《The Anomaly: The Elemental Saga》 Prologue This is the first story I have ever written. English is my first language, so expect proper grammar throughout the whole story. I am currently in high school, so releases may be erratic and unplanned. I will try to get at least 1 or 2 chapters out a week. I am going to do my best to conclude this story, but things may come up in life. However, I will only drop this story under very important circumstances. Or if everybody hates this story. The story will include topics from both western and eastern cultures.
Year 2335. New Empire of America. In a hallway of the Haze Family''s Manor. A middle-aged man can be seen pacing back and forth in front of a semi-ornate door. The man has short, straight, brown hair and deep, brown eyes. Behind the door, the sounds of a woman in labor continuously leak out. Besides the man, 2 other people are present in the hallway, a man and a woman, both equally as nervous as the man himself. "It''s going to be okay, Blake. Just think about other things." says the woman, Anne, who has long, black hair that reaches her waist. "How can you be so calm right now, Anne? The man''s wife is about to have their first child." The other man, who happens to be Anne''s husband, has short, blonde hair that stops at his shoulders.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! "I''m not calm, John. In fact, I''m dying to find out what gender the child will be. I better be the godmother if it''s a girl, Blake." "Will both of you please be quiet! And where did that thought even come from, Anne?"Blake yells in exasperation. "I''ve been hoping to become the child''s godmother ever since I found out Talia was pregnant." Anne responds with a hint of annoyance in her tone. She wasn''t used to being yelled at by Blake. "Everybody, let''s just calm down...So, Blake, what are you gonna name the kid?" asks the ever-curious John. "If it''s a boy, Samuel. If it''s a girl, then Samantha. Tal and I have been talking about it for a few months n-" "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!" A ear-shattering scream interrupts Blake, sending his thoughts into disarray. He charges into the room, frightening the female attendent, who was holding a white bundle of cloth in her hands. A bundle of cloth that was emitting the cries of a baby. "I-is that our child?" Asks Blake, in the most confident voice he could muster. Talia, whose long blonde hair gracefully flows over her shoulders, shifts her head in response. "Yes. This is our son. Say hi to little Sammy." The attendent hands the bundle of cloth, identified as "Sammy," to Blake, who is on the verge of tears. Blake gazes into the eyes of his child. However, as the seconds go by, he notices something. Something about Sam''s eyes that he didn''t notice at first glance. "It, it can''t be. We have no talent in either of our families..." thought Blake. What he noticed was quite peculiar indeed. Sam, his first-born, had silver eyes. Chapter 1 I feel like I messed something up this chapter. It just feels off. If you notice it too, please tell me in the comments. By the way, I changed "Haze household" into "Haze Family''s Manor in the prologue.
The Haze household was peaceful for the first few months after Sam''s birth. However, one morning when Talia was cleaning the dishes in the kitchen sink, she noticed a lack of noise coming from the adjacent dining room. That room happened to be the room that Sam''s playpen inhabited, and the room that Sam wassupposed to be in. Talia, being the perfect mother that she was, decided that it was time to check on her little baby boy. Yet, when the playpen enters her sight- "NOOOOOOO!!!!!" Blake, who was still asleep, opened his eyes and jumped out of bed instantly. He grabbed the sword that was mounted on the wall next to him and runs down the stairs. When he gets there, he sees his wife sobbing hysterically by their son''s empty playpen. "What happened? Where''s Sammy!?" yells Blake, almost in tears himself. He can''t stand the thought of something happening to his only son. "I-I don''t know...I was *hic* doing the d-dishes and *hic* came to check on him. He wasn''t here! Blake, Sammy''s missing!" Talia manages to form a sentence, despite the river of tears forming from her eyes. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. Blake felt like he was responsible. After all, he was taught by his father that the man of the house should protect the family. However, before Blake had a chance to shed a single tear, Sam''s parents hear a loud shout outside of the dining room door. "Master, Mistress! Come quick! The young master is in the gardens!" It was the attendant that helped birth Sam. Talia is at a loss for words, while Blake''s eyes almost pop out of his head. In the next second, the both of them are running through the door with the attendant barely keeping up. When they reach the gardens, they see Sam sitting on the grass with a flower in his hands and a crowd of gardeners and attendants surrounding him. "Did anyone see how he got here!?" Blake shouts at the group of people crowding his son. Even though they were frightened by their master''s tone of voice, a few managed to tell the couple what had happened. "No, sir. We were all going about our duties when we suddenly heard the cry of a baby. A few of us went to investigate the noises, and discovered the young master sitting on the grass." One of the gardeners mentioned. "We just stood there, staring at him dumbly for a while before we realized he was still crying. So we called some of the guards and attendants to this area to try and entertain him ." One of the guards that was on-duty said. "Then I started to run towards the bedroom, but I heard the mistress'' shout, so I came to the dining room instead." The attendant, who just managed to catch up to the couple, pitched in to the conversation as well. "So no one knows how he got here...Alright, everyone back to your duties!" Blake picks up his son from the grass and carries him back inside, with Talia at his heels. ... A few months have gone by after Sam''s first mysterious appearance in the gardens. After that incident occured, it repeated happened twice more before he was put under constant guard. It started to lessen after the guards were assigned to guard him. However, Sam would still be found in odd places from time to time. This continued for multiple years, until Sam was 3 years old. Chapter 2 A 6 1/2 year old boy could be seen in a courtyard, playing with a 3 year old girl. The boy, of course, was Samuel Haze, while the girl was his little sister, Catherin. His sister had blonde hair, like their mother, while he took after their father, with a head full of brown hair. The brother-sister duo were in the middle of playing a game of tag when all of a sudden- ¡°Sam, hurry and bring Cathy to the front yard! Anne and John are here with Brian and Maria!¡± It was their mother¡¯s shouting that they heard. John and Anne Stoll are the Haze¡¯s closest friends. The four adults, John, Blake, Anne, and Talia, used to be in a small mercenary group before the two couples married. John and Anne have 2 children, a girl Cathy¡¯s age and a 10 year old boy.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. John is an Elemental of the Earth attribute, which helped their mercenary group complete many missions. His eyes are a bright yellow, like lightning. John himself says his eyes are the color of his favorite comic book superhero¡¯s symbol. He likes the Flash, from the days before Elementals, something which Blake cannot fathom. It should be noted that Blake dislikes the mention of the days before the Great Calamity, even though he himself isn¡¯t an Elemental. The moment Sam and Cathy reach the front yard, a giggling flash of long, red hair tackles Cathy to the ground. That flash of red hair is Maria, who happens to be Cathy¡¯s best friend. After Sam helps the two of them get up, he notices a figure he has never seen before. An old man with a greying beard and a bald head. His back was straight, yet the strangest thing about him was his eyes. They were white, like a blind man¡¯s. However, he was smiling straight at Sam, looking directly into the boy¡¯s silver eyes.
ANNOUNCEMENT I am both sorry and happy to say that this story is going to be dropped. It is my fault. I rushed the beginning and now I have no idea on how to continue. On the bright side, as compensation, I will make a similar story, one that is less rushed. When I say similar, it is because the MC''s will have similar abilities. In all honesty, this will be a reincarnation story. However, the MC won''t retain his past life''s memories. They will be sealed, and their has to be a catalyst to unseal them. More will be revealed in the story itself. The reincarnation won''t be cliche, mainly so I can tolerate my own story, the MC won''t really have any blessings from the God that reincarnates him. And the God that he meets will bebased off my own beliefs. (So s/he''ll be a being that is relatable to.)Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. Furthermore, the new story will be more fantasy based. It will be more midieval and less sci-fi. There will be some science elements, however, the concept of laser beams and fighter jets and what-not won''t exist. Plus, there will be more humanoid races, along with humans. Expect to see some half-breeds and full-blown dragons. Sorry I just got this out. I have had so much going on right now in real life. One of my sisters has cancer, and she has one more round of chemo left. I am constantly studying for tests, mainly Latin, since that class has more tests than others. Mostly a test every 1-2 weeks. I also had a debate last saturday that I was constantly preparing for. Sorry for getting your hopes up, whoever you may be. Expect the new story within 3 days. I am about the start writing it.
