《The Legendary Gamer》 The Legendary Gamer - Prologue Gregory Neal Frost looked up from his computer as his mother called him down for dinner; he was in the middle of a real-time dungeon raid in his favorite MMORPG. He was one of the game¡¯s strongest characters, and was attempting this dungeon with his friends. His mother usually had no problems with his gaming habits, as he maintained good grades in school, but today was different. A family friend was coming for dinner, and she wanted to make sure Greg was down early to greet them. Gregory was some of the biggest talk in the family; he was smart and somewhat athletic, being quite skilled at soccer and easily remaining top of his class in high school. The real problem was that his video games consumed huge amounts of his time, and his mom said that if he didn¡¯t stop, he¡¯d end up in one. Gregory then told his friends that his mother started bugging him about dinner and that meant a maximum of fifteen more minutes before she pulled the internet. He then quickly scrolled through his spell list and cast a legendary level AOE spell which brought the life of all enemies in the area down to 10% of remaining health, and brought his party¡¯s health up by the amount taken divided by the number of players. Filling up his team¡¯s health bars, he killed three of the enemies to boost his mana back to full through a mana drain passive in his skill list. His friends then clicked on the dungeon door, to see that it was the boss room. Greg smiled in his chair at home, the final dungeon currently in the game, and he and his friends would be the first to overcome it. Everybody in the party quickly clicked accept when they saw the notification, and were transported to the boss dungeon. Gregory quickly double cast the legendary spell he had just previously cast, instantly bringing the bosses health down to just 1% of its maximum. Unfortunately, the monster also had a unique passive that boosted all stats by 1000% below 10% health, which meant that the monster would now be almost unstoppable. As his friends were acting as his meat shield and current sword, Gregory had his character consume mana potions to restore the mana he had just spent. Even though his character was the strongest in the game, he still had limited resources. His character¡¯s wisdom stat allowed him to regenerate all lost mana in just two minutes of real life time, but legendary spells could still only be cast three time per day each. Fortunately, Gregory had just learned another legendary spell before entering the dungeon, the first character to have even one legendary skill now had three. He cast the spell, freezing the boss monster for a full minute. He then switched to a sword and activated the third legendary skill he had. It only worked below 5% opponent health, and required a full minute of channeling, but would instantly kill any opponent in the game. Starting the channel, his friends continued to attack the beast, barely keeping its health down with the massive regeneration it has. Just as the skill finished channeling, the monster unfroze. It began the attack, but a second too late; Gregory¡¯s skill unleashed and the monster dropped to 0 health. While his friends congratulated him, Gregory looked at the rewards he got. He sighed somewhat, there were two more legendary skill books, which were untradeable and considered the most powerful items in the game. He instantly consumed them and then traded out the armor he got from the kill before his mom would turn off the internet. His friends looked at their rewards with awe, as previously Greg had conquered dungeons solo, they had no idea what kind of rewards were dropped by the upper level dungeons. As he got off, his mom once again called and said that she was turning off the internet if he wasn¡¯t down in a minute. He quickly logged off the game, and went to wash up in the bathroom. As he came down the stairs, his mother looked at him, making sure everything was in order. His hair was still in its usually spiky appearance, almost entirely white with a few small black streaks. He was wearing the evening suit he was requested to wear when company was over; a slim fit three-piece gray suit, with a shirt of his choice, which happened to be dark blue tonight, along with a tie that has dark blue, gray, and purplish lines going diagonally across it. He sat at the table, waiting for the company and father to arrive before dinner would start. A minute later, they walked in through the front door, Gregory saw his uncle come in. This wasn¡¯t just any uncle though, it was his European uncle who rarely came over, having last visited thirteen years ago leaving very little to Greg¡¯s memory. He got up to greet them, before retaking the seat at the table for dinner. As usual, his parents boasted over him, but his uncle showed little interest for it, almost as if expecting at least this much. That was one thing that always made Gregory wonder, why did relative from his father¡¯s side always seem so expectant of him. His mother¡¯s side always swooned over his skills, from intellect to athletics, they thought him to be almost superhuman. Stolen story; please report. Still though, once he finished eating, he got up and cleaned off his plate before heading to the den to await the rest of his family. Once he got there, his uncle followed behind him and said ¡°16 now, same age as your father and I were when we were considered adults by the family.¡± Gregory looked at him almost confused, wondering where 16 constituted adults in the recent past. His father then followed in and said ¡°You needn¡¯t tell him yet of what he is, let¡¯s just use a small memory spell for now.¡± His father then moved quickly and tapped Greg on the forehead, causing him to forget these past few minutes as if nothing had happened. He had a moment of confusion before he figured that he had just nodded off for a moment and missed his father and uncle entering the room. His father then spoke again ¡°Well, I will need to be heading to Europe for some family business; I can¡¯t say when I will be back, but I will be. I have already informed your mother, and that is why your uncle has come today.¡± Before giving Gregory any time to speak, he and his brother quickly left through the front door. Walking to the kitchen, he asked his mother ¡°Any idea when father will be returning?¡± His mother responded almost immediately ¡°Not right now, though I do hope he will call within at least a week to give some answer.¡± He then asked his mother another question ¡°Has he left before like this?¡± She gave no response but looked longingly out the window, indicating that there had been another time that this had happened. Greg then went up to his room, and checked his phone. His friends had texted him a few times since the raid had given them such good items. There were messages about how they had gotten weapons with attack powers that would wipe out any monster they had previously faced, and other texts that said the armor would make them almost invincible to any threat. Although Greg knew that the items were powerful, he was able to create his own legendary items in the game that were even more powerful and even class specific to give even larger benefits. Still though, he appreciated that his friends were thankful to him for the items and bringing them along. Heading to his bed, he saw a notification in his upper right field of vision. Moving his finger there, it enlarged and filled the center of his vision; it wrote out ¡®An addiction to games and your two families lineage¡¯s have given you a unique ability. You are now no longer the sum of their parts, but greater. You are a ¡°LEGENDARY GAMER.¡±¡¯ Please give feedback. I will keep on writing if I get some positive feedback about this. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 1 (Am I OP?) Greg looked at the window in front of his eyes, not sure what to think about it. Something deep down told him that this would change his life, but how he did not know how these changes would affect him personally. He could tell one thing though, his parents were both hiding something; at the very least his father was hiding something, his side of the family constantly seemed to think that he was less than them because of something. He investigated the window carefully, seeing it semi-transparent with a strangely ghost like text made Gregory wonder about it. This was like a notification in a game, did this mean there was also a tutorial regarding this new skill like games often have? He looked at the skill box one more time to see if he would find anything new about it.

Seems I can figure out the ability with relative ease, probably due to my current gaming knowledge and skills. He thought the word tutorial, and a message came up in front of him. This could help, but I am not sure if I really need it. He looked at the message in front of him.
Commence tutorial? Upon commencement, only completion will prevent new messages from appearing. There is no way to turn of the tutorial, but it can be begun at any time, and will only go over new information.

It seems that it would be better to do what I can without the tutorial before beginning, as there are no drawbacks to starting later and I save myself unnecessary instructions by doing what I can without it first. Not to mention time, which is the most limited resource of all. He thought "NO" to the screen, and it vanished before his eyes. Seems everything is mentally controlled. It seems strange though that it would have buttons like this when it is mentally controlled. I wonder if there are certain requirements for the mental control. He then thought "Status Menu." and a screen popped up in front of him showing a full set of information on his status.

Gregory''s jaw nearly dropped to the floor upon viewing the status menu, which explained a few things but left more questions than answers. Well, explains why my father''s family expected so much of me, I must be a super genius by conventional standards. I would be anyways if I tried anything but video games when I was at home. I bet my father''s entire family is made up of legendary great sages, but what does that even mean? On the other hand, I should check my mother''s status, if I can anyways. I bet she has some part of this too, which would mean the legendary luck master. As he finished thinking he thought about description on the two classes he guessed his parents had handed down to him, and realized that both were extremely powerful. The legendary great sage did not set any numbers in particular, but mentioned giving massive intelligence and wisdom, combining to mean incredibly powerful active and passive spells. It also mentioned that it would passively raise them extra based upon actions, which meant they would be easier to train for their value than other stats. Legendary luck master was very unique though, saying that it could only be passed down to one linear descendant, and that it added the cumulative base luck of every past bearer. I have been blessed it seems, but at the same time, I have a bad feeling that I will be in much more danger due to this awakening of mine. I feel like there is incalculable danger around every corner, and that it will lead me to a quick death even with the skills I have. The only benefit seems to be that I am very low leveled and should be able to sneak under the radar until I have leveled up a few times. He then thought to open the skill list, which launched a new window next to the status menu. He also thought to open descriptions for each skill, as none had them currently open. Viewing this list was almost as shocking to him as was the status menu, as it contained some very powerful abilities. The only problem for him was not knowing how to use any of the passive skills to his benefit, since he had only guesses at how to do anything. Thinking "close all," the two windows before him closed and he gave a brief smile knowing that he could handle this for now. Gregory knew that he had to learn how to use all of the passive skills, and create at least some combat magic skills since those would be his greatest weapons. First though, he decided to head downstairs and see if he could use the reveal skill to show his mother''s stats. Running down the stairs, he went to the kitchen to test the one skill he knew he could use. He looked at his mother and thought "reveal" it showed her stats, many of them around the 10-15 range, with the exception of luck. It was off the charts, reaching all the way up to 502. It also revealed that she had the legendary luck master class underneath her name. I thought so, mom is nowhere near normal. At least not by the way a normal person would consider it, this would however explain why she never seemed to get ill or hurt herself in the kitchen like so many others he had seen working in a kitchen. Before heading upstairs, Gregory grabbed a plate and put one of the lobster that had been prepared for dinner on it. He brought it upstairs with him to prevent his mother from asking why he came downstairs for no apparent reason. I will need to work on training some skills, but I have no idea where I can do that, or how I should do it. If I do them out in the open, somebody is sure to find out. Doing them in the house though would lead to mom find out, and that is almost worse yet. Perhaps the game system can generate a dungeon or training grounds for me to use. That will need to wait for tomorrow though, tonight I need to rest and think on what these new skills and powers will mean for me. Tomorrow, I will definitely train and discover just what I am capable of. Perhaps I will even activate the tutorial to see what it can do for me. He thought only about his day of training tomorrow, not at all thinking about the games he had been so previously obsessed with and enamored by. He knew that the next day was a Saturday and it meant a full day of training his new found abilities, abilities that left his games in the dust. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 2 (Not so OP after all?) Waking up, Gregory looked out the window. It was still dark, he had slept about five hours only, and yet he felt as if he were fully rested. Probably in part due to the Gamer''s Gift skill, which gave his body the capacity of a game character''s. After all, game characters could be played constantly, and without his mind being affected by status effects, it was very possible that he would not need sleep. However, he ignore that right now, seeing as how he wondered only about what he could do now that he had these abilities. One thing he knew for certain though, the training he did would need to consist of gaining magical abilities, as those would be where he could really shine. He active skills would gain huge benefits from his intelligence, as long as there was no condition to otherwise increase the strength based upon intelligence. The same went for his wisdom, but for passive skills, buffing them unless it stated that it gave benefits based on wisdom otherwise. Gregory also discovered that this meant the 10X from his intermediate skills was actually at a startling 105X their original power. This meant that even low level spells would seem like some of the most powerful or deadly without even using a noticeable level of mana. Realizing this gave him no status increases like he had expected, but knew it was because of him already having the high level of wisdom. It seems the class legendary great sage was not doing as much as it said it would. Of course, it could mean that it only gives wisdom for discovering something nobody else knows. It just mentioned actions in the description. Actions could be anything. Just as he thought that, the window came up notifying him of a 10 point wisdom gain.
For discovering a secret that was previously undiscovered, your wise actions have been granted a bonus 10 points in WIS.
Dismissing the box, another box popped up afterward to notify him of another change.

Gregory realized that this system was amazing. It not only assisted him, but pushed him along a path toward greater skill and power. He then moved to the bathroom to perform his daily routine; taking a shower, brushing his teeth, up-keeping the manicured and pedicured look he had. Heading to his room, he grabbed the dojo uniform he had, loose black pants to allow free movement, white socks underneath black shoes that mostly had just a sole and very little in terms of protection on the top. There was also a tight white shirt, over which was worn the black dojo jacket, which he had left completely unbuttoned. He looked in the mirror, his hair the stark contrast that nobody expected a person of his age to have. His skin was Caucasian, but not so pale as his father''s side of the family had their skin. His hair though was a mixture of his father''s and mother''s. His father had totally white hair, and his mother totally black. Seeing as how his hair was almost entirely white, it would seem that his father''s genes were more noticeable in regards to his hair. It was also messy as usual, five inches long and spiking off in every direction. He had heard people say that it looked likes Link''s from the Legend of Zelda series of games, but white with black streaks instead of blonde. To say that was untrue would be telling a lie, but Gregory didn''t mind at all. It was just a factor of his appearance that brought him the attention of many girls in his class. As he headed out, he checked the time and saw that it was still only 4 in the morning. Wait, did I forget to access my inventory? I am sure I have one, it is the staple of every gamer to have an inventory that can be used to store the contents they desire. Of course, some games have an inventory based upon the character''s strength, many of them allow the character to use it as their bank. He thought the word Inventory immediately after this small mental rant and there before him appeared an inventory with which he could hold anything he so desired. He tested this with a bottle of water, before dumping all of them in. He found that the items stacked, since there were the same type of item, but there was another stack created for a different brand. Seems I should keep things limited to one brand unless I want an unmanageable inventory. One of them I had was impossible to manage, forced me to sell every item I had except for those equipped. Worst single idea of my life, never let this thing become so cluttered. He quickly removed all the water bottles except 5 and then made himself a sandwich before writing a note to let his mother know that he would be out for the day until late. One thing Greg did do though, was to place his phone and wallet into his inventory, that way he had nothing on him to get in the way of training. As he headed into the nearby forest, he kept an eye out for any creatures he may be able to find. Considering this was basically a game for Gregory now, he knew it was possible for monsters or creatures to drop items. As he walked, he found a Northern Copperhead, a poisonous snake found in the area. He moved quickly, apprehending the snake and crushing its head between his fingers. It seemed that 15 AGI was more than the average person, by enough that he could catch an oncoming snake without too much difficulty. Upon killing the creature, a window popped up asking if he would like to preserve the dead body or degrade it for items. He thought: items of course, why wouldn''t I want the items? At that, the body began dissolving, and three items appeared before him. The first was a book, the second a katana, and the third a potion with a reddish green swirl inside. He used his reveal ability on the three items, revealing them to be a skill book for a poison cloud, a sword with an innate poisoning ability which caused pain and tissue damage in the hit area, and the third a vial of concentrated poison which would cause instantaneous fainting status along with eventual death. Incredible, to think I would come out with such an incredible looting with just one kill. Must be due to the luck stat, I think it is probably my most useful. As he finished his walk to the clearing he knew of, he learned the skill from the book he had gotten. The skill seemed to be borderline OP, as it lasted for a full hour, without an unusual environmental effect. Greg then sat down in the center of the clearing and cleared his mind, he wanted to create some new spells of his own to be used. He thought about why he had wind and water, and realized that it was because they were compositional elements of ice. He needed to mix them using multi-casting to create the ice spells. He thought about how he would combine them, funneling them, one coming out through each hand. He focused on creating a mountain of ice, one that could encompass a target. This rang with a new skill notification, but he wasn''t finished yet. He then went on to think about a spell that would use plain magic, channeling it into a spinning lance. As he did this, a giant lance of mana appeared in front of him, and he decided to make just one more new skill. He focused on created a barrier of ice around his own body, one that he could control at will. This came up with an armor of ice surrounding him, that would remain solid as long as the environment was cold or mana channeled into it. He then looked at the three new spells he gained. This skill allows the user to create a poison mist that causes pain and difficulty breathing if inhaled, and pain along with difficulty seeing if got in the eyes. Open wounds are instantly infected and cause pain along with mild tissue damage. While lethality can be only slightly affected, higher intelligence will give much faster effects with much smaller doses. Creates a cloud in size depending on intelligence with the user being immune. The effect lasts up to 1 hour, depending on wind and other environmental factors.

As Greg closed the window for these new skills, he also opened a new window. This window notified him that the level up restrictions were raised to ADVANCED for his MAGIC MASTERY, and GRAND for ICE ELEMENTAL MASTERY. The reason for these restrictions being lifted was that he created an original spell of the level to which he could now raise the skills. Seems that creating new spells is the best way to do things, not only do I gain the benefit of powerful new skills, but also of further raising my passive abilities. Then, a mist swirled around him, and he was transported to what the people of the magic community knew to be a dungeon. It was a space that existed outside of time and place, one that was unique to who entered. It would create a monster that was a challenge for the skills and stats possessed. What this meant was the creation of an ADVANCED TIER FIRE ELEMENTAL inside this dungeon. While it was something that only the very upper echelon of mages could perform, a normal ice Sage of Gregory''s skills should be easily defeated by such a creature. Only one trump card was possessed by Gregory that could help him win, and that was his GRAND tier ice spell. As he wandered through the dungeon, he faced many small creatures offering him experience, items, and skill books. Still though, none seemed to be anything he wanted to learn right now. They were all far too easy to defeat, learning a new passive for the blade. Before long though, either through luck or a curse, he ran into the fire elemental. He could feel something off about this encounter, but wondered what until the monster covered the area in fire so powerful even the ICE ARMOR he summoned could barely protect him. He kept dodging attacks, the armor becoming easier to keep up as the first minute passed. Eventually, his mana was stuck on full again, and Gregory decided to start an offense. He launched three spinning mana lances at the fire elemental, which he had hoped would send the creature to a quick death, but instead left it standing as if nothing happened. He quickly used reveal, investigating what could have caused nothing to happen from such a powerful attack. What he read feared him to the core. An advanced tier fire elemental, immune to all magic below its level. The mana lance probably doesn''t work since I don''t have MAGIC MASTERY[ADVANCED] yet. I need something that can deal with it. He scrambled about, trying to stay alive and figure out what to do. Wait, it is only advanced, it shouldn''t be able to escape from the ICE MOUNTAIN FUNERAL skill. If it doesn''t work though, my armor will likely shut down and leave me dead. Still, this is my only chance. Performing the skill, he hoped beyond reason that the elemental would not dodge, be too arrogant to think ice could damage it. As eh performed the spell, he felt his mana drain to almost empty. He could feel the armor cracking with the heat and extra drain that caused the spell. Suddenly, the heat stopped, the elemental was trapped in the mountain of ice as if a statue. He kneeled down entirely exhausted and then looked to see the mountain melt away. He got up on his feet, until he noticed it was just skill books being revealed. Looking at the books he saw three, FIRE ELEMENTAL MASTERY[INTERMEDIATE], FIRE LAND BURST, and ELEMENTAL SUMMONING[BEGINNER]. He moved to pick them up and then was instantly teleported out of the dungeon upon grabbing them. The notification said that he had completed the dungeon and would no longer be attacked here without activating the DUNGEON ENTRANCE skill. The new skills will be identified early next chapter. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 3 (A Full Days Grinding and a Near Death Experience) Gregory was still lying there after defeating that first dungeon, which had proved to him that he would be in danger should he come across any more mystery dungeons like this. Not only did he not have the abilities to properly defend himself against a boss, only a skill that left him completely incapacitated would even bring it down. Still though, Greg decided to check his skills before he would give up on the thought that it was a total waste. He felt quite a bit stronger through that, likely due to the level of the fire elemental in comparison to his as well as the fact that he had used a GRAND level spell in order to defeat it. Looking through the full list of spells he now possessed, Greg knew that he was far more safe than previously. His skills now consisted of some very powerful offensive spells, a defensive spell, an incredible AOE spell, and the ability to use familiars. To think his first full day with this ability would give him such cheaty status in this new world. He looked about himself, the ever present mystic sight skill granting him the ability to see that magic was everywhere on earth, just that very few knew how to make use of it. Of course, what would one expect from a world that did really have fantasy elements inside it. Earth was more amazing than Gregory could ever have imagined previously, and this new fascination made him tremble. He was eager to see what this new world would give him, and what he could do in it. Reviewing his status and skills, he realized that he could use all 4 elementals currently available to him as well as a spinning mana lance every minute until the time he decided to head home. Using these was quickly raising his skills, and Gregory was quickly realizing that the levels were allowing him even more leeway. By mid-day, due to the elemental summoning skill being such a low level he suspected, it had reached a level of 51. This slower pace seemed to be due to the fact that experience was gained differently in fights than when training, which meant it would take longer and be less productive. Still though, it was well worth it. In addition, the wind, water, and ice elemental masteries had all reached 67, and fire mastery had reached 32. On top of that, spinning mana lance had reached 15, with 15 in Magic Mastery as well. He also noticed though, that the mana cost per elemental had dropped to only 50 a piece, allowing him to be able to cast the fire land burst spell to grind it as well. By the end of the day, his mastery skills except fire were now all 79, his fire mastery was 47, his fire land burst had become 21, and the elemental summoning was 66. His spinning mana lance and magic mastery had also reached 29. Overall, this brought the costs of all the spells down substantially, allowing him to easily keep the four elemental active at all times without noticing a strain as well as using a spinning mana lance and keeping fire land burst active at all times. Gregory then laid down to sleep some more, getting some rest before heading home. While still at the forest clearing, he wondered why some of his skills were leveling up so quickly, and others seemed to be going up slower when they were in the same condition. He then realized it, his family had an affinity for ice, which meant somewhat for wind and water as well. It probably also slowed down fire, which is something that would be far more major, if not for the fact that he had gained a skill book which gave him the affinity for it. At this point, his wisdom made another jump, gaining 15 points this time, for discovering something in the world which nobody had discovered previously. Of course, there were hypotheses, but none with any evidence. Until of course, Gregory was able to see all the numbers in his screen. What he didn''t know, is why none had figured this out, since there had to be some neutral elements that could be learned without too much trouble as well. Unless of course, they were not learnable, because normal people had a limit to what they could do while a game system is designed to give benefit without limit unless a negative status is made. At this, another 10 points in Wisdom popped up in front of him. This free status was something he could get used to, at the same time though, it was quite worrisome. At what point would another person find him and try to kill him to prevent interference in their business? Well, seems that my grinding paid off at least. One full day in, but my skills have really shown some improvement. Reminds me of the days when I first got into Fantasy Realms United. I could train this much in a day without too much trouble. Now though, I seem to be able to do all this in real life. It seems too good to be true, but considering this morning it must be. I guess I should just continue to do all I can to raise my INT and WIS passively, as those will be incredibly beneficial in growing my powers even further, and will get me to the point that I can hold my own. Anyways, best be getting back home. Gregory then began his walk home, going through the woods without a problem, until he noticed that the terrain suddenly changed. It was a charred wasteland type of area, the land seemingly suited for a lava elemental. Greg figured that this is what it was, another dungeon and that he would be attacked by a lava elemental. That would be far too easy though, instead when he activated his elementals he heard a voice come from a slight distance. "Oho, seems like we have a fairly skilled mage here. What can you do against a Grand Lava Mage though?" At this, the man instantly sent jets of magma heading straight for Greg. With no way to escape, he used his one ace in the hole, activating ICE MOUNTAIN FUNERAL. Even with this though, the mage had only used his own spells to melt it before continuing with another attack. While it didn''t leave Greg completely empty this time, he still didn''t have much left. Not enough left anyways to mount any kind of counter attack against this slew of attacks. What can I do here, my skills are notifying me of level ups like crazy, but I am just one attack from death here. As he continued to dodge, a drop of molten lava fell from the sky, encompassing his entire body before he was forcefully sent to his room with just one health remaining. He gasped for breath and looked at his health meter. Without doubt, this was due to the Gamer''s Gift ability, an ability that gave him a restore point and restored him with the same skills he had when he last rested. He knew he didn''t die, he saw that the instant the health meter hit 1, he was teleported, with nothing to damage his health unless it was a constant effect. Since it only brought him as his body was on the inside and clothes, the lava was completely gone, and he checked himself in the mirror. His body appeared to be in the same condition he was in just before leaving the clearing, with the same skill levels as he had then too. All the skill levels he had gained walking and in the fight had disappeared, not that Greg cared, but he did know one thing now. He had to continue to train himself if he didn''t want to die someday soon. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 4 (Crafting) Gregory had gone to bed early the night before, completely exhausted, but woke up only an hour later. From the notification, sleep in an owned bed, for any period of time, would fully recover status and even give a bonus to skill advancement. However, Greg wanted to try something different today. Rather than doing something potentially dangerous like he had the previous day, he wanted to instead volunteer at a blacksmith''s shop that was close to his home. It had always intrigued him, but now he wanted to learn it for sure. The ability to craft his weapons and armor was always a favorite part in games for him, so the ability to do so in real life would also likely be a very important and beneficial portion. However, he also knew that he needed to learn enchanting and herbalism, since they were two other skills that would likely play a huge part in personal advancement. He had learned that items gathered from farming are good, but the truly best items are those that are crafted personally. However, he also knew that they were the skills that were the most grind~y, since they required the base material which were found between monster drops and actual gathering skills. Still though, he began with heading to a blacksmith for the day. Upon arrival, the blacksmith looked up and recognized Gregory instantly. Greg was a frequenter of the shop, and had even offered help before, so it wouldn''t be unusual to help again as volunteer work. This could be my opportunity to gain a blacksmithing skill, though it would probably also require a forge, which is something I don''t think I could fit in my inventory, right? Regardless, I need to learn how to blacksmith now, so that I can use it to create armor and weapons capable of fighting off the monsters I have already seen. The man working then spoke to Greg in his usual manner Come to help today, have we? Greg responded to the man with what he thought would sound a bit odd, but something he needed if he was going to start blacksmithing. So, I was hoping to actually forge something by myself today, what do you think? The man let out a small whistle, his thick brown beard surrounding his mouth a contrast against his bald head. You think you are ready for it? If so, follow me. Gregory didn''t even think twice, he followed right behind the man, Stanley was his name. As Stanley stopped at the smelter, he told Greg Just do whatever you can alone Greg, if you get stuck, come to me and I will give you some guidance. Greg didn''t even wait for the man to finish, he began to start pumping the bellows to heat up the furnace. He knew it needed to be hot to melt down the ore to a usable metal. Channeling some fire mana into the furnace, he noticed that the ore began to melt almost immediately. He would need to be careful now, as getting it too hot would damage the ore and metal irreparably. Now that the ore had liquefied to molten metal though, it was time to start forging it. Greg grabbed the metal with the tongs, and then place it upon the anvil. He began hitting it at a medium slow pace, kneading the metal out with the hammer to form a long strip for the blade. Continuing the process of heating the metal and hammering it, Greg had eventually got it to a nice even height all the way down. The form was of a unique weapon he had seen in a video game, it was called the Xi Blade. It was in the form of a katana, but longer with a heavier blade. It was meant only for the strong to wield, but also boasted higher cutting power to those who could wield it. Upon completing the forming of the blade, he moved to the spinning whetstone, which this blacksmith still had using a pedal. While it was very old fashioned, it was one of the things that Gregory enjoyed most about this place; everything was done so that it was possible with more technology, and there was no lower technology that could be used. This gave Greg the advantage of being able to work any kind of blacksmithing in the world, and could give him advantages of knowing how to better work everything with the newer methods where some things are recorded by computer. Still though the old method cannot be beat. As Gregory was grinding away on the sword against the whetstone, running the blade edge from dull to sharp. It was taking time, but this is what the world was for, to work hard and do something that could really be considered beneficial to people. Of course, this was just beneficial to him and his body right now, but that didn''t mean it couldn''t be used to help others. As he worked, he had just the grip and hilt to finish. As Greg assembled the pieces, anchoring the grip and hilt to the blade, using molten metal to fill and merge them together, and finally letting it set, he finally gained the BLACKSMITH skill. [/tr]

Using reveal on the weapon he had just created showed more than Greg had expected to see. The weapon he made actually had the name Xi Blade, and a unique ability to be able to ignore all forms of defense in attacks. It also had stats that made him wonder if it was really a sword that could be made with earthly stats. It had an attack power of 35. If he knew his games, then Greg knew this meant quite a high damage rating. First, the damage was augmented by STR and AGI for bladed weapons, and then any skills that affect bladed weapons. Since he had Blade Mastery, it meant that the sword could likely do close to 100 damage for every attack. To top it off, it cut through all defenses, meaning that even those with the best magical or physical defenses would still take this damage. Glancing at the title, he noticed some system generated text next to it. "Skill Advancement Text - GRAND" read next to the title. [i]Seems that this is a blessing. A text that can level my blacksmithing to the GRAND level and likely even keep current proficiency. There is probably some drawback though, such a book would not just show itself to me. Upon examining the book, he discovered no real drawbacks, except that it would mark him as one of the greatest item crafters of his era. He then questioned something. As he tried to learn the book, it came up with a notification. It seemed he was incapable of studying this book, as he did not have the necessary skill in two skills available to him. The first was TAILORING, which used fabrics to create different clothing which could be used by mages and the like. The second was JEWEL CRAFTING, which allowed creating jewelry and could be used to store high level enchantments permanently. As he left the blacksmiths, he also stowed this book in his inventory, making sure he wouldn''t lose it anywhere. It was perhaps the single most valuable item in his possession, as it would allow him to gain all skills to GRAND level upon reaching at least INTERMEDIATE in each. He then decided to test out another skill. He wanted to see if he could create an enchantment skill. He knew it would require channeling magic into an item, but wasn''t sure how to keep it there. Perhaps he could create some kind of rune, like one from the games he plays. Sewing a rune onto the back of his black dojo jacket, he started channeling his magic in, not sure what kind of magic he was channeling in until it noted that it would increase magic resistance by 5%. The two skills he had just gained were TAILORING[BEGINNER] and ENCHANTING[BEGINNER].

These two skills seemed very powerful, at least the enchanting skill anyways. It would be the one skill that would allow Gregory to finally boost his power in a big way. He could channel any passive skill he knew into clothing to improve the strength of it, or channel any active skill he knew into a weapon to contain it there and give the weapon a power boost. This was a unique opportunity, and one that he did not want to pass up. For now though, he would need to find a jeweler to train under, so that he could create his own jewelry. He would also need to find out how to create potions for himself, which he figured he could do with enough practice and study. Perhaps creating a wine or other brew at home would do for discovering the skill. They used herbs and plants to create a drink which altered the body, that is effectively what herbology, or potion crafting depending on the game did. Although, Greg did wonder one thing, where were all the wooden or bone bows and the leather armors. He did have a hunch though, searching the blacksmithing skill, he found that they were listed underneath the possible crafts, which were found by thinking available crafts and then selecting a skill. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 5 (Discovering Time Magic) Gregory had been discovering new things about his abilities and training all this week, aside from the time spent in school. Even that led him to a discovery though, as he was using reveal on everything and everybody at the school. He revealed that his history teacher, whose modern name was Timothy Barnes, was actually a time sage with the name of Aetius Tempus. At that time, Gregory decided he would go to his house on Saturday, the first real day of summer vacation, and ask him for help with time magic. During the weekdays, Gregory studied other things as well after school. Discovering that there were areas called PROTECTED SPACES, which could be opened through a person¡¯s mana. These areas could be used for multiple things, such as a training ground, an area for gear and equipment that could not be carried, and a place to sleep and stay away from dangers. The best feature though was the fact that it had potentially infinite space, and could be divided up into rooms. Gregory learned from the description that all people that can control mana could use it, which meant that he had probably got sucked into one of these rooms when he fought the lava mage. Upon investigating and learning what he could about this skill, he had leveled it up enough that he could have up to seven rooms in it, which could be used for whatever the optional rooms were. He had five for personal spaces, one that was nearly identical to his bedroom save being in a house, one for blacksmithing, one for creating jewelry, one for tailoring clothing, and one for making leather armor and any kind of bow or other weapon made from wood or bone. The sixth he had open as a Training field, a large clearing area with ¡°trees¡± on the edge, which were actually just constructs of his own mana, but could be used for testing destructive force of his spells. The seventh was also being used a training field, though it was created for running in laps up and down hills. This was so that he could practice his VIT and AGI without too much difficulty. Using the rooms in his protected space, Gregory had trained his elemental masteries, his spinning mana lance, his fire land burst, his elemental summoning, as well as his tailoring and jewelry crafting skills. With level 95 for his spinning mana lance, intermediate level 3 for his elemental summoning skill, 19 in ice mastery ADVANCED, 17 in both INTERMEDIATE levels of his wind and water mastery, 73 in fire land burst, and 89 in his fire mastery ADVANCED, he was no longer weak in combat. He had also trained his tailoring to INTERMEDIATE, and level 73; it could be used to craft actual clothing now, with the ability to more precisely sew in smaller runes. His jewelry crafting was harder though, he did not have quite as fine a hand as required for it. The leveling was slow, and he lost experience whenever failing a craft. The tough part was the etching of runes onto stones. He had to use softer stones, but couldn¡¯t hit too hard that it broke. To learn the jewelry crafting skill, he had gone to a local jeweler, one that knew Greg¡¯s father as a respected businessman in the area. This allowed Greg to practice there, creating fake jewelry though, only with artificial stones and the oldest tools. As Gregory worked on the jewelry, he knew it would take longer to learn it. Makes me wonder how people assembled jewelry back when there were only tools like this, they must have practiced for years to get good. Getting the stone effectively in place without ruining it is the hardest part, though I am just using a cheap piece of plastic in place of a stone, this is still too difficult. Still, Greg didn¡¯t give up and eventually learned it well enough to start it on his own; which basically means he had gotten the skill for it, though only at level 1 of NOVICE tier, which meant that he could still fail in crafting the jewelry. This also meant that Gregory could train in jewelry crafting faster though, since it was the lowest tier, it gained levels at much smaller intervals. It also gained less experience per craft though, due to the low level. I need to get this to BEGINNER for crying out loud, I will never get better if I keep on failing crafts like I am now. Through all this training he had been doing, Gregory knew that he was definitely gaining in combat power, but also in other skills. He knew that the crafting skills in a game were just as, if not more important than the combat skills. The combat skills worked through the crafting skills in some games, and since this was his life, his game, that is the way things would work out. In fact, what he had just crafted proved this, the weapon called the Xi Blade, which ignored all defenses put in place against it. Although, it would probably not work with enchantments on the blade, since the body is what resists magic unless there is a shield in place, not spells. Although, this also made his Xi Blade the deadliest weapon against him. If anybody used it to attack him, it would likely be able to kill him, or at least damage him in such a way that he would need to recover in a bed or with spells. Now that the school week was finished, Gregory woke up early in anticipation of being able to learn time magic. While it wasn¡¯t absolute, he guessed that it would be possible to study from the time sage who was his history teacher, since the man seemed at least to be less corrupted than the one man who attacked him a week before. The history teacher even had a good nature listed under a description that he found other people possessed in their ¡°reveal¡± data. Gregory entered the protected space he could create, working on advancing it further to better house equipment and assist his training. As he was practicing with it, improving it by channeling his mana into it, the level went up. The further the level went up, the more rooms could be created, and the more space it had. It was something he wanted to be as far along as possible, to prevent him from ever needing to worry about needing to go out and endanger himself without being strong enough. After the hours had passed, he left his protected space, having further increased it by enough that the space had grown by another few hundred miles and could house two more rooms. He decided to keep the space as empty for now, just using it for one large space until he needed more rooms. He left the house, running for his history teacher¡¯s house. Within an hour he had reached the house and knocked at the door. The history teacher opened it and looked confused for just a brief moment before smiling and deciding to welcome his student. ¡±How are you doing Greg? If there anything you need from me?¡± Gregory decided to respond bluntly to the teacher, not wanting to beat around the bush with him. ¡±I want to learn time magic from you. I am guessing you know my father, but that isn¡¯t why I am asking.¡± Aetius took a step back, but quickly recovered composure. He had never seen anybody know about his time magic without being told, but this boy, the child of a friend of his knew somehow. ¡±I will teach you time magic if you will teach me some ice magic, and tell me how you knew about my time magic.¡± Aetius had already learned rather high level ice magic from Gregory¡¯s father, as they had been friends since Aetius had saved his father. However, he wanted to see if Gregory would be willing to share, in which case he would teach Greg about time magic. Gregory instantly responded to this question as if he didn¡¯t even need to ask the question ¡±I will teach you after you have taught me, and I know because of new ability I just learned, one that seems to be rather unique to my newest set of skills.¡± The man then let Gregory inside of his house, he would teach him time magic, knowing that Gregory must have had a very good reason for even considering coming to him without knowing he wouldn¡¯t hurt him. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 6 (Learning Time Magic) Gregory entered Aetius¡¯ house right after him, not wanting to be rude. Aetius then opened a portal to his Protected Space, which it seemed was required when not entering a combat room in the Protected Space. He also discovered that there were two types of combat rooms in a Protected Space, a forced entry and non-forced. The first required permission of the non-owner party and would not leave damage, the second would force entry and could kill whoever lost. As they entered the protected space, Aetius began speaking about the basics of temporal magic. ¡±Time magic is one of the most powerful forms of magic, a neutral form of magic for all except those that are born with space magic. This means that the two types of magic conflict with each other, preventing both from being learned under normal circumstances. Only one person I have ever known managed it, and they were considered a true genius. Before we get started, I thought I¡¯d let you know this. Time magic allows the movement through time, invulnerability to time, and allows one to perfectly view the past. Of course, there is also a restriction. There must be some sort of anchor when travelling in the past. To visit a time, you must have something in mind, which will be used as a marker.¡± He paused, letting Gregory get this before he would go on to say more. Gregory responded back with a quick reaffirmation of what he just said. ¡±So, I need to have some form of mental marker in my mind of when I want to be? Then once I have that marker, I can use it as a way to travel back to the time? What about times I¡¯ve been?¡± Aetius smiled, it seemed Gregory caught on fast to this concept. ¡±Times you have been can be visited at will, so long as you cast the spell. Only times you have not been require you to have a marker in place. Also, it is possible for temporal sages to transfer their ¡®times¡¯ to another person, allowing the second to visit all the times the original temporal sage had visited. Does this make sense to you?¡± Gregory responded back quickly, not wanting to waste time. ¡±So, you are saying that you could duplicate all the times you visited to my mind, body, or magic, and that would allow me to visit any time you have visited? The anchor then only needs to be in place when visiting a time you have not yet been in then. Also, will it be possible for me to learn temporal magic? My father still ages, so he wasn¡¯t able to learn it.¡± Aetius shook his head slightly before responding. ¡±Your father tried, but his mindset was not in it to learn temporal magic. In addition to that, his magic was not diverse enough to learn it. Temporal magic requires a magic that can bend and twist in ways that your father¡¯s couldn¡¯t. Already though, it seems yours has. You seem to have another element aside form ice and its compositional elements.¡± This time, Gregory looked started, how did the teacher know that just from standing close to him? ¡±How did you know that, and is that really the reason you think I can actually learn it and my father could not?¡± Aetius smiled again, showing that he had an ability that Gregory didn¡¯t know about amused him. ¡±All sages can sense another¡¯s flow of magic, and the elements being given off. However, it takes time and practice, two things that I have had more than enough of. In case you didn¡¯t know, the protected space of a temporal sage is also immune held outside of time, so that inside time does not pass. This makes a diversified temporal sage one of the most dangerous magical beings in the world. Although, a skilled Spatial Sage is still something we need to worry about. They are some of the most powerful because of their ability to teleport and launch attacks that cannot be anticipated without also being able to use and feel spatial magic.¡± Gregory was about to ask one more question, realizing that Aetius had said at first that temporal sages become immune to time. ¡±If a temporal sage becomes immune to time, what is to stop them from appearing the same age all their life from the point of learning onwards? If that is the case, wouldn¡¯t it be hard for me to ever fit in with normal people looking like a teenager forever?¡± Aetius expected this question, and answered it with the truth. ¡±The day that a temporal sage stops aging depends on their potential power. The youngest ever has been 19 that I¡¯ve seen, and they were almost as much a genius as you are. It is possible you¡¯d stop aging sooner but it is never earlier than the day you learn the magic, so if you want to wait until you¡¯ve aged some, we can do that.¡± Aetius knew that this was a valid fear, and one that many temporal sages had to deal with. It was not easy needing to relocate constantly to avoid detection by others. ¡±Now that the questions are over, if you want to get started, you will need to learn what temporal magic feels like. All magics are all around us in the world¡¯s atmosphere, we just need to be able to feel and take them in to learn how to use the magic. The best way to do this would be to take a meditative stance, and focus on bringing in the magic around you. This also requires you to know what the magic feels like though, so let me have you feel my magical energy.¡± Holding out his hand, he channeled magic energy into it and let it flow out slightly. As Gregory reached out, he could feel the magic, and knew what he needed to bring in now, but didn¡¯t know exactly how to absorb it. I was able to gain fire magic, but that was through a skill book, how am I supposed to absorb temporal magic from around me? As he crossed his legs to meditate, he closed his eyes and focused on just absorbing mana. It was hours, and Gregory didn¡¯t seem to be getting anywhere with absorbing the temporal magic. He could feel different kinds of magic entering his body, but he didn¡¯t know what they were. He wasn¡¯t focusing on the kind of magic entering in. Then it hit him, he wasn¡¯t focusing on bringing in temporal magic, but magic in general. He needed to filter out the temporal magic, and bolster his supply with this instead of bringing in whatever magic that was in the atmosphere. At this, a new skill was created, entering his mind¡¯s vision since his eyes were closed.

He dismissed the window quickly, but the skill just reaffirmed what the though, that he would need to focus solely on bringing in temporal magic to gain access to it. As he was meditating, he could tell that the time was passing by, but he couldn¡¯t tell how much. His meditative state was near perfect, probably due to the skill, and he was learning better how to focus on the temporal magic the history teacher had him feel. It was difficult to bring in just the temporal magic, which is apparently what he needed to do. Such a task required immense focus, determination, and the ability to block out all other sensations. Such concentration was hard for him, since he was always used to doing things. Even in games, the task of gaining new elements was not this hard. Although, the element of time was never in games; while space was, it sounded like it had far more use on earth than in games. It seemed that it was rather difficult for him, although he did wonder how he gained ice magic, as well as whatever other element he felt floating around inside him. Just to learn conflicting elements was difficult, which is why even Aetius had never learned fire or earth, and in turn didn¡¯t learn lava element. Such magic was ¡°impossible¡± for him to learn. Well, not impossible, but difficult without compare. Of course, Gregory would have had to learned fire or earth already if Aetius couldn¡¯t tell what element he had. This fact made Aetius wonder just how powerful Greg could be. The ability to learn conflicting elements was extremely rare, and usually not doable until very late in life. This boy though had conflicting elements, and not only that, he was just a boy. 16 year old and he was more dangerous than most people as much as three times his age in regards to current skill. Teaching Greg time magic was something Aetius feared, but knew that Gregory was a decent person, since he didn¡¯t attack him either. A person in the magical world that wants power will attack to get it, he had never seen even one that would ask like Gregory did. John Frost¡¯s son made him curious, curious as to why a sage like that would ever be so willing to offer assistance and ask for help in growing stronger. Just then though, Gregory opened his eyes. Temporal mana was swirling about him like an ocean, and it seemed he was just about ready to start absorbing it. If this worked for Greg, he would have access to temporal magic from here on out. Still though, it would take getting used to the new type of mana, since time magic was the hardest, equal to spatial, to learn. It wasn¡¯t as easy as just using or creating a spell, it required mixing mana with memory. This was something else that not many could do, even so, he would at bare minimum not age anymore from the time of his gaining it. On Gregory¡¯s end, he felt like he was suffocating, surrounded by a mana that he had only felt and still seemed foreign to him. Merging this outside mana with his current mana felt impossible, and it seemed like it would kill him; he needed something he could use to begin mixing this mana, but it seemed to difficult. He was trying to think about what the skill said, but knew it said nothing about this feeling. He could hardly think straight, wondering how he would ever be able to learn elements without using a book like he had for fire. Just then, he could feel something in his subconscious pull the time magic in, pouring all his existing mana out and merging it there with the time magic before bringing it in that way. The immense suffocation was lessening, and he could feel that magic inside him. These next few moments would be crucial though, he couldn¡¯t let the rest get away, he needed to completely fill he reserves before he would be over. He was sucking it all in, trying his best not to let any escape and totally fill his reserves. Then, Greg fell to the floor exhausted. He felt as if he had just used all his mana ten times over, and as if he had just nearly died without activating a restore point. Such a sensation had knocked him out of it, but Aetius still smiled. Carrying Gregory out of the protected space and into a couch in his house, Aetius waited for him to wake up. He could feel the time magic swirling inside of Gregory, and it seemed as if his potential with it was even greater than his own. Of course, this made some sense; Gregory has of the highest class of sage, the ¡®Legendary Great Sages¡¯, whom were said to be capable of the most powerful and unique spells ever created. An hour later, Gregory shot awake. He looked at the message, telling him that he had been fully recovered for sleeping in a bed, which seemed to have a very loose meaning considering he was on a couch. Regardless, it didn¡¯t give him the home bonus, which made sense considering this was another person¡¯s house, and he didn¡¯t even pay to sleep there. I can feel the time magic inside me. I think I can use it now, but I can¡¯t seem to just channel mana like I did with ice or normal magic to create a spell. Perhaps there is a missing step that I can¡¯t understand going on. Calling out for Aetius, Gregory got up off the couch and began walking toward the kitchen he had passed on his way to the basement earlier. Aetius was currently looking at a video he was streaming of Gregory to see if he would develop one of the passive abilities. As he was doing this, the camera stopped recording, seeming to have everything pause. Of course, Aetius knew better, it was that Gregory¡¯s magic had stopped time in his immediate area. Temporal mages were immune to the ability, but it wasn¡¯t as powerful as it sounded. The main use was gaining experience since time did not pass and one could train until they completely ran out of mana. On Gregory¡¯s end, he looked at his skill list, seeing the temporal magic mastery at the bottom he decided to view it. [td3]The user has gained the ability to use and control time magic. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 7 (Getting Stuck in Time) As Gregory mentally thought to dismiss the notification, Aetius came up to him, startling Greg by how quickly he came into his line of sight. It wasn¡¯t like he didn¡¯t think it could be done, especially by somebody who had been alive as long as Aetius, but he did think he would have at least noticed something. This just showed how outclassed he was by so many of the people in this new mysterious world that has been opened up to him. At the same time though, Aetius was shocked, Gregory being able to pause time in his immediate area already was a very impressive feat. ¡±It seems you have already discovered the ability to pause time in the immediate vicinity, although you probably haven¡¯t figured it out yet. Right now, in the small area you are in, only temporal mages can move about. However, only temporal mages can enter these pockets as well. No living being without time magic can enter these spaces, such an ability would make it far too easy for us to kill others. At least that seems to be the general consensus when asked why we can¡¯t.¡± Gregory looked at Aetius in disbelief, moving to the sink to test it. As he turned it on, nothing came out. It seemed that Aetius was telling the truth, they both existed outside of time right now, in a sort of protected space that took on the form of Aetius¡¯ house. ¡±Now that I have gained access to temporal magic, how do people travel through time? It doesn¡¯t seem to be as easy as using just a magical focus. There needs to something else involved that I am not getting, right? Also, you mentioned earlier about being able to transfer time memory, how exactly does that work?¡± ¡±How about I answer that first question with the answer, and the second by showing you. What you are missing, is the emotional or memorial anchor. It isn¡¯t done by magic alone, but by memory and emotion with magic. You need to know the emotions that are felt at that time, as well as having some kind of memory anchor. For example, with music, one must listen to the music and then think about the person when travelling back to the past. The only exception is when using a memory anchor, in which case you need to remember where you were at that time. One thing that may be confusing though, while we can remember where we were perfectly at the time, we cannot travel to where we were by traveling back in time.¡± Taking a pause, he let Gregory get this before moving on. ¡±If we went back in time right here, we¡¯d end up in North America at whatever time we traveled back to. Also, there are paradoxes when time travelling. If something is changed in the past, then the future will be inaccessible until the past is corrected. At times, fixing the past is also hard, because there need to be things done in a roundabout way to fix it. When one travels back to a time they were in, they need to keep away from their other self to prevent a tear in reality. If you change the past, you would need to prevent yourself from changing that past by getting them away from there without being seen. The only other way would be to use a cloaking spell and do it that way, scaring them off by making them think they will die if they continue.¡± Gregory looked concerned at this information, knowing that it meant the past was a very dangerous place to be. ¡¯If I end up changing something, that would cause a paradox, and I¡¯d need to fix it by preventing it somehow. I don¡¯t know why people even bother travelling to the past, though I suppose it does make some things easier.¡¯ ¡±Why do people even travel back to the past if it is so dangerous, it sounds easy to really hurt or change the past.¡± Aetius expected this kind of response, and he knew just how to answer it. ¡±Some of the most powerful spells of all time were created, and lost, in the past. The ability to travel back and gain access to them is the desire of every mage, which is why temporal mages and sages are extremely wealthy, and very sought after. Being able to gain access to, and get other¡¯s access to the strongest spells in history is very appealing.¡± ¡±What about martial arts, or sword fighting, couldn¡¯t those be dangerous as well? If there was an infinite time to train, couldn¡¯t we grow stronger infinitely?¡± Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. ¡±That is a common thought among the younger time mages, but it is soon realized to be false. While there are some very powerful martial artists and swordsman amongst us, none of them that can match a sage, or even some of the stronger mages, are truly human. Their bodies house curses, such as vampirism or lycanthropy, or they have become a mixed race and have become part demon or some other monster.¡± ¡±Now, let me show you how temporal memory works for those that get it given to them.¡± Aetius reached a hand out, touching Gregory¡¯s forehead with a finger and flowing magic into his mind. What he was showing Gregory was his personal temporal memory. Every time from 100 B.C. to the present was there, now swirling about in Gregory¡¯s mind as well as his own. Gregory felt a crack of pain as the memories flooded his mind, until the temporal magic now in his body sorted them as outside of memory, a place where only magic holds memories. It seems that this was how temporal memory was transferred, it was housed in a person¡¯s magic if given to them from an outside source. ¡±So, it feels as if the memories have moved into the magic. You said that I need to feel the time as well as use magic though, how does that work if the magic has the memories?¡± Aetius didn¡¯t expect this question, it showed a deeper understanding and curiosity than most. ¡±Your magic can feel just as well as you can, this is done since your mind has not developed to the point that it can mentally store all that information. You have only been a temporal sage for a couple hours, I have been one for over two thousand years. The sheer vastness of my memory is too much for your mind to handle, so your temporal magic takes over, and will simply show you a segment of memory when you decide you want to travel in time. All you need to do is channel the magic through your mind before using the spell, this way, you have the feeling and the magic working together.¡± ¡±I will take you to a past time, since that is the best way to understand time travel magic, but you must change nothing while you are there. It is best to stick with me, since with my experience, I can see how events that may be done will change our present. ¡± As he wove the magic, Gregory watched carefully, and when Aetius had finished, the system came up with a notification that [TIME TRAVEL MAGIC] had been learned. It seemed his Mystic Sight allowed him to duplicate all spells as long as he understood how they worked if it was more than just mana, and he had the affinity for the element of the spell. Then, time was bent around them, before placing them at the same exact point in space, but 700 years in the past. ¡±Now, follow me carefully, there are American shaman about. You need to make sure not to let them know of us, they had no idea that magic was used offensively, as many had some small traces of mixed blood. If they find out that magic can be used offensively, it would vastly change what happened when people first came to this continent. Such an event could completely destroy the world you grew up in, and would require you to fix what you had done.¡± Just then, an American shaman was coming upon them, and Aetius yelled for Gregory to quickly return to the present. However, Gregory was too curious. Instead of traveling back to the present, he instead hid in the area to see what kind of magic the Native Americans used. To his surprise, it seemed as though they had all the basic elements. ¡¯Is it because of their connection to nature? This could really be helpful for me to learn other elements more easily as well.¡¯ With this thought, Gregory made the mistake that would push his current timeline out of the picture. ¡±Hello, I am Gregory. What is your name?¡± Yes, I know this is something incredibly foolish, but he is way too curious. I am sorry for the short chapter, but I will try to write another one later today. No new update on his status window. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 8 (Native Americans) Gregory instantly realized his mistake, saying something was a huge mistake that was caused by his curiosity. Still though, as long as he didn¡¯t show combat uses for magic, he should be able to get back to his timeline. He looked at the man, trying to figure out what he would do. Gregory had no way of knowing how events would change the present yet, and that made it difficult for him to be in the past alone. The main reason Aetius had said anything, was because the past does cause people to make mistakes. People are beings of curiosity, ones that want to learn all they can. When things make them wonder, they must know more and that leads to making choices that further where they are now. Gregory was no different even if he was far more intelligent than most, and he was a teenager at that, the time when people are most curious. Aetius had a feeling that Gregory would do something like this, and almost wanted him to find out for himself that time is in a constant state of flux. There are always reactions to every action, which is why temporal sages usually did nothing in the past except spectate from a distance. There was one thing that was strange about time, getting back to a timeline before things are changed in it will keep a person in the original and unaltered timeline. Aetius knew that there were countless alternate universes, caused by temporal mages or sages sending people back in time as punishment. There were also very small alterations that could create a pocket universe. An alteration that changes one thing in the past, but nothing in the present would be one such thing. As he tried to go back in time then for Gregory, but couldn¡¯t reach him. It seemed that his immediate actions were such that if anybody else came they would cause a new timeline. If they hadn¡¯t already that is. He knew that Gregory was learning the same way all temporal mages learn about changing the past, not to do it by fixing a mistake to turn it into a pocket universe instead of an alternate universe. Gregory right now had realized something new about his skill most mysterious skill, the gamer¡¯s gift skill that seemingly had no limits. A game is always stronger than real life, and this ability brought that fact startlingly forward as the Native American spoke and Gregory understood the speech. ¡¯It seems that gamer¡¯s gift translate speech from other races and myself to be universally understandable, or at least in regards to myself. This will be helpful in the future, I will never wonder what people are saying and can always be understood.¡¯ Gregory, that is a weird name. What tribe are you from? Why are you here, and what is your goal? It was then that Gregory noticed the shaman¡¯s ears and eyes. ¡¯This is what Aetius meant by the Native American¡¯s having many mixed blood members among them. He must be incredibly fast; I will need to be careful of him. Thankfully, he also seems to be rather old; that should at least give me somewhat of an advantage in getting away if need be.¡¯ Just then, the man moved toward Gregory at a speed faster than that of most cars on the interstate. Gregory could hardly keep up, barely managing to get his arms up before a leg came crashing into them and knocking him into a tree. Coughing, Gregory stood up against the tree. ¡¯I can¡¯t use any combat magic, or I will be putting my timeline in danger. At the same time, I don¡¯t know what I can do to escape. If I was more experienced, I would be able to activate the ability to pause time more easily. Since I can¡¯t do that, my only choice is to get him to stop somehow.¡¯ ¡±Wait, I am not here to harm you. I come from no tribe here, I have been stranded here by magic gone wrong. My goal is to get home, and I started conversation with you because you seemed like a very strong person.¡± Gregory¡¯s responses, while not a lie, were also not the whole truth. The reason he started conversation was that the man had more than one element, he in fact seemed to have the three basic elements Gregory had and more. As for the rest of it, he didn¡¯t want to lie to this man. If there was any way to tell Gregory was lying, he didn¡¯t want to be punished for such actions. ¡¯I need to keep things simple. If I cannot let them know about combat magic at all, but I would really love to learn how they can use all the basic elements.¡¯ ¡±I had heard that many of you were of a mixed blood. Would those be wolf ears on your head?¡± The Native American man had stopped attacking, it seemed that he had calmed down some and wouldn¡¯t start attacking again without provocation. Instead, he looked puzzled at Gregory. He had become so used to seeing everybody have mixed blood it didn¡¯t even register that this person looked like they all did before their nature rituals. To see a man without those signs showed a major difference, a difference that showed he truly wasn¡¯t from around there. Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. ¡±Yes, these are wolves ears. It was my nature animal, and that is what determines how our appearance changes. For you not to have gone through that ritual, you must be from a different place. Could you tell me where it is?¡± Gregory felt stuck, he couldn¡¯t very well say that there were people across the sea, as the people here didn¡¯t know about that yet. At the same time, he couldn¡¯t say the future as that would spark more questions than he could answer. Gregory had to come up with something that wouldn¡¯t put him or his future at risk, and would also allow him to get into the tribe and learn how this man could use so many elements. ¡¯High goals are not a bad thing, but the height of these goals seem difficult to combine. If I ask to learn the elements, they will wonder why I would care. According to Aetius, they didn¡¯t use the elements for combat. They used them for everyday life, but not for combat or other combative purposes.¡¯ ¡±I am from a place outside of understanding.¡± Pausing for a moment, he chose his next words carefully. He wanted to say something that wouldn¡¯t cause further prying. ¡±In my reality, there is no war or substantial fighting. Any attempt at it will cause punishment to the involved parties.¡± These words were not a total lie, but they weren¡¯t the entire truth either. He recently found out that there seemed to be substantial fighting in the underground magical world, and that it was a very dangerous place. However, looking at major governments, fighting and known attacks were banned and punished. ¡±Sound like an interesting place, one I would like to see. By the way, my name is Nijuga, I know you asked earlier but I was startled at the time. Follow me and I will take you to the village, but you must promise to not start anything there.¡± Gregory knew that he had to respond, and he had no qualms with not starting anything, just so long as he didn¡¯t cause his timeline to change he would be happy. ¡±Yes, I promise I will do nothing to harm anybody, and will follow all the rules of my place here as well.¡± Nijuga began to lead Gregory through the forest toward a clearing. Seeing nothing, Gregory wondered what was going on until the man opened a small portal through which he stepped. Gregory quickly followed behind, guessing that this was a form of spatial magic. ¡¯Seems the Native Americans were very skilled at magic, no wonder he told me to be careful of letting them know about it for combat purposes, anybody would have been severely outclassed by this kind of magic with that kind of strength. It wouldn¡¯t have been a victory for us, it would have been a massacre by them if they knew about combat magic.¡¯ Gregory didn¡¯t want to stay anymore, but he could still not seem to be able to return to his timeline yet, as if it was foggy in his memory. It was no longer set in stone, he needed to fix that before he could travel back there. Looking about though, he saw that nearly everybody looked inhuman in some way or another. The many that weren¡¯t shaman and wearing long robes revealed even tails and some fur on them, showing that they were definitely not regular humans. From what the shaman had said, everybody was this way, except for the very young. ¡¯What did the Europeans do when they came over? Did they kill all the adults and leave only the children? It would explain why there are no longer any mixed breed Native Americans about in my time. Still though, that kind of massacre is unimaginable. I can¡¯t believe anybody would do such a thing.¡¯ ¡±It seems like a great place, and very secure. Is that the only way in?¡± ¡±Not the only way, the chieftain can get in from anywhere, but the only way that everybody else can use.¡± Gregory looked amazed, such an incredible culture and they were this far advanced with magical knowledge. ¡¯We could really learn a thing or two from such people, but it would be dangerous to stay any longer. Still though, they seem to really excel in the arts of spatial magic. I need to see what I can do to learn that. For now though, I should ask about a place to stay until such time as I can leave.¡¯ The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 9 (Welcoming Ceremony) Gregory was amazed at how advanced the Native American¡¯s understanding and use over magic was, demonstrating a certain profound knowledge that puzzled even Gregory. Looking about at the people, he saw that some of them even showed mythical creatures having been mixed with them. ¡¯How exactly does this work? All the shaman said was that the children go through a ritual, and that it merges their nature animal with their bodies. Some of these people look like birds and are giving off flames, indicating a phoenix. For that to be true, it would mean that any animal in existence could be a person¡¯s nature animal. Especially considering the phoenix came from Greek mythology, and was likely never even here. How then is the nature animal chosen. It can¡¯t be a favorite animal, but is probably somehow connected to how a person¡¯s personality is. If that is the case, what would that make me?¡¯ ¡±How does a person end up with a nature animal? It seems like almost everybody has a different animal, so it doesn¡¯t seem to just be a favorite animal. I know that this question seems rather strange, but I am really very curious.¡± The shaman responded back, as truthfully as he could without giving away the exact secrets of the ritual. ¡±Well, it seems that every person¡¯s soul houses an animal naturally. The animal it houses depends on the person. What I can say is that what we do brings that animal out, and the strength of the person determines what takes over. I have seen some of the children transform into the animal entirely and cause a rampage, needing to be stopped to prevent destruction.¡± Gregory looked shocked, but also interested in what the man had said. ¡¯With this being the case, would it be possible for me to also be transformed in this way. I really don¡¯t want to cause danger to my future though. I just can¡¯t decide what the best course of action would be. For now though, I will ask about helping make weapons for the village.¡¯ ¡±It seems you appear interested in this ritual. It would be possible for you, but we¡¯d like you to first become a part of the tribe before we do anything like that.¡± ¡±I was actually thinking I might help you in crafting weapons and armor for your tribespeople. I can tell it is something probably necessary, and my expertise may be beneficial to you.¡± Gregory was not going to craft any items out of metals, but would make them weapons out of wood and stone as they were already doing. Whatever he could do to help these people and gain their trust would be a good thing. If he could learn from them before leaving himself, he would come out far ahead from what anybody thought possible. ¡±Well, we could use that. If you would like to assist with that, we could really use the help. I know you come from a peaceful time, but there are constant wars between the tribes. It is why we cannot trust you right now. Before Gregory stood a giant man, seemingly further transformed than many of the other people. He had no visible tail, though it was rather obvious why. His head looked similar to that of a bear, and his body certainly had the physique of one. After a few spoken words to him by the shaman, the chief looked down at Gregory. As he spoke, his voice boomed like the voice a kind should have. It was a voice without fear, and with total conviction. ¡±I understand your name is Gregory. My name is Nahko, and I am the chief of this tribe. I can tell from your scent you are not of this tribe, or even this land. There is something that smells very different about you. If you want to fit in and stay though, I recommend you see about wearing the same clothes as everybody else. Now, I understand you want to help by making weapons. I first want a demonstration of your work. Have something done by tomorrow morning, and I will let you do that if you meet up to my expectations. Keep in mind also, it needs to be fitted for every man. I want something made for me, so remember that when making whatever you make. Nijuga will direct you to a tent and give you tools to complete your task there.¡± At this, Nijuga left without a word, leading Gregory to the tent before saying just one more thing. ¡±I wish you the best of luck, truly I do. You seem like a good person, and it would be nice to have another curious mind about the village.¡± Nijuga returned shortly with the tools and clothes, before leaving. Beginning to craft, Gregory noticed a window pop up, wondering what could possible cause such a thing. Looking at the window, he realized that the system was evolving itself. It recognized that Blacksmithing was short on the crafts, and split it to completely cover all crafts present and future. The system notification indicated that there was now a weaponcrafting, and armorcrafting skill in place of blacksmithing. This made more sense anyways, as it now allowed him to gain more crafts than just those requiring metals to be created. Gregory then pulled up his skills list, wanting to check on what is new.

Considering that Gregory had trained in that skill substantially, and almost entirely in armor crafting after the time at the blacksmith¡¯s, it did not surprise him that they both had the level of 54 now. It did pleasantly surprise him that even armorcrafting was intermediate though. He expected it to be either lower leveled or not intermediate. Still though, it didn¡¯t both him, and it only drove him to further improve his skills. After having created the items, the first a large club made of a heavy wood with a large stone wrapped in place at the head of the weapon; the second a shield with heavy branches around the border, and multiple layers of leather in the middle. These items seemed fit for a man of that size, and from what he saw around the area, were easily stronger than most items from the locals. If these became his job, he may even be able to level up with just these materials being used. Especially considering his time would no longer pass, and he could just do this until such time as he could get away or learn from a shaman about the magic these natives used. ¡¯I wonder though, the chief called them clothes. I don¡¯t think the word clothes was used by the Native Americans. I think they referred to their clothes as skins or some other word in their language. Perhaps this Gamer¡¯s Gift skill is more powerful than I even realized. It seems to translate words into ones I would immediately understand for what somebody would call something. Working the same in reverse is also a must, since they never looked at me in a strange way. Granting such a powerful ability along with the other benefits I¡¯ve seen, seems almost overpowered for just one skill.¡¯ Also, Gregory¡¯s status window had changed. DEX and END appeared as new statuses in the list. While he had gotten faster as his AGI went up, it was more so that AGI went up as he gained DEX. Seeing as how the abilities in his status window currently limited him, these new abilities would improve his arsenal. They would also reduce his combat effectiveness though, since it meant the need to focus on more abilities with his status points. Viewing their effects, he saw that DEX focused solely on how quickly he could move. He also saw that it had more impact per point on speed that AGI previously had. In fact, it gave him a full mile-per-hour faster movement for every level, which seemed to be a really good amount considering the current point value. This meant that he had actually gained more speed than three AGI would have given him. END on the other hand directly affected the body¡¯s ability to take hits. It was based off strength currently, and as a skill reduced the damage taken from all physical attacks. The one thing that seemed best about this status was that it would also likely reduce the damage taken from weapons such as his Xi Blade. At present, it gave resistance at a rate of .5% per 10 levels, or 1% per 20 levels. Gregory went to sleep for just an hour, before shooting awake. Seeing as he had changed, leaving his modern clothes inside his Protected Space, there was nothing to make him seem too different from the people of the tribe. His hair and skin though were still starkly different from the others, but it wasn¡¯t enough to tell in the dark without being close. Then again, these are almost all part animal, and would likely be able to see in the dark. Regardless, Gregory was out taking a walk, and the chief had made known that he would be in the village for now. When the chief awoke, he would come to Gregory to see the work he had done, and Gregory had finished a weapon and shield, but then decided to make more. There was plenty of time, and he figured it would help his standing. Grabbing the sinewy muscle of a deer, and a long log of wood, Gregory got to work again. Inside his tent, he got the muscle into the form of a bowstring, and was now working on getting the wood into the form of a bow. He wasn¡¯t taking long, not wanting to craft a unique weapon if he could avoid it, but wanting to make sure the quality showed through. Such a combination was tough to pull off. Morning came though, and the chief walked inside the tent. He half expected Gregory to be asleep, so finding him working on a fourth item shocked him. It was a stone dagger with a good sized blade and large handle, one that seemed perfect for his hand. ¡±Alright, based upon your skills, I will make you a member of the tribe. We will be having a ceremony later today, and I expect you to be looking your best.¡± Nahko left Gregory¡¯s tent, and would leave him to make his preparation for the welcoming ceremony. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 10 (Member of the Tribe) Gregory had gained the approval of the tribe¡¯s chief, and it seemed that meant he would become part of the tribe. This also meant that he would be having some extra difficulty in getting back home, not knowing how to rectify the timeline. He could definitely learn from these people though, if not in crafting skills, at least in the ways of magic. Dressing in some ceremonial clothing he had gotten from the chieftain, Gregory prepared himself completely for the event in his honor. ¡¯I don¡¯t think I¡¯ve changed anything yet, though why I can¡¯t escape this timeline confuses me.¡¯ Fully dressed, and now fully prepared for the ceremony, Gregory left his tent and went for the center of the village. As he walked, he realized that he seemed to be late to his own party. All the tents he was passing were empty and he could see that there was magic flowing in the center of the village. ¡¯Should¡¯ve gotten ready sooner, but this can be a good demonstration to the kind of power these people possess. From what I¡¯ve heard though, magic was never used in combat. That means that all this magic is just used for rituals and livelihood. For such a thing to be true means that their creativity in spells must be unique. Perhaps I can learn how to live off magic using the things I can learn in this time.¡¯ Reaching the center of the village, he saw three shaman dancing about the fire, sparking it larger with every movement. They were all channeling energy into the fire, and it seemed to be reaching higher than he could imagine. ¡¯If something like this were used for combat, there¡¯d be serious problems for any enemies. Even my fire based spell would¡¯ve match up to the heat or height that this spell covers. Not to mention it is harder to make a taller flame, than a flame covering more area.¡¯ Gregory had been instructed to wait for the chief¡¯s announcement of him before coming to stand in front of the tribe. It sounded like they would perform the ritual to bring out his animal later on, probably since they still did not completely trust him. They did believe that he couldn¡¯t hurt them though, due to the fact that he was completely human and that made him weaker. At least in their eyes it made him weaker; they only fought physically, so being weaker physically meant being weaker to them. What they didn¡¯t know is that as an individual, his magic surpassed even their best shaman, and would make him a match for nearly any of them. Still though, Gregory was amazed at the power and skill with which these people wielded magic. Not a single one of them didn¡¯t have it, and the shaman seemed capable of almost any form of magic. ¡¯If they ever used magic for combat, I¡¯d be sorry for the army up against them. I know I¡¯ve thought this before, but it is just indisputable. Their power in magic seems unmatched, at least by conventional means. On top of that, they could counter nearly any element. If I knew what I know now when I first heard Aetius tell me to get away, I would have at least gotten away if I couldn¡¯t move through time at that moment. Now, I can¡¯t move through time and have no idea what I should do to get back to my time.¡¯ The time had come for Gregory to come up next to the chief, and be appointed a member of the tribe. This would normally have never happened, but Gregory was definitely not from another tribe and had proven himself capable of helping the village. It didn¡¯t seem he was an enemy, and would probably be able to help substantially if he could create more weapons like he had for the chief. These were the thoughts racing through the chief¡¯s mind when he made the decision to let this young man become a member of the tribe. Regardless of all logic though, Nahko¡¯s mind screamed that this young man would change their tribe forever if he was allowed in. He guessed that it was just the animal talking though, Gregory had made the point that he was capable and would help out. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. He has proven to me that he is able to help us by manufacturing powerful weapons, and I think he will be the one to assist us in outfitting all our fighters. In one week¡¯s time, he will be given the right to perform the ritual to transform himself as we all have been. If there is anything you find against him in that time bring it to me, and the ritual will be put off.¡±[/i] The chief said such a thing, hoping that he could find a reason to refuse the young man. Gregory sent shivers up his spine, but he wanted to believe that Gregory would only help them. [color=yellow]¡¯The first thing I need to do is let this young man in on the ability to get into the village.¡¯ At the same time, Gregory was confused by this man, his entire status window was hidden from him. It seemed that until the ceremony was over, he wouldn¡¯t be able to read this man at all. Although, all the other people of the village had their status menu¡¯s available as soon as the chief let everybody know he was a member of the tribe. It confused Gregory, but he thought it best to leave it alone until he had a chance to talk to the chief later. Using his Reveal so often had also given him a few more levels and gotten it to a level of 75 now. It gave him a new ability with it, the ability to reveal people¡¯s emotional states. Using it showed that many of the people had a similar feeling toward him. Interest and curiosity were almost universal, while there were some that had feelings such as envy and desire as well. ¡¯Probably not a good idea to make love interests here. That could really change history if it happened. It would be for the best if I could just get through my studies here and then get back to my timeline.¡¯ Many of the women were also rather unappealing to him, their square facial features something that he did not find attractive in comparison to the women of European descent found in most of America at his time. The sharper and more round features of the nose and chin were something he had grown to find attractive, and the fact that many Native American¡¯s did not have those features pushed his attractions away from them. As the ceremony finished, the festivities finally ending, Gregory was pulled aside by the chief. The chief wanted to tell Gregory about how to travel through the barrier surrounding the village, which would be a magical venture all on its own. This chapter is short I know, but I didn''t want to rush the development in the next chapter. I know this is a cliffhanger, but it is definitely a worthwhile cliffhanger with a good area for development next chapter. There will be a bit of a "training montage" in the next chapter, so whatever he does next chapter will be spaced out over quite some time. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 11 (Spatial Magic) ¡±The ground we are on right now, it is outside of reality. It is a magical place, one that is not all it appears to be. I will make it visible for you, since this area has been so far established, it is linked to me only by the basest of magical connections. I can link others to it, but it requires a certain kind of magic to enter. That kind of magic is not possessed by everyone, at least not on the level of me and my ancestors. Take a look around once, now that I am preparing to connect you to it.¡± Gregory saw what almost looked like a protected space based on the magical signature, except that it had only one exit to the outside world. He also said that not everybody possessed the magic necessary to enter or leave this area, which means it must be a unique type of magic. ¡¯What kind of magic would not be accessible to everyone, and could do something like this? Wait¡­ could it be spatial magic? These people were all capable of using spatial magic? Could Aetius have known that, and that was the reason he told me not to change things? It would partially explain things, Aetius said that spatial magic is the most powerful of all, and that those skilled with it are the most dangerous mages in the world.¡¯ ¡±It seems you are curious about this magic, let me tell you that I can only give you the most basic connection to the magic that you need for this. Also, bestowal of this magic is not an easy thing. For those that cannot use it naturally, and especially so with those that have a resistance to gaining it, a person¡¯s magical energies push away from gaining it. This is the reason we have so few shaman to help with our rituals, since many of the people here do not have enough magical energy to perform those rituals.¡± ¡±So, it vastly reduces magical supply from what I understand. If that is the case, how do people get in then?¡± ¡±The spell itself takes very little energy to get in here, so nearly anybody can use it once they have the energy required to cast the spell.¡± Putting forth his hands, Nahko started flowing energy through them. The energy he was flowing was pure spatial magic, the magic required to bend the space between true reality and this location outside reality. He could feel more resistance from Gregory though than he had ever felt before, a resistance that almost seemed like it wouldn¡¯t mix with his energies even on the most basic level. No matter how much energy he put into the spell, it just didn¡¯t seem like enough to bring this person to a point where he would accept the spatial magic. Although, Nahko thought it was just that he had a hard time accepting magic and needed to have it brought into him. Gregory on the other hand felt as if he was being completely drained of magical energy, to such a point that he wouldn¡¯t be able to even use magic after this. ¡¯I am guessing this is spatial magic, but it is totally unlike learning how to use time magic. Having it forced into my like this is draining me almost entirely. It is like he is forcefully performing the process that I went through to gain temporal magic. If this doesn¡¯t kill me, I have a feeling I will need to go through serious training just to be able to use spatial magic.¡¯ At that moment, the chief suddenly felt Gregory¡¯s mana flare. He could feel the spatial magic coming off of Gregory, and it was quite the amount. ¡¯So much energy used to give him the ability to enter this place, and he has at least as much still as some of our strongest shaman do now. This boy is very impressive. If he ever trained, he would probably be our most helpful shaman during rituals.¡¯ Gregory passed out after the chief¡¯s spell was over, but his mind was still working on a separate plane. ¡¯What happened to me just then? I feel as if I have been almost entirely stripped of magic. I bet it had something to do with forcing the magic into me, probably due to the heavy resistance from having temporal magic as well. At least I did get a notification informing me of gaining spatial magic mastery, but the level was only at novice. I need to read the description.¡¯ Viewing his skill list showed three new skills, the spatial magic mastery, a space warp spell, and a teleportation spell.

Spatial magic is a form of magic that gives people access to a backdoor through the world. They can perform spells to warp space around them and make a real world area into somewhat of a protected space. The novice level allows only novice level spells, and none of the spells gain any bonus power.

While the main rules of the area cannot be broken with this spell, it can allow access to the outer most levels. The use can also be used to enter areas outside of reality, areas placed there through turning a real piece of land into a pseudo-protected space.

Viewing these skills revealed something to Gregory, and that was just how many uses spatial magic had in making people stronger. ¡¯Since these don¡¯t seem to be causing my mana down, I need to check my status. More precisely, a buff/debuff list is what needs to be checked. There is sometimes a window just for those, and it would probably give me a 100% accurate idea of what is wrong.¡¯ As he thought about it, the screen came up and he saw a very interesting status effect, the only one that showed up in red. There were also two in green, though they were basically explained in his status as his classes. He also noticed that the one in red was the only temporary debuff, which meant it could be cured or removed somehow.

The only way to cure this ailment is to bring the cause/s of the curse up to a level that they fully synchronize with the bearer. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Suddenly, Gregory realized what the problem was, his spatial magic mastery was too low. Since temporal magic mastery was at intermediate, it was a definitive part of Gregory¡¯s magic supply, but as spatial magic mastery was only novice, it was barely with him. Until he got affinity for it up to a point that it was entirely a part of him, this status would not leave him. He could also tell that beginner would not be enough. He could feel how it was when water and wind mastery were only beginner, it seemed as though he could not come up with spells for them. Their ¡°frequency¡± seemed to escape him. It was probably the same way with spatial magic. Except of course, instead of not being able to create spells for it, he would be severely handicapped in magic until he mastered it to the intermediate level. Gregory waited for an hour, and then was forcefully pushed awake by his Gamer¡¯s Gift. He had a longshot hope, but the debuff did not remove after rest. ¡¯Seems that status effects with either a permanent or conditional existence will not remove. At least, not without the condition being met for a conditional effect.¡¯ He pushed his body up, but felt empty from the massive mana curse. The power of that debuff took a big chunk out of his power, and he could feel it. Gregory channeled his magic, and opened the rift to his protected space. Entering into the area, he used the active portion of his temporal magic mastery, but even it seemed to consume a substantial bit of his mana. He still had more than enough regenerating through his WIS and mana absorption skill, but it was a heavy draw upon his resources. He began to continuously make space warps, using them to travel between various areas of his protected space. He could use it 33 times every minute right now, and still keep his temporal magic mastery active going. Unfortunately, the levels of space warp and spatial magic mastery seemed to climb very slowly even now. After nearly an hour, both had only just reached reached level 5. On top of that, neither gave any new bonus for the level reached. On the other hand, temporal magic mastery was leveling at a decent pace. It had reached level 19, and even dropped in consumption to only 82 mana every minute instead of 100. ¡¯What makes up the difference in leveling speed between temporal magic, and spatial magic? If anything, spatial magic being a lower level and mastery should give it faster training. Unless of course, massive mana curse is adversely affecting my ability to learn spatial magic; that would make some sense if it is weakening me in the first place. To top it off, I learn fire mastery slower than ice mastery, so this must be a branch of that logic.¡¯ Gregory continued to train, his temporal magic mastery going up far slower after level 25. Instead of having gained the first 24 levels in two hours, the next levels were taking almost two hours a piece. By the time his mastery reached 35, it took a full day for it to go up one level. The system knew how he could train, and it intentionally kept him from abusing that to level up the magic used to level so quickly. Spatial magic on the other hand had finally started to pick up a pace. After a week, it had reached level 97 in novice rank. A day after that, Gregory had finally reached Beginner rank in spatial magic and unlocked access to the Teleport spell. As the next weeks turned into months inside of his protected space, Gregory was growing wearing of his training. It had begun to move so much slower when leveling up spatial magic after reaching Beginner. Three months had passed and still it was only level 31. On the other hand, temporal magic had finally reached into the 90s. Level 90 had just been reached yesterday, and the cost had been reduced all the way down to 11. On top of that, he was able to spawn elementals again. He created only two elementals though, spatial and temporal elementals. It slightly surprised him that such things were possible, but he was glad about it nonetheless. Time continued to flow by in Gregory¡¯s protected space, his temporal abilities making the training so much more bearable. On top of that, Gregory¡¯s ¡°Gamer¡¯s Gift¡± allowed him to not need sustenance to live. 23 total months have passed now, and Gregory is barely keeping sanity by a thread. Every one of his skills worked in unison to keep him going at full grinding speed, which was the only thing he could tell himself to prevent stopping. His elemental summoning skill had grown to advanced level 9, giving him not only stronger golems, but up to 9 of each element at a time of this stronger golem. Temporal mastery had reached advanced, but then force stopped. The active reduced to requiring no mana, and therefore stopped giving proficiency when active. That did make sense though, considering it was a mostly passive skill anyways. In addition, his spatial magic had finally been at intermediate level 99 for almost a week. It was already three days longer than the previous level, and he only used the teleportation skill more. He could tell that the experience was getting close, and he needed to be rid of the massive mana curse to free himself of this timeline. Then at last, it notified him of a level up. The system notified him that spatial magic mastery had reached intermediate, that teleport had gained a ¡°blink¡± feature, and that massive mana curse had been lifted. Double checking his buff/debuff window, he saw it had been cleared of the one negative effect, only having the two green family bonuses on him. He left his protected space, and slept for three hours, intentionally putting off his system just to rest some. ¡¯I have done enough grinding for a year, I think I deserve at least a few hours¡¯ reprieve. At the very least, I no longer need to worry about not being able to leave this timeline. I have regained my full magical energy, and am fully capable now of returning to my time whenever I please.¡¯ What Gregory hadn¡¯t realized in his skills window though, was that temporal magic had also given him a new passive, to see the hand of ¡°fate¡± in the world. This is what Aetius had mentioned, knowing how an event changing in the past will affect the person¡¯s present. What was presently revealed to him, was that just by travelling to the past, he would have been disallowed from leaving. He was temporally locked immediately until such time as he rectified the timeline to the best of his current knowledge and ability. Gregory would need to become the mage that Aetius had said he heard of being an expert at both temporal and spatial magics. First though, he needed a way off the Americas, since he couldn¡¯t create a boat on short notice, and he had never been to Europe before. He hoped that whatever his spirit animal was would allow extended flight over the ocean. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 12 (The Spirit Animal) Gregory had grown in power and skill since he had been in the past; it had been the full week since the welcoming ceremony, and they wanted to officiate Gregory¡¯s place in the tribe. Many things had happened in the past week, Gregory had begun working on an ocean-worthy boat and been training his armor and weapon crafting as much as possible over this time. Gregory had gained only one new skill over this week, the shipbuilding skill that would allow him to create his own ocean or sea-worthy boats and ships.

The items he had crafted numbered quite high, having been given the task of re-outfitting the village. He had gained multiple levels in his armor and weapon crafting skills, armorcrafting having reached 79 and weaponcrafting getting to 85. He had also been given the task of crafting jewelry for the people of the village. He had managed to begin gaining major levels here also. He found that in this era, he gained more experience from simpler crafts. ¡¯Seems that reception of an item determines experience gained. Considering these people took the items he made as if they were the best items they had ever seen, Gregory gained massive experience from the items. The jewelry still seems to give slower gains though, as these people were very skilled at crafting the beads into necklaces.¡¯ As the week passed though, Gregory had finally reached beginner rank in jewelry crafting, and became able to make successful crafts every time. He had also half-finished his boat, and gotten shipbuilding to 23. Having explored the area around the village, Gregory found it strange that there were no dungeons. He had navigated every bit of land in the area around the village, even going so far as to use mystic sight in conjunction with reveal to show any slight traces of anything. ¡¯I don¡¯t know why, but I have a feeling that the dungeons were something that were created by Europeans. Either that, or there was some worldwide event that caused them to appear. The real question is then, how do I grow stronger in level until I can fight non-human beings again?¡¯ Training constantly in physical abilities for a week every night had eventually granted enough experience to gain a level, which made sense in order to prevent him from being too powerful for his level. In all, he had gotten STR to 23, END to 25, VIT to 24, AGI to 31, and DEX to 37. Still though, many of these people were level one or two and would crush him in a physical matchup due to their stats. The warriors of the tribe were stronger, up to level 79 aside from the chieftain. He was level 137, and had physical stats all of which were 700 or higher, with his strength reaching 1009 and endurance to 996. Viewing his status window though, revealed that the bonuses granted passively by Gregory¡¯s stats did not affect everybody for their stats. Viewing his buffs, he viewed five bonuses, all of which were granted for having a high number in the stat. The bonus for strength was a doubled power based on the number, and the bonus for endurance was a 50% reduction in physical damage taken. Most people would not even be able to damage this man, at least not without some very great strength. Gregory had grown more and more afraid of North America pre-1800s, since that was the time it seemed that their culture had been vanquished. These people were monsters, and there was no way he could beat the chieftain, let alone most of the people here. ¡¯Here I thought at first that I was super OP. It would take all of my skills just to stay alive if I were to fight one of them. Well, Aetius had said that they were stronger. Seeing this makes me realize though, those with mixed blood are very strong and dangerous people. In fact, based on those abilities, they are almost not human anymore.¡¯ Gregory¡¯s main goal over this past week, regardless of what he had been doing, was to escape from North America, since he had gained the ability to move forward in time again. Although he could move forward in time however, he could not move further forward than around 1300 or 1400 A.D. There was some kind of lock in place regarding that time, and until he released it from himself, he would not be able to get back to his time. He did know though, that he needed to get to Europe in order to fulfill whatever conditions there were to get back to his own time. By his own estimates, the year was about 500 A.D. This was not a precise guess, but he did guess by looking that the stars so it couldn¡¯t have been too far off. Two skills were being practiced by Gregory though, as he wanted to make sure he had them before he got to Europe. The first was a necessity, but also the harder of the two; the second was easier, but was only desired. The skills were transformation, and skill sharing. The aim for the first skill was to change the user¡¯s appearance and unique abilities based on form. The second was what he saw the chieftain use, which gave Gregory the exact blueprints for performing the technique except that it was done different for Gregory than any other. This required him to change the spell, and he couldn¡¯t practice until he had another person to try it on, which he wouldn¡¯t have until he could reach Europe. Anybody here would know what the technique was and figure him out as some person that uses magic for more than just rituals. He had to conceal at least that about himself; If nothing else, Gregory had to hide his ability to perform magic for combat. Since the weapons and shields Gregory made had turned out so nicely, and were finished for everybody of the village, Gregory asked the chieftain about changing his village profession. Only one other job suited his idea of gaining more skill and power though. ¡¯I need to tell him I want Shaman training; it is the only way to learn how they have access to all the elements.¡¯ ¡±I would like to have training on becoming a shaman; it is the one job in the tribe I feel I could do best at aside from my current one. I suppose it isn¡¯t really much of a job though. I have seen many people crafting their own weapons, and it does not seem hard. In fact, I think you sent some extra people my way just because I offered to do this. I really do not want to hinder the tribe, and take up a useless job when I could be doing something to help out more.¡± A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. The chieftain jumped right on this. He thought Gregory¡¯s reserves were still lowered, but knew that they were still considerably high. It meant that he would be able to perform the spells with more proficiency and power than the other shaman, while doing it solo. ¡±I will accept your proposition, and appreciate your willingness to help with the village. Just to let you know, the duties of shaman are not easy. You will need to learn to cure the ailments of fellow tribal members, and how to perform the rituals the same as all the other shaman in the tribe. The ceremony was about to begin, Gregory was sat down in the gathering tent. There was a large fire inside, and magic being flowed into the smoke coming off of it. In the magic, there was a powerful spell, a spell that would bring out the spirits nature animal. Even with all of his knowledge, Gregory was lost and frightened slightly by this ritual. He didn¡¯t find fear in knowing his nature animal, but what might happen if something went wrong. He was not Native American, and was much older than the people normally undergoing this ritual. It was possible that he could end up seriously hurt or killed because of the ritual he was being put through. As the mana swirled inside of him, Gregory could feel changes. He could feel something deep inside of him growing, taking up his body. It felt as if his body was a home, and that whatever else was consuming him was using the physical portion of that home to become more comfortable. He didn¡¯t know what exactly would happen yet, but he could feel magical energy electrifying his body. He knew that as soon as the spirit animal fully awakes, it would begin to change the body through those electrified channels. ¡¯Can I stop this, what if I don¡¯t want to change yet? I am not ready to not be myself anymore, I want to stay a human. I shouldn¡¯t have done this, even if it is necessary for gaining all the elements the same way these Native Americans have. I don¡¯t care if I become stronger as a result, I just don¡¯t want this anymore.¡¯ At that moment, the animal woke up. Gregory could feel something cold moving throughout the open mana circuits, and into his skin and muscles. The energy seemed to be locating itself in certain locations throughout his body. The energy was pushing itself into his back, focusing on the spinal cord, his hand and part of his forearms, his eyes, as well as throughout his entire body to some degree. As the true changes began taking place, Gregory¡¯s body forced him asleep for them. The pain these changes were causing to Gregory was enough to tear his mind apart without sleep. His back was being covered in scales, with the base coming out to form a tail. His eyes were also growing scales around them, with the irises becoming elongated, narrow, like those of a feline but thinner. His hand and forearms grew scales, with his fingertips being changed into claws. The full body changes involved Gregory¡¯s bones and muscles. His bones were becoming lighter, but stronger and more flexible at the same time. Necessary changes to prevent them from cracking any easier because of their now less dense form. His muscles were also changing slightly, becoming stronger throughout and more densely packed in his back. An hour later, Gregory shot awake. He could feel no pain, and then saw the chieftain walk into his tent. He let out a small sigh of relief, thinking that the ritual hadn¡¯t actually been done yet. He began to sit up, but felt a lump as he did so. He was afraid to reach down for it, guessing that he knew what it was. He reached his hands to his ears though, and was relieved again when they felt the same as before. ¡±I have never seen anything like you before, I can¡¯t place you in any animal family I have seen to date. Believe me, I have seen many different spirit animals come forth; some of them were different, but were at least able to be placed in groups the tribe has seen previously. My question is, do you know what your spirit animals actually IS? Gregory then saw what he didn¡¯t notice before. ¡¯Here I thought selective vision was a myth, seems it has more basis than I thought it did.¡¯ Gregory saw his hands now, seeing the scales and claws on them. His mind rushed to fear and anxiety immediately, foregoing logical reasoning the second he realized he had transformed. He then took deep breaths, forcefully relaxing himself that way. Nearly completely relaxed once again, Gregory looks at his claws and tail. He felt along his back, but a lack of wings confused him. ¡±Is there any way to tell aside from my appearance? Is there some way to communicate with the spirit animal?¡± ¡±In order to communicate, you need to focus on reaching down into your own spirit. The animal is not in your mind, but in the deepest fiber of your being. We have seen men go mad when they make pacts with animals, which is why we draw out the spirit animal. It does not transform your mind through a pact, but changes the body into the truest form. Just reach down inside yourself, and ask what it is.¡± Gregory was slightly relieved at what he heard, also reaffirming what Aetius had said about demons in the flesh of man. ¡¯Seems that I am protected from mental manipulation because of the ritual format, that is a very good thing. Although, would my Gamer¡¯s Gift have protected me anyways? That is a hard thing to answer, but does seem like a possibility. So, what are you inside me? He didn¡¯t get a response back, but half didn¡¯t expect to. He asked his mind, not his ¡®spirit¡¯ as this man called it. He reached down this time, trying to reach into the center of his being, and asked again ¡¯What are you?¡¯ This time though, he got a response. ¡¯I am you, or at least a part of you. I am not a what, but a who. My name is Sophos, Sophos Glaciadraco. If you have any intellect, you should be able to tell my species from that. Never call me a what again though, or you will learn what ice really is.¡¯ ¡±It seems Sophos is a dragon, a mythical creature where I come from.¡± ¡±Interesting, I will leave you be then. Your training as a shaman begins tomorrow.¡± The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 13 (Preparing for Europe) The chieftain had left Gregory¡¯s tent after finding out what his animal was. Gregory used the time after the chief left to view his status window, but found that nothing had changed in regard to his stats. ¡¯None of my physical abilities have gotten stronger; from the way things had looked, strength seemed to be gained immediately. Perhaps there is no gain in strength because of this, or perhaps it only facilitates an easier strengthening of the body. That could explain it, since these people all are very active. They would be much stronger than me, especially if their bodies make for faster and easier strengthening through physical training.¡¯ Digging deep into his spirit, he reached down to speak with the dragon again. ¡¯Sophos, I understand that you are an ice dragon. Does that mean you don¡¯t have a connection to the other elements? I am not sure how closely bound we are, but my place is not in this time. I am from the future, and if I needn¡¯t stay, I will prepare my departure now.¡¯ Sophos responded back in a very ancient and wise tone, although only in the deepest places of Gregory¡¯s mind. ¡¯You certainly are talkative, young one. They were not wrong, most of the time a spirit animal will bring with it the ability to access all elements. They are wrong on some things though, not all beings that merge allow it. I am not an animal as they call it, but a being of near infinite age and wisdom. Of course, giving you that wisdom would be a bit na?ve of me. I have seen people with the wisdom I impart to them, use it to lay waste to entire continents and empires. However, from the feel of it, you will also have the opportunity to live forever. Perhaps we can become friends you and I, I have heard some dragons I¡¯ve known speak well of such a connection with a human.¡¯ Gregory looked shocked at Sophos¡¯ suggestion, but gave a quick response. ¡¯I would really enjoy that, it would be good to have a friend always around.¡¯ Sophos simply laughed at this before vanishing his trace for the moment. Gregory opened his eyes, the almost whitish blue color they were glimmering in the darkness. It seemed that Sophos could not grant access to all elements like so many of the other beasts these people have. However, he was sentient and so much more powerful than any normal animal. ¡¯Probably best for me to leave then, but how do I do it without getting found out? I would need to find a way to make it look like I¡¯ve died, which will be very difficult. I could also do with learning the transformation skill now, especially since I am part dragon and it would be the best way to fit in with society in my time.¡¯ Two skills were now placed on Gregory¡¯s list of need to learn, the transformation spell he had been working on and a cloning spell. He felt that he had a good step done on the transformation skill, since he was already able to bend the mana in his body, he just had very little to change with it. With the cloning spell, he didn¡¯t even need consciousness, just some clone that would have his appearance. He instantly created a protected space, which he entered to begin training on gaining these two new spells. The room he entered was one of the empty rooms, but had the look of a forest clearing. Gregory only needed his cloning skill right now, since he still needed to finish the boat he was building before he could get to Europe. He knew that it could change the future if anything changed, so Gregory had to make a way out of the area without causing suspicion. As he was thinking about how he could make a cloning ability, the answer came to him as if in a revelation. The key to cloning was creating an exact replica of the body; perhaps if Gregory were to use his mana as a kind of 3D printer, it would allow him to copy his body before moving it outside to actually create it. Other possibilities could include spreading his mana across his entire body, before moving it out as a copy of his body. While he could go with scientific approaches, Gregory wanted something non-sentient. He couldn¡¯t imagine killing anything, let alone himself, if it were actually knowing of what was happening. As the time moved by, though only for him right now, Gregory was nearing completion of the spell. He had tried to use the 3D printing method, but he could feel that there were never any real traces of magic or life. If even he could feel it, then these people who were more in tuned with nature would too. The second method though, came up with startling success. It had no consciousness, but was an exact genetic replica. To top it off, the replica actually came out ¡°alive.¡± At least alive in the sense that it had basic life functions, but was nothing more than a shell. ¡¯I need to kill it, somebody possessing this body would be very dangerous.¡¯ He also got a system message, letting him know that for being the first to create an advanced level cloning magic, he had been granted 20 INT. Stolen story; please report. Pulling out the Xi Blade, Gregory halted before putting it back in his inventory. This had to be done by an animal or other tribe. Grabbing a stone weapon he had made for himself, Gregory began stabbing and slicing the body that looked just like his own. It was a strange thing to do this, but he knew it had to be done to preserve his timeline. There were a few things he could see now though, such as the frosty white scales covering his back, forearms, tail, and the face just around his eyes. Gregory also saw how his eyes were just a little bit bluer in color, a frosty bluish white instead. Finishing the mutilation of his body, Gregory lifted it into his inventory. It had the inventory title of ¡°Deceased Diversion Clone.¡± It almost seemed to indicate that it knew of it non-sentience, and how it would be used. It wouldn¡¯t be quite as a diversion, but it would divert them from the truth. Checking his skill window, Gregory saw that there was indeed a skill called diversion clone at the bottom.

Leaving his protected space, Gregory ran for the exit to the village before taking it and heading out. He placed the clone a couple miles from the village, close enough to be found but far enough to put out doubt. Following this, Gregory went to the shoreline, uncovering the boat he was building before getting back to work. He Touched the boat, and brought it with him into his protected space. He continued his work on it, using a tar substance to weather-seal the entire outside of the boat. It would be considered a dangerous journey, but Gregory also knew that he was strong enough to keep away whatever ocean terrors may come to him. He had Ice magic, and could use it to freeze whatever attacked him. Already planning out the entire journey, he only knew that he had to travel west and almost straight west. He had also placed some food in his inventory; though Gregory didn¡¯t really need it anymore, it helped keep the dragon quiet to have something. That too made Gregory wonder, the dragon was inside him, how could it feel hunger. Regardless, it probably just wanted to have some fun with Gregory. After three days of time, Gregory had finished the boat, getting shipbuilding to a level of 31. Now leaving North America, Gregory would begin his time in Europe as soon as he got there. The journey would also give him some time to practice a transformation skill, one that could give him more or fewer physical characteristics of his spirit animal. He had used sails and a rudder as the form of movement for the boat, wanting to preserve his time and energy for practice instead of paddling a boat. Not that he couldn¡¯t paddle the boat, he had made two oars, but he wanted to work on some spells first. I know the chapter is short, but the power had gone out at home for too long and the computer didn''t save most of it. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you enjoy the next part of the story. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 14 (Entering Europe) Gregory had found out a new feature on his Gamer¡¯s Gift system, a world map menu. He checked it every day, finding out how much space he had covered and to check that he was still heading the right way. Even better, he had been the first to discover a few islands in the area. They were totally uninhabited except by animals, and were mostly quite small. A few of them were large enough, but none of the size that they could hold anything larger than a large township. His attempts at transformation were always close to success, but never completely there. No matter how hard he tried to use the mana to convert his body, it took mana until he ran out and even then did not keep shape. Gregory had to find a way to convert his actual genetic code using magic, remove the dragon from the outside layer, but find a way to ¡°memorize¡± his current genetic code. ¡¯Wait, I use mana to remember times for temporal magic, perhaps I can store genetic code the same way. My only question is, how do I get access to purely human DNA for the transformation magic? Should I try using the DNA in the skin covering most of my body? That might just work.¡¯ Channeling magic once more, he used his mana as a sort of ¡°memory¡± for the DNA signatures in his entire body. He then took what he guessed was the human DNA, and applied those cells to his scaled body parts. It seemed to work, though not entirely. He still had a tail, and his eyes still had irises like slits. He tried again, removing the excess DNA for his tail and eye changes. He left his muscle and bone the same though, as those were unnoticeable unless he was in surgery. Having finally found out what he needed to do for the transformation to full human, he decided to try a full dragon transformation. He manipulated his cells to create wings as well, which were lined with bones and powerful muscles, both sides of the leathery skin covering in scales. Once the full transformation had taken place, he was still about the size of a human, but was almost entirely dragon in appearance. The only exception being that his eyes retained their white human border. He then tried to bring the wings back in, making himself look like a giant lizard instead. Successfully finishing the spell, he noticed that the system dinged with the acceptance of his work as completing a spell. Deciding to check the notification, Gregory saw that it could be used in quite the number of ways. [/tr]

Now finished with a way to fit in to European society, Gregory just wanted to get done with the journey as quickly as possible. In order to do that though, he would still need to almost double the current distance he had travelled. Already, he had spent a half a month and was barely half-way there. He decided to begin using the oars he had made, paddling to make better time. As he paddled, he could feel his muscles getting gradually stronger, able to notice very slight differences over every four hours going by. He was also using his transformation skill¡¯s ability to give him wings, flapping them as much as possible to create stronger winds for the sails. ¡¯I wonder if I could use mana on the wings to create a stronger funnel of wind. It would allow me to definitely get there even faster, and could possibly be used to help me fly easier if I ever wanted to. It could create stronger currents of air beneath me, giving me more air for every flap.¡¯ He would try, but Gregory wouldn¡¯t finish any spell for helping push the air with his wings. The problem with the spell, was that the dragon¡¯s scales are resistant to magic, pushing mana off of them and making it hard to put an active spell on a dragon¡¯s body. There was one thing he discovered on another currently undiscovered island though, he could actually achieve flight with the wings. It was definitely not like a true dragon¡¯s flight, but with enough strength it should reach that point. His time was getting gradually better, saving a day and a half over a week of paddling. Using the currents and winds to push him along was the fastest way, but he was training his strength and agility this way as well. Over the next three days, he saved another full day, and then was got there after 25 total days on the Atlantic Ocean. He was a little sore, but his body¡¯s powers made it almost non-existent in comparison to a normal person¡¯s body. ¡¯So much to be grateful for, hardly sore and I have been paddling for 10 days almost straight. I need to check my status window to see what kind of gains I have gotten from the paddling, it probably really helped my strength.¡¯

¡¯It seems that I have grown far stronger through practice, but I am still very low leveled. My strength is definitely at a reasonable level now though, just one level away from what will probably be a new passive ability. AGI is also very close to a new passive ability, just three levels away. This makes it so tempting, but using these points this way will put me at a disadvantage when I really need them to grow stronger. I can still gain physical strength with some training, and AGI can be gained from running, which will also improve DEX. VIT seems to harder to train now, but it does go up a little bit whenever I take damage. That includes converting the 10 health points into more stamina points.¡¯ The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Once he reached the land of Europe, the island of Great Britain to be precise, a status window opened before Gregory.
ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED:CARTOGRAPHER
You have become a cartographer, a map maker, for discovering previously undiscovered islands. You gain the equip-able TITLE of CARTOGRAPHER, as well as 10,000 EXP for accomplishing this task. The CARTOGRAPHER TITLE grants the ability to update your map with all maps currently in existence, as well as being able to discover hidden rooms in dungeons and make a through map of them.
Gregory looked at his titles, wanting to see just what both of them did for him. He thought it strange that his current title would be NOVICE, instead of N/A. Most games had a title of N/A when starting, he had had NOVICE ever since the start. It had been something that he didn¡¯t think about until now, why bother checking the title. He did check them now however, and did only see the two titles. What he found interesting though, is that NOVICE was far more useful than it sounded. It gave a 2% boost to EXP gain, and not a specific type of EXP, but all EXP. This meant that he could get stronger 2% faster, no matter what he was doing. ¡¯Best to keep it NOVICE, there is probably some feature making this TITLE system weaker. Well, most games require a ¡°herald¡± of sorts to change the title. They are NPCs in nearly every village whose sole purpose is to change the title of adventurers. Assuming I am the character, and this is the game, there would probably be a type of magic for granting or changing proficiencies. In my case, they¡¯d probably be locked to proficiencies in the TITLE list, but I need to find such a person first. Unless I activate the tutorial, but that is too risky, I don¡¯t know how much I haven¡¯t found out yet. It can¡¯t be too much anymore, but I don¡¯t need the random pop-up screens either.¡¯ Gregory knew of one thing he needed to do before he could move to his timeline. He also found that he could travel forward in time again, but not quite up to his current time yet. It seemed that the issue was coming from him not fulfilling his role in the past. He had hypothesized, but now was almost certain of his role here. Gregory needed to become the man of whom was said to possess both temporal and spatial magics. The question was though, how to do it without Aetius recognizing him in the future. ¡¯That¡¯s it, Aetius never said he saw the mage that did it, only that there was one. He never did see him, only heard of him from others. This will give me a chance to gain some fame as a sage in this time, perhaps I will even be able to learn some magic from this time to improve my arsenal.¡¯ Being a native of North America from the time 2016, Gregory had a very European appearance. Especially considering both of his families were almost entirely from Europe. Gregory¡¯s father¡¯s line was only from England, where his family line started. His mother¡¯s family on the other hand started in France, but had roots in Italy as well. This made it very easy for Greg to fit in here. His appearance matched perfectly to those around him, and all he needed to do was make clothing for himself. Heading into the land, Gregory grabbed some flax from one of the larger farms, as well as shearing some of their sheep. He needed to make clothes for himself, and there was only one good way to do it. Beginning to work on these clothes, Gregory spun the flax and wool into the cloth he needed first. Completing this, he began to sew the clothes together. Having intermediate sewing, and at the level of 73 in the intermediate bracket, Gregory had very high skill at tailoring compared to the average person. He found out that NOVICE was a level that most apprentices had, and beginner a level that people who have been working for a long time would be satisfied with. Only the very best could be considered what his system called intermediate. At least, that is as far as he knew. Having finished the garments after working on them in his protected space, Gregory heads outside of the protected space and toward the city. What he finds on his way to the city though, makes him quiver. He sees two people fighting out in the open, but not just fighting. They are fighting with high level magic; this magic made the lava mage he saw look weak. These people had covered the area in a field of lava, and were using magic as a sort of platform to stay in the air. The spells one was using were of an element Gregory did not know about. It looked to be a sort of flowing lightning, probably by mixing water and lightning. The other was definitely using the lava. However, the one using the flowing lightning, was able to use his water magic to protect himself form the lava. As the fight continued, one of them used a spell that was making a heat near that of the sun, and was only saved by the one using the flowing lightning using an ice spell. The ice spell was a blizzard type of spell that super-cooled the atmosphere to the point that the heat was completely gone. It then froze the sun, and cracked leaving nothing left of the sun. ¡¯He must be incredibly powerful to prevent lava with water, it must be a water spell above even GRAND level. How is that even possible, I thought the lava mage I saw was strong. He also shut down the sun with a blizzard and ice, that is unbelievable. These people make the mage I fought look like a child compared to monsters, and he beat me without putting forth much effort. At my current level, even with my skills, I would die to these people if I got involved.¡¯ Gregory quickly used his blink, getting back to one of the islands he had discovered. He couldn¡¯t afford to get involved in that fight, and he wanted to be at least mostly safe. ¡¯I can¡¯t even hope to stand up against these people, and I am supposed to be a powerful sage. I need to train, but I need to get to London first. I need to be able to learn some of this magic, and definitely grow stronger around other mages. They will think I am weak, especially if I can¡¯t even fight a person a tenth as strong as those people.¡¯ Yes, Gregory is vastly outperformed by these people, and will be for quite some time. Be prepared for more than doubling the story before he comes even close to these people. No Chapters Easter Weekend Due to travel and limited computer use, I will not be putting out a chapter this weekend, but I will have an extra large chapter (and perhaps another usual size) out on Monday. I apologize for this inconvenience, but please know that Gregory IS going to make good use of his skills in this next chapter to grow stronger. The Legendary Gamer - Chapter 15 (London) ¡¯I need stronger magic to be able to stand up to those guys. My Ice Mountain Funeral is strong, and can be used a few times now, but it is only one spell. I need a few spells of that level at least. The spells those two were using seemed to be even stronger than my Ice Mountain Funeral though. I need to find something as strong as the blizzard that the ice mage used if I want to have a chance at survival. I wonder if magic is stronger than this in modern Europe, I wouldn¡¯t doubt it though. My father probably wanted to keep me away from this, I don¡¯t think anybody in America could really stand up to him. Definitely true if that lava mage I fought was any indication as to the average strength in America.¡¯ Gregory tried to recall what he was seeing with his mystic sight when both mages used their attacks. The mana they were channeling was immense, probably the limit of what Gregory could even use right now. He recalled how the sun was made by compressing the flames instead of just letting them rage out of control. They were compressed to the point that the heat buildup was immense, that just being in the immediate area would be able to kill. There was also a wall of heat in front of him, protecting him from the heat of the spell. It seemed a wall of some kind of insulator was needed. Whether that be heat or intense cold was probably up to the user¡¯s magics. The blizzard on the other hand was on the opposite extreme, funneling out extreme cold and turning the water molecules into ice crystals. The weather was so extreme that it actually froze the fire when placed around it. While the fire spell was something he may be able to do right now, the ice spell was definitely out of his league. Entering his protected space, Gregory decided to try learning the fire spell that seemed like a small sun. Lava spells had more destructive power, but this fire spell was something else entirely. The heat given off was something only a fire spell could achieve, and what seemed to be a GRAND tier fire spell. A counter to his Ice Mountain Funeral for sure, the melting water would probably just barely quench the flames. These spells just showed how vastly inferior Gregory was compared to truly strong people. Beginning to compress the fire, piling heat upon heat, Gregory stockpiled the mana, feeling a good drain coming upon his reserves before the heat flared up to unimaginable proportions. Gregory quickly put up the wall of heat between the small sun and himself, trying to prevent it from consuming him. After almost an hour, the spell died down, and Gregory was drenched in sweat. The spell took huge amounts of mana, and lasted a long time. Gregory delved deep into his being, trying to reach the dragon inside him. ¡¯Are there any elements you can teach me that I don¡¯t already know? I was nearly killed back there, and I need your help to make it out of this. Sophos, you are the only one I can rely on right now. Without you I¡¯d be truly lost and dead in this world. With your help, I may be able to survive, but I need your help to grow stronger.¡¯ ¡¯I can teach you one element you do not know right now, I learned the element of lightning in my time. I can impart this to you, and I think you will be able to learn it fairly easily. I can see in your past that you had quite some trouble with space magic, which makes sense considering you learned time magic first. In fact, it is surprising you managed space magic at all after learning time magic. Seeing your unique ability though, I am not surprised that you have more potential than any human being I have met previously. However, many of the strongest people right now are strong because of the power handed down to them. Something you may not know, is that families can hand down power. The people you just saw fighting were fighting over inherited powers. That is the biggest problem with inherited powers, they can be stolen. Some of the strongest have been alive for centuries, having inherited time magic and stolen countless more types of magic. One thing though, you are the only being I have ever seen that has not needed to choose between spatial and temporal magics. I know I did mention that it was surprising, but it was so surprising because I thought it was impossible before you. There are a few things that families hand down though. I can see what you have seen, and can see that your family are not just sages, but legendary great sages. I have only ever seen one once, and they had countless generations of inherited power built up inside them. For you to have this, I imagine that whoever started your family had this power from the start. Your mother¡¯s family is also a very powerful family, having been around for generations. Their power though is one that does not suit fighting, which is why your father got very lucky in marrying her. If you had been born to anybody else, you wouldn¡¯t have been this powerful regardless of your unique class. If I had to guess, your father¡¯s unique class would have been luck related. Now, I can give you my knowledge of lightning magic, but you will need to train. My lightning spells are all of ranks higher than what you could use until you get to intermediate lightning capacity. People normally start at the INTERMEDIATE tier of skill, at least compared to what you have. Although, without inheritance, they cannot grow from there. The person with the ICE magic had their skill at ADVANCED. It means you actually could learn that skill. You may have noticed that one of your classes is a LEGENDARY GREAT SAGE, that means you can perform spells that are of the legendary tier. At least in your vocabulary. Normally those are considered ultimate spells, and only the greatest sages can learn them. Your ability to grow naturally, gaining levels like you do, is very powerful.¡¯ Sophos began to focus, sharing his knowledge and skill with lightning magic. Gregory¡¯s body was absorbing it, gaining the skills like they were his own. He was not gaining the same proficiency as Sophos though, as those were something that could only be passed down by inheritance. Still, Gregory had just gained a substantial boost in power thanks to Sophos. Including the fire spell he just learned, there were five spells and a proficiency Sophos had given Gregory.

Gregory saw all these new skills, and realized that he needed more mana to even be able to perform the last of them. ¡¯I bet it is the same case with that blizzard I saw. It probably requires that same obscene amount of mana as the chaos lightning. If that is true, then I won¡¯t be able to use it until I get INT up to the point where I actually have 4500 mana. The really insane part would be the original cost of 9000, I¡¯d not be able to use it until my intelligence stat reached 450. Even as is, I will need 225 INT just to be able to cast it.¡¯ Exiting his protected space, Gregory used blink to travel back to Great Britain. He headed immediately for London, and this time made it without hassle. He would search around for a job he could perform for the people. He knew of a few that would be good for him, armor and weaponsmithing being his main thoughts. They would conceal his true magical skill, and also allow him to refine his skills with making armor and weapons. This would give him an advantage when he wanted to make himself a good suit of armor. Looking around, he saw that magic was almost everywhere. Although, hardly anybody seemed to notice it. The normal people attributed almost all of the strange things to bad luck, instead of blaming magic. The entire world has always been ignorant of magic, at least true magic. Seeing the magic here, Gregory knew that the witch hunts would have been faked. Either that or they had some very powerful mages on their side of the fight. Gregory had walked around the entire city of London, trying to determine what his best spot would be for a job here. There was only the one blacksmith in the entire town, but Gregory knew that his own skills were superior. There were a few things he needed to do in order to set up a blacksmith though, Gregory would need a large place for work and a forge. He knew how to make his own forge, but he would need time and resources for a good one. What Gregory did then was used his protected space to make a suit of armor, made of high quality steel and using a style that would not be popularized for another almost four hundred years. While making this armor, his armorsmithing level went up by 18 levels to reach 97. The quality of this armor was very great, and turned out to be a unique armor as well. Having been made by Gregory, this armor took on the quality of resisting mana. For Gregory it was by double his current resistance, with a minimum of a 10% resistance. He put this armor on a stand, and then left his protected space to head to the castle. He wanted to showcase it to the king in order to get a good sum from it. While this suit would be his personal suit, he would be willing to make as many more as the king requested. ¡±This suit of armor is of the highest quality, offering almost full protection from nearly any attack. In addition to the visible plate, there is chain armor underneath and armored straps to keep everything in place. Needless to say, anybody wearing this armor would be almost unstoppable in a sword fight until they were completely exhausted. They are also made of steel instead of iron, meaning that their strength is much higher for the weight. If there was anything I could think to tell you as a disadvantage, it would be that they are much heavier than the conventional chain armors. What you gain in protection though more than makes up for it. So, will you buy any?¡± Gregory had set this armor up as nearly indestructible, which in these times it was. No arrow or sword could damage it, at least not significantly. He also placed a higher value on being able to fight with a sword in this armor, which would be because they¡¯d take no damage. He had seen the king look at the armor with interest, and then motion somebody over. Whispering to that man, the king continued to look with extreme interest at the armor. ¡±I will buy armor off of you, and I will be wanting 15 suits of the same armor as is before me. I assume the one here is yours, so I will allow you to get measurements for the other 15 suits. The first will be mine, and the other 14 are for my 14 best knights. I am hoping that 300 pounds will be enough for the armors I am requesting.¡± Gregory smiled at the offer, knowing from what he had heard of history that it was a large sum for this period in time. The king probably figured that he would be able to make much more from raids though, since his best knights would be nearly invincible. While this may change history slightly, Gregory knew that the magic of this era would still correct things if they were to go sideways. Not to mention, his luck was very high, and it was unlikely that things would permanently change for the worse unless he did something to intentionally change them. Going up to the king, Gregory began taking measurements with a piece of string. Of course, he was also armed with his near perfect memory. After finishing taking the measurements, Gregory took the money and left to set up a shop. The location he decided on was somewhat isolated, and had a very large room that could be used for all of his forging needs. With the money, he was able to buy the location as well as have a state of the art forge built. The forge he had built was almost as good as the one in his protected space, aside from being made of slightly lower quality materials. It would likely produce the same quality of armor given the same amount of time and effort. He then bought metal with the remainder of the money, which was a bit short on the materials he needed, but was more than enough considering he still had a good stockpile in his inventory. It took him three days of straight forging to finish the kings armor, only half the time spent on his own suit. His level also only went up by one though, and he had even gotten a start on the other suits of chain armor. Once he gave the suit to the king, Gregory was allowed to get measurements of the knights. They had all just arrived, and their suits of armor would be going with them when they left. These knights were the feudal lords that the king trusted most, and all likely paid the king for their armor as well. As he left the castle, having finished taking the measurements, Gregory thought about what his skill would be like after reaching advanced tier. It would likely reduce the time he needs to spend on armorcrafting, and increase his chance of making unique items. It would also probably make it easier for him to craft armors of better metals. As he began working, he spent the utmost time and effort on each of the armors, all of them turning out to be unique crafts. Gregory wanted advanced badly, and he needed to make sure he got it. A month later, Gregory finished the last suit of armor, and his armorcrafting had just reached advanced, but level 37 due to the uniqueness of the quality the armor had. The unique qualities on the armor varied, ranging from magic resistance to heightened durability. The last one he built though was extremely special, it had a lightening quality on it. This made the entire suit of armor almost weightless while worn, which was so unique it had given Gregory the bonus levels upon completion. Giving all these armors to their respective knights, Gregory received double the originally agreed upon amount after they realized that their armors were of greater quality than they previously expected. With this extra money, Gregory was able to entirely restore his stock of steel. He also began to overstock metal, and began forging weapons and shields. Since these two items were not made to fit, Gregory knew that he could still charge top coin for them if they were of high enough quality. In addition to that, anybody could use them, they would not be too large or small depending on the person. I did a bit of research on this chapter, so most of the historical information is at least somewhat accurate. I know it isn''t as long as expected, but the research did take quite a bit of time as well. Hope you all enjoy it. Chapter 16 (Encounter) I know it has been a very long time since I have written anything, but I''d like to thank all of you for reading what I have written until now, and hope you keep on enjoying the story. _________________________________________________ Gregory had to keep on working his way up in this world, and the only way to do that would be to keep training. He traveled out of main city London, and started moving about the country. He was trying to find a dungeon that he could enter, as that would be the easiest and fastest way for him to grow stronger. Hours had passed, to the point that it was almost to a time where he would need to head back, it was then that he found a dungeon entrance and was instantly transported inside. Excellent, a chance to test out my new skills; especially the new lightning skills I have acquired. Moving through the dungeon, he ran into a variety of monsters, all of them seeming to be impossible. He met orcs, elves, goblins, lesser demons, as well as vampires and werewolves. Despite normally being enemies, the vampires and werewolves always attacked him together, and were fiercely strong up close. The orcs were easy to pick off with magic, as their armor and abilities all leaned toward physical protection and combat. Elves were on the other end of the spectrum, almost unstoppable with ranged attacks, but extremely vulnerable to those faster than them. Goblins and lesser demons were on the same level of power, though with different specialties. Goblins were more physically oriented with average magical abilities, while the lesser demons were more magically oriented with average physical abilities. They also always attacked in swarms instead of just one on one. He was constantly using his spinning mana lance, growing the level of that skill. The levels he grew in "character" level were also huge, since all the enemies in this dungeon were of a higher level due to the people in the area. The lowest level he faced were the goblins and lesser demons at 49-53, then the vampires at 73-81, and everything else with average levels of 94-98. It was only due to his high INT and WIS that he was not already dead in here. After passing level 50, Gregory gained a very powerful new skill, "Legendary Gift of the Gamer." It gave a description saying that "If you are legendary, than you must be better than a normal gamer, right? +10 Status Points/Level." "New Status - CHA. CHA governs your ability to talk to others and persuade them. Also slightly governs appearance. New Status - SPD. SPD governs how quickly you can run. Has nothing to do with physical reflexes." This new skill and attribute made him much stronger, on top of doubling the status points he had gained and kept until then. Thanks to his conservative nature, that was all of them. It brought him to a massive 500 status points upon reaching level 50. Still though, with the new status attributes he had, it was less valuable than if it had been earlier. His CHA was at a 93, probably heavily governed by his appearances and luck in speech. His SPD was at 45, making him run a little faster than previously. Still, DEX had risen to 42 during training, meaning his reflexes and ability to see attacks coming had risen. AGI had gotten to 54, due to all the running he was doing in here. STR, END, and VIT also went up while hand-fighting. STR going up one, END going up 5, and VIT going up 10. His new status window impressed him, though for a level 50, it seemed relatively average had he spent all his status points. However, Gregory had not even tapped into these points yet. He began pondering how best to allocate these points. END increased his physical durability and how quickly his stamina regenerated. Due to skills, WIS determined his resistance to magic and how quickly his mana regenerated. INT and STR affected his magical and physical abilities. LUK, VIT, SPD, and DEX all seemed to be good ways to increase his overall survivability. CHA was mostly useless, since it was a skill that most people probably had at a very low level and his luck helped with anyways. AGI was useful, giving stamina and acrobatic ability. However, there was also the matter of what would be most easily trained. INT, WIS, and LUK were all too high to train in the normal ways, and would only be gained through rewards for quests or specific actions. That made these three the obvious choices for his status points, but the question on how to allocate them was still there. 250 to WIS would likely give him another new WIS ability. The remaining 250 could be used to bring LUK to 700, INT to 250, and still have some left to keep for a rainy day. Tapping the values in his status allowed him to change the values there. Making the changes he wanted, Gregory looked at his updated status window.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Checking his skills, Gregory saw two new ones. One for STR, and one from WIS. The skill for getting STR to 50 gave him further increased strength, allowing him to lift even more than his stats would indicate. The skill for wisdom was a bit more complex, giving him increased skill growth based upon his current WIS. It would allow him to grow skills 50% faster than currently, which would be a significant boost, and could even make the prospect of 1000 WIS more appealing aside from the near immunity to magic and the side effects thereof. Gregory gave a small smile, he would easily be able to overpower most magical beings now, especially those that were found in a regular dungeon. Even the elves had magical stats barely matching his overall magical stats right now. Continuing to walk through the dungeon led him to a large empty room. It gave him a boss notification before smoke filled the area. Still though, Gregory felt unafraid of the atmosphere. It was a magically generated smoke, meaning he couldn''t see, but using his wind magic blew all of it away, and since he could now regenerate all of his mana in just two minutes, there was no reason to worry about lack of it. The monster appearing before him though made Gregory a bit nervous. Using his Spinning Mana Lance, Gregory now had 100 of these lances come forth with just the one cast. He had gotten it to level MAX, which decreased mana usage to just 50, and the number of lances to the 100. He had also raised magic mastery to expert level, which allowed the power to grow by that much more. With his Mystic Sight, he was able to see that the beast took some damage, but not enough. He quickly checked to see what it was. Turns out the new and improved level was useful, he was able to see that this monster was level 120, and was incredibly physically skilled. In fact, it was also magically skilled and only took very slight damage from the spinning mana lances he had cast at it. He casted ICE MOUNTAIN FUNERAL, freezing the monster. It looked like a troll, but had the name CHIMERA, which meant that it was a combination of multiple monsters. Just then, a woman, at least as old as his real age appeared in this boss room. She commanded the earth element, along with the element of water. She opened a huge hole in the ground, one that went deep down into the earth. It was a fairly simple spell, but incredibly powerful and high level. Just then, knowledge flooded him, the knowledge that he had met his future wife. He was gaping, how did the system know he would marry her, had he married her in this time, and then had a child with her? Just then, he knew what it was preventing him from returning home. His father told him that their family had started as a lone orphan very near this time. He was his own ancestor, as odd as it sounded, but by at least 50 generations. This is why he had felt as if he had to stay in this time, and why it wouldn''t let him return. The future that was available to him was still possible, but he wouldn''t be able to return to his own timeline until their child had been born. The woman he saw was beautiful, in a very innocent way. Her face was attractive, thin, but not even close to an anorexic look. Her entire body was thin, but she had the right curves. Her hips were a little rounded, and she had a bit of a chest. It wasn''t obscenely big, but it was bigger than average. In Gregory''s eyes, there was no more attractive woman. When she looked at him, she felt that he was incredibly powerful, but was intrigued by how he looked. He was incredibly attractive to her, being thinner than most of this day and age, and the one man she had met who was this powerful at a younger age. Just then, the dungeon crumbled around them, Gregory received the items from the chimera, but ignored them. He was too entranced by this woman he just met. Chapter 17 (A Member of the Party) Gregory knew what he needed to do to get back to his time now, but he also now found out that he was the ancestor to his family. His being a Legendary Great Sage started this Legendary Great Sage lineage. It also started the ice magic in his family, which means that his own existence, the entire existence of his family after this point, is a temporal paradox. He shouldn¡¯t be able to exist without a beginning, but he is meant to become his own beginning. It can be confusing, but it is these that temporal magic allows the user to see. It means that it wasn¡¯t only the fact that he hadn¡¯t fulfilled his role in being the only person to use both temporal and spatial magics, but also that he couldn¡¯t be born that was preventing him from returning. Continuing to look in her direction, Gregory saw two more people. One a knight, and the other an assassin. Both had very high, and mostly similar physical stats. These two showed only the original six stats that Gregory showed. STR, VIT, AGI, INT, WIS, and LUK. The knight and assassin had average INT and WIS, but both of their STR values were ridiculous. They reached 500 STR, enough to crumble stone with a single light punch. The knight had a VIT of 500 and an AGI of 250, while the Assassin had an AGI of 500 and a VIT of 250. Their strengths were incredible, and physical abilities probably unrivaled. These two were probably hunting with this woman, and assisting her in beating this dungeon. Especially true if they had all gotten stuck in the dungeon. Not everybody it seemed was as lucky as he was to have been given such mana blessings from the beginning of their abilities. Looking at the woman and the two men near her, Gregory saw that their levels were all nearly 100. Twice his level, but below him in overall stats, even considering they were merged. The woman¡¯s name was Elizabeth, while the two men had the names of George and Charles. Elizabeth had 450 in both INT and WIS, with 200 in AGI and VIT. She was definitely the most skilled overall of the three, and the most likely to be able to handle this dungeon alone. Checking their ages, George and Charles were 27 and 39 respectively; Elizabeth was only 19, the same as Gregory. It was confirmation, as if saying that he was meant to be with this woman forever. It would even work out for them to be together, as Gregory¡¯s temporal magic could shield her from aging as well if she were to love him as he loves her. Gregory wondered how normal people leveled up now, especially considering that most natural mages shouldn¡¯t be able to get physical stats that high. There must be something she was doing as part of her training that raised them, but what could it have been? They had also spotted Gregory, and felt the power rolling off of him. Using his reveal, he found that he could even see their skill lists, which showed that none of these people had a natural way to generate mana aside from sleep or meditation. It also revealed to him, that the most dangerous ones to him would be George and Charles, as both could quickly close that gap between them and turn him into a pincushion. Even his armor would do very little to protect against swings from weapons with that much strength behind them. It was at this moment that the three began talking amongst themselves, and then spoke up with a proposition for Gregory. How about you join us in hunting dungeons? To have been able to clear out the entire thing aside from the dungeon lord alone, you must be very strong. We¡¯d love to have somebody like you to assist us in scourging the land of these dungeons so that those who are weaker do not get trapped and killed in placed like those. It was Charles that spoke, the oldest of them, and also the knight. Gregory was not sure what to do. He had purchased the very small plot of land that his store was on, and he could always travel back in time to get back to his store whenever he desired. Very well, I will accept, but I want to know what kind of abilities you all need in your group right now. He knew that what they needed was a healer, but one that would not easily die and could defend themselves. One of the elves he had killed had a party heal skill, but it would be one that he would need to get them into a party with him to use. Most people probably formed parties through oral or magical pacts, but his system allowed him to form parties with others. There would be no way to keep secret what his abilities were if it came to that. The only thing Gregory could do, would be to use the healing ability that a different elf had dropped to let him heal one of them at a time. We need a healer, but considering you cleared the dungeon by yourself, I doubt you are one. You¡¯d be wrong, I am actually a quite skilled healer, and even have a group healing spell. They all nearly gawked when he said this, as the ability to heal a group of people was one that was extremely rare, and only the most powerful healers possessed. This was something unbeknownst to Gregory, but made his value go way up in their eyes. Very good, then you will be a big help to all of us. This was our last raid for now, we meet up once every seven days in London outside the gate, and remain for three days hunting. You should return to where you come from and be prepared to assist us then. It is also then that we will require a demonstration of your skills in healing. Gregory left at this, walking into the woods a little way before using blink to return to his shop. He didn¡¯t want to let them know what exactly he was capable of, especially since these abilities were ones that shouldn¡¯t normally be commonly known. Even the group healing spells weren¡¯t commonly known apparently, which meant that he would already be in possession of less known magic. Using both skill books, Gregory was able to learn both of the healing spells inside. It seemed they went off of his magic mastery passive, but that their power was influenced by WIS, not INT like most active spells. The costs were 250 and 750, The healing amounts were the same for individual, but the second did work for everybody in the party and had the same cast time. Since there were four of them total, it meant that it would not only be more mana effective, but also faster and put them in less risk or danger. The real question, is how to play off the party menu. They are bound to ask questions about it. Then what happens if they level up in my party? Will they be able to gain levels like I do? If that is the case, I will have to play it off as some very high level magic ability, one that is beyond even Elizabeth¡¯s skill or knowledge. Checking his inventory though, Gregory was amazed at the total loot gained from the monsters he killed in that dungeon. Even the dungeon lord gave him the drops, though directly to his inventory since they were unobtainable otherwise. The items included a passive regeneration ability skill book, a book about how to bend mana to naturally raise protection against it, and a large amount of a metal called slivgnor. The description said that it could only ever be shaped once, and only through magical energy. Once the shape had solidified, it said that it would hold resilient to any more forging. The description also gave information that it was the strongest magical metal. His 700 luck, and direct 70% chance to get the best drop available, turned the .0001% chance of getting this metal into a 70.0001% chance of getting this metal as a drop. Even with his high luck, a luck equaling 700, the chance was .0001%. The next highest luck in the world was only at 130 in this time, and that would have an only .000000001% chance of finding this metal from the strongest monster able to drop it. This metal was meant to be impossible to find, and he had gotten more of it than was even thought possible. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Once nightfall came around, Gregory used blink to return to the dungeon he had previously visited. He entered the dungeon, and found that it had been refilled with monsters. They were the same types of monsters, a little higher leveled, with the exception that the elves were replaced with greater elves. The descriptions stated that they were the direct ambassador¡¯s of the greatest high elves. This basically cemented that the tiers of elves in this world were the regular elves, greater elves, and high elves. Considering the greater elves had better stats overall than the regular elves, high elves were probably much stronger yet. Getting back up to the room of the dungeon lord had gotten him another 22 levels, and since he had decided to use hand-to-hand or sword combat as much as possible, he had also gained a substantial number of points in DEX, AGI, STR, and END. He was hardly hit, meaning his VIT had only gone up another three points, and his SPD had only risen two points. DEX and END had raised nine points though, while AGI and STR had raised seven points. His skill proficiencies for martial arts and sword mastery had risen to 59 and 57 respectively, making it much easier to fight this way, the added stats just made it that much easier to fight this way. Due to skills levels and the armor he had made previously, he was able to beat all the monsters but the werewolves and orcs with physical attacks. The way he was now, he couldn¡¯t even imagine being able to take down the orcs or werewolves. Their physical stats were right around the same as George and Charles¡¯ stats. This meant that he would be completely powerless against them without raising his stats just as much. There were also some new skills gained for the skills that had reached above 50. His DEX allowed him to react even faster to incoming attacks, and gave him a natural stamina regeneration that was dependent on DEX, but 2% for every 10 DEX. Checking AGI, he saw that the ability was saying that it doubled his total stamina. Giving him a very good amount of fighting potential and the ability to run for very extended periods of time. Seeing as VIT was only 10 away from a passive, Gregory was very tempted to spend them there, but knew that his magic was strong enough to keep much physical damage from getting to him. [i]Still though, can''t stay weak forever, I will need to raise it before too long. If I don''t, I will be way too easy to kill should I ever end up getting too close in a fight. I need to think of a way to raise my VIT without doing much. Perhaps making a ring that will cause me some damage every minute. That way I could get VIT up, at least until a point that I get the passive from it. Copperhead''s Respite may be a good way to do it, It will do just a little bit of damage, but should be enough to raise my VIT for now. Once it is up a bit, then I will be able to probably double my current health pool. His healing spells also made it possible to fight this way, which is how he was able to win now. His party heal had reached level 51, which seemed high, but he knew that there would be a next level of it that would grant a much larger increase to the healing amount. Gregory then wondered if it would be possible to create a dungeon in his protected space, perhaps mirroring the strongest dungeon he had seen and defeated. If that were the case, it would allow him to train indefinitely long against this dungeon, at least until such time as he weren¡¯t able to gain a level for completing it once. This time, Gregory needed to beat the dungeon lord solo, and he knew just how to do it. He was going to encase it in ice again, but shatter it with the spinning mana lance. Moving forward he saw the same monster, but he didn¡¯t know that the drops had changed. He continued to get skills books from the elves, but different ones this time as they were greater elves. He even managed to find a book on earth magic, as well as some that worked on controlling plants and nature. So, defeating the dungeon lord, the same monster as before, awarded him entirely different gains. He was able to go up a full five levels, reaching level 77 because of it. However, the drop was definitely worse. It only gave a CHIMERA CORPSE as the reward. It was something he would need to dissect to see if maybe there was something he could learn from it. He brought it into his protected space through touch, and then left so that he could leave the dungeon. He once again blinked back to London, and got some sleep there as a way to create a refresh point in the case that he would nearly die. Still though, he didn¡¯t know what exactly would happen should he actually ¡°die¡±, as he had never reached total death, only a near death state to which he was returned to his refresh point before anything he did after resting last. Waking up from the rest only a couple hours after falling asleep, Gregory blinked back to the dungeon entrance, hoping he would get a skill this time to allow him to create a dungeon in his protected space.

Chapter 18 (Preparing for the First Party Dungeon) Gregory started spending his time between forging during the day, and going to the dungeon at night. After the third night, he had finally gained a modification for his protected space. He was now able to open the strongest dungeon he had met inside of his protected space, with the added bonus of being able to get out at any time as long as enemies were not nearby. This new ability allowed him to start focusing on training his VIT and END over just his rushing through the dungeon to get back at a reasonable time. His AGI had been growing far slower since it reached past 60, barely reaching 65 with the opponents he was currently facing. His STR had reached 61, but it had also started requiring far more of a specific action to raise it. The one good thing, is that he had managed to raise his SPD and DEX to 57 and 63 respectively by running instead of blinking there and back at night along with the other actions done in the dungeon. His speed had gained a new skill for him as well, for having passed 50 it allowed him to run faster for the stat value just as strength had worked. By having made the ring with the copperhead¡¯s respite, Gregory had also managed to raise his VIT to 57, bumping his health up substantially due to the double health gain per point in VIT. While he kept wearing the ring, the bonus it gave toward raising VIT was minimal after passing 55. END and his party healing were also raised because of the ring. END had reached 49 before Gregory¡¯s VIT reached 50 and then doubled his health and also the amount of health he got a second. He was only barely able to get 50 END before his stats would no longer challenge his END to raise it anymore with the copperhead¡¯s respite ring. His regen rate on health was at 5%, meaning that he gained 57 health back a minute. In fact, the ring stopped dealing any real damage at all once reaching 50 END. It had been doing 50 damage a minute previously, which was serious for Gregory, but most people he found out were far healthier than him when it came to HP. Almost everybody had the naturally 1 to 20 VIT/HP ratio, as well as a ratio that raised it further for levels gained. He seemed to be behind in that regard, only gaining it through stats meant that he would be weaker than other people his level as far as health went. However, party healing had made it all the way to level 95 through all the healing due to the damage being done by the ring alone before 50 END. Needing to heal in the dungeon was just icing and brought it all the way to ADVANCED PARTY HEAL. This skill had two benefits to Gregory, the first being that it healed double of Party Heal¡¯s level 100 version at level 1, and the second that it worked on recognized allies in a radius around the user. While the second benefit meant it could work on more people, it also meant he could hide his unique skills from all of them, and just heal Charles, George, and Elizabeth as they needed it. However, the most important thing now though, was that he was able to enter dungeons inside of his own protected space, a space that existed outside of time. It meant that he could run through it infinitely until he could no longer get anything beneficial from the dungeon. This could be anything beneficial to him from drops to skill and level growth. Spending a full month in his protected space on just the dungeon after that point had Gregory reaching a level of 129, and also not growing levels until at least two runs through the dungeon. Still though, he had managed to reach his physical skills to higher levels, his AGI reaching 82, DEX reaching 84, SPD being at 79, STR getting up to 79 as well, END making it up to 80, and VIT ending up at 85. He also decided to spend most of the now 814 stat points to boost his combat proficiency. He used 500 of those points on WIS, giving him a full 100% boost to skill growth because of the passive he got at level 500, a total resistance to mana-based attacks, and the ability to regenerate 100% of his mana ever minute. Still though, the people he saw that were obscenely strong were casting multiple spells consuming his maximum mana ever minute, meaning that their actual mana pools were beyond Gregory¡¯s current imagination. For reaching 1000 WIS, Gregory also gained a new passive skill that would prevent any debuff spells from affecting him due to the influence of his WIS on controlling his body. On top of this, there was a system message that popped up upon reaching this WIS value.
MAXIMUM WIS STAT REACHED. FOR BEING THE FIRST IN HISTORY TO REACH MAX WIS, PERK ¡°THE WISE ONE¡± HAS BEEN ADDED. PERK ¡°THE WISE ONE¡± GRANTS FULL KNOWLEDGE OF ALL CURRENT ABILITES, AND THE ABILITY TO TEACH OTHERS KNOWN NON-UNIQUE SKILLS.¡±
It was amazing, but there was still an error when it came to how people could possibly perform so many high-tier spells right after the other. There had to be ways to raise mana aside form INT, but they would be ancient ways, since even Elizabeth had average mana for her INT. The other possibility is that their spells system allowed them to cast their spells for far less than Gregory was due to how powerful his skills were in the long run. Despite probably being the most powerful magical being right now, he was mostly likely using more mana per spell cast because of how his gamer system controlled the ability to cast spells. Usually MP is just a term for Mana Points or Magic Points, but what if there were multiple forms of energy used to cast spells? What if there is raw mana or magical energy, but then there is also nature energy, transcendent energy, and a physical energy. Since his Mana is in one great big combined pool, it may be possible that generic magical energy is usable by all subforms, but then spells are only usable inside that subform. In that scenario, it would be possible that Elizabeth was charge far less since she doesn¡¯t need to specify the type of mana that is being used to for the spell, her body can only control the one type of form. If that were the case, she¡¯d likely be able to far better control how much energy is spent, regardless of whether there is such a thing as skill level for normal people. It took but a moment to decide where to place 300 of the remaining 314 stat points, raising LUK to 1000 was probably far less of a decision than raising WIS to 1000 once he had obtained the perk of ¡°THE WISE ONE.¡± Upon placing and accepting the stat point placement, Gregory was gifted one last LUK skill. It was another passive, ¡°I SHOULD BE THERE¡± which gave Gregory a passive evasion chance equal to a rate of 1/40 of his LUK stat. He also got another system message for luck similar to his message for WIS, but with a perk called ¡°ULTIMATE LUCK.¡± This perk also gave two abilities related to luck. The first was that his luck related skills doubled in power, or effect based upon the ability. The second ability was something crazy, but technically still made sense. It allowed him to use his luck to on another person in addition to himself. If he would focus on somebody, that person would be ¡°cloaked¡± in his luck while the focus was maintained. Amazing, two new skills and two very powerful perks. Makes me wonder which is more powerful. The perks and skills are both amazing, but those perks just seem to really pop in power compared to the skills. Then again though, that is to be expected from abilities that are so unique. Even if they weren¡¯t unique, they are perks, which is something that even ¡°THE WISE ONE¡± can¡¯t teach to others. The remaining 14 stat points were left, being saved for when he had a clear goal in mind on how to use them. While nothing he was doing right now could really raise his stats, there was likely something else that could raise his physical stats that involved a harder dungeon or more impossible workout. The only problem would be how to do a more impossible workout when his DEX allowed him to regenerate past the energy spent to move and perform actions. The only way he could think of would be to learn physical skills that would require a combination of mana and stamina, or find physical skills that would directly require stamina to perform. It would have to be something that wears him out in order to gain experience from it, that is something he learned from leveling up so far. If it isn¡¯t challenging, he cannot make gains off of it. This was why he was never growing passively stronger in magic, the enemies he faced couldn¡¯t challenge his magical talents. DEX was something that could still be trained through combat, but at a slower gain than if it was combat and overuse of stamina. AGI could still be raised through acrobatics, but again at a slower pace than if he was actually losing stamina. Now done with training and using his newly obtained stat points again, but unable to really level up without going through the dungeon multiple times now, Gregory left his protected space. His powers were definitely incredibly strong now, and even his body wasn¡¯t nearly as weak as it was before. Though he was technically weaker overall than the other people that would form the dungeon hunting party, he was much stronger in a one-on-one fight than almost any magic user he would encounter. Not because he could do so much damage to them, but because they could do no real damage to him with the 100% resistance to magic damage. Of course, many of the people he met did seem to have higher physical stats than he does, even those who were supposed to be magic users. Elizabeth, the girl who he had instantly fallen for, had physical stats that made his look weak still, on top of having magic that could easily trap Gregory for an eternity, since he found out that his teleportation and blink could not go through another person¡¯s magical energy. This made the teleportation and blink spells very hard to use against those who could control magic. If she were to use her magic to cause an earthquake and trap him in the crust, he could never escape for as long as any of her magic remained in that rock. Also, she could open it to the lava in the earth¡¯s core, which would deal him deadly damage and he¡¯d have no way to prevent it. Natural fire and heat aren¡¯t magic, and that means that he¡¯d have no resistance against them as far as protection goes. What he really needed now though, despite the fact that he was a mage, was a way to train his physical abilities. He would need to think of skills he could develop for increasing his physical abilities without needing to fight monsters that could kill him up-close. He knew that skills like a dodge would work to increase his DEX and AGI, possibly even double on both if it took enough stamina up per use, but that was quite unlikely given the fact that he had no moves yet that could really spend his stamina. It was also possible that he could start wearing heavier gear, that something heavier could cause his DEX and AGI to go up depending on how much he were wearing. Of course, that also meant he wouldn¡¯t increase his END or VIT as quickly since he would be taking less damage wearing full plate armor. The full plate armor he had originally made for himself, he started altering for George to use. He also started working on a suit of armor for Charles, since it was important to effectively protect his party. In that same line of thought, Gregory had been further working on his Tailoring and Enchanting skills. He had managed to reach level 5 advanced in tailoring, and intermediate 58 in enchanting. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Working the remaining day before leaving to go meet his new party once again, Gregory was at his forge, when a large man came in to purchase a suit of armor. Using reveal on him, Gregory saw his ridiculous stats. While his actual level was hidden, it was visible to him that he had a STR of 972, an AGI of 957, and a VIT of 963. A strength stat that could literally wipe out all his health in a single hit anywhere to his body, an AGI high enough to dodge virtually any attack that could be thrown at him, and a VIT so high that he was almost immortal. On top of this, his race was solely human, not even a combined race like he was now. This reminded him though, he had been ignoring Sophos for quite some time, and should try talking to him. Sophos, I know I¡¯ve been ignoring you for a while now. I¡¯d like to apologize and ask for your forgiveness. Only silence met these words, and then the man with ridiculous stats spoke up expecting to get the measurements on his body taken so that the armor could be made. What could this man even use armor for? His body is likely almost indestructible. Even my strongest attacks would likely do little to nothing in terms of damage to him. Gregory stepped over, taking the measurements of his body so that he could start working on the armor for this man. He wanted to do his best job, but not use the best materials available to him. If he used the best materials, it was quite possible that this man could kill whoever he wanted to without resistance. Upon getting his measurements taken, he paid up front for the armor, saying that he¡¯d be back in a week to collect it. The amount he paid was more than the king paid for three suits, but he also specified how he wanted it made, requiring rare gems in specific places. These would likely be used for after purchase enchanting. It was something Gregory doubted the man could do, but knew that he must have a connection that probably could enchant with much greater skill than he could. Still though, the man had left, and it was Gregory¡¯s last chance to try and learn some physical skills for close-up combat. As he was trying uselessly for hours, staying out of his protected space since he didn¡¯t feel like being away for days or weeks, Sophos finally spoke up, but with laughing. Hahaha, you seem to be struggling with gaining new physical skills. Did that man really frighten you so much? You are a dragon now, yet you reject it by hiding it. Yet you wonder why I am so distant from you right now? You have basically abandoned me, leaving me alone for over a month while you go around hunting monsters that are so far beneath you. Well, technically beneath you with my power. Do you even know how much I have helped you already? Even while you were hunting, I have been trying to speak to you. Now that you finally raised your wisdom, it seems you remembered me. Still though, you are definitely the most unique and curious human I have ever met. You still seem to care about me, despite leaving me alone and forgetting about me as soon as you learned those new skills. I do have a piece of advice for you though, if you want to learn some new physical skills, try to think of something that is done separately from a style. Judging from your knowledge and systems in place, skills would only be something that would be separate from a regular style or otherwise passive skill. If you want to learn a sword skill, why don¡¯t you try something in the dungeon, swinging your sword in a way that is more powerful but is less natural or slower to start. That would more likely be a skill. Anyways, I will communicate with your subconscious for a bit. It seems that once you raised your WIS, there are some parts of your mind that function far better than you realize and can hold a very intelligible conversation with me without you realizing it. That is more why I had ignored you at first than anything else. As the next day came, Gregory headed out to London¡¯s gate, carrying the two suits of armor. He was struggling only slightly, due to the weight the suits did possess. As he made it to the gate, he saw the other three already waiting for him. Still though, when they saw him carrying the two bags, they were somewhat shocked. Charles spoke up as soon as he saw Gregory, making a small wave above his head when he saw him. Looks like you found something, may I ask what it is? Made it actually, a couple suits of armor. One for you and one for George. Seems you are working above and beyond your required task. Still won¡¯t stop us from wanting to see your healing abilities. Although, depending on how good it is, we may need to have you make all the armor we need from now on. Elizabeth doesn¡¯t use armor, as you could probably guess. If you do want to make something for her though, she does use robes. After this raid is over, perhaps we can see what we can all do to help each other out. For now though, I want to see what kind of person you are before we place full trust in you. Once we get out of London a ways, I will want you to show us the healing skill, but the major public either doesn¡¯t know of the existence of magic, or hates it. We are an exception, and only because George and I need it to help slay many of the stronger monsters and dungeon lords. I know of some people who make the two of us combined look weak, and could totally destroy us without even trying. Gregory nodded when he heard this. He had just seen a man fitting the description of making them look weak combined. It wasn¡¯t pretty, and would even place Gregory in danger of death. They all began walking, Gregory wearing rather plain clothes, while Charles and George were wearing suits of mixed armor and Elizabeth was wearing a robe over rather elegant clothes with the label of ¡°Clothes of a Sage.¡± Getting to be about three miles from London, running after hitting a mile away, Charles looked to Gregory. A demonstration of your skills would be good now. We all have some damage from a raid we did without you just before getting to London. Why don¡¯t you heal us all and we will determine how strong your healing magic is. Closing his eyes, Gregory thought the words ADVANCED PARTY HEAL before his magic flooded out of him and covered all of them with extremely potent healing magic. It was enough to leave Charles, George, and Elizabeth gaping. It was at least twice as much power as they expected to see from anybody at around their level of strength and power. I hope that was enough of a demonstration, I really don¡¯t want to disappoint any of you with my lack of skill. His total honesty in regards to the unbelief in his skills led them to think he had been adventuring and hunting with an incredibly strong group previously. They all thought it would make sense as to why he was capable of handling such a monstrous dungeon almost alone before they made it to the dungeon lord¡¯s room. Elizabeth also started feeling some feelings toward Gregory at this point as well though. She felt as if he was somebody she could trust and wanted to spend time with. Charles knew only one thing from this. How about you take leadership of the group in this next dungeon? We could use somebody with your skills orchestrating the attacks, it has been said that the wise are best at healing magic. It would make sense for you then to lead us into battle. Alright, I will do my best. I can¡¯t guarantee being as strong a leader as you, but I will definitely do my best to meet your expectations. His modesty was very refreshing, something that they had not seen in anybody near their level of strength without being very specialized and weak in actual combat. Charles began walking toward where people had reported a dungeon entrance while getting into the armor that he had been given by Gregory. He also started speaking to Gregory about where they were going. We are heading to a location where people have gone missing or been found dead. These kinds of locations are where most dungeons lie. It seems many were just regular villagers, though some were supposedly hunters themselves. We should be careful in there ourselves, you will probably be a major assistance to us in there Gregory. The truth is, they wouldn¡¯t be trying this dungeon at all without Gregory. Groups without a healer were far weaker, and now that they had a healer that could restore about a quarter of each party members health, they were definitely ready to start conquering many of the harder dungeons out there. Chapter 19 (Growing a Relationship and the Herald Skill) Gregory kept following Charles and the rest of the party he had just joined. They definitely welcomed him, and they couldn¡¯t help but feel that they were hugely rewarded by accepting him as part of their group. They all realized his strength, and Elizabeth thought he was just incredibly attractive due to the characteristics his body possessed. There was the hair, which was totally different from many others his age being entirely white. It made him look much smarter, which she really liked about him. There was also his modesty, which many people, even their group, did not possess to Gregory¡¯s degree. She also loved how he was very generous, offering armor to people that he had barely met, which she could tell was definitely a very strong armor for a regular person to be making. Charles¡¯ seemed to resist magic, and George¡¯s was incredibly light and flexible despite being made mostly of metal. For her, he also gave a gift, though one in secret that he didn¡¯t want the others to see. It was a book, one that looked like it was about a way to naturally generate magical energy. Reading over it a little bit, it turned out that it would generate a quarter of her magical energy every minute. This was an incredibly rare and powerful ability, for him to have a book meant that he either bought it or wrote it. Sharing such a strong ability with others was unheard of, especially one this strong as most only know of one to make it a ten percent a minute. Of course, as she knew, none of these abilities work with another regeneration ability, which if he already has would be why he gave her the book. She also knew why he gave it to her in secret. This book dwarfs the value of the armor, even armor that strong. For Charles and George to be able to keep on using their combat skills as they had been with magical armor nonetheless, was very difficult for most people. This Gregory seemed to be undeniably strong and diversified in skills despite his age. When they finally reached the area where the dungeon was rumored to be, Charles recommended they split up since people always enter a dungeon in the same place and just yell for the rest when they feel the dungeon¡¯s pull. As they spread out, Gregory immediately saw an area that looked like a ¡°film¡± in the air. He could feel that it was spatial magic, and meant that it was likely where the entrance to the dungeon would be. Stepping forward, he could feel the pull and yelled out. ¡±Hey, it is over here. I found the dungeon entrance.¡± Entering inside, Gregory found that they followed very shortly after. After they were all inside the dungeon, Charles made a suggestion. ¡±Since you are the healer here Gregory, how about you try to lead the attack. Keep yourself mostly covered and safe. We had a similar setup when Elizabeth joined the team as well, we just want to make sure that we don¡¯t do anything to pull too far ahead of your location or leave you vulnerable.¡± Gregory decided to keep himself in the middle of their group, the warrior and assassin in front, and Elizabeth in the rear. Both he and Elizabeth had strong magic, but hers should actually be a bit stronger with her INT. On top of that, he could help take care of monsters in front of the group that the melee fighters couldn¡¯t handle. ¡±You probably already have this as a setup, but I think you and George should head up the group Charles. I will stay in the middle and support the front and hit any attackers that you cannot beat with physical weapons, while Elizabeth will stand in back and take care of anything trying to attack us from the side and rear. Ideally, when you see anything you know you can¡¯t beat with physical weapons, you should try to avoid it for Elizabeth to handle. I will also take care of anything I can with magic, but will make sure to keep healing a priority.¡± They all took their positions, and Gregory looked at everybody¡¯s levels again. It seemed that they had all done some solo training in their time off. Elizabeth had raised her VIT and AGI some, both being at 210. Charles and George had managed to raise their secondary physical stats to 230 and 225 respectively. They also all went up a level, which makes sense considering their stats had risen. Since he had the job of healer, he knew that they expected his combat to be lower than theirs, but they also knew that he was strong in combat to have gotten through a dungeon by himself. They weren¡¯t just going to baby him, but they wanted to keep him out of harm and focus on keeping his mana for healing when necessary. Moving into the dungeon now, he was giving orders on what to pass up for Elizabeth and what to attack. He made sure to keep the group centralized, moving as a cohesive unit and together. Doing this apparently was not expected of his CHA level, but his WIS and INT also did some to passively increase his effectiveness where CHA would do the same. The reason he could tell it was challenging his CHA is that there were passive gains popping up every now and again, raising it faster than he expected. Before long, they had made it to the dungeon lord. Getting here was apparently being done at a pace that the rest of the team had not expected, but Gregory thought it seemed about right considering his solo clear speed and that they were in a team that was working very cohesively. Gregory never let them fall below a half of their health, higher if it seemed that there were monsters around that could kill anybody in a single hit from their remaining health. At the dungeon lord, Gregory saw stats this time that seemed would make it very hard to beat it. The monster was a giant living gem, made from an indeterminable substance. Revealing the stats and status on the dungeon lord showed that it was definitely very strong, was resilient to generic magic, and was resistant to physical attacks from opponents with a low strength stat. Gregory immediately ordered Elizabeth to start launching her earth based attacks at it, while Charles and George should start swinging with their strongest attacks. Gregory meanwhile was launching ice spells at it, the intention being to freeze it. It took almost a half hour of fighting before it finally fell. Even with his full range of magic, Gregory doubted being able to defeat it alone. He also got his rewards auto-deposited to his inventory, which included a skill book for jewelry crafting in addition to a large sum of jewels. Another reward was a large amount of a crystalline thread, something that Gregory had never seen before, but seemed to be an incredibly strong tailoring material. When it did die, Gregory saw a notification for his CHA reaching 100. When this happened, there were two notification windows. One that notified of a new passive skill increasing the trust people put in him, with additional trust and belief from those who feel drawn to him at all. The second window was a perk, it was called ¡°THE HERALD,¡± which allowed him to change his own title as well as those of any other as long as he knew what the new title would do. The requirements for this perk were 200+ INT, and 100+ CHA. The reasons seemed to be needing to memorize the requirements of all titles, as well as knowing the title names and what they could do. Since he obtained this, he checked all the titles currently available to him. Dungeon Hunter was one of them, which was accessible to anybody that had completed a dungeon solo. The benefits were increased damage to any enemies in a dungeon, as well as increased damage resistance inside of a dungeon. When he got all the way to the rest of his team, they had set aside the remainder of the chest and placed it in a sack for Gregory. ¡±This is for you, you seem to be a very strong crafter, and we¡¯d all really like some stronger gear made up. The new armor you made us was really strong, so just make us some new weapons and shields. Anything left over you can keep for your own blacksmithing.¡± Gregory was amazed at this, they really seemed to place a good bit of trust in him about getting them new weapons and equipment. It wasn¡¯t just his actions either, it seemed that his new CHA skill was already working somewhat. Charles then spoke up again regarding the next dungeon they wanted to clear. ¡±Alright, there was just one other planned dungeon we wanted to go beat. If we could go over there right now, we could get it taken care of immediately and go to London for the rest of the time. It is at least a day away though, so will need to spend the night in an inn for the night once we get closer.¡± Gregory grabbed the sack and slung it over his shoulder. He would need to make a new bag for himself when he got back to London, perhaps enchant it with a spatial spell as a reason to why I can carry so much. It will also reduce weight since they will be expecting me to carry around everything I pick up. Heading out of the dungeon, they began walking toward the next dungeon. Gregory also checked everybody¡¯s levels and realized that they had all gone up between seventeen and twenty levels to between level 119 and 125. George was at level 119, Elizabeth at 121, and Charles at 125. Their power went up quite a bit with this dungeon, Gregory also went up by five levels, now at level 134, and having a total of 64 stat points to spend. It was at least an 18 hour walk, and it was already almost six at night, so they stayed at an inn tonight where they had dinner and could get an early start the next morning. They all stayed in their own separate rooms, eating dinner together before heading to sleep. They knew of an inn about fifteen hours away that was almost always empty, and would be a good place to rest until they were less fatigued. While walking, Gregory spent most of his time talking to Elizabeth, while Charles and George were investigating the items they grabbed from the dungeon. There were many pieces of jewelry that seemed to give them quite an enhancement, as well as some weapons they immediately swapped out their current weapons for. The new weapons they could tell were much stronger and were enchanted with magical elements. Gregory was helping teach Elizabeth how to naturally generate her magical energy, which actually seemed to be going very well. Eventually, a little before reaching the inn, Elizabeth understood how to naturally generate magical energy by pulling it in from outside. Gregory smiled and laughed along with her about this, and congratulated her on her ability to quickly understand this ability. This skill would be one that would drastically improve her combat ability, since she was heavily restricted by magical energy in any long and drawn out combat. The ability to naturally generate it would mean hugely increased ability to stay and help in fights. In fact, she was so ecstatic about this that she leaned in and gave Gregory a hug. Gregory was shocked and confused by this action for just a moment before giving her a hug back. Reaching the inn, Elizabeth had Gregory wait outside with her while Charles and George went inside to get their own rooms. ¡±I hope you didn¡¯t mind me hugging you back there, I was just so happy that you helped me and you were so close. I just feel so embarrassed about it, and wanted to let you know that I didn¡¯t mean anything by it.¡± She was only telling a half truth, she had started developing feelings for Gregory, just as Gregory had for her, but she was incredibly embarrassed about giving him a hug like that. ¡±I don¡¯t mind, I completely understand feeling that way. I always feel much happier and forget things when I am in a really good mood and happy about something.¡± Elizabeth blushed at this, amazed that Gregory took it as well as he did since many thought it was strange to show affection like this. ¡±Thank you so much, you have got to be one of the kindest people I know to feel this way though. Anyways, we should probably get our rooms right away.¡± Gregory walked slowly into the inn, and bought keys for a room after getting inside. Despite not needing sleep, he still got a room since he could always use it as a place to set up a spot to do some training for his skills. Before heading to dinner, Gregory wanted to check on something though. He pulled out the most recent skill book he had gotten, immediately advancing his jewelry crafting to advanced, and then also pulled out the Skill Advancement Text ¨C GRAND book that he had gotten what felt like ages ago back when he first started blacksmithing. This time, though, it turned out that it was usable. It gave him a notification that it would increase armorcrafting, weaponcrafting, jewelry crafting, and tailoring to GRAND despite their current ranks. It seemed that it would be an incredibly powerful book to read, bringing him past the expert and master levels despite not having done any training in them. It also seemed that GRAND would be the highest level, so he could make near perfect crafts and much stronger crafts when he does use the book. Without hesitation, he accepted consuming the book, and the knowledge and experience flooded his body and mind. It was as if he had been working on these crafts for countless years, and was exhausted for a second before reobtaining his composure. Finishing with the books, he headed down for dinner, not wanting to be late. He reached the room just in time, since everybody else was also just getting down. Charles and George opted out for the optimum combination of armor, something that Gregory expected no less of. One thing he didn¡¯t expect though, is that he could now passively see armor stats and benefits, as well as what level of a craft they were. It was an innate knowledge for having such a high ability in the crafting skills now. He sat down next to Elizabeth, and talked started asking her about herself. She said that she also lived in London, but wasn¡¯t going to say where exactly in London yet. She seemed like she was just trying to keep it to herself, as if she had been let down in the past over something. He had no intention of ever letting her down, and would do everything in his power to protect her no matter what his personal cost was. When dinner finished, everybody left to go to their rooms and get some sleep for the dungeon the next day. Gregory got out the jewelry and jewels and began crafting, he wanted to raise his Enchanting skill and see what new benefits it would reward him. Chapter 20 (A Difficult Dungeon and a New Stat) Gregory gazed out into the night, going over all the new knowledge he had accumulated from the most recent skill book he learned. It jumped him a huge number of levels and proficiencies, making him much stronger and more effective in nearly all of his crafting arts. It also gave him level 99 in the skills he had previously had at advanced, since they would have been 99 had he still been at intermediate. Still though, it didn¡¯t say 100% experience which meant there was likely still another level or rank above GRAND with enough training and hard work. He then began working on enchanting all of the jewelry and armor he had, any less rare precious stones he could find as well. He wanted to raise his enchanting level to at least ADVANCED before too long, so that he could increase the power of the armor he could make. After a full night of hard work and motivation, entering his protected space to make the extra time needed to enchant everything, Gregory had managed ADVANCED enchanting and was able to use any of his spells for enchantments, as well as any enchantments or unique abilities he had previously encountered on armor and weapons. The power he possessed in multiple areas now was continuously growing, making him one of the most powerful crafters of all time. GRAND was a level that nobody else seemed to have, as the normal master in this time had what seemed to be a level somewhere around mid-ADVANCED to very low-EXPERT, making his current skills in crafting the greatest ever. Even his skills in enchanting now were on par with the best there were, and he could only keep on moving up from where he was. My time to return to the present will be coming up soon now, though it will probably still be at least about a year before I can leave. Not only must Elizabeth and I begin our family, but I also need to make myself known as a person who has mastery over spatial and temporal magic. Traveling around Europe in this time should be all I need to do, and if it isn¡¯t I can always go back and forward in time as necessary to make myself known. I have definitely gotten enough mana regen now though, I can keep my strongest spells going indefinitely, which is enough to put me far ahead of most people except maybe Elizabeth now. She has some mana regen, which that book said is extremely rare and considered to only be once in a generation. The next morning came, and Gregory was just about ready to head out. For the first time in what was actually a couple years, Gregory felt more to life than just a goal to get back to his own time. He wanted to get to know Elizabeth, and not just because of the knowledge due to temporal magic that she would be his future¡­ past¡­ his wife. A while back, he found that he had the ability to protect his spouse with temporal magic the same way he would be protected, something that would allow him to be with Elizabeth forever. However, she would need to be willing to leave behind everything and follow him to the future in order to accept this new life. It would be hard to explain it to her; he had been keeping back so much from all these new friends of his. It would not be easy to explain to him that he is actually from a distant time in the future, that his ¡°class¡± is actually of a legendary gamer along with two others, or that he is actually a mixed race being. It was rare here, though not unheard of. There was a fair share of mixed race humans, though many of them were mixed with other more humanoid races rather than animal or mythical races. The mixed race beings he saw were both Orc/Human and Elf/Human, and there were only very small villages of them. It seemed that the races existed outside of dungeons, they were just far more prevalent and less hidden in dungeons. As they all got up and out of the inn, Charles led them to the next dungeon. Gregory could feel a stronger energy signature from this dungeon, though not much. It would definitely be harder to defeat, but Gregory had all the time in the world to train. When he entered his protected space again, he accessed his inventory and pulled out many skill books on buffs and blessings. The skills included ones to increase physical and magical resistances, strength, vitality, skills to cause and strengthen the regeneration speeds of mana and stamina, skills to increase magical power, a skill to increase physical offensive power, and skills to facilitate a small passive healing. These were all books he had amassed while in his own dungeon, and fighting the monsters in the most recent dungeon. All of these skills were immediately learned, and Gregory felt that he would be able to easily work as a true healer and support now. Even though he could keep them all going, it would take nearly all of his mana to keep them going for everybody. Overall, the combat power of the team would be higher, but Gregory would be left with only the ability to perform his most basic spells with all the rest of his mana going out for ally buffs. Leaving his protected space, Gregory walked up to the dungeon entrance again when they got near it. I found the dungeon entrance, come on everybody. Gregory entered the dungeon immediately, and within a minute the others had followed him in. Seems that I will be able to meet up with Elizabeth more since she lives in London, perhaps I can actually return to my present in about a year or so. I just hope Elizabeth doesn¡¯t feel uncomfortable being in a different time when she may have family in this time. Even though they had already gotten a clear idea of Gregory¡¯s leadership, they realized that it was definitely better than even Charles¡¯ abilities at leading them successfully. Before doing anything else, Gregory decided to let them in on something. I have an ability that allows us to all group up to form a ¡°party,¡± and I¡¯ll be sending out ¡°invites¡± so that you can all join. He kept the exact ability vague, but once they had all accepted, Gregory checked his party options. It was obvious that there would be some, especially since some of his skills even mentioned to the party. Looking at the window, he saw that there was a party experience share, and it was set to give experience based on participation. This meant for him that he would gain experience based on how much he helped in getting the kill. Since he gave everybody buffs and healing, he was getting about 50 percent of every kill they got, plus all of the experience for the kills he was getting. Moving forward, Gregory called out for them to assume the same position as the last dungeon, but that he would be buffing them all this time. Placing all the AGI and VIT, as well as the stamina regeneration buffs on everybody, the strength buffs on Charles and George, and the magical attack buffs on Elizabeth, with everybody getting the defensive buffs, Gregory had them all at top power. After all their buffs, they were surprised that Gregory was still able to attack at all with all the mana he was spending on keeping their strength up. He was not only saving enough to heal them, but also had enough to attack with huge bolts of mana. It just amazed them at how much he could spend without seeming to even start running out of mana, especially since they didn¡¯t realize that he could generate all of his mana back every minute. They kept on moving through, Gregory gaining levels way faster this time than the last, and saw that this was an extremely beneficial way to grow stronger faster. He was gaining levels quite often, and just as they killed the last group of monsters, he received a level up notification. He knew it was level 153 now, and that it meant he had 254 status points to spend. He also saw that he had gained another 7 points to his CHA for leading, 3 to DEX, AGI, and SPD due to avoiding attacks and running through mobs, and had even gained an extra STR point. Placing 250 points in INT, he received a new skill notification, and he felt a huge bump to magical power. First, there was a new status that appeared, called MAP which when he clicked it realized it meant Mana Potency. It was a status that removed his ability to lower the mana cost of skills through leveling up the skill, but gave a passive reduction and transferred the increases to magic power from INT and WIS to itself. It also gained a level exactly between INT and WIS, reaching 750. Checking the reductions, he saw that he was only paying 32.5% of the original cost of the spells. It was a very good reduction in cost, and also saw that everybody else had this skill, which seemed to be exactly between INT and WIS for everybody else. Probably a stat that goes up passively for most people, but one that I didn¡¯t have since my system is different. That would explain why I haven¡¯t gotten the benefits from it exactly until now. It does seem to be stronger than leveling up the skill for cost, but the power is still lower it seems until I get the level up to at least around the 90s. The skills Gregory just gained for the new level ups and status were also quite strong. The INT skill bumped his mana further yet, all the way up to 20000. For MAP, Gregory gained skills that increased strength of the magic for the first skills until 500, but then got a skill that gave him full manipulation of magical energy, called MYSTOKINESIS. As a skill it seemed very strong, but it had a note in the description about a mana cost that reduced with level ups in addition to the MAP stat as well as a very high base mana cost. Now that he had leveled up his stats and had gained new skills, Gregory was probably strong enough at this point to individually take down the king of this dungeon, but either way would be strong enough to provide them support and attack at the same time without having to worry about mana even running low anymore. Entering the dungeon lord area, Gregory saw a massive troll-like creature this time. His reveal showed that it was a gaint troll, it seemed his own ice and fire magic would be useless against the beast, and even his mana lances would do nothing to it. His best bet would be to try using his new skill of mystokinesis against it, that along with Elizabeth¡¯s earth spells and George and Charles¡¯ newfound power would be enough to take it out with some time. This creature was hard to take down, it appeared to be some kind of giant troll, and it had two things going for it. There were the resistances that could defend against temperature extremes and electrical attacks, a strong defense against normal magic, and incredibly high protection against physical weapons. It seemed that Gregory would need to use his mystokinesis to try emptying the magical veins of this creature so that he could actually hurt it with magic. As George and Charles were attacking the troll, Elizabeth was using her earth magic to keep it off balance and keep it open to attacks. Gregory on the other hand had channeled all the troll¡¯s mana away so that he could attack it with magic. He used his spinning mana lances while using mystokinesis to keep the troll mana-free and was able to do some substantial damage to it. Thank goodness I actually have more mana now, I¡¯d be unable to even attack right now if it weren¡¯t for the extra mana from getting 500 INT. Eventually, after hours of attacking, Gregory the only one that wasn¡¯t really feeling fatigued, they managed to defeat the beast before them. Its level wasn¡¯t outrageously high, but it had over 900 VIT and plenty of skills to boost natural healing and maximum health. It also had very high physical strength, being over 700, but it had relatively low AGI meaning it was slower than all of them except Gregory himself. It also had very low mental stats, and the protection against magic was likely an innate skill to these giant trolls. For defeating it, Gregory got a number of items, three skill books, a troll slayer title, gaint trolls great club, and troll¡¯s fur cloth. The dungeon¡¯s chest which was also likely a part of Gregory¡¯s gamer skill contained massive amounts of gold, armor and weapons, as well as a high-mages robes. Gregory let everybody else take the earnings except for a portion of the gold. He kept that for himself to buy more goods. Leaving the dungeon, George and Charles were amazed at the loot haul, and even Elizabeth was surprised that she had gained as much as she did. Overall, Gregory gained 7 more levels from the troll, while all the rest of his team had gained 12 levels. They had gained more levels than he did for this dungeon, with George at 148, Elizabeth at 151, and Charles at 152. They were all much stronger, and very nearly at his level. Even their stats were much higher, Elizabeth had 350 in VIT and AGI now, with 600 in INT and WIS. George and Charles had 400 in their secondary stats respectively, while both had 600 INT and 600 in their primary physical stat. His team was now very strong, and Gregory almost looked like the weak link in it. While his overall stats added up to more than theirs, even combined down to their number of stats, due to his much lower VIT and movement based stats, he was much more vulnerable. He needed to level up so that he could raise them now, but it would take some time, especially since he¡¯d have to go back to dungeon¡¯s in real time now to try and level his physical abilities since this most recent dungeon would now be the dungeon in his protected space. STR
Increases physical capabilities related to body strength. The higher the stat, the more punching power, weight lifting capabilities, jumping height/distance, grip strength, etc.
END
Determines the physical durability of the body, the higher this stat, the more physical can be taken without taking excessive physical damage. Also grants stamina recovery speed based on the stat value.
VIT
How much HP a person has, also determines resistance to diseases/infections.
AGI
How much stamina a person has, as well as their acrobatic prowess. Any exercise that would be considered based on acrobatics is determined by the AGI value.
DEX
The speed of a person¡¯s reflexes, and how easily they can follow high-speed movement. This only dictates how quickly a command can be sent to a part of the body once a person reacts to something. A high speed stat with a low DEX would mean that a person would have extreme tunnel vision.
SPD
How quickly a person can move their body on an overall scale. Determines full body speed, how quickly they can dodge after they know something is coming and begin their movement to avoid it. Works in tandem with DEX, not as an exact superior or inferior depending on closeness of DEX and SPD between people.
INT
Determines memory, mana amount, and how quickly a person can think. At a certain level, this stat becomes a fully eidetic memory, capable of remembering all information heard, seen, smelled, and felt. A person with high INT can better process information they are sent from their senses, and can more easily begin sending commands to different parts of the body. Works in Tandem in regards to senses and sending commands though. Since the eyes can best focus on what is in the center of their vision, a low DEX means missing information even if it can all be processed. It also means that even though the signals are sent immediately, it may take time for the signals to arrive and then be sent after they are received and processed.
EP
The potency of a person¡¯s energy. The higher this stat, the less mana/stamina needs to be used for skills. This also reduces the amount of stamina required for running, and how much it costs to block attacks with mana. If a person with higher EP faces off against a person with lower EP, the person with higher EP will need to use less mana to block a move if using an active ability to block an active ability. It also determines the power of skills, as long as they do not specify a specific modifier. This has taken over the mana/stamina reductions from leveling up skills. Leveling up skills now only increases their power, which is at an about average power at 50 for a person with the same EP.
WIS
How wise a person is, their ability to think through new situations and come up with the right answers, or answers that will lead to the best possible outcome. For example, two people with equal stats aside from WIS get into a fight, higher WIS gives an advantage as long as fighting experience is equal. Also determines how quickly mana is regenerated.
CHA
How charismatic a person is, allowing for more successful leadership due to higher trust, and how much people generally like a person. The higher the charisma, the more attractive a person is as well, though it is on a smaller scale than the increase in trust that others will place in a person. Can also have a small affect on bartering skills, and how cheaply a deal can be made below asking price or above expected value based upon quality and other factors.
LUK
How lucky a person is, affects drop rate, how many items drop, small effect on evasion rate, general luck, and how likely something bad is going to happen to you. If a person has 1000 luck, even if their entire life has been ¡°perfect,¡± they could still not have anything bad happen because of their luck stat.

Clothing is also much better at holding a magical charge than armor, since it does not repel or prevent a charge like solid plate metal will.

Chapter 21 (Returning to the Present) Yes, there is a timeskip here. I have an updated status window for the end of the chapter. Gregory got a chance to talk to Elizabeth the entire time, and due to his knowledge that Elizabeth would be his future wife started revealing everything about his abilities to her. At first she was confused, but when he started to explain to her how all the abilities he had, she started to realize how he ended up here and why he seemed to be so strong. He wasn¡¯t just a sage like some of this time, but he was a sage from the future with multiple elemental proficiencies, and a magical energy that isn¡¯t limited or restricted to specific elements. Although, it did seem that it couldn¡¯t just freely gain contradicting elements, since he had spent quite a while inside a time-stopped zone to actually be able to use mana effectively again. He just seemed beyond comprehension in power, and it was something she never thought she¡¯d see from anybody, but this person definitely possessed it. An incomprehensible strength that seemed boundless in ability, even though she could tell he seemed very grounded based on previous experiences. From what she heard, the people he has faced that had scared him, at least on this continent now, were people that he could most likely beat fairly easily with his current abilities. That is aside from the warrior he saw in London. She was totally shocked and in awe that according to him she would marry him. She had feelings for him no doubt, and she did feel that she loved him, but she had no idea if she was ready for marriage. It would likely mean immunity to aging though, which is something that every girl would want. Of course, she was nervous about what it would mean to be a mother to a child that she would never meet. This would be offset of course by the fact that she would get to meet all of her descendants, and eventually marry on of her far distant descendants. It seemed strange thinking of it this way, but it wasn¡¯t like she was marrying anybody even closely related to her. She knew of many people who married in after just six or seven generations, this was at least 40 generations down the line. The thing that seemed strange about it, is that she is marrying somebody that descends from her when she hasn¡¯t even given birth yet. She agreed that they could live together, but that marriage would have to wait until she got to know exactly what kind of person he is. He actually full-on proposed to her already, but she wanted to make sure that he wasn¡¯t just lying to her. It seemed too far-fetched to be a lie. What kind of person would make up such a story only to lie about it? Gregory completed his obligation to the warrior, who was so pleased that he even gave Gregory a large bonus. Gregory thought to himself though, the warrior had increased his physical stats since last he saw him. The man had just 3 points to go from 1000 strength, which would be the maximum points for strength. It was amazing that such a man existed in this time period, and it was amazing that nobody else had achieved that much magical power yet either. Mages are probably too busy trying to kill themselves for benefit to train this hard. That is probably why this warrior here is so strong, he hasn¡¯t had to kill for any inheritance, and has just trained himself to become as strong as possible. Elizabeth is the same way though, but she might have halted her growth had I not come along. That brings to question though, how does this warrior level up so quickly. I know that now he should be almost invincible, even that monster we faced at the end of that last dungeon should easily fall to his skills, but that still doesn¡¯t explain how he can level up so quickly. Gregory forgot about that for now, and decided that he would spend time with Elizabeth. As he started talking to Elizabeth about his life up to this point, most of what was left out, since he only covered since he had obtained his ability, Elizabeth listened intently. Gregory showed her some of his magic by now, and she knew that he definitely had the ability to stop time inside his protected space, and that he definitely had spatial magic. She was amazed though, a person of such magical power here at this place. The fact that he would be her descendant, and lover, was just too much for her to imagine. He was even able to show her some of his family throughout the years, which he had found prior by knowing the surname of all his descendants. Gregory and her spent hours together, talking and learning about each other. Gregory quickly learned all that she told him about her, and how she had gotten to where she was. He loved her with everything in him, she was gorgeous, and he wanted to marry her if there was nothing else. One real-world, three physical(for them) years later Gregory and Elizabeth had gotten married, and now Elizabeth was getting very close to childbirth. After she had married Gregory, she found that she had stopped aging as well, just as Gregory said she would. Elizabeth already decided that once the child was born, they would take care of it just long enough so that they could leave it with the family that took it in in Gregory¡¯s memory. Following that, Gregory would use his magic to bring them to his present, which should be fully cemented and reachable once there was nothing to stop him from getting back. They had both grown stronger. Gregory hadn¡¯t gone up an insane number of levels, but had gone up enough to make himself more powerful and a force to be reckoned with. He eventually reached over 100 in all physical abilities, by his own admonition, and he said that one of his stats transformed from MAP into EP, which controlled all energy potency rather than just mana potency. Still though, most of the skills he gained from MAP remained, but with the focus that it was on all energy, not just magical energy. He also gained another skill, Kinetikinesis, allowing him to control kinetic energy around him, but it was based on his stamina pool. If he wanted to change something, he needed to expend stamina, but he could also take hits in until his stamina reached his cap without taking damage using kinetikinesis to reduce the impact to effectively nothing.. He also raised that newly transformed EP skill to a higher value, since it had dropped to 500 upon becoming EP. Once the child was born, Elizabeth and Gregory went through with their plan. They waited until the child was old enough to be separated from Elizabeth, and then brought him to the Frost Family Castle. Their child would be successful, and risen just as one of the Frosts. He would grow in power, specifically magical power and realize his magical potential. He would then branch off from the Frost family and start his own village once he would become strong enough. Not being able to raise their son felt strange to both of them, despite Gregory¡¯s knowledge that it had to happen this way. They both used Gregory¡¯s temporal magic in conjunction with his spatial magic to return to where Gregory was before he went back with Aetius, to the latest time available to Gregory. As he showed up with Elizabeth in his arms, Aetius was shocked. How did you get back here with somebody? It should be impossible to change the past and return to the proper present. I know you are back to your proper present too, because I can feel the temporal magic you used to get here. However, it feels almost as if there is another kind of magic mixed in. Are you the one who learned both temporal and spatial magic? Is that why you were able to return? Your future at the time we left was in the past for some time? Then that means you are a living paradox, your present was dictated by the actions in the past of your future self. What is also surprising is that you were able to bring somebody along with you, normally bringing somebody along is a reason as to why the future changes. I fell in love once, and couldn¡¯t return to my original time. I ¡°screwed up¡± my own time-line by doing it. How on earth did you manage to do it without destroying the time-line? I was trapped the second I got to that time, not because of my actions, but because my future wife was in the past. I couldn¡¯t return to the present until I had done what I could to remedy the past. Elizabeth here was actually meant to be in this timeline, which I realized because of temporal magic revealing to me what was wrong with the present. Gregory left out how she was his own ancestor, and that they were technically already married. He also left out how he had been his own true ancestor, and that all of his family was there because of him. It was something he didn¡¯t want to reveal if at all possible. He knew that it would eventually come out to most people that Elizabeth was from the past, but if his dad and the rest of his family discovered that he was their ancestor, they could get very distraught over how to handle it. At the moment, he was much stronger than when he had left them, easily one of the strongest people of that time period, and probably one of the strongest people still. That would hold especially true for magic, since he could completely protect against magical energy, and regenerate all his magical energy in a very short period of time. Aetius looked curiously at Gregory, wondering how a paradox such as this could have existed without him realizing it. The idea that a person¡¯s life could be fluid, and being removed is the only way to preserve a future was unimaginable. Of course, the past was considered to be set in stone, and the future is a fluid thing. What Aetius learned though, is that the present he goes through is the one most likely to happen, based on events in the future. He has seen some people who changes something in the past, and were still able to reach back to the present. Somebody even brought steel back to the past, and that is what kept the current present on its original course. Thinking about it revolving around a human being though was hard, especially since he knew people that had destroyed their future by falling in love with a woman. That was another thing, those with temporal magic were aware of alternate realities, in which something did not happen as it was meant to. This was especially so if the alternate timeline is one that happened because of somebody they know. Aetius was just shocked that Gregory had managed to find the path of least resistance so to speak, and got back to the original present instead of being stuck in the past. I am just glad you managed to get yourself back here, it would have been hard to explain to your father what happened here. Anyways, you should probably get home, but I really don¡¯t know what to do with her, your family will probably look at it strangely if you bring a girl home. Well, I will see you Aetius. I was really glad to have trained under you for the time that I did. I will be getting home, and I will just need to tell them what I can about what happened. There needs to be something that will work to make them accepting of this arrangement. As they left, Elizabeth looked at Gregory with some of her own questions. Why would your parents be cautious about you coming home with a girl? You were 16 before you left, it isn¡¯t like you are still a child. Also, what is all this around here. It seems as if there is more magic now than in my time, but I can¡¯t seem to feel any of it. She looked in wonder at street lamps and the like, curious as to how everything worked. As she said this, Gregory pulled out some clothes he had made for her while still in the past, clothes that fit well with the current time. The outfit consisted of a pair of relatively tight jeans, a white long-sleeve shirt with a greyish light jacket that had fur in the collar, very light grey socks that would go up to just above her knees, and women¡¯s undergarments for her, as well as a pair of brown leather boots that went up to her knees. In this time, a person isn¡¯t really considered an adult until they are 18, which makes it difficult to explain why I am bringing a girl home like this. You do look young, which definitely helps, but it is still suspicious to bring a girl home for the night. Although, I could afford to put you in a hotel for the night, but that would be a bit difficult too. Also, I made you some clothes different clothes, since what you are wearing now is a bit strange for this era. I do have these here for you to change in to, and should definitely look really good on you. You should definitely get changed, which is something I should really do as well. He quickly got changed, but she seemed to be having extreme difficulty with this task. She had gotten the underwear on, but was having difficulty with everything else. Gregory helped her, explaining how everything was put on. It started making sense to her after she saw how it worked, but was surprised at how different clothing was in this day. Once she had on her clothes, Gregory made a mirror using mystokinesis so that Elizabeth could see herself. She was shocked, she actually did look nice in these clothes, which surprised her considering how strange they looked off of her. Must be because I am unused to them, I wonder how it will go once we get to Gregory¡¯s house though. As they left Gregory¡¯s protected space, they headed for his home. Gregory and Elizabeth were both nervous about it, but for different reasons. Gregory was nervous because he wasn¡¯t sure his parents would welcome having a girl at their home with their only son. Elizabeth was nervous, because she wanted to see what kind of people Gregory¡¯s parents were exactly. First, the character is less ridiculous, instead he will be deriving strength from his skills and unique class.
