《Sui Generis》 Chapter 1: "Kris" Chapter 1: Kris Eating the favourite meal, his mom''s selfmade burger which somehow manages to both taste extremely good and be healthy consisting of mostly vegetables and fruits, and happily chatting with his family this day started just like every other day. It is as if his life is the perfect one, some bad things always happen but nothing really noteworthy has happened yet. Considering his luck to have such a great normal life he can just enjoy his time with his family and friends. Going to school like on every other day he was greeted by Fabian and Pierre as always and of course their topics in convesations are games, as always. The three of them started playing another new game a few weeks ago, an MMORPG in a science fiction setting evolving around aliens invading the earth and humans 2 colonies, moon and mars. It may seem to be a typical setting but the game has some serious thoughts behind it and the setting is not to be underestimated. Kris is a bit behind the other 2 though because he just couldnt decide on what route to go down with his character which is after many hours of fruitless attempts to get the perfect name, Kr1st. Although the name was supposed to look cool with the idea of combining his name Kris with 1st so that if he manages to complete something nobody else can do he can say ''my name already says I''m the first'' but somehow it ended up being regarded as someone really religious which doesn''t exactly fit his nature. This game, Arcus Nova, has some kind of unique story but at the moment it is just one more game that they played together, always trying to get a guild, clan or something similar going with the name DaKingz, one more example of their pefect naming sense when they started gaming. Being 15 years old their little group has already managed to achieve some major goals for their age. In one of the less known RPG games with some kind of setting in the greek era they managed to become one of the top 10 groups clearing most of the games even though they are such a little group. But for Kris this is nothing too serious as he just enjoys spending time with all his friends together, completing extremely difficult quests is nothing he thinks about, his train of thought goes into the direction ''This is another thing we managed to complete together''. "Hey Kris, have you checked the Weapon shop yesterday after the weekly reset? There''s an electricty saber in there! I can''t do anything with it but I know it''s always ur favourite choice fighting to go into melee range ... although it''s complettely stupid here." (Fabian) Arcus Nova''s shop system is nothing unique. There are general shops like a weapon shop, potion shop, Equipment shop etc. In every big city and around some of the huge dungeons. "Yeah, guess who doesn''t have any money at all left for the next weeks? I bet that person did buy something other people would call a stupid investment and forgot to leave some money for important things like better armour or potions. That person must be really stupid to go along that way" (Kris) "You really did do that, right? I don''t know why we even bother playing with such a noob, haha."(Pierre) "Well he must be really religious to do such a thing, although praying for money won''t help you out this time even with your name!" (Fabian) Although they tell Kris everytime he goes along with a melee route in a more future setting that he will fail horribly and they will leave him behind that never happened, atleast the leaving behind. I mean everybody fails sometimes, right? "Well it''s still better than your name, right ''I_own_trolls''. I mean its always nice to have some beautiful trolls for everyone but isn''t it bad to exclaim it like that? Other people might get jealous and fight you." (Kris) The first game they played was some years ago when they all haven''t mastered their English and it was a little game where you have to save humanity from a troll invasion. Really simple game. They all didn''t chose the best name, even Pierre with his ''RoastEmToast'' had an incredibly bad moment of creating several characters and then deleting them because he did not like the name and then settling on this one. He still claims to have been controlled by a higher force that wanted to give other people a bad impression of him. Since they all ended up having some kind of bad name nobody wanted to admit defeat and change their name. So in a mutual, silent and manly agreement they are still challenging each other and the first to change his name will lose his honour. In the end everyone of them kept their names and ended up going by that name in every future game too. "So today''s the time to get that secret dungeon down? Can''t wait to get all those credits to buy me a Low Arcus Armour of Darkness. I mean the evasion rate it gives is already cool but being able to sneak without being noticed... I will become a fucking assasin this time!" (Pierre) The dungeons in this game are something that really sets this game apart from other games. Instead of going having a fixed location these change their locations every few days, some even every hour and are all kinda different. The secret dungeon they found this time is a little spaceship of the Invaders (that naming sense for aliens though) that had a crash landing and is in the middle of being repaired. Only because it is inside of a jungle nobody else seems to have noticed it as of yet. If not for Kris'' special way of playing they wouldn''t have noticed it neither. Instead of just going along the route layed out as a main storyline as most people do or just randomly going around the open world Kris always try to understand the concepts behind the world. One of his hobbies is trying to find loopholes in those games backstories or NPC''s . Through observing and searching everytime they entered a dungeon such as a spaceship or a hidden base of the Invaders, he managed to find a secret function of the game. Hacking, it is not that hard once you found the secrets in those ships computers and after interacting with them, it allows him to locate the Invader''s troups withing his radius which constantly grows as his level in hacking does, once a day roughly. So once they walked around as always they intercepted this signal in the jungle with nothing except some ressources nobody wants to farm in it. Although the game in itself and the backstory are all nice Kris already had a problem with all the weapons and most advanced items as they just complettely ignored the physical laws and just like in many science fiction games for example laser pistols are one of the common things. "Yeah let''s get that ship, maybe we would even be able to claim the ship right? I mean a base that can move with us would be kinda cool right? And we still have to top our Snowhouse base from last time!" (Fabian) The last game they played was actually placed in a Nordic setting and they noticed that with a special item you could farm snow, refine it to snowblocks and then build a base with those blocks instead of stones in the freebuild function within a guilds base. After school ended they all quickly left and within an hour greeted themselves via voice chat again to get the dungeon done. The dungeon in itself is not that interesting and through their coordination and tactics, letting Kris scout and take out enemies melee, having Fabian as backup and snipe those that would be impossible to reach and Pierre doing his own thing, seemingly sneaking around uselessly while somehow having just as many kills as the other 2, they quickly cleaned the outside because most Invaders were distracted repairing the ship. Not long after moving in Kris heard someone approach his room and quickly said. "Edward not this time. I''m in the middle of an important quest, tell Mom or Dad or both of them that whatever it is they want I really cannot come at the moment. It will have to wait for later!"(Kris) Although for people who don''t know about it they may not suspect it but Kris family is actually really rich and they even had a buttler, Edward, to help them in their house. His parents would often send Edward to get Kris for lunch or whenever they want to talk to him about something. "..." Not noticing that Edward doesn''t even answer Kris full concentration was once again on clearing the dungeon with his guys. A moment later the door to his door opened and just as Kris wanted to turn around after being in a save area after some more kills in one of the storage rooms of the spaceship he felt something pierce his chest on the left side intending to pierce his heart. After a short scream his sight became darker and he lost his consciousnessA case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. ''Is this really how it ends? Being killed while playing a new game...'' ... ... Fabian and Pierre hearing the scream first thought it would be some kind of bad joke on Kris side but after some minutes only hearing his ingame sounds but nothing else they became worried and called him first on his phone, not receiving an answer, then his parents and sister, also not receiving an answer although they usually always have their phones with them, they called the police then as their worries increased. Half an hour later Kris neighbours could see an ambulance driving to the hospital and several corpses being handled by the police. Somebody broke into their house and started killing the inhabitants. After some investigations the curlprint was found. The houses own buttler went on a killing spree and took all the money from their safe to escape but was caught driving too fast on the highway while behaving suspicious after the police came to charge him for driving too fast. Only one person survived and that is a real miracle. The police seeing that Kris still lived with a sharpened metalpipe through his chest couldn''t believe their eyes but later on the doctors found out that he has a incredibly rare condition, called Situs inversus. All his major organs are mirrored from their normal positions so it wasnt his hearth that was pierced and with the pipe still in his body he somehow survived after being in the hospital for months and undergoing operations after operations to save his lungs and his life. If Edward had pulled the pipe out of Kris body he would''ve died there. ... After being in the hospital for half a year in a comatous state Kris finally awoke and couldn''t comprehend what exactly happened and why he was where he is. "Oh you are finally awake! Fabian come here Kris woke up!"(Pierre) "Man we thought you were hone, nice to see you up again. You should''ve seen you. It must''ve been god that saved you seeing how you are always a religious Kr1st!"(Fabian) Both Pierre and Fabian had tears in their eyes as after half a year they nearly lost hope to see Kris wake up ever again. The doctors told them that his chances would be around 10% to survive and were slowly starting to discuss if just letting him die would not be the better alternative. "We told them our Kris would never just lay around here sleeping all day long, they wouldn''t trust us that you a fighter in your heart. We still have to get to the top with DaKingz after all right? Hahahaha"(Fabian) Still not understanding a word they told him Kris tried to get up but noticed that he can''t. But not because he was bound or something else but because he felt incredibly weak and it was even hard to move his head to look at his friends. After some days in the hospital and being told everything from his friends and the nurses the police came to ask him about a possible motive of Edward and to end their investigations. At that time Edward was already in the prison for a lifetime. "I never thought that Edward would do anything to us. He was like a big brother to me, I spent my whole life growing up with him being there if my parents were out. What happened to this gentle loving man that he ended up ... murder... in....g......"(Kris) Only now fully understanding what it meant he broke down in tears. He will never see his family again and the sadness just overwhelmed him now that he had to speak about it. Still crying as the police silently left his room Kris cried himself to sleep. ''Why would he do this? WHY EDWARD, WHY? ... why ... why'' A few months later the police finally ended their investigations and got Edward to tell them his motive. He said that from the beginning on he only worked for them because the pay was good and he had a secure spot. But as his family became poorer the money he earned was not enough and eveytime someone of Kris family bought new things he felt a deep hatred building up in his heart. Just the week before he murdered them his family died being witness to some deal a rich family made after they were employed as cheap workers there. Setting Kris family to the same level as the other rich arrogant family he let his hate out and did what he did. ''Just why Edward? DAMN, why didnt you tell us your misery... you were part of our family... you were my brother... after all.... DAMN'' Now Kris was released from the hospital but where could he go? He had no more family and no aunts or something similar. His friends wanted to get their parents to let him stay but due to him not being an adult yet he was brough to an orphanage and then to another family whose duty is to let him rebuild his relationship to parental figures but all he did was close himself out from them. Once he started to attend school again Fabian and Pierre instantly rushed to him. "Hey what''s up? You''re finally up again for another round of enduring this endless pain called school?" (Fabian) "Hey Kris, how are you?" (Pierre) "Hello, I''m fine, thanks" (Kris) Being even more concerned now that they actually noticed Kris moody atmosphere for the time being they just try to cheer him up and hope that in due time he is once again his cheerful self of before. Just a few weeks later Kris new family moved away to the other side of the country and he still not paying attention to anything in particular didn''t even say goodbye to his friends. They had to receive the news from their teacher and several attempts to get into connection with Kris all ended up not working so after a few months they were forced to stop and move on with the feeling of having lost something in the progress. On the other side of the country Kris was still blaming himself for the things that happened. ''Edward... this is all my fault. How couldn''t I see that he was in vain?... I should''ve stopped him, or helped him or ... Atleast notice it and solve the situation! DAMN!!! On the other side of the county there is a new student in one of the local schools. He is 16 years old and his name is Kris. The kids in his new class think that he is kinda weird because he never engages a conversation and always seems to be absentminded. Since he is already a new student they just let him be after the first few weeks and accept that nothing is different to before except his existence in class. Nearly 1 years go by like this with his class occasionally trying to integrate him every 1 or 2 months. During this time at first Kris just didn''t pay attention to anything else and tryed to sort through his thoughts and was occupied with his growing depressions because he blamed himself to be the reason why his whole family died. After this first year passed his thoughts started to become more straightforward again and he accepts that he couldn''t have done anything about it after searching through his memories for all the time to find some place where he could have noticed Edwards behaviour or stopped him somehow but there just was no such time so after all this time he could finally accept that the whole situation was not his fault and start paying attention to everything else again. The next week he sorted through his thought he approached his new family and wanted to say sorry about all the time he just behaved as if they weren''t even there with the plan to do some homework things or something else, maybe cooking, for the family so he could integrate somehow and start a new part of hsi life. In school something happened that was already thought to be impossible by most people, the guy named Kris approached someone and started to talk a bit with the classmembers. Although he never really told them the reason why his behaviour changed like this or his backstory in general after some weeks Kris felt like he finally arrived in his new class, feeling sad about how he treated his friends before he moved. He moved away just like that and didn''t even speak with them about anything at all. Feeling a deep shame about this all he didn''d dare to speak with them at all even though the contacts of them are still saved somewhere and if not finding the contacts of people is not an impossible task if you know where they live. The people he now calls his friends really remind him of old crew because just like them they love to play games and after some months of hesistation soon in a brand new MMORPG a character named Kr1st was created. With his new family it was harder to get some free time to play though. Once he tried to help some more it was like very task that all around the house was dumped onto Kris. His nice behaviour was used as a cheap workforce especially once the garden didn''t seem to be nice enough anymore and had to be complettely renewed. After some time and trying to talk with them the only conclusion was that the only reason why they had accepted Kris was because of the money the government gave them to support him and the first year was just perfect for them because it was like still living alone but receiving more money for it. So even though Kris found some people in class he called friends he never really opened up to them and told them about his past or showed his real personality. For them he was just a nice guy who always behaves nice and tries to help where he can but somehow is weird because they never got an explanation for his ehavior the first year and nobody knew anything about his time before moving there. Finishing the school a year later Kris was forced to move out of his new families house because they were no longer obliged to care for him and without any other contacts in the surrounding cities because the friendship with his classmates just didn''t hold anymore after school ended. The only thing for him to do while searching for a job was trying to find some hobby and in the end he started to play games more and more and involved himself into light novels and fanfictions based around virtual reality just because with VR there would be soo many more possibilities of MMORPG worlds. To follow his only real hobby and per chance finding a university that just now started a field of study in informatics and mechanics of virtual reality the next thing he did was trying to attend this university and follow the one hobby that was left to him... Gaming. Just that year the company Prion technologies who already enlightened the world with a viable virtual reality capsule a few years prior ,and have been working in silence ever since then, did what nobody expected. They announced that they are working on a VRMMORPG game called ''Sui Generis'' and in a few years it is gonna be released. Most people were confused at first because Prion technologies, even though they were one of the biggest companies in the world, did not have a single product that indicated them working on a game ever in the future. After the first shock some people just decided to ignore that announcement but for every gamer around the world a pure joy could be seen on their faces in the next weeks. One of these people is Kris although hiding those emotions is his forte. For half a year he followed every single article that was made about ''Sui Generis'' and then Kris was sure that the game is really gonna come out and be great so a decision was made at that point. For the next years besides studying of course (nothing is more important than a good education and possibilities for the future, not even gaming) a clear routine established in his daily life. He would train in various martial arts a few days every week and recap about every MMORPG he played and got some more extra materials to study (more games...). The one set goal of his was to find the secrets in the games settings as he has always subconsciously done before but this time Kris is gonna be prepared for everything. After a short period of time after an article it was already known that the world is gonna be a fantasy-like one. So after some weeks he started to write down various theories that could help him gather knowledge down in a notebook. Theories about how magic might work, the impact of stats and various other things. Thus a new stage of his life started that starts with information gathering and training for a new game and then planning to involve himself into it soo much that he can forget about all the worries he has and just be happy playing the game. Chapter 2: "Sui Generis" Chapter 2: Sui Generis Half a year of training got Kris quite a way already. One would not he looks like an athlete but atleast like a well-trained person. After changing up his eating habits a bit from an ''I don''t care what i eat'' attitude to a well defined plan and then starting excercises everything went as planned. After a few weeks of starting the training regime he also starts to attend some courses of martial arts and medieval martial arts. Those also involves practicing with a sword and some hand to hand combat methods. And everything he does is always done with full concentration to get most out of his efforts. Of course there is still a long way to go but even the trainers were confused at the beginning about the effort Kris puts into it. This also involves analizing other people''s sparring and the strategies and attack patterns they use in these. Although its quite different from his usual analizing habits in MMORPG fights but after half a year it seems that he is slowly getting the hang of it. After a few months he also started a notebook about in-game theories et cetera. Due to the lack of information there is not much content in it yet but he got the general organizations down already. Sui Generis World: World''s History: Countries/Towns/Governments: Dungeons(?): Monsters: Items: Currency: Races(?): Race Theories: Races: Hidden Races(?): Magic: Mana(?) Theories: Elements(?): Types of mages(?): Stats: Stat Theories: Stats: Hidden stats(?): Skills: Skills: Traits:(?) Skill theories: Classes: Class Theories: Classes: Hidden Classes(?): Jobs(?): Job Theories: Jobs: Hidden Jobs(?): There were already many idea''s that contain most of Kris'' already proven theories when he played games in his youth but as Sui Generis may be based on a complettely different system it is not worth the time to put those ideas down in the notebook yet. [1 year later/Kris] For students this year a complettely new study path will be available. VR mechanics and informatics. One of the students to start this is Kris and it will start in a few months after the summer is over. After 1 year a general plan on how to go on after starting to play formed in Kris mind. First priority is finding a library and learn as much as he can about topics like history, concepts of magic and maybe how stats work and the main styles people fight with. For those he also wants to find trainers in the start to get more time to learn how to fight besides his time spent outside of the game. As the main developers of everything VR related Kris also followed every interview of Prion technologies. In preperation of Sui Generis they released the so called ''Cap'', a capsule that enables people to dive into Virtual Reality. Besides information gathering and learning how to fight in general Kris also started to take lessons on how to meditate properly. The purpose in doing this is to be able to ''feel one''s body'' and energies in the game so that he can effectifely use mana and magic without a system help. The existence of such a system help or atleast less complicated magic where one can only use the spells you buy is one of the theories that he is about 90 % sure will exist in the game. But even though he is doing all these things there is still the period of free time and that time is used to work and get some money. Although the money is not needed at all Kris wants to get all the things, Sui Generis and the ''Cap'' through his own effort. His parents left a huge account as Kris heritage but he just does not use that money, it does not feel right for him to do so. Just in a few hours today Sui Generis is gonna be released. The capsule already arrived a few days prior and is propperly installed and initiated with his body. On the TV there is a grand interview with Prion technologies founder Zork Dropp and the first time since they announced Sui Generis more than just a few snippets of informations are given now that the game is about to launch. At the beginning of the interview a trailer that catches everyones attention is on the screen. The viewpoint is high in the sky and one can see the whole continent. While slowly zooming in a soft female voice starts their monologue. ''Once upon a time the whole continent of Acros was inhabited by the ''Antics''. Worshipping the 7 greater gods also known as the ''Great Seven'' was as usual as sleeping. Some people though seemed to favour one of the Great Seven and started to worship only them.'' Some scenes flash through the screen with people looking similar to humans with the difference of a paler skintone and being a bit bigger living their normal lives. And scenes of 7 different cults starting in different places all over Acros. ''After hundreds of years 7 different religions were all thats left of the original religion. Those antagonized each other with the end result of an all out war between those. The reason that one race should only have 1 God was their main motivation and they thought they were the only true religion while no other should be allowed to exist. The order of events after that are not known to the world but after the war ended the Antics seemed to have vanished.'' Hundreds of years of the great war and many complettely burned out areas feel like a flashlight to the viewers. Glimpses of great magic can be seen all around but nothing exact. At the end a ruined continent is the result. After nearly a minute of silence and views of desolate landscapes the voice starts again. ''The gods witnessing this war realised that even if they recreated the Antics a similar situation could happen again and so they came to a resolution. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Each god made their own race using the Antics as a basic reference but changing them. The result were 7 different races: Humans: Neither good nor bad in anything humans are blessed with a strong will. Elves: In harmony with the nature elves are blessed with a beautiful appearance and the ability to instinctly feal the nature''s forces but are weak in termes of brute strength. Dwarfes: With the aim to create the greatest weapons to fend of any enemies dwarfes are blessed with a huge physical strength but have a hard time to feel nature''s forces. Dersirs: Hidden in the depths of huge deserts they are masters of survival and concealment but are especially weak against the cold. Rapiders: Traveling around the world with the aim to explore it they are resistant to extreme temperatures and have powerful legs on the cost of weaker arms. Nordics: With a sturdy body which greatly reduces their speed to fight the cold they are the Nordics. They are the strongest race living in cold areas. Keras: With a weak body strenght the Keras are very eager for knowlegde and have a better memory than other races.'' While mentioning the races those are blended in. For every race there is a male and a female example of how those look in the game. ''Furthermore the Great Seven made a deal that no matter who is praying to them the most all they will give them is guidance but no power to prevent another war about which god is the strongest. With the consens of all gods little interventiones into the world are allowed which we call "Holy Wonders". One of those is about to happen... Will you be a part of it?'' And like this the seven different races are revealed and anticipation of everyone is rising to new heights. Kris though is already in thoughts about the decision of which race may be the best for him. In the end he has some preferances but nothing settled as the informations are really sparse with only this one video hinting about some of the races abilities. Afterwards nothing really important is revealed anymore and even the audience for the interview can feel the hype and anticipation of finally being able to play the first real VR game on the market. After logging into the Cap and starting Sui Generis the first thing to notice is a beautiful garden with an equally beautiful lady approaching Kris. "Welcome to Sui Generis. This world is called Acros. My name is Hera, goddess of the Human race and am gonna help you create your ''character'' to become a part of Acros history."(Hera) After taking his time to appreciate the goddess and the garden 7 different people appeared in front of him. "These 7 people could be you. Depending on which race you chose your appearance will be one of these although slight changes are possible to make."(Hera) "Are there certain advantages or disadvantages that the races have? And if yes is it possible for you to explain them to me please?"(Kris) After some explanations of hera and Kris mentally noting down those this is what he came up with. Race: Races: -Human: most common in Acros, no real advantages/disadvantages, strong willpower (+) probably no discrimination against me, maybe new stat willpower?, probably same body as I have so maybe easier to move early on? (-)Booooring, maybe weaker than other races later on? (???)racial traits? Are there even any? Research calls later on! [Considered] -Elves: kingdom in the forest and hidden settlements all around the world in forests, feal nature''s forces, good-looking, good at traveling cross-country, rather weak strength, little bonus in magic (+) seems to be good mage, maybe charisma or something? Good looks are always good!, racial trait in running on rough ground or in forests and maybe stronger in the nature? (-) rather weak, elves are always discriminated... or captured as slaves, far away from other races probably (???) racial traits seem to be there. I wonder if every race has some? Maybe Elves are strong in nature and weak in polluted etc. areas? Possible drawback. There has to be some balance drawback though... [Considered] -Dwarfes: cities around mountains with mines nearby, possibly a hidden kingdom in those mountain, brilliant handworkd, strong bodies, little nature curse after destroying forests for ressources, hard to learn magic (+) strong, possible bonused in handworking and all these things?,good armors and weapons around ,There is always good bear nearby! It has to be there or I won''t call them dwarfes! (-) problems with learning magic, that curse could be a huge problem, maybe even further away from any other races? (???) No dwarfes for me, I wanna have atleast the chance to learn magic and and not such a drawback before the concept of magic was even discovered by me... -Dersirs: live in deserts, adapted to hot places, great survival skills, weak against the cold (+) survival skills from the beginning on, heat resistance (-) maybe even further away from other races??? ok this game definitelly want to troll me so I stop with this... live in the desert, could be hard to get out, low cold resistances (???) even though they seem interesting, what happens if anybody attacks me with ice magic? And will there be any libraries etc. In the desert? I don''t wanna risk that. -Rapiders: traveler, called "Explorers" cause they venture out into the unknown, resistances against extreme temperature differences, weak arms, strong legs (+)strong legs? Roundhouse Kick as main weapon confirmed!, possibly nice fast travel per foot? Probably ice and fire resistances? (-) what happens if i spawn somewhere in the unknown in a group of "Explorers"?, weak arms? Unheard of in other games, could prove to be a really hard drawback and most weapons will be weaker if used then (???)this would be really interesting! Fighting with my legs as main weapon if i understand that right? I would have to change my training shedule then though... [Considered] -Nordics: Live in cold places, strongest body among the 7 races, cold resistance, berserklike appearance (+)sooo strong!, cold resistances, maybe some racial trait like berserk state? (-) berserkers are soo mainstream, often not good with magic if main focus is on body, spawnpoint possibly in a cold town/city (???)Nononononononono, spawning in a cold city? Not if I can prevent that! And still wanna go atleast hybrid class and not pure berserk -Keras: weakest physique, eager to learn, very good memory (+)no obvioud things but seems to be pretty good mage, good memory? I smell a racial trait! (-) weakest physique, there''s just not enough information ... (???)A weak body can always be trained... atleast in some of the possible settings. This is really interesting, I would like to know what exactly the good memory means, and great drawbacks should indicate possible great advantages, right? [Considered] With 4 different considered races there was something to think about before making the final decision. Playing a human is never a bad thing as you always have the choice to play everything you want although being the best in 1 category would be difficult if it is covered by one of the other races advantages. As an elf playing in a way that involves magic seems to be great and the drawback of strength is not anything big for me as playing on more agility to have a character based on mobility no matter if its more focused on magic or not is my favourite. Rapider is the biggest unknown in those races. There are great possibilities playing one but if it doesn''t play out as good as Kris imagines it to be there would be huge problems. Some leg-based martial arts mixed with a high speed that is especially supported by those strong legs and concentrating on launching spells from the hands could be the way to play. Finally the Keras. It is just too interesting not to consider playing one. The racial trait is rather vague but probably they are good with magic because they have a good working mind. But the thing that really intrigues him is that their weak physique seems like a too huge drawback without a similar advantage covering it. With the aim to first focus on knowledge about the world and how it works playing a Kera could be the right decision. If there is really a way to improve his memory in game just by playing them then research about those things would definitely be easier. In some scenario''s of what the world could be like stats like strength etc that influence the body can be obtained through training so maybe the worst physique among those races is not as hard to counter as it seems. So all in all it will be playing either a rapider or a kera. "Can you please show me my Kera and Rapider versions?"(Kris) Slowly the other races fade out of my vision and the only 2 bodies left before me are those two. The Kera as as expected a rather slim figure, my black hair and after some observation he seems to have 2 little horns as black as my hair on it. The Rapider has a bit darker skin and all in all seems to be more welltrained if you could say that about 2 versions of the same person. His arms are similar to those of a Kera but the legs are definitely stronger as expected. Another aspect that catches ones attention is that instead of a normal feet like everybody else they have ones that are very similar to Humans with the addition of some kind of litte spike at the heels. So Rapiders already gained a trait that supports their physique. But maybe playing with one would be hard because it will be hard to find fitting footwear in dungeons and it would be a complettely new style of fighting to learn, with a Kera he atleast has the little bit of martial arts learned so far. And those horns are kinda cool in Kris opinion. "I will play a Kera."(Kris) "Do you want to further change your appearance or stay as it is?"(Hera) "I will start like this."(Kris) "What name will you bestow upon your character?"(Hera) "Kris"(Kris) "With this your adventure in Sui Generis may start. Good luck and have a great adventure in Acros. May your travels be save."(Hera) With this a darkness surrounds him again and a second later a new person is standing in one of the starting towns.

Chapter 3: "Kera" Chapter 3: Kera Sui Generis is claimed to be around 95% realistic. The missing 5 % are important because it is about a reduced sense of pain and less mental strain. Burning alive would be too hard for the people playing if those weren''t there for example. There is a slight breeze in the town, Kris hair being slightly affected with a typical background noice of people working on their jobs, talking to their neighboars or other people in general. Because there are a few little differences between this charakter and his real looks there is a little feeling of confusion that quickly fades away for Kris. It is to be expected that a little time of getting accustomed to their bodies is needed. After appreciating all these details he quickly start to take a look at his stats, skills and more if there is more to be explored. "Stats"

For a Kera the physical stats are all lower and magic oriented ones are higher. Agility can be considered as average although it is slightly higher than 10. "Skills"

All skills in general are once again put into 2 general categories: Skills and Traits. Traits are specific abilities. They can be racial skills or even personal skills that are earned through very special actions but that is very rare. In general traits cannot be learned or gained through training. Skills are considered to be learnable through training and/or understanding of how those work. So although Kera''s Physique may be considered a Trait by its name someone who really understands how the Skill works could teach it to people who are not Kera. It is similar to some noble families keeping it secret how a certain type of magic works, only this noble family knows how to do it and they may even call their magic by the name of their family but that does not mean it is unlearnable. Other people just never get the chance to do so.

The problem many people have with their traits is that it only gives you as much information as you discovered yourself. Now Kris does not know anything about his Trait so it does not show him its abilities. The second main difference between Traits and Skills is that you can advance in Skills through hard training and then get some information by the System if you advance in ranks. Traits do not have a rankup system though, if you want to advance in your Traits you have to learn about it yourself or let someone teach you about it. A Trait is only as strong as the knowledge one has about the Trait.

Skills: (1)Racials: Memorization: no clue at all, try to test my memory later after reading some books in the library Kera''s Physique: seems to be horrible Future plans: (1)somehow getting the skill up from lvl 1 (2)trying to strengthen my body will probably give experience cause the skill affects my body right? (3)looking into late game potential. If there are improvements after i gain some levels this could be a really great skill that makes a hard start worth it #Ping#

TraitRank:Racial
Your Memory is greatly improved You are now able to create a mental notebook. Thinking about opening it will give you a book you can read through. Thinking about creating a new note or updating an old one will update the notebook.
So trying to take mental notes is for example a part of Memorization. And with his love for researching this of course calls for another note. Skill Theories: Discovering and probably realizing parts of traits and probably skills too will update those. Deeper research into every skill is probably a good idea then, maybe some have hidden uses nobody knows about? People around the townsquare have a quite amusing sight at that moment. Seeing a person who obvisously just started playing as Kera change his facial emotions from being awed about the realism to absolute horror and rage about the racial skill to being silent in the end. They must be thinking ''That noob realized that he played a crappy race'' or somthing similar. In the end it does not matter what people think about Kris because he already moved on wanting to train physically to get kinda close the gap to other players as soon as possible and to research the advantages that must be there if there are such huge drawbacks. Being depressed about something so simple wouldnt let him research to his fullest at all. So what would the first thing be that one does in a new game? Going to the next guard and ask him about the most important places around town of course. And that is exactly what Kris does next. "You must be one of the Chosen. This place is called the Town of Groun and the river you can see at the edges of the town is the Groun. There is nothing that special about our town but if you want to go to an Inn there is one if you follow the road to the North gate. Then there is our little Magical Institute at the nothern border near the Inn and a Training hall and the Adventurers Guild near the Southern Gate. If you are interested in blacksmithing and similar professions you will find them on the eastern side and a library and the Governer''s place on the western side. I hope this helps and have a nice day" (Random Guard) "Thanks, this indeed does help me alot." (Kris)The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Actually this description includs everything important for the beginning. Information gathering at the library, physical training to research more about how the stats work and a magical institute to get a picture about how magic in this world works. So everything he wants to do at the moment is covered by such a simple desription of the town. In most games that last aspect was always a weak point in my opinion because they never really explained how magic works at all. It was always like ''You use mana and do magic'' and nothing more about it. And if there were some workings behind it they were always lacking like ''God gave us magic and we use it'' or something similar. Kris always tried to find more logic behind those things in the past so that is exactly what he wants to study here too. After deciding the order of work on all these early things this is what he came up with. First up getting some stat points through training because that decides pretty much everything about the later build of his character since if you can just train hard to get those stat points everything is fine and there is still every gamestyle open to play. But if that does not work then the stat point distribution with level ups, which is still not varified though, would have to focus many points on those since a solo build is the playstyle Kris is going to do. Second will be researching in the library to get some informations about the area, general knowledge and maybe even first hints towards the magical direction. There is also the point that with this confirming wether reading books and researching helps to get stat points in intelligence and similar stats or not. Afterwards it really depends on his situation. Running out of food or money to buy more would require doing missions early on. Otherwise going to the magical institute would be the favourable path. In the long run learning some crafts would also compliment going solo. Thus the Southern Gate is the first destination. Since the town is not really big after some minutes a river comes into sight and right on the other side of it behind a bridge is a huge training area with working out and training their weapons skills. There also seem to be some people watching the progress of other people, probably instructors observing the trainees for faults in their style. After looking at the situation Kris moves to one of those people first. "Hello I am Kris. May I join the training or do I have to sign up for that anywhere near?"(Kris) "Jus'' go over dere, grab a weapon an'' start, we r'' all jus'' workin out a bit"(Instructor) "Ok, thanks!"(Kris) Instead of going to the little shelter with weapons inside, mainly bows, swords and daggers, Kris goes to a rather free spot and starts a little workout he also does in his martial arts training without a weapon. Starting with some stretching he goes through general htis and kicks to finally imagining a fight against somebody with connected moves. All of this may look kinda pretty for outsiders but for him it is the simplest workout and probably wouldnt work on an enemy that reacts to those attacks properly. Usually after that a spar with other people would be arranged but for now that part of the training is skipped in favour of some precise training on a training doll. The aim this time is hitting vital points in a fightlike state. This of course includes searching for a training doll that resembles a human and not anymore just an empty area with him imagining his enemy. Most of the hits and kicks do not work really well yet so it is more of a trial and error kind of training this time with the aim of getting the timings in a fluid motion down to hit the desired areas. The most used moves were simple kicks and punches and a simple roundhousekick are in development as well as some combinations. After finishing with this schedule there is still not a single window of stat increase so moving on training with weapons comes next. His problem this time is that Kris never held a weapon in his life. So he just makes the typical nerd move and goes for the sword and starts swinging it wildly in the air trying to get a feeling for it. After some time that did not help at all the instructor comes over. "Stop with dis''. You never held a sword in yar hands right lad''? First dis is a great sword, hold it with both ya hands instead of one. Second don'' try to swing in circles but to hit an enemy. Come ova'' ''ere and I''ll show teach ya a bit so I don'' have to look at this anymore."(Instructor) So the following hour was spent with him trying to get things right and the instructor, whose name is Larry by the way, improving his stance and probably becoming frustrated meanwhile. After this time he lets him practice some more alone working a bit on the basic swings. Then Kris leaves the area as it gets late and checking into an inn may be a good idea instead of spending the night out in the open. After leaving the training grounds an expected window finally showed up.
After one day of training you gained these stats
Strength+1
Endurance+1
In general this is nice for Kris because it proves that training stats is possible. There is a bad feeling lingering beyond it though because he overheard other people talking about how they gained stat points after 2 hours of half-assed training already and he got only one in strength and endurance after nearly spending 3 hours intensively training.
A skill has been updated.

After a few minutes of collecting himself once again about this seemingly aweful skill he tries to console himself. Trying to level the skill may make those things easier and maybe a hidden perk is that gaining mental stats is easier for him? Anyways as he is thinking about those stats he notices that this action allows him to gain some simple explanations about what the stats do. Stats: Stats Theories: 1)Gaining stats through training: POSSIBLE Stats: STR: END: VIT: AGI: WIS: MIN INT: LUC: All these descriptions are very simple as it is the same as with traits that one has to experience the function of stats themself and realize what they do to gain a more detailed description. So trying to get more insight into these is on Kris list for research in the library for later on. Finding a suitable place to train is really helpful for the beginning as although the bodies are really similar a difference is certainly there. Being weaker than usual feels a bit off at the beginning and especially not having the condition he hardly gathered over the last half year is a difference Kris has to get acustomed to. On the other hand the improved agility makes it a bit easier to move around. He is nearly able to reach his feet with his fingers when he started stretching earlier and that was nearly impossible before. Stat Theories: what does this stat do? (Assumptions) STR/END/VIT: AGI: After all this time a feeling of hunger kicks in and he realizes that there are 10 breads and a cantine of water in his inventory along with 10 silver. It would help a great deal to know more about the currency of this world already but that knowledge will definitely come once the bread runs out or maybe already upon trying to check into the inn. Remembering that the guard mentioned that the Inn is to near the Northern Gate Kris is forced to once again walk through the whole town past the square he spawned in and then head around the same distance to the north. Through the gate he can see fields stretching out around the road and a forest in the distance. Near the Inn which is the second biggest building here, there is a huge stable and places for wagons to take cover while for example merchants are in town. The biggest building is the Magic Institute and it looks like a big stone tower that is detailed with many rune-like inscriptions and has a kind of glow to it. Once he reaches the Inn he immediatly enters it. There are many tables around and some people are eating bread and drinking bear but in general it is kinda empty. At the counter there is an elderly woman with a certain charm to her but for Kris would be more like a motherly figure. "Hello, I would like to rent a room for the night, how much does that cost?"(Kris) "20 bronze per night, 25 including breakfast. If you stay more than a week we can talk about more."(Innkeeper) "I would like to stay for a week then for 1 silver."(Kris) "You must be kidding. Simple math already accounts to 160 bronze for 8 days, without a meal. I may be a woman but I am not stupid. So 1 silver 60 bronze and be happy that the breakfast is included or you can stay elsewhere if you find another inn near, Sir."(Innkeeper) Good to know that a week here seems to be 8 days and 100 bronze equals a silver. It is always nice to gain some general knowledge early on. After paying the Innkeeper gives him 2 keys and tells him the directions to his room. Regretting to go for such a greedy price he pays it and moves on to the room to stay for the night and end the first day of ''Sui Generis''. The room itself is kept really simple. A simple bed with a chest in front of it with a lock on it. So the second key is for the chest. This will be Kris new home for the next week in Sui Generis.

Chapter 4: "Pluffy" Chapter 4: Pluffy After waking up in the simple room early in the morning Kris goes to the main room and eats breakfast there. Several other people are doing the same thing. Some of them seem to be grouped up and have the looks of adventurers to them while some of the others are probably small merchants who try to sell something in town. Although yesterday was literally over after the training today Kris really starts his plans. It is to train in the morning, doing some general quests afterwards to gather some general knwoledge and get a feeling for how people live and behave in this world and then research in the library in the evening. So once again after walking through the whole town to reach the training grounds he repeats the same warmup as yesterday and then grabs a sword to work on the movements the instructor teached him. After some time Instructor Larry comes over to supervise Kris for a while. He corrects a bit of the stance and points out that the movements should not be as rough but more fluid. To work on it instead of just repeating different swings he advises to connect them and make some little combinations while trying to keep the flow of it alive. In Kris opinion nearly nothing changed and he still moves like a monkey but Larry seems to be satisfied at least a little bit so probably there is some progress he is making. Todays training ends a bit earlier than yesterda. There is no stat gain at all and it is still unknown if it''s possible to attain skills through this training. Stat gain will thus be a very slow but steady progress but its obvious that later every point counts in big fights so who is Kris to be angry at this. He still chose to play as Kera so if he would already be frustrated at the harder training he could just stop already. After that and eating one more bread while moving across the street in the direction of the Adventurers Guild he enters it and is a bit disappointed to not find a room with tough-looking, beer-drinking people being spread throughout the room. In reality (or not reality as this is inside of a game) the situation is that there are some people standing in front of one of the rooms walls, some lone people sitting at a few tables and a man standing behind a counter who is probably responsible for this guild. All in all it feels rather empty. The receptionist is a middle-aged man who is busily speaking with some adventurers at the moment who seem to be players too as they ask him about how to become adventurers and how to start the first quests. Apparently you just have to register at one Adventurers Guild and drop a bit of your blood on an identification stone they provide for you. After the registratioon is complete every Guild across the land will be able to recognize you using that stone and with it you can accept quests and claim the rewards later. There are several different rankings and it is able to climb in those through completion of quests or placing really high in certain tournaments in bigger cities. Most people will be part of the ''Common Ranks'' that range from F-rank to A-rank. People belonging to these ranks complete quests from deliveries and gathering quests to mercenary quests. After that are the ''Advanced Ranks'', ''Knight Ranks'' and ''Master Ranks'' but the receptionist does not further explain those. There also seems to be a ''Hero Rank''. Currently only 5 people in Acros have the ''Hero Rank'' because the accomplishments to get that rank are insanely high and only really important persons are giving Hero-ranked quests out. To register there is also a fee of 10 bronze which covers the costs for those identification stones and the guild earns money through every quest that is given out because the questgiver have to pay a small administration fee that is higher the higher the quests rank is. After listening to this explanation IKris registers along with the other people who were originally asking these questions and now he only has 90 bronze left from the initial 1 silver. The quest board is the next destination only to notice that nearly every easy quest is already taken and not many remain. Probably because many people already came here on their first day and didn''t spend a day training before. Since not many quests are left he just grabs one of them, accepts it at the counter and is on my way.
Deliver a packet
Type:QuestDifficulty:G
Miss Evans expects to get a little special packet of wood from the lumberjack. Deliver it to her.
Rewards:10 Bronze, ???
The lumberjacks house is outside of town. Just behind the Northern Gate and across a little plains area it is at the front of the forest. So it is not that far away. Alas the way should be fine even without a weapon in Kris logic. What he really did not expect is the plains area out of town to be that nice. Right after leaving the town it starts and if you walk in a straight path after some miles there is the forest. On both other sides the plains area stretches further along the river and if this were the real world it would definitelly be a famous vacation spot. In the area many little animals are jumping around and some people fighting or trying to fight them can be seen. Hearing the name of those they are named ''Pluffy'' and look like some kind of mix between a fluffy Kirby and a rabbit.
Pluffy
MonsterLevel:G-
A little fluffy peaceful living animal that was thus named ''Pluffy''. Though they look harmless their jump is not a bad attack if one is unprepared
Looking around while walking on the road further north towards the forest and lumberjack there is a person that strugles against these little animals. 3 Pluffys are attacking him at the same time with their quick movements and fast jumps. But the only problem this guy has is not paying attention and not even trying to dodge. He just tries to run to 3 of them and hit them with a wooden sword to notice that they dodge while oneself does not and is thus losing the fight. Initially Kris did not want to fight here but now this is just too pathetic. So he decide to ''save'' that person and get a little bit of fighting experience along the way. So the first fight starts as some kind of crappy rescue mission. Hitting the first Pluffy with a kick after it jumped towards the nearly dead guy and quickly getting the attention of the other 2 the idiot is save for the time being.
-2 (13/15)
Fighting without a weapon with the physically weakest race against the easiest mobs present. People would think that dealing 2 damage to them is impossible because it is this low but under these circumstances it can happen. And just like that the fight statrs while the ''saved'' person just walks away as if he was never involved in this fight or had anything to do with it. Typical player you could say. The Pluffys try to just charge into Kris and either jump with the aim to headbutt or jump with their feet forward like some kind of ninja attack but after seeing him dodge everytime their coordination starts a little bit. During all that time he does not bother to attack as the most important thing in fights for weak but fast people is to dodge in time so this is a perfect training for later. The Pluffy''s tend to make similar attacks all the time. If they are kinda fast before they jump most of the time they would try to make a rather low headbut and if they slow a bit right before their jump they use that extra energy to perform a higher one. Without a far charge way the kick is their preferred action. Now that the observations are done the counterattack can begin. The next time 2 of them start their jump one of them goes low and the other one high. With a quick step to the left the first one is dodged and after a light kick to the other one, stopping its jump, followed up with a smash to its stomach and gaining a bit distance again the first real act in the fight is done.
-5 -4 (4/15)
The third Pluffy starts to sprint and then jump towards where Kris was a second ago but trying to finish the first one quickly he dashes towards the Pluffy that is still on the ground from the earlier atack and a quick kick to finish it. But this was enough distraction for the last Pluffy to hit a succesful high jump against my back.
-6 (0/15)
-8 (87/95)
Now that only 2 of them were left it was a rather easy fight without another hit. But if even without any weapons and being a Kera at the same time gives an easy 4-5 attack kill how could anybody else with a weapon not be able to defeat those? Not his problem though. Although Kris feels a bit ashamed of himself for getting hit like that. With a bit more patience the first one would have been dead anyways.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators!
Notification: Battle - Win
Enemies:3 Pluffy
Reward:15 XP, 2 Bronze
These kills gave a total of 15 XP, 2 Bronze and some battle experience that is always nice to have. But only having 15 of 1000 XP for the level up to level is really enough information for anyone to know that these should be considered the easiest prey there is even for Lvl 1 noobs. Having to kill 200 of them for the first level up does not really feel worth it. Not satisfied with the low amount of experience gained after the fight the rest of the way was rather uneventful. For him though all the plants and trees were something worth studying. Having some capabilities as alchemist may be useful in the future so learning about various plants and alchemy in general is one of the things to look for in the library and in town. Although it is called a lumberjack it is more like a house with a pile of wood beside it than anything else. But a village probably does not really need anymore. "Hello, I am here to get the package for Miss Evans."(Kris) "It''s over there, table on the right side of the house"(Lumberjack) Without further conversations the package is picked up and he walks back to town without fighting anything this time. Since the direction of the next goal of the quest is given finding Miss Evans house is not very difficult and so Kris gives her the package and receive the reward of 10 bronze. Everything pretty much boring but since there was a ??? in quest rewards he kinda hoped fo more. Maybe if he behaved more polite she would have given him something to eat? He will never know but will test something like that in the next days. At the moment it may be unrelevant but maybe later on if there are bigger quests hidden rewards may become the main target. Without further ado Kris walks to the library after eating some bread which are reduced to 6 now.The library is an older building built out of wood with stone reinforcements and does not seem to be in its prime. Some wooden planks should be replaced but it still is an impressive building and the biggest one he has seen so far. Upon entering and looking around a more important thought began to spread again. What is the most important topic for him right now? The history of the world can wait until he plans to leave town or something that needs his understanding happens. General understanding of the world should be a priority but what would that be here? Definitely a book about general understanding of magic because with there being a magic guild in town it seems to be available in this world. Researching about the concept of monsters in Acros is important too but that can wait a bit because he already found a training spot and the mosters nearby don''t seem to be hard to attack at all. For later opponents research is a good idea though and the training will help further with it. After some time of thinking Kris turns around to the librarian who seems to be a bit amused about a Kera entering the library just to stand around for some time. "Good evening, mister. Are there possibly be some books in this great library that could give me a general understanding of magic?"(Kris) "Hah of course. I am Armand, the main librarian of this place and there are of course many books explaining that subject. You may want to go to the magic guild though. I already directed most ''Travelers'' there who wanted to learn magic."(Armand) "That will not be a problem. As long as there is an explanation I can understand it and leave for the magic guild later once I see the need to do so. Furthermore there will be a surplus of people going there from what you said and they will probably go teach them as fast as they can and not go deeper into the matter so I definitely prefer reading here until everything calms down."(Kris) "Hohoho alright. In the bookshelves with the numbers 12-16 on the first floor you will find everything you need. Be warned though that damaging those books will cost you dearly and leaving with them is not allowed. I would recommend you to start with ''The Way of Acros" written by Grandmaster Bartlmes Lienhart. It is easy to understand but at the same time very detailed regarding all simple ways of magic."(Armand) Looking at Armand once more, who looks like he would be around 60 on Earth but that may be different here, who knows how old the people of Acros are, with silvery hair, some signs of age clearly visible in his features and very deep and wise blue eyes the first evening in the library began. "The Way of Acros" may seem like a book that explains everything about Acros if you only look at its title but that is not true at all. Maybe there is no need to clarify which subject this book is about because the author is a ''Grandmaster'', whatever title that may be. Just how Armand said the book explains all general aspects that may be important for people that want to practice in magic. Probably this or a similar book is or was used in teaching people about magic. Mana theories: Acros mana theories: "The Way of Acros": Just as expected Acros world is based on Mana. It is explained as a power that surges through everything. The amount of mana is determined by various factors. I will list them from general to more detailed descriptions 1)Every living and non-living thing has the same amount of base mana depending on its size 2)The further away one is from the center of Acros, the lesser the mana-density wil become. Meaning that on a mountain there is less mana than in a cave deep under the earth. 3)While in theory everywhere should be the same amount of mana there seem to be areas where the mana-density is higher or lower, more is not explained 4)Mana in the air is rather low. Mana in water is mediocre and mana in solid materials is high. (Maybe mana is in connection with density??) 5)Living beings are able to gather more mana into their system through manipulation of the mana in their surroundings (mana in atoms seems unlikely though because the amount of atoms won''t become higher while ones mana can become more) My mana theories: -Mana is in every living being and is able to be stored through absorbing it from other living beings and generating it oneself (Unlikely cause its everywhere) -Mana is tied to atoms (Unlikely cause "The Way of Acros" explanations) -Mana is generally everywhere but gathers only around certain materials like ores which can be used to access and add this mana to ones mana system (Unlikely but maybe those ores do exist) -The world is gifted with mana from the Gods and through practicing and ranking up in magic the gods reward one with a higher mana capacity. (possibly, who knows how big of an influence the gods in Acros have, you have to consider everything) -Mana is within the blood or behaves similar to blood throughout the body with a seperate system where it can ''flow'' through (unlikely cause mana is everywhere) Sadly the more detailed complex workings of mana are not mentioned and everything regarding that direction is up to my own theories. Probably advanced informations like that will only be available for people of the highest positions or it is not even known at all. I will probably have to look into this subject later again on my own or once I gain access to sources mentioning it, no use thinking about it now without even experience in manipulating mana. At the end of the book several different types of magic are mentioned. These different elements of magic are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life, Death and Arcane. Every race has one element that seems to be easier for them to master but can generally learn everything. For Humans this is Fire, Water and especially Ice as a variation for Nordics, Earth for Dwarfes, Air for Rapiders, Life for Elves, Death for Dersirs and Arcane magic for Keras. Further explanations are not given but there should be no problem solving this problem while being in a big library with a whole general magic area to explore. At the end of a long night reading about the different types of magic, Arcane magic seems to be regarded as ''elementless'' instead of actually being the 7th element for many people but 1 interesting sentence is stuck in my memory that is out of a little book that was in the corner behind the other books and explained more about Arcane magic. ''If magic is based on mana, then all elemental magic is based on Arcane magic, thus depicting it as elementless is right as it contains every element.'' This may be true as another book explained that thhere is no actual difference in how good each race can handle their special element compared to the other races. The only difference is that for Humans for example using Fire magic seems to be almost by instinct and everyone else has to train to the point of being able to use Fire magic just like them but once that point is reached the difference becomes nearly nonexistant. Magic: There are 7 different types of magic, often regarded as 7 elements These are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life, Death, Arcane Each race has one element they that feels more natural for them to use: Humans: Fire; Nordics: Water; Dwarves: Earth; Rapiders: Air; Elves: Life; Dersirs: Death, Kera: Arcane Elements: Arcane: -May or may not be the foundation of all other elements -strong element of Kera so research important! Just at the moment of seeing the first rays of sunlight shine through the windows noticing that a whole night was spent researching in the library without eat nor sleep the first thing I do is eat some bread while leaving the library to enjoy the starting day. During the night Armand seemed to check upon me regularly and it was written on his face that he did not have an hour of sleep this night and ended up staying up all night seeing how concentrated I was on my research. "Next time I will not let you stay here all night long, even a poor librarian like me has to get some hours of sleep and close up the library during that time. Was the time atleast worth the effort?"(Armand) "Oh, yeah, sry for that. And yes it was very helpful, thanks. I promise next time I will get a hold of myself and remember the time. Have a nice day (and possibly some sleep)!"(Kris) Sadly for Kris the night of information gathering did not give him a single stat point. If there wouldn''t already be the confirmation in his own skill that stats are possible to train he would probably think it is unlikely for that to happen after this night.

Chapter 5: "Magic? Easy!" Chapter 5: After only getting three hours of sleep and kina regreting the study rampage a little bit Kris is now training in the morning. To make matters worse today Instructor Larry decided that it is a day for sparring training. "Hey you ever d''ere. Come ''ere and get urself a sword. U''re gonna spar with dis guy ''ere" (Instructor Larry) After that a random guy moves over and we start the fight slowly where both people can attack and parry easily. "Ok enough of dis. U''re better gonna do this right now or face the consequences later" (Instructor Larry) So after the warm-up the real sparring fight begins. Because Kris still does not feel really comfortable with a sword most of his style still consists of the bit martial arts he learned and trying to dodge and get an opening to strike with a wooden sword. Since that tactic does not allow him to start the attack he waits for his opponent to make the first move. What he did not expect was their acceleration. With just one fast step towards Kris he is already within range and Kris already has to dodge sideways with a roll just to avoid the first overhead strike. But the opponent is not so nice to do nothing and follows immediatly with a low strike after his follow-up step. After seeing him follow and expecting such a strike because Kris is still at the ground he follows the roll with a summersault immediatly until his feet are lined up to strike him and try to kick him into his chest midair. It does not connect because he finishes his strike fast enough and is able to block the kick with his sword. And here''s another fact Kris forgot of the game. He is a Kera and so his strength is not the best and because his opponent is Human he only slides back a bit while being able to catapult Kris a meter back and that makes his landing really hard and forced another roll further backwards that gives him enough time to follow up again and strike low again. Kris tries to dodge with his same tactic as before but this time the opponent expected it and instead of trying to kick his opponent Kris is met with a fist midair and an overhead swordhit that slams him to the ground again With that the fight is over. "Lad that was horrible. U should fight an'' not jump arond like a Pluffy. Go out to d''em and try to fight with ur sword. Dodge as much as u want but involve ur sword in d''at. Come back tomorow and I wanna see atleast 10 Pluffy''s defeated."(Instructor Larry) "Ok. Im off then..."(Kris)
Fight with a sword, not without!
Type:QuestDifficulty:G
Instructor Larry is not satisfied with the way you fight using your sword. He wants you to defeat 10 Pluffys while fighting with a sword and not only dodging to finish them with your sword once you have a chance.
Rewards:Further training with Instructor Larry, ???
So on the second day the daily structure is broken already and he walks to the Adventurers Guild to check if there are any missions that could be done while being out in the plains. He quickly accept a quest to hunt 20 Pluffys and another one to gather some herbs and walks out of town to start the hunt. To start of with a single one at first Kris throws a pebble at a single Pluffy to taunt it and moves to a secluded spot. The moment they arrive the Pluffy is already midair making a fast low jump and Kris instinctly dodges sideways just to remember that its not what he is supposed to do. So before the Pluffy gets another chance to attack Kris already moved into a defensive stance to prepare for the next attack. That attack comes as a headbutt aimed at his knee. Since the sword was in a defensive stance with the flat side diagonally in front of his body Kris moves it to his knee and try to lead the Pluffy away from it to block the attack. Just imagine something jumping to you and you try to move it out of the way using your wrist alone because you think that it should work that way. Sadly everything this did was kicking a sword to his knee and a slightly aching wrist on Kris side.

Now that it is obvious he should take this serious he tries to remember parts of what he was taught. Although it has only been 2 days the Instructor tried to involve a bit of everything in the little training. It was something akin to ''you have to use your body just as much as the sword instead of trying to do everything with the sword alone''. So instead of trying to parry the Pluffy with the sword alone he should try to fall back a bit to soften the impact and then move circular with his whole body to try lettin the Pluffy move past him. And like this the next dozens of minutes are spent with letting a Pluffy jump towards Kris and him guiding it to his side or trying to use its force against it depending on the situation. After the time spent training to get the movements right and get a feeling which action would be the most useful in a situation he start the mission to kill them. All in all the fights were not very interesting since the Pluffy''s death came very fast most of the time. They could only stand 2 or 3 combinations. These combinations consist of blocking the incoming monster to the side through sidestepping and then guiding it there with the sword and then follow up with a quick strike because they need to reorrient themselves after being blocked to the side. It took only half an hour to kill the 10 Pluffys the Instructor wanted him to slay so only the other missions to kill them from the Adventurers Guild remain and he still has some more hours until the routine is to go to the Library. During the time spent fighting he tries to not always do the same thing but use some other tactics because the decision which weapon to use is still not done and the way of fighting Instructor Larry wants him to practice has various advantages but it just is not a style he wants to stick with. It is perfect for paying attention to an opponents movements right now and Kris will definitely keep on doing that but it does not allow enough evasive movements for his jumpy rolls and dodges. He would rather be able to have a weapon that is equally good in dodging and parrying but does not take as much space as a sword does. For example he tried to dodge using a backflip while holding the sword. That did not go well and ended up with the pummel hitting his knees and a free hit for the Pluffy. And thus the evening approached relatively fast, he gathers the 2 silver coins for missions from the Adventurers Guild and will complete Instructor Larry''s mission on the next day. The evening is spent in the library again and another day spent on trying to get as much information as possible before going to sleep this time to give Armand some well deserved sleep. The next week had no real diversity in the routine. The days were spent training swords and running around town to complete some simple quests. After 3 days he finally got a sword wielding skill but not something like parrying or dodging.
Sword Wielding
Rank:EBeginner 332%
After days of training you managed to become a decent fighter while wielding the sword. -Damage while wielding a sword improved by 1,3% -Reducing the negative impact on movement speed while wielding a sword.
He also managed to improve his stats and levels a bit. After this week of training and going to the library he got 1 more strength, 1 endurance, 2 agility, 2 wisdom and 2 intelligence. Although Krisalso leveled up 2 times he had no chance to improve any stats or something else. The only thing that is noticeable after reacheing level 3 at the end of the week is that some people who have ignored him all the time seem to start answering and speaking with him and thus Kris added a new theory to his notebook in a brand new category: Ingame MechanicsThis story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. Ingame Mechanics: (People native to Acros will be referred as NPC although I have not prooven yet that they are behaving like those) NPC Theories: - They seem to behave rather ''normal'' and not like typical NPC''s but there are some characteristics that resemble a typical NPC programm. 1)Every interaction that has to do with a quest seems to be a bit too mechanical. 2)Trying to be nice when completing a quest can trigger some special rewards like being asked to stay for dinner for example. - Some NPC''s seem to only start interacting or staring to act in a different way once some limitations are reached. 1)Once a certain level is reached people start behaving different. 2)Theory that the same applies to skill level. After researching in the library in regards to Mana he found out that ''The Way of Acros'' by Grandmaster Bartlmes Lienhart is the most advanced theory in this library and so after the second day his eyes are set on books that explain the history of Acros. Acros is surrounded by water on all sides and roughly circular. On an peninsula at the nothernmost part of Acros on the eastern side is the Independant City Furas which is the city where most merchants are situated. It is also the place where the biggest library of Acros can be found. The City is governed by the most influental merchants which are around 60% Keras and 30% Rapider. If you walk further along the nothern border of Acros there are the Icy Mountains where many tribes of Nordic People are situated. Nobody really knows if there is a government or something similar for those people but it seems for outsiders that most tribes have a chief that has absolute power and he or she can be challenged to a duel and the stronger one will be the new chief. On the north-eastern part of Acros is the Kingdom of Drugas, the Dwarfen Kingdom. As expected of Dwarfes they are knows as the best smiths throughout Acros and the whole area has many mountains and ravines in it. The largest part of the continent is taken by the Empire Strutum, a Human Empire. There are several major noble families and depending on the families wealth their influence will rise. The 10 most influental noble families take part in governing the Empire and once one family has more than 50% of all influence which is rated by military and trade they can decide to govern alone and their leader will become the Emperor. Currently the Emperor of Strutum is part of the so called ''Golden Family''. They became rich because they are the major force trading with the Dwarfes. The south-eastern part of Acros is similar to one big forest and is all part of the Elven Kingdom Loria. Although it is the second biggest country on Acros most of the forest is not inhabited and there are only 2 major cities and many towns in it. In the middle of the Empire Strutum is the so called ''Desert of Death''. There are rumours that if someone that does not belong to the Dersirs would try to walk through it they would die on their second day but somehow the major part of the Dersirs live in this desert and if someone asks them how they do it they would not get a definite answer at all. Lastly there are the Southern Wildlands which are very hard to conquer becaue the land is not very inhabitable. The Town of Groun is situated in the outskirts of these Wildlands. So it is a kind of frontier town that is situated to support other soon to be towns in the Wildlands. Technically they are under the jurisdinction of the Empire but most things have to be handled very fast here so Governors of Frontier Towns have more power than those of normal towns to handle unforeseen situations more smoothly. After this week and all the missions made at the Adventurers Guild Kris gathered 15 silver total and now has a decent sword and a bad leather armor. But all in all fighting with a sword will probably only be the main fighting style until he finds one more suited for him. The blade denies too many dodges he want to do because the only strong physical stat is Agility. With those 15 silver he can easily go on for 2 weeks ingame without having to work for anything so this time will be used to go to the Magical Institute instead to try learning some magic. It is situated at the northern border of town. The Magical Institute is the biggest building in the town together with the Governors place and looks like a wide tower. Once Kris steps inside he can see a huge hall with stairs leading up and down and a gate in the middle. Behind the gate are some open fields where people can use their magic in the open freely. Between those things are receptions at both sides. The left side deals with new people and the right side with more experienced members of the institute. Naturally Kris moves to the left side''s receptionist, a lady seemingly around 30 years old with blond hairs. She is elven and definitely has the looks to match up to predicaments about elves. A very smooth face and a rather small but elegant sized chest area. "Hello, how can I help you sir?"(Receptionist) "I would like to join the Institute to start learning magic if that is possible."(Kris) "That is definitely possible. Have you already registered at the Adventurers Guild or the Merchants Organization?"(Receptionist) "Yes, I am part of the Adventurers Guild already."(Kris) "If you want me to register you immediately I can update your identification stone so that you can also use it in the Magical Institute."(Receptionist) So I hand my identification stone over to the receptionist who moves back into a small room behind the counter for a moment. Then after she comes out again she hands it back to me and that was all there is to it. It seems that the money for the identification stone only had to be paid once. "Is there a trainer or a schedule for learning magic?"(Kris) "Just head over to the second floor and then sign up for the classes. They are usually in the afternoon so if you are fast you may already join them today"(Receptionist) The second floor is not that different compared to the first one. The hall is only smaller and all around it are several doors that probably lead to the rooms where classes are hold. At the counter there is again an elven receptionist that greets me. "Are you possibly a related to the receptionist one floor down? You 2 seems to have very matching looks"(Kris) "Yeah we get that often although we are not related in any way. So how can I help you sir?"(Receptionist) Kris can''t help but thing about the typical NPC behavious again, short answer with the same question like before afterwards. "I would like to sign up for some magical classes today."(Kris) "There are several different classes. Do you already have some understanding or knowledge about the ''Way of Acros''? Our lessons are usually based on this book."(Receptionist) "Yeah I have already read it and understand it but have not started practicing magic yet."(Kris) "Ok then the best course of action would be to go to several lessons of the Beginner Class at first to get a feel for mana and how to cast spells and then move on to more advanced classes once the basics are understood."(Receptionist) And thus the first day in the Magical Institute was spent listening to a teacher who explains the ''Way of Acros'' in basics for half the day. Afterwards the more important part for Kris begins. "Now moving on. How to cast a spell? It is a simple question but it is important to understand that you have to start feeling the mana around you before trying to do anything more advanced. To do exactly that try to meditate where you are and feel the power around you. It may be hard at first because sensing something that is everywhere is hard in general. Therefor we have a big mana stone in the middle of this class. It contains a huge amount of mana so you should try to sense a feeling of power coming from this stone. Once you can feel it try to find the same feeling within yourself and you discovered your own mana pool."(Teacher) Trying to feel Mana for the first time is definitely hard. The mana stone is supposed to be a help for new people but at first Kris does not notice anything at all. "And if you cannot feel the mana yet do not try to force it, just relax and wih time it will definitely come"(Teacher) Sadly the first time he is able to sense anything at all from the mana stone is after 3 days of sitting in there the whole afternoon long. Another 2 days later trying to sense anything similar in his body and now he is slowly being able to sense the mana if he concentrates enough. The teacher also showcases the most basic spells like Fireball, Wind Arrow and similar ones. Probably just to motivate people to work harder on the lessons because these spells are part of another class. After one can sense their own mana and is able to use it outwards in a little ball they can go and join the next class. Kris reached this point after 3 days. Although it took this much time to be able to sense mana once that was done the other classes are very simple and a spell can easily be learned during one day. If Kris suspects it right thats just to prevent the impatient ones from going the mage route but still letting mages start to go out pretty fast. For those spells one does not need to learn a special kind of mana as it almost comes naturally after being teached by someone about it. For him this kind of logic is a bit sad though. During this week the main focus was on magic so the other parts of his daily routines became shorter and more simple. The Adventurers Guild is more active today. Some bigshot just came back with a big hunting party. Apparently they slained a Small Wyvern in the mountains to the West and earned a huge reward for it. Usually Kris does not mind those things but because there are soo many people around now who are tired of big jobs and just want to do some simple relaxing ones most basic jobs are taken and only harder ones remain.
Deliver a packet
Type:QuestDifficulty:E
In the Forest near a lake a Moonlight Flower was sighted. Gather it and deliver it to the Adventurers Guild.
Rewards:2 Silver, ???
This seems to be an easy job although the difficulty is higher than other fetching jobs. With the little money he have Kris buys a simple leather armor and a shortsword because the ones he has don''t suit his preferances. The sword is too long and with his backflips and rolls to get out of the way it hinders the movements although every time Kris does those Instructor Larry becomes kinda angry with him. For today Kris goes into the Inn and tomorow will be the day where of going out to fetch the Moonlight Flower. When thinking about the quest Kris can kinda sense where the quest location is. It would be hard to go around trying to find a lake in the forest otherwise. Although once again it would be more realistic if he had to go ask around for the people who have seen this flower and then ask them for guidance but he already understands that the game logics in Sui Generis sometimes overshadow real logic. Chapter 6: "The Curse" Chapter 6: "The curse" The next morning starts with going out of the northern gate of town and then further towards the forest. On the way some little fights with Pluffys may have occured and after the first ones are oneshot the others, seemingly wary, kept their distance to Kris. Instead of following the road to the Lumberjack he cuts short across the plains and then enters the forest a bit more to the East. Theoretically there should be stronger mobs in the forest. Gaming logic dictates that the further away from town you go the higher the monster level should be. And even with forests near towns or cities in the deepest parts of the forest very often a few highleveled monsters can be found. The indication for the Moonlight Flower is somewhere way deeper into the forest so Kris tries to keep his eyes open for any new monsers or maybe some special herbs or something similar that may be worth the time to go after it. While walking through the forest the atmosphere is rather eerie. Most of the sunlight is darkened because the leaves cover the top with all trees being close to each other. Noises are all around and there may be a monster behind the next bush trying to get him. Thats what not walking on used paths does to one. It may be more dangerous. After a while Kris can make out various paths the wildlife uses that are kinda cleared. Sometimes something small that seems to be similar to a squirrel makes its way through one of them and after some time he follows one of those because the target seems to be in a straight line of the paths direction. The destination is a clearing at the end of this path but there is no special flower anywhere in sight. Kris already considered that with the name ''Moonlight Flower'' it may only bloom under the moonlight so while preparing he packed some more supplies for the case that he has to stay here for a while. While waiting for the night to come he starts playing around with his magic a bit trying to find the mechanics behind it instead of just using system assist all the time. The only thing that is taught to players is how to sense mana. Every other class is just aquiring the spell and then you can cast it if you have the right stats for it. So instead of using the system to make a spell Kris tries to feel mana again and draw it to one of his hands. Now that he tries to do it consciously it is very easy so he suspects a system help there too. Per definition if he starts a spell now it should be an Arcane spell, so maybe that is why he doesn''t have problems gathering mana in this way. Instead of directly trying to cast a spell he just observes the mana some more. The gathered amount in his hand has the same signature as mana in his core but it starts to behave a bit more erratic, maybe even unstable. After still holding it in his hand (inside, not outside) it starts to flow out and covers the hand as it becomes too unstable. The signature changes while leaving the body and has a similar one to the simple Arcane spell people can learn in the institute. Thus he suspects that Mana remains unattributed in the body and just gains their attribute once it leaves the body. Against this theory is the fact that there are several attributed body strenghtening spells. While thinking about Mana the day settles and slowly the night is coming. One more thing Kris does not notice is the pair of eyes watching and nearing him. The sound of something running towards him finally snaps Kris out of his concentration and he instantly does a roll to get out of the way. What he can see is a wolf leaping at him. As fast as possible he draws his sword and readies himself for battle but the world doesn''t give him a real chance to do that as the wolf instantly turns back to him after missing the jump. It is fast, very fast. With dark gray fur and piercing yellow eyes. It''s expression and aura is around the ''do not to mess with it'' level. The charging wolf tries to bite into Kris right leg and gets countered with his sword but it is faster and still manages to scratch him while Kris misses complettely. The difference in speed is not hard to notice. In direct combat Kris has no chance at all because even if he counters and dodges at the right time the wolf is just faster and can attack from another angle before Kris is up again. After some more minutes and some more scratches on his body he decides to start a plan. Sprinting in the direction of the forest the wolf instantly follows him but as the fight is already at the edge of the clearing it cant catch up to Kris before he reaches the first tree. The wolf starts to jump in Kris direction and is about to hit him just as he reaches the first tree. Instead of him hitting though Kris starts to jump towards the tree, rotating his body so that he is facing the wolf with his back and then making a walljump, treejump, into a backflip over the charging wolf. During the jump as his head is facing downward looking at the wolf he tries to swing his sword at the confused wolf and somehow manage to hit his head. In Kris imagination this was a really great plan. In reality he somehow manages to start a backflip, swing at the wolf or better said manage to place my sword at its neck and come crashing down on its back with his own back nearly breaking my neck cause he did not get the backflip right with thw sword and swinging at the same time. Through the pressure of his crash the sword that is placed on the wolfs neck it pierces and kills it together with Kris being damaged with his crash. And that is the tale of how Kris managed to defeat a wolf that is several levels higher executing a perfect backflip and killing it oneshot. After collecting the loot he can finally move on and go to the middle of the clearing where a beautiful flower is blooming. It has a crystal blue colour and exudes a light glow around it, almost seeming to be a mystical flower. But because it is a quest item he has to get it. As he places it in his inventory Kris can feel a twinge in my body. It leaves as fast as it started and thus he goes back while wondering what exactly happened as he picked up the flower. Nearly an eternity later, or atleast a night later he arrives at the town again and goes to finish the quest. Its rewards are like earlier mentioned 2 silver and Kris kindly asks if the flower has some special traits. After questioning why he would ask that Kris tells the receptionist how he felt something when he picked the flower up and she instantly mentions that he should probably go to the magic Institute since the Moonlight Flower is a magical one, they might know more. So a bit later he is told that the flower may have left a little curse on the Mana Core and they are more than willing to remove it. The process of removing recuires someone else to be in contact with him while moving some of their mana towards his core and then remove the curse. "Can you maybe explain how to remove it and I try to do it myself? I kinda don''t want somebody else messing with my body if it is not complettely necesarry."(Kris) "Of course, although it may be too hard for you at the moment. It requires a very fine control of your mana. If you want to practice it we could help you with that and then guide you as your control becomes better. That would require you to leave the curse as it is at the moment though. It negates some of your magical strength and will leave you with a huge disadvantage until removed. "(Receptionist)This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. "Yes please help me like this. I did not plan on fighting with magic very soon anyways so if it only lessens my impact it is not that bad"(Kris) "Which method of learning finer controll would you like to do, sir? One way would be practicing it outside of your body in form of a magical pearl that levitates as you controll your mana or internal methods like body strenghtening. Outer methods are easier to demonstrate by trainers while internal methods can boost your strength if used in the right way."(Receptionist) "For the beginning I prefer the outer method"(Kris) "Then move through the middle door to our training area and ask for a magical pearl."(receptionist) And thus he walks to the training area and asks an Instructor to help with the magical pearl. In essence after receiving a pearl one has to keep it in ones hand at the beginning and will their mana into it. Instead of changing to Arcane mana it behaves as if the pearl is a part of ones body and they can still kind of feel the mana while moving the pearl around. Now the hard part is willing the mana to move. That is exactly how Kris imagines an extra limb or something similar to be. The feeling that something belongs to him but is not in a place where it should be. But after a day of doing this he can already let the pearl slowly rotate around him if he does not do anything else. While practicing there are some people throwing something similar to a boomerang towards practice targets. Atleast that thing behaves similar to a boomerang but its look is complettely different. It is a perfectly circular blade connected to a bigger magical pearl in the middle. And 2 smaller circles on each side of the blade that extend a bit outwards from the middle to each side. The people can hold the weapon at these 2 rings and throw them like that and after some time Kris notices that after they start the throw these 2 rings move towards the middle so they do not block if the boomerang cuts through something. At another place some people spar in close fighting with the same weapon. To him it looks a bit weird but you fight as if you have a circular small shield with a very sharp edge in general. After Kris finishes his training for the day he asks an Instructor what exactly that weapon is. "It is based on the concepts of a boomerang but works different. You throw it in the direction you want it to hit and can then guide it with the mana pearl in the middle. Of course it is very hard to concentrate on that during a fight and thats why most people do not use these. There are 2 rings that work as a handle and can retreat into a position where they do not hinder movement if mana is applied at the right place. The weapon returns because the further away the pearl is the stronger is the pull of your mana in it to return to the rest of your mana. To fasten it you can additionally pull on your mana to guide it back. The hardest part is to catch it again. To make that and essentially everything easier the greater ones do not only have the pearl in the middle with the function to contain your mana but the handles as well or if you ever found a masterpiece the whole weapon may be able to contain mana. The name of this Weapon is an Asser-Blade, shortform Asser."(instructor) And that is how Kris found the weapon he wants to use in the future. Atleast it is the weapon he would like to use if he ever manages to control the mana pearl to a higher degree. At the moment he would probably cut his own arms while trying to catch the blade and thus be stuck at close combats which is possible but not the best method of fighting with an Asser. The next day he comes back and ask for further advise on how to get rid of the curse. He has to feel out the impurities and then remove them with finer control. It is like feeling the difference between different attributes just being a bit more difficult because curses hide themselves better among ones own ;ama. Since Kris Mana control is not nearly at that level yet he tries to atleast sense my own mana and find the curse so that once trained to the point of being able to remove it he doesn''t have to find it first. And like that a week of playing passed and he still only faintly senses some mana that is kinda static if he does not use it and has more of a flowing stream apon using some magic. The curse is positioned at my back where I hit the wolf when I crashed down on it. While trying to sense his own mana after some more days he starts to sense something else. Although sensing may be too much. That something does have the character of mana but does not involve only parts of the body but the whole one. It is weird to describe it is as if his whole body is afflicted and although he cannot sense what affects it yet, there seems to be something affecting it but not on an obvious level like the curse but more as if it would have been there from the beginning on. Anyways, practice with the Asser has started for now that Kris mana control is atleast halfway decent and he can atleast control the blade so that it wont cut me at returning. Of course my throws at the moment are weak ones as slow as possible. But if after one weak he can start to train with them there may be hope that after some more time he will be able to use them in combat. Along with training like this he tries to feel the exact positioning of the curse and can move on with removing it. But after this first week complettely concentrating on gaining a decent mana control Kris returns to a more mundane routine where he starts the day with training close combat with the Asser blades, then the afternoon on mana control and trying to control the Asser and then reading more books in the evening in the library. It may seem to be a very boring kind of playing a game for some people but for Kris its the best kind because although it is very slow paced it will be worth it in the end and he does not ignore the whole history of this world like most people do. His main focus at the moment in the library lies in the history of Acros. The earliest books tell a story about another race, the Ancients, who have a religion with 7 different gods. There is no mentions about how exactly they lived on Acros. At some point in time though several cults started all around the continent. Several hundred years later these cults took over the main religious belief of the Ancients. There were 7 different cults then, each one only believing in the existence of 1 god. After a long time differences began to start between these cults, or rather religions at that point in time. A long war started and no side was able to win so every side started to become more and more extreme in their actions. In the end they destroyed nearly every single place of Acros and nobody survived. The Gods did not want to take part in this war as the Ancients were the creation of every god working together. Now that the Ancients died they were at the beginning of their creation again. This time to not let the same faults happen again every god created his own race, all based on the Ancients in general. Like this the 7 races that are known today were born. After several thousand years and through some conquests et cetera the continent regained its current structure. The Southern Wildlands are actually hard to settle in because it was an area wher the destruction was still obvious and thus it was hard to get anything to grow there and the monsters in general are stronger there because there was a huge amount of magic still affecting the area. Now it has started to become better and thus there are some frontier towns trying to conquer the area slowly again. The Rapider were the only ones traveling through the Southern Wildlands hundreds of years ago already in the pursuit to find forgotten treasures. The only area that is evn more deadly is the Desert of Death. Although the Dersirs seem to survive there somehow and no other race knows exactly how they do it that area is a deathzone for everyone not prepared enough to take it. Also the whole continent is surrounded by a thick fog all around and no one who tried to pass through has managed to survive it. Like this another week passed. During this time Kris gained 1 Strength, 2 Agility, 2 Wisdom, 4 Mind and 1 Intelligence.
