 Chapter 1 Collecting on Debt

    Kal was on the roof of the hospital with patients and staff all looking at him expectantly. His bow pulled taut aiming down at the makeshift target the staff hurriedly setup. He let his arrow go and in a mere moment it hit dead center. All the staff and patients cheered.


    Kal looks over at his grandparents. Seeing their smiles makes this all worth it. He was doing this because they have been begging him to see him shoot since they haven''t been able to make it to any of his tournaments. They finally managed to convince him but he didn''t expect that he would be allowed to shoot on top of a hospital!


    Turns out they managed to convince all the doctors a long time ago and were just waiting for when they wore him down. The crafty old people.


    Kal didn''t really care though the only reason he was so proficient at archery in the first place in the first place was to earn money. His family was extremely poor and lived in a small 2 bedroom apartment that while comfortable was extremely cramped with four people.


    Kal Sapphire was 17 years old and both him and his Aunt Steph were the only ones that made any money to support the family. Two years ago his grandfather Steve Sapphire got lung cancer it progressed to the point that he had to be hospitalized all the time. The family relied on his income to live. Even though he wasn''t able to provide much at least the bills were paid and food was on the table.


    When he got sick Steph stepped up and got two jobs. Normally she was there to look after Kal and his grandmother Charlene. Kal''s grandmother couldn''t walk and had severe breathing problems. At first, it wasn''t that bad Kal''s aunt would be gone most of the time and Kal would do all the chores at home without a complaint. After all these people took him in when his parents died.


    But then the hospital bills started to pile up. Less and less food would be on the table and eventually all there was, was bread, honey, and peanut butter.


    One day Kal was walking home from school after archery practice and saw a poster. The poster was for an archery competition and first place was $500. While the money wasn''t much, Kal now had a way to help even more. From then on Kal decided he would help support his new family.


    Kal crushed his competition. That night he paid the rent and brought home groceries. He was fixing a meal when his aunt came home. When she smelled the food she drooled. Normally she would toast some bread or not eat at all after work. Seeing Kal cooking startled her. At first she thought someone had given them food but when she asked Kal his answer made her cry. After


    After that, Kal competed in every archery tournament that had a cash prize and won almost every time. Thanks to his skills he was even scouted for the Olympics! After that, he was able to pay for everything allowing his aunt some rest at a job she likes and his grandparents a much more comfortable life at the hospital. He even made several donations to the hospital and always came and visited, he even volunteered!


    Kal originally did archery due to his ancestors always being archers in times of war. Of course as time went by they turned into snipers, but his family always practiced the bow. He had no friends really maybe one or two acquaintances but other than that he was dedicated to making sure his family was happy even if it meant his own happiness.

    So when his grandparents wore him down he didn''t mind. He held his championship bow tight in his grasp and for the next hour performed various trick shots. The doctors eventually stopped the show as some patients needed treatment. Kal told his grandparents he would be to their room soon. He just wanted to practice a little more. They smiled and told him to take his time.


    The hospital''s roof wasn''t too bad since it had a helipad it as quite large and was able to give Kal the room he needed for a few shots. He stayed up there for another 20 minutes and when he was on his last arrow something odd happened.

    Kal stood there staring blankly at the blue window in front of him.


    Kal- "What the hell... Is this some kind of joke? Am I high or something? Right I must be tired probably too much training."


    Kal decided to ignore the floating screen and took aim once more. I mean who the hell believes in god anymore? Idiots that''s who. All those morons who think some higher power will help you in your time of need.


    With his arrow nocked and eyes glaring down at the target he let his arrow go.


    Right into the eye of some ugly green creature. It had a pig like nose, wrinkled skin, bulging muscles, and two tusk-like teeth from it''s lower jaw. It carried what looked to be a short sword and all it wore was some beaded necklaces, a ratty cloth, and some weird metal helmet.

    Before he could comprehend what was going on Kal heard a noise behind him. He spun and saw 3 more of the ugly green creatures.


    Kal-"Ok maybe I am not high."

 Chapter 2

    Kal looked at the green pig men in wonder. Then he saw a light and another one appeared on the roof. All of them looked like the dead one minus the arrow in the eye. He had never seen such creatures before. Sure he had heard of odd pig like creatures from stories but couldn''t remember what they were called.


    The pig men were looking around and sort of squealing and snorting in what seemed to be the way they communicate. Then all of a sudden one of them squealed loudly and pointed toward the dead one.


    Kal- "Uh oh."


    All of them then turned toward Kal with angry looks on their faces and drew their weapons. Two had short swords, one had a curved dagger, and the last had a short spear.


    Kal-"Would you believe me if I said it was an accident?"


    In reply all of them squealed and charged. Kal seeing this immediatelybolted he charged toward the door that would lead into the hospital but before he could get there another light shone and another pig man came to be right in front of the door.


    Kal- "What the hell!? Is the roof some kind of spawn point!? Pick one damn spot not the whole roof!"


    Kal was annoyed and scared if the world is really changing and from the looks of it into a game like world then he hoped it was similar to some of the old games. Since he has always been poor even to date he still plays the old Nintendo RPGs as he quite enjoys them. As for any of the newer games and systems he has no idea.


    Changing his direction Kal sprints for his last hope, his arrows. Kal hears the pig men squeal at the new arrival. Probably telling him that the human was an enemy.


    GratefullyKal has been constantly training so his physical condition is actually quite impressive and allows him to make it to his arrows in record time. Grabbing one out of the target he whirls around and takes aim at the first pig man.


    He doesn''t hesitate and puts the arrow into his eye. Kal immediatelygrabs another arrow and launches it into the forehead of the next one. Both drop and another window pops up but Kal ignores it and grabs for another arrow. This one he aims at the spear holder and shoots him straight in his open mouth. Kal watches as he drops his weapon and grasps at the arrow lodged into his mouth, then he falls forward tripping on his own weapon and the arrow is pushed all the way through. Blood starts pooling out around him.


    The remaining two pig-men halt their charge and look at Kal in fear. Kal reaches back for another arrow and curses.


    Kal-"Damnit only brought 4 arrows and I blew three just like that!"


    Kal keeps his eyes on the last two and slowly moves toward the first one he killed and rips out his arrow out of it''s eye. There''s a sickening wet sound that makes him slightly sick. Now that he is close enough he can smell the dead pig man and almost vomits. It was like 4 week B.O. met moldy cheese.


    Kal- "Dear god these things reek! I have no idea what the hell is going on but I have one arrow and two smelly bastards left."


    The last two glance at Kal then bolt through the door into the hospital. No longer wanting to face the fearsome human.


    Kal-"Yea that''s right! Run piggies run! Maybe I can get some breathing room to figure out what''s going on now. First I should grab my arrows."


    After grabbing his arrows he sees another flash of light. This time he immediately puts down the pig man. He waited a few minutes and after no more spawns retrieved his arrow.


    Kal- "Their spawns must be random or the first wave was a way to get a foothold while the rest are timed.Still I am worried about Papal and Nana but if my guess is right there are monster probably in the hospital as well. I need to figure out what these blue screens are and arm myself better."


    He then goes around and starts collecting all the weapon from the dead. Keeping an eye out for any more flashes of light.


    Kal- "Ok 1 short spear 2 short swords and a dagger. Now let''s see what the hell these blue windows are about. But how? Damnit why did I not play more games or read more? Hmm if I remember right it should be something like power screen? No that''s not right umm what about magics? Damn uhhhhh.......Wait! Didn''t one of those windows say something about stats? ok lets try that.


    Kal-"Open stats.......... Ok what the fuck!? Nothing? Hmm maybe open status window?"


    Still coming up with nothing Kal was getting frustrated. How was he supposed to figure anything out if he can''t even figure out his own damn status! All of a sudden a blue screen pops in front of his face.


    Kal-"Huh guess it only works if you think it inside your mind. Now let''s see here."

    Kal- "Not sure if this is good or bad. I can understand my Dex but what''s with my wisdom and intelligence? Is this damn thing trying to call me stupid!? If I look at this the baseline for average is probably 10 and the only reason my stats are at this point are the bonuses I''ve gotten. In other words was I an idiot? My strength should be higher I would think, I mean I wasn''t exactly a lifter but I did work out fairly regularly. Agility seems I got lucky with that one. If I am looking at this right my Hp goes up by ten per lv and my stamina goes up by 1. If I were to look at Mp it is most likely related to my Int at a 1 point for 5 type of deal. These skills though are odd, half I understand the others are a little weird."


    Kal decides to try clicking on one of the skills with a mental tap and a screen appears.

    It looks like an old school quiver made from wood with various symbols around it. As Kal is looking at it a screen appears.

Then I throw all the weapons in my inventory besides the dagger which I put through my belt.) Now lets get a look at that last skill."

    Kal- "Alright now time to-


    Kal feels a sharp pain in his side and finds a dagger stuck there. He looks up and sees a pig man with a grin on its face. During the time he was checking all his stuff he forgot to keep a lookout for the monsters! While hoping it was a male he sends a knee right for its groin. The pig man falls to its knees with a pained squeal Kal takes the dagger in his side and jams it into the creature''s head.


    As Kal is watching it die with a look of pain on his face he sees what it really is now.


    Orc lv: 11


    Kal-"Well now I can put a name to the damn things.Also explains why I got so much from the start."


    Kal was panting he also got a warning telling him he has a bleeding status. He places his hand over the wound. Then he glances over at the Orc and sees something. After a few pained steps he makes it over bends down and grabs a vial with red liquid in it.

    Kal immediately downs it. While it doesn''t immediately fix the wound it stops bleeding. Noticing some coins he grabs them then throws them in the inventory for later exploration. Gathering up any loot he sees he manages to get several different coins and another health potion.


    Kal-"Damn that hurt! I''ve got to be more careful"


    Kal then heads for the door on the roof and goes into the stairwell. He kept his dagger out in case the two orcs that ran were hiding. Seeing that no one was there he locks the door for the roof by taking the spear and putting it through the handle.


    Kal-"I hope every one of you bastards starve up here!"


    Then he looked down the silent stairwell and headed for the floor his grandparents were on.

 Chapter 3

    Kal slowly descended the stairwell. He had to go down three floors to make it to his grandparents room. But due to the injury he got on the roof he couldn''t move too fast as every movement hurt like hell. As he made it down the first set of stairs and came to the first set of doors he peeked through the window into the hallway.


    Kal- "Dear god."


    Kal saw a blood soaked hallway. His entire vision was filled with images of organs, blood, guts, and limbs. He could see some shadows shambling around and others looked to be feasting on the scattered flesh. In short whatever creatures spawned in that hallway massacred everyone. Kal ended up grabbing one of the short swords and jammed it through the door handles. He didn''t care if someone lived in there. He just didn''t want whatever did that to get to him.


    With terror in his heart for his grandparents, Kal continued down the stairs at a faster pace ignoring the pain from his side. Kal didn''t even bother to check the second hallway he just rushed by. But from the screams it seems it was about to reach the same fate as the last. When Kal reached his floor he pulled out his bow. In aswift motion he yanked open the door , held it with his foot, and pulled his bow taut, arrow ready for whatever was here.


    Kal- "Oh nonononononono why!?"


    Kal reacted this way because the hall was filled with white cocoons everywhere. Any person who has seen any decent horror movie knows what this means.


    Kal- "Fuck I hate spiders!"


    Due to Kal''s shout a spider crawled around from one of the cocoons and hissed at him.The spider was blood red with its multiple eyes all deep green in color. It was also about the size of a Large dog.


    Bloodling: Lv 8


    Kal-"Yea I am killing everyone of you just based on the fact you''re a spider. Creepy ass things."


    Kal let his arrow fly and it impaled the spider into the wall. Kal had a smirk on his face.


    Kal- "So long as nothing gets too close I can eliminate them fairly easily."


    However nothing is ever that easy. The spider that was pinned to the wall let out a screech and then all the cocoons started to shake. Kal put another arrow into the spider but it was too late, out of almost every cocoon another spider emerged. Trailing behind them was what looked to be liquefied remains.


    The liquid hit the floor with a steaming hiss and a smell slammed into Kal. Making him want to vomit here and there. But if he did the spider would probably get him and he would end up in the same state as all the other people. Kal let loose arrow after arrow everyone hitting its mark. But it was useless. There were far too many and they were already closing in on him. From his count he had to hit at least 13 before he retreated and closed the door. However only 4 died right away. Those four he pierced in the face. Normally he would hit all kill shots as he has done speed shooting in competitions with an accuracy of over 94% while not the best he was still a damn good shot. However due to the sheer numbers he panicked a little.


    The spiders slammed into the doors but it was pointless unless the bastards could press down the handle in the center there was no way they getting through.But just to be safe he used his last sword as a stop gap. One of the spiders broke the window and tried to squeeze through but its abdomen was too big and it was stuck hissing at him.


    Kal smirked pulled his knife and went to kill it. But before he could the Bloodling shot out its venom at him. Kal jerked to left but his arm was still hit. He hurried and scrambled up the stairs out of the things sight. He heard angry screeches and the sound of another window breaking.


    He sat panting at the top of the stairs and thanked his quick movements. Then he saw steam rising from his arm and a burning sensation started to spread. He immediately threw his shirt to the ground grabbed his knife and grit his teeth.


    Kal-"This is going to suck so bad!"


    With a shaking hand he hurriedly sliced off the burning skin. The pain was far more than he imagined. He screamed the entire time not caring who heard him. Then he pulled out his last health pot and chugged it. However he wasn''t done yet. He then cut off the melting part of his shirt and then cut off the other sleeve. Taking the cutoff sleeve he wrapped it tightly around his arm in a makeshift bandage.


    Kal- "The irony of this does not escape me. I am in a hospital and I had to use a my shirt as a bandage. Man this sucks. Hahahaha owwww."


    Kal was pale and clammy he guessed he might be going into shock but couldn''t figure out how to stop it. However he knew that eventually those Bloodlings would break free and he would die. So he tried to focus. He was out of health potions and he had no medical supplies.

    Kal- "Crap I''m probably going to die here aren''t I? Kinda wish I didn''t take such a large chunkout of my arm now. All the blood loss is probably doing me in... I need to be able to heal or something . Wait! Lets try (Status!)

    Seeing how low his health was made him pale if he didn''t drink that potion how close to death would he be!? But what caught his eye was the term stat points.


    Kal- "I wonder."


    Kal reached for the health spot and tapped it but nothing happened. Frowning he looked at con and tapped it. Con went up by one point and his health rose to 60/180. In his haste he tapped con four more times bring his health up to 100/220. He felt better almost right away.


    Kal-"Seems I hit the baseline for a healthy human. Good to know. Now I have 3 points left what should I use them on?"


    Kal mulled over his choices. At this point int and wis were both unimportant and are things he can work on later. Looking at the rest he finally decided to raise his agi by 2 and stamina by 1.


    His reasons were if he were faster he could have dodged the bloodlings attack and he also decided to add 1 point to stamina so he wouldn''t pass out before he made it to his grandparents.


    His stats were now as follows.

    With his situation somewhat better he stood up, picked up his now, knocked an arrow, and went back down. The second he saw the bloodling in the window he put an arrow in its eye then repeated the action with the other one. The bloodlings were pulled out and another replaced them.


    Kal- "I''ll play your game you bastards!"


    Kal then moved in front of the windows and started shooting.Since he was shooting them directly in front they flew out of the windows and another would move up. Kal didn''t care he just kept shotting rotating back and forth between windows. After what seemed like hours the tide stopped and everything went quiet.


    Kal- "Finally! Jesus Christ there was a lot."


    Kal looked at his stamina and saw it was at 2. A little more and he would''ve collapsed. His fingers were surprisingly not bleeding but he did gain 2 levels from the bloodlings and his health rose by two more levels making it 120/240. and his stamina was now 2/22. He left the four stat points alone.


    Without those 2 levels he would''ve fallen. He gingerly stepped forward and pulled the door open pocketing his short sword again .


    Opening the doors he sees piles of bloodings in various parts of the hallway. Some were pinned to the ceiling and walls. While other were pinned to the cocoons. The rest were just in various piles. Slowly walking through he pocketed everything he saw. There were several hp potions as well as a lot more of those coins he got on the roof. He made it down the hall without seeing anymore bloodlings. He walked toward his grandparents room and saw that the door was closed.


    This sprung a bit of hope in his heart. He went forward and started opening the door.

 Chapter 4

    Kal opened the door.


    HISSSSSSS!!


    A bloodlinglaunched itself at Kal. Thanks to his agility being so high he managed to dodge out of the way. The bloodlinghit the wall then scurried up to the ceiling and started shooting venom at him.


    Kal rolled to the side pulled out an arrow and pinned the bloodlingto the roof in one swift motion. A smile crossed his face.


    Kal- "Huh I guess working on my trick shots paid off after all."


    But then the smile left his face as he realized where the bloodling just came from. He hurried to his feet and almost blacked out. He did a quick check of his stamina and saw it was at 1/22. He angrily put his four stat points in stamina and rushed into the room.


    What he saw was three cocoons. Two of which had holes in the center and were leaking a bit of fluid. Kal paled. Fear at what this meant. Was he going to lose his family all over again? He shakily walked forward, pulled out his dagger and gently started cutting open the third cocoon.


    When no liquid came out he was ecstatic. Maybe Papal or Nana made it! He started cutting more until a face was revealed. All the hope left his face.


    Kal- "No........"


    Tears streamed down Kal''s face at the sight of the person in the cocoon as it wasn''t either member of his family. It was the young doctor assignedto them. Her name was Doctor Evans she was only 22 and still in her residencybut was quite competent and the family loved her as she took great care of them.


    But none of that mattered as this means the occupants of the other cocoons were his grandparents. He knew this as truth because around now Doctor Evans would be giving them their medicine and doing a checkup. She was also the one who escorted them down the roof.


    Kal sat back and scooted toward the wall and balled his eyes out. He cried for all the missed time. During the last 2 years he was working he didn''t get to spend as much time as either party liked with each other. He cried for haveing refused their offers to watch him shoot. He was worried they would wear themselves out or something would happen. And finally he cried at the unfair loss of his second family.


    He was like that for at least a few hours. Surprisingly no bloodlingscame to see what the noise was. As if to give a young man who has already lost so much a moment of grief.


    Eventually Kal heard a sound of skittering rush past the door to the room. His crying stopped almost immediately and his grief was instead replaced by rage.


    He stood up and grabbed his bow. He was going to kill every last one of the bastards! He did a quick check of his stats before heading out.

    His health had went up to 180 and his stamina had recovered to 11.


    Kal- "Good enough."


    Kal''s voice was dark and full of murder. He marched out the door and looked around for a target. He saw a few bloodlings going around the floor. More seemed to have spawned in but no where near the amount that was here originally. Kal didn''t care though he took all of them out. Not a damn one was spared. He opened every room, cut open every cocoon, and slaughtered every single bloodling. Once he ran out of targets he started searching previous areas still not satisfied with the amount he has killed.


    He started getting even angrier at the lack of targets as he came out of another room. But them he saw a bloodling come from around the corner at the end of the hall where the elevators were. He got a dark smile on his face.


    Kal- "So thats where you bastards are hiding!?"


    Kal''s voice was laced with dark pleasure. Remembering what happened with the very first bloodling he shot. He took aim but this wasn''t to kill. He let loose an arrow and pinned this one to the floor. A screech sounded out.


    Kal-"Good call out all of your brothers and sisters I will make sure they get the same treatment!"


    Like he predicted more came at the sound. This time however Kal had the entire hall and more than enough room. He started shooting like a machine. Before an arrow barely left his bow his hand was already starting to release another. Kal didn''t notice it but his hand was moving like a blur constantly pulling arrows from his Infinite quiver. Everytime he raised a level all his stat points would go into stamina making sure he could kill even more of the bloodlings. So though less and less started coming and eventually stopped all together.


    Kal still had at least 20 bloodlings pinned and screeching and hissing. The hallway looked like a few dozen porcupines exploded arrows everywhere but oddly not a single one missed its target. Despite all the arrows Kal shot every single one was in a bloodling.

    Kal was still hoping for more but knew he wouldn''t hold out much longer as his stamina was down to 5 plus his anger has all but receded.He was tired and wanted to mourn his family. So he decided to end the rest of the bloodlings. After he finshed the last on he got a bunch of screens.

    Kal was stunned at the slew of information in front of him. He knew he had gained four levels as he was putting all those points into stamina. but for all this other stuff he wasn''t sure how it all had came to be. Afterall he was seeing red for quite a bit there.


    Kal- "Honestly I''m surprised I just now got the Rapid Fire skill as speed shooting is one of my favorite types of shooting."

    Seeing the huge boost in stats surprised Kal. They were honestly to op for his level. But was really odd was his health and stamina. After doing the math he came to an astonishing and odd conclusion. When his con went over 20 each point in con was now worth 20 in hp. When stamina went over 30 each point was worth 2. Why one was 30 and the other 20 was why he found it so odd. But shrugged it off as part of whatever system this new god came up with.


    As he was heading back to his grandparent''s room all of a sudden he froze because there standing at the end of the hall was the biggest Spider he has ever seen.


    Queen Bloodling lv 20.

 Chapter 5

    Kal''s mind shot back to his childhood. He was in first grade and today was show and tell. The day was fun and everyone was having a decent time. But then when Trevor Tate came to show his pet tarantula it was miss from its container. When everyone saw this they paled. Well everyone but Kal. Why? Because he had found the pet long before anyone noticed it was missing as it was currently climbing up his chest and eventually settled on his cheek.


    Now normally a child would be freaking out. But Kal was from a family of archers and snipers. So from a young age he had to learn to conceal himself to get the perfect shot. And sometimes that would include letting insects and animals crawl all over him. Though even with his training little Kal was scared. He looked at the pets owner with the hope he would grab it but the little bastard was too scared to move. Then seeing that the boy was useless he turned his eye toward his teacher. Who was hiding behind her desk calling for help.


    Kal was stuck with a tarantula bigger than his hand stuck on his cheek for twenty long minutes before a janitor came in pushed aside all the worthless teachers and easily removed the pet and placed it back into its container.


    It goes without saying Kal has hated all spiders no matter their size since then. Also he lost all respect for teachers as whole. Now he wasn''t scared of them nonono. He wanted to exterminate them like the pests that they were.


    Now faced with a spider so large that it could barely fit into the hallway. He took it as a challenge.


    Without even thinking he started launching arrows at the things face. A few connected but the Queen put up one of her legs to block the rest.


    Kal- "Can''t keep that leg up permanentlyqueeny."


    Kal was trained for patience he knew when to take a shot. However he underestimated the Queen Bloodling''sintelligence.


    The Queen raised it''s leg enough to show its mouth and Kal let an arrow go hoping to score a shot at its mouth. But the Queen shot its venom the second it leg was clear. Kal''s arrow was evaporated in an instant. That wasn''t all unlike the little ones the queens venom isn''t a simple spit shot. No it was more of a stream.


    Kal kicked open a room and dove inside. He peeked out the door and saw what the stream did. The floor where he was previously standing was melted all the way to the next floor! Kal went pale at the sight.


    Kal-"Yea maybe I was bit rash in pissing off the oversized spider. Regardless I have to do something. If my guess is right the bloodlingswont spawn in they area instead they are born from that thing. Since its the first day it hasn''t had time to set up it nest perfectly so if I don''tkill that thing now I may be killed later."


    Kal heard the Queen hiss in annoyance that its planned failed and it started heading down the hallway for it''s prey. Kal jumped out and let an arrow fly and watched it sink into one of its eyes. The Queenhissed in pain and thrashed around destroying the ceiling and walls. Kal took this time to retreat toward the staircase.


    He had a plan but he needed the damn thing to stop thrashing. So he let loose a few more arrows that just bounced off but did their job in reminding the thing he was still here. The Queen looked at him in anger and let loose a loud hiss.


    Kal just kept pelting it with arrows. They may be useless against it but if it drops its guard for a second Kal would take all its eyes.

    Kal-"You may be smarter than your kids but you will never match a human."


    He kept up his barrage making sure the Queen couldn''t see the trap. The second before it hit him he jumped backwards into the safety of the stairwell. The queen slammed to a halt when she hit the doorframe. The Queen was lodged into the door half her body made it but her abdemon couldn''t fit. And due to the fact she kept her leg in front of her eyes it was slammed into her eyes and now pinned there she still couldn''t see.


    Kal didn''t waste anytime he rushed forward with his dagger slamming it into its head over and over. He lost track the amount of time he stabbed it but when it finally laid still he collapsed to the ground panting.

    Kal was pissed he went through all that and all he got was a pair of fucking daggers and a goddamn bounty placed on his head! Also he can''t even take down anymore leaders in this damn place otherwise he will get weaker! But thats not what really pissed him off no it was the words "breeding grounds". There was no hope placed on this place from the start. The new god wrote off all the people here as fodder for the monsters and now he cant even kill all of them anymore!


    Kal- "Fuck you Chess! You are no god! You are like all of these beings that you brought here a fucking monster! If its the last thing I do I will make sure you pay!"


    At that moment a scream resounded out from the hallway. It was a voice Kal recognised.


    Kal- "So she wasn''t dead!"


    Kal immediately started hacking at the Queens side making a hole big enough to squeeze through. Covered in spider blood he emerges and does a quick loot check.


    Kal-"Are you serious not only did I not get a level I dont even get any goddamn loot!"


    Kal storms down the hallway far more pissed than before. As he reaches the door he shouts.


    Kal- "Shut the fuck up you dumb bitch!"

 Chapter 6

    Kal was seriously starting to get annoyed. The woman kept screaming and would not shut up! He kept telling her to be quiet and eventually he got fed up, grabbed her head, and glared into her eyes.


    Kal- "I said SHUT.THE.FUCK.UP!!!!!"


    Doctor Evans went quiet right away. But what Kal didn''t know was that it wasn''t from his voice. It was from his bloodlust skill. The skill also turned his eyes scarlet red.


    Cyn Evans was so scared because currently she was staring at a boy with glowing red eyes. The last thing she remembered was seeing some strange screen telling her that god used the earth in a bet. Then these red spiders the size of dogs came and everyone ran screaming. Then while trying to shut the door and block the spiders one of them made it through and smacked her into the wall. She bumped her head and blacked out.


    Now she wakes up alone, covered in some white stuff, and sees the corpse of one of the spiders and panics. While trying to move her head she turns and sees two white cocoons with holes in them and there was a milky, blood colored liquid, dripping out of them.


    She immediatelyknew what happened. She has studied various kinds of medical situations and it looked the same as when someone melts a person with acid. The fact that she was in a similar cocoon made her panic even more to the point where she started screaming hysterically.


    Now staring at the boy with glowing red eyes that just screamed at her. Her body was paralyzed with fear. However she took a closer look at the boy and realized she knew him!


    Cyn- "K-Kal?"


    Kal hearing her respond sighed in annoyance.


    Kal- "About time I figured you would never shut up."


    Cyn''s face dropped into a frown. How dare this boy criticize her!


    Cyn- "Can you help me out of this thing?"


    Her tone was demanding like a woman who was used to getting her way. Kal wasn''t bothered by it though instead he ignored her and went to go check and make sure nothing was on its way.


    Seeing that he ignored her and even started walking away the doctor was filled with anger.


    Cyn- "Hey get back here now and let me go! Stop walking away. Hey! Please please help me. Don''t leave me alone. Come back..."


    She slowly lost her anger and started crying. What if he really left her? She tried and tried to plead with Kal but he just ignored her.


    Kal was annoyed. Do women ever shut up? I mean dear god I''m like 6 feet away just checking the hall and now she is crying wtf!?


    Kal decided to ignore it and check things out. He wasn''t too worried about the stairwell as anything that makes it through that mess will make some noise. The elevators are probably down. Even if they weren''t there is no way monsters would understand how they worked. Which left his only true worry being the hole inthe floormade by the Queen.


    Currently nothing was coming through but all that screaming had to be heard by what was down there. They may try to investigate. But Kal hoped they feared whatever made that hole. Then an idea sprang to his mind. While checking the rooms on the floor he saw there was a room with a fridge and vending machines.Which is most likely the breakroom He started heading in that direction but the second he moved the sobs behind him grew louder.


    Kal- "Oh for the love of-


    Kal went back to the doctor regretting cutting open her cocoon. He pulled out his knife and watched her eyes widen. Kal went down and was about to start cutting when she yelled.


    Cyn- "W-wait! Please I will be quiet. Dont hurt me!"


    Kal snorts in amusement. She thought he wanted to hurt her.


    Kal- "I am trying to cut you free however if you prefer to stay like this please annoy me more."


    She went quiet. Kal seeing that started cutting her out. After a few minutes she was free.


    Cyn- "Thank you...."


    Kal Didn''t respond and instead went to go do what he planned.


    Cyn- "Wait!"


    She got up and started following him. When they came out into the hallway she froze at what she saw. Dozens of dead spiders, arrows, and cocoons. Some smashed some still intact. However when she looked down the hallway her jaw dropped.


    Cyn- "WWwhat the hell is that!"


    Kal turns expecting an enemy with his bow trained looking for a target. Seeing nothing he frowns in annoyance. He looks where she is pointing.


    Kal- "That was their mother."


    Cyn- "Was? Does that mean you killed it?"


    Kal nods at her then heads for the break room. Seeing that Kal wasn''t going to elaborate she grew angry and stomped after him.


    They get to the breakroom and Kal immediately walks forward and shatters the glass on all three vending machines. He starts grabbing everything. One machine held all different kinds of soda and juice and various different brands of water. The other was your average snack machine with various chips, nuts, candy, beef jerky, and bonus danishes! The last one held a weird assortment of stuff. A few energy drinks, a pop tart, a couple of small jugs of milk some chocolate milk, a few ramen cups, some reheatable sandwiches, and lastly for some reason a packaged taco.


    Kal threw everything into his inventory. Then he started dragging one out into the hallway. Cyn was confused by his actions and was wondering where all the stuff he just pulled out went.


    Cyn- "Care to tell me how you are moving that so easily and where all the stuff you just stole went?"


    Kal was really starting to regret not leaving her and just continue through this all alone.


    Kal- "Do you remember seeing a blue screen before the spiders came?"


    Seeing her nod he continues.


    Kal- "Well turns out that wasn''t a joke."


    Kal then went on to explain the system and skills plus everything he has done so far even his inventory. Which he regretted saying. He didn''t say anything about his other skills. Too much information may prove to be a problem later on.

    Cyn absorbed all he said and when he was done brought up her own stats. While she was doing that he continued down the hall with the vending machine.


    Kal- "Yea sure no I don''t need help with the heavy ass vending machine at all just sit there and do nothing. I have a feeling I should get used to it. Fucking useless."


    While Kal may sound harsh he knew she would hold him back if they stayed with each other. Regardless he needed her for now at least. As he has more plans before he leaves this place. Finally he places the machine over the hole but not before he sees yellow eyes glare up at him. To which he gives a red glare back to and it scurries away.


    Exhausted and tired Kal heads to a room whose occupant never made it back to and collapses on the bed. He passes out for a bit but then hears pounding on the door.


    Cyn- "Kal are you in there?"


    Kal- "Goddamnit am I going to have to hold her hand all the time? I just want some damn sleep!"


    Kal angrily swings open the door. And glares at her.


    Kal- "What!?"


    Cyn shivers at his tone but stares defiantly back at him.


    Cyn- "Ok seriously whats your problem!?"


    Cyn has had enough of being yelled at and talked down to. She was from a rich family and has had everything explained and provided for her. She became a doctor on a whim because she wanted to make drugs and get into her family''s business. She was almost done with her residency when all this happened. She was used to ordering servants and other people around not the other way around. And here a boy 5 years her junior was yelling at her about every little thing.


    Kal almosts punches her. He can see the elitest look in her eyes. He has seen it several times in his life and is in no mood to see it now.


    Kal- "My problem is that I saved some rich bitch who could''ve gotten me killed with her crying and whining. Who if she should remember was in the same room as my grandparents! Today has been incredibly fucked up ok? I have been stabbed by an orc, attacked by a horde of spiders, and then almost melted by their mother. Now when I try to get some sleep you ask me what my problem is!? So let me ask again. WHAT!?"


    Cyn''s face is covered in shame. How could she forget all that he has dealt with.He single handily took care of the spiders and rescued her. And here she was bothering him. But what could she do? She is used to being taken care of. All the care she has given was all an act. She never wanted to care for others but did so to get to her goal.


    When he left her alone while she was examining her window she didn''t notice. When she looked up and saw he was gone she grew scared and went to look for him angry that he left her. Now after he yelled at her she understood she had no right to be angry. He went to save his family and instead saved her. How could he not be angry?


    Cyn- "I''m sorry."


    Kal glared at her a little, sighed, then turned and plopped down onto the bed again. Cyn entered and shut the door, then went to sit in one of the chairs.


    Kal saw her sit and stay quiet. After a few hours of silence he sat up pulled out some chips and water. He was surprised that the water was still as cold as when he put it in there.


    Kal- (Oh that''s awesome! That means everything I put in there is frozen in time or something. Which means before we lose electricity I need to cook all the food I find.)


    He put everything back and went to the break room again. He then started to microwave everything that needed it and put it back in his inventory. Cyn followed him and watched wondering why he was cooking all that food. But decided not to bother him..


    After Kal was done his stomach started growling and pulled out a bag of chips, a coke, and a freshly heated sandwich. He pulled out the first one he cooked to see if it was still hot and it was as hot as when he put it in. Smiling at his discovery he started to dig in when he heard a stomach growl. He looked up to see an embarrassed Cyn and sighed.


    He pulled out a similar set and motioned for her to eat. She smiled and dug in. As they were eating Kal remembered he forgot something. Reaching into his inventory he pulled out the Bloodling Daggers.

    With this sight Kal smiled. It was almost worth killing the queen now almost. The daggers were small about 9inches long and curved. The handle was black and had the image of a Queen Bloodling wrapped around it. Looking at the blade Kal could see the edge was coated green. This had to be the venom. He wondered briefly why it doesn''t drip. Doing so turned out to be a mistake as it started falling like a facet. He immediate jumped back and thought STOP!


    Cyn was staring at Kal in shock. She saw him pull out the daggers and look them over but then they started gushing out some green liquid that melted the table.


    Cyn- "What the hell are those things?"


    Kal- "I got them from killing all the bloodlings, they secrete their venom. Although on a much lower scale of power it seems."


    Kal was looking at the table where the venom was and it had barely eaten a quarter way through. Checking the blades over again he saw that they said lv 1 which means they can get stronger.


    After they finished eating they went back to the room Kal had chosen and called it a night. Kal still took the bed though,Afterall he was the one who did the work. Cyn glared but didn''t say anything. She pushed together two chairs and slept.


    And that was the end of Kal''s first day in the new world.

 Chapter 7

    Kal woke up feeling uncomfortable, hot, and a bit suffocated. A feeling he was familiar with. The reason for this was he was currently being used as a body pillow. He knows this as his aunt tends to do it to him whenever he is sick or sad due to the fact they share a room. Her reasoning being that he is her son now and this is a mother''s job. His grandmother and mother did the same thing so he always accepted it.


    Now he finds the person who he was yelling at constantly using him as a fricken body pillow!?


    What Kal didn''t realize that in his sleep he was tossing and turning.Hearing movement Cyn woke to the sound of him. She then saw his issue and tried to soothe him. Just then remembering he was a teenager who has just lost his most important family members and went through several life and death situations. When she saw him start to cry and mumble his grandparents names she laid down and pulled him close. While he may be a little ass he has his reasons and he saved her so this is the least she could do. However she passed out while comforting him as he was incredibly comfortable.


    What Kal''s family never told him is that they had a bit of selfish reasons on their part. When sleeping with him they always awoke refreshed and slept peacefully.


    So this situation happened.


    But Kal was partly pissed not because she used him as a pillow no. She fucking drooled on him!


    Kal abruptlysat up and watched as she fell with and hit the floor with a yelp. Cyn glared up at him for the rude awakening.


    Cyn- "What the hell!?"


    Kal ignored her as usual as her actions reminded him he wasn''t completely alone he still has his aunt. Which means he needs to leave soon.


    Kal-"We are going to be busy today so after a quick breakfast prepare yourself because we are going to be in danger the whole time."


    Cyn looked blankly at Kal. Prepare for what and what does he mean danger? Before she could ask though he spoke again.


    Kal- " First I need some information. Where are most of the medical supplies housed?"


    Cyn- "You plan on robbing the hospital!?"


    Kal-(Stupid girl.) " The world has changed medical supplies are going to be scarce so if I get them now I can save myself and possibly others later got it Doc?"


    Cyn thought about what he said and decided he was right afterall who knows what happened outside and once out of here would they risk coming back? The best thing would be to grab as much as they could.


    Cyn- "The main storage of medical supplies are on the top floor next to the blood storage. And my name is not Doc it is Cyn."


    Kal barely heard the last part as he stiffened when he heard her say the top floor. He remembers what he saw there and really did not want to go there. He turned back to her.


    Kal- "So how good are you with gore?"

    Almost an hour later the two were walking up the stairs covered in Queen Bloodlinggore. After Cyn squeezed through she threw up. The smell alone was horrible and then to be covered in its blood made it much worse. Kal smirked as she is about to see, smell, and do much worse soon.


    As they passed the door at the next floor Kal peeked through but it was dark like someone took out all the lights. However at the end of the hall he could see a flickering light. Then a woman covered in blood and holding a sword came into view. She was limping dow the hallway towards the door. Her eyes met Kal''s and she started moving faster. Happiness and tears filling her eyes.


    Cyn- "Trisha!?"


    Kal whipped around like lighting and slammed his hand over her mouth. Then went back to watching through the window.


    Kal- "Quiet something doesn''t feel right."


    He watched as the woman drew closer her happiness growing with every step. But then something drew his eyes. For a split moment right as the woman passed a room he saw a pair of eyes. These eyes were bloodred and gave the feeling of watching prey walking into a trap. Then they were gone. Kal knew those weren''t all the "eyes" in that hallway and when the door is opened he will die.


    He pulled out his short sword and placed it between the handles. To be on the safe side he also took a sheet from his inventory that he stole from downstairs and tied the door shut.


    Cyn seeing his actions was disturbed was he leaving her to die?


    Kal- "Cyn be really quiet this may be a trap."


    Hearing his grave tone she complied. Kal pulled out a cellphone and activated its flashlight feature. He then placed the phone flashlight facing toward the glass. Moving closer to the window he shined it through. What he saw made him regret looking. The place was a wreck mangled and destroyed corpse were pierced into the walls and ceilings. Their chest cavities were ripped open all organs gone. But that wasn''t the worst part. Right on the other side of the doors were a dozen humanoid figures. They were on the walls and ceiling just sitting there with their eyes closed. They had leathery looking gray skin, and long black nails. Each was about the size of an adult.


    When Trisha saw all of them she froze. Tears pouring down her face, this time no happiness was in her eyes just fear.


    She started moving again this time more slowly.


    Kal had no idea what the hell those things were since even with the cellphone it was still to dark to see their names.


    Cyn- "Kal can we save her?"


    Her voice was pleading. She obviously didn''t want to leave the woman to her fate. But Kal had already locked the door from their side there was no way he was going back on that decision. Whatever those things are they make the spiders look like cute bunnies.


    However he may be able to do something. He picked up the phone and found the note app. He wrote in bold letters TRAP! and placed the phone back this time with the screen out. Trisha saw the message and looked around trying to see it but coming up with nothing she continued. As long as the things were sleeping and she made it to light she was safe.


    Kal saw her continue and frowned. Great another stupid woman.


    Kal- "Shes done for let continue upstairs."


    Kal turned and started up the stairs.


    Cyn- "No."


    He spun and looked at her.


    Kal- "What!?"


    Cyn- "You killed all the spiders helping her should be simple. So I will not continue until we at least try."


    Kal-"What are you suicidal now!? The spiders were stupid these things planned this. Let me spell this out for you. Those ones in the front in the hallway are to scare away any who approach at least that''s the way it seems. The thing is this is the only exit out of that floor. They knew that the only way for whatever humans still lived was to come this way. The slightest noise will wake them, Had I not shined that light and showed her them she would have probably made some noise in her haste. Here''s the thing though look at the bottom of the door. See that blood? Well when I noticed it I found it odd all the others look like they were planted in one spot but for some reason there is no body wanna know why?"

    Cyn was staring at him. She couldn''t guess.


    Kal- "Look through the window at the handles on that side."


    So she did. After doing so she ran to the corner and vomited again. Because in the handles on the other side was an entire human corpse shove through them.


    Kal had figured the things plans out quick. They knew the humans had to come out eventually and this was their only way. So they took out the lights and hid in the darkest parts of the hallway and waited.If for some reason they made it to the door unseen they made sure the only way was to make noise to get out. Prey was always predictable.


    Cyn -"Then why keep this side locked?"


    Kal- "They can remove their lock."


    Cyn looked at the limping woman slowly coming down the hallway with no idea what was about to happen.


    Cyn-" We have to try."


    Kal-"You don''t get it do you? When that door opens we are dead. When I was looking in there I saw red eyes. I''m sure those eyes saw me as well. Which is why she is still alive. One way or another she is dead. The question is do we join her or leave her?"


    Cyn didn''t care. There was a chance to save someone and she was going to take it.


    Cyn- "To get into the storage room you need a passcode."


    Kal''s eyes narrowed. The fact that she dared to threaten him after all he has done pissed him off to no end. In that moment he thought of just killing her and taking his chances.


    Kal- "This is the only chance I am taking from here on. After you will tell me the passcode and you will not threaten me again. Otherwise you can escape on your own."


    Cyn shrunk back at his dark tone. While she stands by her decision she knows now that he won''t take anymore from her from this point on. So she nodded her head.


    Kal pulled his bloodling daggers, walked down, and grabbed his shortsword from the door. Then slowly pushed the dagger through the doors opening. He released the venom in the opening.. At the same time he had Cyn take the sheet away. Kal kept pushing the daggers further and further he estimated the distance and when he got to the spot he wanted he started cutting the body on the other side. With the daggers melting he was able to slowly cut awaythe body like a knife slowly moving through butter.


    Once he was sure he was through he turned to Cyn.


    Kal- "You are going to fling these doors open when I tell you and if I tell you to shut them you do it no questions asked even if she is through. Got it?"


    She nodded. But Kal saw something in her eyes that bothered him.


    Kal stood back and readied his bow.


    Kal- "Now!"


    Cyn yanked the doors open blood and melted guts started spilling across the floor. Kal looked at the approaching woman and yelled.


    Kal- "RUN!"


    Hearing his scream all the creature stirred. Being awoken by such a loud noise enraged the creatures. Dozens of red eyes filled the hallway. Some peering from doorways.


    Kal started shooting right away. He targeted all the ones closest to Trisha and the door. Kal decided to go all out and activated his rapid fire skill. He started shooting arrows faster than he ever thought possible. To any on looker you couldn''t even see his hands pull arrows nor fire them. It was like a machine gun was firing arrows down the hallway.


    Despite his best efforts though the creatures kept coming. Kal wasn''t sure but he thinks he has killed only 2! The rest while taking the arrows still kept coming. All of Kal''s arrows hit a creature yet at best it only stunned them.


    Trisha was getting closer to the door. Trying with all her might to escape the evil creatures behind her. She vaguely recognized the boy shooting at the things behind her but she couldn''t remember who he was. She just hoped he could keep it up.


    As Trisha was crossing the threshold she heard the boy call out something to a woman next to him but she saw that the woman shook her head. Then the boy roared at her and she flinched but continued to shake her head. Trisha wasn''t sure what was going on but decided to put everything she has into one last push.


    When she was clear the woman that she could now see was her friend Cyn closed the door and put a short sword through the handles.


    The creatures slammed into the door shattering the windows. Trisha looked at the boy his face set in an angry scowl. He still continued to shoot at the creatures through the windows.


    Kal was upset. He burned through all his mp and a quarter of his stamina all because Cyn ignored him and left the damn doors open. Now he was sure the creatures will eventually get through as their hands were trying to reach through and grab the short sword so they could get free. Which left Kal with the only option to keep shooting. After killing a few. A roar sounded out down the hall way and all of the creatures retreated. After a fewmoments a face showed in the window. It looked like the others except you could see intelligence in its eyes and It stood on two legs. Kal saw a name.


    Alpha Harvester lv 31 <--- (A.H)


    A.H.- "Why do you struggle humans? You must know that your struggle is pointless?"


    All three of the humans were shocked that the thing could speak. Kal was even more shocked at the level though. It was stronger than the Bloodling Queen!


    Kal- "I will take my chances. But I don''t seem to be the one struggling now do I?"


    The Alpha looked at the boy in front of him. He saw the previous skills he displayed. All of his children had at least one arrow in them and not a single arrow missed. From his count the boy managed to kill 9 of his 23 children and this brought rage to the Alpha.


    A.H.- "I will be sure to make you suffer boy."


    Kal turned to the woman he just saved completely ignoring the threat.


    Kal- "You managed a day in there what''s their weakness?"


    Hearing Kals demanding tone Trisha jumped and turned to him.


    Trisha- "L-light. Their eyes can''t take too much light."


    Kal smirked. He then pulled out a few more cell phones. Due to all the dead downstairs he was able to get quite a collection. Then on each phone he activated their flashlight apps. Tossing two to each of the girls he turned toward the Alpha and smiled.


    Kal- "So asshole are you still confident? "


    Kal then shone light in his eyes. The Alpha roared in pain and backed away. Kal then placed the phones in the window and had the girls follow suit.


    Kal-"By the time those batteries die we should be leaving this hellhole. You two head on up. Cyn fill her in."


    The girls nodded then went up the stairs. Kal turned back to the windows. He looked down the hall and saw red eyes glaring at him. He smiled and gave the harvesters something to worry about.


    Kal- "Let me tell you a secret."

 Chapter 8

    Kal was chuckling to himself as he made his way up the stairs.


    Kal- "The look on that bastard''s face was priceless!"


    Kal had quite a few plans and sharing one with the Alpha Harvester made him happy. The Alpha not so much.


    As Kal was headed up he decided to see if he missed any windows. Much to his surprise he didn''t.


    Kal- "The hell? Those things were definitely stronger than the spiders and the orc what with the lack of levels? Were they actually weak and the Alpha was strong? "


    Kal was basing this all on looks. Since he never saw the level of the weaker harvesters he assumed they were stronger than what he has faced and thus should have netted him a level or two. But what he forgot was he killed over a hundred spiders, a few orc, and the spider queen and is only level 10! With this its easy to guess at how slow one actually levels. Kal though only has knowledge of older games. Normally back then after the amount of enemies Kal has killed he would be a much higher level. Had he played any of the newer more hardcore games he wouldn''t be thinking this way.


    When Kal finally reached the next floor he looked up to see both girls vomiting in the corner. He sighed and shook his head. Afterall they are doctors for fucks sake! He knows that he would barely hold it together but can''t help being annoyed at the scene as he is sure it isn''t good for stats.


    Before he could rebuke the girls though a screen appeared in his face.

    The girls weren''t paying attention to Kal as they too received the information. Kal was slightly happy at that as they may have been suspicious if they saw his actions and expression. Kal thought back to the title if he cant remove it fine, but that 83/999 if his guess was right then thats how many one shot kills he has.


    Kal-"I wonder what happens when I get to 999?"


    He decided to table that for now as he has things to do. So he walked up to the girls with an angry expression on his face.


    He grabbed Cyn and spun her towards him. Trisha was startled and raised her sword.


    Kal-"The passcode now!"


    Kal''s tone held only anger. He was pissed, she forced him to help save the woman, he was even more pissed she ignored him when he told her to shut the doors when he was sure that the harvesters would get through. Now he was pretty much done with her he would no longer risk himself for others nor would he go out of his way to save her.


    Cyn knew she made him angry but she wanted to save her friend and they did! So she would take his anger. Trisha on the other hand.


    Trisha-"Hey kid I don''t know who the hell you are but if you don''t let her go we are going to have problems."


    Seeing Trisha level her sword at him his eyes flashed red. His bloodlust skill activating making both women step back in fear.


    Kal- "Point that sword at me again and you will wish you stayed with the monsters."


    Both women were terrified by him at this moment and believed his words.


    Kal- "Now the damn passcode!"


    Cyn told him the code. She had pushed the young man far too much. She could see the disdain he felt for them.


    Having gotten what he wanted Kal walked over and pulled out the short sword in the handles and passed it to Cyn. He remembered she still had no weapon and since his daggers are far better he has no need for it anyway. Opening the door the smell of death smashed into them.


    Everywhere you looked in the hallway was blood, guts, and various body parts.


    Kal- "Every door we pass shut. Do not ask why just do it."


    Hearing his words the girls decided it was best to follow them. When Kal got slightly ahead Trisha walked over to Cyn after she closed a door.


    Trisha-"Ok what''s going on? I know you and you would never take shit like that from any man especially not a fucking kid."


    Cyn turned to her and glanced in Kal''s direction.


    Cyn- "His grandparents died two floors down. He came to save them but ended up with me. I ended being a bother shortly after and kept making him angry. After I threatened him to help you he gave up on me."


    Trisha- "Wait he was going to leave me to those things!?"


    Seeing Cyn nod Trisha grew angry. How could he leave her to those things especially when he saw what they do to people?


    Trisha- "We need to ditch this kid and work on our own."


    Cyn- "He is our best bet on making it out alive trust me putting up with his anger is a small price to pay."


    Trisha didn''t look convinced but nodded anyway she was going to keep her eye on the brat. The two of them heard the sound of feet and raised their weapons.


    But all they saw was Kal sprinting toward them behind him a horde of bodies.


    Kal- "RUN!"

 Chapter 9

    Kal was moving slowly down the hallway. He was a little more worried about this floor because its one of three that connects the hospital. The hospital is divided into two 20 story buildings. With three floors that connect the two. The first floor, the 10th floor, and the 20th floor. Which means the floor he was currently on was a whole lot bigger compared to the floor his grandparents were on.


    On each of the connecting floors there would be lounges, cafeterias, and doctor resting areas for those who had to stay days at a time. The hospital put quite a bit of money into making sure their patients and staff were comfortable which is why Kal allowed his grandparents to stay here.


    But while this was a good thing in the world before now though this makes these three floors huge areas that enemies can hide more easily.


    Kal came up to the doors that led to the lounge and help desk. Since he has to cross this area to get to the medical supplies he does a quickcheck through the doors windows. He has to try hard though as the windows are covered in blood. Much to his surprisehe sees the outlineof people. But there was something off.


    Kal eased the door open quietly and was assaulted with the smell of blood and death. Making sure not to gag on the smell he looks around the room and has to try hard not to vomit. The people he saw were eating other people.


    Zombie lv 9


    Seeing the name on top of the once humans made Kal slightly afraid. A monster apocalypseis one thing but if you add zombies thing get much worse. If these things get out into the world now people would have to worry about something other than just monsters. They would have to worry about infection and whether or not someone will turn.


    Kal pulled his bow and started taking them down. Even without his rapid fire skill his rate of fire was impressive. He started dropping bodies with one shot to the head. It was fairly easy as all of the zombies were distracted with their "food" to even notice him.


    After about 15 kills or so Kal remembered the girls.


    Kal-"Damn I should probably leave a few for them. After a couple of kills they should gain a few levels and be far more useful. Trisha should be a somewhat competentfighter since she was already at 4 but Cyn was completely useless at 0 so It should be for the best."


    With a mental sigh Kal turned to go open the door and get the women. But as he was opening the door he felt something grab his leg. He looked down and saw a mouth closing in on his foot. Startled he panickedand slammed his other foot downon the zombies head. Crushing it with a sickeningly wet sound. However due to using this he lost his balance and fell making a loud bang as he hit the floor.


    Getting up and letting out a short curse Kal looks around and freezes. Dozens of eyes are fixed on him. He sees all of them get to their feet and then... They sprinted at full speed at him.


    Kal- "Fuck you, George!"


    With that he hurries through the doors and down the hall hoping to get back to the stairwell. Hearing a crash behind him he hopes that the horde is stopped. But his hopes are crushed as he see them push them open. Even worse more zombies are coming from other hallways and doors. Kal spots the girls and sees them of all things talking!


    Kal- (Stupid Girls!) "Run!"


    He sees the girls look at him blankly and then they spot the horde behind him. They hastily get up and try to retreat but are stopped by a few zombies coming out from the rooms behind them.


    Kal swears.


    Kal-"I gave you one fucking job!"


    Seeing thatthe exit is now blocked the girls make their way toward Kal hoping he has a plan. In the middle of them is a hallway that lead to the cafeteria. Kal wanted to avoid this way as it seemed like a good area for creatures to hide but now he has no choice unless he wants to get eaten.


    He and the girls arrive at the hallway at the same time and head toward the cafeteria at the end. Kal spots a few zombies but puts them down quick. Trisha even took down a couple and Kal saw a flash of blue when Cyn stabbed one in the head. But she lost her short sword in its head.


    When they finally make it to the cafeteria they try the doors and notice they are blocked on the other side.


    Cyn and Trisha started to panic. Trisha turned to Kal.


    Trisha- "Do something! You got us into this mess now get us out!"


    Kal was a little pissed at her words. While it may be his fault they wouldn''t be trapped if the girls would have closed all the doors like he said. Instead they were having a lovely chat. He decided not to voice this as the situation was pretty bad. But later the girls were going to know his anger.


    He looked at the door and used his full strength to give it a push and felt it budge slightly. Under normal circumstances this wouldn''t be possible but Kal is no longer normal. While he may not have invested in strength it was already quite impressive for his level.


    Kal-(I wonder if I combined my strength with my rapid fire skill the speed should give me enough strength to force open the doors. Plus the Bloodling Daggers should give me an extra boost. That or get my foot stuck but the doors are metal so lets hope they hold.)


    As Kal was about to start his plan he saw someone through the doors window. (Yes these have windows too have you been in a hospital?) The man was wearing a white lab coat so he had to be a doctor of some kind. He had dark hair, light skin, and was fairly well built. Pretty much your stereotypical handsome doctor. Kal hated him on principle.

    Kal- "Open the door!"


    The man looked behind Kal and his eyes widened. He looked back at Kal and gave him a sad look. Kal knew what that look meant.


    Kal- "Open the door or I will!"


    Kal''s voice was full of dark promise. If he had to open the door he was going to make that doctor suffer if he survived. But the doctor just looked at him and shook his head.


    Kal looked back at the horde that was closing in. He lifted his leg activated his skill and slammed his foot into the door.


    All the stuff blocking the door was flung back into the doctor and ended up in a heap at the other side of the room. Kal and the girls rushed in and shut the doors. Since the locks were broken now they had to hold them shut.


    Kal took a peek at his mp and stamina and cursed. His mp only recoverd to 10 and his stamina was at 22/46. The running burned more stamina than he thought.


    His thoughts were if his mp was high enough he could try to take out the horde. While he could have done that from the start with his bow and rapid fire skill he didn''t because if the leader was present he was screwed. If he killed it he would be weaker. If he didn''t his stamina would be gone and he would die. Neither was an option he was willing to take.


    He looked around the room and saw more people. 5 women and 3 men. He noticed the distinct lack of blood around the cafeteria and wondered how fast they ran when shit hit the fan.


    Kal felt when the horde slammed into the doors. The girls and Kal could barely hold them back. In fact Kal could see his stamina dropping just doing so. Which means the girls would fall first and then he was screwed. Kal looked over at the other people who now had terrified looks on their faces.


    Kal-"Get something to block the fucking door idiots!"


    Startled by his voice they all hurried through a door and came back a few moments later with a thick chain.


    Kal- (Glad they weren''t bright enough to use that the first time.)


    The people hurried by and started tying the chain around the handles and then sealed it with a lock. Kal and the girls let out a breath of relief.


    Moving away from the door and to a table Kal sat down and pulled out something to eat from his inventory. Getting his stamina and mp up is now a priority. He heard a sound of someone moving and looked over to see the doctor from before crawl out. He had blood dripping from his head and was giving Kal a glare. Kal returned it with a smile.


    Kal- "I warned you."


    Was all he said before he went back to eating. The doctor continued to glare at the boy in front of him. They almost died because he wanted in and thats all he says! Then his eyes shift to the other two newcomers.


    Doctor- "Doctor Evans!? Doctor Pierce!?"


    Both girls look over at their names being called.


    Cyn- "Doctor Dent?"


    Kal watched the girls go over to the man and ignored their conversation instead he looked at the other people present. 2 looked like cafeteria workers. Both were women. One was a male nurse. The rest were wearing white coats like Doctor Dent. Despite everything all of them looked pretty damn good despite getting stuck with the zombie floor. But then again zombies arent to bright.


    Kal used observe and saw that all of them were level 0 besides the asshole bleeding on the side. His level was not to bad at 6.


    Kal- "Hmm so out of everyone here you are the only one with balls."


    All the people in the room looked at him.


    Doctor Dent- "What do you mean by that?"


    Kal- "Whoops didn''t mean to say that aloud. Anyway what I mean is you are the only one who doesn''t look weak the rest appear to not have killed yet."


    Not willing to tell the truth about his skills he says it like this.


    The doctor looked at him in surprise.


    Doctor Dent- "I have been a gamer my whole life and when I first saw the blue screen I knew what to do right away. I tried explaining it to these guys but they were unwilling to kill. They saw them as ill patients."


    Kal saw him point to a couple of doctors. The rest he assumed were here first. As they didn''t look guilty.


    Kal- "Yea well if they want to live they need to end that thinking now as zombies are the least of our worries in this fucking place."


    After a brief story of everything both parties went through Kal sat still pondering. He needed a way out. Dent got lucky as he used a scaple to just stab every corpse along the way putting everything into strength. The others were people he picked up on his way here.


    Trisha''s story got to Kal though. Apparently only the men were killed down there. The women had a worse fate. They were to constantly give birth until they die. Which means currently there were still survivors down there but Kal had no intention of saving them. The Alpha was too strong and he had other plans that needed to happen regardless.


    The other people were horrified at her story but Kal wasn''t. He knew what this place really was. When Cyn told her story everyone looked at Kal with a new light. But he didn''t care he had no need for their approval.


    While looking up and pondering what to do next he saw something that brought a smile to his face.


    Kal- "So who wants to leave today?"

 Chapter 10

    Kal had a plan it was a simple one but one that he was sure to work.


    Kal- "All of you are going to escape using the vents."


    All the people in the cafeteria looked at him as if he was stupid. How could something so cliche work? Kal seeing their looks got a little irritated continued to explain.


    Kal- "You know for a bunch of smart people you guys are fucking stupid. The vents will work because they were designed to hold the weight of a person. Otherwise how would the contractors get up there to fix things? Also each of the vents on every floor leads out into the stairwell. So long as you guys don''t put to much weight in one section the vents will hold and you can make a break for the first floor. Questions?"


    Kal looked at them as if they were children in a classroom. The people seeing this were upset but chose not to say anything as he did just kick open a barricaded door with one kick. Dent on the other hand, did have a question.


    D.Dent- "You saidyou guys when talking of this plan does that mean you are not coming with us?"


    Kal gave him an amused look and replied.


    Kal- "Nope. I have some stuff to get on this floor and your presence would cause far to much trouble."


    All the people gave him mixed looks the cafeteria group was mixed between confusion and crazy. While Cyn and Trisha''s were knowing looks. Since they knew why he came to this floor in the first place.


    Cyn- "We will go with you-


    Kal- "Not a goddamn chance!"


    Kal said this as harsh as he could and watched the people in the room flinch back from him. Seeing the hurt look in Cyn''s eyes and the look of anger in Trisha''s he laughed.


    Kal- "You have fucked up far too much for me to even bother trusting you again. Or did you forget that the reason we are trapped in here is because instead of shutting the doors like you were told you decided to have a chat!"


    Cyn looked to be on the verge of tears. She knew he was right. All she has done is aggravate and endanger him ever since he saved her. But is there a need to be this upset?


    Trisha seeing the look on Cyn''s face hadhad enough.


    Trisha- "Who the fuck do you think you are kid!? What right do you have to talk to her or any of us this way!?"


    Kal looked at her and laughed long and hard.


    Kal- "Who am I? I am the person who saved both of your asses. I am the person who just came up with an idea to save your asses again. So the next time you bring up that tone be sure to remember that."


    Dent- "Or what?"


    Seeing that the Doctor wanted to stand up now made Kal''s anger finally tip. His eyes turned red and his bloodlust skill activated.


    Kal-"This conversation is over get your asses in the vent now!"


    His voice was filled with venom and all the people there backed down. They all feared this boy at that moment.


    After some maneuvering, all the people slowly got into the vent at about 6-foot intervals. When Cyn went through she mumbled an apology. When Trisha and Dent went through they gave him a glare and hoped he died in here.


    Kal just looked on with indifference. He had no obligation to these people and now he saved them and here they are judging him? Well fuck um.


    After they were gone he made his way to the kitchen. His plan was to take everything. He made dozens of pots of coffee, a few gallons of tea, and as many smoothies as possible. After that he started cooking everything. Due to the fact that everything was made in bulk here he was putting huge pans of pasta, chicken, mashed potatoes, stew, etc into his inventory.


    He didn''t want to waste too much time so he only cooked the items that didn''t take long. After that he cleaned out the fridge and the snack machines of which there were 7 this time around. At this point Kal''s inventory was fat with food. Seeing this brought a smile to his face.


    Kal-"Idiots. They left and only took some water and a few bags of snacks. They left me a treasure trove. The fact that they weren''t even thinking about food makes them failures and my decision to rely on myself right."


    At this point Kal wrote off the people who left as soon to be deads and went back into the dining area.


    Kal-"Now time to farm a bit."


    He walked up to the doors with the zombies still banging on it and pulled out his daggers. He wanted to try and get some kind of mastery skill with them that way he wasn''t relying on his bow all the time.

    Seeing this he had mixed feelings. While gaining a level was good at this point he would much rather have the skill since they seem to be far more crucial than levels. Although the fact that he had gained 3 stat points instead of two this time was a much appreciated bonus.

    Seeing the last 5 stat points Kal decided to put them into int and wis. He wasn''t sure what wisdom does yet but putting 1 point every now and then couldn''t hurt. The other four went to making sure his mp would last longer.


    After finishing up with his stats Kal decided to try for the loot. He could see a few vials and other things through the gap between the doors. And now since there are a stack of bodies in front of them he wanted to try and grab a few.


    He tentatively reached through and started grabbing what he could. He almost got bit a few times in the process but managed to grab several coins and 3 vials.

    Kal was stunned at the sight he had three of these and they greatly restore 1 of three stats. Although the blindness is a bit much the other two weren''t as bad. 1 caused infertility for 3 months while the other caused lack of feeling.


    If he was lucky these potions could be life savers.


    After pocketing the potions Kal wanted to go back to stabbing more zombies to try for the skill but then he heard a loud sound slowly coming down the hall.


    He looked over the crowd and his mouth dropped open. Down the hall had to be hands down the biggest motherfucker he had seen yet.


    It looked to have been a man at one time. Its entire body was muscle that had huge yellow bumpsacross them. It had no neck and its mouth would put a grinning shark to shame. Its shoulders spanned almost the entire hallway and it was almost taller than the ceiling.


    Hulk Zombie lv 26


    Kal- "Oh fuck that!"


    Kal whipped out his bow and took aim. He knew killing it would be a bad idea but the system said nothing about crippling.


    Activating his rapid fire skill Kal let loose on one of the things legs. His arrows flew like and unending line. At first they just bounced off the thing but slowly the started to cut through. Kal could see flesh being slowly stripped from the thing as it waddled down the hall toward him.


    When it was halfway Kal ran out of mp. So he started burning stamina. When his stamina got down to 20 he had to stop as he still needed to escape himself. But as luck would have it what he did was just enough as the next step the thing took a loud crack could be heard as the leg he had been shooting at snapped and the Hulk fell forward.


    Seeing this sight Kal wanted to cheer but his joy was immediately canceled when he heard a roar and zombie bodies started flying.


    Kal- "Are you serious!?"


    Staring down the hall Kal could see the thing moving faster than when it was walking! Using its hands to propel it self down the hall.


    Taking no chances Kal ran back into the kitchen for some final preps then jumped into the vents as the Cafeteria doors exploded open.


    Not even looking back he headed for the storage area to get when he came for.

 Chapter 11

    Kal slowly moved through the ventilation system. He wanted to make as little noise as possible, he wasn''t a hundred percent sure that the Hulk zombie was alone. If there did end up being another one and it heard him it would be simple for it to tear down the vents and then Kal would die.


    Currently he was crossing the lounge area he came to the first time. He peered out and saw that a few zombies were mingling around. Resisting the urge to snipe them from his position in the vents he continued on.


    Finally he makes it to the area he needs to be at. Peering out he checks for zombies and then using his Bloodling daggers melts away the grate in front of him. This way there''s no noise. Making his way to the supply room was fairly simple. Along the way a couple of zombies were "eating" and Kal stabbed them in the head as he moved on.


    As long as he has the daggers equipped his speed is unmatched. Even if these zombies can sprint Kal is still much faster. When he gets to the supply room he finds 4 zombies shambling outside holding pieces of flesh to their mouths. Taking care to be as quiet as possible he comes up behind them and burning 1 stamina activates rapid fire and stabs each in the head faster than the eye can see.

    Kal snorted at the screen. Then turned his attention to the supply room. After removing the severed hand from the panel he put the code in for the room. He opens the door and walks in. A smile crosses his face.


    Kal- "Jackpot!"


    Currently in the room is every single drug he has ever heard of and then some. There were iv bags, saline bags, etc. This place was a gold mine. Without missing a single item Kal put everything in his inventory. He even took the medicines that were in little fridges like insulin.


    Walking out of the room with a satisfied expression he looks around to make sure there are no zombies.


    Kal- "Hmm going back to the stairwell will be a bit hard. I could take the vents but I don''t want to risk another one of those big fuckers. Hmmmm......!!!"


    While pondering Kal notices the elevators.


    Kal- "If I remember right there should be an access ladder inside. I can use that to get down to the first floor."


    With a plan set he starts toward the elevators but then he notices the blood storage room. He thinks about it and then decides it may come in handy to have spare blood. So he puts in the code from before and tries the door.


    The door sticks.


    Kal-"Different codes huh? No matter that''s what these babies are for."


    Grabbing his daggers Kal cuts through the lock and opens the door.


    A loud banging alarm goes off.


    Kal- "Fuck me!"


    He hurries and starts throwing as much as he can into his inventory and sprints out of the room. When he makes it to the elevators he hears a crash and looks back.


    And wishes he didn''t. Coming down the hall was the previous horde plus 2 Hulks.


    Kal jams his fingers in between the elevator doors and starts pulling with all hes got. When the doors finally open Kal thanks himself for putting stats toward strength and jumps toward the access ladder.

    After he got down two floors he heard something whoosh past him. Then another and another.


    Kal looked up and saw what was falling.


    Kal-"Those stupid fucks are jumping on their own!"


    As one was falling it reached out toward him and scratched him down his back. Kal almost lost his grip. He then wrapped his arms around the ladder and held on waiting for the zombies to stop. After what seemed like and eternity they did. With a quick look up Kal could see why. One of the hulks was blocking the entrance and trying to get through!


    Kal started going down as fast as possible because if that thing got through it would hit him on the way down and then he was screwed.


    As he was hurrying down he caught sight of the elevator. It seemed to have stopped on the third floor as Kal was on on the 7th he was delighted. Soon if he could get inside the elevator he would be safe.


    Screeeeeeeeeeeeee!!


    The sound of tearing metal could be heard from above and Kal''s face paled. Instead of climbing he just jumped. There was no way he was dying in an elevator shaft!


    He landed with a hard smack. He felt a tingle run through his bones but other than that he was okay. He took a quick look and saw quite a few bodies stacked on top of the elevator. In fact he landed on some which is probably why he wasn''t hurt.


    Screeeeeeeeeeeeeee!


    Hearing the sound again Kal looked up and what he saw frighten the hell out of him. The Hulk zombie was almost through!


    Wasting no time Kal started moving bodies out of the way looking for the hatch to get in the elevator. Finally finding it he hurries and uses his daggers to pry it open and just as he is about to slip inside he takes one last look up and sees the Hulk Zombie 4 floors up and all the blood leaves his face.


    Moving as fast as possible he dives in the hatch right before the hulk impacts. Kal slams face first into the floor of the elevator and almost blacks out. The impact broke his nose and split his head open. With blood running from his head and nose he pulls some bandages and starts to go to work on himself. During the process though he hears a slam on the roof.


    Kal-"Oh you have got to be kidding me! That thing isn''t fucking dead yet!?"


    The pounding starts to get louder and louder and Kal sees dent starting to form in the roof. Kal stops treating himself and starts to pry open the doors. Hoping to get out before the Hulk gets through.


    Kal-"This whole not killing leaders is complete bullshit!"


    As He almost had the doors open a creature walked in front of Kal it had an axe raised above its head and was about to swing it down. Kal jumped back and dodged the attack. The doors closed and he saw the axe cut clean through the doors like butter.


    Kal-"Fuck! Now what am I supposed to do!"


    He didn''t have to think long because Kal forgot there wasn''t one Hulk zombie there were two and the second one just jumped.


    When the second Hulk hit the elevator the lines holding it snapped and the elevator smashed on the ground floor.


    Kal got up in a daze he smacked his head yet again and wasn''t feeling so good. He wouldn''t have even moved if it wasn''t for the pounding above.


    Gratefully the elevator shaft he chose didn''t go down to the basement otherwise he would have been lost. But knowing where he was he pried open the door and crawled out.


    As he was coughing out some blood he felt a green glow surround him. He looked up.


    Kal- "Aw man."

 Chapter 12

    The slime was like a giant blob of green with one white orb in the middle and two black dots near the top which Kal took to be eyes of some kind.Seeing this Kal pretty much felt he was done for. That is until he saw it move toward him. The slime was slow as hell!


    Kal pushed off the floor and rolled out of the slimes way. But the slime didn''t stop it continued toward the elevator.


    Kal-"The hell?"


    Then Kal heard a smash and a screech of metal and saw one of the hulks slowly coming out of the elevator. When the hulk laid eyes on him it started thrashing try to break free. But in the next moment the slime engulfed it.


    Kal watched as the Hulk zombie slowly disintegrated. Somehow Kal could tell the slime was content especially when the other hulk jumped into it.


    Kal-"So never get caught by a slime. But it seems to be uhh full? So I should be good if that''s the only leader here."


    Kal''s first thought was to check around but it was oddly quiet. There were a few green glows here and there which he took to be other slimes but they didn''t seem to care about him. Shrugging he decided it was best to get some more food so he headed for this floors cafeteria. He casually walked around the first floor seeing slimes here and there but any he got close to either shirked away or held still. Walking up to one Kal saw what looked like a shiver.


    Acid Slime lv2


    Kal-"Could it be that since I am a higher level they fear me?"


    That was actually the case in this instance. Most creatures understand when a predator is near and to the slimes Kal was predator not prey. But it wasn''t entirly his level his stats were also a factor in this. He pretty much oozed strength to these little slimes. The slimes knew that even if they fought all together this human would kill them all and thus chose to hide or do nothing hoping to be spared.


    Seeing that none of the slimes wanted nothing to do with him Kal chose to leave them alone as well.


    Kal-"No point in kicking a hornets nest. Especially since these things probably wouldn''t give me anything decent."


    As he made it to the cafeteria he found more slimes. But like the others they did nothing. After cleaning out this cafeteria and making his preparations he decided it was time to leave.


    On his casual walk to the front doors Kal shot a quick look at the greater slime as he walked by. He could see that some of the dead bodies from the roof of the elevator had fallen in and were being eaten as well.

    Kal-"So slimes get stronger by eating? Well at least this one is not a problem."


    As hecontinued on Kal finally approached the front doors to the hospital. He walked through them and headed toward the parking lot out front where he saw some familar faces.


    Kal-"Huh so you guys didn''t die."


    He stated it in a way that he fully expected them to die. Which to be fair he did. Hearing his uncaring tone all of the people frowned.


    Trisha- "No we didn''t die although it looks like you almost did."


    Seeing the smile on her face made him want to punch her teeth in but he held back.


    Kal- "Yea would''ve been nice to know about the Hulk zombies Doctor D. but I''m sure they must''ve slipped your mind."


    Kal''s tone was icy and full of accusation. Dent decided to look away and mumbled an apology. Kal''s eyes burned red at this.

    Going back to earlier with the alpha harvester.


    Kal- "Let me tell you a secret."


    A.H.- "Sure I''ll listen boy."


    He smiled.


    Kal- "You see I am almost 100% sure none of you can leave your floors at least not on your own. Otherwise why stay here when you could''ve took the whole hospital? I think the orcs were supposed to be a food source which is why the can move around. Now you see this is where the secret comes in. I am the one who killed all the bloodlings and I plan to kill every last creature in this building!"


    Hearing this the alpha started laughing.


    A.H. "You are right currently we can''t leave our floors but that restriction will pass. But killing all the creatures? You are amusing human. This place is protected and anyone who tries to come kill us before we settle in will be punished."


    After that he continued to laugh.


    Kal- "Oh I never planned on killing you directly. But I am sure by indirectly killing you I won''t suffer any repercussions."


    Hearing this the Alpha stopped laughing and looked at the boy this time with a little bit of wariness.


    Kal- "Tell me do you know what gas lines are?....No then let me enlighten you. You see we humans use gas for a lot of different things on this world. One of those things is to cook. You see when gas is exposed to fire it ignites itself. Normally it''s under controlled circumstances but I am planning something much different. I am going to open every gas line I can find on my way out and watch this place go up in flames."


    The alpha''s face filled with horror.

    And Kal did just that. All the preparations he was doing was locating every gas main possible in the cafeterias since those were they only places he was sure had any. And now that he is out well he has to follow through right.


    Taking a cloth from his inventory he wraps it around and arrow pours some alcohol on it then sets it ablaze with a lighter he too from a corpse.


    Taking aim he shot the first arrow toward the 20th floor cafeteria. Everyone in the parking lot watch the arrow fly and when it hit the window on the 20th floor they saw a huge fireball explode out and decimate the area.


    Cyn-"What the hell are you doing! There are still people in there!"


    Kal shot her an annoyed looked.


    Kal-"None of the things in there can be freed all of them have to die. If the people in there haven''t escaped yet then this is a mercy."


    Turning back Kal sets another arrow ablaze and aims at the cafeteria on the first floor. Seeing this the people in the parking lot all try to stop him. Dent tries to tackle him from behind and Trisha comes in from the side followed by Cyn.


    Kal kicks Dent in the stomach and elbows Trisha in the face and she falls back into Cyn. Then he turns back and lets the arrow fly. With another loud band and explosion tears through the air and the first floor catches fire.


    All the people stare in horror at what Kal did. But none of them noticed the tears in his eyes or his next words.


    Kal-"Rest in peace Nana, Papal."

 Chapter 13

    Kal was looking at a blue screen in front of him and was slightly pissed off. He was still sad at finally giving his grandparents a burial and was reliving his memories while watching the fire burn. But then the stupid screen had to ruin his moment.

    The reason Kal was pissed was obviously the first screen. He hoped to avoid any penalty. But what he forgot was in the cafeteria where he shot his first arrow was a one legged Hulk zombie. While he won''t be responsible for any creatures killed in the fire or by falling debris the initial explosion was caused by him and any kills generated from this will be his problem.


    The drop in strength isn''t that big a deal but without the daggers it will drop under 20. Plus he lost the stat points he put into Strength which is annoying.


    The two levels are a nice bonus though as he can try to restore some of his strength. As for the two skills in Kal''s mind there was no choice. He picked Mana Control.


    His reasoning was if he experimented with the skill enough he could probably unlock more skills and even the magic arrow with enough time. After dropping 4 points into Strength he checked over his stats.

    Still upset about the loss in power Kal turned back to watching the hospital burn. Right now he needed to watch the whole place fall before he could move on.


    Dent, Cyn, Trisha, and all the other staff from the hospital only had horror etched on their faces. They all held out hope of coming back and saving anyone still left inside. Especially Trisha as she knew for a fact that the women on the 19th floor were still alive. But now? There was no hope for anyone inside. Escaping down isn''t an option and going up is a bad idea as well. Kal was smart in making sure both the top and bottom burned. If you try and run fire the fire up top the smoke from below will kill you before you reach the bottom. If you do reach the bottom you''ll burn alive. If you tried to run from the fire below and head up all that you would find is another fire. This way there only awaited death to those still inside.


    Trisha stomped up to Kal, grabbed him, spun him around, and slapped him across the face.


    Trisha- "What have you done!" She screamed tears streaming down her face.


    Kal looked at her with anger. His eyes turned pure red with the activation of the Bloodlust skill. Then he backhanded her hard and she slammed face first into a car window shattering it.


    Cyn- "Trisha!"


    She the rushed over to her and looked over her with a bit of worry. Seeing that she only had a few scratches and was unconscious she sighed with relief.

    Everyone looked at him with shock, fear, and anger. Seeing this Kal decided some things needed to be voiced.


    Kal- "There is something all of you need to get through your heads right fucking now! This isn''t the world we know anymore. God fucked us plain and simple. This is a world of the strong survive the weak die! All those people in there had the same chance any of us did. If they didn''t manage to escape thats their problem not mine! I started on the fucking roof and still made it out. I was literally at the highest point in the building and still escaped if others didn''t well then they weren''t meant for this world period. I lost my family in there and I wasn''t going to allow that place to exist! Did any of you even know the name of it?"


    Dent-"Of course we did it was St.****** Hospital."


    Kal- "Aaaaaaaaa wrong! The correct answer was the drum roll please! The Breeding Grounds!"


    Everyone looked at him in confusion. Breeding grounds? How is that?


    Kal laughed at them.


    Kal- "Oh my god all of you are so funny you should see your faces! That''s right folks The Breeding Grounds! Which means none of us were meant to survive no we were supposed to be food and birthing cows for the creatures inside. From the very beginning our new god wrote us off. Now with that said I''m out of here."


    All the people were dazed. If what he said was true then they owed him everything. Without him they would have eventually died and been forced to suffer the fate the new "God" had in store for them.


    Kal decided he needed to try and make it home to find his aunt. So he started to set off. But before he even got out of the parking lot he heard a call behind him.


    Cyn- "Wait!"


    Turning around he gave her a flat look. The others were slowly following her. Dent had Trisha in a fireman''s carry.


    Kal- "What now. If its about coming with me the answer is hell to the fuck no. You have already proven to be a risk."


    Hearing him Cyn had a hurt look on her face. Did he have to be an asshole all the time?


    Cyn- "Did you get the medical supplies?"


    Seeing where she was going Kal laughed.


    Kal- "You cannot be serious."


    The others were looking at Cyn in confusion. As he was obviously carrying only a bow and quiver with odd looking daggers placed in his belt.


    Cyn then turned to them.


    Cyn- "He has a skill that lets him store things. I am not sure how it works but it lets him carry things without the burden of holding them."


    Kal-(That bitch! What the hell is she up to!?)


    Cyn- "And the whole purpose of us going to your floor was to get to the medical supplies room. In short he has most of the medical supplies that weren''t checked out and since the room was restocked that day that means he has a hospital supply of medical supplies."


    She then turned back to Kal and gave him a sad smile. Which froze when she saw his face. At that moment she was sure he was going to kill her.


    Dent-"If thats true it would be best if you hand them over kid. At least we can put them to good use in you would-Ahhhhhhh!"


    At that moment he was cut off as what looked to be a small spear was sticking out of his leg.


    Kal whirled bow drawn and saw the attackers. They were short, green, pointy eared people wearing loincloths.


    Goblin lv6


    There were at least 50 of them all charging at once. Snorting Kal burned 1 stamina and used ten seconds of rapid fire to put down 30 of them like it was nothing.


    Seeing all their comrades drop with one arrow each all in ten seconds made the goblins stop. They were all staring at Kal with fear.


    Kal-"Whats the matter gobbies weren''t you going to attack?"


    All the goblins just stood there staring at him. Anger etched across their faces for their fallen brothers. But knowing that another step forward meant death.


    Kal then saw movement and the goblins started to part. Out from the middle came an older looking goblin with a headdress and a weird staff.


    Goblin Chief Lv 10


    G.C.-"I would like ask spare."


    Kal was shocked that he could speak. But recovered quickly after all the Alpha Harvester could talk far more clearly than this guy.


    Kal- "You attacked first and now you are asking for mercy?"


    G.C.- "You not target. Saw burn building. Females need. Trade?"


    Kal- "Ahh well sorry then all I saw was a bunch of goblins charging toward me and reacted next time think things through."


    Seeing the goblin nod. Kal gives them one last look and moves on.


    G.C.- "Females take?"


    Kal stops and turns back. He looks at the goblins and then at the others. Part of him wants to wash himself of these people but the fact he is still human and had a pretty good guess as to what they wanted the women for decided.


    Kal- "I should let you but I can''t at least not here and now once I am out of sight though."


    He let that comment sit in the air. Both groups eyes met each knowing what he meant.


    Cyn- "You are just going to let us fend for our selves!?"


    Kal- "What I took out like 30 myself I think that''s a more than fair contribution. Plus did you think I forgot at your little attempt at backstabbing me there? So I have a word of advice for you. Run."


    One of the other men ran forward and grabbed Dent then yelled at Cyn they all headed off as fast as they could. Cyn sent me a hate filled look but I ignored it and gave the goblins a look.


    G.C.- "We wait. Til gone then hunt. Thanks given."


    Kal nodded then started down the street. In front of him was messed up cars and dead bodies but he ignored them. He had somewhere to be.

 Chapter 14

    Onyx Ohenwas in a bad spot. Once a fierce and proud person now she has been reduced to such a state. Before coming to this world she was feared and respected. When offered the choice to come to a new world she jumped at the chance as this way her name would sound off on two worlds! But reality was much crueler. During the exchange the gods decided to weaken her and limit her powers. This wasn''t so bad at first as she was still able to handle most creatures but what she didn''t expect were the weapons of this new world.


    Almost immediately after she appeared here in this new world she was attacked by humans wielding strange weapons that fired some kind small metal ball. They didn''t do much more than annoy her at first but then more humans came and started shooting at her. Soon they started getting weapons that fired much faster. After a while she had no choice but to retreat but as she was doing so the humans pulled out a new weapon. This one was in the shape of a tube. When they fired it the projectile left a streak of fire. Thinking it to be some kind of fire magic Onyx dodged it and kept fleeing but much to her surprise the thing followed her.


    The weapon of course was aFIM-92Stinger. This weapon is used by at least 30 countries and uses infrared homing tech. But Onyx being from another world wouldn''t know this. So all she could do was try and stay away from the strange thing that kept following her through the air. However the speed of a stinger missile isn''t to underestimated.


    Before she could try and dodge once again the missile slammed into her side and exploded. Onyx fell from the air and slammed into a building much to the surprise of the office workers inside.


    After that she passed out. When she awoke she found that she had been further weakened and had reverted to a much smaller form. Licking her wounds she made sure everything was in proper order before she went back off. Tentatively she slowly flew through the air checking her surroundings.


    From what she could tell the humans had fought a desperate battle against the beings from her world but mostly lost. Seeing this she went to find a place to nest and find a way to regain her lost strength. The fact that she is in her current form is proof that the gods had one last trick to play on her while she was weakened and she promised vengeanceon them for this.


    With her mind occupied by thoughts of revenge she failed to notice that she had been spotted by Hobgoblins. So she also didn''t notice the arrow that cut through the air until it went into her side at the same spot the stinger hit.


    She screeched in pain and fell through the air in a spiral.

    It had been three days since Kal had left the hospital. He didn''t even spare a second thought for the people he left at the fate of the goblins. What normally would have been a 6 hour walk home has instead taken much longer in fact he wasn''t even a quarter of the way there yet!


    The reason for this is that the entire city has been infested with creatures. The part he is in seems to be under the goblin and orc variants control. He has seen and fought several different tribes. In fact he has come close to death more than once just due to their sheer numbers and some of their leaders are no joke either.


    Just the day before Kal got into a battle with orcs and was putting them down with ease. That is until they all pulled shields and setup a formation. But Kal used his speed and strength to tear through them with hit and run tactics with the Bloodling daggers.


    Seeing that they couldn''t win the orcs started to retreat while yelling something. Then stepping out from a Chase bank door was a hulking monstrosity.


    Ogre Lv 43


    It was huge with a big potbelly. Its arms were the size of tree trunks and its skin was an odd shade of blue. With a club made out of what looked to be rebar, it charged towards him.

    Kal had no intention of fighting the thing. So he took off and hid.


    Now though he was currently inside a Taco bell cooking everything he loved from the menu. He wanted to hit McDonalds and Burger King as well but one was under a goblin tribes control and the other had orcs surrounding it. From the sounds he heard as he passed they were fighting someone.


    Kal decided helping people for some mc nuggets wasn''t worth it.


    Now finishing the last off several dozen country crunch wraps (they were awesome and I miss them). He checked to make sure there was nothing left he wanted in the restaurantthen pulled out a few burritos and a Baha Blast and started eating.


    Halfway through his meal Kal was interrupted by the sound of shattering glass. He sprung up and pulled his bow. Walking to the front of the store where he heard the sound Kal kept an arrow knocked. Walking around Kal found the source of the noise.


    Ferretling lv 5


    Kal-"What the hell is a ferretling?"


    Hearing his voice the ferretling turned to him with alarmed eyes. Tears sprang up as it felt it was finished. But much to the creatures surprise Kal didn''t kill it.


    Instead he went and inspected the creature. You see when Kal was younger he had a ferret named Fluff and he loved it immensely but one day it snuck out and bit a neighbor girl who tried to pick it up. The girls brother then went and stomped on Fluff''s head killing him.


    From that day on Kal never had another pet but he still loved ferrets. So seeing this odd looking one he was immediately captivated.


    The Ferret was pure black with pitch black eyes. It had a pair of furry/leathery wings. Its fur cover its whole body until you got down to its paws where the fur thinned and you could see what looked like scales that lead to claws. On its head was two horns that were similar to deer antlers and in between them was a row of smaller horns four in total.


    In all honesty Kal found the ferretling to be awesome. While looking over it he noticed that it was in pain and saw an arrow sticking out of its side. Seeing this he immediately went forward to help but the creature flinched back and hissed at him.


    Kal-"Don''t worry I am not going to hurt you please let me help."


    The creature at first didn''t trust the human but seeing the warmth in his eyes it who had lived for quite a long time knew when a person was sincere. So it laid its head down and watched the human with caution.


    Kal seeing this moved forward slowly. He bent down and looked at the wound. It didn''t look that good the arrow seemed to be lodged in the ferretlings ribs.


    Not being a doctor of any kind Kal wasn''t sure what to do but he decided to wing it and hope for the best. He pulled out some bandages and some cloths.


    Kal-"I am going to pull this out. Its going to hurt but trust me okay?"


    The ferretling stared at the boy and nodded its head. Kal turned back to the arrow and grasped it. Ever so slowly he pulled it out. The ferretling hissed the whole time. When it was out Kal hurried and wrapped the wound in bandages. The he pulled out some pain meds but remembered something better he pulled out a small health potion instead.


    Kal-"Drink."


    The ferretling seeing the potion was surprised but nevertheless complied. When it finished the potion it sighed in contentment. Then was surprised when the human picked it up and started gently petting it. A little indignant the ferretling struggled but eventually gave in as the humans touch was amazing.


    After a while of holding the ferretling Kal recived a surprise.

 Chapter 15

    Looking at the screen Kal was stunned.


    Kal-"Partners eh? And I would assume your name is Onyx?"


    The Ferretling nodded.


    Kal- "Ok Onyx I will agree to be your partner but I will warn you I plan to cause quite a bit of trouble in the future and you will be dragged into it. Do you still wish to be my partner?"


    Onyx looked at the human boy in front of her and smiled.


    Onyx- (This boy..It seems fun times are ahead.)


    With a nod Kal clicked yes and a partnership was struck.

    Hearing the voice stunned Kal once again. He stared at the mouth that just moved.


    Kal- "Wait took advantage?"


    Onyx- "Hmph! Don''t try to deny it! You picked up a woman and started petting her! If thatsnot taking advantage what would you call it!?"


    Kal- "Petting a cute creature."


    Onyx- "Cute!?"


    Onyx wanted to say more but the words were stuck in her throat. The human in front of her was strange. From the look on his face he obviously has no idea as to what a partnership is really meant for. Seeing his confused look she decided to keep quiet for now. She would tell him later when the time was right.


    Her kind doesn''t make these decisions easily but for some reason she was drawn to this human and decided to claim him before anyone else got to him. She had never accepted another before despite constant suitors but in a short moment with this human all that changed. He was going to be hers whether he knew it yet or not.


    Kal just stared at her in confusion. As a loner he never spent much time with people other than at school or with his teammates. So as far as he was concerned a partnership was a 50/50 deal where the two will protect and look out for each other and become great friends. When it comes to matters of relationships he didn''t know squat.


    At the sound of footsteps both Onyx and Kal froze.


    Onyx-"Oh no the hobgoblins that shot me before must have found us we need to leave!"


    Laughing Kal put her on a table and pulled out his bow.


    Kal- "No worries if it just some hobs I can handle them."


    Onyx watched Kal walk out the front door. Worried she jumped from table to table and went to a window to see what was going on.


    She saw him standing there bow hanging on his side watching the hobgoblins approach.


    Onyx-"What is he doing! The world has just changed he is no match for a tribe!"


    What Onyx didn''t know is during the last few days Kal had slain quite a few different creatures. In fact amongst the tribes a warning was sent out to be wary of a human boy who wields a bow.


    The hobgoblins slowed when they saw Kal. Fear slowly crept on their faces.


    Hob-"We no enemy. Looking for sky beast. No harm intend."


    This wasn''t the first time Kal has seen the tribes in the area scared of him. They all fear what he can do. While he is no match for their leaders. He could decimate the tribes and force them to either submit or die. Even with a powerful leader if it came to blows their chances of living would be small.


    So it was decided no one was to anger the human with the bow.


    Kal-"So you can speak huh? Must be pretty smart among your people huh?"


    Kal learned that all the tribes could speak with varying levels of success but the ones that you could understand were generally important to their respective tribes and killing them causes a major blow to the tribes. Killing all the smart ones would only leave the dumb and even goblin and orcs know the smart survive.


    The hobgoblin stood taller when it heard him.


    Hob-"Yes me Hunt leader. Best at catch."


    Kal-"Well you are not catching the sky beast so go home."


    The Hunt leader frowned at this. The human is protecting a rare prey. The sky beast would bring him glory if he were to bring it back to the tribe.

    Kal- "Let me say this another way."


    With that Kal pulled his bow and shot three arrows all three went into the eyes of hobs and all three died. The hobs were lv 20 but due to Kal''s stats and skills killing them in one shot is no problem.


    Seeing how quick the human took down his brothers the Hunt Leader was angry and snapped at Kal. It quickly put on a helmet and the others followed.


    Kal-(The helmets are new. They must be spreading the word about where I shoot first. I could probably still hit the in the eyes but those wooden shields would probably stop that. Also they seem to be wearing clothes of some kind and I am willing to bet they are made to take an arrow or two. Then theres this hunt leader. Unlike the others who had crappy shields and weapons he is holding what looks to be the bottom of a car door and a short sword with a bow on his back. Hmm this could be a little difficult if I give them a chance. )


    Hunt Leader- "Hand sky beast now!"


    Kal ignored him. He reached back and pulled out his new arrow.


    After Kal burned down the hospital he thought back to when he last check the description on his quiver. So he soaked another rag wrapped around an arrow and put it in his quiver. Much to his surprise it worked!

    Now Kal had an arsenal of flammable arrows at his disposal. Even better after tinkering with his mana control during off times Kal learned a new skill. It was a magic skill called spark.

    The skill had no direct combat usage but when combined with his new Molotov arrows he can rain fire down on his enemies.


    Which is what he planned to do now.


    Kal-"All of you are going to die in three seconds if you don''t leave."


    The Hunt leader snarled at him and charged.


    Kal shook his head.


    Kal-"Moron. Well can''t say I didn''t try."


    Activating his skills Kal started to rain down fire arrows. Due to the delay in activating spark he couldn''t shoot as fast as before but his speed was still far faster than anything the hobgoblins could handle.


    All the ones with wooden shields were the first to fall. The others managed to deflect a few with hammers or pickaxes but eventually they to went down. It must be said that in the span of 1 usage of rapid fire Kal killed all the hobs but the Hunt Leader.


    This wasn''t a problem as he hadn''t planned on killing him with his bow in the first place. Pulling out his bloodling daggers he dodged the hobs charge. He took a quick swipe at the hobs back and heard the sound of metal on metal.


    Kal-(So he has some armor under his clothes. No matter after a few hits with the daggers Iwill eventually get through.)


    The hob didn''t know this and continued to charge at Kal randomly swiping at Kal with his short sword. The hob couldn''t hit him.


    Kal''s agility and dex allowed him to react to every move effortlessly. It can be said that with the daggers equipped Kal''s a bit of a cheat.


    Soon the hob got tired of Kal''s dodging and constant slashes on its armor. It dropped to its knees panting. While Kal had barely used his stamina. With a flick of his wrist Kal slit the Hunt Leaders throat and watch as he bled out.

    Kal was happy after using the daggers for so long now he finally got knife mastery and the bloodling daggers leveled!

    Seeing the new window made Kal frown he thought after leveling they would be a bit more impressive. Also the skill seemed like something he could already do. Which makes it seem even more pointless.


    The increase in dexseems to be the best outcome. He had hoped for the venom to get stronger but just held out hope for later levels. Taking a quick look around Kal gathered up all the worthwhile stuff.


    After a few minutes he picked up a few health pots, some coins, a few rusty weapons (daggers, short swords, spears,etc), and a couple of wooden shields that weren''ton fire. After making sure there was nothing else of value he decided to see if the new skill attached to his daggers was worth anything.


    Lining himself up with a car in the parking lot he held his daggers at ready. At first he didn''t notice it but quickly he realized he was taking a fighting stance!


    Kal-"Could this be from the knife mastery skill? If so then this is great the skill works unconsciously! I never noticed with my Archery skill because I have practiced since I was younger but if this is the case people who have no natural skill and were useless before can become far stronger than before! "


    Getting back into his stance he activates the skill on the daggers. Calling out venom slash in his mind Kal watched as the dagger he was swinging turned pure green as the venom covered the whole blade. But it didn''t stop there the venom continued to expand and the dagger grew to two times its size! The oddest part was that it held the shape of the blade the whole time despite it being venom it looked as sharp as ever!


    When the venom slash hit the car it went through it with ease. The attack didn''t stop there though the venom that built up released like a wave and splattered around the cut until all that was left was the original dagger.


    Kal looked at the dagger in shock.


    Kal- "Holy shit! I thought this was going to be useless but damn if it won''t come in handy! Thank you dumbass hobs. Your stupidity has served me well. Don''t worry I will probably not exterminate you tribe. Probably."


    After giving his thanks to the dead hobgoblins he returned to the inside of the restaurant only to see his new partner staring at him in shock.


    Kal-"What?"


    Onyx-"How!?"


    Kal-"How what?"


    Onyx-"How did you do that! No human should have the skills necessary to defeat a group of hobgoblins singlehandedly! Its far to soon your world has only just changed a few days ago and your level is definitely lower than thereswas."


    Kal- "Hmm well I guess theres no use hiding it but my archery skill is at the expert level plus I have had quite a few stat boosts. But how is it you know my level? Do you have the observe skill as well?"


    Onyx- "As well!? You have the skill!!? Just what the hell did you gothrough!?"


    Kal then started to explain what he went through from the start of the new world by then end of his story Onyx looked at the boy she decided to partner up with in amazement.

    Onyx-"No wonder someone from the human race is as strong as you! After all those boosts handling anything 15 levels higher than you is easy so long as you are at a distance. But to think you burned down a breeding grounds. That is going to bite you in the ass later boy."


    Kal- "Oh trust me that spider bitch is going to pay far more than I will."


    Seeing the dark look in his eyes gave Onyx a sense of pride.


    Onyx- (Seems we share a goal as well. Good then lets see how many gods we can bring down in the future. )


    Onyx kept these thoughts to herself as the boy was in no condition to start challenging the gods but she was going to help him take his best shot when the time came.


    Kal-"What did you mean for a human earlier?"


    Kal asked all of a sudden snapping her out of her thoughts.


    Onyx-"Oh thats right you wouldn''t know. You see humans have the slowest rate of growth out of all creatures. The only benifit of being a human is that you can learn skills pretty quickly but as for leveling and stat growth humans are the weakest."


    Kal-"Im not overly familiar with this but aren''t elves generally the ones with slower growth rates?"


    Onyx- "Pffft who the hell told you that!? Elves are faster, smarter, and more skilled in magic than most races! Not to mention the near immortality that even the most common elf has why would they be given slow growth rates? Hell they are even counted as one of the most beatiful races in creation, compared to humans its like night and day!"


    Kal frowned. He had some serious plans for later in the future and if he grows too slowly he might die later. So he needs to find a way to fix his slow growth or find a way to boost his stats higher.


    Seeing his frown Onyx was a bit uneasy. She hoped she didn''t go too far but the boy needed to understand the limits of humans so he doesn''t get too overconfident.


    Onyx- "I am sorry if this upsets you but it was done this way because humans have a high birth rate and are able to use almost every skill known on top of being able to build their stats through hard labor. This was done to balance the races otherwise humans would be far too powerful."


    Hearing this Kal still found it unfair but at least he has a way now to increase his stats. All this time he was wondering why he was leveling so slowly and now that he has an answer he is somewhat annoyed.


    Kal-(Whatever I will find a way and when I do watch out Chess I am coming for you!)


    After a few tacos the duo went to sleep. Onyx since she already claimed Kal as hers plopped right down on his chest and curled up. She fell asleep with a satisfied look on her face. Kal just shook his head and laid back drifting off to sleep.

    The next morning they headed out heading deeper into downtown. Kal was hoping there wouldn''t be any more trouble as he was quite worried about his aunt.


    Onyx- "So do we have a destination?"


    Kal- "Yea we are headed to my place to make sure my aunt is okay."


    Onyx-"And then?"


    Kal- "Then I start preparing for my revenge!"


    Onyx shivered at the darkness in Kal''s voice. Of course now she understands why he is the way he is but still. That darkness could be a problem.


    With a quick glide she lands on his head and curls up keeping watch.


    Kal chuckled at this and keeps walking.


    After about an hour the duo heard the sounds of screams.


    With a quick sprint to the corner Kal peaked out and saw the commotion.

 Chapter 17

    Kal looked at the commotion and saw about a dozen orcs surrounding 4 humans. Taking a closer look at the humans show 3 were female and one was male. Also each of them was armed with a firearm.


    Kal- "Hah this is totally fair!"


    Onyx looks at him in confusion. Seeing this Kal decides to explain.


    Kal- "That man in the middle there. His name is Julius and he is in the army, infantry to be exact. I know this because he was my seniorwhen I was a freshman. We actually talked a few times since he was a bit of a gun buff and I knew how to shoot. Long story short we kept in touch when he joined the army outta highschool. He should''ve been back for leave around this time."


    Onyx- "What does that have to do with fair?" She asked still confused. Kal got a smile on his face.


    Kal-"First off our infantry is already no joke but this fucker went to special schools in the military and is a monster with a gun now. In short those orcs are fucked."


    Onyx- "They have armor and a numbers advantage. I don''t see how they could win even with your worlds odd weapons."


    Kal-"Ahh but you don''t understand everything yet. You see those girls? They are what he calls his fuck buddies. He is terrified by the terms girlfriend and relationship but still gets around quite a bit. Also he taught each of them how shoot. The fact that they are still alive at this point shows that they learned pretty damn well."


    Onyx- "I am still not wholly convinced. Their levels aren''t as impressive as yours. The highest is only 5 which is the male you are talking about."


    Kal chuckled at this and decided to watch a massacre, the ferretling will see. Wishing he had some popcorn he went back to watching with a bag of chips instead.


    From what he could see the orcs were trying to deal with Julius probably asking him to hand the girls over. Which confused him at first but then he remembered that while the orcs maybe new in the past few days they probably saw quite a few guns being used.


    Since more than 6 million Americans own at least 10 guns or more the chance that these orcs haven''t seen a single one is low. Gotta love Americansand the swiss for or gun ownership. Any country that tries to invade wouldn''t only have to deal with the army the citizens will be damn sure to put up a fight.


    Julius kept a smile on his face when facing the orcs. They may be higher levels but he didn''t seem concerned. After all his twelve gauge shotgun has wiped the smirk off of plenty of arrogant monsters and these ones would be no different.


    With a snap of his fingers all the girls brought up their weapons and fired. Instantlythe orcs were cut down by about half before the girls stopped firing.


    He gave a cold smirk to the orc that was talking to him earlier.


    Julius- "Now I believe you were asking me for something?"


    Kal burst out laughing which made all of them turn toward him. Oynxcould only look in disbelief.


    Julius saw who was laughing and his eyes widened in surprise.


    Julius- "Kal!?"


    Kal-"Whats up my white Mexican."


    Hearing his words Julius let out a chuckle.


    Julius-"Holy shit man I kinda figured you would survive in this shit but to think we would meet so soon! Hahaha this new world is fucked with us at each others back! I''d take you as my battle any day!"


    Kal smiled at this. It was good to hear something like this after these past few days.


    The orcs on the other hand were trembling in fear. Their luck could not be worse. First they run into a group of humans with the odd loud weapons then the Tribe Killer appears! The orc who was previously talking to Julius took a step toward Kal and got down on his hands and knees.


    Orc- "Please spare my brothers! We had no idea was your friend! Please master Tribe Killer!"


    Kal raised an eye at the orcs words. Tribe Killer whats th-

    Kal- "Well that''s an unexpected bonus."


    After speaking he gave the orcs an amused look. None of them were lower than 20 and here they were bowing to him who was only 14. Sure Kal has had quite a few lucky encounters but for something like this to happen is funny. Plus he even got the bonus for ogres when at best he only injured one while killing 20 of its men.


    Kal- "Get out of here."


    Hearing him the orcs sighed in relief and bolted. Seeing the backs of the fleeing orcs Kal couldn''t help but laugh. After the depressing and angry days this was a nice change of pace even if it doesn''t last.


    Julius seeing all that transpired looked on in shock. Then turned to Kal.


    Julius-"What the hell just happened here?"


    Kal- "I have been killing those fuckers for days. Now they prefer to avoid me."


    Julius traded looks of disbelief with his female companions. How are monsters afraid of one person? The only time they have seen any monster wary is when a group of humans were together.


    Julius-"You said you have been killing them for days? How? I don''t see any guns and your bow should stop maybe a group of them."


    Kal- "Let me show you." With a smile Kal pulls his bow and launches a barrage of arrows faster than any gun they currently hold at a parked car. In a matter of seconds the car looks like a porcupine.


    Julius lets out a whistle while the girls stare blankly. Onyx having seen him deal with the hobs wasn''t as impressed but you could still see shock in her eyes.


    Julius- "Man that is fucking scary! Glad your on our side bro. Is this how strong you were before?"


    Kal- "No but I wasn''t a slouch then either." Kal wondered what his reaction would be if he were to use rapid fire?


    Julius- "lol! I''ll bet! Let me introduce you to my "companions"." On that last part he gave Kal a warning look. Since Kal generally teases him about his "relationships".


    Julius- "First off is Myranda." He points to a short redhead with long hair and a pale complexion. She had the look of spoiled princess. She had a nice figure and a great ass, unfortunately the image was ruined by the look she was giving him. Kal figured she was high maintenance before the world changed just from looking at her. Now? Who knows.


    Julius-"Next is Kayla." She was a short skinny chick with short dirty blonde hair. Her figure wasn''t as nice as the last ones. But cute wouldn''t be far off. Adding on the beanie and the way her eyes looked Kal could tell she was from the stoner side of the fence right away.


    Julius-"Lastly we got Simone." This one seemed the most normal outta them all. She had dark hair, wasn''t overly skinny but not fat, and looked okay. She had a bit of a nose but from the looks of her rack and ass Kal could see why Julius liked her. She didn''t have the glazed look of someone who constantly smokes, and she didn''t look like thing were always handed to her. All in all she was the only one he had a favorable impression of.


    With a nod Kal greeted each of them and turned back to Julius. Myranda frowned at this.


    Kal- "I am heading to my place to pick up my aunt you want to come with?"


    Hearing me all the girls look to Julius. He scratched his head and ignored their looks.


    Julius- "I would love to man but first I told these guys I would helo look for their family."


    Kal was slightly disappointed. He wanted to have a person he could rely on travel with him.


    Kal- "Its fine. We can meet at my place later. I will give you about a week before I move on so try not to be too long okay?"


    Myranda gave an angry humph at that. Julius just rolled his eyes. Kal switched on bloodlust for a second and gave her a look. She was terrified and immediately fell on her ass.


    Everyone else took a step back.


    Julius- "Whoa man chill! She doesn''t mean anything by it right!?" He turned toward her and she nodded.


    Kal- "If you do show up man lose all the crap please." Kal kept his gaze on the girl the whole time.


    With a quick nod to Julius, Kal continued down the road. Julius only looked at him in disappointment. He to wanted to travel with Kal but he already made a promise and he was a man of his word.


    Julius- "I will definitely see you in a week man don''t die!"


    Hearing the shout behind him Kal smiles. Then something occurs to him.


    Kal- "Hey why didn''t they say anything about you?" He asked Onyx.


    Onyx- "I can hide myself from those up to 5 levels higher than me. Plus I didn''t want to accidentally get shot."


    Kal chuckled and went into a jog. He needed to get to his aunt before he could make another decision. But at least so far today was a good day.

 Chapter 18

    Kal''s trip toward his home was mostly uneventful after meeting with Julius. With all the tribes scared of losing too many of their own none dared disturb him. Well none besides the ones he passed that were raping women in the middle of the road.


    Kal may not be the most "Kind" person but there are some things he won''t tolerate. Two of which are rapists and pedophiles. And the tribe of hobgoblins were both at that moment.


    All this time he knew what they did with women but didn''t bother to care too much as it wasn''t his problem and he honestly didn''t care but if he sees it so openly he will act and kill them all. The fact that they used kids changed all this for him.


    Kal''s mindset changed from indifference to all the tribes to kill on sight.


    After slaughtering all the hobs on the side of road he moved on. He didn''t care about the sobs and criesof the women who asked him to stay. In his mind he did far more than enough.


    During this battle Onyx actually managed 5 levels as she shot a few fire balls that looked a little more dangerous than Kal''s spark spell. Still the fact that she participated meant the system awardedher with expfrom some of the kills.


    This reminded Kal yet again of the fact that he grows far slower because despite killing all of them he gained nothing.


    Kal- "This will be our hunting ground in the future Onyx." He said as he walked down what looked to be a war torn street.


    She looked at him in surprise.


    Onyx- "Here? Are you sure? You won''t gain much as far as exp goes you know?" She reminded.


    Looking around the street Kal held off on answering her. Something wasn''t right. All the cars were smashed, the buildings looked trashed, and the bridge for the train tracks was destroyed.


    Above all it has been a while since they have even seen so much as a glimpse of orcs,gobs, or hobs. Kal had a bad feeling.


    He decided to pull his bow and started moving a little slower. Onyx sensing somethingstood on his head and started looking around with wary eyes.


    Onyx- "Kal we are surrounded."


    Hearing her he froze and started looking even harder. Peering into the shadows of the buildings he finally spotted movement. It was just the glimpse of a shadow but it was enough.


    To his left was a open field that led to the baseball stadium. To the right is the bus station with a few toppled and destroyed buses. In front was the bridge.


    He wasn''t going to be caught like this. Onyx said that they were surrounded but the field was cut quite regularlyand nothing could hide there so Kal decided to bolt into the field and gain as much room as possible.


    Across from the field where Kal had seen the shadow in the building an arrow flew and struck his previous location. After that first arrow more followed. Arrows were coming from every hidden area. Kal tried to return some fire but wasn''t sure he hit anything.


    Kal- "Shit! Who the hell is attacking us!?"


    Kal sprinted in the field until he reached the center. From his inventory he hurried and pulled out a few car doors. After that match with the hobgoblins outside the taco bell he figured that if they could block his arrows then why not others?

    Now he was happy he decided to do so he hurriedly pull out three and slammed them down in the directions of the arrows making wall he could crouch down behind. With his strength he was able to lodge them in the ground. Then he peered out trying to get a look at whoever is shooting at him.


    Kal-"Onyx you got anything?"


    Onyx-"Yes they are being quite open when they fire now. The shooters are all goblins hiding in the remains of the bridge and buildings."


    Kal-"Oh look who grew some balls. Well no need to disappoint our guests Onyx they came for a fight lets join in on the fun!"


    Kal face turned dark and his eyes were filled with murder. Right away they turned bloodred. While the bloodlust skill had no effect at this range it still activated due to Kal''s mood.


    Onyx- "How? I am the only one that can see them? My attacks aren''t strong enough at this distance yet."


    He gave her a smile.


    Kal- "In this world we have people who are called snipers. They are professionals who deal with taking down enemies from afar but most don''t work alone. They generally have a partner called a spotter."


    He then started to explain what it is a spotter does to her. Hearing what he said amazed her. To think there was such a way to fight.


    In her world snipers were archers who excelled in long distance shooting but here they are far more dangerous if what he is saying is true. While the snipers he speaks of can not match the distance of the ones she knows they are still quite skilled for a world that had no magic or stats previously.


    Nodding that she understood she got ready to give directions.


    Onyx- "First one 600 meters to you left, 4th window up, half a foot from the center!"


    Like that Kal let an arrow fly at her directions and was rewarded with a familiar squeal.


    Kal-"Keep it up!"


    Like that Onyx kept giving Kal directions and Kal kept following them to the letter. A few arrows would thunk into the doors Kal laid but it seems that the archers he was facing had nowhere near his skill.


    After a few dozen arrows no more shots came towards him.


    Kal-"Onyx do you see anymore?"


    Scanning the are area with her eyes she sees a few more shadows but these ones look like they are in retreat.


    Onyx- "There''s a few shadows but there doesnt seem to be anything to-


    She cut her words short as at that moment spilling out from the shadows of the bus station, the ruins of the bridge, and a few buildings were hundreds of orcs, goblins, and hobgoblins. At the back of these were their leaders. Ogres and some tribal looking members who were holding weird staves with skulls. All of them were armed.


    Kal- "So how many am I going to have to kill today!" Kal shouted at the army. He gave the tribes their lives and allowed them to live a little longer. Sure he planned to come back and exterminate them but they didn''t know that.


    With that the army charged toward him.


    Gritting his teeth he got ready for one hell of a fight.

 Chapter 19

    Kal knew he didn''t have a chance of taking on an army by himself. But did that mean he was going to run away?


    This whole time Kal has been collecting stuff he thought was needed for survival now though it seems he is going to need it to kill.


    Grabbing the Molotov arrows and activating spark Kal shot not the approaching army but the field in front of them! But he wasn''t as delusional to think that would in itself work next he pulled out a can of gas and poked a hole in it then handed it to Onyx.


    Kal-"Fly where I shot my arrows. After that fly over the army. We are going to burn as many of these fuckers as possible!"


    Onyx decided to follow his directions and flew over to the line of arrows with the gas can. She made a quick pass and soon there was a blazing trail on the ground separatingthe army from Kal.


    Kal only had a cruel smile on his face when he saw the approaching army stop.


    When Onyx saw what the strange smelling liquid did she instantly understood Kal''s plan and in the moment she felt sorry for the army that banded together to get rid of a common enemy. But even though she felt sorry for them she wasn''t going to ignore Kal''s orders after all she likes him.


    So she flew over the army covering as many as she could in the gas and when she was out dropped the can and flew back toward Kal.


    Kal''s didn''t bother firingon the one''s she covered in gas as he had something far worse in store. The gas was to expand the damage of the next attack.


    Reaching back into his inventory Kal pulled out 3 propane tanks. All of which were full.


    Kal-"As guests to our world I feel I should enlighten you to one of the best parts that most Americansare quite fond of in movies. The explosions."


    With that Kal tossed a tank over the army and took aim with his bow. When the tank was just above their heads he fired.


    A ball of fire shot out and engulfed the tribes. The air was instantly filled with burning flesh and screams. Plus one teenager''s smile.


    But it didn''t stop there due to the gas that Onyx poured over them the fire spread across a quarter of the army. Their howls of agony as they were trying to put out the fire that spread across them.


    This was only the beginning in Kal''s mind. Since they decided to all gang up on him he wasn''t going to go easy. With fire on his mind Kal tossed the last two tanks and shot them as well. The damage wasn''t as bad since the army knew what to expect now but quite a few were picked off.


    The leadership of the army had ugly looking faces. All of them were enraged that one human could cause so much damage. So the magic users of the group got together and started a spell. There was no way they would let a human kill them all.


    Onyx being of a dragons line had the ability to smell magic and when the group started their spell she immediately turned to Kal.


    Onyx- "The shamans are preparing a spell be careful!"


    Kal jumped a little. This would be his first time dealing with magic since the world changed and was honestly a bit worried. So he started up rapid fire and switched to normal arrows. His goal was to mow down a hole and take out the shamans.


    But nothing is ever that easy. The shamans weren''t the only threat Kal had to worry about. The stronger hobgoblins and Ogres took this chance to charge through the fire barely even slowing to wince and attacked Kal.


    There was two Ogres and 30 Hobgoblins and they were closing in fast. Kal had to stop aiming at the shamans and switched his fire to them. However he only picked off a few hobs before the reached him and he had to dodge an Ogre''s attack.


    Kal-"Shit! Onyx take to the air and hit them with what you can!" Kal put away his bow and pulled out his Bloodling Daggers and slit the throat of a Hob who tried to take his arm.

    Kal tried to bounce back while fighting them off but they ended up circling him and he ended up being trapped. Onyx was too low level to do much against these guys she only an annoyance at least for now.


    You see Kal killed quite a few with his fire tactics and Onyx helped so she of course was still gainingexp as the army was burning.


    Her level was soaring and it quickly shot past Kal''s.


    While Kal was struggling to fight off the surrounding enemies the shamans finished their spell. The sky grew dark and black rain clouds filled the air. Rain started pouring down.


    Kal-"All that for a bit of rain that''s kinda sad."


    But he was wrong it wasn''t for just a bit of rain at the moment it started to rain the enemies surrounding Kal retreated. At that moment the sky shone with a bright light and a bolt of lighting shot down right at him.


    Kal- "Fuck me!"


    Having no defense against such an attack Kal closed his eyes and waited for the end. But it never came.


    Confused he opened his eyes and saw he was in some kind of barrier and the lighting was striking it continuously.


    Kal- "What the? Did I gain a new skill?" He asked in bewilderment.


    Onyx- "No this is my doing." She says smugly.


    Looking up he sees her in the air with a faint glow around her the same color as the barrier.


    Kal-" You had this skill all along?"


    Onyx-"Yes and no. The higher level I get to the more of my previous skills I get back and you taking out that large chunk of enemies there helped level me up to 22 which gave me quite the boost in abilities and I gained my barrier magic back. Although I can only do intermediate level spells it still better than what a bunch of two-bit shamans can do." Pride was thick in her voice.


    Kal-"Huh. Nice work. Now if those shamans think a bit of rain and lighting is going to stop my fire plan then they have another thing coming."


    Kal told her to keep the barrier up a little longer even after the rain and lightning stopped. From his inventory, he pulled out his last fire tactic.


    From his inventory, he pulled out a large clear bin, 6 gallons of diesel, and styrofoam plates. His plan was simple he was going to napalm them.


    Pouring the diesel into the container and tearing the styrofoam plates into pieces he threw them in and started to stir. After a bit a sticky looking substance started to form.


    The tribes didn''t know it but they were about to feel some of the worst deaths known. During the Vietnam war napalm was used quite a bit by U.S. troops and was quite effective against crowds. While its purpose was to burn out guerrillas that didn''t mean other uses weren''t as effective.


    When he was finished Kal looked up at Onyx.


    Kal-"Think you can pour this over the army?"


    Onyx let out an amused snort, dropped the barrier and picked up the container of napalm.


    Normally you drain out the excess diesel or gas but Kal wanted it to stay more liquid to pour easier. The army wasn''t dumb When they saw Onyx heading toward them with another container they started to scatter. The shamans were taking potshots with random spells trying to bring her down but she just threw up another barrier and went right into the biggest cluster of enemies drenching them in as much napalm as possible.


    Kal- "Good now use the rest to make another line in the field!"


    Kal wanted to make sure the next time they charged a price would be paid. So pulling out his bow and taking aim at the group who was covered in his homemade napalm.


    Kal-"Time for round two." Then he let his arrows fly.

 Chapter 20

    Rugerkhas lived a long life and seen many things. In the oldworld, he started off as a lowly goblin. When it became known he had the aptitude for magic he was taken under his tribe''s leader who was also their shaman as his apprentice.


    After years of serving under his leaderand being his apprentice, it started to show that Rugerk''s magical potential far outshone that of his masters. His master seeing this started treating Rugerklike a slave. Eventually, Rugerk was framed and thrown out of his tribe as a traitor.


    Vowing to take revenge on his jealousmaster Rugerk set out on a journey. Over time he managed to find another tribe and quickly rose through their ranks becoming their leader in less than a years time. With his new tribe he led them to attack and slaughter his old tribe personally killing his old master. From then on his tribe ruled the entire area.


    When the gods asked if he wanted to take his tribe to a world only inhabited by humans. He said yes without hesitation. He wanted more area under his control plus he had a thing for human females as his kind wasn''t all that appealing to him.


    When his tribe arrived in the new world they immediately set out conquering the weak humans. The humans had strange and powerful weapons but he had magic and strength in his tribe. In the very first day his tribe had defeated all the human in their chosen area and set about building their village.


    But in just three days a human would emerge that would change things.


    At first it was rumors about how a single human with a bow would crush scouts. Then reports started coming in from other tribes that entire warrior squads were destroyed. Finally, Rugerk''svery own tribesmen were assaulted.


    A squad of Hobgoblin hunters led by his very own son was slaughtered. For Rugerkthis was it. How could one human do so much damage?


    He went to other tribe leaders to ask what they wanted to do. He was no fool if this human was truly this strong he wanted to make sure that he wasn''t in the fight with just his tribe.


    After a few days it was decided that an army would form and an ambush would be placed. Rugerk was overjoyed. Now he could get revenge for the death of his son!


    The tribes thought it was a good idea to setup their best archers in hidden area to take care of the human. They thought it would be justice to take down an archer with archers.


    Right now Rugerk thought it was a very very stupid plan. He not only survived the archers ambush he killed all the tribes most elite archers!


    When that plan failed Rugerktold the clans to just charge the human. After all he only has a little flying rat for help. How would he stop the combined might of all the tribes?


    Turns out the human had answer for him.


    When Rugerk watched, heard, and smelled his fellow tribesmen burn alive his jaw almost hit the floor. How was it this human is able to make so much fire without magic!?


    This question was passed around the leaders. But no one had an answer. The Ogre leaders decided to grab the humans attention while the shamans prepared the spell "storm". The spell would provide rain to put out the fires and lighting to take the human out once and for all.


    The plan worked halfway.


    The flying rat that was with the human was far stronger than previously reported. It stopped the lighting that all the shamans used most of their magic for with a single barrier. The rat was then designated as a must kill if they wanted the human.


    Right now the rat was heading straight for Rugerk with another container filled with a mysterious substance. After the last time that the human tried this plan the tribes weren''t going to fall for it again.


    He and all the other shamans threw a barrier around themselves and just let the stuff fall around them. With a laugh all the shamans took a step forward as an arrow covered in fire landed right next to them.


    Before he baked alive Rugerk could only ask how?

    Kal laughed at the sight of the burning army that thought they avoided his napalm. Just because it didn''t hit them directly they thought they would be fine?


    The tribes couldn''t understand what was going on the storms spell rain should be putting this fire out why is it that it is still burning and even rolling on the ground is not putting it out!?


    The goblins surrounded tried to run through it but only managed to catch ablaze themselves. The one who didn''t try and run through it were cooked alive.


    The heat generated by napalm is no joke.Water boils at 212¡ãF. Napalm generates temperatures 1,500¡ãF to 2,200¡ãF.


    With this everyone know that boiling water can do some damage but what about something thats almost 10x the temperature?


    The result was that the tribes were all killed very slowly. The only mercy that they were given was if Kal took them out with his bow.


    Kal- "These guys. They planned out an ambush and thought to kill me but a little knowledge from a certain cookbook and now look at them. Hahahaha this is the best!"


    Kal wiped away another blue screen that appeared before him there would be time for those later. Although quite a few have appeared ever since he burned the first group.


    Since Onyx managed to get most of the leaders with the napalm all he had to do was shoot at the rest of the tribesmen. Making it quite easy for him to rack up kills.


    Onyx herself was shooting down goblin after goblin. She was enjoying all this experience they brought.


    Onyx-"Hmmph to think such lowly creatures as yourself would try to harm wwhat''smine! You all deserve worse!" With that she let another fireball fly at a fleeing goblin.


    What she didn''t know was dying while being burnt alive is one of the worst ways to go.


    The air was filled with screams only this time its not humans. Instead its the ones who attacked the humans. None of the tribes wanted to attack the human anymore. All of them were running for their live.


    Even the surviving ogres thought better of attacking the human and bolted. In moments the field was littered with the burning bodies of the tribes. The smell of burning goblin,hob, orc, and ogre fill the air.

    Kal plopped down and let out a sigh of relief. Onyx came over and settled back on his head.


    Kal- "Man that was one hell of an annoyance.It''s a damn good thing they weren''t all that bright."


    Onyx- "It wasn''t that they weren''t that bright it was more that they didn''t expect such a cruel reaction. Now don''t get me wrong I wholeheartedly approve. But in any normal circumstance this would have been impossible for anyone else. Also I want to make sure to tell you not to let this get to your head. Not all are as dumb."


    Kal laid back in the wet grass and decided to check what he got as far as the blue screens go. The items drops he will just wait until the fires go out.

    Seeing all the screens Kal''s eyes were wide. At this point he wanted to thank all those dead burning bodies!

    Onyx- (How does a human get this much! I understand that this was an army but even veteran soldiers in human armies fighting a war would only reach 20 after 6 months on the battlefield! His rate of growth is comparable to a top class adventurer!)

    After a debate Kal decided to put a 10 into stamina, 2 in con, 5 in int, 2 in dex and agi, and the last 4 in str. Once he clicked accept though he was met with yet another surprise.

    His stamina and mana gained far more than they should have. His only guess as to why would be his current level but other than that he had no clue. Still he was more than happy to accept the boost.


    He then felt Onyx fall off his head and hit the ground. Startled he hurried and picked her up checking to see if she was hurt anywhere. He quickly used observe to check her status and saw that she was just unconscious.


    Sighing in relief he wondered what this was about. But chalked it up to her being tired. Then he set about collecting all the loot.


    What Kal didn''t know was that Onyx literally fainted from reading all of his screens. She couldn''t understand how a human managed to gain all of this and even the attention of ALL THE GODS OF LIFE AND DEATH! Once she saw his status and all his abilities at their proficiency she was done. Her mind couldn''t handle the absurdity of it all.


    It took quite a bit of time for Kal to collect all the loot due to having to wait for the fires to burn out. Eventually he got bored and started tossing chunks of dirt on the fires.


    Most of what he got was crap. Rusted swords, spears, and daggers. A few dozen clubs. Out of it all he got maybe 3 decent weapons but even then they weren''t much compared to his bloodlingdaggers.


    Although he did get a few wands that raised int and wisdom. He decided they may come in handy if he ever learned any decent spells.


    His heart ached a little at not killing more of the ogres though.


    Kal- "For killing an army one would hope for at least some kickass weapons. I sorta feel a little jipped. Well at least I got quite a few different potionsand I am pretty sure I am rich now with all these coins."

    In total Kal gainedabout 1400 gold coins, 2800 silver, and 7000 copper. He still wasn''t sure as far as the currency would go but decided to ask Onyx later.


    The potions he got were all your standard regen and cure types. Stamina, health, mana, poison, disease, rot, stone, paralysis, silence, etc. Although he got a couple of all cures as well.


    Kal felt confident that he should be able to deal with most situations now. Unless he comes up against another horde or a monster way too far out of hisleague he should be able to win.


    He was still slightly upset about the napalm though. Gas and diesel will be treasures soon and every bit counts.


    Kal- "Maybe I should clean out an entire gas station? I mean there are a few down here and the supplies each hold would be a hell of a bonus. Aunty and I should be able to live well that much longer."


    While pondering Kal''s foot bumped into a vial of strange black liquid.


    Kal-"Hmm? How did I miss this?"


    Scooping it up he used observe on it.

    Kal- "The hell is that supposed to mean!? What is with this absurd looking potion? Seriously how the hell do you expect a person to know what that shit means!"


    Annoyed at the sight of the screen he wanted to chuck the vial at something. But something stopped him. He was after all curious as to what it did.


    Kal-"Well I do have enough stuff to make sure I don''t die and so long as I sip it I should be fine."


    Managing to convince himself Kal sits down and pulls out all his health and cure potions. Then he grabs the new potion and pops the cork.


    The potion lets out an oddly enticing smell. Kal brought the potion up to his lips and took a sip. Or at least he tried to. The second the liquid inside met his lips it all surged in all at once. Kal didn''t even have a chance to react the strange liquid invaded his body and a burning sensation spread throughout his body.


    Kal- "Yep this one is totally on me. Shit! Nana always said I was far too curious for my own good!"


    As the burning started to grow a screen appeared in front of Kal.

 Chapter 22

    With his decision made Kal''s body started to twitch violently. He was wracked with extreme pain and was wishing to die. He wasn''t entirely sure what the hell he just did to himself but he is definitelyregretting it at this moment.


    Kal- "Ah....AHHH!......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"


    A wave of pure unbridle pain went through Kal before he blacked out.

    In an unknown plane of existence.


    "So anyone want to tell me how in all the hells that we control this kid got those options?" A tall male speaks out among a group.


    "It shouldn''t be possible. I mean banshee and demon maybe but the third option wasn''t even considered! We wanted something we could control not this! He was supposed to get Loup Garou, Vampire, and Harpy!" An armed woman speaks out.


    "Interestingit seems there are more players on the board than we originally thought. Someone has taken notice of him as well, but the question is will we be able to work with him in this form?" A cloaked woman says.


    "So long as he has hatred towardsthat bastard Chess than we should be able to manage. Plus he might be more inclined to deal with us "Dark Gods" than any of the "Light Gods" like Chess and the Spider Queen." The tall male says.


    "True, but this unexpected turn of events is a little disturbing. Who know how he is going to develop now. After all Reapers are a race that are not to be underestimated." The last of the group a small female says.


    "Then lets just keep watch and see what he does for a little while longer. Whoever intervened may not be against us. While his choice is troubling at least he has no enmityagainst us." The tall male says.


    The dark gods all then nodded and left.

    A few hours later back at the field.


    Onyx finally woke up from her little fainting spell and looked around.


    Onyx-"He could''ve let me sleep on his lap or something." She grumbled while looking for Kal.


    When she did her eyes almost bulged out their sockets.


    Onyx-"No way......Just what the hell happened while I was out!" Her shout echoes around the night.


    Her surprise was a given considering the boy she knew for a short time had made some pretty eye-catchingchanges. His hair was now slightly longer and purple. His skin is more of pale color now with a shade of blue in it.


    Moving forward she went up to check his eyes and saw that they had changed as well. They too had turned a deep shade of purple the color of dragonstoneactually his eyes looked like two fine dragonstonegems! Other than that his appearance was the same just all aspects got a bit of a bonus. His skin was smoother and his muscles were toned down a bit and gave him more of a frail look. But if one would to feel his body they wouldn''t find a trace of fat anywhere.


    Onyx-"How did you become a Reaper!?" She really wanted to know what happened while she was out.


    Onyx-"Well at least that solves the lifespan issue was going to have to figure out a way to forcibly increase it but with this you may outlive even me. Gratefully you didn''t become a full reaper otherwise you would''ve lost a bit of your charm. The look is actually pretty good for you. Hmm hopefully you dont have that pesky problem with female reapers otherwise I may have to kill quite a few." Her eyes went dark at that.


    After a few minutes, she heard some groaning and saw Kal start to move.


    Kal-"Who hit me with a truck." He groans out.


    Onyx-"I would be asking who hit you with Reaper genes."


    Kal looked over at her confused.


    Onyx-"Check your hair."


    Reaching up Kal grabs some hair and notices he needs a haircut. Pulling down a strand he sees what she meant.


    Kal-"So my hair is purple now.... Okay now how did that happen?" He turned his gaze toward Onyx.


    Onyx-"Not too sure on that myself, after all I was unconscious. Although checking your stats may shed a bit of light on the situation." She replies.


    Kal nods and does just that. What he saw left him stunned. Onyx shook her head and mumbled something about cheats.

    Kal-"Holy shit! These are my stats!? Wait Reaper/Human 30/70?.....That potion! It turned me into something else!?"

    Kal-"Mystery potion?"


    Onyx-"Yes a mystery potion that when examined only shows ?''s and an undecipherable message. They do pretty much any random thing the one you got must have had a race change option which is the rarest among rares. Your luck is damn good." She shakes her head at him.


    Kal-"I see... But my stats! my mana, int, dex, agi, and stamina took a huge leap! My strength only went to where the daggers raised it previously and my health took a drop but still! This is ridiculous!" He shouts.


    Onyx-"I told you that humans were the weakest and well heres your proof. If you had become a full Reaper you might have gained a little more."


    Kal-"Fucking discrimination!"


    Onyx-"Oh did I mention that with this you will outlive every human on the planet now too?"


    Kal-"Wait what!?"


    Onyx-"Yep! Reapers tend to live very long lives. In fact if you get to a high enough level you could be downright immortal."


    Kal-"Well I''ll be damned. My health is a little disconcerning though. After putting the effort in to gain more I did a u-turn and dropped it." He finished with a sigh.


    Onyx-"Are you serious!? Do you know how many being''s would kill for the stats you have at your level!?" Onyx snaps and yells at Kal.


    Kal-"My bad! I will appreciate what I got." He hurries and apologizes.


    Onyx-"Damn right you will. Freaking human not understanding how amazing what he got is." She grumbles and points to his skills telling him to check his new ones.

    Seeing the new skills Kal could only smile.


    Onyx-"What?"


    Kal-"Well its a good thing we are on a battlefield. Because I have to test these new skills out."


    Currently, Kal was staring at the souls of the dead all around him. And they just noticed he could see them as well and started shivering in fear.


    Kal-"Now not even death is an escape." With that he went forward to test his new skills.

 Chapter 23

    Kal didn''t get to spend too long testing his abilities. He was able to absorbfive souls before they started disappearing and his Soul Form proved to be quite fun. Using it he was able to beat the living or in this case unliving hell out of goblin ghosts. But once the ghosts could see that even in death they weren''t safe they started running until their souls moved on.


    Kal- "Damn chickens. If only my weapons workedon souls as well. Oh well at least I know how my skills work. Although Reap is a bit much." He finishes with a grimace.


    Onyx-"Why is that?" She asks curiously.


    Kal-"Wait you couldn''t hear?"


    Onyx-"Soul Sight is not a skill I possess."


    Kal-"Oh sorry well. The skill is awesome but....They scream." Kal shivered.


    Onyx-"They scream?"


    Kal- "Yea. It''s the worst sound I have ever heard in my life too. It''s literally a scream of agony that you can feel down to your soul. I have to make sure to never use it en masseotherwise I might go insane."


    Onyx-"I see I have never heard of this problem before but it might just be because you are still mostly human. Still we should go. That army may try again and I am willing to bet you don''t have any more of that gas stuff."


    Kal-"You would lose that bet but I see your point. I am exhausted and apparentlywhile potions restore the stats they can''t restore fatigue."


    The two finally left the battlefield and started walking deeper into the city. Kal''s apartment complex was a few block past the bridge so he was sure to make it tonight especially with his newly raised stats he didn''t fear any of the tribes. Along the way Kal looted every gas station they came acrossed. If what happened was any indication of what was to come he wanted to be prepared plus a few dozen bags of funions doesn''t hurt either.


    Kal-"Hey Onyx. You seem to know quite a bit what do you think I should do to get stronger faster?"


    She pondered for a moment remembering all his skills and stats.


    Onyx- "You should probably work on your skills more. Focus less on leveling and more on those. I would put your archery skills to rest for a while and focus more on the others. You have seen how your skills allow you to overcome stronger enemies but not all enemies can be taken down with an arrow. You need something to fall back on and while your daggers have the ability to grow in strength yourknife mastery is still low and you have yet to gain the dual wielding skill as well."


    Kal- "I see. I use my bow the most because before all this it''s what I did. Now though I can see your point. I am pretty sure mastery over Archery is going to require quite a bit of time and most of my other skills have been somewhat neglected. I mean I have had bloodlust since day one and have yet to rank it up."


    Onyx didn''t say a thing in response. The fact that he has such high skills is astounding enough and yet he is complaining about a skill that hasn''t grown yet!? She was willing to bet most humans probably don''t have even half his proficiencyin all their skills combined!


    Shaking her head she lands on his head and gets ready for a nap.


    Kal- "Hey! No sleeping we will be there soon!" He shouts at her.


    Onyx-"Wake me when we get there. There won''t be any more trouble after what you just did and my mana and stamina is all but depleted thanks to your tactics."


    Kal just sighed and let her rest. Afterall if she didn''t pull out that defensive skill he would have died.


    Finally getting past the bridge he headed toward his apartment. While walking he sees that this part of the city faired no better. There was destroyed cars and buildings hell there were even some cars inside buildings. Like someone picked them up and chucked them into them.


    After walking for a while he passes by the police station. The place was trashed. Dead cops and destroyed police cruisers were everywhere. From the looks of it they tried to setup here but were overrun.

    Kal-"One last detour."


    Kal wanted a few things from the station. Mainly guns and riot gear. He went up to every dead cop and started looting them. Quite a few of the guns and gear were damaged but he gained quite a haul from all the bodies and vehicles.


    He wanted to go inside and see if he could find more but the doors were barred with quite a bit of stuff. He wasn''t sure if anyone was alive not that he cared anyway. In his opinion cops are among the most useless people he has ever met. He honestly can''t remember a single damn time where they were actually useful throughout his entire life.


    That phrase "Fuck the police" is something he actually agrees with. Having traveled for his tournaments he has gone to quite a few towns and countries but no matter where he went no one really gave a damn about the police as no matter the place there will always be corrupt cops.


    Leaving the station he takes the last turn needed to get to his street and sees a huge makeshift wall spread out down the road.


    Kal-"Well I''ll be damned they set up a wall? Huh my community doesn''t suck that bad after all. Then again it''s full of pot heads and gang bangers so they probably had enough weapons to hold out for a while."


    Onyx-"What are gang bangers and pot heads? Are they people who mate as a group and have pots on their heads?"


    Kal burst out laughing at her question.


    Kal-"No they are the scum of society, mostly anyway. The pot heads are okay but the others are just trash. So kill any if you feel like it, you would make the world a better place."


    Onyx just nodded still confused but if Kal says they deserve to die than she wasn''t going to argue.


    Kal eventually got up to the gates and a voice rang out.


    ???- "Who the hell are you kid?"


    Kal- "Someone that lives in the apartment complex halfway down the street." He replied


    ???- "That so. Must have been hell getting here."


    After saying that a man appears over the edge of the wall. He was exactly what Kal said was in his area a gang banger and one he knew as a local as well.


    Kal- "God damn it Reggie open the fucking gate!"


    Reggie was someone Kal went to school with. He was an asshole through and through. He was a five foot five white wanabe that got into the local street gang. He generally bullied who ever took his notice and dealed drugs. One time he wanted to mess with Kal but got his ass kicked in return.


    Reggie-"Well well well. What have we here golden boy has returned! You look different did you do something with your hair?"


    Kal glared at the little shit wondering if he should just put an arrow through his eye and scale the wall.


    Reggie-"Aw whats the matter? Maybe you should be nicer or the next time I go play with you aunt I''ll-


    The second he heard those words come out of Reggies mouth he shot forward, jumped on the wall and picked Reggie up by his throat. Kal''s purple eyes turned red and started glowing as his bloodlust skill was in full effect.


    Kal-"What the fuck did you just say!?" He roars in his face.


    A couple of other men were startled by Kal and pulled guns but Onyx shot a couple of fireballs and made holes in their bodies. Seeing this Reggie pissed his pants.


    Reggie-"Look man it wasn''t my idea! She wouldn''t list to Spider''s orders so he told everyone she was a free pass!"


    Kal-"You better explain slowly." Kal''s voice was dark and ominous.


    Reggie-"She was made a whore and services as many people as Spider says." At every word Kal''s grip grew tighter and Reggie''s eyes were bulging.


    Onyx could see some men approaching and told Kal so.


    Kal-"You touched my family so you are going to die!" Kal snapped his neck and dropped him.


    He pulled out his bow and took down all the approaching men.


    Kal-"Onyx if it moves it dies."


    Kal then began moving into the area. Murder was the only thing that was on his mind. And if his aunt wasn''t okay when he found her. They were going to wish that death was an escape.

 Chapter 24

    " Boss! Boss! We have a problem."


    Spider who was currently enjoying a woman who snubbed him quite a bit before the world changed heard one of his men yelling. Deciding to keep going despite the interruption he waited for the man to reach him.


    The door to his room flew open and the man (Marcus) now that Spider could see him was panting hard and had a terrified look on his face.


    Spider- "What is it? You know I hate to be disturbed." After he said that he continued to poundaway at the tied up woman with tears streaming down her face.


    Marcus could only look on as his boss fucked one of the hottest women from the area soon she too would be nothing more than a moaning whore who would gladly hop on his prick.


    Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he looked back at his boss voice grave.


    Marcus- "Boss someone broke in and just started killing everyone!"


    Spider froze at that then turned his head toward Marcus. He didn''t stop moving his hips as he slid in and out of the woman below him.


    Spider-"Who? You would''ve said a monster but instead you said somebody. Which means the person in question is human. Why is it that a single human has you so scared?"


    Marcus- "We are all scared! He came in from the south wall where Reggie was guarding. One second everything is fine the next he kills Reggie and starts murdering his way in! We tried shooting him with guns but he just disappearsand then our people either get arrows to their heads or sliced apart! The only reason I made it here is because he went into the apartment we made into the whore house!"


    Spider finally stopped screwing the woman below him and pulled out. The woman below him had a look of defiance that wasn''t there before Marcus showed up. She two recognized who the intruder was just by the arrows comment. As that kid was famous around here and liked to intervene in matters he shouldn''t. He had cost Spider quite a bit through the years and even shot his brother with an arrow after he smacked a girl who wouldn''t blow him because he said so.


    Spider-"So the little archer is back huh? Figures he would survive in this messed up world. He must have gotten a few decent skills. Hmmm Reggie probably opened his mouth and told him I turned his aunt into a human toy. That is why he is killing so there is no way to makeup. Gather up the guysoutside the apartmentand get the police squadsto get ready to go in and take him down. I will get ready just in case."


    Spider then started grabbing clothes and equipment lying around the room leaving the woman where she is.


    Marcus- "Great! If boss who is level 10 and has that skill he won''t stand a chance! One thing though at first we didn''t recognize him his hair and eyes are purple and his skin seems paler. Also he has some weird creature with him that shoots fire and makes shields around itself."


    Spider raised his eye at the mans words. Then just snorted. It didn''t matter in the new world many tried to test him but as an avid player in the previous world this worlds system was easy to figure out and no one has been able to challenge him. All are now either dead or toys depending on his mood at the time.


    Spider-"I always wanted to take care of that kid but his family were always careful and carried guns. No use getting clipped when you try someone else."


    Turning once more to the bound woman Spider blows a kiss and walks out.

    Kal reached the floor of his apartment. Behind him on the stairs lay the dead of quite a few men. All of them tried to stop him and all of them died.


    Walking down the hall Kal could hear moans and the creaking of beds. If a door was open an arrow went through the skull of the first man he saw. If the door was closed Onyx would smash in and kill any man in there. For such a small creature she had some ridiculous strength.


    Kal radiated murder and when he got to his door and heard the sound coming from within any semblance of humanity he had left him.


    Opening the door Kal walked through the familiar hallway, past the living room and kitchen, and reached the end where two rooms on opposites sides rested. The one on the right is the one he shared with his aunt. The one on the left was his grandparents and that''s where the sounds were coming from.

    Kal used Soul form and went through the door and when he came inside the room what he saw cemented that every person who had a hand in this would be slaughtered.


    Three men were in the room and had all his aunts holes filled as they laughed and pounded away. His aunt had dead eyes that blankly stared at the door.


    Steph Sapphire was a strong woman. She fought for as long as she could but eventually she couldn''t hold on countless men came to visit her everyday and she lost. And here yet again she was being violated from every hole in her parents bed. She prayed every day that her family was okay and that someone would come to rescue her.


    But like every day since this all started her prayers went unanswered. Just as she was about to slip into her mind she saw someone appear at the door. It was a young man with purple hair and glowing purple eyes. He had pale skin and an athletes build. The sight of him brought tears to her eyes. She wanted to call out his name recognizing him despite the changes. But the cock currently in her throat wouldn''t allow anything more than a garble.


    Kal pulled his bow and shot four arrows at the man who was ramming his aunt in the ass. The arrows hit both his legs and arms pinning him to the wall. His scream brought the other men out of their fun and they turned to see a demon from hell descend upon them.


    Rushing forward Kal whipped out his Daggers and sliced off the other two men''s most prized possessions. The pain didn''t stop there as the dagger were coated in venom they felt the region start to burn and melt. Their screams radiated through the whole apartment.


    But Kal was far from done. Taking one dagger a piece he put them in the screaming mens mouths and let the venom free of the daggers. Both men started writhing in agony as Kal watched on as they slowly died. The man pinned to the wall had tears and snot dripping down his face as he watched all this take place.


    Once the men finally died and their souls left their bodies Kal gave them even more agony when he used his Reap skill. This time the sounds of agony didn''t bother Kal instead they brought a sinister smile to his face.


    Turning to the last guy pinned against the wall Kal slowly walked forward ready to end him much the same way but his aunt beat him to the punch and snatch Kal''s dagger and drove it into the mans heart. Since he wasn''t the one to kill the man his Reap skill went unused.


    Steph- "I needed to vent a little too nephew." She had a smile on her face she got ready to give Kal a hug but days of being tied to a bed and used made her collapse.


    Kal rushed forward and used observe. His aunts health was really low and even though he couldn''t see her stamina he was willing to bet it was rock bottom as well.


    Kal reached into his inventory and pulled out a few potions and almost gave them to his aunt before he remembered something. A potion he picked up back at the hospital. Reaching back in he located the mutated potion.

    Originally he was just going to use the potion and hope for the restore helped at the time but now it had a greater purpose.No way in hell was his aunt going to raise any of these bastards children.


    He still had two more but the side effects were sketchy.


    Luckily the potion restored her health so he whipped out a stamina potion and made her drink it.


    Onyx- "Kal we have company!"


    Hearing her Kal stiffened for a second then he wrapped his aunt in a blanket and laid her on the bed. Turning around he started to head for the door when a hand grabbed his.


    Steph- "Wait..."


    Kal-"Don''t worry aunty I will be fine I am just going to take care of the garbage." Giving her a loving smile Kal turned and headed back toward the door his face warping back into a visage of murder.

 Chapter 25

    Captain Damon Bell was not in a good mood. After the world changed the police tried to maintain order and help people escape from the horrifying creatures. But by the end of the first day it turned out to be hopeless.


    Eventually a retreat order was given and all officers were to return to the station and hold out until the army arrived. They managed to hold the station one more day until they had to flee. With nowhere to go most officers went to go and grab their families but a small group stayed with Captain Bell. This group knew without a shadow of a doubt that those officers who left were only heading towards their deaths.


    With nothing better the small group of officers loaded up and head out looking for a place to survive. It did not take them long to find Spiders compound.


    At first when they got there all the gangbangers and drug dealers wanted nothing to do with the cops. They would gladly let them all die outside but Spider had other ideas. Seeing that all the policemen were armed and that they brought a few cruisers with them he decided to offer them a deal. Work for himand they would have a place.


    Having no better choice the cops agreed much to Spiders satisfaction.


    Captain Bell was furious when he first saw how Spider ran his community. Women were nothing more than toys in his eyes and were to be used as such. In fact every girl 12 and up were to be sent to the brothel to help his men relieve their stress from protecting them. Some of the girls were younger but the captain managed to threaten the men there and got them out. All other people had to work even children there were no exceptions. Those who didn''t work didn''t eat or were beaten.


    On his first day in Captain Bell watched as one of Spiders men beat a 6-year-old girl to death for dropping a brick that she was supposed to pass to the wall builders. The Captain ordered anofficer to put a bullet through the mans head. Later that night Captain bell found that officers head outside his door with a note attached.


    "Keep your men on a tighter leash Captain."


    From then on Captain Bell just allowed Spiders men to do what they wanted. Most of his men lost all faith in him and pretty much serve Spider now. He is just there to lead them if a fight comes up.


    Now someone has broken into the compound and is killing people left and right. Marcus had just come and informed him that the person in question was someone that this community knows all too well. He is some archery prodigy that enters tournaments all the time. The kid found out that his aunt was turned into a whore at Spider''s brothel and went on a rampage. He is currently inside the apartment/brothel and Spider wants him to gather his men and meet him outside the brothel.


    Captain Bell thought that it would be better to teach Spider a lesson and just let him lose men to the kid but then it might be his head on the block. Not to mention that he himself has indulged in the use of the boys aunt as she is quite the woman.


    With a sigh Captain Bell grabbed his radio and informed all his men to meet at the brothel.

    Kal- "What''s going on?"


    Onyx- " There''s a large group people gathering in front of the building all armed with those guns of yours."


    Kal- "You can see them?"


    Onyx- "Before the tribes I wouldn''t be able too but now I have access to one of my various sights. I am able to see the heat of the living the sight is call-


    Kal- "Thermal yea we have that too just in gadget instead of our eyes. Look we are here onthe third floor they have to go up two flights of stairs to get here but if things work out the way I want we will take them all out on the second floor."


    The apartment complex was a simple four story building with no roof access and a small basement. On each floor was our apartments all done up the same way with 2 on each side. An open area for the living room, dining area, and kitchen followed by a short hallway that branches off to two small bedrooms and a bathroom. One hallway spans each floor and on either side is a staircase, one leading up one leading down except on the third floor where there is just a staircase going down. Kal is currently in the back left apartment on the third floor.


    Onyx pouted a little at the interruption but was curious to know what the boy had planned this time.


    The second Kal heard that Onyx had thermal his mind was whirling with possible strategies. After rolling the odds of which was better he decided to go it''s best to stick with his strengths.


    Activating his soul form ability Kal phases into the room under his current position pulling Onyx along with him. Inside is a terrified girl about 15 or so she has barely any clothes on and stares at Kal in fear. On the bed lies a man with an arrow in his head. Kal glances at his soul and smirks at him. The soul backs up in horror but was too late as Kal reaches forward and absorbs him. The screams of agony were a bit muted as his anger blocked most of it out.


    Kal turns to the girl and put a finger to his lips telling the girl to be quiet. Unfortunately he couldn''t phase into the adjoining apartment as the door is right next to the stairwell so his plan wouldn''t work.


    Onyx- "So what are you going to do this time make them burn again?"


    Kal- "No that would be counterproductive in this instance. This time its all about sneak attacks and hit and run tactics."


    With that said Kal has Onyx watch the stairwell with her thermal. The second she sees someone step into the hallway she was to tell him their locations. Kal put and arrow in his bow and waited.

    Spider- "Well piggy do you think your men can handles this one or am I going to have to step in?"


    Bell shoots Spider an annoyed glare and gets back to watching his men arm up. Each of his officers were armed with tear gas, 2 flash bangs, a Car-15 carbine, Glock 22''s, and lastly 2 of them held remington 870 pump action shotguns with breach rounds. Each officer was wearing a helmet, black fatigues, balacava, tacticle vest, and combat boots.


    Upon leaving the station they made sure to grab all the best weapons and armour possible. There was no point in leaving it all there when they had no idea what they woud face upon leaving the station. With these weapons and their superior training taking down some kid with a bow shouldn''t be a problem.


    Bell- "Taking care of the kid wouldn''t be a problem if someone hadn''t messed with his aunt."


    Spider- "Careful there Captain it sounds like your trying to make a point and you know how much I love people making points."


    Spider voice goes dark and he narrows his eyes at the Captain. Captain Bell frowns but keeps quiet as pissing off Spider would be bad for his health.


    Spider- "That''s what I thought."


    Bell- "We may need you too watch the monitors just incase. We may need your skill if he has anything troublesome."


    Spider- "Why of course that is why I am here. I''d send in my guys but they aren''t relly trained for this thing you understand right Captain?"


    Bell ignored him. He''d prefer to waste Spider''s worthless scum men but Spider refuses to risk any of his men he is more inclined to make Captain Bell risk his instead. This way he keeps a good hold on the balance of power.


    Bell- "All right guys you know what you need to do. Go in and take care of the kid. He is a part of tis new worlds system so be aware of his abilities. As far as we know he can turn invisible and shoot a bow. He also seems to move fast and is stronger than your average man. So if you get a shot take him out."


    The fifteen oficers all nodded at him then made their way towards the entrance. One by one they slowy entered the building. A few moments later a call came over the radio.


    Officer- "Sir first floor clear. We got 9 dead all men the girls are ok. Moving to the next floor."


    Bell- "Roger that proceed."


    Bell had a happy grin on his face. All those men who died were loyal to Spider. Spider hearing that nine of his guys were dead was pissed. On the way here he learned that at least 20 of his men were killed now he finds out he lost another nine!? He was going to make someone pay for this.

    The second Onyx informed him that the enemies had reached the second floor he moved to the wall that connects to the next apartment, aimed at the the wall facing the outside hallway and waited.


    Onyx- "There!"


    Onyx pointed at a spot on the wall and Kal let an arrow fly. The arrow shot straight through the drywall and right into the next of an officer.


    Officer- "Man down! Man down! Target is in the second floor back left apartment! He''s shooting through the wall open fire!"


    Kal- "Oh shit I forgot! Onyx Shield!"


    Kal forgot about the fact that Spider may not care about the girls in the rooms. So he hurried and grabbed the girl as bullets started ripping through the walls. Gratefully Onyx was able to get a shield up in time.

    Sgt. Nick Rogers was not having a good day. Today was supposed to be his rest day and he wanted to spend it here with one or two women wrapped around him. But instead hear he was currently trying to gun down some kid with his partners blood splattered across his face.


    After everyone unloaded a full clip into the apartment he held his hand up signaling a ceasefire. He had one of his men check the fallen officer and signaled the others to move towards the door.


    However right as he laid his hand on the door handle an arrow embedded itself in his neck. As he fell back the last thing he saw was arrows rapidly coming out of the wall and slamming into his men.


    Rogers- (Just who the fuck did we piss off?)

    Bell and Spider both had ugly looks on their faces. They were both watching the monitors and witnessed the deaths of at least 6 officers including Sgt Rogers. Bell picked up his radio and started shouting into it.


    Bell- "Retreat and draw him into the hallway I repeat retreat and and draw him into the hallway!"


    Bell turned to Spider.


    Bell- "When he comes out take care of his weapon!"


    Spider narrowed his eyes at the Captain before replying.


    Spider- "Do not order me. Otherwise you will be replaced!"


    Spiders voiced was filled with venom. He stared intently at the monitors and got ready to use his skill.

    Onyx watched as the men outside retreated. The boy managed to hit a few but since she could only point out where they were he only managed to actually hurt a few and kill only 6. Some of the arrows stuck into them but didn''t drop them. The boy said they must be wearing armour.


    Onyx- "They are retreating."


    Kal- "Damn was hoping to get a few more. What worries me though is the quick response to my actions. That coupled with the fact they were shooting 5.56 rounds make me think military or swat neither of which is good for us."


    Girl- "W-who are you talking too?"


    Surprised Kal turned to the girl. He had completely forgotten her yet again. Saving her was just a reflex due to what happened with his aunt. Normally he would take care of their first problem then leave then to their own devices but he couldn''t just allow her to be shot because of him.


    Kal- (I better not be developing some annoying ass hero complex.) "Don''t worry about it hide yourself and stay out of sight. I got killing to do."


    Girl- "Wait!"


    The girl grabbed Kal''s arm and pulled him close until she was hugging it. Onyx saw this and immediately show herself as she screeched at the girl in anger. Startled the girl pressed closer to Kal and buried her head into his chest.


    Onyx- "Release him now!"


    Kal looked down at the half-naked girl and then looked at Onyx. He had no clue as to what was happening but he knew there was no time for this. Pushing the girl away from him slowly he asked her what she wanted.


    Girl- "Those men who were shooting at you were police officers. They arrived a few days ago with a lot of weapons and gear. Most of the gear said swat on them so I am assuming thats what they are."


    Kal- "Damn was hoping that wasn''t the case. Those bastards are going to be annoying. Thanks for the info but it''s best if you hide now also try to keep the touching down my partner here doesn''t care much others and is a little over protective."


    The girl nods at Kal and gives him a smile. Before going to hide further in the apartment though she gives Onyx a smirk. Onyx''s glare follows here until she disapears into one of the bedrooms.


    Onyx- "You said before kill anything that moves."


    She said this as a statement rather than a question. Kal looked at her in confusion.


    Kal- "Whats up with you?"


    Onyx decided not to answer but shot one last glare at the back room.


    Kal- "What are they up to?"


    Onyx turned and looked at the stairwell where the men retreated too. All four pf the ones that were wounded were moving down to the first floor. At the top of the stairwell three men knelt aiming down towards the apartment they were in behind them sat another two.She relayed this toKal.


    Kal- "Good we will take care of the wounded ones first."


    Activating soul form yet again Kal drops through the ceiling and pulls out his Bloodling daggers. Next he activates sneak and gets behind the four men. He walks up behind the first on when all of a sudden he hears a voice come through his radio.


    Bell- "He''s behind you on the first floor!"


    All the wounded men pull what weapons they can and spin unfortunately for the guy furthest to the back Kal was already too close and he swept his daggers across the man''s throat.


    Right as the men started firing Onyx threw up a shield and blocked the bullets. Kal was low on mana due to the constant use of his skills and he didn''t think wasting stamina would be a good idea.


    Kal''s plan was solid the only thing he didn''t account for was cameras.


    The sound of feet coming down the stair''s alerted Kal that the swat from upstairs were headed down. Doing the only thing he could Kal pulled his bow and started firing. If he had any mana a quick rapid fire would do these bastards in. Gratefully thanks to hunters mind he was able to stay calm and return fire. So long as Oynx shield holds up he should be able to handle these guys.

    Bell- "What are you doing take out his bow!"


    "Spider- "No not the bow the quiver! Look the quiver is only holding two arrows yet he is able to constantly pull from it. It must be a special item! It''s too bad something like that would be quite useful."


    Raising his hand Spider focused on the image of Kal''s Infinite Quiver and activated his skill or in this case spell Absolute Break.

    When Spider first gained the skill he thought it was useless but over time he found that it can be quite useful especially in instances like this. He learned that all he has to do is see the item in real time he doesn''t necessarily have to be there in person. Thanks to this when strong enemies would attack their campound He would have a man take a camera and point it at the creature with the best items and then he would break them allowing his men to kill them when they were defenseless. The only drawback to this was the long cooldown.


    With a smile Spider watched as his spell activated and small cracks appeared along Kal''s quiver.

    Kal had managed to take down two more of the wounded officers and was getting ready to take down the last when he reached back for an arrow and one wasn''t there a second later a window popped up.

 Chapter 26

    Kal stared at the screen in front of him in disbelief. How could his infinite quiver be gone? It has literally been there since the beginning and was an item he could always count on and now just like that its gone?


    Emotions swam through his eyes. The loss of the Infinite quiver was no small blow to Kal. It was something that while he may have only had a short time it was still irreplaceable.


    Oynx- "Boy! Do something I don''t have unlimited mana here!"


    Hearing Onyx shout broke Kal''s daze and his face warped into a cold mask. The person responsible for this was going to pay dearly. Carefully placing his bow and quiver in his inventory Kal turned to face the officers that were heading down the stairs. Ignoring the retreating officer since he was almost to the door anyway.


    He was slightly annoyed at himself at this moment. After every battle he always carefully looted every corpse. He took every useable item he could find but when it came to arrows he never really bothered he reasoned so long as he had the quiver he wouldn''t have a need for more arrows unless they were special in nature. So he was only leftwith the two arrows he had from the very start.


    Taking a quick glance at his stats made him sigh.

    Kal- (I really need to learn to conserve mana when I am pissed.)


    Looking at his stats and skills Kal tried to come up with a somewhat workable plan but ultimately decided to do something completely unexpected. He reached into his inventory and pulled out an M4 Carbine and 5.7x28mm Five-sevenpistol.On his trip here Kal passed by the police station and managed to gain quite a few weapons and ammo from the dead bodies outside the station.


    Placing a holster on his side and putting his pistol in there ready to draw. He putthe rifles strap around him, raised his rifle and sighted down at the officers, and started walking slowly towards them.


    Oynxwas startled by Kal''s actions. She couldn''t understand why he put away his bow in favor of the rifle. In her opinion his skills with a bow vastly outmatched anyone she has seen use these odd weapons. Not to mention she can allow arrows to pass through her barrier now, she can''t allow bullets otherwise the men shooting at them would actually hit!


    Kal- "Keep the barrier up on that side don''t worry I know what I am doing."


    Kal thought back to all the training sessions he had as a kid. The deer hunting, skeet shooting, and the simple weapons testing at firing ranges. His family was strange for teaching a kid how to handle a shotgun at such a young age but he didn''t mind the first time he unloaded his first clip into the heart of a target he felt immense joy. It helped that he bet his grandfather an ice cream cone.


    Of course Kal wasn''t naive enough to think that he could just walk out and shoot them all. When he made to the edge of Oynx''s barrier he stared straight ahead and purposely activated bloodlust.

    The fault wasn''t entirely his the weapon he was holding wasn''t sighted properly causing him to be off mark. He didn''t let it bother him though he just calmly adjusted his sights and fired again this time the bullet foundits mark between the eyes of an officer.


    The officers were madly scrambling in panic to reload their weapons but they were so terrified that their hands kept slipping. They even forgot they had side arms. The officers despite living to this point had barely grown in this new world each being only at an average lv of 5. The difference between them and Kal was like night and day.


    Unlike Kal as well they didn''t possess the skill "Hunters Mind." Do to this so long as Kal sees them as prey his mind will always be calm while they are terrified due to Kal''s superior strength and Bloodlust skill.


    The men gave up trying to reload and tried to run but unfortunately it was too late. Kal pulled the trigger four more times and four bodies dropped. It''s true Kal is deadly with a bow but he is no slouch when it comes to firearms as well.


    Kal- "Now it''s time to deal with the others. Onyx I want you to go back up an watch my aunt."


    Oynx- "We are partners we stick together."


    Kal looked her right in the eyes and saw her determination to stay with him and soften a bit.


    Kal- "Look I understand but you don''t have the mana to protect yourself anymore. It''s better if you guard my aunt while I handle the rest don''t worry It''s going to be a gamble but I am sure it''ll work out."


    Oynx grit her teeth. She knew what he was really trying to say but couldn''t hold it against him. She knew that without her barriers right now she was pretty much a target. Sure she could easily shoot fire balls through the people but all it would take is one person to blow a hole through her. The same could be said about Kal but she knows that he isn''t dumb and must have a plan up his sleeve.


    With a quick nod she headed back up to his aunt. Once she was outta sight Kal pulled out one of his mutated potions more specifically the one that caused numbness as the one that made you blind didn''t seem like that good of a deal.


    Kal- "Well here''s hoping for mana."


    Kal down the potion and almost gagged. The potion tasted horrible like spoiled milk and stale bread. Right away he could feel the potion take effect as he lost all feeling in his body. To test it he pinched himself and felt nothing despite losing one health.


    Checking his stats to see which one the potion raised Kal saw that his stamina was maxed while he only had 85 mana.


    Kal- "Well that somewhat works. I guess."


    Kal spun his rifle to his back and pulled out his Bloodling Daggers. He felt it was time to feed these some more. Turning towards the door leading outside Kal charged.

    Spider and Bell watched as Kal put down the officers easily. Both had ugly looks on their face both for different reasons. Bell because he was down to one wounded man and Spider because now he may have to waste some of his own men. They didn''t expect that after they took out Kal''s quiver that he would be able to magically pull guns out of thin air!


    They had no idea that a skill like inventory was even a thing in this new world. Nor should they. Unique skills are called that for a reason. They are the ultra rares of ultra rares. Between both worlds that this skill resides probably five people have held this skill.


    Spider was about to get ready to send in his men when he saw Kal send away the strange creature that made shields. Then they watched as he drank a poton, pulled out some daggers, and charged towards the door.


    Spider- "He''s coming out!"


    Hearing his yell all the men in the area raised their guns towards the door. Waiting for Kal to set foot outside. Much to their surprise Kal didn''t appear outta of the doorway instead he appeared mid-air.


    Had Bell and Spider kept watching the monitors they would''ve seen Kal jump and disappear.


    Instead they watched as Kal appeared in mid air and slammed his daggers into two men. Then he pulled his pistol with his right hand and fired to the side taking down three more, while swinging a dagger with his left. The dagger grew in size and cut through two more men before sending out a spray of liquid that landed on a group that started screaming almost instantly.


    Before anyone could get a lock on him he disappeared and a moment later he appeared in the middle of another group of men and proceeded to cut them to pieces as his hands moved in a blur thanks to rapid fire. In one swift motion he pulled out his rifle and took down all of the rest off the men with a few short bursts.


    At the end of it all Kal stood covered in blood all you could hear were the screams of the men who were slowly melting. Bell looked at Kal with fear while Spider looked on in rage.


    Kal stared right at them with a cold look in his glowing red eyes.


    Bell- "Look kid I was just doing what I was- Bell fell back with a hole in his head.


    Spider- "Well well well. Nice to see you again archer boy!"


    Kal turned his rifle towards Spiders head. See this Spider sneered at him.


    Spider- "What you don''t want do this like men? You just going to shoot me and let me just get off like that? Don''t you want to make me pay?"


    Kal- " Ya know. I know your playing me but your right."


    Kal put away his all his weapons except his daggers. He stood still waiting for Spider.


    Spider- "I have wanted to take care of your annoying little ass for years you know that? When I finally have the chance to do so turns out you aren''t even here instead I got stuck playing with your aunt and making a safe place for the people of our community and what do you do? You come back and kill all my men who have been protecting the people of this place."


    Kal- "Are you going to keep talking becuse if so I am just going to kill you now."


    Spider- "Tell me how do you think I was able to make all those people do what I asked?"


    Kal- "Fear and intimidation."


    Spider- "Well yes but there was another key component."


    Kal watched as Spider walked towards him and started changing.


    Spider- "You see when the shit hit the fan I ended up fighting against this spider. Ironic Right?"


    His muscles started bulging and his body took on a red color, steam started rising from his body.


    Spider- "After barely managing to kill it the spider dropped this book. When I read the book I gained a skill."


    Spiders body was now three times the size it was before. His voice started sounding deeper and distorted.


    Spider- "The skill was called Behemoth Berserker. Nifty skill raises my strength times my level and makes my skin nearly impenetrable. Burns my stamina like crazy though. Only sad part is I can only use it once a day and for 6 hours after use my stats drop 90% but for you I don''t mind."


    With a loud roar Spider charged.

 Chapter 27.

    Kal watched as Spider charged him and at the last moment he dodged to the side. Spider expecting this swung his arm out at Kal. The blow hit Kal so hard he flew across the street and intoa car.


    At the last second Kal managed to put his daggers up to take the blow so he was only really hurt from the impact. Wiping a little blood from his mouth he walked out of the wreckage. When he stood he saw Spider walking up to him.


    Spider- "Do you see you little shit!? In this world power is everything!"


    When he was close enough he swung at Kal again. Kal ducked under the blow only to find a foot waiting. Raising his daggers yet again Kal was sent flying into the air.


    Spider started running following Kal''s decent with a sinister smile on his face. He was happy. Finally he can get rid of this brat the had been plaguing him for years. Normally a simple drive by or a hit would do but this kid always found some way to make his attempts fail. Now though he has the chance to make sure the kid died.


    When Kal reached a certain height Spider launched himself into the air to grab Kal. Right as he was about to grab him though Kal disappeared and he grabbed just air. Spider landed and started looking around.


    Spider- "What are you just going to run!?" He roared at the air.


    The sound of a stone shifting alerted Spider that someone was behind him. He smiled and spun catching Kal slamming him into the ground. Spider walked forward and looked down.


    Spider- "Hahahaha no onecan stop me! Don''t you see our new god wanted me to be powerful as I was meant to be,you on the other hand, were meant to be nothing!"


    Kal smiled and looked up at him. Then he started laughing. Seeing this annoyed Spider.


    Spider- "Whats so funny!?"


    Kal- "You are whats funny. You think that this is real power? Are you serious?"


    Kal continued to laugh at him. Spiders face started to distort into an even uglier look.


    Spider- "Of course this is power! You haven''t been able to do a damn thing to me! So what would you call your actions to this point huh?"

    Kal- "Pity."


    And it was. Spider may have a pretty strong skill for his level but that''s all he has. Kal was literally dropped into a situation which he wasn''t meant to survive and not only did he, he prospered. Kal is double Spiders level, been through more fights, and has way better gear. So why would one skill of from someone lower level make him seem to be losing?


    The only answer one could come up with is pity. From the moment Kal started watching Spider charge he knew that he was in no danger. Taking the hits was just to test out the strengthhe gained and nothing more. The skill made him a tank. Thats it.


    In Kal''s eyes he was just so slow. In fact he''s so slow he still hasn''t even noticed the venom eating away at his ankles, knees, and in his elbows. Kal at first just wanted to experiment if his dagger really wouldn''t cut through and it was true they couldn''t but the venom stayed. So Kal decided to see how much he could place before Spider would notice.


    Turns out a lot. Spiders skill doesn''t just bulk him up and make him stronger it also takes away all feeling. Kal not even for one second thought as Spider as something other than a pest that needed to die.


    Noticing that the venom had finally eaten far enough through spider Kal made his move right as Spider''s fist came flying in. Reaching into his inventory Kal pulled out a random sword and slammed it into the inside of Spiders elbow, driving it into the ground. Before Spider could move and pull it out Kal moved like a blur using rapid fire to drive blade after blade through the areas that he weakened with venom. In less than a 2 secondsSpider had blades through his knees, ankles, and elbows.


    Kal stared down at sneered at Spider who had a look of disbelief on his face.


    Kal- "See this? This is real power."


    Spider couldn''t believe what happened one moment he was about to crush him and the next he is pinned to the ground and can''t move. He started praying that this was all just a really bad dream.


    It wasn''t.


    Spider- "How? How is it this happened!?"


    Spider roared out demanding an answer and Kal was more than happy to oblige.


    Kal- "It''s simple while it''s true you are strong and hard to kill but that skill of yours doesn''t make you fast in fact it probably makes you slower since your mass increases. My level is more than double yours. Plus these daggers are amazing. You mentioned how you got your skill from killing a spider right? Well I got these daggers after exterminating an entire spider species. "


    Spiders face went pale at Kal''s words. Kal put a wicked smile on his face and raised his daggers for Spider to see.


    Kal- "Ya know I think it''s more ironic for a Spider to die by spider venom don''t you?"


    Taking the daggers Kal started to slowly run them over Spiders body making sure to cover him in as much venom as possible. Once he was done he sat on a car and waited for the screaming to start.


    He didn''t have to wait long. After a few minutes Spider''s body began to shrink and with the loss of his extra bulk he regain his sense of feeling. The second he felt the venom his body he started screaming so loud every last person who was left in the compound started showing up. Soon a crowd had arrived to watch Spider scream and melt.


    The people numbered about 30 and their gazes kept shifting from the screaming Spider and the smiling Kal. One person though was slowly pushing her way through the crowd with a small black ferretling on her shoulder and when she got to the front she raised the rifle in her hand and fired.


    When the bullet went through Spiders head ending his screams Kal grew angry. He jumped up and looked for the person who dared to ruin his moment. His eyes settled on a very familiar frail and pissed off woman.


    Steph- "What the fuck do you think you are doing! I sure as shit didn''t raise you this way! Now you stay right fucking there while I deal with the rest the way you should''ve!"


    She looked at Onyx and spoke a few words to her. Then Onyx took to the air.


    Kal just stared at her with a stunned expression then watched as she turned her gun on another man and put a bullet through his skull. Then another and anoter until people finally figured out they weren''t safe and took off running. But that didn''t help. Onyx who was in the air started shooting fireballs through what seemed like random people legs.


    However these people weren''t random they were all people who worked for Spider. Steph had told Onyx who to target before she shot Spider. After a few minutes ten more people were killed by Steph and Onyx.


    With one last glare at the dead people around them Steph and Onyxturned to look at her Kal with angry disappointment.

 Chapter 28

    Kal flinched back from their gazes. He knew what he was doing was morally wrong but Spider was a monster how could they think Spiders suffering at his hand was a bad thing? Kal''s face was a mixture of confusion and wronged.


    Seeing the look on her nephews face Steph snorted she could guess what was on his mind so she started walking towards him.


    Steph- "Stupid nephew we aren''t angry at the fact that you were making him suffer we are angry at the fact you sat there watching while the rest of his men gathered up around you! I asked Onyx here if you could take a bullet or if you were fast enough to dodge it despite not paying attention. Guess what? Her answers pissed me off even more! You were so wrapped up in one person you forgot the others. What would''ve happened if one of them took a shot at you while you were so absorbedwatching that waste die?"


    Kal had a stunned look on his face due to her words. He had indeed forgotten everyone else. His sole focus was on Spider and making him suffer as much as possible. Had any one of those people took a shot at him he would''vediedjust like that. It was a verystupid thing or him to do and now he understood their anger. They were quite fine with the fact that he wanted Spider to suffer they just didn''t want him to put himself in pointless danger while doing so.


    Kal- "I''msorry."


    Seeing that he was sincere Steph nodded with a smile on her face then held out her arms to him. Kal didn''t hesitate he walked forward and wrapped his aunt in his arms. He finally made it back to his family.


    ????- "Awwww what a touching fucking moment!"


    Hearing thevoice Kal felt his aunt stiffen then watched her face take on a look he had never seen appear on her face before a look of pure murder. Turning to see who could elect such a response out of his aunt Kal saw two men standing with automatic weapons smug looks on their faces. Those two men were Spiders right-hand man Marcus and Spiders little brother Marcel.


    The two were present when Kal first jumped out of the building and started slaughtering people however when they saw how easy it was for him they hid. The sight of Kal effortlesslykilling all those men made them terrified. When Spiders screaming started they grew even more terrified. Someone had beaten Spider? The two looked at each other in disbelief. However not too long later shots started ringing out again and then things got quiet. Sharing a look the two grabbed their weapons and came out of hiding. When they saw Kal run up to his aunt they couldn''t believe their luck. Spider was dead and that means all they have to do is put a bullet in this kid and this whole place was theirs.     Steph- "Good I was hoping you two weren''t dead yet."


    Steph turned to Kal.


    Steph- "Leave them alive."


    Kal grinned at his aunt and raised his pistol. Marcus and Marcel weren''t stupid the hurried and fired however unfortunatelyfor them Onyx was present and their bullets slammed uselessly into her shield. The two used their whole clips to no avail and before they could reload Kal blew their kneecaps out then turned to his aunt.


    Kal- "So why did I leave them alive?"


    Steph- "Because they are the two who visited me the most and I thought this would be a good chance to teach you a few things. Melting people is good and all nephew but some people will die just from the pain. If you are going to make someone suffer there are much better ways. Now hand me a knife and a blowtorch."


    Kal- "How do you-


    Kal stopped when he saw the look on Onyx''s face. Of course she told her that he looted places on my way here. With a shake of his head Kal pulled out the items his aunt asked for and handed them over.


    With a wicked grin on her face Steph slowly walked towards the two screaming men upon seeing her face the two started begging and crying for mercy. Unfortunately for them she had none.


    She started with the mens feet slowly running the torch of them until they were nice and black then she moved on to other areas. After a while she stopped using just the torch and then used the torch on the knife. She started by cutting off fingers and slowly cut off every appendage while the men screamed. And she cut off every appendage she made a big show of taking off the two mens manhood. Every now and then she would ask Kal or a health potion to keep them going.


    By the time Steph was done with the two most of the people who there had empty stomachs and sick looks on their faces. Kal and Onyx just had stunned looks on their faces. She made it last almost three hours before the men died.


    Steph stood up and smiled. Blood covered her face. She turned and gave everyone a look that made them shiver. Finally, she turned to Kal and he could see a slightly crazed look in her eyes.


    Steph- "If you are going to make someone suffer Kal you have to make it meticulous and slow. After all what''s the point in ending things fast? Remember if you need to make someone suffer you must make it hurt for as long as possible. Now everyone get cleaned up, grab a gun, and check the walls all that screaming and killing probably attracted a few things. Kill them and level I need to have talk with my nephew."


    Her words snapped everyone out of their trance and everyone complied even the children. No one wanted to piss off the lady who just did that! After a few moments gunfire could be heard from the walls. With a satisfied nod Steph turn and walked towards a truck. She pulled down the tail gate, sat, and motioned for Kal to come over.


    Kal was still standing there in stunned silence. His mouth wide open at what just happened. He always viewed his aunt as gentle and loving but now? He was a little scared. Onyx however had a huge grin on her face and turned towards Kal.


    Onyx- "I love your aunt."

 Chapter 29

    Kal still a little stunned went and sat by his aunt on the tailgate. Steph placed her head on his shoulder and sighed in contentment, while Onyx settled on his head.


    Steph- "Well nephew Onyx has explained a bit but why don''t you tell about your experiences up to this point."


    Seeing no reason to refuse Kal told her everything. Starting with how he first went to the hospital to put on a show for his grandparents, and how he first stepped into this new world. He told her all about how he descended


    to the floor of the bloodlings and about the the fate of both his grandparents and the bloodlings. He told her how he saved Doctor Cyn Evans and how the two ventured through the hospital picking up others. Then how he escaped and finally how he burned


    down the hospital. For reasons he couldn''t understand though he didn''t tell her that he looted all the medicals supplies in the hospital. In fact a part of him was screaming that doing so would be a huge mistake. But he


    still couldn''t figure out why. This woman was supposed to be his family and most trusted and loved person to him so why was he unwilling to tell her about the medical supplies?


    Eventually he decided that if he didn''t come up with a good reason to hold back the information in a few days he would just tell her and let the cards fall as they may.


    Steph- "Even if the spiders hadn''t killed your grandparents you most likely still would''ve killed them all. So one way or the other that bounty would''ve been placed on you. I am curious though what happen to those people you helped?"


    Kal grimaced at the memory of them at that last moment. He went ahead and told her what transpired after he caught the hospital on fire.


    Steph- "That explains a few things." After saying this she went quiet again.


    Kal took this as a chance to continueand told her about his trip here. When he got to the part about facing the army his aunt looked up at him with surprise. Hearing how he was able to annilate that many creatures with just him and Onyx made her astonished and she even wanted


    Kal to start firing his arrows from his infinite quiver as much as possible to arm up the residents here. But Kal informed her that his quiver was now broken due to the last fight. Her excitement faded at his words.


    Steph- "Well that fucking sucks! Even dead that asshole is still a pain in the ass. At least now I know why you see others as completely useless and not worth the effort of help."


    Her words made Kal flinch to the side a bit causing her head to slip off. She looked up at him with a raised brow.


    Steph- "I know you better than anyone. Did you really think I wouldn''t notice that same look you had for your teachers after that whole tarantula incident? Honestly I may not be your mother but I damn well know you like one."


    Kal went to scratch his head sheepishy but then remebering that Onyx was there just sighed.


    Kal- "Can you blame me? Sure I admit I was a total ass and a premium dick but I still saved their lives and helped them escape and they turn around and decide to betray me? How would your outlook on people be?"


    Steph- "In this kind of world had that happened I would''ve killed one of them to set an example. Although your way of leaving them to the monsters was pretty good. BUT! I would not have given up on all humans just because of a few bad seeds."


    Kal- "I didn''t give up on all humans just the useless ones."


    Steph pointed out to a group of survivors grabbing guns off of Spiders dead men.


    Steph- "And why are they useless? Is it because of their low level? OR is that they were too weak to stand up to Spider?" She looked at him demanding an answer.


    Kal couldn''t come up with anything. He could roughly guess what his aunts answer would be if he answered her so instead he kept quiet. Seeing this Steph patted his cheek and continued talking.


    Steph- "I understand that you are angry and despise this new world but these people were dropped into a hell they never thought possible. Spider may have been scum but he was strong scum. He protected people aginst the monsters and gave them a place to safely stay. In the world before people didn''t have to worry about such things, but now this is a world where the strong rule and the weak suffer. These people now have a chance to get stronger if they


    grasp this chance and improve themselves they can be quite useful, but if they squander this chance then those are the trully useless people. Do you understand what I am saying?"


    Kal-"I make no promises but I will try to look at others differently and to at least understand their situation. But at most I will give a person one chance after that they nothing but a walking corpse."


    Steph- "*SIGH* Well I guess that''s the best I could hope for. Maybe if we get you laid you''d open up a bit more eh? I think any of the girls from the brothel would gladly help you out."


    Both Kal and Onyx started coughing and looked at Steph in disbelief. Onyx may have started planning the deaths of all those women as well. Seeing the looks on both of their faces made Steph laugh outloud.


    Steph- "Ahhh nephew if you could see the look on your face! But seriously you might wanna consider it. Let off a bit of steam and what not."


    Kal- "For all tense and purposes you are my parent shouldn''t you be against this kind of stuff!?"


    Steph- "Oh please you can''t tell me on all those trips you took you didn''t tap a foreigner or two?"


    Steph looked closely at Kal and her jaw dropped.


    Steph- "Noooo....You can''t be... Are you seriously a fucking virgin!?" Steph bolted up and yelled for the whole world to hear.


    Kal''s face went beet red. If this was anyone else he would be severely pissed off but in the face of someone from his family all he could feel was embarrassment. Onyx had surprised but delighted look on he face.


    Steph- "I can''t believe this! All this time we''ve been thinking you might accidentally knock up some girl and bring her home. But you actually stayed pure!? What the hell!? Give me back all of my worries!"


    Kal- "I only went for the tournaments. Getting the money for bills was all I thought about."


    Steph- "You stupid boy! We were the adults! You were the kid! You should''ve been having fun! My god boy all the things you could''ve done." Steph let out a frustrated sigh. "I guess no use griping over it now. So what are your plans for the foreseeable future?"


    Kal- "I promised Julius I would stay here for a week before moving on. As to where I am not entirely sure yet but we definitely cannot stay here."


    Steph- "I see but this "we" doesn''t include me now does it?"


    Kal''s face snapped to hers and he looked at her incredulously.


    Kal- "You can''t be serious!"


    Steph- "I am dead serious." She turned to look at the people moving amongst Spiders men''s corpses. "Someone has to lead and protect these people. I know for a fact that you won''t so it falls to me afterall do you think any of people would last long without a leader?"


    Kal- "What does that matter at all! I know I said that I would try to understand people''s situation but come on! You are all the family I have left!"


    Stephs face turned gentle upon hearing him.


    Steph- "Thats why I would like to ask you to help. Now don''t get me wrong I don''t want you to stay here and protect us I want you to help us establish a foothold here so we can hold our own. Although it would be nice if you''d visit every now and then after you leave."


    Kal''s thought were in a bit of a state. His plan was to get his aunt find a safe place and make sure she is protected then to head out and slaughter his way to the gods front door. Sure he may not of had everything worked out but at least it was something but now his aunt wants him to just leave her on the edge of several monsters territory? This was not something Kal''s heart could tolerate.     Seeing a glint pass through Kal''s eyes Steph leaned back and started yelling at him angrily.


    Steph- "Now see here you little brat! I am not some weak little bitch! If it wasn''t for Spider gaining more strength than me that fucker would''ve been spit roasted on day motherfucking one! I swear if you try anything stupid you are going to wish you used your dick at least once!"


    Kal jumped back at her tone. He gritted his teeth and looked at her.


    Kal- "Fine I will make sure you and the people here get stronger but I swear if you don''t meet sufficient standards I will drag you away no matter what you say!"


    Steph- "OH I would love to see you try. But for now I need a shower we can get started tomorrow. I see you at home later." With that she walked back up to the apartment complex and disappeared inside.


    Kal''s eye twitched but he decided to stay with his decision if she is too weak he would take her with him damn the consequences.


    Onyx- "Well now that that''s all settled we can talk about a few things."


    Onyx jumped where Steph was sitting previously. Kal looked at her curiously and was slightly hoping this wasn''t another case about his views. He already said he''d try he wasn''t in the mood to repeat himself.


    Onyx- "What we need to talk about is how you need to progress from now on. But first check to see if you had any gains from that last engagement."


    Kal forgot to check for anything even though he could slightly recall a blue screen or two he didn''t really think much on them. But with Onyx reminder he checked to see what they are.

    After showing Onyx the two new skills he gained she nodded.


    Onyx- "I thought as much. There''s no way the system would have weapons as useful as these excluded. Which means that your world is going to have skills that never even appeared in mine. Which is lovely! Anyway lets move on. First I want to explain things known as hidden effects. Hidden effects are exactly as they sound. In any skill that doesn''t exactly explain what it does there are hidden effects. These skills are generally the self-explainable skills like Archery, Knife mastery, swordsmanship, etc. You see the higher these are the stronger their hidden effects are. Lets use Archery for example. Lets saw you have two people both at level 10 with identical stats. One has Archery at Beginner the other has it at intermediate. Now both shoot with the same bow and arrow at a creature and both hit the exact same spot. The one with intermediate kills in one hit while the other takes several more shots. This is what I mean by hidden effects. Damage isn''t the only thing that applies here. How and when to shoot or how easily you can pull your bow with familiarity are some other effects. As you have noticed with your blades you take up a natural knife fighting stance. These things are what make skills so scary."


    She stopped to make sure Kal was getting everything. Seeing she had his absolute attention she continued.


    Onyx- "Now heres another example lets take the two individuals and now double everything the one with Beginner archery. Level, stats, etc. But his Archery is still the rank. Now out of the two who do you think would win?"


    Kal- "While I want to say the higher lv one for some reason I get that would be the wrong answer." Kal answered with a grin.


    Oynx- "Correct. Sure the one with Beginner would be faster, stronger, and more durable but the one with intermediate has access to skills. At the beginner rank all the skill does is give a slight boost in damage and familiarity with the weapon. Now sure the beginner could find a skill book or have access to a racial skill or something but I am disregarding those to get my point across. Now don''t think that levels and stats aren''t important because if that beginner was 5 more levels higher he would absolutely decimate his opponent."


    Kal- "Got it so I should try to increase my skills while trying to level."


    Oynx- "Not exactly what I was going for but in a nutshell yea. Currently you should try and focus on leveling your new beginner skill at least one rank as those weapons are damn useful and since there''s a skill for them then that means they are going to have a system form. While those are important though I would highly suggest getting knife mastery up to intermediate, doing so will allow you to get the dual weapons skill. Which will add more perks later down the line. Next during your free time grab one of those wands that grant mp regen that you got from the shamans and constantly cast spark. Trust me it will be well worth it. Lastly you need to work on mana control. Just put mana into your attacks every now and then and you should see some interesting effects while it won''t grant you any skills till advanced it will still be pretty useful."


    Kal- "Thats a whole lot stuff there. It also doesn''t seem like you are done either."


    She floated up and petted Kal''s cheek just as his aunt had done. Kal''s eye twitched in annoyance.


    Oynx- "Correct. You need to pick a style and unfortunately your choices are limited. I am going to say right now the warrior, guardian, paladin, pretty much anything that can take a hit is out for you."


    Kal gave her a puzzled look.


    Onyx- "Do you really think your hp should be as low as it is? You gain 20 hp per point in con after 20 points. Before that you gained ten. Now this was as a human and you had about 600 health I would imagine right? So if we do the math you should have gained 300 health from your con alone. Now add on your levels there should be another 300. Which equals the 600 mentioned before. But these were your stats as a human! You are no longer just human now. For all tense and purposes you should have much higher health but those potions have an annoying side effect not mentioned. There''s a chance your health and mana can be affected in either good or bad ways, you got the latter. The system is hands down one of the biggest sadistic bastards in all of existence. If it were ever to have a corporeal form it would be slaughtered within seconds by billions of creatures."


    Kal- "So don''t get hit seems simple enough."


    Onyx rolled her eyes at his words. She is the reason he has some defense as it was. With his soul form ability he should be able to last a little longer but that was just a band-aid. He needs to be able to take down his opponents quickly or he needs to be able to run away as fast as possible.


    Onyx- "Lastly you need to learn a new skill. I want you to stare at me and use both "Aim" and "Observe"."


    Kal- "What would that do?"


    Onyx narrowed her eyes at him and kept quiet. Kal took the hint. He followed her instructions. He looked dead at her using aim and then observe the result was a blinding amount of info.
