《The Chronicles of the Rift and Abyss: The Odyssey of Lucarius Trinity》 Prolgue 1: The Creation of existence Before Light came to be, There was eternal Darkness. In those days, there were sno sign of life, as the darkness soonswalloed up any sparks of light. Then came a day when a small rift opened. Unlike the sparks before, this spark grew until a light emerged from the rift. The light piecered into darkness, birthing what is known as the universe. Not many people understands how the universe came to be, as there were no concrete facts, nor were there any sort of evidence that could be found. Many scholars, scientists, prophets, and wise man tried to search this truth but came back empty handed. However the universe was not the only thing that the light brought forth. It brought the first sentient beings known as the Celestial Beings. These Celestial Beings are commonly labeled as the following: Gods, Aquana, Titans, E''vorus, and Divine beasts. The Celestial Beings lived in harmony, without conflict or argument. They resided in a place only known as The Abyss, the centre point of the universe. However as if waking up from a dream, a god fell and soon vanished from the plane of existence. In a state of panic, the Celestial Beings seeked out the answer and soon unveiled the fearful question. The Celestial Being had an energy source only known as Aethos. Aethos composed sevety-five percentage of their body, and the only way to produce this energy source, is to simply have strong emotions or creating esssence that is built up in the body. Sadly for these Celestial beings, they did not have the function to build up essence by themselves. This soon cause many Celestial Beings to fear, and fear brought the war. When the Celestial Beings found a third option, which is to be worshipped, thet soon sought for dominance and an argument broke out. Soon argument became a conflict, and the conflict brought the first war. In order to survive, The Celestial Beings raged a war like no other. Like a nightmare, The Celestial Beings slew their own kin, enslaved their own siblings, and destroyed all that they built. As the battle raged on, the Celestial Beings longed for peace. The war soon took a toil on them, and they tried to make peace with nearby Celestial Beings. Soon alliances began to form, and each Celestial Beings reunited among these three so-called factions; Limos, Vark''d?l, and Gen?s. These Factions seeked to fullfill their own Ideals, and their own ways of dominance. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. The battle raged on amongst these three factions, and it was fruitless for many millennials. That is until a god found an easy way to harvest Eathos without fading. He Discovered that by creating lesser beings, they can harvest without the need of trying to enslave one another. He quickly spread his discoveries to the others, and used this knowledge in order to bring an end to this long conflict. The three faction signed a treaty, to never go to war amongst each other again, and peace finally returned. The new era began, one that brought many lesser beings. Many were unique from one another. The Limos factions created Angels, Centurions, Dw?rvels (a.k.a Dwarves), Elvians (a.k.a elves), Demi-humans, Beastials, Keepers, Fare-folks, and Humans. The Vark''d?lfaction created Demons, Wraiths, Specters, Draconians, A?rmalias, Elemtals, Ghouls, Vampires, Ogres, Orcs, Goblus (goblins), and Tryxians. These new races worshiped their gods, offering Aethos to their master accordingly, and the Celestialswere very pleased. Yet they had an imperfection, that dangered the lives of the Celestial beings. It happened between an argument of which Celestial Being was the strongest. This small argument between two lesser beings, created a devastating conflict, that brought war amongst the lesser beings. So a new Era began, one that brought the first crusade. Each races launched their own crusade, seeking dominace for their own ideals. Each race slaughtering many innocent lives and enforcing their ideals. Soon their ideals became corrupt as they sought for power, and other earthly values. THe lesser races wanted to consume each others, which brought greif to the Celestials Beings. To bring peace, and for the treaty to hold, the Celestial Beings created galaxies and dimensions, in order to distance the lesser beings. Prologue 2: The creation of the abyss Hi guys this is Jjthe3rd. They began to lose their imagination and faith. many ''lesser'' beings rebelled against their gods and disobeyed their laws. The transcendents discussed this in order to keep their connections with the lesser beings. In order to maintain this connections, the trascendents selected few individuals to become their chosen ones. Some people call them prophets, heroes, rulers, Supreme leader, and so on. The trascendents looked at there champions and thought it was good. These champions were able to travel through dimensions and open their own rifts to other worlds. They were given extraordinary amounts of power. They used champions in order to police their dimensions, some sort of entertainments, to lead their people for greater goods, and some even used champions for their own pleasures. The champions decided to create a center point to all worlds and dimensions. They called it the Abyss, a land where all races and beings can meet each other. The trascendents thought that there was peace between the trascendents and the ''lesser'' beings. Until a group of champions went rogue and terrorized worlds that couldn''t stand up to the champions. Very soon this influenced the abyss to also become lawless and corrupt. chaos was everywhere, the weak were devoured by the strong, people coveted other belongings, and murder and rape happened hourly in the Abyss. Then one champion from each races banded together in order to counter this evil. These groups were later called ''The Council''. They created a safe zone in the abyss and repelled the chaos from other worlds. However from the chaos region, 7 beings rose to power. these beings were later called the ''The Seven Tyrants''. These Seven Tyrants was equal in power with The Council and fought one another regularly. The trascendents found this event troubling. They sought out a solution to this problem. Then one minor god found a solution to this problem. Each races and beings gets their own source of energy. At that time the first energy to be born was mana. Mana is the source to use magics. They labelled each races with how capable each can use mana and made their own hierarchy. The order goes as Angels and Demons, Centurions and Wraiths, Fare-folks and Elemental and keepers, Elvians and Speters, Draconians and Dwarves, vampires and ghouls, Demi-humans and Draconians and Armalias and Beastials, Humans and Tryxians, and lastly Ogres and Orcs and goblins. The transcendents finished their works and found it was good, and they finally found rest. In a far way world, a planet called Earth, a baby is born. This baby will cause a big reaction throughout the history that every living being will remember. This cry brought cheers to their parents. "Honey, its a boy. we have a baby boy!" said the father The mother simply nodded but her face radiating with joy even though she is exhausted. The father showed the baby to a small child sitting next to the father. "Here Johnnie , say hi to your new baby brother." The boy hopped out of the chair and walked towards the small fragile baby. "My brother?" said the boy while cocking his head to the side. The father simply replied with a simple nod. The boy simply rubbed his nose on the baby. The father got up from his chair and brought the family closer together and hugged his whole family. The baby brought the family closer to own another as they huddled together in the cold snowy day outside the hospital. Also this is heavily influenced on religion as religion does play a big part in this story. There will be Buddha, Greek gods, Christianity/Judaism, etc. so please be merciful with it even though many people may be atheist here. :-3-: There will be other gods that are made up also so yeah...ENJOY! Inside a dorm, a man groans and fumbles to get his phone. He grabs his phone and checks the time. He gasps as he is late for school. He jumps out of his bed and quickly grab the nearest cloth. without showering, he goes to kitchen and grabs a simple thing to eat, an apple and yesterday''s sandwich that was left over. The reason why he woke up late was because of the party that his next door neighbor started. He invited most people from college and brought many alcohols and drugs. Lucarius has a great tolerance for alcohols but yesterday was a different story. many people brought vodka and moonshines. Moonshines are illegal and the person who brought it had high percentage of alcohol. As soon as Lucarius drank it, he was already drunk. As soon as he reached his dorm, he got knocked out. Thanks to his friend Conner, he managed to reach the bed. Lecture was about to start in 13 minutes. Lucarius knew that if he took the normal path, he wouldn''t be able to get there on time. Before he got caught, he took the shortcut. The short cut is actually a narrow alley way. The reason why it was a shortcut is because the alley way leads right to the roof of the building. From there it can be entered through the fire exit where his class is down the hall from the fire exit. The only problem is, it needs a bit of parkour skills. As Lucarius began climbing the fence that leads to the roof, He felt like he was being followed. He glanced back and he noticed a man wearing a hood with a red Beats headphone. The man had blazing red hair, with hazel eyes. He was a tad taller and a little more muscular than Lucarius. Lucarius grinned. "Aren''t you a bit late to class Conner? You know Ms. Jackson hates you right?". "Shut up! I helped you get to your dorm. You should be thankful rather than reminding me that I am late. You didn''t even wake me up!" said Conner. Conner is a childhood friend ever since he moved into his class in grade 1. Conner is a bit womanizer. just like his brother but his brother at least kept him to himself. As they parkour their way to class, they barely made it in time as the professor began the lecture. While the professor began her lesson Lucarius quickly finished the assignment that was due today. While he finished the assignment he made sure to make a copy for Conner. When he was little, Lucarius was considered gifted as he read many books. As if he was hungering for more knowledge, he absorbed all the information from text-books, non-fictions, magazines, and so on. By the time he was in high school, he helped his teacher and his classmates. He was considered the best teacher''s assistance. However this also lead him to be isolated from his peers since they considered him a nerd and unsociable since the only thing he talks about the discoveries that he made. Only Conner helped him back then. Conner helped him to rejoin society. Conner was a charismatic person even though he wasn''t smart. Back in high school, Conner was struggling to finish his course without failing. Fortunately, Lucarius helped him with his study. Together they had this mutual benefits while creating a very strong bonds of friendship. While Lucarius finished the assignments, Conner took down the notes that the professor said. Conner was the best at taking down notes. By the time the professor finished her lecture, Conner made a copy for Lucarius and Lucarius made a copy for Conner. As soon as the professor finished her lecture, she called the students to bring the assignments for marking. As Lucarius went up, Conner pretended he was trying to find it in his bag.Hhe passed Conner, he slipped his assignment on his desk. As soon as everyone handed their assigner, the bell rang. Then she faced Lucarius "Lucarius I know you are helping your friend. However helping your friend cheat isn''t the answer." Then Conner gave a nervous laughter. "Haha-ha. Ms.Jackson, what are you saying? We didn''t do anything." Ms.. Jackson faced Conner and said with a monotone voice "Oh really know? So you don''t admit cheating. Should I go and tell the administrator?" Then Conner clamped his mouth. She let out a deep sigh. "Look. You boys are bright and smart. I could see a bright future. However the action you take is unacceptable. Next time I will give a harsh warning." Then she dismissed them both. Ms. Jackson is very young for a professor. She is exactly 27 years old. She was offered many jobs. Even governments wanted her. However she had a desired for teaching. For a professor, she cared for her class and wanted everyone to succeed. She was a genuine mother like figure, even though she does not have a lover. Lucarius had admired her ever since he walked into her class. He thought of how much she sacrifices for her class, and even not give Conner a zero for plagiarism . Suddenly Lucarius was brought back to reality as Conner slapped his back. "Yo you coming to Gale''s party tonight?" Lucarius pondered for a moment then shook his head. "Nah, I have a hangover. I''m just going to study for today." Conner shrugs" OK, but if you change your mind, you can join anytime." Then Conner sprinted off. As Lucarius was heading back, he quickly visited a supermarket. His fridge was completely raided from his neighbor''s party. As he bought his groceries and on his way to his dorm, A strange glimmering appears at the side of the store. Lucarius approaches the light, curious of what it might be. As soon as he reached a 1 meter distance the light pounced towards him and enter his eyes. Lucarius screams as his eyes felt as if it was on fire. Then he couldn''t see and his vision went dark. He cried fore help but to no avail, as his conscious fades away. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --In Heaven-- An angel is striding towards a gate that is guarded by 2 angels with heavy armors. One could see this angel is a higher rank. The angels that were guarding the gate opens while saying "Gabriel, the Archangel has arrived." The angel Gabriel approaches the figure who is facing the other way, then he kneels before the figure. "My lord, I have fulfilled your task." The figure then looks back and faces the angel. "Good my faithful servant. Call in Zaphos. Tell him that his soul mate is is being transported to the abyss." The angel bows before leaving the figure. "Are you sure he is the you chosen one my lord" said a figure from the shadow behind the pillars. The figure simply nods and says "He is my chosen one, my champion. I have many things stored for him. My harbinger, The bearer of light and darkness. He is the right man for the right job." Lucarius kept moaning and crying out for help. He knew something happened since the air around him felt different. He quickly got out of the fetus position and felt his surroundings. It was different than he suspected. Instead of concrete and pavement, he felt grass and dirt. It was a cool soft felling. Lucarius wondered what happened. He felt like he passed out long enough for someone to kidnap him. Then his slowly returned. Although the pain was still intense, being able to see gave him relief. He quickly opened his eyes and observed his surrounding. He let out a gasp. There were enormous trees that were giving off a lustrous effect as if they were made of metals. The grass were all purple and gave out small glow. The place felt mystical. lucarius approached the trees. He felt the branches. Unlike the trees in Earth, the tress were soft and gave a warm feeling. Lucarius felt strange and wondered if this is a prank show and observed again for cameras. Then suddenly he heard something snapping behind him. Lucarius turns to face the noise to see what approaches him only to regret turning around. In front of him stood a large wolf. It stood 2 meter tall. It was bigger than an average wolf in Earth. The wolf''s fur was white as snow but had black veins that appeared throughout its body. On the wolf''s head was some sort of tattoo. However the most frightening features were the fangs that protruded. The fangs were like daggers while the horns protruded from the side of the head and faced the front as if it was ready to gore someone. Lucarius knew from biology class that running away from wild animals may trigger the animal instinct to chase. He made sure to face the wolf and slowly back away. However the wolf did not care. Before he noticed, it lunged towards him. Lucarius yelped and jumped away from the trajectory line. Lucarius grimaced as the horns on the side of the wolf still manage to graze his side causing a small laceration. Lucarius knew he couldn''t fight the creature since it had many advantages and he knew he couldn''t outrun it. He quickly began to thought out a plan. Lucarius quickly analyzed the rhythm of the creature seamed as if it favors charging in straight lines with the way it attacked previously. When the wolf began he quickly tried to dive under it. However the outcome came out horribly wrong. underneath the wolf''s belly, something pierced his legs. Lucarius howled and turned to see in the nick of time what injured him. The furs on the wolf formed a spike and let out some sorts of sparks. His face paled as he realized the miscalculation almost cost him his life and he almost turned into dog chow. The wolf slowly turned to face him. It slowly approached its prey as if it knew that Lucarius cannot run far. He quickly observed his surrounding. As soon as he looked to his side, he noticed that one of the trees were close to hi. If he climbs one before the wolf reaches him, he should technically be safe since it did not look like it was capable of climbing. As Lucarius made a mad dash to the tree, the wolf recognizing what it was doing, gave a mad pursuit. As soon as Lucarius reached the trees, the wolf was on top of him. However what the wolf did not recognize is the rock in Lucarius'' hand. back when Lucarius dived down, he also grabbed something suitable to defend himself. Knowing that he cannot outrun the wolf he grabbed it in order create a diversion that might buy some time. Lucarius fling the rock at its eyes before it can reach it. The wolf, not expecting the rock, was not agile enough to dodge away from trajectory line as the rock hit dead center in its eyes. The wolf howls in pain as it was not expecting from its prey. Lucarius took this time to quickly climb the tree. halfway up the tree, Lucarius turned towards the wolf and finally took a breath of relief. "Finally I''m out of the woods." said Lucarius. But as if the gods were playing with him, it wasn''t over. The wolf glared at Lucarius and hunched down as if getting ready to pounce. Curious Lucarius leaned forward. As seconds tick by, the sparks grew stronger until creating a ball in between it''s horn. The the wolf fling its head toward Lucarius as the ball flew towards Lucarius. He was caught off guard as the ball of lightning exploded in his face causing massive shock towards his body. Lucarius screamed in agony as his whole body felt like it was burning and he dropped out of the tree. The wolf recognizing that the the prey cannot run from it any longer pridefully approached its prey. Thinking that it was all over, Lucarius succumbed to his approaching fate and closed his eyes. However halfway there, the wolf went rigid. Wondering what has happened, Lucarius opens his eyes only to see a massive spear stick out from its chest. The wolf was surprised but didn''t live long to find out what has happened. The massive wolf slumped down on top of Lucarius pinning his legs. Lucarius groaned but tried to progress what has just happened. Then he heard a voice behind the wolf. Lucarius cried"Hello is anyone there? Please I am stuck right here!" Then he heard the voice go quite. Then he felt something was climbing on top of the wolf. What he seen climbing was not something that Lucarius expected. There was a rat. Not just any rat but it stood in its hind legs and it had mangy hair. it wore something like a leather pant and had its chest exposed. on it''s side, it carried a belt that had many kinds of items on it. It carried something like a crossbow. Its eyes giving a red glow as it stared directly into Lucarius'' eyes. Suddenly behind it, another voice rung out. The ratman on top of the wolf replied to the called. Suddenly another figure popped out from the side. Then the ratman began to talk to one another "Gressio viki, lez tal, dodo, mi"said the first ratman. "Chri chri gea Gressio . Do mi ga ch ma?" said the second ratmen. Then the first ratmen gave him a menacing smile at Lucarius and approached Lucarius. Lucarius, knowing something was wrong, suddenly broke into cold sweat "Look please let me go. I''m knew here. Please let me go." Then the ratmen reached something from his side. Before Lucarius recognized it, it quickly stabbed his stomach. The thing it was holding was a dagger. As if that wasn''t enough, it grabbed his stomach, reached in, and pulled out his liver. It gave a loud shriek of joy as Lucarius passed out from the pain. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys! Enough said, since I wasted your time, Here is a bonus chapter that is canon to the story. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a bright summer day in a small planet called Earth, there are children playing in a playground. Most children are playing on the swing, jostling each other, going down the slides, and playing tag(typical children''s activity). However one small boy is playing by himself. The boy was actually experimenting. In his hand, there was a bottle of nitrogen and the other hand had a thermos of hot water. If his hypothesis is correct, when liquid nitrogen meets with hot water, it will cause a reaction, usually causing an eruption an forming mist. He quickly got glass bowl and poured the hot water intro the bowl. Then he gingerly poured the cold liquid nitrogen. As he predicted, there was a reaction. However the reaction was rather weak which disappointed the boy. He quickly jot the results. Then a shadow loomed over the boy. Knowing someone was staring at him, the boy looked up. There stood an old man. He wore a tattered cloak, on his neck was a black scarf. On the old man''s skin was some sort of tattoo that traveled down his arm as if they were veins. He knew the man came for him but id not know the reason why. The man crouched down so that he was at eye level with the child. The old man gave a bright smile. "Child, what are you doing by yourself? Are you alone?" The child nod his head and returned to jotting down his result. However the old man grabbed his arm. "You know you shouldn''t be alone. Here where is your home?". The boy just replied "Mommy said not to talk to strangers. and not to follow strangers" The old man looks at him than chuckled. "Yes yes that is true. Sorry about that." the old man suddenly pulls out his other hand. "Here watch this he said." The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. The boy looked closely. Then suddenly from the the palm of his hand, a small spark formed in his hand. Then on his palm, there was a small ball of fire. the boy looked at his hands in astonishment. The man giggled and said "boy, if you can guess how I did it, then I will give you this little pendant. The man reached down to his pocket and pulled out a small pendant. On the pendant, a small symbol etched onto it. It seemed as if it was glowing. The boy just simply replied what he thought was the answer. "magic trick. I think you rubbed alcohols onto your hands." the man wrinkled his brows then let out a deep sigh. The fire suddenly was extinguished. "I see, what a shame." mumbled the man. Before the old man left, he asked "Child, what is your name?" The boy looked at him for a sec and debated on if he should tell his name. As soon as the man was about to leave, he opened his mouth and replied "Lucarius, Lucarius Trinity." the man tuned to him and just smiled. "I see. My name is Merlin, Warlock Merlin." Then the man left. As soon as the old man was out of sight, the child returned to his lab report. Then saw something at the corner of his eyes. There was the pendant on the same spot where the old man stood. He picked up, looked at it. The pendant gave off a strange glow. The voice grew louder every time he ignored it. He slowly opens his eyes. Before he opened his eyes, he hoped that everything that happened so far was a dream and the pain was merely a stomach ache from drinking to much alcohol. However when he opened his eyes, he was inside a cave. There were lanterns every where. As soon as his eyes adjusted to the light, he noticed his surrounding and felt like puking. There were body parts hanging from a hook that were attached to chains on the ceiling of the cave. He looked beside him and noticed something very familiar. It was a wolf''s head. Not just any wolf but the wolf that he fought. The only reason why he was able to recognize is the visible scar on the eye where he threw the rock at. However when he looked closer, it''s eyes and tongue were missing and there was a visible incision on the tongue as the tongue was cut clean. Then the phantom pain hit him and Lucarius focused on himself. When he looked down, he noticed he too was hanging by a hook that penetrated on the place the ratman stabbed. Lucarius screamed as reality hit him. "Help! Someone please help me!" Tears were streaming out from both pain and fear of what will happen to him. He knew he have escape. Then suddenly he heard something running towards him. the thing grumbled and then yelled at him. Before Lucarius turned towards the voice, something knocked him out again. 3 hours later, Lucarius woke up again. The place was still the same. However this time there were loud noise of chains being dragged. Lucarius looked up. There stood one of the ratman that had stabbed him. He heard something yelling and cursing towards the one ratman that was dragging something. Behind the ratman was the wolf''s head. Unlike last time, this time Lucarius thought over a plan on how to escape. He knew that if he cried out again one of them will come over to investigate. Instead this time he waited until for they come for him. Luckly the hole in his stomach stopped bleeding, however he knew that the longer he waited, the more likely his wound might get infected. Lucarius hoped that the ratman will come faster than he expected. As if someone answered his prayer, he heard visible noises from a hallway, down from the cave. He quickly acted as if he was dead. However unlike the usual noise of grumbling and sniffing, he heard a female voice with a masculine voice, different to those noisy voice that the ratmans made. Lucarius peeked at the figures that entered. There stood two figures entirely different to the ratman. Unlike the ratman, they looked lot more humanoid. The only reason he knew that they weren''t human were tails and hands that has rather long claws and the ears. One of them was a female, younger looking than Lucarius, around 16 if he had to guess. Even though she looked young, anyone can see that she was very beautiful. The person beside her was taller than her and had visible muscle who wore only an undershirt and short pants made of leather. He looked older than the girl, older than Lucarius. As they were sneaking by him, Lucarius quietly whispered to them. "Hey wait, please can you help me. I need help please." The two figure suddenly stopped and jumped as if they seen a ghost. They quickly turned towards the voice. When the two figure seen Lucarius, the girl let out a small gasp, as the boy just gave Lucarius a silent stare. Since Lucarius already got their attention, he continued. The two figures looked at each other and whispered to each. The girl whispered softly and it looked as if it was begging for something. The boy merely shook his head and whispered something to his sister. The sister pointed towards Lucarius and whispered something back and approached Lucarius quietly. The boy tried to stop the girl but heard a noise coming from the hallway and quickly hid in the shadow. Then the two ratman came in. They looked around inside the cave until their eyes met Lucarius. Then they both let out a menacing grin. Lucarius felt fear and his mind screaming danger. Lucarius wanted to move but realized that if he moved the girl might get caught. As the ratmans aproached him slowly his mind began to panic. Then he suddenly recognize a figure that was stalking the ratmans it was the boy, and he carried a rather sharp dagger. Before anyone can react, the boy stabbed the knife from behind. The first ratman shrieked in pain as the other turned around while grabbing his dagger in order to facethe threat that approached them. Before the boy can react, the ratman let out a fit of rage before lunging towards him. The boy barely managed to parry the incoming blade. Meanwhile the girl quickly dashed towards Lucarius. As soon as she reached Lucarius, she quickly grabbed the chains and began to chant something. suddenly the chains began to move. Then as if it was alive. the hook bend in a degree that let Lucarius slide out of. The first ratman faced at Lucarius and seeing that he was freed, The ratman pointed at the girl and shrieked in rage. than it grabbed the crossbow that hang from it''s side. The boy recognizing what was going to happen quickly shouted something to the girl. Before she can react, the arrow was already loaded and was aimed at the girl. Then the ratman released the arrow. it felt like a slow motion as the arrow was traveling. Lucarius turned around. The girl was visibly shocked and couldn''t get out of the trajectory line. Lucarius knew he had to do something. he thought of pushing her away but he did not have enough strength. The only way was to get in the way of the trajectory line. He grimaced as he quickly went in the way in order to block the incoming shot. The arrow pierced through him and was visibly sticking out from his chest. The girl looked shocked as Lucarius felt strength was fading away from him. He slumped down. The girl shook her head as reality began to hit her. She screamed in rage as her eyes looked as if on fire. The ratman with the crossbow squealed and began loading the arrow. However he was tad late as her fist combusted into flame and faced her palm towards the ratman. then balls of fire shot from her palm and and shot towards the ratman. Not being agile enough, the ratman was directly hit in the face. The ratman let out a terrible shriek as his face began to burn. The second ratman shrieked as he seen his comrade burst into flames. the boy used this moment of hesitation to quickly dashed forward and push his dagger into its neck. The surprised ratman let out a terrible gurgling noise as blood began to flood his lungs and suffocating him. It dropped its dagger and clawed at it''s neck as if trying to get air. than it went rigid and fell down. The fire in the girl''s eyes was slowly extinguished and quickly looked at Lucarius. She quickly checked his pulse than his breathing. She felt relief that he was at least breathing and still had a pulse. HE thought that he finally died after being in this darkness for the fourth time. He just wished that the madness can finally stop. As he thought it was all over, a voice calls out to him. Inside the void of his mind, there stood another man. It seems that he is trying to say something to him but Lucarius couldn''t hear him somehow. Then his consciousness seemed to be waking up. When he woke up, he felt a pain coming from his chest and from his stomach. He groaned whenever he moved a little bit. As he got out of the bed, he observed the room and noticed he wasn''t inside the dorm. He groaned in protest since he knew that it wasn''t a dream. Lucarius joked to himself that this time he is going to be eaten alive by some animal people. As he was thinking on how to escape the door to the room opened. There stood the girl that he rescued. She was surprised to see him awake but recovered quickly and gave a wide grin. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Before Lucarius woke up, back at the cave) The girl cried out as she seen the young man bleeding out. She was not expecting for this to happen. She will not see another person die. The other demi-human arrives beside her. He looks at the young man lying on the floor. He knows that most likely he would die before they can treat his wounds. He looks at the girl and just gives a shakes his head. "Mia, he is not going to make it. Before we arrived he already has a serious injury to his stomach. By the looks of the wound on the stomach, they already took out a vital organ that was important towards this human. The only way to save him is to ease his pain." The girl nods and looks at her brother. "No I can;t brother. He saved my life even though he doesn''t know me. I can''t see another person die while protecting me. Please brother there must be another way we could save him." Even though the girl pleads her brother to save him, the injury that was inflicted on this poor man was very serious. The young demi-human quickly observes his surrounding. Surely there must be another way to save him. the Demi-human quickly gets up and searches around the cave. Surely the ratmans must have left something for them to use. As he was quickly looking around, he finds something inside a flower pot. It was a green plant that sprouted a single flower on top. When the demi-human sniffed the plant, it smelled like a toxin. Even though the plant had toxin, he knew what exactly the plant was. He quickly grabbed the pot and rushed towards his sister. "Quick grab me something to grind and bring me some antitoxin. Mia looked at her brother strangely but as soon as she recognized what the plant was, she complied and grabbed something from her satchel. While he was preparing to pull the plant, Mia also grabbed earplugs and applied it to her brother. The brother gives her a quick glance an the sister affirms him with a nod. Then the brother pulls the plant. Out comes a root shaped like person. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. If one doesn''t know this plant and didn''t bring earplugs, this plant could be lethal to those who has a hearing. This plant is considered dangerous when pulled as it lets out a noise that can be very traumatic as it can give permanent deaf and can even lead to death. This rare plant is actually called the mandrake. This plant is used for many medicines when the toxins is removed. It is mostly known for healing medicine as it lets out chemicals that triggers a chemical inside the brain that causes rapid healing.The only way to differentiate mandrake from every other plants is the flower it sprouts that glows in the dark and the petals of the flower is green. As the brother pulls it out, the mandrake opens it''s crusted mouth and lets out a terrible shriek. The siblings waited patiently until the mandrake was finished and quickly grounded it up into powders. Then after applying antitoxin with few other medical components, they applied the salve on the wound. As they waited, the wounds that were applied by the salve let out steams as the chemicals did their magic. However even though the wound was healed, there were visible signs of infections spreading. The brother quickly dressed the wounded area and slugged Lucarius on his back. "Get all the things that we can carry and lets get out of here. We don''t want anyone come for slaying them." Mia complied and quickly stashed anything they found useful. Luckily they found that the ratmans left some precious objects and some money. As they were leaving, they hide their traces and burned whatever they couldn''t hide and left. For three days, the man didn''t wake up. And the siblings only hoped that the man will regain consciousness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Back in present time) The girl dashed towards Lucarius and hugged him. Lucarius was stunned as he wasn''t expecting a friendly attitude from a stranger. He quickly pushed her away from her and faced her. "Excuse me young lady, who are you? No more importantly where am I and what is this place?". Lucarius asked many questions towards the girl but the only answer he got was her cocking her head to the side in confusion. Lucarius sigh as he knew she didn''t speak her language from the response she gave and quickly tried to find something he could use to communicate. He found a pencil and quickly drew out many images that could somehow tell where he can be. Then he pointed her to see and put a question mark on it. As if she understood what he is saying. "Ner to a dil Abyss. Ner to dil da?" Lucarius let out a confused face. He couldn''t understand her at all. Before he gave up, the girl pointed at herself "Mia" she said. Then she pointed at Lucarius. Lucarius looked at her for a moment and realized what she was doing. "Lucarius" he said and let out a gentle smile. Mia gave a wide grin to Lucarius, showing she was happy. Suddenly the door opened and out came the other person. The girl hopped out of the bed and ran to the young man. Then she pointed at him and said "Grayl". Then she pointed at Lucarius and did the same thing. The man gave a nod and approached Lucarius. He beckoned for lucarius to come closer. Seeing no hostility from Grayl, he leaned closer. Suddenly Grayl grabbed his head and put something to his eyes. Lucarius winced in pain but it cleared quickly before he can react. Then Lucarius began hearing some voices. "..." "Luc.." "luc. ca.." "Hey..Luc. can...you" "Lucarius can you here me?" Lucarius stared at Grayl in disbelief. He suddenly can hear Grayl''s voice and it did not sound weird. Lucarius thought for a while before nodding his head. Grayl let out a sigh. He then started to explain everything. After thirty minutes later, Gray finished everything that Lucarius has to know. Lucarius had a hard time digesting this new information. ''Different world and universes? What have I got wrapped into.'' Lucarius massaged his temple. He wondered how his life changed from a college student to getting near death experience with a monster, then nearly getting killed by a ratman. Grayl looked at Lucarius sternly into his eyes and said, "you are lucky to be alive so far. If your description is correct, you faced against a steel Worg. They are good mounts for certain race since they can outrun most human horses and and can use mana. If you did not have proper equipment you would have died. Also the ratmans that abducted you were called the scrooge brothers. They are notorious criminals that have been abducting people and harvest organs and other body parts to those who desire them." Lucarius just stares at the ground in disbelief. He just wants to go home and accept the the offer of joining the party that Conner is going. ''Maybe I should seek a therapist when I get back...or go to an asylum or something.'' As Lucarius was thinking of what he should do back home, Mia came in with three cups and a kettle. "Guys it''s snack time! Let us talk later. I brought some tea for all of us." said Mia as she distributed the cups while pouring tea into the cups. Lucarius grabbed the tea. The tea did not look like a tea. Rather the water looked rather murky and there were things floating towards the surface. His face turned clammy as he stared at the tea, then at Mia and Grayl. Trying to not disappoint Mia he quickly chugged to drink down his throat. At first Lucarius felt like vomiting. Then he suddenly felt light and felt like strength was returning to his body. He looked at the cup again. As he observing what just happened, Grayl suddenly got up after drinking his tea. "Lucarius I think you should come with us. We are going to the city and I think you should come along also." Lucarius pondered for a sec before nodding. He doesn''t know where he is and it is good to observe what kind of atmosphere this place is. Mia gave a light smile before putting away the cups and the kettle. She quickly left the room. Grayl suddenly got irritated since Lucarius was taking too long and barked at him "Well are you just gonna stand there or start moving?" Lucarius snapped out of trance, followed Mia and Grayl as they departed towards the city that they mentioned. As they were leaving, Lucarius looked back at the house. Unlike usual houses in earth, The house was more like a small cottage with a tree on top of the house. It was truly mystical looking. Then Lucarius wondered if he will ever return back to Earth and tell this to his friends and families. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (meanwhile somewhere in the capital in the abyss) a shadow approaches a figure sitting down on a chair that was inside a dark room. The figure was staring out the window that shows the whole city. The shadow kneels "My lord, one of the suppliers were killed. There were no traces of who killed them, however their ears and front teeth were missing. I am guessing they will deliver the bounty to this city." The figure that was staring at the window suddenly swirls his chair around, facing the shadow. "It is a shame we lost one of our suppliers. However the plan still remains. It has only been delayed for few days and no more. However find out who killed them and how did they die. those two are surely adapted to their environment and should have not been easily exterminated." The shadow simply bows before leaving the presence of the figure. As he leaves, he slowly closes the door behind him. Th figures then turns towards the window and smiles. "I am interested on whoever killed my pets. So yeah anyways here is my chapter and hope you all enjoy it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Although the landscape inside the Abyss is awe inspiring, the city was also a something that will make people drool. The city itself reminded Lucarius of Rome meets modern city. It had buildings that reached through the sky, just like modern buildings however the details that were etched into the buildings were clearly Roman like arts. ''I wonder how many people would die to see this sight. It is just to good.'' thought Lucarius as he absorbed the sight. At this situation he wanted to bring a camera and take pictures. After a long walk inside the city, the trio arrived at a building that loomed over most buildings. There were many people walking out of the people. When they entered inside the building, there was a big line that stretched all the way to the office desk. Lucarius can guess that there were at least 700 people waiting. Although there were many people who weren''t humans, Lucarius did spot humans inside the line, which brought relief to Lucarius. Before he came here, he thought there weren''t many humans. While Lucarius was wondering why the line was so log, suddenly Grayl speaks up "If you are wondering what this line is here for, Most of the people here are either getting permit or certain license, getting citizenship or documents, or turning in bounties or offers that other people request. Usually the lines are longer than this, sometimes it could take days till they get to the front office." Lucarius wondered how exactly long the line was if it took days.After many boring hours later it was finally their turn. Lucarius have never seen a line that could take many hours till they get to the front desk. There was a small person sitting on the desk. The lady was wearing a suit that reminded Lucarius of a flight attendant. Most of the feature looked human like blond hair and thin curvy body, however Lucarius knew she wasn''t human after seeing that the lady had a glowing skin with a butterfly wings three times the size of the body. Not to mention that the lady reached about the hip length compared to Lucarius which made her extremely . Lucarius was amazed by this sight and wanted to ask what race she belonged to. However Grayl spoke up before Lucarius. "I''m here to turn in a bounty and get a citizenship for a person." The lady look up from her desk. As soon as she recognized Grayl''s face, she let playful squeal and showed her beautiful smile."Grayl! it has been so long love! How are you sweaty? How is your adorable sister doing! Also who is that cute boy right beside you? Are you guys together?"Lucarius was not prepared for the sudden outburst, however Grayl quickly shushed the small lady." Its good to see you to Trixana. Before You ask anymore, here is my bounty." said Grayl as he handed a small pouch gingerly into the lady''s hand. The lady,Trixana, opened the pouch and found two right ears and two pairs of long front teeth. She quickly brought something out from under her desk. The object was triangular board with a crystal ball in each corner. It had strange inscription engraved to the side of the board. In the middle of the hole, there was a hole and on the edge also were inscriptions. Trixana put the content of the pouch into the the middle of the board. Suddenly she whispered strange language and the bard began to glow. The crystal ball suddenly turned green and then a portrait was shown inside the crystal balls.The portrait were the ratmans that attacked Lucarius. He recognized the detail on their face. The lady was shocked and stared at. "You killed the Scrooge brothers? How? When? Where? When?" Grayl just let out a weary smile. "It was hard tracking them down. It took us many weeks to find them since they always seem to hide their scents and trails. It wasn''t until we reached the elitri forest did we find out that their lair was inside a cave." Trixana nodded her head. She was clearly impressed that they managed to take town a notorious criminal. She grabbed a pouch inside the desk and wrote a number. Then suddenly, the pouch began to fill up. Trixana quickly handed the pouch to Grayl who nodded in approval before accepting the pouch.Then suddenly Grayl turned serious and shoved Lucarius to the front. "We also found him inside the lair. Unlike the usual behavior of killing victims and dragging away their bodies and take out whatever they find valuable, this time they kept him alive. Mia rescued him in time. I want to know why they kept him alive, so can you do me a favor and can you find out who he is for me?" Trixana pondered for a moment then called out to someone to take her spot. Then from afar, another person took her spot and a door opened from the side from the side of the desk. Grayl entered, then Mia,and Lucarius, who is oblivious to what is happening, followed in. They followed Trixana down to a corridor and into a room. The room had strange circles like the one witches from his world use. inside the middle of the circle, there was a hole. "Please enter the circle" said Trixana. Although Lucarius felt skeptical, he complied. As he entered the circle, she suddenly handed him a basket. "Inside the basket was a ceremonial knife. "Please put all of you clothes into the basket and then proceed on by cutting a small portion of your wrist so that your blood may flow out. When he was about to cut himself, he hesitated. He surely did not want to cut himself. He continued this cycle of hesitating and about to cut himself. On the fifteen times, Suddenly Grayl suddenly dashed to Lucarius and clawed his arm. Lucarius howled out in pain and surprise. Then he glared at Grayl while Grayl returned beside Trixana and Mia, not looking back.The blood flowed out of Lucarius and Lucarius quickly poured some of his blood into the hole. As soon as the blood entered the hole, the circle began to light up in bright red. If one did not know what was going on, someone would have thought this could have been a sinister ritual. Then from Lucarius, a light came out from his chest. The light formed a panel that quickly grew until it was big enough for everyone to see. On the panel it showed a portrait of Lucarius with letters that began to slowly form. Beside Lucarius''s portrait showed a list of things.

Everyone in the room suddenly went dead quiet. for three minutes no one let out a single sound. Unaware of the situation, Lucarius looked at them nervously, before speaking up "Um guys? Is everything alright? Why are you all quiet and what is this panel?"Grayl looked at him in shock before speaking up. "You idiot can you not see or is you eyes covered in mud? Beside Grayl, Trixana looked as if she was having a mental breakdown. "An elder god''s champion, and elder god''s champion, an elder god''s champion...." Then suddenly Trixana''s eyes rolled up and suddenly collapsed. "Wait Trixana don''t collapse right there! Ah you are on top of Lucarius'' blood. A person who looked more like an animal rather than a human entered the room. "Chancellor, I have found the one responsible for killing the two villains responsible for abducting and trading body parts of other beings." The chancellor looked very pleased as his smile curved upwards and he sit upright from his chair. "Very good captain. Please inform me of who it was that managed to slay those ungrateful vermin." As you can see I am but a weak and feeble man." The stranger was wearing a tattered clock and hiding his face. The stranger lloked humans but with slitted eyes and scales on his face and hand. Seeing as there was no point of troubling him, Lucarius smiled and helped the man up. "It''s alright old man, just be careful where you are going." The man gave a simple bow before leaving. Suddenly Grayl caught the man''s wrist. Before the man and Lucarius reacted, Grayl bended his arms toward the man''s back. "I suggest you to give back his belonging mister." The man began to sweat and groan due to the pressure. "Belonging? What belonging?" The man protested. Seeing as how the man was not giving up, Grayl applied more pressure. The man yelped and cried "All right all right! Here take it jeez!" The man reached his pocket and pulled out a wallet that belonged to Lucarius. Grayl let his wrist go and quickly grabbed Lucarius'' wallet out of the man''s hand. The man quickly escaped from Grayl''s hand and cursed loudly while massaging his wrist. Before the man left, he glared at Grayl before escaping through the crowd of people. Lucarius was shocked at what happen and was left dumbfounded. Seeing Lucarius standing still staring blankly at Grayl. Grayl looked irritated and threw the wallet at Lucarius. "Be careful whom you trust Lucarius. You should know this. Even infants know not to trust strangers." Lucarius quickly caught his wallet and placed it deeply into his pocket. In his life, he was never pick pocketed like that in his entire life. Before the man dank the vial, something flew towards the old man and shattered the vial. The old man screamed and the figure faced the people that were approaching them. "Give back my money old man!" Shouted Grayl. Behind Grayl, Lucarius was following him. The figure cursed and glared the old man. "I thought you were not being followed." said the figure. The old man paled and got down on his knees and began begging. "Please dear sir. I did not know I was being tailed. I made sure not to be followed and made sure to lose them through the crowd." Before Lucarius and Grayl can do everything, The figure shook his head. Then he plunged his hands into the man''s chest and pulled out his heart. The man, Lucarius, and Grayl was shocked as they have witnessed a murder. The man only let out a small voice "why..." and slumped forward. As they were chasing, the figure pushed people and obstacles towards Lucarius and Grayl hoping to slow them down. It was difficult for them both as they tried to push through. Later on they managed to finnaly corner the figure into a dead end. The figure slowly faced his pursuers. Grayl lifted his arms tiredly "Ok now, hand over the money. It is all over now." panted Grayl. The figure simply only gave them a blood curdling smile "No you simple pest. I believe it is better to leave me be or you will simply regret your decision." Then the figure raised his hood and revealed his face. Grayl suddenly paled as soon as he looked at the figure realizing what it was. "Lucarius I think we should run." The figure had a pale face and was completely bald. it looked human except for the fact it had a big mouth with long razor sharp teeth. The figure gave a hiss before pouncing towards them. They both yelped and moved away from his trajectory line as the figure zoomed past them. "Lucarius that''s a ghoul! Whatever you do do not get close withing two meters!" cried Grayl as he dodged another attack. Where Grayl used to be, the crates behind him were simply cut open. Lucarius quickly took this new information and tried to come up with a plan to counter this being. However before anyone reacted, a flaming ball flew past Lucarius and struck the ghouls chest. The ghoul let out a shriek as his cloth burned up, exposing his naked body. it hissed and faced at the one responsible. There stood Mia with her hand facing towards the ghoul. She let out a sigh. "Brother you are simply clumsy sometimes. How can you chase down someone into a corner where no one is around and underestimate someone." Grayl simply looked down dejected. Grayl only gave a dejected look. Lucarius was shocked at how dangerous the situation really was and how close he was to death if the ghoul went really serious. While he was thinking about how close he was to death, he suddenly got distracted by something that was shining underneath the tattered clock that belonged to the ghoul. He approached it and found the pouch underneath. "Well at least he was foolish enough to leave his belongings." Lucarius quickly passed the money to Mia who gladly accepted it while giving a look of disappointment towards Grayl. Then Lucarius found a shiny object that was beside the money. He grabbed it and examined the small item. It was a ring. The ring gave a weird luster and had weird engraving on it. "Looks like that ghoul left behind some valuable stuff I think." "I gave you a specific order to bring back the money yet you bring me nothing." Before the ghoul can protest the man gets up from his throne and lifts his hands. Suddenly the ghoul starts choking and his eyes become bloodshot. The ghoul starts floating mid air and slowly approach towards the man. "Don''t you see I am a busy man who hates when things don''t go according to plan?" The ghoul was gaping for air and cried out with a raspy voice. "It wasn''t my fault Lord Solomon. *cough *gasp I was chased by three little vermin. One was a little demi-cat who was a pyromancer, the other seemed to be a blood knight, and lastly there was a low human with them." The man suddenly released the tension and the ghoul suddenly dropped down. As the ghoul was gasping for air, suddenly a light flashed in front of the ghoul. Before he realized, he exploded into blood and dropped dead. From the shadows, one of the guards sheathe her swords. The man didn''t flinch as he sat back down on his throne. "Erilose I want you and your men to find these three people that the filth told about. Also while you leave please get rid of that filth. His presence will stink up this room and I want to avoid that." He let out a grin that made the room become sub temperature, even though it was middle of summer. "These new fishes are looking promising. However they should keep their heads down now. There is only one group of people that could mass produce those drugs and they would not be pleased that their activity has been noticed." The man gets up and looks out the window. He stares at the landscape before putting on an inconspicuous clothing and said in a singing voice. "Now it is time to observe my prey." Seeing that Jackson was being frightened, Mia approached Jackson and peeked over his shoulder. Jackson began to shiver "Thi-this is not good. You gu-guys should get out of here and hide before they find you." Mia and Grayl cocked their heads to the side while Lucarius raised an eye brow in confusion. "What is it officer Jackson?" "Yeah Why should we run?" "... what?" all three asked in unison. Jackson slumped down on a chair. His hands were trembling in fear. He gulped before opening his mouth. "Do you know that the council trying to get rid of crimes right? Well there is currently seven groups in the Abyss that the council will never mess around with. In the Abyss there are seven big fishes that rule this place and they are The Seven Emperors. These crime bosses are never to be trifled with yet you three just manage to injure their lackey." The three broke into sweat. Lucarius gulped before letting out a worried laugh "Hey do you think it will be alright if we send them a post card saying we are sorry? Or maybe a present and their belongings?" All three looked at Lucarius as if he said something idiotic. "Oh ok...I''ll just.." then headed to a corner to rethink what is happening. Mia grumbled at Grayl, so that Lucarius can also sit. Then they decided to rotate around where two sit and rest and one wait in the lineup. This cycle went for ten times before it was their turn. Grayl, who was in the lineup cupped his hands and shouted for the two to follow. Than they finally went to the front desk. "welcome to the embassy. What can I do for you?" asked the person at the front desk. The person was wearing a hooded clothing that hid his face into the shadow. Somehow Lucarius did not like this person. "Grayl, not knowing what Lucarius was thinking, simply placed one arm onto the desk and leaning towards the desk. "Good morning, we are looking for a job at the Council." The hooded person went under the desk before reeaching out and grabbing a book. The book looked old and was nearly the size of the desk. He slammed the book down onto the desk and whispered something to the book. then the book suddenly fluttered by itself and went to a random page. suddenly some wording began to light up giving a blue glow. The person read before asking. "There is only few works that are available at the moment. Which one do you choose?" he than pointed towards few choices that they can pick. Grayl simply answered "We are trying out for guard or a soldier. are there spots available?" The hooded person simply nodded before closing the book and writing something onto a form. He than handed to the three. "Please put your capable occupation that is related to military works. Also please put in your name, age, sex, and race down below then sign it down below. When all three of them received the form, Lucarius quickly scanned the paper. ''What is Mf, Fm, and non in gender?'' He simply circled the M but was curious what it could be. The hall was so tall that it could fit a giant and so wide that it could fit two tank across. While Lucarius marveled at the hall and the detail, the hooded man guided to a door. the man put a small key into the keyhole and the door suddenly began to rumble. Then as if the door was but an illusion, it slowly faded away. What waited them on the other side of the door made the trio astound. There stood many candidates for a guard/soldier. many races and many sizes came to get a position for work. Majority of them showed as if they were guaranteed a job as they seemed to slack off. However, almost forty percentage of the people looked serious as they gave off chills and killing intent when the trios got closer. Lucarius scanned the room and shivered when he met the gazes of those who were unleashing killing intent. There were races that Lucarius seen in the lobby in the embassy, and some were races that he had never seen before. Before Lucarius got lost in the crowd, Grayl grabbed him and dragged him to the front of the crowd. While Grayl dragged him form behind, Lucarius bumped into a tall humanoid race with four arms sprouting from his body. The being suddenly pulled out a sword and swung at Lucarius. Lucarius yelped and manage to get under the blade. "Hey, why did you do that? Someone could have got hurt?!" cried Mia. The being glared at Lucarius and Grayl, but when he looked at Mia, he glanced at her from head to toe perversely. "Bitch come over here and I''ll forgive you. Otherwise I''ll cut your friends up little by little and then slit your throat after I''m done" said the being grinning maliciously. Mia, knowing what he will do to her, grimaced and tried to retreat deeper into the crowd. Lucarius and Grayl glared at the being and intercepted his path as he approached closer. The being did not take this happily as he prepared to cut his opponents. Before he could begin swinging, an elf grabbed his arms and put him on a vice grip. The being hissed in discomfort and tried to swing at this man. However, the being suddenly felt as if he couldn''t move and his life was draining from his body. He looked behind the elf and found a small girl with a fluffy pink top hat casting magic on him. The man grinned. "I wouldn''t do that if I were you. You see, your action can lead to a disaster, as everyone start hacking at each other." The being growled at him and let out a snort before releasing his grip of his sword. Seeing as the being will give up, the elf released his hands as the being retreated into the crowd. "That was amazing! Thank you so much for helping us!" Lucarius cried out. The elf gave a warm smile. "No no it is fine. I believe that it is important to help someone who is being a damsel in distress." Lucarius nodded but Grayl stared at the elf and began sweating. Suddenly Lucarius offered his hand. "My name is Lucarius. I am a low Human according to my friend Grayl and Mia over here." The elf nodded and observed Mia. He than gave him a wide grin and shook the hand. "Oh how kind of you. My name is Larulis, Larulis Vendega. I am a wood elf from the shrine of Vondrega. This here is my partner Trixi Golus. She is a gnome as you can see and quite a nifty spell caster." The girl name Trixi puffed her cheeks and looked away. Seeing this, Larulis giggled. Before Lucarius can react, he pulled Lucarius closer. "Oh my your eyes look beautiful as you come closer. Are you single cutey? If you are, do you prefer male by any chance?" Lucarius could not comprehend this and stared blankly at Larulis. Then realizing the situation, began to sweat and pale. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. Luckily Mia interrupted the mood by grabbed Lucarius'' other hand and bringing him closer. "I believe we are quite busy at the moment and we need to meet our... friends. I hope we can meet you later though sir Vendega." Grayl nodded his head rapidly as if it was gonna fall off. Larulis puckered his cheek as if he was pouting. "Aw that is unfortunate. I believe we will meet again though, farewell." All three nodded before dashing into the deeper section of the crowd. As he stared at the trio leaving, he let out a sigh. He then faced Trixi. "Did you confirm that boy''s status?" Trixi nodded slowly. "Yep, looks like he is interesting after all. His eyes aren''t just normal eyes but blessed from a high tier god." Larulis giggled. "I told you we have some interesting people this year." Then they both disappeared into the crowd. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The trios ran for a long time as they try to escape from Larulis. When they thought they were safe, they stopped for a breath of air. When Grayl recovered he faced Lucarius. "You idiot why did you offer his hands like that to a random stranger?" Lucarius just simply rolled his eyes. "Look I am sorry that I happen to bump into a gay elf whom I never met, OK?" Grayl just shook his head. "You idiot do you even know who that was? You are lucky to even be alive." Lucarius raised his eyes in confusion. Mia simply gave him an explanation. "Look the one who you met was Larulis Vega Vendega and Trixi Dric Golus. Larulis is a very known bounty hunter who is notorious for attacking male and slowly killing them. He gained a nickname for his sadistic nature and that is ''the man flayer'' since he loves to collect the skin of his victim. Trixi is his notorious partner as she is known to casting class dark and paralysis magic on her victim in order for them to be immobilize Larulis'' prey. In order for them to not break out out, she drains her victim''s life force until they cannot struggle." Lucarius suddenly became tired and let out a worried sigh. "How come every where I go, There is always trouble waiting around the corner?" Both of them turned and faced Lucarius and shouted. "WE SHOULD BE BLAMING YOU! YOU BRING DISASTER WHEREVER WE GO!" Lucarius looked at them both in disbelief before looking away. Suddenly a small gnome walked towards the stage located at the very front of the crowd. He chants something quickly and suddenly a microphone pops into his hands. The gnome takes a deep breath before continuing. "Thank you everyone for trying out for this interview. I hope many of you will succeed in these tests that are to come. You must remember that many of you may die here today for the sake of enlisting into the army for the council. The council strives to protect its citizens and those who cry out for help. We must be willing to sacrifice our own lives for the greater good." "Now onward to your FUTURE!" cried the gnome as he pulled a lever. [th_084_.gif] Before I give you this chapter, I have couple of news for you all. One is tomorrow, I will write a status report for three races that were introduced (no image yet sadly). I am gonna add a huge list that will be labelled as race list. There will be also characters list and items list that will be added later on for you. An example for item lists are artifacts and other important items that will be introduced into the story. The second news is I recently found an editor who I am talking to at this moment. He said he will contact me if he has time, so hopefully we have better chapters that will be arriving shortly! [th_101_.gif] so anyways that is all the news for you and here is today''s chapter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Underground of the Abyss, Testing grounds) As everyone fell into the deep pit below, Everyone cried out in disbelief as they plunged into the darkness. Everyone around them were screaming the airs out of their lungs. Few of the contestants who luckily had wings, began to slow their descent while few magicians began to cast spells hurriedly, in order to slow their falling. While few of the members began to try to save themselves, majority of the people clinged onto whoever they could find, so that they can desperately save themselves. The trios hurriedly tried to find a way to break their fall. As Lucarius sweeped his surrounding, Mia signaled the other two. She quickly began to chant something , as she closed her eyes to concentrate. Suddenly three leaves, the size of a sled appeared within her hands. Lucarius and Grayl came closer to her so that they can each reach for the leaves. Understanding the situation, people around them started to cling onto her, trying to preserve their lives. Mia screamed as people swarmed her. She had nowhere to go, and the ground quickly approached them. Lucarius and Grayl threw all those people that clinged onto her, while the ground grew closer and closer towards them. Suddenly Grayl grabbed his short sword from his back and began hacking the remaining people. Seeing that a threat approached them, they yelped and released her. This gave them enough time to grab one of the leaves before they crashed towards the ground. They used the leaves as parachute and deescended slowly towards the ground. Lucarius sighed in relief thinking it was over. Suddenly out of nowhere, a sword came flying towards Lucarius. Mia and Grayl screamed as the sword flew closer to Lucarius, only to fly past him. Lucarius looked at the two and gave them a nervous grin. However when he looked up. the sword manage to destroy his parachute. The only thing Lucarius did was stare in disbelief as he began plunging once more towards the ground. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (The dark bottom of the testing ground) Lucarius was back into the void inside his mind. He thought that he finnaly died after exhausting all his luck to survive this far. He let out a sigh and began reflecting on how he lived his life. As he was reflecting, an image popped in front of him, startling him, as he did not expect something to pop out of thin air. It showed an image of his life that he was thinking about. "Marvelous is it not?" said someone behind him. Lucarius quickly faced towards the direction of the voice. There stood a man. The man looked threatening as he was cloaked with a black cape and a hood that covered most of his face. He stood taller than Lucarius, around two meters, no around three. Although he looked threatening, for some crazy reason, Lucarius felt comfortable around this man. "Pardon me but who are you?" questioned Lucarius. The man looked surprised as if he forgot the most important thing and revealed his teeth. He gave him a smile and gave a gentleman-like bow. "Oh dear me, a pleasure to meet you Lucarius. You see I always wanted to meet you." Suddenly he looked at his watch and scowled. The man let out a sigh and patted Lucarius'' shoulder. "I am sorry Lucarius. Our times is up here, sadly. As for my name, you will find out sooner than later." Before he could question the man, his consciousness slowly returned to reality. Lucarius was back into reality. His eyes were facing towards the sky. His body ached in pain and he was clearly sure that he broke more than three ribs. As he got up he let out a groan and noticed his surrounding. He was surrounded by corpses. These corpses were those who were unfortunate to survive the fall. He felt something soft and wet beneath him. He looked and found a corpse of a woman. The corpse was barely recognizable, as most parts were splattered all across the floor. Lucarius could not handle the sight and let out all of the content from his stomach. He did not stop as the smell of death was unavoidable. Suddenly he heard a shout from the distance. He tried to locate the sound and found Mia and Grayl dashing towards him. Lucarius gave them a weak smile, even though the current form he was in was embarrassing to see. "I see you all managed to make it. I-" Before he finished, Mia pounced towards him, knocking him back towards the bloody ground. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Lucarius yelped as he felt the sharp pain from his chest. Knowing that he was injured, Grayl grabbed Mia by the back of her neck and yanked her away from the injured Lucarius. "Good to see your alive, looks like you are quite the lucky man." said Grayl as he gave Lucarius a wide grin. Lucarius smiled back, even though his whole body was in pain. Mia let out a sniffle before speaking up. "*sniff* Sorry Lucarius, it was all my fault. *sniff *sniff* If I wasn''t so useless, you would''t have nearly died like that." Suddenly she let her emotions go as she cried in front of Lucarius. Lucarius have never had a grilfrind nor have he interacted with the opposite gender. So when Mia started to cry, Lucarius began to panic and tried his best to calm her down. "Um...Mia, it''s fine...Your still fine and I''m still fine so it''s ok...right?" Lucarius started petting her, hoping that it will ease her somewhat. She managed to control herself and her wailing died down. Seeing this from the side, Grayl let out a sigh. Somehow he looked annoyed. He grabbed something from his pouch. What he was carrying was a ring. Grayl inserted the ring then brought out a mysterious vial. Then he offered the vial to Lucarius. "Drink. It will heal your wounds." said Grayl simply, while passing it to Lucarius. Lucarius accepted the strange vial. The liquid was milky and was bright red. He slowly poured the content into his mouth. When he tasted it however, he felt like throwing up the content. It tasted bitter and something very strong. After recovering from the shocking taste, Lucarius took another sip. From his wounds, steam arose. Later his skin began to bubble as if it was some sort of stew. The scene looked very grotesque. It took all of Lucarius'' courage, in order to not throw up. Slowly the bubbling began to subside and his skin become anew. Lucarius felt as if he was born again. His skin was smooth and his wounds wer as if it was never there. Although he felt some phantom pain when his bones were broken, he knew that his bones were repaired. Grayl nodded in astonishment before saying. "You owe me another health potion after this." Lucarius was about to thank Grayl but was interrupted as the announcer from before slowly descended toward the remanding competitors. At first it looked like he was alone but soon noticed that there were three people beside him. The announcer and the people beside him scanned the room, looking at the remainding competitors. Than the announcer spoke up. "Congratulation for surviving your first trial. I could see that almost half of our competitors did not make it. Their bodies will be sent to their relatives." Then with a snap of his fingers, the body simply vanished. Mia gasped and whispered to her partners. "That is a high class light magic, teleport. Not only that, he can teleport object wherever he wants!" Lucarius stared at the anouncer. Just how powerful is that small old man? "For those who have survived, we will commence the second trial. The second Trial will be passed to your examiner, Varen Von Burnius." Everyone gasped when a tall man with ebony skin apeared in front of the anouncer. This man''s muscle was quite defined and was seen through his uniform. He had three horns protruding out of his head. There was also visible dark tail that looked rather scaly and a pair of what seems to be bat wings. His eyes looked as if Lucarius was seeing an endless void, as if it was purely made from darkness. The examiner looked at the surviving competitors. "I thank you for all of you to come here and congratulate your first trial. Your second trial relates to your endurance and strength." The man suddenly jumped down. "Now I want everyone to follow me. Make sure you do not fall behind as you will lose your way from here." Then he started to jog towards the entrance of a tunnel. Lucarius and the rest of the competitors began to follow. The trios wondered what kind of obstacle this trial had. [th_096_K.gif] Chapter 12: Into the darkness Hello everyone and welcome to my story!!!! [th_059_.gif] I am sorry for not uploading anything on Saturday when I promised that I will upload two race status and what-not. [th_093.gif] Truthfully I had family matter and had to postpone it and when I told my brother about creating a race status chart, he said add pictures with it so that everyone cannot be confused. So it has been delayed, but no worries as I will upload sometime this week. Sometime this week, I will upload two races (low humans and ratmans), coloured version of Lucarius and Conner, and possibly introduce you to a character that will be introduced in arc three or four. "Aion Trinity" So here is today''s chappy,!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Somewhere in the Abyss, Embassy, Training ground) The surviving members followed Varen deep into the tunnel. As they followed, the light began to diminish and soon there were inside the darkness. Many members grumbled, as there was no traces of light. Lucarius began to grumble as he slowed down in order for him to get bearings. Suddenly behind the group there was a bone chilling scream. The scream was followed with a frightening roar. Everyone turned towards the sound however, the darkness covered whatever belonged to the roar. One of the magicians casts a spell and illuminated the surrounding area. Behind them, there were creatures feasting upon what seemed to be an unfortunate elf. Her corpse were being ripped open by creatures that stood two meters in height. the skins were pale and wrinkled. It had no visible sign of eyes anywhere, instead it had two slits at the very front of face that seemed as if it was a nose. It looked as if it had a dome shape skull. They had arms that were not portioned to the rest of the bodies as their arms were bulking in mass. Most of them had potbellies that seemed as if they were pregnant. When the group seen the creature everyone paled and slowly turned around. As they slowly tried to escape from the beasts, one of the mage suddenly tripped on his robe and fell. Suddenly the beast halted and slowly faced the group. One of the warriors screamed "Run!!!!" and everyone bolted towards the opposite side of the creatures. Noticing that their preys were fleeing, the creatures gave a blood-curdling roar and pursued after them. Despite their awkward way they run, the creatures soon caught up to the group. It was gaining speed upon two unfortunate magicians. One could see that the two female magicians were siblings as they both have similar faces. Suddenly the girl on the left pushed the girl on the right. Not expecting being pushed by her own sister, she did not react in time as she fell onto the cold floor. As she was getting up, one of the beast lunged towards her and with it''s hands, it crushed the her legs. The girl let out a cry of pain but it did not last long as the beast suddenly opened its enormous jaws and crushed her skull. Lucarius did not believe what just happened but did not stop running. He knew that the beasts were faster than them and was used to pursuing their prey. He quickly caught up to Mia and Grayl. ''What are those things?" cried Lucarius while panting. Grayl who looked exhausted cried out, "I am not sure, but from the looks of it, it seems we ran into a pack of Draegers. They live in underground caves and hunt in small packs. They usually rely on their nose and ears to hunt their preys as they do not have any eyes. To be unfortunate enough to run into them..*tsk" Grayl clicked his tongue in annoyance. Draegers are very powerful creatures. Many adventurers and miners do whatever they can to avoid entering their territories. While running they suddenly hear a girlish scream. Lucarius and Grayl turned back and faced towards the sound. A human who stood at least 1.7 meter tall shoved Mia towards the ground. The man sneered towards Mia as he gained speed. Grayl suddenly roared and lunged towards the man, knocking him towards the ground. The man did not expect Grayl to lunge at him and he felt the air escape from his lung. As soon as he was knocked down, Grayl unsheathed his sword and stabbed the man''s knee, who let out a scream. Lucarius rushed towards Mia and grabbed her by the arm. Suddenly one of the Draeger loomed over him. He was about to maul Lucarius but Lucarius was quicker. He manage to avoid getting his head crushed by the beast and quickly slinged Mia over his shoulders. before the beast launched another strike, Grayl arrived in time to prod through the nose. The Draeger howled in pain and covered it''s nose with both of it''s massive hands. Lucarius and Graly quickly took this opportunity to dash away from the creature and pass by the man. "Hey please don''t leave me behind!" cried out the man as they passed by. Before he could cry out the Draeger, recovered from the pain, lunged towards the man and bit through his armour and into his chest. He screamed in pain and tried to pry the beast''s jaw. This soon attracted nearby Draegers toward the sound and the man became no more. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Lucarius felt like throeing up at the mangled bodies all around him. He wanted to escape from this tunnel as the Draegers pursued the remaining survivors. The smell of blood and piss filled the air around them and the sound of screaming of despair and the bones of people being crunched can be heard al around the dark tunnel. When the trios though they were over, they soon found a glimpse of light at the very end of the tunnel. The trios shrieks in joy as they soon realized that the finish line was close to them. With the last bits of strength they have, the trios gave a mad dash towards the finish line. Then suddenly the light engulfed them as they reached outside of the tunnel. Soon the remaining survivors arrived and were panting as never seen before. The final person to arrive was a female that Lucarius realized. It was the magician that shoved her sister towards the ground. The female was at the very edge of the tunnel and she slowed down thinking it was all over when a Draeger suddenly pounced on top of her. The girl did not react in time as the Draeger dragged her towards the dark tunnel while she screamed. Her scream was followed by bones being crushed and then it became silent. Lucarius stared down at the tunnel then faced towards the sun. He had never felt more grateful toward the sun. He woke up in his trance as Mia suddenly intterupted. "Um Lucarius, I am grateful for saving me, but can you put me down?" Lucarius suddenly realized that he was still carrying Mia and blushed. He quickly released her and placed her soflty towards the ground. When Lucarius faced Mia, she was blushing. Suddenly she leaned closer to Lucarius and pecked on his cheek. "Thank you" she said softly and quickly faced towards her brother. Grayl glared towards Lucarius who looked dumbfounded. He was shaken back to reality when Varen, who patiently waited for the surviving members, suddenly gave an announcement. "Congratulation everyone. You have all passed your second trial." He briefly looked at the remaining survivors. "It looks like many of you survived compared to last time. For that, I applaud you." Suddenly a person appeared behind him. The newcomer was a female that made most of the surviving males drool. She stood taller than Varen. her face was like a whit porcelain doll. Her hairs were white and had two pigtails. If Lucarius was in Earth, He could imagine everyone rushing towards her, expecting a date or an autograph. Varen faced towards the female and let out a smile. The female simply stood there and looked at the remaining contestnats before her. She suddenly furrowed her eyes and faced Varen "How come there is more competitors this year? There should not be this many." Varen simply nodded and said. "It is because this year seems to have many promising younglings my love." Then Varen blew a kiss towards her. The female ignored him and only gave a smile. The smile somewhat made Lucarius and the rest shiver in fear. "Good, because I will drop more than half of today''s contestants." Then she walked closer to the the group. the group somehow felt danger as they shifted away from her. The female lifted her hands and clicked her fingers. All of a sudden, weapons simply fell down from the sky and landed beside the remaining people. Everyone was surprised at the sudden amounts of weapons that were scattered on the ground. "Good afternoon everyone. My name is Silia Albrekston. I will be your third and final examiner." She than pointed towards the ground. "I want all of you to pick up any weapons that match you." The surviving members complied. Lucarius pondered at what he should pick up. He had never wielded a weapon before. He grabbed a short sword from a pile. It felt heavy but compared to the rest of the weapon, it was lighter. Seeing as most people grabbed their prefered choice of weapon Silia said something that made everyone cringe. "Ok now fight among-st yourself." CRA: Chronicles of the rift and abyss Chapter 13: Trial by Combat Hello Everyone and welcome back to CRA!!!! It has been very long and I am still making portfolio. Before I begin , I just want to tell you all about the future of CRA. CRA is going to be my biggest project as the world of CRA is what is going to be my backstory for most of the story that I write. The CRA that I write is about Lucarius who will become the founder of the Immortalis and become the guardias of the plane of existence that Lucarius stays on. other future champions such as the founders of the council (future book [before Lucarius]), Jaelios the tyrant beast (future book), The wandering lost soul (future book), and more will be also related to CRA. Later when I am done bachelor of animation, I wish to make animation shorts for each characters such as Lucarius and the rest of team origin, handful of immortalis'' back story and more. If all goes well, I might do more. Anyways this is my future plans and right now this is still in the far future. It was dead quiet as no one knew if she was being serious or just joking. For three minutes no one moved and stared at her. Silia raised her brows. "Is no one understanding my words? I said fight." Suddenly one contestant swung his sword at Mia. She yelped and managed to avoid by hair breadth as it whizzed pass her and struck a insect humanoid being straight into it''s chest. The insect humanoid screeched and hissed as it broke into it''s carapace . It started to ooze black liquid from the wound. As if on cue, everyone around the arena turned on each other. The scene inside the arena was hellish as blood sprayed everywhere followed by screams and bones beings broken. Occasionally explosions ran across the arena caused by mage firing their most destructive magics onto their opponents. Lucarius was frightened at this scene and avoided people that were close to him. As he was running away from the fight suddenly he tripped over a body laying on the ground. without looking he quickly regained his balance and tried to ran. Suddenly from the crowd Mia cried out. "Lucarius, Grayl on me!" Lucarius dashed towards the noise. As he got closer, Mia was torching anyone that got near her with her pyromancy. Whenever anyone got too close, she quickly dosed them with fire like a flamethrower. From the far side, Grayl was mowing down anyone who got on his way. As he got closer, Grayl was hacking right and left. Every time he swings, blood sprayed everywhere. Grayl''s body was covered in so much gore that i[b]t looked like a scene that could be only seen in a horror movie in Earth. As soon as he approached Mia and Grayl he let out a toothy grin that nearly made Lucarius faint from horror. Mia quickly surveyed the area. "Looks like the party is focusing on us more." Lucarius and Grayl raised their heads and faced the crowds. It seemed that many people has began targeting mages and other support units in order to ease the problems. "If they want to go through my sister than they have to get through me first." Than he let out a roar and charged into the crowd. "Wait you buffoon, come back!" cried Mia, but Grayl was already swinging his sword. Mia grumbled and began supporting Grayl by flinging fireballs into Grayl''s direction. "Lucarius I want you to support me. If anyone comes closer to me I want you defend." Lucarius did not have enough time to answer as one managed to go through Grayl and charged at Mia. Lucarius yelped and quickly swung his sword randomly. The man did not expect it and couldn''t dodge the attack in time. The sword quickly sink into the man''s stomach. The graze caused Mia to lose her focus and the fire ball exploded from her hands. She let out of scream as the fire quickly spread through her body. Grayl turned around after hearing her scream. "Mia!!!" He wanted to fly to her side but the crowd in front did not give him time as they applied more pressure towards Grayl. Lucarius quickly ran towards Mia''s side. Mia was writhing in pain as the fire spread faster than before. Before the fire engulfed her, Lucarius took out his clothe and quickly wrapped around her arms. The fire was quickly extinguished but the battle was far from over. Lucarius called out to Grayl. "Grayl! We are retreating. Fall back now!" Grayl mustered all his strength and let out a roar. He then shoved everyone that was on him to the grounds. This bought him enough time to arrive beside Lucarius. Behind Grayl, the crowd began to get up and chase after them. Seeing that they don''t have enough time, Lucarius grabbed Mia and carried her in a princess carry. Making sure she wouldn''t fall, Lucarius and Grayl ran towards the edge of the arena. As if it was irony, Lucarius tripped over another body and his face planted onto the ground. He tried to regain his footing but was quickly confronted by another contestant. the contestant gave a smug look before swinging down towards him. "Oh no you don''t!" cried out Grayl, and swung his sword. It chopped the contestant''s hands clean off to the person''s dismay. Grayl did not give the person a time to decide as he quickly punched the being straight into its face. This managed to knock the man unconscious as he flew a meter away from the trios. Grayl quickly pulled up Lucarius and Mia and continued running away from the crowd chasing after them. By now all ready half of the contestants were strewn all over the floor. After being chased across the arena, the trios were cornered. Lucarius and Grayl faced their pursuers. They had nowhere to go. As if they were a predator finnaly hunted a prey, they let out a villainous smile. One of the contestant shouted at the trio. "Hand over the bitch and we will make sure you end painlessly!" The others around her laughed out loud. Grayl growled and spat at the ground. "Over my dead body, you skank!" The woman did not like being called a skank and let out a cry before charging with the rest of the crowd. Lucarius and Mia stares at Grayl blankly as Grayl appreciates at his work. Suddenly a huge ball of light exploded into the sky. Everyone inside the arena halted and stared at the direction it was shot. Silia clapped her hands together. "The time is up! Looks like we have many recruits than usual. I congratulate you all for making it this far. For now you can all rest." All the remaining contestants suddenly dropped down from fatigue. However before the trios can celebrate, a woman was bee-lining towards them. It was the woman that shouted at the trios. "Oy woman, it''s over." said Grayl tiredly. The woman seemed to not care and brandish her daggers hidden behind her trousers. He tried to escape but was too slow. Lucarius and Mia looked in horror and disbelief as the blade sank into Grayl''s side. The woman tried to follow up with a slash to his throat but was suddenly stopped by one of the examiners. "Let go of me you bastards! Do know who I really am?!" shrieked the woman hysterically as she was dragged away from the arena. Silia rushed towards the trio with healers following right behind her. Grayl was groaning in pain as Silia ordered the healers to treat his wounds. While being treated , he looked at Lucarius and Mia. He gave a toothy grin and chuckled. "Looks like I deserved that." Grayl said in a raspy voice. One of the Healers covered Grayl''s mouth. "You should stop talking at the moment. That woman managed to puncture your lungs. You should save your breadth and wait till you recover." Grayl looked as his companions before nodding. He then closed his eyes and waited for the healers to do there jobs. While Lucarius was worried for Grayl, he looked at the healers in awe. The type of wound that was inflicted on Grayl would have been a serious injury that may need surgery. Yet the healers were regenerating the tissues and mending the wounds as if it was nothing. One could see that these healers were higher level than average. After waiting for an hour, Grayl was finally healed. Mia rushed towards her brother and hugged her brother. She was afraid that she would lose him. Lucarius joined them after Mia seemed to calm down. Lucarius stared at the place that he was injured. Grayl chuckled. "Why are you staring at me intently? Are you interested in me?" Hearing this, Lucarius blushed and turned away. Someone slowly approached them which made the trio turned towards the person. Silia was staring at them as if she was very interested. "I was impressed by your spectacular performance. Might I know your name?" Lucarius stared at her intently in order to figure what she may be thinking. Grayl smiled at her and introduced her to his companions while Mia and Lucarius stayed quiet. "My name is Grayl. I do not have a surname and was born as a commoner. This is my sister Mia, and lastly a friend of mine named Lucarius." Silia looked interested at both Mia and Grayl but she did not even glance at Lucarius. Everyone could see she did not care for Lucarius at all. Silia smiled at Grayl. "Grayl an Mia, both of you stood out compared to majority of today''s contestants. Would you like to serve under me? I do think both of you will have many advantage joining under my banner compared to most of the ''high'' and ''important'' figures." Lucarius and Mia both knew what she really wanted. She wanted the siblings in order to use them rather than nurture their strength. Mia looked at Grayl and pleaded Grayl with her eyes. For some reason she did not like Silia and did not want to be restricted too much to authority. As if understanding what Mia wanted Grayl politely declined Silia''s offer. We finally joined the Council! Our life is not in danger!" The event right now is very similar to something right now, but the difference between the amount of people and respect is something vastly different. Finally the announcer called Lucarius. "I welcome Lucarius Trinity, who is a low human, to The Council." As Lucarius went up, he noticed Mia and Grayl were silently cheering. As he was approaching he also noticed Larulis and Trixi. It seemed that they both managed to make it. When Lucarius and Larulis'' eyes met, Larulis grinned and blew him a kiss. Lucarius shuddered but still managed to proceed toward the front. In front of the podium stood a male, normal human. He has a tanned skin with a hair that was brownish yellow. He seemed athletic despite being one of the ambassador for the human race. He wore a suit that seemed to be in Earth. To top it off, he wore a top hat that seemed quite silly for him. The man gave Lucarius a welcoming smile. He than proceed to shake his hands. Then the man offered his attire. Lucarius gracefully accepted the attire and quickly stepped away from the platform and quickly reformed in lines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (an hour later) The ceremony was finally over. many people were either heading towards their friends and family or towards the banquet that the council prepared. Lucarius however stared into the distance. He truly missed his friends and family back home. He wished he could return home and tell this news. While he was dazing off into the distance, Mia and Grayl approached Lucarius. "Where are you staring at Lucarius?" asked Mia. At this Lucarius lost his thought and focused on his new friends. "Nothing really...it''s just...I want to see my family." Mia and Grayl stared at Lucarius then at each other. Grayl scratched his head. "You know you can use the portal gate located at the center of the city. It connects to everywhere it can find as long as no one manage to somehow intercept the signal." At this Lucarius suddenly became excited. "Really? Is this true? Your not lying right?" said Lucarius while grabbing Grayl''s hand. Grayl was surprised but soon regained himself. "Of course you can! Here I''ll guide you to the nearest gate." Grayl let out a genuine happy smile for his friend. The joyful atmosphere was disturbed however, when a man slowly approached the trio. Lucarius faced the approaching man and recognized that the man was the same human that stood at the front of the podium. The man smiled. "Your name was Lucarius is it? I am here to talk to you, if you are willing." Lucarius faced the man and extended his hand towards the man. "Hello there sir, my name is indeed Lucarius. And who am I talking to?" asked Lucarius. The man looked at the hand and extended his own and shook it. "Glad to meet you. The name is Brian Deller. I am a low Human just as you." Lucarius and his friend was surprised. According to Grayl, it was hard to see a low human since they were considered very weak compared to the majority of the other races. Low humans had hard time getting a job in the abyss and the fact that he was working for the council shocked them more. "Lucarius, I am here to offer a job for you and your friends. I believe that deep inside of you, you have huge potential. Therefore I want to assign you to an officer training camp so that you may become a respectable man that works for me." Lucarius was surprised that this man is willing to offer a high position job just for him and his friends. Just when he was about to answer, Mia suddenly stepped in front of him. "We are very sorry Sir Deller, but we already denied Silia''s offer and we can only deny-" Brian suddenly interrupted. "Are you sure you would cancel this generous gifts? Do remember that I want you people because of your potential to help those around you and not milk you of your skills and whatnot." Yet this man was willing to offer a great amount of money to the trio, it was a very tempting offer indeed. Lucarius was very pleased with the offer but still felt strange. He felt as if the man was hiding something. Mia and Grayl were estimating on what they can do with that sort of money when Lucarius interrupted the mood. "May ask a question, sir?" Lucarius asked. Brian stared at him and gave a smile. "Sure I am willing?" Lucarius nodded and continued. "Why are you willing to give us this offer. Although the offer is very generous, it looks as if you have a hidden agenda that relates with us." The man was quiet for a second before smiling warmly. "I am just here to give you an offer since you belong to the same race. It is quite lonely here, not many low human stays inside the Abyss. Those that do usually gets swallowed up by those with great powers." Lucarius tried observing Brian for a moment but couldn''t see anything suspicious. "Alright then, when do we begin?" Brian clapped his hands together. "Excellent choice my boy, I will see you all tomorrow. You can ask the front to be addressed to my room and I will send you to the training camp tomorrow." Before Brian left, he handed out a ring to each of them. "This ring here, is an inter spatial ring. Inside there is your early check for this month." Then he headed towards the banquet. As soon as he handed the inter spatial ring, Mia and Grayl both gawked at the item. Then they both hurriedly looked inside and squealed in joy. Mia hugged Lucarius and hoped around in joy. "We are rich Lucarius, by the gods we are RICH!" beside Lucarius Grayl laughed "With this money I can buy a new sword. In fact i can buy a whole Armour and better house, somewhere near the capital!" While the two of them were celebrating, Lucarius looked inside also. Inside, Police officers were trying to take down an aligator man that was rampaging inside. Already many officers were injured and some were not moving. Among the officer, Jackson was still standing, he and a couple of officers were still facing against the beast. The alligator man however did not have a single scratch on him. The alligator man''s snout was already covered in blood from the fallen members that became victims to his teeth. The alligator man grinned. "Here bunny, come to this uncle. I promise that it will be painless." Jackson wasn''t in a good condition and one could see that he was covered in wounds. He was bleeding everywhere and was also dizzy due to the lack of blood. He grimaced. "I can''t believe an S rank criminal like you is inside the capital." The alligator man that was fighting Jackson was called JaarChomp the ''Chomper'' He was a notorious criminal that is known for devouring his victims whole and even known for cannibalizing his own kind. Many know that JaarChomp works with one of the ''Seven tyrants'' named ''Rage Angel'', an archangel that was banished and became an XX rank criminal. While Jaarchomp favors to bite on his victims, he has a gigantic cleaver made from an onyx dragon''s jaw and bear traps as his secondary. Jackson was cornered. He knew he cannot face this overpowering thug on his own. At the most, he had to warn the trio before JaarChomp tracked them. He did not have enough time however, as Jaarchomp lunged towards Jackson without making him realize he was there. Jackson barely dodged it in time and prepared a counter attack. Suddenly he was hit by a sharp object towards the side. It appeared that JaarChomp was aware that Jackson will dodge it and aimed his cleaver where he would be. Jackson couldn''t block it and was sent flying into a wall, caving it in. Blood spurted from his mouth and he fell down onto the cold floor. Too much blood left his body, he couldn''t move as the impact caused his bone to break. The last thing he seen was the hulking figure of JaarChomp slowly approaching him while he retrieves his cleaver. He is a womanizer and had affairs with many females in his class (except his professor). Grayl = A demi-human, who is 21 years old and stand 178 cm tall. When Grayl was little, he watched his tribe die due to an AA class criminals (at that time) ran wild and killed them for their organs. Luckily ''The council'' dispatched their soldiers and managed to wipe out most of the criminals however, one escaped. Even though they saved Grayl and his little sister Mia, they were the only one left from his tribe. At that time a soldier adopted them. His name was Jackson. Jackson took care of them until they grew under his care. His dream is to join ''The Council'' and exact his revenge on the surviving criminal. Mia = A demi-human, who is 17 years old and stand 159 cm tall. Her race is the same as Grayl. The only thing she remembers from her childhood was her family and her brother. She does not remember of the event of what happened to her tribe as she was still an infant. When she became 12 years old, she found that she had an aptitude to pyromancy. With this ability she quickly embraced on her study to get stronger to protect those around her until the day her fire becomes extinguished. Not much known about his past other than the fact that when he was 58 years old, he killed his drunkard father and strewn him up on the balcony of his house. Before he became a sheriff, he was a soldier that worked for ''The Council''. One day his platoon intercepted a signal and quickly ambushed a team of AA criminals that terrorized a tribe. They were not fast enough which made Jackson felt guilty. In return, he adopted Mia and Grayl in order to make up for the tribe. ''The Council'' promoted him to Captain of the guard and ''The Council'' gave him a platoon to command. 5 years later, his platoon was ambushed by a assasins sent by one of the ''Seven Tyrants''. He was the only survivor and he mourned for his fellow companions. He try to exact his revenge but was stopped by ''The Council''. To make it worse, ''The Council'' flogged him and treated him as a criminal without him knowing. This angered him and found that ''The Council'' was truly hiding a deep secret and left. After he quietly settled down and soon married a friend of his. He later got a job at the police station and became sheriff. Even though it is late. :grin: So as you can tell, I am starting to use deviantart rather than imgur since I did not want people to use copyright, even though I don''t really care. Although it will be hard I will try to keep with the quota of 1 per week and as a bonus 1 art per 2 weeks. And one last thing. The cover/logo is finally made. I decided on this logo since it somewhat represents what is to come. The portal/rift is the represent of the gate while the crystal will be revealed some time in the future. THw cover will change as time progresses but will still use the crystal and portal design. Anyways here is the chapter!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Inside the capital) The trio arrived at one of the gates that leads to the other worlds. The gates stood twenty meter high and twenty meter in length. the gate itself was a circle with it''s outer shell decorated with rare metals and gems. There were stairs leading towards the gate and to top it off it was covered with red and purple carpet that gave the vibe of royalty. Lucarius was studying this strange artifact when Grayl cut in. "Isn''t it magnificent?" beamed Grayl, while observing the gate himself. "Many people tried studying this artifact but it is so vast and no one has managed to scratch the surface." Lucarius nodded. He understood how ancient this artifact is just by seeing it. The mystery that it holds is tremendous. The details and all the way down to the structure is magnificent. As the trios approached the gate, a a woman with wing like arms,that was inside a booth, stopped them. "Sir I believe you have to pay the toll before entering the gate." chirped the young lady. Lucarius observed the board that was placed beside the toll booth. There were signs that Lucarius cannot decrypt. Instead of waiting for all day, Lucarius left Mia and Grayl to explain. Mia noticed Lucarius waiting for explanation and simply went right into it. "She wants you to pay three credits for the toll fee for travel. Is that fine with you?" asked Mia simply. Usually three credits is still quite a big amount of money for those who does not work for the council however, this was not for Lucarius. No that he finaaly arrives back home does he feel safe. In the Abyss, he was chased again and again. Lucarius quickly ckecks his watch. He was surprised to see that the time have not changed. Although he couldn''t see their face, the sibling felt lonely when he left. Although they know that he will be back soon, they still felt like a hole has been left out. In the short moment that the three spent together, they formed a quick bond while trying to survive. Seeing that Lucarius went back home, the two left the place and decided to head home. Before they arrived at their house, Mia and Grayl quickly made a slight detour and arrived at the market square. There they quickly bought some groceries before heading home.
