《Unlimited Skill Points System》
Chapter 1
C1 ¨C The Power of the Infinite Skill Points System
¡°Eh? Didn¡¯t I die trying to save someone? But now¡ where am I?¡±
Jiaang Lin opened his eyes to find himself lying on a lush grassy field. A gentle breeze caressed his face, bringing a sense of cool relief.
[Answer!]
You are now in a fantasy world. You¡¯re within the territory of Cloud City in the Profound Fire Kingdom on the Xuanyuan Continent, atop the me Beast in!
¡°Damn! What is that?!¡±
Jiaang Lin¡¯s heart raced as an unexpected voice echoed in his mind.
¡°What are you?!¡± Jiaang Lin demanded.
[Answer!]
This system is the Infinite Skill Points System, designed to help the protagonist be the strongest being in the world!
¡°An auxiliary system? The Infinite Skill Points System?¡±
Jiaang Lin mumbled to himself, his eyes suddenly sparkling with excitement. He smacked his thigh with force!
¡°Ouch! That hurts!¡±
He yelped in pain, but his difort quickly turned to tion.
¡°Oh my god! I, Jiaang Lin, have been reborn with a system. With my memories from my past life, I¡¯m destined to be the strongest in the world!¡±
[Ding!]
Congrattions, you have acquired the skill: Cloud shing Palm!
[Cloud shing Palm: With this skill, you can move mountains and overturn seas, destroying anything in your path!]
[Current level of Cloud shing Palm: 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to the maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
A holographic green data screen materialized before Jiaang Lin. His mouth agape in awe, he eximed, ¡°This¡ I choose yes!¡±
[Ding!]
Cloud shing Palm has been upgraded to the maximum level. Current skill level of Cloud shing Palm: 10/10.
Perfect!
This is absolutely perfect!
With the Infinite Skill Points System, I can definitely marry a wealthy beauty, be a CEO, and reach the summit of life!
Awoooo ~ ~
While Jiaang Lin was lost in his dreams of the future, a chilling wolf howl erupted from behind him, giving him quite the scare!
Turning around, he saw a giant wolf, its fur as fiery as mes!
The wolf towered over Jiaang Lin, its robust frame and a pair of ws like bays, glinting with lethal sharpness.
Jiaang Lin thought, ¡°If that giant wolf hits me, I¡¯m a goner. I¡¯ll end up as its next meal!¡±
He watched the giant wolf with a growing sense of fear, his gaze flickering uncertainly.
Sensing Jiaang Lin¡¯s terror, the giant wolf let out a low growl and began to advance slowly towards him.
At that moment, Jiaang Lin was paralyzed with fear. On 21st-century Earth, even a vicious dog could be deadly, much less this fiery behemoth before him!
For a brief moment, Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind went nk. He closed his eyes instinctively, as if resigning himself to whatever fate had in store.
The system has detected a demonic beast from the fantasy world: the Fire Wolf.
¡°That¡¯s right! I have the system; there¡¯s no need to fear it!¡±
With the reminder of the system¡¯s presence, the fear vanished from Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes, and hisposure returned.
¡°I have the system, I have skills; what¡¯s there to fear?¡±
A cold smirk yed on Jiaang Lin¡¯s lips as he stared down the Fire Wolf.
The Fire Wolf, perceiving a drastic shift in the human¡¯s presence, wasted no time. It transformed into a blur of motion, lunging at Jiaang Lin with astonishing speed.
Jiaang Lin was taken aback by the Fire Wolf¡¯s formidable velocity, which sent shivers down his spine. He leaped aside instinctively, yet a deep, bleeding gash still marked his shoulder, causing him to clench his teeth in agony.
Then, the system¡¯s voice chimed in once more!
You have acquired the skill: Evading.
[Evading]: This skill allows you to dodge all attacks.
[Evading Level: 1/10.]
[Would you like to upgrade it to the maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
Upon hearing about the Evading skill, Jiaang Lin¡¯s face broke into an ecstatic grin, and he urged excitedly, ¡°Yes, yes, yes¡ªupgrade it now!¡±
[Ding!]
[The Evading skill has reached maximum level!]
[Current Evading skill level: 10/10.]
In that instant, the Fire Wolf spun around, unching its second attack at Jiaang Lin with lightning speed. Jiaang Lin seemed to have anticipated the Fire Wolf¡¯s move, subtly stepping to the left. The Fire Wolf¡¯s strike went wide, leaving Jiaang Lin unscathed!
The very next moment, the Fire Wolf let out an enraged howl, transforming into streaks of red light as it furiously lunged at Jiaang Lin. With calm and measured steps, Jiaang Lin effortlessly dodged each attack, his heart swelling with tion.
The skill could evade any attack.
Such was the power of this skill that calling it a divine technique was by no means an overstatement!.
Chapter 2
C2 ¨C The Power of the Maximum Level Cloud shing Palm
The Fire Wolf¡¯s repeated attacks were effortlessly anticipated by Jiaang Lin, who dodged with ease, igniting a fiery rage within the beast. It was infuriating for such a formidable creature to waste so much time on a mere human¡ªa fact that would surely bring ridicule from its peers.
?Suddenly, the Fire Wolf¡¯s body burst into a frenzy of mes, its speed increasing more than tenfold. Its eyes glinted with a savage, bloodthirsty light; it could no longer contain its fury. This attack was destined to annihte the insignificant human before it!
But in that very moment, the Fire Wolf was taken aback as the human¡¯s presence became as imposing as a mountain range, as profound as the ocean depths. It was as though a cataclysmic hurricane had erupted, shattering mountains and reversing the tides, making the Fire Wolf feel utterly insignificant.
How could this be? The human had shown no sign of such power before! How could he now possess such an overwhelming presence?
Amidst this eerie turn of events, fear took root in the Fire Wolf¡¯s heart. As itunched its attack, it unleashed a piercing howl: Cloud shing Palm!
?Jiaang Lin felt an immense force erupt from his palm, as if guided by an unseen consciousness. He followed this mysterious guidance and struck out at the Fire Wolf with his palm. In a sh, a tempest raged, toppling mountains and upending seas.
?A golden palm imprint struck the Fire Wolf squarely, its eyes wide with terror. It was reduced to a mound of flesh without even a chance to cry out. The golden imprint didn¡¯t stop there; it continued its path of destruction, striking a mountain a kilometer away and leaving a colossal imprint.
?Jiaang Lin gazed at his palm in stunned silence before eximing in awe, ¡°Incredible! This system is unbelievably powerful!¡± His voice bubbled with tion, ¡°Armed with this limitless skill and system, I¡¯m now more confident than ever that I can be the ultimate champion!¡± With the defeat of the Fire Wolf, he earned one experience point.
?After defeating the Fire Wolf, the option to activate the Capture Function appeared. Would he choose to capture it?
Yes.
No.
¡°What¡¯s the Capture Function?¡± Jiaang Lin asked, clearly puzzled. It seemed there were many features of this system he had yet to discover.
Answer!
The Capture Function is triggered upon the host¡¯s sessful kill of a demonic beast, which can then be captured. The beast is resurrected, imprinted with the host¡¯s soul, and sworn to eternal loyalty and service to the host!
¡°So, you¡¯re saying I can enlist a demonic beast as my minion?¡±
Answer!
Yes!
¡°Awesome! Having a demonic beast as my mount would be incredibly cool!¡±
Jiaang Lin imagined himself riding the Fire Wolf and taming an array of demonic beasts, his heart racing with anticipation!
Once his power grew enough, could he even tame the mythical Dragon?!
¡°Dragon!¡±
The thought of soaring through the skies atop a dragon filled Jiaang Lin with excitement, and he made an immediate decision.
He had to grow stronger, and when the time came, he would im a Dragon as his mount!
Capture sessful! The beast has been added to the Mount Space!
Just as Jiaang Lin was about to summon the newly tamed Fire Wolf, his expression shifted dramatically!
A series of wolf howls pierced the air. Jiaang Lin turned towards the source of the noise, his skin crawling with dread.
Nine me Beast Demonic Wolves were advancing towards him in a semicircle, effectively encircling him!
Each of the nine me Beast Demonic Wolves snarled menacingly, their sharp ws and fierce fangs sending shivers down Jiaang Lin¡¯s spine.
Jiaang Lin, an ordinary man from a stable society, couldn¡¯t help but feel fear when confronted with such unfamiliar and daunting creatures in this strange new world.
Chapter 3
C3 ¨C The Fire Wolf Tribe
¡°System, how did they find me?¡± Jiaang Lin inquired, his brow furrowed.
[Answer!]
The Fire Wolf is a social demonic beast, with ten forming a pack. Typically, they wouldn¡¯t stray beyond a thousand meters from their pack¡¯s territory!
¡°Damn! It must have been when that Fire Wolf signaled the others!¡±
He recalled the long howl from the Fire Wolf he had in earlier. It must have been a signal to itspanions!
¡°A demonic beast calling for backup?¡± Jiaang Lin said mockingly.
In a sh, nine me Beast demonic wolves were closing in. Observing the twitching of their muscles, Jiaang Lin sensed they were poised to leap at him!
[Ding!]
[Skill Acquired: See Through!]
[See Through: Discern whether a target is lying or predict their next move through subtle facial expressions or movements.]
[See Through Level: 1/10.]
[Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
¡°This skill could reallye in handy! Yes!¡±
[Ding!]
[See Through has been upgraded to maximum level!]
[Current level of dodge skill: 10/10.]
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin noticed some imperceptible shifts in his perspective.
Watching the nine Fire Wolves, he deduced from their gazes and gestures, coupled with the trembling of their muscles, that they were about to spring into action.
As soon as the thought crossed Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind, the nine Fire Wolves lunged at him. He had anticipated their move and expertly deployed his dodge skill, slipping out of the Fire Wolves¡¯ blind spot in their attack!
The nine Fire Wolves lunged and missed, turning to attack Jiaang Lin again, but he wasn¡¯t about to give them another opportunity!
He was feeling fatigued; after all, he was only human, and they were demonic beasts with far superior physical and mental stamina.
His only option was a swift and decisive battle; otherwise, system or not, he would fall to their onught!
Cloud shing Palm!
Boom¡ª
The familiar surge of immense power welled up within him once more!
A formidable aura burst forth from Jiaang Lin, and the nine Fire Wolves felt as though they faced an invincible emperor, manding an endless army charging toward them!
The chilling aura was overpowering, with a subtle force in the air locking onto them¡ªescape was impossible! The nine Fire Wolves¡¯ eyes shimmered with terror as they knelt on the ground, their bodies quivering like chaff in the wind. Jiaang Lin unleashed a palm strike, and as the golden imprint swept across, the nine demonic beasts were reduced to ash and pulp. By a twist of fate, this palmnded exactly on the previous imprint on the mountain peak. With a thunderous crash, the mountain was punctured by the force of the palm, leaving a massive, awe-inspiring hole.
¡°Too strong!¡± Jiaang Lin whispered to himself. To think that he could punch a colossal hole through a mountain with just two strikes¡ªit was almost too astounding to believe. His past life¡¯s instinct for danger warned him that if any powerful beings witnessed his strength, they would surely seek to eliminate him. With only this single skill at his disposal, how could he possibly stand a chance against them? This realization made Jiaang Lin break out in a cold sweat. He understood that not every skill needed to be raised to the maximum level¡ªit all depended on the circumstances. For now, having mastered the Cloud shing Palm should suffice for self-defense. He would consider upgrading his offensive skills as the situation demanded.
[Ding!]
For ying the Fire Wolf, you¡¯ve earned 1 experience point.
For ying the Fire Wolf, you¡¯ve earned 2 experience points.
For ying the Fire Wolf, you¡¯ve earned 3 experience points.

[Ding!]
Congrattions to the host for advancing to Martial Cultivator Level 1!
?¡±Martial Cultivator Level 1?¡± Jiaang Lin pondered, recalling from his previous life¡¯s knowledge of the fantasy world that this was indeed a level of cultivation.
[Ding!]
After killing 10 Fire Wolves, the capture function is avable. Would you like to capture one?
Yes.
No.
¡°Yes,¡± Jiaang Lin decided, opting to capture.
[Capture sessful!] The creature has been secured in the Mount Space.
Jiaang Lin nodded, then inquired, ¡°System, how are the cultivation realms categorized in this world?¡±
[Answer!]
Martial Cultivator, Martial Master, Grand Martial Master, Martial King, Martial Emperor, Martial Saint, Martial Monarch, Martial God, Martial Ancestor. Each realm is further divided into nine stages.
?¡±Ah, I see.¡± Jiaang Lin stroked his chin, pondering for a moment before requesting, ¡°Show me my attribute panel.¡±

Jiaang Lin gazed at the green light screen before him, his expression tinged with indignation.
Having crossed over into this world, he possessed no memories of the body¡¯s original owner, leaving him without any recollection of his predecessor¡¯s life.
Yet, witnessing the tragic fate that had befallen the body¡¯s former inhabitant, Jiaang Lin resolved to seek vengeance for ¡°himself,¡± determined to reim his ce within the Jiaang family.
Moreover, the still-standing ¡°Five Finger Mountain¡± was a beacon that would surely draw attention before long.
With resolve, Jiaang Lin made his decision:
sh!
Chapter 4
C4 ¨C The Female Cultivator on the Flying Sword¡¯s Mosaic
Without hesitation, Jiaang Lin set off in a particr direction. But after just a couple of steps, he realized he had no clue how to get to the Jiaang family¡¯s ce. ¡°System, what¡¯s the way to Cloud City?¡± he inquired, havinge to understand the system¡¯s vast knowledge.
[Answer!]
The map of the Profound Fire Kingdom has been fully uploaded into the host¡¯s brain!
?¡±Absolutely perfect!¡± Jiaang Lin felt a sudden influx of information in his mind. After closing his eyes and focusing for a moment, the once unfamiliar road ahead became clear, as though he had traversed it countless times before.
Moreover, a three-dimensional image of the Profound Fire Kingdom materialized in Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind. Whenever he thought of Cloud City, the image pinpointed its precise location. In Cloud City, a small red dot indicated his current position.
?¡±Perfect! Truly perfect!¡± Now with the map of Cloud City etched in his memory, Jiaang Lin confidently strode along the familiar path.
But he had only covered a few hundred meters when the sound of rushing wind from behind startled him. The initially faint noise grew louder, as if it were right on his heels.
?Turning around, Jiaang Lin spotted three figures in the distance, gliding on flying swords towards him with the speed of shooting stars. Realizing they were heading straight for him, he didn¡¯t hesitate to bolt.
?¡±Halt, kid!¡± A voice rang out. A woman and two men, each astride a flying sword, suddenly blocked his path. The tips of their swords, which held them aloft with ease, were now aimed threateningly at Jiaang Lin¡¯s neck from three different directions.
Just then, the system¡¯s voice chimed in Jiaang Lin¡¯s head:
[Ding!]
[Skill acquired: Sprint.]
[Sprint: Run rapidly.]
[Maximum level effect: Supersonic speed.]
[Sprint level: 1/10.]
¡°Do you want to upgrade the skill to maximum level?¡±
¡°Yes.¡±
¡°No.¡±
Jiaang Lin was ecstatic, bursting into heartyughter within his heart!
With the system at his fingertips, the world was his for the taking!
He couldn¡¯t have gained this skill at a better time!
Hahaha!
Yes!
Ding!
Your skill {Blink} has reached maximum level!
Current {Blink} skill level: 10/10.
Maximum level effect: Triple the speed of sound.
Jiaang Lin felt as light as a feather. Not even the most skilled movement grandmasters or light-footed experts couldpete with him now!
Jiaang Lin had this sensation that with a mere thought, he could appear anywhere within a thousand meters just by moving his feet!
Such a divine technique was nearly on par with teleportation!
Armed with this divine technique, Jiaang Lin lost all sense of fear.
He was now utterly confident that he could escape a thousand meters away in the blink of an eye, even as an enemy¡¯s sword aimed for his throat!
¡°Do you need something?¡±
In that moment, Jiaang Lin affected a rxed demeanor, though his right leg was coiled like a spring, ready to unleash his sprinting skill at a moment¡¯s notice!
As soon as Jiaang Lin spoke, he felt the tips of three flying swords simultaneously pressing against his neck. The female cultivator facing him inquired, ¡°Tell me, why did you run when you saw me earlier? Do you know something?¡±
It was only upon hearing her speak that Jiaang Lin remembered to look at her.
And when he did, he was momentarily spellbound.
The woman was strikingly beautiful, reminiscent of the female superstars from his previous life!
As Jiaang Lin looked up, a gust of wind fortuitously swept by, lifting the front of the woman¡¯s long dress. As it fluttered down, it momentarily draped over Jiaang Lin¡¯s head, causing a stir among the onlookers.
Chapter 5
C5 ¨C Do You Think I Want to See It??
¡°Ah!¡±
The female cultivator let out a piercing scream, and suddenly, Jiaang Lin felt an icy, bone-chilling aura erupt from her body!
In an instant, Jiaang Lin¡¯s feet moved, and he found himself a thousand meters away!
You have obtained the skill: Passive Sensory Perception!
Passive Sensory Perception: Allows you to keenly sense danger signals!
Do you wish to upgrade this skill to maximum level?
Yes.
No.
¡°Yes.¡±
Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind was consumed by the scene he had just witnessed. He remembered the woman¡¯s face he had seen, and felt a warmth in his nose. Reaching up to wipe it, he discovered his hand was covered in blood.
With a dazed and foolish expression, Jiaang Lin chuckled, ¡°She wasn¡¯t wearing anything at all.¡±
¡°Ah!¡±
While Jiaang Lin was lost in his thoughts, another scream echoed from afar, followed by three figures swiftly approaching him!
¡°Don¡¯t interfere. I want to kill him myself!¡± the female cultivator bellowed, then addressed Jiaang Lin.
¡°Pervert! You¡¯re dead!¡±
In a sh, the trio covered the distance of a thousand meters and confronted Jiaang Lin. The female cultivatornded, her flying sword shifting from her feet to her grasp, and she swung it fiercely at Jiaang Lin!
Passive Sensory Perception!
At that moment, Jiaang Lin was overwhelmed with fear.
¡°Danger!¡±
Evade!
?The female cultivator¡¯s sword strikes came relentlessly, but Jiaang Lin¡¯s agile maneuvers kept him unscathed. The other two cultivators watched in astonishment as Jiaang Lin¡¯s figure seemed to blur, effortlessly evading Senior Sister Zhou Qin¡¯s blows ¨C not a single strike reached him.
¡°How is this possible? Senior Sister Zhou Qin is a Level 3 Martial Cultivator, and he¡¯s just a Level 1. How could he possibly dodge her attacks?¡±
¡°This guy is too bizarre! It must be his superior movement skills. Otherwise, there¡¯s no way he could evade Senior Sister Zhou Qin¡¯s swift sword!¡±
The pair exchanged a look, both seeing the astonishment reflected in the other¡¯s eyes.
¡°His agility is masterful!¡±
Zhou Qin had taken note of Jiaang Lin¡¯s peculiar agility. She was a practitioner of the fast sword technique, capable of unleashing three strikes in a single second. Such swiftness was a challenge for even those cultivators at her level who were familiar with her martial skills to evade, much less for Jiaang Lin who was unaware of the fast sword.
Doubt about the movement technique Jiaang Lin practiced crept into Zhou Qin¡¯s mind.
¡°You two,e and help me quickly!¡± Zhou Qin called out with a furrowed brow to two junior brothers d in white.
¡°Scoundrel, meet your end!¡±
Upon hearing Zhou Qin¡¯s summons, the pair immediately drew their swords and charged at Jiaang Lin, who felt overwhelmed and then protested, ¡°Even though you¡¯re beautiful, can you refrain from attacking me without cause?¡±
¡°Do you think I want to look at you? I certainly do not!¡±
¡°Scoundrel! I will end you!¡±
Zhou Qin was aware that her exposure was not directly Jiaang Lin¡¯s fault, yet she was infuriated!
As a beauty, no cultivator other than her master had everid hands on her. And now, she had been seen in her entirety ¨C how could she tolerate that?
Moreover, the words Jiaang Lin had spoken only fueled her desire to take his life!
She was determined to kill Jiaang Lin!
Indeed!
With this in mind, Zhou Qin¡¯s assaults grew increasingly vicious. Yet, no matter how the trio attacked, Jiaang Lin remained serene andposed, effortlessly evading all their strikes.

Chapter 6
C6 ¨C I Am Not Satisfied with This Skill
?Under the relentless assault of the trio, Jiaang Lin effortlessly dodged every attack with ease. No matter the angle of their onught, even when they seemed to have cut off all possible escape routes, Jiaang Lin slipped away like an elusive mudfish, miraculously finding a sliver of survival in the most unexpected ces.
?Their jaws dropped at his bizarre maneuvering skills. Without the aid of a flying sword, he could traverse a thousand meters in the blink of an eye, evading lethal blows from the most challenging angles. Such an advanced movement technique was surely far from ordinary.
Moreover, Jiaang Lin was merely a Martial Cultivator at Level 1,cking the strength to perform spells. This indicated that he must have mastered a formidable movement martial technique to aplish such feats that defied belief.
¡°He must have at least mastered a Profound Level movement martial technique!¡± Zhou Qin eximed through gritted teeth.
¡°I agree!¡± Zu Nan chimed in.
¡°Senior Sister, why don¡¯t we kill him and seize his movement martial technique?¡± Sunn Tang suggested, his eyes glinting with greed.
?Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes shed with a deadly intent upon hearing this. If they sought his life because he had seen her body, he would have epted his fate without protest. But the idea of them coveting his cultivation technique was something he could not tolerate.
?¡±Our Master sent us to investigate this matter. It doesn¡¯t seem right for us to act this way,¡± Zhou Qin remarked, her brow furrowed, yet a spark of intrigue was unmistakable in her gaze.
Jiaang Lin¡¯s skills were at their peak, having reached the maximum level of 10. Zhou Qin tried to hide her true feelings, but Jiaang Lin saw right through her, detecting the genuine interest she harbored.
?She was indeed intrigued. Zhou Qin¡¯s junior brothers, who had joined her on many demonic beast hunts, understood her well.
Sunn Tang pressed on, ¡°Senior Sister, there¡¯s no one else around. If we kill him and leave his body in the territory of the Fire Wolves, he¡¯ll just be another unfortunate soul lost to the me Beasts. No one will connect it to us.¡±
Feeling persuaded by his own argument, Sunn Tang gave Zhou Qin a smug look, continuing his assault without pause. He then turned to her, asking confidently, ¡°What do you say, Senior Sister Zhou Qin?¡±
When Sunn Tang posed his question, he was fairly certain Zhou Qin would consent, which prompted a sly grin from him.
¡°Senior Sister, just say yes! Consider it, it¡¯s a Profound Level movement martial technique!¡± Zu Nan eagerly added.
Their words only heightened Zhou Qin¡¯s curiosity. She was on the verge of giving her assent when suddenly, a chilling voice pierced the air!
¡°Do you still think you can kill me?¡± Jiaang Lin¡¯s lips curled into a cold sneer, his gazeden with murderous intent. ¡°Think again!¡±
In a sh, a deadly aura burst forth from Jiaang Lin, visibly unsettling the trio.
Skill Acquired: Tyrant Aura!
Tyrant Aura: Explosive Presence ¡ª You can stun those of a lower level than yourself!
Maximum Level Effect: Explosive Presence ¡ª You can stun those who are one great stage below your own level!
Would you like to upgrade it to maximum level?
Yes.
No.
¡°Doesn¡¯t this skill seem a bitckluster? Even if I elevate it to maximum level, I can only stun those who are at most one great stage beneath me?¡±
Jiaang Lin was clearly underwhelmed by this ability.

C7 ¨C Profound Level Martial Skill Rushing Thunder Sword
Skill Acquired: Tyrant Aura!
Tyrant Aura: Unleash an overwhelming presence, intimidating the heavens and earth, capable of stunning cultivators who are over Level 1 and those at or below your own level!
Maximum Level Effect: Unleash an overwhelming presence, intimidating the heavens and earth, capable of stunning cultivators above your own great stage and those below your level!
Would you like to upgrade it to the maximum level?
Yes.
No.
¡°This skill doesn¡¯t seem all that powerful, does it? Upgrading to the maximum level only allows you to stun cultivators above your level and below?¡±
Jiaang Lin was clearly dissatisfied with the skill.
Despite his dissatisfaction with the skill¡¯s potency, Jiaang Lin still chose ¡®Yes.¡¯
Tyrant Aura was upgraded to the maximum level. Current Tyrant Aura level: 10/10.
Jiaang Lin felt as though he had undergone a transformation. He experienced a moment of supreme confidence, as if he were an emperor, with Zhou Qin, Zu Nan, and Sunn Tang appearing as mere ants before him!
But this sensation was fleeting, vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.
The fleeting feeling left Jiaang Lin in a state of blissful reverie.
He licked his lips nostalgically, longing for that brief moment of empowerment.
However, Zhou Qin, Zu Nan, and Sunn Tang, who were facing Jiaang Lin, caught a glimpse of his expression. Zhou Qin, in particr, was in a heightened emotional state, and upon seeing Jiaang Lin¡¯s look of deep satisfaction, fury ignited within her. Her shame and anger red to an extreme in an instant.
¡°Senior Sister! Look at this guy¡¯s face. He¡¯s clearly up to no good! Shouldn¡¯t we tear him to shreds and take his Profound Level movement martial technique?¡± Zu Nan, interpreting Jiaang Lin¡¯s expression as one of lecherous reminiscence, was instantly incensed and spoke out.
¡°Senior Sister, let¡¯s take action!¡± Sunn Tang added, his eyes glinting with a chilling resolve.
¡°Alright!¡± The sh of embarrassment and anger in Zhou Qin¡¯s eyes was quickly reced by a surge of lethal intent.
A woman¡¯s reputation is of utmost importance. Jiaang Lin hadpromised her honor, and to add insult to injury, he had the audacity to disy a look of fond recollection. Zhou Qin could not stand for such a disgrace.
In a split second, Zhou Qin threw caution to the wind and swung her sword directly at Jiaang Lin!
Upon seeing Zhou Qin make her move, Zu Nan and Sunn Tang alsounched into action with cold sneers, shing their swords with swift and fierce movements.
This sudden misunderstanding left Jiaang Lin speechless, feeling utterly incapable of clearing the air.
As Jiaang Lin was about to attempt an exnation, the trio had already swung their swords at him. Reacting with lightning speed, Jiaang Lin employed his dodge skill, his figure shifting with ghost-like swiftness. In the nick of time, he nimbly dodged the onught of attacks from all three.
¡°I meant I wasn¡¯t thinking about your long white legs. No, that¡¯s not what I meant! Sigh!¡± In his panic, Jiaang Lin nearly let slip his earlier glimpse of Zhou Qin¡¯s legs, but holding back his words only served to infuriate her more.
Zhou Qin, seemingly enraged, unched a relentless barrage of lethal strikes, each one narrowly avoided by Jiaang Lin¡¯s quick reflexes.
¡°Thunder Sword!¡±
Zhou Qin¡¯s voice thundered as her sword erupted with the brilliance of lightning. The de transformed into a bolt of lightning, racing towards Jiaang Lin with thunderous speed. Though not quite as fast as actual lightning, it was still impressively quick to Jiaang Lin.
Chapter 8
C8 ¨C The Domineering Power
¡°Profound Level martial skill, Thundering Sword! Senior Sister Zhou Qin, you¡¯re serious!¡±
Zu Nan and Sunn Tang exchanged a nce, each seeing the shock reflected in the other¡¯s eyes.
¡°He¡¯s done for this time!¡± they dered, stepping aside so as not to interfere with Zhou Qin¡¯s assault.
Facing a formidable foe, Jiaang Lin¡¯s maximum level dodge skill had reached thrice the speed of sound. Even if Zhou Qin¡¯s swordy was twice as fast, Jiaang Lin could effortlessly sidestep to safety.
Dodge, activate!
Zhou Qin unleashed three sword strikes, each targeting a different part of Jiaang Lin¡¯s body with extreme precision and ferocity.
Jiaang Lin narrowed his eyes, a hint of irritation in his heart, and spoke with an icy tone, ¡°Don¡¯t push me!¡±
With those words, Jiaang Lin¡¯s movements became even more nimble, turning into a blur of afterimages before the astonished trio. He effortlessly evaded Zhou Qin¡¯s attack and then fixed them with a chilling stare.
Zhou Qin and herpanions had not anticipated Jiaang Lin¡¯s ability to dodge the Thundering Sword, a Profound Level Martial Skill. Stunned, they stood frozen in ce, including Zhou Qin herself.
¡°How is this possible?!¡± Zu Nan eximed, eyes wide with disbelief.
¡°He actually dodged Senior Sister Zhou Qin¡¯s attack!¡± Sunn Tang shouted, equally astounded.
Zhou Qin¡¯s face darkened as she shot a cold re at Zhu Rong and snapped, ¡°No one asked for your silence!¡±
¡°This time, we three will attack together, and we won¡¯t hold back!¡± Zhou Qin said menacingly to Jiaang Lin.
¡°Do you still wish to engage?¡±
Now, Jiaang Lin was genuinely enraged. After being taunted and targeted for so long, anyone would lose their temper, especially someone as human as he was.
?¡±It¡¯s toote now,¡± Jiaang Lin said with a cold smirk, a glint of frost in his gaze.
¡°Domination!¡±
Jiaang Lin stood with his hands sped behind his back, exuding an invisible, supreme aura that swept over the trio like an unseen tempest.
In their eyes, Jiaang Lin had suddenly transformed into a sovereign emperor, his wild aura andmanding presence instilling an involuntary desire to bow before him.
In a split second, Zhou Qin and her twopanions were overwhelmed as if struck by lightning. It felt as though their brains had been hammered, and in a sh, darkness overtook them. They copsed, bleeding from every orifice, their fates uncertain.
As they hit the ground, the formidable presence emanating from Jiaang Lin vanished without a trace.
Staring at the three figures lying stiffly, blood oozing from their orifices, Jiaang Lin was taken aback. He hastily queried the system, ¡°System, did the Overbearing skill just kill them outright?!¡±
The Overbearing skill was designed to render enemies unconscious and inflict soul damage. Typically, if they ever recovered, they¡¯d be left in a vegetative state.
Vegetative state?!
?Jiaang Lin shuddered at the system¡¯s exnation. He had initially believed the Overbearing skillcked the potency of a maximum level skill and was somewhat dissatisfied with its effects.
?But now, his perspective had shifted. The ability to incapacitate enemies and reduce them to a vegetative state was undeniably a potent skill¡ªideal for self-preservation, evasion, or even as a formidable offensive tactic.
Consider the implications: inbat, if the Overbearing skill was unleashed, even a warrior a full realm above him could be reduced to a vegetative state. Wouldn¡¯t that grant him the freedom to act as he pleased?
Yet, Jiaang Lin reconsidered. If he relied solely on the Overbearing skill, what purpose would his journey to this world serve?
It was akin to ying a video game where, upon starting, he was already the most powerful yer, capable of vanquishing any foe with a single strike. Where was the challenge in that?
Who could truly understand the solitude of invincibility?
Chapter 9
C9 ¨C After She Fainted
?¡±No way,¡± Jiaang Lin decided in an instant after a moment of contemtion.
He resolved to seal his domineering skill. And the Cloud shing Palm? He would use it sparingly, if at all. Concealing his true power was essential.
?A crafty smirk crept across Jiaang Lin¡¯s face as he pondered his strategy. That would certainly make him appear cooler.
?Yet, Jiaang Lin had no desire to end the lives of the trio, especially since he had inadvertently seen her unclothed. He had a bit of a soft spot for the opposite sex.
Death could be avoided, but punishment was inescapable!
His gaze settled on Zhou Qin. He inadvertently swallowed the saliva that had gathered at the corner of his mouth, shook his head slightly, and reached out towards her.
After patting her down, he remarked, ¡°You¡¯re a sect disciple, aren¡¯t you? How can you not possess a single treasure?¡±
The more Jiaang Lin thought about the situation, the more irritated he became.
A spatial fluctuation was detected on the trio. Please examine their right index fingers.
?¡±Spatial magic tool?¡± Jiaang Lin mused, then smacked his forehead, eximing, ¡°Of course! They must have something like a Storage Ring! How did that slip my mind?¡±
Looking at their fingers, he immediately spotted three rings.
¡°Got them!¡±
?Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes widened as he removed the rings from their fingers and examined them closely. Zu Nan and Sunn Tang¡¯s rings were quite in. Zhou Qin¡¯s, however, was adorned with a gem that seemed quite valuable.
[Spiritual imprint detected on the Storage Ring. Would you like to erase it?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
He didn¡¯t hesitate.
¡°Erase!¡±
At the sound of hismand, three faint pops emanated from the Storage Rings, signaling that Jiaang Lin could now freely explore their contents.
¡°These two guys are broke as can be. These Storage Rings must be the basic issue for ordinary disciples, with such limited storage space,¡± Jiaang Lin grumbled as he tossed aside the rings belonging to the two men, clutching their meager pair of silver coins. He then turned his attention to Zhou Qin¡¯s Storage Ring.
?Jiaang Lin was taken aback by the vast space inside the Storage Ring!
The Storage Ring belonging to Zhou Qin boasted a space more than tenfoldrger than those of two ordinary disciples.
And it was nearly filled to the brim with items!
Dozens of crystals in a rainbow of hues, over ten bottles of medicine pills, a hundred or so gold coins, and predominantly, Zhou Qin¡¯s clothing!
Upon closer inspection, Jiaang Lin found two cultivation techniques and a waist tag.
Examining the waist tag, he saw fourrge characters emzoned on it: Thunder Sword Sect!
Beneath those characters, in the bottom right corner, was the inscription: Personal Disciple Zhou Qin!
¡°So, it¡¯s the Thunder Sword Sect they belong to!¡±
Jiaang Lin was about to casually discard the waist tag when he noticed its shimmering golden light. Realizing the tag was made of no ordinary material, he thought about erasing the inscription and selling it for a tidy sum.
A sly grin spread across Jiaang Lin¡¯s face.
Chapter 10
C10 ¨C Her Master Appeared
As Jiaang Lin reveled in his triumph, atop a distant mountain outside the me Beast in, within the halls of a grand sect, an elderly woman¡¯s face suddenly contorted with rm. She nced at the waist tag on her person, and in that moment, a formidable aura erupted from her!
¡°Who dares? Who has erased the spiritual mark I left on Xia¡¯er¡¯s Storage Ring?!¡±
Without hesitation, the old woman mounted her flying sword and soared toward the me Beast in.
On the me Beast in, Jiaang Lin surveyed the three fallen figures with a sense of satisfaction. He deftly picked up Zhou Qin¡¯s treasured sword and with swift precision, dispatched Zu Nan and Sunn Tang.
For defeating a Level 2 Cultivator, he gained 2 experience points.
For defeating another Level 2 Cultivator, he gained an additional 2 experience points.
Total experience: 15 points.
Revenge was imperative for Jiaang Lin. He had no prior quarrel with them, yet they had goaded Zhou Qin into attempting his life¡ªa transgression he could not overlook.
Besides, in this unfamiliar world, Jiaang Lin harbored no guilt over taking lives.
After all, their demise had granted him valuable experience¡ªwhy would he object?
As for Zhou Qin, Jiaang Lin had no intention of taking a woman¡¯s life.
He turned to leave, but in a sh, his Passive Sensory Skill activated. A premonition of danger surged toward him. Realizing the Thunder Sword Sect might be on his trail, Jiaang Lin wasted no time and bolted into the distance. Suddenly, a daunting ck shadow loomed on the horizon, its presence dwarfing Zhou Qin¡¯s by leagues.
Jiaang Lin¡¯s heart skipped a beat at the sight. He unleashed his sprinting skill and in an instant, he was a kilometer away.
The shadow, arriving after Jiaang Lin¡¯s departure, stood beside Zhou Qin. Noticing the two lifeless bodies, her expression darkened. She checked Zhou Qin¡¯s breath and, finding her alive, let out a relieved sigh.
Jiaang Lin didn¡¯t stop his flight, but he couldn¡¯t help casting a wary nce back. Seeing the shadow hadn¡¯t pursued, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Congrattions to the host for mastering the skill: Watch!
Watch: At maximum level, you can discern the tiniest details of insects and trees within a one-kilometer radius.
Watch: Current level is 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?
Yes.
No.
¡°Another skill awakened?!¡±
Jiaang Lin was thrilled to awaken a skill with just a nce and immediately upgraded it to maximum level!
He had decided that the more supportive skills he had, the better.
¡°Yes!¡±
Watch was now at maximum level, skill level: 10/10.
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin¡¯s vision transformed dramatically. He could now see the intricate patterns on leaves, which delighted him immensely.
With this divine technique, he could potentially observe every fairy and princess!
The thought made Jiaang Lin smirk mischievously.
While lost in his daydreams, a frenzied shriek erupted behind him.
¡°Despicable thief! How dare you harm my disciple! I swear I¡¯ll tear you to shreds!¡±
The voice was seething with fury, sending shivers down Jiaang Lin¡¯s spine and jolting him back to reality.
Without hesitation, Jiaang Lin sprinted off, choosing a direction at random to make his desperate escape.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally emerged from the me Beast in and spotted a vige, which calmed his nerves. ¡°Now, that person won¡¯t be able to find me, right?¡±
But as he spoke, a wave of dizziness overcame Jiaang Lin, and he copsed, unconscious.
Chapter 11
C11 ¨C Beauty
After an indeterminate amount of time, Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes fluttered open, and he jolted upright. To his astonishment, he found himself lying in a spartan cabin.
The cabin was modest, furnished with only a table, two stools, and a bed, its walls a in green brick. In such a setting, Jiaang Lin struggled to gather his thoughts.
¡°What¡¯s happening? I remember passing out. Could someone have rescued me?¡±
As he tried to rise, Jiaang Lin felt unsteady, his feet floating off the ground and his hands devoid of strength.
¡°Could it be that a fox demon drained all my Yang energy?!¡± he eximed, eyes wide with panic.
?Thankfully, his clothes were undisturbed, neatly in ce, which brought him some relief.
Just then, the door burst open, and someone stepped inside. Jiaang Lin looked up, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets in shock.
Before him stood a woman whose presence was asmanding as the ocean¡¯s waves. She wore a white dress, her skin pale as snow, exuding a beauty that seemed otherworldly.
If beauty had the power to kill, this woman could effortlessly bring the world to its knees.
Jiaang Lin had neverid eyes on such a stunning woman; not even the most gorgeous celebrities from his past life could hold a candle to her.
Her eyes and brows radiated an irresistible charm, captivating anyone who nced her way, leaving them utterly enchanted.
¡°She is the epitome of a breathtaking beauty,¡± Jiaang Lin marveled silently.
?¡±Are you awake?¡± she asked, her voice melodious and soothing, like the sweet song of a warbler, washing away any trace of distress.
?In her presence, Jiaang Lin found himself at a loss for words.
Congrattions, host. You have mastered the skill: psychic resistance!
[Psychic Resistance: When cultivated to greatpletion, it can withstand the influence of any psychic power!]
[Psychic Resistance: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
¡°Psychic resistance?¡±
Jiaang Lin was initially taken aback, but then he felt a sudden rity in his mind. When he looked at the woman again, he found her stunning, but the overwhelming infatuation he initially felt was gone!
¡°Could this woman possess the art of enchantment? Is that why I¡¯ve gained psychic resistance?¡± Jiaang Lin spected.
¡°Yes!¡±
[Your Psychic Resistance has reached maximum level. Current skill level: 10/10.]
Jiaang Lin thought to himself, and in that moment, he was no longer swayed by the woman¡¯s beauty!
Jiaang Lin distinctly noticed a flicker of surprise in the woman¡¯s eyes after he received the notification.
¡°He¡¯s not influenced by you?¡±
An elderly man suddenly materialized behind the woman. Observing the lucidity in Jiaang Lin¡¯s gaze, he too showed a hint of astonishment and eximed.
Jiaang Lin furrowed his brow and asked, ¡°Where is this ce? And who are you?¡±
The woman detected a note of wariness in Jiaang Lin¡¯s voice. She squinted her eyes and responded, ¡°You¡¯re in the City God Temple. I¡¯m a fox demon here, preying on your Yang energy!¡±
With those words, she shed a malevolent smile, her eyes lingering on Jiaang Lin¡¯s lower body, making him stiffen.
¡°Enough with the nonsense. Go prepare some food, and after this gentleman has eaten, send him on his way.¡±
The old man spoke and then departed without waiting for a response, as if he had many pressing matters to attend to.
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin and the woman were left facing each other in silence.
Chapter 12
C12 ¨C North Mountain Vige
¡°Thank you for saving my life, beautifuldy!¡± Jiaang Lin managed to stand, despite his weakened state.
¡°Beautifuldy?¡± The woman chuckled behind her hand. ¡°My name is Qiu Xiya, but you can call me Sister Xiao Wu!¡±
¡°Sister Xiao Wu, my mother always said that even the smallest kindness should be repaid with great generosity. So, should I propose marriage to you as thanks?¡±
Jiaang Lin was utterly serious as he spoke, as if he truly meant to express his gratitude.
If it weren¡¯t for the oddity of his statement, Qiu Xiya might have believed Jiaang Lin was sincere in his offer!
Qiu Xiya burst intoughter and said, ¡°You¡¯re quite the character, aren¡¯t you? You¡¯re also the first person in North Mountain Vige to ever speak to me this way!¡±
¡°North Mountain Vige?¡±
Jiaang Lin furrowed his brow in thought. He did recall glimpsing a vige before passing out, and the map etched in his mind indeed had a mark for such a vige.
But the mark was so insignificant it was almost negligible, the smallest spot within the entirety of Cloud City!
¡°So, there¡¯s a vige here,¡± Jiaang Lin realized aloud.
¡°Exactly. North Mountain Vige is a secluded little ce. You¡¯re lucky to have found it!¡± Qiu Xiya boasted with a grin that suggested he had struck gold. ¡°Not just anyone can stumble upon North Mountain Vige. If I hadn¡¯t been returning from a bath in the river and found you, you¡¯d be inside a demonic beast¡¯s belly by now! Aren¡¯t you going to thank me properly?¡±
Qiu Xiya stood with her hands on her hips, smiling in anticipation of Jiaang Lin¡¯s gratitude. But Jiaang Lin, scratching his cheek awkwardly, asked, ¡°Sister Xiao Wu, did you just refer to yourself as ¡®Grandmother¡¯?¡±
Hearing this, Qiu Xiya¡¯s mood flipped, and she pped Jiaang Lin¡¯s arm, retorting, ¡°Ie from a respectable family; why would I say such a thing?¡±
As Jiaang Lin clutched his chest, he caught sight of Qiu Xiya¡¯s flushed face and was certain she had indeed slipped up.
Just then, Jiaang Lin¡¯s stomach growled loudly, betraying his immense hunger. He felt embarrassed, but Qiu Xiya simplyughed and said, ¡°Hold on a moment. I¡¯ll go and get you something to eat.¡±
After speaking, Qiu Xiya left the room.
Not long after, she returned with several robust young men in tow, carrying seven or eight tes brimming with food and vegetables.
Yet these young men wouldn¡¯t even lift their eyes. They fixated on the ground as if they might find coins there.
After setting down the meal, they quickly exited, clearly intimidated by Qiu Xiya.
¡°Look at you all. Do you really think I¡¯m going to eat you? Take a look at him.¡±
Qiu Xiya¡¯s lips curled into a captivating smile. She nced at Jiaang Lin flirtatiously and, perhaps unintentionally, licked her lips.
Her soft, glistening tongue glided over her perfectly red lips, leaving them glistening. Jiaang Lin was captivated, his mouth dry and his tongue thirsty, the pangs of hunger momentarily forgotten.
He swallowed hard, thinking to himself that she was indeed a beauty like no other.
¡°I used to think you preferred men. Turns out you¡¯re a bit of a rascal too!¡±
Qiu Xiya¡¯sughter filled the room. Jiaang Lin, ravenous, made no further ado. He grabbed a steamed bun and took a big bite. Between chews, he mumbled, ¡°Everyone is drawn to beauty. Who could be the exception?¡±
Chapter 13
C13 ¨C Green Mountain Sect
¡°Everyone has a love for beauty; who could be the exception?¡±
Jiaang Lin¡¯s statement momentarily baffled Qiu Xiya, but she quickly burst intoughter, remarking, ¡°You¡¯re quite the character¡ªfar more entertaining than these stiff folks!¡±
As she spoke, Qiu Xiya spat disdainfully, as if she had nothing but contempt for the vigers.
Qiu Xiya dashed out the door, calling over her shoulder, ¡°You¡¯re too intriguing for me to just let you go! I¡¯m going to negotiate with the elders!¡±
She vanished like a breeze. Jiaang Lin, holding a steamed bun, mused aloud, ¡°You¡¯re off to discuss things without even knowing if I want to stay?¡±
But then he chuckled, adding, ¡°Though, with a beauty like you around, I¡¯d be reluctant to leave.¡±
?Heughed once more, but theughter quickly turned into a violent coughing fit, and he choked.
As Jiaang Lin coughed, the chopsticks he was holding flew from his grasp and ttered to the ground.
Congrattions, host, you¡¯ve mastered a new skill: Throwing!
Throwing: When perfected to greatpletion, it can pierce a Martial Master¡¯s body from a kilometer away with pinpoint uracy!
Throwing: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?
Yes.
No.
This was a Martial Master who had surpassed two realms! Mastering the Throwing technique to greatpletion meant he could precisely prate a Martial Master¡¯s body, effectively allowing him to execute surprise assassinations with a maximum level Throwing technique¡ªa superb skill for long-range elimination!
?¡±Yes!¡±
The Throwing skill was now at maximum level, with a current skill level of 10/10.
After his coughing subsided, Jiaang Lin felt an incredible agility in his wrist. Picking up the chopsticks, they felt like an extension of his own body, easily controlled, and he was filled with a newfound confidence in his ability to hit any target urately.
Jiaang Lin smiled, the corners of his mouth lifting as the vors of his meal seemed to intensify with each bite.
At that moment, a sudden uproar erupted from the outskirts of the vige. Jiaang Lin could faintly make out the vigers¡¯ cries of rm!
The meal on the table had been finished, and Jiaang Lin¡¯s curiosity was piqued. Furthermore, he could hear cries of pain drifting from outside, causing his brow to furrow with concern.
¡°Could it be that the olddy has found me?¡±
Jiaang Lin stepped out the door and saw a crowd of vigers gathered at the vige entrance. He hurried over to join them.
¡°Hey! I¡¯ve already told you time and again that the Green Mountain Sect has suffered many losses protecting your vige from demonic beasts and bandits. And all you offer in return each month is this meager tribute. Do you think the Green Mountain Sect is begging for scraps?¡±
As Jiaang Lin reached the vige entrance, he witnessed a richly dressed young man pointing at an elder and berating him loudly.
Surrounding the young man were four other youths, making a group of three men and two women, all exuding an air of superiority. They wore matching outfits, with the only difference being that the young women¡¯s attire included skirts.
The mention of the Green Mountain Sect triggered a mental image of the Cloud City map in Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind, and he quickly grasped the significance of the sect.
The Green Mountain Sect was the most prominent sect near North Mountain Vige, yet it was merely one of the smaller sects within the Thunder Sword Sect¡¯s domain. Nevertheless, to the people of these humble viges, even a single disciple from the Green Mountain Sect was viewed as a celestial being gracing the earth.

Chapter 14
C14 ¨C Qi Yuan
The elderly man, clearly the vige chief of North Mountain Vige, was being steadied by Qiu Xiya, his body trembling slightly. Qiu Xiya¡¯s face was a mask of frosty anger.
The vige chief advanced a couple of steps and addressed the domineering young man with a shaky voice, ¡°Immortal Master, our vige has a mere hundred souls. Twenty percent are children, and forty percent are the elderly, the infirm, and women. Only about thirty able-bodied adults can hunt in the mountains. We subsist on a few dozen acres of farnd and earn our keep by selling animal hides. The beast bones are bartered from the Immortal Sect miles away. After covering our vige¡¯s expenses, this is all we have left.¡±
His words were an honest reflection of their plight. The vigers scrimped and saved every month, surrendering all their money and even their food to the Green Mountain Sect. Now, with theirst resources on the line, the Sect still deemed their contributions insufficient. What were they to do?
?¡±Old fool, you dare to argue?¡± the young man bellowed, his eyes shing. Suddenly, an intimidating aura erupted from him, and a gust of wind whipped around, nearly knocking the frail vige chief off his feet.
Had it not been for Qiu Xiya¡¯s support, the vige chief might have met his end right there.
It was then that Jiaang Lin¡¯s gaze fell upon Qiu Xiya, who had donned a veil that obscured her alluring features, leaving only a vague impression of her beauty beneath the fabric. Yet, this only served to enhance her enigmatic allure.
?The Green Mountain Sect disciple sneered at the vige chief, ¡°Old man, our Sect has long shielded the viges within a hundred miles from demonic beast invasions. Consider the heavy toll it¡¯s taken on us, particrly with your vige being so close to the me Beast in. Our disciples have suffered greatly. Is it so wrong to ask for a modest protection fee?¡±
?¡±Yes, the Immortal Master speaks the truth!¡± the vige chief managed to say, nearlying undone by the young man¡¯s intimidating presence. Behind him, the vigers seethed with indignation, barely resisting the urge to surge forward in protest.
Perhaps they were intimidated by the young man¡¯s strength, which left everyone seething with anger yet too fearful to speak up.
The four individuals standing behind the youth watched the vigers with derisive sneers, their faces brimming with mockery.
¡°Since you acknowledge my point, why haven¡¯t you offered up more money and provisions?¡±
The youth¡¯s fierce re caused the Vige Chief to step back, his voice quivering as he said, ¡°Immortal Master, truly, this is the utmost North Mountain Vige can muster!¡±
¡°You old fool, you truly have no sense of fear!¡±
Annoyance was written all over the youth¡¯s face as he openly berated the elder.
¡°It appears a lesson is in order, or you won¡¯t speak the truth,¡± he said, while the gazes of hispanions grew even colder. One of the female cultivators remarked, ¡°Senior Brother Qi Yuan, teach them a lesson. Do they really think we¡¯re so easily dismissed?¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s eyes narrowed, a chilling glint emerging from within.
Their true motive was to collect protection fees under the guise of seeking to amass a private fortune, which they intended to exchange for cultivation items upon returning to their sect. They were tasked with overseeing North Mountain Vige and had hoped to extract a substantial amount of wealth from it. However, the vige¡¯s contributions fell short of their expectations, leaving them without any significant gain and feeling dissatisfied. Therefore, they were determined to extract more from the vige before their return to the Green Mountain Sect.

C15 ¨C Those Who Don¡¯t Know How to Respect the Elderly Deserve to Die!
¡°You¡¯ve gone too far, old man!¡±
Qi Yuan raised his hand, his palm cutting through the air like a knife, capable of slicing through metal itself!
The sheer force of his attack turned the old vige chief¡¯s face deathly pale, as if he were on the brink of copse. Without Qiu Xiya¡¯s support, he surely would have crumpled to the ground.
Just then, Qiu Xiya felt a breeze and saw a figure step in front of her and the vige chief.
¡°Those whock respect for their elders deserve to die!¡±
To the astonishment of Qiu Xiya and the vige chief, Jiaang Lin stood before them, intercepting Qi Yuan¡¯s descending hand.
¡°Jiaang Lin?!¡±
Qiu Xiya stared at Jiaang Lin, her eyes wide with disbelief. She had never imagined that Jiaang Lin was a martial cultivator!
Behind Qi Yuan, the other four onlookers were equally shocked.
¡°How is this possible? He actually blocked Senior Brother Qi Yuan¡¯s attack?!¡±
Qi Yuan himself was taken aback.
He had never expected to encounter a martial cultivator in such a remote vige.
But then, a cold smirk crossed his face.
With a mere flick, Jiaang Lin felt a powerful force recoil through his arm, a clear testament to Qi Yuan¡¯s formidable strength.
Jiaang Lin quickly assessed the situation.
¡°I was curious why your vige dared to offer so little. It turns out you have a worthless cultivator on your side!¡±
Qi Yuan looked at Jiaang Lin with a sneer. ¡°But do you really think your meager abilities can protect them? Hmph!¡±
¡°Today, if you don¡¯t surrender a substantial tribute, I will y this Level 1 Martial Cultivator. Then, I¡¯ll let the Fire Wolves feast on everyone in your vige!¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s threat sent shivers down the spines of all the vigers, their minds shing back to the terrifying attacks by the Fire Wolves.
The vige chief, on the verge of kneeling, pleaded with a desperate look, ¡°Immortal Master! This man was only rescued by us today; he has no ties to our vige. Besides, we have nothing left to offer!¡±
?Qi Yuan regarded the vige chief with an icy stare, havingpletely run out of patience. Jiaang Lin¡¯s words had only served to infuriate him further. As a disciple of the Green Mountain Sect, he couldn¡¯t believe that an ordinary person would dare to ignore hismands, let alone be reprimanded by someone at the mere level of Martial Cultivator Level 1. Rage boiled within him at the thought.
¡°Well then, let¡¯s see if the Green Mountain Sect wille to your defense!¡± Qi Yuan sneered. ¡°I¡¯ve heard there¡¯s been a minor beast tide in the me Beast in, and it¡¯s heading this way. You¡¯d best be on your guard.¡±
With that, Qi Yuan turned to Jiaang Lin, his voice dripping with contempt. ¡°Martial Cultivator Level 1, you¡¯re nothing but trash. You have the audacity to lecture me? Today, I¡¯ll put you in your ce.¡±
No sooner had Qi Yuan finished speaking than Jiaang Lin¡¯s demeanor grew icy. Amanding presence radiated from him, instilling a deep sense of dread in all who were present.
¡°Remind me, who did you say you were?¡± Jiaang Lin asked.
Cowering beneath Jiaang Lin¡¯s imposing aura, Qi Yuan¡¯s courage faltered. As he looked up into Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes, now brimming with murderous intent, he stumbled backward, his legs turning to jelly.

Chapter 16
C16 ¨C I will Protect the North Mountain Vige
Just now, Jiaang Lin had intended to impress Qiu Xiya, hoping to win her affection. But Qi Yuan¡¯sment had irked him immensely!
¡°Father? Who do you think you are, calling yourself someone¡¯s father?¡±
Having arrived in this world, Jiaang Lin was uncertain about his parents¡¯ fate in the other world. The term ¡®parents¡¯ held great significance for him, and here was Qi Yuan, audaciously iming to be his father. How could Jiaang Lin not seethe with anger?
The sheer force of Jiaang Lin¡¯s aura, unleashed in a sudden surge, made Qi Yuan and the others¡¯ knees buckle with fear. Jiaang Lin¡¯s formidable presence, honed to the maximum level of Level 10, could knock out even a Martial Master. But he had intentionally restrained the full impact of his power. Otherwise, a mere nce from him could have left Qi Yuan and his fellow junior cultivators utterly stupefied!
Qi Yuan¡¯s bold im to fatherhood in front of Jiaang Lin was a challenge he wouldn¡¯t let slide easily.
¡°How does this kid possess such an immense aura?!¡±
Qi Yuan was taken aback by Jiaang Lin¡¯smanding presence, something he had only ever felt from the sect¡¯s elders.
Yet, Qi Yuan quickly reassured himself. The cultivator before him was merely trash at Martial Cultivator Level 1. Why should he fear someone whose power was four levels beneath his own?
With his confidence restored, Qi Yuan¡¯s sneer returned, and he looked at Jiaang Lin with utter contempt.
¡°You¡¯re nothing but trash. So what if I im to be your father right to your face? What could you possibly do to me?¡±
Qi Yuan reached out, aiming to strike Jiaang Lin¡¯s face. The smile on Jiaang Lin¡¯s face slowly faded, reced by a glint of murderous intent in his eyes.
¡°Jiaang Lin¡¡±
In that tense moment, Qiu Xiya cast a concerned nce at Jiaang Lin and called out his name.
Jiaang Lin swiftly turned, his expression softening from one of lethal intent to a radiant smile, as he reassured her, ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m here to protect North Mountain Vige!¡±
When Jiaang Lin spoke, all the vigers present were rooted to the spot, their hearts swelling with emotion.
Qiu Xiya felt the same, and within her, she began to see Jiaang Lin in a new, grander light. His silhouette seemed to embody reliability itself.
¡°Humph! You think you can protect North Mountain Vige? Who do you think you are?¡±
Qi Yuan shattered the moment with his sneer. ¡°You still aspire to protect North Mountain Vige? Let me tell you, you won¡¯t get the chance! Today, I¡¯ll send you off to guard the fabled hell!¡±
¡°Can you do it?¡± Jiaang Lin looked at Qi Yuan with a dismissive nce, which turned Qi Yuan¡¯s expression frosty.
A disciple of the Green Mountain Sect, Qi Yuan¡¯s prowess had reached Martial Cultivator Level 5. And here was Jiaang Lin, merely at Martial Cultivator Level 1, daring to scorn him. Qi Yuan had never encountered such audacity in the entire sect!
Martial Cultivator Level 1 was essentially the lowest tier within the Green Mountain Sect, particrly among martial cultivators of Qi Yuan¡¯s age. Jiaang Lin was at the very bottom of the bottom tier, an utter fool with abysmal cultivation talent.
Qi Yuan, a prodigy, had advanced to Martial Cultivator Level 5 by the age of eighteen, a well-known genius within the sect.
Yet now, Qi Yuan felt a fire of rage burning within him, fury zing from his eyes.
To be belittled by a fool his own age¡ªhow could he stand for it?
With a chilling gaze, Qi Yuan addressed Jiaang Lin, ¡°Humph! You truly are oblivious to the brink of death! You think that just because you managed to withstand my palm strike earlier, you have the right to be insolent before me?¡±

Chapter 17
C17 ¨C Obtaining Another Skill
He was a disciple of the Green Mountain Sect, with his cultivation having reached Martial Cultivator Level 5. In contrast, Jiaang Lin stood before him at a mere Martial Cultivator Level 1, yet he dared to scorn him. Qi Yuan had never encountered such audacity within the entirety of the Green Mountain Sect!
Despite this, Qi Yuan felt a fire zing within his chest, his rage spewing forth from his eyes. How could he possibly stand for this?
?With an icy re, Qi Yuan addressed Jiaang Lin, ¡°You foolhardy cur! Do you really think you have the audacity to be insolent before me?¡±
¡°Let me make this clear: what you¡¯ve seen was merely the effort I exert on themon rabble. To me, you¡¯re nothing more than a slightly stronger version of the same,¡± Qi Yuan proimed, intent on making Jiaang Lin understand the vast gulf between their strengths. To Qi Yuan, Jiaang Lin was nothing more than an insignificant ant, easily crushed between two fingers.
Qi Yuan¡¯s sneer grew as his aura intensified, ready to strike at a moment¡¯s notice. He had bolstered his presence to underscore his point, eager to witness the fear he expected to bloom on Jiaang Lin¡¯s face upon feeling the overwhelming force of his aura.
However, Jiaang Lin¡¯s reaction¡ªorck thereof¡ªwas a bitter disappointment. Not a hint of fear marred Jiaang Lin¡¯s countenance; he was the picture of nonchnce, as though Qi Yuan posed no threat whatsoever.
In Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes, Qi Yuan could detect only deep scorn and mockery, not the slightest trace of fear.
?¡±What on earth gives you, a piece of trash, the gall to be so brazen before me?¡± Qi Yuan seethed. In that instant, fierce mes erupted around his fist, transforming it into a fiery projectile that hurtled towards Jiaang Lin.
The vigers gasped at the sight of Qi Yuan¡¯s fiery arm. Being mere mortals, they couldn¡¯t fathom how a man could be engulfed in mes without harm¡ªsurely, this was the work of an immortal!
?¡±Qi Yuan truly is a celestial being!¡± they murmured among themselves, their eyes wide with awe and fear, while the vige chief nearly fainted from shock.
Amidst themotion, only Qiu Xiya watched Jiaang Lin¡¯s silhouette through her veiled eyes, her thoughts a mystery to all.
Suddenly, Qiu Xiya whispered encouragingly, ¡°You¡¯ve got this!¡±
Her voice was enchanting, enveloping listeners as if they were immersed in a warm hot spring.
Upon hearing it, Qi Yuan realized that such a melodious voice existed even in this humble vige. He had already noticed Qiu Xiya, and his nces towards her were both intentional and casual. Her alluring figure captivated him. Though the two junior sisters behind him weren¡¯t unattractive, they paled inparison to the woman before him.
With this thought, a cold smirk yed across Qi Yuan¡¯s lips.
¡°Senior Brother! This woman is quite something. Why don¡¯t we all have some fun with herter?¡±
¡°Yeah, junior sisters. How about we all y togetherter?¡±
¡°Disgusting!¡±
¡°Exactly! Don¡¯t think we¡¯re unaware that after you¡¯ve had your fun with that seductive fox, you¡¯d still favor us!¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s junior brothers and sisters were already fantasizing. Qi Yuan himself let out asciviousugh and coldly said to Jiaang Lin, ¡°After I kill you, we¡¯ll make sure she enjoys herself thoroughly!¡±
¡°What foul talk,¡± Jiaang Lin¡¯s expression darkened as he retorted, ¡°We¡¯ll see if you even get the chance!¡±
Jiaang Lin was now intent on killing. These people were utterly despicable. Their sect was clearly not one of integrity. Today, he would exterminate them all, ridding the people of their menace.
¡°You dare insult me?¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s eyes bulged with anger, ¡°You¡¯re asking for it!¡±
In a sh, Qi Yuan¡¯s fist, aze with ferocious mes, hurtled towards Jiaang Lin with the force of a meteorite.
Jiaang Lin, however, appeared frozen in the face of Qi Yuan¡¯s onught.
¡°This is it! The poor kid¡¯s going to get beaten to death!¡±
¡°Oh no! We saved him, only to lead him to his doom!¡±
¡°Had it not been for us, he wouldn¡¯t have crossed paths with the Immortal Master from the Green Mountain Sect and met such a tragic fate!¡±
The vigers were consumed by guilt, convinced that Jiaang Lin stood no chance against Qi Yuan and that his death was inevitable.
Qi Yuan¡¯s junior brothers and sisters already bore smug smiles.
But just when everyone was sure Jiaang Lin was doomed, he suddenly let out a sneer and dered, ¡°You think you can kill me with such a feeble attack? In your dreams!¡±
Skill activated ¡ª Evade!
In an instant, Jiaang Lin¡¯s silhouette danced before everyone¡¯s eyes, as agile as a serpent. Qi Yuan¡¯s attacks repeatedly missed their mark, with Jiaang Lin deftly avoiding each one!
¡°He actually managed to dodge Senior Brother Qi Yuan¡¯s attacks!¡±
¡°How can this kid dodge an Immortal Master¡¯s attack? Ande out unscathed?¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s fellow disciples and the vigers from North Mountain Vige were all wide-eyed with astonishment, marveling at how Jiaang Lin could survive Qi Yuan¡¯s onught!
Initially taken aback by Jiaang Lin¡¯s agile maneuvers, Qi Yuan quickly recovered, sneering, ¡°You¡¯ve barely dodged my attacks, but can you escape my fists? Can you escape the mes that envelop them?¡±
Upon hearing this, Jiaang Lin nced down to see his chest clothing reduced to ashes by the mes on Qi Yuan¡¯s fist, his skin reddening and beginning to feel a painful burn.
But in a sh, a smile spread across Jiaang Lin¡¯s face!
¡°Ding!¡±
Congrattions, host, for mastering the skill: Fire Resistance!
Fire Resistance: At maximum level, grants 100% immunity to fire attribute derivatives!
Fire Resistance: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to the maximum level?
Yes.
No.
¡°The system is incredibly powerful, providing exactly what I need when I need it!¡±
Jiaang Lin chuckled and affirmed, ¡°Yes!¡±
¡°Ding!¡±
Fire resistance has reached maximum level, with the current skill level at 10/10.
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin felt a refreshing coolness throughout his body. The ambient heat and the scorching intensity of the mes could no longer affect him!
?This meant that Jiaang Lin was now impervious to fire, and Qi Yuan¡¯s attacks could no longer inflict any real damage on him!
But just as Jiaang Lin was about to counterattack, the system beep echoed once more!
Congrattions, host, for mastering the skill: Rapid Healing!
Rapid Healing: At maximum level, capable of instantaneously repairing bodily injuries, even regenerating severed limbs!
[Rapid Healing: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
¡°Divine technique!¡±
Jiaang Lin¡¯s heart trembled with excitement. Now this was a true divine technique!
A severed arm could regenerate. Did this not mean that Jiaang Lin could regenerate indefinitely? How was this any different from being immortal?
¡°Yes! Upgrade to maximum level!¡±
[Ding!]
[Rapid Healing has been upgraded to maximum level. Current skill level: 10/10.]
As the system beep sounded, Jiaang Lin felt a surge of warm energy wrap around his chest, and in an instant, the searing pain vanished without a trace!
Jiaang Lin was ecstatic internally, yet his face remained expressionless as he continued to evade Qi Yuan¡¯s attacks. Qi Yuan¡¯s frustration grew with each miss.
The vigers watched as Jiaang Lin effortlessly dodged Qi Yuan¡¯s assaults. Initially, their eyes sparkled with hope, thinking Jiaang Lin might possess the power to contend with Qi Yuan. However, as time passed and Jiaang Lin merely avoided the blows without counterattacking, their optimism waned, and anxiety set in once again.
Qi Yuan¡¯s patience was gradually eroded by Jiaang Lin¡¯s evasive maneuvers. In a fit of anger, Qi Yuan bellowed, ¡°You coward! You know you¡¯re no match for me, yet you continue to struggle!¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s taunt caused Jiaang Lin¡¯s brow to furrow, and he let out a cold snort. He stopped dodging.
Chapter 18
C18 ¨C Impact Resistance and Pain Resistance
¡°Son! Who else could I be the father of? Of course, it¡¯s the one who obediently stands there¡ªI¡¯m his father!¡±
Qi Yuan had never expected Jiaang Lin to be sopliant. With just a little provocation, Jiaang Lin stopped trying to dodge, much to Qi Yuan¡¯s internal amusement.
Jiaang Lin¡¯s movements were incredibly elusive, like a slippery eel. Qi Yuan thought he had Jiaang Lin within his grasp several times, but each time, Jiaang Lin managed to wriggle free.
Qi Yuan had no choice but to chip away at Jiaang Lin¡¯s speed with indirect me attacks, hoping that his next strike wouldnd.
Thankfully, Jiaang Lin paused after being goaded. Otherwise, the frustration of punching at nothing was so intense that Qi Yuan felt like cursing.
Qi Yuan sneered with a menacingugh, ¡°You can¡¯t escape this time!¡±
¡°Die!¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s hands burst into fierce, leaping mes. The violent and savage fire would have engulfed an ordinary person with a single punch, turning them into a human fireball before reducing them to ashes that scattered in the wind.
Qi Yuan¡¯s fiery punchnded heavily on Jiaang Lin, sending him flying backward as intense pain engulfed him.
Midair, Jiaang Lin coughed up blood, which disturbingly contained fragments of his internal organs.
That single punch had brought Jiaang Lin to death¡¯s door.
[Detected multiple fractures in the host¡¯s internal organs. Activating skill ¡ª Rapid Healing!]
[Recoveryplete!]
As the system¡¯s voice faded, an invisible energy enveloped Jiaang Lin¡¯s chest.
This warm surge of energy instantly eased the pain in Jiaang Lin¡¯s body, erasing all negative sensations from his injuries. Within moments, Jiaang Lin was fully restored.
¡°Rapid Healing is indeed a divine technique!¡±
In that moment, Jiaang Lin marveled inwardly. He had been curious about the effects of Rapid Healing, but now that he had experienced its power, he was determined to avoid injury at all costs.
¡°It¡¯s unbearably painful! It feels like it¡¯s killing me!¡±
Hearing Jiaang Lin¡¯sint, the system¡¯s voice chimed in.
[Congrattions, host, on mastering the skill: Pain Resistance!]
[Pain Resistance: At maximum level, you can endure any level of physical pain!]
[Pain Resistance: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
[Congrattions, host, on mastering the skill: Impact Resistance!]
[Impact Resistance: At maximum level, you can withstand any attack below the Grand Martial Master Stage!]
[Impact Resistance: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?]
[Yes.]
[No.]
¡°Absolutely incredible! You¡¯re like a guardian angel!¡±
Jiaang Lin¡¯s gaze softened as he looked at Qi Yuan. His initial rage had vanished, reced by gratitude for Qi Yuan, who had inadvertently helped him unlock these skills.
Host, you are mistaken. I am your true guardian angel!
Please select yes or no!
¡°A system that gets jealous?¡± Jiaang Lin was taken aback, his lips twitching in disbelief.
¡°Yes!¡±
Pain Resistance has been upgraded to maximum level. Current skill level: 10/10.
Impact Resistance has been upgraded to maximum level. Current skill level: 10/10.
Qi Yuanughed heartily upon seeing Faang Meng still grounded, ¡°You¡¯re such a waste, and yet you¡¯ve wasted my precious time. What a jinx!¡±
After his taunt, Qi Yuan affected an air of superiority, basking in the admiring looks from his junior brothers and sisters and the reverent stares from the vigers, boasting, ¡°I could take you out at any moment!¡±
¡°Senior Brother is so cool!¡±
¡°Absolutely! Senior Brother is bound to be the top disciple under our Master!¡±
¡°That guy overestimated himself, challenging Senior Brother Qi Yuan! Death was his only possible oue!¡±
The vigers, regardless of age or gender, looked on with eyes filled with pity. They even felt responsible for Jiaang Lin¡¯s ¡°death.¡±
¡°We¡¯ve brought this upon the boy!¡±
¡°If we hadn¡¯t saved him, he wouldn¡¯t have feltpelled to defend us, and he wouldn¡¯t have met such a tragic end!¡±
¡°He was still so young!¡±
Some vigers had already begun to cry, longing to check on Jiaang Lin but held back by their fear of Qi Yuan, not daring to make a move.
Qiu Xiya alone sprang into action, dashing toward Jiaang Lin with a look of sheer panic in her eyes.
Yet, upon reaching him, she was taken aback to find Jiaang Lin with eyes wide open, his expression one of intense excitement, not at all like someone who had been injured and sent flying, spewing blood.
Qiu Xiya was baffled. She had clearly seen Jiaang Lin coughing up blood, and among it, fragments of his internal organs¡ªa wound so grave that without immediate medical attention, he would surely die.
But the scene before her defied exnation.
There was Jiaang Lin, lying on the ground as if the person who had been thrown through the air wasn¡¯t him at all.
Was it all an act?
Qiu Xiya wrestled with doubt, but then she dismissed the thought as impossible. No one could feign injury with such convincing detail, not to the extent of vomiting pieces of their own organs.
Could it be¡
¡°Could it be that he possesses some kind of healing medicine?¡± she pondered, her suspicion turning into conviction.
?She reyed the moment she discovered Faang Meng. Hadn¡¯t Jiaang Lin copsed at the entrance of North Mountain Vige after emerging from the me Beast in?
What had Jiaang Lin been doing on the me Beast in?
He must have found something, perhaps even received an inheritance. The healing medicine might have been acquired after that discovery!
Otherwise, Jiaang Lin wouldn¡¯t have dared to confront a martial artist four levels his senior!
With this thought, Qiu Xiya¡¯s belief in her theory solidified.
Approaching Jiaang Lin, she crouched beside him and asked, ¡°Are you alright?¡±
Chapter 19
C19 ¨C How Could You Still be Alive??
Jiaang Lin hadn¡¯t anticipated that Qiu Xiya would rush over to check on him so quickly. He felt a surge of emotion and reassured her, ¡°I¡¯m fine, beautiful. With my strength, how could such a minor attack take me down?¡±
Hearing the robustness in Jiaang Lin¡¯s voice and noting his yful banter, Qiu Xiya realized he was far from being in any real distress.
Feigning anger, Qiu Xiya couldn¡¯t hide the relief flooding her heart.
Observing Qiu Xiya¡¯s allure, Jiaang Lin sprang to his feet, briskly dusting himself off. ¡°Such a feeble attack couldn¡¯t possibly hurt me. It didn¡¯t even scratch my skin!¡± he dered confidently.
With a broad smile, he assured her, ¡°Rest easy. I made a vow to defend North Mountain Vige, and I intend to keep it.¡±
Jiaang Lin then strode toward Qi Yuan, with Qiu Xiya¡¯s shimmering gaze following his every move.
Behind him, Qiu Xiya¡¯s eyes sparkled mysteriously, her thoughts inscrutable.
?Qi Yuan watched in disbelief as Jiaang Lin approached. ¡°Wasn¡¯t Jiaang Lin just sent flying? How is he standing again?¡± he thought, his teeth clenched in shock.
Qi Yuan was astounded. He was certain his attack had hit Jiaang Lin squarely, and he knew the force behind his punch. It was enough to kill a bull, turning its organs to mush. Yet, Jiaang Lin had withstood that blow, spitting out just a mouthful of blood and still daring to advance toward him?
Jiaang Lin¡¯s voice had boomed loud and clear, reaching everyone¡¯s ears, proiming Qi Yuan¡¯s attack to be powerless, not even capable of breaking his skin.
?This was an affront Qi Yuan couldn¡¯t stand. As a disciple of the Green Mountain Sect and a pupil of an elder, his prowess was renowned throughout the sect. Aside from the elite prodigies, he was ranked in the top ten, which was precisely why he had been tasked with collecting resources from all the viges.
Qi Yuan¡¯s gaze was icy. He couldn¡¯t fathom why Jiaang Lin hadn¡¯t perished under his strike, a failure that was a severe blow to his pride.
Should word get out that he couldn¡¯t even dispatch a mere Martial Cultivator Level 1, how would Qi Yuan ever hold his head up in the Green Mountain Sect?
?The thought of his master learning of this was even more dreadful. His master ced great value on reputation, and if the news spread, the ridicule from other elders would be unbearable. Qi Yuan could very well find himself cast out of the sect in a fit of his master¡¯s rage, his ess to vital cultivation resources severed.
?This was a scenario Qi Yuan was desperate to avoid.
In a sh, his eyes zed red, and the mes along his arms grew wilder, his aura surging dramatically.
¡°My God, Senior Brother has resorted to his ace move, the me Burst Fist!¡±
¡°That¡¯s a top-tier Yellow Level martial technique, capable of splitting boulders! If that punch hits an ordinary person, they¡¯d be blown to bits, ultimately reduced to ashes by the mes!¡±
¡°I can¡¯t believe Senior Brother is using the me Burst Fist on a mere Level 1 Martial Cultivator! He must be truly enraged!¡±
At that moment, all the vigers watched Qi Yuan¡¯s frenzied form, their legs shaking with the palpable threat of death. They all feared for Jiaang Lin¡¯s life against Qi Yuan¡¯s impending onught.
¡°Jiaang Lin, prepare to die!¡±
Qi Yuan¡¯s energy peaked, his presence climbing with each passing second, and then he hurled his fist toward Jiaang Lin.
In that split second, a slight smile yed on Jiaang Lin¡¯s lips, his confidence unshaken.
He stood his ground, relying on his skills in pain and impact resistance, convinced he could endure the blow.
As Qi Yuan¡¯s fist, aze with fierce mes, descended with crushing force, Jiaang Lin remained unfazed, not even a furrow creasing his brow. His serene demeanor left everyone around him in awe.
¡°This young man remains unfazed even in the face of an Immortal Master¡¯s divine power. Hisposure is truly remarkable¡ªhe¡¯s an extraordinary individual!¡±
Despite saying this, all the vigers shut their eyes, unable to witness the gruesome scene of Jiaang Lin being beaten to death by Qi Yuan.
In that moment, as every viger¡¯s eyes were closed, only Qiu Xiya kept her beautiful eyes wide open, intently watching Jiaang Lin.
At the very instant Qi Yuan¡¯s fist connected with Jiaang Lin¡¯s chest, Qiu Xiya¡¯s eyes shockingly widened in disbelief!
All the vigers heard was a dull thud. In their minds, they had already envisioned Jiaang Lin spewing blood, his body being propelled backward like a bloodied arrow.
In that moment, a violent spasm seized the hearts of all the vigers.
¡°How can Jiaang Lin still be alive?¡±
None of the vigers dared to look, but then they were startled by an astonished cry that echoed in their ears. Opening their eyes, they saw Qi Yuan¡¯s junior brothers and sisters from the Green Mountain Sect staring agape in one direction.
They witnessed Qi Yuan¡¯s fist mming into Jiaang Lin¡¯s chest!
Yet there stood Jiaang Lin, a cold smirk ying on his lips as he looked down at Qi Yuan, who was a few centimeters shorter. His gaze was filled with mockery.
¡°How could you possibly still be alive?!¡±
Qi Yuan murmured to himself.
This was Qi Yuan¡¯s most powerful technique, the me Burst Fist, which had earned him a formidable reputation within the Green Mountain Sect. But now, as it hit Jiaang Lin, it seemed as though nothing had happened¡ªJiaang Lin appearedpletely unscathed!
Chapter 20
C20 ¨C Jiaang Lin¡¯s Aura
He witnessed firsthand the impact of the me Burst Fist on Jiaang Lin¡¯s body, yet Jiaang Lin remained unshaken. The rustling of his clothes in the air testified to the strength of Qi Yuan¡¯s attack.
¡°Hehe¡ I told you, your attacks are like tickles to me. They¡¯re utterly incapable of inflicting even the slightest harm, not even a scratch on my skin,¡± Jiaang Lin taunted with a smirk as he eyed the astonished Qi Yuan.
?Then, without missing a beat, Jiaang Lin dered, ¡°Now, it¡¯s my turn to strike!¡±
In an instant, Jiaang Lin¡¯s aura surged, quickly reaching an awe-inspiring peak.
Everyone could sense the wild, almost apocalyptic force emanating from Jiaang Lin.
Overwhelmed by this power, Qi Yuan¡¯s legs shook uncontrobly, and a wave of helplessness and insignificance washed over him, draining him of the courage to even meet Jiaang Lin¡¯s gaze.
Jiaang Lin fixed his eyes on Qi Yuan, his hand slowly rising to his chest, transforming into a colossal force that seemed to overshadow the sky. To everyone present, it appeared as though this hand could shatter the heavens and reshape the earth.
The vigers stood in stunned silence.
They could scarcely believe that Jiaang Lin, whom they feared might fall to Qi Yuan, was now exuding a fearsome presence thatmanded respect and fear.
In that moment, Qi Yuan¡¯s realization dawned¡ªhe understood the full extent of Jiaang Lin¡¯s terrifying power, a power that rivaled even that of his own master.
?¡±Go! Get out of here now!¡±
Qi Yuan spun on his heel, fleeing at breakneck speed, shouting for his fellow disciples to follow.
Prompted by Qi Yuan¡¯s warning, they too sprang into action, each executing their swiftest escape techniques.
All the while, the vigers¡¯ gazes followed Jiaang Lin, their eyes filled with deep admiration.
Jiaang Lin clearly had no intention of letting the five escape. With a cold smirk, he watched them flee into the distance, his eyes sparkling with intensity.
Skill¡ Scout!
Jiaang Lin¡¯s vision extended over a thousand meters, making Qi Yuan and hispanions appear as if they were right before his eyes, crystal clear.
In a sh, Jiaang Lin¡¯s presence soared to its zenith, and with a gentle push of his palm towards the direction of the fleeing group, something extraordinary happened.
The vigers sensed an invisible, formidable force emanating from Jiaang Lin¡¯s hand, pursuing Qi Yuan and the others as they fled.
Qi Yuan and his group were running for their lives, covering over a kilometer in record time. Qi Yuan stopped, a sneer on his face, and burst into mockingughter.
¡°Hahaha¡ No matter how strong you are, you can¡¯t kill me!¡±
With a face twisted by hatred, Qi Yuan red toward North Mountain Vige, where Jiaang Lin was, and spat out his words venomously, ¡°I¡¯ll remember this day¡¯s humiliation. When I return to my sect and inform my master, I¡¯ll use the stubborn vigers of North Mountain Vige of withholding supplies, demanding my master¡¯s intervention. Then, I¡¯ll ask him to y you, dismember you, and draw every tendon from your body!¡±
¡°Yes, Senior Brother Qi Yuan, we¡¯ll go back and bring our master! He will never let this insult stand!¡±
Chapter 21
C21 ¨C Novice Gift Pack
In North Mountain Vige, Jiaang Lin observed Qi Yuan and hispanions engaged in an incessant conversation, their faces adorned with mocking smiles. Their gazes were fixed in his direction, and Jiaang Lin instantly knew they were plotting something sinister. He responded with a coldugh of his own.
Ding!
Congrattions, host, for mastering the skill: Ear of the Zephyr.
Ear of the Zephyr: When upgraded to maximum level, you can hear the chirping of insects and mosquitoes within a thousand-mile radius. Every sound within that distance is within your hearing range.
Ear of the Zephyr: Current level: 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?
Yes.
No.
With the Ear of the Zephyr, Jiaang Lin was now perfectly equipped to eavesdrop on their conversation.
¡°Yes.¡±
Suddenly, the myriad sounds of the world flooded Jiaang Lin¡¯s ears: the vigers¡¯ heartbeats, the roars from the demonic beasts on the me Beast in, the rustling of leaves, and the chorus of cicadas and bees¡ªall amplified a thousandfold. Jiaang Lin heard everything with crystal rity, which initially caused him some annoyance.
But the cacophony soon subsided, leaving only the clear voices of Qi Yuan and his group.
¡°With our Master¡¯s temperament, we¡¯re bound to get an earful, but given his protective nature and concern for his reputation, he certainly won¡¯t let us have a happy ending after being humiliated by him.¡±
¡°Master might even annihte the entire North Mountain Vige to prevent our affair from tarnishing his image.¡±
Qi Yuan responded, ¡°That¡¯s highly likely.¡±
¡°Why do I suddenly feel a chill down my spine?¡±
At that moment, Jiaang Lin¡¯s body was ovee with difort.
Then, in the blink of an eye, their voices vanished. Jiaang Lin could only watch as they were reduced to pulp by the Cloud shing Palm, leaving a massive, sunken palm imprint where they had stood.
As Qi Yuan and hispanions met their end, Jiaang Lin heard the system¡¯s notification chime once more.
Ding!
You have defeated a Martial Cultivator Level 4. You have gained 4 experience points.
Ding!
You have defeated a Martial Cultivator Level 4. You have gained 4 experience points.
Even the weakest among them had reached Martial Cultivator Level 3. With Qi Yuan¡¯s contribution, Jiaang Lin gained a total of 19 experience points.
Current experience: 34.
Ding!
Congrattions, host, on achieving a +2 level increase.
Congrattions, host, on leveling up.
Current level: Martial Cultivator Level 3.
In that instant, Jiaang Lin felt a surge of strength within his body. A warm flow suffused his being, seemingly filling his lower abdomen to the brim.
The sensation was incredibly soothing for Jiaang Lin.
¡°Is this what a breakthrough feels like?¡±
Jiaang Lin continuously clenched and unclenched his fists, the force emanating from his hands affirming the significant increase in his power.
¡°Qi Yuan, you truly are my good fortune. Though you can no longer hear me, I am deeply grateful to you.¡±
The session of system beeps had already taken Jiaang Lin by surprise, but he was not prepared for yet another notification.
Ding!
Congrattions, host, you have unlocked the Novice Growth Gift Pack.
Would you like to open it now?
Yes.
No.
¡°A Novice Growth Gift Pack?¡± Jiaang Lin was taken aback.
He had assumed that such a gift pack didn¡¯t exist for him, unlike other transmigrators who typically received one. Yet, to his astonishment, he did indeed possess a Novice Growth Gift Pack, which had only be avable upon reaching Martial Cultivator Level 3.
¡°Why did the system only offer me a novice gift pack now?¡±
Chapter 22
C22 ¨C The Vige Chief¡¯s Thoughts
¡°This system is outrageous!¡± Jiaang Lin thought to himself.
Suddenly, a system beep echoed in his mind:
Warning!
Host, you must not question the system!
Otherwise.
I will kill you.
¡°Kill!¡±
The moment the chilling beep resonated within Jiaang Lin¡¯s mind, he felt his soul quiver, followed by a bone-deep coldness.
Instantly, Jiaang Lin was drenched in a cold sweat!
He had never imagined that the system could possess a lethal function!
If he misspoke, he might very well be erased by the system. How then could he aspire to be the number one in the world, or even across all nes?
Novice Growth Gift Pack, would you like to open it now?
Yes.
No.
The system beep rang out once more. This time, Jiaang Lin didn¡¯t dare dy and promptly responded:
¡°No!¡±
¡°Immortal Master!¡±
Out of nowhere, a chorus of high-pitched shouts rang out. Jiaang Lin turned toward the source of the noise and saw the old vige chief leading a throng of vigers!
The old vige chief had awakened from his unconscious state, looking rejuvenated and his face aglow. Yet, his gaze towards Jiaang Lin was still brimming with profound reverence!
In his moment of bewilderment, the old vige chief actually knelt before him!
The vigers followed suit, some even ready to prostrate themselves!
¡°Thank you, Immortal Master, for protecting North Mountain Vige!¡±
Suddenly, it dawned on Jiaang Lin that the vigers were expressing their gratitude for his aid in driving off Qi Yuan and hispanions!
¡°Without you, Immortal Master, our vige would have surely been thrown into turmoil by the ruffians from the Green Mountain Sect!¡±
The old vige chief said, bowing deeply to Jiaang Lin.
Jiaang Lin couldn¡¯t possibly ept such an honor from so many people. In a sh, he activated his sprinting skill and sidestepped the gesture.
When they looked up, Jiaang Lin had vanished. Confused, they turned and found Jiaang Lin standing right beside them!
¡°Please, there¡¯s no need for such formalities with me.¡±
Jiaang Lin waved his hands dismissively and said, ¡°Each of you is my elder and my lifesaver. Without your help, I might have perished at the jaws of a demonic beast. You all saved me first, so I, Jiaang Lin, am bound to repay your kindness. Please, don¡¯t treat me with such formality!¡±
After much effort, Jiaang Lin finally managed to convince the vigers. Seeing thest of them stand up, he breathed a sigh of relief.
¡°Immortal Master, when will you be departing?¡± the old vige chief inquired, his voice quivering.
¡°You¡¯ve saved our vige too. Does this mean you¡¯ll be leaving us?¡±
Caught off guard by the question, Jiaang Lin turned to the vige chief and noticed his eyes flickering with concern, the muscles on his face twitching unnaturally. Using his skills, Jiaang Lin discerned the chief¡¯s worries.
¡°Vige Chief, you¡¯re afraid I¡¯ll leave, aren¡¯t you?¡± Jiaang Lin asked, observing the old man¡¯s face flush with embarrassment, despite his darkplexion.
?It seemed he had hit the nail on the head.
Chapter 23
C23 ¨C The Vige Chief Is a Cunning Person
?The old Vige Chief implied that he was aware of the Master or the beast tide Qi Yuan had previously mentioned. Our vige has surely angered the Green Mountain Sect with today¡¯s events. The Sect will no longer offer us protection. Furthermore, Chai Yuan, who has departed, may very well return with reinforcements. And if disciples from the Green Mountain Sect arrive, how could we, meremoners of North Mountain Vige, stand a chance against a group of martial cultivators?
Thus, the old Vige Chief wanted to keep Jiaang Lin around because he could safeguard North Mountain Vige.
But I suspect that¡¯s not the old Vige Chief¡¯s true intention.
His real n is to shift the me onto Jiaang Lin when the Green Mountain Sect arrives to seek retribution, using him of inciting rebellion against the Sect. This would alter the Sect¡¯s position, leaving Jiaang Lin to be betrayed by the Vige Chief.
?Jiaang Lin had long recognized the old Vige Chief¡¯s cunning nature. With every shift of his eyes, a myriad of devious schemes must be crossing his mind.
Take today¡¯s incident with Qi Yuan¡¯s attack; the old Vige Chief feigned a fainting spell, only to miraculously recover after the skirmish, lively yet unsteady. He certainly didn¡¯t seem like a man on his deathbed.
This old man is sly indeed. In a past life¡¯s game that Jiaang Lin yed, this man would undoubtedly be thest one standing.
Internally, Jiaang Lin scoffed at the old man, but outwardly, he maintained a beaming smile. After all, as long as he didn¡¯t show his anger, they could remain on friendly terms.
Besides, there¡¯s a woman in North Mountain Vige whom Jiaang Lin would hate to lose¡ªQiu Xiya.
?Just the thought of Qiu Xiya sent a shiver through Jiaang Lin¡¯s heart.
Without hesitation, Jiaang Lin dered earnestly, ¡°Rest assured, old Vige Chief, I will protect North Mountain Vige to the very end!¡±
¡°As long as I¡¯m here, North Mountain Vige will be under my protection!¡±
With that, he invoked his Leadership skill.
Jiaang Lin exercised his leadership skills at just the right moment. Suddenly, a mix of awe and fervor appeared on the faces of all the vigers, as if they had found someone to fervently follow. The only exception was the old vige chief, who remained noticeablyposed.
¡°It seems that even though it¡¯s a skill, some are still immune to its effects!¡±
Jiaang Lin narrowed his eyes, inexplicably filled with wariness towards the frail old vige chief.
Perhaps this was a premonition from his maximum level skill¡ªPassive Sensory Perception.
Just then, Qiu Xiya approached and took Jiaang Lin¡¯s hand, reverting to the bubbly demeanor she had when they first met. Her vivacity was evident, and all the vigers smiled warmly at her, clearly fond of Qiu Xiya.
No one could fathom how Qiu Xiya had grown to be so stunningly beautiful; her allure was beyond words.
Yet, such a radiant figure had emerged from a humble vige!
¡°How odd,¡± Jiaang Lin mused to himself.
¡°Alright, dear elders and uncles, please don¡¯t trouble the Immortal Master any further. He¡¯s exhausted from battling those bandits. Let¡¯s give him a moment to rest, shall we?¡±
Without waiting for a response, Qiu Xiya swiftly led Jiaang Lin away by the hand.

Chapter 24
C24 ¨C Novice Growth Gift Pack
Qiu Xiya escorted Jiaang Lin back to his original dwelling and promptly shut the door. Jiaang Lin caught on to her intentions immediately and his hands went straight to his belt. His body belonged to this world, and given his destitute status, his belt was nothing more than a tattered strip of cloth. His clothes were equally shabby, making him look like a beggar who was just slightly better off. Nheless, he was still a beggar.
With swift movements, Jiaang Lin began to loosen his belt, quipping, ¡°You must be smitten with my dashing looks. Plus, my valiant performance in battle was surely the epitome of handsomeness. It¡¯s understandable that you¡¯re so eager to be intimate with me. Today, I¡¯ll make the noble sacrifice and yield to you!¡±
As Jiaang Lin rambled on, unaware, a slender hand behind him had already seized a cloth shoe and was bringing it down hard on the back of his head!
¡°Scoundrel! Despicable! Libertine!¡±
Qiu Xiya was relentless, striking Jiaang Lin with the shoe and punctuating each insult with a blow, leaving him utterly bewildered.
¡°Stop! I was wrong! It was just a joke!¡± Jiaang Lin pleaded.
Though he had a high tolerance for pain, he feigned agony to appease Qiu Xiya¡¯s wrath. Seeing his pained expression, Qiu Xiya tossed the shoe aside and fled, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
?¡±It seems that even the most forthright can be shy,¡± Jiaang Lin chuckled, watching Qiu Xiya¡¯s retreating figure.
Once she was out of sight, Jiaang Lin collected himself, carefully shut the door, and sat down on the bed. ¡°System! Open the Novice Growth Gift Pack!¡± hemanded.
¡°Would you like to open the Novice Growth Gift Pack now?¡±

Chapter 25
C25 ¨C Swallowing the Medicine Pill
Regarding Grade 1 Medicine Pills, there are twelve grades of medicine pills in the world. The first nine grades are known as Mortal Pills, with each ascending grade offering a proportionally stronger effect.
The Tenth Grade Medicine Pill is revered as the Holy Pill, boasting a medicinal potency tenfold that of Mortal Pills. The Holy Pill¡¯s healing aura is so powerful that as long as the injured has a breath left, it can bring them back from the brink of death.
Grade 11 Medicine Pills are termed Divine Pills, renowned for their ability to resurrect the dead.
Grade 12 Medicine Pills, the Immortal Pills, are exceedingly rare, existing only in legends. No one has everid eyes on these mythical Immortal Pills. Ancient texts im that an Immortal Pill can grant a deceased martial cultivator a second life!
Jiaang Lin could scarcely fathom the wonders of this world. Should he master this Martial Technique, his power would undoubtedly soar to new heights.
¡°First, I¡¯ll consume the medicine pills to elevate my realm. Only then can I practice the Martial Technique and unlock even greater strength!¡± he dered.
?Opening the jade bottle in his hand, Jiaang Lin revealed three spherical, emerald-green pills shimmering with a crystalline sheen. The moment he uncorked the bottle, a rich medicinal scent enveloped him, swiftly filling the room with its heady aroma. With each breath, Jiaang Lin felt a soothing warmth coursing through his meridians, a sensation of purefort.
The strength of a medicine pill is reflected in its fragrance; the more it diffuses, the weaker the pill bes. Already, this pill had lost one percent of its efficacy.
?¡±One percent gone so swiftly?¡± Jiaang Lin mused, his hand shaking slightly as he ced all three pills into his mouth. They dissolved instantly, transforming into a warm current that surged through his meridians, invigorating his entire body.
Any onlooker witnessing Jiaang Lin¡¯s casual consumption of the medicine pills would be astounded by his apparent disregard for their value. He truly seemed indifferent to the preciousness of the pills.
?Normally, individuals take medicine pills one at a time, given the considerable potency of each pill. It¡¯smon practice to engage in cultivation after consuming a medicine pill, although typically only about seventy percent of the pill¡¯s medicinal strength is utilized.
Jiaang Lin, however, ingested three medicine pills in a single gulp. There was a chance he might not fully harness the power of the pills, or even that he might be overwhelmed by their strength.
Few martial cultivators would dare to consume medicine pills in the manner Jiaang Lin did. There have been martial cultivators whose impatience for progress led to dire oues. Those individuals were unable to cope with the violent medicinal strength, resulting in their meridians shatteringpletely. They were left unable to continue their path, stripped of their cultivation entirely.
Yet, when Jiaang Lin took three medicine pills, he only felt an intense burning sensation within, as if mes were engulfing him. His high tolerance for pain and his fire resistance, however, meant he experienced no adverse effects.
Despite this, sweat beaded on Jiaang Lin¡¯s forehead, and the swollen sensation in his meridians was a stark reminder of the condition he was confronting.
?¡±System, what¡¯s happening?¡± Jiaang Lin, with a furrowed brow, queried the system, hoping it might offer a way to refine the overwhelming power within him.
As his awareness sharpened, the system¡¯s prompt resounded in response.

The Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique has reached its maximum level. Current level of the Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique: 10/10.
The moment the notification chimed, Jiaang Lin felt a sudden influx of insights flooding his mind, all pertaining to a deeper understanding of the Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique!
Jiaang Lin sensed that with a sword in hand, he could execute the Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique wlessly!
¡°Nothing beats the Novice Growth Gift Pack!¡±
Jiaang Lin chuckled. He was in need of a sword, and as if the system had read his mind, it promptly sent a notification.
[Ding!]
[The Southern Bright me Dragon Sword is detected in the system bag. Would you like to equip it?]
¡°The system really knows what I need!¡± Jiaang Lin eximed with augh. ¡°Equip!¡±
[Ding!]
Equipping the Southern Bright me Dragon Sword x1!
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin¡¯s hand grew heavy as a fiery red sword, resembling a zing dragon, materialized in his grasp!
The Southern Bright me Dragon Sword, measuring nine feet in length, boasted a fiery red de and a hilt shaped like a dragon¡¯s head, also in fiery red. The ferocity in the dragon¡¯s eyes seemed to imbue Jiaang Lin¡¯s own aura with a touch of savagery!
Particrly noteworthy was the sword¡¯s de, rumored to be forged from dragon bone iron. It was adorned with patterns resembling dragon scales, which only added to the sword¡¯s imposing presence!
The sword¡¯s overwhelming fire aura was palpable. Jiaang Lin could tell that using this sword with any fire attribute martial skill would surely double the skill¡¯s potency!
With thebination of the Profound Level High-Grade Martial Technique: Heaven Burning me Spell, the High Grade of Profound Level Martial Technique: Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique, and the High Grade of Profound Level Blessed Artifact: Southern Bright me Dragon Sword, the power of the Nine-Dragon Burning Sword Technique could potentially triple!
Now, Jiaang Lin would face Qi Yuan again without a hint of fear.
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed, and North Mountain Vige had returned to its tranquil and joyful state. Qiu Xiya appeared to have forgotten Jiaang Lin¡¯s earlier teasing, and she continued to bring him meals daily.
Qiu Xiya now seemed even more uninhibited than before.
Her exquisite figure was right there in front of Jiaang Lin, her stunning beauty and breathtaking physique dazzling him. His eyes could hardly tear themselves away from her!
¡°She is absolutely gorgeous! No one on Earth could hold a candle to her! If she were on our, star scouts worldwide would be moring for her!¡±
Jiaang Lin kept sniffing, sensing a warm current building up in his nose, threatening to spill out at any moment, which would be quite embarrassing!
With this in mind, Jiaang Lin awkwardly turned his head away.
¡°What¡¯s the matter? Little pervert, have you had your fill of looking?¡±
Qiu Xiya¡¯s voice was yful, and as Jiaang Lin looked up, he was met with her intoxicating gaze. In that moment, her prating stare seemed toy bare all his hidden thoughts.
¡°Oh no! She¡¯s onto me!¡±
Jiaang Lin inwardly cursed his luck but wasn¡¯t about to confess!
As a gentleman, peeking was out of the question.
¡°Beautiful, you¡¯ve got it all wrong. Don¡¯t think for a second that I¡¯m peeking at you. I¡¯m actually practicing self-discipline and honing my control!¡±

Chapter 28
C28 ¨C Bamboo
The moment Jiaang Lin spoke, Qiu Xiya took the opportunity to unt her figure right in front of him.
By the end of it, Jiaang Lin couldn¡¯t even recall hisst words; his mind was overrun with visions of plump rabbits frolicking across the meadows of his heart.
¡°You really are a libertine!¡±
Qiu Xiya looked at Jiaang Lin with an amused expression. Snapping back to reality, Jiaang Lin retorted, ¡°My deardy, tempting a gentleman in such a manner is quite improper. I am a man of pure intentions. My noble character is pristine, like jade¡ªI am utterly immune to temptations from the likes of you!¡±
¡°You call yourself pure and noble, you libertine? That¡¯s revolting!¡±
Stunned, Jiaang Lin watched as Qiu Xiya spat at him with disdain, then red and snapped, ¡°Narcissist!¡±
After her remark, Qiu Xiya sent a flirtatious wink his way, leaving Jiaang Lin feeling utterly ted and his spirits swaying.
¡°By the way, today is the day the young men from our vige go hunting in the mountains. Would you like to join them, Immortal Master?¡±
Jiaang Lin had been living quite the leisurely life these past few days, his routine filled with nothing but eating and sleeping. Qiu Xiya had been diligently bringing him meals thrice a day. Though the fare was simple, Jiaang Lin was anything but fussy.
He felt indebted to Qiu Xiya for saving him and caring for him daily. He couldn¡¯t justify indulging in the vige¡¯s hospitality without contributing. So, Jiaang Lin nodded and said, ¡°Then I shall apany them into the mountains. Should theye across any formidable beasts, or even demonic beasts, my presence will offer them some measure of safety. At the very least, I can ensure their safe return!¡±
¡°Great, I¡¯ll walk you to the vige entrance!¡± Qiu Xiya replied, her enchanting smile captivating and irresistible.
?As they strolled along the vige¡¯s narrow path, Jiaang Lin inquired, ¡°Does your vige only hunt once a month?¡±
¡°How could that be?¡± Qiu Xiya replied, her face tinged with sorrow. ¡°On the tenth, twentieth, and thirtieth of each month, the young adults gather to hunt in the mountains. But we usually only manage to catch a few small creatures; it¡¯s quite a challenge. No one dares to venture too deep into the mountains, for a powerful demonic beast is said to dwell there, reigning supreme over its domain.¡±
¡°Oh? Does that mean there¡¯s a Beast King lurking deep within the mountains?¡±
Jiaang Lin hadn¡¯t anticipated that, beyond the me Beast in, there would actually be demonic beasts dwelling in themon mountains of the secr world!
But then he thought, maybe the demonic beasts from the outskirts of the me Beast in had ventured out into the mortal world¡¯s mountain ranges. And perhaps, with no natural predators around, one of these beasts had imed the mountain as its own, ruling over all the wild animals!
¡°Indeed, it¡¯s an old tale passed down from the previous generation. Whether it¡¯s true or not is uncertain, but sometimes at night, the ferocious roars of wild beasts can be heard echoing through the forest, which is quite frightening!¡±
¡°Alright, in that case, when I join them on their venture into the mountains, we¡¯ll see if we can encounter this legendary demonic beast and perhaps capture somerger wild animals for the vigers to feast on!¡±
As Jiaang Lin was saying this, they reached the entrance of the vige.
At that moment, the vige chief was advising ten sturdy young men to be careful. Spotting Jiaang Lin, the chief¡¯s eyes immediately brightened with recognition.

Chapter 29
C29 ¨C But What Does This Have to Do with Me?
¡°Immortal Master!¡±
Uponying eyes on Jiaang Lin, the elderly vige chief behaved as if he had just encountered his own nurturing father, swiftly approaching and bowing deeply. Jiaang Lin deftly stepped aside, avoiding the gesture.
Jiaang Lin was well aware of the chief¡¯s intentions. He wanted him to venture into the mountains for a hunt.
The chief¡¯s motives were twofold: he sought Jiaang Lin¡¯s protection for the vige¡¯s young men, aiming to minimize casualties.
Moreover, he was eager for Jiaang Lin to lend his skills, confident that with Jiaang Lin¡¯s expertise, the vige¡¯s yield from the hunt would be significantly enhanced.
Jiaang Lin had a clear understanding of the old vige chief¡¯s motives. He even suspected that the chief had convinced Qiu Xiya to coax him into this.
Nevertheless, since he had been rescued by him and had spoken to that woman, he decided to go along with it.
The old vige chief, brimming with enthusiasm, inquired, ¡°Immortal Master, did youe because you heard we¡¯re heading into the mountains to hunt?¡±
With fervor in his voice, the chief exined, ¡°You may not be aware, but our vige is in a remote location with infertilend. The scant resources we have are insufficient to sustain our people, which is why our young men arepelled to brave the perilous forests to hunt.¡±
As he spoke, a profound sadness etched his face, the deep lines mirroring the cracked and parched earth.
¡°Even my own son perished in those woods, falling victim to the jaws of a grey wolf!¡±
The vige chief managed to produce a few tears, and to the uninformed observer, it would seem his son¡¯s death was a sorrow of great magnitude.
¡°May you find peace in eptance,¡± Jiaang Lin said, feigningpassion, his expression seemingly swayed by the chief¡¯s disy of emotion.
Jiaang Lin nced discreetly at Qiu Xiya, noting her slight frown. Clearly, she was aware of the vige chief¡¯s true character and was exasperated by his insincere disy.
In that moment, Jiaang Lin realized that Qiu Xiya also disliked the vige chief. So why not seek to win her favor now?
As Jiaang Lin finished his statement, the old vige head gave a sorrowful nod, trying to appear strong. But then Jiaang Lin dropped a bombshell.
¡°But what does that have to do with me?¡±
At those words, the old vige head waspletely taken aback!
Qiu Xiya and the young men were caught off guard. They struggled to contain theirughter, barely managing to suppress it, though their mouths twitched uncontrobly.
It took a considerable time for the old vige head to regain hisposure, his eyes darting wildly.
He was at a loss for words.
¡°Today, I¡¯ve joined them for a hunt in the mountains. You, vige head, can wait here in the vige!¡±
Jiaang Lin had his fun teasing the vige head and even managed to delight the young woman. Pleased with himself, he spoke up candidly.
The old vige head had been secretly figuring out how to persuade Jiaang Lin to join the young men on their mountain hunt, but to his surprise, Jiaang Lin volunteered!
Initially taken aback, the vige head quickly began nodding in agreement. ¡°With your prowess, you¡¯re sure to keep theseds safe!¡±
¡°I¡¯ming along this time too!¡±
Suddenly, Jiaang Lin and the rest were rooted to the spot in astonishment!
Chapter 30
C30 ¨C A Mysterious Middleaged Man
¡°Nonsense!¡±
Before the old vige chief could utter a word, a deep and angry shout erupted from a yellow y house at the vige entrance.
As soon as the voice was heard, the old vige chief and the dozen or so strapping young men¡¯s faces turned pale with apprehension.
Jiaang Lin observed everyone¡¯s reactions, feeling bewildered.
Clearly, they all held a deep fear of the voice¡¯s owner.
The men, in particr, tensed their muscles instantly upon hearing the voice, their eyes wide with the same caution one would reserve for a highly dangerous animal.
¡°What kind of person could instill such fear in these people?¡±
Jiaang Lin was intensely curious about the man inside the yellow house.
¡°Mr. Ji, are you awake?¡±
Qiu Xiya was initially taken aback by the voice, but then her surprise turned to delight.
No sooner had Qiu Xiya spoken than the door of the yellow house swung open.
The wooden door, which seemed to have remained closed for ages, had led Jiaang Lin to believe the house was abandoned.
But as the door opened, the man inside finally stood before them all.
Jiaang Lin saw a middle-aged man in his forties, dressed in a white robe that lent him an air of elegance. The man had a handsome face, but his skin was an unhealthy, bloodless white.
His eyes, deep and soulful, seemed to have witnessed the world¡¯s every secret.
When his gaze fell upon Jiaang Lin, it felt as though the man could see right through to all his hidden thoughts.
Instinctively, Jiaang Lin wanted to retreat, to find a ce out of this man¡¯s sight.
This sensation made his skin crawl.
Jiaang Lin¡¯s maximum skill, ¡°Passive Perception,¡± alerted him to the middle-aged man¡¯s danger.
He sensed that even now, he might be no match for this man.
Jiaang Lin felt an urge to flee.
Congrattions to the host, you haveprehended the skill: Lying!
Lying: Upgraded to maximum level, your lies will be undetectable!
Lying: Current level 1/10. Would you like to upgrade to maximum level?
¡°Yes!¡±
Without hesitation, Jiaang Lin trusted his instincts that the middle-aged man before him posed a grave threat. The instant the skill became avable, he immediately chose to upgrade this ability that could help him conceal himself.
Lying had reached its maximum level. Current skill level of Lying: 10/10.
In a split second, Jiaang Lin¡¯s slightly panicked expression regained itsposure. His demeanor was as undisturbed as an ancient well, showing no hint of emotion. Even the subtle giveaways that might have betrayed him to an observant eye were seamlessly concealed by his skill in deception!
It was clear that Jiaang Lin was without a single w!
¡°This skill is truly a divine technique!¡±
Jiaang Lin only began to feel ted after his skill had been maxed out!
This skill wasn¡¯t just effective during deceit; it rendered him utterly impable!
It¡¯s well known that when an average person lies, it¡¯s not just the veracity of their words that gives them away, but also their subconscious bodynguage, eye movements, and even muscle tremors. These are the telltale signs that can expose a lie!
Thus, the ability to lie without a trace was an incredibly potent skill for Jiaang Lin, making each falsehood indistinguishable from the truth.
In that critical moment, Jiaang Lin keenly observed a shift in the middle-aged man¡¯s gaze.
The situation was fraught with danger!
Chapter 31
C31 ¨C The Mysterious Qiu Xiya and Mr. Ji
?¡±Mr. Ji!¡± Qiu Xiya eximed with joy as she threw herself into his arms in a disy of affection.
Despite Qiu Xiya¡¯s enthusiastic embrace, Mr. Ji remained stoic, his gaze fixed intently on Jiaang Lin, as though trying to unravel the man¡¯s very essence.
His brow furrowed more deeply the longer he watched Jiaang Lin.
¡°Mr. Ji! When did you wake up?¡± Qiu Xiya asked, her voice tinged with emotion. It was clear she hadn¡¯t seen him in quite some time, and the tears lingering in the corners of her eyes were enough to tug at anyone¡¯s heartstrings.
?¡±I woke up today, only to hear you were nning to head into the mountains with them. That¡¯s just reckless!¡± he scolded, casting a stern look her way.
But Qiu Xiya seemed unfazed, clinging to the middle-aged man¡¯s arm with the innocence of a tame kitten.
¡°She¡¯s like a kitten with him, but with me, she¡¯s a dangerous seductress,¡± Jiaang Lin mused silently. ¡°Women truly are creatures of many facets!¡±
¡°Mr. Ji, I really want to go with him. He¡¯s so much fun, and he¡¯s strong, too¡ªhe can protect me!¡± Qiu Xiya pleaded, employing every ounce of her charm.
?Mr. Ji was clearly fond of Qiu Xiya, and even his stern demeanor softened slightly. ¡°Xiya, you know I¡¯m not as capable as I once was. Protecting you in the face of real danger is no small feat. And if you were to encounter the Beast King in the woods, do you think this young man could handle it?¡±
¡°Mr. Ji, isn¡¯t the Beast King just a myth? No one has ever actually seen that demonic beast. What are the chances we¡¯d run into it?¡± Qiu Xiya replied nonchntly.
He couldn¡¯t bring himself to outright dismiss Qiu Xiya¡¯s wishes, so he leaned in closer, his voice a grave whisper. ¡°Xiya, be careful¡ªthis young man is dangerous.¡±
¡°Why would you say that, Mr. Ji?¡± Qiu Xiya responded, her surprise evident.
¡°Believe me, I have a knack for reading people, and I¡¯m usually spot-on. But this guy,¡± he said, his frown deepening, ¡°I just can¡¯t figure him out.¡±
¡°Mr. Ji can¡¯t see through him?¡± Qiu Xiya was genuinely astonished.
Everyone knew Mr. Ji had an incredibly keen eye. A single look was usually all it took for him to discern someone¡¯s character and integrity. He could instantly identify who was worth befriending and who harbored hidden agendas.
Yet now, Mr. Ji couldn¡¯t prate the facade of a mere teenager?
Did this mean Jiaang Lin was particrly cunning?
That seemed improbable.
Given Mr. Ji¡¯s vast experience, he was adept at reading people¡¯s faces. It was utterly bewildering that he couldn¡¯t decipher a young man¡¯s intentions.
¡°Mr. Ji, do you suspect that Jiaang Lin hase to North Mountain Vige with a hidden agenda?¡± Qiu Xiya subtly nced at Jiaang Lin.
¡°He might be one of ¡®them.¡¯ We need to be cautious!¡± Ji Zhong whispered.
¡°Understood, Mr. Ji. I¡¯ll be vignt!¡±
To the old vige chief and the other men, it appeared that Ji Zhong and Qiu Xiya were merely engaging in a quiet conversation. They were oblivious to the content of their exchange. Unbeknownst to them, Jiaang Lin had overheard every word.
¡°The backgrounds of these two are shrouded in mystery,¡± Jiaang Lin realized.
He mused, ¡°It¡¯s no surprise that such an ethereal beauty graces this humble vige. She clearly has an extraordinary origin.¡±
Chapter 32
C32 ¨C The Honest Men
Jiaang Lin averted his gaze, deliberately avoiding looking at Ji Zhong and Qiu Xiya. He turned to address the group of strapping men, ¡°Today, I¡¯ll join you in the mountains. Let¡¯s aim to bring back a good haul of game. Later, we can light a bonfire and have the whole vige join in the festivities. How does that sound?¡±
At his suggestion, they burst into heartyughter. A dark-skinned man, roughly forty-five years old, chuckled, ¡°You really are different from those Immortal Masters of the grand sects. They would never mingle and make merry with usmon folk.¡±
¡°They believe they possess divine powers and don¡¯t even consider us worth their attention. They act like bandits, taking what they want without restraint.¡±
¡°You, on the other hand, are much more approachable.¡±
With the dark-skinned man breaking the ice, the rest of the young men opened up to Jiaang Lin,plimenting his affable and gentle nature.
Jiaang Lin felt his cheeks warm with their praise, but his adeptness at deception effortlessly concealed his emotions and the blush on his face.
?Thanks to his skill in deceit, Jiaang Lin could observe them without reservation. Though referred to as young men, only two were close to Jiaang Lin¡¯s age, with the majority being middle-aged.
The dark-skinned man stood out as their leader, the eldest and most battle-scarred among them, his body marked with an array of scratches, bite wounds, and even deeper gashes.
It was clear to Jiaang Lin that this man had survived numerous encounters with death.
Jiaang Lin also noticed the respect that flickered in the eyes of the others when they looked at their seasoned leader.
?¡±Immortal Master,¡± they murmured in hushed tones, but amidst their low voices, a youthful one stood out.
Jiaang Lin turned to see a young man gazing at him with admiration. ¡°Immortal Master, my name is Tie Ta.¡±
?Tie Ta¡¯s physique was impressively muscr as he introduced himself, his eyes shining with reverence for Jiaang Lin.
Jiaang Lin instantly recognized the intensity in Tie Ta¡¯s gaze. Had it not been for his maximum level ability to discern true intentions, he might have mistakenly thought Tie Ta harbored inappropriate feelings for him.
¡°Just call me Mr. Jiaang. There¡¯s no need to keep calling me Immortal Master; it¡¯s a bit embarrassing,¡± Jiaang Lin said with a smile.
¡°Alright.¡± Tie Ta was a simple, straightforward man. As soon as Jiaang Lin suggested it, he immediately agreed. But no sooner had Tie Ta consented than the middle-aged team leader smacked him on the back of his head.
¡°When the Immortal Master tells you to call him something, that¡¯s what you do. Show some respect,¡± the team leader chastised him. He then extended his hand and introduced himself, ¡°I¡¯m Tie Ta, his father.¡±
¡°My name is Wei Tiezhu.¡±
¡°I¡¯m Jiaang Xiaodong.¡±
¡°And I¡¯m Shen Danian.¡±
Watching them introduce themselves, Jiaang Lin felt a warmth from their honest and open demeanor. With a grand gesture, he dered, ¡°Let¡¯s head into the mountains. Later, we can return and celebrate with our spouses over drinks and a feast.¡±
From behind Jiaang Lin, Qiu Xiya observed his demeanor, and the trepidation and skepticism in her eyes faded away.
Chapter 33
C33 ¨C The Hunt Begins
¡°Mr. Ji, I¡¯ve made up my mind. I¡¯m going to head into the mountains with them!¡±
Qiu Xiya¡¯s gaze was fixed on Ji Zhong, filled with unwavering resolve.
¡°You!¡±
Without hesitation, Ji Zhong dered, ¡°I¡¯ll apany you!¡±
¡°Mr. Ji, you¡¯reing too? What about your health?¡±
Qiu Xiya expressed her surprise, her concern for Ji Zhong¡¯s well-being clearly evident as she nced at him.
¡°The danger has escted recently. I won¡¯t have peace of mind unless I¡¯m with you!¡± Ji Zhong spoke with an air of finality, his decision to follow Qiu Xiya and ensure her safety firmly made.
¡°Beauty, why would you want to join us on a hunting trip into the mountains?¡± Jiaang Lin asked, clearly baffled.
He had assumed that Qiu Xiya was acting on the vige chief¡¯s orders to request his participation in the hunting party to safeguard the men, but the reality was not as Jiaang Lin had envisioned.
¡°Is there a problem? Isn¡¯t it a good thing that I¡¯m willing to join you?¡± Qiu Xiya teased, batting her eyshes at Jiaang Lin. ¡°Shouldn¡¯t you be thrilled to have a beauty like me apanying you on the hunt?¡±
Jiaang Lin quickly dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand, ¡°Fine, if you want toe along, then by all means.¡±
¡°Uncle Iron Tower, there¡¯s no issue with Mr. Ji and me joining you on the hunt, right?¡±
Qiu Xiya yfully swung Iron Tower¡¯s arm, which he bashfully withdrew. He responded, ¡°Sure,e along. With him to protect you, you¡¯ll likely be safe.¡±
¡°Absolutely! Mr. Ji is incredibly capable!¡± Qiu Xiya said cheerfully, while giving Jiaang Lin a yful re. ¡°Oh, and I don¡¯t need your protection!¡±
Jiaang Lin felt a mix of resignation and determination, silently vowing to himself that he¡¯d get even with Qiu Xiya if the opportunity ever arose.
¡°Well, Immortal Master, if that¡¯s settled, shall we head into the mountain?¡± When Tie Ta spoke of the mountain, his demeanor shifted to one of utter seriousness, his presence transforming markedly.
Jiaang Lin recognized this aura as one that only seasoned warriors possessed.
?Jiaang Lin¡¯s previous life as a special forces soldier had endowed him with a distinctive aura. When Tie Ta released his own powerful aura, even Ji Zhong couldn¡¯t help but give him a surprised nce, a testament to its intensity.
¡°Hold on a moment¡¡±
Jiaang Lin stroked his chin, halting Tie Ta who was on the verge of announcing their departure. Tie Ta looked at Jiaang Lin, puzzled, while Ji Zhong¡¯s gaze also shifted towards him.
?¡±If we depart now, the vige will be defenseless,¡± Jiaang Lin observed, his eyes narrowing. ¡°I¡¯ve pledged to safeguard North Mountain Vige, so I must consider all potential threats. Being extra cautious is never a bad thing.¡±
¡°Are you concerned about the Green Mountain Sect stirring up trouble?¡± Qiu Xiya inquired.
¡°It¡¯s not just the Green Mountain Sect,¡± Jiaang Lin replied, shaking his head. ¡°Have you all forgotten what Qi Yuan mentioned the other day?¡±
¡°What did he say?¡± Tie Ta asked, clearly perplexed.
¡°He warned us that a significant beast tide would erupt within about half a month, and three days have already passed. We need to take this seriously.¡±
A sharp glint in Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyes revealed his deep contemtion of the matter.
¡°Should we then leave some people behind to guard the vige?¡± Tie Ta asked, his hesitation evident. To them, mere mortals, the prospect of facing demonic beasts or the Green Mountain Sect was daunting, to say the least.

Chapter 34
C34 ¨C me Beast Fire Dog
Even if all the young adults stayed in the vige, they might still be no match for a single Fire Wolf!
Jiaang Lin noticed the worry in Tie Ta¡¯s eyes and said, ¡°There¡¯s no need to leave anyone behind in the vige. You¡¯re no match for them.¡±
¡°Does that mean the Immortal Master ns to stay and guard the vige instead of joining us for the hunt in the mountains?¡± Jiaang Xiaodong asked from within the small group.
¡°Not exactly.¡±
Jiaang Lin shook his head and silently invoked in his mind:
Demonic beast¡ªFire Wolf, emerge!
Instantly, beams of light flickered around the group of sturdy men, and before they knew it, eleven Fire Wolves materialized, filling the air with an overwhelmingly dense demonic aura.
¡°Oh no! It¡¯s the Fire Wolves!¡±
As the Fire Wolves materialized out of thin air and encircled them, the men were momentarily thrown into disarray. But Tie Ta quickly steadied his nerves andmanded, ¡°Stay calm! Form up for defense!¡±
Tie Ta¡¯s voice served as a powerful reassurance, spurring the men into action. They swiftly formed a protective circle around Jiaang Lin, Qiu Xiya, and Ji Zhong, facing the encroaching Fire Wolves with weapons at the ready.
Amidst the tense atmosphere, Ji Zhong¡¯s gaze was fixed on Jiaang Lin, with a sh of astonishment in his eyes.
¡°Are you a Tamer?¡± Ji Zhong inquired, addressing Jiaang Lin for the first time.
¡°Tamer? What¡¯s that?¡± Jiaang Lin asked, unfamiliar with the term.
A Tamer is a professionparable to that of an Alchemist, Pharmacist, or Puppet Master. They canmand demonic beasts to serve as their minions in battle. A formidable Tamer can even tame dragons to fight on their behalf!
¡°Yes, I am a Tamer,¡± Jiaang Lin responded nonchntly, patting Tie Ta¡¯s shoulder. ¡°Don¡¯t be rmed! These aren¡¯t the Fire Wolves you¡¯re thinking of. Step aside!¡±
¡°Immortal Master, what do you mean? Aren¡¯t these the Fire Wolves from the me Beast in? We¡¯ve seen them before!¡±
¡°Yeah, there was a time when a Fire Wolf came to the outskirts of our vige. It took the sacrifice of five brothers before big brother Tie Ta managed to y it!¡±
¡°They look just like that one!¡±
¡°Don¡¯t worry.¡±
Jiaang Lin addressed the group of Fire Wolves, ¡°You are to protect the vige. If any other demonic beasts or suspicious individuals approach, engage them in battle immediately!¡±
Upon Jiaang Lin¡¯smand, all the Fire Wolves roared in unison, then stood erect. They sat back on their hind legs, crossed their forelegs over their chests, and stuck out their tongues, the picture of docility.
The sight of these Fire Wolves left everyone present agape. Even the vigers, who had heard the howls, paused in astonishment at the sight of such tame Fire Wolves, their hearts pounding with amazement.
¡°Are these creatures still Fire Wolves?¡±
¡°They¡¯re more like me Beast Fire Dogs!¡±
¡°This Fire Wolf haspletely abandoned the pride of its species! To be so utterly submissive to a human!¡±
¡°The Immortal Master is truly formidable! To think he could domesticate a savage demonic beast like the Fire Wolf into a dog!¡±
All the vigers were thoroughly impressed by Jiaang Lin.

Chapter 35
C35 ¨C Hunting
Jiaang Lin had tamed a Fire Wolf on the me Beast in. These creatures were all Grade 1 demonic beasts, equivalent to a Level 1 martial cultivator.
Demonic beasts are categorized into nine grades and nine levels, aligning with the ranks of martial cultivators: martial warriors, martial masters, Grand Martial Masters, Martial Kings, Martial Emperors, Martial Monarchs, Martial Gods, and Martial Ancestors. There are a total of nine distinct levels!
The key difference between demonic beasts and cultivators lies in their physical strength. Cultivators are rtively weaker, whereas demonic beasts can exert strength about one level higher than their own. Hence, in a battle between equally ranked cultivators and demonic beasts, thetter¡¯s strength is often superior.
Moreover, Fire Wolves are pack animals known for their coordinatedbat tactics. Even Qi Yuan, if faced with these eleven Fire Wolves, would likely meet his demise. This is precisely why Jiaang Lin felt confident in leaving the Fire Wolves to protect the vige while he joined the hunting team on their expedition.
¡°I really didn¡¯t expect you to be able to subdue such a ferocious demonic beast like the Fire Wolf to serve you!¡± Tie Ta said, leading the group.
¡°Mr. Jiaang, you¡¯re truly incredible. I¡¯ll have to try my hand at capturing a bear to keep as a pet!¡± Tie Ta chimed in, elicitingughter from everyone, except for Ji Zhong, who maintained his stern, expressionless demeanor.
¡°Immortal Master, Tie Ta has never been the sharpest tool in the shed, so please don¡¯t mind his silly talk,¡± Tie Ta said, giving Tie Ta a yful knock on the head.
Watching Tie Ta¡¯s effortless actions, Jiaang Lin thought he understood why Tie Ta might be considered a bit slow.
Upon reaching the mountain forest, the group was surrounded by towering rocks, massive trees, and dense underbrush. They moved cautiously, silent in the presence of a plump rabbit ahead.
?Tie Ta gestured for everyone to halt, then stealthily approached the unsuspecting rabbit. Sensing danger, the rabbit scanned its surroundings just as Tie Ta released an arrow, piercing the rabbit¡¯s eyes and pinning it to the ground.
?¡±Beautiful shot!¡± the men praised, admiring Tie Ta¡¯s skill. He simply smiled, humbly epting thepliment without a hint of arrogance.
Jiaang Lin watched Tie Ta¡¯s movements with admiration for his decisiveness. When Tie Ta grasped the crossbow, Jiaang Lin felt as though man and weapon had be one. It was as if, with the crossbow in his hands, Tie Ta could never miss.
?¡±I never imagined that in such a small vige, we¡¯d find a master like Tie Ta,¡± Jiaang Lin said, offering his sincere praise.
?Tie Ta, a middle-aged man with the innocence of a child, blushed slightly at thepliment.
Just then, a loud bird call pierced the air. Everyone turned to see a bird, resembling a pigeon but ten timesrger, take flight. Startled by the twang of the crossbow, it had no choice but to spread its wings.
¡°That¡¯s a Cloud Pigeon! They usually hide in the dense treetops, almost impossible to spot!¡± Jiaang Xiaodongmented as he watched the Cloud Pigeon disappear into the distance. ¡°If only we had known it was there, we could have feasted on pigeon meat!¡±
?¡±Indeed! That Cloud Pigeon must weigh at least forty kilograms, enough for every family in our vige to have a share of the meat,¡± Qiu Xiya added, echoing the sentiment of loss.
¡°What a shame¡¡± Hammer remarked.
Chapter 36
C36 ¨C Cloud Pigeon
¡°It got away,¡± Tie Tamented, watching as the Cloud Pigeon became nothing more than a blurry shadow in the distance.
At that moment, Jiaang Lin stooped to pick up a pebble, weighing it in his hand with a grin spreading across his face. While the Cloud Pigeon had evaded the sight of Tie Ta and the others, it hadn¡¯t escaped Jiaang Lin¡¯s watchful eye.
?¡±What are you up to?¡± Qiu Xiya inquired, her confusion evident.
Ji Zhong, however, was staring at Jiaang Lin¡¯s movements, his eyes widening suddenly as if he had grasped Jiaang Lin¡¯s next move. ¡°Is he really nning to knock down the Cloud Pigeon with a stone? Impossible!¡± Ji Zhong was filled with incredulity.
The Cloud Pigeon was already hundreds of meters away. Even to Ji Zhong¡¯s keen vision, it was merely a vague ck speck, and it was certainly beyond the visual reach of Tie Ta and the rest, who were no more than ordinary folks.
¡°At such a distance, obscured by dense foliage, and with the Cloud Pigeon still in motion, even a seasoned archer wouldck confidence. How could a mere cultivator with a stone hope to seed?¡± Ji Zhong couldn¡¯t fathom Jiaang Lin attempting such a feat, dismissing his own judgment as wed.
Yet, in the blink of an eye, as all eyes converged on Jiaang Lin, heunched the stone from his grasp. To the astonishment of the onlookers, the stone soared hundreds of meters, tracking the flight path of the Cloud Pigeon before vanishing from sight.
?¡±Chase it!¡± Jiaang Linmanded, releasing the stone and immediately setting off in pursuit. As the words left his mouth, the others saw that Jiaang Lin had already covered several meters.
He had even moderated his pace, concerned they wouldn¡¯t keep up. But even this moderated speed left everyone in awe.
?¡±Such incredible speed!¡± Ji Zhong marveled, his pupils dting as he pondered, ¡°With such swift agility, could his encounter with Xiya really have been a mere coincidence?¡±
As he thought this, Ji Zhong quickened his pace, surprisingly keeping up with Jiaang Lin¡¯s speed.
?Jiaang Lin paid no attention to Ji Zhong; his eyes were locked on the Cloud Pigeon and the stone he had hurled. Momentster, a smirk crept onto Jiaang Lin¡¯s face as he watched the stone pierce through the back of the Cloud Pigeon¡¯s head, obliterating its brain.
The Cloud Pigeon plummeted to the ground, lifeless.
As Jiaang Lin continued his relentless pursuit, a question lingered in everyone¡¯s mind: Could he actually strike the Cloud Pigeon?
Qiu Xiya was sprinting fiercely, yet she couldn¡¯t keep up with Faang Meng. Luckily, Ji Zhong produced a talisman out of thin air and affixed it to Qiu Xiya¡¯s leg. Her speed surged instantly, matching Jiaang Lin¡¯s.
¡°Can your stone truly hit the Cloud Pigeon?¡± Qiu Xiya inquired, running beside Jiaang Lin.
¡°Just watch,¡± Jiaang Lin replied, a confident grin spreading across his face.
¡°You¡¯re so full of yourself!¡± retorted Qiu Xiya.
¡°Full of myself? How about a kiss, and I¡¯ll spill the secrets,¡± Jiaang Lin teased with a chuckle.
¡°Get lost!¡± Qiu Xiya snapped back.
Trailing behind them, Ji Zhong observed their interaction with a sense of unease.
¡°Jiaang Lin, who are you, really? And what are your intentions with Xiya?¡± Ji Zhong¡¯s brow furrowed deeply, his face etched with concern.
Chapter 37
C37 ¨C Zou Lieh Shot the Cloud Pigeon
Deep in the forest, heading in the opposite direction from Jiaang Lin and hispanions, a scene unfolded.
¡°Young Master, I¡¯ve heard that you¡¯ve taken an elder from the Green Mountain Sect as your master. Your potential for future aplishments is boundless. This is truly a cause for celebration. Our South Mountain Vige will now be under the protection of the Green Mountain Sect. You are indeed a great benefactor to our vige!¡±
Next to a strikingly handsome young man with a tall, erect posture, a stooped old manvished praise upon him. The old man¡¯s demeanor was obsequious, his attitude subservient, and his words brimmed with ttery for the young man.
Despite the transparent nature of the old man¡¯s ttery, the young man basked in it, a hint of arrogance creeping onto his face.
¡°Naturally. When the Young Master was chosen by the Green Mountain Sect, his exceptional talent drew the gaze of many elders. Your achievements today are solely the result of your remarkable innate abilities!¡±
Beside the young man stood a muscr man of simr age to Tie Ta, who unabashedly showered the young man withpliments, further inting his sense of pride.
¡°You speak the truth!¡± The young man flicked open his folding fan with a flourish. The fan spread wide, plementing his handsome features and adding an air of suaveness to his appearance.
¡°Once disciples of the Green Mountain Sect ascend the mountain, they are not permitted to descend at will. It was only because my master valued my talent that I was allowed to apany the resource collection team down to the vige for a two-day visit. Otherwise, who knows when I would have been able to return?¡±
The young man feigned disappointment, but his expression was all about unting the special attention he had received from the sect and his esteemed master.
The hunched old man and the robust man at his side continued to heap praise upon the young man, careful not to show any disrespect.
¡°This return coincides with our vige¡¯s hunting day. I¡¯ll give you a demonstration of a martial cultivator¡¯s skills!¡± the young man dered with a proud smile.
¡°That would be most splendid!¡± both the old man and the robust man responded, bowing deeply.
At that moment, a disturbance arose ahead of them. A massive pigeon emerged from the woods, sending the group of dozens into a frenzy.
¡°Look, it¡¯s a Cloud Pigeon!¡±
¡°The meat of a Cloud Pigeon is sulent, but its elusive nature makes it a rare catch. With Young Master Zou Lieh here today, we¡¯re in for a treat!¡±
¡°We are indeed fortunate!¡±
¡¡
¡°This Cloud Pigeon has practically delivered itself to our doorstep; how could I possibly let it slip away?¡± Zou Lieh gazed at the Cloud Pigeon soaring above, and with a flick of his fan, a burst of astral energy erupted forth. The energy morphed into a series of sharp spikes. The piercing force was so intense that those nearby felt as though their hearts could be skewered by the astral energy!
¡°Is this the fearsome power of an Immortal Master?¡±
The residents of South Mountain Vige watched in awe as Zou Lieh¡¯s fan trembled in their chests with fear.
Zou Lieh could already picture the terror etched on their faces, a smug satisfaction spreading across his own.
The next moment, he brandished his fan, and the razor-sharp astral energy sliced through the air, screaming like a banshee as it targeted the Cloud Pigeon!
¡°Today, we¡¯ll light a fire right here in the woods, and you¡¯ll all join me in savoring the rich vors of Cloud Pigeon meat!¡±
Zou Lieh¡¯s lips twitched upward, confident that his move would ensure the Cloud Pigeon¡¯s heart would be pierced, turning it into their feast.
But in the very next instant, Zou Lieh¡¯s eyes narrowed sharply!
The Cloud Pigeon¡¯s flight path shifted abruptly, as if it had suddenly be powerless, plummeting softly towards the ground. His astral energy had merely grazed the wings of the Cloud Pigeon, missing its vital organs!
Zou Lieh¡¯s face darkened with displeasure.
¡°Look! The young master has brought down the Cloud Pigeon!¡±
Everyone immediately hurried to where the Cloud Pigeon had fallen.
¡°What in the world happened?¡± Zou Lieh¡¯s brow furrowed in confusion.

Chapter 38
C38 ¨C The Battle of the Cloud Pigeon
Deep in the woods, Jiaang Lin, Qiu Xiya, Ji Zhong, and the others sprinted swiftly. Guided by Jiaang Lin, they were racing toward the spot where the Cloud Pigeon hadnded.
From a distance, they all could spot a vague white shadow on the ground. To these men, ustomed to daily encounters with wild beasts, the identity of the shadow was unmistakable.
¡°Good heavens! Big Brother Tie Ta, it¡¯s the Cloud Pigeon! The Immortal Master has truly in the Cloud Pigeon!¡±
Considering the shadow was over a hundred meters away and obscured by trees, the idea of killing a flying Cloud Pigeon seemed ludicrous to them. Yet, the sight of the Cloud Pigeon¡¯s body lying before them forced them to confront the reality.
?This revtion left them utterly astounded by Jiaang Lin¡¯s prowess.
¡°My god! Jiaang Lin! You¡¯ve actually hunted down the Cloud Pigeon from such an incredible distance!¡±
Qiu Xiya eximed in amazement, her eyes fixed on Jiaang Lin and the nearby corpse of the Cloud Pigeon.
¡°Was that move really an attack from a Martial Cultivator Level 6?¡± Ji Zhong was equally astonished by Jiaang Lin¡¯s throwing technique.
Everyone stared at Jiaang Lin¡¯s silhouette in awe, though his expression remained unchanged.
At that moment, Jiaang Lin¡¯s brow furrowed, and he murmured, ¡°Are there really people daring to try and steal my prey?¡±
Instantly, he activated his sprinting technique. In a mere heartbeat, he was already standing next to the Cloud Pigeon.
?Just then, a team emerged from the underbrush beside the Cloud Pigeon. Upon spotting Jiaang Lin, they instantly grew wary and tensed up.
¡°Who are you? We from South Mountain Vige are here to hunt; you lot of loafers need to clear off!¡±
One viger from South Mountain Vige red at Jiaang Lin with hostility, brandishing his spear threateningly in Jiaang Lin¡¯s direction.
Soon after, Jiaang Lin observed a dashing young man with a folding fan step forward, nked by an elder and another youth.
¡°What¡¯s the problem here?¡±
Zou Lieh, the young man with the folding fan, furrowed his brow as he looked at Jiaang Lin and questioned the vigers.
¡°Young Master, this kid just showed up next to the Cloud Pigeon. I think he¡¯s trying to steal the Cloud Pigeon we¡¯ve hunted!¡±
Meanwhile, in the forest behind Jiaang Lin, Qiu Xiya and her group had finally caught up.
As soon as Tie Ta and hispanions appeared, they immediately spotted Zou Lieh¡¯s team and hostility red up.
?¡±Hmm? Tie Ta?¡±
The middle-aged man next to Zou Lieh was taken aback when he saw Tie Ta, then a cold smirk spread across his face.
¡°Tie Ta, haven¡¯t I warned you before? From now on, you¡¯re only allowed to hunt wild rabbits on the outskirts of the forest. You¡¯re forbidden from hunting deeper in the mountains. How dare youe in here?¡±
¡°Zhang Wu, Green Mountain doesn¡¯t belong solely to your South Mountain Vige; it¡¯s also shared with other neighboring viges. Why are you so overbearing? Do you really intend to im Green Mountain as your own?¡± Tie Ta stared down Zhang Wu with defiance.
¡°Hmm?¡± Jiaang Lin¡¯s eyebrows lifted upon hearing Tie Ta¡¯s words.
¡°Tie Ta, you¡¯ve got some nerve. You didn¡¯t take my words to heart, and it seems you don¡¯t even regard our South Mountain Vige with any respect!¡± Zhang Wu scoffed. ¡°And now you even want to im the game we¡¯ve hunted as your own!¡±
¡°Tie Ta, is North Mountain Vige looking to start a war with our South Mountain Vige?¡± The elder standing beside Zhang Wu challenged.
Tie Ta¡¯s face darkened instantly.

Chapter 39
C39 ¨C Fighting
The residents of North Mountain Vige clenched their teeth and red fiercely at the folks from South Mountain Vige.
¡°Nonsense! We were the ones who killed the Cloud Pigeon. You¡¯re the ones trying to steal our catch!¡± Tie Ta bellowed in anger, though a hint of uncertainty flickered in his eyes.
At that moment, all the men of North Mountain Vige shared Tie Ta¡¯s sentiment, feeling somewhat sheepish.
¡°Perhaps the Cloud Pigeon was indeed hunted by someone from South Mountain Vige. After all, no matter how powerful the Immortal Master is, it seems improbable for him to urately strike and kill a fleeing Cloud Pigeon from such a distance and amidst so many obstacles, especially using stones as his weapon!¡±
Such were the thoughts running through the minds of the North Mountain Vige men.
Their looks towards Jiaang Lin were now tinged withplexity. They had believed in Jiaang Lin¡¯s strength, but they hadn¡¯t anticipated that he would lead them into such a grand misunderstanding. What¡¯s more, because of Jiaang Lin, they had managed to antagonize South Mountain Vige, a formidablemunity second only to thergest in the region.
Among the five viges near Green Mountain, North Mountain Vige was barely a blip. Indeed, its poption didn¡¯t even match that of a minor family from South Mountain Vige!
If North Mountain Vige truly angered South Mountain Vige, with its notorious reputation, they would be in for some serious trouble.
Furthermore, there were rumors of South Mountain Vige¡¯s ties with the Green Mountain Sect. Cultivators from the sect were said to be stationed in the vige year-round, and each year, exceptionally gifted youths from the vige were recruited directly into the Green Mountain Sect.
They recalled theirst hunting expedition into the mountains when they encountered Zhang Wu from South Mountain Vige. He had warned them against venturing into the mountain¡¯s inner reaches. Had it not been for Jiaang Lin¡¯s encouragement, they would never have dared to tread so far.
¡°Big Brother Tie Ta¡¡± Shen Danian subtly nudged Tie Ta from behind and called out softly.
Shen Danian was hinting at Tie Ta to back down, but Tie Ta, understanding Shen Danian¡¯s intent, chose to ignore it and kept his defiant gaze locked on Zhang Wu, convinced that the Cloud Pigeon was Jiaang Lin¡¯s quarry.
¡°Hmph! Tie Ta, it seems you¡¯ve grown weary of life!¡±
Zhang Wu¡¯s expression chilled as he sneered, ¡°Since you don¡¯t believe me, prepare to be disappointed!¡±
With that, Zhang Wu directed everyone¡¯s attention to Zou Lieh, who was observing the scene with a detached air, casually flicking his folding fan with an air of serene confidence.
¡°Take a good look! This is Young Master Zou Lieh of our South Mountain Vige, a prodigious disciple of the Green Mountain Sect. He has even been taken as a direct disciple by an elder of the sect, and his potential is boundless!¡±
Zhang Wu let out another coldugh and added, ¡°Young Master Zou Lieh employed an immortal technique to hunt down this Cloud Pigeon. Are you still going to insist that it was your North Mountain Vige that made the kill?¡±
¡°This¡¡±
Zhang Wu¡¯s challenge left all the men from North Mountain Vige speechless.
Just then, a crisp, disdainful voice cut through the tension.
¡°Hmph, as if any of you South Mountain Vige louts have any real talent,¡± Qiu Xiya said, casting a contemptuous nce at Zou Lieh. ¡°Hehe, South Mountain Vige must be so proud to have finally produced a sissy. Congrattions indeed!¡±
¡°What did you say?¡±
Zhang Wu and Shen Danian roared in response to Qiu Xiya¡¯s taunt.
But as they caught sight of Qiu Xiya¡¯s enchantingly beautiful face, they were momentarily transfixed, their minds seemingly ensnared by a swirling vortex.
Chapter 40
C40 ¨C You Are also a Martial Cultivator
Zou Lieh gazed at Qiu Xiya, captivated by her stunning and seductive presence. Yet, he only experienced a brief moment of dizziness before he regained hisposure. Despite this, he couldn¡¯t help but marvel inwardly at her beauty.
?¡±My goodness! Can there really be such a beautiful woman in such a tiny mountain vige?¡± he wondered in amazement.
?His gaze upon Qiu Xiya was predatory. Since joining the Green Mountain Sect, Zou Lieh had enjoyed a life of luxury in South Mountain Vige, and his family¡¯s status had risen significantly. He wielded considerable power; there was nothing in South Mountain Vige that he couldn¡¯t obtain. He had even toyed with many of the vige¡¯s lovely young women.
Upon seeing a woman of Qiu Xiya¡¯s extraordinary beauty, his desire surged. He was determined to have her in his room.
Almost immediately, a n formed in his mind.
¡°North Mountain Vige, just a tiny hamlet,¡± Zou Lieh said with a smirk. ¡°Zhang Wu, if they want the Cloud Pigeon, let them have it.¡±
¡°Young Master¡¡± Zhang Wu hesitated, reluctant.
¡°Give it to them!¡± Zou Liehmanded with a stern frown.
¡°Very well, Young Master,¡± Zhang Wu replied, his brow furrowed and teeth gritted. He instructed the vigers to clear a path and announced, ¡°Tie Ta, today¡¯s your lucky day. Young Master Zou Lieh, in a rare disy of generosity, is gifting you the Cloud Pigeon to enhance your meals. Aren¡¯t you going to thank him?¡±
The men from North Mountain Vige bristled at the gesture.
¡°Zhang Wu, this isn¡¯t about charity. I¡¯m presenting a betrothal gift!¡± Zou Lieh dered, his fan fluttering, a sly smile on his lips.
¡°A betrothal gift?¡±
The people of South Mountain Vige caught on to Zou Lieh¡¯s implication and burst into raucousughter, their gazes fixed on Qiu Xiya with suggestive smirks.
The men from North Mountain Vige were initially taken aback, but their expressions quickly soured.
Qiu Xiya appeared indifferent to Zou Lieh¡¯s words, but Ji Zhong, standing protectively behind her, immediately grew stone-faced.
Qiu Xiya¡¯sughter was charming and untroubled, her smile only broadening in response to Zou Lieh¡¯s words. She gracefully approached Jiaang Lin and affectionately looped her arms around his.
Looking at Zou Lieh, Qiu Xiya taunted, ¡°Do you, a man devoid of any masculinity, still wish to marry me? Perhaps you should take a good, hard look at yourself. Unless you can surpass my lover in both looks and strength, you¡¯ll never capture my affection!¡±
Zhang Wu bellowed, ¡°How dare you!¡± He continued, ¡°Young Master Zou Lieh is exceptionally gifted and has even been epted into the Green Mountain Sect. His affection for you should be considered a blessing. It¡¯s one thing not to appreciate that, but to scorn my master? Are you seeking death?¡±
Fury in his voice, Zhang Wu red daggers at Qiu Xiya. But in a sh, a tiny object transformed into a streak of light, shooting straight toward Zhang Wu¡¯s eyes.
The next second, Zhang Wu clutched his bleeding eyes, screaming in agony from the unbearable pain.
Jiaang Lin spoke with a calm but chilling tone, ¡°Not just anyone can show disrespect to my people, and certainly not to my woman.¡±
?The abrupt upheaval took Zou Lieh by surprise, but he quickly regained hisposure and asked, ¡°Are you also a martial cultivator?¡±
