《Heroic Necromancer》
The Heros Name
Chapter 1
It was a normal day on the farm for the boy who is to be known as the Heroic Necromancer, playing around with his friends Lance and Anna. Lance named for the famous hero who lead the paladin order against the Lich Emperor, Yongye, while Anna is well¡
¡°Take that! Mud pie to the face, Boo yeah!¡± a tomboy to say least, and as for the future lord of darkness well he ¡°Ow Anna that had a rock in it.¡± is a bit of a cry-baby.
¡°Man up Farm boy or you¡¯ll never get strong!¡± Said Anna proudly.
Now for one of the best parts onto appearances! We¡¯ll start with the oldest of the trio: Anna is a growing young woman at the age of 23 and is considered a rare beauty by travellers and villagers alike with fiery red hair, and very nice curves. She is simply put, stunning, at least to the scion of darkness. Lance is brunette with a tall lanky frame and all muscle, trained since birth (or at least since he found out the origin of his name) to be a sword master, aspiring to live up to the honour of having a hero¡¯s name. P.s He¡¯s 22 and Anna¡¯s brother. Finally the dark lord is a 20 year old dirty blonde, slightly pudgy (he still has some baby fat) medium build country bumpkin with distinctive black lines in his iris that denote his magical affinity (its darkness in case you¡¯re wondering).
¡°Go easy on him Anna, you know he isn¡¯t as fast as you.¡± admonished Lance
¡°Easy for you to say, you can at least dodge my Ultimate Pie of Mud attack.¡± replied Anna, while gathering mud to make another one.
¡°Since when was throwing a mud pie an ultimate attack.¡±
¡°Since NOW!¡± Said Anna as she threw the newly made mud pie into Lances face. With a quick reaction Lance moved his head and upper body slightly to the side to dodge the attack but in doing so took his eyes of Anna. Quick as a snake she sprinted the few steps in between them and dumped an armful of mud over Lance, covering his head and part of his chest.
When the man who will give birth to armies of undead saw that, he laughed so hard he started to run out of breath.
¡°Not cool Anna, do you know how long it is going to take to clean my clothes?¡± Complained Lance.
¡°About as long as you are going to spend on some fancy new hairdo¡± Replied Anna smirking.
¡°Hey, the Heroes of legend always have some sort of heaven defying hair, mine just doesn¡¯t want to stay in place yet¡± Retorted Lance with fake indignation.
¡°Sure, Sure whatever you say Hero wannabe.¡± Said Anna while trying to hold back a laugh.
¡°Hey you guys better leave soon before it gets dark, I¡¯ve heard some nasty rumours about villagers disappearing lately and I don¡¯t want to go the harvest festival on my own next week.¡± The (future) grand mage of the undead said.
¡°humph¡± Snorted Lance ¡°as if Anna would let you go to that alone, she¡¯s afraid Margret would take you away.¡±
¡°LANCE!¡± Shouted Anna embarrassed.
¡°That¡¯s what you get for ruining my clothes¡± teased Lance as he finished wiping the mud off of himself. Again taking his eyes off her to wipe some mud that landed on his pants. All Lance felt was a thump on his back then he was eating mud like a pig.
¡°Humph, that¡¯s what you get for teasing me¡± Said Anna as she crossed her arms and looked away.
The Scion of Death helped his friend up then sent them both on their way while chuckling to himself.
However he didn¡¯t make it halfway to his house before he heard a scream. Realising it was Anna he turned around and bolted in the direction they went. While he kept mumbling to himself ¡°please be alright, please be alright¡± he heard Lance shout ¡°YOU BASTARD! HOW DARE YOU!¡± it was then that he came upon the scene.
Lance was bleeding from his left shoulder which looked like it was broken it multiple places and holding a tree branch in his right, jabbing futilely at a man (?) in a brown robe. Anna was lying on the ground bleeding out from an earthen spike in her gut. Just as the Heroic reinforcement rushed forward the man (?) sidestepped a jab and uppercut Lance knocking him out cold. Blinded by rage at seeing the state his friends were in Darkness Incarnate began grappling with the man (?) trying to force him to the ground. The man (?) proved to be too strong however, and threw him back a few metres where he landed on the ground with a thud.Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
When he looked up the man (?) had already finished chanting for another earth spike and went to throw it at him before he got up. The man (?) never got the chance as a gleaming sword pierced him from behind and the last thing the (future) undead master saw was a shining white head before he passed out.
He awoke to voices shouting and arguing a few metres away.
¡°What do you mean she can¡¯t go back to the village?!¡± Cried Lance
¡°Exactly as I said young one.¡± Spoke an old wise Voice ¡°She has already turned into a monster and its best if she comes with me to learn to control her appetite.¡±
¡°YOU¡¯RE THE BASTARD WHO TURNED HER INTO ONE NOW CHANGE HER BACK!¡±
It was at this point that the soon to be necromancer sat up and looked around.
¡°Don¡¯t move so quickly, young one, you hit your head pretty hard when you hit the ground¡± Said the kindly voice as it approached him.
¡°HEY, DON¡¯T IGNORE ME!¡± Shouted Lance
He heard a clacking sound as he looked in the direction of the voices and saw an old man covered in black robes, a shining white skeleton blocking Lance from moving forward and finally the most beautiful sight he could see Anna, alive and well. As Lance and the old man continued arguing, he just stared at Anna taking in the sight of the girl he loves. With her legs and arms without blemish, no giant hole in her stomach and blood covered lips with a feral look in her eyes as she stared at him. He felt happy until she rushed him and bit his arm.
His scream stopped the two arguing as they looked in his direction and then quickly acted to get Anna off him.
During the brief tussle Anna was pierced by the skeleton and her blood flowed into his mouth before he could even question why it stabbed her.
With a chunk of his arm in her mouth and chewing happily, the (future) undead lord decided it was time to get some answers.
¡°What the hell just happened? He asked
¡°Allow me to explain.¡± Said the old man ¡°I came across your battle with that rogue earth mage just as I was on my way home with my newest acquisition¡± at this point he gestures to the skeleton ¡°and decided to help. Well, all I did was order Francis here to stab the mage then I checked on the conditions of you three and used lesser aqua healing to fix what wounds I could. However the girl was too far gone and not wanting to pass up my chance to test my newly advanced spell I sort of used it to bring her back to life¡± he said sheepishly ¡°now she is a high ghoul one tier below a ghoul lord¡±
¡°Yeah thanks for the help old man¡± Lance said sarcastically ¡°now turn her back so we can be on our way¡±
¡°It¡¯s not that simple Lance.¡± Soon to be Undead Summoner cut in before the old man could speak ¡°According to the information my parents have, a ghoul can only rank up into a human if they so choose but they need to be at least a ghoul lord before they¡¯re able too.¡±
¡°So what I¡¯m supposed to accept the fact that she¡¯s a flesh eating monstrosity now?!¡± Replied Lance angrily.
¡°Yes.¡± Both the old man and deaths favourite son said together.
After listening to his friend whose parents were both S class adventures and knowing what he said to be true, Lance began to breakdown. ¡°I¡¯d rather it, if she died then!¡± Lance cried as tears began streaming down his face. He picked up the branch he was using before while sobbing to himself and began to approach his sister.
¡°You¡¯re not even going to hurt her, boy.¡± Sighed the old man ¡°she is a B class creature minimum and you need to at least have a second or third tier class before you can¡± He then turned to face the Hero of the dea (future) to make sure he was still alright.
Lance ignoring the old man¡¯s words continued to approach his sister. Her eyes snapped open to stare at him as she slowly stopped chewing. Faced with his dead sisters¡¯ stare Lance raised his arm to strike¡¡.
But couldn¡¯t bring himself too. Crying he dropped the branch and hugged her surprising the old man who shouted out ¡°Wait!¡± but she did nothing not even glance at him and closed her eyes savouring the taste of the flesh once again.
¡°That¡¯s surprising¡± the old man muttered ¡°normally, freshly made ghouls can¡¯t control their hunger and attack any living thing in range¡±
¡°That¡¯s because she¡¯s now my familiar¡± said a young voice to his side ¡°it happened a little while after you finished healing my arm¡±
The old man stared, shocked at his future apprentice ¡°But that¡¯s impossible to make a high ghoul your familiar you would need a high Darkness affinity and 10000 mana minimum even I only have a little under 9000.¡± he screeched with his voice going higher in pitch as he continued talking
¡°Names Ben want to teach me about necromancy?¡± Asked the now finally named Main Character
¡°Uh, Uh.. Uh¡ Uh¡± the old man stuttered. However after looking into the boys eyes and seeing the black flecks within he realised this boy could by an even more powerful necromancer than himself!
Lance of course chose this moment to interrupt ¡°why would you want to learn a nasty thing like necromancy?¡±
¡°Because it is the only Class which goes with my affinity that does not involve implicitly hurting people.¡± replied Nero.
Lanced sighed then said ¡°If you go down this path then I¡¯ll train to become a dark paladin, to take care of you and Anna of course¡± hugging her tighter when he said her name.
¡°Your affinity is lesser light, hurry up and become a paladin so my undead can beat you down¡± laughed Nero
¡°As if I¡¯d lose to a bunch of bones.¡± Laughed Lance as he got up from hugging his sister.
The old man said nothing during this exchange because he could see the pain behind the boy¡¯s smiles and the hurt they were hiding.
¡°Oh and Nero if you can¡¯t turn her human, I will find her and end her myself.¡± Lance left behind as he walked away toward his home.
¡°So old man¡± Ben/Nero asked ¡°where are we going?¡±
Class Change and Surprising Status
The old man, Ben, Francis and Anna were trekking through the forest after leaving the road from Ben¡¯s family farm to Straten a while back. Anna was still chewing and rolling the piece of flesh she bit off Ben inside her mouth.
¡°Old man I¡¯m surprised, really, shouldn¡¯t necromancers be hiding away in a deep damp cave slaughtering any innocents that they come across?¡± Ben asked. ¡°Not rescuing them?¡±
¡°Sigh, you young ones and maybe even the old ones¡± Here he laughed sadly ¡°don¡¯t know that necromancy is split into three factions: Immortalists, Warmongers and Body hunters.¡± It seemed the old man had decided to use Bens question as a pretext for a lecture ¡°Body Hunters are just as the name describes: they hunt bigger and badder creatures or people to turn into powerful undead, Warmongers are your common verity of necromancers, they usually follow three simple steps: Get a large amount of corpses, turn undead and repeat, Immortalists which I am considered apart of don¡¯t really bother civilisation much and instead focus on finding ways to cheat death.¡± Explained the old man
¡°That doesn¡¯t answer my question though.¡± Replied Ben.
¡°Doesn¡¯t it?¡± questioned the old man ¡°when you think of the goals of each group, it isn¡¯t hard to see that most see people as nothing more than experimental fodder.¡± Here he signed again ¡°But like in anything which involves people there are different views on how far is too far. Take me for example I will not kill a person of an enlightened race, monsters however¡¡¡± the old man trailed off looking ahead as if sensing something.
Suddenly Anna moved in front of Ben while Francis charged ahead into the brush. Ben worried about what had happened to Anna in that short interval quickly checked her over and found a dart in her arm. ¡°Goblins¡± he muttered nasty pests. A few squeals and the clacking of bones later reveals Francis dragging the dead body of a goblin hunter by the head with a few goblin warriors on his shoulders. ¡°Excellent!¡± cried the old man ¡°I was missing some fresh corpses, Francis be a dear and carry them home please.¡± Francis seemed to look at the old may in a way that said why you think I¡¯m carrying them. The old man pretended not to notice.
¡°Anyway as I was saying¡± continued the old man as they resumed their journey ¡°I won¡¯t kill someone from the enlightened races however I think you can find many examples of people who do. Now I¡¯m not saying they are bad people they are just well¡¡± He smiled with a strained smile ¡°bad people. Very few necromancers have my view of the world and choose to use necromancy in any way which benefits them. This has caused the reputation of necromancers to plummet around the world and we¡¯re very lucky to be in a country which tolerates necromancers rather than outright kill them.¡± At this point in the lecture the group of four and three corpses arrived at a cave with a wooden barricade in front. The old man didn¡¯t even stop to admire the scenery he just waved his hand and the barricade started to float up. ¡°Well don¡¯t just stand there come along.¡± He said while gesturing the trio standing outside to follow.
After shifting the corpses on his shoulders a bit Francis followed his master in. Ben seemingly wracked with the weight of the decision he was about to make, took a deep breath then charged into the darkness. Anna just gulped then sniffed the air for a while before bolting after Ben.
Tackling Ben from behind just as they reach the end of the tunnel and arrive in what seems to be the living room of the magus, she bit into Bens shoulder and ripped another chunk of his flesh off which she then proceeded to chew on happily.
His scream from being bitten altered the old man who ran to the room they were in and saw Anna chewing and sitting on Ben¡¯s back while he was bleeding out. He didn¡¯t even stop to question what she was chewing, having already guessed, and proceeded to cast lesseraquaheal on Ben.
After three casts to mend the shoulder and restore what was being eaten, with a little wrestling to get Anna off himself, Ben finally had the chance to look around the room. All he saw was a single earthen wall across from where he entered a wooden table with a few chairs (three to be precise), three passage ways, two leading off on either side of the room and the one which he came down, and finally a worried old man staring at him. When Ben¡¯s tears subsided he said ¡°I¡¯m assuming the one on the left is the laboratory what with the stench and all.¡±If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
The old man chuckled for a bit before replying ¡°heh, you¡¯re right kid but that part you will learn about later, for now let¡¯s get you up and your Class.¡± After which he proceeded to help Ben up and half carry him down the right path.
¡°I¡¯m assuming you know how to get the job right?¡± Asked the old man
Ben snorted then said ¡°of course just because I don¡¯t have one now, doesn¡¯t mean I don¡¯t know how to get one. I just need to pray at the appropriate statue of whichever god the Class is governed by.¡±
¡°Correct in one go young one. And here is where I keep my statue of the goddess Altea, Queen of the Dammed, Dead and the Void.¡± The old man said with reverence. The room they were in is a side passage, barely bigger than an alcove, connected to the main passage way they were using. And of course Anna tagged along. The statue itself depicted an inhumanly beautiful naked woman with the precious parts on top covered by a raven and goat fighting and the bottom part covered by a skull.
¡°So I just kneel here and pray?¡± Ben asked the old man, on his knees in front of the statue.
¡°Yep and if you¡¯re lucky you might get a vision of meeting the goddess herself!¡± He chuckled to himself. ¡®As if that will happen¡¯ he thought ¡®I had to pass level 80 before she would deign to speak to me¡¯
Ben prayed the Class change prayer which every enlightened being know upon their birth: ¡°O Holy One whom I have decided to follow, please do me the favour of changing me to a Class to befit your brilliance.¡± The statues eyes came alive with a black light which quickly blasted out and covered Ben, head to toe.
Ben blinked his eyes open and found himself in a large black nothingness. After turning his head left and right, he caught sight of a woman more beautiful than the statue, however there were marked differences. The raven was sitting on her left shoulder instead of fighting with the goat which is now sitting opposite on her right shoulder and skull had moved up to her belly.
Realising she was bare before him, our patron of the dead blushed furiously then looked away. Oh she was also 23ft tall.
¡°Fufufu, Young one you do not need to be shy, you come for my patronage after all¡±
Hearing her slightly seductive and mesmerising voice, Ben looked back at the goddess and through sheer force of will only sneaked a peek at her other parts before settling on her face.
Smiling at his antics the goddess let him be till he had his fill (of course the peeking failed she¡¯s an inhuman beauty, everyone would be tempted).
¡°Why did you bring me here?¡± Asked Ben ¡°Gods and Goddesses don¡¯t usually talk to their followers till at least level 50, unless¡¡¡±
¡°Correct.¡± Altea stated ¡°I want you to be my champion¡±
¡°I refuse.¡± Ben stated without hesitation.
¡°Why?¡± asked the now thoroughly perplexed goddess.
¡°Because Champions usually have to do some insane quest, rite or some other such thing for their god.¡± Ben stated ¡°Most of which I would be unable to complete.¡±
The goddess laughed after hearing his answer and replied to him ¡°although other gods may do so I do not, the only thing I require of my champion is to love all life even though he must take it.¡±
¡°That¡¯s why your champions are so rare¡¡.¡± he muttered to himself.
¡°Still no though, can I have my class please?¡± he said turning to face the goddess again.
Smiling the goddess said ¡°sure, and take the bonus too.¡± She then waved her hand and darkness covered Ben¡¯s eyes.
When he opened them he realised that he was back on his knees in front of the statue.
¡°Well m¡¯boy now that you got your class, time you showed this old coot your status.¡±
Ben wondering what bonus the goddess talked about, and wishing to get advice from the old man, Ben said ¡°Show Status!¡±
Suddenly a blue panel appeared in front of Ben detailing his stats class and new title. The old man looked over Bens shoulder to see the screen and his reaction was to immediately faint. Ben couldn¡¯t blame because even he was shocked over what the screen said:
| Name: Ben/Nero Skylark |
Title: Altea''s Champion |
| Class: Necromancer |
Level: 1 |
| STR: 15 (14) |
INT: 15 (14) |
| VIT: 15 (14) |
WIS: 15 (14) |
| CON 15 (14) |
CHA: 15 (14) |
| HEALTH: [27] |
MANA: [27] |
And then Anna decided to bite his leg.
Annas Rage and First Spell
The screaming woke the old man up however, since he was a necromancer and was used to such noises, it didn¡¯t fully wake him. The sound of bones snapping did clear the remaining sleepiness surrounding his mind and what he saw made him want to scream in anger.
Anna had once again pinned Ben to the ground but unlike before where she was chewing a piece of flesh now she was chewing his entire left FOOT! Ben having just passed out due to blood loss, from Anna¡¯s earlier and current escapade was in a state of near death.
¡°HE JUST BECAME MILADYS CHAMPION AND NOW YOUR EATING HIM?!!!¡±
Anna just tilted her head at the old man then continued to savour Ben¡¯s flesh.
¡°ARRGH!¡± Screamed the old man ¡°Unfit whore I should never have revived you!!¡± I would like to point out that the old man is now making shooing gestures with his arms.
Anna narrowed her eyes at the old man.
¡°Get off him! RIGHT! NOW!¡± He shouted right in her face. ¡°You young worthless ghoul!¡±
Anna her eyes having a dangerous glint in them, proceeded to slowly stand up. She even stopped chewing.
¡°Humph, that¡¯s how an undead should behave.¡± The old man said arrogantly ¡°now let me see just how bad his wound is.¡± Pushing Anna out of the way. After a examining the wound and casting lesser aqua heal (repeatedly) to stop the bleeding, the old man began his assessment ¡°Jagged cut along the leg severing half his shin bone and foot, small bone fragments in his muscle around the shin bone, 12 in total and torn perfectly good ligaments. Terrible job, she must still be under the effects of a newly raised undead to be this bad.¡±
Unknown to the old man while he was treating (?) Ben, Anna had put the foot she was chewing before down and began circling around him. He did notice however when he found himself missing an arm and half his leg. ¡°W-w-w-w-what the hell-l-l-l-l???¡± He stuttered with eyes opened wide.
¡°That is what you get for insulting me.¡± Said Anna while picking up the leg she put down before ¡°oh, and if you tell him I can talk I will do, a whole lot worse.¡± She smiled with a sweet smile drenched in Ben¡¯s blood and wasn¡¯t so sweet.
Terrified by the power she had just displayed and fearful for his life the old man spammed lesser aqua heal on himself to connect his missing limbs back together.
However he now had no mana to treat Ben even though a lesser heal had no power to restore a lost limb it could¡¯ve still sealed the wound but due to his research and curiosity over his god¡¯s new champion he refrained from doing so.
Luckily by some twist of fate Ben¡¯s eyes fluttered open and he regained consciousness. After a second to recollect his thoughts Ben starred daggers at his familiar who blithely ignored him and continued chewing on his foot. ¡°Sigh at least ask before ripping my foot off Anna, I know you could do at least that much.¡± Ben said staring at her. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
Anna slightly shocked over her ability to talk having been found out so suddenly, quickly looked away. ¡°You know you¡¯re my blood bonded familiar so I do know your basic thoughts right?¡± Her face which Ben only saw from the side was pinkish after he previously spoke now became a deep red colour. To quickly hide her embarrassment she fled back into the tunnel. With his foot of course.
¡°I don¡¯t know whether to praise you for making that girl embarrassed, or feel terrified.¡± The old man muttered after watching that scene.
¡°She became my familiar through a blood bond, different to you and Francis, our minds will always be connected till the day one of us dies.¡± Ben Stated ¡°Anyway on to learning, I gained one spell with the class change Raise Undead.¡±
¡°Ah yes¡± the old man praised ¡°our Class¡¯s staple spell, you will need a corpse and 30 mana to cast it, however your maximum is a bit¡.¡± The old man trailed off seeing Ben¡¯s outrageous stats again.
¡°I know my stats are outrageous for someone my age, since the average stat number is eleven for common villagers, however my parents are anything but ordinary, and they left me with a nifty treat for when I choose my class.¡± At this point Ben rolled up his sleeve on his right arm and a gleaming red and black armlet appeared.
¡°Is that a¡¡.¡± the old man asked dumbfounded.
¡°Yep¡± said Ben ¡°but this isn¡¯t what I was talking about.¡± at which point Ben focused his mana on the gleaming band and six potions appeared out of thin air. ¡°Oh wait, better to get something to heal this foot.¡± And suddenly a seventh potion appeared next to the original six.
¡°t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y¡± The old man stuttered
¡°Yes, these are legendary Stat increasing potions, one for each stat, and a master crafted elixir of healing!¡± Ben said proudly. The wealth this boy just displayed seemed to fry the old man¡¯s brain.
¡®Just one of these potions would cause small kingdoms to wage a war over them¡¯ he thought ¡®who the hell is this kids parents?!¡¯
After quaffing the potions down, and watching part of his leg and foot regrow, Ben¡¯s maximum mana now had enough mana to cast a single spell. ¡°Hey old man, you don¡¯t mind if I borrow one of the goblin corpses right?¡±
The old man could only nod dumbly too shocked by Ben to do anything else. He was still trying to process everything this man had done in a few hours.
Ben smiling happily left the room and went off into the cave to find the goblins.
*At the place where the Earth Mage ambushed Anna and Lance*
A cloaked figure landed on the ground near the place where the earth mage died.
The figure raised its hands above the bloodstains left on the ground from Anna eating. It then mumbled an incomprehensible chant.
something began rising from the ground.
¡°Damn old man¡± the figure cursed, now completed whatever summoning spell it had performed. "how dare he destroy my flesh golem, and I spent so long imbuining it with enough intelligence to cast basic earth spells.¡± Here it teared up a bit before lookingat the thing it just raised.
¡°At least there was enough matter left behind to give you some of her abilities.¡± It stated looking at the creature. ¡°Now go hunt the one¡¯s that killed your kin.¡±
The figure gestured for it to go into the forest however the creature just ran straight past it and slaughtered a random bunny. ¡°It¡¯s going to be a long night.¡± The figure sighed ¡°why couldn¡¯t it have at least some of the brains of the golem?¡±
Bill The First Skeleton
Ben humming happily to himself found Anna outside of the Altar room still completely embarrassed crouched down with her head in her arms. ¡°C¡¯mon Anna, stop mopping I¡¯m not mad you know?¡± Ben said to the distraught monster girl. She merely buried he head in her arms further. ¡°I¡¯m going to make my first undead, you want to come along?¡± he nudged her as he talked.
She raised her head slightly at those words but still faced the ground. ¡°I thought by hiding it, I could continue to eat you, without you minding, because you would only think of me as a brainless monster¡.¡± She began to cry after saying that. Ben seeing her crying started to laugh not the giggling someone gets when they¡¯re trying not too but a full blown belly laugh.
Anna completely perplexed at his action and taking offense at the fact he was laughing at her, slowly raised her tear-stained face. Ben opened his mouth to speak but before he could do soshesocked him right in the gut. The unexpected hit from Anna broke a few ribs, ruptured an organ as well as sent him flying down the hall landing in the room where they originally entered at the feet of a perplexed Francis. ¡°Oof, glad she held back¡± He muttered, rubbing his deformed belly and lower ribs ¡°that would have hurt more if she didn¡¯t.¡± Francis just looked at the man with a look that seemed to say Nah Da Idiot, What did you think it might feel comfortable?
Ben slowly climbed to his feet after drinking another expensive elixir. Suddenly the sound of a stampede was heard as Anna ran down the tunnel toward Ben. ¡°Ssssssoooooorrrrrrrryyyyyyyy¡± with that statement and all of 0.2 seconds to brace himself, Anna tackled Ben flying down the next tunnel and landing in the pile of goblin corpses.
¡°Anna for love of all living things, mostly me, PLEASE learn how to control your strength.¡± BenShouted before spitting out a mouthful of blood.
¡°Ahh, not again I¡¯m very sorry!¡± Anna cried before trying to wipe the blood off him. Ben terrified for his life and knowing that the elixirs effect was running out, quickly moved away from Anna to the side of the room. ¡°Nope, nope, nope, nope, NOPE. No touching me till your strength is under control.¡± He said terrified.
Anna merely pouted at him. ¡°I¡¯m not that bad.¡±
¡°Every single time you have touched me ever since you became a ghoul has resulted in an injury, with increasing seriousness and deadliness. I would have died from that tackle if I wasn¡¯t under the effects of the healing elixir.¡± Ben retorted. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Still pouting at him, trying to force his conscience to have a guilty feeling, Ben returned her stare with one of righteous anger and indignation. He failed. But she stilled rolled hers eyes and said ¡°Man up Farm boy or you¡¯ll never get strong¡± before she started to look around the room. That just so happens to be when the stench of what she landed in reached the part of her brain that said whether it was a good smell or bad one. She gagged and quickly left the pile.
Now that Anna had left the pile of rotting corpses in the middle of the doorway to a fairly large cavern Ben could look around a bit. ¡®Probably his experimental lab¡¯ Ben thought.
The cavern wasn¡¯t that wide or long about half a kilometre either way, with longwise being slightly longer. They couldn¡¯t see too far (well Ben couldn¡¯t) because the light of the torch only extended about 2 metres away from the doorway.
Francis chose this moment to walk out from tunnel they went flying down and looked at Ben with his somehow all-knowing skull that does not yet does show emotion, that seemed to say Oi practice on them and don¡¯t touch anything else!
Not knowing what he did to deserve such a look Ben proceeded to stand up and walk closer to the corpses. Under Francis¡¯s and Anna¡¯s supervision of course.
With that he casted his first and only spell currently ¡°Raise Undead!¡± nothing happed for 3 seconds then a window appeared in front of Ben:
| Please Choose Option: |
| Basic: Skeleton: 30 Mana |
| Adept: Zombie: 100 Mana (locked due to level) |
| Master: Abomination: 1000 Mana (locked due to level) |
He studied the options for a bit before selecting: Basic.
Suddenly the corpse on top of the pile began to shake and shudder. Falling off the other two corpses its flesh began to melt or disappear causing Anna to comment on what a waste it was.
When the flesh stopped melting (or disappearing) all that was left was gleaming the white bones of a goblins corpse. The bones stood up and turned towards its summoner ¡°What shall I do for you master?¡±
¡°hahahahahaHAHAHA, My first servant already ready and willing!¡± Ben shouted happily
¡°Shouldn¡¯t we name it?¡± Asked Anna
¡°hmm¡± thought Ben with a hand on his chin ¡°you¡¯re right for my first summon it should have a name!your name shall be ¨C¡° He said turning towards the skeleton
¡°Bill.¡± Anna said cutting him off
¡°what no?!¡± Cried Ben ¡°Why bill?!¡±
Suddenly a notification appeared in front of Ben:
| Contractor has named Ben¡¯s Summoned Skeleton, SummonedSkeleton''snew name is Bill |
¡°NOOOOOO!!!!!!!¡± Ben cried with tears in his eyes as he fell to his knees.
¡°But I¡¯m a girl though?¡± said Bill tilting her skull.
Anna in her complete and utter embarrassment of naming a girl Bill, punchedher killing the newly formed Skeleton and causing Ben to have a mana backlash which knocked him out.
Familiar Bonds
Before Ben awoke, he felt a strange sensation in three of his four limbs. It felt like they were there but not. Wanting to figure out what had happened Ben started to open his eyes. ¡°You¡¯re awake.¡± Said a relieved voice above him.
With his eyes finally open Ben focused on the first thing he saw, which was Anna smiling. Ben however didn¡¯t see the relief or happiness in the smile all he saw was the blood coating her lips and teeth.
Anna moved from her spot next to him and sat on his chest asking a lot of questions ¡°What was up with that notification about Bill? What exactly is our contract? Why do I love eating you? What the heck is going on? ANSWER ME!!!!¡± At this point she began shaking him. Ben still in his half shocked state tried to stop Anna but could only wave his right arm around wildly.
¡°Calm down! Calm down! I¡¯ll tell you! I¡¯ll tell you! Stop shaking me!!!¡± He cried. Anna calmed by his cries stopped shaking him however she still kept a tight grip on his shoulder and stub.
Ben finally having a moment to figure out what was going on realised why his limbs felt weird. HE ONLY HAD ONE! ¡°WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO?! ANNA!!!¡±. Surprised by his shout Anna flinched backwards causing a chain reaction which ended up with an angry Ben on top of herself.
¡°Explain. Slowly.¡± Looking at the smouldering rage in Ben¡¯s eyes as he said that, Anna felt afraid.
¡°I-I-I-I-I-I-I¡± Stuttering under the pressure from his stare Anna couldn¡¯t speak.
¡°You¡¯ve been out for three days boy¡± said the old man from the side ¡°Anna said for each day you don¡¯t wake up she was going to eat your limbs.¡±
¡°Then what was going to happen after the fourth?¡± He sent the question to the old man but kept staring at Anna.
¡°I uh didn¡¯t think that far¡..¡± Anna replied quietly under that frightening stare.
Ben sighed and closed his eyes. When he opened them the rage was gone and he was back to normal. ¡°Anna help me out to get a healing potion from the storage.¡± Ben asked. When the old man saw the expensive healing potion quaffed down as if it was a drink, he choked on his own rage. This novel is published on a different platform. ¡°Now I¡¯m going to explain things slowly, so Anna pay attention!¡± Ben snapped at her when he caught sight of her eyeing his regrowing arms. ¡°The reason you find my flesh delicious and the reason you got the notification about Bill is because of the contract. Quick question where is Bill?¡±
¡°Anna killed her¡± the old man said ¡°you should¡¯ve received a notification to revive your minion if possible.¡± Ben checked, found the notification and sent most of his mana in reviving her. ¡°Now back to what I was saying: A normal Familiar contract has a Master and Slave such as the old man and Francis¡± Both of which nodded on hearing their name ¡°While a Blood Bonded Familiar is something else entirely. A Blood Bonded familiar can be from any race or background and does not need to follow any orders they receive from the other party. Another quirk of Blood Bonded Familiars is that both parties are treated as the other¡¯s familiars. So Anna is my familiar and conversely I am hers.¡±
¡°So you¡¯re pretty much magically married.¡± Said the old man after some thought. Anna blushed.
¡°Pretty much.¡± Ben replied ¡°Just without the lovers¡¯ part¡± At that Anna¡¯s blush deepened.
¡°So what are the bonuses?¡± Asked the old man.
¡°Well depending on the trust level, I could have access to all of Anna¡¯s stats and skills, and she mine¡± Ben explained.
¡°So you get the stats and skills of a high ghoul while she gets the skills of a new necromancer¡± the old man probed.
¡°No, no, we are not that high yet¡± Ben laughed ¡°at most it is around half of the stats and no skills.¡±
¡°So that status you showed me was yours plus half of hers?¡±
¡°no that was my true status without the bond, I deactivated receiving her stats because I want to train and get stronger instead of just going around being overpowered, but if push comes to shove¡± Ben now had a dangerous glint in his eyes ¡°Push will regret¡±.
"How does experience share?" the old man continued to question
"Half and half, anything else?"
"Yep"
While master and pupil were chatting away Anna was exploring the blood bond and everything it could do. Realising she could give up gaining his stats and instead gain his ability to raise the dead she smiled. Ben seeing that smile said too Anna ¡°Don¡¯t do anything stupid¡± Anna a bit miffed at that ripped his newly grown arm off and left the screaming boy behind while she went to find the goblin corpses. Chewing on the arm of course.
