《Lost Leaves》 Kurmayasha Keru Lost Leaves #Chapter 1 ¡°Kurmayasha Keru¡± ¡°The Family tree¡­.a term referring to a diagram that shows the relationship between generations of people of a family. Every leaf in the tree shows a person of a unique relationship to one¡¯s self¡­....¡­...For years I have lived as a single leaf flying in the wind¡­.a leaf that never knew its tree ¡­..I never really knew my mother or father¡­..I found myself away from home at a very young age¡­..far from my tree...I am..... A Lost Leaf.¡± A lady grabbed my hand and said ¡°Sweetie...wake up¡­¡± ¡° where are we going?¡± I asked while being dragged from my bed, I had to change and I had to leave, I was in a mansion for some reason, we rode a car and a driver took us to the train station ¡°Don¡¯t worry dear...It¡¯s going to be fine.¡± she said to me while waiting, she hugged me several times and tried to calm me down ¡°But I don¡¯t wanna go!¡± I said as I cried ¡°Goodbye...Keru.¡± she said while smiling and shedding tears. ¡°No!¡± I yelled while breathing heavily I got up...scared, frightened and sweaty. This dream has been chasing me lately. I can only recall few moments of it¡­.a woman taking me to a train station, she tells me to leave and she cries, then I feel so scared and frustrated. ¡°What was that about?¡± I calmly wiped the sweat from my forehead, and I fell back on my pillow. ¡°Keru wake up, you¡¯re gonna be late for school!¡± Said Zedd ¡°Ugh¡­.Okay!¡± I replied It¡¯s another boring day at school, I would have never survived school if Zedd was not here, Zedd is my cousin, the only family I have, I have been living with him forever. We live in a small apartment in Osaka, Japan. In a not popular area, Zedd doesn¡¯t like crowded places and he said it is close to where he works, he doesn¡¯t get payed much and that is why we live in this tiny home. Like everyday of school, I rushed to prepare and I had no time for breakfast...so I can only have a toast with jam on it on my way to school. And My day went normal, It was another boring day, I found myself staring into space while the teacher was talking ¡°Do your homework and I will check it next week¡± she said The bell then rang and everyone was excited, It¡¯s finally the weekend! I walked outside the school to go home when suddenly I heard ¡° Hey Keru!¡± It was Rin, one of my Friends ¡°What¡¯s up Rin?¡± I asked ¡°Aren¡¯t you going with me?¡± she asked ¡°Where?¡± I asked ¡°What?! You promised that you would date me!¡± she said ¡°Was I Drunk?¡± I asked before getting SMACKED on my head ¡°Ouch! Oh! Yeah I remember we were going to a restaurant!¡± I said ¡°Yay! Finally I got a boyfriend!¡± she said with a smile covering her face, (She is so annoying! ) Let¡¯s Get going!¡± then she grabbed my hand and pulled me after her like a pet she owns And at the restaurant¡­ ¡°Ummmm! This is Ramen is so delicious!¡± She said while eating like a pig, empty Ramen plates filled the table and all I was thinking was.. (Another Ramen Dish and I¡¯m gonna spend the rest of my life paying the bell!) ¡°Aren¡¯t you full?¡± I asked (She didn¡¯t even let me eat anything!) ¡°Nope! I¡¯m following a diet so I¡¯m eating lightly these days!¡± she said (LAIR YOU ALMOST ATE THE CHOPSTICKS!) I thought ¡°Let¡¯s go to a cafe now...it¡¯s close to here!¡± she said So I called the servant to get the bell, My hand was trembling and so he came with the bell ¡°Here you are sir.¡± he said ¡°Thank you¡± I replied, then I reached my pocket to get my wallet ¡°WHAAAAAAT?!¡± I yelled ¡°Wow! What is it Keru?¡± Asked Rin ¡°N..nothing!¡± I replied (I¡­.I was in a rush this morning and¡­...I Forgot my wallet!) ¡°He he he...I just need to go to the bathroom for a moment!¡± I said ¡°I¡¯ll be back in a sec!¡± Then I walked to the bathroom and closed the door (What should I do?! What should I do?!.....calm down there has got to be something I can do) I then looked around and I saw a small opened window ¡°That¡¯s It!¡± I said then I managed to escape through the window After an hour or so, the servant went to Rin ¡°It seems that Keru-San left.¡± he said ¡°WHAT?! Keru!!!! I will Fu**ing KILL YOU!!!¡± she yelled So Rin payed the bill and walked out of the restaurant, she then saw her rival, a girl called Mei Sasori ¡°he left you didn¡¯t he?¡± Asked Mei ¡°As I thought, not a single boy wants to date a hag like you¡± Rin then approached her and grabbed her shoulder ¡°Sasori¡­.¡± Said Rin ¡°Ughhhhhh! ¡° She PUNCHED Mei¡¯s face At that Time I went back home and Zedd wasn¡¯t there as usual, I dropped my back. I felt hungry so I walked to the kitchen to eat something, My heart was stung, I wide opened my eyes and I fell on the ground when I saw blood sprayed everywhere in the kitchen, My body was trembling, and I was very scared, I called the police right away, I had a rising fear that a criminal broke into my home, The police came and they searched the apartment, but they found no trace for any criminal. Someone then came from the entrance and it was Zedd, ¡°What is going on?¡± he asked ¡°There is blood everywhere in the kitchen!¡± I told him but when I looked at his hand, it was wrapped with bandage ¡°What¡¯s up with your hand?¡± I asked ¡°Oh¡­.Hahahaha¡­..I see...you must have thought that someone broke into the apartment, That was just a simple injury¡­¡± he said ¡°......¡± I replied with a glare ¡°Simple injury? You almost made a blood pool in the kitchen.¡± ¡°May I ask how did the incident happen?¡± Asked the officer ¡°..Oh Yeah! I came back home to prepare dinner and then pick Keru up from school, but I think I got distracted while peeling potatoes and I accidently cut my vein, I was so confused and I lost so much blood, I had to look for my keys and go the the hospital as soon as possible ...I didn¡¯t even have time to text Keru, I¡¯m sorry.¡± He said ¡°I¡¯m glad that there was no further damage and with that, I think we are done, be careful next time okay?¡± said the officer ¡°Right! Thank you very much sir¡± said Zedd as he bowed down while the policemen took their leave. ¡°I didn¡¯t want to say that infront of him but, how come, that you cook dinner for us? You have never done that before so¡­..what¡¯s going on?¡± I asked ¡°Hump¡­.looks like you noticed.¡± he said as he placed his middle finger on his glossy glasses ¡°Of Course I noticed you idiot, I have never seen you frying an egg before¡± I said ¡°Hump?¡± Zedd sniffed the air ¡° What¡¯s that smell?¡± ¡°Baka! You did not turn off the stove!¡± He then opened the stove and a giant cloud of black smoke came out ¡°I think dinner is ready¡± ¡°What?! It smells terrible and it¡¯s burning!¡± I lost it with yelling. He then took the food out of the stove and looked at me ¡°Today I quit my Job.¡± he said ¡°..........¡± I glared at him ¡°...........¡± Love this story? A week earlier, a Japanese company that has many locations all over the world called me from New York and they were interested in my skills. I got an offer to live in New York in a big house for free, I just have to work there and my Job is really easy.¡± ¡°So you mean?¡± I excitedly asked ¡°Yes, We¡¯re moving to New York, a bigger house and a better life!¡± said Zedd ¡° You will be able to accomplish whatever you want from now on.¡± ¡°Yaaaaaaahooooooooo!¡± I jumped with excitement ¡° so when are we going?¡± ¡°Tomorrow morning!¡± he said ¡°What?!¡± I replied ¡° That fast?!¡± ¡°Yeah! We don¡¯t have any time to waste...go pack your bags!¡± he said ¡°Hai hai!¡± I replied Then I spent the rest of the day packing, but all what I was thinking about is¡­.the memories of my life in here. The people I knew all my life in Japan, My friends and my neighbors. I never thought that would happen but¡­.I cried while packing. As soon as I finished packing I visited few people to say goodbye. The next day at 4:00 am, we went to the airport and we flew to New York. And after 17 hours, we are finally here. ¡°Wow! That is one big house!¡± I said ¡° No wonder you were in a hurry to leave!¡± ¡°Told you¡± He said ¡°You should check the inside then¡± I was amazed when I went inside the house, all these decorations that I see only in movies are now apart of my home, I loved every part of it, we even have a swimming pool. I then took a nice hot shower and I rested in my room. Later, I unpacked my bags and arranged my room. ¡°You have done a great Job with your room, looks like you love this house.¡± Said Zedd when he came into my room ¡°I do!¡± I replied ¡°You have to sleep early tonight.¡± He said ¡°Why?¡± I asked ¡°WHAAAAAT?! I guess it can¡¯t be helped.¡± I said The next day, I didn¡¯t wake up because I didn¡¯t even sleep, My english might be very good, but I still don¡¯t know the environment here, I¡¯m so nervous. But because I was awake, I was able to have an amazing breakfast. After that, I had to walk to school since Zedd had to go to his Job early, he can¡¯t drive me to school anymore and It¡¯s close anyways. I walked to my school passing the fabulous view of the parks and trees of our neighbourhood, The school was giant, I was stunned when I saw it. It was an entire city for me. I entered there and it was so big that I got lost. But shortly after, Zedd sent me an email with my classes which helped me eventually finding my class. ¡°Class..C-205 there it is!¡± I said when I finally found the class. I walked in there and found all the faces staring at me, looks like classes has already started and I¡¯m late. ¡°Looks like we have a new student here!¡± Said the teacher ¡°come forth!¡± So I approached her slowly, I was nervous because everyone was looking at me ¡°What¡¯s your name?¡± she asked ¡°It¡¯s...Keru¡± I said ¡°What is it again?¡± She asked ¡°Keru!¡± I replied louder ¡°Ooooh okay! So It¡¯s Keru¡± She said as she gave me a handshake ¡° Nice to meet you Keru I¡¯m Ms. Williams, please go ahead and Introduce yourself to the class!¡± I then looked at them and said ¡° My name is Kurmyasha Keru, I came from Osaka Japan, I¡¯m pleased to meet you all.¡± ¡°Alright!¡± she said ¡°Go ahead and have a seat.¡± I sat down and payed attention to the teacher but I sensed a sting on my left shoulder, it was the girl on the left, she then whispered ¡°Hi Keru, I¡¯m Zahraa¡± ¡°Hi¡± I replied but didn¡¯t pay much attention, I don¡¯t want to let my guard down at the first day of school after all. But she kept asking me questions like do you have brothers and sisters? How old are you? And etc. (Oh My God! How annoying! I wanna pay attention to the freaking class but this girl can¡¯t stop talking) this is all I was thinking at that moment, I didn¡¯t even know what she said, I didn¡¯t pay any attention to her yet she didn¡¯t stop talking. ¡°Zahraa...Can¡¯t you see that the boy wants to pay freaking attention!¡± said a girl that sat next to her with a cold glare ¡°go easy on him...he¡¯s new.¡± ¡°But Yasmin! He¡¯s interesting!¡± said Zahraa The seat on the right was empty and during the class a girl came in with a pass ¡°sorry for being late,I had to see my counselor ¡° she said As soon as my eyes fell on her, (This girl¡­.she¡¯s Japanese!), she then came and sat on the empty seat to my right but she didn¡¯t talk until the teacher was done talking. ¡°Hey Haruka! Did you meet Keru..he just came to class. He¡¯s from Japan!¡± Said Zahraa ¡°Oh really?! I¡¯m Tanaka Haruka¡± she said ¡°Nice to meet you¡± ¡°Kurmayasha Keru, pleased to meet you¡± I replied ¡°This is our group and destiny threw you between us!¡± Said Zahraa ¡®This is Nanako Motoki, she¡¯s from Japan too!¡± ¡°Hi!¡± said Nanako ¡°And this is Yasmin¡± said Zahraa ¡°Hello.¡± Said cold blooded Yasmin ¡°And this is Melisa¡± said Zahraa ¡°Nice to meet you, Keru!¡± said Melisa ¡°And there are many others, come have lunch with us today!¡± said Zahraa ¡°We will show you everyone¡± ¡°Thank you guys!¡± I said and a light smile appeared on my face, I felt some relief that now I got to know few people in here The rest of the day went normal. but when School ended, I walked home and on my way, in a narrow alley, I saw three boys surrounding a girl and pinning her to a wall, Instantly,I Hid behind a wall and listened to their conversation. ¡°This B***h tried to run away after school!¡± one of them said (ONE) ¡°You sh*t! Don¡¯t you get it? You are our slave! A tool for us! When we tell you to do something¡­.you F***IN DO IT!¡± said the second guy (TWO) as he SLAPPED her ¡°I¡­.I¡¯m sorry..¡± she said ¡°SHUT UP!¡± yelled the third guy (THREE) ¡°Leave her alone¡± I said as I stepped in ¡°Who the f**k are you?!¡± asked ONE ¡°Don¡¯t f**k with us!¡± said TWO (OMG! They¡¯re scary, what have I got myself into?! Now what can I say? What if they attacked me?!, they might have guns¡­..okay here it goes!) ¡°I said¡­..leave the girl!¡± so I replied (NOOOOO, I¡¯m an Idiot! I¡¯m an Idiot, I¡¯m a big Idiot, I provoked them even more, if they didn¡¯t have an intention to beat me up before, they do now!) ¡°You¡¯re So F**ked up now!¡± said THREE as he got a knife out of his pocket and ran at me ¡°NO STOP!!!¡± Shouted the girl, the guy (THREE) then aimed the knife at me. I didn¡¯t know what happened and all what I see now is my blood sprayed and spilled! End of Chapter one Realities ¡°You¡¯re So F**ked up now!¡± said THREE as he pulled out his knife and ran at Keru ¡°NO! STOP!!!¡± the girl shouted with a desperate look THREE swapped his knife vertically, Keru jumped to evade the hit, yet the knife scraped his arm and opened it wide and his blood spilled through it. ¡°Hah! Too much for words?!¡± asked ONE as he ran at Keru and PUNCHED him on the cheek. (What should I do now?! Should I run away? But I can¡¯t leave this girl! Are they going to kill me now? Am I gonna¡­..Die?!) Keru fell on the ground with those thoughts running through his mind (Calm down! Calm down! CALM DOWN!...... KURMAYAHSA KERU!........) the three began kicking him and when the girl tried to stop them TWO punched her (.....what can I do?!¡­..) ¡°I can¡¯t breath¡­...Ugh!¡± said Keru Then a flashback came to his mind in those critical seconds (Flashback) At the Middle school, a group of bullies were gathered beating up little Keru ¡°Take that sh*t head¡± Said the boss of the bullies, which was a fat boy named Takumi ¡°Leave him alone¡­¡± Said a boy who was passing by ¡°Huh?¡± asked Takumi as he turned around ¡°Who the hell are you?¡± ¡°Let¡¯s beat his a** boss!¡± said another boy named Inari ¡°I might help you there boy¡­.but look at yourself, laying on the ground crying like a baby¡­..since when did you decide to give up?¡­...did you even try to defend yourself?¡± Said the boy ¡°F*** off before I kick your a** child.¡± said Takumi ¡°Stand up¡­¡± Said the boy while looking at Keru Keru looked into the boy¡¯s eye for few moments, then he gathered his strength and stood up ¡°Now...Look at this guy in the eye¡± said the boy while pointing at Takumi Keru was scared but he slowly made an eye contact with Takumi, when Takumi looked at him, Keru look away immediately ¡°Look at him he¡¯s not a monster, he is a human!¡± said the boy When Keru heard those words, he looked at Takumi straight in the eye ¡°Now, tell him what¡¯s inside your...heart¡± Said the boy ¡°D¡­Do¡­¡± said Keru ¡° JUST SPIT IT, SHOUT AND YELL WHAT¡¯S INSIDE YOUR HEART! OR YOU WILL SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE FULL OF REGRETS, IT¡¯S NOW OR NEVER!!!¡± Said the boy Everyone then watched Keru closely. ¡°You have something to say...weakling?¡± Asked Takumi as he crunched his fist ¡°D¡­.DO NOT EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!¡± Shouted Keru as he PUNCHED Takumi and he fell on the ground. Everyone then opened their eyes, Takumi looked at Keru with a wide glare and a red angry face ¡°You¡¯re dead!¡± he said as he walked to beat Keru up along with some guys of his gang.
