《Mind Over Matter》


 Chapter 1- Awakening

    <u>CHAPTER 1</u>


    It was an average morning; Delta was getting ready to leave for the day. Delta isn¡¯t a very interesting guy at first glance people would just see him as a typical teenager, during days Delta would often daydream whenever he could to escape the limits that reality had, Delta didn¡¯t hate reality because of this he just found it boring and plain. Anyway Delta had finished getting ready for school and was walking to his bus stop on his way he heard a voice that was unfamiliar to him he looked around to try and find where the voice was coming from but was unable to locate it the voice said ¡°do you wish to escape the bland boring world you live in now do you want to change the world to how you see fit?¡± Delta was sure that this wasn¡¯t someone trying to mess with him so he responded in a confident tone ¡°Yes, what did you have in mind?¡± There was a moment of silence and Delta stood completely still wanting to find out what would happen whilst also being a bit concerned about the time as the bus would arrive soon, the voice had then responded with ¡°You may have the power to make dreams become a reality¡± as a ball descended from the sky became level with Delta¡¯s head the voice said ¡°if you truly do want this power all you have to do is touch it, but be warned that your life will not be the same after this happens farewell¡± Delta without hesitation reached out and as soon as he made contact a sudden burst of light happened. Delta didn¡¯t have time to sit and think about what had just happened time was running short and the bus would be leaving any minute now so he rushed as quick as he could and made it just as the bus was about to shut it¡¯s doors. The bus trip was quieter than usual because none of Deltas friends were on the bus this morning they usually all caught the same bus as him so he was never without company. After the quietest bus trip Delta has ever had he got to school and had his first lesson which was PE Delta liked this lesson as it gave him something to do and wasn¡¯t a complete waste of time in his eyes.


    The lesson passed by quickly as it usually does for the things Delta enjoys and it was time for recess Delta wasn¡¯t looking forward to spending this time alone due to all of his friends being absent from the bus, this reason made it all the more of a surprise when Delta looked up to see all of his friends hanging out where they usually go, Delta stormed straight up to them and then shouted ¡°I demand answers now, why weren¡¯t any of you here this morning?¡± they all looked shocked and were surprised to hear that the others came late as well and then Ryan spoke up and said ¡°Well I know you aren¡¯t going to believe me but I was walking to my bus stop and I heard a voice come from nowhere¡± everybody¡¯s reacted at the same time when hearing that and then Baden spoke up and said ¡°That actually happened to me to and of course I thought that it was one of you trying to mess with me so I looked around and sure enough the voice was coming from seemingly nowhere¡± at this time Andrew said ¡°did the voice by any chance offer to let you soar into the skies freely?¡± Baden responded ¡°No, I was told I could become one with technology and then an orb from the sky came down¡± all of a sudden Zac come into the conversation and says ¡°The voice told me that if I really wanted to do this all I had to do was touch the orb¡± Connor finished off Zac¡¯s sentence and said ¡°but your life will never be the same well at least that¡¯s what it told me¡± Delta then asked ¡°So did you all do it, did you touch it?¡± Ryan intervened and said ¡°Well the information I have says that we were all absent from the bus except Delta so I would imagine we all went through with it and that¡¯s why we came late¡± Baden then went on to say ¡°So Delta I guess you¡¯re the only one from our group that this didn¡¯t happen to, well at least that we can confirm¡± Delta responded with ¡°Actually unlike all of you I had that happen to me and still caught the bus, I am guessing it¡¯s because all of you were trying to piece together what had just happened¡± after that everyone continued to do what they usually do Baden when back onto his phone, Ryan was scrolling through the internet looking for more information he hadn¡¯t seen before, Hayden remained quiet without uttering a word, Zac would bring up interesting facts that nobody cared about, Connor would be with James participating in physical competitions which would usually be races or arm wrestles, Caitlin would be researching the human body and Andrew would usually be towering above everyone. For the rest of the day nobody mentioned the incident that had occurred earlier that day and just went on with all of their days like they would any other.


    The next morning Delta got up to the sound of his ringtone, he was just adjusting to being awake and answered his phone he answered and said ¡°Hello? Who is it?¡± the voice from the other side was Baden he said in a concerned tone ¡°I am calling you¡± Delta responded ¡°Yes, that¡¯s generally how phones work Baden¡± Baden responded and said, ¡°NO I AM CALLING YOU, I don¡¯t know why but I decided to check my phone and when I grabbed it, it fell into me¡± Delta responded ¡°Fell into you?¡± Baden repeated ¡°Yes, fell into me¡± Delta said ¡°Okay, so let me get this straight you grabbed your phone like you have done every other day and for some reason today it just ¡®fell¡¯ inside you¡­ alright then how are you talking to me right now then?¡± Baden responded with a tone of frustration ¡°I already told you I AM CALLING YOU, like my body has called you I don¡¯t even know why it called you to be perfectly honest if I were going to call anybody it would be Ryan because he would probably have a better idea of what to do than me¡± Delta responded ¡°Alright I¡¯m going to hang up now I really hope you find your phone or whatever and I will see you at school, bye¡± Delta then hung up the call and went back to sleep. About 2 hours later Delta¡¯s alarm went off for Delta to get up in the morning, as he was getting ready he remembered Baden calling and thought about it more and realised that he had genuine concern in his voice when he had called also the fact that he would normally be better than that at explaining things instead of just saying that his phone fell into him, at this point Delta had remembered what Baden said about the orb the day before ¡°I was told I could become one with technology¡± this got Delta thinking that if Baden was genuinely having a problem that means he became one with technology just like the voice said and that would mean everyone else would be going through similar situations, but then Delta realised that nothing had happened to him yet so it would be unlikely that this would be the case at all.


    Delta was on the way to his bus trying to figure out what the voice had been saying the day before about changing the world and making dreams come true or something like that Deltas memory was a bit foggy at this point so he couldn¡¯t remember the exact details. Delta was way earlier than normal to his bus stop due to him being prepared for something to happen like the events that had occurred in the previous day, so whilst waiting Delta did what he would do all the time and daydream this time he was imagining himself up against a swordsman and so he gave himself a sword as well to have an appropriate weapon for the battle but just as he was about to do battle with the swordsman the bus had arrived and was parked out the front of the curb Delta quickly adapted to reality and was just about to step onto the bus when the bus driver stopped him and said ¡°Hey, no weapons on the bus¡± Delta with a clueless reaction asked ¡°What weapon?¡± he then looked down to his hand to see that he was holding a sword but not just any sword but the sword he was using to fight the swordsman with he put down the sword in a hurry, apologized to the bus driver and quickly got on. When Delta got on the bus he was happy to see his friends also on the bus today he went and sat down next to Ryan as it was the only available seat his head was looking out the window and he gave of a negative feeling, Baden leaned over and asked ¡°So what¡¯s wrong with you?¡± Delta with confusion in his voice replied ¡°What are you talking about do I seem upset I would be asking Ryan he seems like he just found out some horrible news¡± Baden replied ¡°Wait so has nothing negative happened to you today?¡± Delta responded with ¡°Well nothing out of the ordinary except you calling me at like four in the morning thank you very much, oh and the whole sword thing back there¡± Baden asked in a curious tone ¡°Sword thing?¡± Delta replied ¡°Yeah I was daydreaming like usual I was just about to enter combat with this guy and then the bus got here and next thing I know there it is the sword was in my hand the one I was just thinking about¡± Baden with annoyed tone said ¡°So whilst all of us have been going through this you just get to have a sweet sword come out of nowhere, alright where is the sword now?¡± Delta responded ¡°I tossed it the driver said I wasn¡¯t allowed to bring weapons onto the bus with me and I was in too much of a panic to think of anything else so I threw it away and went straight onto the bus¡±


    The bus arrived at the school, everyone got off and headed to the usual spot to go hang out Ryan who would normally be overly cheerful headed there with the look on his face that shows fear, Delta went up to him and asked what was wrong he simply responded ¡°It¡¯s happening again and again why can¡¯t I escape it, I have to relieve all of the worst moments of my life¡± he then turned to Delta nervously and asked ¡°Do you know how that feels to relive all of your worst fears every time you blink? DO YOU¡± Delta backed away and went to ask Zac how this had affected him he went on to explain how he can¡¯t have a shower anymore because he ends up growing gills and nearly dies, Delta backed off and went back to Baden and said ¡°I have a feeling that the whole your phone falling into you wasn¡¯t a prank was it?¡± Baden replied with ¡°I don¡¯t know what would make you think that at all maybe the fact I also tried making toast this morning and guess what? I AM A TOASTER NOW!¡± Delta who was trying to hold back his laughter asked ¡°What are you?¡± that second toast popped out from Baden¡¯s arm and Delta burst into tears and couldn¡¯t stop laughing Baden angrily replied ¡°Yeah, laugh now we haven¡¯t even got to see what happens to you yet I hope yours is the worst of all¡± Delta walks away to Connor who is still challenging James to physical competitions and as Delta watches from the sidelines they start to go at an arm wrestle which usually ends up with them being almost equal in strength as the countdown gets to zero there was no time between the start and James smashing Connor¡¯s hand into the table whilst at the same time leaving the metal table highly damaged with very clear indication of the winner, James was shocked he wasn¡¯t prepared for that outcome and then before he had any more time to react Connor had challenged him to a race, James who was still up on the last victory thought that he was unstoppable and was ready and so the countdown started and Delta was at the ending point, when the countdown had got to zero a similar result occurred except instead of James this time it was Connor and all along the ground where the race had occurred you could see his footprints meters apart from each other and imprinted in the ground by at least 10 cm for each step, Delta decided to check on the remaining people whilst he let them understand what had just happened to them. Delta then went on to try and find Hayden but couldn¡¯t find him anywhere and before he could ask anyone else if they had seen him the bell went for first lesson Connor and James were pumped when heading to class as they were excited to try out their new power in PE and see the reactions on everyone else¡¯s face, Ryan went to class without blinking, Baden had tried to use his computer and absorbed that as well, Zac was trying to find out what other stuff he could do and Delta was trying to wrap his head around what was going on.


    Delta was in math daydreaming like normal he was imagining himself in a boxing match when suddenly a phone appears in his hand in the middle of the fight and before the bizarre dream could progress any further the teacher shouted ¡°DELTA ARE YOU LISTENING¡± Delta got up and looked around the teacher said ¡°I told you to put your phone away and I get that you''re trying to set a fashion statement or something like that but please put those gloves away to¡± Delta was confused like he had been for this whole day so far and when he looked down sure enough he had the phone and gloves that he was just thinking about in his hands, he thought to himself that this mustn¡¯t just be a one time thing as it happened with the sword earlier and now this so he put the stuff in his bag barely as he didn¡¯t originally have enough room for them, Delta planned to try some of the stuff he was thinking about at recess to see how this power of his works.


    Meanwhile Ryan was in class and had given into the need for blinking and had his traumatising flashbacks but at this point he had decided maybe he didn¡¯t have to fear them anymore and maybe what happened in the past shouldn¡¯t be dwelled on and he could just move on so whenever he blinked he went through every single point of his life at once giving him the power to remember anything that he has experienced, so he tried blinking with the knowledge that he didn¡¯t need to worry about the past and when he did blink he still had the fears to live through but he wasn¡¯t scared of them anymore because it wasn¡¯t as scary to him as he had gotten used to it after seeing it all day. Ryan was much happier and when he went back to doing his work he was able to have the information to answer all of his questions in a single blink so he was able to plow through all of his work with ease.


    In the computer building Baden is doing IT and is stressing out because he can¡¯t touch any device without absorbing it, Baden tries to simply stay at the back of the room and stay out of sight for the lesson. About 10 minutes into the lesson Baden can hear the teacher say ¡°Alright then class please bring out your work to show me how far you¡¯ve gotten in it¡±, Baden anxiously waits as the teacher nears closer and closer to him and after he had absorbed it doesn¡¯t know what to do so when the teacher got over to him he asked Baden ¡°Where is your computer?¡± Baden replied ¡°Sir I don¡¯t know how to tell you this but I have seemed to have absorbed it into my being¡± the teacher responds ¡°Into your being huh?¡± Baden responds ¡°Yes into my being¡± the teacher says, ¡°Baden you didn¡¯t do your work did you?¡± and Baden replies ¡°No I didn¡¯t but that¡¯s beside the point I¡¯m lying to you I swear¡± the teacher looks at Baden with a disappointed look and before he can say it Baden says it for him ¡°Yeah I know the principal''s office¡± Baden walked to the principal''s office with disappointment about his belongings and then thought what it be like if his phone screen would just appear on his arm, sure enough when he imagined it there was a phone on his arm suddenly things didn¡¯t seem so bad for Baden with this newly acquired knowledge.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation.


    James and Connor were in PE and the class was getting ready for volleyball they were doing stretches and talking to each other about strategy whilst the other two members of their team stayed back and talked amongst themselves. The teacher said the game was starting and the opposite team was serving they did an underarm serve and straight away Connor grabbed James by the waist and jumped up to have him level with the ball and in an instant the ball came crashing down, there was a hole in the floor where Connor jumped and there was a dent where the ball collided with the floor as well. The two were ready for seconds but the other team was trying to process what just happened in that last turn and asked to sit out, Connor and James weren¡¯t satisfied and proclaimed that they could take on anyone at the school so they did, everyone would try and challenge them but after the first serve the others always quit due to the overwhelming difference in power, speed and skill. So the two were given permission to go and challenge each other to more physical competitions for the rest of the lesson as it fit under the category for this particular area.


    Zac was in photography in the middle of the oval taking pictures with the rest of his class when suddenly he starts to feel rain and from a positive class of taking pictures it became a raining horror story, as he had to rush to shelter before he died of suffocation he found a sheltered spot and started to think of a way out of this and then he imagined that it was cold so he grew fur to cover him, this cancelled out the gills that adapt to his surroundings which gave him perfect cover so he went back out into the rain and sure enough he remained in his fur coat, people in his class even started to complement Zac on his new look, Zac thought nothing of it as long as he wouldn¡¯t die from the rain he was happy and conveniently warm as well.


    Back to math class the bell had just gone for lunch and Delta had been thinking of what he planned to do now that he had this space of time first off he was going to find Sam, Hayden and Andrew Delta put his hands on the back of his head and looked up and said ¡°Well just Sam and Hayden left to find¡± as he saw Andrew flying in the sky about the usual spot to hang out. When Delta got to the spot everything seemed different but right as it should at the same time Ryan was scrolling the web again, Baden was on his phone again now with it in his arm, Zac was in the rain with his new fur coat, James and Connor were doing as they usually do, Andrew was too high in the sky to talk to and Hayden and Sam were nowhere to be seen until Delta was grabbed from behind and when he turned around he didn¡¯t see anyone there it happened again and nobody was there it didn¡¯t take long for him to piece it together so now Delta had the perfect opportunity to test his theory and so he closed his eyes and imagined that he had a can of spray paint, when he opened his eyes there it was right in his hands, nobody could notice this happen so when he got grabbed this time instead of looking to see nobody he decided to spray there instead and it revealed Sam and Hayden snickering at what they had just done. Delta asked them ¡°What were you two doing and when I ask this Sam you know who I am asking so don¡¯t give me no answer¡± Sam responded ¡°Well Hayden came to school invisible today I know this because I have been trying out my new power where I can absorb things and become made of the same material so I tried it on Hayden and one thing led to another we were invisible up till now but to be perfectly honest I don¡¯t know if he knew how to turn back due to him not being able to communicate with me at all when invisible I¡¯m amazed I got this far.


    The bell for the last lesson had sounded and everyone heading back to their classrooms Baden had somehow managed to absorb Ryan¡¯s watch with Ryan saying ¡°alright come on 5 meters at all times could you imagine if that happened to my computer I wouldn¡¯t know what to do without my computer here and able to be accessed with ease¡± Baden bursts into tear and runs of towards his next class and Ryan travels closely behind him analysing his surroundings for future reference. James decides that the only way he will keep up with Connor¡¯s speed is if he uses his upper body strength to his advantage so he got on his hands and started doing a handstand to get to his next lesson with incredible speed. Connor kept up right beside him with his speed easily keeping up with him, Sam was absorbing all sorts of materials on the way and even absorbed a bin so he could scare people that walked by instead of going to class because Sam never really went to classes that much anyway, Hayden being relieved to be out of his invisible state decided he should go to lesson and maybe this time he would get marked on the role although it was very unlikely for that to happen. Andrew was still flying around the top and Delta shouted up to him ¡°Do you have a free as well if so are you just going to remain circling up there for it¡± Andrew replied ¡°No I have a very important lesson now but I don¡¯t know how to get down I have been up here all day¡­. Could you please get help¡± that moment Delta realised this would be the perfect time to use his new power to help as first he thought of making a crane but instead he decided something a bit more fun. The floor was layered with trampolines and Delta had a giant fly swatter and Andrew looked down and shouted ¡°Don¡¯t you dare come on where did you even get that come on please get help and don¡¯t try this really impractical and dangerous thing please, without another word being said Delta with all of his might flung the giant fly swatter forward and managed to hit Andrew out of the sky and get him to land safely on the trampolines that were put down earlier. Delta then asked Andrew ¡°Do you have any idea what I am supposed to do with all of these trampolines¡± Andrew responded ¡°Back where you got them from you idiot¡± Delta replied ¡°Well that¡¯s kind of difficult when I created these from my mind¡± Andrew looked at Delta with a face full of doubt said ¡°Are you okay I mean that seems a bit to crazy for me to believe and I was just flying around now doesn¡¯t that paint a pretty clear picture of just how bizarre this whole situation is¡± Delta couldn¡¯t respond in time as Andrew rushed of remembering that he has a lesson to be at.


    Delta spent the time he had available trying to see what could bring into reality, Baden was for the first time ever happy to be in math class as it meant that he wouldn¡¯t have to use a device as he was still unsure on how he was meant to use his laptop through his body, Ryan who was in the same class as Baden had already finished his work that wasn¡¯t due for another week, so he decided to read the textbooks to further the amount of information in his memory. Connor and James were anxious for their lesson to end; James had broken all of his pencils from frustration as he wasn¡¯t able to understand the work and Connor had bent the table legs from force of habit, as he would have usually wrapped his legs around the table legs whenever he was trying to think. Hayden was in English still covered in spray paint with Sam nowhere in sight, the teacher shouted ¡°Hayden, why are you covered in spray paint?¡± when Hayden heard that he was being shouted at he immediately wanted to hide and as he thought it he did it Hayden was nowhere in sight the teacher then apologized to the class and said ¡°Sorry class I must be seeing things I could have sworn Hayden was here covered in spray paint, I think I should stop staying up late when marking work¡± Hayden was still in the class he had managed to trigger his invisibility again and decided to get out of class and go find Sam to see if he could help, so he put his bag on and walked out of the class and when the teacher saw a bag floating out of the room he said with desperation in his voice ¡°IT¡¯S NOT JUST ME WHO CAN SEE THIS IS IT?¡± after hearing the teacher shout again it startled Hayden and his bag vanished with him, the class was left doubting the teachers current ability to teach. Hayden began to search for Sam he wondered where he would be, Sam was never one to not attend a lesson so Hayden thought there had to be a good reason for it, he saw Sam blending into his surroundings with ease and was confirming that it was definitely Sam as when someone walked by he would either jump out and scare them or he would speak to them and end up having them run away. Hayden approached him and grabbed Sam¡¯s hand and thought about disappearing to get Sam invisible as well Hayden had discovered that Sam could now see him as if they were now on the same plain, Sam said to Hayden ¡°You went invisible in the middle of class didn¡¯t you?¡± Hayden nodded, Sam then said ¡°And the teacher now thinks he¡¯s gone mad doesn¡¯t he?¡± Hayden nodded, Sam then went on to say ¡°And you came to me hoping to help you with your problem because even if you could find Ryan he wouldn¡¯t be able to communicate with you at all¡± Hayden nodded, Sam then said with a prideful tone ¡°Well friend you came to the wrong place because I have no idea how to solve your problem, well actually now that I think about it after school we could find Ryan and I could ask him if he has any idea how to stop this or at least give you better control over it¡± Hayden nodded, sat down and watched as Sam was now pretending to be a ghost haunting the school.


    Zac was in science class and was finished with assignment earlier that expected and had heaps of time to spare to he did some further investigation into his power and figured that it was depending on the situation he was in at the time his body would change to an appropriate form that specialized in situations like this, he then went on to piece together the reason why he grew a fur coat when he envisioned himself being cold and why he grew gills when in contact with water as annoying as it was Zac decided to make scenarios in his head to see what would happen to his body and what forms he would take on, he had to leave the classroom first so he asked the teacher if he could go to the toilets, Zac didn¡¯t care if he was missing class as he was already ahead of everyone else so there wasn¡¯t much more he would have done anyway and at least this was he is keeping on the right track with science and mutations. Zac got on the oval and tried multiple scenarios to play with in his head; he first tried thinking he was in a pitch black cave by covering his eyes he then felt with his hands his eyes expand and suddenly the darkness of his hands were bright and so he took his hands away and everything everywhere was really bright for a moment before turning back to normal. Zac then tried imagining himself falling from the top of a building with no way to help himself then just as he had a quarter of the building left to the ground he grew wings and the sudden growth had snapped Zac back into reality and when he looked back he had giant wings that grew out of his back he thought that it would just go away after he stopped imagining the scenario but the wings stayed, the bell went for the end of the day everyone came rushing out and a mass of people were coming across the oval when Zac needed to go the way they were all coming from he managed to get control of his wings and started to move them enough to get him in the air, the people all passed by and Zac said to himself ¡°I think I¡¯m really starting to like this power now¡± and then it started to rain again and his wings retracted and he mutated his gills again and he went face first into the mud and said ¡°I think I¡¯m going to take back my last statement¡± he then proceeded to think about how cold it was and envisioned himself in the North Pole so he could counter the water form and prevent his suffocation.


    Everyone was gathered in the usual spot to hang out until their bus came to pick them up so they all went on about their day and what had happened. Ryan was immediately confronted with the voice of Sam who was nowhere to be seen at the time and then blinked piecing everything together and said ¡°Sam you have the ability of mimicry, the ability to copy something just by touching it and Hayden, you have the ability of invisibility the ability to disappear at will¡± Sam said ¡°Yeah¡± but before he could say anything else Ryan said ¡°But Hayden doesn¡¯t yet know how to control his powers yet so he came to you hoping for help from the only one that can understand him, then he brought you into a plain where you could see him and then came to the conclusion that you will need Ryan to help you out with this one. Does that basically sum it up?¡± Sam replied ¡°Wow you¡¯re good at this well do you have any ideas on how to get him to stop being invisible and also me because for some reason I can¡¯t turn myself back¡± Ryan replied ¡°Well obviously you can¡¯t turn back because it wasn¡¯t just you absorbing his state of invisibility this time instead he is the one responsible for it so from the everyone else has been accessing their powers I would imagine you just have to think about it happening hard enough and it will happen¡± Sam then said ¡°Alright Hayden you heard the guy with the brain you just have to envision in and it will happen¡± in the next five seconds Sam and Hayden appeared out of thin air, Sam went on to say ¡°Thanks Ryan you¡¯re a lifesaver¡± Ryan didn¡¯t pay much attention to Sam thanking him instead he went on to ask ¡°Hey have any of you seen Delta around I think he may be in trouble due to his power¡± Baden came up to Ryan with a positive tone and said ¡°What do you mean he¡¯s alright he probably just got help behind in class again you know how it is with him so unpredictable¡± Ryan looked at Baden and said ¡°Yes Baden that would be the case if it wasn¡¯t for Delta not having any lesson right now I¡¯m afraid his power may have been too much to handle¡± Sam said ¡°Oh right doesn¡¯t he have the power to create spray paint cans at will?¡± Zac came in to say whilst covered head to toe in mud ¡°Wow what a simple power yet it would still be easier to have than mine¡± Baden then proceeded to say ¡°Wait a minute he was saying something about a sword appearing in his hand just before he got onto the bus I just imagined that he was still mocking me or wanted to sound relevant due to everything else that has been going on¡± Ryan then went on to say ¡°Well to be honest I think that Delta has the most powerful power out of us all also making it a dangerous weapon in the hands of him¡± Zac then said ¡°What do you mean dangerous weapon what power does Delta even have?¡± Ryan replied ¡°He has the power of bringing dreams to reality well that¡¯s just must theory now none of us can tell Delta this until we can confirm it okay?¡± everyone nodded hesitantly. Delta came walking to the group with Andrew flying with very smooth control by his side, Delta said ¡°Hey guys sorry I was late and we don¡¯t have that much time to talk now but there was a trampoline incident that I had to take care of¡± Ryan said ¡°It¡¯s okay buddy but we should be heading to the bus now¡± the bus took everyone home and Delta talked to Andrew For the trip home and talked to him about everything he had found out, they all got off the bus and went home for the afternoon to further develop their skills.

    During that day in school not so far away similar events had been taking place but didn¡¯t turn out the same as Delta¡¯s school, instead the students that had gotten their powers at this school had a different approach towards how they would use their newly obtained powers instead of trying to figure them out they were confronted with nightmares and visions of their worst fears this was similar to what had happened to Ryan but less intense as it happened less frequently. The school consisted of people around the same age group and had similar powers to those from the school that Delta and his friends go to, Dylan was the name of the first one to get this opportunity to have power the voice was similar but more deep and dark than the one that spoke to Delta and his friends and instead of offering him this power by touching an orb this schools power users weren¡¯t given much of a choice they were told ¡°If you wish to live step into the darkness face your fears and you will get powers beyond your wildest imagination¡± Dylan without a reaction to this news stepped right into the darkness without looking back, the voice then said ¡°Well done you have demonstrated your control over fear now you may use fear to control others farewell¡± Dylan after this was enveloped in darkness and then the darkness disappeared and there was no sign of it, unlike what happened to Delta and his friends the powers didn¡¯t take till the next day to start developing, instead they started to have an impact straight after they stepped into the darkness.


    Dylan walked to school and met up with his friends on the way, Dylan highly resembled Delta in the way that they had similar appearances, they had similar interests and at one point they were even friends that was until they had to leave for high school instead of everyone going to the same school Delta and his friends were fortunate enough to get into the better school, Dylan and the friends at his school however were not so lucky as they didn¡¯t have enough room at Delta¡¯s school for any more students so they had to say their farewells and planned to see each other again in the future they didn¡¯t have any way of keeping in touch but they promised that they would see each other again as they were best friends.


    Dylan had stopped by all of his friends houses on the way to school first was Quintin who was the smart one of his group, the next of his friends to pick up were Cat and Katie, Katie was always had an obsession with trying to get boys to notice her and Cat had been addicted to finding out more about the darkness more specifically shadows and how they work. The next of Dylan¡¯s friends on the way to school was Naomi she was addicted to studying all different types of creatures more specifically creatures that take the form of beasts that have been either thought of as legend or worshipped by entire religions. The next person was waiting out the front of his house lighting matches he was Jessie his fondness for flames and seeing things burn was kind of worrying but Dylan and his friends knew that Jessie was skilled enough with fire to not harm himself or them. Will was jumping of the roof of his house Dylan could see this from five houses down the road he went up to Will and asked ¡°What are you doing that¡¯s dangerous do you want to get yourself killed you idiot!¡± Will responded in a confident and defiant tone ¡°I¡¯m sure you would know this by now but I am trying my latest experiment I want to test the different between the time of jumping off the roof with nothing on and then the time of jumping off the roof with a bag full of bricks¡± Dylan responded with a pissed off tone ¡°ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF NOBODY CAN LIVE A FALL LIKE THAT ONTO SOLID CONCRETE¡± Will said quietly ¡°Sorry I was just trying to prove my research and further my investigation¡± Dylan who was now calmed down responded with ¡°It¡¯s okay just please if you are doing anything like that again consult us first, we don¡¯t want you getting killed you idiot¡± Will nodded and they headed to the next house. Next was Nathan he was kind of a nervous wreck and a pushover so when he came out Will spoke up loudly and said ¡°Hey small fry what¡¯s going on¡­ oh are you going stop me small fry¡± Will then proceeded to fake him out with a punch and made Nathan flinch, as this happened Dylan came up behind will and hit him upside the head and said ¡°Come on will, we don¡¯t have any time to waste thanks to that little stunt you pulled earlier we still have to stop by two more of our friends houses. So the group got to Elisa¡¯s house and they waited out the front as they could hear the sounds of shouting and then saw Elisa storm out of her house and say in a calm tone ¡°Oh¡­ hey guys how long have you been here¡± Dylan said ¡°Long enough now come on we have to go¡± the group had one last place to go. They finally arrived at the last house it was where Dakota lived, Dakota came out well dressed compared to the rest of his friends and said ¡°Would any of you like refreshments before we leave?¡± Dylan said ¡°No time come on we have places to be if we want to get a good seat in class¡± Dakota replied ¡°Okay then let me just go put this towel back¡± Dylan replied ¡°Didn¡¯t you hear me before there is no time to spare come on we have to go and anyway it goes along with the whole butler look¡± Dakota with a confused look followed the group and headed to school.


    The group continued on and came to a stop when they heard the voice that Dylan had encountered earlier, Dylan said ¡°This guy again, HEY YOU WHERE IS MY POWER¡± the voice replied ¡°Oh you again I didn¡¯t expect to have you here but to speed along the process you must believe in it and it will take form that is all I will tell you and seeing as you are here you can explain the deal to your friends farewell¡± as the voice disappeared and the shadow from earlier had appeared and so Dylan said ¡°Step into the darkness trust me I did it earlier and I¡¯m still here I mean come on how much worse could it get¡± all of them without hesitation walked into the darkness but instead of what Dylan had expected they had all been consumed by the darkness, Dylan¡¯s face had the expression of fear something he never thought he would have to experience again as his only fear was losing those close to him. Dylan started having tears run down his face he couldn¡¯t believe what had just happened everything important to him gone in second, he remembered what the voice had told him earlier about believing it and taking form he decided he would use his fear of loss and imagine the gateway to darkness and as he envisioned it hard enough all of his friends were in his sight. Dylan had been relieved to see all of his friends safe and with him and said ¡°Thank goodness you are all okay I¡¯m so sorry that happened¡± everyone with a confused face and Quintin came out and asked ¡°What do you mean we just walked into it saw a light show wait let me correct myself a dark show and the darkness left and we have just been here for the last five minutes with you because you just fell down and passed out if anything we should be asking if you are okay¡± Dylan said ¡°Yeah I¡¯m fine sorry let¡¯s go we may just make it in time¡± the group then walked to school without a word being uttered. A bus drove by next to the group on their way to school and it was headed towards Delta¡¯s school and over the bus was Andrew flying in the sky fighting against the wind, then Connor came blazing through over taking the bus within an instant and then James who proceeded to do the same thing but on his hands and with a noticeable difference in speed. Dylan and his friends were speechless and then Naomi said ¡°So Quintin you¡¯re the smart one of the group could you please just explain what just happened and please don¡¯t skip out on the details¡± Quintin who was just as surprised as the rest said ¡°I think we may have just had the confirmation of powers existing in this world¡± Jesse with doubt in his voice said ¡°Yeah sure that¡¯s it I really thought that you were meant to be the smart one of the¡± before he could finish speaking he was interrupted by Dylan who said ¡°No, stop he¡¯s right¡± everyone showed a shocked reaction and then started to show doubt and then Nathan spoke up and said ¡°But how powers don¡¯t exist this is the real world come on stop trying to mess with us¡± Elisa then said in reply to that ¡°Well we did just see Dylan experience fear so as far as I¡¯m involved anything could happen after that¡± Dakota said with fear in plain sight ¡°You¡¯re right anything could happen and the darkness in the middle of daylight appearing¡± Will then went on to say ¡°Does that mean we could get powers, wait Dylan what exactly happened the first time you heard that voice¡± Dylan took in a deep breath and explained the whole encounter with darkness for the first time and after everyone was sure they would get powers they were almost all completely convinced of this, all except Quintin the one who brought up the idea, he went on to say ¡°It is scientifically impossible for that to happen, powers can exist though¡± Jesse then went on to say ¡°Well how can science support that happening huh? Exactly we¡¯re left with no other choice but to believe this¡± Naomi said ¡°Well what does Dylan think of all this?¡± Dylan replied ¡°Well the voice from earlier gave us a hint remember, it said you have to believe and it will take form that may have just been directed at me but I still think that we can use that piece of advice to master this¡± Will said ¡°Well okay what are we meant to believe in powers because I am convinced at this point but still nothing is happening¡± Dylan remembered what had happened earlier when his friends had been getting taken away and he had to use fear to his advantage and open a way out so then he said ¡°How about we try doing something related to what we specialize in like how I am known for being fearless in the face of danger¡± Elisa then went on to say under her breath ¡°was fearless at least¡± ending with a little snicker, Dylan shouted ¡°JUST DO IT OKAY¡± Elisa was scared back into reality and asked ¡°okay what is my so called specialty¡± everyone looked as if they were surprised to hear that she didn¡¯t already know Quintin went on to say ¡°Well obviously it¡¯s your emotional state you aren¡¯t exactly stable you know¡± Katie and Cat went on to say ¡°you really shouldn¡¯t have done that¡± as Elisa¡¯s head immediately turned around to where Quintin was and had an infuriated look on her face, Quintin was backed up until his back was up against the fence of a house and was scared of the thought of what might happen next when she went to hit him Quintin cowered down and let off a massive wave of energy from his body that knocked everyone except Will down Dylan then went on to say ¡°I guess it¡¯s confirmed then powers exist and by walking into the darkness we each got a power¡± Quintin said ¡°Well I think I got it¡± Elisa got up and asked ¡°You got what?¡± everyone else was as confused as Elisa and then she said ¡°What were you going to say?¡± suddenly it came to Dylan the way that he used his power was from fear and the same thing happened with Quintin so he said ¡°Quintin was just going to say about how he was the one you were angry at, when what Will did was like hundreds of times worse¡± Will looked over at Dylan and said ¡°You do realise I will make you pay for this¡± Elisa then twitched and the next second she was rushing towards him will couldn¡¯t defend himself he was too scared to do anything he put his hand out and suddenly Elisa was up in the air Quintin then said ¡°Oh I see so that¡¯s it don¡¯t worry I will keep quiet about it¡± Dylan said ¡°Thanks, now Will put her down¡± Will had no idea what Dylan was talking about but when he looked up he saw Elisa in the air and he said ¡°I don¡¯t think I have enough knowledge on the laws of physics quite yet¡± he lowered his arm and as his arm lowered she lowered with it face first on the ground. Dylan then looked at the time and said ¡°Hey if we get to school now we could get there before recess what does everyone think of that?¡± Quintin with a growth in confusion spread across his face went up to Dylan and asked him quietly ¡°What¡¯s the deal I thought we were going to unlock everyone¡¯s powers?¡± Dylan replied ¡°We don¡¯t have to keep it a secret now didn¡¯t you see your little energy field scared the others enough already it was just Will who was unaffected so that¡¯s why we had to do that¡± Quintin replied ¡°So I guess my analysing wasn¡¯t good enough I must improve and further research my powers see ya¡± Quintin went on ahead and sped himself up with energy volleys behind him as if he was a natural at using this power, Will annoyed by the constant shockwaves used a gravitational pull to pull himself ahead of Quintin at rapid speeds.You might be reading a pirated copy.     The group had got to the school and was investigating into their powers first was Cat and Katie who were trying to think of what they were good at Katie asked Cat ¡°So what am I known for?¡± Cat replied in a cheerful tone ¡°Well you¡¯re known for your obsession with boys of course¡± Katie left in confusion said ¡°Okay stand back then I¡¯m going to try and summon me up one hunk of a man¡± Cat did as instructed and stood back expecting it to work waited for a while and Katie gave up and said ¡°Maybe I¡¯m not thinking realistically maybe I have to be in their league what do you think Cat?¡± Cat nodded with excitement to see Katie summon a man.


    Hours passed after Cat was watching Katie try to summon a man and failing each time so Cat suggested ¡°Hey maybe we could try finding out my power I¡¯m pretty sure it would have to do with shadows and stuff so there is no time like the present I better start trying now¡± Cat envisioned her shadow coming off of the ground to stand up next to her and it worked Katie said ¡°Even your power could get you a man that¡¯s not fair¡± Cat said ¡°Well actually it¡¯s a shadow that takes orders from me¡± Katie said with a sound of sadness ¡°The perfect man¡± Cat giggled and said ¡°Well silly we know that your power has to do with your obsession over guys maybe you have to be around a boy to use it?¡± Katie looked up and started to happier and said ¡°Well there is no time like the present let''s get a guy to ask¡± Cat was grabbed by the arm and dragged around the school to the place where the guys are. Cat said ¡°How about him he seems nice?¡± Katie went up to the boy and said ¡°Hey would you do me a favour and come with me please?¡± the boy was in the middle of saying no but as soon as he looked into her eyes he agreed and moved along with her, Katie had taken the boy around the corner and was lost she didn¡¯t know what to do next she asked the boy to stay there for a bit while she went to go do something and that she would be back later, the boy simply said nodded in a trance like state and continued to stand there.


    Katie went to go look for Quintin to go see if he had any idea what her power could be so she went where he usually was in the library but instead of sitting down like normal he was floating in the air with books surrounding him turning their pages without anyone near them, Katie went up to Quintin and asked him ¡°Quintin could you please help me discover my power?¡± Quintin said ¡°Have you tried anything yet?¡± Katie said ¡°Yes¡± Quintin replied with annoyance in his voice ¡°Well? What have you tried so far?¡± Katie said with confidence ¡°I attempted to summon a boyfriend¡± at that moment Quintin crashed straight onto the ground and started laughing uncontrollably, Katie said ¡°Hey stop that what are you laughing at¡± Quintin didn¡¯t stop laughing and his laughing grew louder as she didn¡¯t realise what was wrong with her previous statement, Katie had had enough she screamed Quintin got up still laughing she made eye contact with Quintin and said ¡°Stop laughing and tell me what was so funny about that¡± Quintin stopped laughing and said in a monotone voice ¡°I was laughing at you thinking that you could summon a boyfriend just because you like boys¡± Katie then proceeded to ask ¡°Alright now what do you think my power is?¡± Quintin had managed to snap out of the hypnotic state he was in and said ¡°Your power is charm magic now leave me alone¡± Quintin then proceeded to float again and the books in the library continued to turn pages with anyone near them.


    Katie stormed out of the library and saw Cat being carried by four shadow figures of her and said ¡°Do you need a lift?¡± Katie said ¡°No I have to figure out what charm magic is do you have a clue?¡± Cat crossed her arms and said ¡°I don¡¯t believe I do sorry maybe it could mean good luck charm?¡± Katie then went on to be overwhelmed with joy and said ¡°Yes that must be it¡± Cat wasn¡¯t so sure of it though and said ¡°Hey maybe you could ask that guy you left standing back at that place earlier¡± Katie with a shocked reaction to this news said ¡°Wait he¡¯s still there I hope he doesn¡¯t hate me now he was such a good listener¡­ wait a minute he was maybe too good a listener¡± Cat had just looked up the meaning for charm on her phone and said ¡°I think that you may have the power to sound like you have really good ideas¡± Katie replied with ¡°Well I think it¡¯s something like that well let¡¯s go home I¡¯ve had enough of school for the day¡± Cat said ¡°Yeah all of that boy summoning really takes it out of you right?¡± Katie nodded and they left the school gates.


    Jesse had been paranoid for the whole day because he knew what made him special it was his love of fire he made sure to keep his hands away from him at all times and when was having a vision of what could go wrong and he shot fire from his hands in reality he had lit his shoes on fire and was starting to panic so he ripped them off and watched as they burned down to nothing but burnt rubber. Jesse decided that the best plan of action was to ask someone else for advice he knew that Dylan was never usually around during a school day but he knew that Quintin was usually reading up about stuff at the library so he went there as fast as possible, when he got there he said Quintin floating and before he could even say anything Quintin said ¡°Welcome I was expecting you to arrive I¡¯m assuming you still don¡¯t have any control over your power yet do you?¡± Jesse replied in a confident voice ¡°Well I think I know how to use my power now I just have to have it in my head happening and it will happen isn¡¯t that right?¡± Quintin with a surprised look on his face said ¡°Well that was unexpected I didn¡¯t think you would progress this far in such little time¡± Jesse responds with ¡°Such little time you do realise we have been at school for over an hour and you have practically mastered your skill¡± Quintin responds ¡°Oh that much time has passed already my bad anyway I haven¡¯t mastered my skill there is still so much I can do with it that I haven¡¯t figured out yet, anyway you probably still need my help with learning your new power and it just so happens I could use your power and put it to use with my power¡± Jesse replied with ¡°Awesome thanks for helping me, but wait a minute why would we need to combine our powers together?¡± Quintin sighed then proceeded to say ¡°Well we know that with these powers we are still going to have our fair share of troubles and I¡¯m pretty sure that¡¯s why we are all practising without powers and getting to know how to use them but of course I could be wrong but I would like to stay prepared for the worst because alone I¡¯m not really good in combat but with you on the other hand we would make an unstoppable tag team, so what do you say would you like to further our team¡± Quintin held out his hand and Jesse accepted his idea and Quintin said ¡°Alright then let the training commence¡± Jesse said ¡°Okay so what do I have to do first up¡± Quintin said ¡°Let¡¯s first go outside that would be a better place to do this don¡¯t want to risk lighting the books on fire do we¡±


    Quintin and Jesse had walked outside of the library and were standing a room distance away from each other Jesse shouted ¡°OKAY WHAT NOW¡± the next second Jesse heard a voice in his head it was Quintin ¡°He said let¡¯s talk to each other through the mind now okay I¡¯m pretty sure I have enabled you to talk to me with our minds¡± Jesse then attempted to use his mind to communicate and said ¡°Okay I think this is working what now?¡± Quintin replied by saying ¡°Get me with your fire go all out and try to defeat me, and before you try asking if I¡¯m sure about this I am have accounted for the possibilities so don¡¯t worry we can go at each other with everything we got¡± Jesse took an unusual battle stance with his hands by his sides, Quintin was assessing the stance and got into his own as he lifted off the ground and hovered in the air.

 Chapter 3- Fight of Pyrokenisis

    <u>CHAPTER 3</u>


    So Jesse and Quintin were about to face off against one another with little indication of what to do Jesse thought to himself that he was at a major disadvantage as Quintin was on a whole other level and was probably the most powerful of the group but in order to have better control over his own power he needed the help of Quintin. Jesse said to Quintin through his mind ¡°Okay I¡¯ll take the first move but could you please keep my glasses safe I don¡¯t want to end up breaking them¡± Quintin stayed quiet for a while Jesse thought that maybe he didn¡¯t hear him so he was going to try again but before he could Dakota appeared from next to him grabbing the glasses off of his face and disappearing again Jesse didn¡¯t question it the time was now to start this battle the time was now to prove himself.


    Jesse started his hands that were by his side started to ignite and flames came out of them but the way that it was being used wasn¡¯t just from his hands but all along his legs to so that he could prevent that area from burning instead of battling Quintin had a book just out of the way so that he could note down all of his friends skills and flaws, when Jesse came full speed at Quintin instead of dodging it he pushed him back with a wave of energy to blow him back, Jesse quickly recovered and without thinking he threw volleys of fire at him and none of which were even close to hitting him.


    Jesse thought that if he kept on throwing attacks at him he would eventually hit him, Quintin had observed enough and knew that he wasn¡¯t going to get any knew information unless he got on the offense so on the next barrage of fire balls Quintin stopped them in the middle of the assault and turned them back at Jesse, whilst Jesse now had to fend off the newly turned fireball he was running out of ideas on how to defeat him and then it came to him maybe he wasn¡¯t just able to use fire as a projectile and he could use it in another way, Jesse had successfully avoided being hit by each of Quintin¡¯s shots and was ready to take the offense with his newly formulated plan.


    Jesse put his plan into action straight away by shooting another projectile of fire at him, Quintin caught it in the middle of the attack again but when he looked at Jesse both of his hands were on the ground and in the next second blue flames enveloped Quintin, Jesse wasn¡¯t ready to see if he was okay yet because he knew that he had a way of preventing any harm to the other so whilst he had this window of time where Quintin wouldn¡¯t be able to see he made a fire boosted charge towards him and Quintin took down his shield just in time for a rocket speeded fist straight to the face.


    After that the smoke from Jesse¡¯s fire had dissipated and Quintin was getting up from the ground the words he spoke after that were ¡°Good job that was some fast thinking there I wouldn¡¯t have been able to survive that if I didn¡¯t take precaution earlier¡± Jesse then said ¡°That was overwhelming so when do we start out training anyway?¡± Quintin sighed well we can start planning our combined attacks tomorrow for now I think we should get out of here because we just left burn marks all over the place and I think that is the teachers decide to pay attention for a second we will get in big trouble for this.


    ¡°Oh yeah¡± Jesse said, ¡°I still need my glasses to see can I have them back?¡± Quintin stopped for a while and then Dakota came through a portal and handed them to him and said ¡°Don¡¯t worry not a scratch was left on them, also I have to commend you on your performance out there very unexpected indeed well I will be seeing you¡± Dakota then left and the portal disappeared. Jesse asked ¡°So I¡¯m guessing you have been using your power to talk to Dakota who has now got the power of portals¡± Quintin nodded and said ¡°Is there anything else you need help clarifying because I can tell you anything you are missing from what has been going on¡± so Quintin proceeded to explain everything that has been happening to Jesse and what everyone¡¯s power was to the best of his current information acquired.Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author.     Meanwhile with Elisa and Nathan, ¡°COME ON WE HAVE TO TRY HARDER IF WE WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT OUR POWER IS¡± said Elisa, ¡°But I don¡¯t think we will find it out by sparring with each other¡± said Nathan, ¡°What makes you think that?¡± Elisa said in a toned down voice, ¡°Well it¡¯s just it didn¡¯t work the first five times what do you think will make it work now because we are even more tired out from out previous attempts how about we go with what we have been told and try to envision it happening?¡± said Nathan, ¡°Well¡­ I guess but what was mine again?¡± said Elisa, ¡°Do you just have a death wish against me? It was your emotions don¡¯t ask why try to imagine someone having their emotions changed¡± said Nathan, ¡°Alright I will give it a try so you¡¯re not feeling angry right now are you?¡± said Elisa, ¡°No, wait what no don¡¯t try it on me¡± said Nathan, ¡°To late¡± said Elisa and then she envisioned Nathan becoming angry and out of nowhere a burst of red energy was emitting from Nathan, Elisa said ¡°Well I guess we know what your power is now¡± as Nathan was destroying the area with singular punches it was clear that he was no longer in control of his own actions. Elisa envisioned his emotional state being happy and content it was successful but due to him being in such a state she used up the rest of her energy and passed out, Nathan also passed out due to over exerting himself.


    Dakota came in and grabbed their bodies and took them through his portal on the other side of the portal was Dylan who was watching through a portal which was watching one of his friends training. The bell rang for the end of school and everyone was trying to find Dylan they asked Quintin and he said any moment now and he will be here, about ten seconds went by and he made his entrance through one of Dakota¡¯s portals and said ¡°You have probably been wanting to find me the only ones that were successfully able to get in contact with me were Dakota because he took me to his dimension called the grey space and Quintin was able to talk to me with his newly found power, I have been watching you all closely when you were learning about your powers I thought it would be best not to intervene as Quintin is the most helpful in this situation as my power would just cause more problems¡± Quintin spoke up and asked ¡°What power do you even have anyway?¡± It was silent Dylan said in begrudgingly tone ¡°What do you think I have?¡± Will said ¡°We literally have no idea, that¡¯s why we asked¡± in the next moment Dylan said ¡°Fine you really want to know that bad look behind you¡± he turns around and doesn¡¯t see anything and begins to say ¡°Stop messing with me you tool there¡¯s nothing¡± before he could finish his sentence he turned around and saw a tall figure that resembled that of an alien from an old movie, Will panicked and forcibly pushed himself away from it with his gravity manipulation, the alien then dissipated into a mist of shadows and Will said ¡°What was that do you have to the power to summon aliens, DICK MOVE BRO DICK MOVE¡± Quintin who just had to see more of this asked Dylan ¡°Can you demonstrate again on Jesse I have to see the limits of this power¡± so Dylan said ¡°Very well sorry Jesse but your not going to like this¡± the next second a shadowy mist appeared at everyone¡¯s feet and as it disappeared Jesse let out a scream, the floor was covered in rabbits. Quintin was observing this and seemed surprised to see the rabbits, ¡°How could you Quintin I told you not to tell anybody¡± said Jesse, Quintin said ¡°Impressive you can use the power of fears and form them into reality, I didn¡¯t think that you would be able to use a power like that without prior knowledge of our fears, very interesting¡± Dylan said ¡°Yeah I have the power of fear forming I can also put people into a state of having to face their worst fears¡± Naomi said ¡°Hey I don¡¯t mean to change the topic but do any of you know where Cat and Katie have gone off to?¡± Dakota said ¡°I believe they went home after discovering their powers isn¡¯t that right Dylan?¡± Dylan said ¡°Yeah they did which brings me to my next point I think that we may need to be more prepared for the worst case scenario so I will let you all rest at home for today but tomorrow be ready and out the front by seven in the morning we all got that?¡± Quintin said ¡°I will make sure to tell Katie and Cat they will be ready by tomorrow morning¡± Dylan said to everyone ¡°Well I will see you tomorrow then¡± Dakota then went on to click his fingers and portals appeared under everyone and landed them out the front of their houses, Dylan said ¡°Come on Dakota we have some serious planning to do¡± Dakota nodded as they walked into a portal leading to the greyspace.

 Chapter 4- The hero game

    <u>CHAPTER 4</u>


    Back to Delta the next morning in his bedroom, he had just woken up to a room full of banging and clanging. When he finally adjusted to being awake he was shocked to see a room full of chaos as his crazy dreams had come into the real world, as he saw next to his bed a pile of toasters that reached the top of his roof. Delta had to think of a way to get rid of the mass of toasters next to his bed and he immediately realised that he could call Baden to come over and help him out so he did just that. Ten minutes had passed and Baden had said with a big grin on his face ¡°Wow it¡¯s been ages since you called me over to hang out what should we do first¡± Baden started to list a various amount of technology based things to do as Delta and him walked down the hallway to Delta¡¯s room and when they got there Delta said ¡°Well you see I had this dream last night¡± before he could even continue speaking Baden looked at Delta with a disappointed face and said ¡°You called me over here for the first time in years for toasters what do you expect me to do with them?¡±, ¡°Eat them of course¡± said Delta, ¡°Eat them?¡± asked Baden in a confused voice, ¡°Yes, eat them isn¡¯t that how you got the first toaster into you?¡± said Delta, ¡°I DID NOT EAT MY TOASTER I MERGED WITH IT THERE IS PROBABLY A DIFFERENCE¡± shouted Baden, ¡°Well do that then¡± Delta said whilst directing Baden towards the pile of toasters, Baden walked straight into the pile of toasters and as he walked into them it was as if the fell straight into his body.


    After that Baden was standing where the pile of toasters had once been and said with disappointment ¡°Well this was an experience I¡¯m going to leave now because I just realised I can¡¯t even do anything from my list as I would just absorb it, see you later at school¡±, ¡°Well I guess I will be seeing you then, thanks for the help¡± said Delta as Baden was leaving. Delta then thought to himself how does Baden think we even had enough time to do any of the things on his list, he shrugged off the thought and was ready to put his and his friends powers to good use and he was ready to put this plan into action when he got to school so he could explain it clearly to all of his friends.


    So Delta arrived at school to meet all of his friends there they seemed to have had a lot more improvement with their abilities in the past days since they had gotten them, Caitlin who was absent for a couple days due to sickness asked what she missed Ryan was about to give a detailed analysis on what everyone had been doing in the past couple of days but before he could get a word out Zac came crashing down from the sky with Andrew hovering down to a perfect landing ¡°Wow you really suck at this don¡¯t you¡± said Andrew, ¡°I just think I¡¯m going at this all wrong I think that I am going to need your help Ryan¡± said Zac, Caitlin was speechless and in shock then she snapped out of it for a second and shouted ¡°WHAT DID I MISS OUT ON WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!¡±, Delta had remembered that she was late to school on that day as well but thought that it could be a coincidence so he had to ask to make sure and said ¡°Hey a couple day¡¯s ago did you see an orb come down from the sky and touch it?¡±, ¡°Yeah of course didn¡¯t that happen to all of us?¡± said Caitlin, it took her a while to process and then she had pieced it together, ¡°OH, SO THAT¡¯S IT YOU ALL GOT POWERS FROM THAT¡± said Caitlin in a loud voice.


    Caitlin then went on to complain about how she didn¡¯t have powers and whilst she kept on complaining about this Ryan had the look of an idea as he went on to say ¡°What if your powers have already awoken I mean the powers seem like something that would be unique to each person and what they are specifically known for¡±, ¡°I guess you may be right but what if I don¡¯t get powers?¡± Caitlin said as becoming more upset, ¡°I highly doubt that would happen because if you are telling the truth and you did come across that voice like we did then you are probably just needing to trigger it somehow¡± said Zac who was still laying down on the ground after his crash, Caitlin cheered up and went off by herself Baden confused about what she was doing said ¡°Do any of you know what she¡¯s going over there for when it would be so much easier to just Google it¡±, ¡°Are you stupid or something do you really think that Google would be able to help out with this something that hasn¡¯t happened before?¡± said Andrew, ¡°Why wouldn¡¯t it work the internet solves everything doesn¡¯t it¡± said Baden, ¡°No it doesn¡¯t¡± said Andrew, ¡°Well give me one reason why then¡± said Baden, ¡°Because I already tried it¡± said Andrew without fully opening his mouth to say it, ¡°Could you speak up a bit I couldn¡¯t fully hear you over your pride being crushed¡± Baden said with a prideful attitude.


    Delta was now ready to tell everyone his plan, he said in a loud voice ¡°CAN I HAVE EVERYONES ATTENTION¡±, everyone that was there except Baden who was putting his fingers in the toaster part of himself looked at Delta, ¡°BADEN COULD YOU PLEASE STOP PLAYING WITH YOURSELF IN PUBLIC IT IS REALLY STARTING TO CREEP ME OUT¡± shouted Delta, ¡°What yeah I¡¯m listening¡± said Baden as he made the spot that was a toaster into a phone without the screen on, ¡°Yeah I was just playing this awesome new app I got it¡¯s super fun¡± said Baden trying to convince people of that being the case so he wasn¡¯t as embarrassed anymore, ¡°But Baden you said that you didn¡¯t know how to charge your phone since it merged with you so you needed my help to charge it¡± said Ryan, Baden turned around and said ¡°Well you¡¯ve asked for it now¡± as he let out a barrage of toast that was sent flying at Ryan, ¡°Oh so that¡¯s why you needed the bread¡± Delta said, ¡°I really thought you were getting me to imagine it for eating purposes¡± said Delta, ¡°Yeah you do realise just how much bread I still have at home I can¡¯t keep it there forever it¡¯s going to go off so I loaded myself with bread¡± said Baden.


    Delta was ready to talk again and said ¡°Hey everyone I know this seems a bit cheesy but I think we should use our powers for good¡±, Delta walked around and handed out clothing to each of his friends they were all identical looking, ¡°I spent a while thinking on the perfect colours to put on them¡± said Delta, everyone began to unravel the clothing given to them it revealed a uniform of sorts. There was a pause whilst everyone was trying to figure out what was going on and then Ryan blinked following with saying ¡°This is meant to be a uniform? Delta when have you ever heard of a super hero wearing the same outfit at the rest of their team?¡±, everyone startled by Ryan¡¯s last sentence started to talk amongst each other about super heroes. Delta went up to Ryan and said to him quietly ¡°Thanks for that I¡¯m horrible at talking I think you already understand the rest don¡¯t you?¡±, Ryan nodded and spoke up to the group ¡°Alright everyone you already know that Delta plans to create a super hero team by now but in order to do so we are going to need mastery over our powers I will explain what to do next after I have helped Caitlin with her power¡±, everyone put on their outfits and started using their powers straight away to try and master them better.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road.     Zac was walking behind Andrew who was just about to take flight when it started to rain, Andrew took off and went to find a sheltered area leaving Zac behind but Zac wasn¡¯t mad at all he saw this as an opportunity to try and find a solution to the rain problem he had. Zac had grown gills and didn¡¯t have long until he would suffocate so he risked it by imagining himself in the rain and to his surprise his theory was correct and his skin had changed to that of a frog but it wasn¡¯t just his skin the outfit that Delta had given him earlier had changed with him to suit his form. After this Zac went back to his form which he despised so much and grew gills to test another one of his theories and he was correct the suit had somehow managed to support this form by letting him breath normally when not in water. With this newly attained asset Zac went into his winged form and took off with a noticeable struggle when doing so.


    Baden without a clue of what he could do had been approached from behind by Delta, ¡°Hey Baden sorry about the whole toaster thing earlier I didn¡¯t mean to offend you or anything but you were the only one I knew that would be able to help me out and by the way without that you wouldn¡¯t have been able to perform a toaster barrage on Ryan which might I add turned out much better than I thought it would¡± said Delta, ¡°It¡¯s okay but now you¡¯ve decided to create come kind of super hero team what can I do having my power to shoot toast at people, the most it would be to someone is slightly annoying¡± said Baden, Delta was about to speak but then instead he decided to create a grappling hook and throw it straight at Baden, Baden instinctively flinched as something was being thrown at him but when it would have hit him it just went straight into his body, ¡°You see why I came over here now Ryan told me what I needed to give you and what to do¡± said Delta, ¡°He even told you to throw it at me?¡± asked Baden, ¡°Yes I asked him why had to throw it at you but all he answered with was that it would be funny¡± said Delta, ¡°That twisted son of a¡± Baden was about to finish when he saw a remote control being thrown at him, ¡°COME ON COULD YOU AT LEAST WARN ME NEXT TIME, BEFORE PUTTING IT IN ME!¡± shouted Baden, ¡°Sorry I will just give them to you from now on, now I think it was this next¡± said Delta as a jet pack shoved into Baden¡¯s being, ¡°Hell yeah now we are getting somewhere¡± Baden said with joy. The two spent the rest of their available time shoving things into Baden as each one of them got him more excited than the last.


    Sam walked off absorbing all kinds of surfaces as Hayden followed along trying to see what else his power could do. Sam decided to try out and see of his new outfit did anything to his powers, so he went up to Zac who was lying down in the mud after what could only be assumed as him having another failed attempt at flying and tried to copy his power by coming into contact with him but it didn¡¯t have any immediate effects to his appearance so he tried the same with Hayden who was right behind him at that point they heard a loud voice ¡°YES A LASER SHOVE IT RIGHT IN ME¡±, this startled both Sam and Hayden who both turned invisible from hear that and then Sam realised that his outfit lets him copy the powers of people so he could mimic them. He tried to imagine himself falling and he grew wings just like Zac would do except for one difference the colour of Sam¡¯s wings were dark purple instead of light grey like Zac would have.


    Hayden decided to walk off in invisible state and when he did he saw Ryan who looked as if he was searching for something, Hayden decided to follow him and see what he was going to do and if he had already found Caitlin or not. Meanwhile Connor and James were preparing for this by participating in more physical contests. The winners of each event seemed one sided depending one what body part was required for them so the decided that the only was to improve was to try and discover some new things that they could do with their powers which would assist them with being super heroes, so they split up and started their individual training. Andrew was off flying around to improve his speed in the air so that he could eventually fly faster then he could run so he would need a lot of training to do so and reach his maximum potential. Andrew would occasionally hear in the distance inappropriate comments from the direction that Baden and Delta went and occasionally it would be too much for him to handle and he would fall out of the sky in laughter.


    Connor decides to use his legs overwhelming strength to his advantage so he tries stomping at full power, in his head he thought that this would be a great idea but when it came to executing his plan it didn¡¯t turn out quite like he imagined instead Connor had his entire leg buried in the ground as he managed to go straight through just over a meter of solid reinforced concrete and when he attempted to pull it out he managed to get his other leg stuck in the ground and was in need of help but he remembered his phone was in his pocket so he was stuck in the ground until someone eventually came by and noticed him. Connor tried moving his legs around but had no luck at getting free, whilst Connor was stuck every thirty seconds or so he would hear shouts from Baden that were really inappropriate when out of context like ¡°YES NOW I NEED SOMETHING BIGGER THAN THAT¡± and ¡°I WANT TO HELP MY HOLES GET SOME PLUGS IN ME¡± Connor was simply stunned and was wondering if he even knew he was doing it.


    James decided to try and improve his mobility so he was jumping around with boosts from his arms to massively increase the speed he was going at. James tried at this getting more used to it with each try and was just starting his next jump when he heard ¡°YES THIS ONE EVEN VIBRATES¡± coming from the distance this distracted him and he ended up wedged in a wall as he wasn¡¯t paying enough attention and wasn¡¯t able to stop his jump. James has his arms stuck by his side and his phone was on the table not so far away from him but far enough away that he wouldn¡¯t be able to reach it in the state he was in right now. James tried to get his arms out but as he did that he could hear the whole building ready to fall so he decided to wait and assumed that someone would eventually come by and help him, but the thing he was really worried about was the reaction when someone got to look at the building and the trouble he would get in.


    Ryan walked off into the direction that Caitlin went expecting it to take a while to help her find out what power she had. Ryan looked for just under five minutes and found her under a tree he went up to her and said ¡°You had any successful attempts at finding out your power?¡±, ¡°No I¡¯m sure it has to do with people though and through deduction I¡¯ve figured that it would be healing but I can¡¯t seem to heal anything no matter how hard I try to imagine it happening¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Wait slow down for a second how did you know about having to imagine it happening in the first place¡± asked Ryan, ¡°Well I kind of just pieced it together and I decided to go with that as the way to do it and thought that you would come and help me with the rest¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Really? I didn¡¯t say I would come and help you what¡¯s going on here?¡± said Ryan, ¡°Nothing is don¡¯t worry about it but am I on the right track with imagining it happen or not¡± asked Caitlin, ¡°No I don¡¯t think you are on the right track at all¡± said Ryan ominously, Caitlin was intimidated at this point and backed away only to be up against a tree. Ryan took a long blink, longer than normal and this added on to the creepiness because when he opened his eyes he grabbed a sword from his back and swung straight into Caitlin.

 Chapter 5- The Set Up

    <u>CHAPTER 5</u>


    Ryan had just swung a sword into Caitlin¡¯s arm, ¡°Wow that looked so real, how did you make it look as if it were going into my arm like that?¡± said Caitlin, ¡°It did go into your arm and there was no trick at all¡± said Ryan as he pulled the sword out of her arm, ¡°Stop fooling around come on you can tell me can¡¯t you, or does a magician never reveal his secrets¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well if you don¡¯t believe me look at your arm then¡± said Ryan, Caitlin looked down to her arm just to see a cut in her sleeve and a red mark on her skin which was fading back to match the rest of her skin, ¡°You see you have healing powers, it¡¯s just that currently you can only heal yourself¡± said Ryan, ¡°WAIT YOU STRUCK ME WITH A SWORD BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE HEALING AS MY POWER, WHAT IF I DIDN¡¯T HEAL THEN WHAT?¡± shouted Caitlin, ¡°Well I made sure to not hit any vital spots so you wouldn¡¯t have had any permanent damage probably¡± said Ryan, ¡°Probably?!¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well you know who the most relieved out of us is right now?¡± asked Ryan avoiding Caitlin¡¯s last question, ¡°Let me take a guess is it you?¡± Caitlin said, ¡°Nope, it would most likely be Hayden because now he doesn¡¯t have to go and talk to everyone about me committing a murder, isn¡¯t that right Hayden?¡± said Ryan, Hayden became visible and nodded and then proceeded to turn invisible and walk away again.


    Ryan and Caitlin were walking back to the usual spot to hang out, ¡°You know what¡¯s really upsetting?¡± Caitlin asked, ¡°Death of everyone you care about¡± Ryan said, ¡°Well yeah but I meant that if I were to just die then Hayden would be more concerned about having to tell everyone then me being killed¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well yeah I guess so anyway we should hurry up I¡¯m pretty sure we are the only one¡¯s left to get there¡± said Ryan as he jogged on ahead with Caitlin following close behind him.


    Everyone was all grouped together and were wearing their uniforms Delta had given them, all except Caitlin who had not received one. Ryan went up to Delta and explained what happened with Caitlin and what power she had, ¡°Really? Was the whole making her think she was going to be killed necessary?¡± said Delta, ¡°Well when else would I get a chance to do something like that without harming them?¡± said Ryan, Delta thought to himself that maybe giving the crazy person a sword wasn¡¯t the best idea.


    Caitlin was looking at everyone with their powers now under control and had thought she had pretty good idea of what the majority of her friends could do, ¡°Okay so correct me at the end if I¡¯m wrong but from what I have seen so far Hayden can turn invisible, Sam can copy things, Andrew can fly, Zac can grow wings, Ryan is just Ryan but more crazy, Delta can make clothing now and Baden is a toaster for some reason¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well that¡¯s not incorrect¡± said Andrew whilst thinking about what was just said.


    Ryan was counting all of the people there, ¡°Have James and Connor been here already?¡± asked Ryan, ¡°Nope I just figured they were off training¡± said Delta, ¡°Oh by the way here you go Caitlin made just for you¡± Delta said as another uniform had appeared in his hand, ¡°Try it on and see if your healing can work on other people, I have to go find James and Connor now I hope that they didn¡¯t try fighting each other¡± said Delta as he ran of to search for them.


    Caitlin had put on her newly received uniform and decided to test it out, ¡°Well let¡¯s go find Zac that way you can go and test out your healing powers on him¡± said Ryan, ¡°No I have a better idea for who I¡¯m going to heal and they are going to need it trust me¡± Caitlin said as she formed her hands into fists, ¡°Hey come on we can talk about this right? Come on don¡¯t make any decisions you will regret¡± said Ryan, ¡°Oh I think I will regret it if I don¡¯t do this¡± said Caitlin as she tackled Ryan to the ground and started punching him over and over as hard as she could.


    Meanwhile, Delta was looking around the school and found the top half of Connor sticking out of the ground, ¡°Well can¡¯t say that this is unexpected how did you manage this wait I already know it¡¯s not like this is a real mystery¡± said Delta, ¡°Could you help me out¡± said Connor, ¡°Yes this is the first time I have ever had to literally help some ¡®out¡¯ no like literally helping you out of the ground¡± said Delta as he proceeded to explain that the uniform he had been given would have been enough to help him out, ¡°Wait what how?¡± asked Connor, ¡°Simple just imagine yourself springing your feet¡± said Delta, ¡°Okay that was the worst explanation I have ever heard but okay¡± Connor said as he proceeded to spring into the air whilst screaming as if he had just seen a ghost, he fell to the ground without hurting himself, ¡°Come on you¡¯re not a bird stop squawking and come with me, we still have to find James¡± said Delta as they walked off into towards where James was.


    James was still in the wall when he heard the voices of Connor and Delta approaching him, as the voices got so close that they were behind him there voices became silent and remained like that for ten seconds before the sounds of both of them laughing as hard as possible. The laughing continued for the next minute without the laughing dying down one bit James was getting annoyed but couldn¡¯t do anything about it, ¡°TAKE A PICTURE IT WILL LAST LONGER!¡± said James trying to speak over the laughter coming from the other side of the wall ¡°Good idea¡± Connor said as he proceeded to take pictures on his phone of the rear end of James sticking out of the wall, ¡°JUST GET ME OUT OF HERE I REALLY NEED TO GO TO THE TOILET I HAVE BEEN IN HERE FOR WHAT I FEEL HAS BEEN A REALLY LONG TIME BUT I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING BECAUSE I CAN¡¯T CHECK MY PHONE¡± shouted James furiously as he was hoisted from each leg and pulled out of the wall, Delta proceeded to repair the wall in seconds of James¡¯s removal, ¡°Okay come on we have to hurry everyone is waiting for us¡± said Delta as he proceeded to create a jetpack and fly over to the area still managing to get their last as Connor and James had already made it there.


    When Delta descended he was greeted to his friends all being there at once, ¡°Alright I guess now is as good a time as any to start what do you think Ryan?¡± said Delta, ¡°Hey so am I the only one that noticed we haven¡¯t been attending school today, like at all we literally just came here to practise using our powers and nobody has been around like at all something strange is happening¡± said Andrew as he looked inside the classrooms only to find that nobody was inside them, ¡°I guess we can¡¯t hide it anymore, can we Delta?¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well I can¡¯t believe it took this long for them to figure it out, I mean come on we have been using powers in the middle of the school all day don¡¯t you think someone would have caught us by now?¡± said Delta, ¡°Alright as you know something¡¯s wrong I can tell you what¡¯s been going on¡± said Ryan, ¡°Delta and I were planning this late last night as I was studying the extent of his power that¡¯s when he brought up the idea of becoming ¡®super heroes¡¯ I was against the idea at first as it had too many flaws to start but as the conversation went on he showed me what he could create, we went out to the road which had no traffic on it at this time of the night so I asked him if he could create a car and sure enough seconds later a car was right in front of us, this peaked my interest and I asked him to create an exact living replica of me, this didn¡¯t turn out well as when he created it the body was alright until it started to breath and then well I will leave that up to your imagination but let me just say that it wasn¡¯t pretty to see that happen especially to an exact replica of yourself, anyway after that I had asked Delta to create a copy of me except this time make it a robot, he did just that there was another copy of me except on the inside he was all machine and didn¡¯t have any programming with him, I guess that¡¯s where Delta¡¯s amazing friend Ryan comes in as I asked him to create a portable super computer and as I asked he created it, now that I had this all I had to do was ask Delta for a few more things and after a few hours of learning the code I was set up and able to create a whole personality to them I was able to give the robot life, anyway I still had some things to make sure of so I got Delta to take me to an empty space of land so I could see if the whole plan would work, Delta¡¯s mode of transportation was different to what I had expected as we got there riding on the back of a clown, I¡¯m still not even sure how he managed to convince a clown to let us ride it but he apparently did it, well when we got to the place it was just big enough for what I had planned and I turned to Delta and asked him to create an exact replica of our school Delta wasn¡¯t sure if he would be able to do it but he couldn¡¯t see why not so he put both hands on the ground and imagined it when he looked up nothing was different so I said how about you try and imagine it being built unless you don¡¯t want this whole super hero stuff to work out, Delta then sat down closed his eyes and imagined the buildings all being built brick by brick simultaneously, I watched as the buildings come into existence it was beyond my minds comprehension at the time, so it took him about an hour to do that I had been watching the entirety of the time observing and learning, after that Delta looked really tired and like he was going to pass out, I asked him if he could manage two more things he nodded and when we got to his house Delta had created me a robotic clone of our bus driver and a buss that looked exactly like ours I finished the programming of the bus drivers brain which only took about ten seconds now that I knew how to code it, then I had some finishing touches before the morning but it was all ready by the bus ride the next day¡± when Ryan had finally finished speaking he opened his eyes up.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.


    Everyone knew what happened now and didn¡¯t need any further explaining except Baden, ¡°So hey I high fived the bus driver this morning if you were really telling us the truth and he was really our bus driver why wasn¡¯t he absorbed by me?¡± asked Baden, ¡°You bring up a good point, you see Delta made sure that they were an exact replica on the outside but on the inside the are all machine¡± said Ryan, ¡°So if Baden were to but his hand down his throat or up his noes your whole plan would have been ruined right?¡± asked Sam, ¡°Well¡­ yes¡­ I guess but that would never happen¡± said Ryan, ¡°But what if the bus driver was chocking and Baden had to help him, WHAT IF HE REALLY NEEDED TO PICK HIS NOES BUT COULDN¡¯T BECAUSE HE HAD TO DRIVE THE BUS WHAT IF RYAN WHAT IF¡± asked Sam, Ryan was silent and then went on to explain the rest but before he could Delta beat him to it, ¡°Okay so you are probably thinking we aren¡¯t at school right now and we are probably going to fail all of our lessons, first off you won¡¯t fail because you missed a day of school and secondly Ryan has created robotic clones of all of you which would have had your exact personality and intelligence if it were up to me but Ryan brought up many valid reasons to not do that so we ended up just giving them the noticeable parts of your personality and their priority is working, so we won¡¯t have any of you needing to study with your robotic clones¡± said Delta as he gasped for air after finishing his long dialogue, ¡°How do you do it Ryan¡± said Delta, ¡°I don¡¯t my robot clone does it for me¡± said Ryan who came from around the corner with a tub of popcorn as Delta look¡¯s furiously at Ryan¡¯s clone.


    Everyone still shocked from how Ryan managed to do all of this with the help from Delta, ¡°Alright so what now are we meant to just continue on with what we have been doing because I personally can¡¯t get any better until I have had some real experience¡± said Baden as he turned his fingers into a laser pointer light show, ¡°Yeah just like a rave without the oil¡± said Zac, ¡°Oil?¡± Andrew said with confusion, ¡°Yes Andrew, oil¡­ so much oil,¡± said Zac looking off into the distance with a face that showed fear, ¡°Okay and moving on to less of¡­ that?¡± said Andrew, ¡°So how about we decide on out formations? Our strategies? Anything to plan for this before hand at all come on¡± said Ryan, ¡°Or how about we go out with full force and all at once¡± said Connor, ¡°YEAH LET¡¯S DO IT, EVERYONE IN FAVOUR SAY I¡± said James, everyone except Ryan and Delta agreed with what Connor had said.


    Everyone was pumped with the thought of what Connor had said, ¡°Well I have a question?¡± said Baden, ¡°Yes Baden, what is it?¡± asked Ryan, ¡°How are we meant to know when there and where there is a crime happening¡± said Baden, ¡°Well I¡¯m glad you asked as you see I prepared this earlier¡± said Ryan as he pulled out what appeared to be just a regular phone, ¡°Wow thanks you¡¯ve got us all a phone well everyone but me of course¡± said Baden in a sarcastic tone, ¡°Yeah I know that Delta may have rushed everything without actually explaining what the stuff he shoved into your body actually did¡± said Ryan, ¡°Oh right, Baden I gave your uniform the ability to give you the knowledge of the functions of everything that was put in you so I didn¡¯t have to go and explain it all so how about you go and say what this ¡®phone¡¯ actually does¡± said Delta, ¡°Well from what I can tell, this was modified to not only pick up the breaking news as priority but also clock into police radio transmissions, this also gives an automatic direction to the location from where you are at the time and lastly from what I can see is that it keeps track of the rest of our team but not tracking the phone but tracking the uniform¡± said Baden as he snapped back into reality, ¡°Thanks Baden you¡¯re a life saver I didn¡¯t know what I would do if I had to go through one more explanation of something¡± said Ryan.


    The group then all received a modified smart phone each and each one had a unique colour to tell them apart. ¡°Hey I wonder if I can get apps on this and if so how good they would run¡± said Zac as he tried to unlock the phone, ¡°Well you see I made these specifically for contact uses in the use for our hero business so if you try and get an app you will be confronted with a wall of passwords and codes to get past that would take a super computer at least a year to pass through but as I know the codes it would take me a minute at the longest possible time span¡± said Ryan, ¡°So what¡¯s the password then? Is it our finger print?¡± asked Andrew, ¡°Well that would just be unfair to the toaster wouldn¡¯t it?¡± said Ryan, ¡°Yeah I kind of helped him with the parts and one of the parts he wanted I couldn¡¯t imagine it without seeing it before so he found a way to have it perfectly in sync with the persons uniform as they were each made especially for you¡± said Delta.


    James then proceeded to drop the phone when trying to swipe the screen in an upwards direction smashing it into the ground, ¡°Oh shit not again why does this keep happening to me, Delta can you make me another one?¡± said James, ¡°Not so fast what do you take me for an idiot I made sure to make it special for each person I predicted this would happen so I made your phone reinforced¡± said Ryan, ¡°So basically I have the smartphone equivalent of a Nokia?¡± asked James, ¡°Yeah, but your phone could survive a fall from space without being destroyed¡± said Delta, ¡°Yeah Delta and I had to do a lot of research for this material and it was the same stuff we used for Connor¡¯s phone also¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well let¡¯s get a start then shall we?¡± said Baden with a cheerful tone as he led the was out of the school followed by everyone but Ryan and Delta, ¡°Maybe we should just let them experience failure, you could just stay with me and we could catch the criminal, but personally I would have preferred to work with Baden as he could be used to my advantage, but as you can see he just cheerfully led everyone to their potential doom¡± said Ryan with disappointment, ¡°What do you mean aren¡¯t they competent enough already?¡± said Delta, ¡°No they lack so many skills that are needed for a team to work not just the power to take them on alone but we should just sit back and work on our own team work some more because you see we do need a back up plan for if something horrible happens but you see for me I have already put together a wish lists of sorts so please get me these things and we should be safe from all enemies¡± said Ryan with a big grin, Delta looked at Ryan¡¯s list and it was mainly filled with a variety of swords, ¡°Maybe we could just choose one sword? Would that work?¡± asked Delta, ¡°Nope you will understand when the time comes¡± said Ryan, Delta thought to himself that this was a bad idea but without Ryan he wouldn¡¯t have made it this far in his plan anyway.

 Chapter 6- The Two Stories Meet

    <u>CHAPTER 6</u>


    It was the next day everyone was in their uniforms getting ready for their first act as a hero, Andrew and Zac flew around at different areas looking for a spot which had crime located at it and each of them received a call from Baden which was labelled toaster by default of the call pad, ¡°Hey is this a call to everyone because I had something I wanted to ask everyone if they are game enough to accept a challenge¡± said Baden, ¡°Go on¡± said James and Connor simultaneously ready for a competition, ¡°Yes me too what would this be¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well I was thinking how about we have a race to see who can stop the first baddie, think of it as a friendly competition¡± said Baden, ¡°YES WE ALL AGREE¡± said Ryan without delay and then hung up.


    Ryan was with Delta as they were teaming up and were just going to observe but as Delta saw Ryan on the phone he realised that wasn¡¯t the case anymore as he pulled out a swords from his back and proceeded to go on his phone trying to predict where the next place that would be a target is, ¡°Well I have gathered that we will find them at a convenience store soon so if we get there first we can get through them with ease¡± said Ryan, ¡°You mean get to them with ease right?¡± said Delta, ¡°For the entire time you have known me have I ever said something with the wrong wording?¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well that¡¯s unsettling, anyway let¡¯s head there now so we can win¡± said Delta.


    Andrew and Zac were flying around and saw a suspicious looking van with a masked driver and passengers, they saw them heading down the road and dropping off some passengers at a local convenience store then the van proceeded to drive onwards so Zac and Andrew decided to follow the van as it seemed a bit off and they may be able to win the competition this way, the van parked around back and Andrew landed quietly on the roof of the car able to listen into the conversation happening on the inside of the van, Zac landed on the top of a roof able to get a general look to see if anyone would be approaching and blow Andrew¡¯s cover.


    Hayden was just outside the car with Sam guarding each side of the van until Andrew confirmed that they were conspiring something bad, ¡°So how long do you think this is going to last, huh?¡± said the first guy, ¡°I don¡¯t know it shouldn¡¯t take more than ten minutes¡± said the second guy, ¡°yeah the last time we pulled a heist like this it only took 5 minutes until the police came and even then there aren¡¯t going to be many of them out today at this time that¡¯s why we planned the time and location like this¡± said the first guy, at that point the doors on each side opened.


    Meanwhile at the convenience store Delta and Ryan had just reached the convenience store, before they got inside they had walked past a familiar group Ryan payed no attention as he was preparing his sword for victory, Delta had his eyes meet with the leader of the group as they both took a moment they realised they knew each other but didn¡¯t stop as they went on with their day¡¯s, ¡°did you see that guy I think I know him¡± said Delta, ¡°What did you say?¡± said Ryan as he was deciding what sword he should open with.


    Delta saw a masked man walk in and decided to head out of the store so he could guard the exit and prevent the criminal from escaping and all of his hero plan go to waste because they let their first criminal get away. He also wanted to look around for another chance to see that boy from before or so he could talk to him or verify whom he was. Next second Delta could hear screams from the store and hear his phone start to pick up police transmissions about the current robbery Delta picked up the phone and spoke into it and said ¡°WE CALLED DIBS ON THIS ONE ALREADY¡± not thinking about who he was actually talking to, ¡°Um okay then may I ask which officer this is¡± said the voice on the other side, ¡°It¡¯s officer Johnson, pleasure to hear your voice¡± said Baden, ¡°Really Baden officer Johnson, you couldn¡¯t think of anything a bit more original¡± said James, ¡°Well you try thinking of a good police officer name¡± said Baden, ¡°How about a guy named Suzan¡± said Connor, ¡°You know what Baden suddenly your whole officer Johnson name doesn¡¯t sound so bad¡± said James, ¡°Hey what¡¯s so bad about Suzan?¡± said Connor, ¡°Alright I¡¯ve had just about enough of this who are you and how did you get on this private signal¡± said the voice from the other side, ¡°It was actually really easy to tap into this frequency, also the names Ryan I¡¯m currently at the store robbing and I am about to win¡± said Ryan, ¡°Win? What do you mean is everyone okay?¡± said the voice on the other side, ¡°Well we made a personal bet the first one to catch a bad guy win¡¯s and everyone will be okay well almost everyone you will need to send some ambulances down in a bit¡± said Ryan as the next second is heard with a slash and then a gun shot, ¡°WAIT WHAT HAPPENED IS EVERYTHING OKAY¡± said the voice, ¡°Yeah just a panic after I slashed at his legs with a sword and don¡¯t worry, he isn¡¯t dead, well at least yet but if he threatens one more life I guess I won¡¯t have a choice now will I¡± Ryan said as he proceeded to have a somewhat sinister laugh.


    Meanwhile back at the car the doors had just opened seemingly by themselves and Andrew on top had given the signal grab them, they both proceeded to struggle, Zac came down blended in with the skin of a chameleon it wasn¡¯t as good at hiding as the invisibility but it was good enough to avoid detection so he went to the same villain as Hayden and grabbed him, ¡°Sam now let¡¯s take them to the air in style¡± said Zac as him and Sam both became visible and proceeded to sprout wings, the two men being grabbed by what they thought were angels passing judgement proceeded to beg for mercy and agreed to change their ways, Sam and Zac didn¡¯t care about this so they decided to punish them in the most fun way possible by taking flight with them in their arms, flying to the police station making sure to fly as high as possible to assure that the criminals wouldn¡¯t struggle.


    Andrew followed closely behind as he has the best flight control out of everyone so if they were to drop the criminals he would be able to save them and not risk them dying from the fall. Everyone¡¯s phones simultaneously got the call about the incident at the convenience store and the two people being carried in the air were able to listen to it as well, when the rest of the team was heard talking over the phone on the polices line they decided to hang up so they could prevent themselves from potentially leaking any information to the two being taken away.


    Meanwhile Connor and James were far away from the convenience store and really wanted to get in on some of the action that was happening, so the two of them went as fast as they could back, Connor was far ahead of James at this point and had thought that he was unmatched in speed, until someone came speeding ahead of him moving around with a limp body being pulled towards something, Connor tried to go faster to catch up to them but failed resulting in Connor getting frustrated putting to much force into a step and flying upwards and then panicking due to his fear of heights. James had then overtaken Connor, Connor was able to see how James had increased his speed by thrusting himself forwards with his arms and having a very noticeable difference in speed when compared to his walking on his hands mode of transportation, James then proceeded to put his arms in the wrong spot when launching the next time resulting in him rolling around at an alarming rate of speed.


    Hayden who was left behind due to his inability to fly decided to search the van and see if he could find anything to help the others at the convenience store. In the glove box compartment Hayden had found what seemed to be a plan and on the plan it revealed that the lot that was currently doing their convenience store heist was just a decoy to get all of the remaining officers on duty to go there whilst the actual heist was at a bank with a large amount of people involved, alarmed by this newly found information Hayden had to run to the nearest team member to show them so he looked on his phone and the nearest person to him was Caitlin who was heading to the convenience store, Hayden ran to catch up to her and in a matter of minutes he had found her helping people cross the road whilst asking them ¡°Why did the chicken cross the road?¡± each time she would have a different punch line but the people would proceed to avoid eye contact after.


    Caitlin had been approached by Hayden who gave her the plan, she read it all and then proceeded to call the police, ¡°Hey police I have a plan from the convenience store heist going on and I think you may want to hear this¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Yes what is it any information would be helpful¡± said the voice from the other end of the call, ¡°Well apparently the convenience store is just a decoy and they are planning to get a bank with a large number of people, I need you to hear me out because I have a plan that might just work but I will need the police to handle the convenience store¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Why shouldn¡¯t we just send the police all to the bank, the convenience store has the issue neutralised¡± said the voice, Caitlin¡¯s call had hung up and the radio function had taken into play, ¡°Attention there is a hostage situation happening at the bank located on your trackers¡± said the voice from the radio, ¡°I was too late I should have warned the others first, damn well it¡¯s just around the corner so we should hurry and the rest will be here soon¡± said Caitlin as she rushed off in the direction of the bank.This story is posted elsewhere by the author.     Meanwhile back at the convenience store, ¡°Seriously dude come on how does being a decoy even benefit you not only have you gotten yourself caught but your plan has so many holes in it like you should have gotten more people here to guard all of the entrances, you also could have worn a less obvious disguise¡± Ryan sat down next to the guy and continued to list ways that he could have improved his plan, Delta whom was outside decided to leave the rest up to Ryan at the convenience store whilst Delta called Baden, ¡°Hey Baden I need to get to the bank quickly think you can get me there quickly¡± said Delta, ¡°Sure we will be there in no time at all¡± said Baden as the call hung up and he was right in front of Delta when he went to look up.


    Baden had made the bottom of his feet into wheels then the back of his body had rockets spread all throughout, ¡°Are you ready hold on tight¡± said Baden as he grabbed Delta and went off with ridiculous amounts of speed, ¡°Alright here it is, Delta do you need a minute you don¡¯t look well¡± said Baden as Delta tried to regain balance, ¡°Well that was¡­ fast¡± said Delta as he fell down, ¡°Well I will go in their and try to help out the others that are there¡± said Baden as he went into the bank.


    Meanwhile James had finally stopped spinning and Connor had finally reached the ground after being airborne for longer than he expected, ¡°Hey James did you hear the information on the phone?¡± said Connor, ¡°Yeah, well I think so it said something about the bank being the new target¡± said James, ¡°Alright then lets go we haven¡¯t got time to waste because so far even Caitlin has had more action then us¡± said Connor as the two speeded off towards the bank.


    Zac and Sam had just arrived at the police station with the criminals in their grasp, ¡°Hey what do we do with these guys?¡± said Sam so the officer behind the desk, ¡°What is this why have you restrained these men?¡± said the officer with an alarmed tone, ¡°Oh right these people are involved with the recent store incident they were driving the car and we have recordings to prove their involvement¡± said Sam as Andrew brought out his phone and played back the recording. ¡°Well thank you for bringing them in they will be held in these prisons until this issue is taken care of¡± said the officer as two more men with handcuffs came out and took the criminals, ¡°Well we best be off because of the bank¡± said Zac as he grabbed Andrew and Sam and left the station, ¡°Come on Zac we could have gotten a reward¡± said Andrew, ¡°Or even gotten ourselves a badge¡± said Sam, ¡°Or we could have been questioned about why we did that and how, then we would have been under suspicion is that what you really want come on guys¡± said Zac as his wings grew back out and flew off towards the Store.


    Sam and Andrew knew that Zac was just going to grab the criminal at the store whilst they got to go to the bank. Zac had arrived at the convenience store changing his skin to that of a chameleon so he could blend in and avoid being detected whilst he assessed the situation. When he got in there he saw Ryan sitting down and talking to someone in a mask who appeared to be sleeping, ¡°Hey Ryan I¡¯m going to take this guy now so you should head down to the bank¡± said Zac as his cloak had disappeared, ¡°I¡¯m already there though Ryan switched places with me as soon as he prevented the criminal from escaping by slashing the back of his legs¡± said Ryan¡¯s robotic replica, ¡°Okay and I still don¡¯t ever think I will get used to that well anyway I¡¯m going to go now¡± Zac said as he grabbed the sleeping man and flew off towards the station again.


    Meanwhile back outside the bank Connor, James, Andrew, Hayden, Caitlin, Sam and Ryan had just arrived, ¡°Alright so tell me the situation, wait no tell me why Delta is unconscious on the ground¡± said Ryan, ¡°Wait Delta is unconscious that could mean that he has been in there already¡± said Andrew, ¡°Calm down I will just heal him up and then he can tell me what happened¡± said Caitlin as she proceeded to sit down next to Delta and heal him. ¡°WE HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE LET¡¯S GET IN THERE NOW¡± shouted James as loud as he could, ¡°YEAH¡± replied Connor at the same volume as James, ¡°Well so much for stealth¡± said Andrew, ¡°Hayden let¡¯s turn invisible to get them during the chaos okay¡± Sam said as Hayden nodded in reply.


    They were just about to enter the building when a group came out followed by unconscious people in masks floating behind them, ¡°Who are you guys you seem somewhat familiar?¡± said James, ¡°Yeah I could have sworn I met these guys before¡± said Connor, Ryan looked up blinked for a long time and when he opened his eyes again he knew who they were, ¡°Quintin is that you?¡± said Ryan as he approached the floating one of the group, ¡°Yeah now I remember this guy here overtook me at my maximum speed¡± said Connor with a bit of his pride being hurt as he said that.


    Ryan looked over at the rest of the group to immediately realise that it was consistent of all their friends from the past, ¡°Ryan I knew I¡¯d see you when taking on this job but I assumed that you would have become a super villain rather than a super hero of course¡± said Quintin, ¡°What would make you think that?¡± said Ryan as he wiped the blood off of his sword, ¡°If I didn¡¯t see you back there in that store before I would have jumped to a different answer on how you got the blood on your sword¡± said Quintin, ¡°I¡¯m guessing you got the power of telekinesis based on what I can see¡± said Ryan, ¡°Yeah, I could only imagine that your power has to do with your memory, am I correct?¡± said Quintin, ¡°Yes you are indeed correct, I have accomplished a lot with this power and I have learned to program on a level that would take a life time of work in a couple hours¡± said Ryan with pride, ¡°impressive, I have managed to improve my knowledge intake as well but I am sure your way would be the most efficient¡± said Quintin.


    Connor was then approached by Will, ¡°So I see you have made a new friend to replace me¡± said Will, ¡°Well yeah I kind of had to seeing as life was getting pretty boring without competition and James here always gave me something to look forward to as he would never let me just surpass him¡± said Connor, ¡°Hey Connor who exactly is this?¡± said James, ¡°You mean me I used to be Connor¡¯s best friend well that was until the transition to our new school¡¯s I used to always have competitions with Connor though he would never win that¡¯s what drove him to improve himself so that one day he could become the better of us two, but as I am seeing now even with his new power he still has a way to go isn¡¯t that right Connor¡± said Will, ¡°Hey don¡¯t let this clown insult you like that I can take him¡± said James as he went to hit Will, ¡°I don¡¯t think so¡± said Will as he used his power of gravity manipulation to flatten James on the ground, Connor seeing James getting flattened so easily got him mad, ¡°HEY YOU LOOKING FOR A FIGHT COME ON TRY ME¡± said Connor as he approached Will ready to hit him.


    Will wasn¡¯t impress he simply put his arm down and the ground around Connor had formed due to the intense gravity but Connor continued at the same pace unaffected and preparing his hand into a fist form. Will started to push the gravity down even more but as he did that Connor was nowhere to be seen, Will looked around and behind him was Connor who kicked Will into a building on the opposite side of the road, ¡°I get it now your power is in your legs, wish I would have known that sooner could have saved me a lot of pain¡± said Will as he started to lift Connor into the air, ¡°Well you know one thing that I¡¯m pretty sure you haven¡¯t changed¡± said Will, ¡°What would that be¡± said Connor as he was taking flight, ¡°Your fear of heights¡± Will said as he lifted him higher and higher into the sky, ¡°Normally you would be correct, but you see after spending about an hour falling from an insane height you start to realise that some fears are more scary in your head¡± said Connor as he stomped down from the sky creating a localised earthquake.


    Zac had just flown in and went up next to Dakota, ¡°Hey could you please tell me what has been happening here?¡± said Zac, ¡°I wish I could Zac, I wish I could¡± said Dakota, ¡°Wait, why does this random butler know my name¡± said Zac, ¡°BUTLER YOU MEAN YOU DON¡¯T REMEMBER WHO I AM¡± Dakota said with disbelief, ¡°No should I?¡± said Zac, ¡°Maybe this will help you remember¡± said Dakota as he pulled down his glasses, ¡°Have you served me at a fast food restaurant before?¡± asked Zac hesitantly, ¡°You really don¡¯t remember me wow¡± said Dakota as he sat down and took the towel off of his arm, ¡°DAKOTA IS THAT YOU?!¡± Zac said with excitement, ¡°YES IT¡¯S ME HOW DID YOU REMEMBER¡± said Dakota with equal joy, ¡°Well I kept thinking that you were some kind of waiter or something like that because of the towel¡± said Zac, ¡°What fast food restaurant has waiters or butlers in it¡± said Dakota, ¡°Maybe that wasn¡¯t a fast food place, but anyway what have you been up to¡± said Zac, ¡°I have just gotten the powers of portals and I have seen that you have the power to mutate yourself depending on the situation that your body thinks that it is in and might I say that you have been doing a remarkable job at mastering it¡± said Dakota as he picked his towel back up.


    Dylan approached the unconscious body of Delta, ¡°So I¡¯m guessing this is Delta he doesn¡¯t look like he¡¯s changed a bit in the last five years¡± said Dylan, ¡°Yeah what¡¯s it to you¡± said Caitlin worried that he may do something to him, ¡°Well you¡¯re a new face aren¡¯t ya so when did you meet Delta?¡± said Dylan, ¡°I met him last year not like it matters to you¡± Caitlin said, ¡°Well I just wanted to check up on him seeing as we are best friends after all¡± said Dylan surprising Caitlin, ¡°I see and how long ago did you meet Delta?¡± asked Caitlin, ¡°Since before I could speak, he was always there by my side and he always managed to make light of a situation even if they seemed to be at the worst¡± said Dylan, ¡°Okay then if he is that special to you why hasn¡¯t he talked about you?¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Well me and him promised that until we met each other again we wouldn¡¯t speak a word of the other and we didn¡¯t have any email addresses or phone numbers to keep in contact so when we moved schools we didn¡¯t talk about each other and I¡¯m guessing that Delta must have had something happen to him because he didn¡¯t recognise me at all earlier at the convenience store¡± said Dylan.


    The groups were talking to one another catching up after all of these years, then the police came around the corner and started barricade the surroundings, ¡°Hey officers you do realise you are like ten minutes late they would have escaped by now if it wasn¡¯t for these guys¡± Sam said, ¡°What are you talking about we have no time for your games there isn¡¯t a single person there¡± said one of the officers, Sam went invisible out of embarrassment and decided to walk off but as he was invisible he noticed that Hayden wasn¡¯t there meaning that they had all left with a different form of travel, Sam was wondering for a while and then a portal appeared under him taking him to the greyspace.

 Chapter 7- The Reunion

    <u>CHAPTER 7</u>


    Everyone had been transported to the greyspace by Dakota¡¯s portal, ¡°So where are we now?¡± said Andrew, ¡°This is what Dylan decided to name the greyspace, the only way to access it is with Dakota¡¯s portals, but I just generally like to use it for my book collection¡± said Quintin, ¡°Ah I remember when I had to read books to store information but now it is just in my head¡± said Ryan, ¡°Hey I just got an idea!¡± said Quintin, ¡°What would that be?¡± said Ryan intrigued, ¡°Well my power is more powerful depending on my current intelligence level, well how much information I have remembered, now hear me out because if we somehow got your power and my power to work together we could become unstoppable¡± said Quintin, ¡°So basically fusion?¡± asked Ryan, ¡°Yes exactly we could fuse!¡± said Quintin, ¡°Nope¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well that was blunt, why not?¡± said Quintin, ¡°As much as I love the idea we would have to test it first and I don¡¯t want to cause deformed creatures because I will be reminded of that every time I blink and trust me I don¡¯t want to live with that¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well how about I do the testing and you can just help me create it¡± said Quintin trying to reason with Ryan.


    Meanwhile at school with the robotic clones of the group the rest of the friends that didn¡¯t get powers were watching as the clones stood there for the break times and did nothing at all but just stand there. Ben came over and started to shake the replica of Baden, ¡°Hey what was that for that seemed illogical¡± said Baden¡¯s robot, ¡°What do you think you guys have just been standing here for your breaks and when it comes to lessons you don¡¯t have any work left, it¡¯s even starting to worry the teachers¡± said Ben, ¡°I have been thinking about life¡± said Baden¡¯s robot, ¡°Oh well that makes sense I guess but all of you at the same time?¡± asked Ben, ¡°Yes it is a great bonding experience, it is all of the rage lately you should try it sometime¡± said Baden¡¯s robot, ¡°I¡¯m doing that all of the time anyway before it became cool¡± said Ben as he zoned out to a similar state as the rest.


    Jeremy walked by and saw Ben join them, ¡°Oh Jesus Christ they got you to we are all going to enter this state at this rate¡± Jeremy said as he closed his eyes and blocked his ears to make sure that he couldn¡¯t have it received through those senses. ¡°What if this goes viral and we all end up like that I wouldn¡¯t get to finish watching my anime¡± Jeremy thought to himself.


    Meanwhile back in the greyspace, ¡°So just a question to fill in some blanks, how did you all get your powers because we touched an orb and got our powers taking into effect the next day without us having any control over them¡± said Ryan, ¡°Well we got our powers by stepping into the darkness and then had our powers awakened from fear but it wasn¡¯t that long with Elisa here and her short tempered nature, also it helped that Quintin had us all scared with his shockwave¡± said Naomi, ¡°Hey guys where did Cat and Katie go?¡± said Jesse, ¡°You notice them now Jesse you do realise they have been at the local bar chatting up guys and giving life to their shadows¡± said Quintin.


    Dylan was off in the corner sitting next to Delta¡¯s body, when suddenly a toaster appeared in Dylan¡¯s lap, Baden came over and consumed it within seconds hoping that Ryan didn¡¯t end up seeing it, ¡°He must have been thinking about you again huh Baden?¡± said Ryan whilst laughing at the next lot of toasters that appeared, ¡°What is going on? I demand answers and I demand them now!¡± said Dylan who was angry due to his confusion, ¡°I would have thought that was clear here have some tea and I¡¯m sure someone will explain it to you¡± said Dakota as he proceeded to give Dylan some tea as if this happened regularly.


    Sam heard Dakota saying that someone would explain it looked at Ryan and he was talking to Quintin so he knew that it was his time to shine, ¡°Well Delta was walking along and one day found an orb thingy which let him shape the world how he envisioned it meaning that he has the power of imagination and then the same thing had happened to everyone else so Delta was like wow and then all kinds of stuff happened to us like Hayden disappearing and Baden turning into part toaster, he hasn¡¯t been able to live that down and so whenever Delta sleeps he dreams of toasters and it appears right next to him Baden has to absorb them every time though because Delta has no was to get rid of the stuff he creates that¡¯s about it¡± said Sam taking a massive gasp of air after saying all of that.


    Ryan came by and simply said ¡°He can make what he thinks¡±, ¡°Oh that makes sense¡± said Dylan, ¡°But I just went through all of the trouble of explaining that¡± said Sam, ¡°Aren¡¯t you the compulsive liar?¡± said Dylan giving Sam an ominous stare, ¡°Not any more I swear I stopped that long ago¡± said Sam with a very obvious desperate tone in his voice, ¡°Sure or could that be a lie anyway I will let the past be in the past¡± said Dylan, ¡°Let us proceed you are all probably wondering why I brought you here correct?¡± said Dakota, ¡°You brought us here because you wanted to truce with us is that correct?¡± said Andrew, ¡°Nope not even close¡± said Jesse, ¡°We actually wanted you here so we could train in combat with you as we have all gotten powers meaning many more people will get powers based on our estimations¡± said Quintin, ¡°We only have a while to prepare and I was really hoping that Delta would demonstrate his powers to our group¡± said Dakota, ¡°You just need him to wake up? Is that all you want well sure seeing as you have offered us such good hospitality it should be easy¡± said Baden, Baden¡¯s body transformed in a giant speaker, ¡°You may want to block your ears because this is going to be loud¡± said Baden as he prepared to sync his voice up to the speakers, everyone blocked their ears and Baden was ready to unleash, ¡°DELTA!¡± Baden had been so loud that everyone was blown away by the sound.


    Delta after hearing that remained sleeping and suddenly a radio appeared next to Delta, ¡°I was sure that was going to work¡± said Baden as he absorbed the radio. The group all decided that the top priority was to wake up Delta and they had to do it before they could progress and further and start the training, ¡°Let me have a go¡± Ryan said whilst pulling out one of his swords and approaching Delta, ¡°HOW ABOUT NO¡± Caitlin yelled, ¡°We could light him on fire¡± said Jesse with a sinister smile and lighting fire at the end of his finger, ¡°How about we don¡¯t¡± said Caitlin, ¡°Me and Connor could crush his bones and see if he wakes up from that and then Caitlin could do her healing thing after¡± said James, ¡°Okay how about we don¡¯t try and hurt Delta¡± said Caitlin, ¡°I guess I could always make him experience his worst fear¡± said Dylan, ¡°Alright I¡¯ll do it I know what I have to do but I swear to god Ryan I will probably end up fighting you after this¡± said Baden, Ryan proceeded to laugh as he knew what came next, the next second Baden proceeded to shoot pieces of toast at Delta and just the sound of the toaster alone got Delta up and wanting food, ¡°Good your finally awake Delta¡± said Baden, ¡°Toast now can¡¯t talk hungry¡± Delta said as he ate the toast Baden had made to wake him up.


    After Delta had finished eating he realised that he was meant to be at a bank, ¡°Wait what happened to the bank where am I now who are you and why does Baden look happy¡± said Delta, ¡°Hey Delta how have you been¡± said Dylan, ¡°I¡¯ve been good and how have you been mysterious person?¡± said Delta, ¡°Wait what you don¡¯t recognise me?¡± said Dylan, ¡°Oh you now I remember¡± said Delta, ¡°Yes, you remember me now that¡¯s great¡± said Dylan with his face lightening up, ¡°Yeah you were at the store earlier weren¡¯t you?¡± said Delta, Dylan¡¯s face was that of a shock then back to his default face being that of no emotion, ¡°I knew it was too good to be true¡± said Dylan, ¡°Hey maybe I can help I do have memory powers maybe I can see what¡¯s wrong¡± said Ryan, ¡°Really! You can do that?¡± said Dylan, ¡°No idea but I might as well start trying now¡± said Ryan as he proceeded to put his palm up against Delta¡¯s forehead closed his eyes and begun searching his memories.Stolen novel; please report.


    Ryan was swimming around in Delta¡¯s memories, ¡°Wow this sure is weird so just asking can any body hear me outside?¡± said Ryan, ¡°Yeah we can¡± said Will out of nowhere, Ryan decided to swim deeper into the memories, it was as if he were underwater yet he could breath, so he swam deeper hoping to find something that could help him figure this out. Ryan had so many thought¡¯s going through his head as he was doing this then he came across what seemed to be mirrors floating in Delta¡¯s head when he looked into them he was surprised to find a memory of the first time Ryan and Delta met, Ryan continued to watch this as he knew that Dylan came next so be introduced but in the moment where he would come in the memory became shrouded in a dark mist and was unseeable from there onwards, ¡°Hey guys I think I found your problem does anyone know what I should do about this memory being shrouded in darkness¡± said Ryan, ¡°Have you tried punching it¡± said James, ¡°Nope I will try now¡± said Ryan as he proceeded to punch it falling into the mirror.


    Ryan had fallen deeper into Delta¡¯s memories waking up in the schoolyard. Ryan looked around and saw Delta with Baden pulling him by his arm going straight through Ryan¡¯s body, this setting seemed all too familiar too Ryan so he closed his eyes to look through his own memories, as he closed his eyes his could see nothing just the darkness that would happen to everyone else. Ryan had tried multiple times and came to the conclusion that he wasn¡¯t able to use his power of memory whilst also in someone else¡¯s memories, confronted with this new problem he just had to watch it continue.


    Ryan remained watching Baden drag Delta to the usual spot they hang out Ryan pondered about what could get Baden to be in such a hurry. When they got there Ryan was rushing from behind to see where it led and then it all came together he was at the point the mirror showed him before, he was at the point where Delta had first met Ryan.


    Ryan had remembered that Delta was brought against his will to Ryan by Baden as he really wanted to play a game with more people as he always enjoyed a challenge in games and Ryan was the most competent guy he knew so it was the ultimate challenge, when they got there Ryan and Delta hit it off straight away and started talking about a bunch of complicated stuff that he couldn¡¯t make out that well.


    The next thing that is supposed to happen was that Dylan was meant to come in because Baden invited him to have the fourth player in the game, as he was coming in Ryan looked over at him to see if the problem was still happening and when he entered the room instead of seeing him it was darkness in his shape, Ryan pulled out his sword and was ready to fight if that was what needed to be done but instead of it acting badly it just went on like the memory would but Delta didn¡¯t pay any attention to the shadow like figure in the shape of Dylan.


    Ryan couldn¡¯t think of what to do then it struck him, Ryan decided to approach it and punch it as that was what got him into this mess. After an unsuccessful punch Ryan started to think of other things he could do but then realised that the memory never got this far when watching it in the mirror so he decided to watch it more to see if anything changed.


    Ryan watched the whole encounter but just as Dylan was about to leave everyone but Dylan in the memory had frozen in place, Ryan was ready to grab his sword as the dark figure approached ¡°I am not your enemy Ryan remember I am your friend¡± said the figure in a distorted voice of Dylan, ¡°But why, why is this happening it doesn¡¯t make sense, tell me please how do I fix it!¡± said Ryan, the figure was silent and put his hand out in front of him, ¡°Promise me you won¡¯t let the darkness win¡± said the figure with their hand still in front of them, ¡°I won¡¯t let the darkness win¡± said Ryan with no idea what that meant t the time.


    Ryan and the dark figure of Dylan shook hands and as they did a light was released from the contact between the two, the light faded away enough to see again and Dylan was at the door leaving just like he would have normally with no darkness covering his body. Ryan then saw another light shinning brightly, ¡°AGAIN WITH THE LIGHTS ARE YOU TRYING TO BLIND ME¡± said Ryan as he covered his eyes to block out the light.


    Ryan opened his eyes and was no longer in Delta¡¯s memories, Delta got up looked around and saw Dylan, ¡°I remember it all now, Dylan I apologise for my absence in memory I have no idea what happened, thank you Ryan I owe you one¡± said Delta, ¡°Oh I will remember that¡± said Ryan as he started to grin and bring out his list of swords from his back pocket.


    Dylan¡¯s face started to look happier as he was told that his best friend had finally remembered who he was but was still doubtful, ¡°Alright if you really remember me what is my last name?¡± said Dylan, ¡°Well that¡¯s an easy one Loxford, your name is Dylan Loxford come on you gave me an easy on¡± said Delta with a goofy smile on his face, ¡°Nice well that¡¯s all the confirmation I need then Delta I know this is a bit sudden and is a lot to ask but could you demonstrate your power to us please?¡± said Dylan who wasn¡¯t acting like his usual depressing self, ¡°Well sure thing I¡¯d do anything for my best friend¡± said Delta going to an empty part of the greyspace.


    Delta was ready to create anything he was told and Dakota was ready with a list of things to test and make, ¡°Alright first off, would you please create a training room, and also if you could it would be real handy if you could reinforce it with some strong materials to keep it in place¡± said Dakota, ¡°Sure thing I will just be a bit so don¡¯t get to comfortable¡± said Delta as he closed his eyes and built up the training room into a dome shaped building.


    Dylan couldn¡¯t believe his eyes in such a small amount of time Delta was able to create something like that out of nothing, ¡°What¡¯s the catch?¡± said Dylan, ¡°I¡¯m unsure if these are downfalls but more are more just inconveniences I create whatever I think so I wake up with items from my dreams next to me, I have to have a clear image of what it looks like in my head and the worst I would think is I have to find someone else to help me get rid of my creations¡± said Delta laying back down on the floor.


    Dylan impressed by this new discovery of Delta¡¯s powers decided to sit down next to him, ¡°So just a question but why am I here?¡± asked Delta, ¡°The police were coming from around the corner and we can¡¯t risk being caught because the world isn¡¯t ready for us¡± said Dylan, ¡°Wait why were the police coming please don¡¯t tell me you were involved with the bank heist¡± said Delta with increasing concern, ¡°Well we all were but not in the way that you are thinking, we decided to use our powers in a similar way to how you have¡± said Dylan.


    Delta remained silent for a while and then shot up, ¡°WE COULD TEAM UP AND BECOME UNSTOPPABLE¡± said Delta who was at the peak of his excitement, ¡°Would love to but we operate differently and according to Quintin¡¯s research we should be expecting other¡¯s to get powers soon and that means a lot more crime¡¯s will happen not only people with powers but the people without powers would be trying to get away with this due to all of the chaos that will be happening¡± said Dylan.


    Ryan approached and closed his eyes for a couple seconds, ¡°I have just put together the perfect plan for us to be fully prepared for this, we have to finish our training and we have to make our groups I will stay with Quintin in here to help create some equipment that will help us and also we will have about a month until all of this starts being an actual problem as I imagine that they won¡¯t have a proper grasp on their powers and wouldn¡¯t be confident enough to use their powers effectively¡± said Ryan, ¡°Great idea, I wouldn¡¯t expect anything less from you Ryan¡± said Quintin.


    The group then nodded in agreement to the plan and Dakota read the rest of his list out and they began preparation for the month of training.

 Chapter 8- Preparation

    CHAPTER 8


    The group had all agreed to stay a full month inside the greyspace to further their skills by undergoing training without leaving, everyone was given one chance to go back and grab anything that they personally needed whilst Delta was undertaking the construction inside the greyspace.


    Ryan went home and grabbed the advanced laptop that Delta had got him, he also grabbed a pile of comics that was specifically set aside this was so Delta would have reference if Ryan wanted something made, ¡°Alright then that should be it I have my stuff.¡± said Ryan, a portal opened up on the floor next to him, he dropped it all in and the portal closed.


    Hayden didn¡¯t have anything that he really wanted to bring with him that he didn¡¯t have on him already so he went with Sam to his house, ¡°Alright so we will be gone for a month I am guessing that I won¡¯t be able to have internet access but I still don¡¯t plan on dying of boredom, Hayden could you grab the television, I¡¯ll grab the consoles and all of the stuff that goes along with them¡± said Sam as he proceeded to stuff all of the things on his shelf into a duffle bag and zipped it up as Hayden then proceeded to grab Sam¡¯s television, ¡°Alright I think that¡¯s about it what now?¡± said Sam as a portal appeared next to Sam and Hayden, Sam threw his bag in without a care and Hayden nervously put it down and dropped it in, the portal then disappeared, ¡°Why were you trying to be careful? Dakota said that Delta installed a cushioned surface so nothing would break.¡± said Sam, out of embarrassment Hayden turned invisible followed by Sam doing the same, ¡°You thought that would help you escape huh?¡± said Sam.


    Baden went to his house and got a bag and put a photo of him and his family away in it, he also grabbed comic books as he really wanted to read some books and he grabbed candles which were conveniently stored in his top draw next to his bed, ¡°Alright I¡¯m ready, I¡¯ve got my stuff you can portal me now.¡± said Baden, as he said that a portal appeared on the wall and Dakota came out of it grabbing the bag and leaving, closing the portal, ¡°Now what am I meant to do for the rest of the day? Guess I will just go and find Ryan then.¡± said Baden as he left his house.


    Quintin went to a library and had a big group of books come off of the shelf and assemble into a perfectly neat pile within a matter of seconds, he proceeded to go to the front counter to complete the borrowing, ¡°Hey I would like to borrow these.¡± said Quintin, the person behind the desk was so shocked that they passed out, ¡°Well I guess that I will have to do it then.¡± said Quintin as the books proceeded to get scanned and move to the left of him one at a time. Quintin had spent about half an hour borrowing books and then was ready, ¡°Alright Dakota I have some books to read.¡± said Quintin as a portal appeared next to him, Quintin dropped all of the books at the same time and then went on to get changed.


    Katie and Cat were at a bar when suddenly a portal appeared and Dylan came walking through it, ¡°Alright I have to tell you two that we are going into training for a month, you have to go so start packing your valuables and we will pick you up by midnight.¡± said Dylan as he then went back through the portal and closed it off. Katie and Cat looked at each other and then proceeded to continue with what they were doing before, ¡°So why do we even come here we can¡¯t even drink¡± said Cat, ¡°WAIT WE CAN¡¯T DRINK? SINCE WHEN I¡¯M GONNA DIE OF THIRST!¡± said Katie as she started to panic, ¡°I meant alcohol, we can¡¯t drink that silly.¡± said Cat giggling and crossing her arms.


    Naomi was packing her drawing books and Pencils, she also had her tablet and charger with a bunch of pictures to use as reference, unlike the rest she didn¡¯t ask to have her stuff taken away instead she started drawing strange creatures that don¡¯t exist. Naomi was the only one of the group who hadn¡¯t revealed her power but she had been mastering it in her free time so her drawing was actually just using the unlimited potential of her power to good use.


    Caitlin went home and grabbed a backpack and decided to take her dog with her by putting a leash on him, she decided to put medical supplies in her bag, she also packed her sewing kit and material for something to do in her free time, ¡°Hey I got the stuff ready.¡± said Caitlin as a portal opened up and Dakota came out, ¡°He will be taken care of don¡¯t worry I will see you later.¡± said Dakota as he took everything from Caitlin and left back through his portal closing it behind him.


    Jesse went home and he packed his suitcase full of matches and blankets. Jesse was just about to pick up the phone when the doorbell rang, Jesse went to the door to just see Quintin, ¡°Have you packed all of your stuff yet? I just put all of my stuff to read in the greyspace and now I have nothing to do so I was wondering if you wanted to hang out.¡± said Quintin, ¡°Wow this is unexpected, just let me quickly get my suitcase dropped off.¡± Jesse said as he rushed back inside and zipped up his suitcase, ¡°I¡¯m ready.¡± said Jesse with enthusiasm, Dakota came through the portal and grabbed the bag carefully instead of just opening a portal on the ground, Jesse didn¡¯t think twice of it as he went with Quintin.


    Andrew knew that he didn¡¯t have to pack anything, all he had to do was get his bag and send it off. He flew towards home and on the way saw a man at gunpoint. Andrew didn¡¯t know what to do, he didn¡¯t know whether he should just move on and pretend he didn¡¯t see it or if he should go and help, ¡°HELP ME PLEASE SOMEBODY!¡± pleaded the voice from below, after hearing that Andrew moved without thinking, ¡°Nobody can hear you when we are in the middle of nowhere, say your last words.¡± said the person with the gun, at that point Andrew had come in and snatched the gun out of his hands but dropped it when flying away by accident. Both of the men were shocked to see Andrew and man who was just at gunpoint ran away, as soon as the other guy saw him running he chased after him, Andrew realised he wouldn¡¯t need to bring anything with him if he was serious about his training so he didn¡¯t need his bag and this was his only chance he grabbed the man and kept him in one place, ¡°I¡¯m ready with my stuff now.¡± said Andrew as a portal opened to the greyspace under him, ¡°Say hi to Delta for me would you?¡± said Andrew as he dropped him into the portal.


    James and Connor were ready to go but felt under prepared as they didn¡¯t have anything to bring with them, ¡°Hey dude what are we going to do when we get there?¡± said Connor, ¡°TRAINING REMEMBER!¡± shouted James full of passion, ¡°Yeah, but what about when we are out of energy?¡± said Connor, ¡°Well we could sleep and get better prepared for the next day.¡± said James, ¡°Yeah but that just won¡¯t do, all training and no fun will get old after a while won¡¯t it?¡± said Connor, ¡°Well we could ask Delta to get us something if it does go wrong.¡± said James as they continued to walk aimlessly.


    When Zac got home he knew exactly what he wanted to pack, his phone and laptop and they were already in his bag, ¡°Well I feel a bit underprepared I should bring more things with me, I don¡¯t need to have more clothes packed as I am meant to wear these for an entire month, I don¡¯t need any bedding stuff I guess it¡¯s just those then, I¡¯M READY!¡± said Zac as the portal opened and he swept his entire desk¡¯s contents into the portal, ¡°Can¡¯t be over prepared¡± said Zac.


    Elisa and Nathan walked together as they were going to get their stuff they needed for the month packed, ¡°So what do we need exactly?¡± said Nathan in his normal nervous tone, ¡°For the last time I refuse to go there unless I have some kind of weapon, because like you Dylan hasn¡¯t informed me of my powers.¡± said Elisa as she gritted her teeth, ¡°What kind of weapon? Wouldn¡¯t it be best to get one from Delta?¡± said Nathan, ¡°Well I guess you¡¯re right but I also need to tell my parents that I¡¯m going¡± said Elisa who was now calm, ¡°Oh right, you have parent¡¯s to say goodbye to so I will see you at midnight I guess.¡± said Nathan as he walked away, ¡°Not so fast you big goof I almost forgot I should introduce you to my parent¡¯s.¡± said Elisa as she held Nathan¡¯s hand and brought him into her house.


    Will, who was the last one ready, had a massive bag full of bricks and weights, ¡°I¡¯m ready, open please.¡± said Will with a massive goofy grin, the portal opened in front of him, before he could throw his bag in Dakota came through, ¡°I see you have a bag of bricks there, what exactly do you think you are going to do with that?¡± said Dakota, ¡°What wouldn¡¯t I do with it? I wanted to test the limits of my powers and see just how much I can do with it.¡± said Will, ¡°No bricks.¡± said Dakota, ¡°Why not? That¡¯ unfair.¡± said Will who just had his goofy grin go away. Dakota couldn¡¯t stand to see his face like this, ¡°You can bring your bricks, just don¡¯t go jumping from high places again I don¡¯t want Dylan to finally snap at you.¡± said Dakota as he struggled to take the bag through the portal.


    Dylan was alone at the park, the sun was going down and he was alone, ¡°Man I¡¯m sure glad Delta got his memories back.¡± he said to himself, ¡°Well I see someone is going to join me in the descent to madness.¡± said Ryan walking out from the bushes, ¡°Yeah it sure is quiet without Delta here you know.¡± said Baden as he walked out from the bushes, ¡°Kind of makes you want to be noisy so it was as if he were here right?¡± said Caitlin walking out from the bushes, ¡°Okay how many more people are in there and how did I not see any of you in there?¡± said Baden as he turned his hand into a Taser and went back into the bushes.


    Dylan looked behind him happy to see that his old friends hadn¡¯t changed, Quintin came with the rest of Dylan¡¯s gang except for Dakota who was helping to fix up the greyspace, Sam, Zac and Hayden all became visible at the same time. Connor and James rushed into the group, ¡°I totally won that time.¡± said James, ¡°No way man, speed is my thing, nobody can beat me.¡± said Connor, ¡°Well except me of course isn¡¯t that right Connor?¡± said Will as Connor put his head down in shame, ¡°Well not for long in a month¡¯s time after our training I will surpass you¡± said Connor raising his spirits.


    Andrew came flying in really slowly, ¡°Sorry I¡¯m late guys but I have been busy taking the hero thing seriously whilst I still stand a chance.¡± said Andrew as he was trying to catch his breath, ¡°What do you mean while you still stand a chance? If anything you will stand even more of a chance after the next month.¡± said Zac, ¡°Oh I see what you mean because your power is flying and so far you haven¡¯t uncovered any other powers, so when you come across someone with powers you aren¡¯t really that good against other powers, right?¡± said Jesse trying to piece together the situation.This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road.     Ryan knew exactly what Andrew really meant, Jesse was close and his hypothesis was partially correct, ¡°Actually to us the whole hero thing is more of a competition and when it comes to us all getting training Andrew is afraid that you will all leave him in the dust due to him thinking that he has the inferior power, he hasn¡¯t discovered what Delta¡¯s uniform has even unlocked for his potential but he will when our training starts.¡± said Ryan, ¡°Yeah can we just relax like Dylan over there watching the sunset whilst he still can, we won¡¯t be able to see this for much longer.¡± said Jesse, ¡°Not like I saw it much anyway.¡± said Baden.


    The group proceeded to watch the stars and ask each other questions, ¡°So Dylan, there has to be a reason why you never went to look for Delta?¡± said Baden, ¡°I¡¯m not really sure anymore, maybe it was because so much had changed since we said our goodbyes, I thought maybe he had moved on.¡± said Dylan, ¡°WOW CHANGED NOTHING HAS CHANGED WITH DELTA!¡± said Connor who exploded with laughter, ¡°I guess I was overthinking it a bit too much.¡± said Dylan.


    The group were all together waiting for midnight to come, ¡°Hey I feel like we¡¯re forgetting something¡± said Ryan, ¡°I don¡¯t know what you¡¯re talking about¡± said Dylan trying to avoid the topic, Ryan blinked for a while and he opened his eyes and looked disappointingly at Dylan, ¡°You know who I¡¯m talking about you can¡¯t avoid this Dylan come on you know that you can¡¯t keep this up forever¡± said Ryan, ¡°FINE, does anyone have Cat or Katie¡¯s numbers¡± said Dylan, ¡°Yeah I guess you want them to be here with the rest of us¡± said Quintin, ¡°Actually, you know what we could do is not talk to them it¡¯s not like Dakota will let them be left behind who cares if they are with the rest of the group they¡¯re so oblivious that they probably don¡¯t even know why they will be training for a month¡± said Dylan, ¡°Or even know what training means¡± said Will, ¡°Alright well I guess it¡¯s time to leave then¡± said Baden, ¡°Already we haven¡¯t been here that long have we?¡± said Caitlin looking at her watch.


    Within seconds of Baden informing everyone of the time Dakota showed up through his portal, ¡°Well I guess it¡¯s time to go¡± said Baden, ¡°So I¡¯m just guessing but everyone but Cat and Katie are here is that correct?¡± said Dakota with a checklist of people on it, ¡°Yeah knowing them they weren¡¯t even going to get ready for the training¡± said Dylan as he headed through the portal.


    The group all entered the portal and were amazed at what Delta and Dakota had managed to create in just a day, ¡°Wow this is¡­¡± James said, ¡°Awesome¡± said Connor as he finished of what James was about to say, ¡°I wouldn¡¯t use the words awesome I would say more like overwhelmingly anticipating¡± said Zac, Andrew dropped to the ground and sat completely still trying to take all of this in, ¡°Well where are we going to be staying¡± asked Connor, ¡°Well we have put a lot of consideration into living arrangements and Delta and I have decided to group you up with the power¡¯s that would work well with each other¡± said Dakota as he walked the group through what seemed like a futuristic street.


    The first stop looked like a gym from the outside with what looked like it should be a sports field but blank, ¡°Wow this place looks cool is this like our personal gym or something like that¡± said James, ¡°Yeah I would use this place all the time¡± said Connor, ¡°Well yes you could say this is your personal gym and it¡¯s good that you would spend all of your time in it¡± said Dakota, ¡°What do you mean it¡¯s like our personal gym?¡± said Connor, ¡°Well this is where you will be living I will go over the details later but you should first get used to it as you will be spending a lot of time there in the next month¡± said Dakota, Connor and James stayed still and were shaking with excitement as the rest of the group walked off to the next location.


    The next stop was a house with no colour at all, ¡°I¡¯d hate to be one of the people living here so blank and boring¡± said Sam, ¡°Well that¡¯s a real shame because this place was made for you and Hayden as I said to Connor and James I will go over the details later but you should get used to it¡± said Dakota, ¡°I guess it¡¯s not that bad I could look at it as a blank canvas and just colour it in how I want to right¡± said Sam trying to be optimistic about this bland living arrangement, ¡°Yes you may modify it to how you see fit¡± said Dakota as he walked of with the rest of the group leaving Sam and Hayden behind.


    The next place that the group went to was what seemed to be a library, ¡°So I¡¯m guessing that this would be my place to stay correct?¡± said Quintin, ¡°That is correct as you had already got a very large book collection prior to this and then to add onto it you had your library adventure where you collected an overwhelming amount of books to read for the next month¡± said Dakota, ¡°So who is my partner to spend the next month with?¡± asked Quintin, ¡°Well that was a tricky one so I got Delta to help me with that one, you will be partnering up with Ryan as we thought he was the only suitable option¡± said Dakota, ¡°Finally come on Quintin let¡¯s just figure this out by ourselves, this tour is starting to give me a headache because of just how boring it is¡± said Ryan as he grabbed Quintin and dragged him into the library they were going to be living in.


    The next place seemed like a bunch of different environments had been mixed together, ¡°I don¡¯t know what to say¡­¡± said Zac as he remained silent after that, ¡°Do you want to know anything your living arrangement will need some explaining¡± said Dakota, Zac walked towards the house without a word spoken, ¡°So who has to be grouped with Zac I don¡¯t envy them¡± said Andrew, ¡°Well that would be you¡± said Dakota, Andrew didn¡¯t say another word after that and followed Zac into the house, ¡°Are you two sure you don¡¯t want me to tell you anything?¡± said Dakota as Zac and Andrew had closed the door behind them.


    The group walked on to the next place which looked like a calm hot springs with a Japanese looking house, ¡°Well I¡¯m guessing this is your way of telling me to chill out¡± said Baden walking towards the house, as Baden was walking towards the house a portal appeared under him and brought him back to the group, ¡°Not so fast this is for Nathan and Elisa¡± said Dakota, ¡°Come on tell me this is a joke, you have to be joking right?¡± said Elisa, ¡°Come on let¡¯s go¡± said Nathan as the two walked of towards the house, ¡°Well I guess those two can go and make a move on each other¡± said Baden as he heard something behind him, ¡°You shall have regrets¡± said Elisa as she punched Baden to the ground within a couple of seconds.


    Baden got up in a matter of seconds, ¡°How did she do that and how am I conscious¡± said Baden, ¡°Well you see I am pretty sure that hit would have been fatal but you see in the greyspace it isn¡¯t possible to die so you just go back to the state you were in prior to that fatal blow¡± said Dakota, ¡°So I was meant to die from that?¡± said Baden, ¡°Well I would imagine so¡± said Dakota, ¡°Well at least she knew about this and it wasn¡¯t her trying to kill me¡± said Baden, ¡°Well let¡¯s move on to the next place¡± said Dakota avoiding the topic, ¡°Right? She wasn¡¯t trying to kill me was she? Dakota come on tell me,¡± said Baden as the group moved on to the next place.


    The group went on to see what appeared to be a hospital, ¡°Well it doesn¡¯t take a genius to figure this one out¡± said Baden as he proceeded to walk towards the hospital, yet again a portal appeared under Baden bringing him back to the rest of the group, ¡°Really Baden?¡± said Dakota as he crossed his arms and looked at him with disappointment, ¡°But this is so boring can I just go to mine already¡± said Baden, ¡°Anyway Naomi and Caitlin will be staying here¡± said Dakota, ¡°Why do I have to be here?¡± said Naomi, ¡°Well I did further investigation into your power and I think you will need someone to heal you so that you can master your power faster, also I was running out of people to pair you with¡± said Dakota, the group went on as Caitlin and Naomi energetically ran to their living space.


    The next place was a very shiny looking building, ¡°That seems like somewhere that I would go right?¡± said Baden with the last bit of his patience being used up, ¡°Yes this building is made completely of fireproof materials¡± said Dakota, ¡°Why?¡± Baden asked, ¡°Are you serious we have like nobody left in the group with us you do the math¡± said Dakota, Baden looked around and saw Jesse and had a reaction of panic, ¡°Is it Will please tell me it¡¯s Will right?¡± said Baden with fear in his voice, ¡°It¡¯s me!¡± said Jesse who was now getting angry, ¡°Come on guys please don¡¯t do this to me I don¡¯t want to burn¡± said Baden as Jesse was dragging him away into the shining house.


    The next place was really bright and seemed like there wasn¡¯t a glimpse of darkness to be seen in sight, ¡°Wait it¡¯s just me and you now is this where you expect us to live it¡¯s so bright¡± said Will, ¡°No, I just wanted to get this done with quickly¡± said Dakota as he opened a portal that dropped Katie and Cat out of it, ¡°Where are we?¡± asked Cat, ¡°This isn¡¯t the bar¡± added Katie, ¡°You two will be living here I will explain the rest later¡± said Dakota, the two walked towards the house as they stepped into the light they remained unaffected by the brightness and proceeded onwards, ¡°But how they hang around in the darkest and shadiest places how is this possible¡± said Will, ¡°It¡¯s better not to think about it let¡¯s move on¡± said Dakota.


    Will and Dakota walked on to the last building which was a mansion, ¡°And Will this is where we will be staying¡± said Dakota, ¡°I thought this was for you and Dylan for a second there, where is Dylan?¡± said Will, ¡°He went off to his room he is sharing with Delta, anyway this wasn¡¯t Dylan¡¯s idea if it were up to Dylan you wouldn¡¯t be in a house like this but as it was up to me I decided we would be perfect when it comes to training¡± said Dakota, Will proceeded to jump incredibly high and check out everything from a higher point, ¡°Wow you two have made so much within such a small time¡± said Will, ¡°Wasn¡¯t me I just had a list Delta is the one who made all of this possible¡± said Dakota, ¡°Where is Delta anyway, I haven¡¯t seen him at all since we got here¡± said Will, ¡°He had to sleep this took a lot of time to make he just got really tired and collapsed after we made it all¡± said Dakota.


    Meanwhile at the real school, ¡°BEN CAN YOU HEAR ME¡± said Hamish as he was shaking Ben from his trance like state, ¡°IT¡¯S TOO LATE THEY ALREADY GOT HIM IT¡¯S ALL OVER IT¡¯S GOING TO SPREAD TO US¡± said Jeremy whilst freaking out, Hamish proceeded to slap Ben to the floor, ¡°Damn it Hamish what did you have to go and do that for¡± said Ben, ¡°WE FOUND A CURE¡± said Jeremy as he proceeded to go up to the robots of everyone and slap them only to hurt his hand on a unexpected solid impact, ¡°Never mind we can continue to panic¡± said Jeremy as he once again started freaking out.


    Ben was looking around and looked back up at Hamish and slapped him across the face with all of his strength put into it, ¡°Why did you slap me and if you answer wrong there is plenty more where that came from¡± said Ben, ¡°I saved you from the zombie like state you were in¡± said Hamish, ¡°I wasn¡¯t in a zombie like state I was joining these guys because they said that all of the cool people are thinking about life¡± said Ben.


    Hamish proceeded to go up to the robot of Baden and slap it, ¡°Why would you do that¡± said Baden¡¯s robot, ¡°Because what are you guys doing you¡¯re messing with my head¡± said Hamish, ¡°Sorry we were thinking about life would you like to join us?¡± said Baden¡¯s robot, Hamish was about to say just how much he didn¡¯t want to do that but instead of saying anything he remained silent and walked away, ¡°OH NO HAMISH WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU¡± said Jeremy in a panic as he proceeded to chase after the now silent Hamish.
