Prologue: A fate worse than death
Oh, what-OW my face. It felt as if it just grinded against a dusty old floor, for some weird reason, my legs feel numb as well, what''s going on with me? Okay, this really odd I think I just moved upwards while doing nothing which kind of goes against gravity. Oh, there''s some people in front of me, maybe they''ll know what''s going on. Why does this man look so pissed at me? Why does the woman behind him look so concerned? There''s a lot more people in my vision, all of them seem genuinely shocked. Is it me?
"What you ate was the gomu gomu no mi! The gomu gomu no mi is also called the devil fruit, after eating it you become a rubber man and you won''t ever be able to swim!" Huh, this man is shouting something about gomus, I feel like this makes sense in some way yet I don''t fully get the entirety of the situation. Is not being able to swim a bad thing? A lot of people are handicapped in some way yet still are thriving. Just look at savants and even physically inept people. Oh, I''m getting distracted... I actually have no idea what''s going on now. Now that I''ve stared at this man for an uncomfortable period of time he does seem familiar and his familiarity links with the odd phrases he used.

"No way...!" I nearly squealed from the revelation, it was more like a little whimper that I made.
"You dumbass!" The man screamed in return, which was unnecessary, I had understood what he wanted to tell me and the volume only made it more difficult to understand. He released his grip on me, letting me fall face first into the dust-ridden wooden floorboards. I didn''t want to move, since laying down there was my best time to get some thought in without attracting too much attention.
This is a scene from One Piece. Within the fourth episode this is where the protagonist''s past was discovered and his interest in becoming a pirate was nurtured. What is so interesting is that I have become said protagonist, yet oddly enough I feel so calm despite knowing that is has a big impact. That brings me to another point in my mind: I don''t remember anything about myself oddly enough. How I got here, whether this is a dream, or just something else.
No, no, no! The more pressing issue is that it appears that I seem to lack... personality. Without any memories I won''t be able to know who I am, even if I do remember something I can''t be certain that will contribute to me becoming a sentient being capable of expressing emotion and thought properly.

My mind has become all muddled up from such an event, I''ve got to clear my head and organise this a lot more, then I can finally think properly. This feels almost robotic, yet my self-awareness of it doesn''t seem to halt it whatsoever.
Firstly, I can conclude three things:
1. I have entered into the body of Monkey D.Luffy, whether I like it or not. It appears that I''ve retained my mental stability and even awareness of who I am, otherwise I wouldn''t be able to be thinking like this.
2. I can for certain say that I had no social life whatsoever outside work and past-times like gaming. How I''m so sure of this is that I somehow found the time to re-watch all the episodes of One Piece about 10 times... I''ve wasted years of my life watching fictional characters. Fortunately for me I was able to remember quite a good chunk of it, there may be some gaps but I don''t know what they are as of now.
3. My approaches appear to be logical and systematic, there''s a numerous amount of possibilities to why I could be possibility in such a situation. Speaking in realistic terms, almost all include some form of science, such as medically induced comas and even such a thing as hypnosis, although if that''s a science is questionable. Other concepts could be virtual reality, this could all just be a single experience in a miniscule amount of time stretched out over a long period. The last one sounds silly.
I can''t even tell what gender I used to be.
"Luffy, get up!" Red-haired Shanks, not quite the charming name, I do apologise for why your parents named you such a thing but it''s clear that it''s not a source of low self-esteem. Well, frankly my character should be trying to do something outrageous at this point, but... considering I have now a say in what he does, I don''t feel like impulsive reactions are exactly the way to save the day.
"Don''t wanna." Simple answers are my best bet at this point, I''m pretty sure if I say anything with at least some thought in it I''ll draw suspicion to who I am and violent red-head over here might not like that idea.
"Come on, get up!" Well, lucky for me he picked me up again, by the leg, I don''t know why but being rubber is really uncomfortable. I thought the person would just get the ability to be comfortable with it along with all the other weird qualities.
Chapter 1: Priorities!
It is really a disappointing discovery to figure that you were an absolute loner before becoming a dense kid, oh apologies, that dense kid is probably dead at this point. I don''t even know how this happened and frankly have given up on trying to explain it whatsoever.
I was currently taking a long and hard stroll after the events of today, considering the fact that I just became rubber and have extensive knowledge of this world. The question that is bugging me at this point is how to use it. Surely, if I followed along with the story then everything will eventually lead to an ending that even I''m not sure of. Although, since I now have the options to choose I suppose I can try to be more efficient and try not to kill myself. I know that tomorrow I have to choose to head to the tavern and start a fight with bandits since that forms the character known as ''Straw Hat Luffy''. However, preparing slightly won''t hurt at all.
Now, my priorities, this shall take some time, I suppose I''ll continue this walk for a while and settle on what I should and shouldn''t do in terms of my actions.
Well, it is finally sorted, I have gotten so far, three list of priorities, it is still to be added to:
1. I must become Straw Hat Luffy. This isn''t something based on pride or desire, it is in fact based on how much impact it has on the world as a whole. Despite Luffy''s reckless actions, he has been shown to have done some considerably good deeds without meaning to. This priority is mainly focused on other people due to the idea that at this point I have no actual self which desires due to my lack of memories.
2. I must train to use Haki, or at least awaken it, it is without a doubt the most useful thing there is in my current situation or any future situations. To awaken it I require intensive training, if I remember correctly, so I should most likely try to put myself in harm''s way to somehow awaken it.
3. Gears, they are essential to not dying, if I am use Haki then this is perhaps the second most important tool at my disposal. The gears have interesting basis and to activate them is considerably easy with time and training. Gear second requires me to exert such strength that my body over-compensates and sends high amounts of blood under great pressures, essentially putting me on steroids. Gear third requires me to inflates my skeletal structure to the point where it is similar to that of a giant''s. Gear fourth requires use of the Haki and is a variation on Gear third, but uses the muscular structure instead.
If I became a character like Naruto or Ichigo from the two different anime, I would''ve been screwed, I only watched them around 4-5 times. So, is being Luffy just luck, or is this even lucky?
I suppose training to use Haki is necessary, so I should start on that first.
I looked around for something that would work as a make-shift blindfold, on a railing in front of a house was an old piece of cloth, whether it was going to be thrown away or not was irrelevant, so I quickly managed to swipe it away. The entire town was quite aware that I was a trouble-maker from the sole fact I was the grand-son of Garp, it bothered me slightly from their prejudice but I suppose my actions have proven myself.
I tied the cloth around my head, covering my eyes and preventing me from seeing, while I was able to walk forward and maintain my balance, it was still a pain to not have to see. However, the priority here was to focus on things such as presences and even strength, that was the concept which Rayliegh tried to communicate towards Luffy. Focusing was able to come easily, while it takes time to adapt to using this concept, I for certain know that if I concentrate hard enough I will be able to detect these sort of things.
I tried to focus on my surroundings and concentrate as hard as I could, it took a few minutes of standing perfectly still and breathing exercises to actually achieve some result.It was faint, very faint to be exact, but I could feel the presence of my surroundings, the more I stood still the less faint it became and the clearer the details became. The man is flirting with a woman, there''s drunkards walking out of the bar, people are stacking crates and the red-head is busy in the bar still.

So, this is Kenbunshoku Haki, the one which allows you limited precognitive abilities. It is essential to learn this for the future, otherwise I might unexpectedly die without wanting to do so. In an attempt to move forward, the feeling dissipated rather quickly, the amount of concentration it requires to use it is without a doubt a challenge. I suppose repeated use will refine it to the point where it''s passively used, however training like this is ineffective it will take years, even if I have time that''s a lot of time. I suppose if I use it while fighting I might be able to get it embedded into me, that way it would speed up the process greatly.
I removed the blindfold, standing perfectly still and looking downwards at dirt-trodden ground, I was curious if the effect was similar if I just focused on presences and strength. After 10 minutes, no about 2 hours of standing perfectly still I had finally managed to get it to work! The faint feeling of someone taking a step, the sound of someone''s breath and even my own heartbeat had become clear.
"Yo, Luffy! Did you freeze in realisation that you won''t ever be a pirate?" It appears that Red-head, I should use his name to be more specific, Shanks has finished his drinking for the day. "Someone said you''ve been standing out here for two hours! What bet did you lose?"
"It pissed me off that those bandits just insulted you and you did nothing!" I responded in a pouted child''s voice, I couldn''t really manage to do Luffy''s voice as well as he did and his attitude doesn''t fit mine at all. Shanks just chuckled, patting me on the back.
"If you''re so angry, then be a man and go do something about it!" He taunted me, I for one was going to take up that opportunity.
"I will!" I declared, running off from him. Don''t get me wrong, he sounds like a good guy, but at this current moment if he suspects something is wrong with me too soon then it might cause a few problems. Although I am quite aware that I can''t keep it up for long, so I might as well make the most of it while I can.
POV change
"Oh, so how was Luffy, is he still upset?" Makino questioned Shanks, he chuckled with a nod and fixed the straw hat which was upon his forehead, even relaxing on a bar stool, however he quickly turned to one of his crew members.
"He''s good and all, but what are the mental effects of the Gomu Gomu no Mi?" He questioned, there was more of a curious expression on his face than anything else.
"There are none, it just causes you to become a rubber man, that''s all." Benn Beckman, the black-haired man of Shank''s crew responded, Shanks then went out into a fit of laughter in response. "Did something happen to the kid?"
Shanks nodded his head, attempting to contain his laughter, it took a few minutes but he did managed to calm down and pointed backwards with his thumb. "Then that means Luffy really is some weird kid! He stood still, which is an achievement for him and for two hours at that!"
"Maybe he''s growing up after all this time. After all he does spend all his time hanging around in here." Makino pointed out, she wiped some glasses and even the bar.
"Ahaha, Luffy growing up? So suddenly? Sounds like a joke!" Shanks chuckled again.

Chapter 2: Youre Luffy, Im Mugiwara
It is my first moment going to sleep in this world, I suppose I do live in refuge of Garp, the grandfather of Luffy, so I was expecting to go to sleep pretty soon. However, there is something odd, it''s the feeling of going to sleep. Whenever I close my eyes it feels as if I''m being dragged away, when I open them I have not moved at all. It is a convoluted and annoying feeling.
I closed my eyes once and for all, when the feeling was present I did not dare to open my eyes to see if what I was thinking was true, it was just a feeling. Unexpectedly, however, I found myself say in front of a mirror, although I''m not too certain of that since my eyes seem to have a blue tint to them for some reason, and the image isn''t copying my blinking patterns. Wherever I was, it was odd, the blue tint was the only colour and there was only me and another miniature Luffy in front of me.
"What are you? My reflection?" What on Earth is wrong with this person? He thinks I''m a reflection when he is making a confused expression and I''m not mimicking it?
"No... and I take it that you''re Monkey D. Luffy?" The kid clearly went back in shock, his face literally screamed from the shock that he was talking to someone that looked like him yet wasn''t a reflection. "I''ll take that as a yes."
"Huh? How do you know me? Are you some kind of friend of Jii-san?" Well, at least he''s not a complete idiot, he recognised that I knew him yet he doesn''t know me. Or he is just still an idiot and is just asking the question for no reason. Now that I think about it, I wasn''t expecting to meet Luffy at all, I thought I had become him. It appears that both of us inhabit the same body, if that''s the case then why am I the one who is in control? I suppose I should try to explain that later, this child needs some form of explanation.
"Think of me as your..." I have no idea for such a thing, this unprecedented event has completely caught me off guard I need some way for him to identify me without any issues. "Twin brother? Sure, that works fine, twin brother."
"I have a twin brother? Oh, that''s pretty cool, so whose the oldest?" Whose the oldest? Is that really this child''s priority at this point? I was expecting someone dense but not a complete dumb-ass. Technically, I should be the oldest at this point, since he is a child who is about seven and I know I used to be an adult who was older than 20.
"Me, so-" I was going to speak, but the guy cut me off!
"What''s your name? Is it Luffy as well?" Damn it, I guess I should get a new name since Luffy would be confusing him at this point. Let''s see... considering the direction I want to go in I suppose the better name is just a nickname.
"Mugiwara(Straw hat)." I sighed, he had an excited expression, but I just chose to continue my words. "Luffy, do you have an idea where we are?"
"Dunno." His answer was blunt and quick, I suppose I shouldn''t really expect much from him in terms of thought, so I have to figure it out myself.
The tint, that''s got to be a hint since that''s the only colour in this place. Luffy is also present when I thought he was gone completely, if both Luffy and me inhabit the same body then that means we are in the same place. Then, if that''s the case... is this place a construct of Haki? The blue tint, even if it was just an editing effect in the anime, it''s still possible that it represents Haki. Then... how was this created? I know that it requires an absurd amount of Haki for Luffy to use Gear Fourth, which is completely enhancing his muscular strength, however this is creating some form of willpower world, how much does that require?
Well, if that''s the case then it''s possible to speed up a lot of things by doing this.
"Luffy, you want to be a great pirate, right? You want to prove to Shanks-no to the world that you''re not just some immature kid. You want to prove you can rise up and become a great pirate, right?" I queried him, I also took a guess at what his answer would be as well.
"OF COURSE!" He was certainly enthusiastic, I was slightly caught off by his volume.
"Then, this place, let''s call it our domain. Here you can practice all you want, you can train and fight to become the greatest of pirates! Of course, I''ll also be participating, but in a different manner." I explained to him, he nodded with a definite thirst to become stronger. I somewhat was pleased by the response. "I''ll be training off on my own, Luffy I trust that you''ll be able to train yourself to become stronger. You have it in you."
"Wow! You''re a really cool twin brother!" I somewhat feel that no matter what, he would always just say something like that, even if I asked him to call me a duck or something.
Luffy was focused already, he seemed to understand the meaning of what I had said. He was practicing hard to create techniques, in fact he was creating the famous ''Gomu Gomu no Pistol'' at this very moment.
While Luffy was to focus on physical attacks and genuine training in the body, I decided to focus on things a bit more to do with the mentality and willpower. If my guess is correct, then nothing is shared between me and Luffy. All the concepts of his moves, I am aware of, even the majority or even all of his moves. Luffy lacks that knowledge at this point and needs to develop it, he needs some fundamentals of a style first.
For me, I shall specialise in Haki. Luffy''s specialism is most definitely physical, however if I am correct about one thing, then I''m sure I am... naturally stronger in Haki. In other words, my willpower surpasses Luffy''s, how or why, I''m not sure or even sure that it is. It would explain a lot, for starters why I''m in control and Luffy isn''t. I''m easily suppressing him with willpower. Also, the Kenbunshoku Haki, I used it without much training and it only took a few minutes with a blindfold. That''s actually quite an achievement. I just need to learn to exercise it more and make it stronger.

For starters, only two Haki''s can be used simultaneously, therefore I can train two simultaneously, so if I close my eyes and focus on the presence and strength of... Luffy, then I''ll become accustomed to it. I''ve also got to practice using Busoshoku Haki, it''s also essential if I want to survive.
It is literally wearing the spirit as an armour. I have to do such a thing while also focusing on Kenbunshoku, this will definitely take some time.
Oddly enough, that wasn''t the case. I felt it, as if it my spirit was wrapping around my very arm, easily and even hardening! That was far too easy, something clearly isn''t right here.
"Hey, Mugiwara! I did it! I got my first technique, want to see it? I''ll show it to you!" Wait, did Luffy just say he got the first technique down? Pistol? It took him a few years to master it properly, something clearly isn''t right here. It has to be with where I am!
Seeing this place, it''s pure Haki, but for certain I''m sure that it''s not the Haki of both of us, if that was the case... I would feel parts of this place specifically since it is Luffy''s presence and strength. I can''t feel any and I can use Kenbunshoku Haki smoothly, very smoothly! Is this place just using my Haki? If that''s the case, then is this working as a sort of enhancement in terms of training?
I can feel the flow of Haki more easily, I can even use Busoshoku Haki without any prior experience or training. It is without a doubt that I have some strong form of willpower, perhaps too strong. If that''s the case then there''s a possibility this is linked to my prior life. Even if I was a loner I had a job, hobbies and other past-times. Okay, my only past-times were gaming, watching anime and reading manga, so it can''t be one of those. So, my job is possibly linked to my willpower. Then what could it possibly be?
"Gomu gomu no..." Luffy was already preparing the attack, his arm stretched far behind him, it worked flawlessly. It came forward, increasing in its speed. "PISTOL!"
I would say it hit me, I was amazed and then I praised him for his skill. No. I was able to dodge it easily, I''ve seen it thousands of times and this wouldn''t have any effect on me even without Haki. Actually, this could benefit both of us...
"Luffy, try to hit me using only that technique." I commanded him, he looked at me with an angry expression, I think I might of pissed him off.
"Don''t tell me what to do, Mugiwara!" It sounds pretty awkward to hear him say that, but he continued to relentlessly use the technique on me. Of course, while he attempted to do that I used Kenbunshuko Haki to dodge it, that was to increase my familiarity with it. I also practiced use Busoshoku Haki as well, I used it on my feet, head, arms, chest, back, everywhere! It seems that while we''re here everything has no limit. I can use Haki forever, I can run forever, I can jump forever, even Luffy can. "Mugiwara, you look funny."
Luffy finally took notice, it seems that I can''t use Busoshoku Haki without hardening, from something like that then it simply means that my Haki is too dense, or in other words it''s too strong for there to be a point where it''s just invisible armour. That''s actually quite problematic. I have so much willpower yet I don''t know where it''s from.
"Luffy, continue with what you were doing." I need to work on using the Haki''s efficiently. This is most likely just the effect of the domain, so I need to be able to train all of this to the point where it''s no longer an issue in actual life.
"NO! I WILL BEAT YOU, MUGIWARA!" Damn it, I should''ve expected this when I told him to attack him. Luffy isn''t the kind of guy to just give in to orders. He still attempted to hit me, but I did still dodge. He tried harder and harder... oh my, isn''t this Gomu Gomu no Gattling?
"Huh, not bad. Although, you should evaluate the technique by yourself." I tried to reason with him, I thought it was a good idea at first.
"NO! I WILL BEAT YOU!" Damn it, he''s not giving it up. This is actually getting on my nerves at this point. I have to evaluate a lot of ways to use techniques and even create new ones, since at this point I won''t have the physical experience that Luffy has, I am currently physically inferior in terms of physical skills. I know a lot of his techniques, but I haven''t performed them at all.
"JUST SHUT UP!" I grabbed his hand while it flew at me, staring down at him, I didn''t want to get angry just because he wouldn''t stop... but I think I accidentally did something worse. Luffy looked as if he was complained about how I grabbed his arm, but he just foamed around the mouth and fell down on the ground. "Luffy, are you alright...?"
I did what I think I did, right? I totally just used Haoshoku Haki accidentally. You''ve got to be kidding me! Well, I guess this sorted out my problem, but in the most unorthodox way there is. I should wake him up. I tapped his forehead, while it did nothing for a few minutes it did eventually wake him up!
"Huh? What happened? Is it breakfast?" Well, he''s a very meal-centred person. I suppose that''s slightly a good thing, right?

Chapter 3: Im Mugiwara!
It''s dangerous, but I''m going to do it; specialise in Haki only. There may be a lot of other things, but I am the strongest in Haki and if I can grow it then I''ll most likely become even stronger, I can make it so that by the time I reach Doflamingo I''ll be at his level without any gears!
Oh... I haven''t even started those.
Well, ain''t that an issue? However, in this time I have considerably improved in using Haki, even if it''s in this domain it allows me to control it specifically well. Now, I wonder how Luffy... where is Luffy? He should be here yet he isn''t. Well, I am currently unsure, but I''m going to guess it''s morning and he went out to get breakfast or something. Well, that''s not an issue.
I suppose this is what happens whenever someone leaves the domain. I guess I''ll continue training for now and wait until Luffy comes back.
"MUGIWARA!" I was going to begin again, but when you speak of the devil they appear. Luffy stood in front of me, he had a pissed off expression and gritted his teeth. "THE DIRTY APES ARE TRYING TO KILL US! I NEED YOUR HELP!"
Did Luffy really just say what I think he just said? Did he en-act the scene in the bar where he pissed off the bandits and is now being pushed against a barrel by bandits? Shit! This is why I shouldn''t leave Luffy alone, he might do something incredibly stupid! Then again, this is how the story progresses, but I think I''m already determined to not go along with it.
"Luffy, tell me how you came back and left this place." Well, I might as well try to test the effects of the domain, since I don''t have much other options.
"I wanted to leave this place, so I shouted your name and it happened. I wanted to come back here and tell you to come out, so I shouted your name and it happened." So... it''s my name and the thought of entering and leaving? Great. I''m essentially the open sesame of the domain. Well, there''s no point in waiting.
"MUGIWARA!" I shouted my name, thinking of leaving the place and when I did, I suddenly found myself pushed against a barrel with my head squashed onto it with someone''s foot. It''s the bandit with the red coat, the guy who is going to throw me into the ocean with the lord of the coast.
I was curious about my abilities first, so I used Kenbunshoku Haki, it was simple and smooth to use, not to mention I felt as if I had a greater control over it! In the domain it all felt stuffy and was just easier to use and manipulate, now it feels as if I can use it specifically!
I attempted Busoshoku Haki and it appears it was just too stuffy in the domain, it didn''t harden instantly and I could harden individual fingers at will! It appears that the domain simply just makes it easier to use Haki to begin with, the stuffiness may be to make it stronger.
"Luffy, I didn''t realise you liked straw hats so much." Oh, it appeared that Luffy just left as soon as Shanks entered, congratulations, he completely missed a way to escape. Ah well, I guess now I can try and see if I can do something to change the future. "I thought you said your punch was as strong as a pistol."
"Shanks..." I spoke his name, it was probably the first I''ve done such a thing in such a way. "If you interfere I''ll beat you up."
I raised my legs. Even if it was awkward I managed to twirl them around the bandit''s leg, it was difficult being a rubber man and the only skill I had so far in combat was Haki. The bandit looked down at me in confusion, I simply pushed myself up with my hands, however the force wasn''t enough so I used some Busoshoku Haki and did a handstand while my legs gripped around the bandit''s leg! I caused him to go in a 180 degree angle and had him end up behind me, I undid the knot and he had his head spin on the ground.
I landed on the ground and looked around at the bandits who were in a daze, some stepped back while others weren''t hesitant to step forward! I figured it was the best moment to try out some form of technique and it sucks that I actually have none so I''ll have to deal with these guys the normal way. They all finally resolved to charge after me, using Busoshoku Haki to deal with them all at once might be my best way out, but with my lack of proficiency in being a rubber man and the fact that they''re coming from all 360 degrees, I''ve got to dodge and handle them individually. With the help of Kenbunshoku and Bosushoku I was able to attack each and every one of them without being harmed! Haki really is useful in a pinch and I would have naturally died if I challenged all of these guys without it.

Actually... now that I think about it, this is very tiring. I never felt stamina depletion due to the effects of the domain but it appears that it is a serious concern, I suppose I have to learn to get better stamina. In the end I was left panting over about ten, maybe twenty, bandits. I don''t know why exactly, but the feeling of my life being at threat and fighting back relentlessly seems to be more than enough to keep me going... yet this feels so familiar. Perhaps I''ve done something like this before in my prior existence?
"Damn you, brat! How dare you try to mess with me!" I turned around towards the leader of the bandits, he came at me with his sword and frankly if this was any normal situation I suppose I would feel exhausted and even just stop right now. However, something is driving me, it''s the feeling which feels familiar...
"GO. TO. HELL." I shouted vigorously at him, there was a strange relief which came from that and the bandit leader just stood there and foamed at the mouth and fell over into an unconscious state. Great, now I feel entirely exhausted, this entire fight was just a pain in the ass!
I turned back around to face the group of townspeople and Shanks, I figure that the story is going to take a different turn from now on so I might as well try to keep something consistent. Even if I was exhausted, I could still stand, so I made my way towards the famous red-head himself and extended out my arm with my palm open. They certainly were quite amazed by the scene they had witnessed. With my extended arm I instead used Haki once again, with it I managed to somehow snag the straw hat which belonged to him. I placed it on my head and sighed.
"Luffy." He only spoke Luffy''s name, which I think I am really distinguished from by now. I also need to head back into the domain, so I''ll use this moment to take it.
"It''s not Luffy." I folded my arms, looking up at Shanks. "It''s Mugiwara."
With the thought of it and my new name, it worked. I had managed to make it back into the domain!

"You could see? How was that so?" I questioned, he didn''t really take long to answer.
"Whenever you go out, it always feels like I''m outside there as well and I can feel everything you feel and see whatever you see!" He explained, describing as if he was in the battle himself. I did listen to rambles, but it did make me curious about one thing: what the domain does.
If it''s made out of my Haki then it''s possible that whenever I exit the domain, Luffy is connected to me and my senses via Haki and therefore is going to be able to experience everything I can.

Chapter 4: I may have messed up...
Thankfully, it appears that the Domain seems to be able to restore fatigue as soon as you step into it. If I didn''t have it I might not be able to walk at this point. I suppose the more I use Haki the more I''ll get used to the extreme fatigues. What is curious is why Luffy is still aside me, considering the fact that I''ve been in the Domain training Haki for a few hours, seeing as people think I fainted from over-exerting myself... which is sort of true. Luffy has no reason to be here yet he''s still here. He''s not being counter-productive, in fact he''s training himself. I suppose he may have realised that it''s an opportune time to train in here without any issues.
However, after seeing the guy in person I doubt he would actually think like that. So, in other words it probably has something to do with wanting to be as strong as his twin brother. While I certainly have no qualms it might get irritating later on. Okay, I think I''ve improved quite a bit in terms of using Haki in these past few hours, I noticed that while I had a lot of control and certainly a lot of power, I had the issue of the power not being able to be concentrated, so in other words there would be layers which had some Haki however it would just be multiple layers upon layers and it was never concentrated. I think I have improved slightly, the concentration effect now allows me to use less layer and be stronger with those less layers.
I suppose now would be an ideal moment to go out and address the situation.
"Luffy, I''m going to head out, gonna watch?" I inquired, it was clear that with the use of my Haki I was able to give Luffy experience and even make him into a warrior without ever heading into a battle. That is also interesting... I somehow have combat experience. A lot of the attacks I made on the bandits were based on techniques that I somehow knew. So in other words I might have been a fighter of sorts in my previous existence.
"I''m gonna train and beat you, Mugiwara!" I suppose that''s a no, I guess either way he gets stronger.

I had awoken! Finally, it was getting stuffy in there. Oh, it appears that I''m being dragged by Garp, so it''s at that point in the story, huh? I''m lucky although, because I still have the straw hat! I took a gamble with that fight, I wanted to test the limits of my Haki and also I did forcefully take the straw hat from his head so I did have a pretty big case against him taking the hat away from me. I suppose I earned it in some way, right?
"What happened?" I questioned Garp, there was an odd sneer which he made, I figured it was normal of him to do such a thing.
"So, you had the balls to take on a group of bandits and win? Only to faint after? You''re too much of a weakling!" Well, since I''m progressing onto the part where I get to meet Sabo and Ace, I should probably let some facts progress in this. For starters, Sabo being thought dead is probably one of the big things, he ends up being part of the revolutionary army and even one of the stronger characters later on which is important. Then there''s Ace, as far as I''m concerned I need to spend more time thinking about my options with him.
In the current moment, there''s one thing I want to attempt, it''s to improve my physical capabilities and to reduce fatigue from Haki.

Fighting Garp. I know it sounds silly, but at this point my Haki should be able to do some damage. I didn''t get to use all of it during the bandit fight and I need to fully test it out on someone who is strong.
"Hey, oldie, what do you say to a fight?" I challenged him, there was a chuckling as he let me go on the ground, before turning around and smirking at me.
"Do you want to die, brat? Here, I''ll give you my fist of love!" Well, I did get what I wanted but it was in the worst way I could possibly imagine. Well, guess I should start right here!
I wore my Haki around my arm, with the slight improvements of the concentration effect the Haki is invisible yet stronger! Guess I''ll get to see where the strength of my Haki lies! Garp came at me with his fist, I had to angle myself in just the right position and throw my fist at his when it came close. I had managed to hit it! Yet, both of us just stood there, Garp''s expression had changed to shocked yet he smirked! His fist had hardened with Haki, that was exceptionally dangerous so I hadn''t wasted any time hardening my Haki as well.
It was quite a quick battle simply because... well... Garp was the one who lost in the clash. It appears that my Haki is quite strong, I haven''t even trained it that much yet its already at such a level. I suppose training it will make it a force to be reckoned with and that''s something I require.
"Ahahaha! This is a surprise, I see how you beat those bandits and why you fainted now! Where did you learn to use Haki from? Did the red-head teach you?" Garp certainly is knowledgeable and his judgement seems to be right on the spot. However if he knew truly then perhaps things would be different.
"Who knows?" I retorted, in the end Garp got up and picked me up as well. He dangled me, walking in the opposite direction of where we were going. I think something''s definitely wrong here. "Hey, oldie, where are we going?"
"It''s Grandpa, you brat!" Garp is very sensitive about that, isn''t he? "It''s clear you won''t learn anything from there now. Since you have Haki it''s best that you learn to train it to become a strong marine!"
Oh shit, I didn''t expect this. If I had just shut up I suppose I would''ve ended up in that weird place with Dadan and meet both Ace and Sabo. It looks like Garp is going to train me himself without their help. I can already train Haki on my own and very efficiently at that, I''ve already gotten stronger than Garp in just three days with it. I can''t exactly tell him that, can I? It will expose a lot and I will probably be thrown into somewhere worse.
"Don''t want to." I lazily spoke, despite not meeting anyone today, I think I can still progress it in a different way, not to mention I also get some better way to practice Kenbunshoku Haki with Garp.
"What? You dare deny your grandfather?" He dangled me even more roughly than before, I kind of expected such a response.

Chapter 5: Maris...
"Mugiwara, you''ve been fighting Jii-san really well! How do you do it?" Luffy was sat besides me as I was laying down in the Domain with my own thoughts. I suppose Garp''s training has been exhausting, I didn''t last two minutes using all that Haki, I think I passed out around twenty-no fifty times! I need to really improve my stamina somehow.
"A lot... it takes a lot out of me to just do it." I responded, sitting up and looking at Luffy, he did appear to be stronger according to my Kenbunshoku Haki, however I want to see if that''s the case. "Luffy you''ve gotten stronger, right? Show me."
Luffy had a cheeky smile and attempted to attack with a Gomu Gomu no Pistol, what was interesting was that he was supposedly stretching his arm less and less the more times he used it. That is similar to the change in the time-skip where he no longer puts his arm behind him to attack. I clearly dodged it, but there was something else which surprised me, the Gomu Gomu no Bazooka. I suppose if I didn''t have Kenbunshoku Haki I might have been able to dodge it through ducking or even jumping.
"Damn it! You''re too fast!" What''s even more interesting is his proficiency in being a rubber man, it''s grown significantly during the past few days. It''s without a doubt that Luffy has become quite strong in the past few days, he''s already gotten down a lot of his common techniques.
"I admit, you''ve improved a lot. But, you won''t be able to catch up to me so easily!" Well, I suppose I''ll try training my rubber proficiency meanwhile.
I put my arm backwards, throwing it even to make it stretch... but it didn''t. For some reason I wasn''t a rubber man. I suppose the devil fruit as eaten by Luffy and belongs to Luffy, because of that only he can use it in the Domain. I see, so this confirms that things aren''t shared between us in terms of power and strength. So, my Haki definitely isn''t mixed with his... so it truly is just extremely strong.
I suppose this does put a dent in things, after all I won''t be able to train gears in the Domain and will have to do it outside in the real world. Well, it''s alright I guess, I did make some improvements to the concentration effect so that there''s even more Haki on layers.
"Luffy, I''m heading out, I recommend getting a way to get even stronger than you are." I suppose if he can work on the gears himself then it''ll be alright. Although this changes a lot, my fighting style will have to focus on Haki primarily now, I can''t slack off even slightly.

"You''ve improved greatly, Luffy! Truly worth to be a marine!" Garp seemed proud of my increase in strength, with his help the past few days I''ve managed to improve Kenbunshoku Haki quite a lot with the help of Garp, his attacks made it hard to dodge even if I was using it, not to mention my stamina also improved! Instead of two minutes, it''s now up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds! I suppose I may have to develop a style at this point to actually make sure that I get the most out of using Haki.
"I suppose so oldie, but where were you going to take me the other day?" I decided to try and focus on the path of heading towards Ace and Sabo, I''ve got to get to that part in the story, a lot of events depend on it. We were both currently resting near a fire in the middle of the night, Luffy would always come out to eat the meals and I would talk to Garp. It was the most beneficial method.
"Oh, and whose asking now? Luffy or the other one?" Garp chuckled. Huh, what the hell? Did he figure out that I''m not Luffy, nevertheless did he even figure out that I share a body with Luffy? Damn, I shouldn''t have under-estimated a vice-admiral of the navy.
"How did you figure it out?" I gave in, since Garp would probably never shut up if I tried to deny it. It may be an assumption, but I think trying to argue with anyone whose name is ''Monkey D.'' is stupid.
"Well, it''s clear that Luffy''s still in there, I''ve seen his impatience the past few days and his eating habits. You however, are more well-mannered and polite, you are also very calm!" Well, that''s actually kind of my fault, Luffy has been coming out in the recent days and mucks around while I train. Garp had a clear picture of the difference. "Then there''s your Haki, if Luffy managed to learn Haki then I think the sun will crash into Earth! Even the red-head wouldn''t teach him it. It''s incredibly strong as well, I''ve only seen it once before."
"Before? Where have you seen it before?" If Garp has some information on how I ended up in Luffy''s body, then I have to know undoubtedly.
"Oh, where? It''s clear as day, when you were born." Luffy''s birth? He felt it at Luffy''s birth? So is my willpower somehow linked to the reason to why I''m in Luffy''s body?
"When Luffy was born...? So that means I was somehow in Luffy''s body the same time he was born?" I pondered. So it was clear that I was in Luffy''s body before he was even a day old. So that begs the question why I didn''t appear until he was seven years old.
"You''re misunderstanding! I mean when you were born! It''s clear who you are." Does Garp know who I am? It''s odd, since he''s saying that it was when I was born and not when I was myself. So does this mean that I was born in this world somehow? "You''re Luffy''s older twin sister, Maris. It was a surprise that there were twins, completely unexpected. You were born with Haki, extremely potent Haki, yet you died shortly after being born."
Sister...? SISTER? I was born as Luffy''s twin sister yet died? I admit I''m surprised that I''m a girl, although I knew that my gender wasn''t confirmed, so it could''ve been anything. However, this doesn''t necessarily mean that I was a girl beforehand, it could just mean that I was born again as a girl!
This does pose a new theory however, if I was dead yet had such strong Haki, it''s possible that my spirit made its way into Luffy and sat there waiting for something. What that was is a mystery.

I was standing in front a mirror, my black hair was all curly, it stretched down to the centre of my spine and was left off there. My eyes were light blue, but the highlight was my skin. It was exceptionally pale and even rough from the look of it, it''s clear whoever I was I was involved in something dangerous! However, what lightened the mood was the dress I was wearing, it was a crimson red, knee-length, V-neck... one piece dress. I had breasts as well, so I suppose this confirms the fact...

"Well, it appears you''re right, gramps. I''m Maris..." well, I suppose I can''t confirm that... after all I only know I''m a girl. However, it makes sense in two ways:
1. Why I am in Luffy''s body. Firstly, Luffy is already here and it would certainly be odd if I was in his body just randomly! There''s no real sense behind. If I died being born as Maris and my spirit was transferred into Luffy due to me being born with Haki, then I''m sure it makes a lot more sense.
2. Garp even claimed my Haki was similar to Maris'', if that''s the case then I suppose there''s even more of a reason to say that I''m Maris. It would be an incredible coincidence if it wasn''t true.
"Ahaha, who would suspect that my grand-daughter would be so strong to be able to beat me! Maris, make sure that Luffy becomes a strong marine!" I suppose I can say that the rule of arguing with those who possess the name of ''Monkey D.'' is completely out the picture since I''m apparently one.
"But, gramps, what if I want to be a pirate?" I argued back at him, he then got agitated at my response.
"Rubbish! You two shall become amazing marines!" Well, even if I argue with him the result won''t change, so it is really pointless.
"Well, I suppose I should get some rest. I''m going to head out tomorrow with my Mugiwara." I spoke the name which Luffy knows me as, I even thought of heading back to the Domain, but it didn''t work.
"Oh, doing some exploring, huh?" Garp questioned. Well, I suppose there might be some problem, or it''s possible that I''ve gotten a name change. By that I mean... it''s no longer Mugiwara to enter and exit.
"Well, maybe exploring is a trait of being Maris." It worked. With the thought of entering the Domain and the new name I was able to enter the Domain!
My face... it feels smaller than it used to, my body also feels lighter as well. Now that I look down at my skin, it''s exceptionally pale as well! My hair is also past my shoulders, this all equates to one thing. I''ve become a girl in the Domain.
I was planning on evaluating a few things and even discussing the issue with Luffy, however it appeared as if my body was being suffocated. I was being filled up with something that felt a bit too over-compensating. However, in that situation I was able to stand up, struggling might I add, but it appeared that some of the side-effects were able to be inadequate if I just went against them. I suppose Haki is to thank for that.
Then again, the choking feeling and while I was struggling, if that was something normal I suppose Haki would''ve been enough to actually deal with it, however if it was Haki itself then that would change the situation completely. If that''s the case then perhaps I... improved my Haki an astounding amount from just the realisation of being Maris. At this point it might as well be a fact. However why it happened is a big question, I possibly need to do some research into my past.
"TWIN SISTER!" Huh, if it isn''t Luffy. It appears he watched the entire thing, he approached me as if he was angry, why that was is unknown. "YOU LIED AND SAID YOU WERE MY TWIN BROTHER!"
Wait, is that why he''s angry? He is upset that I lied to him about my gender? I mean, I''m a literal girl in the Domain right now couldn''t he take that as a hint that I didn''t know before hand? Well, I should probably remember I''m talking to an incompetent brother.
"Luffy..." I stood up from suffocating and hit him on the head. "DON''T TRY TO LECTURE YOUR SISTER!"
"AGGH! IT HURTS WORSE THAN JII-SAN''S!" Actually, after this scene I think I am uncannily related to these people. Then again, I don''t think I''ve ever said such a thing with so much emotion, perhaps the Haki boost I just got or the realisation of being Maris triggered something in me.
There is also something else of concern.
I looked down below, to see what I was wearing. It was definitely what Luffy was wearing, the white shirt which has ''Anchor'' on it and the blue shorts.
I thought my clothes would change, but it looks like I just officially became a girl again.
"Do you think I knew beforehand of my own gender? If so then I would''ve told you so, there''s no point in trying to doubt me!" It turned to me lecturing him, he nodded unwillingly and sat down while crossing his legs.
"Does that mean your name is Maris then? Also, what did Jii-san talk about?" Luffy began questioning me.
"Yeah, I''m Maris now, don''t forget it." While that was the easier part, I don''t think discussing what me and Garp discussed is relevant to Luffy, I might tell him when he''s older. My reasoning for this is because of Luffy''s nature, I''ve read the manga and watched the anime enough to know that if I say: ''I''m your twin-sister who died after being born and my spirit was transferred into you'', something bad will happen. "Don''t worry about the conversation between me and gramps, it''s nothing important."

Chapter 6: Ai-I mean Ace!
"Maris! I explored around yesterday and found some weird kid! He didn''t notice me but he was looking all mean and didn''t respond when I tried to talk to him!" Luffy complained, I was continuing on working on the concentration effect of my Haki, it appeared that the sudden boost from yesterday greatly improved... the Domain.
The Domain is directly proportionate to my Haki, by that I mean the stronger my Haki is, the easier it will be to train in here and in turn the stronger I''ll be able to make my concentration effect whenever I use Busoshoku Haki. It''s a win-win situation! Luffy also trains faster as well!
"A kid? Was he carrying a pipe?" I questioned Luffy, I had finished improving the concentration effect for the day, my Busoshoku is... well let''s just say I don''t think Garp stands a chance at this point.
"Yeah! He ignored me!" I suppose Luffy encountered Ace, which is beneficial. I can finally get started on progressing the story more!
"Don''t worry, Luffy! Leave it to your sister to deal with them!" Why... why did I say such an embarrassing thing? I know my emotions somehow unlocked upon discovering I was born again as Maris instead of Luffy, but I think I accepted being apart of the family too easily. I know the only memories I have aren''t that detailed on my life, but this is still moving on from those too quickly!
"Maris!" I spoke my name with the thought of leaving the Domain.
It''s time to begin the hunt! Considering the fact that Luffy would usually be chasing after Ace at this point, I think I changed the story dramatically, also considering the fact that I''ve been training with Garp for three months, I do think I''ve considerably improved and even Luffy got a lot of experience, well when he chose to watch instead of train. I''ve even managed to formulate a style based entirely on Haki, thanks to all the focus on it I''ve gotten used to controlling it and even using different methods with it.
Now, if I focus on Kenbunshoku Haki... there! I''ve managed to locate Ace''s presence, it''s easily distinguishable due to the Haoshoku Haki. I suppose I''ve got to head to where he is!
I traversed through the forest, it wasn''t long until I ended back at the path where Garp was dragging me to head to Dadan before I interrupted and ended up being personally trained by him. It wasn''t that long of a run and compared to using amounts of Haki which make you faint within a few minutes, it wasn''t even tiring. After making my way deeper into the forest, I eventually came across the little hut where the so called Dadan and other bandits lived. Right now, they were not important, so I could leave them out of the entire thing.
Behind me, higher from my current placement was where the presence of where Ace was located. I took the path which was set out, there wasn''t much danger apart from the odd animal, this would''ve been more difficult if I had not attacked Garp. The reason is simple, Luffy tried to follow Ace multiple times and Ace repeatedly destroyed the path leading up to the area known as the ''Grey Terminal'' and took more secret and difficult routes to get to the top.
The Grey Terminal itself isn''t a nice place, it''s supposed to smell horrible and is a lawless place where the outlaws of the Goa Kingdom live. A lot goes on there and it eventually is burnt down, however it still persists after that and the lawless terminal still stays as it is.
After I had managed to reach the top, I see that it truly was not a pleasant place to live. The smell was like rotting corpses, it looked like an entire amusement park of absolute rubbish! Ah well, I suppose that the random shouts of someone being murdered and theft or something else which was criminal are irrelevant. I need to find Ace!
From the use of Kenbunshoku Haki I followed along the the heaps of trash and made my way into yet... another forest. I suppose the Grey Terminal is just an excavated area where the nobles do dump trash, so it''s reasonable.
I had made my into the forest, the presence of Ace was definitely growing stronger and eventually, I did find him!
"It''s been five years since we started saving, it''s been tough going!" The voice definitely matched that of Sabo, the eventual chief of staff for the revolutionary army. "I wonder how much it takes to buy a ship!"
I had just entered the area, but even so I could see their little hatch for saving money without Haki. Seriously, that''s a terrible place to hide it.
"Ten million, maybe a hundred million, we still have a long way to go." And that is Ace! I managed to get under the tree and get a look at their appearances. Sabo definitely looked abnormal in terms of people in the Grey Terminal, however Ace looked... cute. Wait, did I just say cute? What? Why did that word come to my head? Is it hormones? No, it shouldn''t be! Is it because I''m just a child? Is this what someone would call a child''s crush? Damn it, I completely muddled up my thoughts. "Shut it, someone might see."
"Hey, are you guys going to buy a pirate ship? You''re going to become pirates? So am I" Well, even if they have no idea who I am, I might as well try to forward the story! In the end, I had to let myself be tied up. It''s simply the action they took, however I ended up with similar yet different questions.
"Who are you?" Sabo questioned me, he held a pipe in a threatening way.
"I''m Luffy!" Well, I''m in Luffy''s body, so in some way it''s right. However, when the next question was posed, that was the issue.
"What are you doing here?" It was asked by Ace this time, upon hearing his voice it was like the child inside of me just screamed themselves into submission. I don''t know how this is happening, or why it''s happening. Actually, considering the situation, I am going to prevent the brother bonding rite!

Did I really just say that because I wanted to end up with Ace and not make it weird? I don''t even have a physical body and I''m sure Luffy wants some say in his body''s use.

"HEY! THAT''S RUDE!" I shouted at them, although I don''t think manners are their priority at this moment. Well, the actual reason I shouted was to attract the attention of the lucky passerby!
"I heard voices from the forest... sounds like kids!" There we go! It appears that the pirates from whom Ace has stolen treasure from are finally arriving!
"Crap, someone''s coming!" Sabo pointed out.
"Quick, let''s get away!" Wait, they''re not untying me, why is that? Aren''t they suppose to untie me so that I can hide along with them? I suppose I''ve got to actually fill in the gaps that were caused by my fight with Garp.
"Hey, what about me? If you leave me here I might just tell them about your treasure..." a little bit of extortion never hurt anyone.
"Fine! Untie him!" After they had unwillingly untied me, we had to hide behind some bushes, meanwhile the legendary... actually the pretty ordinary pirate who tortures Luffy! Porshemi! I for some reason have a real big urge to beat him up... such a thing hasn''t happened.
I suppose this is what I was lacking originally... personality. I''m slowly re-developing a personality upon discovering that I was born as Maris is my current theory. It explains the sudden surge of emotions, like the infatuation with Ace and the sudden desire to beat up Porshemi... perhaps that''s just because I''m Luffy''s sister and knowledge that he''s been beaten up by him is pissing off. By that I guess I have kind of the protective attitude in my prior life.
"Hey, you two... I have a slight request." We all were hiding below the bushes, waiting for the pirates to distract themselves. I suppose I could progress the story how Luffy did, but that doesn''t suit my personality whatsoever, so I''m going to try and cut corners here. "Can I hang around you two if I beat up those guys? You see... I am currently being busied by my Grandpa and I currently have no one who I can hang around, my Grandpa always ends up leaving me alone in some dangerous place and I end up being all alone. So... could I maybe hang around you guys?"
They did respond with funny looks.
"If you can go up and beat all of them right now, then we''ll let you be our friend!" Sabo mockingly said, however I take that upon me as a challenge! It''s time to attack! I stood up and discretely walked out of the bushes, both Ace and Sabo did think of me as insane, however I have something I want to try out!
"Busoshoku: Ktetsu-shin(Colour of Armaments: Steel God)!" Although it looked like nothing has happened, in reality I have some invisible Busoshoku on my entire body while my skeletal system is also covered in some invisible Busoshoku Haki. I would try hardening one of them, but it becomes too exhausting! So, I settled for just invisible Haki on both, it is essentially my version of Gear Third. It may seem odd to just jump to Gear Third, but that''s simply because the entire concept of Steel God is similar to Gear Third. I have already made plans for the Gear Second of my style and trust me, even if it takes after the second one, it''s probably the most powerful one at this point... similarly I can''t use it easily because the entire concept is too difficult for my stamina. I would faint on using it. "HEY! GUY WHO HAS NO CHIN! OVER HERE!"
I beckoned to him and Porshemi looked at me as if he wanted to kill me, so I requited! I ran over towards him and I began leaving clear footprints in the dirt, it didn''t take long before I jumped up and raised my foot, kicking him into the dirt floor below. Funnily enough, it was a one-hit K.O.
"Porshemi!" I supposed even if I didn''t use Steel God, this fight wouldn''t be so exhausting and would go by much quicker. However, I persisted to use it to get accustomed to the fatigue. Although, there was something that I had gathered evidence for, it''s another theory I have about myself and my Haki.

I made my way to the next pirate, I put my foot into the ground and used it to pivot myself as I raised my other foot while turning towards the pirate''s pelvis. I knocked them down into another one of them, leaving only one left. I didn''t hesitate to jump up and completely forgot about the fact I was a rubber man, so I ended up jumping higher than expected. To make use of it, I simply landed on the pirate''s back and left him in the ground as well.
Well, that was a good job! I think I dealt with them swiftly and got the better half of the deal in terms of story progression! And... oh shit, none of these guys have a presence anymore... their strength is gone! Damn it! I didn''t mean to do it!

Chapter 7: The Selfish Big Sister!
Well, I do suppose that things did end in my favour. I just explained that I just caught them off-guard and used some secret techniques that my grandpa taught me. However Im not so sure that luck will stay with me for so long. It was a chance that I took when I went up to Ace and Sabo, I wasnt so sure that anything would end how it was planned, I should be grateful that theyre so simplistic in some way. I myself didnt want to constantly hang around them, if I did I would most likely turn into a child and lose sight of a lot of things, which is why I had Luffy take charge of handling them. The conversation consisted of me telling him that I got some friends so that he doesnt have to be lonely and things went on from there. Its been a while since that happened and I think theyve gotten to know each other well... including the fact that Luffy has the identity of a cry-baby.
Ive got to step up my game at this point, I have kept in line with the story development to make sure that some important characters are with me later on, but I dont think Ill be able to do so in the future. At the very least I have to preserve the crew members of the straw hats, but anything else I dont think Ill be able to do. Well, considering everything that I have done, I think that I can safely say I want to leave this island as soon as possible.
Maris! Theres something important I have to tell you! Luffy had appeared in the Domain, he seemed to be excited about something.

Nope! I just said I wanted to include my sister who is with me and they let me! Luffy was happy with his explanation, I suppose I am satisfied with it as well, I still possess my anonymity. Ace and Sabo at this point would just think Im dead.
Does that mean I have three brothers...? Oh lord, I grow sick from the thought. I grumbled out. Well, since thats done I suppose now is the best time to tell Luffy the plans. Luffy, I decided that its about time that we set sail, Im going to convince gramps to take us along.
Maris... Luffys expression suddenly became irritated. ARE YOU GOING TO BECOME A MARINE?
Oh, I suppose that is the assumption that could be made, since I did say were travelling with Garp its most likely that well head on a navy ship instead of a normal one. I could say no and declare that Ill become a pirate instead of a marine, or I could say yes and become a marine who would make order instead of chaos.
Being a marine doesnt sound like a bad thing actually, if you consider what pirates do then its pretty noble in comparison.
However, add in all the corruption and the imposed will of the world government then I am very sure my boundaries have been surpassed... now that I think about it I am curious to what extent I can influence the world. If I keep training, I will most definitely be the strongest, even before Marineford at this rate. If I become a marine then rise through the ranks of admiral Ill be able to have a strong influence on order... and even change the marines.
If I can do that, then I can change the world drastically! However, before I become one theres something I want to gain.
No, Im just going to use Grandpas boat to go somewhere. If I told Luffy these plans hell flip out, after all Im using his body. Therefore I am planning to get my own body, the method is simple and I have a strong confidence that itll work.
Logia fruit.
So far, theres only one that I am aware hasnt been eaten and I want to use it. Its the one in Skypiea, the Goro-Goro no Mi. In other words the electricity fruit. I know it sounds silly to get the electricity fruit when Im in the body of someone who is made out of rubber, but Ive already thought around that.
After Ive eaten it, Ill take the electricity logia while Luffy will have the rubber paramecia, then Ill create my body out of electricity and use it.
The original user, Enel, doesnt eat it until Luffy is nine years old, eight years before the original storyline. So, I have enough time to get it, however theres a lot more things that I plan to do within that time and Skypiea is really far into the Grand Line. If I want to cut corners, Ill have to go past the calm belt and speed up the journey my own way!
Which is Haki!
It may sound odd, but by using my Haki and generating enough force to send the ship forward, Ill produce enough speed to send the ship faster than it normally would! That way I can cut through the calm belt and even the a lot of islands just to reach Skypiea!

Gramps, I knocked out Luffy, so I can be honest now. I plan on becoming a marine for my own reasons and I dont want Luffy knowing anything, so for the entirety of this trip Im going to keep him knocked out. I want to head somewhere, after that I will be able to become a marine on my own. I explained towards him. I will plan on this trip being two days at best.
Ahaha, thats my grand-daughter! So, where are you planning on going? Shells town, Orange town? Or even Syrup Village? Well Garps assumptions are based on locations, so I guess this is going to surprise him.
Jaya. I responded, he looked at me with a slight confusion and laughed again.
You mean the one in the grand line? You think itll take two days to get there? He was clearly in disbelief, anyone would, after all it would take a few weeks at the very least.
Im going to speed things up for us, gramps. Itll take about two days for us! I spoke back to him, he chuckled once again and led me onto the ship, it was similar to the ones you would see in the anime and manga, so theres nothing new there and eventually all the marines had finished loading the ship. Garp didnt feel the need to introduce me since it would be introducing the wrong person...

Im going to use Haki in two ways. The first way is the long way, which takes two days maximum to get to Jaya and its just using Busoshoku Haki to create such a strong force that well arrive in a day. The second requires me to takes regular breaks due to the increased amount of Haki required but it takes four hours. Essentially one is six times longer than the other one. I only said the longest one so you wouldnt call me insane. I smiled at him and got ready to use it. Everything set?
Heheheh, go for it, Maris! Garp encouraged me, so I didnt hesitate to use it.
"Busoshoku: Ktetsu-shin!" With the use of Steel God, I stretched out my legs far and kept them held onto the ends of the ship. With that done I spun myself around while gripping onto the railing tightly, once I did it for a while and the ship had begun sailing away from the village, I decided to use it! I released my legs and they spun around in a manic fashion, after my legs had spun just once, the ship had already travelled a great distance in such a short matter of time!
Not bad! I wouldnt expect any less from my grand-kids! Well, after ten or so minutes had passed I was back up on deck and panting heavily from the exhaustion, I would go into the Domain, but Ive really got to get used to the extreme fatigues so I decided to have myself deal with it for the meantime.
Hey, gramps, I want to you to do something after were done here. I spoke, managing to catch my breath. We will take Luffy back to the island make him forget about this and make him forget about the idea of ever had been on the sea. Hes already pretty strong right now, and hell only get stronger. Theres also one other thing as well; make him think I died. Recently, that is, so that it makes it seem like he was hallucinating over the loss of a loved one. That way there will be no qualms when I join the marines.
Such a complex lie just to do what exactly? Luffy wont handle the news too well. Garp explained, I know he would have his doubts, I have mine as well.
Well, I suppose Im just being a coward at this point and trying to take the easy way out and tell him I lied to him about becoming a pirate. I for some reason dont want to see what would happen if the one who motivated him to train harder to become a pirate, to take an extra step by himself and helped him out all this time... in other words his big sister... just become his enemy. I sighed, even I knew that what I was doing was incredibly foolish, I was even changing a story arc and removing a character. I dont want to be Luffys enemy, I want to change a lot of things and experience a lot of things as well. I dont even know if I can make this world better...
Hahahaha! So much thought into a little journey, you really care about Luffy, dont you Maris? Garp commented, there was a wide smirk on his face.

Chapter 8: The Goro-Goro no Mi is mine!
4 Hours later...
I admit, there was a good improvement in the amount of fatigue I receive when I used Haki and the boost on the ship. It seems that weve already arrived and without any distractions either! Now, all I need to do is to... find a way into Skypiea.
So, what exactly are planning on doing here, Maris? Garp questioned me, I looked up into the sky and just blankly stared at it.
In the story, a whirlpool originally sucked up the straw hats and the knock-up stream sent them flying up into the white sea, however the straw hats also had wings on their ship... that I can think of an easy solution to and while its not the best idea, its to save a lot of time.
Gramps, Im going to break the ships sides. I informed him, while it was to be polite Im certain the fact that I just ran to the lower deck without listening to him negates that. The knock-up stream changes place every time, so Ill have to find it after I... renovate the ship.
It was simple, with Busoshoku Haki I broke off sections of the ship, it took some time to nail them sideways onto the ship and even angle them so they have a tear-drop shape, not to mention I had to reconstruct the walls because Garp got angry that I broke them.
All in all, it took about two hours.
You just broke the ship to give it wings! Garp furiously stated. You didnt even make them good!
Its makeshift, Ill remove them afterwards! Just hold on for a second, jeez... Garps complaining wasnt done, but I did manage to put it on hold. Right now, I have to use Kenbunshoku Haki to find out where the knock-up stream since it changes every time. It is most definitely not easy, since to use it passively at this point I can only cover a short range, around 2 metres, any further and Ill have to concentrate. Gramps, order all your guys to get under deck.
OI! EVERYONE GET UNDER DECK! Wow, that was surprisingly easy, I guess I should use his influence later on in the future. It seems that he knows what Ill do at this point. Ill be under as well, dont want you knocking me out either.
He chuckled before he left to head downstairs, I could only sigh in response. It seems that I oddly have a habit of using Haoshoku Haki whenever I try to expand the distance I cover with Kenbunshoku Haki, I know they dont work in turn with one another which is probably why its just so odd.
I shut my eyes, concentrating around me, when I broke 10 metres the sea already began to shake, I guess thats the point in which I just cant help using Haoshoku Haki. At around 50 metres, I could see deep into the town of Jaya and even a bit down into the see... I also caused a lot of things to faint. When I was able to see 100 metres through my Haki the ship was starting to chip away by itself, it was a sign that I should hurry up and find the stream.
It took until 10,000 metres until I found... well Skypiea, I tried going into bigger distances more quicker so that I would limit the amount of people who fainted and the damage to the ship. Currently, I am around 3 kilometres away from the stream and if I sail there quickly Ill make it within a few minutes!
Gramps! I found where we need to- I suppose I shouldnt be surprised by what I saw below deck, everyone had fainted. I guess I have no one to currently drive the ship at this point, except for me, which sounds silly since I have no experience whatsoever driving a ship.

How hard can it be?
I did return to the upper deck and approached the steering wheel with caution, I didnt want to mess it up somehow and end up with no way to travel at all. A brimming confidence did overtake me at that moment, I grasped onto a wheel and even used my Busoshoku Haki to undo the sails, when it began sailing and left the port, I directed the wheel the opposite way of which I wanted to go and appeared to head into the direction I desired.
I was not aware that this was how a ship worked, at best it was just a guess to see if I would get it moving at all, I got lucky again...
10 Minutes Later
With the use of some Haki to provide a further boost I made it within 10 minutes, now Im standing at where the supposed stream is according to my Haki. I guess waiting is all I can do at this point since the stream triggers itself at a specific moment, most likely to be 11 oclock according to the original story. Or is the time at which its triggered random as well?
I know it may be quite dismissive of me to blame my sudden impatience on the development of my personality, but I am growing impatient and I blame the sudden development of my personality.
So, Im going to try and speed it up!
Busoshoku: Koka! I raised up my right hand and clenched it into a fist, it hardened with Haki and the ship began to break again! I should hurry this up. I used my left hand to spin around my right hand, I was getting used to being rubber at this point and it all seems to be in vain now. Ah well, I am going to enjoy having my own body more than anything else.
I threw my fist down, not stretching it, and released the the twist it had on, all of a sudden it triggered exactly what I was looked for.
A giant whirlpool.
MARIS! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? Garp was the only one who had awoken, he saw that we were in a giant whirlpool and if tried to make any escape it wasnt going to work at any cost. I guess I did somewhat trick him, didnt I?
Trust me! I know what Im doing, Im sending us into the sky. Well, I am right and at the same time I sound officially insane, dont I? So in other words I should just make him faint again, shouldnt I?
I had to use Haoshoku Haki to cause Garp to faint, otherwise he wouldve interfered again. I should really get used to using it without any other form of Haki, it becomes even more tiring. I dragged him back down to the lower deck with the other marines and resumed staring at the giant whirlpool.
Any moment now and Ill...
As I was thinking, the whirlpool just disappeared after having been there for an ongoing while, I was sure that it was instantaneous whenever it finished and Id be up in the sky already! Did I just stop it because I used Haki to speed it up or something?
Of course, I was surprised when it suddenly shot the ship upwards, it was heading far into the sky and travelled distances which would put the amount I travelled to shame! However, knowing the story Im sure I wont be able to head into the white-white sea, which is where Skypiea and other sky islands are located. Ive got to head there!

The wings were holding up and were doing a pretty decent job for makeshift wings, I would get to the white-sea no problem, but thats not what I want. I want to get to the one above it.
Im already over the amount my stamina can take and Im still standing, I suppose theres no harm going all out at this point.
"Busoshoku: Ktetsu-shin!" I used Steel God, however the difference this time is that I hardened both my skin and bones, an exhausting procedure but right now I dont feel like I can stop! The ship was flying vertically and gravity didnt appear to force me down and thanks to the sails and steering I can make it up the stream.
It was a quick ride and there was nothing in my way, the reason I had activated Steel God was now coming in fruition. Once I had reached the top of the stream and busted through the clouds, the ship was at a point where it was vertically facing into the sky again. I took the chance and used one of my own techniques!
Busoshoku: Kuma no hk(Colour of Armaments: Roar of the Bear)! I released all the Busoshoku Haki I could muster up, sending the entire ship rushing into the sky even more, it broke past the clouds in the sky and caused the ship to enter the white-white sea, of course at the expense of a large portion of the white sea was dispersed.
Again, in the white-white sea the ship was at a point where it was vertically in the sky, I rushed up the ship, focusing all I could on Kenbunshoku Haki, I had to locate the Goro-Goro no Mi! It didnt take long with all the Haki I had poured in, not to mention it also caused a lot of the clouds to move away.
In front of me, I could see the close resemblance of what is Skypiea, however I turned my direction towards the south-east, another island stood there, what was quite odd was that it looked like it was on the moon!
That wasnt relevant, I had to get the Goro-Goro no Mi, there wasnt much time for exploring or even trying to go on an expedition for it, so I threw my arm backwards and sent it stretching forward.
It went far, really far, further than Ive think Ive ever seen it go in any of the story. However, it felt as if it was drawing short and even if all my thoughts knew that, I for one couldnt accept it.
GO MORE! YOU STUPID ARM! I unintentionally poured some Haki into it, however that caused me to have an idea. Even if the ship was quite damaged at this point, I still had to get it. I faced my hand in the direction facing me and released another blast of Busoshoku Haki, it pushed it forward yet again, with my Kenbunshoku Haki I was able to see it within the reach of it, within the midst of a forest, so I grasped it and shot my arm back as fast as I could!
It was here! After all this painful usage of Haki I had gotten it!
It had a bunch of swirls on it and even pointed out a bit, but in the end I just ate it! And oh God... it tastes horrible. I might as well just eat rotten pork or even dead corpses or something! I could have died from such horrible tastes!
Well... now its time to send this ship back to the ground.
Around ten minutes later of the ship descending through a bunch of holes and landing back into the blue sea.
I... am so tired. I am surprised I mustered so much energy at all, I should be dead at this point! I used one of my new techniques with a fully hardened version of Steel God, yet Im still standing... I guess I should finally make my body instead of torturing Luffys anymore...
I picked up a sword which was on a rack, touching the blade. I tried with an indescribable amount of effort... and within fifty or sixty minutes and about four hundred tries later, I had gotten a sword to conduct electricity! While it was still brimming with it, I stabbed the air and created a body of electricity floating in the air.
Before I could see if I had gotten it right, there was a sudden jolt and everything went dark. Considering the immeasurable amount of books I had read... this means I caused a reaction where my spirit just jumped into its own body, right?
I could open my eyes, it was a new feeling, much lighter than when I used to do it in Luffys body. In front of me, I could see I was standing on the ship, Luffy was sleeping right in front of me on the ground... and Im here... standing in front of him!
I rushed towards the side of the boat, seeing all I could within the waters reflection! My pale skin is here! My black and curly hair! Im a seven year old girl!
Finally!
I turned around to look at Luffy ignorantly sleeping away, Im not sure if... oh, Im feeling slightly drowsy, I guess I did use an absurd amount of Haki.
Okay, I feel really drowsy now... I dont think Ill be able to stand much longer...

Busohoku: Steel God- This skill is similar to the concept of Gear Third, in that it uses the skeletal system to become stronger, however that is the only similarity. The technique uses her own Busoshoku Haki to surround her own skeleton with it and her own skin which greatly improves not only her physical capabilities, but her ability to take physical hits. Without hardening the Haki it can do significant damage and even kill pirates if they arent that resilient enough. The only moment it is seen with hardening is when she obtained the Goro-Goro no Mi.

At full strength it was able to even remove a part of the white sea as whole, it can cause outstanding amounts of damage when used, however in terms of numerical values, a stamina of 8 in terms of Haki would most likely be needed to use it.

Chapter 9: A New Marine!
I feel incredibly groggy, I have no idea where I am or what happened, but I just feel groggy. I know I got the Goro-Goro no Mi and I am aware that I am finally out of Luffys body, but theres something just feeling horribly wrong about this... I should use the Domain to keep my thoughts in check.
Okay, none of this feels right, I know Luffy is not here but something seems very off about this place now. Its just... fresh. By that I mean its no longer stuffy like it was before, it feels clearer and like theres a lot of space to do a lot. My Haki feels good, so thats some reassurance. However, I know that theres something quite off about this place.
I attempted to use Busoshoku Haki again, it worked and I even hardened it, but what was new was that it felt as if my stamina was slowly dropping... even if it was at a small rate I knew that it was not staying constant. So, I went through my normal routine of improving the concentration effect of my Haki, and well... I dont know how much hours it took, but it took a damn long time.
From all that has happened I guess I can make the assumption that I had one thing.
Excess Haki.
Simply because it gathered up all this time for seven years, it explains why when I used so much Haki and had already gone over my limit I could use so much more... it also explains why I already had the Domain apparently at the highest level. I learnt things instantly, I did things instantly, so did Luffy when he was still here, but now the tables have turned.
My Hakis strength hasnt changed, neither has the stamina limit I have... which is probably around a ten minutes at this point, maybe even fifteen if Im lucky. Its just that I dont have the excess Haki I had before. So, if I use Steel God, I should expect that I should be asleep for about two weeks... at the lowest level. What is even worse is that the more I use the faster my stamina drains, which is my biggest issue at this point.
Im going to have to go through a lot of endurance training...
Oh well, I guess while Im still here I might as well train using my devil fruit, which for the matter of fact Im incredibly happy that I got... if I didnt have it at this point I would have to spend days on end training until I have about an hour on it.
So... if I just make my hand into lightning by imagining it...
OW! Oh, that didnt hurt actually, its lightning, electricity, I suppose the reaction from Sabo was justified in some way when he ate the Mera Mera no Mi.
Okay, so if I just take a step forward with it and turn my whole body into lightning... only random parts of my body turn into lightning since I have the worst control with this ability I think Ive ever seen.
If I just concentrate... maybe I can at least turn my arms at will.
A very long time later...
THAT SUCKED! Oh well, I suppose Ive gotten some decent control of my devil fruit ability at the very least, I dont know how long it took for me to get my arms going, but I did feel in the zone so I went for my legs... then my torso... and then the rest of my body.
I did practice Haki my endurance by using Haki, I guess I more or less made a new routine. I suppose at this point I can last around 11 minutes without fainting! I feel really proud of that extra minute...
Well, I dont exactly know how much time has passed, so Ill head out and see where I am! Im probably still asleep on the navy ship or something.
Huh, well Im not on deck, but Im sure that Im on a ship and from the look of it, the chances are a navy one, not to mention Im also in a bed... so someone put me in a bed.
Ahaha, so youre finally awake! Oddly enough Garp had just walked in, I pushed myself to the edge of the bed and dangled my legs off, he had his usual smirk on his face.
So, how long have I been out, gramps? A few days? I was certain that I had spent a total of about five days training everything, I still have a lot of room to improve everything... Ive only just gotten the basics down of the devil fruit.
Four months! So how much Haki did you use exactly and what did you do? Garp was more curious about what I had done, but the more pressing issue is how much time had passed. It took four months to just do all of that! I know its hard to get used to a devil fruit and without the Domain it wouldve taken about a year to get the basics...
I used all that I had in my reserves, my endurance is the size of an ant now... I sighed. I suppose I cant make any more risky procedures such as expending all my Haki on such a simple thing... well actually if I consider all the things I did to get the Goro-Goro no Mi I think its a surprise that my Haki didnt run out sooner. I jumped off the bed, the white dress which I had on fell down with me as well, I think some nurse dressed me while I was unconscious. If they did... I think my privacy has been violated.

Ahaha, you seem to have not changed in four months! Garp remarked. That feels like an insult to the fact that I cant use Steel God for no more than a minute now... and everything else that I did.
Thats because Ive been unconscious for four months. So, what did you do to make the admirals want to meet me? I questioned, Garp only showed a smirk to me, it took us until we were on the floor where the fleet admiral is until he spoke about it.

Akainu, or Sakazuki is here, the future Fleet Admiral of the marines. The one with the Magu-Magu no Mi and the future killer of Ace.
Kizaru, or Borsalino is also present, the somewhat irresponsible character who ate the Pika-Pika no Mi and captured Arlong around the same time this year.
Aokiji, or Kuzan who is eventually retires and is also known as the lazy admiral. He ate the Hie-Hie no Mi and eventually battles with Sakazuki and leaves the marines.
In the chair behind the desk was the current Fleet Admiral of the marines and the future Inspector General of the marines, Sengoku, who ate the Buddha form of the Hito Hito no Mi, a mythical Zoan.

Well, for starters Im really great at speaking for myself, my gramps would tell you but that would be besides the point. I can also use all three types of Haki and theyre pretty potent as well. I smiled, if there was a reputation that I wanted in the marines is that Ill mostly do things my own way... that way no one will be surprised when I do. Well, it was safe to say that they were all shocked... thats pretty funny considering my devil fruit. Even if Borsalino didnt show it... Im sure he was shocked!
Then use your Haki right now. Sakazuki spoke, he was definitely the most serious one from the tone of his voice, it was deep and demanded answers. Well, I guess theres one thing I can do and it doesnt involve me fainting! I used some Busoshoku Haki on my hand, I didnt use so much that it would harden because I would only be able to keep it up for about four minutes. To answer his challenge, I punched down one of their walls and well it caused enough damage to break into the next room and even break into the room next to that... although that was probably the best I could do...
Her stamina is lacking extremely, she held back a lot. At this rate youd win against a captain, but not a commodore, if you trained in endurance and the usage of you devil fruit youd be able to hold your own against an admiral in a few years. Sengoku evaluated, but then he raised his eyebrow slightly. However, if you arent proficient in your devil fruit yet youd require a lot more training.
Ah, well its expected from Maris! She has no stamina! Garp laughed at the fact that I didnt have any stamina, so since he was off his guard I took the opportunity to shock him. It was to my advantage since he didnt use Haki to defend against it! Dont shock your grandfather!
Dont speak ill of your grand-daughter! I argued back at him, Sengoku prevented any further words by coughing.
It shall be passed, Monkey D. Maris shall be promoted to Ensign effective immediately... and shall be trained by one of the Admirals. All of the admirals eyed Sengoku, his gaze didnt falter and just continued to stare at me. Thats a scary man. Aokiji, you shall bring the Ensign along with you to help train her.
I suppose of any of the admirals I would want to train me... Borsalino would be my preferred trainer, since his devil fruit is similar to mine and hes the most easy-going out of all of them. Aokiji is just outright lazy, I dont even know if hell train me.
Isnt that up to the trainer? He argued, Sengoku nodded in agreement.
It is true, but this is a special occasion. It would be best if you trained her. Im not sure why, but Sengoku probably has his reasons and I guess this meeting has been concluded... and Im an official Marine officer, arent I?

Chapter 10: Training from hell!
I can say that I for one dont understand the reason for why Aokiji was chosen to train me, I need a trainer who is willing to train! So far, weve been sailing on a ship for about three weeks and I took all that time to practice in my Domain in using my devil fruit! I can at least do my feet without any issues at this point...
I suppose I can say I enjoy the uniform they gave me, they didnt give me one of the officer jackets or anything but instead gave me a sort of mix between a cape and a cloak, it was white since it was modelled for the marines. They even handed me their classic uniform, the one with the white shirt and blue bow and those dark blue trousers.
However, clothing aside, the entire point in me becoming a marine is to get higher up and try to reform an important part of the world! Yet Aokiji is doing nothing whatsoever and is just lazily standing there and staring at the sea! I think Ive spent enough time pondering in my head about this.
I decided to take the initiative and approach him, he stood in front of the ship with his hands in his pocket and just gazed outwards.
Hey! Admiral, I do believe Ive spent enough time waiting for the so-called training, Ive just been standing here on the ship doing nothing! While my angry words had reached him, he didnt turn around for a few minutes and I looked like an idiot standing there and waiting. After about ten minutes had passed he just turned around and walked away from me.
Were here, prepare yourself. He spoke, the ship was beginning to approach a port. If remember correctly, isnt this Cocoyashi Village? The home-town of Nami and the eventual ruling place of the fish-man known as Arlong. I knew we were heading to an island and I expected it to be a reclusive one which wasnt inhabited by anyone aside from a few animals... but this is an entire village filled with people who will be important later on. Coming?
He stood at the edge of the ship, a ramp was leading downwards to the port, I quickly made my way towards him before we had gotten off the ship, the few marines which had accompanied took the time to stock up on a few things.
Why a village? I asked Aokiji, he looked down at me in response.
Oh, sorry, I didnt explain. Well, he is called the most benevolent of the three admirals for a reason. The village is quite remote from the marines, it also is quite a neutral and calm place. Its a big island as well, and to prevent any civilians from being harmed in your training, there are also the Conomi Islands if you wish to do anything particularly dangerous. Its the best place to be next to an inhabited island and train.
I really gave him less credit than he deserves, this is an admiral after all, even if he is lazy he is still one of the top marines there is. If I fought him normally Im quite certain I would lose before I had the chance to break a sweat...
Although, the important factor here is that this village contains part of the back-story for Nami at this point, considering that Im 10 years in the past from the original story, then that means two years the mother of Nami will be killed by Arlong. Huh, so when Im nine, I wonder if thats a recurring number.
Wait a second! I was caught off-guard by the loud voice of a woman, Aokiji however just stood there and waited, it wasnt long before... oh my... so I already get to meet her? Belle-mere, or should I just call her Beautiful Mother? She had ran down the village, wearing an apron might I add and holding a... wooden spoon? She was in the middle of cooking! She suddenly stopped when she was in front of Aokiji. Admiral, why are you here? What is the meaning to suddenly coming here?
It is for the purpose of training the Ensign who is under me, Sengoku ordered for me to train her aside from other instructors and I figured this is the best place for me to train her. Aokiji calmly explained, however his words oddly seemed to hype her up.
Oh, its a new girl? Where is she? She looked behind him and around, however she specifically avoided looking at me for some reason.
Shes right here. Aokiji put his hand on my head to signify my position, Belle-Mere just looked down at repeatedly switched between looking at me and Aokiji.
How old is she? Well, she is the only motherly figure that I am aware of in the entire story and Im quite sure shes good at it in some way.
Seven. Aokiji responded, Belle-Mere was genuinely shocked, I think I spent too much time around Aokiji at this point to think that shes weird.
S-Seven...? She looked as if she was in a daze, eventually snapping out of it in a few seconds and pointing directly at Aokiji. What are you doing to this girl? Shes only a child and youre already training her as an Ensign! Theres only so much a child can handle, Admiral!
I was expecting him to argue back again, but he just stood there silently, anyone would think at this moment that he was purposely ignoring her. Or was he...? He looks down at me again, he didnt speak at all and then just looked back at Belle-Mere.
Is something wrong with him? I guess I should speak up for him if hes not willing to.
I apologise for his silence, but the reason Im in the marines is not imposed, instead I willingly chose to join. It may not appear so, similar to how it appears that this guy could not possibly be high-ranking from how lackadaisical he is, but I have some tricks up my sleeve! I do feel like I just completely insulted both me and Aokiji in the process of trying to explain the situation.
Shes really humble, I didnt expect that... Belle-Mere had a subtle expression of surprise on her face as she spoke, she even giggled. How is it that hard to believe Im polite?
What if I added that shes Garps grand-daughter? Aokiji informed her, Belle-Mere made passage for us to walk ahead, she walked with us as we made our way down the village.

A few minutes later
We were on quite a big island, thanks to Aokijis ice ability we came here without the need of a ship and simply walked over to it. As far as I could see there was no one here and we were on a beach, it didnt take long before Aokiji made a gesture for me to stand where I am and he moved further away, after ten or so metres he stopped and turned around to face me.
First, Ill test your battle ability. By that I assume he means well have a battle and the chances are Ill lose. Begin.
I certainly was unprepared for the sudden fight, but nonetheless I decided to charge ahead, once I was around a metre away from him I transformed my hand into lightning and began to run even faster, however upon trying to connect the lightning with him, he just vanished, I was certain of one thing at this point...
Hes going completely easy on me. Hes not using devil fruit, nor is he using Haki or even attacking! I guess I really am weak...
Although, I wasnt going to just stop there, even though I fell over in a humiliating fashion I did get up and see that he was standing right behind me, I jumped up to punch him again to try and see how he moves, surprisingly he just took a step in the opposite direction. Since punching isnt working, the next step is obviously kicking!
Upon landing with my face buried within the sand, I pushed myself up and charged at him again, however I jumped before I got too close to him and transformed my foot into lightning, he simply moved again and managed to dodge me! I ended up with my foot buried in the sand and I had to pull it out.
Youre not accustomed to using your devil fruit whatsoever, you have only demonstrated that you can transform into lightning partially, you havent made an effort to create or manipulate it. You have no physical strength, the time it takes you to run up and jump is the time it could take for someone to attack you. Its clear you have some combat experience, you aimed for three vital spots; my kidneys, heart and head. If I wasnt a logia user that would be fatal on connection. You also appear to just give up when an attack doesnt work. Aokiji informed me, his demeanour didnt change whatsoever. You also didnt use Haki because you were worried you would be exhausted too quickly in the battle.
He took notice of all of my weaknesses in just three simple attempts to attack him? I know I just got the devil fruit, so its clear Im not used to using it. My physical strength was never that great... I had to use Busoshoku Haki entirely to defeat the bandits beforehand. My combat experience is limited as far as I can tell, I just used common sense.
This guy is kind of scary now that I think about it.

Then if thats the case the only thing you have going for you at this stage is your Haki, which you cannot use because your stamina when it comes to it is awful. It looks like I have my work cut out for me. Aokiji then made a gesture for me to stand up.
I didnt argue since I was honestly terrible without the use of Haki, I guess I shouldnt have designed a style which focuses solely on it in hindsight.
So, whats first? I inquired and stood up as he commanded, he looked as if he was lost in thought.
First, we have to physically condition your body, youll do some basic training such as lifting weights and doing laps. Am I really going into the marine version of a gym? If so, then Im expecting it to be more difficult than a normal one. Aokiji put his hand into the air and formed... a giant sphere of ice, it was about two metres tall and a metre wide. What bugged me was the fact that he made handles similar to someone carrying backpack. The sphere is hollow on the inside and right about now it weighs around 100 kilos, for starters, lift it. Isnt that bigger than an average person by a quarter? He wants me to lift that? Is he insane?
I walked up to it nevertheless and put my arms through the handles, I could feel the ice coldness on my back and on my arms. Even so, I attempted to lift it and... absolutely nothing happened., I persisted and nothing happened whatsoever.
Is he trying to mock me or something? Im pretty sure if theres anyone below the age of 10 who can lift that amount with no physical capabilities, theyre cheating.
I think its too big. He stated.
You think so? I stopped attempting to lift or even pull it at that point, since I was exhausting myself completely. Give me something I can lift.
The ice sphere shattered from him hitting it, the pieces fell to the ground suddenly. He made a smaller sphere, one that was about the size of my foot.
Everyday Ill double the amount you have to lift so you dont soften up. Thats ten kilos. Well, I knew there would be a catch to this at some point, so that means in five days Ill have to lift the huge one again.
This is something new... I mumbled, picking up the small ice-sphere, I could lift it up without much hassle, but it did become tiring eventually, especially with the ice. Okay, Ill do it.

Chapter 11: Two years...
Two years later...
Two years, thats the same as the time-skip after the Marineford arc, Ive improved drastically for all I can say, I am no longer an amateur in using my devil fruits abilities and Ive even began developing a style in it which Ill use as my main method of attack. To cut corners I even used some of Enels tricks to make things easier, although I can say Im going to ditch his style completely. His focused more on the fact he was a God and Im sure Im anything but that at this point.
Aokijis training proved to be the most strenuous thing Ive ever done; carrying the ice sphere, attacking nearby pirate ships... all by myself, having to dodge his projectiles which could kill me! Thats the gist of it, but now that Ive spent two long and difficult years concentrating on becoming stronger... I need to turn back to my main goal:
Reforming the world.
In terms of the story, almost everything happens this year, Doflamingo becomes Shichibukai for example and the one event which Im not sure of... Arlongs invasion.
I could just fight him at this point, Im certain Im strong enough to take him on and win, even Aokiji is here and Arlong was defeated simply by another Admiral as well, so it would be more like pest control. Then again, isnt that how marines treat a majority of pirates?
Even if I want to do that, its impossible to intervene in any way with Cocoyashi Village and have the straw hats preserved. A lot of Namis character and reasons for joining the crew was rooted to Arlongs invasion of the village and her mothers death. Is this a necessary evil? Or am I just trivialising this to make it easier?
Unfortunately, it has to come to this, in fact I had avoided involving myself completely with them since I decided to stay in the forest which was on the island for the two years I spent here. That survival training Garp put me through was quite useful now that I think about it. Aokiji insisted that I stay in the village but after a few days of denying it her eventually let it go.
Youve made considerable improvements over the past two years. The scene was similar to our first battle, standing on the beach with ten metres between us. I admit that I battled him around ten times before now and I lost all times, however afterwards he would converse with me about specific things such as him being in the marines and the incident which occurred twelve years ago, I suppose I had gotten to know him better. Kaminari no nagare: Hibana(Flow of thunder: Spark)! Somewhat bullet-shaped lightning was sent flying towards Aokiji. Despite the unexpectedness, Aokiji still managed to dodge it, and ended up a few feet in front of his original position, behind him small amounts of sand exploded upwards a few inches. He looked behind and returned to me with his usual expression. I repeated my attempt to shoot him and eventually got him to begin running, towards me might I add.
He arrived within a few seconds and raised his leg, instantly bringing it down onto me. In response I split my body into two so that it would miss, transforming my entire body into lightning and sending it up above to the height of Aokijis face, only to re-form again.
Kaminari no nagare: Rakurai(Flow of thunder: Lighting strike)! I transformed my arm into lightning, it appeared to be jagged sparks and sent it towards Aokijis face. Contrary to my thoughts, the attack actually hit! It left a slight bruise on his face and he slid back a bit as well, he didnt appear to be that affected by it.
Youre definitely much faster than me and that technique certainly had some punch to it, youve made considerable improvements. Aokiji commented, he however was not admitting defeat but was actually claiming that he was going to up his game. Ice block: Partisan!
Hovering around him was four spears made out of ice, he didnt give much time before he sent them hurling at me. One was sent directly at me, to which I jumped out of the way to avoid, another was yet again sent at me of which I transformed into lightning and went upwards to avoid, at that point I wasnt going to start chasing him.
Kaminari no nagare: Varja! He looked directly above him where a plethora of sparks were hovering, I was not able to see if he dodged, but the sparks shot down and created an electric blue beam which was blinding! Its similar to Enels El Thor move, which it is, the move was powerful and could cause serious amounts of damage, which is why I stole it! Although, I have no idea if it affected Aokiji.
I think youve proved youve already reached a high level of strength. Although, what are you planning to do about the forest fire? I floated down from the air and stared at Aokiji in confusion. There was no fire, I could see no fire, there was only a big crater Aokiji was standing, he dodged. It took me a while to become aware that right next to that crater was a fire.

THEN DONT STAND THERE! PUT IT OUT! While in the end the forest did become quite frozen, I do think the prevention of the fire is more important than that.
With that done, its time we moved onto the next part of your training. This one has more to do with your own self. I didnt particularly know that there was a test of self in the marines and considering the marines at G-5 Im pretty sure that its not even that important. Is this something Aokiji is personally doing?
What am I doing exactly? I questioned him, he looked off into the distance with the same expression as always.
I figured that its best to do this part on actual mission, so were joining a world noble in their expedition to Fishman Island, the reasons are unknown but its assumed for personal reasons. Aokiji explained, he made a gesture for me to follow him off the island.
If I am correct, then this is the situation I think it is, something which I can change! This is when the Celestial Dragon who went to reclaim his slaves got ship-wrecked in Fish-man island! Its not directly related to anyone in the crew joining and can change a lot of things! I finally have something I can change!
Oh, is that where the fish-men live? Can I meet them? Oh wait, can I meet the sun-pirate leader, Jinbei? I can say I got excited, its not everyday you see a man and fish hybrid and a character like Jinbei! I think the fan inside of me slightly squealed. This makes the two years of training seem like it had no effect on me at all...
Oh, I suppose you can. We should leave immediately, were heading to Mariejois to board upon the ship and head down to the island, its unfortunate you couldnt get to meet some of villagers, especially Belle-Meres daughters. Aokiji led me onto frozen body of water, he was genuinely a good guy at heart, even if hes far too lazy to show it. Then again I didnt want to say it would mess up the future.
Im content with meeting fish-men, so its no worry. I reassured him, he looked down at me again.
You really are a child. Aokiji commented.
Wait, what is with that? Anyone can be excited for meeting fish-men, whats so childish about it? I argued back at him.

I am sure that everyone Ive met who has been a high-ranking marine officer has called me something... I grumbled.
It cant be that bad. He seemed doubtful of me, which is possibly because he thinks Im a child.
Kizaru called me polite, which isnt bad. Gramps calls me a brat. Belle-Mere called me humble and didnt expect it whatsoever! Then theres you, calling me a child. Im sure theres no fault in any of those things, since a majority of them are true.
How did you know Belle-Mere was a marine officer? He inquired. I would probably give up at this point if I didnt remember the conversation we had two years ago, since it was the only conversation between me and her.
She seemed interested in the fact there was a girl in the marines and from how she talked to you I just assumed that she had to be a senior officer, Im not wrong, am I? He shook his head in response. I guess the amount of information I reveal should be limited, since I do know the future very well...
Hmm... dont try to attack the Celestial Dragon. Aokiji commanded of me, his words shocked me; Im not that violent of a person!
I cant guarantee that, Admiral. I chuckled, while I did play it off lightly, from reading the manga and watching the anime numerous times, Im pretty sure Im serious when I say: I cant guarantee that.

Six times. I rewrote this chapter six times. Its short and a bit odd at that, but I had written five other ways it couldve turned out, all the other ones were just pretty terrible.
And Im dying from the heat. Thats the problem with England, whenever its hot its too hot, whenever its cold its too cold. :3
I did spend the time in-between rewriting it developing Maris style for her devil fruit. Theres also a few other things I did in-between them:
-Researching if there was a way to prevent Belle-Mere from dying, since trying to stop Arlong was silly in terms of making Nami join the straw hats. All of which didnt work in the end...
-Turns out a lot of things happen when Maris is NINE! The fish-man island part is just the one thing I found which isnt going to destroy the straw-hats. :P
-Researched the void century a lot more than I cared about it originally. XD

Maris personality is protective, she is the type of person who would jumped in front of a bullet, even if it went right through her. In fact, she wont ever speak for a person honestly, if she does she will do it sarcastically, since she believes its their responsibility to make their own words and choices.
She despises things such as school and classical training, since to her they encourage the wrong things in people. If she has to train she will most likely take it into her own hands or do it in her own time.
To conclude, for now, Maris believes that theres too much of an absence of trust and because of that the world is in disarray. It is her goal to fix her.

Busohoku: Steel God- This skill is similar to the concept of Gear Third, in that it uses the skeletal system to become stronger, however that is the only similarity. The technique uses her own Busoshoku Haki to surround her own skeleton with it and her own skin which greatly improves not only her physical capabilities, but her ability to take physical hits. Without hardening the Haki it can do significant damage and even kill pirates if they arent that resilient enough. The only moment it is seen with hardening is when she obtained the Goro-Goro no Mi.

Although the ability isnt in any way related, the increase in strength which is difficult yet immeasurably strong at this point is basically a reference to how Escanor would grow stronger as the sun would rise yet his personality would be difficult.

Chapter 12: Why join the marines?
Aokiji, can we get something to eat? I asked him, we had begun sailing about two weeks ago, he was sitting down on a chair and reading the newspaper, he didnt advert his gaze and kept reading.
Yeah, sure, I heard theres a restaurant nearby. It recently opened, we can go there. He suggested, however he slightly squinted his eyes upon reading something. It appears theres some fish-man group around here, we might run into them eventually.
How fitting, it happens when were heading for Fish-man island. Do you think all the bad guys heard and just ran? I jokingly spoke, he raised his eyebrow and handed me what was a wanted poster with a bounty of 20,000,000 beli. The one known as Arlong.
Kizaru captured him beforehand and he was released upon the Fish-man known as Jinbei accepting to become a Shichibukai and hes already causing trouble. Aokiji commented, he had a clear distaste in the idea of Shichibukai, that was made clear in the actual story when he spared the straw-hats for defeating crocodile.
Its possible we may have already missed him. Although we can deal with him if we run into him. I responded, throwing the bounty poster away. It floated off the ship before I knew it. So, wheres the restaurant?
Its right there. Aokiji pointed from behind the newspaper, I turned with excitement, although it died down really quickly when I saw what the restaurant was. It was a floating ship, a restaurant which was floating in the east blue. Its the damn Baratie, why didnt I realise this?
Is the food good? Well, I did have my doubts, but there couldnt be anything that bad about visiting the restaurant. Its not like Ill mess anything up by just eating there.
Ive heard some good reviews. He placed down his newspaper, standing up as we approached closer to it. Our ship comes off as slightly intimidating.
He did have a point, Im pretty sure anyone would get scared when a military ship just begins to approach them. Does that mean well get off and walk there by him freezing the water, but wouldnt that just be even more intimidating?
Five Minutes Later
Turns out that we just normally docked ourselves, so I over-reacted for no reason. Upon entering the restaurant itself, everyone was uncomfortable with our presence instantly! I have never seen people look away so fast! Its Aokiji, isnt it? You cant just ask people to ignore an Admiral who could very well be the difference between life and death.
Despite the uneasy atmosphere, we took a seat in the restaurant and skimmed through the menus, Aokiji began to start some small talk.
Maris, what did you hope for when you joined the marines? He queried. I was caught off guard, considering how particular the situation is I didnt expect such a serious question.
Huh, the whole reason I joined was to reform the world. I wanted to make a world where freedom was everyones security. I was in the middle of deciding what to eat as well and had my thoughts muddled from his question. A waiter had come up to us, in fact he looked pretty close to my age and stood at our table. His hair reminds me of someone... wait, isnt he...
There are limits to such things, Maris. Aokiji spoke, he looked towards the waiter who was standing at our table with his usual expression. Waiter, what are your hopes and dreams?
I... I want to find the All Blue! Despite his hesitation, he answered towards Aokiji. It was confirmed when he said those words, the kid who was standing before me was Sanji. Considering hes two years older than Luffy, hes 11 years old at this point.
It appears that this great age of pirates still exists in some peoples heads, how disappointing. Aokiji commented, looking down at the menu again.
Is it me, or is he really being a git? He just scolded the two of us for our dreams being too big! What kind of trainer is he? Then again, I shouldnt have expected much to begin with, but still... theres a line for me.
Aokiji! I tried grabbing his attention, but he continued to ignore me, like the majority of our conversations. Although, in this conversation, Im not going to just submit to his silence so easily! I grabbed his menu and pulled it away and even got up and stood on my chair and place my foot on the table. Isnt this what you call making a scene? Everyone dreams! Theres as much dreams as there are stars in the skies and all of them can come true, dont look down on them! The future is shaped by those who believe in the beauty of their dreams and those will never die!

Aokiji looked at me with an impressed expression, which was incredibly rare! I looked towards Sanji who stood there, I think hes in awe or shock, or confusion, one of those...
Well take our food to go. I told him. I might have messed up... I have to minimise my interaction with all the straw hats and after saying that I just gave a loud SPEECH in the middle of a restaurant!
We havent ordered yet. Aokiji pointed out. Ill take the soup.
Ill take the fish... I mumbled, refusing to look anyone in the eyes. Forget the fact that I may have intervened with the straw hats, I didnt expect myself to ramble about dreams!
A few minutes later
Finally, back on the ship! I guess Ill find out eventually how bad I messed up in a few years... I didnt expect such events to happen. I suppose I couldnt help opening my mouth, but Aokiji looks like he has a lot of self-control, couldnt he have asked that question on the ship?
Youre a very compassionate person. Aokiji remarked. I apologise, but I somewhat unorthodoxly tried to test you. You scored as a very generous person.
Wait... you tested me? So that entire scene there was a test? I suppose the scene was my response, but it sounds better if I say it was a test. Although, I should have expected this, considering that Aokiji is quite polite to just randomly start attacking people. Whats the point of testing me for?
I had to see your character. Youre compassionate and refuse to let people be bullied, youre quite like a big sister. Whats more interesting is that you were prepared to believe in a strangers dream who youve never met before. I suppose the better term is never met in person.

Yup, she interacted with Sanji a hell of a lot! It was actually the interaction which I found the most safe, considering that Sanji would still stay in Baratie since he believes he owes Zeff and Luffy would still be the one who would convince him to come with him.
Anyway, Ill eventually try to do some side stories to consider some possible changes that Maris has caused to Luffy and the crew... which will not be from her perspective! :P
Chapter 13: Heading off to Fish-man Island!
Well, according to the map which Aokiji so kindly allowed me to look at, we had already passed Mariejois, we just took a detour because I was hungry. Now that weve headed back on track, I can finally see fish-man for my own eyes!
Although, in the midst of my excitement I caught something on the desk within the cabin. I guess its no surprise he has a bunch of papers about the Ohara incident, he was the one who let Nico Robin escape and in a few years hell find her with the straw hats. Then again, I only know what the anime and manga have told me, it would be interesting to get his own perspective, so I headed out of the cabin and yet again was he sitting on a chair and reading the news!
Hey, lazy-butt, tell me about this. I demanded, he diverted his gaze towards me and put his paper down.
Oh, you found the documents on the Ohara incident, I should have put them away. He stood up and made his way towards me, since he shows very little emotion Im unsure if hes worried I found it. You read it, so you should know all about it.
Who''s the demon child? I questioned. Since Aokiji let her escape he should know who she is.
Its a girl who escaped the incident and is wanted because of her desire to bring destruction upon the world. He explained, taking the documents from me, he wasnt very open about it, but then again no one would be very open to talking about treachery.
No details...? He went back into the cabin and placed the documents on his desk.
Theres nothing more you need to know. He came back out and looked off into the distance, patting me on the back afterwards. Were here, so prepare to board the ship.
Im pretty sure its prepare to dock, then leave the ship, then restock, then board the other ship. I explained to him, he shook his head.
No, the world noble wants to leave instantly, so we board their ship and we head down to fish-man island. Aokiji clarifies. I know theyre some pompous twats, but I was thinking it was just exaggerated. I didnt think such arrogant people existed.
That really sucks, I kind of wanted to see what it would look like... I grumbled, Aokiji then tapped me on the shoulder and in his hands he held a golden staff.
The so-called weapon you asked for, here it is. He handed it to me, I was elated from his words! I had decided on the weapons I was to use, its a staff made of gold! I know, its identical to Enels, but in consideration I dont think there was any better metal for me to use. Gold is the third most conductive element and with the added corrosion resistance, I think its pretty good as well! I did slightly confuse Aokiji when I asked for a golden staff, but he still got it nevertheless.
I took it with haste, staring at it like a child in a toy store. I admit that at this point I dont think Ill be able to use it to its full power, since Im fairly average in using my devil fruit, but its useful still!
I thought you were against me hitting the Celestial Dragon. I jokingly say.

It was coated, a preparation for those who intended to head underwater, although that was the most obvious give-away, there was also the world-government flag. Aokiji led me onto the ship, or dragged more likely, and there I finally met a world noble! Oh, excuse me, I mean unbearable prick.
Oh, Admiral, youve finally arrived, Ive been waiting for so long... and who is this? Mjosgard, the world noble who would shipwreck in fish-man island. Although things start out rough, he eventually ends up getting a document which was nicknamed the hope of fish-man island.
This is my apprentice, she will also be apart of the expedition. Aokiji explained, although the prick only had a look of disdain. I am helping him and hes only irritated by it? No gratefulness? What a dick.
Lets hope she wont be much of a problem. He remarked, only to walk away.
What an unbearable assh- Aokiji put his hand over my mouth before I could finish what I was saying, he shook his head.

After all, Ive done something similar havent I? I allowed Belle-Mere to die and for Nami to become a slave to Arlong essentially. I suppose I somewhat make a good marine in that case... something wrong? Youve become silent for once.
Im trying to resist hitting the guy. Aokiji raised his hand to signal the crew on-board the ship to set sail, he made his way to the front of the ship and I followed after him.
Something tells me that it will be a lot harder when we reach fish-man island. Well, hes not wrong. I know that hes going to treat all the fish-men like rubbish, although now that Aokiji is here, the situation may play out a little different.
What about the Shichibukai, have any thoughts on him? Im quite uncertain about where Aokiji stands in terms of the Shichibukai, he was happy for Crocodiles defeat thats for sure. However, he stayed silent when I asked him... for the fiftieth time. Come on, do you hate him that much that you cant express it in a way without being angry?
For your training, you improved a lot, but you appear to have only developed three ways to use your devil fruit. Aokiji blatantly changes the topic, I suppose the Shichibukai arent something hes fond of, or hes still treating me like a child...
I created a bunch more, but I didnt use them. Theres one which can change climates on a severe level, another which is immeasurably powerful! Although the latter I cant use yet... requires a hell of a lot more to do. I complied with the topic change and even explained some new techniques I had to Aokiji, although I didnt mention one. I decided that I had to implement something similar to a gear, otherwise Id be too weak as I am now. Its sort of like Gear Second, although it doesnt really involve my blood-vessels in any way...
I see... Aokiji didnt really appear interested, I guess the topic was just his scapegoat, or I still havent mastered guessing his expressions.
This... is going to be a long trip. I groaned.
Chapter 14: The Ship is... Wrecked.
Its been a few weeks, but were finally underwater! It took God damn forever to tolerate that annoying guy! If Aokiji wasnt here I think I might have killed him within the second day. He wont stop being arrogant, everyday its having to obey his damn orders of stepping away from him and listening to him talk down to everyone! I officially hate him!
My, my, youve become awfully quiet for the past few weeks. Aokiji commented, I was once again stood aside him although this time we were at the quarter deck, behind the wheel.
Youve become even more lazy, I didnt think that was possible. You find even the most mundane tasks tiring. Are you really an Admiral? I complained. I wasnt lying, since a majority of my training is done, Aokiji has slacked off entirely! He doesnt stand for long, hes often sleeping and he cant be asked to do anything!

Ive heard some chatter, apparently theyre going to reclaim their property, we should prevent it. Everyone else was clearly ignoring what was pirates planning to attack us! I mean, even if its justifiable for our deaths, I dont think I want to die.
Aokiji, are you just going to stand there? Pirates are going to attack us! I looked around from the edges of ship, yet there was a lack of any sort of pirate ship. They might be using some form of camouflage.

I didnt! Didnt you hear the pirates announce their plan to prevent us from reaching the island? I pointed out their blatant announcement, however he only looked at me in confusion.

I heard it! I heard people announce they were going to attack us! I was whining at this point so that he would at least understand me.
Arent you being paranoid? He lazily dismissed it. I dont think my mental health has reached such a level to say that Im hearing voices...

Before it could become a full-fledged argument, the ship begun to violently shake. It seems all our conversations are interrupted by something. After the rumbling ceased, the ship appeared to be violently thrown, unfortunately for me that was the point where I was knocked out.
A few minutes later
I dont know how much time passed exactly, but its irrelevant to me as far as I am concerned. Seeing that Im in the hold, I guess I fell through the floor, then again I guess the more obvious fact is that the entire ship is frozen. So, Aokiji clearly tried to do something to the ship, now that I think about it; where is he?
I sat up, and it was quite clear that even if he did intend to freeze it to keep the ship intact, he was slightly late. Its in pieces. Oh, he also found me as well which explains why my staff is next me, or some lucky coincidence happened.
Upon standing up it became clear that we were on land, since I wasnt dying from drowning, that was obvious when I was awake... but with the jokes aside I picked up my staff and looked around for any sort of exit. In the end I decided that it was better to make my own.
I went to where the front of the ship should be located, or the back, I cant tell the difference from the hold. I ran to build up momentum and as I approached the narrowing end I jumped, although I did raise my arms to protect my face and my legs, because doing the cannonball seemed really fun.
I broke through the ice! Not to mention I landed on something which broke my fall, I guess my luck is picking up now!
Youre awake. I looked to my left and saw Aokiji standing there, he had a slightly distressed expression which is unnatural to say the least.
Whats wrong? I questioned him, he pointed below me, to which a most likely dead... or unconscious Celestial Dragon was laid down.
Can you get off him? I moved off him, while emphasising the moments I stepped on him for the sheer pleasure of it. Only then did I look around at the crowd of fish-men who were staring at me and Aokiji. They were most likely scared of Aokiji and confused about me...
What happened? Did you threaten them or something? I queried, only to look at his expression which returned to normal. Okay, thats clearly not it...
I was further below the ship, I looked for any other surviving members and found none, only when I searched the whole ship did I exit through the front, you can see the hole I made. He pointed at the ship and further below the hole I made was a bigger hole which looked to be caused by him punching it. I saw the crowd there fire upon the Celestial Dragon, I saw the queen, from what I heard, jump in front of him and protect the Celestial Dragon. She then proceeded to give a speech and I jumped down to investigate a bit more and check the health of the Celestial Dragon... then you jumped onto him.
Wow, so much happened while I was asleep, I suppose Aokiji didnt act lazy because the Celestial Dragon was present...
Excuse me! We both turned our attention towards who is quite clearly Otohime from Fish-man Island, however I wasnt expecting to meet her with a bloody arm. May I ask who the two of you are?

Aokiji complied with my command to him, applying pressure to where the queen had been shot, I used the part of the cape and tied a half knot two inches above it. However, there was an issue...

Since its average length that makes it about five feet tall, however its probably a bit below, so considering how big a foot is, Ill say its around 4 foot 6 or 7. So... I need to cut off 4 feet and and two inches, although three inches will be safer.
Using Busoshoku Haki for the first time in forever I cut off the amount so that I was left an estimate for about four inches, it looked pretty good. I put it next to the half knot and tied a full knot around it.
Tell me when the bleeding slows down as much as it can. I told Aokiji, turning the part of my staff. After around three turns he looked towards me and nodded. Alright, you can stop.
Aokiji moved his hand away, his usual expression was mixed with some confusion.

He enslaved people, he tortured people, he treated people worse than dirt! If youre asking me to enforce justice then Ill enforce it; Ill capture pirates and save people who are suffering. Just because its not illegal for the Celestial Dragons it makes it okay? Isnt that just hypocrisy?
Aokiji remained silent, but believe me, it was not because he had no argument he could think of, its because he agreed with me. I know him well enough at this point to know that he is quite the moral person, even if he does the work of the marines which arent that just. Aokiji even said once: the thing called justice changes its shape depending on where you stand.
Aokiji wont argue back because he thinks the same thing.
Excuse me, but we should head to an official medical building to treat both of your wounds. Aokiji speaks, his demeanour returned to normal.

I heard a soft yet irritated voice, I had opened my eyes and beside me was a woman with ginger hair, she wore a lab coat, or perhaps in this case its a doctors overcoat. We have the symptoms and are currently running a biopsy and then an MRI. So, how was your nap?
I had a file filled with documents thrown at me, when I sat up I noticed that I wasnt in anywhere I had recollection of. I myself was wearing a doctors overcoat and some casual clothes underneath. Without any response to the girl I gingerly looked at the file.

Chapter 16: Change

While walking down the hall I stood aside the... well he was exceptionaly wide, there''s that going for him. Anyway, I suppose meeting Jinbe was inevitable, I did speak to the entirety of fish-man island without any restraint.
"You seem very polite, I do not know why, but I didn''t expect that from you." He chuckled, I believe I''ve gotten a bit too used to hearing those words. "There was a slight concern that I had, after all you''re just a child who has recently joined the marines. You appeared to have quite the perspective on how the celestial dragons treated people, it brings to question how exactly you obtained that perspective."
Oh, I see now, because I widely expressed how much distaste I had in the Celestial Dragons and also described the experience of slavery... I drew his attention.

Okay, this sea warrior is putting up a good argument, he''s actually making me rethink a lot of what I''m doing. I came down to fish-man island... not because I wanted to change anything but because Aokiji was testing me again. I have not done anything because I wanted to change it, a lot of the things I''ve done is because of smaller goals. In fact, I introduced myself to Luffy, became his mentor, got the goro-goro no mi to escape from his body and then faked my death and reset everything I''ve done for him. I did all of that... for the sake of the story, even when I wanted to change things.
"Hey, Mister Warrior." I sighed, folding my arms. "You''re a bit direct, but you''re really doing me a favour by pointing that out. I am going to change things up a bit and ditch that future and try to start something a bit new."
"Oh, going to start enforcing your beliefs now?" Jinbe chuckled.
"The justice thing? Nope, I don''t think I''m the type of person for that job, although I''m not really sure what type of person I am." I smirked at him and we both halted in walking. "I think my first goal is to figure that out and mix things up a bit."
"It''s been an interesting conversation, Miss Maris." Jinbe chuckled, I nodded in response to him and turned back to the direction we had come from.
"Aokiji! There''s something I need to ask you!" I shouted, running back in the direction.
Chapter 17: A... not so shocking revelation.
It is surprisingly difficult to find Aokiji despite how little he moves about, he does spend a lot of his time laying down instead of standing up to be frank. The hallways themselves are quite easy to navigate, however that might just be for me and the reason I cant find him may be because he has a terrible sense of direction.
It was just one patient, there was nothing you could do.
As I was jogging down the halls I did began feeling a familiar migraine, possibly the cause of why I fainted earlier. Although, with its presence I couldnt align my thoughts and couldnt even think about what it all meant! Only when the migraine vanished was I able to gather my mind... with a catch.
No, I didnt discover anything, in fact I cant even remember what the hell was crossing my head during that little headache. I did experience something familiar while I was sleeping as well, didnt I? Perhaps it was a memory.
If it is a memory then I suppose my priorities are changed now, Aokiji can find me instead. To test if it is a memory I need to boost my memory to try and remember it, if I do that then Ill have three possible conclusions.
1. I remember it and it is a memory. It could possibly mean that my advanced memories like actual conversations and words arent going to get into my head as easily.
2. It doesnt work and it was just delirium.
3. It doesnt work, but it still is a memory. There would have to be another way to uncover it.
Now I suppose its time for me to find the method to boost my memory, but Ive already got that covered; go to the hospital and pick up some Physostigmine, a drug which can boost long-term memory!
With that decision in mind I had chosen to make my way back to the hospital where I was supposedly kept for about a day, it didnt take long by using my devil fruit and upon reaching it I was met with the familiar face of Aladdin.
Oh, its the little girl! Nerissa was it? Aladdin was tending to the wounds of the Celestial Dragon from the looks of it, there was some relief with my appearance I guess. Although Im not excited that he butchered my name so severely.
Maris, my name is Maris. Oh, and there was something I wanted to talk to you about regarding my medical condition... I managed to get to this point, but I never put any thought into how I would get him to give me some Physostigmine. Well, clearly I have to fake a medical condition which can be treated with it... and there is one which fits perfectly. After considerable thought and testing of which I have done, I must say that I believe I possess the condition of Anticholinergic poisoning.
Well, there wasnt any other condition I could think of at the time which fit in... and well I have some symptoms for it.
Oh... Aladdin stood in a daze, I am sure he had no idea where to believe me or not. How exactly did you conduct the tests and come to the conclusion that you have such a condition?
Well, he has a fair point, I am a small child who somehow conducted all the tests to conclude that I have Anticholinergic poisoning within an hour. I wouldnt believe that at all.
It was more a deduction, from what Ive been told; Ive had a loss of consciousness, memory problems and the... delirium. I came to the conclusion I possess Anticholinergic poisoning. I explained, Aladdin nodded but he wasnt exactly rushing to get me some help. I suppose I should add to the mixture some more, this time I should probably include the cause. I also ingested some... Okay, Im lying, you got me. Now I would like some Physostigmine please, and before you try and assume Im going to use it for something bad I would like you to consider a point. I raised my hands up to try and see if he would give me a chance, he stayed silent so I assume so. Considering youre a doctor and youve had a long career, its normal to not trust someone asking for something which could kill them. However, ask yourself this: have I seen a child who has walked up to me with enough medical knowledge to lie to me about being ill?
Aladdin folded his arms and merely smirked, he turned around and jogged towards the direction of some medicinal equipment, it took him only a few minutes to come back with an injection with a small amount of liquid inside of it.
And such child subsequently failed to lie. This is enough to not kill you. Aladdin chuckled, he held the injection in his hand, he clearly didnt trust me to inject myself. You couldve chosen something like Glaucoma, more believable than Anticholinergic poisoning.
I proceeded to expose my arm and he crouched down and placed the needle over one of my veins.
That doesnt have to be solved my intravenous Physostigmine, many other medicines are available. Also, much harder to fake in the little time had conjured up faking an illness. The needle dug through my skin and enter into my vein, Aladdin injected the drug in and removed the needle, standing back up.
There were a few seconds where I saw flashes, but other than that; it worked!

Really? It was my fault that I kept on guessing when it was wrong! I made them suffer because I thought I could help them! We were both in the room which I could now remember from before, she seemed to be shouting rather loud.
You know that now, dont make the mistake a second time. If you do, then get over it. I retorted, she still seemed in disarray.
I thought it was Beh?et''s in the end. I had the other option, but I didnt want to think it was that. She murmured to herself.

Well, I suppose that he would think so, he doesnt have a reason to suspect that me hitting my head while the ship crashed caused me to regain memories from my other life. I guess hitting my head a lot is going to kill me before I ever get my memory of my past life back, so I guess for now Ill have to put it on hold. For now Im still in the One Piece world and I have to find my lazy supervisor. Actually... his laziness reminds me of myself now that I remember it.

Chapter 18: Back From The Dead Red
My, my... talk about a rude awakening. Aokiji scratched his had while glancing down at me, he wasnt exactly thrilled to be woken up my electrical shocks. We were both stood outside on a balcony, looking down on where the fish-man plaza was. It would be more fortunate to leave this place, but we still have an arrogant noble to carry with us. What was it that you needed?
Isnt it kind of your job to be awake? I had to point it out to him, which isnt something an Ensign should be saying about their admiral. Anyway, I was thinking that maybe it was time after this that I get on with things by myself. As you can see; Ive spent two years training and I think Im more than experienced enough to do it!
Really? Aokijis expression looked quite patronising, I didnt know that it took two years to decipher those puzzling expressions he had. Youve been on one mission in total, even if it was a big one like this one, you cant just become a higher rank from it. Besides, if youre on your own I fear for peoples safety.
Im being a good marine, theres nothing bad about it! Before it became another discussion of expectations, I brought up my next agenda! Never-mind, what I wanted to propose for such a thing was that I would get a crew of some sort, you know, to have some responsibility.
Aokiji sighed at my words, he totally didnt believe any of it. What makes you think that adults will want to have a captain who is a child? You also arent that reliable when it comes to responsibility.

However, we were met with an... odd sight to be honest. It wasnt any sort of fish-man or anything, but instead it was a red-head human girl from what I can see. She doesnt look to be older than me...
Who are you? Aokiji questioned, the girl was stood in a yellow t-shirt and on it was a picture of an anchor, she also wore some blue shorts. Her style reminds me a lot of Luffys. However, she didnt have any distinct fish-man qualities and her skin was quite pale, it looked as if she was a human! She didnt appear to respond to Aokiji and just gazed at him... with red eyes. Is that a trait of fish-men? I see... from your familiar appearance, you must be the famed Chiaka, are you not?
She didnt respond to Aokiji in any way, she didnt even more an inch, her muscles looked completely relaxed as well. I think the better question is not the race, but: is that even a child?

However, Im not really interested in fighting her if that is the case, if the world noble dies then Im sure a lot of people will be happy. Then again, Im sure Ill get a lot of shit from it as well. This girl isnt going to spare us any harm either, is she? So, I guess my only option here is... fighting. Well, step aside Aokiji, Im sure I can take on a child.
I ignored any remark Aokiji tried to make and stood in front of him, the girl was still quite relaxed despite being in the presence of an admiral. Seriously, shes kind of giving me the creeps now. Hibana! Setting my hand into the form of a finger gun, I fired lightning towards the girl, however what was frightening was that... she dodged them. She walked forward and cocked her heads to the left and right, treating it like a fly. Does she... possess Haki? Well, theres a simple way to test.
I ran up towards her, to make sure she couldnt predict anything without Haki I waited until I was right up until her face to attack her! She stood relaxed, as if she knew what was coming next, is she some sort of all-seeing person? Rakurai!
Upon sending the lightning strike to her torso, her eyes dilated, making it clear that she didnt expect it at all. She was sent back quite a bit and even fell down on the floor! However, she stood up and there was quite a scar on her torso from the attack.
So, its not Haki clearly, then what is she using to determine my attacks?
She clenched her fist and made what looked to be a karate punch, oddly she did it a fair distance away from me. It hit me at that point what she was using, both in sense that I knew how she dodged my attacks and that her attack hit me.
I was sent back as well an even went down on the ground! It proved quite a painful experience to get up as well.
Shes using fish-man karate, a style which was introduced by Jinbe late on in One Piece, what she just did now was release a shock-wave via the water vapour in the air. It also explains how she dodged my attacks, although it amazes me that a child like her can even do it.
Shes sensing the lightning breaking down the water vapour and reacting accordingly, she could fight me with her eyes closed if Im honest. She couldnt react to my rakurai merely because my body didnt expose how I was going to attack and it was too fast when she realized the change in potential energy.
Again, I have to ask... is that a god-damn child?
It appears shes quite the formidable opponent, is she not? Aokiji commented, it appears that we both have quite the effect on one another.
I could beat her, but that is to say if Im fast enough. I murmured, it is clear now that my way to win is to focus on speed, my current forte. This girl has enough skill to beat me into oblivion, and frankly if she uses that again and beats me while Im down, Ive lost. If I can however be faster than her attacking me, I can win. This is essentially a double edged sword for the both of us.
So... whats your name, it cant be Chiaka, can it? That is probably some kind of code-name for you. I tried to begin conversation to distract her, it appears she had a similar idea as well.
Valdis. Whats yours? It cant be Ensign, can it? I suppose she got that from my cloak, and it seems we both understand the decisive factor here. Its fair game, if I use anything that isnt up-close shell dodge it and attack me, and its kinda the opposite for her.

So, who made the first move? Me, of course, who else? If she went first, Im doomed, I have to make it there as fast as I can!

However, it appears her idea wasnt long-range, she also went for a close encounter plan and from where Ive seen it before, it looks like shes using Samegawa Seiken... and Im screwed if that hits me. It wasnt as fortunate as I had hoped, because the transformation to my body made it so that we are at equal speeds and because of that and the distance we are from one another is parallel... were both in for a hit.
Ill spare you the gruesome details, but both of us suffered quite a blow, enough to send both of us to the ground crying in agony of how painful it was.
My god, how can that hurt so much? I exclaimed, holding my stomach in an attempt to contain the pain.

Wait! Despite the pain, I managed to stand up, Valdis knelt and looked at the both of us with fury. If she joins me as an Ensign and crew-mate, working for the Marines, can she be exonerated for all her crimes?
What? Both Aokiji and Valdis gave me confused glares, Aokiji then began thinking about it.
I suppose if she agreed to the deal and we sorted it out back at marineford, there wouldnt be any issues with it. Its similar to Shichibukai, and since she is thought dead it will be easier to deal with it. We both turned to her, she meagrely smiled at the both of us.
So, if I join you I dont get arrested and killed? She understood the terms of the deal, thats a good sign. Nope, go to hell.
Well... if you join me, then eventually we can become our own crew and work together without the supervision of prats like him and do whatever the hell we want. I reasoned with her, Aokiji raised his index finger to try and intervene.
Oh, if you put it like that, it doesnt sound that bad. Valdis began considering it, eventually smirking after a few seconds.

Chapter 19: A Week Later
It has been a week. Nothing more,nothing less. What was rather surprising was how calm the day was, there were a few clouds which passed every now and then but all in all it was a rather lax day. I could finally rest outside in the sunlight and read with nothing but peace!
"I''M NOT GOING TO WEAR THE STUPID UNIFORM!" Ah, truly a lax day, with nothing but just Valdis and Aokiji having a civil discussion like mature individuals. I suppose what is the curious matter is why I''m able to relax in the sun so tranquilly, not to mention out on the surface when I''m traveling with an conceited Celestial Dragon. Well, I suppose this story will be a good way to pass time, and besides Aokiji''s and Valdis'' arguments are becoming rather dull.
"I''m not asking you to wear the uniform, just follow the rules!" Aokiji called out, the sound of cargo being constantly knocked off balance was native to the ship thanks to them. Aokiji could simply just captured Valdis you''re probably thinking, and you''re right, he has. It''s just that Valdis still won''t sit still no matter what, and Aokiji doesn''t want to risk freezing the ship.
Anyways, what happened in Fish-man Island? Oh, well it''s not that exciting if I''m honest, but I''ll try to describe it as best as I can.
It was seven days ago as you would imagine, and the Celestial Dragon had been discharged from the hospital in the island. I wasn''t around to protecthim from threats since I was... protecting him. Sounds stupid. right? Well, Valdis was certainly tenacious, she didn''t stop at her attempts to try and attack him, I didn''t meander around with the responsibility this time and I honestly did prevent any harm befalling him! Valdis did prove to be no problem, which may sound a bit arrogant but she is still just a child who just happens to know Fish-man Karate and I''m an Admiral-trained Ensign, I didn''t act stupidly this time, I know it''s petty of me, but I''m blaming the last fight on the concussion!
After we had escorted the Celestial Dragon to the port... I suppose I wasn''t so surprised to find out that there were two ships instead of one. It turned out the Celestial Dragon had no issues with Valdis,and that was because he wasn''t conscious when she tried to kill him for the first time The issue was with me, the person who was actually trying to protect him this time. I suppose he didn''t like when I so politely stepped on him.
Aokiji had to lie and say that I was essential to nursing him to back to top condition, since anything else would most likely get me exiled from the marines.
Valdis had no qualms with having a separate ship and neither did I, since we weren''t exactly fans of the Celestial Dragon ourselves, Aokiji however didn''t trust the two of us on a ship alone and was concerned that we might steal the ship and sail off somewhere! What a paranoid admiral, right? I was planning on doing that, but the second Aokiji would notice he would freeze the ship and we''d be forced to board the stupid ship. Yet he still didn''t enjoy the idea that the two maverickswere alone on a ship with crew who would most likely listen.
Oh, I''m forgetting something important! Otohime joined us,true to the series, she joined the Celestial Dragon in heading up to the surface to obtain the Hope of Fishman Island, I tried to convince her to join our ship, which we refer to as the Cool Ship, but she insisted on joining the snobby brat. Now that I think about it; I did agree to being a civil rights activist for her but I did... nothing. I did have plans, and they were foiled because Valdis had plans of which I had to foil to ensure that the Celestial Dragon didn''t die. I wonder if this had any impact...
"Oi, Megumi, make sure she doesn''t run off!" Aokiji spoke, I looked towards Valdis who had broken down the door, she decided to hide behind me, I suppose this is where my peaceful day ends, isn''t it?
"I''ve got her. Who''s this Megumi?" I looked towards Aokiji, he had a rather confused expression and pointed in my direction. "...You do remember I''m called Maris, right?"
"It''s the nickname that the Marines have decided to call you. I figured since you call me by mine constantly I might as well call you by yours." Aokiji explained, Valdis rested her elbow on top of my shoulder and smirked at me.
"Megumi(Grace)? What''s so graceful about her?" Valdis may not notice it because she is only a child, but her words felt like she was insulting me.
"Oh, they just decided to call her Megumi Kokina(Grace be noble) because of how polite she appears to be." Aokiji waved at us after he finished his sentence, the silence both of us possessed made it clear that the conversation was over.
"Megumi Kokina?" Valdis began giggling childishly, I of course decided to act like the mature adult I am and accepted my title earnestly. "I''VE NEVER HEARD SUCH AN UNFIT NICKNAME!"
Yes, I must be a mature adult, which is why I didn''t argue with Valdis and just directly punished her with a punch in the head. Decisiveness is an important quality nowadays!
"I''m currently reading, can you not be so much of a nuisance?" I mumbled out, she did lay on the ground for a while, I had around five minutes of peace before she got up again and decided to pester me again.
"Whatcha'' reading?" She peered over my shoulder and looked at the book I currently held in my hands, I did allow her to read it; it might do her some good. "Haki? It sounds like some sort of weapon."

Actually... she makes a fair point, I sound like a cultist. Not only that, but I suppose I''ve realized that now I''m using Haki as sort of a go to for all my explanations, the Domain, the reason I was transported into Luffy''s body to begin with... Valdis is right when she says it''s not an almighty force. To be frank, I''m rather surprised that she was interested in a book to begin with.

"What are we needed for?" Aokiji pointed towards two seats in front of him, we sat down and he handed me a folder filled with various documents containing marine objectives.
"I talked to Sengoku about Valdis'' exoneration, it took him a while to decide, but he agreed under certain conditions." Aokiji explained, me and Valdis examined the documents we were shown, all of which contained rather abnormal missions.
"We have to complete all these missions?" They were rather difficult if I had to say so myself... there was only one which was rather neutral.
"No, only two, I''m sure you''ve noticed that they''re not missions we''d give to Ensigns at all. However, Sengoku had agreed to it only because he was confident you were strong enough and Chiaka was rather strong herself." Valdis picked out one particular document, it was surprisingly easy considering missions such as gathering intelligence about the affairs of Kurigana Island.
"Is this even a mission? Discuss treaty and position with Boa Hancock of Amazon Lily?" Valdis mumbled out, it was unspoken, but I''m sure that was going to be one of the two missions we''re going to do. "Who is that? And why is this mission here?"
"You don''t know Boa Hancock? Actually, I would be amazed if you did." I began explaining to Valdis. "She''s one of the Shichibukai of the Marines, she is referred to as the Pirate Empress and is considered to be the most attractive woman of the entire world. The mission is in the folder because Hancock is rather deviant, she refuses to listen to the Marines when they ask for her and she never attends the meetings, plus her island; Amazon Lily, is located in the calm belt which is naturally guarded by a lot of Sea Kings. It''s rather difficult to get there."
Both Valdis and Aokiji glared at me when I described her, I suppose the amount of information I gave was creepy.
"Our ship is lined with Seastone, so there won''t be much issues heading there." Aokiji informed us. "I guess that will be the first mission, what about the next one?"
"We could go for either attacking these revolutionaries'' ships and gather information or... investigate a shipwright named Tom?" Valdis suggested a few more missions, it was clear what her bias was. But then again, she does want to attack revolutionary ships and in turn I would be attacking my own father...
"The Tom thing could be taken care of by the Gorosei, and anything else here would bore Valdis to death. So... that leaves the Revolutionary ships." I explained, Aokiji nodded and Valdis had a cheeky smile plastered onto her face. I guess I''ve never met the fellow, so what is really the point if I attack some of his people? I''m a marine and it''s my job!
"What are the revolutionaries anyway? Never heard of them." Valdis gandered her eyes over to me for an explanation.
"They''re a group of people and are essentially an independent militia which seeks to tear down the world government and all it stands for." I did give her a fairly basic description, but it was enough for her to go on.
"So it''s decided; you''ll meet with Boa Hancock and discuss the treaty and position the Marines have with her and you''ll also hunt down the ships of the revolutionaries and gather information about their plans." Aokiji clarified. It''s rather a surprise to see the marines taking action against him already, the World Government haven''t even discussed the threat he poses to them. Well, he is a special case; that might explain it.
"Yeah..." I know I haven''t met the guy before, but he''s still my dad isn''t he? It doesn''t really fit my nickname to just go: Hey dad! I''m the daughter you left in Foosha Village and I''m going to destroy these ships which belong to your subordinates. Love ya'' lots! Although I probably wouldn''t say love ya'' lots.
"You sound unsure, want to switch one out?" Aokiji looked down at me, I''m very certain he''s concerned for my well-being.
"Uh... nope! It''s just a bit of cold feet! After all: the only other mission I''ve been on I''ve knocked the guy I was supposed to protect unconscious for a few weeks. But it will pass!" I had to lie, it wouldn''t exactly be normal to tell him that the revolutionary leader is my father.
"You''re lying." Valdis stuck her face in front of me, glaring intently with curiosity.
"Really? Why do you think such a thing?" I feel as though I''m walking into a trap.
"Because you knocked the guy you were supposed to protect unconscious for a few weeks and you didn''t give a shit about it until now." Well, I''m sure I should have just seen that one coming. "What''s bugging you?"
"Oh... you know... the possibility we could be eaten by Sea Kings, the giant animals on Amazon Lily which could beat us up, the Kuja attacking us and destroying us, my father being on the revolutionary ship, Aokiji taking a nap in Amazon Lily. A lot of things are worrying me." I''m making this too obvious, aren''t I? Then again, if I they do fall for this then I''m sure I''ll get away with it.
"Wait... why would your father be on a revolutionary ship?" Aokiji picked out the most blatant piece of information which concerned me.
"That''s what you''re focused on? How strong are the giant animals in Amazon Lily?" It''s rather clear what priorities Valdis has.
"Oh... well he sort of is a revolutionary... something like their leader or similar." I figured that hiding it wasn''t doing me any favors. "And the animals are pretty strong...it would actually do us a favor if Valdis trained there."
"Oh, so your father is Dragon?" Valdis and Aokiji had blank stares, I had no idea if they even cared about the fact that he was my father, although for Valdis; she is probably wondering how to beat up a giant ape. "That actually makes a lot of sense. So, do you want to pick a different mission?"
"I''m fine with it... I''m not going to hold back because he''s my father or anything. Besides, what are the chances he''s actually on the ship?" Aokiji shrugged at my response and Valdis was still unresponsive due to day-dreaming about giant apes. "Do we head back to Marineford first to discuss things with Sengoku first or do we begin immediately?"
"I''ll inform Sengoku, which mission are you planning on first?" It was at that point Valdis had come to her senses, she must have heard that we were starting now.
"If the revolutionaries are nearby then perhaps we could go after them? If not then I suppose Amazon Lily would be a better choice." Aokiji looked through a few of his documents stacked on top of his desk, picking a singular one out and analyzing it thoroughly.
"They were last spotted heading towards Water 7." Aokiji explained. "So Amazon Lily it is."
"Okay, we should go--" I was planning on telling Valdis that we should prepare, but it appeared that she was already out of the room. "I''m going to go prepare, tell me when we arrive within Amazon Lily''s range."
I headed for the doorway; with no actual plans to prepare since we were just going to argue about how the marines were going to listen to her since everyone saw her as beauty. Although I do have a sneaking suspicion that things will get out of hand.
"You and your father are quite similar." Aokiji commented, I did stop in my tracks, y''know to be polite. "You wish to challenge the World Government and what it stands for."
I guess he does pose a point, I might take after Dragon in the sense that I''m challenging the zenith of authority to change the world drastically. Except I didn''t start a militia to actually fight against them and I subordinated myself to them.
"You''re simplifying this heavily, Aokiji, that is the most vague way to describe it." It did feel as though I was insulting him, even if it wasn''t intentional. "My father wishes to tear it down and rip it off because of its ideologies. If I were to remove the World Government then chaos would be set in stone, pirates everywhere would ravage streets and cause havoc. If it is at all possible, then changing the World Government would solve it. My father wishes to destroy them, I wish to reform them."
"That idea is as radical as your father."
"Well, you did say that we are similar, didn''t you?" I did giggle slightly at how sudden this conversation occurred, I then continued on my way out of his quarters.
"Maris! Your golden stick broke!" Valdis shouted out, I hurried my pace as I stepped outside.
"I told you not to touch it!" I shouted back at her.

Ah~! Hebihime is benevolent!" The praise of her people were loud and clear, but in truth him entering the country wasn''t out of kindness, but instead out of spite. Once her sisters retrieved the weapon they had, then the World Government would listen to anything they said; Aokiji entering the country was just for convenience, they needed someone to blame.
Chapter 21: Babylon, the... genius?
Thirty minutes. That is how long me and Valdis have been standing in front of Babylon ever since we mentioned the fact that I flew onto the island. You may be wondering why me and Valdis are standing and not walking; Babylon became completely absorbed by the idea that I flew. You may be wondering how somehow can go on about the fact you flew for thirty minutes without a break or even a drink of water; I am actually wondering that myself. Now, why are we listening to her babble on about me flying? I don''t know and besides I''m not sure if she''s even talking about flying anymore.
It started so innocently... she was surprised by the fact I could fly and I explained the concepts of eating a devil fruit to her and how I could transform into lightning, being a Kuja it was expected that she would be surprised by the fact one could be able to do such things since they''re not exposed to devil fruits. So I decided to politely answer questions for her. It was all about lightning and electricity at first; the extent of my abilities and how they work and what not. She then began talking about... I am not even sure anymore. I know she''s enthusiastic to be meeting a devil fruit user especially a logia...

"Do you guys have a ship?" Finally after all of her droning on ceased, we were left with a question. I hesitated, not because I didn''t have an answer but I just wanted to savor the silence that we had. My ears feel so relaxed...
"Well, the marines have a bunch of ships so I''m pretty sure that''s a yes." With my answer Babylon shook her head, from that I take it that she wants a different answer.
"Not the marines, I mean you!" Me? I suppose certain marines customize their ships but I don''t think I''ve seen anything too out of the ordinary.
"No, I don''t have a specific ship I use." Babylon''s eyes lit up, her reaction was melodramatic considering the answer I had.
"Then would you mind if I built your ship?" ...What? I''m not going senile since I''m still a child even if I have the mentality of a woman in her thirties. Maybe I''ve gone insane from her non-stop chatter. "I swear I''ll make you the best ship ever!"
Okay so I''m not insane, or at the very least she is also insane. She is a child who has no knowledge of devil fruits or the outside world and she is requesting to build a ship? We took a turn in the opposite direction, we were heading through a couple of shrubberies and some foliage before we came across what was a rather simplistic cave. I could tell from the outside that it was well-lit and was pretty well-maintained.
"None." Should I really be surprised at that? "I''ve just been designing them all this time."
Inside the cave was something I would expect to see from a reserved shut-in; piles of books-although in this case it''s pachments-as their source of entertainment. Although that''s really the sign of a shut-in, is it? There was a table placed at the end where the parchments were stacked, it also had various tools for drawing as well. The parchments were blank and on the end side of the table was a smaller stack of drawings. There was really nothing else in here.
"Cozy." Valdis commented, she was in a rush to see the drawings peculiarly, I didn''t take her for an artsy type of person. "Maris, come look at these."

"Babylon!" Unfortunately when I just took notice of a very important drawing it was interrupted by two very scruffy voices. They sound like... Sandersonia and Marigold, right? Wait, if they''re here then what happened at the negotiation? Babylon required my undivided attention just to know what she was saying! Oh, but the drawing is important as well! Which one seems more interesting?
"Oh, Miss Marigold and Sandersonia!" Babylon obviously knows them well. "Meet my new friends! They''re Marines!"
And... our identities are right out the window. Amazing, I suppose I''ll find out what happened after dealing with them.
"Marines? Babylon stand-" Marigold was quick to get defensive but was also quick to stop when she saw the two of us. Well let''s be honest; you wouldn''t expect two nine year olds to be dangerous marines, would you? "They''re... children."

"Um... nice to meet you, I''m Maris and this is my friend, Valdis." We are nine... which isn''t the normal age for a marine to be, especially a commissioned officer. This seems good, right? If it isn''t then this is going to suck.

"Please ignore her." Well, it seems this negotiation is already going south, so why not finish it off? "I understand that we are here to discuss the treaty of being a Shichibukai with Boa Hancock. So we don''t waste anymore valuable time, how about we head over to finish that?"
They''re silent, which could either mean they''re speechless because we''re children or they really aren''t going to tolerate any of our shit anymore. If we do fight them then I''m 99% sure we will fail this mission, if we don''t then there''s only a fifty-fifty chance we''ll fail. I''m liking my chances.
"We should take them to the Hebihime." Marigold finally spoke, they both do seem surprised some I''m going to guess my chances are good here. "It seems that he was right."
He...? So that means there''s a man here, and since no other person in the world could possibly stand in the same room as that woman without being aroused then it''s quite clearly Aokiji. He''d be too lazy to even try and make a move.
"If they''re here, then what on Earth caused the boar to be sent off the island?" Moral learned; don''t punch boars off Amazon Lily. It seems people get suspicious when you do that.
"It was me! I built a cannon which packs a punch and tested it out on the boar!" I find that as believable as a child who possesses super-Haki. Then again I''m missing the point that this is a girl who is only a child and can produce detailed designs of galleons and ships of the line... if she is even confident to the point she can build a ship then whose to say she couldn''t make a cannon that powerful?
Wait... I''m being an idiot! This is a girl who can accurately draw detailed designs of first-rate ships and could possibly build one! It doesn''t matter if she can talk a lot or bore people to death! What''s important is she can do such things despite being a child!
I want her on my crew!
"Babylon... you should have told us you were going to be doing something so dangerous. We wouldn''t be in such a mess!" Sandersonia scolded her, they gestured for us to go out the cave and walked out themselves. Although this is a good time to talk with the two of them.
Considering the situation, we should focus on trying to resolve this peacefully since destroying the Kuja isn''t really something I want on my record. I can''t afford to be messy here,can I? I''m going to have to think all this through and most importantly... make sure these two shut up.
"Anne, Valdis, I''m going to need you to listen carefully." I took a more stern tone instead of a more sarcastic one. "Under no circumstances once we enter the throne room will you say anything."
When I did turn around to them I was expecting more of their confused expressions where they wanted me to explain something but they both seemed to understand. Valdis seemed bored but still understood and Babylon took the situation''s sensitivity seriously.
With that in mind we walked out of the cave.
I took the leisure to eavesdrop by using Haki and my devil fruit, to find out what''s going on with Hancock and Aokiji.
Let''s see... animals, Hancock... Hancock... A lot of people are talking about Hancock. Her popularity is frightening, only an odd few are talking about something other than her. That of course makes it easier to find them since they''re the only ones talking about marines and weapons... and compensation. So it really did fail that much?
"Admiral, I demand an explanation! Or perhaps you wish to become statue instead?" Wow, first words I hear from her are a threat. Then again, I''m not one to be talking. She is meant to be some sort of stunning beauty... I guess the angle and way I''m seeing her isn''t really that good if she doesn''t look like much.
"I told you before; it''s just my two ensigns. It won''t be that difficult to find them, they cause a lot of commotion." Aokiji looks pretty normal, then I guess my Haki isn''t giving me a lower-quality view of the beautiful pirate empress.
If that''s the case... is this it? I find Emma Watson more attractive than her, I find Olivia Wilde more attractive than her! That''s kind of unfair since they''re pretty people, but still! If I had to go on a date with either her or Rebel Wilson then I would pick Rebel Wilson, not just because the conversation we would have would be far more interesting and I kind of liked Pitch Perfect.
Okay, I got distracted for a moment and now I''m feeling slightly sad that I will never watch Pitch Perfect three.
Damn it! Focus, this is a negotiation with a pirate empress warlord who clearly has the upper-hand and I''m not paying attention to the conversation she''s having because I was so disappointed that she looks so normal!
"Why do you still feign ignorance? What-" she was rather deep in her speech before the phone rang. She picked it up and on the other side were her sisters!
"Sister, there''s something important we must tell you!" Sonia hastily informed her.
"What is it? Did you find the weapon?"
"No... the man wasn''t lying. He had two ensigns on the island." It seems that they''ve lost their biggest piece of leverage, but they''ve still got something.
"Oh, so those two men somehow slipped past the grasp of sea kings? What lucky fools." Well, she is an empress of an island and it seems she has realized that she has only that to go on now.
"... It was two little girls. The boar flying was Babylon testing something." It seems Hancock''s hiding her surprise over it, she''s very composed, isn''t she?
"Nevertheless, they''ve broken the treaty, it is something that can''t be forgiven so easily." With that she hung up and not only that but I''ve gotten a pretty dangerous and possibly stupid idea which may bite me back later.
Her enslavement.
Hancock was captured and enslaved as a child by world nobles, on her back is the hoof of the soaring dragon which is used to mark slaves. It is something she''d kill to keep secret and because of that it would be stupid to even bring up in a negotiation like this. Although considering the situation we''re in I''m sure to get out of this mission at the bottom and I''m not okay with failing a mission... again. If I play it carefully then I might actually win her over with it. If I''m going to use it then I need to plan this out, since Babylon and Valdis are going to shut up I''ve just got what I''m going to say.
Here''s hoping I don''t accidentally enrage the pirate empress...
Chapter 22: Negotiating With An Empress
This seems tense, I know we''re meeting a pirate empress who is going to be mad at us for journeying onto her island without permission, but still this seems a bit too tense. I mean the worse thing that happens is that we all get turned to stone and we never see the light of day again. That doesn''t sound that good, but I have dealt with a lot worse, so a pirate empress with narcissism isn''t going to do much.
I thought of two ways I can do this in the time it has taken us to reach the inside of this palace; the sure-kill method and the not-so-sure kill method. Those aren''t ways of describing the plan''s probability of success but instead their probability of failure.
The sure-kill method is simply to be overbearing, I have to be a strong presence and simply overshadow Hancock and threaten her. In other words I have to threaten to release the fact she''s a slave for her to agree with the negotiation. She already hates the marines and I''m pretty sure I''m not going to make any difference in that matter; aside from making it worse. This is a method of failure because I''m only ten-percent sure that it will work. If you''re wondering why it''s because of Valdis and Babylon. Aokiji would be fine if I did such a thing, although he wouldn''t commend me for doing it he wouldn''t complain either. Valdis'' father was a world noble who killed her mother and she got the blame for it, I don''t think she''d really let me threaten former slaves like herself. Babylon doesn''t really seem keen on betraying Hancock either and I could use someone like her on my crew.
The not-so-sure method and the more merciful one at that is to... be nice. She will be an asshole, she will be arrogant and she will demand things, but I can''t cave into how annoying I am going to find her. I''ve dealt with a lot of patients who have annoyed me in more ways, so I''m sure this won''t be much. Instead of threatening her with slavery I will use it as a reason she should agree with me by stating my goal to reform the world government. This may not work as well in terms of convincing her but it does somewhat get me a better chance of trying to get Babylon in my crew.
"Sister, we have brought them!" Marigold called out, we had just entered the throne room and right at the end was Hancock, sitting down and facing us and standing in front of her was Aokiji who I''m rather surprised is standing up at all. The room was empty and the walk down to where she was felt like walking in an empty church. When we did finish our walking it was just me, Aokiji, Babylon and Valdis facing the three sisters.
"My, my... you''ve made another friend." Hasn''t changed at all, I wouldn''t expect anything less. Although for what I''m about to do I''m going to need this to continue being a room where only women step foot in.
"Aokiji, come back in 10 minutes." his curiosity was aroused and he looked down at me, I only kept my gaze on Hancock to try and figure out what method I would take.
"Don''t take too long. I''ll be just outside." Well, I think he has gotten a hint at what I''m about to do, and I suppose now is the time to do it since he''s gone.
There was a tense silence after he left, for about a minute me and Hancock stared each other down, her looks were even more clearer in person and I still stand by my saying that she is in fact very normal looking. I''m kind of bitter about it, but that''s not important.
"Why are two children in the marines?" She broke the silence, her expression practically screamed passive-aggression. Since this is a negotiation I should take the control of the conversation into my hand, shouldn''t I?
"Boa Hancock, one of the seven royal Shichibukai and empress of the island Amazon Lily and the people of Kuja, this is a negotiation on whether or not your alliance with the World Government and the Marines should be terminated and in turn you shall be reinstated as an outlaw." I copied her, I''m not going to lie. In times like these I can''t show weakness and who better to learn from than the legendary pirate empress herself? Her expression, tone and even her body language I copied to try and gain control.
"Oh, and what is a child who isn''t worthy of licking my boots going to do?" Hancock had a cocky smirk which I admit is pissing me off. Sure-kill is somewhat tempting now.
"So, is that you wishing to terminate it?" I remained calm, it was just her being a bit of a bitch, nothing I can''t handle. She also seemed to get frustrated, I suppose it''s because I''m not catering to her every whim like everyone else. I''m trying my best to be friendly; if I can get her on my side then I''ve got the empress of the Kuja with an unparalleled beauty and a devil fruit which works in turn with that. It''s having a friend in a high place. I suppose I''ve evened out the leverage and may have even gained the upper-hand; us breaking the treaty is worth overlooking in the case that she gets to keep her position. She is aware that her looks aren''t affecting me and acting out of order won''t save her.
"I''m sure that won''t happen since the children who came along just suddenlyturned to stone." I was expecting this to happen! It just really seemed like her character.
"What about the admiral who is going to come back to find the children turned to stone or missing or even dead? He already thinks badly of the Shichibukai and such a sight might encourage him to make a Buster Call." Well, Aokiji; I''m going to have to antagonize you for the sake of the negotiation. Besides she''s going to hate you in the future for stabbing Luffy.
"There''s no way someone would do such an unreasonable thing!" Hancock was losing her edge, which is a good sign. Now to try and seem like a good person!
"It''s hard to believe, I know. Every admiral believes that the Shichibukai are pirates and that pirates will never change. It is all the more reason for him to do it." Now I''ll try to finish it off! "I don''t think it''s right, which is why I told Aokiji to take this mission next!"
In reality that is just an excuse to try and win her over., but I wouldn''t tell her that she''d continue to hate me. There was however both a curious and infuriated glance I received from Hancock.
"What was your goal in coming here to negotiate?" Well that went a lot smoother than I had anticipated; I guess the tension caused me to over-exaggerate. This part seems rather simple now.
"My goal... is to gain you as an ally." Hancock was confused by my response, I would be too if I was in her shoes. "My main goal is to reform the world government and marines, I wish to expel all the corruption and evil which lies within them both. The world government continues to allow its nobles to enslave people and break countless laws just because they have the status which holds power. I want to change all of that and I''m aware that as of now I can''t do anything. You are the empress of the Kuja, of Amazon Lily and a Shichibukai, you have a remote location which is unreachable by normal means and you''re near the important marine locations. It has no worth now, but I''m sure it will entail something in the future."
It''s risky saying all that, it''s a what if combined with her needing to trust me. She had a rough past which caused her to trust only her sisters which doesn''t prove to benefit me in any way.
"My charms do not affect you, you''re a child who refuses to bow down, everything you have said is nothing more than just a childish ideal that will never succeed. All of which is exactly like Babylon" Hancock rubbed her eyes, staring down at me. "Talking to you is different from Babylon, it''s not talking to someone of ingenuity but instead experience. An easy answer would be you''re a genius like her, but it feels like I''m talking to a woman instead of a girl."
Did she just technically figure out I''m a reincarnation? I give her less credit than she deserves, even if she didn''t get the point she basically figured it out.
"Where do we stand on the negotiation?" This is the part out of my control, she needs to decide for herself.
"What will become of my position and what do you have that''s more tangible to convince me to ally myself with you?" Oh thank God, she''s convinced but just needs a bargain.
"I will ensure that your position remains as it is with no consequences,if you have any complications then you can give me a call on my Den Den Mushi, I will convince Sengoku and Gramps to organize some trade with the Amazon Lily." I guess I have to coerce someone again, this job is just filled with talking.
"If that is the case then it is settled." With that the negotiation was over and I technically did succeed the mission, we proceeded to exchange contact information via Den Den Mushi. Now I have to explain to Aokiji that I made her hate him to win the negotiation.
"Hebihime, there''s one thing I''d like to say." Babylon openly spoke, now that I think about it Babylon does appear to know Hancock and apparently she''s not affected by her looks as well. "I am going to join Maris'' crew."
...Did that really just happen? I was definitely interested in getting her in my crew but I never suspected that she''d openly want to join. What seemed appealing? We seem like total idiots from what she''s seen.
Hancock was silent, she shifted her gaze between me and Babylon, after a minute had passed she finally decided to speak.
"Seeing as how determined you are for this alliance and all you are willing to contribute to make sure it succeeds; there is no issue with Babylon joining you." It was that easy... if you consider coercing Sengoku to agree with trade with the Kuja easy.
"Alright! This is going to be great!" Babylon was excited by it, I have no idea what went through her head to make her want to join the crew. Why am I complaining? I''ve just gotten a genius to join my crew!
Now... I suppose we head to the next mission, right? The one with the revolutionary army?
That sounds like it will be fun.
