《King of Kings》 Prologue ENDLESS!! This world is endless! There is nothing in this world except monsters. No land, no oceans, no mountains, no sun, no moon, no day, no night. Nothing but an endless amount of monsters roaming around killing and fighting each other endlessly. Then, among these bunch of ruthless monsters, there is me. I am not like the others where they don''t desire for anything besides killing and eating each other up. What is the reason they keep killing each other? I don''t know. Do these monsters even have brains? I don''t know. What is the reason for their existence? I don''t know. Then why am I here? I DON''T FUCKING KNOW!! I have spent countless of aeons in this wretched place. Most of my time are spent killing these monsters, not because I want to, but because I don''t have a choice. They seem especially attracted to me. Each time they notice me, they will put everything on hold and come for me. Even if they are half dead, they will still come for me. During the first period of my existence, it was really hard. I couldn''t remember how many times I was on the brink of death. But every single time I am on the brink of death, the monsters would leave me alone and allow me to recover. They would never kill me. I HATED IT!! I hated the fact that they would hurt me so badly only to allow me to recover again. It is like I am their toy, they find it extremely amusing to abuse me over and over again. So every single monster I killed, I asked myself, why am I here? What is this place? Who am I? Am I dead? Am I alive? Just what is the purpose of my life? Is there an end to this endless suffering? I fought the monsters over and over again only to lose over and over again. There is just too many of them. It is not that I can''t defeat these monsters. In fact, I am stronger than most of them. But there is a never ending amount of these monsters. I am depressed and lonely. I just want something in my life. SOMETHING to fight for. SOMETHING to long for. SOMETHING that gives purpose in my life. It doesn''t feel like I''m a living person, neither does it feel like I am dead. I just don''t know the purpose of my existence. Until the moment I saw a beautiful world. It is blue in some areas, brown in some areas, green in some areas and a mixture of white and grey in other areas. When I looked at it, I felt something in me changed. There was desire, there was longing, there was something in me that felt alive. I knew that I want and I NEED to get there. "Oh ya, I forgot to tell you; every year there will be an increase of 0.1% of the remaining monsters. Which means, if you do not kill any monster there will be an increase of 100 million monsters every single year. "Similarly, these monsters will not kill you but they will torture you more intensively. However, after every 100,000 years, if you do not eliminate at least 1 billion monsters, the monsters will be able to take your life for a time period of 1 single day. "A single day might not sound like a long period of time, but trust me, you do not want to experience that ONE single day. "Goodluck! I hope you become King one day. And hopefully, you do not disappoint me like the others." As he said that, I felt some sort of presence disappeared. Everything went back to normal. I can still see millions of millions of monsters. Some are huge, some are small, some flew up high, some crawl down under, some are ugly and scary, some looked docile but I know, they are all dangerous. After that old man left, I started killing those monsters as much as I could. I used their bones as weapons, their skins as armour, their flesh as food. I didn''t need these things before. But when I realised I have desires, especially after seeing that beautiful world, that desire bloomed deep within my heart and soul. I started to crave for food, I felt hunger. I started to feel cold and defenceless, so I clothed myself with the skin of the monsters. I started to feel my punches weren''t strong enough, I equipped myself with weapons made from their bones. But every single day, while I am fighting, I will ponder upon the words of the Old Man. And my desire to enter that beautiful world increase daily. It was pretty much the same as before, the only difference is that now it feels as though the monsters weren''t unlimited. Before, it felt as though no matter how much monsters I killed it always seem as though they respawned immediately somewhere else in this wretched place. There was no concept of time before the Old Man appeared. However, after the Old Man appeared, 2 big screens appeared above me. One representing the number of monsters remaining, and the other representing the amount of time that has passed. This also reassured me since right I can now accurately know how many monsters are remaining and can work towards the goal of completely eliminating all of them. It was different as compared to before, I now have a goal to accomplish. As time passed, I realised every 365 days represents a single year because every single year, there will be a huge screen showing me the view of the beautiful world that I desire. So every time that screen appears, I will stop killing and admire the beautiful scene in front of me. Only at the 365th day will there be a brief peace as all the monsters will automatically stay away from me for a period of 24 hours as if there was some sort of barrier that prevents them from coming near me. And during that time I will just stare at the big screen and try to learn as much as I can from the actions of the beings of the world. Every single year I persevered and endured, my desire only grew stronger and stronger. And at the same time, my strength grew stronger and stronger, and proportionately the number of monsters I killed increases each year. As the number of monsters decreases year by year, the difficulty of killing these monster did not decrease as I expected. I suspected the monsters are differentiated by ranks. Which means some are stronger than the others Nevertheless, all I needed to do was to kill them ALL. I killed and killed, day after day, year after year, thousands of years after thousands of years. And FINALLY, after 30 million years I managed to kill all these monsters off. I was happy! I was excited! I was anxious! But most of all I felt ALIVE! Every single time I almost died, I persevered and endured. I told myself, everything is worth it if I get to leave this wretched place. I felt extremely tired and exhausted that every single step I took felt like it would take my life. But I didn''t care, I was so excited and thrilled that I walked towards the door that appeared as the Old Man described it to be. As I walked through the door, I felt my whole body transformed into a fireball. BOOM! Chapter 1 - Beloved Son ¡°NO NO NO NO NO!!¡± He is OUR son!! What are you doing darling?! ¡°How could we abandon him when what he really needs right now is our warmth and love?? ¡°He is only 15 years old darling!! How could you even do this?? How could we?!" The sound of a beautiful but sharp voice vibrated loudly through the walls of the castle. Clearly, there was a hint of anger and despair when she said those words. ¡°Do you think I do not know that he is my SON?! But all he does is play around fooling with girls. Not to mention, all the resources he spends. ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter if he is a concubine¡¯s son, but he isn¡¯t!! As an heir to this Grand Kingdom, how could he behave so? ¡°Honey, there is nothing else we could do. We have already provided him with love beyond any normal parent should need to be responsible for. And we tried our best to teach him martial arts, but he doesn¡¯t want to learn. Please! ¡°I am begging you father! Please! I will learn martial arts. I will study hard! I will do anything! Please, father, please!¡± said a young 15-year-old boy with an immature voice. ¡°Hmph! That¡¯s what you said the other time! And the other time! And the other time!! ¡°It has always been like this! Go out and experience the world and grow up!¡± said the man with a harsh tone. As the middle-aged man said that, he closed the gates of the castle and walked back towards the castle. As he entered the gate, he said ¡°Shut the gates! And NO one is allowed to let that useless son in! Announce to the world that from this day forth, the boy named Gio is no longer my son and shall be forbidden to be mentioned in the vicinity of my Kingdom!¡± As the King said that, he walked away from the gates with clenched fists, however, if one looked closer, there was a hint of reluctance in his eyes. ¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª "It''s over now, father is really angry. I have never thought that father would really throw me out of the Kingdom. What should I do? I have nowhere to go. I only have 1000 gold left with me. Gio talked to himself out in the open with a gloomy expression on his face. Truth be told 1000 gold and 10 diamonds was more than enough to live life luxuriously but Gio is a kind of a superb spoiled brat that likes to show off his money wherever he goes. So you can imagine the amount of money Gio has, is definitely not an insignificant amount. However, Gio doesn''t know the value of the money he holds because he never has to earn it. He is a Young Heir to a great kingdom but wastes his life to women, gambling, drugs, etc. Anything that seems fun, he will definitely be a participant. And anything that requires hard work and dedication, he stays far far away from it. In this world, the average people enters the army or starts working at the age of 15. Only nobles and aristocrats or people with good financial ability would be allowed to obtain higher education. Of course, there are some exceptions, but such cases are rare especially in this world. So in the eyes of this world, Gio is considered to be a young adult that is eligible to make decisions for his own life. ---------------------- "Arghhh, DAMN IT!!! That is the meaning of becoming a KING!" Gio was shoutinghisuseless speechabout what he would have and what he would do when he is King, but he seemed to have forgotten that he was kicked out of the Kingdom that he very muchwished to become King in. However, as Gio was spouting his nonsense, it seems like the Heavens was angered by his uselessness and roars of thunders beganreverberating andechoed throughout the dark skies. Surprisingly there wasn''t even a drop of rain but just lightning and thunderstorm in the dark skies. As Gio was looking at the sky, he was horrified as he could see the dark cloud converge into a huge ball of clouds as if it was trying to summon a huge ass thunderbolt. But instead of a thunderbolt, in the middle of the cloud, Gio could see a red fireball that was becoming bigger and bigger as time passes. This fireball has a tinge of crimson red colour but mixed with an icy blue. However, there was a darkness aura that seems to have become tangible and enshrouds the fireball. It doesn''t cover it but gives a thin black layer surrounding the fireball. What''s even more surprising is that it was beginning to look like a human-shaped object but doesn''t seem to possess a tangible body. As the shape of the fireball slowly transformed more and more into a human-shaped like, suddenly... BANG!! BOOM! BOOM! ------------------------------- "You want to have money? You want to have women? You want freedom? You want to be KING?!! I want it too!!! But without power, you can do nothing, without strength we are weak, without perseverance we are NOTHING!! Without these, our desires are nothing but a dream!! "Oh dear Gio, I am sorry that you died in this manner, but I have to say your mouth is just full of shit. "Therefore, until I am worthy to hold this name again, I will forego this name Gio, and shall be called ENDLESS!! And I will be KING!!! "I will not disappoint ''our'' parents, I will be the son they always wished for as it is what they deserve. ''You'' were always taking their love for granted. It wasn''t as if they never gave ''you'' the opportunity. They even gave ''you'' the freedom to pursue what it was ''you'' really wanted to do. However, all ''you'' did was giving them more problems by causing trouble towards neighbouring Kingdoms and even towards our own people ''you'' are labelled as trash and a disgrace to the family" said Endless as he solemnly promised himself and his other self the things he would accomplish. As soon as Endless finished speaking, his eyes gradually close and soon fainted on the ground.... Chapter 2 - You are Me, I am You As Endless starts to regain consciousness, no that''s not it, it would be more accurate to say that his inner consciousness is awakening but his body is still unable to response towards his thoughts. However, Endless currently feels as though his body is burning through the depths of hell''s pit and freezing in a frozen nebula at the same time. Those are just physical pain that he could deal with as he has been through more than 30 million years of suffering in that endless void. But what he couldn''t bear was the pain from his soul and consciousness that is trying to merge with the new body. It felt as though there were some entities that were trying to tear apart his consciousness and soul, preventing him from merging with the new body. To be accurate, there were two mighty looking beasts staring at him growling and roaring fiercely at him. Endless was never afraid of battles even in that Dark Endless Dungeon filled with monsters he never once cowered. However, as he stared at these two insanely humongous and mighty beasts, he trembled in fear. One of the beasts looked like a three-headed dog. But it is much bigger than the average dog. It was covered with dark black shiny fur on its body that made look extremely vivid and lifelike in this inner conscious domain. It had the height of 50 meters, 25 meters in width and 80 meters in length excluding its long tail that looked as long as an anaconda. From the top of its head to end of its tail, the three-headed dog was covered in a dark metallic coloured metal. The shiny metal had many spikes on it, it was as though it was the beast''s battle armour. There was also a metal collar attached to all three of its heads and numerous chains were linked to the collar. But what really caughtEndlessns attention was that there was a bluish fire surrounding its body, particular on all three of the heads but what was really surprising was that instead of feeling intense heat, EndesslEn felt bone chilling cold. However, all these descriptions only magnified the sense of majestic aura the beast was protruding. The second beast, however, looked just like a harmless domestic pet. It looked just like a hairless adorable pink looking guinea pig that many people keep as a pet. But it was much, much, much bigger, maybe a thousand times bigger than a normal guinea pig. However, what was noticeable was that it had two large tusks protruding from its lower jaw but it didn''t succeed in giving the beast a fierce look. However, Endless felt more afraid of this harmless looking pig as compared to the three-headed dog because this pig was giving him a sense of feeling that it was the natural predator to all living beings. Endless felt as though his soul could instantly be devoured when he was looking directly at the pig''s eyes. Suddenly, the three-headed dog roared loudly and started charging towards Endless as if he was a delicacy for it. However, Endless didn''t panic as he was used to fighting off humongous monsters in Dark Endless Void Dungeon. Endless quickly jumped towards his right in order to avoid the incoming three-headed dog. However, before he could even celebrate in escaping death, the harmless looking pig plunged forward its front right hoof and grabbed Endless. Although it was a hoof, it still grabbed Endless tightly leaving no gaps for Endless to struggle out from the pig''s grasp. The harmless looking pig stared at Endless with a malicious looking grin and its saliva was dripping all over as it was obvious it couldn''t wait to devour Endless. Endless had never experience soul type of battles before and never really felt the true threat of death as he always knew that those monsters will never kill him but would only torture him. It''s not that he is afraid of death as he always felt that dying would probably be better than the days he spent in that Dark Endless Dungeon. I guess anyone with a sane mind would choose death in an instant rather than millions of years of torture. However, the feeling of death staring at you was a new feeling for Endless, there was clearly the emotion of shock and surprise mixed with fear and regret. He was feeling shocked and surprised because it was the first time for him, on the other hand, he felt fear and regret because a new beginning was just starting, but before it even got to start it seems like it would extinguish at any moment. Just as the harmless looking pig was about to devour Endless to satiate its hunger, Endless shouted "HEY! WAIT! Three-headed Dog, are you going to allow this adorable looking pig to devour me? I don''t think I am enough to satisfy both of you" Endless had a calm face when he said that but deep down he was panicking, trying to think away to get out of this sticky situation. A loud and ancient voice sounded out "HA HA HA HA HA, hey Old Pig did you hear that? He called you an adorable looking pig HA HA HA!! This has got to be one of the best things I''ve heard in my life!" On the other side, another ancient voice filled with wisdom but had a deep sense of laziness mixed with it sounded out "Hey you old fool, what are you laughing at? Didn''t he call you a three-headed dog? The great Cerberus reduced to being called a dog and you''re happy about it? And don''t you know this kid is just trying to rile us up? You are just too lazy to fight, right? If so why don''t you just give me this kid''s soul and I''ll allow you to leave the body unharmed" replied the three-headed dog with a playful grin. "Ha Ha Ha! It''s true I am extremely lazy but I would never throw away the chance to reincarnate. And you Old Dog was never my match if I really put my heart into fighting you" as the harmless looking pig said that his aura started to coagulate. It feels as though it became tangible and the temperature in the inner conscious domain started to drop. "Enough talk! Let''s start fighting. It has been a long time since this Ancient One has fought, and it is making my blood boil in excitement". As soon as the three-headed dog said that, the harmless looking pig stood up and threw Endless aside. Endless was far enough to be safe from the clash of the two mighty beasts. The two mighty beasts started growling at each other and both of them adopted a crouching position, ready to charge at each other at any given moment. Their taut muscles were clearly shown on all four of their limbs. Creak Creak Creak (Sound of the pressure from their muscles) However, suddenly at this moment, from the direction of where Endless was thrown off, two large beams of rays shot out from his eyes at the two mighty beasts. One of the beams was icy metallic blue, while the other was crimson red. As the two beams collided into the bodies of the mighty beasts they roared in pain. They did not even have the opportunity to dodge those beams as it was too fast and they did not see it coming. "Im-im-impossible! IMPOSSIBLE! How is it possible that he possesses the source of the Pure Yin Fire!" roared the three-headed dog in pain and an extremely shocked expression. "No shit! Not only does he possess the source of the Pure Yin Fire but he also possesses the source of the Pure Yang Fire! I don''t know how he could possibly obtain both of Great Primordial Fire but he definitely has it as it could even burn through my Pure Yang body" said the harmless looking pig with a despaired expression as it knew it would be soon be devoured by the Pure Yang Flames. "Wait, didn''t you bathe in the source of the Pure Yin Fire and stolen part of its essence? Then why could the Pure Yin Fire harm your body?" asked the harmless looking pig with a frown on his brows. The three-headed dog replied with a haughty tone "don''t you always claim to be smarter than me? Why are you asking something so stupid then? You have the Pure Yang body and yet his Pure Yang Fire could still harm you, then why couldn''t his Pure Yin Fire harm me? I don''t know what is going on but I can tell you his Pure Yin Fire is different from mine, his Yin Fire has a higher purity than mine or should I say he has the original source of the Pure Yin Fire. This doesn''t make any sense to me but that''s the conclusion that I got. Otherwise, there''s no way Pure Yin Fire could possibly deal any damage to me. It is bizarre". Before the harmless looking pig could even reply, the intensity of both the blue and red fire intensified and soon the form of the two beasts gradually disappeared from the inner conscious domain. As soon as the two mighty beasts disappeared, Endless lost total consciousness. -------------------------- After a while, Endless opened his eyes again but he found out that he is still within the inner consciousness domain. It is dark and empty but he could feel his surroundings. Furthermore, this time the two mighty beasts was absent. Endless assumed they were both destroyed by the large blue and red beams. As he was trying to figure out why is he still in the inner conscious instead of waking up fully conscious, suddenly there was a large translucent crystal screen appearing in the domain. What was shown was the past 15 years of Gio''s life. From the moment he was born as a baby to the day his father kicked him out of the Kingdom. As Endless was watching the large crystal screen, he realised how much Gio''s parents loved him. However, Gio never seems to appreciate it and just wastes his life. Endless got a clearer understanding of how the world that he was anticipating functioned in the current era. However, because Gio leads a wastrel lifestyle, there was not much proper information to digest. When Endless reached the final day when Gio was kicked out of the Kingdom, he felt as though he had spent 15 years in the inner conscious domain. Therefore, Endless felt as though he fully integrated with Gio''s life and now he could confidently say that Gio is Endless and Endless is Gio. Endless felt all sorts of emotions when he was watching the large crystal screen. It felt as though he was reliving those 15 years of Gio''s life. Therefore, his love for his parents was deeply etched in the depths of Endless'' heart. After watching Gio''s life, Endless muttered to himself with a determined tone "I am now truly you and you are now me, the things you couldn''t do, I will do. The things you want to achieve but can''t achieve, I will achieve it in your stead. As the love that mother and father gave but wasn''t reciprocated by you, I will love them as though they are my own parents. I am ready now..
