《Chronicles of Heroes: The White-Fire Covenant》 Prologue The white haired titan.
The Dragon continent was recorded for the first time nearly 1200 years ago. Inhabited only by few barbarians, its conquest should have been easy. But the struggle between the different kingdoms, empires and others hegemony slowed it down quite a lot. But the true impending factor was the wild life. Dragons were known, the Drakin land for example had quite a number. But there, a lot of pioneer said that the number was insane. Not only the number but the diversity, intelligent or not, They ranged between those not bigger than your palm, to those of somethinf like 100 meter. The bigger Ikriss''Krax''Rimak was estimated to have nearly 300 meter long body! Extract of ¡°The Dragon continent¡± by the [Covenant of the Blue-fire]
She heaved a sigh of relief. The tomb before her, in the far west corner of the cemetery was small, only a box with ashes was in after all. her blue iced colour right hand on the stone, stroking it slowly. She had no tears, not any-more. For a moment she asked herself if she was a monster, she was relieved her grand mother had finally passed away. But after that thought, she knew she wasn''t. The pain, at the end, was nearly unbearable and her loving grandmother was beginning to slowly turning insane because of it. With a last stroke, she took the bag, she wouldn''t go back in their house anymore. She let her hand down, and turn to exit the cemetery and her town. She had an hour or so before the departure, so she slowly strolled for the last time, looking at what was her ¡°home¡±. The dark-red wooden walls where making quite a sight. She looked up often, the second floor were always more decorated, even with just some flower. Only the kids, were saying her goodbye, some even shed a few tears, for she was the one who read them stories the most. The paper lantern weren''t lit, the day was young but the sun quite high already, the hot season was slowly beginning to take it place. She stopped near the gate, and turn left entering in the small garden of the shrine. Passing under the tori she soon stop before the little ¡°house¡±. Always open, there weren''t enough place for an adult in, the small glossy roof protecting the sacred object against weathering wasn''t towering her, she too wasn''t taller. She let the bag down, and kneeling on the straw mat, she prayed for a event-less travel. Soon after she was in sight of the caravan. She was lucky they were here, the town was quite away of the highway and they weren''t the regular one too. Finding the master was quite simple, towering nearly 2m and half, the big muscular full grey wolf therianthrope was the biggest, largest, and probably strongest here. Grey mane, a wolf like head with aged golden eyes, the tip of his right ear missing was ordering around with a powerful baritone voice. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. As the small titan was looking around, he looked at her once again, stroking his small beard, clearly puzzled by her departure. The titan was young-looking, moreover she was small for a titan, maybe not even 1m80. Her blue iced skin, was quite contrasting with her dark brown leather armor, boots, wristband and grey travel garb. The two sword; he wasn''t sure what they were exactly, looked a bit small for katana; but they were visibly used, so she should not be a distressed damsel. Her face wasn''t bad, small hero nose, small lips, two horn ¡°weaving¡± gently making a right angle with each other on an oval head, yes she wasn''t bad, but certainly not the top beauty. But what puzzled him the most where her hair and eyes. The pure silver hair where shiny like the real thing, and her eyes seems like small silver blue ¡°stars¡± floating in a pure deep black night. That was a first, even at his age, and having wandered for nearly 40 years he had never seen eyes like that. No white, no iris, no pupil, just the deep black night where the stars shine. Beautiful and disturbing. And now those eyes where suddenly focus on him, no not suddenly he thought. Turning her back to him, she started to go to the said carriage. Two powerful 2 m tall draught horses, with strong and wide legs, one brindled dark bay coat with a with socking on the front legs, the other a salt ant pepper grey. Petting them on the head, a young white tiger girl stood, looking at the titan shortly after master had shown the carriage. A small smile on the lips, the small therianthrope was studying the one approaching with evident interest. A little bit smaller than the titan, she had a very human appearance. But the deep black stripes all other her snow-white body, her stripe tail, and her cute little snow white ears at the top of her head clearly said otherwise. She was cute, small turn-up nose, little but full lip, high cheek, big expressive eyes. Coming closer, the truth of her eyes could be see. Both her iris seems light ice shard put together, but there colour wasn''t the same. Deep blue for the right one, a little bit lighter on the inside, and a beautiful gold yellow with the exterior more orange for the other. Probably struck by the startling eyes of the other, both stood silent a metre or so between them. Master Chen who was organising something had is eyes attracted by the silent duo. He stood there looking at them for a few second before going away shaking his head a wry smile showing. After something like a minute or so, one of them remember her manners. The other showed a big bright smile before answering. Before the two could continue, a powerful voice was heard. The travel was beginning. Description of the differente "species". Salutation! I''ll write hear a description of the "species" when encounter in the stories. I have a few reason for those: I want to say one thing more before. I''m trying to have a "world" logical (as far as supernatural thing are logical!) evolving, and with some realism. So you''ll see some very large difference (most likely see with the therianthrope). Yes did you ever ask yourself want kind of child an elf and an dwarf will have? Or for my example, a therianthrope (thin of a were-wolf/tiger and so on) with a human. I want a world open, and that''s one possibility so i''ll do that. (even if i don''t know how i''ll do it in my tabletop RPG^^) And so the more a therianthrope have human (or other) blood the more they like like them to the point of having just the ears and/or tail. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. The Titan: They are quite tall between 1m80 and 2m30; Their skin colour range between blue, green or red, but not like tint than a flashy paint. Their horn grow on the frontside or their forehead and goes for most on the side like Tomoe, or to the back. Their hair have often the same colour that their skin but darker, and often curly. They have a tail, smooth round, with no spike or anything. They have bridle eyes whose iris have metallic colour (copper, silver, gold etc) with the metallic glean. Their body is quite slim for their heigh, but not so much to. (80 to 130 kg) Their civilisation look a lot to the Japanese on. wooden house with sliding paper door (fire resistant of course, if they can!), shrine, honor is very important and so on. The Therianthrope. they looks like "were" in hybrid form: Their civilisation is more like the Chinese one (Yes Titan and Therianthrope came from the same continent). Chapter 1: Little warriors Salutation! Quite a long chapter for the first, or so i think, we''ll see how much i can write in the future. If you see mistake help me correct them. Someone had said that my bullet point wasn''t needed, and yes they aren''t i just want to make easier to differentiated between narration and speaks. and i don''t think it''s a bother no? Bah... thanks for reading! ______________________________________________ Chapter One : Little warriors Hearing master Chen, they looked at each others before going in the carriage. Xia He burst laughing with that answer soon followed by the titan. And so travelling not totally at the rear guard, the two young women where chatting, beginning to bond. The plan was to travel for a month to the city of M¨´ L¨¸s¨¨, nearly 600km away in the north-east. In this early spring the trip, even in this giant forest was pleasant. The huge ancient trees spread a wonderful cover to the sun, but there was largely enough light for the smaller trees and bush could live. So, brown trunks and green foliages cut those reddish-brown wooden tower, with here and there a glade or one pure grayish white colossal trunk. The wild life, who could hear them long in advance, were but all hidden; if not for the birds and some fearless one who looked at them passing with a somewhat ¡°indifferent interest¡±. This huge forest, spawning on more or less half of the Qi-Zhen Empire, the homeland of the majority of therianthrope, and a big chunk of Tomoe''s homeland too, was the biggest on this continent and probably of the know world. So, as the majority of the caravan was of one of the Empire, things were going smoothly and with more speed than normal; after all the carriage themselves were made for this forest. For more than 10 days the trip was nearly uneventful, and somewhat boring. Tomoe and Xia He where often chatting with one or the other leading the cart. In fact it was more Xia He chitchat and prattle, with Tomoe occasional answer or comment. But for some reason both were content with that, not that the tiger girl loved her voice so much, but Tomoe smart and witty remark, and more than once, sarcastic sting made her day. Her laughter could often be heard a few carriage away. More than once too, Tomoe read aloud, for her, one or another passage from a book, even complete chapters at times. At night both talk a lot with others, and even with her strange eyes Tomoe was quite popular, which her new friend made fun of. She was loved too, by the few child, more than often reading them bed stories. As she was also often helping; searching for burning wood, setting the camp, taking care of the horses and other small things; she was asked by Master Chen to take Xia He job. Strangely (or not) the little one heard it and rush to beat the wolf-man to ground. Of course, he took it laughing, and let her trip him; or was he unable to truly defend himself? His safety (or not as he nearly died laughing) was by the hand of the other concerned one. She made herself the fury''s target as she said ¡°why not¡±. On the twelfth day early in the morning they were awakened by the same two little girls who slept with them. Of course it was nothing urgent, just nature''s call. Taking the midget some tenth meter away from the guard on duty, Xia He with the enhanced sense of her race spot something of. As she said that a small group a ten mismatch men in poorly kept gear got could be see. The men said nothing, but their perverted smile were enough. As they came near the girls, the two took of at the same time even without one making a signal. As they run to the two nearest men they reveal their weapon they had concealed behind their back. Seemingly loosing her footing, and falling forward, Tomoe took the bandits by surprise, the fall was calculated, and with this long step she came closer to him in a low stance. Putting all her power in her right leg she got up with her sword doing a beautiful arc upward to the left. Meeting only a piece of leather armour as resistance the first blood was split, with a gash from just above the hip to the neck, splitting the artery. Next with a diagonal step she turn her blade downward and cut a second one as neatly as the first in a diagonal. A third one seeing two friend being cut, tried to attack her, but his haste due to the surprise attack took the better of him. She evade the hight cut and used his movement to cut his belly in a counter. At the same time, Xia He took literally of, jumping above the nearest man. As she came down she revealed her claws, but their size were frightening, even Master Chen one were smaller. In fact all her hand had grown a bit. Before her foot touch the ground she slashed diagonally the one before her from neck to hip. But she wasn''t finished, crouching as she came down; she put power in one leg as she get up, turning to the one behind her. He had not move at all, having unexpectedly lost track of her, and so she open his back, slashing his spine in the process. As Tomoe, her next victim tried to attack her, albeit he tried to pin her with his short sword. Making a half turn she let his neck meet her claw as his sword was piercing nothing, 10 centimetre away from her stomach. Putting some strength in her arm she shred his neck into a bloody mess. So in just a few second, 6 of the ten guy were down. And the two teenage girls; or so they thought they were; nearly at the same time, turn to them just 3 or 4 meter away. One was smiling childishly with her ears twitching and a flapping tail, the second was expressionless, as if they weren''t even worth something. Fear crippled them, will rage possessed them, affecting their decision, and disturbing their capacity. So with a roar they launched themselves at the girls. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. It took even less than ten second before four more slashed body fall on the earth. Without loosing their tension, the two girls search for some other, before turning to the camp. After checking they run to the camp making a small detour by their thing, one to take her second kodachi, the other having already return her hand to normal, took her clawed gauntlet. And so they came to help the guard. Not that it was necessary, but one could see they had some annoyance to discharge. Seeing they could, they run a bit in the forest before returning and be behind the group of bandit. Launching themselves in the battle both keeping close to each other. No one had seen them as the closed by, so they took every one by surprise. Spread other the entire length of the caravan that they had surround, a hundredth attacker were not fending very well even if they were a bit more than twice the defender. As they took them in the back defenceless, and in a few moment four more met lost their life. But before they could go on, a loud roar erupt. Looking at each other, they nod and begun to run to its origin. Upon closing on the figure of master Chen, four men were engaged with him. From their movement to their gear, they were clearly at an other level, and were probably the chiefs. The big wolf-man was obviously the biggest threat so they had gang him up, but they could just put him on the defensive and the fight was dragging on. Tomoe put a hand on her friend arm as they approached and forced her to slow down, meeting a very angry scowl. Xia He looked at the expression of her friend. She saw knowledge of her attachment to the big wolf, and her fear for her. She look to him, seeing they were just ten meter away, and seeing to he wasn''t in a dangerous situation. Just a deadlock, and others would take too much time to help. She took a very deep breath calming her, and judging the four enemy therianthropes. Two wolf, a rat, and a bull one; they looked carefully, trying to judge their skill from their stance, the way they moved, their attack and defence. In the ten or twenty seconds they looked they had understood one thing, they were quite good, but it was their number that permit the deadlock, not their skill. At the same time each said ¡°I take the wolf on the left/right¡± and with a wink they rushed in the battle. The rat saw two shadow rushing behind his friends and warned them, allowing a quick escape of the two. Chen looked at them a second, smiling before pointing his large flambard to the other two with a broad smile, and rush at them. Tomoe''s adversary had a broad sword in hand and a wooden shield with a dented metal plating. His studded leather armor looked quite well maintained with just a few rust spot, and when he saw her, scorn and lust flashed on his face. Tomoe said nothing, she prefered to let the steel speak. She covered the distance in a moment, inverting the grip on right blade, the mune(1) leaning against her forearm. He grin seeing her shifting to a defensive handling and raised his blade to strike her. Just before coming in contact she took a step to his right and blocked his blade with her left one and with a twisting half-step ahead, striked sideway with her right one. Taken by surprise he could just weakened the hit with the side of his shield. Blood begins to flow from above his hips while he put some distance between them cursing her. She didn''t let him change the pace, rushed at him lowering her stance. Like before, she took a step left, he was expecting she would use the same thing again, like so many of the young one. So he took a step side way to put some distance will putting power in his sword to keep her in place. At the same time he strike t her undefended side with his shield to stun her. But that was her trap, when coming at him she had reversed her right grip back to ¡°normal¡± using it to block his sword and used the recoil of the block turn her body. She exposed her back to him, letting is blade overpowered her. But that only served her purpose, and give her more centrifugal force. At the clash, seeing his movement, she had begun to change the grip of her other sword, so when she finish her turn her sword was meant to pierce him on his back. Sadly, for him, he was a bit unbalanced, and her sword only slashed his right shoulder but that only meant more pain and struggle, his sword arm limp on his side. He could only curse her, as she striked his shield and she pierced his guts at the same time. Then exalting his last breath he understood, he clearly underestimated her. Not only she wasn''t as young as her face and height could let someone think, but that ¡°defensive¡± stance of the nito-ryu style was her preferred one, and one not defensive, but offensive with the teaching of her dojo. Having finished her opponent she scan her surrounding for threat before looking at Xia. Xia He opponent had the same armor but used two dagger. Hearing is partner speaking to Tomoe his lewd smile increased, but it froze when she replied. She was shaking her head as she spoke, but rush to him when finished. Cursing her , he struck as soon as possible, only to be parried the plate of her gauntlet backhand. She tried to punch him in the face at the same time, which he evade easily but that was a feint on her side to block his line sight. With a movement of her wrist she grab his and tug at it. The sudden traction on his arm wreak his timing for his second strike which only brushed against her skin. Still keeping her grip she took advantage of her small stature and passed under his arm and punch his elbow on the underside. He shouted as his arm took a wrong angle, pain surging, disabling him for a moment. She didn''t let her assault stop, tugging sideway on his arm as she mowed down his leg, tripping him. She let his weight pull her to finish him down by elbowing his neck. Satisfied with the breaking sound she look around while she got up, to be surprised another time by the sword proficiencies her friend was showing. That even took the better of her as she forget to look around for threat. Had she not she would have seen the small ferocious smile of Chen at the sight of Tomoe leading the ruffians by the nose. Soon after Tomoe turned to look at her friend, to see a flash in her eyes locked on her. She tremble a little for the first time but not in fear, that she was sure, but she didn''t really had the time to grasp her feeling. Both turn her eyes to where the other battle should have been to see only two... no, four therianthrope part, likely to be of two corpse. Coming closer to each other they search for the towering wolf to see him helping the other on one side slaughtering happily the bandits. With dry laughter on Xia He part, they rush to help the other side. A few minute after every thing was finished. On the caravan side only a few small cut and bruise, if not for one lucky strike which struck a guard in the stomach. But that was nothing the healers couldn''t save, even if he was grounded for few days the sword having pierced one kidney. The loot wasn''t much, but would be welcome, and distribute evenly to all who took part in the battle. A little more than one hour and half after the attack, as the sun was up and they were all ready to go.
(1) the mune is the back of the blade. And if you wonder why i don''t just say it, why should i when their is a word for it! (and i love japanese!) Chapter 2 : Two jumpy and blushy girls Salutation! I though it would be a short "interlude" but... At the end things turned like this without my knowledge... strange isn''t it? Help me exterminate those vicious, evil, eyes piercing and mind crushing this know as "mistake"! Please^^ ______________________________________
¡°Everybody knows that our world is more that meet the eyes. Magic is the most know phenomena and the most commonly recognised. But by no mean it is the only one, nor the most understood. It is a fact that we basically know so little on those phenomenon, that a lot of researcher says that we knows ¡°nothing¡±. In this book I will share what is known and some of the most common and/or accepted point which aren''t proved. The point of sharing those ideas is to broaden you mind as some are quite incompatible but not without interest nor without basis. The first of the three chapter will be focus on Magic.¡± Excerpt of ''The power of the Individual'' By Aranus Pracelius, ArchMagistere of King Stroncius IV.
______________________________________ This morning after the attack the mood was a little strange. Specifically for the two girls. You have to understand that both were in quite difficult ¡°position¡±. First Xia He, in the beginning she had shown a power quite unbelievable. Not that there aren''t any magic to change the shape of object of living being; through those a rare. But the lack of chant, magical focus, nor real magical potential; if her friend was able to sense it; was the critical aspect. Yes some people could cast some magic without chant but certainly not something as hard as a partial but stable modification of a part of a living being with no after effect. And so, quite simply, not every one was accepting those sorts of capacity. As for Tomoe, yes she was interest by that capacity of her friend. She was just intrigued; as said before because of her eyes, she knew personally quite well the life of someone who was not like the other; so there was no way she would do the same to her friend. But, and probably because of her past life as someone "strange"; she didn''t know how to not hurt her friend, and she was clealy aware of Xia He discomfort! Not only that, but you had to add the fact that the titan had killed for the first time, and not just one person! And obviously she wasn''t someone who could just shake it like that. So she herself wasn''t comfortable; plus she, of course, didn''t had a good night. So for two hours or so they were silent, both aware that was completely abnormal for the other but simply unable to start a conversation. And with that silence, grew their discomfort and their fear. The first who spoke was Xia He who couldn''t take it any more, she had realise that this friendship was too unique and important. Not that she wasn''t friend with the other people in the caravan, but simply none were of her age and the nearest were all male. So... Tomoe, turn with a shocked expression for a few second before bursting out laughing, which made Xia He pout. That time it was Xia He whose face shown disbelief before bursting out laughing while hugging Tomoe. As she said that, face turn ahead she put glances at her neighbourhood. And when the uneasy girl had finally done it she continued. With the scowl of Tomoe she understood, and laugh awkwardly. Xia He didn''t know what to answer, and before she fumbled herself because she was rushing for one, she heard a soft voice tinted with pain. And that was all they said that morning, but each time they change who had the reins they exchange their ¡°head positioning¡± too. Noon came with a rest, and they had more or less regain their ¡°easygoing¡± mood. The afternoon passed silently between the two but the atmosphere was much better. That night like each other they were sleeping near each other, but none could sleep. Xia He rapidly couldn''t take the awkwardness of Tomoe and said softly but forcefully This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.Xia He a smile bloom on her lips open her arms and blanket. Without missing a bit and blushing Tomoe came in taking her blanket too. And they sleep without another word. Both had a really good sleep that night, so good that they were woken up by the ¡°soft and gentle¡± voices of Master Chen, which could probably had woken up a hibernating deaf bear! They literally jump awake, hand on her kodachi for one and on the roof of the carriage for the other. The booming laugh, who was heard from everyone, made them understand, and blushed. Tomoe even run in the carriage which obviously made every one laugh even more. On those words he walk away not minding them any more. In the days after the calm was again blanketing the caravan, and the two little girls return to their chatting. But one was observing them more than ever. Chen knew that Tomoe wasn''t the kind of woman who could just put her ¡°first kill¡± away like that. But she had visibly found a way to deal with that, quite a special one! The night after as said Tomoe became her friend cushion, so she was spared the nightmare. The nights after, every nights after in fact, none said anything but as if it was the most natural thing, they keep sleeping together. Naturally they were made fun of, and the shy titan would always show a cute blush only to be ¡°saved¡± by the ¡°fury¡±. It culminated the tenth day of the second month, 5 days after the attack; when someone called them ¡°the wifes¡±. Sadly that was a bit too much for Tomoe and she escape the teasing by running in the forest. And she ran after the disappearing form. She pounced on Tomoe after some minute of running. Yes she was faster but not by much, Tomoe really was fit. The two tumble and she used her barehanded mastery to end with Tomoe''s head in her bosom on top of her, and her leg locking the swordwoman''s ones. Looking down the titan was furiously blushing, that much away of ¡°frying¡± her brain. She sighed an stroke her friend''s head gently, calming her in a few minute. But none of them moved after. Blushing again Tomoe struck at her shoulder, a rather cute onomatopoeia going out her mouth. Even before she could finished Tomoe was laughing like a madwoman, which of course made Xia He "pout" which made her laughed even more. A good minute or two were necessary for her to stop, and a faint teasing smile adorned her lips while she dried her few laughing tears. She moved gently to ask for the still pouting girl to let her go. Getting up on her hand looking down at her pouting friend, she prepared to get up in hurry. She got down a little and brushed her lip on the cat ear and said softly And then in the same movement she push hat her hand while kissing lightly on Xia''s lips and got up in haste wanting to go away a faint blushed on her cheek. But once she was standing, she saw the ¡°deep red total face blush¡± of her still lying friend to stunned to move or say anything. She turn away to hide herself, putting her hand on her face which was beginning to turn to a violet crimson. She didn''t really knew why she did that! She wanted to tease her friend who was gently mocking her, and she though it was a good coming back teas. But now, her face heating up from the inside, her shyness crushing the roof, and some other feeling mixing themselves; the teasing was strongly coming back against her. A few minute latter none of the two took notice of the the rustling approaching. Master came on this scene not understanding it at all. One on the ground clearly still breathing, albeit not quite peacefully, the other turn back face in hand, and the two blushing like young sheltered virgin who saw for the first time a male ¡°material¡±. Snickering, he came closer to them, and saw how oblivious they were of their surrounding. They startled quite wonderfully and look at him surprise as if he just teleport here. Xia he rose quickly, to be literally pull the ears with Tomoe. He let them go his lips curving by the sight of them smoothinf their ears. He looked at them another second or two before returning to the camp while telling them to come back in five if they didn''t want to have him to spank them to yesterday!
Someone asked me why i was putting bullet point on my dialogue. (That was at the prologue, but I think it''s better to reply here, too much a bother (for me and you probably^^) to go there again. I do it to ease thing. Some use colour to make the dialogue more visible, I chose the bullet point. I don''t see how i would use it in a stories, it''s simpler for me than colouring it, and it''s clear enough. Chapter 3: Enchantment!
"Orenda, mana, magica, maho, it has so many name and has inspired savant and researcher, religion and sect, king and emperor; its influence on History cannot be challenged. It is one of the most powerful, useful and adaptable power. But it''s also probably the most toxic and unpredictable one of the three. Every one know of the Giant Mana Wast in the centre of the Dragon Continent. A land where Mana-storm, monster, magical beast, Mana-geyser and a lot of other deadly threat wander around. But what isn''t as known is that monster are creature physically and mentally warp by magic. It was discovered in the 736th years of our calendar that often monster are discovered, or originated around Mana-geyser. The enormous and sudden discharge of mana in the surrounding, forced some mutation; a few researcher had been known to speak of evolution; of the surrounding. Unlike flora who seems to benefit from it, albeit some turn into the most vicious and terrible things, most fauna die because of it. As for now we don''t understand why some live and not other. Power seems not the determining factor, nor adaptability. But the resulting things can''t be call like their past self. Warp thing with deadly and random mutation, who hunt every thing regardless of their well being, even regardless of the basic needs. Those berserker like monster are one of the biggest plague and threat of the world." Excerpt of ''The power of the Individual'' By Aranus Pracelius, ArchMagist¨¨re of King Stroncius IV.

Seeing him going back the girls made wry smile. Both understanding how much they made themselfs easy prey. They didn''t really encounter any predator but that was only because of their number, which wouldn''t help them there. There ears still stinging they both sight at the same time, which naturally made them look at each other. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. And the both recalled what made them so oblivious of their surrounding at the end. The "scarlet illness" was striking back, making them turn their back to the other. Xia He harrumpft to hide her shyness and Tomoe spoke quickly but jitteringly: But they stood still another minute or so, both not wanting the other to see them still red. The one who couldn''t keep it was the titan, who began to go back rather quickly. Some would say she lost the "battle" as the tiger girl feeling the departure followed her, and they would be right. But at this moment the follower was asking herself if go second. Yes she was seeing the red ears of her friend, but that only made her even more thinking about IT, and her mind, not listening to her plea, was making her see IT again and again! So the one who was the most "ill" was indeed Xia He. Now who had really lost? Quite naturally they were much slower to go back. And before they could go back back to the caravan Xia He stop the other girl by taking her arm. Tomoe stopped, and was beginning to think about how asking why, while she know it, she heard her voice, but the seriousness of it quickly made her stop her track and look around. Tomoe centered herself with an expiration, then she started to draw the ambiant mana. She pulled some of hers to, but much more than what she sould have. She didn''t like to do it that way, but the choice weren''t hers. Xia He, then, heard a soft and strange flow of word from behind her as she had turned to were they would come. She couldn''t understand it, but she didn''t really have even if she was quite shocked. Tomoe was chanting magic! Less than three second and the chant was done. A gust a wind envelopped them, revolving around each for an instant, making their hair flow with it. Xia He was shocked a second time! She was near Tomoe so she could feel the two revolving wind, but for her friend not to be a magus, but to be able to enchant two person at the same time too! Even with just the little bit of knowledge she had she knew that it required a good skill but a good mana capacity! Tomoe wasn''t just good with her blade! So the "existance" of her friend in her mind grew again. The therianthrope weren''t know for their magus, just a few of them could do something "battle worth" with magic; but unlike the majority she had abolutly no capacity for it, her body was without any drop of mana. But Tomoe could enchant her, and that was the first! Obviously if one was striking her with a magical attack, like a blast or a fireball she would be hurt like any others. But to this day she never really "felt" the mana, and naturally she read of it, and like any young one she had dream to wield it or to feel it, but never before she could. Even the elven magus she meet wasn''t able to make the mana "clung" to her, wasn''t able to "enchant" her! She was so shocked that she nearly miss Tomoe saying to her that she would be faster with it, and that she should turn her head around and look to those coming. Unknowingly she had turn her head to look at Tomoe. And Tomoe looking at the shining eyes of her friend was blushing again before the tiger brought herself back. Seeing the form still a bit away from them, two or three second, Tomoe closed her eyes to center herself quicker. She draw again from within herself, but this time it wasn''t mana. For those capable to see it, a softly glowing blue-green aura expend from within her, envelopping her just a bit away from her skin, before flowing to her sword. That "aura" concentrated itself on the blade, and make itself revolved arround them quickly only a millimeter away a most. Then she heard a few growling sound seeming like just a few meter away, making her opening her eyes. What was approching the at hight speed was four wolfs she thought at first. Then she saw the spike growing from their back, the crased burning and "smoking" violet glowing eyes. they weren''t just wolfs, but Monstruous Wolf! Chapter 4: Monstruous wolfs versus tiger
Monster: A generalisation for animals, Name-giver species, and more rarely magical beast or dragons, who have been deformed physically and mentally by an exposition to hight output of mana in a "short" time window. Often call individualy "monstruous" followed by their "parent" species name (aka: Montruous bear, monstruous human) ; these creature are stronger than their "parent species". The only real generality we can make about them is that their is no patern, no similarity between two individuals, or so is the consensus about them. What we know for sure is that their mind is so warped by the wild magical energy that the only thing they do is hunting and killing. Nearly inexhaustable, as long as they eat (never entirely) prey who have sufficient mana in their body; they go on a rampage killing everything, even their own species, or their own pack/herd(...) if they had one still alive. There is one thing that physically they all share and that show without mistake they are monster: their glowing and "smoking" violet eyes (if they had one before) and their violet vein which are visible one one part or another ;most of the time ner the head or the heart. And probably the consequence of their need for mana they often hunt those who have the most mana the first.
Before them five magicaly warped wolf appeared, drooling like rabies one, with spike growing on their back, and lunching themselves at them without any thought. The girls were a bit stunned for less than a second, monster shouldn''t hunt in group! And that moment was what forced them to jump to the side, separating them. Three were looking at Tomoe, one more than those looking at Xia He, but she had the biggest one. Even without the coordination that a wolf pack should have, fighting more than one at the same time is not a simple thing. Seeing what they were against, Xia He made a surprisingly powerful roar like those of a tiger. At the camp, the Master was scolding the others. Even him thought they pushed the girls too much, moreover one of them should had killed for the first time! Before the angry Master nobody wispered a thing, even at other time, but then, even they thought that they had done it too much. Just as Master Chen was ending his rebuck, a powerful but a bit faraway roar was heard! Master Chen didn''t had to wonder who it was, nor why, the roar had the subtle variation for mortal danger! Most of the other, in fact all the therianthrope knew what was telling the roar, and a few other who had been with them for a long time knew it quickly too. And as nearly none of them had let go of their arms nor armors, in less than 3 second, eleven therianthrope were on the run at full speed, they were some of the most experienced and those who knew Xia He the best. Back at the girls the situation wasn''t good. Separated by the first attack and the wolfs frenzy ways, they couldn''t rejoin. Even more, Tomoe who had three of them attacking her was puch back a few step at time. And the growing distance made both of the girls worried. In less than 15 seconds, Tomoe was puched back so much that they couldn''t see each others! The wolfs weren''t unscathed but they didn''t seems to care, and some even seems to regenerate! Fortunately the only ways they were attacking was by jumping on their prey, on rushing to attack their legs.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. Xia He had made a good use of her jumping capacity, slashing at the wolf under her, breaking sometimes the uneven spike on their back. but every time the other was charging just behind or just after, forbading her to advance were she wanted. When she couldn''t see Tomoe anymore, her heart, who was beating fast because of the battle, seems to shrink and something in her snapped. She roared a second time, but this one was of anger and of death. She jump back again two times, but this time it was willingly, and with more power. While she was jumping she got rid of her gauntlet, launching them at the face of the to monster. Launched like that they wouldn''t do anything significant, even with the unsuspected weight! But it was enought to stun them just the two second she needed when they struck them on the nose! She put her hand on the earth, and growled like a beast. And in the seconds the two warped being were stuned and needed to readied themself; she let her inner beast took the lead. For most therianhrope that would be to just let their anger and bestiality lead them, but for her it was a totaly different thing. Indiscible pain, and pleasure like no other spread through her whole being. Something like a mist with lots of small light envelopped her and beginned to expend drastically. In just a few second the glowing mist receded letting visible a sligtly big silvery white tiger! Faster than before, it charged the wolfs while roaring. In one powerful jump she was on the closest one! She slashed him on the head with her two clawed paws one just after the other. One eye explosed under the assault, and blood surged in a spray. The other wolf not carring jump on her right side to bite her forelegs. She roared under the pain, but turned her head to bite his neck! She didn''t seems to care about one spike growing forward from his spine. When she closed her jaw she did break it, but a part runed through the side, breacking a few teeth and her cheek. but at the same time she broke his neck, perforated his artery, sending him to hell with just a last jolt. The other tried to jump and bite her neck but just to torn a bit of skin before lending awkwardly due to the miss. turning her head even with the other, she clawed his neck but keeped him locked under her paw. With the other, she clawed a few times his flank, shredding it to pieces with his heart. When Master Chen and the other heard the deathly roar they cursed fate. Each on know what was happening, it wasn''t know to the whole caravan, only the trusted and they knew something was not right. She wouldn''t Shift with Tomoe so near at this time. They knew the two had bondedmore than she had whith any-other and even they wanted the titan to stay with them. She was a good girl, she knew how to defend herself, even more, but most of all, she was becoming a friend to Xia He something she never really had, not with a girl her age. But showing her That, was to much to soon! She already had to show her a partial shift, and that already had cause her so much problem! So they pushed themselves even if they were so near. When they saw her, she just had killed the second, as they weren''t seeing anything threatening they eased themselves. Just Chen was still going full speed to stop himself in front of her. Seeing him appearing before her, seems to not matter, she just tried to pass on his side. But she was stop when he side step before her. She tried a second time, for him to block her again, to which she growled menacingly! He was serious, and feared what had happened. It was the first time since a long time ago, when she didin''t knew him well, that she menaced him! She just looked behind him before growling at him again. The other were quite stunned, they knew how much she loved the Master, he was like a father to her, her family having got rid of her because of the Shit when she was just 7! They were so surprised they just looked. Master hadn''t need more than that, but instead of letting her go, with him obviously, he spoke again. He didn''t say that she would just frightened her even more, obviously she wasn''t thinking of that, she was just too much worried. He just hope Tomoe was as gentle and as much a friend than he hoped. Clearly, the big tiger didn''t seems to like the thought of not going NOW, but the look in Master Chen eyes... She couldn''t understand, in that form she was more of an animal, her thinking a bit simpler, animal just don''t do subtility. But she liked him enought to let him get rid of that distinging weight if he could do so in a flash! So she opened her jaws and let him unstruck the spike who even if most of it was broken, it was still attached to the wolf enough to not let her get rid of it easily. That out of the way, they both could run to the last girls hopping she was still alive, the other 10 just a second or two late. They didn''t needed 10 second a top speed to see her but... Chapter 5: That kind of silver color.

But when that continent was discovered the variation had more than tripled! But the most exotic were the even to this day most enigmatic Nagarr''Kyur. Excerpt of Fauna of the dragon Continent by the High Priest Saar''Varhi Anno 374 of the Dragon Calendar.
She was pushed back and back again. Already she couldn''t see Xia He anymore, and even with her two Kodachi and fighting truly defensively she had tacken some hit; none were really dangerous, but her blood was slowly dripping out, and her life with it. Again one was jumping to her throat! She lowered herself and slashed his underbelly, but this one and one of the other were regenerating too quickly for it to do much more than a short lived hindrance! Still he won''t attack her for nearly ten or twenty seconds. Just as she was thinking that another one jumped at her legs, and with the two other more or less to her side she could only jump backward again. She grit her teeth and jump back again after a quick look behind. She nearly hurt herself with the branches of the tree she wanted at her back. But it wasn''t all, she was pulling at the ambient mana and her own, to form a wind blade. She already had launched two other, and with the enhancement she had done at the beginning her reserved was near half, it didn''t spell good. This time on the other hand she knew to which one it would do something worth! Two launched themselves at her, one one her leg the other to bite her neck. Just as expected she grin for the first time. She jumped high having prep her ki to boost her legs power, and pined her left kodachi in the trunk and with the other launched her wind blade at the one under her who stunned itself having expected her legs there. The blade cut a good part of him, making him loose the use of its front right legs and having difficulty to breath; now she could breath again, one was as good as out! This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. Balancing herself on the kodachi, she tried to take a footing on one branch, but the last jumped at the same time and with the help of one under he bite her ankle! Thankfully he couldn''t take hold of it but now is wasn''t usable, and she knew she couldn''t stay here the tree much to small for her to escape higher. She tried to look around while keeping her foot out of the reach a those beast but as one of them had just once more struck the trunk her kodachi sleep out of the wood. With a small surprise cry she felled onto the one responsible for it, albeit that it wasn''t what he really wanted. Her surprise didn''t stop her to feel him under her, without any other way, she put one blade on guard before her, and struck the other right in between two of his cervical. Sadly she put too much power behind her strike and sinks it in the earth. That wouldn''t have been much of a pain but the way the cervical of the wolf were constricting the blade plus that made that she couldn''t snatched it easily. While she was killing this one, the other one still alright jumped at her, slightly away of her guard blade, however this blade was moved toward his heart half because she saw him, half because of the movement of the dying one under her. The kodachi stroked true and pierced his heart with no resistance, but he still had planted his right claws on her side making her bleed even more. She just had one more, and a handicapped one, but her two blade still struck in the monster there was nothing she could do to stop him when she saw him walking on the corps of his ex-packmate. A sight escape her lips, her last thought was that she was going to see her grand mother quite early, and that she will have her ears ringing because of it! And that she hope her friend was alright. The warped creature with his only leg couldn''t get a good killing bite but he could just trash her torso, which he wanted to. She feeled his fangs pushing onto her leather armor before piercing it. The pain shocked her, his jaws were more powerful that she would have thought! She felt like it was crushing her bone, as she felt her blood flowing. With how much she already shed she would certainly die in less than a minute even he didn''t kill her before. Her eyelid felled heavy, and she was closing them when the wolf explode! She opened her eyes wide in shock searching for what had done that, and there a few meters away of her was... something. She had no word for it, and her head was getting heavier each passing second. She made a small smile at the thing not knowing why, if he really had save her, or if her just wanted the concurrence to be away. The being approached her, seems to be... looking? At her. Even if she couldn''t see any eyes. Before closing her eyes for the last time, she heard a voice, without him opening his jaws. She felt the mana around her, it seems like waking up, waking up to sing. The amount she felt was like nothing she had ever felt she should have been crushed under the simple pressure of that much power, mana had a ¡°weight¡±, and her corps should have been crushed to powder. Yet she feeled like she was in the water, hot yet refreshing. Her eyelids feeled less heavier, as her head, so she took a better look at the entity that seems to want to save her. A svelte long and swift four legged body, much bigger than the wolfs, probably as big as a pony. If his claw were an indication of its feeding, the finger long claws, wide like two, should show she would have been a good, if quite small meal for him. But what really made her marvel, and shocked her the most was his color, a particular silver, much to pure for it being metallic, yet never reflecting the sunlight. She know that color, she know it so very well, that was her hair color! He lift his head to look back. And at that he simply.... disappeared. She felt him left, felt the wind, but he was much to quite for her tired eyes. She closed them finally hearing Master Chen calling her. A few second after she felt them near, she opened her eyes slowly she was so much sleepy; yet barely able to open them halfway, she saw two beautiful eye, one deep blue, the other gold with an orange outer ring. She let go of her kodachi and lift her hand slowly, to stroke the cheek of her no doubt crying friend. And she closed her eye falling finally asleep a small smile on her face. Master Chen put his hand on the head of the tiger who was trying to awake the girl. He crouch down to test her pulse, thinking it was to late, his own tear close. But to his surprise, the pulse was strong! So much blood, no doubt her own and her pulse was this strong? He keep them there a little, then said to the ears of the crying beast: ¡°But heaven strike me if I could tell how...¡± was his thought.
