《Journey of the Time Mage》


 Prologue

    My name is Bishop and I buy and sell things on the internet, after coming back from the army I couldn¡¯t find actual work so I started doing this and well it worked out so I stuck with it. I was coming back from the mall when I saw an antique mirror on the side of the road just waiting to be sent to the dump. I brought it back to my apartment and started appraising it only to lean against it and fall through the mirror, the next thing I know is I am face-planting on the ground which was now grass. When I came to my senses I found myself in a forest and behind me was the mirror I just picked up from the side of the road with a note on the ground.

    You have found an artifact that has been lost for centuries which connects two worlds; the original mirror is in a place called earth which relies on science while this world relies on magic. Once a person travels over to this world they are given the power of the inhabitance of this world, think of it as a game system, I have spent many years with this item and now I only want peace so whoever is reading this good luck.

    I read all of the information in front of me but why did it say my race was other-worlder when I am human! Seriously whoever is controlling this needs to be punched, as I focused on my race and class another two windows popped up.

Now let¡¯s go check what the previous owner left me when I finally found the stash it was only a single metal container but the strange thing about is that when I opened it the bottom was not there.     Well I¡¯m rich in this world at least; I stood up and walked back to the mirror thinking what I should do with it. In the end I chose to store it in my inventory seeing how I don¡¯t want any uninvited quests coming into my room, now let¡¯s see what type of world this is.

 chapter 1 bringing a slime home

    As I was walking along the forest path a pink round creature appeared in front of me, it looked like a slime like you see in a video game. The slime looked injured from something but I don¡¯t know what, when I was about to approach a little green creature jumped out of the brush before it could notice me I used analyze.

    Yep completely worthless to me since I am rich now, I picked up a stick from the side of the road and walked up behind the goblin. The goblin didn¡¯t even notice me even though I wasn¡¯t even being stealthy, I brought my stick up and smashed the goblins head and it flew into the tree breaking its neck on impact.

    So each level gives me fifteen points to use along with raise my base stats, well let¡¯s save up stat points for now since I don¡¯t know how hard it is to gain levels yet. I turned to the slime that was watching me which was a little weird seeing how it didn¡¯t have any eyes to watch me with, as I got closer the slime shook even more which was kind of cute in a way. The slime had several wounds were clear liquid spilled out I guess slimes are not just liquid after all, I pulled out a health potion from my storage and poured it on the slime which absorbed it as fast as it could.


    ¡°There you go little one try not to get into anyone trouble okay.¡± (Me)


    The slime jumped up and down then jumped into my chest, I caught it and the damn thing started rubbing against me like a cat would do for attention. I guess it wants to come with me but would it be alright after all I will be traveling to my world and this one so unless I can get it to take a human form I doubt I can take it with me.


    ¡°Listen little one, I will be traveling to places that only humans can go to so if you can wait for me while I go there you can come along also when you get a human form you will be able to come with me, so do you still want to come?¡± (Me)


    The slime jumped up and down in my arms which made me laugh even more, such a cute creature I wonder if people tame these guys just to become pets for them. I sat the slime down and turned to the dead goblin but before I did anything another window popped up in front of me.

    what the hell is up with this, I get the skill and title but why the hell would they kill a slime that can give you buffs as much as possible instead of a onetime use pill? After my ranting I dismissed the windows and walked towards the goblin corpse which stunk to high heaven, since I didn¡¯t want to touch it I opened up my store for the first time and found the perfect skill for this.

    I bought the skill immediately and learned it; after I learned it I put my hand over the goblins corpse and activated the skill. In seconds the goblins ears were gone along with a small indent in the middle of its chest like something was missing under the skin, I guess there isn¡¯t much to collect with goblins.The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

    The slime jumped at the corpse and I could see that the corpse was being digested into pink lights that soon disappeared while the slime grew a little bit bigger. After the slime was done a notification popped up again.

    After walking for a few more miles I came upon a small village with some scrawny guards posted at the front gate, so much defense it¡¯s impossible to take this village! All jokes aside they should really get new guards or train the original guards a bit more.


    ¡°Halt what business do you have in this village and why do you have a slime following you?¡± (Guard1)


    ¡°I am a tamer on a journey, I am just passing through by tomorrow morning I will be on my way I just want to get some nights sleep before I continue to the next city.¡± (Me)


    ¡°There is a 10 bronze tax on entering the village along with a 1 silver tax on bringing a monster inside, if you don¡¯t have the money you can always sleep outside for the night.¡± (Guard2)


    I didn¡¯t complain and paid the guards the tax then walked into the village carrying the slime in my arms, when I got to the inn a young girl carrying a sliver tray greeted me when I first walked in.


    ¡°Welcome to our inn, are you staying the night or coming here for dinner?¡± (Girl)


    ¡°I would like a room until morning; also I would like it if no one disturbs me and I would like to pay in advance to I don¡¯t forget in the morning.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Oh that would be fifteen bronze please.¡± (Girl)


    ¡°Here, and keep the change just spend it wisely.¡± (Me)


    I flipped a gold coin at her and she caught it on her tray, before she could say anything I was already going upstairs to my room. When I was inside I put the slime down next to me and opened my store again, I wanted to communicate with the slime so it will be easier for me to know what it wants. After several minutes of searching I finally found to skill books that I bought immediately.

    I got up and locked the door which only locked from the inside which in my opinion was a good feature, after I locked the door I summoned the mirror and picked up the slime then walked through the mirror and into my room.

    May was engulfed in blinding light which lit up the whole room along with notifications kept flying in but I ignored them for now as I watched May¡¯s evolution come to a end.     I walked over and laid down on my bed only to see may staring at me again, since I had nothing else to do I fell asleep gazing at her inhuman beauty.

I decided to look through the store again as I was searching the store I finally found clothes perfect for May, I bought the clothes and they appeared on the side of the bed for when May woke up. As I laid there I thought about what I should do in the future, if I use my store I can sell commodities to the fantasy world and sell swords to collectors on line for high prices. After about an hour of waiting May finally woke up, I helped May put on her new clothes because she had no idea how to put them on.


    After word I made her breakfast which consisted of bacon, eggs, and pancakes which brought her to tears for some reason. After eating we went back to her world and walked out of the inn then headed north, as we walked I checked out the books that were left by the previous other worlder. The first one describes the races and their customs, the second one details organizations and how they operate which was actually useful to me but what surprised me the most was the two skills I got from learning such knowledge.

    As we were walking a group of bandits surrounded us, they stared lustfully at May while glaring at me with hate filled eye. Their boss walked out of the group and stood in front of me with a smug look on his face.


    ¡°Boy I will give you two options; leave the girl and anything you have of value behind and we will spare your life, the second is you try to resist and we rape the girl in front of you before killing you.¡± (Bandit leader)


    ¡°May do you want to take care of this or shall I?¡± (Me)


    ¡°Master can I teach them some respect?¡± (May)


    ¡°Very well but keep them alive, you should have enough strength to do that so please make it quick.¡± (Me)


    May nodded and charged at the group of bandits, she was like a tank plowing through anything that got in her way. May just swung her fists with no technique at all; I should probably teach her in the future. As she finished up with her opponents I turned to the bushes where the real enemy lied in wait, after a few seconds of waiting he finally showed his face. A knight dressed in silver armor and a giant sword leaned against his shoulder with a teeth filled smile, well at least some teeth the others were rotted to hell.


    ¡°So how long have you known I was there?¡± (Knight)


    ¡°The whole time, did you really think I didn¡¯t hear you in that armor along with you talking with a bandit about an ambush?¡± (Me)


    ¡°That¡¯s not possible I made sure I used muffle before following you.¡± (Knight)


    ¡°No it¡¯s possible when you have a certain skill, but no matter this will be resolved in a few moments but you don¡¯t have to get involved if you don¡¯t interfere anymore.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Sorry I am under orders, however I am interest in you boy so don¡¯t disappoint me!¡± (Knight)


    The knight charged at me swinging his giant sword without any true target and he looked like he was struggling just to keep it lifted, when he slammed the sword down I twisted a little avoiding the blade then when it landed I climbed up the swords blade and kneed the knight in the jaw knocking him out. I turned to see May was already done and was waiting for me to finish with my opponent.


    ¡°May grab some vines and tie the bandits together we are transporting them to the next town.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Yes master.¡± (May)


    She ran off into the brush grabbing the vines that looked strong and tied the bandits into a giant ball, I decided to experiment with my auto-loot ability and tried it on the knight. Everything the knight was wearing was instantly transferred to my storage but his boxers were left on him thank god however a sour smell came floating from him which almost made me hurl. I plugged my nose then dragged him to the others bandits and tied him a few feet behind to keep the stench at bay, once that was done I looted the bandits too and what was surprising was that they didn¡¯t smell as bad as the knight. May dragged the bandits along seeing how she was stronger than me at the moment as for me I was looking through my new loot. It was simple gear but what caught my eye was the knights orders, it was actually quite interesting to say the least but also problematic.

    It has come to my attention the third prince of the neighboring country has decided to come to our country on a journey with his aide, he will be arriving at Border city in a week your job is to higher bandits and take care of the prince. I don¡¯t care what happens to the aide that is with him however I want the prince alive.

    Well I guess they thought I was the prince and his aide which means they haven¡¯t arrived yet, if I play my cards right I could get a prince to owe me a favor in the future.

 chapter 3 Prince and his aide

    As we approached the city gates we were met by a carriage coming from a side road; the driver was a middle aged woman with tan skin dressed in a blue clothe dress, beside her was a man in his early twenties dressed in fancy clothing and was playing with a knife. When we approached them the man made the woman stop the carriage.


    ¡°Hello travelers do you need a ride, you can tie your cargo to the back end and ride in the back.¡± (Man)


    ¡°We will gladly take you up on your offer.¡± (Me)


    We walked over to the wagon and tied the vines to the end of the wagon then climbed in the back, once settled the carriage continued down the road. May sat beside me avoiding the man¡¯s eyes which screamed lewdness.


    ¡°Sorry but I don¡¯t think she likes your stare that much, but anyway I think I have something interesting for you to read if you have the time.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Oh and what might that be?¡± (Man)


    ¡°Oh just a note one of our friends over there had, such interesting information should be beneficial to you in many ways.¡± (Me)


    I passed him the note that had the knights orders on it and when he finished reading the note his eyes grew cold as he turned to stare at me which his cold eyes, May twitched a little seeing the change in the man.


    ¡°We can talk about it when we get some more privacy, oh and you should keep your normal mood no matter what it will help in the future.¡± (Me)


    Since we were at the gate already I jumped off the carriage and brought the bandits the guards telling them what happened, well most of it. I told them that the knight saw me with a bag of money and his greed got the better of him, the guards didn¡¯t mind me keeping their equipment since I was the victim. Once we entered the city we rented a room at an Inn then went and registered as adventurers the adventurer¡¯s guild was just like in the stories and comics one can read on the internet. The guild tested our skills after the paper work was done, since it would cause trouble for myself and the guild if we started off as a high ranking guild member we decided I would be a D rank adventurer while May was E rank because she only had strength while I had technique and strength on my side.


    After we got our guild cards we went to the blacksmith and sold the gear we looted from the bandits which came out to one gold, ten silver, and five bronze. I spent the gold coin on getting myself a good sword I didn¡¯t have to buy May a new weapon since she is using the knights sword, when we got back to our room we saw the man and the woman sitting on the bed.


    ¡°So we meet again I wasn¡¯t expecting to meet you so soon.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Who are you, and be truthful about this.¡± (Man)

    ¡°How would you get these supplies without drawing attention from the government.¡± (Aide)

    ¡°Yes in the matter of fast I do.¡± (Prince)


    I took the coin and bought a soda with it, I handed the bottle to the prince after pulling off the cap to it. The aide tried it first to see if it was poisonous, afterward she gave the soda to the prince and he started drinking it.


    ¡°I can supply you with food, medicine, weapons, clothes, and skills depending on how much you are willing to pay.¡± (Me)


    ¡°Then I have a request there is a town to the south going through a famine and needs food before things get worse, I don¡¯t have money with me but if you do this it will be a sign of friendship towards me and my country.¡± (Prince)


    ¡°Alright we leave tomorrow morning for now I need to prepare.¡±(Me)


    ¡°Alright, we will be off then.¡± (Prince)


    ¡°Meet me at the south gate, if I¡¯m not there it means I am still preparing some things.¡± (Me)


    The prince nodded and left leaving May and me alone, I locked the door and transferred back to my world. Once there I started purchasing food and medicine left and right along with a SUV to get to the village, I had to explain the concept of a car to May which just went through one ear at least I got her to get the idea of it down. Once my prep was done we went to bed, when woke up May was sleeping on my arm again but this time I couldn¡¯t let her sleep in. once up I grabbed my handgun from my nightstand then we transferred back over and continued to the south gate, when we got there the prince and his aid were waiting for us.


    ¡°What kept you?¡± (Prince)


    ¡°I had to pick up our ride; I will bring it out when we are far enough away from the city.¡± (Me)


    They didn¡¯t say a word and started walking, May and I followed close behind them. When we were out of the line of sight I summoned the SUV, you should have seen their faces when the SUV appeared in front of them.


    ¡°Relax it¡¯s like a carriage but better, when you get inside there are belts for each seat you need to wear them just in case.¡± (Me)


    ¡°What do you mean by just in case?¡± (Aide)


    ¡°This SUV goes faster than a carriage, what do you think would happen to the people inside of it if we crash?¡± (Me)


    Their faces became pale thinking about it and the conversation didn¡¯t continue anymore, I was the one that drove since no one else knew how; I followed the prince¡¯s directions until we could see the village in the distance. Once we were close enough we got out of the SUV and continued towards the village, when we got there we found skeleton-like guards sitting at the entrance without the strength to move. How could anyone let it get this bad, I need to act fast before the loss of life!
