《The coming of the Angel》
Prologue - The birth of the angel
At the very top of the world, there lived angels, from the highest ranking seraphims to the lowest of angels. There it was a grand civilisation, where the angels watched over mankind, as ordered of their creator.
Despite the normal beliefs that humans usually associate angels with, they had their own land and form of currency. The murals that depicted the angels were old and outdated. The only reason that it was that way was because the angels that were tasked to head down to earth wore what was minimum in the beginning because it was easier that way. When the angels tried to ''modernise'', the reaction were hilarious.
When compared with the human race, one could not blame how advanced the angels were. The level of intelligence in the land of man was simply too low at the moment for them to understand. The angels had science and magic on their side, while the humans had just began to utilize magic as a form of protection.
Watching over the human race, it was sometimes hard enough not to facepalm in frustration and anger at the actions this primitive civilization took. They experimented with dropping meteors, that had valuable metal and materials that could improve their standard of living. Instead, the people just ended up worshipping it.
Lucifer, one of the head angels could only roll around and laugh, as the attempts got worse. She clutched her stomach when they offered a sacrifice to the ball of fire. Her stomach hurts from all the laughing, she could notstand upproperly.
As one of the head angels, Lucifer had free reign of her actions. One could compare her to those lazy people in class, yet able to pass every test as one of the top students. Her beauty was dazzling to the other because of her angel status and held skills that would make any hero drool and beg for. Her only flaw was being stubborn and lazy.
Gabriel, another head angel, occasionally visited Lucifer that was locked up in her room. And today, she did the same thing, visiting her good friend after shutting herself in for a decade.
A gentle knock and a muffled voice replied.
Gabriel, at her best was dazzling, rivaling Lucifer in beauty. They both had dazzling long hair, that shone and threatens to blind anyone who dares to look at it directly if not prepared. Their bodies were a symbol of worship that any man dare not to look away. Donning a simple white dress that easily wrapped around their bodies, it was simply mesmerizing.
Even so...
With all that beauty, what Gabriel saw when she entered her room, forced her grimace in disgust, something that was rare and unheard of. What she saw was a typical NEET situation, snacks thrown all around, the room was an absolute mess.
Lucifer hanged her head back to look at her visitor only to find a pair of hand that threaten to poke her eyes out.
"MY EYES! GABRIEL, STOP!!!"
"YOU. LAZY. FOOL. WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING?!"
Emphasizing on every word, Gabriel poked her nails into Lucifer''s eyes and she screamed in pain.
"Owowowow!"
Running around like a headless chicken, Gabriel sighed in annoyance and turned to what was she doing. What would the other angels say? Nothing! Because she was simply too eccentric to handle and no one dared to defy her like what Gabriel did.
While Lucifer healed her eyes with a swipe of her hand as she calmed down, Gabriel was more interesting at the ''thing'' at her table. It was a body that was similar to a young human girl, except it was pale white and lacked any possible orifices. It looked it those mannequins that one could put armor on.
"...Dare I ask what is this...body? Is it a body anyway?"
"Ahhh...it hurts...Gabriel!"
"What."
"N-Nothing..."
Lucifer smiled in annoyance. Her eyes were all healed but it was always a painful process to do so. Rubbing her eyes, Gabriel could only smiled as her anger faded. Over so long, there was always a nostalgic feeling between the two.Stolen novel; please report.
Lucifer climbed into Gabriel''s arms, forcing Gabriel to carry her like a princess, copying how the heroes did whenever they saved the damsel in distress. Letting her arms go around Gabriel''s neck, she snuggled into her ample bosom and sighed.
"Well?"
"Hmm...let me stay like this for a bit..."
Lucifer snuggled for a bit, before letting one of arms free and snapped her fingers. Her room instantly was cleaned up and what traces of dirt and dust disappeared. She snapped a second time and the ''body'' that Gabriel was concerned with sat up.
"So, for the past...10 hours...how goes the human world?"
"Hmm. 10 years for the world below. But, to answer, nothing much as you can imagine."
"Ahh...it''s still the same huh?" Lucifer giggled. "No matter. So as you can see Gabriel, I created a homunculus!"
"It''s certainly well made...but it seems lacking for now." Gabriel nodded with approval.
"Yes! This one is my best one yet. The materials are of the highest quality, the skin was especially hard to get right without destroying it with my mana."
"Would your plan work? I mean..." Gabriel sighed as she rolled her eyes. "The meteors aren''t working so far at all."
Lucifer''s plan was simply weird, even for the creator himself to accept. She wanted to send one of her daughters down to learn what the human race has to offer. If it goes well, maybe she could even learn from the beastman, elves and other races. Even from the demons.
"She would be the sign of a new world...if your plan worked."
Lucifer sighed as Gabriel commented. Her plan had a major flaw. Her attempts in creating a being to do this task was simply too much for any''body'' to handle. Her first few attempts had the body exploded due to the mana intake.
"I-It will! I made sure with absolute attention to the composition and materials! Right now, I just need to create a personality for her."
"I see...make sure she doesn¡¯t get your perverted tendencies."
"Hey!"
"All I see is the delicate workmanship...and the intricate designs that one would barely see."
Gabriel sighed. The whole body was so well-crafted for normal people to tell that this was a doll. It was a beautifully crafted doll, to the smallest details that includes the female organ. She couldn''t but imagine Lucifer looking herself in the mirror as she crafted the body. Somehow, that was amusing to imagine.
Getting to business, Lucifer removed herself from Gabriel''s embrace. The body was placed in the middle of the now empty room, which Lucifer had cleared with a simple trick. Gabriel stood at the door, waiting patiently as Lucifer started.
She focused her energies as a pentagram formed. The body floated up in the air. The density of the mana in the room soon became so dense that it was possible to kill lower rank angel with such pressure. Lucifer was serious for the first time after so many thousands of years. Her creation will be born.
The body was threatening to explode, but Lucifer didn¡¯t falter. The body was somehow managing to take in that mana. It even surprise Gabriel, as the body started to came to life.
Next, an explosion. The two blinked before the light flashed and the land of angels shook for a moment.
The homunculus body was floating as the dust settled down with a loud snap. What mana that was left was absorbed by the girl''s body.
The two angels stared at the doll-turned girl, wondering if anything was alright. All she did was stare back at them, her head tilted as if she was asking a question. Her body based on the build of young angels and the girl certainly fitted the bill.
Her hair was silver and was slightly shorter as her hair reached down her waist, while Lucifer''s was even longer, way down below her butt. Her eyes were crimson red, the base color for any homunculus. And her body was flawless, there wasn''t a trace of damage from the mana intake on the body. Lucifer was grinning at her handiwork. She motioned the girl to come over to her, and she did.
Getting on all fours, the girls crawled towards to Lucifer and stopped at where her hand was. First Lucifer patted her ''daughter'' on the head, which she reacted by closing her one eye as she ruffled her hair slightly.
"Good, good, her motor functions are normal. Too bad she can only crawl for now..."
Next, Lucifer begin to work her hands all over the girl''s body, pulling her cheeks, prying her mouth as far as she could stretch it, and even rubbing her fingers over the little nubs on the flat area of her torso. The girl felt her body tremble slightly and Gabriel smacked Lucifer over on the head with her fist.
"S.t.o.p."
"I''m just examining her!"
Gabriel raised her two fingers, asserting the fact that her eyes would face her wrath again.
"Okay, okay...Luciel, I''m sorry, ok?"
"Luciel?"
"Isn¡¯t it good, Luciel?"
Now christened as Luciel, she nodded. Lucifer frowned for a moment, trying to find a semblance of a reaction, if there was any at all.
"What''s wrong, Lucifer?"
"Hmm, I guess emotions are too early for her to display..."
Her daughter tilted her head again and Lucifer glomped her .
"Whatever, we have time~"
Gabriel could only sigh and shake her head. Still, the sight before her was hilarious. Watching Lucifer fawning all over her just created daughter, no angel could dare to imagine nor even see this and except to live.
"Pa..Pa?"
Luciel looked at Gabriel as she mumbled out her first words. Lucifer was in shock and so was Gabriel! But for different reasons.
"Luciel, what about me?"
"Ma...Ma?"
Lucifer squealed, her image of an head angel was surely shattered if anyone were to see her in a state like this, hugging her naked daughter that was seemingly emotionless. Gabriel patted Luciel on the head, a soft light glowed.
"Aw, Gabriel. You shouldn''t have." Lucifer chuckled.
"Anything for my daughter." Gabriel chuckled also. "It''s normal for me to me to protect her."
The two discussed about their plans, and Luciel listened. It seemed like they had plans for her. She would soon grow like a normal human would and go on an journey that even the angels could not expect.

Prologue 2 - What does angels like to eat?
Lucifer began to teach Luciel whatever she knew, in preparation for what was coming up for her. But first, there was the problem of her non-existent wings. After a series of weird experiments, from weird mortal lore to angel treatment, tiny wings propped out from her back, attached nicely right around her scapula.
The more power or blessed one was, the bigger the wings will become. Head angels like Lucifer or Gabriel had several wings, a sign of their limitless power. Small wings that belonged to low-ranked angels is sufficient enough to use the power of the creator to save and destroy, but for Lucifel, it looked just like a chick''s wing, after learning about animals.
It was cute, and she didn''t mind it.
But all Luciel had to do was to train and grow and her wing would grow exponentially. In human years, one would near 2 to 3 years to start walking by their own and in that time Luciel was already walking and able to converse properly with her mother. Her learning capacity was outstanding. Gabriel''s blessing was just like a ''EXP boost'' for Luciel.
Her body was able to absorb mana more efficiently. It was like looking at a sponge soaking everything in and is still able to take more.
Luciel had achieved mastery of magic in the basic and intermediate stages. The rest was up to the angel herself to ''unlock''. Likewise, she was trained in the art of war by Gabriel. Her proficiency in the various weapons improved to a extent where she could easily spar with most of the angels. Still, she could not even touch Gabriel or Lucifer.
Whatever free time Luciel had was either spent alone in her room or spent with her parents. Since angels had no facilities for education to speak of, most of was learned was taught byLucifer, with Gabriel interfering whenever she got sidetrackedand acted as a training instructor.
What Gabriel was afraid was having Luciel turning out into another Lucifer. She could not imagine what uproar if the young angel inherited the ''horrible'' personality of the mother.
That said, sometimes the young angelwould grin in a way that reminds her of Lucifer.
Was it too late?
"Mother?"
Luciel was left alone again as she woke up. It became a routine for Luciel to wake up before her mother, then waking her mother up. The most recent attempt had Luciel pouring cold water down her mother''s back, resulting in a piercing scream that sounded like the hymn for the end of the world.
Instead, there was a note floating on the desk and Luciel approached it.
"I will be leaving for a few hours to the human realm, since they needed me to remove that meteor...behave yourself, mmaky? With love, Lucifer."
Luciel nodded and the note burned itself up, leaving no traces of it. In her line of sight, there was a plate of white object wrapped in red skin. She was curious.
She poked it, sniffed it and even touched it. She couldn''t infer anything from that. She wondered what could this thing be, to the point of being irritated. For her to unable to comprehend something like this, it was her first time experiencing this feeling.
"Luciel, are you in?"
Gabriel stepped in andstopped in her tracks. Watching Luciel staring so hard at the plate of apples, she could think of a few possible scenarios. The most logical one was the mother was lazy and forget that she left the plate of apples out. But it wasn''t any ordinary apple.
A apple that grew in Eden, it was valuable and extended one''s lifespan. But it was just something angels can enjoy, since they do not suffer from aging. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"Papa?"
Rusting her hair, Gabriel chuckled as she took a slice of apple up. Then Luciel watched. She mimicked what Gabriel was doing, but hesitated as Gabriel bit a chunk of apple off. Gabriel smiled, giving Luciel a peace of mind.
She bit off a small piece and chewed slowly. All she was doing was copying what Gabriel did, her first time having consumed something that was edible. Her eyes opened wider, in shock and awe and surprised. So many mixture of emotions came at once.
She was happy that this was something yummy. She was surprised that it was something to eat and tasted delicious. She couldn''t describe the ''taste'', but it made her calm. She was shock that such a small slice contained so much power, that it was scary. Then she was impressed and in awe of this amazing item called the apple.
Gabriel couldn''t help but hug her daughter. She was glad that she was here to see this. It was something to brag about to Lucifer.
One day, Luciel was assertive.
"...Mother?"
A hesitant voice. Lucifer dropped whatever she was doing and immediately focus all her attention she can muster on her daughter. It was a rare occurrence that her daughter would act like this. She grabbed hold of Luciel''s hands together and nodded.
"Anything for you, Luciel."
"What is ice-cream?"
"Huh? Oh, that?"
Lucifer blinked as she thought about it.
"I think it''s easier to show you. Let''s go for a walk outside."
They headed out together after taking an hour to settle on what clothes should Luciel wear. In the end, she wore a sundress with a straw hat, while Lucifer was dressed in her angel outfit, plus with pants. The domain of angels was always well kept, so there was no need for shoes.
They flew to the park. By the way, since Luciel could not manage with her wings yet, Lucifer carried her in her arms.
The park had trees that are never seen on the world below. Those are what the angels named mana trees. It was a source of light itself when at night, and allows anyone to replenish their mana if they desire so. Thus, it was a place where celestial beings gathered occasionally, and one might glimpse sucha creature from the legends resting at the place.
The moment when Lucifer let her angel down, she was staring at everything. The head angel dragged her daughter to a bench, telling her to wait there. Luciel only replied with a nod as she looked around.
The smell was different. She could only understand that this was the smell of nature, though artificial. Luciel could not sit still, her instinct telling her to run around and explore. There were other angels here to and they were all staring in her direction.
They were trying their hardest not to, but even angels sometimes succumb to their desires.
"Who''s that angel?"
"Did you see that, that angel was carried by the head angel!"
"Is she a relative?"
"She looks like the head angel..."
"Aww..."
Lucifer was amused as she observed the scene unfolding. She took the ice cream, vanilla flavored, from the vendor and got herself a popsicle. Ah, the amazing creation of humanity. What will she ever do if she didn¡¯t find out about these delicious treats in other dimensions.
The gasps and whisper became louder as Lucifer returned. She handed the ice cream to her daughter, telling her to grab the bottom part. She could see the sparkles in the young angel''s eyes. Lucifer wished she had her memory device, which was called a camera back down in the human realm.
She controlled herself. She was the head angel and it won''t do any good to her to ruin her image.
It was too cute though.
Lucifer patted her daughter on the head. That was the best she can go without glomping her.
"Mother...so this is vanilla?"
"Yes, isn¡¯t it delicious? Too bad the world we are in now lack good food like this."
"Oh...yes, it''s great!"
Such a cheerful girl. Lucifer felt her heart sank, a certain emotion bubbled in her heart. Was she really going to let her girl down to this world, where anything can happen. The heavens shook as her thoughts went wild. There was even the sound of thunder cracking, a sign of the end of the world.
There was a slight panic as the bystanders watched Lucifer changed her form out of nowhere. It stopped so suddenly as it started when Luciel grasped her mother''s hand.
"Mother?"
Instantly, everything turned back to normal. Lucifer wiped her eyes and smiled back at her worried girl. The other angels dare not imagine what would happen if it had escalated even further.
"It''s okay...thank you dear."
Lucifer tightened her grip, thanking the creator. It will be alright, she can feel it. She continued watching Lucielas she tried to finish her ice cream and returned back home the same way they arrived.
When they reached home, Luciferwas scolded by Gabriel. The tee-hee! didn''t help as Gabriel smacked her head in irritation.

Prologue 3 – A fateful encounter
Lucifer''s plan soon came into motion. To get into detail, her plan was to basically improve the situation on the world below. The meteor plan was just one example that failed badly. There were some suggestions of wiping the earth with some sort disasterbut Lucifer deemed it to be dumb and a waste of mana.
Luciel was the key part in her plan. Hopefully her presence would do something to invoke changes, no matter how big or small, it was a step forward nonetheless. Only Lucifer believed in that. And because no other plans have worked so far, she had this chance to prove to the other angels, including her peers.
Rome wasn''t built in a day after all.
Luciel, dressed in the native outfit of the land, stared at the mirror. It was a simple tunic that covered her body well, along with a long plain skirt with leather shoes. Her silver hair was the only eye-catching part of her body that people would consider taking a second, third look at.
Lucielwanted to bring her favorite katana with her, but it would be rather weird if she was carrying around with her.
"Well, take this with you."
"A pendant?"
"It''s something that I..."
After a lengthy explanation, Luciel could only understand that the pendant was a link to a sub-dimensional pocket that allowed her to keep her inventory of items in. All Luciel had to do was to link her mana with her body, meaning contact at all times. She can imagine what she wants to take in the inventory and take the desired object out.
Luciel nodded as her eyes sparkled at the wonders of her mother''s invention. She gave it a test run, using her mana as she linked up with the pendant.

"Luciel, I prepared the minimum for you. I don''t want you to rely too much on me, okay?"
"Yes, mother..." Luciel smiled and hugged her mother"Thank you for taking care of me for all this time."
"...Of course, what are you saying, child."
Lucifer pulled Luciel hard into her embrace. She has seen hundreds, if not thousands of families by separated. Slavery, famine, murder, all sorts of reasons that numbed her. Yet, only once in her long life has she felt the fear of losing a love one.
Her time with her daughter was short yet so fulfilling.
She only wished that her life to be extinguished before Luciel''s, for this pain was unbearable.
Gabriel joined them after Lucifer was done preparing. She gently kissed Luciel on the head, wishing her luck.
"Remember what we have taught you, okay?"
"Yes, father."
"The next time we meet...you will be all grown up."
Gabriel smiled sadly but stared firm at her daughter. Luciel nodded, smiling back.
-----------------------
The head angels gathered at the magic transfer gate. It was a old ancient device that uses mana to transfer one from a location to another. If a mortal was lucky, he or she could chance upon the gate anywhere in the world and will be granted a chance to live as one of them, or so the saying goes.
Luciel stood in the circle. There were other angels that she have never seen before gathered at the area and at the front there was her parents and two other angels that gently smiled at her. A mature looking angel with blonde curls and a angel with flaming red hair. They acknowledged her with a smile, wishing her luck.
Lucifer and Gabriel stood next to them, their gaze was firm. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Luciel closed her eyes as the four head angels sang in harmony.
The lower ranking angels followed acting as the choir.
The circle activated and the girl was gone.
A beautiful song reserved for those worthy of it, it was a shame that she couldn''t hear the whole song.
--------------------------------
Luciel materialized as she landed in the woods...of somewhere. The magic circle that teleported her disappeared into mana and will require her to find a gate somewhere in the world. For now, she breathed in the fresh air around her.
"This is..."
The smell of trees and grass, of mother nature that was taught by her parents. It was something that the angels was trying to replicate but failed on every ocassion. Somehow, Luciel knew why. It was almost impossible to create something so delicate, it was different when she was at the park with her mother.
The first thing she was told to do was to check her status after reaching the mortal realm.
"Status."

"Hmm."
Lucielnodded and closed the status window. She began to walk, not knowing what her destination was. For now, all she could do was to walk. The afternoon sun was refreshing as Lucielwalked through the woods.
"This world...is so different." Lucifer smiled as she watched the animals appear one by one.
Her angelic presence was strong enough to calm the animals down. She was harmless in their eyes, but even the feral animals dare not touch her. Potential threats like wolves and killer rabbits could only hide when she approached close enough.
"Hmmm...could I turn it off?" Luciel wondered.
It was possible, but no one actually taught her to do so. But with a single thought, it was ''turned'' off. The feral animals kept their distance still. Even without it, the animals could tell her strength and power. All her time spent training wasn''t for show after all.
------------
Hours passed and Luciel sighed as she walked out into a open space. She was still ways of from the nearest town but she had no way of knowing. At least she could take a break here.
"Signs...of life." Luciel mumbled as she sat down in the middle. "The branches are still warm..."
There were signs of people here before her. Luciel wondered how would they look like. Do they look like her? Or were they elves, beastmenor even demons?
As she almost dozed off in her sitting posture, several screams echoed from within the depths of the forest. Luciel opened her eyes, almost mechanically-like and tilted her head.
"Oh?"
She stood up when a mangled body appeared. A man that was almost on the verge of dying. His face was almost tore apart by wolves.
"Haah!"
Luciel slashed right above the man. The feral wolf that chased him was sliced into half. The man groaned in pain as Luciel approached. He grabbed her hand as Luciel reached out to him.
"...H-Help...m..."
He pointed into the forest. Luciel nodded and smiled at the man. The man gasped as he saw the image of the angel before him.
"...Than...you...ange..."
The man passed away peacefully, as if at ease. Luciel closed the man''s eyes, chanting for the man. Then she ran into the forest. Screams and cries of help were louder as Luciel came closer.
"Is it there...?"
"...Hiyahh!"
"Ugh!"
She saw a scene of bloodshed as she arrived on the scene. There was a pack of wolves that surrounded the group.A lonefemale warrior stood as protection as she protected the group of people behind her. She was tired and her wounds were severe. The group were yelling and crying for helping, serving to fuel the wolves in their attacks.
Luciel frowned and stepped forward.
The wolves immediately stopped in their tracksas Luciel walked towards them. The pack jumped upon her, surrounding the female angel as they realize the danger before them. The female warrior kneel on the ground, panting heavily as she used her wooden shield forsupport.
She wanted to yell for the girl to run. Why was she even here?!
But...
The wolves jumped. A flash of metal and somewere immediately dispatched. Luciel kneel, her crimson eyes gleamed as she sheathed her blade. The female warrior was watching a dance of death as each swing of the girl''s blade sliced the wolves with no hesitation. The blood was fresh red on Luciel, staining her dress and her body.
It barely took her any effort to dispatch the wolves.
The remaining wolves that were smart enough ran away. Lucielignored the looks from the group andsmiled as she approached the female warrior and reached her hand out.
"Are you okay?"
Chapter 1 - Town ahoy!
"Are you okay?"
A beautiful, chilling voice. The female warrior blinked as she stared at the girl that saved them. She reached out in response. She was still trying to comprehend what had happened. In a flash, the wolves ran away from the girl, with that weird sword stance that she had never seen before.
The girl''s hair glowed in the evening sun. She waited and tilted her head as her hand never moved away. The female warrior diverted her eyes away, somewhat flustered. Reaching her hand out, the girl''s hand was so soft and tender.
It was like meeting an angel.
"Here..."
The angel-like girl closed her eyes as she tightened her grip. Magical energy poured into the female warrior, her energy recovering quickly. The smaller wound healed nicely but the nasty cuts was still bleeding.
"I healed your wounds, butthe rest needs some time to heal."
A smile that could melt hearts.
Luciel led the way after the female warrior told her the direction. The family of nobles walked behind the female warrior, occasionally grumbling and complaining about their situation. The head of the family was especially infuriated.
"Alica!"
"Yes, master Borgen?"
The female warrior sighed and turned to face her employer. What a day.
"I am not going to pay for that girl''s share, you hear me?"
"Y-Yes, of course." Alica nodded. "What a pain...this man should be happy that he lived!"
A man with considerable wealth and sporting a large belly, Borgen was a man that held considerable influence as a merchant and a dealer in the black market. It was because of him that his family had a place in the royal capital. He dealt in murder, slavery, whatever one can think of to earn as much profit as possible.
This trip was no exception. He hired the two adventurers because of their low fees. And the leader had a good reputation that makes it even better. Yet in that battle, it was the man that ran away first as soon as the group of wolves appeared.
How frustrating for Borgen. He will have to demand their pay to be cut because of their incompetence.
The female warrior was called Alica. Sporting a decent height for a girl at her age, she became an adventurer when she had to find a way to earn money for her family. She had jet black hair, just reaching her shoulders and it stayed that way ever since she started adventuring. Her leather attire offered proper protection, that was fitting as her role as a scout and warrior in the team. One could almost pass her off as a guy, if they didn''t look at her in the face.
Alica could still feel her heart pounding hard. This was the first time that she risked her life like this. The wolves were especially strong compared to the times she was out hunting for their pelts. She could tell that the wolves were trained, the way the group attacked was abnormal.
If it wasn¡¯t for the girl, she would have been killed like how her partner met his end. She had feelings of guilt and anger mixed. Gordon was a more experienced adventure and his plan to separate the wolves away from them failed, if it wasn¡¯t for the panicked screams.
She should have been the decoy.
She blamed herself.
Then she felt someone holding her hand.
The girl. She somehow got near her without any sound. A smile, that was befitting of an angel. Alice could only smile back.
Is it this really okay, Alica muttered deep in her heart.
Luciel could sense the negative feelings build up in the warrior. It wasn¡¯t much but she learnt from her mother of how humans comfort each other. She could piece one and one together, deducing that the man that appeared before her was trying to led the wolves away but he somehow failed.
At least she did something good. Luciel was happy that the warrior smiled back at her. It was a good sign.
¡°What¡¯s your name?¡±
Alice blinked as her mind came to a stop. Luciel did the same thing again, tilting her head to the side.
¡°A-Alica, I¡¯m a rank D adventurer.¡±
¡°Rank D?¡±
¡°Hm, I just started out recently. What about you?¡±
¡°I¡¯m Luciel...um, I don''t have a rank."
¡°You don''t have one¡you aren¡¯t from the capital?¡±
"The capital?"
With her skills, Alica was expecting this girl to be someone powerful from the capital. She took out her guild card and showed it to Luciel.
¡°This is how people like us become adventurers. I¡¯ll explain more when we reach town, since you have to apply for one to get in.The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
"Ohhh. That''s quite interesting!"
"Is it?"
"Yes! Back at home, they never used something like this."
They soon reached the town of Ashford after a hour of trekking. The guards at the gate were alarmed as the girl covered in blood approached them, raising their weapons.
¡°Guys! Stop!¡±
¡°Alicia?¡±
A gruff voice rumbled as one of the guards spoke. He motioned for his partner to lower his weapon. The guard was old in age but was still well-built. He tried to gauge the bloodied girl but there was this nagging feeling biting at him.
¡°Your friend? What happened to Gordon?¡±
¡°He¡¡±
The two in silence, only to be broke when Luciel suddenly spoke up.
"If you mean that man, he passed away peacefully."
Luciel nodded as the two looked at her. Alica and the old guard understood and didn¡¯t carry on with the conversation. The man sighed as he took Alica''s card and looked at the group in the back. He nodded, and whispered to Alica.
"Be careful of that noble, Alica. Get your money and make sure you get out of sight."
"Hmm, I know."
"Open the gates!"
The man yelled and from inside, the sounds of chains began to move and the wooden gate moved apart, allowing the group in. The old guard ordered his subordinates out, escorting the noble man and his family back to the mansion far inside the town.
"Gimme a moment, eh? I''ll go to the adventurer''s guild with you two."
Alica could breathe easily now as they were the only ones left. Luciel was looking around, her eyes sparkles with curiosity. The old man joined them after awhile and they headed on to the adventurer''s guild.
"Sorry for worrying you, Master."
"Hahaha, you really did." The old man laughed. "I was about to send a squad out, but I''m glad you are back."
Then the old man gestured towards to Luciel.
"And missy, you are?"
"I''m Luciel." She smiled at the old man and Alica.
"She''s the one who saved me and the rest, Master."
"Ohh?"
The old man nodded, taking note of the blood all over her clothes. With him coming along, at least people won''t be too alarmed with a bloodied girl walking around town. Still, is it even possible for a girl so thin to do something so incredible? It was unheard of.
They soon reached the guild, only the lights on the first floor were still lit.
The old man entered first, following by Alica and Luciel. A young catgirl stood at the counter, bowing as she saw the old man. Though she looks like a normal human, her ears and tail easily separated her from the humans. Her hair was blonde and short, looking like the art as a receptionist.
She immediately jumped to full alert as her ears and tail stands up with the sight of the Luciel. The old man shook his head.
"It''s okay Nyran, that bloodied girl is a friend."
"I-If you say so, Master nya."
Alica went over to the counter, and started recounting the whole incident to the catgirl. While they were taking, Luciel was interested in those cat ears. It twitched every few seconds and she was curious to find out, to touch it... Before they knew it, Luciel was climbing up on the counter and trying to touch those fluffy ears.
Nyran, who tried her hardest to be professional, almost gave in the carnal pleasure of being rubbed in the ears.
Alica bear hugged Luciel, forcing her to behave as she continued her story. It took awhile, but finally they got to the end of the story.
"I see...very well, Alica. I shall prepare the necessary paperwork nya. Wait for a bit nya."
Nyran went into the room behind her, which Luciel assumed is an office. So far, it was okay. What she observed was the world was in a better state after all. Nyran hurried back to the counter with two cards, one that was charged with mana was Alica''s, while the other one was empty and was lacking in mana.
"Luciel, place your thumb on the card nya."
Luciel did as she was told and felt a slight prick on her thumb. A moment later, the card was plated and ready to be used.
"There you go nya!"
Luciel took the card and checked through the contents -

"Hmm, why does it say that I''m a warrior?"
Tilting her head, Luciel asked Alica and Nyran.
"Oh, because Alica mentioned of your sword. I just assumed you were a warrior nya. Lemme check your status...nya?"
"What is it?" Alica watched as Nyran increasingly became more flustered.
"Nyaaa?! I can''t see her status."
The old man who was falling asleep suddenly woke up as Alica shook him to hell.
"Whoooaa, what''s wrong?"
"Master, we can''t see Luciel''s status..."
"Nyaa, it''s impossible! The guild system is able to check with every single person, except for the royalty nya!"
Luciel only smiled as the trio looked at her. Suspicions were written all over their faces. They sighed in unison. The mysterious girl''s mystery is piling up by the minute.
"Haaaa, well, let''s save it for tomorrow." The old man got up and started stretching. "It''s already late now."
"Luciel, do you have any plans nya?"
She shook her head.
"Then how about sharing my room?"
"Alica?"
"Well...why not?" The old man yawned. "Good night girls. Be careful now."
The old man left the guild, followed by Alica and Luciel. Nyran followed them to the door, saying goodbye to the girls.
"I''ll see you two tomorrow, nya."
"Good night Nyran."
"Good night!"
Nyran returned into the guild. Alica took Luciel by the hand and headed towards to the inn she was staying at. At this time, the moon was already out, and people were all heading back home.
"Hmm, we should get you some new clothes tomorrow."
"I don''t have any money."
"Oh, it''s okay, just take it as my way of thanking you."
Arriving at the inn, the grandma at the counter almost had a heart attack when she saw the bloody girl.
At least Luciel received a change of clothing from the grandma after that shock. A simple red dress that was commonly wore by the locals. It belonged to her daughter, which looks like it fit nicelywith Luciel''s build. Luciel thanked the old lady as a pile of dresses were given to her.
"Alisa, dear, bring me that bloody dress in the morning."
"Okay, Obaa."
"Obaa?"
Alisa chuckled.
"Well, we call her that because her name was too long. So we just shorten it to Obaa."
Inside her room, it was bare except for the essentials. There was just two beds with a closet in one corner with a table and some chairs in the middle of the room. The other end was taken up by Alica and Gordon''s belongings.
Alica went over to where partner''s belongings were. Luciel watched over her friend, as the tears finally escaped after holding it in. Luciel waited for Alica to calm down and passed her a cup of water as she sat down at the table with her.
"Thank you, Luciel."
"I''m glad to help."
"Nono, I mean, really, I really want to thank you."
Luciel sat there in silence as Alica gathered her thoughts.
"Would you...would you join my party? I mean, before you leave town..."
"Okay, I don¡¯t mind."
"Huh?"
"Yeah, I don''t mind. I won''t be staying too long, but we can help each other for the time being."
"Unn!"
Alica grabbed Luciel and hugged. Her sobs of thanks grew softer as Luciel patted her on the head and back.
It was a first for the angel, for someone to rely on her so much.
Chapter 2 - Beginning of friendship
Morning came for Luciel as the sun rays crept into the room. Sleeping on the inn''s bed, she woke up just like how she did back home. Though this time she had a companion.
Alica was curled up as she slept, her bed hair already poking out in all directions. Luciel removed the dress she borrowed and stood right there in her underwear. She stretched her arm up, letting her wings free from her back.
It had grown decently, going as far as the length of her arm. Still, it will be a long time before she could match the ranks of her mother and the rest of the head angels. Letting her wings flap, it was a major relief for her.
A long series of stretches later, Luciel tucked her wings in and went into the next room. She didn''t notice the next room until Alica pointed it out. It was a small room enough to fit a person to bathe and wash up.
She undressed again, leaving her underwear to the side and sat down on the stool.
"Hyaa!"
Luciel screamed out as the cold water poured down her back. For a moment, she thought she was back at home. Even back up there, there wasn''t any hot water available to bath. And she hated getting her wings cold.
A flick of the finger, and she heated up the water to a acceptable range.
"Hmm...it could be a bit warmer."
Luciel hummed a tune and started washing up. A groggy Alica entered the room soon right she was done, walking in a daze in her nightdress. She blocked her eyes as light flooded her eyes. Luciel''s angelic aura was binding her.
Quickly, Luciel made her wings hidden and the aura was gone. Alica rubbed her eyes as she saw Luciel in her underwear, damp from the moisture.
"A-ahhh-"
She went so red that her face looked like tomato. Luciel giggled and went out.
Alica was bright red at this time. It was different when she shared the room with her Gordon. She would be the one rising early then waking him up.But now...
When Alica sorted her thoughts out, Luciel was waiting on her bed. Dressed and ready to start the day, she would pass off as a young noble lady, if she didn''t know about he.
"Unn, Luciel?"
"Yes?"
It wasn''t a dream at all.
"Do you want to get breakfast first?"
"Hmm!"
Alica got changed into her adventure attireand the two headed downstairs to the dining area. The smell of roasted meat and other food was thick in the room. The moment Luciel entered, the busy room turned silence almost immediately.
Only after when they had settle in the corner of the room, then it returned normal.
"Ah...I should tune down the angelic presence...heheh."
Alica was baffled, looking around her as the noise quickly went back to its usual state.
"Is it always so lively?"
"Ah, yes. Usually when the high ranking adventurers are here, it will be even noisier."
"Oh? It''s amazing. This is my first time..."
"Where did you live?"
"Umm, I lived somewhere high so there weren''t as much people."
"The mountains? You came a far way..."
As the two chatted, they were rudely interrupted by a group of men.
Luciel could only identify them as bandits. She almost had a thought of cutting them down when Alica started talking.
"...Ugh, why are you here, Belazc?"
"Arr? You hurt me wit that tone!"
His ''henchmen'' snickered as if on cue. Alisa almost stood up when he placed his hands on her shoulder.
"Now, now! I''m here to offar my condolences."
"Alica, who''s this?"
The two turned at her, with Luciel having a smile. Alica could tell it wasn''t a friendly smile. It looked...different to her.
"Arr, such a beauty. Your friend?"
Luciel nodded.
"My luck! Why, nao we can have two beauties in our group!"
The henchmen cheered.
Alisa grabbed Luciel by her hand and tried to leave. The man called Belazc pushed her back to her chair.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
"Nao! You don''t leave without my permission..."
Luciel had enough, the sound of metal was sharp as it resonated with her sheath. Blood was gushing out from the arm that pushed Alisa down. Luciel stood in a unusual stance, full of bloodlust and killing intent. She had her hand by her side, as if she was grabbing a sword but there wasn''t any sword hanging at her waist.
Belzac scream after a few seconds, the pain only just registered by his body. She had almost sliced the arm off perfectly, only restraining herself at the last moment. Alisa only sat there in shock as the man cried in pain. No one dared to move.
Then Luciel snapped her fingers. The wound healed up almost perfectly, leaving a scar there. Luciel was still smiling.
"You dare to hurt my friend, worm?"
"N-nonono, I wouldn''t dare..."
"Leave. Before I cut you again."
Without a second word, the group ran out. What was left was the blood all over the floor. And quickly everyone clapped. For better or worse, the situation ended in a positive note. The innkeeper gave them a bigger portion alsoas a small reward.
Alica watched her unusual friend as she begins her meal. There were so many mysterious thing that shrouded the girl before her, that it kept bugging her. Still, she saved her yet again.
Shaking her head in disapproval, she quickly digged in. No point in thinking about so much.
"Hmm, it''s good."
"I''m glad that you like it. That''s why I''m staying here, Obaa''s food is best in town."
After their breakfast, Alica brought Luciel to the adventurer''s guild again. Might as well get started on the day. As they approached the guild, they could hear noise coming from inside. Even so early in the morning, there were people here already, taking on requests for the day.
Alica guided Luciel as she explained the ranking system.
"So, for our rank, we can only take requests from the board here. It will indicate the rank required to do so."
Gathering of herbs to doing cleaning and whatnot, Luciel slowly understood Alica''s explanation.
"So...if I want to rank up..."
"Technically, you just need to pass a certain criteria." Alica sighed. "But so far, people who tried either died because of overconfidence, or because they got scared and ran away."
"Hmm, that would be bad."
"If you want, we can get some herbs for today. It will be easy for you to start withand I can teach you about the area."
Luciel nodded and Alica headed over to the counter. Another receptionist, though this one was different in appearance. It reminded Luciel of snakes that she saw in books. After awhile, Alica came back. She passed Alica a bag of money.
"This is your share of the reward from yesterday."
"What about you?"
Alica''s bag was much smaller in comparison. Luciel can only imagine what was going on at the counter. She accepted with no complaint.
Their first task was to head out to gather herbs and other valuable resources, which will take most of the day to finish, according to Alica. Before they headed out, Alica took Luciel around the town hub, which most of the store were. Their first destination was at the clothing store, for a proper attire.
"Welcome. Oh, it''s Alica!"
A lovable looking old lady hugged Alica as the two entered.
"Dearie! I was so worried! Are you alright?"
"Heheh...yes, granny."
"Oh, this is? Your friend?"
"Unn, she''s the one who saved me."
The old lady grabbed hold of Luciel''s hand and shook it hard, expressing her gratitude as tears of happiness flowed.
"Oh, young lady! Thank you for saving Alica!"
Luciel was at a loss of what to do. She blushed slightly as she nodded, with the old lady flooding her with compliments. Alica had to shake the old lady at the shoulder, informing her of what were they here for.
"Granny, we need something for Alica to wear, she can''t go out wearing this dress."
"Ahhh, something must be done!Quick girl!"
With lightning speed, for a old lady anyway, she finished taking all the necessary details and went into a room in the back. Alica showed Luciel around as they waited.
"She was my caretaker when I was born, Luciel. I was lucky to find someone close when I came here."
"You don¡¯t live here?"
"I used to live near the capital, then I started adventuring in order to support myself. I came here because the quests here are easier for someone like me to do..."
Alica fell silence, the bad memory from yesterday haunting her. She bounced back quicly, however, immediately forcing Luciel to stand still as she took some clothes and used Luciel as a gauge for the size. It took awhile before the old lady came back, carrying some proper attire for Luciel to try on.
"Here, dearie, I did some adjustments but I''m sure they''ll fit your adventure needs."
A sleeveless shirt and a skirt that cuts nicely at the side. It was a tad revealing for defensive purposes, but for fast movement and action, Luciel could easily stretch and move around in that outfit. The old lady also prepare some leggings forLucieland she can pair it with shoes or she could go barefoot.
It resembled some sort of eastern culture, the old lady explained. She got ideas from someone before but no one was able to fit her criteria.
"It feels great to move in."
Lucielsmiled as she spun around.
Alica brought Luciel to walk around some more, after payingand saying goodbye to the old shopkeeper. Their little excursion brought them to the entrance of the town, where they came from the forest. The guards took their guild card and acknowledged them as they stepped away.
Now it was morning, Luciel could see the vast plains soaked in the morning sun and the forest that she teleported in. Alica explained the place they were at.
The town they were at was a trade center, hence there weremany merchant and noble coming back and forth from the capital to do business. Adventurers like her would usually perform guard duties to monster subjugation and it would usually mean a few weeks worth of work.
Alica knew some of the better spots to gather herbs and materials if they were lucky. One of the spots were filled herbs and other types of floral that Luciel had never seen before. It was beautiful listening to the wind rustling through the plains.
They headed deep in to the field of herbs.
The two picked up a decent amount of herbs, enough for them to use as leftoversfor other purposes. As Alica started to teach Luciel more about the herbs around them, Luciel felt several presences. Lucielheld Alica''s hand to get her attention
"Alica...we are surrounded."
Luciel put her finger up to her lips and whispered.
"Keep on talking. Act as if nothing is wrong."
"Hnn."
Luciel glanced around the corner of her eyes, letting her body do the trick as she recited a simple detection spell. Several figures appeared in her head, showing the map of the area as the spell reached its limit.
"Alica, I can sense 10 to 20 people that are waiting for us in ambush."
"What..? It must be Belzac and his crew. What a pain that man is!"
"Is there anywhere to run to around here?"
"No...there''s no cover around here, except into the forest."
"Then...we have to cut them down if we have to."
"I won''t be a hindrance, okay? I''ll do my part, since it¡¯s my fault also."
"I know."
Luciel smiled brightly.
"I''ll count on you, Alica. I will protect you."
Alica could feel her face slowly heat up. If Luciel was a man, any girl will fall for that! But for Luciel, she was being honest at that moment, a bad trait that she picked up from her mother.
Alicanodded. The two stood up together and time seem to stood still as they ready themselves.
Chapter 3 - Growth
It was even more than what Luciel had expected. 30, no, there could be even as much as 50 attackers that surrounded them. Luciel could hear Alica swallow hard at the sight of the generic bandits that appeared and one familiar face, that was full of arrogance and anger.
Luciel and Alica moved back slowly, back to center of the field. If possible, Luciel did not want to kill. Her angelic teachings refrain angels from killing indiscriminately, but in this situation, Alica was with her. She will protect her from the bottom of her ''heart''.
The man Belzac raised his arm and more men came up, carrying weapons that looked like bows, but could be carried around. They fired, small bolts mostly hitting the ground but some were deflected by Luciel''s magic. Belazc ordered the men to advance.
A piercing war cry echoed through the plain. Not even someone like that girl could possibly defeat his bandit henchmans. He was second-in-command and naturally, he had power among his band of merry men. Revenge will be sweet.
Loud cries of pain brought the man back to reality as he saw that silver-haired girl easily wiping out his band of bandits. With each slash, there was a shockwaves that shook the plains.
Alica kicked one of the bandits away and almost lost her balance as Luciel fought the group of bandits before her. Each of her slashes caused a tremor and Alica saw a few of the bandits flying several distances back.
She swallowed as she blocked another blow from a random bandit. Things quickly turned ugly for the bandits. Alica was handling them easily for some reason, while Luciel repelled everything they threw at her. Magic spells to projectiles, all were quickly brushed away by a swing of her blade.
"It''s no use, run!!!"
A bandit shouted in despair as Luciel came closer to their group. Whatever courage they had before was quickly extinguished in a instance. Blezac fell to his knees as his men ran away in all different directions.
It was over so soon.
"Luciel!"
Alica was so worried, even though she could handle all that by herself. Luciel smiled back at her companion, nodding.
Then everything happened so fast. One of the remaining bandits that was hidden took the chance and fired an arrow at Luciel. Alica jumped in the way, taking the arrow as it pierced her armor, now lodged in her shoulder.
Alica grimaced in pain as blood started seeping out of her wound. Luciel blasted the area with her wind magic and caused anyone hiding flew away from the area. Luciel was almost panicking as she watched her friend pull out the arrow.
For a moment there, Luciel was almost crying.
"L-Luciel?"
"Yes!"
"Don''t worry, it''s...okay."
Alica comforted the girl. She could still smile as Luciel tried her best to heal the wound with her magic. At least, Alica now understands more of Luciel''s personality. She was like a child. A pure-hearted one.
She patted Luciel on the head with her uninjured arm, wiping the swelling tears that were overflowing.
The wound closed without any problems, though it felt raw whenever Alica tries to move her shoulders. She had to let it heal, or the wound would open again.
"Thank you, Luciel. I''m glad that you''re smiling again."
"Unn."
"It''s okay, my armor blocked most of the damage...don''t cry again."
"I won''t."
Luciel blamed herself for letting this happen. She had her guard down before accessing the situation. She felt as if her mother hated her, it was a piercing pain inside of her body. Was her training inadequate? Her insecurities grew stronger as they quickly headed back to town, avoiding the main path. Most of the bandits were already taken out, but they could come back anytime.
They reached the town entrance with no trouble, now approaching midday already. The guards were on alert, and soon ease back to their usual stance as the two girl approached. Luciel stayed a distance back as Alica talked to the guards.
"Are you two okay?"
"Y-yes, what''s going on?"
"Apparently, there were several tremors that shook the town. We thought it might be some dragon by apparently not."
"Oh, we felt something like that also. Is it okay for us to enter town?"
"Sure, just remember to report to the guild. Apparently the guild master wanted to gather any available adventurers to investigate."
Alica could feel the cold sweat forming on her head. How could she even explain her way out of this, god. She prayed with all her might that they never found out the mass group of injured bandits all over the plains.
Holding Luciel''s hand, they headed for the adventurer''s guild.
Inside the guild, it was quiet as the two girls entered. Everyone had their attention on them as they entered. Nyran took the basket of herbs from them and quickly urge the two to where the guildmaster was waiting.
A elf that was taller than the two of them, she could be even taller than most of the men in the guild. Her attire was befitting of an guildmaster, accompanied by a suave coat that fluttered as she moved. Her hair covered one of her eyes, which the other one shone green, sharing the common trait of elves. Last and not least, she could possibly match Lucifer in bust size.
That was what Luciel noted as they joined the ranks of adventurers.
"Seems everyone is here, very well."
The guild master stood up, acknowledging the group of adventurers. Alica felt like fainting. This was going to cause a major incident out of nowhere. What could she do?
Alica waved for Nyran to come over to them. While the guildmaster was talking about their findings, Alica whispered to the two. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
"What is it Alica nya?"
"There''s no dragon, Nyran!"
"Nya? What do you mean?"
"I mean, the tremor you heard was caused by us."
"Nyaaaa?!"
"Shh!"
"I can barely believe thisnyaa..."
"I''m sorry..."
"Luciel, it''s not your fault."
"But..."
"Just let me explain to the guildmaster nya."
Nyran waved to the guildmaster and motioned her to stop. She blinked as she studied the two guild members next to her receptionist. She cleared her throat, telling the adventurers to prepare to receive requests for any monster invasion and the usual safety measures.
"What is it?"
''''Nya, well, you see."
Nyran whispered to the guildmaster. The elf nodded and nodded again, which her eye snapped to Luciel. She looked somewhat baffled, before returning to the usual aloof elven look.
"Alica and your friend, come with me."
Alica held Luciel''s hand and the two followed the guildmaster up to her office. Nyran followed behind, carrying a stack of papers and a pencil. The officer of the guildmaster was simple, having a good stock of books and weapons by her side, the guildmaster settled down at her desk.
"You two can take a seat. Nyran, please take the notes."
Nyran nodded, her ears perked up as she readied herself to take any information from this talk."
"Well, let me introduce myself first. I am Selvaria, the guild master and a elf as you can see."
"Umm, Alica, Rank D.
"I am Luciel, Rank E..."
"Right, so let me get the points right first. Luciel, you''re the one who caused the tremor?"
The two nodded.
"How?"
Luciel looked away. Alica wanted to speak but the guildmaster held her hand up.
"Luciel, dare I ask who are you?"
Luciel kept quiet again, but she looked at Selvaria this time.
"...Alica?"
"She... she is a traveler that saved me yesterday. I don''t know anything about her past."
In her heart, Luciel was panicking. She was scared. Even when she was sent down, she wasn''t that scared compared to now. Someone like her who just gotten used to being alone all by herself, one could say she was like a new kid at a school for the first time.
She knew how to fight and defend herself. Her instincts led her so far, but how much can it help before someone gets injured again. Lucifer had not taken into account that her daughter was as human as a child mentally.
Even magic could only help so far.
She was scared of hurting Alica, someone who trusted and relied on her. She was afraid of revealing her identity will scare her friend.
Luciel bit her lips so hard that she was bleeding. Alica cried out in shock.
"Luciel!"
The guild master was baffled at the sight. A elf like her had seen everything, but this was a first even for her. She thought the girl was emotionless, running several scenarios in her head at the possibilities. Only Alica so far had seen more than one emotion from Luciel.
"Guildmaster, nya, I think Alica should explain first nya."
"Very well."
Alica held Luciel close as she started to explain. The events still fresh in her head, Alica briefly talked about their meeting and how she saved her and the nobles from the wolves. Next was today''s events, about the man called Belzac and how he came finding them out in the fields when they were picking herbs and materials.
"I roughly get what you mean. I had reports coming in about Belzac also, how troublesome."
Sighing, Selevria turned to Luciel.
"I have an hunch... but first, Nyran."
"Yesnya?"
"Go down and announce that the invasion has been investigated and is reported to be false. Get them to sign for their attendance and record it."
"Oknya."
With a bow, Nyran headed down and the door was closed. Now with the three alone in the room, Selvaria sighed. She pushed her hair and revealed a eye patch. Removing the eyepatch, she revealed her other eye, that was of a different eye color.
"As a elf, I was trained to sense powerful magic sources as part of my training. I reached the level of a guildmaster rather quickly, to the chagrin of human beings."
Alica could only offer a awkward laugh as Selvaria waited for them to speak up.
"At first, it was really faint."
Selvaria stood up, and went over to the girls.
"I feel an immense power now after removing my eyepatch, from Luciel. There is so much power that it hurts standing to close to her."
"Luciel?"
Alica felt Luciel tugging her shirt. She was scared, trying to find comfort.
"Guildmaster, could we possibly talk about this some other time?"
"¡She''s not in a condition to talk, as I can see."
"I''ll talk to her, so please, guildmaster."
"Call me Selvaria. I know what to do, Alica."
The guildmaster went back to her desk and put back on her eyepatch, sighing in relief as the magic pressure was elevated. Luciel was still silent as Alica comforted her. Nyran came back with some refreshments, a tray of juice with a few glasses on in were set onto the guildmaster''s desk.
"Guildmasternya, the situation is okay. Some people are out searching nya."
"Hmm, I need to make a trip to the guardhouse..."
Selvaria stood up and patted Nyran on the head. She left, her hair trailing at the back as she left her office.
"Nya, Luciel, juice?"
Luciel took the drink and sip into it. She smiled sadly this time, nodding. Alicia was relieved, taking her glass as Nyran passed one to her too. They took some time enjoying the refreshment, saying their goodbyes to the cat receptionist before leaving.
The reward today was barely enough to cover for their lodgings, but it had to do for now. Alica was determined to become stronger. Today''s incident shouldn''t have happened if she was stronger and courageous.
Luciel was abormally stronger, she thought. But she was like a child that had all this power. She hoped that her companion would share her secrets, if she trusted her.
Back in their room, they had their dinner already and ready to wash up. Luciel was still quiet the whole time, only moving her head to either nod or shake to reply. Alica went to take a bath first, giving Luciel some space to herself.
Luciel thought of what to do as her mind wandered.
"Should I leave? Where can I go? Should I tell Alica? Can I just return home? I don''t want to hurt Alica."
"What should I do? What will mother say?"
Plagued with doubts in her head, Luciel couldn''t dare to do anything. She wished her parents were here to guide her, but she had no way to contact them. She felt her eyes well up as she ran through her thoughts over and over, all she can think that it was her fault.
Luciel turned as she heard the bathroom door open, the hinges creaking slightly. Alica was in her sleeping attire, wiping her hair dry. She hurried over to Luciel''s side the moment she saw the poor face on the angel.
Her eyes were swelled up, tears flowing down her cheeks. Alica wiped the tears away, consoling the girl with a gentle tone.
"Luciel, it''s okay. Really, my shoulder feels better now."
The arrow wound of her shoulder was still visible, the flesh still raw, carrying a darker tone compared to rest of her body.
"I''m sorry... I should have... I should have...!"
Alica just hugged her, the only way she knew to comfort someone. Luciel choked on her words, resting her head on Alica''s bosom.
"It''s okay. I don''t know who you are, or where you came from. But, you saved me and that matters, no?"
"Yes..."
"You can tell me whatever you want. I won''t leave you."
It reminds Alica of her family. Her big sister role helped in comforting the girl.
"You won''t leave?"
"Yes, I won''t. Nothing will surprise me anymore after what happened."
Alica chuckled as she ruffled the girl''s hair.
"Unn."
Alica could only wait until Luciel was ready to tell her secret.
Alica let Luciel sleep with her, combining their beds together. They were snuggled up together, wrapped in their blankets.
Luciel had a dream as she slept. She was in the clouds, that resembled her home back up in the sky. A familiar figure stood in the light, drabbed in angelic attire and magnificent wings that she could tell from anywhere.
She tried to move, but she was rooted at the spot. No matter how much Luciel wanted to meet with her mother, her legs didn''t move. She yelled and scream but no voice came out. She kneeled out in desperation, the world slowly turning muddy and dark.
"Mother.."
Luciel cried, her mind was in a state of mess that she never faced before.
She shielded her eyes as a small light pierced the darkness.
Instinctively, she reached out for the light.
It was warm and soft.
