《Reasons to Stay》 Reason #000 Imagine seeing all your friends and family age and die while you still remain in the same body, the same never changing body for years and years even decades, even a millennium, even forever. But the one thing that never changed about this mans eternity was the man''s rule, never stay attached to anything. He learnt it after his 4th wife died and he watched his 3 beautiful children age and die too, after 40 years he had finally had enough of seeing everything he loved died. His name he was born with has been lost to time, his names that are known are Garry Harp, Fred Lloyd, Wayne Creed, Frank Hilspitch, Harrison Gourd, Alex Dent, Quentin Young, Oliver Jacobs, Kris Hung, Christopher Marren, Hunter Hewitts, Aaron Cooper, Cedric Chance, Joshua Kaden, John Leaf, Lev Kingston, Mason Lysander, but those are only the known ones. For countless years this man has been alone and moving until one day a man with a monocle and a top hat offer him a new life, freedom from the curse of being stuck in a world where he has to hide so no one finds out about him and maybe even find out the reason this curse of immortality was put upon him. The monocle man talked about a world where gifts like these were accepted, he didn¡¯t have to hide, he didn¡¯t have to lose any loved ones because in this world there was a possibility of becoming powerful enough to stop the aging for others or start the aging process for him. The man only sighed, he had secluded himself in a bunker hundreds of years ago, his lack of a need to eat or drink made sure he didn¡¯t need to interact with others. The man got up from his chair, the and closed his book, the mysterious monocle man had befuddled him on the fact that he got into his air tight bunker but he sighed at the fact the monocle man didn¡¯t get what he truly wanted The man had never counted how long he had been alive but when he was born he still remembers that his home and his tribes was a cave. The monocle man knew how long he had been alive and it now numbered into the millions, 6 456 735 million years to be exact. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. The man had evolved along with the rest of humanity so his appearance was not of a caveman but of an average guy with an average face, short brown hair and deep blue eyes, but his eyes looked wrong though, they looked old, too old for a man who looked 20, even the monocle man could not maintain eye contact with his ancient eyes. The man walked up to monocle man and said one thing, his true wish was. ¡°I just want to join my wives, my children, my brother and sisters, my father and mother, I just want to go to where I belong¡± said the man with a angry tone, he was mad someone took away his ability to die and he was mad he could do nothing against it even with all the knowledge he had. He knew no amount of knives, horns, teeth, guns even bombs would let him die. The monocle man only smiled, he knew the truth and he was sure deep down the man knew it too. He didn¡¯t belong anywhere. ¡°How about this¡± said the monocle man as he neared towards the mans ear ¡°If you don¡¯t mind the hiding that¡¯s fine, but whoever said you had a choice in what you want?¡± the monocle In the dark room the monocle man¡¯s perfect teeth showed in his perfect smile ¡°My master had you specially made and now you¡¯re going to do as they command, which is to go to this world, I said it nicely and I told you you would have a better life there but do not mistake my tone as me being a damn salesman, I was being nice so suck it up and take it like a man, your name is now Zuriel Ulyssius and you will go to the new world and you must work for my master, all this was going to be explained when you transported but I guess you can be a stubborn, sentimental fool¡± monocle man said this with an impatient tone. Zuriel was stunned, before he got to retort monocle man backed away and blackness overtook his vision and now¡ a new adventure begins, where a man will find new reasons to live. Reason #001 Zariel woke up to the sound of a woman humming, it was a beautiful sound, like a harp suddenly gained a voice. When Zariel looked around all he could see was darkness, in fact it didn''t even feel like he was standing on anything, he had been wearing one of his finest suits today because after millions of years he had learnt that formality was key in everything, soon he grew an obsession of anything formal, his suit was made of the highest quality fabric with a red tie and a black suede vest with a pure white shirt underneath, he had his black overcoat because of the lack of heating in his bunker, his black slippers were missing, he quite liked those, although they didn''t match with his formal suit he wasn''t going to wear uncomfortable shoes in his own home. He looked down and realised everything was missing, his tie, his shirt, his overcoat, his body. He looked like he was just another part of the darkness that surrounded him. The humming stopped and a voice that sounded like tiny bells resounded "Hello, I see you have a name now, my servant isn''t the gentlest person I know but he means well, he''s just very... dedicated " The voice didn''t seem to have a source, it came from everywhere and nowhere. "Who are you? What do you want?" Zariel yelled out, turning his head in any direction to find the source of the voice. "I am Timera, I suppose you could call me a Goddess. Although I would be lacking in some areas to fully qualify. What I want is for you to listen" Zariel realised the voice wasn''t talking in the language he usually used, English, but she wasn''t speaking in any of the other 6,500 languages he also knew either. What confused him even more was that he could still understand it. "I''m listening then, it''s not like I have much else to do..." He gazed around at the blackness again, there really was nothing to do other than listen. "As you know my name is Timera, and I am the forgotten Goddess of Immortality, I am the one that gave you your gift, and before you say anything, I want you to know I am much older than you so don''t complain about a measly 6 million years" Zariel shut his mouth, it was true he was about to start complaining. "I believe you are forsaking your ability when the truth is it has given you many thing, knowledge, wealth, peace, and sometimes even happiness, I was watching when you were shot, stabbed and beaten and whenever you healed and revived I remember how glad you always felt, even after all these years and after all your cursing at me you are still afraid to die" The voice almost sounded like it was mocking him, but Zariel knew her words were true, he was still a coward and still couldn''t face death but his face remained neutral. "You have mastered almost every important skill on your world, you have gained the knowledge that men could only dream about, of course normally this is impossible with only a human mind, you should be thanking me for giving you an almost infinite memory span, it''s one of the perks of immortality" "Why are you telling me things that I already know?" "Because Zariel, I need you to accept who you are before I tell you your mission" He grew frustrated, after hundreds of years of practice he had learnt on how to always maintain a poker face, even when he raised his voice his face remained neutral and he thought about the situation in a logical way, she wanted to give him a mission but she seems to be more powerful then him therefore only he can do this mission, his mood then lightened, he had found his advantage over his opponent. "What if I refuse? What if I don''t do what you ask? I''m certain you need me because I am your only option" Zariel said, smiling inside his head. "So you think you''ve got a choice here? Please, don''t think that I can''t take back my gift and give it to someone else, I have been forgotten by the gods and by the people but all who have eternal life were granted it by me and I can take it back when I want to, the only reason I need you is because you are the most suited for the task with all the skills you have gathered" Timera said this with contempt in her voice, Zariel fell back from his offense. It was true he needed to stop hating the gift but what he hated even more was this goddess, he set aside his hate with his ''gift'' and decided getting the upperhand on her was more important. "I see you have settled, very well, I am in need of a representative in a new world, someone with my gift, keep in mind that there is only one mortal in multiverse who has my gift and that is you, I am not going to send a god to this world, I have chosen to be forgotten for reasons I cannot explain to you, in this new world you will watch over the humans and how they evolve I have given you a new name and I will give you one wish that I will fulfill to make sure this job isn''t too one sided" "One wish? so anything?" "Within my limits" "Very well, I wish to know everything about this new world if I am to watch over it" "I see your pursuit of knowledge is grander than your greed, that is an easy wish, also there is something I need to tell you before you go to this new world, it has just developed" This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. "What do you mean?" "Your world says that there was an explosion that made your world come into existence right? the ''Big Bang''? Well this universe has just had it''s big bang and this world has become a new Earth, although there is something in this world that was not on your Earth, I have also named this planet, Aravorain, the planet is dangerous but humans are needed on here, they need protection until they are strong enough to survive, this is the main reason I needed you specifically, because you have experience in... waiting" "I went through hell having to wait for so long on my planet, I am the ancestor of the humans and I waited 6 million years, don''t tell me I have to go through the endless boredom all over again" He said this in his calm tone, as he talked more, anger seeped in. In the darkness a face of a woman materialised, she was the face of Timera and looked bored, yet eyes were closed and her hair was a deep black that almsot blended into the void they were in, she looked to be in her 50''s but was quite beautiful. "I assure you there will be something new in this world to keep you preoccupied, goodbye Zariel Ulyssius and report to me their development as a species and interfere is there is a threat to them, that is your only duty, do not fail me" the face smiled, it''s eyes that had been closed this entire time open, they were completely empty of anything, not a single eyeball yet this didn''t creep out Zariel, in fact he was more intrigued, before he asked anything he started to feel like he was falling the very next second he blacked out and... He plunged into the darkness.
. . . When Zuriel awoke he was on a rock, he had his suit and slippers still on, as he looked around he saw all around his was magma and other rocks, his rock was tall and therefore not scalding hot where he was because of the lava. Zuriel had studied the fields of science that had interested him the most, when his name was Charles Darwin he wanted to show the world how he had evolved with his kind, of course he couldn''t tell people he was immortal and was there when their ancestors were just apes. Like all his other lives he pretended to grow old and pretended to die, he went onto onto other lives researching different thing and from all that he experienced he looked at his situation with a logical mind. "Well...I''m fucked" Magma collided with the rock he lay on, suddenly the whole broke in half, it fell, luckily, towards another rock, he jumped off and landed gracefully, Zariel had learnt a lot of martial arts and aerobics for stupid reasons, one of the reasons was to stop wrinkling his suits when he accidentally fell, he was much more graceful now but he had always hated physical activity and his stamina was insanely low. He was resting on his new rock that was slightly shorter but still safe from too much heat and went through all the new information in his head, he knew literally everything about this world, his current co-ordinates, even what every atom''s vibration frequency was, he hesitatingly thanked the goddess for his brain, if he was mortal he wouldn''t survive the information load or just keep his sanity. He searched for a safe place to stay for now at located it. Looking around he found the mountain he had seen in his thoughts, he was glad that information on the planet was what he wished for, it had a cave that went deep into the mountain and for the most part was cooler than the current temperature. He walked over to the mountain, leaping between magma streams in the black rocks and reached the cave. He didn''t want shelter entirely to get away from the heat, in fact while he was searching for the cave he came across something interesting about the world, it had a certain particle in it that could take form if a human expended their inner energy to control it, for example if a human could use their body heat to control them they would still be using these particles but heating them up in the process. By now Zariel had scaled the mountain and reached the cave, it was already getting dark, the time zone in this world was about 16 hours in a day, it was much shorter than Zariel was used to but he was still safe from harm now, even though he couldn''t die he could still feel pain and tried to avoid as much as possible. The cave was dark, dark enough for him not to be able to see his own hand, he had grabbed a few rocks on the way luckily with hopes of starting a fire, it reminded him of when he first found fire, it was a revelation to his tribe and they had a party that went deep into the night he remembered how they danced and how carefree they were. Zariel sighed at the memories knowing they were just that and he knew he could never have that again. He struck the rocks and finally a spark came out, he now noticed he had no kindling and no trees had grown on this world yet and therefore no sticks or leaves, he sighed and gave up on the dream of light, he decided to leave everything till tomorrow and just sleep in the dark tonight. As he lied down he sighed again, he knew he would wake up with a wrinkly suit. Reason #002 Zariel woke up to an, as expected, wrinkled suit. He hated it but kept it on, he still needed the warmth that clothes provided, no matter how wrinkled they looked he had to keep it on. He got up from the rocky ground and moved towards the front of the cave, he stretched as he looked at the burning scenery. He sat down cross legged looking at the view he closed his eyes and felt all the particles surrounding him, first he used his body heat energy to move the particles, a flame was created in front of him that burned fiercely. Zariel kept it burning for almost an hour until he realised his body was as cold as ice, the flame extinguished as soon as he broke his concentration. After almost a day of trying with the fire he got the hang of it, he was almost able to do it by only thinking about it for a second, fast learning was also a perk of the immortality fiasco. He slept again and got back to practising, he now tried with the feeling of the flowing of his blood, he couldn''t literally summon his blood but he felt like he could summon something else, as Zariel thought about the feeling of flowing a small amount of water started to hover in front of him, he didn''t notice as his eyes were closed but after a couple of hours he had finally opened them to see the small ball of water that had formed before, except now it was much larger. Zariel became excited at the possibilities of what he could do, instead of think of things as particles and atoms he now thought of certain elements and what they felt like, he placed both palms on the earth and closed his eyes again, he felt a thrumming of the rock beneath him and suddenly a massive pillar of the earth erupted in front of Zariel. He tried to picture other elements too, using the earth he tried to grown a tree but nothing happened, he decided to research that after his experimenting after all he had millions, maybe even billions of years to try all this out. After almost 20 weeks of trying to focus and control the elements to perfection Zariel had almost reached the peak, he decided to take a break from all the practical work and focus on the theory. He tried investigating why he couldn''t summon trees and grass and plants, he had little progress in that regard so he concentrated on seeing whether he could control more than just the 4 basic elements, what he found out was he could control metals, which he found out when sensing the earth and finding some odd grey metal and found out he could control it because it felt almost the same as earth, there was also a way for him to control the vapour and steam that was created when the water he made fell onto the magma, and he also could control the light. He accidently found this out when it was night in his cave and he was thinking of the sun, like how warm it felt on his skin and how you could see it streaming through the window and could see the dust when a ball of light appeared in front of him. Zariel had now been on this planet and studying it and it''s magic for a year in earth time now, Zariel also noticed that the days were getting longer, a full day was about 18 hours instead of 16, his scientific part of the brain refused to believe it was possible so he just pegged it down as either the magic or the goddess to shut it up. He continued studying the particle or as he now just called magic like in that book he once read, Zariel was never a fan of fiction, he preferred textbooks and doctors and scientists journals than a silly story about some prince or hero of to save the world. Once he was forced to read a book by one of his fondest friends, he had hated it but always remembered it. He used the name ''magic'' as it explained more than science could in this situation, after all, even when he was a scientist science couldn''t solve his immortality conundrum. He had started to wonder now why he had wanted to die so badly until he dreamt at night and remembered. He dreamt of his wives, they were all beautiful to him and he had loved each one and a little piece of him died each time he had to leave before they realised he wasn''t aging like him, a couple of times he had told his wives. One called him crazy and left him, the rest believed him and his heart still broke each time when he saw then on their deathbed while he still looked healthy and 20. He always hated it when he dreamt of memories, sometimes life would grant him a release and just give him some random dream of a donkey riding a pilgrim, he always laughed when he remembered that dream. After now 12 000 years of research the days were now 24 hours and he had mastered light and fire magic, without even looking he could summon a fire tornado onto the barren lands and create a glowing orb the size of a football stadium. The amount of energy it took for him to do this was about the amount of energy a banana gave you. He was noticing the energy in his body was starting to distance itself from his physical presence, the movement was so little it was barely noticeable but he was certain after 12 000 years that his energy was becoming more ethereal. As for food he didn''t need it, it seems immortality also kept him with a large amount of energy at all times and he never felt hungry. Finally at the end of the 12 000 year he sighed, he still looked exactly 20, his brown hair seemed to be turning black for an unknown reason and the roots were the only thing still remaining of his natural brown colour but he knew it was only a matter of time but his eyes remained blue, the only weird thing was they were becoming an almost neon or fluorescent colour of blue, other than that his face remained the same except for the long beard he had grown out by now, he was trying to find a magic that could cut it but for now he tried to ignore the itchiness it gave him and how he constantly tripped over it. His suit was completely ruined, it had tears, burn marks and stains that were unexplainable so he now just wore the pants and the vest, luckily his overcoat wasn''t in too bad of a condition. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. He looked out to the world that seemed to glow with the magma and fire and sighed, he didn''t know how long this planet would take to evolve enough for humans and other species to come into being or evolve, with magic in the air he wasn''t sure if it would speed up the process or slow it down and Zariel hated mysteries. That part of his personality was why he pursued science in almost all of his lives, more than once he was a detective, even went by the name ''Sherlock Holmes'' once, but he made sure people thought he was a story, reputation led to publicity and publicity meant investigation into their history and that was dangerous for someone with his... history. The magma pool that was a few miles ahead of Zariel started to bubble wildly, 5 small figures leapt out of the magma in an explosion, they figures weren''t human though, they were actually more like a lizard, if lizards were the size of human babies. Using his slightly less advanced air magic he sprinted to the pool or magma, what should''ve taken almost half an hour on foot only took him about five minutes on magic, as he approached the figures he noticed they looked like smaller versions of the dragons he had seen in pictures books at his book stores, but they looked much meaner than a children''s drawing, they had sharp spines running down their backs, horns on their head, glistening scales and slitted pupils but the relation between them ended there. One of them had dark blue scales and what looked like fins on the side of its head, it had only two legs and looked more like the Eastern depiction of a dragon as its body was long and the short legs were only at the front and had extremely sharp looking claws, under its chin it''s scales morphed to a more aqua colour, it''s horns were also an aqua colour and looked more like they were made out of diamond, his eyes were a surprising pale pink colour. The second one had deep red scales, they were a more vermillion colour, it had spikes that were an amber colour, they only odd thing about this dragon was it was on fire, it''s spikes were on fire and the trail led to the top of it''s head with even his horns being on fire making it look like a mane of flames, other than that he looked ordinary, his face looked angry, like he was going to headbutt whoever came near him, his eyes darted around and his large black eyes added a cuteness you wouldn''t expect on him. The third one looked tamer and even shy, it''s scales were like opals, white with a rainbow shimmer, and her horns were like quartz and her muzzle had a beak at the end, not a beak like birds from earth more like a hard shell with a point at the top half of her mouth, it had two holes for what looked like her nostrils on it. Her spikes looked less pointy and her eyes were wide and a deep blue, almost like it''s two-legged brothers scales and her tail was longer than her body with the spines still running down it like the others. The oddest thing was she had a few feathers in a mohawk pattern on her head, they were pure white and small but they did add a bird-like factor to her. The fourth one seemed very sleepy but it had not given into the sweet release of sleep yet, it had it''s eyes half closed but it''s grey eyes were still quite visible, his scales looked hardened and stronger than the rest, he was bulky even though he was a baby. His spines were tall and thick, they had smaller layers on either side of them and looked like stone, they reminded Zariel of the stegosaurus spines he saw on Earth, his scales on his back all had a layer of moss and even some sticks and twigs were growing out of the gaps, his horns were branches off a tree and had a few leaves on them. His tail unlike the others had a thick spiky chunk of wood at the end that looked like a mace, Zariel knew this one was the fighter of the family. He finally looked at the fifth one which was the coolest looking of them all, it had deep black scales but it''s belly and the lower half of its jaw and chin was a golden colour, his eyes and horns were a glowing purple colour and he looked like the most calm and composed out of them all, his spike on his back were completely see through like glass and looked even sharper than the others spikes, his claws were red and menacing, they looked as sharp as his spikes. They all stared at him as he stared at them, a clear distrust was in their eyes but he ignored it, to be honest they all just looked incredibly cute to him with their wide eyes and childish looks. He tried communicating... "Hello? My name is Zariel and if you don''t understand this I''m going to look like an idiot so please respond" They remained silent but the distrust seemed to fade a bit as they noticed the kindness in his tone. Zariel realised that they seemed to be more intelligent than an average beast, he wondered if he could teach them to speak or do magic. He scooped them up and raced back, they struggled he ran but as he put them down the seemed to take a liking to the cave, Zariel smiled as he saw the cute monsters pace around the cave and sniffing it, they were repulsed by the smell of his clothes but they seemed content with the cave. Zariel one again smiled, maybe this job won''t be so lonely.
Hiya! It''s me!, hope you like the chapter, I don''t really think of myself as a good writer but I am just really obsessed with fantasy and to have the opportunity to write it down is nice so, thanks for reading. Also I did not proof-read this so tell me if there is a mistake. Reason #003 A week has gone by since Zariel found the baby dragons, he had finally come up with names for them, the blue one is called Nerreth, the red one is called Medreth, the white one is called Lyth, the rock one is called Vanlith and the black one is called Taevarth. They all ended in a ''th'' sound so it was easier for him to remember and as far as he could tell Narreth and Lyth were the only females. After a week of trying to communicate with the baby dragons Zariel had noticed they didn''t respond because they didn''t have normal vocal cords which he had hope they would have, so Zariel tried using other methods and after the week of effort and magic he finally figured out a way to communicate with them, he made the magic particles vibrate at the right times to sound like words and it went right into their heads, but finding a way to let them talk back was only the easy part, so far they had picked up on the language Zariel spoke. He had invented it when he was bored about 3000 years ago and got into the habit of using it instead of English, it was a mix of all the languages he had ever learnt, the dominant language was Latin. Every day Zariel held 3 classes of Maths, Science and his new language As he taught them they language he slowly figured out their personalities, he assumed right when he thought that they were more than just beasts, Vanlith was always sleepy and relaxed and he was good at Earth and Metal magic, Nerroth was a fast thinker and she was a classic day dreamer, she specialised in Water and Ice magic. Lyth was shy and quiet but very intelligent, she excelled at Air and Fumemagic which was controlling gases and vapours, Zariel speculated she might be able to control poisonous gases too, Medreth was a temperamental guy who got angry at even the slightest provocation, hewas superior inFire magic and had even found out on his own he could control Magma. Next was Taevarth, he could control Light and a new one even Zariel didn''t know existed which is Darkness, hewasn''t very interested in magic like his siblings, when Zariel taught them basic maths and science Taevarth always asked deep questions, after a while Zariel started taking himfor private lessons and taught him high-school level maths and sometimes challenged him with university level, Taevarth learnt quickly and excelled at it. Zariel plummeted down onto his rock bed, hewas quite tired today, when he taught the sibling there was always at least 2 fights but today Medreth was extra temperamental and got mad at Taevarth for answering a question ahead of him, breaking up baby dragons who were rather adept at powerful magic was not easy so he made a stick out of the weird metal he had found, it turned out to be harder than a diamond and he hit them on the head if they were naughty. He thought hehit them rather lightly but they seemed scared and instantly stopped fighting whenever he brought it out, "They might have gotten a childhood trauma from it" Zariel mused to himself, their scales were probably just as hard as diamonds butthe stick still hurt them. "Zariel!" He heard a voice call his name, it sounded like Lyth. He raced over to where they were which was out in the plains outside the cave, he made sure they stayed within a certain perimeter so they didn''t get out of sight but as he ran to the source of the voice he was already far out of the perimeter. "Zariel! Come quickly!" He started to ran at his fastest paceand reached where Lyth and the others were, it was another cave in the mountain that was almost 20 kilometers from them, and in it was a floating grey sphere, it gave off no light but yet it glowed, Nerreth had her back to them and was staring at the glowing orb, Zariel walked over to her and was shocked. Her eyes were completely glazed over and looking into nothingness. "Zariel, she has been like this for an hour, please help her!" Lyth was panicking while Vanlith, Medreth and Taevarth were looking guilty and afraid. "What happened?" The boys flinched as they heard the sternness in Zariels voice, he had noticed their looks of guilt. "W-we walked out of the perimeter and we th-thought that we saw something run into the cave here, so we ran to catch it and we found the glowing orb thing here, it didn''t do anything for an hour so we dared Nerreth to touch it an-and when she did she just froze" Vanlith explained while stuttering, the others nodded their heads trying to get their honesty to relieve them from the punishment that was likely to come He could tell they were leaving something out of their story but didn''t dig any deeper yet, his main concern was fixing Nerreth. She was still frozen and staring at the orb, Lyth wason the verge of tears and they boys were looking somehowguiltier which Zariel didn''t think was possible at this point, because they all looked so pitiful he sighed and gave them a smile. "Don''t worry, I''ll fix her! I just need to find out what that thing is" Zariel was confused about the glowing orb just as much as they were, in the boys story they saw something running into the cave but they should really be the only things alive on this planet. At first Zariel tried what he always tried when meeting new things that might or have sentience. "Hello, my name is Zariel and i was wondering whether you could stop whatever you are doing to Nerreth" After a few seconds of silence it suddenly spoke to everyone''s surprise "I Am Hungry" It said in a monotonous tone "Are you planning on eating her?" Zariel said, concern was evident in his voice "I Am Thirsty" It once again responded "What are your intentions with the child?" Zariel had grown fond of the dragons over the past year, he had broken his rule of not caring but he thought of them as his own children now, he was prepared to fight this thing. "I Am Alone" It''s tone was now less monotonous, it sounded like it might cry. Even Lyth felt she wanted to just hug it but after what she saw happen to Nerreth she chose the better alternative of staying put. "How are you alone? Who are you?" Zariel felt he was progressing with it, maybe if he could help it would release Nerreth. "I Am The Last Of My Kind, I Am Ragnarok, My Planet Is Gone, I Am Alone" Zariel almost laughed, he felt guiltybut when it mentioned its kind he thought of a planet with floating balls everywhere and they had hats on, he didn''t knowwhether the hat thing came from but it was still funny to him. And who wouldn''t laugh at hats on balls? He pushed down the laughter and inquired further while it seemed to answer his questions willingly "What are you doing to Nerreth?" "I Am Speaking, I Am Befriending" He was concerned on what that meant to a seemingly alien being but he relaxed slightly. The very next second Nerreth seemed to come out of her trance and yelled out "Don''t Hurt him!" Everyone was surprised at her sudden outburst, who knows how the orb felt, it didn''t really have a face. Zariel rushed up to Nerreth and checked to see if she was okay, her long body was curled around the orb now and she looked like she was using her body to protect it and maybe even hug it. She was fine but she was acting extremely protective of it. "I won''t hurt it but are you okay? Did it do anything to you?" "No! Hejust wanted to talk! He''s lonely, his planet Tereq was destroyed by an opposing alien race and he was the only one that could run away in time, he was a warrior there." "How do you know so much Nerreth?" Lyth chimed in, she was glad her sister was okay and felt awkward that there was nothing she could do right now. "We talked in our heads, like what Zariel showed us except he could make it so no one could hear us, he also learnt out language from me, I learnt about him and I told him about us, but Zariel he''s so kind and he is just alone can we keep him? pretty please?" Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Zariel smiled, he was just happy that Nerreth was back and being on a developing planet can get pretty boring so the more the merrier. "Of course we can keep him but I think he''s a person not a pet Nerreth" Nerreth smiled, of course she just seemed like she was smiling but dragonfaces always have a wide mouth, as they walked out of the cave Ragnarok just kept hovering and moving, Nerreth was still wrapped around him and she basically had a free ride, Zariel had a feeling that she was going to use him as transport from now on. The next day he woke up to the usual scene of 5 dragons laying around him like dogs, they were actually the size of large dogs already and had similar characteristics when behaving, they wagged their tail when happy and were constantly begging to be patted, he smiled fondly at their sleeping figures and looked around the cave, it was a complete mess with pebbles and rock shards everywhere and his makeshift workbench and lab where he passed his time, on tophis workbench today however was Ragnarok, they all decided to call him Rag for short, Nerreth sometimes called him Raggy as they seemed better acquaintedanybody else, he looked powered down like a machine right now with his glow turned off and he was no longer hovering. He got up asthe dragons stirred, his bed was enlarged to be even bigger than a king size, in fact it was probably two king sizes put together that''s how wide it was, he had remodeled the cave so it had rooms for each of the dragons but they didn''t use them much to his dismay. He was still more advanced and had a higher energy capacity than them so he always did all the work even when they could easily contribute, he thought about when they were older they won''t want to cuddle with him later. As he started to sink into a hole of depressionthat most parents fall intowhen their children are infants and they think about the future he was awoken out of his delusions of the children not talking or snugglinghim anymore by Ragnarok powering up, he started glowing again and rose off the table, he looked around and saw that everyone except Zariel was asleep still. Outside the cave they could see the blue sun rising, a white planet with orange rings could be seen in the distant space. Surprisingly Ragnarok was the first to speak. "Who Are You?" He inquired, Zariel wondered why Rag asked this because he should already know. "I am Zariel, I raise these children and educate them, you should know that from Nerreth when yo-" "Do Not Play Games, You Are Not From This Planet And You Are Older Than Me,I Have Lived For A Long Time But You Are The First I Have Met Who Outdates Me By The Millions" Rag interjected Zariel frowned, he wondered how Rag had figured that out. "I am Zariel and that is all you need to know, what I need to know ishow do you know I am not from here?" Rag paused, like he was pondering and then suddenly his spherical form started to warp, he slowly morphed into amalehuman shape, he nowlooked like a man in his late 40''s with grey hair, a grey beard that was trimmed and grey eyes, he had black clothes on that looked like a ninja suit butarmoured plates were visible underneath it, he also had a black cloak wrapped around him. He truly did look like a warrior with thescars on his face and hands, they were the only skin visible but Zariel knew that there was more scars underneath his clothes. Rag now just looked like a really mean uncle or grandfather as his scars added age to him. "I Have Chips Implanted Into Me, They Allow Me To Compress My Body Into An Orb And See The Profile Of Someone, They Have Other Purposes But They Are Not Necessary To Explain Right Now" "How do you see my profile? We have never met before so you shouldn''t have any data on me" "It Analyses Your Body And Predicts Your Stats. If A Man Has Hardened Skin On His Hand And Calluses Then The System Will Predict Whether It Is From Swinging An Axe Or Sword, I Can Tell That Those Children Are A Year Old And Were Born From This Planet" "Don''t you mean ''on'' instead of ''from''?" Zariel enquired, he had always thought that perhaps the goddess had sent the eggs to the lava pits for them to hatch, warmtemperatures was the proper climate for reptile eggs and he could only imagine what temperature a dragon egg would need. "The Planet Seems To Have A Consciousness, It Is Faint And Based Off Basic InstinctBut It Is There, It Has Set Tasks To Do And Creating Those Dragonlings Was The First" Zariel processed this new information, he wondered if this meant he could talk to the planet... "What about me then, what does it say for me?" "Age: 6 405912000 Name: Unavailable BirthPlace: Earth I Repeat My Question Earlier ''Zariel'', Who Are You?" "It''s a long story, and I will tell you when I finally trust you but for now I will tell you this, I am the man that will destroy you if you dare harm the children and since you are stuck with us for about a couple million or billion years I expect you to contribute, ok? And stop talking so weirdly" "Do You mean For Me to Talk Like this?" Rag''s voice was now less monotonous but still sounded disjointed but the more he talked the more normal he sounded "Close enough, I have to ask and I know that it is unlikely but, can you make clothes?" He looked down and the clothes he had now, they were torn and ruined and rotting, that''s what 12 000 years can do to it but he never had any resources to fix it or make new ones. He also had been growing a beard but learnt to cut it with rocks he made that were sharper than a sword. "I Have a Chip That Allows me to Form fabrics into clothes, do you have a fabric or string?" Zariel sighed but suddenly remembered what he had discovered with Dark magic a week ago with Taevarth, he could form a string that was as strong as rope but in all his years of life he had never learnt sewing or weaving thus making it unuseable to him but now was the perfect opportunity. "I do!" For the next four hours the two men worked on clothes for Zariel, he insisted on new suits, he made Ragnarok work like a slave, mass producing suits custom made for Zariel. Unknown to them they bonded over those four hours, Zariel trusted Ragnarok more and visa versa. And then the dragons woke up to see Zariel in his new suits and clean shaven face, their shock was extremely amusing to him, but they broke out of their shock because almost as if one cue their whole cave system started to collapse, and all they can do is dodge as the rocks started to fall from the ceiling. "Get outside" cried Zariel, and they ran.
HAHAHA, Have fun with that cliffhanger, also I just found a paralysis tick on my cat, but don''t worry I acted like a responsible adult! And cried and called my parents to help, in hindsight I should have called a vet first but it is okay because she is all better now! And after that shock I brought her a special gift to cheer her up which was SNUGGLES. My dogs got very jealous. Ps: Yes I am a lonely animal person, I have 2 adorable dogs and an adorable cat, if you have a cute pet talk about them in the comments and I''ll tell you in every possible way that mine are cuter! Reason #004 Back with another chapter, I don''t really have a schedule for this novel and I plan just to write a new chapter when I feel like it because if I set myself to a task I usually disappoint myself. I also just woke up and it''s 1pm and I fell asleep at 10pm which means I have a horrible sleep schedule too, ain''t I great!? Because my parents don''t think so... And on that happy note Enjoy!
Finally after almost 5 hours of dodging, smashing and deflecting fallen rocks Zariel, Rag and the dragons lay on the cave floor panting. Slowly Raganrok got up and started pacing the cave, wincing at every step but continuing.
Rag turned to Zariel with a rare panicked face "Remember when I told you this world has set instructions to it? And how the first was to create and birth these dragonlings?" Zariel had a bad feeling "Yes... what of it?" "Well it seems that it is now carrying out it''s next instruction, which is splitting its crust" Vareth and Medreth giggled, the adults turned to them with a curious gaze and the two stopped "Sorry... it just sounds funny" said Medreth, Rag was unimpressed but Zariel was glad they could still laugh at a time like this, he turned back to Ragnarok who had already looked away from the giggling couple "So it''s creating the continents and islands?" Rag narrowed his eyebrows "Indeed, we might be stuck with this for a while..." Zariel had a profound knowledge of the planet from his wish and was still a little annoyed that Ragnarok could tell the planet had a conciousness and he couldn''t. "So do those fancy gadgets of yours tell you how long this will go for excactly?" Zariel said in a miffed voice, on Earth the continents were already split up although not entirely but from his knowledge this planet was completely covered in lava and rock, underneath it was water stores which Zariel assumed would flow out when the rock breaks apart. "I don''t have an exact number, but I think this will go on for a while, do you have any idea Zariel?" Rag said in an equaly miffed tone, unaware of Zariel''s experience with geology and history.
At the very moment that Zariel though this a large piece of rock dislodged itself from the ceiling of the cave and hit his head, bringing his body down and crushing it completely. The dragons screamed his name and all he saw or heard was nothingness. When he regained conciousness he was in a familiar blackness, but this time he atually had his body with his nice suit that Ragnarok had weaved. A familiar voice spoke to him. "Oi, you going to start paying attention to the divine mistress or just keep inspecting that pathetic excuse for a suit" Unfortunatley this familar voice was not a wanted one, it seemed monocle man had dropped the nice-salesman act and had reverted to his my-mistress-is-the-greatest-and-I-am-the-most-loyal-so-you-are-below-me persona. Zariel was unsure whether monocle man was human or not but monocle man''s manners were certainly monsterous. "Now now, be polite Yuven he is an important guest" said the harmonic voice that came from the darkness around him, monocle man whose name was now known was floating in the perpetual darkness like Zariel was but seemed more used to it. "Welcome Zariel, I summoned your conciousness here while your body heals, I am here for an update" "I can''t exactly do my job without any humans here" "I am aware and every thing is going as planned but the update I meant was how you are going" "I am fine... but my hair has turned black and my eyes seem to glow plus my pupils have become slits..." "Ah, that''s just a gift I added, your eyes should now see farther now yes?" "Well yeah but... why is my hair black? and why make my pupils slits" "Well I am a woman and do have a sense of fashion and neon blue eyes and brown hair do not mix and your pupils are just a side effect" "So... I''m a dress up doll now? Excellent..." "No no, don''t worry I won''t interfere anymore I just thought it would be useful for the coming days, it''s not the greatest gift but you can see better than any bird from your planet or about 18 million others but no thanks needed" Timera seemed almost annoyed and Zariel could see Yuven silently fuming in a corner.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. "Sorry, thank you very much benevolent goddess, what else did you want to ask?" "Ah yes that... there is an issue on that planet" "And what is it? Are you talking about Ragnarok because he certainly i-" "Not the alien, he was unprecendented but I do not mind him as he doesn''t affect my plans, what the problem is, is something that is yet to come" Timera''s words annoyed Zariel but he accepted them. Her words did strike a spark of curiosity in him though. "So it''s something in the future?"
"I see then... once again thank you" Reason #005 A billion years isn¡¯t that long if you are with people that you care about, I know this because I just spent a billion years touring a planet with the dragons and Ragnarok. Eventually their relationship got better, the dragons started looking at them like parental figures, somehow Zariel had ended up being the mother but he didn¡¯t mind. He kept teaching the dragons about maths and science, they all had an advanced understanding of it all after a billion years but they all decided to stop after learning to that level except Taevarth who had decided to study on his own. Ragnarok taught them more physical stuff, he basically put them through army training but much harsher, Taevarth hated it more than anything. All this time though, Rag never could grasp the concept of magic which frustrated him to no end especially when Zariel showed off with fancy magic shows. And that brings us to how Zariel had improved, his magic had surpassed Master level and even Grandmaster level and had reached Primal level which in most worlds is only a level Old Gods can get to, Zariel had even discovered new forms of magic along with the dragons and could feel the presence of magic in the air. Of course Zariel hadn¡¯t become a god but you couldn''t judge him by a system due to his rapid development. The dragons were equal to a low-level god and Ragnarok.. well who knew what system could judge his strength which didn¡¯t rely on mana but pure body functions. By now all the dragons had reached the sizes of very large horses, even saying that was a bit of an understatement but too much of an overstatement to say they were the size of a house. They had each gotten more mature, Lyth was less shy around them and Nerreth with her oriental dragon body had become longer and larger, she was disappointed she could no longer curl around Raggy when he was in sphere form. Medreth looked much meaner. Somehow, he had gotten a permanent frown on his face even though he had a reptilian build and wasn¡¯t that grumpy of a person to get it, but he looked much more dangerous with his body becoming more lean thanks to Ragnarok¡¯s training which Medreth was more dedicated to than the rest. Varenth had a mini forest growing on his back now, Zariel thought about how pretty it would be if Varenth became massive and had a real-life sized forest on his back with wildlife and birds. Taevarth was slightly smaller than the rest and had dedicated himself to helping Zariel create an alphabet for their language, he was a complete bookworm still, after their alphabet was finished Taevarth said he would write books like the ones Zariel had told him about. If you line the dragons up they would look incredibly intimidating considering their size and¡ well everything. But if people knew their personalities they probably wouldn¡¯t freak out like the primitive species wandering the earth had when they see they dragons flying overhead, yes flying! The dragon¡¯s wings had all grown, except Nerreth who had remained wingless but through her magic she had found a way to condense a pillow of water to take her anywhere she wanted. That leads us to the present, where right now the group of seven are watching the tree¡¯s sway in the wind and the primitive lifeforms wander, there were beasts of many kinds. Even primitive humanoid species were living in caves and hunting, not taking any notice of them through one of Zariel¡¯s newfound magics he called Mind magic because it directly affected mind None of the dragons could completely grasp this method, even Taevarth struggled. Mind magic relied upon knowledge of the mind and through Zariel¡¯s 4 degrees in psychology and experience in being a brain surgeon he had no problem grasping it. ¡°Zar, what are we going to do now? It¡¯s been a long time since we started exploring¡± Said Lyth, her pearl white scales glittering in the sun while she moved towards him. They were sitting on a very luscious green him shaded by one of the first trees to grow in the world. ¡°I don¡¯t know, we do have some uncompleted things to do like you guys need to finish Ragnorok¡¯s training-¡± Zariel heard Taevarth groan in the background ¡°-And I need to implement myself into the humanoid communities to find a way to teach them magic¡± ¡°But why, they are all such weak races and nowhere near as strong as us, shouldn¡¯t they just die out?¡± Chimed in Medreth, as helpful as always with his pessimistic and ruthless opinions. "You will never find a girl with that attitude Smokey¡± Nerreth yelled out to him, she even woke from her nap just to say that. Zariel was impressed. ¡°And you¡¯ll never catch a guy with your frigging laziness Bubbles¡± Retorted Medreth, Zariel sighed, regretting ever teaching them any languages. He also wondered what they were talking about when they said ¡®catch a guy¡¯ or ¡®find a girl¡¯, as far as he knew they were no other dragons on this planet and they were all siblings¡ ¡°Ah, remember Raggy when they were just tiny little dragonlings with wide eyes and cute faces, such innocence¡± Said Zariel leaning back on hands on the hill with his legs splayed out in front of him. He addressed Ragnarok with a happy manner, he had lost all resentment towards him after the first 500 years of wandering this planet. A billion years was too long to resent and not trust someone. ¡°Ho ho, yes I do, it makes beating my training into them so much more pleasing when you compare them from then and now¡± Said Raggy, with a glint of sadistic joy in his eye and his arms crossed over his chest, he was standing up and watching the tribesmen work. Zariel had lent him the stick he used when educating them and they were unruly, he still hadn¡¯t found any other metal like it and nothing harder than it except the dragon¡¯s scales. The only ones not pleased by Zariel handing over the stick was the dragons.Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°What fun days they were, I remember they all used to snuggle up on my bed even after I had put in the effort to make them their own room¡± ¡°Oi, don¡¯t talk like we aren¡¯t here, also we were young then that¡¯s embarrassing¡¡± Said Medreth ¡°Exactly Zariel even I¡¯m blushing, also quite down a bit the tribe is getting suspicious¡± Said Varenth was participating in the conversation for the first time. Zariel sighed wondering what happened to those cute children, what Varenth was talking about before was the fact that although Zariel¡¯s magic hid them from sight he could not halt the could waves they generated. At least not yet, he was close to finding a way but honestly the waves were fast and hard to catch and stop. The tribe that was nearby the hill they were sitting at was an odd one, they all had skin like lizards with varying colours and scale patterns but they were human in shape with 2 legs they stood on and 2 arms they used for manual labour. It was mesmerizing just looking at them with all their scale colours and patterns which is why they were the groups favourite race because they looked like a cross between a human and a dragon. There were other races too like the demonic race that were human except for their odd rich brown skin and weird hair colours plus the horns that grew out of their foreheads, they had absurd strength too. Ragnarok favoured this race the most because of their fighting spirit. And beastman race which contained very human like figures with feathered and furry animal traits like cat and dog tails, dog snouts, bird wings or beaks or fur and maybe even feathers covering their whole bodies. It wasn¡¯t just cat and dog traits that they had, there were foxes and wolves, oxen, and tigers, all derived from animals that Zariel thought were just on Earth but seemed to populated this world too, obviously not every species from Earth was on this planet but the basic ones were. But it seems this planet has done something to the animals, they soaked up the mana in the air and gained variant or elemental forms. Like foxes fur turning white and lightly being able to manipulate the wind, he once saw a tiger sleeping and it¡¯s fur turned green and when it woke up it could control the grass it lay upon. Zariel decided to call the infected, mana beasts. Then there were the humans and their 2 variants. The humans were exactly like what Zariel had in his previous world but there was a variant he named the elves from the fantasy book he read and he named them this because they fit the description. The elves did differ a bit from normal stories, their skin was tinted green but everything was the same, long pointed ears with lean bodies designed for stealth. In fact, whenever the elves hunted for food they stalked their prey and waited until the right moment unlike the humans who used sheer numbers to overpower prey. The 2rd human species variant was the dwarves, a very short species who focused on muscles and strength or character, the dwarves had tinted red skin which made them look permanently furious. They were, unsurprisingly, the first to figure out how to make weapons but didn¡¯t tell the other tribes, it seems they were petty and secretive by nature. They were also on a completely different continent than the other races, in fact all of the races were on different contients from each other. ¡°What we have found out is that the planet had split into six continents, I say that after I have finished my job of informing the species about magic is we split up and choose a continent to look over and take care of so we can all have some space, and Nerreth shall have the ocean¡± Said Zariel after a long silence, they were all doubting him but nodded at the idea that Nerreth would take the ocean, she was the only one who could breathe underwater except for Zariel and Raggy. Technically Zariel didn''t need to breathe and Raggy never gave a specific reason why he could breathe underwater but Zariel just assumed that he probably had some chip implant. ¡°Hmmm, I agree a billion years is too long to be together without a break. Remember how many fights we have had recently?¡± Said Raggy, always the voice of reason. ¡°I agree too, I need some space and silence to finish my books¡± Said Taevarth ¡°I agree, I want some peace and quiet to sleep¡± Said Varenth with an odd determination, Zariel sighed. It was completely against the point to sleep the whole time away. ¡°I want a break from all this too, you all annoy me... at times¡± Said Medreth in his normal pissed off voice, Zariel was glad for the added ¡®at times¡¯. Believe it or not it was progress. ¡°I dunno what I would do if I was separated from you all but I would like some time alone¡± Said Lyth in a soft voice ¡°I just wanna curl up and just sleep, preferably in water so I think it¡¯s a great idea¡± Said Nerreth. ¡°I call dibs on the demon continent, I wanna teach them martial arts they seem like good and enthusiastic pupils unlike a certain someone¡± Ragnarok¡¯s eye¡¯s drifted over to Taevarth who was sleeping in the shade of the old tree. ¡°So it¡¯s agreed? As soon as you finish Raganrok¡¯s training and I complete my task?¡± Asked Zariel, his tone sounded almost relieved. He wasn¡¯t exactly looking forward to separating from the children he had raised and one of the only friends he¡¯d ever had but he thought they would put up a fight. Then he wondered¡ why didn¡¯t they put up a fight? ¡°Hey¡¡± Started Zariel, they all stiffened, ¡°What did you guys do?¡± He asked, they all looked around about to flee when Lyth spoke up. ¡°We¡¯re so sorry! We¡ burnt all suits, accidently, but you have to believe it was a complete accident!¡± cried out Lyth. ¡°Yeah! It was Medreth who lost control of his flames!¡± That was when Zariel stiffened, he didn¡¯t like the sound of that, he turned to Medreth with his eye twitching. ¡°Oi Medreth, you want to explain yourself?¡± ¡°Hey teacher it was an accident all right? I was just doing a small competition with Varenth-¡° ¡°HEY! Don¡¯t drag me into this it wasn¡¯t my fault!¡± Medreth and Zariel ignored the panicked Varenth. ¡°And my flames went a bit out of control¡± Said Medreth, Zariel frowned. He had thought himself lucky that maybe the vision Timera had seen hadn¡¯t some true but Medreth¡¯s magic going out of control was a warning. ¡°Maybe you just need some re-education, Raggy you still have The Stick?¡± Said Zariel, still furious his beautiful suits he had made Rag slave away to make were burnt to ashes and his students were about to flee before they even told him about it. ¡°Yes, so you aren¡¯t going to punish me?¡± Said Ragnarok, handing Zariel The Stick. ¡°Why? Did you have something to do with it?¡± He pointed the stick at Ragnarok. ¡°HE DID¡± Shouted Taevarth from across the hill, obviously very amused his siblings were about to get punished for their idiotic actions. ¡°How so Tae?¡± Said Zariel affectionately, knowing Taeravth would never participate in these kinds of things ¡°HE WAS THE ONE WHO TOLD VARENTH AND MEDRETH TO FIGHT AND MADE BETS WITH LYTH AND NERRETH¡± Zariel turned to them all and used earth magic to trap them in a shell of hardened mud.. ¡°Sounds like you all need some re-education¡± A pissed off smile was creeping onto Zariel''s lips. ¡°W-wait Z-Zariel I c-can explain¡± Said Ragnarok, he dreaded The Stick even more than the dragons for he did not have their hard scales. ¡°No need¡± Said Zariel lightly, he had become so calm it was scarier than when he was furious. The next out was filled with the shrill screams of those 6, some lizardmen villagers aware very confused by the screaming coming from an invisible source but just shrugged it off, they were not a very smart species. Reason #006 After hours of beating Zariel finally stopped, each dragon had welts on their heads and Ragnarok¡ well let¡¯s not even mention his condition. ¡°All right so it¡¯s agreed we go our separate ways?¡± Said Zariel in a calm tone, he had vented most of his anger. ¡°My head hurts, I need healing magic!¡± Cried Lyth, healing magic was also a new form that Zariel had uncovered and Lyth was the only one able to use it. ¡°Same! How can you be so mean Zariel I thought you were the peaceful mother of the family¡± Said Ragnarok. ¡°You obviously don¡¯t know enough about mothers, and for the millionth time why am I the woman!¡± Retorted Zariel, clearly still upset he was designated the role of mother. ¡°Because you cook and clean and are kinder than Raggy, you take care of our wounds and when we are exhausted from training you look after us and cook us food, you clean up after us and scold Raggy when he is too mean, do you want me to continue?¡± Said Nerreth in a patronising manner. ¡°Ah no¡¡± Sighed Zariel resigned to his fate. ¡°Wait why has this become about your ¡®terrible¡¯ problem we are the ones in pain here! Lyth please use healing magic on us too!¡± Said Medreth after just regaining consciousness and saw a familiar white glow surrounding her welt that showed she was using magic. ¡°Nope! You guys deserve your punishment, I¡¯ll only heal Nerreth and maybe Raggy¡± replied Lyth obviously pissed she was punished ¡°I only bet 4 rabbits on Medreth jeez¡¡± she muttered in a quiet voice hoping Zariel wouldn¡¯t hear her. ¡°Ok, quiet I have to concentrate on a form to blend in, I¡¯m going to the draconian tribe first¡± As Zariel said this his body had already started to shimmer and his clothes were replaced with a tiger pelt covering the important parts and scales grew out of his pores and his face grew into a snout. He looked just like one of the tribesmen below the hill they were on. ¡°Woah, I¡¯ve never seen the illusion magic used like that before¡± muttered Taevarth, taking down notes in the earth. His memory was almost photographic so whenever he learnt something new he wrote it down to remember, in fact it had become a bad habit that annoyed Nerreth and Medreth to no end. ¡°Wait, Zariel are you just disguised or have you changed your whole form?¡± Asked Taevarth, thinking of the possibilities if Zariel had found a way to change forms. ¡°Oh yes, I was going to surprise you all but I sort of forgot, I found a variant of illusion magic that takes up a lot of mana but since that is not a problem for us it¡¯s fine, you can change form instead of just others perception of you! Isn¡¯t that great?¡± Zariel said cheerfully, oblivious to the dragons shaking in anger. ¡°So, this entire time when the life forms started evolving and we had to hide you had a way of making us able to live normally? Able to make us blend in?¡± Lyth said in a quiet but angry voice, the others nodding their head in agreement. ¡°W-well I have only just found it a couple of thousand years ago, and never found a use for it so it never really came up¡¡± ¡°So, you just forgot? This whole time? For a couple thousand years!¡± Lyth said slowly advancing, the others backed away. Although she was quiet and shy around strangers the others knew to never make Lyth angry for she was very dangerous when she got mad. ¡°You punished us for something similar so that means it is okay to punish you right?¡± continued Lyth, the dragons backed away even more. ¡°Well¡ not the same thing i-it¡¯s kind of different¡¡± Zariel held up his hands hoping she wouldn¡¯t attack. ¡°Oi Lyth, beat him up real good, the stick is right here¡± Said Raggy, finally awaking from the consciousness he had been drifting in and out of. ¡°Ah, my dear students and children are all grown up haha¡ ¡° Zariel smiled although it wasn¡¯t a full one, he looked pretty pitiable. ¡°You always taught us to be creative Zariel, perhaps we can put this stick to other uses¡± Medreth smiled, seeing any reptile smile is one of the most haunting things a man can see. After an hour of a relatively loud series of screaming and very confused nearby tribesmen Zariel lay panting on the rolling hills. ¡°You guys got violent, who taught you all that?¡± panted out Zariel ¡°¡±¡±¡±¡± Ragnarok¡±¡±¡±¡± they all replied simultaneously and with dull eyes like it brought back unpleasant memories. Zariel cast an accusing glare and smiled wryly at the mess of a body lying a few metres from them. Raggy was just faking so he wouldn¡¯t get beaten again, he shivered unconsciously¡ ¡°never again¡¡± thought Ragnarok, ¡°Never. Again¡±. Zariel got up and brushed himself off with the others giggling and joking around. ¡°Now that¡¯s over, we should get to work¡± He put on a serious face, the others also stopped whatever they were doing and turned to face him.Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. ¡°So goodbye then? It¡¯s long flight from this specific continent to any other and one of us is going to have to drop off Raggy at the Demon Continent¡± Lyth looked around as she said this, every dragon was avoiding eye contact except Nerreth who Lyth was glaring at. ¡°Really guys? I thought we were friends, siblings seriously I can¡¯t believe I would be abandoned like this after we have spent a billi-¡¡± ¡°You really don¡¯t want to carry Ragnarok do you?¡± interrupted Zariel ¡°It¡¯s just that he is really heavy and my water magic takes a lot of effort to maintain and with an extra weight¡¡± complained Nerreth ¡°Ok ok, Varenth you take Ragnarok, the dwarven continent is closer to the demon continent¡± ¡°Aw man really? He isn¡¯t going to be comfortable on my back it¡¯s literally a forest up there¡± ¡°Varenth don¡¯t argue with me, you¡¯re taking him and that is final¡± ¡°But-¡° ¡°No buts, you¡¯re going¡± Zariel gave Varenth a meaningful glare, Varenth made an annoyed sound and walked away ¡°Don¡¯t turn your back on me like that, that attitude is not acceptable in this family and you know it! I only ask for one task¡± ¡°Sure mum geez. How come Nerreth gets to skip out and I don¡¯t even get a chance to?¡± Varenth huffed. ¡°Because she has a valid excuse, now we are ending this conversation ¡°Oooh touch¨¦¡± called out Ragnarok, still lying down on his back beaten and bloody and forgetting he was supposed to play dead. ¡°Shut up Raggy, I really regret teaching you the English language¡± Zariel said in a pissed off tone. ¡°Oooh touch¨¦¡± chimed in Taevarth from the far away tree he had been sleeping next to. ¡°Ok that¡¯s it I¡¯m leaving, goodbye guys see you in a couple million years¡± Zariel walked away waving a hand behind his back at the others, they all murmured their farewells and flew off, except for Varenth who was having trouble picking up Raggy¡¯s exhausted form. Zariel walked down the hill to the tribesmen, the men were not yet back from hunting it seems as all the women and children were the only ones visible. His disguise still held as he walked through the village, Zariel got some odd looks but their intelligence wasn¡¯t large enough to question him yet. Well at least that¡¯s what he thought until a young child, probably only 9 or 10 years old ran up to him. ¡°Are you important?¡± said the child, it was an odd question with jerky pronunciation but understandable. Zariel felt something special about the child, something odd or out of place compared to the others in the tribe. ¡°Yes¡± said Zariel, part of his goal of spreading knowledge about magic was knowing the races better and he had a feeling that following this child might help him achieve that goal. The child grabbed his arm and dragged him to one of the crudely built huts, made with walls of mud, and sticks and animal skins and roofs of leaves and more animal skins that looked decayed and rotting. It smelled like a cross between a slaughter house and a gym locker room, it was unfortunate Zariel knew exactly how those places smelled. His nose caught another smell between those two horrible stenches, it was a sick person¡¯s smell, like vomit and death. ¡°Help her¡± said the child as it pointed towards the tent, his eyes pleaded with Zariel¡¯s, there was such desperation in them the boy refused to show in his face. Zariel nodded, with a grim line of determination set on his mouth. As he parted the large leaves that acted as a door he saw a young girl probably the same age as the child, perhaps they were siblings or young friends but that didn¡¯t matter as Zariel saw the girl¡¯s condition. As experienced as he was with medicine she was too far gone for him to help with normal methods. Zariel looked around the tent, there was dried meat hanging from hooks and containers made from clay he was certain contained water. The boy was standing in a corner watching him. ¡°This could be a chance to show them magic¡¡± thought Zariel, teaching the younger generations would be easier but not all of them have an affinity for magic. ¡°Watch¡± he simply said, and hovered his hand over the young girl¡¯s face, her scales were peeling off and her lips were bloodied. Although his normal medical knowledge only applied to humans and normal pets because of his 8 years as a veterinarian he could gather she was dying, that was certain. A glow started from Zariel¡¯s hand, it was a warm yellow light that had white glowing particles that moved and covered the girl¡¯s body. The boy¡¯s eyes widened in fascination, Zariel moved a finger to his lips with his other hand. The boy stayed put and watched without making a sound. The blood on the girl¡¯s lips seemed to be eaten by the particles and scales became more colourful. Her eyes fluttered opened to reveal a bright, neon irises, it was a racial trait that her the whole species had, in her case she had neon purple while the boy looking astounded in a corner had neon blue eyes like Zariel. ¡°Th-thank you¡± the boy said quietly, he walked to the girl¡¯s side wary of Zariel. ¡°You¡¯re welcome, who is she?¡± He asked, trying to maintain basic sentences. ¡°¡Friend¡± the boy looked away and although it was difficult to tell due to the scales on his face Zariel swore he could see the boy blush. ¡°Ah young love, so sweet and innocent, too bad it¡¯ll never last¡± thought Zariel seeing how the boy looked at the girl with such care and love. The girl had her eyes open but hadn¡¯t spoken yet, it wasn¡¯t a good sign if she wasn¡¯t responsive yet and Zariel didn¡¯t know the limits of healing magic, whether it was restricted to physical injuries or it could reach a high enough level to heal insanity or other mental disorders. ¡°How?¡± the boy asked, he had taken a break from checking up on the girl. ¡°Magic¡± replied Zariel, that was all that needed saying. ¡°Teach me¡± said the boy, his eyes full of curiosity. Zariel had checked the mana particles surrounding the boy before, his mana affinity in general was mediocre but Zariel didn¡¯t need a genius student he just needed a person the spread magic, a patient zero. ¡°Gladly¡± Zariel smiled, as always, his plan was working. At the time, two dragons were circling the tribes village where Zariel was. One was pitch black with a golden underbelly and the other was covered by a cloud but you could faintly see a hint of a dark blue that stood out against the azure sky. ¡°There he goes again, with that damn habit¡± said the blue one, sounding pissed off. ¡°What habit?¡± ¡°His need to teach others things, it¡¯s like an obsession to him. If someone doesn¡¯t know something he makes his job for them to know what it is, the history of it and how to say it in 8 different languages¡± ¡°I¡¯ve noticed that, it¡¯s not a bad habit¡± The blue dragon snorted. ¡°Maybe not to you, unlike us normal folks you actually want to know that stuff¡± ¡°Not everybody is perfect, you especially should know that¡± ¡°What¡¯s that supposed to mean?¡± ¡°Absolutely nothing, you¡¯re perfect just the way you are¡please don¡¯t hit me¡± The two figures started to fly off, with a lone figure watching from outside the hut it had just been in. ¡°What were those kids doing up there, they should have left for their continents¡ never mind that I should get back¡± Zariel¡¯s eyes gleamed ¡°I have a lot of work to do¡± Reason #007 It had been 10 years since I had started teaching the Draconian race magic, I had also taught them some fighting techniques but not much. Hand to hand combat and weapon wielding was more Raggy¡¯s thing. I also taught them the english language, not the one I spoke with the dragons and Raggy, call me petty but I wanted that to be a special thing for us.
Revin nodded, I knew Mari had a child on the way, Mari was the little girl I had saved and who had mated with Revin, she was apparently the gem of the village but I didn¡¯t really see her beauty in the romantic way, probably because I wasn¡¯t into lizards. ¡°Mari has come far as well; your child will certainly be gifted¡±
The rest of the dragons are having the same problem too, Varenth and Medreth have been less active in their teachings to the races they were overlooking, I had to give them a telepathic scolding before they decided to teach the races English and magic properly, I worry for the Humans and Dwarves futures. Lyth and Nerreth were doing just fine, Lyth said the beastmen weren¡¯t the brightest people but were ambitious and strong, their extra appendages and animal organs came in handy with daily life of hunting and building and working. Nerreth said there was a evolved species of fish here, they weren¡¯t quite like humans but had enough sentience to have factions and families, she said that they didn¡¯t look to be finished evolving but they were certainly far behind the other races.
Reason #008 {Extracts of the hidden journal of the Wise Black Dragon Taevarth, Dragon of the Elves, found in a cave in Mt Greer, the tallest mountain of the Elven Kingdom} Taevarth Journal Entry #1 I have started this record to keep track of the happenings while Zariel is asleep, it has been 3 hours since Zariel began his slumber, my brothers and sisters all learnt to shift form to humans, although we yet to grasp a ¡®normal¡¯ form we can enter tribes without much worry of them treating us like a threat. Taevarth Journal Entry #13 Zariel has been asleep for 6000 years now, thecivilizationsare steadily growing, the Elves I watch over and guide have become more peaceful. Zariel told me of the mistakes people on his planet made with pollution and the beauty on his earth had declined, I saw how sad he was about that so when he awakens I shall make sure he comes to my continent seeing the beauty he spoke about with such sadness. I told the Elves that preservation of the worlds nature is important to the future, they have designated themselves as the guardians of nature, they have experimented with magic and I believe they are onto something to help the plants and trees. Taevarth Journal Entry #29 Zariel had been asleep for 231 000 years now, the Elves lifespans are increasing, from the meeting I am having with the others it seems my race has the longest lifespan at 130 years, I''m sure it will keep increasing. The oldest Dwarf was 110, Draconian at 103, the Beastmen at 94, Demons at 89, Humans at 43 and the Mer-people as we have started calling the race Nerreth looks over is 23. I have gotten this information from my sibings who told me who the oldest member of their race was, I shall study further into this, I can¡¯t wait to see how old the races will be able to live until they stop evolving. Taevarth Journal Entry #47 Zariel has been asleep for roughly 40 000 years, Medreth has started to change, he''s less aggressive and more... cunning, he''s planning something I know it and the others do too, even Raggy is suspicious. I distract myself with work to forget about the fact our family is changing and Zariel is gone for now. So, I¡¯ll just continue with the updates of the humanoid species evolutions. The highest lifespan of each species had increased dramatically, the Elves can live up to 300 years now, the Demons at 260, the Mer-people who were the biggest increase were up to 220 the Dwarves at 180, Draconians at 150, Beastmen at 140 and Humans at 120, the human growth rate has slowed but I have figured out that the higher a person is in mana the longer they live, since Elves seem to have the highest affinity for magic they have the longest lifespan, us dragons are basically magical creatures so I believe our lifespan will be incredibly long. Taevarth Journal Entry #52 Zariel has been asleep for about roughly 500 000 000 years now, he should be awakening in another 500 000 000 years. We have been watching over the world as he has said, we have looked after the different species. The humans being raised by Medreth have become greedy and hot tempered, Medreth says he has nothing to do with it but I suspect he pointed them in the wrong direction. He always liked chaos and now that Zariel isn''t here he believes he can do what he likes, even Varenth, Medreths sidekick, tried talking some sense into him but nothing worked, Medreth encourages the humans to enslave the other species and that they are the superior race, humans were the oldest race but certainly not the superior one, the other species are getting angrier and the other dragons cannot hold them back much longer, there will be a war and for the first time in a long time us dragons will have to leave our caves. Taevarth Journal Entry #66 It has been 900 000 000 years since Zariel first went to sleep and there have been many wars, we had to fight Medreth and locked him in a cage deep under the earth, we found more of that metal that Zariel used to make a stick and beat us with and smelted it to make the cage, I still have nightmares about the day we caged Medreth and his screams of fury. Varenth named the metal Zarilian in memory of the days that all that metal was used for was to teach us a lesson, we do not speak of Zariel to the other species, he is a much more powerful existence than us and the other species believed we were the apex predators, as selfish as it was we needed to remain that way for us to remain on top. Taevarth Journal Entry #100 Civilisation is so much more peaceful and advanced, there has not been a war in 500 years and they have found a way used magic to help with their everyday needs, they use magic enchant objects with mana and certainaffinitieslike a sword with the fire affinity will burn someone as it cuts through them. They enchant carriage with air magic so they don''t have to use wheels and the rides are much smoother, although those enchanted carriages are incredibly expensive, only royalty and incredibly important or corrupt nobles tend to have them. Zariel should be waking up soon, the worst part about him waking up will be explaining where Medreth is and what has happened to his Draconians, Raggy was so depressed by it when he had the seal Medreth with us, although he''d never tell us this Medreth was his favourite, and we were okay with that, they suited each other but no one expected Medreth to go so... wrong. We are all gathering at Zariel''s cask today, we can''t go into the cave with our real dragon forms, we''ve grown quite a lot, but we are staying in our dragon forms for sentimentalities sake. The Draconians had their capital city next to this mountain which caused all the crystals in the cave to be mined out. They didn''t even realise how important the cave was to their history but I couldn''t blame them for that. As a final note, I will say this, welcome back Zariel, I¡¯m sorry about the world you have come into. I had spent my time dreaming, and talking with Timera, I learned that this hibernation thing is for immortals to rest their minds, for them to live so long without taking a break is dangerous, Timera said because it was my first hibernation it would be longer than the rest. As long as I slept at least once a week from now on my hibernations in the future would be cut down significantly. The time I spent dreaming was mainly just random crap my brain comes up with, I don''t get the movies I watched where the actors dream of their memories, I''''ve never had that and I have way more memories than them. Unfortunately, I started to dream of my memories which made me pissed I could no longer be mad at those unrealistic movies, I dreamt of the dragons and of the days I was on Earth, I dreamt of the Draconians and of Revin and Mari and their little child l''ll never see, wasn''t much of a loss though considering that reptile babies aren¡¯t that cute except when they''re my little dragons. After what seemed like only a couple of hours I opened my eyes, to absolute darkness, for a second I thought I hadn''t opened my eyes it was so dark. I lifted my arm up to feel the cold stone that was my cask, I sighed remembering a billion years had passed, the dragons will be so big. They grow up too fast, I wasn''t there for it but I moved on quickly, I wanted to see them soon so I used magic to melt the lid away. I sat up and looked around and realised something, I was no longer in the cave. {Nerreth POV} Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. It had been a while since we had gathered outside the cave to wait for Zariel, Taevarth was the most excited since he could not stop talking. I sat on my cloud waiting for him to come out. We had all stayed in dragon form because it was the form Zariel was most familiar with. "Maybe you got the day wrong?" said Ragnarok after Taevarths initial excitment had died slightly, now he frowned. "I think something is wrong..." Varenth said. "I agree, wasn''t there meant to be something protecting the cask outside the cave, they were your golems right Varenth?" Taevarth inquired, sounding worried. "That''s what I meant before, normally I can sense my creations once I''m at a certain distance, and I can''t sense anything, not my golems and not Zariel''s mana trail" "Oh shit..." Raggy said quietly, all the dragons turned into human form and ventured into the cave to check on the room Zariel was in, we saw a hole in the wall at the back of the cave, it led into a room that looked carved with mana, inside it was... empty. "Who could have done this? The humans? The enslaved most of the Draconians and explored this continent, it wouldn''t be a surprise if they found this cave" "It was probably those damn human heroes, always adventuring and shit, they probably thought Zariels cask was anartifactfrom the ancient times" "Okay we split up and go to each of our countries capital cities and ask if they have they cask, we don''t know for sure it''s the humans, they''ve changed their ways" I said, Taevarth looked heartbroken, even though he was the most intelligent out of all of us he had always been the most childish and the most adoring of Zariel. "Whose going to ask the Draconians and the Humans, they don''t have a dragon overwatcher" said Raggy, Ivolunteeredfor the role and we all separated to find Zariel. ===~=== It seemed the room I was in was a treasury or a storage room of sorts. There were piles of golden coins and chests with swords and shields laying about, the room was massive with white colums and a hard smooth floor, I didn''t know what any of the materials were but that wasn''t what was important, I needed to know where I was. I tried using telepathy with the dragons to no avail, it seems I can''t get a good lock on their minds for some reason. Suddenly I heard a creaking at the massive doors at the front of the room, they were engraved with two angels on either side holding the inner frame of the door, looking like they were the ones pulling the door open. When they door was wide enough I saw who was actually opening the door, two soldiers were pushing with all their might, I had hoped so because those doors looked to be several tonnes. As the soldiers pushed the doors I inspected them, they were human it seems and not that strong, I could analyse that much at least. Walking between the doors that were now opened enough for three humans to walk shoulder to shoulder through, a man in a white mantle with a golden trim, he wore a dark blue robe underneath the mantle and looked regal, kingly. I realised as soon as I looked at his head he was a king after all, he had a crown made out of a dark silver like the stick I used to ''educate'' the dragonlings and Ragnarok with... perhaps they found more? His face looked to be in the early 50''s with a short, red beard and stern eyes and face, like a army general who had seen too many wars. "Who are you? Did you come out of the Dragon''s Cask?" his eyes narrowed, he looked pissed but not surprised... interesting. "I did indeed, was I expected?" I swung my cane in a circle, it was a good cane so I buried it with me in the cask. "You were, the great dragons themselves expect you, whatever you have done I hope you get punished justly, seize him!" "Yes my king!" the soldiers responded simultaniously, they marched towards me. Arrest me? What had I done? And the dragons asked for me? did they perhaps arrange for me to be here I wonder? The soldiers grabbed my arms and dragged me out of thetreasury, they hauled me along the corridors with the king in tow, I tried to make some conversation to make the trip less boring. "So what''s been happening these past billion years? Anything cool? Gosh I hope something cool happened otherwise I''ll have to do something drastic" The king and guards tensed at that. "Not like blow up the city! I''m not evil... well the dragons might think I''m evil but kids always go into that stage where everyone is the enemy, the lessons I taught them were valuable I swear, I have been thinking since you said that whole thing about ''dragons and punishment and justice'' and I realised the dragons description of me may have been the wrong impression" The king humphed and sneered at me. "the great Blue Dragon Lady Nerreth said you would not put up a fight, it seems she was right... the dragons gathered at our palace and said we had in our treasury an evil man inside a cask of a coffin, they said this man uses brute force for the most petty of things and leaves people behind for his own selfish reasons" I sighed and shook my head. "Kids am I right?" I chuckled, no one laughed. I decided to let thing go with the flow, it would be funny to see their shocked faces when I greeted them. I stayed silent and let them lead me to the dragons, I started to sense somefamiliarpulls, I noticed it was the minds of the dragons but they were blocked off... like they had walls. I smiled, they had certainly grown. "We are here great dragons of this world, we have brought the evil one. please deliver punishment!" the king bowed down as well as the massive crowd that had gathered, we were on what seemed to be a plateau off the palace, it was absolutely colossal with a barrier around it, a large crowd of what I can only assume were nobles and other members of the royal family were here. Good. another thing that was there were 5 figures I knew very well, but there were supposed to be six. I was grateful that Nerreth, Taevarth, Lyth, Varenth and Ragnarok were here but... Medreth was not. All the dragons were in their dragon forms, they had gotten much bigger, almost as big a 4 story building but they could easily fit on the plateau. Raggy was Guards let me go while I was deep in thought, everyone had hateful looks on their faces, the dragons were absolute here, anyone who was hated by the dragons was hated by the public that revered them, it seems even Raggy was a point of influence. "Come forward" said Nerreth in a queenly tone, I saw the others trying not to giggle or laugh. I was biting my lip trying not to laugh either, all eyes were on me so the public didn''t see them trying not laugh, some smirked probably mistaking me trying not to laugh as nervousness. "You havecommitteda severe crime against this world Zariel" said Varenth speaking up. "Come closer" Lyth said quietly, she was in front of new people so her shyness must be acting up. I walked right up to Nerreth at the front Raggy was leaning against her cloud she was hovering on, her body had gotten much longer and was curled up in a pile upon the cloud. She leant down to my face. I heard the audience gasp, they probably thought she was going to eat me. "Your crime against this world, is not walking on its earth and speaking to its inhabitants and learning its culture... welcome back Zariel" she nuzzled me with her snout which was a tall as me, I pat her on the head and everyone else came forward, I gave Raggy a hug and a pat on the back, he hit me so hard on the back I almost fell forward, his strength had always been so abnormal for someone so old looking. Taevarth nuzzled me like a puppy unlike Nerreth''s calmness. I would have thought the situations would be switched but we all change I guess. Varenth put an earth pillar beneath my feet and raised me to his eyesight. "It''s good to see you Zariel but Medreth..." People gasped as soon as they heard the name, I turned to see faces of horror and fear. I sighed and turned back to Varenth, "What has that boy done now?" ¡°He¡ started a war, the humans he commanded destroyed and enslaved many people¡ the Draconians were scattered, half of them are slaves and the other half are hiding in their capital city and haven''t come out in years, their birthrate is low and their population wasn¡¯t that big to begin with when the war started, they were forced to fight to protect their land and the results were disastrous¡± Ragnarok was the one who spoke since it looked like Varenth was too distraught, now that I think about it Medreth was Raggy¡¯s favourite student, no wonder Raggy had been so quiet. ¡°Medreth did this?¡± I asked. ¡°Yes, we have him in a Zarilian cage¡ we named the metal after you, it¡¯s what the kings crown is made of and that stick you used to beat us with that damn stick¡± Lyth finally spoke out, not sounding as shy anymore. The others shuddered when The Stick was mentioned. I glanced over to the king and his crown, the man was sweating like a pig. Probably because he just realised that he insulted a man who acts like a leader to the most powerful beings on this planet. ¡°I see now¡ where is the cage?¡± I looked back at them who all had downcast faces. ¡°The lava pit where we were born, he has been in there, Zirilian doesn¡¯t melt and Medreth was immune to the lavas heat¡± Taevarth said glumly, I knew none of them were happy about sealing their brother away. ¡°I was told about a vision once, where Medreth rose some lava figures against the rest of us, attacking us, I realise now I may have taken the vision in the wrong context, perhaps it¡¯s wasn¡¯t as literal as I thought, take me to him¡± The king looked up at me with fear in his eyes, all the other people in the area did the same. ¡°Lo- lord Zariel, I am sorry for my behaviour before, you should know I hold the dragons in the highest regard and I had never even hear-¡° I waved my hand at the crowed of people and they all collapsed, at least the king stopped his incessant voice. ¡°What did you do?¡± Lyth asked, looking ready to cast healing magic. ¡°Relax, I wiped their memories of the past 3 hours and put them to sleep, so no one remembers me or you guys, is that okay? Although they will be a little confused as to why they¡¯re passed out here but I¡¯m sure weirder things have happened, I think¡± I was confused by Lyth being so protective. She knew me well enough to know I wouldn¡¯t kill them. ¡°Yes¡ yes that¡¯s fine¡± she backed off. I smiled and clapped my hands to get their attention and distract them from the depressing mood they had been in since Medreth was mentioned. ¡°Right! I¡¯ve been asleep for a while guys in case you hadn¡¯t noticed so the world has moved on without me, as I can already see from this castle and its inhabitants, so we¡¯ll go to a nice place and have a long chat and then we¡¯ll go see Medreth and I¡¯ll see if I can do anything to help him, that sound good?¡± They all nodded and spread their wings, Raggy whistled and summoned a Roc, they seemed to have evolved since I last saw them, they had grown and their wingspan was five men wide, it also seemed to have gotten more eyes, it had four eyes now still a red colour. Their feather colour had stayed the same with a dark black and brown. Raggy jumped on its back without its complaint but as soon as I neared it, it screeched at me like I was its mortal enemy. ¡°Sorry Zariel, they¡¯re trained to only let demons and I ride them, you¡¯ll have to fly yourself¡± he smirked and flew off, I guess they were all pretty pissed at me leaving to get some shut eye. ¡°Not like I had a choice¡¡± I muttered and used Air Magic to fly into the air and catch up with my family.
