《The Immortal Emperor》


 Prologue

    In a galaxy far, far away lies the most average person that you can find in the whole universe. I, Karl Crowford, am the most average person you can find in your entire lifetime and you wanna know why I am average? It''s because I''ve been doing nothing but just go with the flow as everybody in this world does. I grew up, go to school, graduate, get a job, and start a family. Everything in my life is average, I can''t become like those people who have good jobs, beautiful wife/wives(LORNA IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WIFE THAT I EVER HAVE!!) *cough* I let my inner monologue out, now lets get on with my story shall we? Now, where were we oh yeah I am describing my beautiful, most wonderful wif- *cough* again I let my inner monologue out. "It''s fine" I said to myself but it isn''t. I grew envious as my classmates start to get more fulfulling and exciting job as they graduated from college while I am stuck at being a store clerk and a truck driver delivering packeges and crates to the harbor or to the malls.


    It was good as I could travel to the road and become some kind of Adventurer as I''ve never been outside of my city except from a few trips to the forests and I am pretty much a sheltered kid. I live my life reading web novels, random books on the library, and watching videos of others enjoying their life as they should be, I grew jealous of them as they could do things like that but everything changed when she came into my life. My beautiful wife Lorna, I met her when I was going to deliver a pack of crates to the mall and she was the one doing the lodger this time, she is the most beautiful person that I''ve ever met. If you look at it on a outside perspective my wife, Lorna, should be an average adult with long blonde hair and blue eyes, I fell in love with her since then and I''ve been thinking about her each and every night(Wet dreams perhaps?) I can''t really get her out of my mind so I decided to quit my job, live in this city, and get a job from that mall and like that we''ve been hanging out, talking, and going out on a hiking. With that months passed by and I decided to confess my feelings to her so I had her friend helped me out and with that we started going out for 3 years before I ask her to marry me.


    With that we got 2 cute little daughters and our life have become more colorful with them around, though we get into an argument after that we start making out, but everything changed when I was out on the back of the mall when I saw 3 guys bullying the chubby little kid with his little sister on his back protecting her from the bullies. Even though I knew that I shouldn''t get involed on them but I did it anyways as I was reminded of a bad memory so I shouted at them and told them to stop when one guy pulled out a knife out of his pocket and stabbed me repeatedly while the other guy chased the kid that ran away.This story has been taken without authorization.     I was angry, so much angry that I couldn''t even take one guy down with me and even though I knew that there''s the other guy on a look out and could help the guy but so what, I am not going down without a fight. I feel my eyes closing down as I last saw my wife going out on the door with a terrefied face while the guy that stabbed me ran away with his friend on tow.


    After that all that I can see is pure darkness, a void that can consume your sanity, emotions, and your precious memories away in a whisk of second. I can''t even feel a thing as I slowly drift by on this void endlessly like a river stream flowing through the mountains, I slowly start to forget my life on Earth as Karl Crawford and I desperately fight against it but no matter what I did I can''t do anything about it. Thus the only thing that I can do is to desperately remember the pure smile that my wife gave me when I married her, no matter what I can''t forget this precious thing that my wife gave me. I burned it to my soul as a reminder who I once dearly love in my little life as Karl Crawford. Days, weeks, months I don''t know what year it is as I drift against the dark currents of this wretched void as I desperately not lose my mind and that memory of my wife, that pure smile that always give me life and hope.


    I don''t know how many years has passed by and I am on the verge of losing my sanity when I saw a flickering light across of me, I desperately float myself to that light and when I touched it. Everything in my vicinity turns white and with that I heard a voice calling me to wake up and when I heard that I opened my eyes somehow I think this is how you open your eyes? I saw a beautiful face in front of me carassing my cheeks tenderly and everything came like a flood. My past life memories came and also this body memory came with it, I closed my eyes momentarily to digest everything and when I opened it I knew I''ve been reincarnated.

    Wow what a long prologue. This is my first time writing a story so if this is somewhat a shitty story please bear with me as I will strive my best to improve the quality of my story.

 Chapter 1

    As I digest some information from this body''s memory, I know I am in a planet called Kairos on a continent called Mystic Jade Continent and honestly the continent is very big, the size of Pangea. The kingdom that I am living in is called Black Iron Kingdom which focuses more on military technology and might, which is on the west side of the continent so I might see western culture here well most of fantasy novels that I''ve read about is based on western culture. Moving on I am the 5th son of the Ducal Household called Dracov and rules the Duchy of Myur which is on the south side of the kingdom which boasts the most prosperous harbor towns and cities in the whole kingdom.


    On the westside of the kingdom lies the mighty empire of Ryold which is one of the strongest empire in the Western Continent, as I keep digesting this bit of information I saw my new Mother worriedly looked at me and said "Son, are you okay? Is something wrong? You know that I was scared when I just saw you collapse in front of me and laid there in bed for 2 weeks."


    I look at my mom and said "Mom, it''s okay I am a bitdisorienteddue to this massive headache, I am very sorry for worrying you." This here is my new Mother, her name is Elena Bourbon she is the 2nd daughter of the Right Minister of the Kingdom and the 2nd wife of my Father which I haven''t introduced yet.


    *stomach growl* I look at my Mother and said "Mom, can you go please make me something I am very very hungry right now.* Mother looks at me and chuckles, she claps her hand and said "Albrecht, can you please fetch my dear son his food? Also, call the maids so that they could clean up my son and have him dress to meet his father." I saw someone opened the door and saw an middle aged uncle with white hair and a beard with a tuxedo like clothes and he said "Yes, Madam.


    I will now bring Young Master''s meal and call the maids."Albrecht bows his head and walks out of the room. I look at my mom and saw her smiling at me and said "Now now, it''s okay. Oh right you haven''t met Albrecht yet right? He is our house butler, when myFather heard that you were in coma for 2 weeks he sent him with a priest in tow to heal you and protect you. You do know that my Fatherdotes on you right? "


    Wow, I thought that he was our butler so that''s why I haven''t saw his name or his silhouette on this body memories and I think I should stop calling body this or body that.


    I heard Mom smugly said "He is one of the finest Butler in my House you know?" Mom smiled proudly and I saw her nose becomes long like Pinocchio and I laughed at that and said "Mom, please you''re making me laugh!" after few minutes of our bonding I heard a knock on a door and a girl''s voice came out "Madam, you called for us?" after that I heard my Mom said "Yes, please come in. Come and wash my dear son and dress him up properly so that he can meet his Father. Now my child I am going to talk to your Father so see you later alright."     I heard the maids voice said "Young Master, we will now be helping you get up as you were in bed for 2 weeks now and you might not be able to properly walk." I nod at her and have her help me stand up then I saw one of the maids walking to me and starts to undress me. I feel uncomfortable but I know that I must not show it on my face and act like the previous Karl.


    After 10 minutes of washing, brushing my teeth, and dressing up two of my maids held me on my shoulder carefully while guiding me through the door and I saw one of the maids open the door so that we could walk out of the room. Once I am outside, I saw a long hall with decorations and paintings around with a red carpet on the ground. I heard my maids said "This way Young Master, we are now gonna go to Master''s office now." I nod and walked through the hall and looked around the hall and saw paintings of men, women, and whole family and I thoughtthis must be my Father''s family and my previous ancestors.


    After a few minutes of walking I saw a big door with gold linings and pure white on the panels of it. The maid knocked on the door and announced "Madam, Master, the Young Master is in front of the door now." after a few moments I heard a deep voice like Vin Diesel says "Oh, come in come in!" I heard him laugh and the maid opened the door and saw a tall red haired on the chair while I saw my Mother on his right side.


    I tried to bow my head but it felt difficult and then the man said "It''s okay son, no need to worry about bowing and stiff stuffs like that. I HATE IT." he sighs and shakes his head while chuckling, it must be my Dad I thought. I heard my Dad said "So son, how are ya''? Feelin'' good?" I nod my head and hear him say "Good, I know that my sons and daughters are no mere weaklings. You must not show any weaknesses even though you''ve suffered severe injuries, diseases, or curses!" My Dad, Father must be a straightforward a bit of a muscleheaded person and also a prideful person.


    I nod again and said "Uhm, Father why have you called me?" I heard my Father''s voice "Oh, it''s because we are now going to send you back to the Ancestral House of my Household as the Capital is a bit dangerous now because of the unrest up on the north. Damn those Barbarians wait till I get there I will have their dog heads as my trophy!" I take back what I said, Father is a pure military type though its no surprise as this Kingdom is focused more on military might.


    I ask my Father "Why?" and I heard my Father said "It''s because of what happened 2 weeks ago when you collapse, when I heard about this I was devastated and knew that something bad is going to happen so I sent your brothers and your sisters back to the Ancestral Home so that it will keep you safe.


    Right now there are rumors that that King is ill might die soon so there might be a chance of a faction war between the Princes even those who are loyal to the Crown will get caught up with it so we will be sending you and your Mother back home." I see so this is the reason why he is going to send me back to that place and knowing that there might be a struggle for the Throne they sent out invitations to other nobles to join their factions and there will surely by assassinations attempts on those who denied/rejected it and also their enemies.


    I then looked up on my Father said "Okay Father, I understand. I will be packing right now if not for the fact that I haven''t regained much of my strength yet." And then I head my mother said "It''s okay now son, I had the maids pack up your things and also had my maid to bring you your favorite book. Now, go and look for Knight Robert and have him heal your muscles with his Ki." I nod to my Mother and had one of my maid guide me to Knight Robert which is my sword instructor.

 Chapter 2

    As I was walking through the castle I began to think why I haven''t met any God-like figures just like what those novels said or why did I alone(I think) stayed on that void for who knows how long. 5 minutes passed by as I felt sunlight on my skin for the first time as I walked outside of the castle and began heading to the Training Yard for our guards and knights. As I am walking I heard loud shouts of men practicing their preferred choice of weapons and saw other guards and knights running through the fields with bead-like sweats dropping from their face as the sunlight slaps their face.


    Then I saw a tall bulky muscle person standing in the middle while shouting profanities and degratory words on the people training in front of him, then I heard my maid whispers his name with fear on her voice "He''s Honorary Knight Robert, Young Master." I nod at her and dismissed her as I walk to the knight''s back and then I said "Good Afternoon, Knight Robert. My Father said to come to you to train." I saw him flinch in surprise and looks back at me "Good Afternoon too, Young Master. Please stand on my side as I will be now healing your muscles so please don''t move your muscle while I am doing this." Knight Robert said to me.


    I nod at him and he puts his hand on my shoulder as I flinch in surprise as his hand should be heavy with that weight and then I start to relax as I feel cold energy going through my body as I thoughtSo this is Ki?after a few moments I start to feel good and I could now smoothly move my body and I got surprised at this body flexibility. While I am trying to move my hands and body around I heard Knight Robert said "So Young Master feeling good now?" I stopped and grin at Knight Robert and said "Yes, it feels good. I am now ready Knight Robert!" Knight Robert laughs as I proceed to stand in line with the Knights and we started running around the track field while I looked around on the place.


    The training field is big as my previous school gymnasium with wooden weapons on the rack, while I was looking around the field I saw Archers practicing their aims on a target dummies around the fields, spearman thrusting their spears, and knights practicing their horseback skills.


    Then I heard a voice calls out to me on my right side and saw a young squire at my age(which is 10) running with me with beads perspiring on his face has he greedily inhale oxygen with his mouth, "Are you okay? I think you should go and rest. You might run out oxygen and die y''know" I jokingly said to him. I saw him flinch in surprise and with a questionning look "You know that I am not stupid enough to be-lie-v-e t-ha" and then I saw him drop dead on the ground as I stop and my jaw hanging. I started to laugh hard and then it hit me, I am not that much tired for some reason I think it must be because of Knight Robert''s Ki that helps me not become that much exhausted and gives me energy to run more. Ki is wonderful I must have Knight Robert teach me later for now I must drag this kid back to the shade and have my maid bring a jug of water.


    I picked him up and place his back on the tree gently and called the maid to get a jug of water as I saw Knight Robert coming to me. "Young Master, sorry for having one of my Knight''s squire trouble you." He bows his head while he said that and I said "It''s okay Knight Robert. It seems like that the running around with that armor on him should have him realize that he should start strenghtening his muscles first. Anyways, may I request Knight Robert to teach me Ki and it''s spells?" I saw him widen his eyes as I said to him and he said "Young Master, are you sure about that? Once you start training this you might not have chance to become a mage you know? Plus you have more talents on being a mage than to become a Knight y''know? Being a mage is more safer than becoming a Knight as you will be expected to train in the forests more to kill demon beasts and bandits around and the surviving rate for Knights is around 20% - 45% compare to mage of 75% - 100% surviving rate, also you will be at the Academy at all times while doing that."This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road.     I drop my head lower and think in contemplation if I should go on the path of Warrior or to the path of Magus, well considering that I have been a fan of fantasy novels I might want to become a Mage but considering what happen on my previous life and saw the horror on the face of my precious wife I began to think that being warrior is far more beneficial for me as I don''t want to become a glass cannon Mage.


    Then I remember on a certain novel that I''ve read about a class called Battlemage or Magic Knight, it might be possible for me to walk on both paths if I have enough luck and talent but considering the fragments of memories that I''ve received which consists of only my name, my family information, and some memories I don''t know if I do have that talent.


    If there''s a Talent test or somethign on the Academy I might join and see if I could walk on both paths. I look up and said to Knight Robert "It''s okay, I''ve decided to go to the Academy to know more about being a Mage but I will not give up on my training as a Knight. Sooner or later I might become the first person to be able to walk on both paths. Hahaha!" I saw Knight Robert laughs with me and said "Okay Young Master. I believe in the near future that you might be able to walk on both paths if not then it''s okay as it is more beneficial for Master''s Household to have more mages than Knights."


    I smiled at Knight Robert and said "Okay, is there anything that I can do for the rest of the afternoon?" I saw Knight Robert thinking about something and heard him say "What about the sword, Young Master? I heard from Young Master''s brother that you have a above-average talent on it. I will have one of my Knights on my squad to teach you about the sword but for now rest and wait for this damn kid to wake up." Knight Robert laughs and we wait for an hour before I saw the kid opens his eyes as he looks around.


    "Ugghh, my body hurts where am I? Am I in Heaven?" I heard the kid says that and both me and Knight Robert laugh as we see him jerk back in surprise as he saw both me and Knight Robert on his side. "Y-Y-YOUNG MASTER AND C-C-COMMANDER!!!" I heard the kid shouts as I said to him "Calm down now and here drink this before you squel like a little girl."


    I saw Knight Robert chuckle on that joke of mine and then I stand up and stretch and look at Knight Robert "I am gonna go and practice now Knight Robert."


    I said to Knight Robert as he too stands up and said "Okay, Young Master. I am now going to call your swords instructor and his name is Kevin Hohen while this kids name is Kane Locke." I look at Kane and stretches my arm out for an handshake and said "Nice to meet you, future Knight Kane." as I chuckle while he looks embarassed as he shakes my hand and said "Nice to meet you to, Sir Karl." after the greetings I stard to head out with Knight Robert to my Swords Instructor Kevin and after that I started practicing the sword with Instructor Keven for the rest of the afternoon and after having a dinner with my Father and Mother I jumped back to my bed and sleep.

 Chapter 3

    As I sleep I dreamed about me being alive and nursed back on Earth with my lovely wife Lorna and my two cute daughters Rei and Mei on my side sleeping while I saw my wife smiling at me with a face full of concern and pain after a few moments I saw something makes my skin crawl as something pop out of my wife face and when I look at my daughter I saw their eyes pitch black and with a face full of pain. I woke up from that horrifying nightmare with a scream and I saw someone rushed in to my door with weapons drawn and I got scared but when I look clearly it''s Knight Robert with my Sword Instructor Keven with him.


    I heard Knight Roberts shout reverberate around my room "WHO IS THERE?! GET OUT BEFORE I SLICE YOU INTO OBLIVION!!" then I saw Instructor Keven walks to me worriedly and ask "What happen, Young Master? Did someone tried to kill you?" I answered back "No, it''s only but a nightmare. No need to worry about." I saw Instructor Keven nod and looks back at Knight Robert and said "It''s okay, Robert. No one is in here. Young Master was having a nightmare that''s all." Knight Robert looks at Instructor Keven and asks "Are you sure there''s no one in here? Did you check it with your Sense?" I saw Instructor Keven nod and said "Yes, I already did it thrice. Alright, we need to go back now. Young Master still needs to rest." I nod at both of them and said "Yes, good night to the both of you."


    After that both of them head back and I start to think what the hell is that dream about. Then I began to worry if something happen to both of my wife and kids and blamed myself as I shouldn''t have concerned myself with that and tried to become a hero.I began to regret doing that and starts to think of what ifs. What if I didn''t concerned myself with that kid, what would happen? What if I didn''t tried to be an hero and called the cops, what would happen? After a few moments of procrastinating I start a new resolve. I start to think if I am not that weak and if I was trained would I have somewhat survived that attack?


    With those resolve I jump out of my bed and head to the training field and starts radio calisthenics, stretching my body, and starts to jog around the field for a few hours after that I rest for a 10 minutes before I began training with thesword with more resolve, passion, and fanaticism. After 2 hours or so I fell back on the ground and greedily inhaled the air as I am very exhausted with the intense practice that I''ve done even though it''s just slash, pierce, step back, slash, etc that Instructor Keven said to me and I began to think of what my Instructor said to me when I was practicing.

Instructor Keven said to me with a majestic gaze that saw through my entire being.

    Remembering what Instructor Keven said I began to chuckle as I didn''t knew that he could somehow say those philosophical words and with that I start to do what he said, I start to practice my footwork like I am the flowing River, I start to move like the clouds/winds moving with freedom, flawlessly, and speed, I start to move my sword with boundless might of Earth carrying it''s precious sons and daughters on it''s back protecting them and destroying the monsters that prey on it. With that time flows by before I knew it was already midday and I saw my Father, Mother with her entourage of maids, the guards, and both my menter and teacher Instructor Keven and Sir Robert(even though we only jogged before I stop) looking at me with wide eyes and I saw my Mother look at me with tenderness, concern, and fear of me injuring myself.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.


    When I saw all of them looking at me like I am an exotic animal I coughed and everyone starts to praise me and talk of what happen. I noticed the both my Mother is running to me with a face full of concern "I heard what happened last night from Robert and Keven, it''s okay honey. We will sleep together after we go back home okay? Also, they told me that you''ve been doing that when since yesterday midnight. It''s okay to practice like that but please take care of your body and I also I will not permit you on practicing like this again without my supervision got it?!" Mother said to me sternly with gaze that could kill you instantly and somehow I saw a red glint appear from her eyes when she said that. I got scared immedietly and then I heard my stomach growl as I lower my head in embarassment.


    "Hoho, our little protege is hungry eh? Come let''s go and have a dinner before you go and take a bath." Father said to me while smiling and feeling proud of his son. I nod to my Father and starts to head to the dining room with my Mother in tow with that I ate and then I took a bath. While I was bathing I began to wonder what happen to me at that time that I didn''t even notice that I practiced for almost half a day and didn''t even notice time flowing by and any exhaustion, is this what they called''Enlightenment'' ? Wherein a person gets enlighten about something and he/she starts doing that action subconciously? Wow, I never knew that I could somehow gain that so called''Enlightenment''. I didn''t read much of chinese novels to know what happen to me but I know that I somehow gain enlightenment about swords.


    While I was pondering about those troubling things I heard my maid said "Young Master, are you done bathing? Madam called for you she said it''s important." I said "Okay! I am coming out now tell my Mother I am coming now and no need to wait for me to dress I can do that for myself you can go now." I nod to the maid as I start to dress myself up and followed the maid to my Mothers room and then she knocked "Madam, Young Master is here please excuse me as I am needed elswhere." then I heard my Mother''s voice "Okay, you can go now and can you say to my husband that we are now going." I opened the door and saw my Mother on a scarlet dress with her hair tied and I saw my Mother look at me mischievously and said "Oho~, are you falling for your Mother now?" I answered in hurry "NO! I am just surprised that you''re wearing a dress.


    Are we going somewhere, Mother?" I saw my Mother chuckle at me while I grumble "Yes, we are honey. Seems like we can''t stay here for so long as we need to go back now. It''s because there''s no one to supervise your younger sister that we are going back now." I saw my Mother sigh and stands up on her bad and walks to me "You know that your sister missed you so much that she began to do that right?" I nod to my Mother without knowing what will happen when I get back as I thought that the previous Karl dotes on her so much that she became like that.


    "Okay Mother, let me go take my things and let''s go." With that I start to head to my room and starts to carry my things to the front door where we receive guests and I saw my Mother there waiting. "Are you ready to go now, honey~?" I nod to my Mother and we began to walk out of my house and saw something that changed my life. I saw a big majestic white Dragon in front of our house and I saw my Mother looks at me with a face that was telling me that she''s holding her laugh "What? Never seen a big lizard before?" Mother laughed at me as she points her figure to me and to our luggage and they or we began to float to the dragon. I saw my Mother looking at the Dragon and said "Sylphie, sorry for calling you when you''re having a nice sleep but we are in a hurry. We need to go back home." then I saw the Dragon nod and began to hoist itself up to fly "Come here and grab this handle tightly if you don''t want to fall." Mother smiles at me and we began on a fast journey back home.


    For some reason I kinda feel sad as I didn''t venture out of my home and I didn''t see the capital as the flying speed of this Dragon is ridiculous. *sigh*I do hope that when I get back home, I hope that I could somehow I think live in peace I don''t want to get caught up into someone scheme and die without knowing who killed me and what happpen, I feel omnious when I said that.

 Chapter 4

    As we begin flying back home, I begin to think how my Mother got a Dragon as far as I know and also based on what I have read on fantasy web novels in the internet that Dragons are very strong, good at magic, and has resistance on both Magic and Physical attacks. I look at my Mother and asked "Mother, what kind of Dragon is this?" Mother looked at me and said "Well son, this Dragon here is only but a Sky Dragon. They have little to none on combatcapabilities and they are weak against physical attacks but they are fast. They are also used by our army for reconnaissance or used by our Mages and Rangers to do Aerial attacks against the enemy."


    Inod at my Mother and said "So can I tame one when I grow up?" Mother smiled at me and said "Yes my dear son. You will be able to tame one soon." I nod again at my Mother as she take away her gaze from me and look ahead "Look Son, we are now close to our home. Once we are done there go and take a rest first before doing what you want to do. Okay?" Mother said to me smilingly as I nod and look in front of us and saw a big city. I saw a big 5 - 6 stories wall high and the thickness of it is like the Sky Dragons limbs.


    I were slack jawed as I look at this majestic city that was called my home or well the Ancestral Land of both my Mother and Father. I heard that at the beginning both my Father and Mother families are against each other throats but that ended when my Great Grandma married my Great Grandpa decades ago. While I was gazing on the city I heard my Mother said "Well son, welcome to the Grand City of Myur. The capital city of our Duchy and one of the prosperous and boast an army that could repel hoards of Sky level beasts.


    The Dragon, Sylphie began to fly towards to the castle and circles it until it finds a big place to land which is the castle''s yard and landed there while my Mother used her magic to levitate our luggages and myself while she jumps and landed besides me. "Well son, go and take a rest for now. You''re going to need it later on our diner." Mother said to me while chuckling and proceed walking towards the castle with the luggages following her.     I began to walk around the yard as Sylphie starts to snooze. While I was walking around I noticed someone taps on my shoulder and heard a girl''s voice "Hey, who are you? Are you a new servant? You know that it''s forbidden to walk around the castle without permission from either me or the Head Guard." the girl looks at me menacingly as I answered back in hurry "N-No, I am not a servant. I am Karl Dracov, the 5th son of Duke Maximillan Dracov and Duchess Elena Bourbon!" I saw the girl flinch in surprise as she starts to stutter while saying "S-S-Sorry Y-Young M-M-Master" I saw her bow to me while being nervous and still hears her saying "I''m sorry please forgive this servant of yours." and all that.


    I sighed at her and said "It''s okay. It''s fine it seems like no one knows about me here huh?" I guess it''s good as I could somehow go out of the castle and explore the city as I planned to later.Oh yeah I haven''t asked for her name yet as I was thinking I heard her blurt out her name "My name is Jeanne Arc, one of the knights of the 3rd Daughter of our Duke." 3rd Daughter? I look at her quizically and said "Who is she?" I guess I have a lot of brothers and sisters. Damn that Father of mine having another wife again.


    While I was badmouthing my dear Father I heard Jeanne said "She''s the youngest daughter of our Duke and she is also your Younger Sister, Young Master. Her name is Reina Dracov and currently she is in the Academy City which is located on the western border and also called as the City States of Magus. The head of each Academy City are members of the Council which guides, decides policies, and other things with each other." I nod at Jeanne and begin to think on how the hell did she knows this as I said my farewell to her and begin to walk to my room to sleep.

 Chapter 5

    When I woke up I noticed that morning has already passed and wonder why no one woke me up. As I get up from my bed I noticed a bowl of water with a towel on my table so I picked it up and washed myself with it after a few minutes of doing that I begin to dress myself up and walk to the dining room. While I was walking I noticed that there''s no people around the halls. No maids, no guards just utter silence.


    I for some reason got a cold shiver as I somehow feel that someone was watching me and I started to run towards to front door to escape this so-called nightmare of mine but in fact it was all just a prank by my little sister as I heard her laugh out loud and say "B-Brother, *snickers* yo-" before she finishes what she says I smacked her head out of annoyance as I got really scared on what will happen.


    "Hey you do know that it''s bad using your illusion magic just for laughs. What if someone gets hurt?!" I said to her admonishingly as I smacked her head again as I said that and leave in anger as I proceed to the Dining Room while grumbling. Once I reach the Dining Room I proceed to my seat and noticed that my little sister is crying while being carried by a maid and she gave me a glare as I ignored it.


    When I finished eating I rushed out of the Dining Room and go out to the courtyard to practice both my body and sword. So that my foundation will be firm and stable so that I could learn more sword techniques, hand-to-hand combat, footwork, and also the flexibility of my body.


    So 5 years as passed as I became a young kid to a young strapping*cough* teenager with lean toned muscles and a long crimson hair. Now that I am approacing my birthday which is also my coming of age ceremony(I am 15 years old now by the way) I still saw maids and butlers preparing the venue and cleaning up the room where we will receive the guests and saw the guards and knights doing their combat drill and practicing if there will be a conflict coming.


    I began to have sparring sessions with the guards and knights each and everyday for the past 5 years so I can say that my sword skill is up to far to a Great Knight or a Grand Knight as most of the knights here are either a Great Knight or a Grand Knight. There''s also a 5 Gold Knights protecting my whole family so that will be a deterrent for the assassins and party crushers. Hours gone by and it''s now night as I dress my enchanted clothes that my Mother gave to me as a gift which looks badass and cool when I wear it and my father gave me a goddamn cool sword so I wear it on my hips.

    Once I dressed up I began to walk to the reception area with my Mother as she began to congratulate me. I smiled at that as I for the second time in my life experienced a boundless famial love, Mother stopped talking when we reach the door to the reception area.     I had a cold sweat and a shiver when I saw that so I look straight ahead and keep my game face on lest my Mother noticed my troubled look as this is my birthday. With that 30 minutes passed by as they finished introducing theirselves and they began to socialize and dance, I am afraid of socializing with them as I haven''t talked that much to many people so I sometimes nod in agreement or say "Yes", "I see", "I understand", and so on.


    While I was drinking wine on the corner of the reception area I noticed a blue haired girl on the balcony looking at the moon so I walked there while looking at her face. Her face looks beautiful with long blue hair, crimson eyes, and a long blue dress with necklaces on. "The moon looks beautiful isn''t it, Sir?" she said to me and I responded back "Yes, it is. Just like the stars in the sky blooming their beauty for us to see." I cringe a little when I said that and I heard her introduce herself "My name is Jacques d''Avrea, my Lord." she did a curtsy bow when she said that and I introduced myself while bowing "My name is Karl Dracov. Your future husband." I cringed a lot, really. Why did I fucking said that? FUCK! Now we have an awkward air around us as I hanged my head in shame.


    I noticed her laugh as she looks at me and damn hell I were mesmerized by the scene. Her laughing with the moonlight shining down complimenting her blue hair and crimson eyes, I was stunned by it. I am speechless as she continues to laugh her heart out as I began to chuckle at that display. "Now now, Milady. Stop laughing so hard if you don''t want to get marry early." I said to her as I heard her respond back "Well, my lord. It seems like you''re a good guy I think. Probably? Must be my imagination. Hmm" as she had that pondering look with her chin resting on her hand while looking at me. I gave her the eye while she was doing that.


    I looked back at the room and saw that another musician is getting ready to play a song so I look back at Jacques and said "So Milady, care to give your husband the first dance?" I smiled at her as I wait for her reply "Yes yes, My Lord. I shall grant you that dance." she smiled at me sweetly as she hoist her arm with me and we began to walk to the ballroom and began to dance.


    With that an hour passed by as I noticed the crowd formed a circle around us as we dance with each other like there''s tomorrow and I heard the music stopped. I hunged my head down in embarassment as I noticed Jacques looking at me sweetly and tenderly that if someone touches me I''ll break. "That was a good dance, Milady. A very good dance." I said to her as I can''t think of any sweet lines to say. WHY DIDN''T I WATCHED THOSE CRINGY AND CORNY ASS ROMANCE SHOWS?!


    "Yes indeed, well then I must now say my farewell, My lord. As me and my family needs to come back to the capital now." she smiled sadly at me as I noticed that reluctant look so I look for any keepsake to give to her and I noticed that I had one in my pocket as I bought it when I was strolling the town so I gave it to her.


    It is a aqua brooch, perfect for her. As I saw her leave the reception area with a sad look, music began to play and nobles starts to dance. I walk to my Mother and said "Mother, I am going to retire to my room now. I am tired." I smiled at her weakly as she nods back and said "Okay sweetie, go and take a rest. You will be going to the academy now." I nod at her and began to walk to my room and sleep
