《Orange you glad to see this berry app(l)e-aling novel, it might even be pear-fect.》 | Chapter 1 | Special Edition| Frank was a watermelon, ready but unwilling to be bought. This was queer, as for the watermelons the sensation of being sold like an item and cut with long, sharp silver items. Then being served on a plate, with humans looking at you with a ravenous expression, and then being stabbed in special places by a mini, silver pitchfork, then being pushed into a mysterious dark hole and chopped up into little pieces. To watermelons, this was not a scary thing. In fact, for them, this was quite like a coming-of-age ceremony. Frank was rather hated by his fellow watermelons. However, they could do nothing about it for Frank didn''t have the attitude but he had the looks. Every human who passed the fruit section looked at Frank with a shocked expression. His roundness was a perfect circle, and his stripes were all symmetrical with them being the perfect green to fit his perfect body shape. Although Frank was one of the best, if not the best watermelon in the country... no, the continent... forget it the WORLD. Nobody bought him, this was for one reason and one reason only. The ''Special Edition'' tag, this might''ve not meant much for other shops.Love what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on. However, for this shop, the ''Special Edition'' tag means something different. As this watermelon''s price was a whopping $42069. This was quite a dumb decision on the shopkeeper''s part, one might say. The mindset of the shopkeeper was different, that it was. They thought with this watermelon looking so succulent but expensive. People who shop here are ought to tell their friends (if they have any) and family. Which causes a chain reaction that all falls upon this shop, as it was getting free advertising. And even if the watermelon doesn''t sell. The shopkeeper could just eat it! The shopkeeper was entirely right! Business was booming and money was flowing straight into his pockets. But enough about him, let''s get back to get our mc, Frank. Frank was minding his own business, humming a strange tune at a frequency only watermelons could hear. In the corner of his watermelon eyes, he saw a strange human in a tuxedo strutting, he had a white moustache that Frank for some reason wanted to cut off. He walked to Frank... and picked him up. ''NOOOO'' Frank screamed in his watermelon voice. This wealthy but obnoxious looking man was going to eat Frank. Frank struggled, but nothing happened. Because he was a watermelon. He cursed the watermelon god for making him something he didn''t want to be! Now his already short life which consisted of approximately 85 days was about to end! He was put on the counter and bought like an item. At the wealthy man''s house, he was put on a diamond-studded plate and was about to be cut. For watermelons when cut their consciousness goes into all of the pieces, so they feel the pain of all of the watermelons together. Other watermelons might love this pain, however, for Frank, this pain was unbearable. The feeling of his ''flesh'' being cut and ''blood'' spurting out was horrid. Frank was scared, his mind racing of what he could to prevent this giant disaster, but he realized there was nothing he could do he was but a helpless watermelon. He was lifted by the mini pitchfork then *plop* into the mysterious dark hole he went. |Chapter 2|Where am I?| As Frank went down the dark, mysterious hole. His stomach felt queasy as he got chopped up by the sharp, white canines of the human. His life was flashing before his eyes, the time when he was born. His farm days, where the farmer always looked at him with delight. His school days, where he got taught to be the perfect watermelon. His work days, where he sat still and did nothing but have envy put upon him. Also, that time where the school bell confessed to him. That time where he got really drunk with his friends. Wait, that never happened. In fact, now that Frank thought about it...Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. he had no friends, no lover and certainly no family. ''What a sad life'' he thought. But, those thoughts were interrupted by the pain of which he got chopped and chopped. He screamed in a frequency only watermelons could hear. Frank didn''t feel anger for the human that killed, he felt only regret that he didn''t live his life with more happiness. Frank, now realised he was all alone. At least the shopkeeper and the rich man could be considered (one-sided) friends. Then Frank went down the rich gullet of the man with loads of money. When he opened his watermelon eyes, a farm encompassed his view there were loads of watermelons, big and small, round and flat. (what?) ''Here we go again'' Frank thought. He didn''t like the idea of being the perfect melon now. He felt different and separate from the other watermelons in the shop. However, he looked around and found out that there were watermelons that were as perfect as he was, some even better than him. (not sure if being better than perfect is a thing but whatevs :/) He was shocked and relieved at the same time. His emotions were in a mess. He thought maybe he could finally make watermelon friends. Maybe, even a girlfriend! But, before Frank could get his hopes up, he thought... WATERMELON DON''T HAVE EYES! Then, he thought a bit more. ''Why does it matter? That just might be something that happens to dead watermelons.'' Little did Frank know, that this was his first step in evolution. |Chapter 3|Im a watermelon and so is everyone else!| For Frank, this farm was a shocking sight! The farm, where Frank was grown, was an ordinary farm. There was presumably an older sister and younger brother running it. With the older sister in her 20s and younger brother approximately 14. The younger brother every day wakes up and goes straight to the farm and waters each fruit with a different water amount. To the average bystander, this action could be just watering some fruits, however, to an expert farmer, this action was a shocking sight! To know how much water each fruit needs is quite weird, to say the least. Especially for a boy in his teens, for a boy that young would normally have no interest in such things. Despite the boy knowing all this knowledge, his fruits were at most above average and there was still one fruit that grew on the farm that trumped them all. However this fruit was not grown by the boy, it was grown by his older sister. This fruit was, of course, Frank. The reason Frank was this perfect could probably be attributed to this woman who nurtured him. She woke up and measured the amount of water to give to Frank. After a while of this woman growing Frank. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. She went to the market to sell ''him''. The watermelon connoisseur evaluated Frank, and ''he'' turned out to be an A+ rank. (You can probably tell the ranks) The woman was outraged! If Frank wasn''t an S rank, what kind of monstrous watermelon must be? The connoisseur could do nothing but say ''I do not know''. An A+ rank watermelon could sell for quite a lot anyways so the woman sold ''him''. This is why to Frank this was a shocking sight, he had finally seen the so-called S-class, not only that there were loads of ''em. There seemed to be horrible ones too. Ones with yellow spots and some that were cut in half. All kinds of watermelons, they talked to each other and laughed and cried. However, there was another astonishing detail that Frank nearly missed, he saw that there were no humans! ''How do they water themselves? Or get sunlight? What is this place!'' Frank thought shocked at the questions he himself were thinking. [Hey! You!] A voice woke Frank up from his stupor. Frank looked around only to see a watermelon that was at most B+ grade. [Umm... Hey, Who are you? What is this place? Why am I here?] Frank shouted out most of his questions in one go. [Woah there buddy, my name is Dobert and as you can see I am a B grade, right now you have been eaten or dead, whichever works. And you sir are in watermelon heaven! As you can see, I''m a watermelon and so is everyone else!] Dobert said rapidly. [Ok, umm... thanks, I guess? you''re talkative aren''t you.] (Frank) [Yup yup yup, so how did you ''die''? Raised then eaten? Bought from a shop then eaten? Given as a gift then eaten? Ran over by a Honda Fireblade? Although the last option is quite a rare one it can happen, it is much more common to just get ran over by a car but oh well. Oh, by the way, don''t ask watermelons how they died it''s quite a taboo subject.] (Dobert) [Didn''t you just do that though?] (Frank) [Oh looky here, that Darren of the Sevens, they''re quite a scary bunch! Make sure not to provoke them.] ''Ugh..'' Frank thought that this ''Dobert'' would be really annoying.
