《Final Earth》
Prologue
The world as we know it is ruled by men and the law governing it hold by those who grip upon the world power called money and politics. The earth has age and the beauty of Mother Nature was depleting due to the greed of men.
Pollution brought countless species of flora and fauna to go extinct all in the name of greed. Greed that enrapture this civilization. For the sake of men¡¯s greed, nature reserves were cut down demolishing the trees that have lives for countless years.
The aborigine people have their home to disappear among the cut down stump. While those who make a living near the shore of the wide sea, were barely catching fishes for the sake of living. Over the past few years, oil leaks have been frequent while nuclear radiation leaks were on the rise.If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. The common people were outrage but their pitiful outcries were left unbothered by those who reign at the top. The rich becoming richer while the poor stay poor. But the one who suffer was the Earth itself. The north and the south poles melt due to the rise in temperature. The sea starts to turns into green with the increase in growth of the algae destroying eco-system.
Natural disaster was becoming frequent with typhoon scouring through the land and heavy rain flooded the low ground. Intense heat blast during the day torturing those underneath the sunlight.
But human are incredible creatures as though with this entire occurrence they still manage to preserve and survive. But Earth wasn¡¯t that lenient.
The future of Earth was bleak with pollution running amok across the globe, natural disaster was becoming frequent with news popping out every month. Earth had enough with the destruction occurring on its body. A brand new year in the first day of January 2017. It was the day Earth retaliates!

01-New Years Eve
31st December 2016
I, a mere mortal within this world.
Had no friend, nor someone that can be label as a decent relationship. Growing up in a strict household. My teenage impulses were restricted unable to bond with my so called peers. Even after college, the numbers of people that I can call as ¡®friend¡¯ can be count easily using my fingers.
An introvert at best, which yearn for a relationship but difficulty in starting up or rather the thought of going through the process of acquainting with someone wasn¡¯t something in my bucket-list. More so who actually wanted to befriend someone like me. A loner that care not about others.
Even with the family, the bonds between us four brothers aren¡¯t close at all as if strangers sharing a single house. An eldest but turns out to be someone disappointing. Sad to say that I didn¡¯t turn out what my parent expected of me but I don¡¯t mind as this is my life. A life where I, who can decide where my fate lies.
A night where I have countless trouble of not being able to sleep and tonight was no different from the other nights. Some would say I have insomnia, partially it can be consider true but some part of me murmur to myself that I¡¯m someone who overthinks in a different way thinking pointless possible outcomes. But most of it arrived to a bad ending an ending neither I do not like.
¡®heh~ an introvert, a pessimist and someone who has no goal. Can¡¯t believe I¡¯m still living.¡¯ A self-depreciating comment hurl towards myself.
Even so I stare at the wall clock, with its arm ticking slowly unhindered by time.
Tick tock tick tock
Second by second pass, but within my room it was still. The darkness of the room was unperturbed. With no speck of light piercing through the void of darkness, I lay on the bed motionless. Then the clock struck 12 o¡¯clock, while others in my age celebrate New Year with booze and charming company. They party unleashing their inner desire as they shout out the typical congratulation of New Year¡¯s Eve.
¡®?¡¯
But something unexpected happen, the noise of fireworks booming in the air that I expect didn¡¯t resound. I who lived nearby a city would often been greeted by the thunderous sound of fireworks at this hour.
¡®Malfunction maybe?¡¯ I ponder on why there¡¯s nothing. A weird incident even for me. Since every year this kind of thing wouldn¡¯t be neglected by the city administration.
¡®Who cares since I¡¯m not really interested in it.¡¯ but that remark of mine backfire my reasoning by a shrieking scream that was no doubt coming from a woman.
¡°KYAH!!!!!!!¡±
¡°Help!!!¡±
A desperate plea for help, I who was in a daze prop my body up as I glance behind me. Unraveling the blinds, what greeted my sight was a female neighbor of mine screaming her lungs out as she froze on the ground swinging her handbag at the perpetrator.
With its back on my sight, I spotted the villain coming closer to the unfortunate neighbor of mine. Due to the cover of darkness, I roughly estimate its height probably half the size of mine but rather than small this person has a wide body while on its hand was flinging something like a large stick or so.
Then the scene unravels with a few men coming out of the terrace house shouting toward the person.
¡°HEY! Who the hell are you!¡±
¡°Don¡¯t dare take another step!¡±
Bunch of aggressive comment was hurl to that short person. It was reasonable since this is a modern era where violence isn¡¯t the first solution to anything. As one of the men who¡¯s probably her husband or so can¡¯t really contain his anger. Well since I¡¯m an introvert I¡¯m not really familiar with my neighbors so I assume he was the husband of the poor woman.
He approaches the stout person and raises his fist ready to pummel down his knuckle onto the lecherous bastard who dare disturb his wife. But I can¡¯t help but feeling a sense of uneasiness.
¡°ARGH!¡±
A short shout of pain rang within my ears as my eyes turns wide trying to see what happen just now. The moment I blink just now. The man was ready to fight the stout person drop to the ground as he grabs his arm in a painful manner.
The other men around were dumbfounded, while neighbors around me start coming out of their houses curious about the noise of the night. While the young went out partying in New Year eve, what left tonight were only the older people those who are middle age.
The men who appear around the same time as the suppose husband, didn¡¯t wait as they rush to the stout person as they attempt to immobilize him. But the things that happen in front of my eye defy common sense.
The stout person retaliates swinging the huge stick on his hand randomly. Hitting one of the men who attempt to attack him. Flinging the middle age person to the ground as he scream out in pain.
¡°hey! What¡¯s going on here¡± one of the older people in the neighborhood approach the scene intending to find out what¡¯s going on.
¡°We don¡¯t know, this guy try to hurt Malik¡¯s wife!¡± one of the man spoke out in a hurried manner as he unconsciously step back a bit.
The older man wearing merely his sleeping attire spoke out to the stout person. ¡°hey you! What are you doing here in our neighborhood? Don¡¯t cause anymore ruckus or else I will call the police!¡± the old man try to avert any more harm as he properly threaten the stout person.
The woman who froze on the ground was carried off by his husband as he pitifully leaves the scene with injuries on his body. As he brings his wife back into the house. The stout person starts to moves accordingly toward their direction.
¡°Hey stop!¡± the old man tries to intervene but he was slow but then a boy who was holding on to a torchlight directed the light on to the stout person accidentally. The light shone on the person as it reveals its appearance.
I, who was on the second floor of my house, can¡¯t see but those below were frightened by its mere appearance.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators!
The stout person stumble a bit as the light disturb his movement, it used its huge stick covering its face but not before its appearance was caught by the sight of those in front of it.
¡®what the hell is happening down there?¡¯ I was obviously curious but I didn¡¯t dare going down there. But then a woman screams shrieks through the night.
¡°kya!!!!!!!!!¡±
The stout person unknowingly jumps out to the old man who was the closest to him at the moment and clobber down his stick into the helpless old man. I watch in horror as even I can¡¯t imagine what was going on right now. The woman and children start scampering back into their house as the men were clueless on what to do amidst their neighbor being bash on the head countless times.
One of the men who was there, reach out to one of a wooden planks lying around nearby a storehouse. He bolsters his courage as he swing the wooden plank but his action was halted by the action of the stout person. He discontinues his maddening attack as he raise his head in the air and a screech was let out in the air as it rang.
¡°KUKIIII!!!!!!!!!¡± the men were dumbfounded by the suddenness of the stout person. But one of them realized that the old man was still breathing amidst the blood covering his whole face.
¡°hey what are we waiting for! Old Sawi is still hurt!¡± shouted the man as he try to save the near to death Sawi on the ground. But then his movement was stop by the noise that approach from afar. Even I who was currently standing watch the scene from afar after hearing an inexplicable sound.
In front of our line of terrace houses stood a playground with running track made around the perimeter of the park. It was dark since there is no source of light for the playground but the noise was no doubt coming from the park. As it grown louder, I notice the sound appears to be similar to the sound of that stout person from before.
I squint my eyes towards the darkness of the playground trying to focus relying on my sight to catch anything out there. Surprisingly, the moonlight was unravel aiding my vision as the lucent light reveal the most astonishing thing that I have ever see.
¡°what¡what the hell are those?¡± I can¡¯t believe what I saw with my very own two eyes. Countless short beings were heading toward our houses as they were rushing in broad number. Even the men below saw the scene with their very eyes.
But the shocking thing was¡
My vision unknowingly glances toward the sole perpetrator of this whole scene and I can¡¯t believe what I just saw. A hideous face, bald and darkish green in color. It¡¯s ear was pointing upwards and the short stature was it¡¯s symbolic trait.
¡®A goblin?¡¯ I can¡¯t believe what I just think off since that¡¯s the only possible answer coursing through my brain. It can be a mutated human but with all those features, I can¡¯t help but to convince myself. It was half-naked with only a cloth covering its private part. The stick it was holding unknowingly was a bone a huge bone which it¡¯s origin I do not dare think off. I slap myself trying to wake up from this dream but the slap was painful as usual as the things that happen in front of my very eyes were real.
¡®trouble!¡¯ I soon realized the approaching noise and countless short men were a terrible sign. If one goblin could bludgeon one man to near death what can an army do if they ever reach us. I can¡¯t help but scorn on my negative view but that¡¯s the reality of it in this moment.
I ignore the scene of the lone goblin and the group of men as their action was also halt. I on the other hand ran downstairs, trying to come up with any measures to counter the incoming ¡®horde¡¯. Can¡¯t believe I just used the word horde in a real life situation.
Enough of that!
I went downstairs as I saw my parent were up as they were staring in front of the sliding door of our main entrance. One of my brothers who are on vacation from his college was also there as he was staring from the window.
Seeing these people oblivious to the situation, I ran up to them. ¡°mom! Dad! Come inside fast!¡± I was frantic as I know time is off the essence. My parents who were dumbfounded by my fluster action question my behavior.
¡°what¡¯s wrong son? Why are you this frantic? Calm down¡± my dad tries to calm me down but I was short on words in this situation. I didn¡¯t hold back as I pull both my parents into the house.
¡°son?!¡± they were surprised. ¡°son are you okay?¡± my mother ask with concern. She was probably worried since I¡¯m usually not this agitated. I ignore them for now. I order my brother who was also surprised from my action to bring the sofas.
¡°Black! Help me out go get the sofas and bring it to the door, now!¡± I gave out the door with a loud voice. My parents are both shocked once again as I never raise my voice like this. ¡°sofas? Eyy~ what for?¡± he question at a time like this.
¡°shut up you oaf and just follow what I say!¡± I even hurl a bit of mocking into my words as I know only those words can bring this brother of mine to action. ¡°jeez okay okay¡± he slowly walk in a lazy manner as he half-heartedly try to lift the sofa.
I close the grill gate and lock it with the padlock as I franticly close the sliding door. ¡®damn it! sliding door are not going stop those things.¡¯ I grumble as my face furrow. The sliding door definitely not going to stop these creatures. I block the sliding door with a long stick hindering it from sliding backwards shutting it from the inside.
My father on the other hand tries to reason with me. ¡°son? What are you doing? I thought of going out there to help¡¡± the moment he said those word I shouted at him unconsciously. ¡°no! you can¡¯t!¡± my father who has grown soft and gentle over the years didn¡¯t have his usual temper from my younger days but since I blatantly shout at him, the temper emerge.
¡°son! Stop what you are doing! And explain to me right at this instance!¡± I can obviously hear the tint of anger in his voice but I have no qualm to that for now.
I ignore him as I walk to my brother. He stood in front of the sofa silent as he himself was surprised by me shouting at our father. ¡°What are you standing around for come on help me with this.¡± with the urge of my words, Black had no choice but to help me.
¡°Red stop right now! Stop and explain to me right now!¡± my father probably reaching his boiling point right now and my mother try to put some sense into me. ¡°Red, please listen to your father, husband please calm down, please¡± her words try to gently calm my father. But all of this was useless at the moment.
As I lift the sofa and barricade the sliding door with it, Black also put some words to me. ¡°bro, dad is getting angry.¡± I pay no heed to him as I continue to pick up the pace. The sofa begins to stack in front of the sliding door. It was half way through but at this moment my father flips out.
His hand holds my shoulder as he shouted. ¡°Stop Red! Even if you are old enough, you are going to get a beating.¡± Some part of the eastern countries, parents use force as a tool to discipline their children a polar opposite from the western countries. A bit outdated but I grew up with it. Some parts of it are good in a sense but some isn¡¯t.
I shrug his hand off, while continue to barricade the sliding door. ¡°this is the last straw Red, stop or¡¡± I had enough of his sudden temper, I¡¯m trying to save his life right now but he was making it difficult for me. I intervene his words.
¡°Or what? You are going to hit me? Can you halt that for a while. I¡¯m trying to save our lives here¡± I didn¡¯t pull any punches as I flat out reveal my intention. ¡°you!...¡± my father was starting to explode as he was ready to hit me, my mother was doing her utmost holding him off.
Black on the other hand, question me. ¡°save? From what?¡± before I could reply to his words. An agonizing scream was heard from the outside, as the scream of countless men bellow out.
¡°ARGHHH!!¡±
¡°STOPP!! NOO!!¡±
¡°Fuck! They are already here¡± I quicken my pace as I rush out to barricade with the best that I could. ¡°They? Whose they?¡± he tries to question me but his eyes unknowingly peek from the half barricaded sliding door and what he saw made him flustered.
Black started to help me out earnestly trying to get his hands on anything to barricade the sliding doors and the windows. My father and my mother were once again speechless by the sudden change of my younger brother.
Even my father¡¯s temper cools down a bit. But his tone of voice still carries that anger. ¡°Uth? What are you doing?¡± my mother asks Black. Uth is his real name while Black is his nickname. Let¡¯s just say his skin complexion during his younger days was quite dark.
¡°no time to explain mom! Help me and brother barricade the door¡± as Black tries to explain, yelp for help starts coming out from around the house as screams of pain rang in the air. ¡°What¡¯s going on out there¡± mother was still oblivious to the situation.
With the surrounding becoming more grave, father¡¯s anxiousness starts to overcome his temper. ¡°Red, what do you know? What¡¯s going on out there¡±.
¡°you wouldn¡¯t believe me even if I tell you¡± I didn¡¯t have time as for now that is sufficient reason enough for me to tell him. ¡°Black, try to finish it up. I¡¯m going upstairs, I need to barricade the sliding door to the balcony.¡± I left my clueless parent and my brother who finishes it up those miniscule small holes that needs to be cover up.
Upstairs, I push the bed vertically blocking the sliding door. I push a few closets reinforcing the barricade. Then the metal gate in front of my house starts to bang. As the sounds of those goblins reaches my ears. ¡°Damn it! Aren¡¯t my neighbors enough yet¡± I was cold as I even thought of using the neighbors as decoy awhile for these ugly creatures but they must have try to lock themselves in also.
¡°bro, they try to break in through the gates.¡± Black came up from my back and report to me of what he saw. ¡°We have tried our best, for now find something to use as a weapon and switch off the lights below¡± I suggest him to find a weapon to defend ourselves.
¡°Okay¡± my parents were the next one to spoke out. As my brother leave, my mother was the one who spoke out. She was anxious by the loud banging of our gate. ¡°Son, what¡¯s going on out there? you know something? right?¡± my father was by the side waiting for my answer.
¡°I don¡¯t know, this is only an assumption. Those things out there can kill us without a cinch. So for now we need to stay here and stay put.¡± Father was silent as he has no words to say. He wasn¡¯t the kind of father who can easily say an apology. I walk out and switch off the lights as I left the whole second floor in darkness.
¡°Son, why do we need to switch off the lights?¡±
¡°Precaution, don¡¯t want them to know we are here, mom dad stay in your bedroom.¡± I left them not before my mother question me again. ¡°What are you going to do?¡±
¡°Nothing mom, just stay put¡± I left the second floor as I went downstairs. Leaving them to themselves. Not wanting to make them more worried.
As I went downstairs, I glance back for a while as I caught notice my father solemn expression on his face as he took a glance a to the stairs as he quietly went in his room.
Downstairs, the living room was dark as the night. Black was taking a peek from the gap of the barricade. ¡°how is it going?¡± I whisper quietly not wanting to attract attention.
¡°They still banging the gate but most of them have left. Only one or two of them are left.¡±
¡°Good, Black go try and call up the police. We need help.¡± I order him to call the police as of now, without any combat personnel, these goblins would be a menace.
As I rummage through the storage with the aid of my hand phone light, I grab a hold a hammer for self-protection in case anything bad happens.
I went to the living room and sat leaning my back to the barricade as I open my phone. With the internet connection still there, I open a popular search engine and what greets me at the main page was baffling.
I stumble on my words as I let out a small voice.
¡°end of the world?¡±

02-Bloody Night
The webpage title was enough to stricken me in fear. ¡®end of the world? Isn¡¯t that a bit too farfetched?¡¯ but my idea of farfetched was ceased by the image befalling my eyes.
¡°this¡ it can¡¯t be¡± in front of me was a wall post in social media of a traveller in Japan. With an additional video catching the scene of an incredible and dire moment. I turn off the sound as I witness the video. A Caucasian man who was crying in tears as he hid himself behind a wall. After a lengthy video of him crying and mumbling something, the view change as the video shakes as if he was moving and his hand unstable.
But as soon as I saw what he was filming, it wasn¡¯t his hand which was shaking but rather it was the ground trembling. The video was shooting a creature which was monstrous in size. Even after he points it upwards the head of the creature was not in sight. A monster with the size of a skyscraper, strolling through the road passing by over buildings in the metropolis of Tokyo.
From the look of it the traveller was taking safety on top of a building as the camera wide view angle shows the broken down road with craters due to the weight of the beast. The monstrous creature was two legged with its reptilian skin evidently shown through the video. At the end of the video, the building crumble as the traveller ran in frantic as it shown a monstrous tail sweeping through the building demolishing a part of it.
¡®gojira? It can¡¯t be¡¯ a fictional monster created by man for the entertainment of the masses. ¡®This is not a trailer for a new movie right¡¯ but that notion of mine can¡¯t be true since this video seems too real to compare to computer graphic and the time. All of these posts from Japan were all less than one day in age with the date 1st January 2017. The mark of a new year seems to be the mark of the world¡¯s end. I scroll around for a few more post dated at the first of January and all of it were from the east. From Japan to Korea and from Korea to the Philippines. All of it were the same, monsters rampaging through the cities, countless number of people unknown whether dead or alive.
All of this seems surreal since my current situation although there were goblins but if larger monsters ran amok in its place what the hell can I actually do to fend it. Still it was the new reality that I need to face. Goblins, real life gojira and who knows what else exist out there. I turn off the phone as I my whole body slopes down. The goblins didn¡¯t stop their rampage as the screams of my neighbors early demise came from both side of the house. My grip on the hammer tightens as letting go wasn¡¯t an option.
There were so many things to think about but right at this moment I have nothing on my mind. My mind went blank as the emptiness leads me to my slumber. I slept.
BAM! BAM!
The sound of a metal door being bang reaches the furthest end of my eardrum awakening me from my slumber. The dozing eyes of mine open to the sight of the metal door of the back kitchen. My sight was poor within the darkness but even without sight the loud sound was enough for me to know, the goblin is close to breaking in.
I quickly stand rushing to the kitchen. Didn¡¯t realize they would barge in through the backdoor. Gripping the hammer tightly, my hand can¡¯t help but to tremble within this dire situation. For one thing, I never got in a fight much less in a life and death situation. I rack my brain trying to figure out how to deal with this as I pull a chair and block the wooden door by placing it at the door knob. A trick I learn from the movies, don¡¯t know if it will work but it was worth a shot. Thankfully there were two doors overlapping each other at the kitchen one the metal door and the inner side a wooden door.
Even then, my nervousness was still not relief. The voice of those goblins wasn¡¯t pleasant to the ears. I look around in the kitchen trying to find something usable in this situation but none catches my interest. Beads of sweats start to rain down on my forehead as my heart starts to beat louder and faster.
Then it breaks!
The sound of metal being thrown away clearly heard by the ears of mine. As the metal clutters on the ground it rattles my heart. Then the goblin starts hacking down on the wooden door. Each hit one by one starts to penetrate the 4 inch thick door. Bits of wood and splinter start to fly in the air covering the floor of my home¡¯s kitchen.
Then an arm appears out of the small hole made by the diligent goblin. Its swing its arm in the air trying to struggle into that small hole attempting to enter it. But like I expected their brain wasn¡¯t that clever as compare to us human. At least there¡¯s some resemblance of those goblins that I know with these real life goblins. Their kind wasn¡¯t brightest of them all.
Even though they were not a clever bunch, the scene of them easily taking down a fully grown men with ease was clear statement that they are not the weakest creature. Then a head appear out of the small hole, it glance side to side until its sight found me sitting beside the door. My whole body tremble as the flickering yellow eyes of his was focusing straight on me. As if their eyes were meant for the dark.
¡®fuck! They have night vision¡¯ i can hear the devious smile plastered on its face as the disgusting laugh of the goblin permeate through the air. Surprisingly, I by instinct moves without notice swinging the hammer on my hand directly at the pop out head on the door.
My forceful swing smack straight at the top of its head knocking its face facing downwards. The goblin inclines his head trying to spout gibberish words from his mouth. But I daringly hit it again swinging the hammer wildly. As my instinct tells me that letting this creature voice out would mean imminent danger. Gritting my teeth, the hammer head made contact with the goblin¡¯s head countless times as I didn¡¯t stop bludgeoning the head.
I didn¡¯t let out a tint of my voice, as being careful was my first priority. I didn¡¯t know how many swings I made to the goblin¡¯s head but all I know is after a while, I stop hitting it and saw the limp head of the goblin motionless on the wooden door, not moving even for just a bit. My buttock drop to the floor as I my lungs try to catch my breath.
Even within the darkness my eyes adapted a bit, seeing drip of blood pooling on the floor. But then, the head jerks a bit, I didn¡¯t miss it as I swing my hammer one more time cracking its skull leaving it lifeless one more time. I prepare myself if it was still alive but seconds pass and the head didn¡¯t move. I nudge with the hammer intending to see whether it¡¯s alive or not and thankfully it didn¡¯t move.
I plop down to the floor with my breath ragged. For a shut-in like me this amount of moving was too much leading to my fatigue body. I rest for a while on the floor and afterwards I went to the toilet with the lights on. To my surprise, what I saw in the mirror froze me on the spot. Blur numbers fading in and out of the mirror caught me by surprise. My intent of washing my face was put on hold as I witness this spectacle.
The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
¡®What¡¯s this¡¯ I touched the mirror unable to believe of what¡¯s appearing in it. My touch was pointless as I can only feel the smooth slippery glass. It was simple words with single digit numbers, I read out within the conscious of my mind.
¡®Lv. 1 StR 3 vIT 3 AGI 4 sta 2 DeX 2¡¯ is this, what I think it is. I was befuddled by all the things that happening. From goblins to large monsters and now this. A numeral description of my capabilities in other words these criteria represent who I am. The kind of things that you can only see in the virtual world and not real life.
Contemplating on what a few of this description meant. I understood basically most of it except for sta. it can be understood as stamina but I have never encounter such status within every game that I have play. As I was contemplating about this, the wooden door creaks with the noise of goblins prattling at the back of the kitchen.
¡®shit!¡¯ I walk out of the toilet and saw another hole was made above the lifeless goblin¡¯s head. The prying eyes of the goblins glinted within the darkness. The hacking of the door was becoming more frequent with the size of the hole increased in size as each swing of their blunt weapon. I need reinforcement but exposing my brother to danger isn¡¯t an option for me. I brace myself for the incoming goblins. I turn on the kitchen lights, as being in the dark would only expose me to more danger.
It¡¯s better to even the odds with both my sight to its maximum usage. As the lights open, the goblins back away from the wooden door surprised by the sudden light. I stand in the middle of the kitchen facing the hole door, staring at the goblins hacking the door again making the hole much bigger.
Seeing its prey in front of it, two goblins couldn¡¯t wait for one another as they struggle to enter with only an arm and a head manage to get through. These goblins were making a ruckus while it seems more of them were pushing from behind. I show no mercy as I know if I gave them a chance they would never let me live.
I know, upon this moment. The quality of cherishing a life will be erased. Only one thing resides in my mind and that was to survive. I maneuver my hammer in a wide swing hitting the stuck goblin with the sound of a cracking skull. The goblin was dazed for a while before it realized it been hit.
¡°KUKI!! KWIK!!¡±
Both goblins getting noisier flinging their arm around intending to enter the kitchen with their resolved no doubt eating me alive. Before it could happen, my madden swing landed on both heads of the goblins. I was hitting them non-stop not taking even a breather as the metal head of my hammer slam onto their skulls crushing their ugly big head turning them more horrifying than their present self.
¡°huff huff huff¡± my breath was ragged as I exert my utmost energy killing these two ugly aberration. Outside, the goblins were becoming more agitated in their behavior. Once again I flop down to the floor taking a break saving up energy for the next to come.
As I waited for my body to regain its strength, I suddenly remember about the numerical statistics that I saw. I went to the toilet once again and notice the flickering numbers floating within the reflection of the mirror.
¡®I level up?¡¯ within the mirror world I see my level increased by one. But what astound me more was the plus sign appearing beside the number for every attribute, subconsciously I held out my hand slightly touching the plus sign.
¡®eyy???¡¯ the plus sign disappears as the number for VIT increases from three to four. ¡®arghhh!!!!¡¯ I grab my head knowing that I made a big mistake. ¡®Damn it! I accidentally distributed it to vit.¡¯ A stroke of bad luck that I really do not appreciate. How the hell am I going to know that touching the damn mirror would act as a touch screen.
¡®But wait, shouldn¡¯t it be at least four more points left to distribute? It can¡¯t be only one right?¡¯ but to my dismay it was really only one point for me to distribute. If this was a game, this point allocation is certainly rubbish! What kind of game would only let someone to power up with only one point. I thought of planning to distribute it among only two of these attributes. But with my accidental touch and my so called careful growth plan it didn¡¯t seem to work out.
¡°KUKI!!!¡±
BANG!
A loud sound crashing down from the back. I let out my head and saw the broken down wooden door lying on the floor. One by one those goblin steps into the kitchen. I didn¡¯t notice from before but my sense of my smell picks up a stinking smell. Nonetheless the source must be coming from these creatures. Ugly, short, and smelly. What other negative features that these goblin have.
The goblins saw my head peeking out from the toilet. One of them yells out while the others follow from behind rushing towards me as if I¡¯m a feast for their grumbling stomach.
I didn¡¯t stand still as I ran up to the stairs taking higher ground. ¡°argh!¡± a blunt hit landed on my back. ¡®shit! These ugly creatures are fast!¡¯ I withstand the pain making my way up the stairs. These goblins are a handful; their bodies are nimble and quite agile, reaching me in a matter of second.
As soon as I reach up the stairs I swing randomly in wide angle to my back hitting one goblin accidentally making it drop to the floor. I took my stance while the rest of these goblins start huddling up attempting to climb the narrow flight of stairs. Taking higher ground, I randomly swing the hammer attempting to fend off these goblins. Thankfully since the stairs was quite narrow, at most only two of them can confront me head on.
Still, facing me them head on was not easy like before, rather it puts me in a difficult situation. Although they were short, their body were wide thus maneuvering in this small space of stairs prove to be difficult for them. The reach of my hammer were too short for it to hit these ugly things. But then my back bump to something as I glance backward and saw an old golf bag that belongs to my father.
¡®golf club!¡¯ a lucky encounter which supposedly I should know already since my father placed this bag on the staircase for quite a long time now. Never mind my ignorance, I took out an iron golf club and quickly swing to the approaching goblin. The iron head smack head on to the side of the goblin face delivering it face directly to the concrete wall. Then another confront me, it was too fast the motion of its bone blunt weapon were already upon me.
I stand my ground, blocking the incoming attack using the shaft of the golf club. The force was too much as my knee bends and my back leans backwards. For a creature of this size, their small body does pack a punch. My heart was racing like a locomotive train on fire, the loom of death kept appearing on my mind leading me to be afraid of those negative outcomes. I pull my weight together as I use all of my strength pushing the goblin with the strength my leg. It was not a kick but rather a forceful push, knocking the goblin back a bit as I swing the golf club in succession like a fourth batter hitting a homerun. It hit the goblin body driving its step backward crashing through the group of goblins below.
The first goblin that¡¯s been hit before has already gotten up in its feet rushing towards me angered by my show of force. The goblin was like in a frenzy state, swinging its weapon around randomly hitting the floor staircase and the wall. I back away from his onslaught as I prepare to lash out my own attack.
¡®Damn it, where¡¯s my brother when I need him.¡¯ I did hope for my brother to come for my rescue since my parent¡¯s bedroom was just up the stairs. But for once, he¡¯s being too obedient from my order. Can¡¯t he hear the ruckus at the staircase?
¡°argh!¡± I let out a painful cry as one of those random swings hit me during my momentary lapse of complaining. The bone club hit me on the shin; my pain tolerance was quite low seeing how the pain made me to drop on one knee. Even the previous hit from before starts to spread on me like a pulsating node of pain.
In the moment of anger, I lash out a random swing of my own. The iron head of the club clash with the bone club pushing mine away as the force behind the opponent swing was too much for me to contend. I can¡¯t believe a goblin would be this strong. The undisturbed attack smacks my thigh delivering an intense pain jolting my whole nervous system.
¡°Fuck!¡± saliva dripping from my mouth as the pain was too much for me to bear. I subconsciously retreat limping up the stairs. Unknowingly fear has grip the whole being of me. I was too na?ve, the first two times were consider easy due to those goblins simply stuck and not being able to retaliate but now with them being able to counter attack. I was left with bruises on my body.
But as I ascend up the stairs, I saw the door to my parent¡¯s bedroom. My whole body froze as the thought of my family being mutilated by those scums flashes in my mind. I grit my teeth as I turn back facing those goblins once again.
¡°DIE!¡± I yell in an attempt to burn my courage facing these ugly creatures. With a strengthen resolve, the iron head flew in an arc from above hitting the goblin straight to its collarbone. A slight cracking sound was heard but that did not stop my onslaught and neither does them. Another goblin encroaches upon me as I quickly swing the golf club smashing its face from the side.
I kick the one with broken collarbone sending it back to the group colliding and disarray their already chaotic group. Taking the window of opportunity, a flurry of attack befalls on to the unfortunate goblin that was hit on the face. Attack after attack, the head was utterly disfigured with some part of it turning into mush.
My breath was erratic and I didn¡¯t have time to recuperate as another goblin launch its attack. ¡®one down¡¯ I mutter slowly as I already prepared myself to face these abomination. I didn¡¯t know how much time has passed but all I can remember was my constant arm constantly swinging the golf club hitting as many goblins that I could while receiving my fair share of injuries.
The long fought battle end with only the sound of my shallow breath. My left forearm was utterly broken while defending my face from the brunt of an attack. But that didn¡¯t stop me from pushing forward clobbering one of them to death. Those mangy goblins even dare biting me if not for my quick retaliation I would have lost a chunk of meat. I look down at the bite mark with blood seeping out of it, thinking about it, I didn¡¯t know how I survive this ordeal. I was fighting them single handedly, one against eight or so. A miracle I would I say but a miracle that end me up in tatter.
I thought of cleaning myself up but my body felt heavy like a ton of lead and not an ounce of energy was within my body. My eyelids were becoming heavier as I droop down slowly. ¡®No I can¡¯t sleep yet. i¡¡¯ I fall asleep amidst the stinking corpse and pool of goblin¡¯s blood. The night was silent as nothing disturbs me.

03-Revitalize Body
1st January 2017
I woke up with the spinning fan greeted my sight. My head was a bit confused, but I force myself to lean upwards. Groaning a bit in pain, as I prop my upper body up, my left forearm stings a bit. My upper body quickly falls to the left side as the left forearm wasn¡¯t able to support me.
¡°son!¡± a familiar feminine voice. I glance to the sides and saw my mother with tears dripping on her cheeks. Beside her was my brother who look quite downfall. ¡°bro, you okay?¡± he had a gloomy look on his face. dad on the other hand was sitting at the corner of the room with his face downcast,
I don¡¯t know what happen to him. but at least all of them are fine and uninjured. Looking outside out of the window, the sun was already out and it was as bright as the day. ¡°how long I have been asleep?¡± I ask out in random.
¡°Don¡¯t know, probably 3 or 4 hours I guess¡± said Black while he glances at his smartphone screen. For him who fainted, 3 to 4 hours can be considered good enough. But as he inspect his body. The injury that was inflicted on him was still there but less prominent. It wasn¡¯t bright red as before and the pain was substantially lessened. The bite mark has healed a bit with scabs already forming. It was a miracle for such deep bite wound to form a scab, usually one would still bleeding with flesh exposed. I know since I do learn a thing or two about puncture wound injury a topic I learn back in college.
Still, I focus myself on to the biggest problem. My left forearm. I raise it up a bit and try to clench my fingers into a fist. Thankfully, it can still move albeit there¡¯s pain along with it but it was still a sign that my nerve was still intact and my bone recovering. Touching my forearm I felt the pain was dispersed in all direction, I need an x-ray scan to see whether it¡¯s broken in pieces or just a fracture. Still, although painful seeing it able to move was gratifying enough.
¡°son please don¡¯t confront them, you will die!¡± a trace of fear in her voice but I need to reason with her. ¡°mom, if not for me, all of us would be dead by now. So don¡¯t worry, I try not to die¡± I try to reassure her but at the same time I made her even more worried. ¡°son, please don¡¯t!¡± I don¡¯t really have a way with words. My intent is usually misunderstood by my wrong usage of words. but what can I say I¡¯m a true blooded introvert.
I was half naked while only wearing my short briefs. Most blood stains were already clean off thanks to my mother I guess. I walk out of the bed, trying to stand. I barely had the energy to stand but it was enough for now. I walk towards the bathroom which was connected to this room after a burdensome effort of walking. My legs were also badly injured as I limp a bit while walking dragging these two heavy feet of mine.
¡°son don¡¯t move you are still hurt. Please just rest¡± she was too worried about me. I politely turn down her sweet gesture as I made my way to the bathroom. ¡°its fine mom, its fine.¡± Taking a step in the bathroom, the mirror in front of me was already reflecting what I was looking for.
¡®Level three, huh~ I thought I level up a bit more since I took down a lot of those pesky goblins¡¯ I look closely to the numbers display and not one change compare to previous one. This point usage is basically too weak. One point is not going to make a difference. Still with one point to use, I didn¡¯t hesitate as I touch the plus sign correspond to strength.
The number increased to four. I wash my face with the cold water. The cool sensation envelops me in peace. Since the fight from last night was akin to burning my whole body in fire. Being calm was my usual self and I would like to stick to it.
Stepping back into the room, I saw my dad already stand to my mother side with his hand clenching my mother¡¯s finger tightly. He was looking at me rather determine as if he had make up his mind on something. I can¡¯t help but to ask; ¡°what is it? is there something wrong¡±
¡°I will help! So you don¡¯t need to go out there anymore¡± his voice carries determination along with that hint of anger in it. To me his voice can¡¯t really run away from that anger like tone, not that I mind. ¡°nah, it¡¯s okay. I will be fine.¡± I casually spoke while I prepare to go out intending to find some clothes to wear. My bedroom was at the opposite so it would be a brief trip.
¡°no son! You can¡¯t! I¡¯m the father of this household and my words goes without question!¡± he¡¯s spouting that authority kind of thing again. I know he¡¯s my father and all, sure I would gladly comply with it if the world was still the same like in 2016 but this year maybe not. The world has abruptly changed and having a fix salary isn¡¯t going to save lives in this brand new age which I assume it will be.
¡°sorry dad, but I will tell you the truth, you won¡¯t last even a second out there. Trust me¡± I non-chalantly tell him the reason. ¡°on what basis are you telling me that?¡± he won¡¯t give up, stubborn old man. ¡°I¡¯ve been through it and I nearly die. Enough reason.¡± I didn¡¯t want to talk any longer since my jaw was quite aching a bit. Jeez, the injuries on my body were no joke since even talking was a bit difficult.
As I drag my body to the door, I slowly turn the knob not wanting to induce any sound. Carefulness is the key in anything!
I open the door and slowly slide out as I close the door back. I accidently glance to the staircase and saw the horrifying scene of dead corpses. The smell was also getting worse, nauseating to the core. A gut wrenching scene. out of the corner of my eyes, I saw something.
¡®what do we have here¡¯ I made my way downstairs and walk among the dead goblin corpses. I squat down and fiddle with one of the corpses. To my surprise, a small vial laid there among the gores of the goblins. I pick it up with utmost disgust as I shake it in the air a few times intending to shake off those smelly mushes.
¡®red liquid? it can¡¯t be can it¡¯ I was intrigue. One of the important factors in role playing game, loot! Every creature that dies under the hand of a player, a loot will drop off from the dead corpse of the creature. Like a reward after accomplishing a task. But this? in real life. What kind of logic it dictates.
Or am I just running the guns here, this vial can be something already kept by this goblin all along and the suddenly appeared loot after vanquishing an enemy may not be possible. Thus to disagree that hypothesis of mine, I scour through the disgusting corpses intending to find any loot that I can gather.
Unfortunately, this small vial was the only thing I gain among the corpses. ¡®cheh! I guess the impossible is still impossible.¡¯ The so called loot appearing out of nowhere didn¡¯t exist like I thought it was. Still I need to experiment further. A bit of hope couldn¡¯t hurt would it.
I went upstairs once again and wore fresh new clothes. Even with an injured body, I pressed on and went downstairs, I pick up the hammer that I drop before and carefully made my way to the kitchen. Thankfully no goblin came around here. With the kitchen leaving a door hole there. I can¡¯t help feel a bit worried. It would be troublesome if those creatures step in here once again. Nevertheless, I went upstairs and seek the help of my brother.
¡°Black you need to come with me¡± my tone was flat showing neither interest nor fear. ¡°What! Didn¡¯t you say it was dangerous?!¡± Black was flustered a bit since he knows what I¡¯ve been through evident by the injuries. ¡°don¡¯t worry, I just need your help carrying those corpse back at the kitchen.¡±The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
¡°ey? Why? It¡¯s disgusting¡± he spoke those words with a disgusted face. ¡°yeah, I know and that¡¯s why I¡¯m moving them, come on we need to hurry who knows when those goblins would jump out again.¡± My brother couldn¡¯t deny my order any longer as he helps me carried the corpses to the kitchen piling them up. While the mush and gore both of us clean it up with utmost difficulty since every time we move it one of us would puke our stomach out.
Afterwards, I instruct Black to block the first floor staircase with the closets and beds piling up one another completely blocking the sole entrance of the staircase. But before we block it, I take the pleasure of taking out foods in the kitchen and store it upstairs. I even brought up a portable stove in case my mom decides to cook or something. I intended to bring the whole refrigerator up but since the sense of danger is still in play I would be defenseless while carrying that thing. Dry food would be enough for now.
¡°son, I want to help. I can¡¯t let both my sons do all the hard work¡± it was dad, he was determine in helping us and the tone of his voice was a lot more tone down as compare to before. Still I decide it would be best if he had just stay put. I know he¡¯s working type of man, but I don¡¯t want to expose him to needless danger.
¡°Sorry dad, both us are good enough besides we are just blocking the staircase. It would end in a jiffy.¡± My dad didn¡¯t push me further as he just complies. It sadden me to see him with that gloomy face but what matter was staying alive than just protecting useless sense of pride.
After completely blocking the staircase, the second floor can be considered safe. My parents are allow to roam around the second floor but there was nothing much to do. The sliding door leading up to the balcony was expose since most of the things blocking the staircase came from the barricade of the balcony.
But consider the probability of them attacking from above was minimally small thus I chose the staircase rather than the balcony entrance. ¡°son, this food is not enough for the four of us at least it can feed us for two to three days. What are we going to do?¡± all of this time my mother words carried a sense of worried and anxiousness. I have never seen her like this except when both my grandparents die. Still I need reassure my mother.
¡°mom, don¡¯t worry. I will figure out a way. Black did you call the police?¡± I ask Black.
¡°I did, but it didn¡¯t reach them. More like no one picking up¡± his words were troubling to my ears. Since if a police force who had guns and other defensive weapon couldn¡¯t uphold their station, hoping for them to help us would be like short candle waiting to dies out.
Still if I can get my hands on some firearm, it would be a lot easier confronting those goblins. This is the only the day that I resent my country for not allowing citizen to purchase firearms. If the United States faces this kind of situation, they can handle it with a breeze.
Even then, I need to think off a plan. With my current body in pain like this I don¡¯t think I can fight my way through. More so last night, the amount goblins that I saw were more or less hundred in counting. If fighting eight in one go was such a life and death circumstances then fighting a horde would be suicidal. With nothing else to do, I stare out from the window. The outside was calm and collected, unperturbed and the scary thing was no one was outside not a single soul.
Even goblins were not on sight. ¡®Could they only move during the night? Nocturnal maybe?¡¯ I take a guess of how they behave. Without any source of information, I turn on my laptop hoping that the internet connection still works.
¡®yureka!¡¯ fortunately, the internet still exist. Thank god, if not all of us are going back to the stone age. As I scroll down the search directory. The whole World Wide Web explodes into flurry of chaos and panic. It has spread to Chine, Europe, Southern America and even U.S.A.. Other than the news relaying about this event, there was no one posting about the catastrophic event. So there was not much of information that I can get from the web for now.
I was hoping for someone to post about the status character. But I was too hopeful about it. nevermind for now, I need all the rest that I can get since this body is still aching. As I close my eyes laying down on the comforter, I silently went to sleep. But I heard the slow whisper of those around me.
¡°Red is sleeping?¡±
¡°yeah, bro is sleeping. He must be too tired.¡±
¡°then let him rest then, it must have hurt real bad. Shouldn¡¯t we bring him to the hospital?¡±
¡°mom, I don¡¯t think the ambulance is available right now. Since even¡.¡±
A heartfelt notion from my mother making me easily fall asleep.
---
I woke up with eyes still heavy. But I still open it and peek through the window. The night blanket the sky whiles the street lamp lighting the road with little vision. The playground was dark with nothing on sight. But I saw those goblins running past under the street light.
Like I thought, those goblins must be nocturnal. Wait what, I can move my finger rather easily. Albeit there¡¯s still pain compare to this morning the barely moving fingers can move rather efficiently. Is this because of my status window or is it because of something else. I don¡¯t know what to think off since there are so much possibilities.
As I was thinking about the countless possibilities. Noise starts coming out from the staircase. My mind went on full on alert, as I grab the hammer and ran to the staircase. My parents and Black were already in front of the staircase, with a worried expression plaster on their face.
¡°bro, what should we do they know already we are here¡±
¡°Don¡¯t worry, those things can¡¯t go through it.¡±
¡°How can you be so sure about it?¡±
I didn¡¯t bother to respond as I went to the balcony. While grabbing one of my father abandoned golf club iron. ¡°Lock the doors, Black¡±
¡°What?¡± I didn¡¯t bother to respond as I went out and stand at the balcony with my the golf club on my hand. I close down the sliding door as I scream my lungs out.
¡°Come out!¡± I was on the brink of madness since this action of mine was utterly reckless and stupid. But I can¡¯t help myself since there¡¯s a possibility of me having a greater regeneration rate. The thought of it tremble my whole being. I know it for myself since a broken forearm couldn¡¯t be heal overnight, okay technically my forearm still hurts while moving it but the duration it took to reach this state was astonishing. An upper limb fracture usually takes at least 3 weeks and not only a day.
Without a doubt, I sense my confidence beginning to swell. With the accompaniment of the balcony dim white lamp, I hold my ground and waited for the incoming noise. Yes, those mangy goblins start flocking in front of my house, even the noisy sound from the staircase starts to migrate towards the front of the house.
A horde, yes a freaking horde. In front of my house, these goblins were gathering with their numbers no less than fifty or so. Even then I can sense, the number was rapidly increasing. My body starts to shake, having an inflated confidence was one thing but going up against these numbers with me alone was way going over the limits.
Still I waited, the goblins from below starts climbing up wall between the houses from the sides taking the initiative. With their short stout body, they really weren¡¯t adaptable in climbing since I can see their struggle. I can see a two of them manage to climb upon the ridge of the balcony with their disgusting smile plaster on their face. as they were hanging by the edge of the balcony with only their arms and head visible, I rush forward intending to end it.
I swing from above and crash down the iron head of the golf club straight to its head. once was not enough but twice make up the slack of the force behind it. the goblin drop to the ground while I hear its agonizing cry. It wasn¡¯t dead but I sure know, they at least have some injury with a few hits in the head and falling from three meter in height. I once fallen from the balcony and it hurts as hell thankfully there¡¯s my car blocking me to fall straight to the ground if not I would have hurt badly.
As I slide off the past, I concentrate on the future. I move to the other side and repeat what I did to the first goblin. Tonight will be a repetitive night and I wouldn¡¯t mind since if I shave off some of their numbers here, I can guarantee that some who are still alive around here can make it out and escape from their home.
The night passes on and my repetitive movement was beginning to tire me out. Still it was a lot easier and less stress compare to yesterday life and death duel. But then I made a mistake.
As I was concentrating to one side of the balcony, the other side managed to climb up as they jump on the balcony revealing that devilish smile. ¡®shit!¡¯ I kick down the goblins head and send it back to the ground while it fortunately fall at the protruding metal spike part of the divider of the house. At least there one less goblin that I need worry about.
I rush back to the balcony and confront that lone goblin, before others can succeed in climbing up. The goblin swing wide as I duck down easily dodging the incoming attack. I push it off using the shaft of the golf club and did an impromptu inner leg sweep. A move I imitate from a variety show I watch luckily I manage to send it down to the balcony¡¯s floor and as I quickly maneuver mounting on top of it. I use the shaft of the golf club pressing down on its neck as I put both my knee on to it as my free hand take the courtesy of grabbing the beloved steel hammer of mine.
I brought it out in case something like this happen, with the goblin below me struggling to escape from my mount and also breathing as I slowly try to crush its neck. I was not polite as I hammer down on to that helpless head an easy target until after a while a crack sound was heard and the goblin turns lifeless.
To my dismay, the time I put into this single goblin allow another one to pop out at the balcony as it incomprehensible shriek alerted me as it rush forward. ¡®damn it!¡¯ I curse out as I defend using the golf club shaft but sadly the force behind its swing manage to break it in half leaving me defenseless if I don¡¯t do anything else.
I follow my instinct as I rush forward to the goblin taking this small chance of it being open. I punch straight to its neck, leaving it coughing a bit as I further took the chance and grapple it from behind. Both my legs lock its lower limb and both my arm restraint its neck with a choke hold. Although with my amateurish skill, I manage to execute it with a bit of difficulty.
The goblin couldn¡¯t stand any longer as it plop to the ground and I tightening the grip of the choke hold. The goblin try to swing its club vigorously hitting my arm in the process, my head takes cover behind that smelly goblin¡¯s head but I withstand the pain and try to twist its neck. After a few struggling attempt, a nice tune of bone snapping was heard and another lifeless corpse.
I don¡¯t know how I manage to pull that stunt off but knowing my life would be in danger put me on the edge and maybe contributing to my success. The strength addition poses a bit of help since I felt more stronger while confronting these goblins, it wasn¡¯t as weak as last night.
My breath was ragged showing my stamina depleting but the goblins keep on persisting trying to climb this balcony of mine. I quickly take measure stopping the goblins from both sides from having a foothold on the balcony as even facing a lone goblin was already tiresome. Just like this my night passes on.

04-Blood!
From the inner dwelling of the house, a pair of parents and their son was watching an unbelievable scene. Right in front of them was someone they knew which they have never seen that part of him. ¡°is that really our son¡± spoke the woman who looks like in her early 50s.
¡°bro is really awesome¡¡± exclaim the younger son, Black as he watch the scene where his older brother pummel down those ugly creatures down to the ground until it limp lifeless. Both the parents were trembling as if they can¡¯t believe their son was this ruthless. Even the father was stump in silent as he doesn¡¯t have any words to describe what he was seeing.
At first they are worried about Red going out there alone doing such a risky act but those thought slowly drifted away as this scene clearly made them forget. This eldest son of theirs was not a little amateur child that they think he was. They know so little about him that they don¡¯t know where to begin. The son who they thought who was always has an expressionless face spot a furious look on his face.
They could only watch from the inner side as they were separated by a transparent sliding door which was only 2 inch thick. Nonetheless, they witness it all. Red who was defending the fort swings his hammer down like the marvel hero Thor bashing those numbskulls down to the ground. Well comparing him to the mighty asgardian was a bit far-fetched but at least he had that small tint of resemblance with him.
Even so, at times one or two goblins manage to jump on to the balcony. Making it somewhat difficult for Red to handle. But Red didn¡¯t give up as he tirelessly pushes his effort in decimating those goblins. At one time, two of those goblins manage to come up and he had big problem contending them. Knowing he would have trouble if he didn¡¯t manage it fast.
Red dash forward and kick it as soon as it arrived on the balcony. He didn¡¯t give time to the goblin to retaliate as he use the opposite side of the nail-hammer that he hold using its sharp side and swing right to its face. Fortunately his aim hit its eyes and a gush eyeball fluid burst in the air. He forces it deeper and blood seeping out, the goblin try to struggle but it was futile as Red chug the hammer upwards bringing the sharp end to its brain.
He didn¡¯t know whether it will work or not, but since the goblin is not moving he was sure of it. It all happen in mere seconds or so but the other goblin already slam it¡¯s blunt weapon to the back of the defenseless Red. ¡°argh! Fuck you!¡± Red cursed out loud as he turn to his back and intending to fight it off but sadly the hammer was stuck on to the skull of that lifeless goblin.
He¡¯s attempt was cut short as the goblin pummel him again with the blunt weapon as it hit his shoulder. ¡°argh!¡± he yell out in pain again as the attack just now must have at least crack his shoulder a bit. Red didn¡¯t just stood there and receive the brunt of the attacks as he dash out while grabbing the dead goblin¡¯s blunt weapon which he defeated from before.
The grip was rather hurting since it wasn¡¯t meant to be grip but he didn¡¯t have a choice. He slam the blunt weapon to the flank of the goblin making it stun a bit as he dash forward and tackle it slamming it to the glass window. He continues on and swings the blunt weapon to its head sending it in a daze. Red didn¡¯t stop as he was precisely aiming for its head.
But then, his shoulder gives out due to the pain and his attack was halted. The goblin although dazed for awhile, regains balance and retaliates. Red with his reflex block the incoming attack with his right forearm as the force of it was enough to crack his bone. ¡®fuck!¡¯ he kick down the goblin and with his aching right arm, he smash its head once before he deliberately rush forward and bite off a chunk of meat from the neck of the goblin.
Blood gushes out like a geyser as it splash on to his face. The goblin stumble as it desperately try to cover its bite wound and a frighten look covered on its face. It was the first time it felt fear against this human. Since the one he fought all were easy like a farm animal ready to be slaughter.
With heavy amount of blood loss the goblin soon faint and drop to the ground. He spit off that rotten chunk of meat on to the floor as he change his hand of the blunt weapon. His right forearm was badly hurt and he couldn¡¯t move it around without eliciting a terrible amount of pain. Although his left forearm was still hurting but compare to his right it was still usable.
¡®Damn it¡¯ the situation turn out to be a lot worse. The pain he accumulated beginning to wear him down. Still the amount of goblin trying to climb up didn¡¯t stop. He defended the balcony like his life was on the line.
He was tired, his breath was ragged, his stamina almost depleted, his eyelid becoming heavier. His arrogant demeanor from before wasn¡¯t there any longer. He thought since he was healing quite fast, he could fight longer while regenerating but that assumption of his was full of fault. He didn¡¯t know the exact rate of it thus with increased of injuries that begin to stack upon each other he didn¡¯t put it into his calculation.
But regretting now was pointless since he still need to fight them off. The night darkness along with the invisible numbers of goblin out there made him to shiver in fear a bit. Since he know if he falls here. The next to come would be his family.
One by one he throw off those pesky goblins back to the ground. His movement was becoming sluggish as his mind was starting to felt the fatigue. But then out of coincidence he remembers the small red vial he procures.
He takes it out from his pocket and drank the whole vial with one big gulp.
---
I can feel it, I can feel an energy spreading through my whole body. I stare at my forearm which was in pain but currently I can easily clench into a fist and move it around with ease. Even my left forearm didn¡¯t hurt any longer as well as my whole body. Although I can see still the bruise mark, the pain was lessen to a degree.Love what you''re reading? This red liquid that I drank was no doubt a healing potion. If not how can I my whole body felt anew in just one drink of it. A treasure among treasure. I felt frustrated that I need to use it after knowing such remarkable effect but I¡¯m not allowed to complain. With the vial, I manage to reclaim my vigor as I know I would go down easily without it.
The night went on as I defend the balcony against these creatures. Soon dawn came and the goblins beginning to disappear as they ran into the nearby houses. But as the morning light breaches the sky, I saw a lone goblin stare at me as I look back.
¡®That goblin¡¯. If I¡¯m not mistaken that goblin was certainly the one that kill the unfortunate old man. After a stare off between the both of us, the goblin left and ran toward one of the houses by the sides. Knowing that the fight has ended, I walk back into the house. To my surprised my parent was still up with eyes bag a sufficient evidence of them staying awake.
¡°mom, dad¡± I pass by them and went to the bathroom. They didn¡¯t speak anything as they only look at me with pitiful looking eyes. It seems they wanted to say something but could not say it out loud. I remove my clothes as I went into the bathroom; I take a quick shower washing off the dry blood and getting rid off the stench.
Although halfway through I revitalized from the aid of the red potion. Past that moment, I fought and my injuries were not light but at least I managed to survive. I lost count but at least the number of goblins I struck down probably more than ten or so. A lot compare to last night.
I look at the mirror and astonishingly I reach level 5. It seems the number that I kill probably a lot since I jump from two to five in just a night. With three points to spare, I distribute it equally among str, vit and sta.
< Lv. 5 StR 5 vIT 5 AGI 4 sta 3 DeX 2>
I walk out of the bathroom and quickly fall asleep. The fatigue has taken ahold of my body as my conscious quickly drift into the dream world not bother by my parents who were nervous around me.

2nd January 2017 (night)
Soon I awaken to the bunch of noise surrounding me.
¡°oh god please help us!¡± it was no doubt my mother¡¯s voice.
¡°hold the door! Hold the door!¡± my dad¡¯s voice and why he¡¯s so apprehensive.
¡°dad, I¡¯m bleeding ugh¡¡± Black?
¡°no! Uth!!¡± her words carried a sense of despair as she cried soon afterwards.
I quickly woke up from my comforter and saw my father struggling to hold down the door with the outside already dark, while my mother weeps upon the side of my brother whose body was drench in blood. I was in shocked!
What happen? How many hours did I fall asleep? Why didn¡¯t they wake me up?
Many thoughts ran through my mind but seeing my brother who already close his eyes. a bad premonition came to befall on me.
¡°no! no! no!¡± I shouted with anger seeing this scene. a scene where I didn¡¯t want it to happen. A scene I try my utmost to avoid having but my rotten luck get the best of me.
¡°argh!¡± the sound of dad anguish cry. His shoulder started to bleed after I saw what the cause of it is. Goblins!
¡°son you are awake!¡± my father spoke with his voice receding down in tone. I had no time for pointless chatter as I stand up and ran to study table. I rummage around the drawers and saw what I needed. Grabbing it, I ran back to the balcony door and quickly inspect my brother.
¡®good!¡¯ he still has his pulse although its slowing down at least he¡¯s still alive. I cut out his t-shirt using the scissor that I found from the drawer and saw the bloody hole in his abdomen. The hole was deep, and blood can¡¯t stop gushing out. I hold both of my mother¡¯s hand put it on top of the wound.
¡°mom! Press it harder! Press it harder! Don¡¯t let go, understand!¡± I raise my voice intending to snap my mother out of her wailing of sadness. Her word stutters as she spoke. ¡°Red, Uth is dead, he¡¯s dead.¡± I can¡¯t believe my mother having a breakdown right now. With no other choice and a heavy heart I slap the face of my mother in hope of waking her up.
Slap!
¡°Red?¡± she hold left cheek which I slap as she stare at me with a confused look. ¡°mom! Please put on pressure on the wound and don¡¯t let go!¡± I try to give a reason to her but she was still believing that Uth was dead. ¡°But he¡¡±
¡°MOM! I will save him! I will save Uth!¡±A reassurance. That was the only thing I need to light up the hope in her eyes. After hearing my words, she quickly gain my trust as she press down the wound that was flooded with blood.
I walk to dad and said ¡°dad, help mom. I will handle it¡± my father could only slowly look at me as he let out a small smile. He spoke to me in simple words. ¡°go get them son¡±
Dad return to mother¡¯s side as he slowly drags his body there. As the sliding door without anything to hold start creaking ready to topple down. I grip tight on to the scissors in my hand as I slide down the door push the group of goblins in front of the door with all my strength. I spoke out in a silent mutter.
¡°I will give them hell¡±
Three to four goblins who flocks the front of the door was push down by me as I quickly pierce one of them to their eyes using the pointed sharp scissors. I dig deep not until I was convince it was dead. I force myself to dislodge the scissors as I push the dead goblin into the group of goblins that was grouping up at the balcony.
My other hand quickly closes the door behind me, as I guard the door and punch the daylight out of one of them. The goblins were huddling around together like a can of sardine. Thanks to that I was only going up against four of them at one time.
Time is of the essence; I grab one of their head and quickly stab its eyes multiple times before releasing my grip. The goblin falls down easily. If it¡¯s not dead at least it was badly injured.
¡°argh!¡± pain coursing through my body as blunt weapon hit my shoulder. These goblins were relentless in their attacks as they even try to hit from afar. But the one which hit me was the one in front of me. I retaliate and stab its abdomen push upwards lacerating its whole abdomen. Blood gushes out like a stream as the goblin was in a dazed before the other goblins get the best of it and trample it down.
Even to its own kin, it shows no empathy. I didn¡¯t bother as every time I manage to strike one down another would take the chance to bash me. I endure the pain as I know I can¡¯t move from here. I can only stand and guard and take the brunt of the attacks while finishing them off one by one.
I pierce their eyes, I stab their guts, I puncture their throats. I did my very best targeting those vital points hoping to end them in one stroke. One by one they drop like falling autumn leaves, not only I¡¯m at disadvantage in this position even them are also at disadvantage despite the massive numbers they have.
They can¡¯t move willingly within the cramp space and thus they can¡¯t avoid my killing blow. Still I also need to pay the price, my body quickly turns into tatter as bruises beginning to reopen and blood start seeping out mixing with the pool of goblins blood underneath my feet. I can feel some of my bones broken already but I didn¡¯t give a damn about it in my current situation.
I move even with pain, even with blood, and even with fatigue building up. I didn¡¯t stop even for a second as I ruthlessly stab these defile creatures into the abyss of death. I stab and stab them all with blood pouring like the rain splashing on to my face as if it was red paint coloring a blank canvas.
It was like a baptism of blood but then, a loose blunt weapon smack to the side of my head. I let my guard down, it was a first for me to receive an attack to the head. Like time stop, I was in a dazed like my brain rattle within my skull. I thought my conscious fading but then my sight caught a scene of one of those goblins trying to enter the sliding door.
¡®Damn those goblins¡¯ the thought of my parent being killed by them resurface to my mind. As my vision beginning to fade, I grit my teeth and stab the scissors right down to my thigh. Then a new sense of pain surge like a bolt of lightning traversing through my nervous system waking me up from that close call fainting.
I rush like a speeding cheetah with my prey right in front of me. I took out the scissors that was embedded in my thigh and strike it down to the defenseless goblin. The scissors pierce the throat from one end to another. I dislodged and quickly attack the other goblins like a raging tide. The numbers beginning to dwindle and the corpses of goblins beginning to pile up.
After a while only 3 to 4 were left standing at the balcony. They didn¡¯t dare jumping into the fight as the sight of me surrounded by their kin corpses was enough to instill fear onto them. I was catching my breath as I stare with cold eyes to these goblins. The 1 point in stamina proof to be quite helpful since my fatigue wasn¡¯t too overwhelming like last time. But still my whole body was aching to the core, I was barely able to stand up in this instant. Both my eyes were barely open.
But then, a goblin climbs up into the balcony rather easily. Leaping up while swinging down its blunt weapon cracking the tile floor of the balcony.
My eyes turns wide seeing the goblin, because it was none other than¡
¡°you!¡±
