"Loki, Get up! Your going to be late for school!" I hear a voice calling to me through my foggy dreams.
"Ugh... I''ll go tomorrow..." I know I may sound lazy, but school is horrible you know? Well, I might not be one to talk as I''ve never been bullied or picked on but it''s still bad all the same.
Why do we go to school every year to learn things that will mostly become useless once we leave? Anything we learn one year is forgotten the next and then we have to learn it all over again.
"Come on, it''s not even two weeks in and your already like this, what am I supposed to do with you!"
"Ok, ok I''m getting up..."
"Good, make sure to hide your wings and tail, I''ll see you after school"
"Yes Mum"
Ok, you might be a little confused at this point, let me explain. My family comes from a very long line of dragons, yes dragons.
Don''t misunderstand, this is the world that you (most likely) know, however dragons do exist. We used to live out in the open but over time, humans discovered ways of hunting us down.
Nowadays we dragons hide as humans and live a relatively normal life (except for the long lifespan, but that can be hidden).
Anyways, as I put on my shoes and opened the front door, there was a flash of light and what looked like a magic circle from a light novel.
"Ah-" I looked at it in surprise before blacking out.

So that''s how I ended up in what appeared to be a throne room, facing a ''King'' of some unknown country.
"As such, we will be looking forward to seeing what you can do. Please show the Hero to his rooms."
As I followed the guards to my room in a daze, I had a revelation.
Hold on a second, what is this, some light novel? Where''s the demon king? The princess? No wait, aren''t I jumping ahead of myself? Did I fall asleep in class?
I pinch myself... Nothing happened. Ok, so this might not be a dream, but what''s with the lack of seriousness? Why was I summoned here?
After asking the servants leading me to my room, I discovered that in this world, summoning a Hero is done by large cities (apparently it takes a lot of resources for a Hero summoning) or countries wanting to show off their power or have extra protection.
The people summoned to be Heroes are given a divine gift from the gods when they cross over and there''s even a device used to rank the power of different gifts.
"Yawn~" Well, I''ll think about this later, I''ve arrived at my rooms and I need a nap.

~Day 1 in another world~
"Esteemed sir, it is time for the gift ranking. The King requests your presence."
I woke up to a maid knocking on the door.
"Thank you. Also just call me Loki"
Even though I''m supposed to be a ''Hero'', it feels weird being called ''Hero'' and ''esteemed sir''.
After leaving my room and wandering the corridors I realised I had no idea where to go. I asked a nearby guard and he pointed the way for me, turned out I had been walking around in circles...
I opened the doors to an overly fancy room. The King stood on a stage with a crystal ball and what appeared to be a lot of important people seated watching the stage.
I later found out that they were different nobles of the kingdom.
"Welcome, Hero. Please place your hands on the crystal ball to test your gift." The King said.
I walk forward towards the stage as everyone watched, which definitely didn''t bother me at all... Ok maybe a little, or a lot.
Imagine walking to a stage with hundreds of important people as well as a King, staring at you while you try not to make a fool of yourself.
I normally didn''t do well with just class presentations, which I''ll have you know, have a lot less people than the amount staring at me right now. If you haven''t noticed, I am very nervous right now!
Finally, I reached the stage and placed my hands on the ball, while I was nervous, I was also looking forward to what gift I might get.
Apparently they ranged from super strength, massive talent in magic and many others as well as being ranked from E, D, C, B, A and S. As I held my hands on the ball, it projected a screen onto the wall behind me for everyone to see. When everyone saw what it projected their faces changed from hope and apprehension to shock and some even anger. While the King tried not to show any reaction, I swear I saw his face twitch.

I sat in the audience next to the other nobles of the kingdom, excited for what was about to happen.
Orilia started off as just a small country, and with King Clive on the throne, our magnificent country has grown to the massive kingdom it is today.
To show how much our kingdom has grown (to the subjects as well as the neighboring countries), the King announced that there will be a Hero summoning! Back to the present, we are currently very thrilled to see what kind of divine gift the Hero received from God.
The doors creak open revealing the Hero of our kingdom, he walked confidently toward the stage (obviously Loki''s acting skills are amazing) and put his hands on the crystal ball, when the screen was projected onto the back wall, I saw... Nothing! Absolutely nothing! The Hero had no gift! In the entire history of this continent, this has never happened before!

Well, that was a disaster.
After finding out I had no gift, all the nobles started panicking. The King had to calm them down and promised that even though I had no gift, I must surely still be an able knight, and will most surely be able to serve the kingdom. What a pain, now I get to look forward to a long road of pain and suffering as I try to make up for my lack of a gift.
Hello again, I know I said I would post longer chapters but my ever present friend laziness just won''t allow it. To make up for this though, I will try to post chapters at least once a week. Again, any feedback or suggestions are welcome and may be included in the story.

~Day 1 in another world~
After finding out I had no gift I went back to my room and collapsed on my bed.
"Haa~" Well, this was most probably the most tiresome day of my life. I mean, getting summoned to another world is awesome, I always wondered what would happen if it did happen to me, but, why now? Why couldn''t it have been after I had my fun in my own world? What about my mum? My friends?
When someone gets summoned, what happens to the old world? Does it just keep going without me? Or does it stop completely? What if this so called ''God'' created me and my memories and I never lived in my world at all?
Well, I should probably think about my actions from now on, there''s no point worrying about something I can''t do anything about at the moment. While I miss my own world, this world is good too, so I don''t want to die here, I want to experience what it''s like.
So first of all, my survival... I can probably stay in the kingdom, but most likely they''ll want me to fight for them at some point and I don''t know whether I can show the fact that I''m a dragon, not that I have much experience in my dragon form as I always had to hide it.
You can''t even fly at night in the dark as there''s always planes or some other form of flying transportation up in the sky. I''m not even sure whether I''ll be strong in my dragon form, what if everyone here can easily beat a dragon?
Aah, I went off topic. Anyway, I''ll stay in the kingdom for as long as possible, learn about this place, whether I can go back home or not and what people think of dragons, or if they even exist here. Also while I''m in the kingdom I can train to at least have some form of defence.
Ok, I feel a lot better after getting that off my chest. I should get some sleep, I have a lot planned for tomorrow.

~Day 2 in another world~
"Ha! Ha!" I woke up today and have started training to be ''at least of some use'' to the kingdom (honestly, they were the ones that summoned me, they have nothing to complain about).
While I''m not sure if I enjoy this, at least I will be able to protect myself.
"Put your whole body into it, your not just swinging a stick, this is training that foul one day save your life!" The trainer yelled, I think everyone holds it against me that I have no gift. While I''m annoyed, it''s not like I don''t understand.
Imagine spending multiple precious resources to summon someone who, at the moment, is weaker than an average commoner (yes, I know, I''m not that much of a sporty person).
Well, I learnt the basics of holding and swinging a sword (though I don''t think it is of much use at the moment but I''ll keep trying). I asked the trainer after the lesson if they had I library where I could borrow some books and he grudgingly told me where to find it.
After wondering the halls for a suspiciously long time, I found the library and borrowed some books to read in my rooms.

Most of them where basic things like the races of the world, history and the like. I also borrowed some books on jobs, magic and laws of the kingdom (I know I know, why borrow a book on laws? Just to be safe you know... Anything could happen...)
This world has four main races (listed from strongest to weakest);
Humans
The second highest population out of the four main races (first being monsters). Human are the weakest among the main races but make up for it with their tools and inventions as well as being able to uses average magic. (By the way, this world - in terms of technology and most other areas - is set in about the Middle Ages with a mostly European like setting)
Average lifespan: 60-80 years
Demons
The lowest population of the main races, however they also have the longest lifespan as well as being stronger in the areas of magic.
Average lifespan: 150-300 years
Beast-men
The third highest population, beast-men usually have superior strength as well as being highly inventive similar to humans but due to their lower population, have no made it higher on the list. They also have the lowest compatibility with magic and their appearance varies depending on what clan they come from.
Average lifespan: 80-150
Monsters
The highest population, however most have very little intelligence and are very weak, they made it to the top four with sheer numbers as well as a few stronger and more intelligent monsters over viewing them. The abilities and comparability with magic depend on the type of monster.

There are other races such as elves and dwarves to name a few but they are very secretive and do not interact much with the outside world.
I looked it up and it seems that while dragons do exist in this world, they are rarely seen and not much is known about them. While powerful, one can be taken down with a group of strong human fighters (Guess I just have to train harder with the sword *sigh*).
There are mostly normal jobs (for the Middle Ages anyway), however there are also such people as adventurers as well as other jobs that branch off from that.
Magic in this world is mostly made up of one of four elements (Earth, water, fire and air) however there are also rarer elements such as light, dark, space and void (space being where you create space while void being where you can destroy space). Some races are more suited to certain elements as well as being weaker to others.
Also, as expected, there is no known way to return a person summoned to their original world (not that I will give up, if I can get here, then there has to be a way back).
I finally finished gathering all the basic information~ reading a pile of old books really isn''t my forte... Well, I look forward to what will happen tomorrow.

Chapter 4 - Travelling to a dungeon
Hello again my small number of followers and anyone else here reading this, I''m sorry the chapter is shorter this week even though I''ve been trying to slowly make it longer. However I''ll be (most likely) writing at least 2 chapters next week with one most likely coming tomorrow, so don''t lose hope in me yet! Here''s the chapter for this week...

~Day 21 in another world~
It''s been almost a month since I was summoned to this world (which I now know to be Elentacia). Surprisingly, not much has happened, but I did train more with the sword.
Jeremy (my trainer) decided I needed some real world experience so today, I''m heading to a beginners dungeon.
Dungeons are ranked similar to gifts and almost anything else in this world (E, D, C, B, A and S). Rank E is considered beginners dungeons, rank C and D are novice dungeons and rank B and A are considered expert dungeons.
Rank S is for the rare people who are strong enough to take on whole armies by themselves, however those people only appear once every century or so.
As I pack my bags, Jeremy calls impatiently for me to hurry up. After the initial shock of me not having a gift wore off, everyone began to accept me. While some are still hostile, it''s a lot better than before.
Jeremy is a very proud person (and well deserves to be, as he is a master in the art of swordsmanship) who despises being late and anything disorganised, but overall, he is a great (if somewhat annoying) friend.
"Come on Loki, we can''t afford to be late!" Jeremy shouted.
"I''m coming, I''m coming, wait up will you?" Jeremy had already jumped on his stallion Bolt and was trotting away already.
I hurriedly jumped on my own horse (named Midnight, obviously, her coat is completely black. Bolt is white by the way) and charged after Jeremy.
After trotting through the crowded streets of the kingdom and grabbing some lunch on the way, we reached the outskirts and stopped at an inn for the night.
Jeremy and I sat eating our dinner while Jeremy lectured me on my swordsmanship.
"Make sure to keep your guard up, even though it''s only a beginners dungeon, so are you. Being too confident will only pull you down. Now, tell me all the names of the monsters inside the dungeon, their weak points, and how you, considering your own weaknesses and strengths will be able to defeat them!"
After training with Jeremy, I learnt not only about swordsmanship, but also the different monsters in different areas and how to defeat them. He taught me that, not only must I know my enemies strengths and weaknesses, but also my own. If I didn''t, I would never become any greater than a novice.

Jeremy also introduced me to status cards, which, considering everything else that has happened, does not surprise me.
Luckily, while I''m in my human form, my dragon race is hidden. I don''t think the people in this world even know dragons can transform into humans (unless of course, the dragons of this world can''t. I definitely need to find a dragon sometime and investigate).

Every time you level up you gain 5 stat points and you can raise it normally by training. Mana is decided by how much intelligence you have (mana = intelligence x 20) finally I find something I''m good at!
However, most of the magicians in the kingdom at the moment aren''t up to par in teaching someone like me. So I have to wait until they return.
The average points is 10-20 for townsfolk, 21-40 for normal guards and soldiers, 41-60 for the Royal guard and 61-80 are the elite. People with points going over 81 are very few and any over 100 is almost nonexistent (except of course the Heroes, but unfortunately the only thing I''m okay at is magic).
Intelligence is raised by gaining knowledge whereas wisdom is hard to raise and normally, it stays mostly the same unless someone has a sudden insight into something.
I also discovered that I have a higher agility (obviously not higher than average, just higher than my other stats...), which made Jeremy drill into me how I can use it to my advantage.
Jeremy and I finished our meal and went to bed. Tomorrow I''ll be able to fight for the first time and I can''t wait to see what I can do.
Loki has no last name due to laziness coupled with a terrible naming sense (My friends helped me name most of the characters, now and upcoming). Chapter 5 - Into the dungeon!
Hello! I did it, I finally wrote a long chapter! (I think it''s long anyway) It''s pretty much 1,000 words! Aaaand, I did it when I said I would! Sorry, I''m just amazed I managed to do this, I was seriously not motivated today... Also, another characters introduced today~
I haven''t named any of the monsters because I have absolutely no idea what to call them. If you have any ideas please tell me! Otherwise the names will be things like [Long clawed monkey] or [Two headed wolf] and things like that...

~Day 22 in another world~
Jeremy and I stood outside the entrance of a dark dungeon.
"Remember, even though I''m with you, I won''t help unless it''s absolutely necessary. Don''t slack off if you think your stronger than them, even weaker opponents can defeat people stronger than them if given the chance." Jeremy reminded me.
"-and don''t forget your training! A lot of young adventurers die because they freeze up when they first see a monster. Yell if you really think you can''t handle it and I''ll come, but I think you''ll do fine." He said, smiling at me.
I nod to him and enter the dungeon.
Splash!
The slime exploded into a pool of blue liquid after I broke its core.
Beginner dungeons only have 10 floors, with a boss that re-spawns at the end of every floor. So far I''ve reached floor 6.
I found out that when fighting monsters, my level raises faster, I don''t know wether or not this will keep happening but it gives me some motivation to keep going.
Most of the monsters (at least in this dungeon) seem to be based on animals I know from my own world.
For example, so far I''ve already seen wolves with two heads, frogs that walk on two legs and giant insects. However there are also creatures like slimes, which I''m pretty sure didn''t exist in my world but who knows, maybe they went extinct or something?
Looking around the giant cave with glowing moss that looked like stars on the ceiling, I saw a pack of monkeys with long sharp teeth and two pairs of arms. Spotting an intruder on their territory, they growled menacingly and rushed towards me.
But before they could get close enough to circle me, I used my ability to run behind one before cutting off its head. It''s pack watched as I decapitated their member, and their eyes turned red with rage.
Charging at me with no particular plan and climbing over each other in their attempt to get to me first, my eyes flashed with contempt, before I disappeared.
I didn''t actually disappear, but after Jeremy watched me improving, he taught me a way I could put my mana to use. By channeling the mana to my legs, I can speed up, making it seem to others as if I just disappeared (only to those around the same power level or lower).
While these monkeys were weak when they were unorganised, if they had managed to encircle me I would have been in a bit of trouble.
I finished off the rest of the monkeys and moved on coming to a stop in front of a large door.
I guess this is the next boss room?
Opening the door, inside was a massive ape with dark matted fur and very large claws. The ape was surrounded by the smaller monkeys I fought with earlier.

Walking in, I looked the ape in the eyes, before it signalled to his subordinates to attack with an ear piecing roar.
ROOOAAAR!!!
The larger monkeys ran towards me and as I blocked and parried their attacks, the smaller ones snuck in attacks here and there when they saw an opening.
Channeling my mana into my arms, the blade in my hands became lighter (yes, I can channel my mana to my arms as well) and a flash of light was seen before all the larger monkeys surrounding me collapsed on the ground, dead.
Seeing this, the smaller monkeys became enraged, just like the ones from before, making them easy to get rid of with a few swings of my blade.
I then run towards the boss, trying to slash across its front, but the hide of the monster was too thick and I barely made a scratch. The ape monster, calmer than its minions, did not get enraged, but retaliated, swiping its massive claws across my chest.
Using my mana to stop the blood from bleeding out (Jeremy taught me this), I gritted my teeth against the pain and jumped back as it tried the same thing a second time.
"You won''t get me that easy!"
Yelling at the boss (I think I got a bit too into fighting here) I channeled my mana to my legs and feet, before jumping above the monster and cutting across one of its eyes.
The boss screamed in pain before its eyes turned red, and it''s too, like its minions, charged mindlessly towards me on all fours.
"Finally!"
Grinning evilly at the monster, I waited for it to get closer before jumping to the side, letting it slam its head into the wall behind.
As it tried to regain its senses after being dazed, I jumped on top of it, before stabbing its other eye and then it''s brain, killing the boss of the 6th floor.
I make sure it''s dead and then properly bandage my wound (don''t want it getting infected now do we? I mean, imagine all the dirt under those massive claws!).
After resting for a while, I stepped on the teleport circle the boss was guarding, and arrived at the 7th floor.
Walking through the rooms, I scouted out which monsters were on this floor (Jeremy didn''t tell me as he said I won''t have him with me all the time).
I found a lot of reptilian monsters on this floor, such as lizards, snakes and even turtles (monsters based off these creatures of course). As well as some monkeys and other monsters that got here from lower floors and managed to survive alongside the stronger monsters.
Snap!
Suddenly, I heard a noise behind me, wondering what it was I turned around cautiously (I didn''t detect it before it made a noise).
Turning around fully, I looked to see, to my surprise, a young girl with her blonde hair done up in two pigtails. She looked at me angrily before turning and running away.
So there''s the chapter! I think it''s a lot longer than my other ones but if it''s too short just tell me and I''ll try to make it longer still (although if it''s any longer than 2,500 words I won''t be able to do it) Any comments are appreciated as they give me motivation to write another chapter! Thank you to anyone who has followed this as it makes me really happy that some people want to read my story, even just as a pass time.

Chapter 6 - Unexpected meeting
Hello again, sorry it took so long. After coming back I got really sick, all better now though. So anyway, I changed the storyline a lot and there will probably be no need for the status and things like that. Too lazy to change it though... So yeah, here''s chapter six!

~Day 22 in another world~
Turning around fully, I looked to see, to my surprise, a young girl with her blonde hair done up in two pigtails. She looked at me angrily before turning and running away.
"Wait!"
I called out to her, what was a little girl doing in a dungeon? What if she gets hurt?! (I later felt stupid because how could a little girl could even come this far into a dungeon, even if it is a beginner one).
"Wa-wait up I said!"
How can a little girl be so fast?
Kyaaa!
She turned a corner and I heard her scream. I sped up and turned around the corner to see a ghoul about to attack the girl. Drawing my sword I stab it in the head to kill it before checking if she was okay.
The girl sat on the ground crying.
"Are you okay? It''s gone now, you don''t have to be afraid."
She looked at the dead body of the ghoul before looking at me.
"I-I wasn''t afraid, I was... I just had something in my eye."
"Then why did you scream?"
"Obviously, I was... Distracting it so I could attack.
She nodded, looking at me proudly (is she proud of coming up with an excuse?)
"Right..."
Hiding my smile I help her up.
"So why were you mad at me? Actually, how did a little girl get so far into a dungeon in the first place?!"
"I''m am not a little girl! I am a proud dragon of the Blue Wind clan, unlike a no name like you!"
"No name? Wait, your a dragon?!"
"Of course I''m a dragon, what did you think I was, a lizard?! And you don''t even know what the clans call dragons like you, are you stupid? Have you lived under a rock all your life?"
"Hold on a second! This is a misunderstanding!"
After thinking for a while I decide to tell her the truth, people from another world aren''t exactly rare around here. I watched her face go from anger to confusion, she looked like she didn''t believe me but I assured her it was the truth.
"So you don''t know anything about dragons here?" She looked at me with curiosity.
"No, I barely even know anything about the dragons in my own world, we always hid so I only met a couple."
The girl contemplated what I had said for a while before looking back up at me.
"Well, I um, apologise for um, acting so rude to you... But you did see me *cough* c-cry so... In exchange for you forgetting what you saw, I will teach you about the dragons around here?"
She was angry because I saw her cry? Well, I guess I would be too... Still, I hope I never make her angry again, that was scary...

Regarding her deal, I don''t see anything wrong with it and I would definitely like to know more about the dragons here.
"Deal, I''m Loki by the way."
We decided that we would kill the next boss first (I forgot to mention this earlier but once you defeat the boss, another one doesn''t spawn until you leave the room, so you can rest there before moving on) before she told me anything. I found out her name is Emily but she told me to call her Em (while she looks small she''s actually the same age as me).
After teaming up we moved a lot faster though the dungeon, Em reluctantly told me that she was afraid of ghouls because of something that happened as a child. But if the monster isn''t a ghoul she can kill it easily. Making me feel that maybe I hadn''t improved all that much and I shouldn''t get too ahead of myself. But she told me it was fine because dragons were naturally better at magic because their original bodies are already faster and stronger than most other creatures.
"So what was your old world like, was it hard hiding? How many dragons did you know from your world?"
"Well..."
Em really is curious, I''m pretty sure she asked about almost everything! From the dragons and my life to what kind of food I ate, by the end of it all she probably knew enough to live there herself.
"Now that I think about it, how come there are dragons in my old world but no magic?"
"Hmm, I''m not sure. Maybe your world used to have magic? Magic flows in a cycle, much like many other things. It lives in the air and is absorbed by creatures that live off it, when they get stronger, those creatures bodies release magic back into the air. You said that humans live almost everywhere and have caused many animals to go extinct right? Well even though humans can use magic, their bodies don''t naturally absorb and release it so if there are no creatures that are able to do that, naturally the magic would decrease."
"But there are still some in hiding though?"
"Well yes, but there''s wouldn''t be a lot. Your body has probably evolved to be able to cope with the lack of magic the way humans are able to, meaning you wouldn''t be able to keep the cycle going."
"Does that mean I''m weaker than the dragons from here?"
