《The dungeon masters》
Prologue: The dungeons
welcome to the world of arrerat, a world of sword and magic, a world that was filled with constant war and bloodshed, betrayal and treachery their native tongue, endless wars bred many calamities
it was at that time when wars were at the peak that they showed up
no one knows where they came from, why they appeared and what they wanted to do but all that''s known is that with their armies of monsters, vast treasury, control of mana, and many unique items, they ended those centuries of war
what am I talking about you ask?
well obviously I''m talking about the dungeons, vast and mysterious places that could summon hordes of monsters, contain within them infinite wealth, have the ability to manipulate huge amounts of mana, and possess items never before seen, ended the conflictThis tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
of course, when the dungeons appeared, many kingdoms raced to clear them and use them for war but all they did was aggravate the dungeons and the even more mysterious dungeon masters who controlled these mysterious places, leading to the destruction of these foolish kingdoms.
seeing this the strongest seven kingdoms at the time made an alliance with the seven most powerful dungeon masters and through a mutual agreement formed a new power
The dungeon exploration committee
this committee allowed it¡¯s members, now called dungeon raiders to explore the dungeons and steal its loot in exchange for not overhunting the dungeons, monsters and using its weapons and materials in war, the dungeons were also coined neutral territory in which all are treated equal and will not intervene in wars on the outside
afterwards, the dungeon masters disappeared, entering the deepest depths of their respective dungeons, never to be seen again
Since then it¡¯s been over 100 000 years and countless dungeons have formed, some rising, some falling, and the information about dungeon masters and the ancient pact disappearing into nothing but myth
Chapter 1:The contract
Fallholt? ?village is a small village with two hundred people lives in it. It is a part of the idrappateron Dynasty and it occupied its northern territory. Located near a river on the west making farming life prosperous. Decorated with wheat and corn field on the east and also surrounded by forest in the north, Fallholt village is a small but lively one.
Today the village was busing, more often than normal because today was the day of the? ?Festivle Of National Heroes celebrating all the heroes that sacrificed themselves to defeat the legendary dungeon Nightmare Maze that attempted to invade the idrappateron dynasty? ?10? ?000? ?years ago.
?In the middle of the village, a boy was currently playing with his friends when he suddenly stops.
?¡°Dylan, it¡¯s time to prepare for the ceremony¡± called a woman''s voice.
?¡°Can¡¯t I have five more minutes, mum,¡± asked a boy back.
?¡°No, the ceremony is more important, you can play later,¡± says the woman back as she takes a step out of her house.
?Giving up, Dylan walked back inside, Dylan was an eight-year-old, he had brown hair and green eyes and was of regular height and build for his age.
?As soon as he got inside he saw his mum and dad preparing some clothes.
?¡°Come, son, try these clothes on,¡± says his dad as he points to a bunch of rags that honestly looked more like a loincloth then anything else and a huge sword that honestly looked like it would crush him if he tried to pick it up.
?His dad was an ex-adventurer who had managed to reach the rank of B, a rank only one out of every hundred C ranked adventures could achieve, he had a muscular build and brown hair, blue eyes and a few scars scattered here and there on his body.
?¡°Geez, honey, he can¡¯t wear that, he should wear this,¡± his mother says as she then hands him a set of fine clothes, these ones looked brand new and had mixtures of green, blue and gold, on the side was also a wooden bow and an arrow holster.
?His mother was an ex-ranger, a member of an elite archery force that was said to be masters of shooting on the move and from different angles, as for her, she had a slightly bustier build, golden hair and green eyes.
?¡°He can¡¯t wear that, he¡¯s going to be a man, not some kind of pampered prince,¡± says his dad.
?¡°Well at least these are better than those barbaric clothes you got out for him,¡± says his mum back.
?¡°Barbaric, Andrew wore the exact same set of clothes and look out how he turned out,¡± says his dad.
?s
?Andrew was his big brother, he was four years older than him at the age of 12 when he was eight, he underwent the ceremony and got knight as his occupation, he was then officially accepted into the knight''s academy 2 years ago.
?¡°Oh come on, you know that was coincidental, you¡¯re just lucky that he didn¡¯t get a barbarian occupation because of that, what the hell was I thinking marrying an idiot like you,¡± said his mother while shaking her head.
?¡°Oh come on, in your clothes he looks like some kind of mannequin, he¡¯s not a doll, and it¡¯s not like I didn¡¯t have other women, I was an infamous ladies man you know,¡± says his dad, a moment of silence descends before both of them started laughing.
?¡°Maybe we both went a bit crazy about what to wear,¡± his dad says as he walks over to a closet to grab some other clothes.
?Seeing all this Dylan couldn¡¯t help but chuckle a little in his head as he eagerly thought about the ceremony.
?The ceremony was an event that happened during the Festival Of National Heroes in which every child that had turned eight that year would have their occupation assigned, this was literally a make or break time.
?The ceremony consisted of touching a magical crystal that could supposedly read innate talents, skills learnt before the ceremony, mana and destiny to discover the best possible occupation to allow you to succeed in life.
?To every family, it was an important event and garnered much attention, as a good occupation like a knight would gain respect not only for the person but the whole family while an occupation as something like a farmer would garner nothing but humiliation.
?This kind of thought naturally scared Dylan but it also excited him because even a bad job occupation could change to good, remembering the story of the farmer he was told as a child about a man who got the occupation of farmer but didn¡¯t give up and through countless years of work was able to grow many powerful and helpful plants which helped the starving populace for the kingdom thus gathering more respect than even the king.
?And there was always the option of becoming an adventurer, even though they were a mixture of many different occupations and a high ranking adventurer had an equal amount of reputation as a high-ranking knight.
?By the way, there are also king and hero occupations plus many hidden occupations that all kingdoms and associations are eager.
?Soon after his dad pulled out a set of regular clothes and they soon set off.
?The festival was already underway by the time Dylan and his family had left with countless stalls full of things from sweets to weapons, and at the centre of it all was a giant blue crystal standing in the middle of an altar.
?¡°Dylan, go off and play with your friends for now, but meet us here in a half hour when the ceremony starts,¡± says his mum with a smile as she and his dad walk off.
?Dylan quickly went to look for his friends when he saw a crowd forming up in a corner, curious he walked over.
?¡°Hey, do you think it¡¯s smart to be holding the festival now¡± whispers one of the group.
?¡°What do you mean?¡± asks another.
?¡°I''m talking about the dungeon Lurking Shadow Catacombs, it¡¯s just entered it¡¯s rank up phase and has become noticeably more violent, and it¡¯s only a day away from here,¡± says the first person. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
?¡°Come on, you know the guild Ocean Paladins are keeping an eye on it, and it¡¯s still a day away from here, even if they do manage to beat the guild town, it¡¯ll take a whole day before they arrive and by then we would have easily evacuated,¡± says the second person.
?A guild town is essentially a town with a guild within it, commonly found around dungeons, their more like checkpoints in which adventurers can gather before they enter the dungeon, they also serve as the first line of defence against a dungeon attack.
?Hearing this Dylan was naturally surprised, a dungeon rank up phase was a rare event that occurred where the dungeon suddenly changes, it¡¯s unknown why this happens but what is known is that the dungeon becomes extremely more dangerous afterwards, during a rank up some of the dungeons creatures can even escape and invade the outside world.
?After a second, however, Dylan decided to just forget about it and to talk to his parents about this later, he then continued to look for his friends.
?Meanwhile, in the forest to the north, a group of five injured people and one unconscious person were moving quickly.
?¡°Hurry, they''re right behind us and we have to warn Fallholt village right away so fight through the pain and under no circumstances stop,¡± says the man at the front.
?¡°Yes sir, all our comrades paid their lives to give us this chance, we can¡¯t fail,¡± says another as the start to accelerate when.
?¡°Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh¡± a wolves cry emits behind them.
?¡°Darn it, they¡¯ve already caught up, we¡¯ve got no time to waste, I''ll hold them off for as long as I can, you guys continue¡± says one of the people as he pulls up his spear to hold them off but it was already too late, a shadow passed right by him, ripping him to shreds in a second, soon more shadows appear, chasing after them.
?¡°Foolish human, they think that they can challenge me, the mighty Dromon and the mighty Crimson Eyed Pack, today Lurking Shadow Catacombs shall rise up and destroy the humans,¡± says the first shadow that had stopped to look at its kill when it senses something and looks up.
?¡°Moczuaqaq, Arselous, uabrod and Armand, I didn¡¯t expect the four of you to catch up so quickly,¡± said dromon with some disrespect while he looked at those four figures.
?Moczuaqaq was a lich with glowing green flames covering his whole body and black smoke floating around him, behind him stood a legion of dread knights.
?Arselous was a lamia with a bewitchingly beautiful female body upper half and a golden green snake bottom, behind her stood many snakes like creatures.
?Uabrod was a ghoul, he looked human except for his pale white skin and pitch black eyes plus the fact that his flesh was rotting, behind him stood many strange incandescent figures.
?Armand was a vampire, he looked exactly like Dracula except for the fact that he wielded a long spear designed to impale his enemies, many bats and lesser vampires stood behind him.
?While Dromon was a werewolf, he had pitch black fur, crimson red eyes and was twice the size of a regular one, his group was the crimson eyed pack which went on ahead.
?These five were the five strongest boss monsters of lurking shadow catacombs with a danger level of A+.
?¡°Dromon, what are you doing here?¡± asks uabrod with obviously conceited tone.
?¡°Yeah, the mighty Dromon can¡¯t possibly be having trouble with those lowly C-rank raiders that escaped, can he,¡± says Armand as he looks at the body on the ground that was now four pieces.
?¡°Of course not, after all, dromon is the supposed strongest of us all, there¡¯s no way he can possibly be having trouble with those lowly C rank humans, I mean, not after we beat them up so badly,¡± says moczuaqaq in an extremely sarcastic tone before he starts laughing.
?The five of them soon start to move again before they arrive at the crimson eyed pack and four dead bodies.
?¡°It¡¯s such a pity, an A rank adventurer sacrificed his life to delay us but here they are now dead,¡± says Arselous as she looks at the scene.
?¡°So what''s next?¡± asks uabrod.
?¡°If I remember correctly, there is a town called Fallholt to the south of here, and today is the day of the Festival Of National Heroes, the perfect next target,¡± says moczuaqaq as he starts marching towards the south.
?Completly unaware of what just happened the festival was still going on and the ceremony was about to start.
?a huge line of people was standing in front of the alter, Dylan was a little late and as such had ended up fiftieth in the line.
?¡°Okay, quite, we shall now begin the ceremony, I am priest ?Delwin and I''m in charge of this ceremony, will? the first person in line, please step forward,¡± says a person as he gestures his hands.
?The first person walks up, he was a slightly bulky person, with clear defined muscles, black hair and brown eyes.
?¡°What''s your name boy,¡± asks delwin.
?¡° ?Cuchumaquic,¡± says the bulky boy.
This name slightly startled the priest but he quickly calmed himself down.
¡°Okay, Cuchumaquic, place your hand on the crystal,¡± says the priest as he points to the crystal.
Cuchumaquic quickly followed the orders and placed his hand on the crystal, a series of lights lit up and soon a page emerged on the crystal.
Name: Cuchumaquic
Occupation: Blacksmith
Level: 1
Strength: 50
Dexterity: 30
speed: 20
stamina: 30
mana: 20
mana regeneration: 5% per hour
skills: basic hammer skills lv 2
basic forging skills: lv 1
basic smelting skills lv 1
Looking at this page, priest Delwin holds a crystal up to it and then a bright flash appears before the page disappears.
¡°Next,¡± says the priest.
This cycle repeated itself over and over again until it was only one person was before Dylan when.
¡°Okay, next, and¡± but before he could finish his sentence an arrow suddenly appeared out of nowhere, killing him.
This scene was immediately followed by more arrows, killing all the soldiers that stood on guard before the altar and an army of shadowy wolf-like creatures emerge quickly jumping into the pack of shocked people killing them left and right.
Soon everyone started to panic, running every which way, trampling a few people to death but it soon turns out that everything is in vain, they are soon surrounded by four more armies of monsters, quickly getting rid of any hope that any of them had to escape.
All of this panic had also hit Dylan as he was tossed and turned until he reached the altar, his hand falling and touching the crystal, causing a bright ray of black light to appear like an ominous sign.
This shocked all the figures present when suddenly inside Dylan''s head a voice appeared.
¡°To think I would find someone with such a similar mana wavelength, this is interesting, I only formed about a month ago and I already have found my dungeon master,¡± says the voice in an excited tone
This however shocked Dylan and even more shocking was the fact that five figures had suddenly appeared.
They were the bosses from ?Lurking Shadow Catacombs.
¡°To think we would meet one of them here, what should we do,¡± asks ?Arselou.
¡°Capture them if possible, we could get a subordinate dungeon, if not, kill them as to eliminate any possible threats,¡± says M?oczuaqaq as he orders the troops to move in towards Dylan
?This shocked Dylan when the voice suddenly spoke again.
?¡°Hey, we only just meet and you''re already in such a predicament, quickly make a contract with me and then you can escape, now hurry,¡± says the voice in a hurry.
?This however only confused Dylan more as he started to hurriedly look around for his mum and dad when he notices in the corner, surrounded by skeletons were his mum and dad or at least their bodies as they had swords impaling their vital organs.
?This scene shocked Dylan as he started to cry, he tried to control himself as he knew now wasn¡¯t the time but he just couldn¡¯t help it, he turned to look at the creatures advancing on him
?¡°No no no nnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo¡± yells Dylan causing a strange scene to occur, the metal in every store and in every weapon started to vibrate fiercely before they started to melt into pools of liquid metal until.
?¡°Swoosh¡± they suddenly struck out impaling and killing all the creatures that seemed to be attacking Dylan and formed a protective spiral around him, a small amount also went to his parents and swallowed up the sword, bow and arrows that they had before encasing them in coffins of metal before rejoining the spiral.
?¡°Wow, you awakened your dungeon master skill, living liquid metal, not the flashiest name but it explains it I guess, anyway I''ll take that as a yes,¡± says the voice as a bright light suddenly flashes and Dylan plus the two coffins of metal suddenly disappeared.
Chapter? ?2:? ?the Dungeon core, a lot of informatio
Inside a dark but bright room,? ?Dylan finally regains his senses after his parent''s deaths and? ?realizes he''s no longer in Fallholt village.
"Where am I??¡± ?he asks.
¡°You¡¯re inside the mana space,? ?an area in the dungeon core where the dungeon master can escape to when you¡¯re in trouble,?¡± ?says a voice which he? ?recognizes to be the voice who was talking to him in his head but the answer only led to more questions.
¡°Mana space,? ?dungeon core,? ?dungeon master,? ?what are you talking about,?¡± ?he asks the dungeon core.
¡°I imagine you must be confused but please,? ?one question at a time,? ?I promise I¡¯ll answer them all eventually,? ?we have all the time in the world after all,?¡± ?the dungeon core says back.
¡°All the time in the world?? ¡° ?Questions Dylan?.
¡°Yes,? ?we dungeons can live forever as long as we have mana and our dungeon core is intact and that privilege is shared by the dungeon masters through the contract so as long as I don¡¯t die and you¡¯re not killed we will live forever,?¡± ?says the dungeon core back.
¡°Live forever,?¡± ?he asks back.
¡°Yes,? ?do I have to re-say it,? ?so do you want to re-ask your questions but this time just? ?1? ?at a time please,?¡± ?asks the dungeon core?.
A moment of silence descends as Dylan attempts to process what he¡¯s just heard.
¡°Live forever,? ?dungeon masters,? ?contract,? ?mana space,? ?what¡¯s going on,? ?where are mum and dad,? ?the last thing remember is seeing them? ?die,? ?what the hell is going on,? ?wait he said he would answer my questions?¡±.
¡°You said you would answer all my questions right,?¡± ?he asks.
¡°Yes,?¡± ?says the dungeon core back.
¡°Then where am I again??¡± ?he asks
¡°Geez,? ?I said you were inside the mana space,? ?a place inside the core in which a dungeon master can escape to when in times of danger,? ?you will be safe in here as long as no one destroys the dungeon core,?¡± ?says the dungeon core back.
?¡°?Okay,? ?why am I here,?¡± ?he asks back.
¡°Well obviously because? ?if I didn¡¯t teleport you here you would have been killed by? ?Lurking Shadow Catacombs bosses,?¡± ?says the core dungeon.
¡°Killed by bosses, you mean that dungeon¡±.
¡°rogue,¡± says the dungeon interrupting him
¡°huh,¡± he says
¡°Lurking Shadow Catacombs is no longer a dungeon, they''re a rogue dungeon now,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Rogue dungeon?¡± he asks.
¡°Yes a dungeon that has broken attacked the outside world thus leading to another great purge,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Great purge?¡± he asks again.
¡°Yeah even I don¡¯t know a lot about it, only that it was an event that happened 50 000 years ago and led to the extinction of over 99% of the dungeons of the time,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Okay, what''s a dungeon core again?¡± he asks.
¡°Geez, I feel like we¡¯ve just gone in a giant circle, how about I just explain the important parts to you?¡± asks the dungeon core.
¡°That might be for the best¡±.
¡°Okay, first I shall ask you, do you know what a dungeon is specifically,¡± asks the dungeon core.
¡°Yes, it¡¯s an area that has condensed a dungeon core and serves as a housing for monsters, typically the monsters stay inside the dungeon but sometimes after a rank up period they do,¡± he says.
¡°Well technically yes, but that is only very general knowledge, allow me to explain, there are actually four kinds of dungeon cores, they are pure, sacrificial, artificial and chaos, the methods in which they are forged determines what type is forged, pure type dungeon core are condensed from when pure mana naturally condenses , they are the rarest and a technically neutral in nature, I''m of that type¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Oh, then what about the other three,¡± he asks.
¡°Well, sacrificial dungeons are made through a special ritual in which a person will sacrifice a large amount of life to allow their consciousness to become a dungeon, artificial however are created by the mass fusing of mana crystal through unnatural methods thus creating a dungeon core, chaos, however, are forged similar to pure but in areas in which much fighting, death and hatred has been, do you understand¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Yes,¡± he says back.
¡°Yes, now even though a dungeon is formed once a dungeon core claims land, there is something even more important that each dungeon must do before they can become a full-fledged dungeon, that finds a dungeon master, the dungeon master is a living being that shares the same mana wavelength as the dungeon but it¡¯s completely coincidence when you meet one, it can be anything from instantaneous to even 1000 years later¡± says the dungeon core.
Hearing this, Dylan was shocked, he had never heard of a dungeon master before, he had thought that a dungeon master was a strong boss within a dungeon when he first was said those words by the dungeon just after his parents deaths but for a dungeon to need one before being considered a full-fledged dungeon shocked him.
¡°Why are dungeon masters so important,¡± he asks.
¡°Well, dungeon masters are so important because dungeon cores are just pure clumps of mana that besides talking with a dungeon master have only two simple instincts, that is to expand the territory of our dungeon and to spawn in creatures to our dungeon when we have the mana, it¡¯s a dungeon master that designs the dungeons, sets which monsters are bosses, controls monster during a dungeon core battle, and essentially keeps the dungeon under control¡± says the dungeon core, shocking Dylan.
¡°Something so important, how come no one knows about this,¡± he asks.
¡°Well, The dungeon exploration committee does, or at least it¡¯s higher ups, also some powerful guilds guild masters have alliances with dungeon masters but dungeon masters mostly keep their existence a secret,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Why?¡± he asks.
¡°Simple, I said that without a dungeon master we only have two simple instincts, but because of the contract, we lose our instinct to expand our territory once our dungeon master dies, essentially making us monster spawners that can be repeatedly farmed without consequence to the outside world,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Huh, something so serious if one of you dies, and what''s this about a contract, you¡¯ve mentioned it at least three times already,¡± he asks.
¡°The contract is what we form with our dungeon masters, it essentially allows our dungeon masters to use our mana when inside a dungeon, control and design our dungeons and it¡¯s denizens while also assigning rank and status, and share our lifespan, in exchange for a dungeon masters protection, but there are downsides to, such as when a dungeon core is destroyed, it¡¯s dungeon master dies but when a dungeon master dies, they only lose their instinct to expand, also dungeon masters have to personally set everything from boss monsters to safe zones, essentially designing the whole dungeon, all we do is spawn the creatures¡± says the dungeon core.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Hearing this Dylan is surprised.
¡°So the dungeon master gets the benefits but also gets loaded up with all the work,¡± he says.
¡°Not to mention the fact that if they reveal themselves to the outside world, they will be hunted down and killed as every single nation wants to get their hands on a free puppet dungeon they don¡¯t have to risk possible invasion from, not to mention they have to get every single dungeon specimens themselves¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Dungeon specimen,¡± he asks, confused by the term.
¡°Yes, dungeon specimen, you didn¡¯t think we could make monsters out of thin air did you, we''e pure clumps of matter, not god, we can¡¯t just make something out of nothing, the dungeon master will get dungeon specimens through three different means, they are buying them on the dungeon interface, collecting a species from outside and integrating it into the dungeon or modifying a creature already living in the dungeon to a subspecies or maybe even an entirely new species of animal¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Huh,¡± says Dylan trying to process what he just heard, dungeons don¡¯t create things out of thin air, they need actual specimens to create their monsters.
¡°I''m sure yours trying to process what you just heard right, but we dungeons are pure clumps of mana, not gods, all we have is the ability to spawn exact perfect genetic copies of creatures gotten through one of those three ways, anyway maybe I should explain about the dungeon interface, I''ve mentioned it a few times already but haven¡¯t gone into detail about it¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Um, sure,¡± he says back.
¡°well I think it would be best to explain it to you with it open so open up your status page first,¡± says the dungeon core but this just confuses Dylan ¡°think about the status page and it will appear"
Hearing this, Dylan immediately starts to think about his status page when suddenly.
| Name: Dylan |
| Occupation: Dungeon master () |
| Level: 1 |
| Dungeon points: 10 000 |
| Strength: 30 |
| Dexterity: 40 |
| stamina: 40 |
| mana: 1000 (5000 when in the dungeon) |
| mana regeneration: 15% per hour (instantaneous when in the dungeon) |
|
skills: basic archery lv 3
basic swords skills: lv 2
|
|
Innate skills: +20 to four main stats when in dungeon (G class)
Dungeon interface
|
|
Dungeon master skills: living liquid metal (G class) lv 1
|
Seeing this suddenly appear in his head, Dylan naturally was shocked but before he could say anything, the dungeon core interrupted.
¡°Interesting stats, 50 speed, you must be pretty fast then, the average speed for a level 1 is only about 30, and 40 dexterity and stamina, that only comes from long hours of training and 1000 mana, you could be a wizard if you wern''t a dungeon master but then again those stats are nothing to higher ups but to have that before you awaken, pretty good, by the way, 5000 mana is the maximum amount of mana I can store right now¡± the dungeon core says.
This statement, however, confused Dylan even more but he was soon interrupted again.
¡°If you''re curious about those innate skills and the dungeon master skill, don¡¯t be, I''ll explain them in a bit but first, those empty brackets are where you can input another occupation,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Input another occupation?¡±.
¡°Yes, because dungeon masters must hide their own title, they have the unique ability to hide their occupation under a different one, this just allows more safety because a lot of places in larger cities and capitals require the revealing of statuses and living out in the middle of nowhere for eternity is just sad, anyway innate skills are skills given up being given an occupation and are unique to hidden titles like yours, which is dungeon master or to special titles like hero and war god, and dungeon master skills are essentially innate skills unique to dungeon masters and they have something to do with the dungeons, they grow stronger as the dungeon grows stronger, you get one when you become a dungeon master, a second when we become a C rank dungeon, third when becoming A rank and one after each rank up after that¡± says the dungeon core.
This statement, however, surprised Dylan.
¡°Anyway lets get back on topic, man I''m all over the place, but who would have thought I had so much information to tell you, I thought it would be so much simpler, anyway, you should still have your status open so simply think to open the dungeon interface and it should open¡± the dungeon core says.
Dylan immediately does this and the status screen immediately changes.
| Dungeon Interface |
| Dungeon Overview |
|
Dungeon store: Grade G
|
| Dungeon Layout |
| Dungeon Species modifier |
¡°The screen should have appeared in your head, there should be a dungeon interface title and four subparts called dungeon overview, dungeon store, dungeon layout and dungeon species modifier, dungeon overview gives you the, you know, name, floor number, number of bosses, species in the dungeon, basic information, dungeon store is where the dungeon master can buy everything, I''ll go into more detail a bit later, dungeon layout provides a map of the dungeon, and allows you create rooms, set spawn/safe zones, assign boss monsters and essentially build your dungeon, and dungeon species modifier allows you to modify species of creatures already in your dungeon and create new subspecies of this creature, know I''ve just given out a lot of information so I''ll give you a sec to process it¡± says the dungeon core.
Hearing this, Dylan gave a sigh of relief as he attempted to process all the information, it took him a good ten minutes before he was ready to continue.
¡°Okay, I''m ready,¡± says Dylan.
¡°Okay, so now think to open the store menu,¡± says the dungeon core in which Dylan immediately follows.
| Dungeon Store |
| Dungeon Points: 10 000 |
| Equipment |
| Items |
| Skills |
| Species |
| Rooms |
| Traps |
¡°Okay, there should be a thing called dungeon points at the top, that the currency used to buy everything in the shop, and to hollow out the dungeon, at our current rank we get 1 point per person that enters the dungeon and another for every hour after entering that they stay, with fifty points awarded when killed, we also get 10 points every day without doing anything¡± says the dungeon core as naturally as anything but this however shocked Dylan.
¡°10 points without doing anything, but if a party of 10 were to enter the dungeon you would immediately get 10 points anyway, and if they stayed an hour after this you would get 2 days worth of points and killing just one would give you five days worth of profit, there certainly is more benefit in having people raid the dungeon then not¡± he thinks.
¡°Anyway the four tabs are kinda self-explanatory but there is some specifics i need to explain, equipment is split into two which are weapons and armour, you can literally find any kind of weapon or armour in there, items are any other miscellaneous things from chairs to rare plants and animals, even a whole castle can be bought here, you can store and retrieve anything from these 2 tabs instantly so yeah¡± hearing this Dylan is surprised.
¡°Skills is where you can buy any skill from any class, you, however, have to have either personally killed a user of their class or killed an adventurer who had that class in the dungeon and you only learn the skills they knew so there are limits¡± the dungeon core, kind of shattering Dylan''s dreams but he realised there had to be some limit.
¡°Species are species that have previously existed/ are existing right now in a dungeon, their sold in three forms, singular, card and spawner, singular are for when you just want one of a species, typically their bought by dungeon masters to experiment on with the dungeon species modifier or to see if they will integrate well with the dungeon. cards contain the genetic data to spawn a set number of those creatures, they range from 10 - 100 and will spawn automatically when there is enough mana, there are of course methods you can do to reuse/store them but these are generally used when you''re in quick need of troops as they¡¯ll instantaneously spawn as many as they can and will continue until when enough mana is gathered. spawners are your more permanent option, you can buy preset one which already has a species in them or you can buy an empty one and put in a dungeon card and it will immediately start to spawn, you can control them to spawn in under certain circumstances and even set them a certain amount of mana in which they will use¡± says the dungeon core but Dylan seems to be getting bored so the dungeon core hurries up and explains the fifth tab
¡°Rooms are essentially where you can buy rooms, now you can create natural rooms but hollowing out the space within the dungeon but the rooms in here are special and will provide benefits, like the boss room which provides benefits for bosses such as increase speed or strength or trap rooms which are riddled with traps already and many more¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°And the traps are essentially where you buy traps to put within dungeons and the can range from natural traps like sticky vines to traps like poison rooms,¡± says the dungeon, taking a break.
¡°Is that all,¡± asks Dylan with a bit of hope.
¡°Just two more quick bits of information, the first is that even though we can spawn creatures, if there are a male and female of one species or of another species or whatever, they can reproduce, these reproduced creatures won¡¯t be under your control but that of one of your spawned creatures which will command them under your orders but they will attack you if not careful, you can still die, even inside the dungeon, and that there is more information, I don¡¯t know that information, all I know is that there is more and that I can¡¯t explain it to you right now so if you find something you don¡¯t understand, ask me, if I can¡¯t tell you then know that it¡¯s for a reason, that''s all¡± the dungeon core says.
Hearing this Dylan gives a sigh of relief.
¡°Finally, I thought I was going to fall asleep, wait, did I say that out loud,¡± he asks with an embarrassed tone.
¡°Yes, you did,¡± the dungeon says in a monotone almost robot-like tone.
¡°Hahaha, sorry,¡± he says before he suddenly turns serious ¡°anyway, where are my parent''s bodies,¡± he asks.
¡°Oh, their right over there, encased in the iron coffins" the dungeon core says as a mana hand appears showing Dylan, he immediately walks over and touches them, the metal melts away to reveal empty space.
Chapter 3. The dungeons start
¡°huh,¡± says the dungeon core when he sees the scene, completely flabbergasted
¡°hey, whats the meaning of this¡± Dylan asks angrily
¡°I don¡¯t know, I teleported the iron cases and within them their bodies, they should be there, why don¡¯t you try melting the other two cases which hold the sword and bow/arrows,¡± says the dungeon core
Dylan immediately complies, he walks over to the two smaller iron cases and places his hand on them, causing an exact repeat of events except for the fact that the sword and bow were there, the arrows, however, had turned into plain sticks as the metal arrowheads had melted and merged with the steel that was covering them
¡°hm, how peculiar, I wonder why exactly the sword is alright,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°That¡¯s what you¡¯re wondering about, my parent''s bodies are missing and you¡¯re wondering about a sword!¡± he yells
¡°well, isn¡¯t it strange, isn¡¯t that sword regular iron or steel, why is it completely fine when every single other piece of iron in the area of your skill melted,¡± says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
¡°I guess that is strange, but what¡¯s important right now is the fact that MY PARENTS ARE GONE,¡± he says straining the last four words
¡°well, as I said I don¡¯t know what happened, anyway, we¡¯ll have to wait to figure that one out as we¡¯ve got some bigger problems to handle right now,¡± the dungeon core says dodging the question
¡°bigger problems,¡± Dylan says in an angry tone
¡°yes, I was explaining the basics to you right now but I didn¡¯t mention a slight problem,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°slight problem, what problem,¡± he asks still with an angry tone
¡°well, we¡¯re in the middle of a mountain,¡± says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
¡°we¡¯re in the middle of a what,¡± asks Dylan
¡°well you remember how I said I was a pure mana type dungeon, well i was formed by the deep veins of mana and mana ore in this mountain, as such were currently in the centre of a mountain and if you were to try to leave, you would suffocate¡± says the dungeon core, stupifying Dylan
¡°so what, I can¡¯t leave this place,¡± says Dylan
¡°no, you can, there are 2 methods but I''m not sure you¡¯ll want to do either,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°what are the two methods,¡± he asks
¡°well the first is to wait,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°wait,¡± he says back
¡°yes, about a year to be precise, that''s how long it will take me to possess the area on the outside, you, however, will have to climb down half the mountain afterwards though,¡± says the dungeon core, causing Dylan to think
¡°and what''s the second method,¡± he asks
¡°to spend your dungeon points to create a room,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°that doesn''t sound so bad,¡± he says back
¡°right now, but you¡¯ll understand later how important dungeon points are,¡± says the dungeon core
hearing this, Dylan starts to think, ¡°well, dungeon points are important, there used for buying things in the store and for creating things in the dungeon but it¡¯s not impossible to earn them back¡±
a moment of silence descends when suddenly in his head

| Accept/Decline |
¡°huh, um dungeon core, a screen talking about a quest has just appeared in front of me,¡± he says, surprising the dungeon
¡°what did you just say,¡± says the dungeon cautiously
¡°I just said that a screen saying I found a quest just appeared, should I accept or decline,¡± he asks but
¡°accept, absolutely accept, why would we decline, wait, what is the quest,¡± the dungeon core asks
¡°well, to either wait a year or to create a room to escape the mana space, so should I still accept,¡± he asks, stupifying the dungeon core
¡°yes, still accept,¡± the dungeon core says and Dylan immediately thinks accept
¡°so, what should I do now, build a room or wait a year,¡± he asks
¡°up to you, if you think you can wait a year, be my guest,¡± says the dungeon core, causing Dylan to once again think, this time which one will be beneficial to him
¡°if I spend dungeon points, I can get it done immediately but it might take some time before I''m able to get the dungeon points used for creating the room back, if I use more than 1000 points that are, but to wait for a whole year, that might not be long for me seeing as I''ll live as long as the dungeon core providing I''m not killed but still, a whole year of doing nothing¡± he says when he suddenly remembered something
¡°hey, you said I could be a mage if I didn¡¯t become a dungeon master before, right,¡± he asks the dungeon core
¡°yeah,¡± says the dungeon core back
¡°then what if I trained my magic in here, I mean it takes years to learn magic and if I trained on it in here, if I did¡±
¡°no,¡± the dungeon core says instantly
¡°huh, why,¡± he asks
¡°two reasons, the first is the fact that if you were to train magic inside the dungeon, you might become reliant on the dungeons mana which would only be detrimental to you, the second is the fact that we''re inside the mana space,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°the fact were in the mana space,¡± he asks
¡°yes, the mana space is the place where all the mana collected within the dungeon is sent before it¡¯s processed and distributed throughout the dungeon, as such this place has abnormally high but unstable mana, now you¡¯re safe as long as you don¡¯t try to do anything that has anything to do with mana besides things to do with the dungeon like creating rooms or creatures, but if you were to attempt to cast magic or meditate, bad things will happen¡± the dungeon core says
¡°bad things will happen, like what,¡± he asks back, not believing him
¡°well lets say you were to cast the basic level 1 fire spell spark, it would erupt and the spark would become a raging inferno equivalent to the intermediate level 8 fire spell eruption, at least, and if you were to attempt to meditate to increase elemental affinities, you most likely would explode into a pile of mush¡± says the dungeon core, shocking Dylan, ¡°you can, however, read the books, if you want, as long as ou don¡¯t use mana and don¡¯t meditate you should be fine¡± says the dungeon core
¡°Whats the point of that!¡± he yells
¡°absolutely nothing, besides gaining knowledge, but you¡¯ve got a long time to learn it and you¡¯ll still have to spend dungeon points, maybe even more than what it would create a room,¡± says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
¡°then what am I even thinking about,¡± he says as he thinks about the dungeon interface, he then goes into rooms and chooses to create a regular one right next to the dungeon core.
this stupifies the dungeon core ¡°no wait¡± the dungeon core says but it¡¯s too late
he decides to make the room about as large as an Olympic oval, he then starts to buy things to put in the room, some plants like trees and flowers, he hollows out some space and buys water to create a small lake, he buys 5 sword training dummies, 3 straw and two with armour on them, he also buys 5 standard archery targets, a weapon stand, some stones for strength training, he then designs a slight crevice on the outside for running and a few arrows, he was then going to exit when he notices a special kind of dummy, this dummy was like those martial arts dummies you would see in movies in which you would hit one arm and the other would spin to hit you, he buys two of those then exits, spending a total of 5000 pointsStolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
this, however, took place in a matter of seconds as it was as simple as thinking what kind of room he wanted then browsing through the shop and thinking to buy them, he then proceeded to organise them into clear areas creating a nice mini world inside the dungeon
¡°what the hell, you spent half of your total amounts of points in one go, geez, don¡¯t you know restraint, do you know how long it will take to regain that amount of points, 500 days, that¡¯s right, 500 days, that¡¯s more than a year, and what did you create¡± says the dungeon core
the years in arrerat are 271 days long they have a total of 13 months which are named dozexius, vruvag, tlocos, avums, qeall, hagozis, uza, tevisius, graurk, frakals, ilm, stykug and qlaxolt, their weeks have eight days, the names of the days are ocus, adosius, hurs, wrals, braarq, hajhn, xowaq and zoxas
soon after a bell sound goes off in his head

¡°hm, an increase of 5 to strength, dexterity, speed, stamina and mana but that¡¯s all that changed,¡± he says a little disappointed
¡°well what did you expect, you¡¯re not gonna get stronger instantly, strength gained like that is not the kind of strength you want because even if you have it, controlling it is an entirely different manner,¡± says the dungeon core as if he were a wise sage
¡°I guess, anyway, you asked me what I made, well it¡¯s a training room, this way I can use the room I had to create to practice and learn, no magic facilities though,¡± he says
¡°well there is also the stat bonus but I''ll overlook that,¡± says the dungeon
¡°anyway, what now, even with this room, I''ll still need to wait a year until you reach the outside,¡± he says
¡°not necessarily, open up the dungeon overview,¡± he says which Dylan immediately does ¡°now, in the bottom right corner of the screen, there should be a map, it should be the picture of a mountain,¡± he says which Dylan immediately looks at, the screen then enlarges
the image was a large mountain, strange green lines seemed to fill this picture but the all flowed towards an orange section in the middle, or more specifically a blue sphere in the middle of the orange section, next to this blue sphere was a black room which Dylan recognised as the room he had just made
¡°you should have the map up, the green lines are the mana veins in the mountain, the orange area in the middle is the mana ore within the mountain, the blue sphere is the core and the black room is the dungeon, it should only have 1 room right now which is the one you just created¡± says the dungeon core
¡°yeah,¡± he says back
¡°in the bottom right corner of that screen should be a red area going into the mountain,¡± the dungeon core says and Dylan immediately looks over to see
¡°that¡¯s a cave, it was formed before I was formed so I can¡¯t claim it, but you can¡± the dungeon core leaving Dylan surprised
¡°huh, I can claim the cave, how,¡± he asks
¡°simple, you have to walk to the deepest part of the cave, once you¡¯re there, simply touch the wall and say dungeon claim, then send out your mana, the cave then will be claimed as part of the dungeon, of course, this only works because it¡¯s inside the mountain¡± says the dungeon core surprising Dylan
¡°so I can do that huh, but how am I supposed to get to the cave anyway,¡± he asks
¡°well now that we have a room within the dungeon, i can teleport you to the outside of the cave, I can¡¯t do this when you¡¯re in the mana space, only when you¡¯re in the dungeon itself, which is why I needed you to create a room to use this method¡± says the dungeon core
Dylan starts to think when a ding goes off in his head

seeing this, Dylan is flabbergasted
¡°um, I just got another quest, and something called a rank up quest, what should I do,¡± he asks but the dungeon just remains silent ¡°um¡± but before he can finish
¡°would you remind repeating that, please,¡± the dungeon core asks
¡°um, sure I just said I just got another quest, and something called a rank up quest, what should I do?¡± he says once again, confused at the dungeon cores response
¡°so I didn''t mishear you, what''s the two quests this time,¡± the dungeon core asks
¡°the first is to claim the cave, and the rank up is to complete 100 quests,¡± he says back
¡°accept both, claiming the cave is something we should do anyway, and a rank up is unbelievably valuable, especially if it¡¯s something as simple as this,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°why is a rank up important, if I remember correctly the Lurking Shadow Catacombs had just gone through a rank up before it became a rogue dungeon right, what benefits does it give,¡± he asks
¡°a lot, but I can¡¯t explain them right now,¡± the dungeon core says, leaving Dylan frustrated
¡°okay, so I accept,¡± he says
¡°yes,¡± the dungeon core says back
"so how do I leave this place,¡± Dylan asks
¡°just think it and you will,¡± says the dungeon core
Dylan immediately does so and the space around him starts to churn before he notices he¡¯s now standing inside his new training room,
¡°pretty nice, but why¡¯s it so bright in here, shouldn¡¯t it be pitch black,¡± he says to himself as he admires his creation
¡°2 reasons, first is the fact that this room is surrounded by mana ore which glows in the dark, second is that the dungeon master can see everything within the dungeon,¡± says the dungeon core, startling him
¡°how,¡± he asks
¡°dungeon masters have a telepathic link to the dungeon core, it¡¯s how we communicate in times of danger,¡± says the dungeon core ¡°anyway, look at the weapon stand, I left a few gifts"
Dylan immediately turns to look at the weapon stand to see five items
the first item was a sword, This sword¡¯s blade was pure white with blue outlines styled to resemble leaves. Its grip is wooden with runes carved into it.
the second item is a set of gauntlets, their pitch black with red outlines almost like veins, and a large blue crystal in the middle, their fingers extended out and ended like claws
the third item was a mask that only covered his eyes and nose, half was styled like the sword, half was styled like the gauntlets
the fourth was a metal canister that looked like a gourd
the fifth was a bow made of pure metal, it was pure silver in colour
seeing these five items, Dylan was surprised
¡°you created this room where some mana ore was so I used it to create these, now don¡¯t use them in the outside world unless absolutely necessary, you risk revealing yourself as a dungeon master¡± the dungeon core says ¡°there shouldn¡¯t be anything dangerous in the cave but be careful, just ask for the equipment when you need them¡± Dylan is then immediately teleported to the outside of the cave
¡°so this is the cave huh¡± he says as he looks around, he was in the middle of a mountain forest, completely surrounded by stones and trees and this strange mist that covered the bottom of his feet, he enters the cave but as soon as he does some bats fly out surprising him, he then proceeds deeper but it was too dark so he buys a torch from the store for 2 dungeon points
¡°okay, there¡¯s some bats on the ceiling, some snakes, some insects, ants, centipedes, millipedes, some frogs, nothing serious¡± he says, having been raised in a small village it wasn¡¯t unexpected for him to find these things in caves, and it also didn¡¯t surprise him as he had used to adventure in caves with his big brother and these were pretty common things to see
he continued inwards, not worrying about anything until he sees a small mound, or at least he assumed it to be a small mound until he noticed breathing
¡°there¡¯s a bear, a real bear, I thought you said there wasn¡¯t anything that was dangerous in this cave!¡± he yells through the telepathic channel
¡°there isn¡¯t, just calm down and walk around it, it¡¯ll take you a second, okay,¡± says the dungeon core, trying to calm him down, Dylan immediately tippytoes around the walls until he eventually reaches a place just behind the bear ¡°here it is, the end of the cave¡±
¡°okay, dungeon claim,¡± he says as a light descends, filling the whole cave, soon pieces of information on all the species in the cave fill his head
¡°I''ll go over those later, so what now,¡± he asks
| Quest Complete |
| distributing reward |
¡°why don¡¯t you create another room, it¡¯ll allow for more mana to be given to the creatures that occupy that room as it¡¯s closer to the core than here,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°oh, does the closeness to the dungeon core matter¡±
¡°of course it does, the closer a creature is to the dungeon core, the stronger the mana they absorb, the stronger the link formed and the stronger the creature created,¡± says the dungeon core
¡°oh, if that¡¯s the case,¡± he says as he creates 2 rooms of similar size, one room at the back of the cave and the second right next to his training area, he then goes and buys plants and rocks to make the two rooms look like their parts of the cave
¡°hey, dungeon core, can you teleport the bear to the cave near my training area,¡± he says when he notices that the dungeon core was silent
¡°you idiot, you just spent all the dungeon points we had, the whole 7000 points!¡± yells the dungeon core
¡°oh please, calm down, we can use the second cave I''ve created to create strong creatures for the dungeon while we use this as a front until we''re ready,¡± he says back causing the dungeon core to be silent
¡°well, I suppose I can understand your line of thinking,¡± the dungeon core says before he sighs ¡°fine, I''ll transport the bear¡± before a bright light appears and the bear disappears
¡°so what next,¡± he asks
¡°well, why don¡¯t you visit a town¡±
Chapter 4: Entering the Town
¡°Huh, visit a town, why should I do that,¡± he asks.
¡°Because a certain idiot just spent every single dungeon point they have, now we are in desperate need of them,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Yeah, but what¡¯s that got to do with visiting a town,¡± he asks.
¡°Well, there is some information available that I couldn¡¯t tell you before that I can tell you now, first, there is more than one way to get dungeon points,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Like?¡± he asks.
¡°Well, the most obvious and simplest is through adventures entering your dungeon but if you''re just starting out first are through quests, completing quests will sometimes reward you with a certain amount of dungeon points, but you should have noticed that by now,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Yeah, but I still don¡¯t see what that¡¯s got to do with going to a town, I mean I don¡¯t have a quest to go to town, so there¡¯s no point,¡± he says back.
¡°Well that has to do with the other methods, more specifically the conversion method,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Conversion method?¡± he says back confusingly.
¡°Yes, the dungeon has the ability to convert any solid matter into mana or dungeon points as long as they aren¡¯t purchased from the dungeon store, the conversion rate is half the cost in the store,¡± says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan.
¡°You mean to say that if I, for example, were to buy a regular iron sword outside the dungeon and were to sell it to the dungeon, I could get back half what it would cost me to buy it from the dungeon store,¡± he asks back.
¡°Yes, and it can also be applied to any other item within the store, but understand you can¡¯t get it back afterwards if you decide to change your mind,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Understandable,¡± he thinks when.

¡°Well that makes it easier, now you just have to go to town and buy some random thing,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°Indeed, but now we have another problem,¡± he says back.
¡°What,¡± the dungeon core asks back.
¡°I don¡¯t have any money,¡± he says back, causing a moment of awkward silence.
¡°WHAT, YOU DON¡¯T HAVE ANY MONEY!¡± the dungeon core yells.
¡°Yes, I''m only eight, remember, actually, I have about 2 copper coins, but if I remember a common iron sword is at least 5 copper coins, I''m three short,¡± he says back to the dungeon core as if it were the most logical thing in the world.
The money in arrerat is split into copper coins, silver coins, gold coins, platinum coins, Orichalcum coins and diamond coins with a conversion rate of 10 copper coins to 1 silver coin, 10 silver to 1 gold, 10 gold to 1 platinum, 100 platinum to 1 orichalcum and 1000 orichalcum to 1 diamond. Orichalcum, however, is the highest used currency as the few diamond coins that exist are commonly used as national treasures instead.
¡°Well that is indeed a problem, wait, I have an idea, open up your status,¡± says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan.

¡°Oh, you¡¯ve only scratched the surface, the dungeon interface has a lot of functions that you can¡¯t even dream of accessing yet, lottery, however, is one of the few unique ones as it will only show up in the store tab when you can use it¡± says the dungeon core back with a hint of contempt, surprising Dylan.
¡°Okay, so what does the lottery tab do,¡± he asks back.
¡°Well if you click on it, you have the chance to win any item from the store, there is even the slim chance of getting dungeon points and coins, however, there is also the chance of getting nothing so be careful,¡± says the dungeon core, once again surprising Dylan.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
¡°Wow, anything, let''s do it now,¡± he says as he clicks the tab, a series of numbers start to swirl rapidly changing so fast that Dylan can¡¯t clearly see them until.
| Item No. 704 Humans of Fire |
A bright flash descends and a book appears in his hands with the title Humans of Fire, leaving only silence.
¡°Bad luck huh,¡± says the dungeon core.
¡°I guess so, I haven¡¯t even heard of this book before, what am I supposed to do with it,¡± he asks back.
¡°Well some information about this book just went into my head, this book is a book from the artisan Empire, it is a fantasised version of the story of how their ancestors came to their kingdoms land and how they gained the unique class living flame,¡± says the dungeon core.
The avraisan Empire is a kingdom to the north of the idrappateron Dynasty, past the vrix Wood which was the forest just outside Fallholt village, Dylan''s hometown, the avraisan Empire has vast land but most of it is volcanic territory, because of there is a large amount of farming land but there is also the massive threat of volcanic eruptions, not to mention one of the 5 SSS class danger zones The Scarlet Wilds, as for the dungeons that exist in that land, it has one of the 7 SS class dungeons Caverns of the Renegade Dragon.
Dylan had naturally known all this about the avraisan Empire as Fallholt village was near the border between avraisan Empire and idrappateron Dynasty so many traders came through to his village on their way to the capital.
¡°Well let''s see, the price for this book is about three copper coins if I''m lucky, maybe I can buy an iron sword,¡± says Dylan as he starts walking.
2 days later
Located in the middle of a forest, completely surrounded by trees isolating it from the outside world a small village stands, this small village only had about five to six buildings in it and had two strange archways at each corner, a single road leads in and out, it had a single large building in the middle with the words Workers of the Dragon illuminated above it and spinning like a projection. Two blacksmiths stand to it¡¯s left and right, on the other side of the right one was a small building which had a sign saying Convenience Store and on the other side of the left was a second building nearly as large as the center one with a sign saying The Good Moon, it¡¯s a tavern. Surrounding these buildings is a giant wooden wall.
On top of a wall, a small gathering of people was talking.
¡°Hey, did you hear about Ocean Paladins being wiped out by Lurking Shadow Catacombs,¡± says a person.
¡°Yeah, apparently there were no survivors,¡± says a second person.
¡°Well isn¡¯t that bad, but that¡¯s the life of an adventurer, they knew what they were signing up for,¡± says a third person.
¡°Yeah but I heard that the kingdoms dispatched the Red Regiment and the Robed Riders divisions of the imperial forth army also known as the The Blood Battalion,¡± says a fourth person.
The armies in the idrappateron Dynasty are organised into nine forces collectively called as the imperial armies, there numbered from 1 - 9 respectively and each one has its own nickname. The fourth imperial army is called the blood battalion because they have a saying, if you join the blood battalion, you will be lucky to make it to the battlefield alive. This saying originated from the fact that more people die in this battalion by ¡°accidents¡± in things like regular training then on the battlefield.
¡°So they dispatched that group, let''s hope that everything goes smoothly,¡± says a fifth person.
The blood battalion is primarily made up of three kinds of people, none of which are good. The first are death row or life imprisoned prisoners who have decided instead of being executed or staying in the prison for the rest of their life to join the army, they will forever remain footsoldiers and can never retire from the army. The second are nobles who have committed similar sins to the first kind but are too powerful to be punished publicly so the kingdom forcefully conscripts them to this army, this kind commonly brings bodyguards as ¡°protection¡±. The third kind are enemy soldiers captured from battles, they have a seal placed on them that turns them into bloodthirsty killers. the first and third also have slave marks branded onto them to control them.
¡°Heavens know it won¡¯t, that''s why the imperial second armies Hellfire Legion and 3 paladin knights from the imperial first armies Silver Squad are there to watch them,¡± says a sixth person.
The first and second imperial army are fundamentally different from the fourth imperial army though as the first imperial army is an elite army in charge of protecting the imperial capital and are composed of elites from the other eight armies minus the fourth, eighth and ninth armies and the top members of the academies run by the dynasty, the second army, however, is made out of seasoned veterans and war heroes and anyone who wants to see the battlefield will join this army, it has the most people and is in charge of most invasions into other kingdoms, these two armies are collectively known as the shield and sword of the empire.
¡°Wow, so they''re taking this dungeon seriously,¡± says the first person.
¡°Well they better, they were too slow in realising this so fallholt, quickwallow, mythcrest and limewood, a total of four villages were eradicated, that''s a massive stain on the dynasties honour,¡± says the third person.
¡°Plus I''ve heard rumours, apparently a lich was seen, and not just any lich but a hellfire lich,¡± says the second person wearily scaring the other five people.
¡°you mean, there is possibly the S- class monster Hellfire lich which is supposed to only be found in the legendary SSS danger zone zokkrokkuud the grand necropolis,¡± says the fifth person.
¡°Well I mean, there were records that at the bottom floor, just before you completed the dungeon you had to defeat a hellfire lich but no one in the past hundred years has reached that floor let alone the final room which it was rumoured to stand guard over,¡± says the second person.
¡°Which shows why the dynasty is so on edge and want to deal with it, it¡¯s set as a boss monster so if inside the dungeon it can respawn an unlimited amount of time as long as the dungeon core isn¡¯t destroyed but once outside the dungeon, if killed, it¡¯s gone¡± says the fourth person.
These six people were so happily talking that they didn¡¯t notice a strange figure emerge from the forest onto the road.
¡°Geez, that dungeon core could have told me it would take a full 2 days to reach the closest town, um, excuse me, could you let me in,¡± says a voice which startles the six men, causing them to turn and look at the other side of the gate.
All guild towns have a gate which stays closed at all times in an attempt to keep monsters that escape the dungeon contained, of course, if the monster is strong enough the gate won¡¯t do anything.
Standing at the other side of the gate was a boy of about eight years old, it was Dylan.
¡°Huh, boy, what are you doing here, were you the one who asked to be let in,¡± asks the first person, surprised at what he saw.
¡°Yes, is there anyone else here who wants to be let in beside me,¡± he says back.
¡°Well you¡¯ve got spunk talking like that to us, we¡¯re all D rank adventurers here, and this is a dungeon town, go home, wait, where are you¡¯re parents, you couldn¡¯t have travelled 3 days from fairpoint village to here alone,¡± says the third person surprising Dylan.
¡°Did you just say that were 3 days travel from fairpoint village,¡± he asks back.
¡°Huh, do you not come from fairpoint village, where do you come from then boy,¡± asks the sixth person suspiciously.
¡°Oh shoot, better not let them know I came out of the forest, um lets see, this is a dungeon town so if I make an excuse that I want to join this adventurers guild¡± he thinks to himself ¡°well um, i wanted to become an adventurer so I ran away from home to join this guild¡± he says leaving the six people on the wall shocked.
¡°Don¡¯t kid yourself, kid, go back home, you¡¯re parents must be worried sick,¡± says the third person.
The argument to gain entry took several more hours before Dylan was finally allowed entrance but unbeknownst to him, as soon as he took a step in.
Inside a small room, a mysterious figure can be seen. they were sitting in a luxurious room that looked like it was in the deep unknown wilderness. The figure was munching on some food before their dungeon control panel sent out an urgent message surprising the figure.
While in another small room, a different strange figure was reading a book, he was in another luxurious room but unlike the first, it was more like a swamp than a forest, wet and damp with a mist covering the floor, the same event happened and he to was surprised by the urgent message.
The message was in bold and was all capitals
