRRRRRRRR!¡± Hmm? Even though it hit him it seems like the lizard¡¯s scales are tough enough to block the majority of damage that should have been done. This is slightly annoying. I cannot use fire against this opponent, as it is a fire type demonic beast, and it seems like my favored element wind will be weak against its scales. That only leaves two elements¡ ¡°Earth Spikes!¡± I shout out the name of the move due to the fact that I still haven¡¯t gotten used to the element earth. The more time one spends with an element the more control they have over it¡ and I have been focusing more on my fire and wind elements rather than earth and water. Three spikes that were made of the very ground that we are standing on suddenly fly towards the fire lizard. One manages to hit its eye, however the fire lizard blocks the other two with its tail. Then I see a sudden burst of flame shoot at me at deafening speeds. I don¡¯t have time to duck, so instead I bring forth as much water as I can and form a shield. I am pushed back a couple meters and hit a tree, gaining a few scratches on my back. I seem to have managed to avoid most of the flames, with only a few burn marks on my body. [Me] ¡°Die you pathetic lizard!!!¡± I pull up some earth to form a sword, and cover it with wind. Giving a large battle cry, I sliced at the fire lizard. A huge cut appeared across the lizard¡¯s side and it tumbled. Stolen story; please report. ¡°RAWR!¡± Instantly flames surrounded me, however they were no match for my wind. When the wind dispersed of the flames, the lizard had disappeared. I looked around and could not find where it had gone. I was in a perilous situation because fire lizards were not known to retreat, but rather surprise attack their opponent. ¡°Agh!¡± My back was suddenly hit with a 350 degree fire. I could feel my back blistering and the blood start to flow. UGH! I am way to inexperienced, I need to learn and adapt! I put out the flames with ice-cold water, and shoot ice spikes at the demonic beast. Whether it was pure luck or desperation, something caused one of the ice spikes to hit its brain. With the fire lizard dead, all the adrenaline left my body and my legs gave out. I sat there gathering my breath and notice a huge amount of burnt trees to my left. That must have come from when the fire lizard gave out its surprise attack. Due to one of its eyes gone, it must have been off. I shiver when I realize that the damage it gave could have been more. I walk over to the dead demonic beast and hop onto its back. I create an earth sword with the little bit of mana I have left and start digging into it. I finally find the demon core that¡¯s located in all demons and take it out. You can use demon cores for speeding up training or even creating magic tools. Something gold and glittering caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I put my hand back into the demonic beast¡¯s corps and pull out a necklace. The necklace had a key attached to a silver chain. The key was extravagant, and had many designs covering it that almost looked like old runes. I had no idea how a necklace got into the demonic beast in the first place, however I thought it looked mysterious. Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, I still had my scholar tendencies, so I could not just throw out this treasure. I decided that it could not cause any harm (probably) so I put it on. I pick up the demon core and start limping towards my makeshift home in the clearing. Upon arriving I wrap up my back in healing leaves and lay down and rest. When I awaken I will absorb it, however I am too worn out to do so now. Slowly but surely the leaves kick in and I fall asleep. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you everyone for reading this, and also for pointing out some errors. It''s been a great help. ^-^ Thanks a bunch -The author (-A highschool girl who has too much time on her hands and reads way to too much manga) [Sincerely- the Editor] Chapter 5: Elder Choro Northern Woodlands ¡°Ahhh! That¡ was¡ AMAZING!¡± I rub my stomach in satisfaction. I knew that absorbing the demon core would be helpful, but I never knew that it would feel so amazing! Although it hurt a little, even more so when I broke through the next tier / stage, I still enjoyed it. I am now stage 2, tier 1 or to put simply, tier 6. I have finally reached my short-term goal of reaching stage 2, however I am limited by my age. Even the best sects only accept disciples at the youngest of age 10. Being a stage 2 already, I do have amazing potential, but I am missing experience. This was proven with my fight against the demonic fire lizard. Being a scholar in my past life I am aware of many different fighting techniques available for the many different tiers. That in itself does not equal experience that comes from actual battles. I stand up and leave my make-shift home that has been with me and has evolved over the last three years. It does look quite shabby as the leaves that make up the roof need changed *again* and the multitude of sticks and stones that make up the walls are starting to show their age. Ugh¡ I guess I¡¯ll change it when I get back. For now the most important thing is experience, and I just so happen to know of a small pack of demonic wolves that live nearby. There are very few of them and they are all low level so I should have nothing to worry about. The wind plays with my hair as I am looking down from a tree. Currently I am stalking a pack of demonic wolves from an upwind position. An evil glint appears in my eye as I notice that all the members of the pack have 4th tier and lower. Even if they have more members I shall surely defeat them! As soon as a demonic wolf approaches my tree I jump down and brutally hit it in the back with my mana. Instantly a wind blade cuts the wolf in half before it even has time to react. Unlike the fire lizard, demonic wolves are known for their agility not their defense. With agility and speed as my strong point, I can easily take down the majority of the pack before they even have much time to defend themselves. ¡°Hya!¡± I knock down all the demonic wolves in the surrounding area of my tree. Hmm? This will be amazing. My eyes gleam as I take down the forth demonic wolf which yelped to alert the others of my presence. Tsk. Pesky demon wolf, alerting the others even as you draw your last breath. A large scratch appears on my side and I notice a few others approach. I don¡¯t remember seeing them¡ but¡ all the more demon cores to absorb later! I pull out the best of the techniques that I am able to use at this tier of mana, and if one were to look from a faraway distance they would see quite an unbelievable sight. Imagine; a single five-year-old creating flame serpents and shooting off a large variety of wind blades. ¡°Huff, huff, there are way more wolfs in this area then I remember. Huff, huff, I wonder where they came from. Huff, Huff¡¡± Before I notice I am surrounded by a large amount of dead demonic wolves, yet the amount of those alive seem to have doubled¡ no, they tripled! I also seem to have acquired a bit of cuts that are leaking blood at an alarming rate. I silently curse under my breath and start to retreat when suddenly I see a larger demonic wolf that far surpassed the others in both mana and strength. How?! I¡¯m sure that this pack¡¯s leader was nowhere near this place, in fact I would have staked my life on it¡ in fact I did stake my life on it¡ so how?! No matter how you look at this creature it is the pack¡¯s leader, and I could sense the amount of bloodlust coming from the demonic wolf. The bloodlust alone was enough for me to stumble and lose my footing. Now I was sure of it¡ this wolf is just like the bear I saw three years ago¡ a tier five demonic beast! I find myself trembling and subconsciously take a step back when the demonic wolf approaches. Before I could even register that the wolf had attacked I had already spat up blood as I hit a tree at earth-shattering speed. My semi-old wounds from the attack on the fire lizard opened up with the addition of the new ones from hitting this tree. This was the second time I had been slammed up against a tree by a demonic beast, and yet, there was nothing I could do about it. [Random Voice] ¡°Oh? So this is where you pesky little brats ran off to¡¡± The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. What?! When has there EVER been another human that has traveled to this particular area?! Wait¡ his words¡ was HE the cause to the increase of the amount of demonic wolfs as well as the appearance of the leader??? A guy walked out of the shadows and moved his hand only slightly. That little hand movement cause the extermination of the entire pack. Only by looking closely could one see several small spikes that went through all of the demon wolf¡¯s head. This guy looked to be about the age of 65, and seemed to be looking at the wolves I had killed with a slightly confused look on his face. I finally couldn¡¯t keep it in anymore and coughed up some more blood. This action in itself caused the elder to look upon me with clear interest in his eyes. [Elder] ¡°Hmm? You¡ were you the one who killed these demonic wolves?¡± [Me] ¡°Yes e-elder¡ I¡¯m s-sorry if I got in your w-way¡± [Elder] ¡°Oh? You seem to be quite talented for someone of your age¡ how old are you?¡± [Me] ¡°Elder, I am eight years old as of this year¡± Of course I was lying, how could I tell this elder that a mere five year old took down that many? [Elder] ¡°¡ call me Elder Choro¡ as of now you are a Silver Sword disciple.¡± WHAT?! Wait a minute¡ during the five years I have been disconnected from the mana cultivator world did the standards suddenly start allowing younger disciples?! And one more thing¡ where is my say in this? He didn¡¯t even ask me for my consent! Upon seeing my frenzied appearance he just laughed and swiped his hand. I was instantly plucked up from the ground and fell unconscious. ---------------Elder Choro¡¯s POV--------------------- Sever moments earlier¡ [Elder Choro] ¡°Finally! I found the magic ingredient I came to this secluded place to get!¡± I look down in my hand and smile, as I came all this way to get this specific plant that only grows in the Northern Forest for some reason. ¡°Grr¡¡± I look around to see which idiotic demonic creature dare challenge me, and stage 4 cultivator. When I look I notice a large demonic wolf whose mana is quite inferior to mine. Then, in the blink of an eye my precious herb disappeared and the wolf appeared on the other side of me. WHAT?! I forgot about these beasts speed, ugh¡ I watch as the demonic beast swallows my herb. Death. All these beasts deserve death for daring to eat MY herb. I race around killing all wolves in sight and notice quite a few have disappeared. Hahaha¡ even if you go fetch the entire pack you are all going to die today!!! A crazy glint appeared in my eyes as I slaughter one wolf after another. [Me] ¡°Oh? So this is where you pesky little brats ran off to¡¡± I finally find the rest of the pack and move my hand to shoot out many different earth spikes at all of the surrounding wolves. All of the pack collapses under my wonderful might and I look over my beautiful work. That¡¯s when I notice¡ a large section of wolves were not killed by me. I see some of these wolves are burnt to a crisp while others are cut in two by something sharper than anything a mortal could do. I then hear a raspy cough and I turn around. Huddled near a tree is a young disheveled girl. She had long tangled-up hair, and barley and clothes which seem to be made out of animal hide. Her hair was a dirty blond, and her eyes were so dull that I could not see whether it was a dark brown or a dulled red. She seemed to be skinny and her cultivation base was already at stage two. I ask her if she was the one who had killed the demonic wolves and she says she was. When I found out her age was eight I realized what an amazing existence I found and decided to instantly make her an outer disciple of the Silver Sword Sect. I pick her up with my mana and she seems to slip into unconsciousness. Oh well, I found something after this trip¡ so I guess I can''t consider it all a waste. However¡ next time I see a wolf it will be dead. Chapter 6: Silver Sword Sect Silver Sword Sect Opening my eyes I see that I¡¯m currently located in a small room that has two beds. The beds give off a musky smell, which worries me as I am currently sitting up in one. [Random Girl] ¡°Oh! You¡¯re up! That¡¯s great¡ now I can tell you the responsibilities of outer sect disciples.¡± ¡Outer sect? Don¡¯t tell me that a certain elder actually took me here against my will. Wait a minute¡ why isn¡¯t she afraid? I am a Blood Elf, a hated creature of all¡ yet now that I think about it no one seems to treat me like one. [Random Girl] ¡°Uhh.. are you okay? Do you ne¡¡± [Me] ¡°Hand me a mirror¡please¡± [Random Girl] ¡°Ah! S-sure thing! Here you go!¡± She hands me something that looks like a small board with a round piece of glass in the center. A very crude hand mirror, but I guess they can¡¯t afford to spend too much on the outer sect disciples. I look at my reflection and almost faint¡ again. My hair seems to have lightened to a dirty blond and seems to be tangled up in one gigantic ball. Not only that, but my entire face¡ no my entire body seems to be dirty and covers my pale elven complexion. My eyes seem to have become a red-brown due to the mana of the forest. I knew the forest was known for its mana turning one¡¯s eyes a slightly more brownish color, but never had I expected this. No one would even be able to tell I was a Blood Elf with these features! Blood Elves all have bright red eyes and are well known for their black hair. Occasionally a Blood Elf will be born with a slightly different color hair, but never like this! I honestly looked like a poor Holy Elf. [Random Girl] ¡°Umm¡ I¡¯m outer disciple Maria, your roommate. I-it¡¯s been a pleasure to meet you.¡± [Me] ¡°Oh¡ uh¡ I¡¯m Luna. The pleasure is all mine.¡± My new roommate Maria seems to be very shy and it currently looking at me worriedly. She has short brown hair and a fair, skinny body. She seems to be human, however has no qualms about elves. The dirty state of my body seems to have her concerned if I was okay. I smile as if to say I were okay and hand her back her mirror. Since I¡¯m no longer in the Northern Woods I should probably take a bath. [Me] ¡°Maria, where¡¯s the bath?¡± The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.[Maria] ¡°Ah! Umm¡ it¡¯s right over here.¡± She leads me to a small bathing area which seems to be empty. It has a rock wall covering three of its sides, and the last side is covered by a wall made out of wood. [Me] ¡°Is there a reason why the bath is empty?¡± [Maria] ¡°Yes¡ there are three rooms assigned per bath so that we can easily become clean without worry.¡± [Me] ¡°Thank you.¡± She hands me some outer sect clothing and leaves me in the bath. The water made the injuries on my body tingle, and when I looked I saw that the water had healing properties. I wonder how they managed to do that¡ hmm¡ I will have to ask Maria sometime. As I walk around the bath my long hair was dragging in the water. When standing my hair reached the top of my legs, and my skin began to show its elven properties. It will be awhile before my eyes become their bright red, so I will have to find a way to hide it by then. After I finish bathing I try on some of my new clothes. My robe is a bronze color, which somehow manages to bring out my now pure blond hair; apparently the dirty blond was due to all the dirt. I shiver when I realize just how dirty I had been the last three years. When I walk back into my room Maria does a double-take on my looks. [Maria] ¡°Wow. You look amazing¡ not that you didn¡¯t look good before¡ I mean you look better now¡ if you know what I mean¡¡± [Me] ¡°Hahaha¡ No, it¡¯s fine! Thanks a bunch Maria!¡± I smile at her, and she looks down embarrassed. In the midst of our conversation I hear a large bell that has a deep yet loud sound I look over at Maria questionably and she motions for me to follow. After walking on some beaten down paths we arrive at what must be our destination. There are many disciples covering the area that were all wearing the same robe I was. All of them seemed to be heading into a large arena, and once inside everyone took their seats. Sitting down next to Maria I look down into the arena. Arriving at the left side was a 14 year old looking boy who had black hair and green eyes. At the right side of the arena was another boy who looked to be 17 and had brown hair and eyes. Both of the boys were wearing silver robes and seemed to be in the 3rd stage. ¡°And¡ BEGIN!¡± Chapter 7: Red Horns... Silver Sword Sect (Arena) ¡°And¡ BEGIN!¡± Crowds roared at the announcement, and even Maria looked on with excited eyes. The two disciples on stage began to approach each other cautiously until the boy with the brown hair made his move. Mana instantly left his body and formed several fire figures which resembled demonic beasts. The beasts roared and rushed towards the other figure. Right before the first figure arrived the younger boy formed a shield and made several dragons made up of water. The beasts engaged each other, until the water dragons won out. Steam filled the stage, and the older boy used his mana to strengthen his body as he rushed towards his opponent. Each boy had more power than any of the outer disciples, and they seemed to be in awe of the boy¡¯s fighting power. The fight lasted a total of about half an hour, and the victor ended up being the 14 year old. [Maria] ¡°Every once in awhile some inner sect disciples fight, so the bell rings to tell us when! It¡¯s a rare chance to see such powerful moves!¡± Powerful huh? I have seen moves that make those seem like child¡¯s play¡ however that was in my past life. Now I have the chance to be powerful myself¡ so I must work hard¡ harder than the rest. [Maria] ¡°By the way¡ how old are you? You seem to be pretty young.¡± [Me] ¡°¡ eight.¡± [Maria] ¡°*Sigh* so Elder Choro has done it again.¡± [Me] ¡°What? Again?¡± [Maria] ¡°Yeah¡ Elder Choro is known for taking people slightly younger than ten at times¡¡± [Me] ¡°So that¡¯s not normal¡¡± As I thought, usually you have to be ten. This elder is just prone for breaking rules. How does he get away with it? I head out of the arena ahead of Maria and decide to do some training. There is a forest around here, so I think it would be a wise decision to practice my skills on the demonic beasts there. I shall go at night that way I can avoid all the other disciples. As I¡¯m walking back to my room / house I notice quite a few fellow disciples looking in my direction. I wonder why? My robe is the same as theirs, and I¡¯m not doing anything in particular to stand out. Looking around I see no other people near me that could be the center of everyone¡¯s attention, so I speed up and quickly enter my house. I take a glance in Maria¡¯s hand mirror and see that nothing is wrong with my appearance. I sincerely hope I didn¡¯t offend anyone or do anything wrong¡ --------------Outer Disciple Meng¡¯s POV-------------- I am standing with a few of my friends beside an outer-sect shop when I hear whispering. [Friend] ¡°Wha¡ Look at her man!¡± Turning to where my friend was pointing I see a beauty. She is an elf with blond hair and brown eyes. Her figure was skinny, and she seems to be quite a beauty. I find myself drawn to her even though she does seem a bit young. I know for certain that she must be new because if she wasn¡¯t everyone would know her by now. Considering her approximate age and time she showed up, the infamous Elder Choro must have done it again. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Every man¡¯s eyes were viewing her as a wolf watches a sheep, and even the women were looking at her admirably. Just who is she?! --------------Luna¡¯s POV-------------- Night finally showed its face and I stepped out of the house. Running to the forest, I send out my mana to act like a sensor to tell me if any other disciples are in the forest. When my mana determines that there are no others I head into the forest. Upon reaching a clearing I see two red-horned bears. They seem to be fighting, and the larger one is clearly dominating the smaller. Despite that fact, both bears seem to be wounded and are running out of energy. I am pretty excited because red-horned bears have demonic cores that are full of thick mana. All I have to do is watch both bears wear each other down and then kill the victor. Suddenly the large red-horn bear struck down the smaller one and I suddenly sprang into action. I pulled out my sword, which I found in my house, and used wind blade to cut the bear¡¯s head. Hehehehe¡ two hard-to-kill demonic beast¡¯s cores are now mine! Well, to be fair, they are simple to kill if one had an appropriate tier and experience, but for me it was a large accomplishment. I pick up the demon cores and pull of the demonic red-horn bear¡¯s horns. These horns could be used for magical items, so they should sell for quite a bit. Now to find a place to cultivate the cores. I run around for a bit and finally my eyes gleam. The perfect place has appeared¡ and that is a cave! Sure enough, with just a little searching I found a cave hidden deep within the forest. I go to approach it when a roar suddenly shakes the mana within my body. I look around frantically for the source of such strength when I suddenly see a Red-horned, Three-tailed Demonic Snake. This particular demonic beast was a rare breed and no problem for a stage 4 cultivator. Me being an early stage 2 cultivator could not even dream about it, but if I were to get a disciple from the inner sect¡ well they would have a chance. The only problem with this is having them have no questions about why I wanted this beast dead. Hmm¡ I guess it would be impossible to find an idiot in the inner sect willing to do things without question. Sigh¡ to give up on such a perfect cave¡ tears begin to form in the corner of my eyes. Quickly wiping the tears, I head to find another place. One hour later I find a clearing at the outer edge of the forest. Here I could easily kill any of the demonic beasts, so I feel relatively safe. I sit down and cultivate the demonic cores. I feel the cores fuel my mana, however my mana only breaks through to tier 7. It took me a couple days of meditation and three demonic cores, two of which were pretty high in mana, yet I only advanced one tier. Hmm¡ it seems like it will take a lot more mana to advance than previously. My research was correct when it said that it gets harder the more you advance. Tsk! This looks like it will be harder than I originally thought. I return to my house that I share with Maria and lay down on my bed. My nose cringes when the musky smell hits me, but my exhaustion kicks in and I fall asleep. Chapter 8: I Found an Idiot! Author''s Note: Hey, sorry for the lack of updates... I have had writer''s block! I have also chosen to stop updating on weekends... oh and in advance I''m truly sorry for my lack of good naming sense when it comes to last names... _____________________________________________________________________________________ Silver Sword Sect [Maria] ¡°Luna! Luna... wake up! You asked me to show you around today¡¡± [Me] ¡°Ugh¡ so tired¡ sleep. is. necessary.¡± Maria lifted up an old wooden bucket, and it was then that I felt a deep sense of regret. I suddenly sat up and shivered. [Me] ¡°W-why w-would y-you d-do th-that¡?¡± [Maria] ¡°I¡¯m so sorry!¡± She bends down and starts apologizing faster than one could blink. [Maria] ¡°It¡¯s just that you told me to dump ice water on you if you wouldn¡¯t get up¡¡± She trailed off at the end and handed me a towel. I sigh as I remember my words as another wave of regret washes over me. While it was true that I told her to pour ice water on me I was not expecting to be so worn out after the ¡®hunt¡¯ last night. [Me] ¡°Ugh¡ I guess that¡¯s true¡ sorry so being stubborn.¡± I head out of the room and go to our bath. When I walk in there is one other girl in there. She is normal weight, brown hair, and chestnut colored eyes. Her ears seem to be slanted, indicating that she is an elf. [Elf] ¡°Oh! Hello, I heard from Maria that she had gotten a new room-mate, are you her?¡± [Me] ¡°Ah¡ yes, my names Luna, it¡¯s a pleasure to meet you.¡± I clasp my hands in greeting and head into the water. [Elf] ¡°You are too kind! I¡¯m Abigal¡ you may call me Abby.¡± [Me] ¡°So Abby, what¡¯s your current mana base level?¡± [Abby] ¡°Its currently 3rd tier. And you?¡± [Me] ¡°Tier 5.¡± I smile, and say the lie as easy as if I were speaking the truth. In truth I was tier 7, however just being 8 and 5th tier is shocking¡ not to mention being 5 and being at 7th tier. This was yet another secret meant for just myself. [Me] ¡°Oh yeah¡ what¡¯s the name of the forest to the west of the school?¡± [Abby] ¡°Hmm¡ you must be talking about Red Horn Forest¡± [Me] ¡°Red Horn Forest? Why is it called that?¡± [Abby] ¡°Supposedly it¡¯s because all the beasts there have red horns that make them stronger.¡± [Me] ¡°Still¡¡± That is a very ¡®interesting¡¯ choice of name¡ though I should have been able to infer why it was called that. It was very interesting that the horns make the beasts stronger¡ perhaps I should have taken the horns and not have sold them. I am very interested in if it was possible to absorb them¡ [Abby] ¡°Luna?¡± [Me] ¡°Huh? Oh, umm¡ sorry about that.¡± [Abby] ¡°Zoning out? Oh yeah¡ you don¡¯t look like a ten year old¡ how old are you?¡± [Me] ¡°I¡¯m 8. You?¡± [Abby] ¡°Oh my! It seems like Elder Choro did it again¡¡± Hmm? Another person brought up Elder Choro¡ is he that famous?! Abby, mistaking my silence as waiting for her answer for my question, spoke up again. [Abby] ¡°Forgive that behavior; I should have known that it was Elder Choro. I am 12 years of age as of this year.¡± [Me] ¡°So you have been here for two years?¡± [Abby] ¡°Not exactly¡ I actually came here when I was 11.¡± [Me] ¡°Oh¡¡± [Random Voice] ¡°HEY!!! Just what are you doing to my sister! You get away from her you imbecile!¡± Right when we heard that voice Abby lets out a groan. Then, as if in response, a little elven body jumps over one of the rock walls and lands between Abby and I. It only takes a second for my eyes to notice something¡ and that something is the fact that the little elven body is not one belonging to a female¡ [Boy] ¡°You! Get away from her!¡± [Abby] ¡°Tyler, stop it! She¡¯s my friend¡ and besides don¡¯t jump in the water with your clothes on!¡± REALLY?! That¡¯s what you put emphasis on?! Besides¡ I¡¯m incredibly glad that he had clothes on¡ this is the FEMALE''S side. Quickly covering my body with a towel I wait for an explanation. Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. [Tyler] ¡°NO! All elven are evil because they hurt my sister!¡± [Abby] ¡°Tyler, we are both elven as well¡¡± [Tyler] ¡°That doesn¡¯t count! You are my sister, and I am your bodyguard!¡± [Abby] ¡°Tyler¡¡± [Me] ¡°Excuse me, but I don¡¯t exactly understand this situation right now.¡± Abby and Tyler seem to be dragged out of their own world, and turned as if just taking notice of me. COME ON! I was just talking to you, Abby, and the argument just started because I was talking to you! [Abby] ¡°Oh¡ sorry¡ um well it¡¯s a long story¡ do you have time?¡± [Me] ¡°Yes, however it would be best to move to a more¡ hmm¡ appropriate location.¡± [Abby] ¡°Ahh, yes, your right!¡± Abby and I get dressed after her brother leaves ahead of us. As soon as I am ready I go with Abby to her house. Her house seems to be just for her and her brother¡ speaking of which her brother is DEFINITELY not 10. [Me] ¡°Your brother¡¡± [Abby] ¡°I know¡ Let me explain our situation first. When I was young I was constantly teased due to the color of my hair. Never before has it been recorded that there has been a holy elf with dark brown hair. Of course, I really didn¡¯t mind the teasing, however it got worse once the war started. People started to speculate that I was part Blood Elf because my hair is really close to the black of the Blood Elves. Due to that misunderstanding even the adults started to treat me harshly until I was basically acknowledged as a Blood Elf myself. One day it got too rough, and just in the nick of time Elder Choro saved me. He also took in my 5 year old brother. There was quite a fuss when my brother appeared, but Elder Choro calmed down the other elders by saying that my brother was not part of the sect, just staying with me. Now it seems like my brother no longer trusts the elven race.¡± Wow¡ that¡¯s a history darker than mine. Although¡ doesn¡¯t that make her brother the same age as me? [Tyler] ¡°All elven are evil, especially those no-good Blood Elves! It is because of them that my sister was treated horribly! Its mph-¡° Tylers speech was interrupted by his sister placing her hand over his mouth. Abby shot me an apologetic look, and sat down. Sensing the blood lust radiating off of Tyler, I gulped. It seems like things just got a tad bit more dangerous for a certain Blood Elf in this room¡ [Abby] ¡°A-any way why don¡¯t we all just begin our mana training? Luna¡ would you like to join us?¡± [Me] ¡°No thank you, I tend to lose my concentration when cultivating around others.¡± That was a bold-faced lie of course. In fact, lying has gotten way too easy recently¡ first my age, then my tier, now this¡ sigh. I wouldn¡¯t lie about this unless necessary, but if I were to cultivate in this room with Abby and Tyler then there would be no more mana for them¡ so seriously. I absorb 85% of the surrounding mana, while even top-ranked cultivators can absorb at most 80%. Even with me being a Blood Elf, this is just¡ way too much. Sighing once more I head to the forest to cultivate as well as practice techniques. After a few hours of cultivating I decide to progress with combat training. Almost immediately I spot two red horned lizards. Unlike the red horned bears, these beasts seem to be working together. Also, unique to their species, they have a VERY sensitive nose. As long as I don¡¯t get too close I should be fine. Ah¡ the wind feels nice against my face. Wait¡ wind¡ my direction¡ crud. Both beasts seem to notice my presence and¡ surprise¡ they attack. ¡¡¡.A couple hours of intense and extremely frightening noises later¡¡¡. [Me] ¡°Finally! Huff¡ huff¡ huff¡¡± Two mangled lizard corpses lay at my feet. Suddenly I feel myself doing a mad-man¡¯s laugh¡ one thing you learn in life is to never do a mad-man¡¯s laugh unless you¡¯re mad and you want to trigger some flags¡ BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! ... and there it is. One five foot red-horned boar coming my way. My luck¡ I did not perceive it as this bad¡ I have no more mana left, and my body is trembling of exhaustion. I have no way to escape, no way to fight, and no way to hide. It seems like Death¡¯s messenger is finally here to collect me¡ how sad my life has been. ¡hmm? What¡¯s that blur? Woosh! And¡ in just five minutes Death¡¯s messenger was defeated. Basically the entire fight was too much of a blur for the naked eye to see¡ and since I ran out of mana¡ all I know for sure is one minute a red-horned boar was running towards me and five minutes later it¡¯s lying in a pool of its own blood, very gory if you ask me. [?] ¡°Are you okay madam?¡± [Me] ¡°Wha¡ oh¡ yes¡ I am Luna, may I ask for your name?¡± [?] ¡°Yes, I am called Ryan Hinamo¡± [Me] ¡°Thank you for saving me, Ryan¡± [Ryan] ¡°I would do anything if it were to help a lady as magnificent as you!¡± What?! I think I found one! I found a brown haired, brown eyed, strong human who is an utterly, complete idiot! Chapter 9: Putting the Idiot to Use Red Horn Forest Hehehehehe¡ to think that an idiot of this caliber and strength would exist¡ I was wrong¡ hehehe the gods of luck were with me! [Ryan] ¡°Luna, may I ask what you are doing in such a dangerous place?¡± ¡Hmm¡ normally it would be bad if I were caught practicing here¡ but this one¡¯s an idiot so... My eyes gleamed like a hawks and I began my master plan. [Me] ¡°Well, you see, I have recently joined the Silver Sword Sect, so I wanted to visit the forest.¡± [Ryan] ¡°Hmm? You don¡¯t look 10, was it Elder Choro?¡± Wow¡ even an idiot knows Elder Choro¡¯s name; that is sad. [Me] ¡°Ah, yes it was him.¡± [Ryan] ¡°Oh? So how old are you?¡± [Me] ¡°I am 8¡ any way could I ask a little favor of you?¡± [Ryan] ¡°I would do anything to help a delicate young lady such as yourself.¡± [Me] ¡°Well¡ you see¡ I recently found a place I would like to meditate in however a Red-horned, Three Tailed Demonic Snake came and took it from me. I-I couldn¡¯t fight back so I had to run¡¡± I look away to make it seem like I was shy or even sad. [Ryan] ¡°Then I, Ryan Hinamo, of the Inner Sect shall slay this beast!¡± Really, such an idiot! I know he is strong, however what elder in his right mind would promote such an idiot?! [Me] ¡°Thank you! Then please, follow me.¡± I run through the forest, although not deploying my full speed, and show Ryan where the demonic beast¡¯s lair lay. [Ryan] ¡°Please stand back, I do not wish for a lady to get involved.¡± Well, I was planning on doing that anyway. I hope Ryan can succeed; it¡¯s rare for this breed of idiot to exist these days. An hour in a half¡ that¡¯s how long I waited, just watching two blurry figures moving as if they were dancing. Honestly I was hoping to learn some techniques from watching, however I should have known better. Sigh¡ how did such an idiot become so strong? [Ryan] ¡°Are you alright?¡± Why are you asking me this; rather I should be asking you if you were alright! Your arm lies limply beside yourself, and the amount of wounds covering your body are limitless! I never knew¡ I never knew that such an idiot existed! [Me] ¡°I am fine, are you okay? Do you need help with your wounds?¡± [Ryan] ¡°No, I am okay. I will make it back alright, and I will heal myself on the way. I am very glad to be of help to a lady such as you.¡± With that he bowed and excused himself. I smiled and shook my head as he was leaving. This guy¡ he is such an amusing idiot. I go over to the dead demonic beast¡¯s corps and pull out its demonic core. Including this one, I currently have 4 cores to cultivate. The smallest two came from the beasts I found and killed, the second largest one came from the red-horned boar that Ryan killed and forgot to take its core and horns, and the largest being the size of two fists side-by-side. This particular one came from the previous owner of this cave. Well, I guess it¡¯s time to start cultivating! The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ---------- Ryan¡¯s POV ---------- About two hours earlier¡ [Me] ¡°Hey! Stop you boar!¡± Huff¡ huff¡ huff¡ If this red-horned boar continues on its path it may just run into the outer sect! I cannot let this happen at any cost! The children there are too weak to handle an enemy such as this one! With a final burst of speed I manage to get in front of the boar and slash its face. With a cry of pain the boar turns and starts heading another direction. Yes! Now I can be at ease that the outer sect disciples are safe once again! ¡Then that is when I saw her¡ a beautiful elf that had silky blond hair and brown eyes. She was wearing an outer sects robe, and the dead demonic beasts which lay at her feet make the aura around her seem red, causing her eyes to have a more red-ish feel to them. She was the type of beauty that could capture a man¡¯s heart, and then crush it if she pleased. She looked over in my direction, and I saw her eyes go wide in fright. The boar was charging straight towards her. No! I must not let such a beauty be hurt! In my anger and flash of panic for her I bring forth all the strength of my tier 11 power and take the beast down. As soon as I finish off the creature I look over to make sure she is alright. She is fine, and is looking at me with curious eyes. I ask if she is alright, and she replies by saying that she is. We then give out our introductions and, much to my surprise, her name turned out to be Luna. Luna¡ such a fitting name for such a dazzling girl. For some reason her eyes got excited as I told her that I would help anyone in need. I wonder if it was because of my selfless side? My heart fluttered whenever I looked at her, even though I was 12 and she was 8. As it turns out she has a most troubling problem. It seems her precious cave was stolen by an evil hearted demonic beast. As soon as I heard the difficulty of the demonic beast, I knew that it was above my level. Despite knowing this I could not let such a beauty cry¡ Look! Even now she is suppressing her tears, hiding her face from my sight so that I would not notice! I cannot let such an unforgiving demonic beast live another day in her cave! She shows me to her old cave, and stops before arriving. It must be because she is so deeply overwhelmed by depression that she cannot even take another step¡ poor girl. [Me] ¡°Please stand back, I do not wish for a lady to get involved.¡± She nodded her cute little head, and I stepped forward. Honestly I would have lost the battle if it weren¡¯t for my treasure. Every year the inner sect disciples receive a power-boosting pill, and never had I used one in my life. Today, I used my only one in order to reclaim a poor beauty¡¯s cave. After the fight was over I walked back over to Luna while trying to hide the majority of my wounds. A true man never makes himself weak in front of a woman in need! So, before I passed out, I told her I was leaving and left. Upon arriving at my house I finally found out what had been bothering me, I forgot about the demonic cores! Oh well, I hope Luna managed to find them and proceed with her training. A smile was brought to my lips as I realized I could help her out whenever because I now knew the location of her cave. Chapter 10: Curiosity Killed the Tier... Deep Within the Red Horn Forest A mysterious glow brighter than lightning suddenly bursts forth from within the Red Horn Forest. Within the very depths of this particular glow was a certain little girl. [Me] ¡°Ahh! I finally went up another tier! Unfortunately it took me all the demonic cores¡¡± I wipe away the pool of water threatening to flow down my face. It was such a shame that I had to use a particular core, the one sized of two fists, along with the others just to barely break through! I shiver when I think just how long it may have taken me if I had just cultivated the normal way. I had been in the cave for a few days and had yet to explore it. When the light from the cave finally calmed down, I attempted to stand when my legs gave out from under me. How could I have forgotten such an important detail? I basically didn¡¯t move at all for several days in a row, and then suddenly decide to stand... it was only natural that the result would be as it is. Rolling my eyes at my own forgetfulness, I place some mana into my legs to get them ready, and I stand up just fine. In fact, I think I stood up a little too fine as I just about hit my head on the ceiling of the cave. [Me] ¡°Whew¡ that was a close one.¡± I wipe the sweat layering on my forehead and begin to walk out of the cave. I need to find a place to wash off, because whenever you break through a layer you tend to go through a lot of sweat. Drip¡ Drip¡ Hmm? That noise sounds an awfully lot like water. I turn back into the cave and look for the source of the noise. As it turns out the cave is a lot deeper than I thought it was. After a minute or so of walking I come about another room in the cave. As I enter I see a moon pool settled to the left of the cave, with a little stream-like waterfall flowing into it. Despite this amazing site, I am still curious where the dripping sound originated from. The water is still for the most part, and the waterfall makes a constant swishing noise. Drip¡ Drip¡ Ah ha! I look up and see a large demonic core in a small pond of floating water. The core itself was three times as large as the snakes, and it was giving off a strange glow. I want it. I reach out my hand and fly upwards towards the treasure. Right when my fingertips lightly brush the pool of water I was forced backwards into a wall. I spit up some blood and with shaky legs, I stand back up. Behind me the cave¡¯s wall was slightly fractured due to the extreme force that pushed me back. I¡¯m honestly surprised that I did not die. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Now that I take a closer look, that particular pool of water looks like a seal. These seals widely varied in size and shape, so it was just my lack of attention skills which caused me to end up wounded. Somebody or something defiantly did not want anyone having this core¡ but¡ that was just too bad. I want that core, now. Being a scholar in my past life really helped me once again as I formulated a plan to destroy that blasted seal. This was my plan so far: first I will gain a ton of mana into my hands, and then I will rush towards the pool of water. Once arriving at the water I will release all mana into one point causing a hole to appear. Then I will reach within this hole and take what is rightfully mine, the demon core. There may or may not be problems with my plan, but since I was desperate, this will have to do. ¡°AHHH!!!¡± My battle cry rang out through the cave, and my mana collided head on towards the pool of water. The pool started to ripple and then cave in where my mana hit. The hole was a lot smaller then it was supposed to be, however it was still large enough to stick my hand in. I reach in a close my hand around the demonic core. Suddenly, as if an earthquake passed through here, a tremor caused the entire pool of water to collapse and flung me to an opposite wall. I once again spit up blood, however I was still holding on to the core. Bruised and bleeding I was holding the demonic core laughing like a mad-man again. My laugh rang out and echoed off the walls, amplifying my voice. It mattered not, as in the end it was I who had the demonic core! No puny seal was going to get in my way! Still smiling I put the core in my mouth and begin to cultivate. As the core¡¯s mana started to seep out of the core and into me, my body began to fight it off. No! Don¡¯t you dare fight off what I risked my life for! Fighting against my own mana, I struggle for a long while before I had completely absorbed the core. Wait¡ that wasn¡¯t right¡ I was supposed to cultivate it not absorb it¡ no, don¡¯t tell me¡ I look at my mana, and it was a tier 7. No¡ NO!!! All those days spent cultivating to reach tier 8 gone¡ this, this stupid core took a tier from me! I begin to try to pull out the core that was rotating within my mana, but failed. This core, it actually dared to become one with my mana! It¡¯s now a part of me, I should feel happy but having to sacrifice a tier was just too much. Tears littered the floor as I forgot the reason I was looking for a water source in the first place. ---------- Random Outer sect disciple¡¯s POV ---------- Racing through the forest I find the cave Elder Brother Ryan was talking about. He told me to check on some girl who has a cave stationed in these woods. From the way he was talking about she must be very pretty, and I can¡¯t wait to meet her. As I am just a few steps away from the cave I hear it. A loud devil¡¯s laugh that fills the forest with it¡¯s horror. Shivers run down my spine, and I run back to where I came from. If Elder Brother Ryan asks, she was fine and healthy. I just hope she was able to move out before the devil came¡ Chapter 11: Never Trust a Griffin Red Horn Forest [Me] ¡°I-I¡¯m s-sorry, p-please r-reverse¡¡± I sat there in the corner of the cave containing the moon pool apologizing over and over to the destroyed seal that once housed the demonic core. Never in my life had I been so petrified, and I often found myself stammering with my words. I was cursed¡ that had to be it. Although I never heard of this particular curse before, I do know that curses exists out there that can strip a person of their tier. I was also confused as of why I now had a demonic core in the center of my mana. No, that itself is not too confusing, what made me even more confused is the fact that I can¡¯t feel my heart beat¡ at all. Two hours, that is how long I sat there apologizing and wondering why my heart wasn¡¯t beating. At several points in time I actually believed that I had died, only to notice that I was still in the cave, and could still feel the coldness of the cave¡¯s walls and floor. This in turn caused me to break into another fit of apologies and theories as of why my heart wasn¡¯t beating. If I weren¡¯t so shaken over the fact that my tier dropped, I could have realized the answer a lot sooner, however I was in a state of panic and worry so I was not thinking rationally. Then it came to me¡ wasn¡¯t my circumstance similar to that of a demonic beasts? No heart, but instead a demonic core in its place¡ that would explain why my heart wasn¡¯t beating and why I could clearly feel the demonic core instead. ¡ And another hour came to pass¡ I have finally started to calm down and accept my new reality, that I now have a demonic core in place of my heart. That did not necessarily mean I was a demonic beast myself, it just meant that I was no longer a blood elf. The question that has been plaguing my mind for a while now was ¡®if I¡¯m not elven, or human, or demon, and if I¡¯m not a demonic beast, then what am I?¡¯ In all of history I had never heard of a being with a demonic core and without being a beast, so naturally I had no idea of what to call myself right now. ¡°Immortal¡± Oh, so that¡¯s what I¡¯m called! Hmm, no idea as of why I¡¯m called immortal if I hadn¡¯t yet reached the six stage¡ wait¡ who said that? [Voice] ¡°It is I, the sovereign of the skies, the lord of all beasts, and the griffin of all griffins!¡± WHAT?! This guy claims he¡¯s a griffin¡ pft, not possible. I mean if he were a griffin then everyone would know about him by now! Wait a minute¡ how does he know what I¡¯m thinking? I¡¯m pretty sure I never said anything allowed. [Voice] ¡°Oh? I know what you¡¯re thinking because I¡¯m inside your head!¡± This guy does know he¡¯s calling me crazy right? I finally lost it¡ the loss of a tier really affected my mental state so much, I guess it is possible. [Voice] ¡°What are you thinking about?! I am real!!!¡± Ahh, look¡ my delusions are acting up again. I must learn to ignore this sort of thing¡ [Voice] ¡°Oh, so you want to ignore me eh? Well ignore THIS!¡± Just then my vision went blank and when my eyes cleared up I was not in the cave any more. No, I don¡¯t think I was in the world anymore. Of course this is impossible, so my subconscious must have been pulled some were. Now that I look around, that is the most plausible answer. I am sitting on air, and I am surrounded by millions upon millions of stars that seem to be littering the sky both above and below me. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it [Voice] ¡°Welcome to the void!¡± I look in the direction of the voice, and that is when I see it. My entire body freezes up as I gaze upon a 7 foot beast. He looked like a lion, except he had huge bird wings bursting from his back, as well as two, simple red horns coming out of his head. A Red-Horned Griffin was standing right in front of me. No seriously, I am sure I remember that ancient beasts such as griffins don¡¯t grow red-horns¡ at all. [Griffin] ¡°I am a beauty, aren¡¯t I?¡± [Me] ¡°Hmm? Oh, sorry¡ I was just noticing how my facts on ancient beasts seem to be completely wrong.¡± [Griffin] ¡°Ancient beasts? Quick, tell me how long it has been since the last sighting of a griffin.¡± [Me] ¡°2500 years, why?¡± [Griffin] ¡°That no good, lying little brat really did it! I can¡¯t believe how audacious he was! He went and sealed me!¡± [Me] ¡°Who sealed you?¡± [Griffin] ¡°No one that is alive now¡ any way I called you here to tell you something!¡± Did he... yes he really just ignored my question, and on top of that switched topics! [Griffin] ¡°You need to know that somehow you just went and did the impossible! You literally just absorbed my core, which you probably tried to cultivate, right? Well, I wasn¡¯t one to let people just walk up and cultivate my core, so I decided to place a curse on myself. This curse made anyone who tried to cultivate it fail, however there is a extremely low possibility that if the person cultivating is a blood elf, and sacrifices oen tier, that they can instead absorb it. This will be done completely against their will, LOL! Anyway, long story short you just got an amazing power that I really don¡¯t feel like explaining¡ and I am currently disappearing because I actually died, like, a loooooooooooooong time ago¡ so have fun figuring out your powers by yourself! Bye-bye now, take care of that core!¡± I¡¯m going to kill him. No, he¡¯s already dead¡ instead I shall curse him in the afterlife! It was HIM who caused me to lose a tier and my heart! Besides, what demon says ¡®lol¡¯?! Suddenly the world shifted and I opened my eyes to see the cave once again. Eyes fuming, I continually curse the griffin to a life full of pain and misery. Then, realizing once again how sweaty I was; I took a bath in the moon pool. Ah¡ how good it felt to wash one¡¯s self after a long irritating talk with a certain griffin¡ Chapter 12: The Challenge Red Horn Forest Shame. I can¡¯t believe that I shamed myself this bad. It¡¯s a long known theory that when cultivating your emotions are blown slightly out of proportion, and that is one of the reasons you meditate when cultivating. The other reason one has to meditate is to make the mana flow more smoothly. Taking the information into account, it is only reasonable that when doing a more ¡®advanced¡¯ version of cultivation, that the after effects are also more advanced. This means that the forced absorption that I just went through had the side effects of increasing my emotions to their max for a couple hours. Thinking back, in my past life I often saw Black Mages, a type of being that focuses on dark magic, attempting to find a more ¡®advanced¡¯ way of cultivating, which they never did. Despite that, their live test subjects would go through the same emotion rising that I did. Despite the emotions both changing to the max, these people would often massacre people because of a drop of sadness, or destroy buildings because they were a certain color. Compared to them, I guess my break-down was a little mild. Knowing this information helped a little, but honestly I never wanted to be that humiliated again. Now that I think about it, it has been a couple days since I visited my house. Standing up, I stretch my sore muscles and start walking. Upon reaching the caves entrance I stop. I sense another person¡¯s presence, and I send out a little of my mana to investigate on the identity. My mana comes back with results that make me want to either cringe or smile. [Ryan] ¡°Hello Luna! Good to see you up and about your cave!¡± [Me] ¡°Nice to see you too, Ryan. By what chance are you visiting?¡± [Ryan] ¡°I actually came here on a rumor that a strange wild demon has recently inhabited this area of the forest.¡± [Me] ¡°Demon? They aren¡¯t supposed to reside in Red Horn Forest¡¡± [Ryan] ¡°I know, however I must investigate it for the safety of all sect disciples! I also wanted to warn you about the demon.¡± [Me] ¡°Thank you, but I will be fine. I am returning back to my home in the sect for now.¡± [Ryan] ¡°Oh, I see. Well, just be safe in these woods, alright?¡± [Me] ¡°Okay¡¡± Hmm¡ so it seems like a rumor about a demon residing in these parts has spread. 8 out of 10 chances point to me being the cause of such rumors, however what I could have done to make these rumors start is beyond me. I just hope that people won¡¯t come here to subjugate that demon, or else I might not be able to train like I have been. Upon reaching my house, I see Maria. She is currently standing in the garden, and seems to be pondering something. Judging on the flower¡¯s state, she is probably thinking about them. [Me] ¡°Oh hey Maria, what¡¯s wrong?¡± [Maria] ¡°Your back Luna! It¡¯s nice to see you again. I am currently wondering who trampled all over the flowers.¡± Now that I take a closer look at the flowers, I can see obvious signs of footprints, and judging on how fresh the flowers still look, I can guess that this just recently happened. I sincerely hope someone is not trying to pick a fight with either me or Maria. [A Girl] ¡°Well, well¡ what do we have here? Little Miss Know-it-all and her roommate.¡± Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Great, now I meet a dumb person. I rather idiots because that are easily manipulated with smiles, however dumb people are just people who lack a certain element called common sense. I notice Maria move slightly behind me subconsciously, and I know that the dumb person must be the bully. [Me] ¡°Pardon my intrusion, but who are you to speak to Maria this way?¡± [A Girl] ¡°Are you telling me that you never heard of me?!¡± If I¡¯m asking you then obviously I had never heard of you. [A Girl] ¡°Hmf, well a commoner of your standing would never even have a chance to hear the name of one as majestic as myself.¡± Quick question¡ does she even know the meaning of half of those words? [A Girl] ¡°I am Gabriella Delingade, daughter of clan leader Rohn Delingade. Now bow before me, you lowly peasant!¡± Although I have the body of a five year old, my scholar mind from my past life refuses for me to sink so low as to actually listen to her. In fact, if I remember correctly, although her father is a clan leader, he is the clan leader of a relatively small clan. This means I have absolutely no reason to fear a girl such as her. [Me] ¡°I apologize for my behavior; however I will not bow to one such as yourself due to social standing.¡± [Gabriella] ¡°You dare¡¡± She looks at me with evil intentions swimming in her eyes, and she clenches her fist angrily. She seems to be so spoiled that she can¡¯t take ¡®no¡¯ for an answer. [Gabriella] ¡°Fine you lowly peasant! You will fight against one of my followers, and when you lose you will bow to me!¡± Hmm? So it looks like her father¡¯s influences can only affect a little while she is in here. [Me] ¡°On what grounds would I accept this fight or its conditions?¡± [Gabriella] ¡°You will accept if you ever want to be safe outside of the sect grounds again!¡± So now she has resorted to threatening me? It makes me wonder what her father is like if his 12 year old daughter can make serious threats like this. Personally, I¡¯m not that worried about the threat, however it will be troublesome if in the future I need something and am unable to gain it because of this childish squabble. Although it may be worse if I fight and win¡ I guess there really is only one way to find out with dumb people such as her. [Me] ¡°Fine, I accept, but please do not bother me in the future if I win.¡± [Gabriella] ¡°Hmf, like you have any chance at winning. Alright, I will never bother you again IF you somehow manage to win. I will see you in the duel arena tomorrow at noon.¡± Just like that she walks away filled with over confidence. [Maria] ¡°I¡¯m sorry I dragged you into my mess, please forgive me!¡± [Me] ¡°No, it¡¯s alright. You are my roommate after all, besides she probably would have found a way to issue the challenge even if she didn¡¯t meet me through you any way.¡± So I guess I will be able to test my powers against another being that can use mana¡ seems like fun. Chapter 13: New Speed Silver Sword Sect (Luna & Maria¡¯s house) [Maria] ¡°¡ Luna, what are you doing?¡± [Me] ¡°Exercising my mana.¡± [Maria] ¡°Are you sure that¡¯s safe?¡± [Me] ¡°¡ it is in my hands¡± [Maria] ¡°What about in others?¡± [Me] ¡°Similar to suicide.¡± [Maria] ¡°¡¡± Currently I am practicing a mana training technique I often saw the Blood Elf King use. It is very effective; however you need access to a high powered demonic core to use it, hence why I have not used it before. The training consists of focusing your mana to the demonic core, which in my case is the ¡®certain¡¯ present left to me by a ¡®certain¡¯ griffin, and then making your mana condense into liquid. You then drink the mana / demonic liquid. Honestly if you don¡¯t condense it correctly, you could very well end up taking a few decades off your lifespan. I have complete control over this process due to my scholarly mind as well as the tiny fact that the demonic core is inside me. Recently my mana has gotten a little more demonic feeling, and I¡¯m starting to suspect that it is caused by my Blood Elf blood mixing with my demonic core. I really hope that the supposed gifts are worth being possibly misunderstood as a demonic beast in disguise. [Maria] ¡°You should probably start heading to the arena now¡¡± [Me] ¡°Is it noon already?¡± [Maria] ¡°No yet, there is still a couple minutes¡ although if you don¡¯t go now the crowd at the entrance will get worse.¡± Crowd at the entrance¡ just how fast did the rumors spread? I know everyone is excited when inner sect disciples fight; however we are just two outer sect disciples. The only reason I could find was the fact that my opponent was well known. As I walk up to the arena I notice a large amount of outer sect disciples all crowded by the entrance. I finger my necklace, and find the best solution to get through the crowd without having to go in between each and every person. The reason for this being that my size is smaller than everyone else who is attending. Suddenly I see Gabriella already in the arena; however she was not too far in. A bright idea suddenly came into mind, and I chuckle under my breath. [Me] ¡°Hey Gabriella, have you found someone unlucky enough to fight me?¡± I shout this aloud, which alerts all surrounding disciples of my presence. I also notice how Gabriella is now glaring at me. This shout alone accomplished two goals I had. The first goal was to simply find a way through the crowd, while the other one was to aggravate Gabriella. If she is angered then she may say something stupid and cocky, which will further her embarrassment when she losses. This in itself will stop any attempts to get back at me, and will prevent her from harassing Maria again. [Gabriella] ¡°You¡ just you wait and see! My follower is powerful enough to beat you 10 times over! You don¡¯t even stand a chance!¡± I smirk, which causes the already infuriated girl to be even more angry, and head into the arena. Upon arriving I see a large, muscular man already waiting for me. His muscles are bulging, almost as if they wish to jump out of his body as soon as they can, and his age was obviously beyond my own. He seems to be about 16, and his mana seems to be at tier 5. How did this sort of man get into the Silver Sword Sect? He has already aged some, and is still at tier 5. Judging by his bulging muscles, he probably passed the entrance test with them rather than with his mana. [Muscles Dude] ¡°Hehehe, you¡¯re just a little girl. You have no way to defeat me, just give it up unless you want some harm done to that pretty face of yours.¡± [Me] ¡°While I may be smaller than you in size, my mana out class yours. This shows how poorly your training is going. Maybe you should work on actually training in the first place. In addition, getting cocky without even testing your opponent''s strength is a little on the dumb side. You need to pay more attention in battle.¡± [Muscles Dude] ¡°You little brat! Don¡¯t speak up to your superiors like that!¡± With this, the guy ran up to me and threw a punch. Although his punch was full of force and power, it was annoyingly slow. For a person such as I who excels in wind manipulation, I also make sure my raw speed can out-class some of the lower tier demonic beasts. As I grow older my speed will also grow, so I have no worry that soon I will be able to outrun even the best demonic beasts. Suddenly I disappear from the guy¡¯s vision and reappear behind him. It would actually be more accurate to say I ran from in front of too behind of, however all that was seen was my blurred figure. [Muscles Dude] ¡°Oh? So your fast, big deal! I just reached tier 5, see if you can match up!¡± Wait a minute¡ he JUST reached tier 5?! Just how much does he neglect his training?! Also, why has he not even checked my tier yet? Is he that confident that he will win? I never knew so many stupid people resided in the Silver Sword Sect! As I am lost in thought, the guy throws another punch at me. Instantly I think of backing out of rang again, however before I got a chance to my demonic core started to vibrate. The vibration caused my entire body to shake, and suddenly a golden light started flowing out of the core and surrounded my body. When I finally gain control of my body I run out of range of the incoming attack. Instead of leaving a blurred figure behind me again, my body seemed to cut through the air and the speed of which I was moving was far greater than before. Is this one of the supposed powers of the demonic core that the griffin was talking about? My speed was no longer my own, but that of a lower tier griffin. Even the lowest tier griffin can outrun all other lower tier, and some lower-middle tier beasts. I must have out run the man, and gained the griffin¡¯s speed as my own. Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Testing the griffin¡¯s speed I rush over towards the guy and at the last moment stop and swing my hand. With all of the griffin¡¯s speed focused in my hand as well as the running head start, the air moved by my hand swiftly rammed into the guy, and he coughed up blood. After losing several mouthfuls of blood he collapsed, leaving me the victory. ----------Prince Caden¡¯s POV---------- (A few months ago) [Servant] ¡°Prince Caden, King Henry is calling for you.¡± [Me] ¡°Alright, I will go meet him at once.¡± I walk down to see what my father needs of me. My father does not often call for me as I am only the 3rd prince, and thus not as important as the 1st and 2nd princes currently. The 1st prince will inherit the throne, so he is currently being taught by instructors and guided by father, while the 2nd prince has just gotten married so he is the topic of discussion as of right now. Although he means well, 2nd Prince has recently given me a lot of problems to deal with. These problems are nobles pushing their daughters towards my face in hopes of them getting engaged with me. Normally this happens when the prince turns 14, however I am currently 8 and yet this is still happening. I walk up to a grand door, and the guards open it as I pass through. [King Henry] ¡°Son, I have heard from your Mana Instructor that your mana has already passed through tier 6. This is genius among geniuses, and so I have decided to let you go to any sect you wish and join.¡± [Me] ¡°Father is too kind; I am merely doing my duty as 3rd Prince.¡± [King Henry] ¡°Hahahaha, well said my son! Now, tell me which sect you wish to join.¡± [Me] ¡°If father insists, than I would like to join Silver Sword Sect while hiding the truth of my identity.¡± [King Henry] ¡°To that small sect?! If you so pleased you could join the best of the best such as the Heavenly Sun Sect, however you choose there! Also, my son, why do you choose to hide your own identity from all?¡± [Me] ¡°I wish to know more about the people, and in order to know this I must hide the very fact that I am the 3rd prince.¡± [King Henry] ¡°Even so¡ alright then! I grant you permission to join the Silver Sword Sect as well as permission to hide your identity! I shall see how far you have grown when you turn 16.¡± [Me] ¡°Thank you father.¡± I bow and leave the room. In truth I wish to join such a uninfluential sect due to boredom. The higher the influence the more idiots there are, so naturally it shall be less annoying going to this sect. As I arrive in the sect I notice that everything here was barren, and many disciples were going about shopping and of the like instead of cultivating. Later I discovered an arena that house several tournaments, all which bored me. After a couple months of time I quickly became bored of the sect entirely and was about to request transferring sects after all, until I saw something, or maybe it would be more polite if I said someone, that caught my eye. It was a girl that claimed to be my age, however using mana to enhance my eye allowed me to see quickly that she was lying. She was quite the beauty for someone around my age, as her blond hair flows in the wind and her dark brown eyes seemed to stare in one¡¯s soul. She has an aura around her that caught people¡¯s eyes and she carried herself in such a way as if she were educated in the ways of the world. After that chance encounter with her I kept track of her and saw that she often practiced. In fact, for a couple days she even disappeared for closed door training. She seemed to be someone that took training seriously, much more than anyone else in the sect. Then, right when I thought I finished satisfying my curiosity towards her, she was suddenly challenged to a fight in the arena. I was startled when she agreed, as she did not seem to be the type to agree to the demands of another. When I arrived at the arena the next day I saw a huge crowd of people. Gabriella must have spread word in attempt to frighten Luna. When I finally caught sight of Luna, I pondered on how she was going to make it in the arena in time when she suddenly yelled out to Gabriella. This caused all surrounding disciples disperse to allow her a path through them. She was very brilliant, and I wondered how this type of girl would fare in an actual fight. When the fighting began all she did was dodge with amazing speed. I quickly analyzed her tier and saw that she was currently at tier 7. She was actually very strong for her age, yet I never heard her boast about it. Then, when her opponent went to swing a punch, Luna¡¯s body began to tremble. At first I thought she was scared of the huge guy, but then I noticed that the air around her seemed to change. Then, almost as if time itself speed up around her, she shot out from her opponent¡¯s grasp. Shortly later she defeated him in one strike. For some reason she seemed to have gained enlightenment in the middle of battle¡ this girl interests me more than ever. It seems as if I will need to stay a while longer to satisfy my curiosity. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Author''s Note: Thank you for reading my book so far, and I hope you enjoyed it! Also, thank you everyone who has been giving me advice as to what to edit. Thank you Yewen for finding multiple mistakes in this chapter that I made while writing, I went back and fixed them. :D Thanks a bunch! Chapter 14: Training Author''s Note: Hi, sorry for the long wait. Currently I am taking Final Exams so it will take a little longer to update! Sorry! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Red Horn Forest: Luna¡¯s Cave Wind swirled around me as they danced and played with my hair. I focused all my mana into my demonic core and feel it refining and liquefying, forming a blood red liquid. I cup my hands and hold the liquid tenderly almost as a mother would a child. I brought the cool liquid up to my parched lips and my mouth greedily takes it in. The liquid mana then flows throughout my entire body, refining my mana and my body at the same time. [Me] ¡°Huff, huff, I can¡¯t believe how much work and time it took to get back to tier 8.¡± Ever since gaining this demonic core I have been improving steadily and quickly in everything except tier. In fact, my tier 8 is probably about the same as another Blood Elves late tier 9. This is slightly frightening as Blood Elves are naturally stronger than any other species when it comes to mana, so if I were to speculate, my tier 8 is about a late tier 10 human or an early tier 10 elves. This is probably due to my demonic core¡¯s power. Although this in particular is extremely useful in the long run, it is very taxing in the current time frame. When you reach tier 11, also known as stage 3, you gain the ability to form a mana lake in your body. This happens in your chest, and surrounds your heart. Having this lake will advance your power much further than just advancing a tier, and in fact upon reaching stage 3 you have officially left the ¡®mortal¡¯ realm. This does not make you an immortal, but rather a pre-immortal, as you can only receive the term immortal when you reach stage 6. Now that I think about it, the griffin that once owned this cave called me an immortal. Even he should have been able to tell that I was merely in stage 2, so why call me an immortal? Perhaps it is because of my demonic core that has replaced my heart; however that is just merely a theory. He could have also been alluding to the future, because griffins are known to be prideful creatures. It perhaps believed that anyone with its core would become an immortal? Although if that is it¡¯s thought process it is very stupid. If it weren¡¯t for my advanced techniques of cultivating / drinking the mana as well as how to properly cultivate a demonic core for 100% of its energy, than I would have never reached this far in just one week. There is one more problem that I have now. This is that my mana went from light red to blood red after I gained the demonic core. Every species cores color is different; for example, humans have a light blue mana color, Holy Elves have a white mana color, Blood Elves have a light red mana, and demons have black mana. My current mana is most likely due to my light red mana mixing and forming a new mana with the griffin¡¯s black mana. Also, I used to worry about people noticing my aura being that of a Blood Elf¡¯s, however now I worry about them finding out that my mana is that of a demon. Due to this new found worry I practiced hiding my aura, and now it comes as natural as breathing. The only problem I face with my aura now is when people wonder how an eight year old kid is able to hide their aura. These all are minor problems when coupled with the latest that I have discovered. My eyes have turned from their murky brown to a bright gold color. My blond hair naturally brings out my eyes, so they are painfully apparent. Normally I would make my mana change my eye color, however since I did not know at the time that my eyes have taken on a golden color I did not fix it. I actually did not even know of my eye¡¯s color until a young boy, about the age of eight, had black hair, and emerald green eyes, pointed it out. This boy looked very amused at my situation, and carried himself in a very kind yet noble way. Despite his mask, I have seen through him and know without a doubt that he has a slightly sadistic personality and most likely has a high position. When I asked for his name all he gave me was the name ¡®Caden¡¯, however he was careful not to attach his family name. Shaking my head to get rid of loose thoughts, I push myself off the ground. In just a week my body has been looking slightly more in shape, and my mana has grown further. Heading into the forest I spot what I was looking for. A large area of the forest was cleared, and in the middle of that clearing there was a red-horned bear at tier 10, the peak of stage 2. This will be my opponent for testing out my strength on. I suddenly take off causing no wind movement or sound until¡ BOOM! A large and powerful wind blade suddenly comes upon the large demonic creature. It roars angrily and swipes at me with its sharp, thick claws. I maneuver my body using its strength, my mana, and my surroundings to my advantage, avoiding the attack completely. [Me] ¡°Wow, I was right choosing this method to practice and cultivate in!¡± I suddenly pull out a dagger made up of ice and use wind to enhance it. I use this same dagger to make a swiping motion down the entire bear¡¯s back. Since the bear¡¯s main points were his strength and not his agility it could not avoid the attack and chose to take it head on. The dagger went straight into the back causing a major wound to appear. Normally an ice dagger could not penetrate a red-bear¡¯s defense, however with the wind¡¯s additional power it went in. If it were not for the bear being prepared it would have been a fatal wound. Despite the bear avoiding a fatal wound, I was prepared. The bear swiped at me once more, and this time instead of avoiding it, I decided to test my body¡¯s limits. I took ahold of the bear¡¯s paw and used it to spring-board me up into the air. My arms start to trickle blood as I am in the air. It seems like I am not fully prepared for this activity yet as I have slight scratches on my arm where the bear¡¯s claws managed to graze me. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Using gravity to my advantage I use mana to increase my weight suddenly and head like a meteor towards my enemy. I pull out the ice dagger once again and use wind to surround the blade. I swipe the bear¡¯s eyes with the wind-enhanced blade and cause the bear to lose his sight. After the bear has been rendered sightless I use stealth to get behind the enraged beast and slit its throat. The large body falls with a large boom, causing the earth beneath my feet to tremble slightly. Walking up to the red-horned bear I slice my dagger at its chest and take out its demonic core. This is one of the best that I have managed to obtain, and I pocket it immediately. I then look at the bear once more. I slice off its horns and pocket those as well. I then pick up the bear and start heading to the sect¡¯s store. Not only does this store sell amazing products, but they also buy raw materials from demonic beasts. This is where I plan on selling this bear. Upon getting close to the store I put down the beast and start dragging it by the paws. This is done in order to avoid suspicion on my true strength. [Ryan] ¡°Oh my, Luna! That¡¯s quite a bear you have there, did you kill it?¡± [Luna] ¡°Huff, yes, it just happened to be wounded by another beast, so I just finished it off.¡± [Ryan] ¡°That must be heavy. Here, let me take it.¡± The idiot is helpful once again as he helps me with the bear. When we walk the rest of the way to the store I happen to see Caden looking over at me with an amused expression on his face. It seems as if he knows what¡¯s going on¡ I will have to pay more attention to him in the future. This Caden has become an obstacle. [Shopkeeper] ¡°Oh? That¡¯s quite a heavy one you got there Ryan.¡± [Ryan] ¡°Actually, it was not me but rather Luna who killed it.¡± [Shopkeeper] ¡°This little lady must be quite strong!¡± [Luna] ¡°No, I just got lucky.¡± This seemed to make perfect sense to the shopkeeper as he nodded and let it go. He then took the proper measurements and paid me 1 copper coin and 2 bronze coins, which I immediately exchanged my copper coin for 10 bronze coins. Leavingthe store with my money, I head to my cave. Sitting on a stone located in the middle of my moon pool I look at the 2 red horns in my hands. I have been pondering this question for a while about whether or not it was possible to cultivate these. It is common knowledge that red horns cannot be cultivated; however I have a different theory. Using a demonic core, if a person channels their mana properly through these then it may be possible. I start stirring up my demonic core and immediately a blood red aura surrounds me. After a few hours I feel the red horns start to vibrate slightly and soon it is shaking as if an earthquake was happening in it. Then my demonic core starts beating as a heart would, forcing my mana to do the same. The pounding is then forced into the horns, and they too begin pounding like a heart would. Then the horns slowly began disintegrating and turning into deep red energy. This energy began flowing into my demonic core, which then distributed into my muscles and mana channels. By the time I was done it had been over 5 hours, and night had fallen once again. The reason I had some of the energy flow into my muscles is due to my training style. I prefer hands-on combat rather than standing idly by and chanting spells. Due to this I train my muscles with both mana and experience in order to fight close combat. The way I use the technique that I train in is not normal, nor even considered by the majority of the population because it is something that is also top secret for only the heads of the Blood Elf clans. The only reason I know of it is because one of those Blood Elf clans once bribed me for it in exchange for my knowledge of top-secret military information that I had accidently obtained. The result of this trade off led to the Blood Elf¡¯s victory in that particular battle, however I couldn¡¯t care less because the other clan had it in for them since the beginning. The training style I do is to focus my mana on my muscles and evaporate it inside them. This causes my deprived muscles to suck up every piece of mana that had evaporated and use it to grow. It does not grown outwards, but rather in strength, so when finished my body will be like a tigers. I also use my mana to improve my mana channels, causing me to grow more powerful as a mage. In summary, this training method allowed me to quickly grow both as a mage and as a hand-to-hand combat warrior. Sighing on past memories, I close my eyes and begin cultivating again following this technique. Breath, focus, condense, drink, control, and repeat. Hmm? Since when did 85% of the energy become so great in power? Don¡¯t tell me that after I absorbed that core that¡ no¡ that core seriously had this power?! I quickly check, and when I confirm my theory my eyes open wide. No longer was I absorbing 85% of the energy around, but rather I was absorbing all 100%. It is said that a human¡¯s path to absorbing 100% of energy does not exist, as perfection cannot be allowed to exist anywhere. This in itself would cause many cultivators to want me dead¡ the reasons for my death just keep piling up¡ Chapter 15: The Ominous Air Author''s Note: So... I have not posted in awhile, and at first it was due to my exams but... well... I have gotten lazy. Not to worry though, I will pick up the speed again and do my best to release on time! I hope you enjoy! ___________________________________________________ Silver Sword Sect: ----------Elder Choro¡¯s POV---------- [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Sir! I must report something at once!¡± [Me] ¡°Oh? To interrupt me at such a time¡ what is bothering you young one?¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Well, recently our supply of demonic beasts is growing exponentially¡¡± [Me] ¡°This is important because¡¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Well, never has it risen like this before, and in addition to this we have also been getting demonic beasts such as a Red-horned demonic bear. Recently every beast has had their horns cut off before selling.¡± [Me] ¡°Couldn¡¯t any inner sect disciple such as yourself do this?¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°While you do have a point, the owner of the shop described the seller as a young girl about the age of eight.¡± [Me] ¡°Hahahahaha! She is fitting in splendidly! Tell me, have you found what use she has of the horns?¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Not really, Sir. She has not sold them or made things from them. For some reason whenever she gets the horns they never reappear.¡± [Me] ¡°Oh well, hahahaha¡ she is just too much of a mystery! Just watch out or else she just may surpass you!¡± At this the disciple noticeably froze, until the expression on his face turned back into a respectful one. He then bowed politely and left the room, his report finished. Occasionally inner sect disciples would be given tasks to complete, and this young man had the task of looking out for changes within shops and behaviors. He does his job quite well and in fact recently reported in respect showing in the eyes of some outer sect disciples for the young girl I had just brought in. I had brought her in on a whim of mine, believing that she may be regarded as a genius in the future¡ however¡ this girl seems to be better than I expected! I wonder how she has gained so much strength, as to be a tier 7 at such a young age. I started to chuckle again when I remembered the look of the other elder¡¯s faces when they hear that an eight year old beat up another one of their disciples, even though they only belonged to the outer sect. Soon my chuckle found its way to become a full blown laugh, something that was once again become quite the occurrence here. ----------Inner Sect Disciple¡¯s POV---------- I was shocked. I was shocked at the multitude of attention a mere eight year old can achieve. At first I was curious as to why Elder Choro would bring someone as young as her here, however I paid it no mind when I thought of the others that he had brought as well. Then, shortly after, one of my friends, Ryan, asked me to keep an eye on her. I know that Ryan believes in treating ladies right, however never has he asked me to keep an eye on someone before. As I kept an eye on this girl I was surprised that for some reason every night she would disappear from my radar, only to reappear again in the morning. It is not easy to get away from me as she usually did, and I was even more surprised that she knew I was following her at times. If it were not for me already keeping an eye on her in the first place I would not have known about my most recent report to Elder Choro. Who would have known that she was able to hunt down so many demonic beasts? When Elder Choro mentioned about her possibly surpassing me, I knew that in all reality she could in a few years time. This was an achievement itself, and I honestly felt shocked as I accepted this fact. This was a being that you did not want to mess with. ----------Ryan¡¯s POV---------- Luna keeps on surprising me time and time again¡ I am seriously wondering if she is just an elf. Her beauty out-shines the stars, however it is starting to seem as if she is having more and more of a demonic aura around her. Usually with this aura people would look down on that particular being, but for some reason with this she just keeps gaining more and more admirers. She is only eight, yet despite this I have had to ¡®quiet¡¯ some of the sect members to make sure that they don¡¯t attack her. A man never lets a woman be attacked! I reach up and scratch my temple as I think about the most recent events taking hold in the political world. It seems as if the multiple sects who already had a distasteful view towards us have become enraged when word somehow leaked out about the prince of an unknown country is attending. I don¡¯t see how this little piece of news pushed them off the edge since there are many influential people attending their sect, and this is only a little rumor that could be false, but for some reason they feel content on destroying us. That us includes everyone here, including the women! Pounding upon my head I walk in circles trying to find a way to resolve this issue without any women getting caught up in the mess, including a certain young lady. I start grinding on my fingernails as I think about all the things that could happen to everyone¡ I MUST PROTECT THEM!!! Even if the women can protect themselves, a man¡¯s one job and purpose in life is to protect women at all cost! -----------Prince Caden¡¯s POV---------- Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Tsk! It seems as if the other pesky sects found out where I was located. It should have taken a lot longer to find me; the only way they could have found me is if the very inner palace had a leak that needed to be plugged. Being the 3rd Prince of the Araneae Kingdom it¡¯s a bragging right to have me within their sect¡ this is the very reason I joined this sect secretly! Despite my many reasons for joining this sect and my one interesting reason for staying, I did not think it through enough. Had I looked into the political balance of this sect it would have been obvious that this is a no-go sect because almost all the other sects have found one reason or another to hate it; me joining was a perfect excuse to dispose of it¡ ----------Servant for the Silver Sword Sect¡¯s POV---------- My colleagues and I quietly creep down the hallway, sweat pouring off our backs. I pause for a moment when I hear a low, raspy, and indistinguishable voice coming from the room adjacent from where I¡¯m standing. Suddenly the air around the sect grows even more cold and frightening. I dab my already soaked handkerchief at my forehead and continue on with my task. My colleagues and I look around at each other as if warning one another not to make a sound. For some strange reason when we were working the air just got thinner and colder as a murderess air began to float around the sect. We did not know the origin of this particular feeling, as we were not cultivators; however we went to seek out Master Ryan. Since he is an inner sect disciple famous for protecting many other fellow sect members we were hoping that he could help. We were wrong. As we approached his door we could hear an evil murmuring and then a low chuckle that frighten the maids so badly that a couple of them fainted and had to be taken home. Not knowing the reason for even Master Ryan to be in that mood, an ominous feeling drifted throughout the sect and all of the sect members. All classes that were supposed to be held were withdrawn and not many people were able to focus on cultivating. Though no one knew the situation that would cause this feeling, we all knew that we would do whatever we could to avoid it from happening again. ----------Luna¡¯s POV---------- As nightfall was descending I began my trek back to my house that I share with Maria. I am satisfied with my current tier for now, although it has become harder to cultivate now that I have reached the 8th tier. As I walked into the streets I immediately noticed the ominous air floating around the sect. I also noticed how I could spot only a few people here and there, when normally there would be more. Knowing the political situation on the sect due to my naturally curious nature when I first entered the sect I knew that this air was most likely due to that. Although I am not well versed in politics, as I rather Blood Elves, I know enough that I can safely infer that this most likely means that the other sects have finally found a reason to openly go against us. I look towards the general direction of the inner sect and notice how the air over there seems to be more heavy and cold. Chuckling, I imagine just what Ryan¡¯s reaction was when he found out about the situation to lead to this situation. Suddenly I see something incoming towards my right shoulder. I quickly jump to the right while turning in a sharp 90 degree rotation. I look at what the incoming thing was and I see a poor servant as white as a ghost with many logs just now hitting the ground with a thud and rolling around. The servant must have dropped these logs when I startled him by my fast movements. [Me] ¡°I¡¯m terribly sorry. How about I help you pick these up.¡± Not waiting for an invitation I begin to pick up the mess that I was partially responsible for. [Servant] ¡°No, no. It was my fault; I was not paying attention to where I was going and about hit you.¡± [Me] ¡°It was partially my fault for startling you, so please let me help.¡± [Servant] ¡°Alright¡ thank you miss.¡± [Me] ¡°No problem, please take care.¡± [Servant] ¡°You too miss¡± At this the servant left me and continued on with their task. It seems as if the air is even taking an effect on the servants. I look at them with eyes full of pity. They do not have any protection what-so-ever against this air, unlike the rest of us cultivators. I shrug off the air and continue my walk until I reach my house. Upon arriving I enter to see Maria sitting on the corner of her bed while reading a book. Although I say reading, it seems as if she were having trouble focusing. She notices immediately when I enter and stumble out of her bed to greet me. I hold out my hand to stop her and speak. [Me] ¡°It¡¯s fine. No need to get up for me, we are roommates and friends aren¡¯t we?¡± [Maria] ¡°Ah! That¡¯s right, we are!¡± I shine a smile at Maria and sit down next her to see what she was currently reading. [Me] ¡°Is that ¡®The Cultivating Star¡¯?¡± [Maria] ¡°Y-yeah, it was one of my favorite books as a child.¡± [Me] ¡°I think that it is indeed a wonderful book that focuses on the dreams of a person who wishes to stand upon the heavens with the might of cultivation¡¡± After a few hours of talking and coaxing Maria out of her daze caused by the tense air in the sect, we finally went to our respective beds and went to sleep. Chapter 16: The Calm Before the Storm Author¡¯s Note: Hey, my new editor and I have just finished editing all the previous chapters! Anyways¡ hope you enjoy this chapter! If you have any questions or insights regarding the story please feel free to put them in the comments! Have a nice day! __________________________________________________________________ Silver Sword Sect: ¡¡¡.3 days after the ominous feeling¡¡¡. ----------Elder Choro¡¯s POV---------- [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Elder! Elder! Bad news!¡± [Me] ¡°What is it boy? Spit it out.¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Sir, it seems as if the Heavenly Sun Sect had declared war against us!¡± [Me] ¡°WHAT?!¡± I pound my fist against the left side of my chair. Why would such a large sect attack us?! Why now out of all times? [Me] ¡°Boy, do you know why they choose this time to attack?¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°N-no sir, just that it may have to do with the rumors that the prince left to visit his home country for a week. Doing this will prevent too much hatred against them from that royal family.¡± Hmm¡ EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! These people know their stuff, HAHAHAHAHA! I guess if a fight is what they want, than a fight they shall receive! [Me] ¡°Go now! Tell the others to spread the news, ¡®We will be fighting the Heavenly Sun Sect in five days from now, and whoever contributes the most in the fight shall receive a just reward!¡± [Inner Sect Disciple] ¡°Y-yes sir!¡± [Me] ¡°Muahahaha!¡± ----------Luna¡¯s POV---------- I look around at the chaotic street below. I am currently sitting on one of the arena¡¯s large, towering walls. Below be are a multitude of people rushing around, some more chaotic than others. Some people were even going as far as to push others off their original course. [Me] ¡°Tsk¡ it seems as if the news was true after all¡¡± Recently there has been gossip spreading that a certain sect was planning to attack. The entire Silver Sword Sect was thrown into an uproar, and immediately after all disciples started to take some form of action. Some started to train in order to receive awards for when the battle starts, while others ran, abandoning their sect in exchange for their lives. I was part of the former group, and began openly spending my time in the Red Horn Forest. I have gained a lot of experience, however it seems as if I were stuck in mid 2nd stage. No matter how much I train I can not pass tier 8, it is as if that path is locked and I need to find a key to continue on. Sighing at these hopeless thoughts I stand up and jump off the arena wall. Instead of falling to my doom, I pull of the power of my demonic core and instantaneously slow down in my deccent. This is just another one of my powers that stems from my demonic core, this is also the only other power that I have discovered besides speed. As I land on the ground I dispel the invisible barrier I have surrounding myself in order to not attract attention. Unlike my previous power this one did not come from my demonic core. This power comes from utilizing the wind elemental to it¡¯s max potential, which should be impossible. The only way to use it¡¯s true potential is to be able to withdraw all 100% of it which, for some unknown reason, I am able to do. [Ryan] ¡°Hey Luna!¡± I turn around, and behind me is a man hardly recognizable as the well-known inner sect disciple Ryan. His eyes have become blood-shot from countless sleepless nights, and his face appears to be an ashen-grey. He claims the reason for this is due to his vigorious training however other signs point that it is due to worrying. I don¡¯t know the reasons for his worry, however it must have something to due with his protective nature. [Me] ¡°Hey Ryan. How have you been doing as of late?¡± [Ryan] ¡°I have been doing well. In fact, just a couple hours ago I went up another tier!¡± [Me] ¡°Really? That''s great¡¡± [Ryan] ¡°Yeah, I now have a slightly better chance at protecting others¡¡± Ryan glanced at me with a nervous expression on his face. His eyes darted towards mine, but then fell back to his feet. Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. [Me] ¡°...Okay, just be sure to get some rest or else you will be too tired to fight when the time comes.¡± [Ryan] ¡°...yeah¡ alright¡¡± I wait a bit to see if Ryan wants anything else, and after a few moments I walk away. ----------Ryan¡¯s POV---------- It''s been 3 days of worrying straight. I worry if I will be able to protect everyone, if I will be able to help my juniors, and I worry if I will be able to protect Luna. I know that I am a couple years older than Luna, but despite this Luna seems to have both a mind and a body more mature than my own. Since the last time I saw her, she has grown and matured yet again, and I found myself at a loss. Naturally if you advance in your tier then you body will also grow more healthy, however for youth that means that your body will mature at a faster rate. It¡¯s natural that Luna would make a couple of advances in her cultivation, but she looks like a 12-13 year old while she is only 8. This is a 4-5 year difference, which means she must be powerful for her age¡ probably tier 5, maybe 6. As these thoughts were entering my brain I almost ran into her. Her hair flowed gently down to her waist, as if she had just jumped down from something, and her appearance was that of an angle. When I announced my presence she looked at me with her golden eyes that could only be described as a gift from heaven. Last time I remembered her eyes were a brownish-red, however I heard that it was most likely the last place that she was cultivating in that made it that way. After a short conversation I look up at Luna and notice her eyes looking into mine. Her eyes seem to contain the universe and knowledge that could rival that of a god¡¯s. Her mouth was slightly curved downwards, as if worrying about something. Instead of marring her face, they just added a new appeal that caused the surrounding people to notice. After a short while she turned around and left, causing people to make way for her. As I saw a group of boys look at her with eyes full of lust I glared and let loose my cultivation, causing them to look up at me and scamper off. Good. I will protect everyone, especially one¡¯s I consider close friends. ----------Luna¡¯s POV---------- ¡¡¡ 5 days later¡¡¡. BOOM! I flick off the blood off my sword and look towards my prize. It is a 10 foot Red-Horn Demonic Snake. This snake was a tier 10 demonic beast that lurks in the middle of the Red Horn Forest. Like usual I take off it¡¯s horns and take it¡¯s demonic core. I then pick up the corpse and half drag / half carry it to the shopkeeper¡¯s place. I couldn¡¯t carry it completely since it was fat and was not going to fit in my arms. When I arrive at my destination the shopkeeper merely raises an eyebrow at my catch and gestures to where I could put it. Then he places two silvers onto the counter and walks off to process the creature that he bought. I look upon the silvers in surprise, but take them nonetheless. In these past five days I have been training non-stop, however no matter how hard I try I am unable to pass tier 8. I once again get the feeling that it is locked. Never in the past, both my current life and my past life, have I ever heard of this type of situation¡ but then again I don¡¯t remember anything about an elf, or any being other than demonic, gaining a demonic core. Could it be something wrong with the core? No, it must be that I am missing something¡ I wonder what it is¡ Ding! Ding! Dong! My eyes open on their own accord with the sound of bells. These bells were only to be rung if the Heavenly Sun Sect has arrived. My body flies up and I zoom towards were the bells are ringing. The battle has begun! _____________________________________________________________________________ Hey guys, I just remembered that you don''t know about the money in my story, so here it is! (By the way, anything larger than a gold coin is considered a fortune for an entire city.) *I edited the currency to fit the economy due to some suggestions you guys gave. Thanks!* 10 bronze = 1 copper 50 copper = 1 silver 100 silver = 1 gold 100 gold = 1 holy 10 holy = 1 rainbow 20 rainbow = 1 legendary *If you can''t see the image go here: http://postimg.org/image/9eo64z117/ * Chapter 17: The Demon Within Sorry for leaving you all for so long! I honestly got caught up in my online classes + summer + a lot of other light novels I discovered = I forgot about my own book! I will try harder to actually update! Oh, and my editor is the one that had to be given credit for reminding me about writing! Anyway, sorry again!!! (By the way I added ¡®mana armor¡¯, which is just them using mana to create a thin outlining over their body that acts as armor in the middle of fighting!) _______________________________________________________________________ ----------Random Heavenly Sun Sect Elder¡¯s POV---------- As we neared the pathetic excuse of a sect we raised our voices and all eyes turned toward the sect with greed. In order to raise moral further our Sect Leader stood up before us. [Sect Leader] ¡°Today we have come to wipe off the abomination of a sect that has dared house a member of royalty within it¡¯s filthy walls! This lowly sect dares to come before us and reuse to dissolve into the nothingness that is really is! Today, we have gathered in order to show this sect what a REAL sect looks like!¡± Instantly all members of the sect gather and cheer, their eyes burning with hatred and jealousy towards the sect before them. Their hatred was almost comparable with the hatred of the Blood Elves, and their jealousy churned for the lowly establishment that housed royalty. [Sect Leader] ¡°This sect no longer has the right to remain standing, and as such no longer has the right to their disciples or their resources! This being so¡ you may take whatever you find and whomever you find as soon as we crush this ant that dares raise up against us!!!¡± At the mention of the ¡®prize¡¯ that would be available to us a soon as we win the crowd¡¯s eyes all filled with greed, some even having the glimmer of lust. With the disciples here being around the ages of around 12 to 18, it is only natural that their minds go elsewhere. Soon after this round of cheering comes to an end, horns could be heard in the distance, signifying our arrival and the battle that will soon commence. ----------Luna¡¯s POV---------- Looking onto the battlegrounds my eyes open in wonder and admiration. The Heavenly Sun Sect is using a famous battle plan that was developed a few thousand years ago. It consisted of the main force attacking straight on, while having a line of the most powerful at the back. Once the battle was full on raging and casualties had been taken the experts would then zoom to the front and take out as many as possible. It worked because they had their experts fight us while we were weak and exhausted. This was one of my most favored techniques to study as a Nymph, however was not recommended due to the amount of casualties that your side would take in order to wear out the other side who is using their best in the front. I look over at our side to see what we have going so far. Caos. That is what our side looks like. It has absolutely no structure or planning to it. I know we aren''t the best of the sects, but REALLY? The one thing that is unforgivable in battle is not having order and a plan. I feel my right eye twitch in annoyance as I look between the structured army of the enemy and the unorganized chaos of our own. Then, while no one seems to notice their own mistake, they all just blindly rush in at once. My mind instantly compares the advantages that the Heavenly Sun Sect holds above us now. The first one would be their plan. They know what they are doing and know how to do it. The second thing is their numbers. This sect heavily outnumbers us, so they didn¡¯t even need to bring all their members, but they are still able to out number us. Another advantage is that they have more wealth which has allowed for better weapons and better equipment, and this is above what our sect is able to afford us. I sigh as I look at the battle raging below and get down from the tree I was atop to join in the fray. To my luck, or as others would say,¡±to my misfortune¡±, my first opponent is a talker. Why do I always end up fighting the talkers? [?] ¡°Hey little missy, are you sure you''re able to hold that weapon of yours?¡± He jeered as if he made the comment of the century and raised his axe up in what I assume could only be his futile attempt of a menacing pose. He is tier 5¡ I am seriously wondering what these people are doing to common sense these days. NEVER judge your opponent by their age, and ALWAYS look at their cultivation BEFORE attacking. This should be common knowledge, so why do so few people know it? The man then sprout some vulgar words I doubt he even understands himself, and then rushes at me. His eyes are full of anger¡ just by me ignoring him. [Me] ¡°Rule number 1, never lose your calm in the battlefield.¡± Just like that I too rush at him, only in a more menacing way that causes him to flinch. That slight hesitation was enough for me to move in close. I swipe my sword towards his abdomen, and he counters with his axe. I then take a few steps back, causing his axe to fumble and he lost his footing. I then swipe several times in the air and his eyes widen as several wind slices tear at his flesh. Lucky for him, he seems to have been able to produce a light magic armor in the last moment. Despite this he still took some damage. [?] ¡°AAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!¡± He make a sound of agony, and five other boys turn our way. They then join in the battle in order to help their wounded comrade. Unfortunately their tiers all happen to be 4-8, and only one of them having on magical armor, not including the bleeding one that they came to help. This little blunder of theirs was instantly exploited by me. [Me] ¡°Rule number 2, never underestimate your opponent.¡± Their eyes widen in that moment as understanding dawns on them¡ understanding that comes too late. I swipe my hand across the air and a fire tornado appears before me that engulfs all of the surrounding enemies. I was able to take out the 6 men along with a few other men that were attacking my comrades. I dab at my sweat that is lightly covering my head. The last attack took more out of me than I expected. I will have to train more in the future. I look around and notice my roommate, Maria, in some trouble. I start rushing there, however some other¡¯s block my way. There are three this time, two girls and one boy. All of them seem content in blocking my way. Tsk, I do not have time for this! I analyze their tiers and about fall back. Tier 7, tier 9, and a tier 10. One is below me, while the other two are above in tiers. Although tier is not a way to indicate who will win in a fight, it is a way to show the amount of raw power and talent a person holds. Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! I quickly back off a few steps to distance myself from these people. If I am guessing correct then they should be the more powerful disciples of the sect, so why are they here? Shouldn¡¯t they still be at the back? I quickly spare a glance at the back and my eyes narrowed in disgust. They messed up one of my favorite techniques¡ they went too early! It''s incredibly hard to mess up such a simple thing¡ yet they somehow did! A movement from one of the disciples causes my attention to snap back to my impending battle. Unsurprisingly, the first attack takes the form of a oversized flaming fist. I cast a water wall that is cold enough to stop the flames from touching me, and just like that the fighting begins. I must not make a mistake or else I will die¡ these disciples are too strong to be taken lightly. I smirk¡ this is good. I have already lived one life, let this one be full of risks! I dodge the incoming earth spike, and use the boy as a shield against the incoming water bullets. As a result, the boy''s body now looks like a mutilated corpse¡ I must make sure I don¡¯t get hit by those. Now my only enemies consist of the two girls, the tier 7 earth user and the tier 10 water user. I dodge a earth arrow coming to my side, but this causes me to hesitate a little too long to dodge the incoming water arrow. It seems as if these girls are used to team fighting. I stand back up, wincing when my new stomach wound slowly oozes blood. I swipe my sword in multiple fast wind attacks, not holding anything back. As a result the earth girl¡¯s magic armor is unable to hold up and I am able to cause multiple wounds to appear, one of which hits a major blood supply, causing her to bleed out. The odds of me surviving has now raised considerably, but I still have to deal with the strongest fighter. She says nothing, but I can see that she is just barely controlling her anger. She must be experienced in order to hold that in. She then releases the full power of a tier 10 user, and she sends a large water blade my way. I just barely dodge, and while focusing on not getting decapitated by that water blade she comes in close and swipes at me with her twin daggers. I manage to block the one on my right with my sword, however I had to result in using my left arm to stop the blade from closing in to my chest. Even with my magic armor and the extra strength given to me by the griffon core, the dagger still manages to penetrate to the very start of the bone before stopping and getting stuck. During this short amount of time I ignore the pain and swipe at her, causing her headless body to fall to the ground. I look at the dead body, and then proceed to take a hold of the handle of the dagger buried into my arm. I grip the handle, and quickly pull it out of my arm. [Me] ¡°AGHHH!¡± The resulting pain is unimaginable, but I focus on healing the injuries. Soon thewound on my stomach, and my arm starts to slowly patch itself back together. I look over at Maria, and see that she received some help from another member of the sect, and that she is fine now. I then back away to focus solely on healing. After a few moments I hear a heart wrenching cry of agony reach my ears. [Tyler] ¡°SISTER, NOOOO!!!¡± Recognizing that voice, my head snaps into attention towards the cry. There I see a horrific scene playing out. A large man with a scar across his left eye lifts up his long blade and I see in slow motion Abby¡¯s top section separate from the lower portion. I widen my eyes and felt tears leak from the corners of my eyes. I scream in agony at the loss of a friend, and then scream in pain as something is burning into my chest. It hurts¡ why did she die?... they attacked us¡ the pain is too much¡ they were the cause of this¡ why does my chest hurt like so? The last thing I saw was my key necklace glowing¡ then nothing. ----------Tyler¡¯s POV---------- [Me] ¡°SISTER, NOOOO!!!¡± Then I see my sister, the last of my family, die. I scream in dismay, and then I notice the horrific guy come closer to me. There is nothing I can do¡ I failed my sister¡ my life is forfeit. Then the guy that was coming for me was suddenly cut down by an unexplainable streak of light. I look towards the source and all I see is a demon. A little farther down the battlefield is a demon, no, more like a devil reincarnated¡. This beast shares some of the same features as my sister¡¯s friend, Luna, but something is wrong about this figure. It has two inward curved, large, black horns and the powers that are being wielded by that beast is not one that a human should be able to wield. Dark energy follows the creature as it seemingly disappears from one end of the battlefield to another, leaving trails of blood in it¡¯s wake. Normally one would shiver in fear before such an abomination, but to me it feels like salvation. It has gotten rid of my sister¡¯s murderers, and is ridding our enemies from the world. Who would have known? Me, the hatter of all suddenly finding peace in such a creature. Whatever happens next, I do not care nor do I care about the result of such a mindless slaughter. All I care about is that my sister¡¯s killer has been avenged. ----------Random Elder from Heavenly Sun Sect POV---------- We were pushing back the worthless scum and killing all, no matter the age. AHAHAHAHA, such slaughter is good for the mind! I watch as another elder kills a cowardly girl and grins cruelly at that girl¡¯s brother. It is always interesting to see how he kills siblings before one another. He takes pride in destroying the minds of such children, and I don¡¯t mind the show myself. Then I hear a cry that sounds as if it came from the devil himself, and I look around to see hiiii----her?! Contrary to popular belief, it seems as if the devil is in fact a girl. Who would have known?! It seems as if we had really done it this time¡ we finally managed to send to many souls to the devil to tick her off. She must be pissed at the amount of deaths we have caused in the recent years¡ ha~. I never would have guessed that I would go out by the devil. I then see many of my comrades fallover in a pool of their own blood, and I await my turn. Then suddenly I feel a sharp feeling in my stomach, I look down and my vision starts to blur. Who would have known¡ such a way to go. Then my vision goes black, never to open again. Chapter 18: Goodbye Nymph''s Kingdom Palace ----------King Henry''s POV---------- I sigh as I rub my temple, a familiar headache creeping up. Even now, as I am doing paper work the memories of that day remain. [Wife] ¡°Are you okay? Are you still remembering it even now? You are not guilty, you have no reason to feel responsible¡ it was her choice.¡± [Me] ¡°Yes, I know¡ but why HER? Why did she not listen to me?! Why, even as I warned her¡ she still continued¡± That day still replays on my mind. Bringing my own daughter to the executioner myself¡ I feel a slight tear spill from my eyes. Vision blurry, my memories continue to unfold. My youngest daughter, Princess Emma, had been infatuated with Blood Elves since birth. Normally that was okay, as all that happened was a little negative feelings from the Holy Elves, however that was before the war. Once the war started I begged her to stop visiting the royalty of the Blood Elves¡ but she chose to ignore me, pursuing knowledge. While normally knowledge comes first in our kingdom, there has always been a need to survive slightly above that, so I knew not where her passion was derived from. One day, while having a meeting with the human kingdoms for a peace treaty they made only one large demand. This demand was to stop associating with all ¡®demon spawn¡¯, meaning Blood Elves. When my daughter would not listen I was given a choice from the alliance. The choices given was to lock my daughter away or to have her executed. I was forced, with my head down to accept these conditions so that my kingdom can survive. When my daughter was faced with these choices she chose execution. I believe her words were something like, ¡°To lock me away and take from me my learning would be the same as torture. Get on with the execution so that I may have many other experiences.¡± That night I accompanied her as humans, elves, and even other nymphs called for her death. She was mercilessly called many names, the most common of them all being the term ¡®Black Blood¡¯. After execution I received a letter from the fairies and the dwarfs. The contents of the letter stating that since I had even abandoned my own child to die that they were ashamed to have known me in the first place. At the end of the letter they spoke of breaking all contact between kingdoms, and we never heard from them since. It has been 6 years since that day, and yet the memories seem intent to drive me crazy with self-loathing. I look up at the stars hanging in the sky in wonder. Emma, please watch over this kingdom despite how it has treated you. Daughter of mine, please me up there in the heavens singing and dancing amongst the stars. Oh daughter of mine¡ please forgive us. ----------Luna¡¯s POV---------- Mnnn¡ I open my eyes and look around. I seem to be in my cultivation cave¡ what happened? Let''s see¡ I was battling, OH! Abby was killed¡ and then¡ umm¡ I went on a rampage? Wait¡ I move my hands upwards. As they reached the top of my head I felt two large horns protruding off my head. I then look towards my hair and notice that it has changed to a pitch-black color. It couldn¡¯t be¡ no I¡¯m sure I¡¯m a Blood Elf¡ not possible¡ unless¡ I quickly check my cultivation and gasp. I have entered level 3!!! This means that, including the experience I gained from massacring a sect, I have gained 3 tiers. This¡ this is unheard of!!! Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. Now that I think about it, this is similar to a demonic beast¡¯s evolution. There are two things needed for a beast¡¯s evolution. The first requirement is to have a key of some sort, for me it must have been my key necklace. The second requirement is that the demonic beast must be going through an extreme emotional, which for me must have been Abby¡¯s death. No matter how much I look at it I just went through an evolution. *Sigh* Unfortunately I can not achieve that power again because that power only comes forth when a beast is evolving and it is absorbing the mana from the earth at an alarming rate, allowing a major temporary boost of power. In fact, it is a well known rule not to ever approach a demonic beast when it¡¯s evolving, because it will lose all reason and it will have a lot of power solely dedicated to wiping you off the face of the world. Hmm¡ I can¡¯t exactly leave the cave looking like a demonic being. Let''s see if I can do something about it. I focus on my previous appearance and slowly I see my horns start to retract into my head and my hair do back to it¡¯s blond color. Ahaa! I had my theory when demonic beings would be able to sneak into the human kingdoms, but I could never confirmed by theory. Now I have learned how to do this little trick, it is time to see the aftermath. Taking a deep breath, I take a step outside of my cave and quickly fly towards the old battleground. What lie before me when I arrived was a massive amount of bodies belonging to the Heavenly Sun Sect, and about ? of our sect¡¯s disciples dead bodies being buried. I fly over to Maria, who is in the process of comforting Tyler. I walk over to them and place my hand on Tyler¡¯s shoulder. This is all I can do to comfort him right now. I look over at Maria and tell her something that has been on my mind for a while now. [Me] ¡°Maria, I plan on leaving the sect, and you should do so as well. I am going to adventure and see all the sights that the world has to offer while gaining enough power to protect whats mine. You should take Tyler and join another sect. In doing so you will gain power and safety.¡± Maria, probably still in shock, could do nothing but mutely nod. Abby was also a friend of Maria¡¯s, so it is only natural. Sighing I turn around and start searching for an elder. It takes me about half an hour until I find one, however when I find him, he starts his speech from the stage he is upon. [Elder] ¡°Attention all disciples! From here on out the Silver Sword Sect is officially disbanded! Due to major conflict with all major sect we will no longer be considered a sect! You are now able to join other sects or go off on your own! Remember, get strong not for arrogance but for others! That is all!¡± That solves my problem. I start flying to the south of the sect and look back one last time at the sect. The sect that is no more, the sect that I became something else. Eyes still a little moist, I fly away¡ never to return again. Chapter 19: Sage Kenja Southern Lands (Demon Kingdom) ----------???¡¯s POV---------- *Snap* *Sigh* [Me] ¡°I swear¡ this bucket is too fragile.¡± I look over at my now broken bucket. It is made of pure steel, and probably weighs about 10 pound without any water. It is one of my more light and delicate things. How did it break? Simple. I smashed in a demonic boar''s head in with it. [Marly] ¡°Chirp. Chirp.¡± [Me] ¡°Yeah, yeah. The darn thing got in my way though.¡± [Marly] ¡°Chirp.¡± [Me] ¡°Shut up. What do you know? You''re just a bird! ...Wait¡ why am I talking to a bird anyways???¡± Shrugging it off, I take up the pieces of my broken bucket and head back to my cabin. As I was heading back Marly, can¡¯t remember why I ever named a bird, landed on my one good horn. My other horn was broken off in the last serious battle I took part in. The cabin nears my view and then suddenly I see a bright light tumbling down towards my humble home...fastly. [Me] ¡°Nononononononononono¡ Wind Barrier!!!¡± As the object bounces off my sheil it travels at high speed towards the forest. It mows down a few trees before coming to a complete stop. [Me] ¡°Fufufu¡ if I had been just a little more late that could have been a disastrous mess to clean up!!!¡± If the object had reached my cabin then it would have shattered and lodged it¡¯s pieces all over the surrounding and into the trees! The poor trees would not have handled it!! As I am stroking my short beard it occurs to me that my action has also cause some trees deaths. Oh well~ ...I wonder what was traveling at high speeds towards my home anyway. I take a few steps and travel at high speed right in front of the object. [Me] ¡°...¡± What¡ WHAT IN THE DEVIL''S NAME IS THIS!?!?!? Right in front of me is a cute little demon with pitch black hair and horns. She has slightly pale skin and is somehow still alive. I guess I should have checked to see if the object was a living being¡ but seriously.. How does someone that young survive that?!?! Even with her multiple injuries she still breaths¡ Fufufu it would be fun to train her¡ a malice grin appears upon my face as my eyes brighten at the sight of my new toy. ¡¡¡.A few moments earlier¡¡¡. ---------Luna¡¯s POV---------- [Me] ¡°Why¡ why won''t you go AWAY?!¡± I am currently fighting a demonic flame hawk¡ in the sky. Due to using my mana to fly so that I don¡¯t have to go around the large forest I am running slightly low on mana. I enhanced my sword with mana once again and started to go on the offensive. I have long since went to my demonic form in order just to keep up with this beast. I feel a claw strike my cheek and it pushes me back a few feet. Tch. I need to finish this soon. I already know I can¡¯t win, this is a tier 18 beast and is considered a descendant of the phoenix. Ironic isn''t it? A fire blast scorches my backside and I cough up a mouthful of blood. Wiping my mouth, I hold my sword in an defensive matter. I use my swords to protect my body from too much harm from the talons and beak of the beast while I use my mana to cast spells to attack the beast. I get a couple more scratches and suddenly feel faint. I become drowsy and before I pass out I throw my sword at the best while boosting it with my wind. I smirk as it hits the demonic flame hawk¡¯s eye and then my vision goes black. The last thing going through my mind is ¡®...I was still in the air¡¯. ¡¡¡.A little later¡¡¡. [Me] ¡°Mmmm¡± I open my blurry eyes and clear them. Looking down at myself I notice that my body has healed from most of my injuries. It also did not escape my notice as to how I am in a foreign room, nor how I suddenly have a mana limiter on my neck sporting the look of a collar. [?] ¡°Ahh¡ so you have awakened.¡± I look to my left and see an elderly-looking demon. He have white hair and one of his horns seem to be broken in half. He also had a pointy tail coming from his backside His tail was thin until the tip which was shaped like an arrow head. [Me] ¡°Who are you, where is this, and why has there been a mana limiter placed on me?¡± If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. [?] ¡°Fufufu, calm down child. I am Sage Kenja, and you are in my humble home. The reason I have placed a mana limiter on you is because I have taken you as my disciple.¡± [Me] ¡°I have not accepted anyone as my teacher, and how does a mana limiter equal your disciple?!¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°The first thing we are focusing on is your physical strength, and that matters as much as your tier.¡± [Me] ¡°I HAVE NOT ACCEPTED A TEACHER.¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°Also, I would not recommend trying to escape or else¡¡± [Me] ¡°... you''re insane¡± [Sae Kenja] ¡°Your training has already begun.¡± [Me] ¡°...¡± *Grumble* [Sage Kenja] ¡°Fufufu¡ it seems as if my disciple is hungry. Come, we will eat!¡± Knowing that I am unable to fight back or even escape if I tried I just decided to follow him. [Sage Kenja] ¡°Oh, and I would recommend getting changed into that pair of clothes¡± He walked out and closed the door behind him. I look down upon myself and notice that although my body healed, my clothes had no such feature¡ they were in ribbons, bloody ones at that. I take them off and inspect my new clothing. They were extremely heavy and I about fell over while holding them. Just what were they made of?! I painstakingly put them on and am still surprisingly standing. Is he trying to kill me?! I walk towards the door and each step causes my feet to wobble. I am not weak, in fact I can actually be considered somewhat strong, but this me me feel as if I were more feeble than a normal rabbit. As soon as I reached the door I twisted the handle and pulled¡ and pulled¡ and pulled. Even in my weakened state I should be strong enough to open a simple door¡ unless¡ this door was like the clothes. Crud. *Grumble* [Me] ¡°SAGE KENJA! I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU SO KINDLY OPENED THE DOOR!!!¡± I then see the door opening and Sage Kenja looked at me as if amused. [Sage Kenja] ¡°Fumu? Are you too weak to open a simple door?¡± [Me] ¡°That door is not simple¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°Well it is a tad heavier than normal doors¡¡± [Me] ¡°A tad?¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°It''s only a few tons *Cough* ...a few pounds extra¡± [Me] ¡°...¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°...anyway come and eat.¡± I followed him into his dining room and went to my chair. After a couple trys of trying to pull out the chair I gave a pointed look at Sage Kenja. [Sage Kenja] ¡°Fine¡ *Sigh* youngsters can''t do anything themselves these days¡± Nonetheless he got up and pulled out my chair for me. I sat down and struggled with the spoon. How does a spoon weigh so much?! I manage to hold it, and I used it to drink my soup. When I was finished eating I went directly to bed, ignoring the sage¡¯s protests about having me help out with the dishes. I could barely manage the spoon, what makes you think I can manage the bowl, or even the pot for that matter?! *Sigh* So this is what he meant by my training has already started...I REALLY hope that I can survive this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author¡¯s Note: Just some extra information in case you are curious. Demons do not have demonic cores, only demonic beasts do. Also, demons have no problems killing demonic beasts since they are two entirely different races. Just a little fun fact in case you were confused! Chapter 20: Training? Southern Lands (Demon Kingdom) *Chirp* *Chirp* *Yawn* I stretch my arms above my head as I yawn. My arms are extremely heavy and my blanket is no joke either. My muscles are slightly protesting at this unfair treatment, however my regeneration rate is luckley keeping them from getting too sore. I shuffle out of bed and wobbly stand up on the floor. Getting changed from my pajamas into my clothing was difficult, and I honestly wonder how Sage Kenja has clothing my size. I¡¯ll ask him during breakfast. Wobbling out of the open door I go into the kitchen and sit down. Sage Kenja then puts my food in front of me and begins to eat. He ignores my struggles to cut the food with the heavy fork I was given. [Sage Kenja] ¡°Soooo¡ how was your sleep?¡± [Me] ¡°Horrible. I could turn if I was uncomfortable and I constantly felt as if gravity was against me due to the blanket.¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°Fufufu¡ is that so?¡± I choose to ignore that statement and asked a question that came into mind earlier. [Me] ¡°So, how do you have clothing that perfectly fit me?¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°Oh that? All I did was make them while you were sleeping.¡± [Me] ¡°...and how did you get my measurements?¡± [Sage Kenja] ¡°It wasn¡¯t hard to tell, after all you only had ribbons on when I found you¡¡± I glare at him intensly as he explains himself. He looked that detailed on me while I was unconscious¡ [Me] ¡°Pervert.¡± [Sa---Pervert] ¡°Call me what you will for now~¡± Coldly looking at hi I finish off my plate and start heading back to my room when suddenly I feel Pervert¡¯s hand on my shoulder. [Pervert] ¡°And where do you think your going?¡± [Me] ¡°...To my room.¡± [Pervert] ¡°No, you will do dishes.¡± [Me] ¡°I can¡¯t pick up those dishes.¡± [Pervert] ¡°Then find a way.¡± He then smiled as he shut the door to my room and left the house. I sigh, resigning to my fate and begin the simple yet complex task of doing the dishes. Each dish took me about half an hour not including silverware which took me five minutes and the pan while took me the entire hour. In the end I was finished in about three hours and ten minutes. Pervert choose that time to come back and notice the clean dishes. He inspected them and smiled. [Pervert] ¡°Now you get to sweep the floors.¡± ARE YOU A SLAVE DRIVER?!?! I glare at him once more as I pick up the broom¡ and then drop it. My arms about broke trying to lift that thing!!! I send a panicked glance towards Pervert, but he does not seem to care. He leaves the house once more and I am left alone once again. I pick up the broom and do my best to sweep the floors. I must say, I am glad that the floor is sturdy, or else one would notice the many, many times I dropped the broom. I am also thankful to my regeneration once again. Did I also mention how this raised me a tier? Household chore raised me a tier!!! There is something wrong with this!!! That day Pervert had me do a multitude of chores that had my body scream in pain. *Sigh* He really is evil. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. ----------A few months later---------- For some reason Master has called me in the living room. Yes, you heard right, Master. He started handing out punishments for each time he was not called as such. He said that since I was his disciple and he was my master he needed to be called as such. I have gotten used to the environment and Master has even made me do pushups and other workout related activities. Walking into the living room Master his sitting on the couch sipping his tea. I sit down on the other couch and he looks over at me. [Master] ¡°So, I called you here to warn you that I am turning the gravity field back on.¡± [Me] ¡°Gravity field? Back on?¡± [Master] ¡°Ahh, yes. I used to always have a gravity field on, but since you arrived I was afraid that it would crush you so I turned it off. Don¡¯t worry, it will slowly power on by each day. It will rise by 10% each day until it reaches 100%.¡± [Me] ¡°How much is 100%?¡± [Master] ¡°Well, here it goes!¡± [Me] ¡°Wait!¡± I was too late as suddenly I feel a large force upon me forcing me to the ground. I am now reminded of when I first got here, only it''s now a little worse. I try to get upon my hands and knees and when I finally succeed Master had already left the house. ...and this is only 10%? ---------- 2 months later ---------- I finally have gotten used to the dumb gravity that has been bothering me for some time. I am now performing life as I used to befor Master decided to turn on the gravity field. [Master] ¡°Disciple!!! Come in here!!!¡± [Me] *Sigh* ¡°Coming!¡± I enter the kitchen and Master is there waiting while sipping his tea. For some reason this gives me a sense of d¨¦j¨¤ vu. I walk towards master and sit in a chair right across from him. [Master] ¡°Stand.¡± Hmm¡ he is acting strange, but I will do as he says for now¡ As I am standing Master pulls out four bracelet looking things. Please tell me those aren''t what I think they are. They look suspiciously like power limiters but just a tad different. Power limiters are mainly used on strong criminals so that they can¡¯t do anything against their captors. Master quickly applies them on my arms and legs. I suddenly feel all the power leave my body and my mana as well. So that''s what is different!!! These are equipt with mana drainers as well! Hahahahaha¡ this sucks. As one could guess, I fell down unto my hands and knees and started sweating heavily. By now I am sure! Master is a sadist! He is looking down at me and smiling. That sadist! [Master] ¡°What? Sheesh, and that''s the lowest setting¡¡± ...WHAT?! ----------3 months later---------- Yes! I am finally used to the lowest setting! As I jump up in excitement Master comes around the corner. He is looking at me strangely, as a predator would his prey¡ [Master] ¡°Your real training starts now.¡± My what. Chapter 21: The Final Fight Author¡¯s Note: I would like to point out a certain problem that has been mentioned by a few readers. There has been an issue with Luna¡¯s past life being a scholar, yet in this life she acts more¡ immature. I understand how this may irritate some people, however I also feel as if this is a necessity. If you remember Luna is still in her youth in this life, so in reality even if she is reincarnated it is natural to still have a childish aurora. I understand that this thought process is different from many readers and writers alike, so it may cause some irritation. I also have a problem with her scholarly mind. I am unused to writing from a scholar¡¯s perspective, and am unable to morph my mind to that of a scholar''s that quickly. I apologise for any problems this may cause. If you would be kind and patient enough, I would love it if you could point out some things I could have done differently as well as if you know any books I could take reference from. Thanks a bunch! __________________________________________________________________________ ----------Luna (8 years old)---------- It¡¯s been strange these past years. Master has been having me eliminate several different types of demonic beasts as well as overcome his occasional trials. These trails range from standing in lava as long as I can to convincing the wolves that I am one of them. The first thing was able to be done due to harshly allowing my body to get used to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold). The second one was a little more complex. I had to arrange my perpheromes to that of a female wolf, and then I had to learn how to communicate and follow wolf orders. [Master] ¡°Oi! Stop zoning out over there! You need to get all the nutrients that you can in order to pass your test!¡± [Me] ¡°I know, I know¡± I eat my salad and then move on to my steak. As I sit there chewing my food, I think of how it got to this point. *Flashback* [Master] ¡°Ahh¡ It seems as if you are ready.¡± [Me] ¡°Ready for what?¡± [Master] ¡°Your final test.¡± I see Master¡¯s eye twitch as he lifts his hand to scratch his temple. He often does this if he is nervous or stressed. [Me] ¡°What exactly is this test?¡± [Master] ¡°This test is a final battle. A final battle between master and disciple. Should you pass you will no longer be my disciple, and you will be ready for the world.¡± I gulp and calm my nerves. My final test is approaching and I must be at my best. I will complete this task and head to the Kingdom of the Sun. Once there I will look for the one who started this¡ the one who started the war against Blood Elves. The one who pressured my kingdom to kill their princess. The one who holds many innocent lives on their hands. I will find them, and I will exact vengeance upon them in name of all who perished. *End of flashback* Master and I head out to the large backyard to fight. Master¡¯s face twitches, and his fists are clenched tightly. My hands are tightening and relaxing simultaneously, and I cast a worried look towards my master. Today is my last day with him, and only if I pass can I leave with Master truly in peace. [Master] ¡°Be ready!¡± I rush to meet Master¡¯s rush of mana, and cut it with my wind blade. When the dust begins to clear I notice that Master smirk and disappear. I always hated his teleportation ability. I lift a hand and examine the mana patterns in the air to predict where he will land. Quickly, I swing a series of slashes towards an irregular pattern of mana. Master appears and quickly brings up an earth wall, blocking all but a few of my attacks. The few attacks faze out upon hitting his mana armor, and I watch as Master jumps back and pulls out his twin daggers. Now he¡¯s serious. Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! He rushes at me and I face him head on. Master dodges most of my attacks and comes into striking range. He lands a few cuts on me before I scurry away. There is no way I can win like this. I can¡¯t meet his attacks head on. I bend down and apply mana pressure to my anklets, and they fall down leaving a large cloud of dust. I bring my hands to my wrists and they too add to the cloud of dust, leaving imprints in the sand. Once again I lift my hands and bring them to my neck. The necklace / mana liminter falls down to the ground and I feel light on my feet as well as an enormous amount of mana enter me. Here I come. I feel Master¡¯s mana behind me and I turn to match him. This time I end up pushing Master a few feet away, and I ready my stance to meet his. I charge at him and slash at the air, causing a windblade to head in his direction. He responded by blocking them with another earth wall while firing fire arrows at me. I send a minni title wave his way, effectively blocking the fire arrows and attacking. I feel heat above me, and I dodge the many fireballs falling upon me. I am left with an arm slightly blistering and then returning back to normal. My natural regeneration has grown tremendously, mostly due to the extreme training Master put me through. *Shudder* I turned and dropped my duel blades, replacing them with my assassin knifes. While my primary weapon is my swords, with Master¡¯s current way of fighting I have the highest chance of winning if I use my knifes. I used the wind to propel me quickly towards Master¡¯s location. Swiftly I slice at any vulnerable spots I could find, causing many gashes to appear on his skin. I am then struck with his blades and go flying backwards. My left arm is temporarily crippled where I defended myself from his attack. I lunge at him once more, but instead of going all the way I use a mixture of wind and fire to create high powered flame arrows that rotate and lock on to their target. Seven of the arrows are blocked with a high density water wall, while the other ten burrow into the skin. Master¡¯s brows clench together in pain before his regeneration kicks into effect. No way am I leaving this opportunity untook. Once again taking the lead, I send many wind slashes in his direction and use a mixture of earth and wind to move at tremendous speeds towards his back. I immediately get up close and aim my dagger at his throat and then stopping all movement. [Me] ¡°Haa...haa....haa¡ got you.¡± [Master] ¡°Haa...haa...do you really?¡± Looking down I see his blade facing my stomach, and I push it away by borrowing the power of the earth. He uses this opportunity to use a firewall to create distance between us, and I once again find myself strategizing. After a moment''s hesitation I seen a fire shape towards the wall that resembles me, and move around to the side. As soon as Master sees the fire creation he slashes at it, noticing too late that it was not me. I sneak around behind him and lunge towards him. Turning around at incredible timing he matches my strict with one of his own and backs up a few steps. Lunging at him, I duck to avoid an attack towards my head and strike at his midsection. My aim leads true, forcing him to double over and I once again aim at his throat. This time he has no blade pointed against me, and my win is clear. [Master] ¡°Haa...haa...you did good, my disciple¡± [Me] ¡°Haa...haa¡. Thanks, you put up quite a fight for your age¡¡± [Master] ¡°Haa...are you implying that I¡¯m old?¡± [Me] ¡°Haa...haa¡ never¡¡± [Master] ¡°Let''s head in for the night¡¡± [Me] ¡°...alright.¡± We head inside, and I collapse in my bed with my limiters back in place. I get the feeling that something big is on its way, and it''s not waiting for me.
