    "Good Morning America! Welcome and Thank You for tuning in to CNN''s special broadcast. My name is Susan Broushard reporting on the events now called "The Day the Earth Stood Still" that happened a short five years ago. Reporting with me is David Smith. Thanks for being here with us David." (Susan)


    "It''s my pleasure Susan, thanks for having me on this special broadcast."(David)


    "Unfortunately what we found was not aliens, but alt-humans. Scientists are still baffled about the cause but at noon on November 11, 2011 more than 70% of humans turned into animal human hybrids. Also at that time certain humans were gifted with the ability to use magic."(Susan)


    "Well Susan, the colloquial term for humans turning into animal-human hybrids is "beast out", meaning that they let the beast out of their inner body. It''s quite the euphoric rush so it left all the alt-humans slightly dazed when it happened causing several accidents around the world. Also the humans that were granted magic were similarly stunned resulting in similar problems." (David)


    "That¡¯s correct David. Due to the occurrence there were many fatalities, and due to the confusion the emergency teams were unable to respond with their usual alertness causing many more fatalities to occur. This caused a slight malcontent to form over the masses against alt-humans blaming them for the accident. This was later denied by all governments to be false, but the sentiment has still remained, especially in human supremacy groups like the HSK, or the Human Supremacy Klan."(Susan)


    "That''s a shame that there are still those kinds of people in this world However on a happier note, two weeks ago was the first documented birth between a carnivorous alt-human, and an alt-human. Doctors say that the baby¡¯s parents were a fox and a rabbit and that the baby was a fox type alt human. Doctors are unsure if all babies of mixed alt type parents will be born of the carnivorous parent, it''s too early to say."(David)The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

    "And now it¡¯s time for our special announcement."(David)


    "Right David. As everyone knows, as far as alt-humans are concerned, you will always be part animal, leaning towards a chordate. However, there are also cases of alt humans having insect characteristics as well in all but the smallest of human settlements. However, did you know that there are even rarer alt humans that take on aspects of plants?"(Susan)


    "You are correct Susan, just earlier today, Japan released to the world that they have a alt human that is type seaweed."(David)


    "Amazing! Simply Amazing! Imagine how many more alt human types there are that we just haven''t found yet?"(Susan)


    "It is exciting isn''t it? Actually, it''s nothing currently but rumors, but according to Reddit, there seems to be another type that exists, shrouded in secrecy."(David)


    "Oh ho? Tell us more."(Susan)


    "According to Reddit user he-who-flies-pigs, he says an alt human that looked like a bird that was on fire. He claims he say a phoenix type alt human. He goes on to claim that there is actually a magic type of alt humans that is currently either hidden by or hiding from the government, for reasons yet unknown." (David)


    "No way! That¡¯s phenomenal news. Did he say where he saw it?"(Susan)


    "Actually he did, he said he saw the phoenix type alt human between China and Taiwan. So it looks like we in America won''t have a chance to see him until he makes an appearance on world news."(David)


    "And to think I thought the rarest alt human was a type insect."(Susan)


    "It''s finally time for our final piece of news and this comes from the newly formed Magic Community, a group of people working together to try and not only scientifically categorize, but also push the limits of magic."(David)


    "According to the Magic Community, they have finally completed a spell that will grant alt humans the ability to change back into what they looked like before their beast out. Previously, as we all know, it was almost impossible to remove the hybrid changes from an alt human that used beast out, now it will be easier for some of the stranger ones to live a more normalized life."(Susan)


    "Well it looks like that¡¯s all we have time for folks. Hope to see you next time."(David)

 Chapter 2 - 2 Guests

    "Good Morning America! Welcome and Thank You for tuning in to WSGS. My name is Susan Broushard interviewing some specials guests here at the studio with me. First up is the alt human Joshua Boudreaux. Thanks for being here with us Joshua." (Susan)


    "It''s my pleasure Susan, thanks for having me on this special broadcast."(Joshua)


    "So Joshua what has been some of the problems that you''ve had to deal with as alt human?"(Susan)


    "Well Susan, it¡¯s been really rough getting through these past few years since the incident. First off, as a dog type alt human the smell is what I''ve really had to get used to. I''m now smelling things 20 times better than humans can and its honestly quite disconcerting to get from the delicious scent of cinnamon from cinnamon rolls in the morning to the in your face punching in the nose smell of cinnamon I now deal with."(Joshua)


    "I can see how that can be annoying for many pungent odors."(Susan)


    "Indeed you are right. Another thing is that I constantly have people throwing things past me and yelling "Fetch" with stupid grins on their face."(Joshua)


    "How insensitive can people be?"(Susan)


    "But what probably gets me most incensed is that occasionally I will have some snot nosed brat try and "catch me and bring me home" as some sort of pet. I don''t know what parents are teaching kids these days, but it¡¯s obviously not manners."(Joshua)


    "I''m sure they were only joking."(Susan)


    "They had leashes and Tasers......."(Joshua)


    "......"(Susan)


    "......"(Joshua)


    "Has there been any new events going on in alt human community?"(Susan)


    "Well, I¡¯m not sure if you have heard or not but next month is the second Guardian Celebration that is put on by the Alt Human community center."(Joshua)


    "Guardian Celebration? I''m not sure if I''ve heard of that before. What can you tell us about it?"(Susan)


    "Well Susan, thanks to some events that happened in the year after the incident there came to be a mysterious figure that has been watching over the alt human community, sort of like Batman in Gotham, except he only focuses on alt humans. And due to the actions this figure has taken, Lafayette has become one of the most stable centers for alt humans to reside. It''s become so popular that we are even getting alt human immigrants moving in to share in the peace.     "Joshua, are you saying a bat type alt human is running around Lafayette solving crime?"(Susan)


    "Well, there is definitely an alt human vigilante stopping crime involving alt humans, but it is questionable about whether it¡¯s actually a bat type. My money is actually on a Reptile type, but we really have no idea."(Joshua)


    "Well what about eye witness reports?"(Susan)


    "Well that¡¯s the thing, everybody who he helps can only remember him helping but nothing else about him. The community thinks that he might have a magician as a side kick to mess with people¡¯s memory while he does the muscle work. This adds credence to the reptile types which are known for their strength."(Joshua)


    "I see. That¡¯s quite an interesting story and that brings us to our second guest speaker, Catherine Jones. Catherine, thanks for joining us today."(Susan)


    "Thanks Susan, I''m happy to be here."(Catherine)


    "Now Catherine, I hear that you are a magician, did you.... got to Hogwarts to learn magic?"(Susan)


    "Ha-ha no, I would have loved to though. Reading the books made it sound like such a magical place. Also, unfortunately magic doesn''t really work the same way as it does in the movie."(Catherine)


    "Could you explain please?"(Susan)


    "Certainly. In the books, to use magic you need a wand. I however only need a wand, or a focus, if I am doing something I am unfamiliar with. Also the focus can be almost anything, not just a wand. "(Catherine)


    "But I''m sure I have seen many magicians using wands."(Susan)


    "And many of them do used wands, they''re purists, if you will. Also, how we learn spells is different too. At Hogwarts, it¡¯s a simple as saying the magic words and moving your wand correctly. We magicians however are only ever given a single spell "Path" if you will. We are born knowing a single spell, and when we master it, the next time we wake up we know a new spell along the path of our original spell. The currently known spell paths we have listed are Attack, Barrier, Healing, Illusion, and Transfiguration."(Catherine)


    "Well what about Fire or Ice?"(Susan)


    "Well you see those are elements. Elements will change the effect of a spell, but a path remains the same. If you were of the fire element of the Attack path, then you would be able to throw Fireballs. If you were of the Ice element of the Barrier path, then you would be able to make an Ice Wall. Also, as far as we know most magicians only have a single element, with incredibly few having two. If there exists people with more than two, than their existence is being kept a secret."(Catherine)


    "How fascinating."(Susan)


    "Also the final major difference between real life magicians and magicians in the books, is the fact that in the books magic doesn''t cost anything. In real life magic takes away stamina, so if we use it a lot we use up our stamina quickly. That why the magician community is currently going through a health craze renewal. The healthier and better in shape we are the more spells we can cast. Actually I chuckle whenever I think about it, but I envision future where all our magicians are super buff, instead of the typical frail and physically weak magicians in stories."(Catherine)


    "That does sound entertaining. Do you have any messages for any young magicians awakening to their powers?"(Susan)


    "Yes in fact I do. To all young budding magicians out there, magic is a wonderful gift, but it¡¯s also very dangerous. Never practice magic in an area where others can get hurt. It would be best to seek out Magician communities to learn more about your abilities."(Catherine)

 Chapter 3 - Anonymous Interview

    "Hello Everyone! This is your favorite internet idol, Susan Broushard. It''s been a short year since the incident, today I have an exclusive recording of an interview with an alt human in Lafayette Parish Jail. He only agreed if we didn''t release anything that might leave clues towards his identity. Other news stations refused him so he refused their interviews, only I the internet news idol Susan agreed to his request. "(Susan)


    Susan waves her hand and the audio recording starts.


    "So, first off, can you tell me how we can know the veracity of what you are telling us?"(Susan)


    "Well some background information is that I have many contacts in the local crime gangs as I have worked with them before the incident. Also after the incident started I was arrested for causing civil unrest."


    "I see; so can you tell us about some of the crime that alt humans are getting into?"(Susan)


    "Well most alt humans have a certain trait that is stronger than most vanilla humans. I once met an alt human that was 3 times as strong as the strongest recorded vanilla human. Well this guy was able to rip open the grating on banks as if it was paper. He was a real monster.


    Also there are alt humans that specialize in hearing and sight so they can spy on politicians and black mail them. But what¡¯s probably the most heinous is that magicians that are able to use transfiguration spells are able to kidnap girls, transfigure their appearances to something else and then pimp them out with impunity."


    "That''s preposterous, everyone knows that you can only change appearances to a certain extent. Changing someones weight, or reverting their appearance back to a regular human."(Susan)


    "Ha! Who told you that? The government? The politicians? Do you really think they would tell people that with a simple ability you can walk around as anyone you want?"


    "But, but, there must be some limit."(Susan)


    "Well thankfully there are only a few magicians that are willing to do such a massive spell as it has a high difficulty and failure is high. Also most magicians that are capable of such spells are already making bank on making women skinny through spells."


    "Well, that''s a relief, I suppose. Can you tell us about some of the gangs in the area?"(Susan)


    "Well the most numerous is the Beastie Boys. Not very original and as the name suggests it is filled with beast type alt humans. They are probably the "mildest" gang in the area, mostly interested in turf, but not much else. In fact, as far as I know, it originated as a vigilante group trying to keep their neighborhoods safe, but then later evolved into a gang family. Also the neighborhoods they claim offer some of the safest housing in Lafayette if you can afford the extra $50 a month in protection fees.


    Another gang is the Swamp Things. These guys are dangerous and unpredictable. They originate from coon asses from the bayou that somehow all became alligator type alt humans. As such they have some crazy strong skin and strength. Not the brightest bunch, so they resort to strength to solve their problems.


    The last one is a gang family that was around before the incident but escalated their activities after the incident. We just call em the Family. Not much is more is known about them except their leader is very charismatic and they have been making power plays against the other gangs in the area."


    "That is quite the information. Thanks for sharing that with us. But none of that seems to be super dangerous to know. Is there anything else that you want to share with us that would make you afraid for your life?"(Susan)This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent.     "Yea. There''s another group of people called the Nightwings. They come from a variety of backgrounds and are of all different groups, including gangs. The only way to tell if they are in the group, is that they have a pair of wings across the front of their chests over their clavicle.


    Whats interesting about this group is that the only thing binding them togeth is an oath. Generally called the Nightwing''s oath, it entails that we will never initiate violence and that we will defend the innocent. If you break either of these two rules while you are in the group, your life is forfeit."


    "Well they don''t sound so bad. What''s the problem?"(Susan)


    "The leader is crazy strong and nobody knows who he is or what he looks like. The only thing we know is that he is represented by two wings."


    "Well how do you know if he is strong if nobody knows who he is or what he looks like? Seems like a ghost story to me me."(Susan)


    "I was there when he first made his appearance on the stage. It was a year ago just under a month after the incident started. A child was killed by a stray bullet in a fight between the Swamp Things and the Family. Unfortunately, the child in question was the grandkid of one of the officers in the Beastie Boys.


    The notice went out. A gang war was going to start at Girard Park that very night and everyone who was anyone needed to be there to represent their group. I was there with my gang of time, which has since disbanded, and there must have been the entire alt human population of Lafayette there because there was a huge amount of people, all glaring fiercely at one another.


    In the center were the three faces of the Beastie Boys, the Swamp Things, and the Family. It looked like they were arguing but I was too far away to hear what. The face of the Swamp Things struck the face of the Beastie Boys with a sneak attack and the entire area erupted into a sea of gunfire and melee. You see some alt humans have evolved into creatures that have skin too tough for bullets to work on so other methods had to be used.


    All of a sudden all the lights in the area simultaneously exploded in a flash of light. Everyone looked at the lights in shock, then jumped when we heard a bestial roar like no other near the leaders. I tell you now Susan, it put the fear of death in my very bones and from the looks of the alt humans near me they felt the same. There in the center of the mass of people lay the three faces in utter defeat along with a cloaked figure standing next to a monument. How the monument got there, I don''t know, but there it was.


    After everyone was staring dumbfounded towards the center a giant pair of wings erupted from the back of the cloaked figures back and with another roar, the figure launched himself into the air and he said, "I was fine with you wantonly murdering each other and went minded my own business, but when you killed an innocent it became my business. Let this monument stand as a promise in my involvement from now on. If you agree with my cause, take up my mark and help. But beware, if you use my mark against my ideals you are betting your life." then he grabbed the faces of the Swamp Things and the Family and flew off."


    "He sounds like quite a romanticist if he thought that would be enough to stop a gang war. How did the fight end?"(Susan)


    "Well the Swamp Things and the Family were in quite the uproar over the abduction of their leader so they mobilized their forces and ran after the flying figure to try and recover them. The face of the Beastie Boys just laughed grabbed his men and left as well. The rest of us just looked around and left in flocks, no longer interested in fighting for the position of top dog, as that position already had someone in it.


    A few people went up and investigated the monument, they were the ones to discover that there was actually writing on it along with instructions on how to join his group. It was good that they did too, because the next morning the monument was gone, like it was never there."


    "So what you are saying is that, by himself, he ended a gang war in one night?"(Susan)


    "Well he ended most of the fighting that night. There was some minor gang fights the following few nights, but they were quickly subdued and turned in to the police. Also it seems that after he flew away he gave his two captives to the police custody."


    "Well, that story gives us much to think on. Is there any other information that you can tell us?"(Susan)


    "That is all. I hope it helps give you and your viewers a better understanding of the social turmoil at the time."


    "It does indeed thank you for your help."(Susan)
