 Chapter 1 : Life is too easy and boring

    My blue Lamborghini cruised to a stop as I arrived at Casue Casino. Attractive ladies and a valet welcomed me as i got out of my car. Seeing my expensive clothes and vehicle, I was most definitely a fat sheep to the casino. With my handsome young looks and extravagance I could imagine what the employees around me were thinking of me. They probably thought i was some spoiled son of a rich businessman here to waste some of his father¡¯s money.


    If i answer truthfully i would say that they are totally wrong. Many different type of people come here. Some come here to spend some of their abundant cash to have some fun gambling while some come here hoping for a lucky break. For me i was here for neither, i was here to win as much as i can. I¡¯m not some spoiled son of a rich businessman here to waste some of his parent¡¯s cash. If someone were to ask me who my parents were and i had no reason to lie, i would answer ¡°I do not know who my parents are.¡±


    Almost all would be confused by my answer seeing how young i was and how much money i had, all of them assumed that i gotten it all from my parents.


    WRONG!


    I earned it all by myself. Unlike what people assumed of me, I did not grow up in a rich family with cash flowing all around me. I was a poor orphaned in a rough neighbourhood. With the amount of orphans in the orphanage, there weren¡¯t people to take care of all of us properly. Some days we would not have anything to eat. Thus each of us had to learn how to take care of ourself.


    Some of the tougher boys would join gangs, while some tried to work in sweatshops to earn some money to survive. For me, i was different from the rest, i learnt to cheat. With my weak build, i knew i would get picked on if i tried to join the gangs, thus i did the next best thing. I would scam, swindle and trick people into getting what i want. When i first started out, i got caught many times and had gotten beat up more times than i can count. However, as time progressed, the chances of me getting caught decreased. The more i cheat, i better i got at it until lying and scamming people became second nature to me. Eventually, i got to where i am now. With millions of dollars in my pocket, all scammed from unfortunate fools.


    After i entered the casino, i joined a table as a new game of poker was starting. The dealer shuffled the cards like a pro and started dealing. This type of poker game was different from the norm, this was specifically the reason i joined. The dealer was playing. He laid down two cards to each player, one for himself. He burned one, placed one on the center. He burned another, one more on center. He repeated that another time and left the pack by the side. The light mood changed in a split second. The tension spread around the room, It was war. The cards lying in front of the players were the answers to a lot of questions. There was only one winner and the stakes was huge. Hundreds of thousands worth of dollars in chips were in the middle.


    Rounds and rounds went on as the money piled up in the middle until it was my turn to move. I could either fold or carry on with the game. My hand was terrible, there were no way for me to win. Normally i wouldn¡¯t need to cheat in games like this as my gambling and lying skills were good enough to carry me through the games even with a bad hand. However I could see that the players in this table were not amateurs. From their eyes and movements, i could see that they were veterans. I knew that some would be able to see through my lie. Thus i had no choice but to cheat. Under the watching gaze of everyone, i began my plan.


    ¡°Damn I can¡¯t decide!Looks like i have to rely on my old trusty old dice to help me make a decision!¡± I said loudly as i pulled a worn out wooden dice from my breast pocket. The dealer eagle eye was watching me like i was prey, however with the introduction of my dice, his concentration wondered. His eyes turned to my right hand holding the dice for a second in the momentary loss of concentration before turning back to my whole body.


    However that small moment was all i need. As soon as everyone attention was focused on the dice for a millisecond, my left hand began it¡¯s work. With my years of experience in sleight of hand, it took no effort for me to switch some of my cards with new ones there were hidden in pocket. It took no longer than a millisecond. Even if everyone was watching to switch my cards, it would be very hard form them to notice that i did anything.     ¡°If the dice rolls anything other than my lucky number 2, i will fold!¡± I announced as i flicked the dice in my hand and catching it in my palm. This was to mess with people¡¯s mind, further confusing them. Since i had a ? chance of folding, most would think that i was not that serious in winning and that i just wanted to have fun and fool around. This is where my disguise as a rich man¡¯s son wasting money for fun would come in.


    As i opened my palm to show the world the results, my pinky flicked the dice without anyone noticing. As the palm opened, it showed the world that it was 2.


    ¡°Looks like i¡¯m raising it then!¡± I cheered as i placed a 5 hundred thousand chip. Although these players were veterans and could hide their emotions very well, the slight hint of greed in their eyes was very clear to me. As a swindler, one thing i leant was reading people, knowing how and what the people i was trying to scam were feeling was very important in me not getting caught.


    Seeing the greed in their eyes, i knew my scam worked. I could guess that they were probably thinking i was a fool and that i had a bad hand. Only one or two dropped out while the rest stayed with a smirk.


    After everything was over, everyone showed their hand.

    Everyone showed their hands except for me and the dealer. Now it was my turn to show. Many eyes turned to me, hoping to see how bad my hand was.


    ¡°Boys, sorry to disappoint!¡± I said as i showed my hand ¡°Four of a kind!¡±


    Everyone face turned to shock as they saw how my innocent face turned into a devilish smile.


    ¡°Dammit! We¡¯ve been tricked!¡± The one who get a flush said as he gashed his teeth.


    After me was the dealer turn to show his hand. The whole time his poker face remained blank as i showed my cards. I praised in my heart how professional the dealer was to not react to what i did. The dealer place his cards down and flipped each card one by one to show what he had.


    ¡°Full house!¡±


    Now, it was the dealer time to shine. This was the reason for me playing this game. In this poker game, in a case where the dealer was lost to someone, the dealer can discard one of his card and draw another one. If the dealer wins the new one, half of the money that i won would go to the house. However if he lost, i would get double of what i earnt from the house.


    This was the reason for this game popularity, the winner will earn a profit either way and the house will have a very high chance of winning. Thus i chose this game.


    Right now i had four 9s and a 10 of spade while the dealer has 3 queens and 2 kings. The dealer discards one of his kings and draws a new card. All he needs to do was get the queen of clubs and he wins me. As the dealer draw the card and put it in front of his face. My frozen heart thawed in excitement. It was very rare for me to feel excited. It was only in tense situations where i would feel that the world had some meaning.


    With my millions of dollars in my pocket i could easily find a place to settle and live a luxurious life. However, with my frozen heart and black outlook on life, that would just causes me to suffer. The only thing in this world that could cause the passion in my heart was living on the edge. Very few things in this world excite me. Other than gambling and scamming people, the only other thing that i liked about this dull world was my partner in crime back when i was a child.


    I couldn¡¯t even care less if the world turned to hell, if it meant that I could have some fun again. Nothing in life was a challenge anymore. Life was truly a bore. As i watch the dealer in anticipation, I did not realised that what i wish for would soon come true.


    The dealer placed the card face down with his blank face, not showing a hint of emotion. He flipped the card over as the players pray, hoping that i would lose for tricking them.


    ¡°King of spade¡±


    ¡°Full house¡±


    ¡°Awww!¡± everyone watching sighed in disappointment as the dealer lost and i won. Perhaps i should be happy i just won 9 millions dollars, however the only thing i felt was the dull ache in my heart as i just felt bored.


    ¡°I won again, Is there nothing in life that could challenge me?¡± I sighed as i scooped up my chips to cash in my winnings. However just as i was about to leave the table with my winnings, i felt a large earthquake shook everyone. I felt a sudden loss of balance and fell to the floor, i could see everyone were also on their knees, however the surrounding was normal, nothing was shaking. I felt a sense of weakness as i fought to remain conscious. It was as if i lose all my strength. However, there was nothing i could do but let the darkness slowly swallow me. Just before i lost conscious, i heard a ¡®ting!¡¯ and saw a blue box in front of me. I could just make it what it said before i totally lost conscious.

 Chapter 2 : World Survival Games

    The first rays of the sun shine through a bright cloudy sky onto my closed eyelids as i slowly woke up. For a moment I just stare at the blue waves as the spark of life inside of me tried to get all my engines going. The wind flowing through me as i felt the sea breeze. The sounds of waves crashing against the hard sand of the beach tickled my ears, teasing me with the knowledge that for the first time in 10 years, i felt out of control.


    Nothing could wake me out of my stupor as my mind tinkered, thinking of what happened to me. I was just imagining different scenarios of how i got here, when i heard the familiar ¡®Ting!¡¯


    A blue text box appeared in front of me, further confusing me.

All of you earthlings have been abducted from your planet and been transported here to participate the next World Survival Games! For this World Survival Games, we have chosen the inhabitants of planet Earth to be the participants. Now for those wondering what the World Survival Games are about, I won¡¯t be telling you.     Now to explain why you are at a beach. You are there to play the preliminary rounds for the World Survival Games. Nope! This isn¡¯t even the first round, Hahahaha! This preliminary rounds are to cull most of the weak and useless people, We can¡¯t have them ruining our fun with their uselessness, can we?


    Now for the rules of this game, All of you earthlings have been divided into groups of 1000. 1000 of you are on each island. All the islands will fall into the ocean in 36 hours. Meaning that all of you will die! However, we can¡¯t just let all of you die before the games even begin,can we? So in the middle of each island, there is an Arc. Yeah, like Noah¡¯s ark! So to survive, you just need to the center of the island and board the arc. Easy right? Nope! There are traps and monsters along the way.


    ¡°But how can we pitiful humans fight and survive against such monsters?¡± you may ask. To help with that each of you will be given a lucky chest. Inside it will be the key to your survival. Some will be a magic skill while some will be items. So make full use of it.

    I just stared at blue text box in front of me dumbfound at the situation as i tried to process all this information. This was huge! For many, they will now be panicking about the situation. However, i was absolutely esactatic.


    Finally there¡¯s something in this world that can raise my curiosity! The fact that a blue text box can just appear in front of me tells me that this was no joke. Everywhere i move, the text box would always be in my vision. If i wanted to touch it, it becomes material. If i wanted it to disappear, it disappeared from my vision.


    This is incredible! This beaks everything i know about science and physics!


    As i got closer into believing that all of this was not a joke and everything was real, i got more pumped and excited. This was the answer to all my prayers! HAHAHAHA! My heartbeat rose as my frozen heart thawed from my burning passion. I always felt that life was a such a bore. But finally, there¡¯s a challenge!


    I willed the blue text box to disappear and then looked at the golden chest in front of me. It was the lucky chest. Inside it was going to be key to my survival. I slowly opened the chest. As i opened it bright golden light spue out from the chest, blinding me with it¡¯s majestic glory. After the lightshow subsided, i finally saw my prize.


    It was a red dice.


    Confused as to how a dice cube was going to help me survive, i picked it up. As i held it in my palm, a blue text box appear in front of me.

    This is amazing! This dice is absolutely bonkers!


    Being a professional gambler and swindler, i knew a thing or two about chances and probability. Being able to increase the likelihood of something happening was godly powerful. I had thought i would get something like a gun or a knife, but never would i have imagined that i would receive such an amazing item.


    Wasting no time, i flicked the red dice with my thumb while saying ¡°the chances of me running into monsters and traps.¡± The dice flipped upwards from my hand, twirling in midair as it turn back down towards my hand due to gravity. As it was coming back down towards my palm, red light shined as red energy surrounded the dice. Black lightning crackled lightly around the sphere of red energy as the dice kept turning. The dazzling ling light show continued on till the dice reach my hand, stopping at 5.


    The display of magic confounded me.


    ¡°If i got such a powerful item, i wonder what others will get, i will have to be careful¡± I pondered as the golden chest disappeared just after i rolled the dice.


    Just as i was about to leave the area to head to the center, i realised two problems. Firstly i had no way of defending myself from the monsters. Although i had increased the chances of me not running into monsters and traps, it was not 100%. Meaning that i would eventually run into monsters.


    The second problem was that i had no idea where the direction of the center was.


    Thus i began to remedy those problems. I gathered some thick branches,rocks and strong fibers from nearby trees. I used one sharp rock to cut and separate the end of the branch into four parts. After separating it into four ends, i place a small sharp rock in the middle of the four ends. Using the strong fibers i got from trees, i tied the the four ends to the rock, holding it in place.


    After finishing the makeshift spear to protect myself with, i looked around to find a vantage point to find the arc. I saw a tall palm tree to my left near the jungle and immediately head towards it. Using the leftover fibers, i tied them around the tree and each end of the finer onto each of my arms. Using the power of friction, i climbed up using the fibers.


    When i got near the top and could see over the treeline, i looked around. What i saw shook me,an extremely large and tall tree the size of a skyscraper towered over everything. The sheer size and majesty pressured me, making me feel as weak as an insect.


    After a few seconds, i got free from my stupor and reminded myself ¡°I am Lawrance eizan, I will not be bullied by a lowly plant!¡±


    I noticed that In the middle of the tree was a large cruise ship. The tree was wrapped around the ship, holding it in place. The tree was about 5 km away from where i was.


    Looks like i found the arc. Should have known that the large silhouette in the distance was going to be the center.


    After finding the direction i should head towards, i climbed back down. As i was climbing down, i turned to face the ocean. I could see that tide rising up and down and far into the distance i could see a large storm heading our way. The side of the beach, the water level rose slowly.


    After i got back down from the tree, i picked up my spear and headed towards the direction of the large tree. Even from below the the tree lines, i could make out the silhouette of the large tree in the distance.


    I cautiously made my way towards the center, checking left and right every few seconds. My hands gripped tightly around my makeshift spear, ready to strike at any impending danger.


    After a few hours, i heard a scream and a growl. It got louder and louder, as it it was coming towards me. I quickly turned to my left and climbed up the tree, hiding myself in the branches and leaves.


    ¡°Anyone help! Please help me and my son!¡± I heard a man screamed.


    I stayed hidden in the tree, not moving an inch. I was not stupid enough to help another person, when i don¡¯t even know what¡¯s happening to him. Even if i knew what was going on, i would still not move if it does not have any benefits.


    I waited there as the cries for help got louder and louder until i finally saw him. The man was a middle age man in business attire. On his back was a young boy around the age of 4, he looked to be unconscious. The man was carrying the boy as he ran from a pack of wolves.


    Or what i believed were wolves, the monsters were shaped like a wolf, but with cloudy black smoke around them. They had bright red menacing eyes that sent shivers down my spine.


    ¡°Someone please help me! Please help me and my son!¡± the man screamed in desperation as the wolves got closer.


    Stupid idiot. Don¡¯t you know that screaming will just attract more wolves.


    I watch as he ran and ran until he got encircled by the wolves. The man was sweating profusely as he shot bluish energy at the wolves. I presumed that the ball of blue energy he was shooting from his hands was his magic skill. He kept killing any wolf that got near him but the eventually the numbers started to overwhelmed him.


    This is why i hate morons, if he had just fought in the beginning and not scream like an idiot, he could have had a chance to survive.


    One of the wolves got near enough to him and landed a decisive blow to his back while he wasn¡¯t looking, ending the man¡¯s life. The child was already dead long ago in the fight. With the death of their prey, the shadow wolves started to devour them, biting into the flesh and feasting on them.

 Chapter 3 : Meeting other survivors

    Seeing the death of the father and son, i remained unfazed. I had a fair share of death when i used to work on the streets. The brutalities of gang wars had already conditioned me to not think too much on the deaths of others. I can¡¯t even remember how many times i seen someone get shot in the head.


    Heck, i can''t even remember how many times i almost died trying to scam and swindle people. Almost everyone in my neighborhood had a gun or a knife with them at all times. If it wasn¡¯t for my partner helping me out in the shadows, the ashes of my body would already be on the streets.


    I continued to not move an inch as the shadow wolves continued with their meal. I silently watch and analyze them. Trying to observe their movement patterns and potential weaknesses.


    After a few minutes of feasting, the jungle floor was painted in the blood of the father and son. The bodies of the pair cleaned up by the wolves. All the meat and bones in the belly of the wolves.


    There were about 6 wolves left, another 2 dead from fighting with the guy.


    The wolves finished with their meal, got up and left the area. I could tell that they did not have a sense of smell as they would have found me easily if they had it. As i was consolidating all the ideas and speculation i had on the wolves, i noticed that on the bloodied grass was a golden ball and a wineskin.


    After checking that the wolves were gone, i got down from the tree and picked up the golden ball and wineskin. When i picked it up, the blue text box appeared again.

    ¡°Interesting, now i have some way of being able to protect myself.¡± I said as i felt energy course through me, filling me up with energy.


    I pointed at a tree and willed the energy to shoot from my hand. Bluish lights condensed into a ball in front of my palm and shot forward towards the tree. An explosion of wood and dust shot out as the energy blast left a fist size hole in the tree.

    Mana most probably mean the amount of energy i have right now. My body has a total of 100 units worth of mana. I wonder if the amount of mana will regenerate over time or will I need to do something to get it back.


    After pondering on the secrecy of mana, i decided to experiment. I decided to wait for half an hour to see if my mana will regenerate and how fast it will regenerate. I needed to determine whether my mana will regenerate over time to plan on my usage of lesser energy blast.


    While waiting for half an hour, i decided to pass the time by experimenting with the corpse of the 4 shadow wolves. The wolves were getting smaller and smaller as the black smoke making the figure of the wolf started to dissipate into the surrounding.


    I used the makeshift spear and stabbed the belly to see it¡¯s innards. The wolf belly turned into a puff of black smoke as the makeshift spear tunneled through it. After i pulled back the spear, the smoke reformed back into the shape of the wolf, although a bit smaller than usual. I continued with the experiments checking every part of the wolf.


    When my experiment was over, i reached a conclusion. The wolves were fully made of black smoke while its eyes were made of red stone. The wolves has the ability to turn material and immaterial anytime they wish.     The only way to kill them was to aim at the red core that made up its eyes. The wolves only have the sense of sight and touch as they lacked any other sensory organs. The wolves used its red stone as eyes to see.


    Thus to beat it effectively, i summarised that I had sneak attack it with my spear and stab it directly at the red core. As long as i don¡¯t get in its sights, it should be easy for me to kill with my spear.


    I check my watch for the time and saw that 30 minutes had passed. Since i had no way of checking the amount of mana i had without the popup whenever i used my mana, i had to take a risk and used my mana. It was imperative to my survival that i had to have full knowledge of how mana works.


    Knowledge was power and with proper understanding of how mana works i could better prepare for the future.


    I willed my mana again and shot a energy blast at the wolves carcasses. In a small explosion, the energy blast and obliterated the already cracked red stones.

    ¡°So mana regenerates at a rate of 1 mana every 10 minutes.¡± I noted into my memory.


    After being down with all my experiments, i decided to head off towards the center. I only had 30 hours left before the flood takes place. Along the way, i decided not to use my dice, keeping it ready for in case of emergency.


    After a few more hours of slowly travelling, i noticed that the sun was soon setting and i was about half way there to the center. Along the way, i did not run into a lot of wolves. Those i did meet, i hid and waited for them to pass. I did not see any reason to risk my life attacking them.


    I also did not used my dice throughout the journey, keeping it off cooldown in case of emergency.


    As i was walking around trying to find a stream to get water, i heard the sound of water flowing. I head towards the direction of the sound, hoping to find a water source. The roaring sounds of a flowing river invaded my ears as i got closer and closer.


    However, just as i was about to leaving the jungle and into the clearing where the river was, i saw a large group of survivor. There were about 24 men,15 women and 17 children.


    Seeing that a large group would be beneficial to my survival, i decided to meet up with them. Though a larger group would attract more shadow wolves, the sheer size of the group would be able to out number them. Moreover, with magic skills and items that people got from the lucky chest, i was sure some people in the group had skills that were beneficial to people in a group.


    After planning how i was going to approach them, i exited the jungle and showed myself. I ran towards them with intense look of relief.


    With my many years of conning and scamming people, i was a master of acting.


    ¡°Other survivors!¡± I cheered as i ran towards the group.


    One of the ladies saw me and motioned to the rest of the group. All of them smiled as they looked at me. All of them knew, the bigger the group, the easier it will be to fend off the wolves.


    ¡°Boy, are you okay?¡± One of the men asked as i joined the group.


    ¡°Yeah, i¡¯m fine, a little shaken up but mostly fine¡± I replied.


    ¡°I¡¯m Darren,¡± Darren introduced himself.


    ¡°I¡¯m lawrance¡± i introduced myself.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry we are together now. With the size of our group, we are able to fend off the wolves well,¡± he tried to reassure me.


    ¡°How did all of you meet up?¡± I asked as the group rested by the river. Some with wineskin like me, used it to scoop the water and passed it around for others to drink.


    ¡°Did you not see the flare?¡± Darren asked.


    ¡°Nope, what flare are you talking about?¡± I asked.


    ¡°Simon over there used a flare gun he got to send a signal to everyone to gather. Anyone who saw the flare received a notification about it¡± Darren explained as he pointed towards a chubby man.


    ¡°Thank god he used it, if we didn¡¯t meet up, i think most of us here would be dead to the wolves,¡± Darren said as he sent a thankful look to Simon.


    ¡°How did you survive by yourself?¡± Darren asked me as he saw my waterskin ¡° you must be very good with that spear to have fended off the beasts by yourself.¡±


    ¡° i just got lucky, it was a blessing i only ran into one or two wolves. I managed to hide in trees and bushes whenever i notice something,¡± I explained ¡° I didn¡¯t even have to used my spear once, i just hid until they passed by.¡±


    ¡°Wow you must be very lucky, we already had to fend off so many packs of wolves so many times,¡± Darren complained.


    ¡°What did you get from your lucky chest?¡± I asked him.


    ¡°I got a skill called water whip, i can create a whip of water and use it to attack the wolves, i¡¯m one of the main defenders of this group, don¡¯t worry i¡¯ll protect you well,¡± Darren smiled at me.


    After thanking him, i mixed around with the group, trying to get to know everyone. Being a good con men, i knew that having a good relationship with others would be helpful in the future. Moreover, knowing what other people skills and items were was great too.


    After talking to everyone and mixing around while walking along the river towards the direction of the center, i learnt a new thing from them. Not only do mana exist,qi exists as well. Some guy had a skill called qi blast which used qi as energy rather than mana.


    We walked for a few hours along the river until the sun set and we decided to settle down for the night. As we were settling down to rest, i saw people pulling out tents and food from black boxes.


    Curious as to how they got the boxes i asked Terry, a 15 year old boy i befriended ¡° Terry, where did you guys get those black boxes?¡±


    ¡°Those boxes? I heard Tom talk about finding it in the jungle, he said that they were called supply boxes and contains food and survival items,¡± Terry explained to me.


    Hearing him talk about supplies boxes, an incredible idea formed in my mind. A devilish grin crept onto my face as i thought of the overpowered abilities of my dice.

 Chapter 4 : Unprepared

    After everyone ate dinner and went into the tents to sleep, i met up with Sirius, the leader of our group, and told him that i would like to take the second shift. We did not have enough sleeping tents and sleeping bags for everyone. Moreover, people needed to take watch in case of wolves attack. Thus half the people would be sleeping while the other half would take watch. After 3 hours, we would swap shifts.


    I decided to enact my plan. Before i take a sleeping bag and rest until the 2nd shift where i have to take watch, i decided to walk into the jungle, hiding myself in the trees. No one noticed me leaving.

    I returned to the campsite, explaining that i took a leak. I took my sleeping bag and dozed off near the fire, calculating the best way to used the other survivors to my benefits. My slumber went on for 2 to 3 hours until a loud scream released me from my dreams.


    ¡° Wolves! Wolves are attacking! Everyone wake up!¡± I heard someone scream.


    With a jolt, my body got out of the confines of my sleeping bag and grabbed my makeshift spear. Due to it being the first time people had to wake up as fast as possible, many people were slow and started panicking.


    I saw the pack of wolves tore through all the helpless fools who took their own sweet time to get up. Those with attacking skills used whatever they had to fend them off, trying to save the rest.


    While everything was going on, i stood by the side with my spear in hand, not using my energy blast at all. Although everyone was panicking and screaming, i was calm and silent. If everyone wasn¡¯t panicking, we would be able to easily fend off the wolf pack. There were only 10 wolves attacking us.


    I decided to just allow the rest to fend them off, not allowing myself to show that i had an attacking skill. Even though many were dying because i did not help, i did not give a shit. If i used my powers, i was pretty sure i could kill at least half of all the wolves. Working for my life when i was young had already taught me not to care about others.

    Seeing the notification,i was shocked, i had thought killing wolves were useless. However with the inclusion of earning points for killing them got my brain thinking. My original plan was scrapped and new ideas were formed.


    After all the wolves were killed, a gloomy atmosphere invaded the camp. The feelings of death and sadness reeked the air as the remaining survivors wept for their fallen family members. About 16 people died from the attack, with a few heavily wounded.


    ¡°Sera! Sera wake up!¡± I saw a middle age man shook a beautiful woman who was lying in a puddle of blood. The middle age man was in denial over the death of his loved one.


    Perhaps i should had have felt sad for him, however all i felt was that he was too weak. He was one of those who were slow in waking up and did not doing anything during the attack. He was panicking and hiding in his sleeping bag while others were fighting. My elitist pride did not allow me to show sympathy towards a person like this. I knew that with his mental and emotional capabilities, he would not be able to live long in this new world.


    After seeing how everyone in the camp lost their senses and panicked like chickens during the attack, my mind had already started to view them as inferior beings.


    I had hoped that due to the World Survival Games that i would be able to meet someone who I acknowledge as an equal being. However, it was a foolish assumption to think i would meet someone who could stand on my level so soon into the game.


    In my whole life, there were only 3 people who could make me say that they were indeed on the same level as me. One was the head of the Sira Mafia, the other was my teacher while the last was my partner in crime back when i used to work on the streets.


    I watched as everyone pick up the bodies of their family members and tried to bury them. They made gravestones using the rocks by the river. All the children were crying while sirius, the leader of our group said his prayers.


    While they were mourning, i went off to roll my dice again. This time i rolled a 6.

    With me rolling 6, the next time i find a supply box, there was a high chance that i would acquire something good.


    After rolling a 6, i kept my dice and tried to find a way to switch my skill to silent walk. However, i found out that i could not change skills during a round. I could only change before a round started.


    I returned to the campsite after rolling the dice to seeing everyone was quiet. Many had lost their friends and loved ones. An aura of depression had settled in this camp. If I was the leader of this group and had gave a crap on them, i would have tried to cheered everyone up and raise morales.


    A group having such a bad morale was going to be detrimental for the survival of this group. If they wanted to survive, everyone had to be on their best shape. If not, when wolves attack again, they will be too slow to retaliate. However there was no way i was going to be a hero and try to give a motivational speech. I did not care enough on whether they lived or died.


    Although i would lose their protection if everyone died, i was sure i could protect myself from the wolves and get to the arc by myself. After observing the behaviour and attack patterns of the wolves, i was sure i could take them on by myself.


    I watched as everyone pick up the supplies and items of their dead family members. Everyone trying to clean up the campsite, most of the sleeping bags and tents were destroyed. However,luckily the wineskins, weapons and all the other stuff people got from the lucky box were indestructible.


    While we were picking everything up and sorting it all out. We heard sounds of leaves moving and branches breaking. We all turned to the source of the noise and quickly prepared our weapons. Everyone on edge due to the previous attack.


    Everyone sighed in relief as we saw a group of people walk out from the tree line. Lights from their torches illuminated the night as they came out from the jungle tree line and onto the river clearing.


    Sirius being our leader, went to talk with them. I saw a man in camo attire walk out from their group to talk with sirius. Everyone had the look of relief as we found more survivors.


    The two groups started to mingle. I joined in on the conversations to make relationships and to learn more about them. Thus i went up to the large burly man to learn more about their group.


    ¡° Hey kid! You okay?¡± he asked me.


    ¡° Yeah, a little shaken up from the attack, but mostly fine,¡± I answered, wiping the sweat of my head.

My conman instincts were telling me that being friends with him would be useful in the future.

    After forming a bond with Andrew and getting to know him better, i decided to sleep to conserve my energy. I was not that worried about another attack. With the inclusion of the new group and the chaos of the attack, i doubt anyone would notice or even care that i did not take watch.

 Chapter 5 : The brave dies first

    The morning sun rose and vanquished the darkness as the orange glow of a rising sun woke me from my slumber. The sounds of murmurings between the survivors fell into my awoken ears as i got out of my sleeping bag.


    ¡°Everyone get ready, we are leaving in 30 minutes,¡± i heard the guy in camo uniform yelled. The guy in camo uniform had taken the position of the leader for our combined group.


    Everyone hurried about to get ready, many still eating rations and drinking from the river. A group of women were together refreshing themselves near the river. Looking around i could see that there were about 70 people in our combined group.


    Seeing that the cooldown of my dice is already over, i went into the trees and hid myself from view. Everyone too busy doing their own thing to notice me sneaking out.


    After checking that no one was around, i took out my dice and flipped it with my thumb.


    ¡°Chances of me finding a supply box without anyone noticing,¡± i said as the dice glowed red and black lightning crackled. When it reached my palm, i saw that it rolled 3.


    I kept my dice and headed back towards the group. I took some of the rations to eat to get some energy.


    After a while of eating, i heard the man in camo uniform shouted ¡° guys let''s leave, i can see the dark clouds getting bigger, we shouldn¡¯t waste anytime.¡±


    Hearing about their impending doom, the group hurried to pack everything. After 5 minutes, everyone was ready and we started to head towards to center.


    We had to leave and head into the jungle as the river started to curve away from the center. We trekked through the jungle slowly as the ups and downs and twists and turns of the jungle ground took it¡¯s toll on the women and children.


    However we could see that we were very close to the big tree in the center as the shadows of the large leaves of the tree eclipsed over us, shielding us from the sun.


    Every time my dice was off cooldown, i would try to roll it, hoping to increase my chances of finding a supply box. After rolling a 3, i rolled two more times and got a 2 then 6.


    5 minutes after i rolled a 6, we were suddenly attacked by a pack of wolves.


    ¡° Wolves! Prepare to fight!¡± The man in camo uniform yelled as his hands glowed red.


    Those with attacking skills instantly brought it out and started to fend them off. Since i was at the rear due to me keep having to hide and roll the dice, i was attacked by 2 wolves.


    Andrew, the person with the poison skill whom i befriended, ran towards me with a long knife. The long knife he had was given to him by his wife. Andrew used the knife and slashed at one of the wolf attacking me. Since all the women and children were in the center of the group, they were safe from the wolves. Only those on the sides were in danger from the wolves.


    With a mighty swing of the knife, Andrew smashes against the red stones of the wolves, instantly killing the poor bugger. I dealt with the other wolf with my spear, penetrating the red stone when it showed its weakness. 10 points were earned as i killed the wolf, bringing my total points to 20.


    More wolves came and surrounded us as we fought for our lives. Seeing that i was going to be surrounded, i backed myself onto a large tree so that they couldn''t attack me from behind. Two wolves came to attack me while one turned to Andrew.


    The two wolves charged at me, fangs bearing. Seeing the opportunity that they couldn¡¯t dodge due to their momentum, i plunged my spear forward to meet one of the wolf. The momentum of the wolf pushed me backward, away from the attack of the other wolf.


    My heart raced as adrenaline pumped through me. The first wolf died from the clash while the other chased to kill me.     Seeing the wolf about to hit me, i turned anti clockwise and meet the fangs of the wolf with the wooden shaft of my makeshift spear. The shaft instantly broke, pushing me to my right away from the tree.


    Just as i felt like i was going hit the floor, a sense of fear crept up as i continued falling. The ground to my right had a small ditch which was covered by leaves. I fell into it with a small thud. Pain spread through my back as it banged into something hard.


    Wasting no time, i used the top half of the broken spear in my right hand and plunged it upwards at the red stone of the shadow wolf that tried to pounced me as i had fallen. The spear broke the red stone, instantly killing the pouncing wolf.


    Seeing that all the immediate dangers were gone, i got up and turned to where i had fall in. I turned towards the ditch to see the hard object that hit my back and saw a small black box. I instantly realised what it was a hurriedly look around to see if anyone else noticed it.


    Everyone else was busy with the wolves. Since i had already seen others opening supply boxes, i knew that no bright lights will appear like the lucky chest. Thus i secretly opened it.


    When i opened it, i saw two things inside it. A spray can and a joker playing card.

    Seeing the notifications, i was puzzled as to what the joker card was used for. I ran my finger through, feeling a cool sensation from the card. It felt like metal, however it was as flexible as a normal playing card.


    Seeing that the number of wolves were dwindling and i had no way of finding out what the card does, i kept the spray and the card in my inner pockets of my blazer. I used my legs to pushed some leaves over the ditch, covering the supply box.


    After hiding it from view, i went and joined the fight, always taking the killing blow on the wolves. After a while, all the wolves were dead and i gained 30 more points. No one sustained serious injuries during the fight and anyone who were injured were healed by a women with a healing skill.


    A golden glow shot out from her hands as the warm spray of healing light washed over everyone, healing all minor injuries.


    After healing and taking a few minutes break, we head off towards the arc. We only had 6 hours left before the flood took place and the dark clouds had already started filling the skies. Light drizzle of rain had started falling as everyone hurried up.


    We trekked for an hour until we were met with a problem. A large gorge blocked our path towards the tree. A violent rushing river churned below the gorge, filling us with fear. On the other side were the humongous roots of the large tree with the arc in the middle.


    ¡°Let''s walk around the gorge, i can see something like a bridge in the distance!¡± The man in camo uniform yelled.


    Seeing something like a bridge in the distance, everyone hurried up towards the bridge.


    When we got to the bridge, a wave of depression filled the air. The wooden bridge was incredibly small and looked old. Creaking sounds filled the air as the bridge swung left and right in the harsh wind. It looked stupidly unsafe to cross.

    The brave fool took and step onto the shaky wooden bridge and crossed it. Every step he took, a loud creak from the bridge would sound out. The brave fool held the rope connecting the bridge tightly and slowly crossed the bridge.


    When he got to the middle, a loud creak exploded forth as the wooden bridge collapsed into many pieces.the ropes split apart as the wooden planks exploded into splinters.


    The brave fool who was in the middle was showered by splinters and fell into the raging river.


    With a splash, the brave fool demonstrated what happens to a person if they swim in a raging river. When the brave fool splashed into the water, the raging current propel him forward into the hard rocks, smashing him into every menacing rocks. Broken bones and ruptured organs were most definitely had by him before he drown in the river.


    People gulped as they felt grateful that there were not stupid enough to volunteer to test the bridge first. Aftering seeing how the broken bridge took the life of a person, everyone felt that they should be extra careful.


    Everyone silent walked along the gorge trying to find a safe place to cross as i thought back on how this round was made to cull the weak and useless people.


    Seeing how the brave fool die, i felt that it was most definitely appropriate.

 Chapter 6 :Chaos and Mayhem

    We trekked along the gorge, wasting no time trying to find a way of passage to the other side. My hair stuck to my face as it drench by the rain. The dark clouds above bellowed as lightning flash and thunder boomed. The signs of a massive storm coming was evident.


    Everyone quicken their pace as the fear of the flood was announced by the growing storm. The pitter patter of the rain bombarding us rang out as we quickly rush onwards.


    It was lucky that my blazer was a high quality blazer which was waterproof, it kept most of the rain out and kept me abit warm.


    After a few hours of walking along the gorge we could see that the two sides of the gorge were getting narrower. New found hope filled the air as everyone saw that the gap of the gorge was getting smaller and smaller.


    We continued walking along the gorge, seeing the gap get narrower and narrower until the two sides met and the passage to their other side was revealed.


    Crossing over to the other side, we finally reached our destination. The big tree with the ship in the middle. We had just arrived at the ship with just an hour to spend. Everyone was thoroughly drenched by the rain and many were shivering from the cold. The young children were hit very hard by this. The mothers and fathers of the children did their best to make it comfortable for their children. However, with the pouring rain and the booming thunders, the children were clearly very frighten and scared.


    I felt no sympathy for them as i had went through worst situation when i was a child. I couldn¡¯t remember the number of times i spent sleeping in the rain when i was a child. I hid from cold killers and fought tooth and nail to survive. I conned man and woman out of their money just for me to get a piece of bread to eat. I almost got killed multiple times after getting caught that i conned them.


    Giant roots of the tree littled the ground and towered over us. The roots paved a passage towards the arc as we climbed on top and towards the large gaping mouth of the arc. The entrance was just a few hundred meters away from us.


    We navigated across the roots towards the entrance of the arc, filled with a sense of hope and longing as it was the key to our survival. By now, no one cared that this was only the preliminary rounds of the World Survival Games. All everyone cared about was the immediate relief of shelter from the cold hard rain.


    As we reached the entrance of the ship, everyone cheered as they rushed inside the ship. Everyone ran inside the ship, saying prayers and kissing the soft carpet of the ship.


    Just as everyone entered and were celebrating, a sense of dread filled them as we realised that the ship¡¯s enormous entrance was not closing. We watched as the entrance remained opened as the rising waters teased us.


    ¡°What¡¯s going on! Why aren''t the entrance closing, i thought we are free!¡± Someone yelled in desperation.


    A loud ting rang out as a blue text box appeared and filled us with a sense of loss and hopelessness.

Everyone state of mind were already very bad from the harsh rain and the deaths of friends and family.


    I watched as everyone grew more desperate to try and force the large door of the ship to close.


    Hahahaha, what a cruel game. Give people a sense of hope, only to firmly crush it in their face. Ha! This is the type of game i¡¯ll like.

    However the fuel were laid everywhere and all it took was one spark to set it all off. In human nature, everyone wanted to live. With morals and laws keeping everyone in check, no one would ever try something bad in notmal. However, with the law of the jungle applying now and the safety of their lives and their family lives at stake, no one cared about morals anymore.


    With tension in the air, the spark finally lit when one person finally reached his boiling point and stabbed the person beside him with a energy sword he made with his skill.


    With the spark lit, the tension exploded into chaos as mayhem ensued. More and more started to join the desperate fight for survival to lower the numbers and keep their family safe. Men, women and even children joined the fray as everyone picked up weapons to fight.


    When i saw the face of the man who just killed for the first time, i felt confused at his reaction. I had seen plenty of people have their first kill before and none of them reacted the way he did. He was shaking and shivering when he did the act but after a second of looking at something in front of him, his face turned into a greedy smile. A suspicion of what just happened appeared in my mind.


    Perhaps i should test this out later, maybe i can use this to my advantage.


    Seeing everything fall into total chaos i knew i needed to do something. It would be hard for me to keep everything under my control if the situation falls into chaos.


    With the plan in mind, i began to do what i do best, tricking people to do what i want them to do.


    I climbed up onto an elevated platform and shouted to everyone ¡° Everyone stop! I have an idea, let¡¯s stop this senseless fighting!¡±


    With the clear voice echoing through the ship, everyone stopped and turned towards me. A look of distrust flashed upon their faces as their looked at me, giving me a chance to explain myself before they kill me for wasting their time.


    ¡° Why don¡¯t we let the women and children go in while the rest fight it out, we should not harm the children!¡± I said.


    ¡° Bullshit! You saw the message, it said this round is to cull the weak and useless, if anything they should be the one kicked out!¡± One person screamed.


    ¡°Yeah! Why should i die for them!¡± Another shouted. Soon many more joined them.


    ¡° What! Fuck you! You will not kill my son! You murderers!¡± A mother screamed. Soon more people joined her as well and two factions were formed.


    One side wanted to kill the women and children while one side didn¡¯t want to kill them.


    Everything went according to what i wanted as the two groups started to fight each other. This was the best way for me to stay in control of everyone. The group i rooting for was the one who didn¡¯t want to kill the women and children. Not only do they have superior numbers, they also have great trust in me as i stood up to try and save the women and children.


    I had predicted that the numbers would fall in my favour as a large majority of the survivors had family members. Me mingling with everyone and knowing how everyone acts led me to this situation where i knew that i would be in the majority.


    Eventually the numbers on the side of the other group started to decrease and dropped to a very low level. My side overpowered them with our numbers and completely decimated them. Everything went according to what i wanted.


    Oh this is too easy, i wonder if something more challenging would appear next round. Hehehe , i can¡¯t wait.


    I stood by the side, not risking myself in the fight. I watch as they killed each other and felt sad that one part of the plan was horrible. People started to noticed that when a person dies, their skill will drop. I could already see the greed in people¡¯s eyes as they furiously killed each other to get more skills. When i looked at Andrew i could see a murderous and greedy glint in his eyes as he killed one after another to protect his wife.


    I could see that his eyes resembles that of a killer, someone who would kill without remorse. I have plenty of killers and murderers before and Andrew eyes had the same feel as them. Seeing his eyes, a smile rose on my face as if i saw a toy to play with. I laughed at the thought of me control Andrew like a puppet to do my biddings in the future.


    Soon all everyone from the other side died and the door of the ship closed. There were only 42 people left in this ship. I watched as the murderous glint in everyone eyes except for Andrew disappeared and were replaced with remorse as the realisation that they just killed a person for the first time set it.


    Many vomited out everything they had as they looked at the dead bodies that were thrown out before the door closed. Everyone felt disgusted at the acts they just performed for their survival as the blood of the fallen marked the walls of the ship.


    While everyone was mourning and feeling sad, the other doors to the other parts of the ship opened and a blue text box appeared in front of us.

    Seeing what the box said a devilish idea popped in my head as a menacing smile propped up on my face.

 Chapter 7 : Mysterious disappearances on the ship

    With the doors to other places of the ship opened, one by one people started to explore the ship. The place we were in was just a large loading area of the ship. The floor was carpeted and the walls of the ship were made of metal.


    I could tell that the metal walls were not made of ordinary metals as it withstood the stray attacks of magic skills. During the fight, the walls were bombarded with magic skills whenever the attacks missed their targets. However, there was not a single scratch on it.


    After leaving the boarding area and entering the inner parts of the ship, i explored and memorised the layout.


    There were 4 levels to the entire ship. The bottom layer was dark and had very few rooms. All the rooms were empty and the lighting there was very dark. The lights were faulty and the doors of the rooms were hard to open. If something was blocking the door, it would be impossible for someone to forcefully open it from the inside. A great deal of force that no man would have would be required to open it.


    The 3rd layer had the dining rooms, kitchens, bars, a pool, a spa and a gym. I could tell that the second floor was the leisure area. It was a place to relax.


    The 2nd and top layer had our sleeping quarters. There were exactly 50 rooms. Each room fitting with basic necessities.


    The ship had everything except for a control room and engines. The ship seemed to move by itself magically.


    Everything was just like a cruise ship, except for the fact that we could not get out of the ship. The walls were fitted with high quality wood, making it feel homely. The floor was lined with red soft carpets and fluorescent lights filled the hallways.


    The kitchen was filled with many different food ingredients and everything was plenty.


    As i was walking around, i could see many people have many different expressions. Some were depressed and scared at what they had to do to live. Some were happy and cheering that they survived.


    After walking around the whole ship and planning what i had to do, i went to find Andrew. Andrew was going to be my target of manipulation .


    Andrew was chilling by the pool with his wife. They were swimming laps. Walking up to them while they were swimming, i asked Andrew¡¯s wife if i could borrow him.


    After me and Andrew sat down by the lounge chairs by the pool, i said to him ¡° Andrew, i don¡¯t know what to do man, i feel so scared right now. What am i going to do when the World Survival Games starts? I don¡¯t have that many points and i don¡¯t have any skills to protect myself with.¡±


    ¡°Kid, don¡¯t worry about it, i¡¯ll be there to protect you, you¡¯re like a son i never had. Trust me, i won¡¯t let anything bad happen to you. Okay?¡± Andrew tried to assure me.

    Just as i said that, i could see Andrew stop for a second, thinking of what i just said. Seeing that he still hasn¡¯t taken the bait, i said ¡° if only there were some way you could earn points on this ship, that''ll be great.¡±


    I could see that internal debate he was having as i said that. His expression changed multiple times as if he was convincing himself to not do it. Seeing that he was still reluctant, i decided to give a final push ¡° By the way, have you seen the bottom floor? It¡¯s quite creepy, nobody wants to go there. Not only is it creepy, the doors are faulty as well, it is very hard to open from the inside if the door is closed.¡±


    I could imagine a bright light bulb lighting up beside Andrew as his expression changed into resolution. Seeing that my work was done, i cheerfully left after saying goodbye. I entered my room after dining in the dining room.


    I changed out of my drenched and muddied clothes and took a shower. Hot water rinsed my dirty body as i used the soap to rubbed out the grit and grime.     A handsome 17 year old boy with wet hair and bags under his eyes greeted me. My black wet hair stuck to my face.


    After getting out of the shower, i wore the white robe i found in the closet and went to the laundry room to clean my clothes before going to sleep.


    The next day, i went round the ship, counting the number of people to check if my plan had worked. After counting everyone, i stopped at number 42. Smiling at the succession of my plan, i went to find Andrew again.


    ¡° Yo Andrew how''s the meal?¡± I asked when i saw him at the dining room eating with his wife.


    ¡°Hey! Come try this, this is absolutely delicious!¡± Andrew cheered as he waved a slab of meat.


    ¡°Sorry, i¡¯m vegetarian,¡± i lied.


    Joining the table, i took a plate of vegetables and ate it, not touching anything meat at all. Most of the food in the kitchen were already cooked and all people need to do was to microwave it.


    I chatted with them while praising and thanking Andrew on how devoted he was in protecting his wife. Andrew blushed and had a look of resolution as he heard me.


    After eating with them, i headed off and rolled my dice trying to increase the chance of me finding a supply box. However, i could not find any supply box in the ship even after rolling a 6. After searching of the whole day, I came to a conclusion that there were no supply boxes on the ship. I learnt something new about the dice after coming to that conclusion. The dice could increase chances of something happening, however it could not change anything that was impossible. It was impossible for me to find any supply boxes as there were none on the ship.


    The next day, i made rounds around the ship again, counting the number of people on the ship. It was 37.


    I wonder if anyone noticed yet.


    I met up with Andrew and his wife again and eat breakfast together before heading off. I did not forget to remind him on him being strong in protecting his wife and me.


    After meeting up with Andrew, i went around the ship to talk to the rest of the survivors. After talking to everyone on the ship, i found out that none of them noticed anything strange. Everyone was doing their own thing.


    Hahaha, Andrew, it ¡®s looks like you certainly did your homework on the choice of your target. I wonder how long it will take until you get caught.


    The next day, i did my routine again. I counted the numbers of people on the ship and then met up with Andrew to eat breakfast. After that i talked with everyone to get a feel of what they were thinking. I also spread rumors of there being sounds of growling coming from the bottom floor.


    Everything was just like yesterday, except for the fact that this time someone asked me if i had seen Ryan. The person had told me he was supposed to meet up with Ryan at the bar for drinks, however Ryan did not showed up. I convinced him that maybe Ryan forgot or was still sleeping and that he should meet up with him tomorrow.


    Next day, i did my rounds again and counted up to 28 people on the ship. I met up with Andrew and his wife again for breakfast before heading off to talk to everyone on the ship.


    However, this time, there were a group of people shouting loudly in the bar. The guy who was asking about where Ryan was yesterday was shouting at everyone that there was something bad was going on in the ship. Almost everyone agreed with him as they too noticed that half of the survivors are already missing.


    More people joined the group as everyone discussed what they should do and where the others were. Eventually all 28 arrived and everyone did a head count.


    ¡° How is this possible! There are only 28 of us left!¡± One person yelled.


    ¡° Where did all the rest go! It¡¯s not like everyone suddenly disappeared!¡± A woman shouted.


    ¡° i think we should all split up and search every corner of the ship!¡± A guy shouted.


    After seeing everyone agree with him, i almost face palmed. However i did not disagree and followed the group who were going to search the top floor.


    After few hours of searching every nook and cranny of the ship, everyone gathered back again at the bar to show their findings.


    ¡° We didn¡¯t find anything¡±


    ¡° Me too¡±


    ¡° Us as well¡±


    Everyone shook their head as they found out that the rest of the group had magically disappeared.


    ¡° How can 19 people disappear just like that! Even if they died, at least there would be a body as the ship is tightly locked. How is it possible for their bodies to vanish too!¡±


    ¡° Wait! There were 28 of us before we left to search the ship, now there¡¯s only 26 people here!¡±


    Someone had finally noticed that while they were searching, two more person had disappeared.

    Imaginations ran wild as everyone tried to convince themselves that a monster existed on the ship. However, a monster did exist, just not the type they thought it was.


    This was how human brains worked. When we do not understand something, our brain would try it¡¯s best to fill in the missing pieces. So when someone said something about growling, people started assuming that there was a monster. Some even tried to explain they heard sounds of growling, when there were none to begin with.

 Chapter 8 : Sole Survivor

    ¡°Let¡¯s go kill that monster!¡±


    ¡°Yeah! If we all work together, we can kill it just like we killed the wolves!¡±


    ¡°Yeah!¡±


    As everyone started started cheering and hyping themselves up to kill the imaginary monster, i couldn¡¯t help but laugh internally. Imagining how Andrew must have felt knowing that an imaginary monster took the blame for him almost made me laugh out loud. However, i controlled myself, before such things happened.


    Everyone started to collect their weapons and got ready to face the terrifying imaginary beast. Keeping up the pretense of a helpful person, i grabbed the knife that i had picked up from one of the dead survivors after the clash in the ship to help in the fight.


    Following everyone, we headed down towards the dark bottom layer of the ship. The threat of the monster and the dark and creepy atmosphere of the bottom layer of the ship haunted us. Everyone moved slowly, afraid of the monster that could jump out at them.


    Step by step, we crept along the dark hallway, slowly opening doors and checking each room thoroughly. As we were walking in the darkness, a pungent smell invaded our nostrils. Most of the adults had a grim expression on their face as they realised what the pungent smell meant.


    ¡° We need to go through with this! In the future, i think we will have to face more situations like this in this bloody game! If we fall back now, we won¡¯t be prepared for the future!¡±


    ¡°Yeah, we should all be prepared for the brutalities we will be facing in the future.¡±


    Door by door, we checked each room as the pungent odour got thicker and teased us with what was ahead.


    Soon we got to the last door. This door led to a large open hall. It was so large and big that in the dark, we could not see the other side from our position. We had to walk into the hall and personally check the other side.


    Slowly one by one, we entered the dark hall, the unknown horrors of the dark frightening us. The odour got stronger and stronger by the minute. After a minute of walking , i got nervous. It was now or never, if i made enough connections and got into Andrew and his wife hearts, this was the time Andrew would take me away. If i failed to bond close enough to them, this was where i would die.


    My heart raced feverishly as a devilish smile crept up my face. Gambling with my life brought great joy and passion in my heart as i left truly alive. Any mistakes would mean my death. I didn¡¯t even used the dice to increase the odds of my plan working as i felt confident that my gamble would pay off. With my years of manipulating people, i truly deserved to die if i could not even manipulate someone like Andrew.


    Thus i let fate decide my life as i followed the group. Eventually, i heard a soft murmur and felt a hand grab my hand. A force pulled me fiercely as i was pulled towards the direction of the door.


    Heh, too easy.


    I laugh internally as my plan worked once again.


    ¡°Don¡¯t make a sound, we need to get out of here,¡± Andrew whispered as Andrew and his wife dragged me towards the door. A hand covered my mouth, preventing me from saying anything while they dragged me as fast as they could to the exit of the hall.


    When we exited the hall, Andrew slammed the door shut after releasing his poisonous gas into the Hall.


    Andrew¡¯s wife turned my face towards as i pretended i was scared and confused at the situation. Seeing my confused expression, Andrew¡¯s wife held my hand gently and look at me with motherly affection.


    ¡°Come, follow me, i will explain to you what¡¯s going on,¡± she said as she pulled me towards the stairs to the upper floors. Meanwhile, Andrew stayed behind to finish his business.


    I continued to act scared and innocent as i followed her upstairs until we reach the the dinner area where we sat down.

    ¡°It started when after you left after eating breakfast the first time we ate together, Andrew turned to me and told me he wanted to discuss something very important in our room.¡±


    ¡°When we were alone together in our room, he came up to me and said that he wanted to kill everyone on the ship for points. At first i was flabbergasted at such a horrible idea but he started to explain why he needed to do it.¡±


    ¡° He said that with our low amounts of points and us not having any good attacking or survival skills, the chances of us being able to live in the next round were very low.¡±


    ¡° He the started explaining how we would all have died if we didn¡¯t have the superior numbers in the fight at the loading area.¡±


    ¡° When he said that, i started to see his way too, we felt that if we wanted to survive in this world, we needed to grow strong ourselves and not rely on others to protect us.¡±


    ¡° So we devised a plan, we would ask one person at a time to accompany us to the bottom floor of the ship and then push them inside the hall and locked them in with Andrew¡¯s poison. Slowly, we killed one after another, earning all the points the people we killed had and all the skills they dropped.¡±


    ¡° We planned that when people started noticing people missing, we would stop. However when we realised that everyone was going to split up and search each floor, we came up with another plan.¡±


    ¡°We would kill those who went to the bottom layer to search and draw everyone into the hall. After drawing everyone inside we would escape the hall with you and shut everyone inside with the poison.¡±


    ¡°I¡¯m sorry we had to do this but if we want to survive in this new world, we need to make some sacrifices,¡± she said as she looked me in the eye.


    I acted hesitant at first then acted like i was debating before i reluctantly agreed to what she said.


    ¡°Great! We just need to use all the points we are going to earn and make ourselves strong and there is no chance we won''t survive this damn game!¡± She said as she pumped her hands.


    Minutes later, Andrew came into the dining room with a large and clunky trash bag. Andrew¡¯s wife turned to him and nodded at him.


    ¡° I knew you would follow us!¡± Andrew cheered as he patted my shoulder with his large hands.


    He opened the large trash bag and pulled out a clear plastic bag. Inside it was a golden ball with a whip symbol. He placed the clear plastic bag in my hand and said ¡°Take it, you don¡¯t have any skills to survive the next round with, we would feel better if you had this.¡±


    Taking the clear plastic bag, i opened it and grabbed the golden ball, a flux of energy entered me as a new skill was registered into my skill registry.

    Instead of lying, i could have just killed them right now when they were not expecting it .However since there weren¡¯t any difference between me killing them now and later. I decided to let them live their last few days together in happiness before the arc stops.


    ¡°Aw that sucks then, i wonder why you don''t have enough mana to cast, but whatever, i will try and help you get a better skill later, okay?¡± Andrew tried to cheer me up.


    ¡°Yeah why don''t we go swim, we should at least enjoy the pleasures of the ship before the ships stops in 3 days,¡± I tried to change the topic.

    Time passed by quickly as we spent the 3 days in happiness, enjoying the spa, playing billet in the leisure room, swimming in the pool and taking shots in the bar. We were just chilling by the pool when we received the notification.


    The arc stopping in 3 hours, be prepared to leave.


    We were already prepared when we received the notification. All the equipments and weapons were in the large trash bag. All we needed to do was changed out of our swimming attire.


    We all decided to meet up by the Arc¡¯s loading area to watch the doors open as the timer reach 0.


    ¡°The next adventure awaits!¡± Andrew said as he faced the large doors of the loading area. Both of them stared resolutely at the door, prepared to face the start of the World Survival Games. However that was the last thing they felt as a blast of energy shot through their head, exploding it into pieces.


    Blood spray everywhere from the headless body as it splash onto me who was right behind them.


    Yuck, looks like i got to bathe again.


    As soon as both of them died, an orb flew out from their bodies. I picked it it, receiving the poison gas skill and all the other skills they picked up from other people.


    Just seconds after they died a notification poped up again.

    What abilities i am planning the mc to have


    Transmutation + manipulation


    Using the hands to touch someone, the user can control them if person is not in combat with the mc.


    Vows : The hands can only control someone if the the person does not realise that the mc is trying to control them and must not see the hands. If the person is already under a highly suggestive state, nen required will be lesser.


    Transmutation + enhancement + specialist


    The hands steals and copy the properties of things mc touches, if the hand touches fire, the hand gains the properties of fire.


    Transmutation + emission


    The hands become invisible, cannot be seen or felt by the naked eye unless they use have an ability which allows them to see life energy.


    After reading your comments, i decided to give the mc the god bloodline in the future. As the mc grows stronger, mc will slowly unlock powers of the bloodline. For what type of god the bloodline will be from, i¡¯m not sure yet, currently thinking of loki.


    For mind powers, he will get haki.


    For magic, i¡¯m not sure yet


    For a weapon, i am currently thinking of him buying a cursed sword, the user needs to kill 10 person each week or else he will die, the sword gains power the more it kills, the more negative emotions a person has when they die, the higher amount of power gained. The sword have the ability of hurting the souls of the enemy with each hit, after 3 hit, the opponent will die if they do not have a way of increasing their soul defense.

 Chapter 9 : The White Hub

    A blinding light burst forth from the door as the entrance of the ship opens. After blinking my eyes to calm my eyes, the bright light disappeared. I had been expecting the ship door to open and i had to get out of the ship. However, to my disbelief, the ship i had just been inside had disappeared. What greeted me was a big plain white room. One second i was in a ship, the next i was somewhere else. Even though i had gotten used to magic, it still took me a second to calm myself.

    Reading about the grand prize of the game, many hearts would beat in excitement. However, for me, i didn¡¯t really care that much about the prize. This game was what i wanted, the journey was worth more to me than the end. Pitting everyone on earth against each other means that only the best of the best could make it to the end.

 Chapter 10 : Power of Nen

    After reading through the shop and stats, i was perplexed and wonder why my dice and joker card wasn¡¯t listed anywhere in the shop. Thinking about it for a few minutes, i came to the conclusion that maybe some items and skills could not be bought and had to br acquired from the games.


    Next, I clicked on the inventory button. I had 18 skills and a lot of utility items, most of which were useless. Out of all the items, only 7 were useful, the wineskin which could hold 5kg of any liquid, a space ring which had a pocket dimension that i could store stuff in, a crossbow gun which turns my magical energy into arrows, a healing spray, a shoe which allows me to perform a double jump, a baton which shocks all those who touches the stick and a sleeping bag.


    Out of all the skills, there were only 4 i found useful, healing touch, shadow clone, inspect and iron skin. Healing touch heals all minor injuries with my touch for 5 mana per second and Iron skin turns my skin to iron for 1 mana per second. The rest of the skills were fully offensive or very situational. From what i gathered about the description of the skills, skills were supposed to be the trump card. Offensive skills were useless as offensive abilities could be learnt from the powers tab. The skills that one should buy was supposed to be something one could not learn when buying from the powers and bloodline.


    On the button of the inventor tab, there was a bag icon. I clicked it to see what it meant and a text appeared saying that i could sell anything for one tenth of the buying price. Since i had a lot of useless skills and items, i decided to sell all the useless ones.

    I clicked accept and gained more points, turning my total amount of points to 7130 points. Curious at how much the dice and joker card would have cost if they were sold. I tried to sell it to check it¡¯s price.

    Wait a minute, if i can¡¯t find the dice in the shop and i can¡¯t find any info on it, how am i supposed to upgrade it? Right now it is a D class item and since all the items and skills with class in their name could be upgraded, i should be able to upgrade the dice too or buy a better version of it.


    I tried to search for a way to learn more about the dice in all the menus but after searching for an hour, i gave up. I used the dice and flicked it while saying ¡° Chances of me finding clues about the dice in the next round.¡±


    I got a 2 on the roll and decided to roll again later, There was a timer on the bottom of the menu counting down and it still had 116 hours left. This means that i had 5 days in the hub to plan and buy what i needed.


    After putting the dice and the card at the back of my mind for now, i decided to plan out what i needed most and the best way to efficiently spend my points.


    Okay, let''s start with defense, i need to buy something to keep myself safe. The greatest threats of the games are going to be other contestants. The main hidden goal of the games is for us to kill each other. If they didn¡¯t want us to kill each other, they would not have made the ark. The reason why the ark travelled for a week was to give us time to kill each other. If they didn¡¯t want us to kill each other, they would have teleported us here immediately after the ark door. Thus it is for certain, the biggest problem i will face are other people.


    Judging by me being 5th person to be sole survivor, this means that more than 99% of the population will have less than 1300 points and only less than a handful will have as much points as me. The most points anyone had in the ark was 300, thus it is safe to assume that the majority will be like them and will have less than 1300 points. Moreover, the chances of me meeting another person who has any where near the amount of points i have is abysmally low.


    Okay, now since they have 1300 points, what would they spend the points on? Most would probably spend most of the points defensively if they are smart and tried to play safe. Almost everyone is scared of losing their life and thus will buy stuff like bulletproof vest, protective clothing and such. Making themselves feel safe would probably cost them around 400 to 800 points. This means they will have very little to spend on other stuff.


    The only cheap weapons they afford are guns and bims. Thus this means, i just need to buy stuff that can deal with bullets and bims. Moreover with how much points, they will have left, it will be unlikely for them to be able to afford many bims, at most they will have is 1 or 2.

    I looked through the armour section again to see what match my description and saw that the cheapest option was the gantz suit. Not only could it deal with most bullets and explosives, it would also increase my strength and mobility by a ton. Though it would not be able to sustain through heavy attacks from big guns, with the powers from other sections, i was certain i would be able to handle it. I clicked the gantz suit and dragged it into the buy icon.


    Next i had to decide on powers or bloodline. The bloodlines were powerful and would increase my physical capabilities by a ton, it was very expansive. Bloodlines were expansive and not very cost efficient, it was only good from c class onwards, so unless i buy d class and c class together, it was not worth it to buy bloodline compared to powers. Thus i decided to not buy it for now.


    For the powers, i had to decide between mental, spirit and magical energy powers. I canceled out all the options which were situational and specific and decided on the ones that were left. Since i did not know much about the games and how it work, picking situational powers would be detrimental. For example, devil fruit powers had a big weakness to water and the users would not be able to swim. It was only after it reach B class where the weakness would be gone. Thus if the next game was held in the sea, i would lose immediately as i could not afford the b class devil fruit powers.


    Since i only had 5130 points left to spend, i decided to buy something which has high growth potential but still cheap in the early stages. Thus i bought d class nen. With Ten,Zetsu,Ren and Gyo, It was sufficient to be able defend myself. With enough practice, i could use ren to kill anyone next round as it is highly unlikely that they could defend against it.


    With d class Nen and gantz suit, i was only left with 3630 points. I had defense and mobility and was only lacking in utility and attack. Since i knew most people could not afford very powerful defense, i did not need to spend much on a powerful weapon. I also did not need to buy small things like guns and bullets as i could just take them from others. Thus i just bought shifting mithril and put it in the buy icon, leaving me with 2130 points left.


    I decided to buy bim bombs next as utility or for emergency situations. I bought 3 barrier bims, 3 implosion bims, 2 blazing gas bims, 3 remote control bims,1 poisonousness smoke bim,2 homing bim and 1 timer bim. Thus i only had 630 points left after spending buying the bims. With the remaining points, i decided to add it into stats.

    After clicking the button for purchase all items in the buy tab, i felt a large shock. Immense pain wallows through me as if i was being shocked by lightning. A large amount of pressure entered me and it felt like something slimy and invisible crawled across my skin. The pressure attacked my body and spirit, bringing me immense amount of pain.


    ¡°ARGGG!!!¡± I screamed for i didn¡¯t know how long until the pressure subsided. Through sheer will, i did not allow myself to lose consciousness. My instincts were telling me to survive through this.


    As the pressure subsided, i felt as if the pores of my skin grew bigger and felt more alive. I could feel great strength coursing through my veins as whitish aura rushed out of my body. My body felt lighter, stronger and i could concentrate better.


    So this is nen. This whitish aura must be nen and the reason my body felt better must be because of the increase in stats.


    However, just as i was thinking about my sudden increase in power, a large stream of information gently entered my mind. The stream of information slowly entered my mind and taught me everything about Ten, Zetsu, Ren and Gyo. As i learnt what i had to do, i felt a great sense of danger. My aura was leaking and if i allowed it to leak too much, I would die.


    I quickly followed the teachings of the information that entered my mind and started to visualise my aura flowing like blood around my body. From the top of my head to my left shoulder and all around my body. The aura circulated all around my body like a river as my body stood still in a natural stance. Slowly the aura started to hover around my body and felt like my body was surrounded by a warm soft mucus. It was like wearing weightless clothes.


    It a few minutes of maintaining this state, it soon felt natural to me and i was able to maintain it without even concentrating. I had successfully stopped my aura from leaking and applied the main principle of Ten.


    With the successful attempt at using ten, i decided to practice Zetsu next. The imaginary pores around my body slowly closed shut. My aura that surrounded me stopped being emitted from my body due as the pores closed. This continued until i stopped emitting energy outside my body and my body felt like it was invisible. My presence slowly decreased and i felt like i was invisible.


    With the loss of my ten, i suddenly felt like i was naked. A sense of danger filled me as i lost my protection and was suddenly defenseless.


    With the successful attempt at zetsu, i decided to practice Ren next. I opened my pores again and used ten. Aura hovered around like firm and i felt protected again. I released my control of my hovering and my aura rushed out. I willed it to expand it¡¯s size and intensity, causing the aura to rushed and become a raging storm. A high amount of aura was emitted from my body as my felt my spirit energy depleting. I felt even stronger than before with the use of Ren.


    With the successful attempt at Ren, i tried to practice gyo. I willed most of my aura to concentrate on one body part, my right fist. Huge power surround my fist as the rest of my body suddenly felt vulnerable again. I punched the white cloudy ground below me and a large shockwave spread out like waves from the ground before magically turning back to normal.


    I changed the concentration of my aura to different body parts and to my eyes. Soon i tried it with every body part until i was capable of performing it on everybody part successfully on my first try.


    Since i had a lot of time left, until the next round starts, i spent the rest of my time training. I switched from one state to the other to gain further control and to increase my speed to changing states. The special ability of the hub, allowed my body regenerate all lost spirit energy immediately. Whenever i ran out, it would instantly recover, bringing me back to full. Throughout the training, not once did i felt like i was tired or needed to eat.

 Chapter 11 : Hunger Games

    As the countdown slowly ticked down, the sounds of a button being pressed echo through the white empty room. I browse through everything in the shop to memorise everything into my mind. All the skills, all the items and everything i could find in the shop, i memorised. I put every explanation, every sentence and every word deep into my mind as i tried to understand everything inside the shop.


    When i had completed my training on the basics of nen, i had decided to learn exactly what each item did. From the time, i started training on nen to the time i started studying, i did not rest. Inside the white hub, i could not feel tired, hungry or thirsty. Thus time flew by quickly.


    Soon the countdown reached 0. Bright blinding white light flashed across me just like when i was teleported from the ark to the white hub. However, this time I was teleported to the next location of the 1st official round of the World Survival Games.


    The bright light dissipated and the scene of the 1st round was shown to me. 3 sides walled in black metal and one side walled by clear glass. I seemed to be in a cage, locked from the outside world. On the other side was a lush vibrant jungle, it was similar to the one from the preliminary round.


    On the clear glass, there was a faint reflection. I could see a handsome young male in a black blazer cloaked on a crisp white shirt and black pants with a brown leather wineskin clung to his belt. I had cleaned and laundered my clothes in the ark to keep it perfectly clean.


    I hated being dirty. It reminded me of the times i worked on the streets. Back before i met my teacher, I had very little money and would rarely had the chance to bathe. Years of being filthy and dirty would usually make people become used to it. However, for me, it was the opposite. I hated being dirty. Thus, i would always try to keep myself clean.


    Looking at the reflection, i felt a sense of confidence beaming from my face.


    Most of all my preparations for the round had already been completed. The space ring was filled will food from the ark and contained all my weapons and utilities. All my weapons were in correct positions, my skill was set to shadow clone, my gantz suit was hidden underneath my clothes, my shoes changed into the double jump shoe and my wineskin filled with 5kg of water hung around my belt.


    I had already rolled my dice to 1 for the chances of me meeting an enemy with more than 2000 points and had rolled my dice to 6 for the chance of me getting a clue on the joker card and the dice. I had also gotten a 1 on the chances of me dying in this round. Thus i could say i was completely confident in doing well in this round.


    The only thing that was not fully completed was what every item and every skill did. With the thousands of things i had in the shop to research and study, it was an impossible task for me to learn it all in just a few days. I had only completed 60% of it.


    Just as i was about to complain about what was taking so long for the message to appear, a ting sound rang and a blue text box appeared in front of me.

    Dear participants of this glorious game, the time for resting and praying in your hub are now over. The World Survival Games has officially began! Hoo Ray!! Cheers!! Woot!!


    Okay, now that the celebrations are over, we will begin by telling you the rules of the 1st game of the World Survival games. Many of you may be wondering what kind of horrible game you will have to play and what not. So to calm your nerves, we have decided that the 1st game will be some dear and fun to you. Thus the 1st game will be¡­..Drum rolls please¡­ dum dum dum¡­ Hunger Games!


    If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.


    The 1st game will be hunger games! Woot, now isn¡¯t that fun! We have seen the love you have shown to movies and decided ¡® Why not make our own!¡¯ And thus the 1st game will be our very own version of hunger games. Aren¡¯t we so nice?


    Thus here are the rules!


    There are 18 sections to this game. Every 3 hour, a section will be doused in flames. A notification will pop up telling you which section will be doused 1 hour before a section is doused. After 54 hours all the sections will fall into the ocean. To survive, you must enter the tower in the middle of the dome.


    Easy right? Here¡¯s the twist, to enter the tower, one must acquire 16 keys. In each dome, there are 48 participants. Each participants will be given one key and a watch showing the map of the dome, the next area which will be doused in flames, the amount of keys each person has acquired and the location for the supply box drop.


    Supply box will randomly be dropped from the sky every few hours. In each supply box, there will be weapons, food, water and keys. Everything you will ever need to survive.Additionally, around the tower are 3 monsters, a python, a panther and a tiger. Each of them will drop 3 keys each.


    Thus to acquire 16 keys, you will have to either take it from others, get it from the supply box or to kill the 3 monsters near the tower! Simple, isn¡¯t it?


    However, since it¡¯s so simple, we decided to add another twist! Hooray another twist!


    From the 1.5 millions games being played, 31 of those games will have a raven. A raven is someone who have lost in the final rounds of the world survival games from other worlds and is given a chance to compete again. The raven did not have to play the preliminary game but they will start with 800 points for this game.


    Hahaha, now that all the rules are explained.

    The clear glass in front of me instantly shattered into a million tiny pieces and turned into small balls of light before disappearing. Instead of charging out, i sat down and began to plan my next moves. There were a lot of things i had to digest and account for.


    Okay, they said that there are a total 48 people playing in each dome. I presume that the dome is the area which we are allowed to play in. There are a total of 18 sections in the dome. Each person has one key and we have to acquired 16 keys to live. So at minimum 3 person will live.


    Thus the best way to win is to form a team of 3 and kill all the other survivors. After that, i will kill the other 2 to get the most amount of points. Should be easy enough, given my head start with the large amounts of points i had.


    The only problem will be the raven. Even though the ravens will only have 800 points to work with, the experience and knowledge they have about the games are their strongest power. If they know the secrets of each game that they can use to their advantage, it will be a big problem.


    Ah! Maybe the raven have the clue to the dice and the joker card.


    I took out my dice and immediately rolled it.


    ¡°The chances of there being a raven in this dome,¡± i muttered.


    It was a 6.


    Great! So the my main goal during this game is to capture the raven, if i can get the raven to spill everything he knows about the game, i will have a larger advantage during the future games.


    I turned to the new watch around my wrist. The strap was navy blue and the glass screen was fully back. I clicked on the screen and a map of the area appeared on the glass. It reminded me of a smartwatch.


    So those red dots represents the other contestants while the green dot represents me. I¡¯m in zone 4 right now with 3 other contestants. Wait! SHIT!


    If the other 3 meet up before i do and team up, i¡¯ll be cornered. Damn! 2 of them are already meeting up, i need to meet up with the guy north of me and get him on my side before all three of them meet up. If they are together, they will have no reason not to hunt me down.


    I immediately dashed out of the cage and into the vast jungle. Branches and leaves whipped me as i rushed through the vegetation towards the guy north of me. With my gantz suit and stats, i easily sped through all the obstacles.


    Soon, i could see that i was getting closer. When i glanced at the watch again, i could see that the guy north of me was still in the same position and the other 2 had already met up.


    Quickening my pace, i took out my shifting mithril and changed it into a machete with 10 mana, leaving me with 90 mana. The cyan sheen of the mithril glisten under the midday sun as i slashed against the vines and branches that blocked my way. With my increased strength, all it took was a flick of my wrist to cut up all the vegetation that blocked my way.


    While on the way, i could spot numerous wildlife fleeing from me. I presumed they were what we had to hunt for food as we could not buy any food or water in the hub. However, since i had looted all the supplies from the ark before leaving, i had plenty of food stored in my spatial ring. Since time does not affect things inside spatial, the food would not spoil. Thus I had enough food to last a least a week.


    I raced through the jungle for like half an hour until i noticed that i was reaching the person north of me. I stopped and ducked behind a tree when i noticed him. He was half naked and had an Ak-47 wrapped around his upper naked body. His well defined abs and rippling muscles combined with the gun reminded me a movie i seen before, Rambo.

 Chapter 12 : Impossible!

    ¡°Who''s there!¡± he shouted while waving his gun around, ready to fire.


    ¡°I want to team up!¡± I replied from behind the big tree.


    ¡°Why would i want to team up with an enemy?¡± he asked as he aimed the gun at the tree i was behind.


    ¡°We only need to collect 16 key each, it will be safer for both of us if we work together to collect the keys. It will be much easier to take the keys from others if you have someone watching your back for you,¡± I explained.


    Seeing that he was not budging and was getting closer, i tried to convince him once more ¡°look at your watch, don¡¯t you see that others are already grouping up? If we don¡¯t work together, we will have to face multiple enemies alone!¡±


    ¡°Okay sure, i will work with you, let''s team up!¡± he replied. I could not see his face as i was hiding behind the tree, thus i could not tell if he was lying or not.


    I used 20 of my spirit energy on shadow clone skill and summoned replica of me, leaving me with 280/300. From it¡¯s looks to it¡¯s clothing, the clone looked exactly like me. I mentally commanded the clone to go around the tree and meet the shirtless guy.


    The clone followed my mental orders without complaints and left the safety of the tree. However, just as the clone got around the tree, a barrage of bullets pelted the clone instantly turning it into shadows that dissolved into the ground.


    ¡°Hahaha, why should i work with others to find 30 more keys, when if i work alone, i just need to find 15 more keys,¡± he gloated while shooting at my clone.


    Author note: There are always idiots in the world, so for don¡¯t complain that i¡¯m making everyone dumb and making only mc smart. Mc will meet smart or people with average intelligence later on. So don¡¯t worry. I¡¯m just making this realistic as there are lots of idiots in the world.


    ¡°Wait what!¡± He exclaimed as he saw my clone turn into shadows.


    Using his momentary loss of concentration due to the surprise, i quickly go out from the other side of the tree and counterattacked.


    Realising his mistake, he quickly turned his gun towards the real me and tried to fire at me. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, I used my aura and released it towards the him. My spirit energy instantly dropped to 257/300 due to me using aura to immobilize him.


    Faced with the overpowering energy, he shivered and stopped moving. Try as he might, he could not stop himself from freezing up. All he needed to do was to pull his finger a few inches more and the bullets would swarm me. Not that it would¡¯ve helped though with all the defensive tools i had, at most it would do was lower my spirit energy by a lot.


    He lost his wits for a few seconds before calming himself and regaining back control. Due to me having low control of my spirit energy, it was not strong enough to kill an enemy with just my aura. The best i could do was immobilize the enemy for a few seconds.


    However, a few seconds was all i needed to finish the job. I instantly turned my machete into a throwing knife and threw it at his face. My magical energy dropped to 83/100. With my increased stats combined with the gantz suit, the knife flew like a spinning shuriken and zoomed towards him. My throw was perfect and the knife spun beautifully towards him. I had handled knives many times before and was one of the best weapon i was proficient at.


    The only weapon i was very familiar with were throwing knives and pistols. I had used knives as tricks multiple times before, thus i was highly proficient at handling knives. Pistols on the other hand, i rarely used even though i was very familiar with how it works and how to properly shoot.


    Back when i was working on the streets i always had a pistol tucked inside my pants by the belt. I had kept it to keep myself safe when working. Almost everyone had a gun while working on the streets, i was no exception. My partner had taught me how to hold and shoot it in case of emergencies. Though i had learnt how to use it, i had only used it twice before.


    ¡°You idiot! If you are so desperate to just collect 16 keys, you could have allied with me and then backstabbed me when we collected a total of 16!¡± I yelled at his stupidity after throwing the knife.


    Sounds of tearing flesh and broken bones was heard as the knife lodge itself into his face and left through the back of his head. His face turned into a cluster of blood and gore as the knife decimated it.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.


    (Author note: welp, looks like Rambo X Mc is dead. Don¡¯t worry, mc will meet another rambo later in the story. :D. They will meet and team up later in the story, just not in this arc.)


    I walked towards the corpse and picked up my shifting mithril before looting his corpse.


    Hehehe, looks like i was right about not needing to buy any guns for myself. SWEET! Though i¡¯m not familiar with rifles, beggars can¡¯t be choosers right? I can just get more guns from others.


    This guy really decked out his AK-47. Upgraded piercing ammo with unlimited bullets. He must have spent almost all his points on this!


    Wow you really went full aggressive mode with all your points buddy.


    Checking his corpse for loot, i found that all he had was the Ak-47, a flashbang and a skill which let him see far away.


    After hanging the strap of the ak-47 around my shoulder, i picked up his watch to get his key. Since i did not received any physical key when the game started, i presumed that the watch was the key.


    The moment i touched his watch, a notification appear on my watch indicating that i had acquired a key. The red dot that was right on top of me slowly dimmed and disappeared after i acquired his key. A number 2 was added on top of my green dot indicating to everyone that i had acquired 2 keys.


    Checking the watch again, i could see many groups of people forming, There were 8 groups of 3, 7 group of 2 and 3 people who were alone. 7 had already died. A few had a number 2 on their dot.


    Since i had killed the guy, there were only two other people left in my section. Those two had already met up. Thus, all i had to do was join them to form a team of 3.


    Before heading off, i tried practicing with the assault rifle. I had never held a rifle before and was not used to handling the recoil. Thus i had to practice and learn how to wield it properly before i get into another battle.


    Though i had not used it before, i had seen the thugs in the mafia holding it while importing and exporting goods before, thus i knew how they held it. I replicated their motion and held it just like they did.


    I gripped the pistol grip of the rifle with my dominant hand which was my right hand and held the handguard with my left. I positioned the butt of the gun to the area between the right chest and shoulder. I lowered my right eye to the level of the front sight and peered through the slot to aim.


    I dragged the body of the muscle man and leaned it by a tree. I backed away from the corpse giving myself distance and aimed again.


    Seeing the disfigured face of the man through the front sight, i pushed the safety button off and pulled the trigger.


    A loud thundering booms sprayed from the nozzle and ejected a hail of bullets at the body. Bullets hailed the body like bees and a fountain of blood poured from the body. The first half of the bullet i fired hit the target where i wanted it while the rest missed.


    With my high strength and proper positioning of my body, i handled the recoil easily for my first time. However, the roaring booms of the bullets echoed loudly into my ear and distracted me after a few seconds.


    Dam! They didn¡¯t say anything about going deaf while firing an assault rifle. No wonder they always wore ear plugs while firing. This is way louder than pistols!


    If i fire this in an enclosed area, i¡¯m definitely going to be deaf. I will have to buy a noise canceling device if i want to continue using this gun in later rounds.


    Unlike what i saw in TV, the explosive sounds of bullets was very loud compared to what they showed.


    After resting my ears, i increased my distance from the body and fired a round of bullets again at the target. I fired in short bursts to maintain my aim and to prevent myself from going deaf.


    Unlike others, who would man up and preserve through with the punishment to the ears ust like that muscle head did. There was no way i was going to allow myself to go deaf when i could avoid it.


    I continued training with the the gun for a while, resting after every burst of shots until i was confident enough to use the rifle in a combat situation.


    Confident of my skills in aiming and handling the rifle, I quickly left the area and ran towards the direction of the other 2.


    With quick haste, i sped through the jungle without any problems with my shifting mithril in machete form. I was attacked by small snakes while bursting through the leaves and branches. However it was nothing i couldn¡¯t handle with my gantz suit for protection.


    Half an hour later, i got closer to the other 2 red dot in my section. There were still in the same position as before. I just needed a few more minutes till i reached them.


    I slowed down my pace and tried to regain my stamina along the way. I had been jogging through the woods for half an hour and it was better if i was in peak position. Although i wasn¡¯t tired due to my high stats and gantz suit, it was better to be safe and sorry.


    After a few minutes of walking, my green dot was right beside the one of the red dots. The two red dots were separated by an inch on my screen on the watch.


    While cautiously going slower, i shouted to get their attention ¡° hello! Is anyone there? I want to team up!¡±


    No reply. Everything was silent except for the sounds of wildlife in the background. The eerie silence greet me with great confusion as i pondered why they aren¡¯t replying.


    Thoughts of it being a trap filled my mind but i continued forth. With a barrier bim in hand, i slowly walked closer and closer until i saw a silhouette. Even if it was a trap, with the barrier bim, gantz suit and my high stats, there was nothing i couldn¡¯t handle. There was no one with enough points to kill me easily.


    A woman was sitting down on a fallen log with her back to me, she was motionless. As i was by her back, i could not see her face.


    ¡°Hello! I mean you no harm, i just wanna team up with you, i¡¯m scared of being alone,¡± i tried to convince her by acting weak and tried to used her motherly nature that could could had have ¡°could you help me?¡±


    However, she kept quiet and remained still, not saying anything.


    Alarm bells rang in my mind as i knew something was definitely wrong. I could see on my watch that she was still alive as her dot was still right above me.


    I clutch my barrier bim tightly and backed off from her immediately. I felt a great sense of danger emanating from somewhere and immediately used my barrier bim. I could feel a surge of power coming my way from a certain direction.


    A transparent shield surround me as a blast of spirit energy blasted against my barrier. A raging beam of fiery red spirit energy impacted against the barrier sending me into great confusion and terror.


    That beam of energy was so strong that it would have dealt a lot of damage to me if not even killed me if it had directly hit me. My heart was sent racing at the prospect of almost dying.


    How is this possible! I know for sure there aren¡¯t any skill or weapon that cost less than 2000 points that can do that much damage! How is it possible that someone has it!

 Chapter 13 : She knows me?

    How is this possible! Did the dice fail? No it can¡¯t be!


    Could it?


    Dammit, i¡¯m panicking! I need to calm down and think rationally!


    Calm down, there¡¯s got to be an explanation for this! I should focus on the enemy first, i will figure this out later!


    The attacks has already stopped, meaning the energy requirement for that attack must be massive. It will not be able to fire continuously. It either needs to recharge or it wastes too much energy that it can¡¯t fire for long.


    If i take the assumption that he has less that 2000 points, i doubt that he can use that attack multiple times. If he has more than 2000 points, then i''ll be in trouble, there are too many variables to consider.


    The moment the barrier ends, he will most likely attack again. Thus i need to prepare for that. Unless he knows the specific timing of the duration of the barrier, he won¡¯t be able to fire the gun amoment before the barrier ends. Meaning, i will have a least a second of dodging time for the next attack.


    I glanced at the watch again, checking where the enemy was. It was northwest.


    Wait a minute! How is this possible! The blast originated from the southeast and since only a few seconds has past since the attack, he couldn¡¯t have gone far from there. The most he could do is change the angle of attack by a few degrees. There¡¯s no way he could have attack from there! Unless...


    Unless he dropped his watch! Dammit! He dropped his watch to make me believe that he was a distance away from here. Thus making me feel safe and not suspect a sneak attack.


    Wait a minute! If he does not have the watch on him right now, that means he won''t be able to locate where i am! Not only that, since he could attack me with great precision without relying on the watch to see where i was, this means he either have an ability that let him do that or he watching me with binoculars or with his eyes.


    If he does have a skill or item that lets him find where i am, he would not need to make this trap. He could havejust sniped me with that attack along my way here, when i was more relax and not aware of my surrounding as much.


    Thus i can confirm that he does not have any skill or item that can locate me. Then this means he is eye distance away from here, thus he is somewhere in the general vicinity!


    There¡¯s no point in fighting him now, not only do i not know where he is, i don¡¯t know what skills or items he have. It¡¯s better to retreat for now and find him again later.


    I took out a poisonous smoke bim and threw it onto the ground, trying to hide my path of retreat. I summoned a shadow clone and commanded it to rush out of the smoke from the southwest direction.


    Holding my breath as long as i could, i ran in the opposite direction while using zetsu to hide my presence. I was betting on the chance that the opponent did not have any ability to pinpoint where i would be in the smoke without the watch.


    While running, i tackled the motionless woman who was on the fallen log. Since figuring out the trap and learning about the use of leaving watches down as traps, i instantly knew that the women must either be a fake or is a dead body. With my tackle, the women topple over, revealing the dead body.


    A dead body of a woman laid on the ground in a rigid sitting position. Her body was supported by branches and poles to hold itself together. Her body had many burns and she had a wretched expression on her face, meaning she was burnt alive. However, her body was not black or fully burnt.     I took off the woman¡¯s watch and gained myself a key.. After getting the key, i quickly ran north, towards the other key that the enemy dropped.


    My clone burst out of the smoke first, drawing the attention of the enemy to it. A burst of red spirit energy was instantly shot at it, decimating my clone. Under the heavy fire of the beam of energy, the clone was completely obliterated. Unlike before, when the clone died to the large burst of red energy, this time there was nothing left for the clone to turn into shadows.


    Right after the shot was fired, i escaped from the other side of the smoke. I ran as fast as i could, sprinting toward the red dot north of me.


    I assumed that with that much heavy fire power, it would certainly take a few seconds before it could befire again. Thus i ran without the need to worry about getting shot at again.


    Soon, i arrived at the spot where the red dot was. My green dot was completely overlapping the red dot on the watch. I looked around, trying find any noticeable place that it could be hidden in.


    I searched for a few minutes until i found a rock as big my head with a large X on it. The X looked unnatural and seemed as if someone had scratched it using another rock.


    I flipped the rock over and found a watch underneath it. I picked it up to get myself another key and returned it back it where it once was. I picked up the large rock with the X again and placed it on top of the watch, just like before.

    I knew that since the enemy failed to me, he would either be returning here to get back his watch or run away. Thus i waited. if he did came back to take back his key, i would capture him. If not, i lose nothing but time. There was a chance he could be the raven, thus i had no reason not to wait for him to come back.


    All i just need to do is wait for a hour or two. If he¡¯s still not back by then, i will assume that he knows this is a trap.


    Damn this guy though! Why is everyone i meet all trying to kill me! Don¡¯t they know that working together in a team of 3 is the best way to win this game?


    This is so irritating, i can¡¯t kill him before finding out if he is a raven or not! Sigh, at least this is fun though. I was wondering when i would meet a competent opponent. Even if this guy is not a raven, this guy is pretty smart to think of using the watch as traps.


    I hid myself in the bushes a few meters away from the watch and crouched as low as possible. I used zetsu to completely hide my presence and got ready with the electric baton. Using the baton, i could use it to paralyze the enemy with the electric shocks after i immobilize him with my aura.


    Since i had to capture the enemy without killing him, i could not place remote control bims. Thus i had to immobilize him with my aura and then capture him if i wanted to question him. Since i wasn¡¯t sure if he was the raven or not, i could not take the chance of accidentally killing the raven before i question him.


    I waited patiently, fully ready and alert. While waiting, i used the time to think about the possible ways he could have cheated my dice.


    Okay! Presuming that the dice is working correctly, what possible explanation ccould it be?


    Is it due to wording? When i rolled the dice , i had asked for the chance of an enemy in the this round having more than 2000 points.


    If it is due to wording, then it must be because of the word enemy! So since he could possibly be an ally before i met him, the dice didn¡¯t factor him. Perhaps it¡¯s because he could become my ally later? This could be a possible explanation.


    Another reason could be is that the attack he performed could be his starting skill or item. Since i only have data on people from my arc, i don¡¯t have enough info on weather it is possible to get something that powerful. Since my dice is powerful, this could also be the case.


    If it is due to the dice not working, this could because only the latest roll of the dice work. I have not fully tested for the likelihood of the power of the dice lasting after rolling again. It could be possible that the power of the dice only works on the latest roll. Since i had rolled for the chance of there being a raven in this game, all my previous rolls could have been nullified.


    Any or all of these 3 explanation could be right!


    The only one of these 3, i have to worry about is the 3rd possibility. If it works that way, i need to check to make sure. If i make an assumption using the previous rolls as a guide, i would be making a grave mistake in the future. I need to check it as soon as possible.


    If it is indeed the case, then i¡¯m lucky i found this out early before i make an assumption using wrong information and getting myself killed by.


    Thus right now, i should play by the assumption that the only info i have is that there is a high chance of there being a raven in this dome.


    Shit, here he comes! Oh, it¡¯s actually a she.


    I watched from the bottom of the bushes, my eyes glued on the hooded figure approaching. A dark blue hood covered the her head while a light blue visor covered her eyes. I could definitely tell that it was a she by the fact that all she had on her were black shorts, black thigh boots and a black sports bra. Over her bra was a blue hooded leather jacket with a hood that hid her head.


    Seriously? You are in a death game and you are wearing that?


    Noticing how she was dressed, i almost cried out and gave myself away. I hurriedly calm myself and stopped grumbling. I focused on her and got ready to unleash my aura.


    She walked towards the rock and lifted it up. The moment she was holding on the rock and was no holding onto the Gun around her belt, i unleash my aura and immobilize her. I instantly rushed out from the bushes and dashed towards her.


    However unlike the rambo before, she was only immobilized for a second before a fiery red transparent flame appeared on her forehead. I ran as fast as i could, using nen to to increase my speed.


    Seeing me appear out of nowhere, she hurriedly reached for her gun by her belt. It was a race against time, it came down to who could perform their action first. Would she pull out her gun and shoot me first or would i reach her with the baton first.


    I got nearer, 3 meters left. Her hand clutch around the grip of her gun. She lifted the gun up towards my direction. As she i was lifting, i made my gambit. Using all my strength i could muster, i threw it towards her.


    Blue arcs of lightning chirp as the baton flew like an arrow towards her. Just she was about the pull the trigger, the baton struck her. Under the effects of the static shock, she started spasming and squirming, unable to hold onto her gun and dropping it.


    I tackled her down and hugged her arms together, preventing her from using it. Using the rope i got from the arc, i tied it around her while holding her hands together. However, just as i was about to start torturing her for info, she spoke in great shock ¡° Lawrence?¡±
