《Chimera, The Unwilling Familiar》 Prologue: The Plan Prologue: The Plan After coming home from school the boy calmly proceed to the kitchen to sit his backpack down on an empty chair by the countertop, grabbing up the note left there in the process. He tossed it into the trash not bothering to read it, he already knew what it said anyway. He could just imagine since they all practically read the same thing: Dear son, Mommy is going to be busy making ''green'' . Remember to eat by yourself since I won''t be back until morning. Hugs and Kisses, Mommy It''s not like he hated his mother, on contrary, he loved her more than anything but his life was shit and so was hers. They had bills coming out of their ass and no ''green'', or money, to speak of even though his mother worked herself sick...literally leaving them with yet another unpaidbill and the cost of mothers'' medication. He pulled a dirty knife out of the sink and began washing it with great care. He knew his plan would be a successes, how could it not since there''d be no one here to stop him?He didn''t have any friends that would bang on the door and demand access to his mothers'' residence effectively stopping his plan, as a matter of fact he didn''t have any friends at all. He wasn''t bullied as far as he knew... he was just...timid and shy. Resigning himself to his fate he dried the knife and headed towards his room that just so happened to have a private bathroom in it. Once inside he lingered inthe room, its'' walls were painted an ugly orange color. Two mattresseslay on an old yellow rug with evidentshit stains (he hoped it was from a dog or some kind of animal as opposed to a human) that he and his mother had stolen from the non-profit store; Donations'' Will. As for the rest of his room... there were three boxes with clothes in them, one for shirts, one for pants, one for his...not panties (he did not share his mothers'' panties panties! He didn''t!!!). Turning the handle on the door he slowly opened it and enteredthe bathroom. He was tempted to take a piss as he hadn''t gone since he left for school but he steeled himself, after all he wouldn''t really need to piss when his plan was completed. He didn''t hesitate when hehopped in the tub fully clothed, (he couldn''t leave a mess behind for his mother to clean up!) and without prolonging the plan anymore than needed he slit his wrist, grinding his teeth together so he wouldn''t cry out and alert anyone to his plan (even though he knew no one was there). Blood spilt over his wrist and began dripping down his arms into the tub. Ever so slowly as he watched and waited he could feel himself going numb, with the last bit of willpower he could muster he prayed: Dear God, please take care my mom as best you can. I mean, I don''t know if I really believe in a God or not but if you are there please, please make her forget about me. Make her happy or something. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. With that he smiled, as his plan worked just as how he knew it would and now...now he was free. ...However, that freedom, just like his human life, would soon come to a close. ____________________________________________________________________________ God POV: God was peeping, uh, watching the ladies, uh, men, uh, humans (God was totally not a peeping tom. Nope. No. Nah. No Way... Maybe.) andspied a boy who was sitting fully clothed in a bath tub. Something about this seemed odd to God so God watched the boy curiously and something unforeseen happened...the boy died. Not satisfied with the display God probed the boys'' soul to learn how he died and numerous thoughts came to the surface, the loudest among them was: Free, to which God was clueless about. The next thought made more since to God though, it was: Suicide, along with a few others: Lonely, Love, Sad. Goddid not approve of this boy or the way his life had beenextinguished. God then heard a prayer on the winds of time and space, it was lagging a bit and barely more than a whisper in Gods'' ear but God being ''God'' knew whose'' prayer this was: it belonged to the boy who hadcommittedsuicide. God almost decided against hearing it but this was part of a Gods'' responsibility so God listened. After listening God was at a loss, the boy didn''t believe in God... God came to a decision, the boy would receive Gods'' forgiveness for taking his own life but only because God had neglected the child. (What human doesn''t believe in God?)God feels pity, God will reincarnate this child (maybe into a ladywith curves in all the right... God is not a pervert!) into a different realm, one with many different Gods so the child will not be neglected again. As for the wish the child made while in prayer God shall do it as penancefor Gods'' neglect. The childs'' mother will not remember having a son and shall have great luck from now until the end of her days. God then proceeded to rip the soul from the body of the boy and begin the process of sending it to the white room, which would allow for a certain amount of control when the reincarnating really began (it was the least God could do since the boy had practically died due to Gods'' neglect and God intended to right those wrongs and fix the poor boys'' soul, there must be something wrong it to not believe in God). God nearly forgot, when sending a soul or person toanotherrealm they receive a Blessing from one or more Gods and sometimes even a few gifts to help them along in their new life. God nodded, setting up a ''computer'' in the white room , something the boy should be familiar with, to help move along the process of reincarnating, God also hoped having it would be of some comfort to the boy as God knew reincarnating into another realm could scare even the bravest of souls. Oh, God nearly forgot again, where should the boys'' soul be sent, and into which realm (there are many), although by peeping, uh, looking (God does not peep! Nope, nope, nope!!!) into the souls'' memories and seeing what the boy liked and hated God could get a picture of where the best place to drop the boys'' reincarnated soul would be. God found the perfect world for the boy. God even took the time to learn the boy was timid and wouldn''t approach people himself so God found a way to fix this. God was clever. God would send the boy to... A World where Magic and Monsters exist... Of course there''d be all kind of Magic Users, God thought, and naturally they would need a pet...uh, Familiar stay by their side.God giggled thinking about the child being ordered to:sit, stay, roll over. It was perfect, this way the boy would never be alone. God put the boys'' soul in white room and waited for it to finish all the while still giggling outside. Chapter 1: No Longer An Empty Dream Chapter 1: No Longer An Empty Dream He awoke on a stone slab, it was cold. The first thing he realizedwas that he couldn''t move. He couldn''t so much as twitch... He''d been strapped down firmly on a table made entirely of stone, his body felt as if it werelayinga block of ice. The second thing he noticed was his name, he couldn''tremember it. No matter how much he tried to dig it out of his head, his name remained a mystery to him. Although, surprisingly, he did still retain the memories of his former life. He judged by the sound of voices getting nearerand nearer to him that people were approaching him, whetherthere intentions good or bad he''d soon have to find out, with no way to get off the stone tables'' slab there''d be no escaping whatever was to come, and that scared him. He stilled upon hearing a door slam and multiple footsteps approaching him, the rational part of his brain was nearly overtookby his fear alone, but somehow he managed to cling on to a small sliver of coherence not allowing himself to be entirely consumed by the emotion called fear. The footsteps stopped at the edge of the table just out of his range of visibility. "Finally, it''s a success!" (Voice 1) "Good work Doctor. Today you''ve just made history." (Voice 2) "I told you didn''t I! I said it was possible, I said I''d do it!" (Voice 1) "That you did Doc, that you did..." (Voice 2) "Enough fooling around around you two, look, it''s already awake." (Voice 3) His ''visitors'' had noticed he was awake or to be more precise, one of them did. How though? He hadn''t moved and he''d even managed to slow down his breathing (to the best of his ability) to the point where it should''ve been barely noticeable. He even went as far as to control hisbodies shivering from the cold slab, so how?He decided the answer was unimportant as he suddenly felt the first of instinctualneeds: the need to flee. DANGER,DANGER, DANGER!!! His instincts screamed at him to run, get away from the threat, but he was strapped down to a table unable to accommodatethose needs. No longer could he remain still and coherent as panic gripped him tightly. He thrashed, screamed...well,neighedas loud as he could, while tears began to leak from his eyes. The ''visitors''walked into his panic stricken gaze: there were 3 men in slender white robes with black stars littering the robe. Theirrobe(s) began from theshoulders of the men, it had no hood to speak of, and fell all the way down to the floor, effectively covering any footwear that were to be seen. A hand reached out to pet him as he stared wide-eyed at the 3 men, his breathing turned erratic. The owner of the hand that had reached out to pet him had begun to gently coo at him as if he were a human child. The man attempted to stroke the side of his face in an effort to tryto calm him, but it was to no avail. When the 2 other men came to therealization that calming him gently was no longer an optionthey removed their comrades'' hand from his tear stained face and in its place a hand holding an odd smelling cloth was shoved over both his mouthand nose... and then his conciseness, unwilling, faded into the darkness along with his mind. __________________________________________________________________________________________ The Voices POV The three men turned the knob on the door and quickly entered the room to see if their project had met with failure or not. The project entailed splicing the DNA or fusing of multiple Magical Beast into one entity. They labeled that entity as a Chimera, however over the years the project had been attempted many times only for it to fail and eventually the Chimera was spoken of as nothing but a myth or complete nonsense since everyone who had ever tried to create one reported that it couldn''t be done.. These men, however, did not feel the creation of a Chimera was impossible so when asked by their funding parties what they wanted to work on next they answered with, ''Chimera'' and logically all funding was cut off by said parties until they would choose a project that wasn''t just an empty dream. ...The men refused, they rented out a small house for the project, took their equipment (most belonged to their funders so they couldn''t take it), and began the long process of creating the very first Chimera the world had ever seen. One of the three men, short with blonde hair, practically runs to stone table, where the fusing of multiple Magical Beast occurred just minutes ago, afterhaving noticed that nothing has blood on it. As the blonde comes to halt at the table he can see the others standing beside him looking just as excited as he is. He decides he wants to be the one to say it first as he stares at the life form that is magically strapped to the table. "Finally, it''s a success!" He says, his voice practically radiating happiness. "Good work Doctor. Today you''ve just made history." A brown haired man comments a bit sneakily, clearly upset he didn''t get to say it was a success first. "I told you didn''t I! I said it was possible, I said I''d do it!" The blonde continues ignoring the comment. "That you did Doc, that you did..." Brown hair says less snarky and more like bubbles of happiness are trying to come to the surface but are having a hard time getting there. "Enough fooling around around you two, look, it''s already awake." The other two glance at their most silent companion and friend, his face is stoic but he''s fidgeting like a child who knows he''s getting desert after dinner but doesn''t want to wait that long to eat it. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. Noticing that they are still looking at him the silent but stoic man shakes his head swinging his long black ponytail left and right before pointing directly at the thing on the table, even when silent his intentions always seem to get through, as the two stop staring at him and start staring at it. Suddenly, as all eyes were directed upon it the thing on the table started to thrash about in the Magical Strappings placed on the table. Almost like it knew it couldn''t escape it started to horrifically scream, no... neigh, at them. Looking closer one could almost say it was crying, but was utterly ridiculous. Whatever had happened to upset the new life form the men knew they needed to calm it down, so they did what anyone would do. They walked slowly, non-threateningly, into its'' view (but he could swear the only thing that accomplished was upsetting it more) stopping at the very edge of the table. There was no hesitating when it came to deciding who would calm it, after all they''d planed out this project thoughly. The snarky, brown haired man reached out to touch the newly created Magical Beast, he stroked it gently on the cheek and cooed at it as if it were a baby (which it technically was). As he continued to pet the Magical Beast he took note of its'' size and shape. The Beast was about as large as a horse, and instead of fur like a normal horse would have it had scales, orange in color, although there was some fur or rather a red mane around its'' neck and then some red fur also on tip of its'' tail.A little horn was also coming out of its'' head but it was small, weak looking, like it break if not careful. There weren''t any claws, only hoofs he didn''t look to see what kind of teeth he knew they''d find that out later, if it ate meat or vegetables ... or both. Its'' breathing turned erratic as his mind wondered, quickly he towards the the others for help. They couldn''t let it die from lack of air due to its'' unfounded fear of them. The others understood without words as they grabbed a clothe and a bottle from underneath the table (they''d thought about things like this a lot so the three of them sort of turned the entire house into a ''keep it alive'' house) they poured the contents inside the bottle onto the clothe and carefully put it over new borns'' nose and mouth, waiting for it to pass out. It did not take long for it to go to sleep under the clothes influence. Taking the clothe away from its'' nose and mouth the blonde man spoke up, "It''s not very brave is it..." Scowling at the blonde, a reply erupted from the mouth of the brown haired man, who had just been petting the creature moments ago, " that''s pretty damn obvious, isn''t it!" A loud clap silenced the two of them. The man with the black ponytail gave them both disapproving looks. "Sorry," said the blonde haired man. "Me too, " added the brown haired man. The room fell quite. "...so," the blonde man said, "what are we going to do now. I mean, showing it off to others right now will in all likely hood, cause its'' death...so.." The brown haired man shrugged, he was great with animals and Magical Beast but that didn''t mean you just change their temperament. If it was a coward, then it would stay a coward no buts about it. The silent man with his black ponytail remained quite for a minute more before speaking, "...what if we intergrate it into a Magic Acadamy, put out on loan to the school to be a Familiar." The two men laughed at first they were going to reject the idea but it came from ''Mr. Silent'' so they knew there had to be more to it than that, something they weren''t seeing. Then it hit them: "Agreed," the two said simultaneously, reaching for the phone to call a Magic School. The silent man snatched the phone away from the two men he thought of as spoiled children and dialed a number. Instantly another voice came through the phone as he fiddled with his black ponytail and made his sales pitch, "that''s right, a Chimera....no, it''s not a joke. ....I''ll, We''ll loan it to a Magic School...there is a catch....the temperament....no, no, not like that just cowardly....alright, deal." He turned to other two who were all but jumping up and down in excitement and said, "The one and only Chimera has been loaned to use as a Familiar in a Magic school." With the deal done they knew what they had accomplished meant that the creation of Chimera was no longer just an empty dream, it was a reality and one they would gladly take advantage of. If they had created one then what was to stop them from creating more, many, many more...... Chapter 2: His New World Chapter 2: His New World He woke up in a cage surrounded by darkness. The cage seemed to slide around a bit in the darkness hitting the sides of whatever he was in... a truck maybe he didn''t know. His heart pounded loudly in panic, as the cage continued to slide along inside the darkness in a more haphazardly way. Where was he going, he wondered this through his panicked mind, and why were they doing this to him? What did he do to deserve this!? was it because of what he did in his former life, the plan, his suicide? Why, it was his life and he should be able to do whatever the hell he wants with it! His panic turned into fury at the last thought but it quickly dissipated as the cage slid up against a wall and he ended up banging his head into the cage bars. The cage withholding him stopped sliding. Did the, he assumed it was a truck, reach its destination? Light shot into the cage as a tarp covering the back of the mobile thing he had been riding (which was certainly not a truck by the looks of it) was removed by several humans. As the humans closed the distance between them and his cage he backed himself up as far as he could into a corner of the cage. The humans didn''t speak to him as they went about there work, hauling him and his cage outside the mobile thing. They hauled the cage along with him inside, up a small hill, adjacent to the small hill was a a clear blue stream. After hauling him and the cage to the top of the small hill theythenproceeded down the other side into forest that he thought had a that had dark and forbidding feel to it. When the humans felt they''d gone deep enough into the eerie forest they dropped the cage. That''s right, dropped it and not gently either. It came down with a loud THUMP and startled snort from the one inside the cage. After having dropped the the cage one of the humans took out a key from a bag that hung around their waist and unlocked the cage. Next, the humans, that hadn''t taken out the key, grabbed few stones from the forest floor. The ground, having been being practically buried in leafs, the humans had to dig quite a bit to even find dirt let alone a rock or stone. Having no idea what the humans were up to the caged being didn''t move. However, that wasn''t what the humans wanted it seemed as they yelled at the caged being, or him if you prefer, in a words he didn''t understand because he was no longer human. The humans pointed deeper into the forest when they realized he didn''t understand them. No, no, no, no, no, they couldn''t actually want him leave the cage and stay here in this forest, could they!!? He may look like a monster (although he has no idea what he looks like ''cause he has never seen himself before) but he still has the mind of a human! They can''t do this to him!! He''ll never survive on his own!!! Without waiting for him to move the humans began to throw the stones that they had worked so hard to find on the forest floor, at him. As one of the stones hit its'' intended target, which was one of his back legs he let a loud pained neigh and kicked out instinctively the back of the cage with his hooves. The humans shouted more in their unascertainable language and continued to throw stones at him. As more and more of humans'' stones began to hit their intended target, he did the only thing he could do... he dashed out of the unlocked cage door and into the stupid forest, that seemed to get darker with every step he took, with tears in his eyes...again. He''d already cried like a baby twice, how humiliating, why did he have to be reincarnated anyway? Couldn''t God just leave him alone, he didn''t want to live as a human so what the hell made God think he''d want to live as a monster!? Fucking ridiculous!!! This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. The forest leafs silently dropped from the sturdy tree branches that had held them as he continued running. He heard his hooves pounding the leaves into submission with a ''crunch, crunch''. He wondered if this world had such a thing as Winter, it was cold enough for it and the leafs were falling off the trees leaving it almost bare, not to mention they made a crunching sound every time he stepped on one. Too tired to continue to run he skidded to a halt, throwing up tiny pebbles, twigs and lots of leafs, in his wake. He was left gasping for breath and as he breathed in and out clouds of ice could be seen forming in his breathe, now paying attention to his surroundings he could feel a chill in air all about him that hadn''t been there before. His eyes ghosted over the frost covered ground where he stood, he noted the frost spread further up, traveling across the trunks of a group of trees in his view. Shit, it really is cold out here and the sun was still up! He thought to himself. He heard a grunt from behind one of the frost covered trees, curious, he moved slowly towards the noise. As more and more frost covered trees came into view he noted how they seemed withered and old even though a few had only recently been planted.Weird, he thought. He stopped when he saw a white ass, not a human ass but a horses ass, standing behind one of the trees that was cloaked in frost the rest of its'' body was obscured from his view by the large trunk of the tree. "H-hello," he stuttered to the horses ass. He was assuming since he wasn''t human that he could talk to other non-humans. The horses ass stiffened, its'' tail flicked sideways like it would when dealing with an annoying fly. The ass then stepped out from behind the tree and he discovered It was not a horse...but a Unicorn. He stared at the golden horn on its'' head then let his eyes roam over its'' snow white fur. It was the most beautifully thing he''d ever seen. Its'' blackened eyes landed on him and the air seemed to shift somehow, like it had gotten colder. Then it turned its'' face so he could get a good look at the other half of its'' face...and he stepped back inhaling sharply. What the hell!? Half the Unicorn face was gorgeous, the prettiest thing he''d ever witnessed but the other half.. The other half of the Unicorns'' face had been torn off revealing the bone and scar tissue, blood had long dried, in its'' face. The Unicorns'' eyeball dangled from its'' eye socket just barley attached by a thin nerve, it bounced up and down with every movement from the Unicorn. The Unicorns'' lips looked like it had been eaten right off, just devoured without a second thought to its'' owner. The tongue fell through a hole the side of the Unicorns'' mouth, even it had a chunk missing from it! What kind of fucked up world was this!? This was definitely NOT what he was used to seeing and it only reinforced the knowledge that this was going to be his new world whether he wanted or not... and it was a dangerous world.
