《The Cats and the Elves》 Chapter 001 - Distorted baby senses *Ding! >>You Have Been Born!<< Fuck. God this headache. I whimpered in pain as I squirmed, my unresponsive body twisting in the arms of whoever was holding me. Bloody hell I can¡¯t even feel my fingers and toes! Complaining to whatever god existed I struggled to open my eyes and at least look at my surroundings. Jumbled noises echoed in my ears, murky and submerged as I struggled to make sense of the heavy world around me. Bloody fingers! What the hell happened? Maybe I turned into a vegetable state? No, body is now far too small for that. Someone''s gigantic fingers stroked my head as I was held in the crook of a soft arm. Definitely a baby¡ Fuck. Human? Maybe. I kind of hope I¡¯m something interesting like a beautiful elf. Right! Am I male or female? I can¡¯t even feel my crotch due to this damn underdeveloped body. Hope I¡¯m not a goblin, though growing fast would be nice. Ah! Right I died¡ somehow. Um¡ Murdered? Raped to death? Either are plausible but I can¡¯t seem to remember well. And stop rubbing your damn stubby face on me father-being! Pushing my arms out I scream in indignation, desperately trying to get the spiky cheek away from face and failing miserably. Someone pulled me away from spike-face, but all I could see was a blurry bunch of polygons vaguely resembling someone''s tan face. At least I determined it¡¯s not green, so goblin likelihood is decreased. Whoever it was handled me very gently, caressing my head softly and swaying side to side. Distorted yet calming humming soothed my anger and slowly I slipped off to sleep. Sleeping, waking, feeding from my mother¡¯s large breasts, screaming, getting my diaper changed, then sleeping once again makes up my routine. Sometimes I awake at night, and have to wake my parents guiltily as I suffer the horror of poop sliding between my legs. Othertimes I simply listen to my mother sing before falling asleep. I have been >Reincarnated<. Though my vision is still a kaleidoscope of blurry polygons and I can¡¯t feel my body. But besides that I am fine! Perfectly okay~ Tired alot though. Also my temper seems to be rather bad, even for a baby. Hopefully it wears off as I grow older, but I am not looking forward to childhood. Especially if I have to play with other kids. Children are evil, selfish, arrogant, back-stabbing little bastards. Sure their innocent but that¡¯s because they don¡¯t know guilt. Even I was a horrible child in my previous life, the memories make me balch at how evil I was. Chuunibyou was the least of my problems. At least I have about a dozen years before that starts. For now I will enjoy my ¡®peaceful¡¯ baby life and try to get over the shame of sucking my mother¡¯s nipples and shitting my pants. I mean bloody hell! She¡¯s a grown woman! I know it¡¯s not in a romantic sense but I feel bad! It¡¯s like cheating on a whim! *puahhh¡ I don¡¯t even understand the language yet¡ Recently I¡¯ve found out something peculiar; specifically, I have a status window.

Unfortunately I don¡¯t have any spirit companions yet, but the fact I can get them in the future caused excitement to boil in my tiny gut. However more importantly was that this window was like one of the game¡¯s I designed in my previous life as a trial! I made this! How dare someone steal my game system without asking! Not to mention use it for a whole world!? At least notify me first! Besides that I curiously noted my race, a mix between a caitsyth and elf, and after much struggling managed to at least confirm I have a fuzzy set of ears on top of my head. A few ¡®days¡¯ later and I realized I had a tail growing from my rear due to Mother affectionately stroking it. A few days of straining my senses in order to actually understand things around me coherently I started to be able to make out sounds, slowly starting to piece the jumbled language together. *Ding! >>Proficiency gained: Language Comprehension [B(2%)]<< Grinning I continued my work of collecting information, and a few months afterwards I reached level P, or proficient in Language Comprehension. Proudly I was able to understand the meaning behind most words of the language, and could fully understand conversations. My vision also improved to the point where I could see a few meters ahead of me. My mother is a beautiful tan elf with long straight black hair, sharp yet gentle features, loving almond eyes and a gently upward hooked nose. My father on the other hand is a large tabby caitsyth enforced with bulging muscles capable of tearing steel. His face is more of a cat¡¯s than a human¡¯s, hence the field of spikes when I was first born. He also towers over Mother by a good couple heads, I swear the tabby must have the blood of tigers! His furry hands are adorned with large, fearsome claws. Whenever he grins his sharp fangs glint in the sunlight. The fact he often carries around a katana as tall as him doesn¡¯t help! However I have amusedly discovered he¡¯s a big softy, often grinning like an idiot whenever he gets to hold me, often purring me to sleep when Mother isn¡¯t singing, making sure not to poke me with his claws, even cleaning my head with his rough tongue. Ah~ Being loved is the best~ I often find myself smiling and laughing in this new world, even as a baby, simply grinning happily as I interact with my parents. Slowly, time passed us by... Chapter 002 - A quick time skip Sighing happily I lazily swung my leg as I rested on a wizened oak branch, sunlight cascading between the leaves, birds curiously tweeting in the trees, and a butterfly peacefully resting on the tip of my toe. I am now a tan-skinned eleven year old little girl with short calico patterned hair, twin pointed cat ears, a long calico tail, and heterochromatic eyes; one with a slit pupil and orange iris, the other with a circular pupil and vivid forest green iris. The humble wooden house I live in is situated in the center of a forest clearing filled with mediocre monsters and various other creatures. According to Mother it is called ¡®The forest of Kieal¡¯, spanning several kilometers and comprised of old oak and maple trees. And best of all there is no other evil children! Though my Mother seems somewhat regretful of it I couldn¡¯t be happier! I live with parents that love me, a forest where I can gradually grow stronger, a nice house, no bloody children (besides me), and parents that actually love me! ¡°Jay!~ Lunch time~¡± A sweet melodious voice calls me from my perch and I lazily open my eyes and look down towards my beautiful mother with a sleepy smile. Warmth fills my chest at the sight of her loving face. ¡°Kay~¡± I respond and hop off the tree, landing and wobbling slightly as my afternoon nap slowly wears off. ¡°Jeez, you¡¯re just like your father..." Mother admonishes me with a wry smile. Gently petting my head she then leads me by the hand towards the house as I rid myself of the last bits of sleepiness. A amber wooden house quickly appears at the top of the hill, made of layered logs, a slightly slanted roof perfect for sunbathing, wooden shutters to keep out monsters, and various black runes carved around the base. Inside the cozy atmosphere of the house my Father was curled up under the window, his large tabby frame easily soaking in the large swath of sunlight. Mother sighed in exasperation, went up to him, and promptly bopped him on the head. ¡°Nyaaa¡ why¡?¡± My father looked at her with tears in his fearsome eyes. A vein twitch on mother¡¯s forehead, ¡°It¡¯s lunch time. Get up.¡± Sighing with a wry smile, my father complied and we sat down at the table to eat the various sandwiches my Mother homemade. The bread was made with white flour my Father buys every week at the town a couple dozen kilometers away, the meat and vegetables are from the monsters and plants in the forest Mother collects. ¡°Jay,¡± My father calls as soon as we finish lunch and I curiously look at him. ¡°Your twelfth birthday is tomorrow, and me and your Mom will be taking you to the village to have your spirit awakened.¡± My ears perked up and I excitedly stood up in my chair, ¡°Really!?¡± I will make my first friend soon! A wide grin spreads across my face. ¡°Jay! Sit down already!¡± Mother reprimands, waving her finger side to side. ¡°Sorry Mom¡¡± I sheepishly scratched my cheek with a claw as I collapsed back in my seat. Father heartily laughed, ¡°Well, I¡¯m excited as well, we¡¯ll finally see what type of spirit has been growing in our daughter.¡± His eyes twinkled, ¡°Not to mention she¡¯ll finally be able to acquire a class.¡± He grinned before looking at me curiously, ¡°Speaking of, how¡¯s your status right now?¡± He asked causing mother¡¯s pointed ears also twitched attentively. Grinning I open my status and ¡®share¡¯ it with them.

¡°Level 74! ...Jay~¡± Mother angrily stared at while I twiddled my thumbs with an innocent expression. ¡°I told you not to go hunting without alerting me or your father! How far did you go this time!?¡± ¡°...Only to the small wolf dungeon¡¡± I answered glumly. Mother stared at me in shock, meanwhile father was desperately trying to hold in his laughter. Giving dad a quick glare she looked back at me and sighed before glancing at my status window with a cramped face, ¡°...you didn¡¯t even spend your stat points¡¡± ¡°You told me not to!¡± ¡°You went into the dungeon of Riur! What weapon did you even bring with you!?¡± I turned my head away from Mother¡¯s gaze, ears twitching ontop of my head as I tried to look as innocent as possible. ¡°Ja~y~...¡± ¡°Hahaha!¡± Father finally burst out laughing before pacifying mother with a pat on the head, ¡°She took the short sword I bought for her practice.¡± I stiffened and timidly looked at my father, ¡°did you-¡± ¡°Find it broken, hidden under a rock?¡± Father grinned showing his teeth and I laughed dryly. ¡°Well, we¡¯ll have to buy you a new one to withstand your attacks.¡± ¡°Dear!¡± Father grinned and scratched behind Mother¡¯s ear, earning a stifled moan of pleasure, ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it darling. She¡¯s turning twelve anyway so we might as well finally teach her how to fight properly.¡± ¡°Really!¡± I excitedly stood on my chair and leaned over the table. ¡°Hahaha~! Sit down, sit down.¡± He smirked, ¡°We¡¯ll have to teach you how to maintain your own weapons as well. Also,¡± He turned to mother who was struggling not to pout at the removal of his hand, ¡°You¡¯ll need to teach Jay how to properly use magic after her spirit awakens. Mana manipulation just isn¡¯t going to cut it, especially considering someone has a tendency to run off for a fight.¡± He said while smirking at me. Mother nodded with a sigh while I timidly scratched my own ear. My tail however was weaving back in forth in excitement. I can finally learn proper magic! I repressed a grin. Chapter 003 - Power Unleashed I whirled my head around to take in as much of the village as possible while grinning happily. ¡°Jay, calm down¡¡± Mother tapped me on the head with a wry smile. ¡°But everything is new~¡± I sang happily and continued observing the peaceful surroundings. All the houses were of inferior quality to ours, mostly just wooden beams bolted together with the occasional window. Surrounding the hundred houses was a 2 meter tall roughly circular wooden wall with two gates at opposite ends of the village. Before long we arrived in the center, a slightly larger house standing imposingly over a hunched old man and three children about my age. Two of them were female like me, one being a slightly haughty elf, sparing me only a glance before snorting, and the other a curious wolfkin, her brown tail excitedly waving behind her. The last child was a timid human male with pitch black hair. My father waved towards the old man, ¡°Hello Maximus.¡± The old man smirked, ¡°Ho Alix. Finally letting your daughter into the village eh?¡± ¡°Ye,¡± Father grinned and gave me a little push towards Maximus, ¡°Make sure she gets a good class and spirit kay?¡± Mother sighed and inched dad¡¯s arm, ¡°Dear you know he has no say in that matter.¡± ¡°Ye! Listen to your wife!¡± The old man cheered before being glared at by Mom. ¡°Right right.¡± Waving his hands to pacify her he gestured to all of the children gathered before hobbling into the building, ¡°Com¡¯on, let¡¯s get this started shall we?¡± Glancing at the other children I hurriedly ran after the elder, each of them following behind me. In a few moments we reached an empty room with nothing but a crystal floating in the center. So that would be town core? ¡°Alright,¡± Max clapped his hands together with a smile, ¡°first off anything that you four see in this room can not be talked about with anyone besides your parents, Understood?¡± We all nodded our heads, though elf-girl still seemed a bit snotty. ¡°Good! Now then who wants to go first?¡± Elf-girl stepped forward immediately, sending a challenging glance at the rest of us, to which I merely rolled my eyes and wolf-girl snorted in amusement. ¡°Alright Silvia, please place your hand on the crystal.¡± Without sparing the elder another glance she confidently placed her hand her hand over the soft blue crystal and the elder manipulated a window accessible only to town lords. Raising his hand up he brought it down quickly, ¡°Assess!¡± *Fwirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Light poured out of the crystal and gathered around elf-girl, spinning round and round till it took the shape of a green serpent with four feathered wings. A haughty smile grew on the girl¡¯s face as she read the windows only she could see before she sent a triumphant glance over at us. Max leaned forward and inspected the serpent. ¡°A dragon type, congratulations.¡± Elf-girl nodded as if it was expected and walked back to her spot, the green dragon coiling around her as it haughtingly looked down on the surroundings like its owner. ¡°Next?¡± Max asked, and wolf-girl pushed the timid human up to the crystal. A few seconds later light gathered around him and took the form of a small, lazy brown cat sleeping on his shoulder. ¡°An earth spirit, congratulations.¡± Human-boy nodded and excitedly scratched the cat under the chin. Elf-girl looked disdainfully at the boy who timidly flinched away from her gaze. ¡°Alright, Jay or Fira, which one of you will be going next?¡± Fira eh? Me and her shared a glaring contest before she sighed and went up to the crystal. Curiosity and anticipation quickly filled her eyes and she tentatively placed her hand on the crystal. Brighter light than before erupted from the crystal and surrounded Fira, dancing around her and finally settling down on the form of a snowy wolf with saber-tooth fangs jutting out of its upper jaw. ¡°A fenrir!¡± Max exclaimed and excitedly leaned towards it only to get a snort of cold air in his face. Fira smiled happily and scratched the wolf behind the ears before gloating at elf-girl, who in turn merely frowned and looked away with a ¡°humph!¡± ¡°Jay, your turn to summon a spirit.¡± Max called out as Fira walked back to her spot. Excitedly I skipped up to the stone and placed my hands on it. *ding! The crystal under my hand trembled then erupted with potent light dying my surroundings white.

Blinking the light out of my eyes I turned to find my spirits beside me. Both were humanoid females, one clad completely in magmic metal knights armor with glowing white eyes, a large silver sword with a glowing golden hilt strapped to her waist. the other was adorned with a mage robe made of blue ice, her skin the smooth and soft like snow, with a gale of wind spreading behind her like wings. Her pupil was made of glowing blue ice with a pitch black iris. ¡°¡°Greetings Master.¡±¡± They both spoke eloquently. Their mere presence filled me with power, and I could feel both their presences and emotions. Both were filled with light happiness at being born, and though they didn¡¯t show it both were actively taking in the surroundings. ¡°D-dual spirits¡¡± I looked over to find Max looking at both of them in a daze. ¡°Also at least rank three¡¡± ¡°Uhm, Max?¡± I asked curiously. Shaking himself out of his stupor he guestured for me to take my place among the others. ¡°Now then,¡± He coughed into his fist. ¡°With this you all are officially of age. From now on you are responsible for your own actions. While not completely out of your parents protection you are considered adults, make your choices wisely.¡± With that he quickly taught us how to desummon our spirits and told us at the age of 17 we could go get another spirit at any crystal with access to a spirit forge, then quickly ushured us out. Along the way Fira tapped my shoulder, ¡°Heyhey, your spirits look cool. Let¡¯s be friends!¡± She said while holding onto my side. Both Asura and Seraph went on high alert at her closeness, luckily I had already unsummoned them or they might have tried to remove her. On the other hand is making friends that easy? Fira looked at me and tilted her head, her tail wagged back and forth behind her. ¡°Is something the matter?¡± She doesn¡¯t seem like a bad kid... I shook my head in amazement, ¡°Nope. When do you want to play?¡± A big toothy grin spread across her face and her tail caused the air to hum. ¡°Don¡¯t know! Anytime I guess~¡± I grinned, ¡°Then should we explore the town a bit?¡± She tilted and scratched her head, further disorganizing her short haired bed head. ¡°Sure. Though I¡¯ve already explored the town¡¡± ¡°Ah, whoops.¡± I shrugged my shoulders. ¡°It¡¯s my first time being in the town, me and my parents live in a house in the forest.¡± ¡°Eh!?¡± Fira looked at me in alarm, ¡°But there¡¯s monsters out there!?¡± I tilted my head. ¡°Yeah, but they''re pretty weak.¡± ¡°Weak!?¡± She looked at me in amazement, ¡°OiOi, Have you actually fought them?¡± ¡°Yup. Though my parents don¡¯t like me doing it without telling them.¡± I answered nonchalantly. Fira trembled and hugged my arm tighter with sparkling eyes. ¡°Take me monster hunting!¡± She demanded with fevor. I laughed and puffed out my chest. ¡°Okay! But first we have to get my parents permission. Also,¡± I thought for a moment as I looked Fira up and down. ¡°We need to get you some weapons. I¡¯ll teach you to fight while we¡¯re at it.¡± ¡°Really!?¡± ¡°Sure why not? Though no going to high level areas.¡± She threw a fist in the air, ¡°Alright!¡± ¡°I demand that you take me as well!¡± ¡°No.¡± ¡°W-Wha!?¡± I turned and frowned at the elf-girl. ¡°It¡¯ll be hard enough to defend Fira alone, not to mention you are completely haughty and arrogant. So as I said; No.¡± My tail twitched in annoyance as we left the stunned elf-girl behind. Meanwhile Fira was struggling to hold in her laughter. I grinned and pulled her towards my parents as we exited the building. ¡°Hey Mom! Dad! Can I bring Fira monster hunting!¡± I excitedly stood infront of them with Fira. Dad grinned and leaned over to examine Fira, ¡°Hoh, so you want to hunt monsters little miss?¡± Fira trembled under his gaze and Mother jabbed his side before turning to me, ¡°Can you protect her?¡± She asked, and I nodded confidently. ¡°Leave it to me!¡± Mother sighed and nodded, ¡°First though we need to buy you a new sword since you broke the old one. While were at it is there a particular weapon you want Fira?¡± ¡°I-I can get a weapon?¡± Fira¡¯s tag hummed in the air and her eyes sparkled. Mother smiled kindly, ¡°Of course, we wouldn¡¯t let you fight monsters without one.¡± ¡°Then¡ Then¡ Um¡¡± Fira made a complicated expression causing mother to laugh. ¡°How about we go to the weapon shop and you can decide after looking at them?¡± ¡°Un!¡± I grinned, my first friend and team mate! Alright let¡¯s go~ It was then I realized I broke my rule of not playing with other children. What is happening to Meeee~~ Chapter 004 - Firas Circumstance Jay P.O.V While walking through the thinner parts of the forest with Fira I was seriously considering if my body affected my mentality. I had promised myself not to go around other children so I didn¡¯t have to deal with the little backstabbing bastards, yet I easily accepted this little wolf girl as my friend! Bad Jay! ¡°Um, Jay?¡± Fira timidly called out to me. ¡°Yeah?¡± ¡°Are you angry at me?¡± Huh? I turned towards her in surprise to find her trembling slightly. My heart lurched and instantly I was at her side petting her pitiful ears, ¡°No, I¡¯m mad about something else.¡± I gave her a bright smile, ¡°Just need to work off some steam. Let¡¯s find some monsters alre-¡± ¡°Grrooo~¡± ¡°Ah! Our first customer!¡± I grinned at the pack of wolves eyeing us with hunger. Fira behind me readied her spear, the tip shaking with her anxiety. ¡°Relax Fira~¡± The wolves started to circle us and my eyes glinted. Twisting my foot I shot off towards the right and pierced the circling wolf with my brand new sword. Instantly I was running towards the three in the front, leaving the one on the left to Fira for the moment. The wolves tried to jump out of the way but two still met the tip of my sword, gently slicing through their throats. Even though the attack was gentle and fluid their bodies shook as if I struck them with a shock wave and they dropped dead. The last lunged at me and I gently side stepped and kicked out my foot, my boot smashing into the side of its head with a liquid squelch, sending the wolf careening into a tree. Turning around I looked to Fira and the last wolf, finding them both looking at me while shaking. The wolf moved first and growled menacingly at me, Fira moved next and thrust her spear towards the wolf, catching it in the jaw with a crack. The wolf yelped and turned tail, but before it could get further I had already approached its side and fluidly severed its head. *ping~ >>You have leveled up three times! Your party member Fira has leveled up six times!<< ¡°Muo~ Why¡¯d you level up more~¡± I asked while pouting. ¡°No, isn¡¯t how much I leveled up normal?¡± Fira rebuked instantly. I tilted my head in confusion. ¡°Normal?¡± Fira nodded vigorously, ¡°Those wolves were all level 20! And we both just got our classes! Exactly what level did you get your novice!?¡± ¡°Umu, seventy-four I believe.¡± She stared at me in shock, ¡°s-seventy four¡ Are you crazy!?¡± ¡°Is something the matter?¡± ¡°Of course!¡± She pointed at me, ¡°That level should be impossible for a novice! You would have to constantly fight monsters of a similar or higher level who would generally have double your stats! Novice only gains a half a stat point for each per level!¡± ¡°So?¡± I shrugged, ¡°You just have to cut them alot. Or if you lose your weapon, break their necks, suffocate them, etcetera. There¡¯s alot of ways to fight even if you don¡¯t match in stats.¡± She stared at me with a dry laugh before continuing. ¡°Anyway, certain classes should level at different speeds. The more powerful a class the slower it levels.¡± She sighed and looked at me enviously, ¡°Getting novice to that high of a level probably rewarded you with a very good class.¡± I shrugged, ¡°Not like it matters much to me. Shall we go hunt some more?¡± ¡°Can we only fight one at a time?¡± ¡°Sure.¡± I responded while walking from corpse to corpse, using the loot command to retrieve items from the corpses. Of course the items were nowhere as good as manually skinning and collecting, but I didn¡¯t have the tools for that at the moment. Storing the collected items in my inventory Fira and I headed slightly deeper into the forest. Meanwhile I realized I had completely switched into friend mode again. Haa It¡¯s no use it. Well maybe having a friend will be good for me¡? I stopped myself from grimacing. If she is anything like all the other people I have met¡ I sighed, Well I am the product of a seemingly healthy relationship in this world, so maybe it¡¯ll turn out alright? Fira P.O.V Wah~ Jay is amazing~ I stared in amazement as she easily defeated several goblins in the span of several moments, her attacks flowed like water yet she moved like wind. And as far as I know she wasn¡¯t even using any magic to boost her attacks! ¡°Guba!¡± ¡°oh, oops~¡± I thrust my spear at the goblin I was left with, it jumped wildly out of the way and I stepped back to give myself space. ¡°Snowy!¡± ¡°Hou!¡± My spirit pounced on the goblins back and bit into its neck, but his fangs failed to pierce through the goblins wiry muscles. Jay doesn¡¯t even have to use her spirits, well she¡¯s abnormal though¡ I brought my spear point down on its head as hard as I could- my hands numbing momentarily upon hitting bone- unelegantly crushing its skull. *Ping~ >>You have leveled up eight times. Your spirit has leveled up three times. Your friend Jay has leveled up two times.<< I sighed in relief then looked over to find Jay casually looting the goblin corpses, the only blood on her spotting her boots from where she kicked their heads around. I smiled wryly at the scene and looted the two goblins I had managed to kill. I really have made an amazing friend¡ My tail started wagging. Oops, have to stop that. But Jay is really cool~ ¡°Umu, maybe I should let my spirits do some of the fighting to level them up?¡± Jay wondered outloud while looking at my spirit. I grinned and my tail whirred in the air, ¡°Probably, or else my spirit is going to leave your two behind in level.¡±Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. She pouted, ¡°You already have passed me in level¡¡± I smiled wryly and chose not to point out the fact her stats were probably much higher despite her lower level. Honestly who actually manages to reach level 74 as a novice¡ With a thought Jay easily summons her two spirits and Snowy growls a bit nervously. Their presences are breath taking, one a shining knight encased in armor of magma, the other a dark angel with wings made of gale and skin of snow. Each exude massive amounts of power, and if they are anything like my fenrir then Jay¡¯s stats are probably augmented when they are summoned. My tail wagged as I gazed at them, both were taller than me by a few heads, and Jay was a head shorter than me. My friend is really powerful. My tail beat the air behind me. I want to be that powerful. For a few more hours we hunted goblins leisurely, easily bringing my level up another five, snowy¡¯s three and both Jay¡¯s spirits leveled up to six. Jay¡¯s spirits were extremely powerful, both probably higher ranked than my own. Gently the sun started tipping towards the horizon. ¡°Shall we return to the village for now?¡± My mood plummeted at Jay¡¯s innocent question, ¡°It¡¯s getting dark and my parents would be mad if I didn¡¯t get you home properly.¡± ¡°Sure.¡± Please, I don¡¯t want to go home. ¡°Shall we start heading back?¡± I asked with a smile. ¡°Un.¡± Jay nodded and smiled brilliantly, her cute tail lazily swishing back and forth behind her. Desummoning her spirits she ran up and grabbed my free hand. Smiling I ran back through the forest with her, the town walls coming into sight all too soon. Her parents waved to us from the gate, and with a grin Jay increased her speed to meet them but slow enough that I could keep up with a little effort. I enviously looked at her mother as Jay embraced her. Suddenly I felt a presence by my side, and found her father staring down at me. I flinched away from his gaze, my tail drooping as my body unconsciously trembled. Slowly I felt him reach for my head, my heart seemed to echo unearthly in my chest- *pat pat*- Eh? ¡°Little one,¡± His head was near my ear, his voice coming in a warm whisper as to not let Jay or her Mother hear, ¡°If you ever need help, come ask me. You are my daughters friend, do not hesitate.¡± And then he was standing tall again with a smile, his warm hand gently scritching behind my ear before separating. ¡°W-Well, I better get home!¡± I stuttered out. ¡°Eh? Want me to walk you there?¡± Jay curiously asked. I hurriedly shook my head. ¡°No. I¡¯ll be fine on my own, cya!¡± I turned and ran. ¡°Hey! Want to go hunting together tomorrow!?¡± Jay called out behind me. I grinned and waved, ¡°Sure, bye!¡± And I sped through the town, quickly reaching the hidden alcove behind my father¡¯s house. Placing my new spear and armor inside I desperately tried to calm myself as I walked around the house and as quietly as possible, opened the door. Peeking inside only darkness greeted me. Sighing in relief I stepped in quietly and shut the door, making an audible click. ¡°Shu yer final humeeee.¡± I stiffened and and whirled around to the door handle. But before I could turn it a greasy furry hand painfully grabbed my tail and yanked me away. The overpowering stench of alcohol burned my nose, tears gathered in my eyes as I was shoved to the floor. Jay¡ Violently my pant buckle was gripped and torn apart. Help¡ For those wondering, this is Fira¡¯s current status;

Chapter 005 - Status Update Changed a few things in the mechanics because I felt like it. *Cough* whole status table *Cough*
Jay P.O.V The early morning sun shone down on the hundred or so houses of Gninnigeb, illuminating the tiny chirping birds sitting on rooftops and tree branches as I ran towards where Max had told me Fira¡¯s house was located. Spotting it by the sheds surrounding it I grinned and ran closer, before coming to a halt a few meters away. The faint smell of blood and something else wafted out from underneath the door. My eyes narrowed and I approached the door, one of my hands on the hilt of my sword as various scenarios bolted through my head. Ignoring the need to knock I opened the door; inside lay Fira, naked and tossed into the wall like ragdoll. White goop slipped out between her legs and she was bleeding from several cuts on her body. Instantly I felt my blood boil. ¡°Hur the hell!?¡± An old wolfkin stood up dizzily from the couch, his body reeking of alcohol and Fira¡¯s blood. Fira¡¯s. My jaw pulled back and I snarled. My Fira¡¯s. ¡°Don¡¯t thunk ya can do tha--¡± *thunk Ignoring the spray of blood I sheathed my sword and dodged around the falling corpse to Fira. Gently I grabbed her old pair of pants and wiped the stuff away from her privates. Dimly her body twitched, but failed to wake up. Considering the dent in the wall near her head she probably has a concussion. Suppressing my bloodlust I searched the house; nearly exploding when I find an almost completely empty room filled with Fira¡¯s scent with nothing but a small blanket in the corner. Taking the blanket I came back and wrapped Fira with it then carried her out of the house. Let¡¯s see, Max will probably be the most helpful in this circumstance. Ignoring the fact I just killed someone who was probably her father I ran to Max¡¯s house and kicked the door a couple times to get his attention. Opening the door he sniffed slightly before focusing on Fira, ¡°Come inside and tell me what happened.¡± Stepping in I looked around and brought Fira to a couch where Max started to cast magic. Fira¡¯s body visibly lost tension as the golden light fell on her and I breathed a sigh of relief before turning to Max, ¡°Some guy, probably her father, raped her in her own house. I found her tossed to the side with a couple of cuts. The man himself was in a chair reeking of alcohol and Fira¡¯s blood. He tried to stop me when I went in.¡± I stated and looked the elder in the eye challengingly, ¡°He¡¯s dead now.¡± Max looked at me strangely then sighed. ¡°Nothing to be done about it now.¡± He shook his head, ¡°Honestly you¡¯re just like your father.¡± ¡°I get told that alot by mom.¡± ¡°Uuu¡¡± Fira moaned from the couch and trembled as she dizzily woke up. Instantly I was by her side and petting her ears. ¡°...Jay¡?¡± She blearily looked at me through squinted eyes.This story originates from a different website. Tears gathered in her eyes, ¡°You¡ saw?¡± I nodded and embraced her. Slowly sobs shook her body, ¡°...I¡¯m so dirty¡¡± She whispered between chokes. Gently I used my fingers to loosen the muscles in her back, ¡°You¡¯re not dirty. You are Fira. And he will no longer be able to hurt you.¡± ¡°...Why?¡± She asked, sobbing quietly, ¡°Why would you help me when I¡¯m so dirty?¡± ¡°You¡¯re not dirty. You are my friend.¡± I repeated softly while continuing to massage her back. Slowly sobs should her body, all the while I gently held her in my arms. Eventually Fira settled into a fitful slumber, her tiny claws warmly digging into my skin as she desperately held onto me like a child after a nightmare. I sighed, that description might not be far off. ¡°Is she alright?¡± Jack somberly asked from the old wooden doorway. I nodded and pulled Fira further into my embrace. Jack sighed, ¡°I had a trusted guard head to Huan¡¯s house and confirm.¡± He shook his head. ¡°Will I have to worry about killing the damn man?¡± ¡°No. If anything once the village knows what he has been doing they will thank you for it. The problem now is what to do with Fira. Normally she would come to me as an orphan, but¡¡± ¡°She might not be comfortable around men, correct?¡± I said and gently brushed her hair, her face softening slightly as my fingers passed over it. ¡°I¡¯m surprised you can think of that idea, much less understand it.¡± I cocked an eyebrow at him, ¡°Isn¡¯t normal for people to have an adverse reaction to things that harmed them?¡± He chuckled quietly, ¡°Yes, but generally adults don¡¯t even tend to pay attention to such details.¡± He sighed and scratched his chin, ¡°Not to mention children.¡± I snorted disdainfully but kept my mouth shut. ¡°Anyway, what do you think we should do with her.¡± ¡°Obviously have her come live with me.¡± I proclaimed, arrogantly daring him to challenge me with a glare. He rubbed the bridge of his nose, ¡°Fine, but you¡¯ll have to talk to your parents and I don¡¯t know how she¡¯ll react to your father.¡± ¡°Deal.¡± I nodded in confirmation. And immediately after that- ¡°What the hell!?¡± I shouted and Fira stirred in her sleep. ¡°Hoh, a status update? So they do exist...¡± Jack muttured in surprise. ¡°Status update?!¡± It can¡¯t be that can it? ¡°Hey heyhey, Jack was there other types of status¡¯ before? And what were they like?¡± I asked worriedly as the bell continued to ring from everywhere. He shrugs as he watched the open sky through a window, ¡°Don¡¯t know, according to legend we only know of two; both of which happened hundreds of thousands of years ago.¡± Gradually white mist seemed to overtake everything and dull my senses, and eventually completely overtook me, my surroundings and Fira disappearing into the void. *ting~ ¡°Yoohoo little darling~¡± I tried to respond to the female voice and found I couldn¡¯t speak or move. ¡°Ah, don¡¯t worry about that. But I should probably thank you for these awesome ideas~ Anyway since I reincarnated you and your old enough I figured I should update this world to the status of your most recent game~ Enjoy your life~¡± Wait! What the fuck!? And with a pop I found myself back in the world, Fira wildly grasping onto me as she looked around in surprise. Chapter 006 - Second Status I blinked in confusion before I muttered, ¡°Status...¡± *ting~

I sighed as I looked over the new status window. So it is like my latest game. This means that proficiencies are all hidden, and I had no way to gauge my progress by percentages. Though since that game was backwards compatible all my proficiencies should be here, just hidden. And restricted. ¡°W-what just happened?¡± Fira stuttered as her eyes wildly roamed around the room. ¡°Status update.¡± I said bitterly as I continued to look over my status window. What the hell is this? Unlimited blade works? Well considering it is a system I made based off of that character¡ I sighed, who exactly was that voice? The sense of familiarity is gnawing on my heart like a ¡®supposedly¡¯ neglected kitten. ¡°Eh? Systems?¡± Fira pondered outloud as she laid curled up in my arms, one hand free and poking around at her invisible status window. ¡°This is somewhat disturbing. Well we can expect a massive upheaval with this.¡± Jack said with a sigh. ¡°Luckily it doesn¡¯t seem to have changed too much. But what exactly are systems?¡± I could answer that, but it would bring about questions I don¡¯t want to answer. ¡°Well, no use pondering about it.¡± I said off handedly before happily focusing on the bundle of warmth in my arms, ¡°So Fira, I kind of killed your father. Do you want to live with me now?¡± I felt her stiffen unnaturally and heard the slap of jack¡¯s palm hitting his forehead as he mumbled something about tact. Fira trembled and looked at me, slightly hope flickering in her eyes. ¡°I-is he really gone now? I don¡¯t have to be¡ be¡¡± I smiled, bent down and gently kissed her forehead. ¡°No one will hurt you. I will make sure of that. And if they somehow do...¡± My eyes glinted for a second, ¡°Then I will end them.¡± Yandere? What is that? Is it tasty? Tears gathered in her eyes again as she buried her face in my flat bosom to hide them. ¡°So, you found out she was raped by her father, killed him, then offered for her to live with us?¡± My mother said with a sigh as she pressed her thumb into forehead. Meanwhile my father was trying not laugh. She leveled him a glare, ¡°Don¡¯t smirk, she inherited your bad habits.¡± ¡°Which make me all the more lovable.¡± He said with a grin, a purr rumbling in his chest as his tail twitched behind him. ¡°And also intolerable.¡± Mother stated blandly before turning back to me and the sleeping Fira, her head resting in my lap. ¡°So we will take her in?¡± Father asked with a smirk. ¡°Of course, like we would do anything else.¡± Mother said with a small smile, which turned into a frown as she looked at me, ¡°Jay, do you know what you have done?¡± I nodded. ¡°Killed someone who was clearly poisonous to the village and especially Fera. Delivered justice and took in one who needed it.¡± My eyes flashed, ¡°And defended my friend above all else.¡± ¡°W-well¡¡± Mother¡¯s frown cramped and dad burst out laughing. ¡°It¡¯s not funny!¡± She yelled while hitting him, ¡°Our daughter just ruthlessly executed someone and you¡¯re laughing!¡± ¡°It¡¯s fine! It¡¯s fine! She did with good intentions.¡± He waved his arms to placate mom. ¡°It¡¯s not fine! What if our daughter becomes a murderer!¡± ¡°Well she did already kill someone.¡± ¡°You¡¯re not helping!¡± ¡°Hahahaha~¡± Mother sighed and shook her head, her ears twitching in annoyance before she turned to me, ¡°Jay, you can¡¯t just kill people even if they deserve it.¡± ¡°Why not?¡± I asked with a frown. Truthfully I guess there could be repercussions if I didn¡¯t remove all witnesses¡ ¡°Jay¡¡± She sighed again and shook her head, ¡°Just make sure not to kill people who don¡¯t deserve it.¡± I snorted, ¡°Obviously. Killing innocents is evil.¡± *bop ¡°Ow~¡± ¡°Watch your attitude.¡± Mom berated while I clutched my head. ¡°Anyway,¡± She kindly looked at the peacefully sleeping Fira in my lap, ¡°Shall we take her home?¡±
