 Chapter 1: Descend

    At the beginning of everything, there was nothing. Then the origin firmament came into existence. It established laws like space, time, energy, yin & yang, chaos &order and just about everything else. It established reality.


    The firmament gave birth to 4 Universes with different laws and through the interaction of these laws, life was created. These life-forms differed from each other and since the laws of each Universe were separate, their evolution path was unique and different from each other. While all this was going on, a being was born out of the origin firmament. This being gained sentience as soon it was born and learned that he was a part of origin firmament, perhaps a part of it gaining intelligence. He watched as these 4 Universes developed and the life-forms in them evolved. Many eons passed and he eventually got bored having nothing to do. So he decided to enter into a deep slumber to establish his control on the entirety of the origin firmament and maybe by the time he woke up, these Universes may give him a pleasant surprise.


    [After Countless Eons]


    (The Plane of Gods, 1<sup>st</sup> Universe)


    ¡°Hey Raga, why have you been frowning for the past few days? Even His Highness noticed your sour mood in yesterday¡¯s meeting. What¡¯s wrong with you?¡± A feminine voice full of charm and grace asked a man whose face was frowning non-stop.


    ¡°I don¡¯t know Freya, but I have been having this feeling that something big is going to happen in the coming years, something which will shake the very foundation of this Universe. Even with my divination, I can¡¯t pin-point what this thing is, something that has never happened before¡± replied a voice with concern.


    ¡°What? You are the God of Divination, there is nothing you can¡¯t divine. How is it possible that you are unable to divine anything? Are you getting paranoid for nothing?¡± the feminine voice said with disbelief.


    ¡°Oh trust me, my intuitions have never been wrong. It was my intuition which warned me about the attack of Abyss King in the last Primordial War and we could prepare ourselves beforehand. I just hope whatever this thing is, it does not have evil intentions. *Sigh* Maybe I am really overthinking things.¡±


    ¡°Hahaha, you need some cheering up old fellow. Come, let¡¯s go to Aztog¡¯s Palace and drink some wine. His divine wines are the best here.¡±


    With that, the two figures disappeared.


    (At a far distance from all 4 Universes)


    A ripple spread out from a point which spread throughout the 4 Universes disturbing their laws for a split second before everything went normal. The disturbance was so minute that nobody in the 4 Universes felt anything. At the origin of this disturbance, a pair of pitch black eyes opened. They had stars in them and whoever stared into it would feel like they contained a Universe of their own.


    These eyes then landed on the 4 Universes and scanned everything before a twinkling of excitement flashed in those eyes. "It seems like I have been asleep for a very long time. I never expected that these life-forms will grow so much and these Universes will develop in this way. They indeed gave me a pleasant surprise."


    He then looked towards the first Universe. This Universe had actually split itself into three planes with each plane carrying different concentration of energy & depth of laws. The life-forms in this Universe had somehow gained the ability to absorb the energy, something they called spirit energy, to evolve and merge their bodies with laws and gain eternal enlightenment and immortality.


    Then his eyes shifted to the 2nd Universe. This Universe had developed an intelligent consciousness which was in control of all the laws in it and called itself The System. Every Life-form could use this system and got rewarded by it by doing some actions.


    "Interesting."


    Then those eyes landed on the 3<sup>rd</sup> Universe. This Universe functioned somehow similar to the 1<sup>st</sup> Universe, with the only difference being that majority of the life-forms in this Universe were born with an innate-ability to bend a few laws according to their will and they call this their ability. Apparently only a selected few out of all the life-forms had an ability, something probably related their evolution many eons ago. They too absorbed energy which they called universal energy to evolve their bodies.


    Then came the last of the four, the 4<sup>th</sup> Universe. This particular Universe was the smallest out of all and was pretty normal in comparison to others. The life-forms there absorbed energy they called mana. These life-forms did not had any ambitious goal like immortality or anything, rather this universe seemed more peaceful than the other three.


    All in all, it seemed like these life-forms had considered immortality as their final goal.


    "Heh, they think they can become immortal? Only laws are ever-existingin the Multiverse. All those life-forms who hail themselves as Immortals are strong only because they have established a connection to the source of laws. As soon as the connection is broken, they will lose all their powers."


    But he had to agree that these 4 Universe had developed in a way that he had never anticipated in the initial stages of their development. He was really excited to visit these worlds and explore to his heart¡¯s content.


    "Now that I have established my full control over the origin firmament, I have nothing else to do. Maybe going down there and relaxing is not a bad idea afterall."


    In the end, he decided that he will go around a tour of the Universes and gain a better understanding of how they function. He also wanted to confront some intelligent life-forms and enjoy being in the company of someone else. With that though in mind, he decided to first start with the 1<sup>st</sup> Universe.


    "Let¡¯s begin with the lowest plane and go up from there."


    Each plane of the 1<sup>st</sup> Universe was a stretch of a huge horizontal plane where most of the life-forms resided. Planets and Stars did exist, but they couldn¡¯t support life-forms. The most abundant species on this universe called themselves humans so his first job was to create a human body. He started making a male human body of age 18. Then he created the rest of the body carefully. He kept his face normal in appearance and his physiqe a bit above average. He had silver hair & pitch black eyes which had stars in them. But he had no idea that him using his powers which came from the origin firmament to create a body will obviously not result in an ordinary body. The average bodythat he hadcreated will be considered heaven-defying and peerless in the 1<sup>st</sup> Universe. Also, even though he assumed his appearance was normal, his normal may not be normal for people down there.


    After he was done, he nodded his head in satisfaction and was happy. This was his first creation after his birth, so obviously it gave him a sense of satisfaction which he had never felt before. He then rushed into his newly created body and got himself familiar with it.


    "Hmm¡­.not bad. The experience of having arms and legs is interesting. I wonder what that thing hanging between my legs is used for. Oh well, we¡¯ll find out eventually."


    Then space rippled around him and he was gone.


    In the lowest plane of the first Universe, in a forest somewhere, space rippled and a young man appeared suddenly. He looked around and observed his surroundings with surprise, like he had never seen trees in his life.     "I have no idea where I am. I could use my powers to locate myself, but it wouldn¡¯t be fun that way. I¡¯ll look around for a bit first. Oh right! People in this Universe have names, so I¡¯ll need one too. What should I name myself? Hmm¡­.considering the naming sense of people here, let¡¯s go with Long Huan. Yup, that should do."


    After walking for hours, he was getting bored and just was about to use his powers when he heard some sounds coming from nearby. Even though he was not using his powers, his senses were still very sensitive and he could hear things from miles away easily. Long Huan smiled and dashed towards the origin of the sound. As he got closer, he realized that a few people were battling ahead. He got closer and could see that 10 black clothes figures were battling 2 young women and were almost on the verge of successfully killing/capturing them. As he got close enough, those people could also sense that there was someone else among them and all of them turned their heads towards Long Huan. Long Huan surveyed the people here and was thinking whether he should get involved when a charming feminine voice shouted ¡°Hey you, run! Don¡¯t come any closer¡±. Long Huan looked where the voice came from and realized that it came from one of the girls who was being attacked. He was impressed, considering they were in precarious situations and obviously needed help but they still refused to endanger someone else''s life to save themselves and advised him to run away.


    ¡°Punk, it is your unlucky day today. You have witnessed something you weren¡¯t supposed to and now you¡¯ll have to pay with your life¡± said one of the black clothed man and pounced towards him. Long Huan smiled and just raised his left hand. As soon as the black clothed figure came a metre distance from his, his body felt like it crashed into an invisible wall and he was tossed backwards with the sound of a few bones breaking clearly. The other black clothes figures became alerted seeing this scene and all of them looked towards a tall muscular man among them who was probably the leader of this force.


    The leader signalled 4 men to attack Long Huan again only to be met with the same fate as the first one. The leader realizing their mission cannot succeed, signalled for retreat and the black clothed figure dashed back into the forest. Long Huan did not chase after them and instead looked at the two woman who sighed and slumped down panting. He walked towards them and they tensed up a little.


    ¡°I mean no harm ladies. I was wondering, since I helped you little, would you both be kind enough to point me towards the exit of this forest, perhaps towards a nearby city?¡± he asked raising his hands in the air.


    Both of them relaxed a bit and one of the girls wearing a violet coloured robe replied ¡°Umm¡­thank you for saving us. My name is Shi Lan and this is my friend Han Bai. We were actually on our way to Phoenix City after completing a sect mission when we were ambushed by these black clothed men all of a sudden. They had outnumbered us and if not for your timely arrival, we would have probably lost our lives. If you don¡¯t mind waiting for a bit, we can travel together to the Phoenix City, what do you say?


    ¡°Very well, we¡¯ll do as you say¡± Long Huan replied and sat down nearby. He was well aware these two girls were injured and probably needed some time to heal themselves. He could use his powers to heal them instantly but then he would have to explain a lot of stuff which would be a pain. Now that his mind was not focusing on anything, he silently observed these girls and realized these two could be considered quite good-looking considering the standards of this world. The violet-clothed girl had long black hair, icy-blue eyes, cherry red lips and had an aura of charm around her. The other girl was a blonde with brown eyes and a gentle aura around her. She was wearing blue robes and he noticed that both of them had a particularmedallion hanging fromtheir waist.


    The blonde girl whose name he remembered to be Han Bai, caught his stare and assumed that he was staring ather chest, which was quite big actually. Her face turned red and she started fidgeting. Long Huan noticed her weird actions and smirked. A few hours passed and the girls stood up, now looking more energetic and lively.


    ¡°Let¡¯s go mister, we are done recovering¡± Shi Lan declared.


    ¡°I am Long Huan¡± Long Huan replied and stood up as well. Shi Lan nodded and started walking towards a particular direction with Han Bai and Long Huan following her. They walked for many hours and even encountered some beasts but they were swiftly killed by the girls. Finally they reached a clearing in the forest and Long Huan could see the silhouette of a huge city surrounded by huge walls from this distance. Soon, the trio exited the forest and walked towards the city walls.


    ¡°Is this your first time here brother Long?¡± Shi Lan asked suddenly.


    ¡°Ah¡­yes. I am actually new to this country. Throughout my life, I have lived with my grandfather in the mountains and I don¡¯t have much idea of the world. Now that I am old enough, I thought of venturing out into the world and gain some experience. If you don¡¯t mind, can you tell me about this country a bit?¡± Long Huan replied. This was a nice opportunity to get some information and he wouldn¡¯t miss it for sure. Both girls were surprised after knowing about his circumstances but complied nonetheless.


    ¡°Sure. The country we are currently in is called the Holy Dragon Empire and is ruled by the Holy Dragon Imperial Clan. Apart from them, there are 3 powerful sects who are as strong as the Imperial Clan but they have existed in harmony since the foundation of the Empire. These sects are the Sword Immortal Sect, Rising Sun Sect and Roaring Lion Sect. There are other powerful clans and sects out there but they are not as strong these three. Right now, we are heading towards Phoenix City, a major city of the Empire and also where Sword Immortal Sect resides. We are disciples of Sword Immortal Sect by the way.¡± Shi Lan finished with her explanation and the trio reached the city walls. There was a long line of people waiting to enter the gates and trio joined them.


    ¡°Thank You¡± Long Huan said. So that medallionon their waist was a symbol of their sect most probably. It was hexagonal in shape with a dragon coiling around a golden sword etched on it. After some time, their turn came and the girls got free pass since they were sect disciples but Long Huan was not and he was asked to pay 10 copper coins. Long Huan scratched his nose awkwardly and looked at Shi Lan. She got the message and paid the money for him. "I should find a way to earn some money as fast as possible, seeing as how important it isin day-to-day life."


    They entered the city and Long Huan was looking at everything excitedly. There were a lots of building, some tall some short. The streets were bustling with lots of people and he even spotted some Sword Immortal Sect¡¯s disciples walking around.


    ¡°Brother Long, as a thanks for saving us, we would you to eat lunch with us. It¡¯ll be our treat and you can¡¯t refuse¡± this time it was Han Bai who spoke and she gave him a smile. ¡°She is probably a shy type girl who speaks very less around strangers¡± Long Huan thought.


    ¡°Well, you don¡¯t need to¡± Long Huan started but after a glare from Shi Lan continued ¡°but since you guys insist, then sure. Lead the way¡±. Shi Lan and Han Bai happily nodded and they walked into a nearby restaurant called Delicious Feast. As soon as the boss saw the trio he happily walked out ¡°Miss Shi, it¡¯s nice to see you here. What would like to have today?¡± he asked. Seemed like this fellow knew Shi Lan. Shi Lan smiled and said ¡°Today I amhere with some friends. Bring your best Uncle Luo¡±. The boss nodded and went in to arrange for the dishes. The trio walked to a nearby empty table and sat down.


    ¡°So Brother Long, do you cultivate? What is your cultivation level? If you don¡¯t mind answering that is¡± Shi Lan finally asked what has been in her heart from the moment she saw Long Huan. She couldn¡¯t detect a thread of spirit energy on his body which could only mean two things. Either his cultivation is way higher than her or he is not a cultivator. Judging by the incident which took place in the forest, it should be the former but she was doubtful.


    ¡°Haha¡­I am not a cultivator Miss Lan. Actually due to some circumstances I was not allowed to cultivate since I was a kid.¡± Long Huan replied with an embarrassed smile. He realized that we was quite good at acting. He obviously didn¡¯t need to cultivate since he was the ruler ofeverything but he couldn¡¯t say that right?


    ¡°Ohh¡­..I understand. Brother Long then must have used a spirit artefact to deal with those thugs. By the Brother Long, what do you plan to do next?¡± Shi Lan asked. Han Bai was sitting there quietly observing Long Huan and when this question was raised, even she showed at interested face.


    ¡°Spirt Artefat?¡± Long Huan thought. He then remembered that the life-forms in this Universe used weapons made up of special ingredients so they could channel spirit energy through them and were called spirit weapons. A spirit weapon which didn¡¯t consume the energy of the user but charged themselves naturally by absorbing the spirit energy in the air were named spirit artefacts and were normally very rare. These artefacts had stronger attack power than spirit weapons and were highly coveted by cultivators. These girls had assumed he had a spirit artefact since he didn¡¯t have any spirit energy in his body.


    ¡°Well, that¡¯s not a bad alias.¡±


    ¡°Ah..yes, something like that. Well, I was planning to maybe join a sect and experience cultivation now that I can. I¡¯ll think about other things from there.¡± Long Huan replied. He had realized that joining a sect will be the best idea to know more about this cultivation oriented society and start his adventure.


    ¡°Excellent¡± Shi Lan suddenly clapped her hands in delight and said ¡°Brother Long, there will be an entrance ceremony happening in the Holy Dragon City, the capital city of this Empire 5 days from today. I recommend you to participate in it and try to get selected by one of the three great sects. If you are lucky, then maybe you could join our sect as well.¡±


    ¡°Oh?¡±

 Chapter 2: Getting to Know the World

    This piqued Long Huan¡¯s interest. The only reason he wanted to join any set was because he thought it¡¯ll be fun. He¡¯ll also get to interact a lot of people there and maybe he¡¯ll find something interesting there and not get bored.


    ¡°Is that so? Thank you Miss Lan for informing me. I¡¯ll make my way towards Royal Capital then.¡± Long Hua thankfully replied and lunch was served on the table. He looked at the delicacies in front of him and took the first bite of the first dish he had ever eaten since he was born. He had never tasted anything before but the food here tasted good, whatever good was. He devoured his food in minutes and asked for seconds. The girls smiled wryly seeing Long Huan¡¯s appetite but said nothing. After eating 5 plates, Long Huan was a bit satisfied and didn¡¯t insist on eating more. Since the restaurant was not an expensive one, Shi Lan didn¡¯t have to suffer much when paying for the food and the trio departed.


    ¡°Miss Lan, Miss Bai, it was a pleasure meeting you two on my trip here. I thank you again for guiding me. I shall bid my farewell here and hope that we meet again¡± Shi Lan said and smiled. Shi Lan and Han Bai briefly froze after seeing his smile. They had to agree that Long Huan was a very handsome fellow, even though he was quite unaware of the fact himself. Both of them regained their composure and it was Han Bai who replied with a blush ¡°It should be us thanking you Brother Long for saving us. Best of Luck for the Entrance Examination. I hope we me¡­..meet again¡±. Towards the end of her sentence, Hai Bai¡¯s face was quite red but Long Huan didn¡¯t pay much attention to it.


    Long Huan nodded and walked towards the direction where the girls had informed him to find a caravan leaving for the Royal Capital. Long Huan wanted to experience the feeling of travelling in a caravan so he didn¡¯t just directly teleport to the Holy Dragon City. The girls watched him leaving and felt a sense of loss in their hearts. However, they had a feeling that this will not be the last time they¡¯ll seeing him. They smiled and walked back to their sect.


    Long Huan saw many peddlers selling their stuff and shops advertising their products with sign boards. Everything was new to him so was not paying attention to where he was walking and accidently collided with someone. He looked ahead and found a blonde youth in lavish white clothing was glaring daggers at him.


    ¡°I am really sorry. I was not paying attention and accidently collided with you.¡± Long Huan said and behaved like a decent person even though he didn¡¯t feel like apologizing after seeing his disdainful look.


    ¡°You lowly peasant, you dare dirty my robes with your filthy touch? Kneel down and apologize and maybe I¡¯ll spare your lowly life.¡± The blonde youth said and looked at him like he was looking at an insect. The surrounding people, probably recognizing who this blonde youth was gave Long Huan a pitiful look.


    ¡°What? This guy has the audacity to throw his weight around in front of me? I had assumed that a lot of cultivators will be arrogant since they have powers beyond mortals but this? Heh, maybe I should teach him a lesson.¡±


    ¡°Who the hell do you think you are to order me around? I have already apologized for my mistake so I have nothing to do with you here. I¡¯ll be leaving first.¡± Long Huan said and ignoring the stunned blonde youth and the crowd started walking around him.


    The Blonde youth¡¯s face turned red with anger. Never in his entire life did a lowly mortal disrespected him so much. If he didn¡¯t take his head today, then he¡¯ll probably die of anger and shame. While Long Huan¡¯s back was facing him, the blonde youth suddenly raised his hand and punched towards Long Huan with an evil smile. Just as the punch was a few centimetres away from Long Huan¡¯s head, his body froze. His evil smile tuned into a horrified look as he was thrown back with a large force and collided with a stall nearby. Then the same force picked him to the air and continuous ¡®Pa¡¯ ¡®Pa¡¯ sound resounded in the area. The blonde youth was repeatedly slapped heavily by some mysterious force and his face was swollen like a pig with most of his teeth broken. He was then tossed towards a trash bin nearby with all the trash falling on his face. He screamed in agony for a few seconds and then fainted. The crowd was utterly shocked to see such a scene playing in front of them and couldn¡¯t make heads or tails of what happened here. By the time they woke up from their stupor, Long Huan was long gone.


    A few kilometres away, Long Huan was leisurely strolling towards the Merchant¡¯s Guild where he can find a caravan. He felt good after teaching that arrogant brat a lesson. Hopefully he won¡¯t bully commoners again. He soon reached the Merchant¡¯s Guild and could see a lot of people wearing armours standing outside the Guild entrance.


    The Merchant¡¯s Guild was a huge dome shaped building with a weighing scale symbol atop it. From the discussions happening around him, Long Huan got to know that an important cargo was been shipped to the Holy Dragon City and was accompanied by the Dawn¡¯s Spring, a group of mercenaries who were quite popular here. Apparently they were still short of 3 people and were recruiting strong men.


    ¡°Excellent. With this, I found my caravan. I¡¯ll just have to get recruited into this caravan.¡±


    With a smile, Long Huan made his way where the amour wearing people were standing. He went near a strong looking bearded man and asked ¡°Can you please call your leader? I need to talk to him¡±.


    The middle-aged man looked back at him with a confused expression and said ¡°I am the leader of this group. What do you want kid?¡±


    ¡°I am here to join your group in your trip towards Royal Capital¡± Long Huan replied like it was perfectly normal thing. And indeed, as soon as the captain heard this, he burst out laughing. In the eyes of captain, Long Huan was a mortal since he obviously didn¡¯t believe that this youth in front of him had a cultivation level higher than him.


    ¡°What can a little mortal punk like you do? You¡¯ll probably be dead in seconds against the weakest of monsters. Don¡¯t waste my time boy, scram.¡± The captain said with a small frown towards the end of his sentence. Seeing as how this fellow was not taking him seriously, Long Huan decided to play tough and with a smirk said ¡°What If I can beat you in combat? Will I be capable enough to travel with you then?¡±


    This time instead of laughing, the captain was clearly angry and said ¡°Kid, I¡¯ll repeat last time, walk away or I¡¯ll force you to leave¡±.


    ¡°Then why don¡¯t you try forcing me to leave?¡± Long Huan replied non-chalantly like whatever the captain said was not a threat to him.


    ¡°You asked for this kid¡± captain said, now quite pissed and shoved his hands to push Long Huan away. Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn¡¯t even budge him. He then used both of his arms, but the result was the same. By this time, the duo had attracted quite a lot of attention and the people around them for shocked to see that the captain of Dawn¡¯s spring, who was a peak Spirit Condensation Realm expert couldn¡¯t even budge a mortal kid.


    Eventually the captain realized that the kid was still smiling at him and realized this guy was not normal. He then revolved his Spirit and his body started glowing in a faint red light. A war hammer suddenly appeared in his hand and he prepared to swing it towards the kid. The people around were shocked that the captain was using his fire-attributed Spirit and dealing a heavy blow to a mortal kid. Wasn¡¯t he just spelling death for that kid? Yet what happened next almost made their eyes pop out of their sockets. Just as the war hammer was about to hit the kid, it deviated from its original path and struck the ground next to the kid, creating huge cracks on it. The captain realized that some kind of powerful force had pushed his attack around the kid like there was a protective dome around him. He tried a few more times but each time his attack was pushed around like his war hammer was a toy and not a spirit weapon of earth rank.


    The captain was at the peak of Spirit Condensation Realm and he didn¡¯t believe that this young boy in front of him was in Core Formation Realm, since not even the best talents of the empire had reached that realm so young. ¡°Maybe this kid has an artefact¡± the captain thought and stopped attacking.


    ¡°Alright kid, you have proven that you are capable enough to travel with us. Wait here till we find another 2 guys and then we¡¯ll be off. I¡¯ll advice you to pack a few necessary items since our journey will take 3 days of time.¡± The captain said and then turned around to inform his team. Long Huan nodded in satisfaction, walked to a corner and closed his eyes. He did not need any necessary items since he did not need food and he could clean his body & clothes easily with his powers. The surrounding people were shocked to see the captain allowing a mortal to travel with them but since they just saw the prowess of this mortal looking kid, nobody refuted.     Long Huan opened his eyes and followed the group towards the caravan and an assortment of horses waiting nearby. Everyone was assigned a horse, including Long Huan and he didn¡¯t know how to ride one. He watched a few people nearby and instantly knew what to do. He could mentally control the horse, but then the fun of horse-riding will be lost that way. After a few minutes of getting himself acquainted, he got the knack for it and followed others. The captain was watching him the entire time and it confirmed his suspicions that Long Huan was not normal when he saw him learning to ride a hose like a veteran in a matter of few minutes.


    The group proceeded outside the gates of the city, towards the Holy Dragon Kingdom.


    (After 2 days)


    Long Huan was currently napping atop his horse like he wasn¡¯t sitting on a horse but a comfortable sofa. And indeed, Long Huan had manipulated the laws around the horse to make its back softer and more comfortable. If the higher level cultivators saw Long Huan applying the principle of Turning Hard to Soft principle of the Dao of Softness as easily as eating a candy, they¡¯ll probably puke blood and die from disbelief. It takes a very long time for a cultivator to get enough insights into a law to use any principle related to it, but Long Huan was an exception to this rule. All the laws in the Multiverse were under his control so he was basically a cheat.


    During this 2 days of travel, nothing major happened and all Long Huan did was sleep. Honestly he was getting quite bored but it seemed like it wouldn¡¯t last long since he had sensed a lot of human signatures making their way towards them from the opposite direction. And sure enough, after 10 minutes everyone in the group heard the galloping of horses and dust rising from the opposite direction. Everyone in their group took out their weapons except Long Huan since he didn¡¯t have one and became alert. Soon they could see dozens of black clothed figured coming towards them in their horses with no good intentions. Long Huan recognised this attire, it was the same attire the people who attacked Shi Lan and Han Bai were wearing. There were around 50 of the black clothed figured while Long Huan¡¯s group had only 20. They were clearly outnumbered and if a battle started, things were looking bad for them.


    The group of bandits stopped a few metres away from their group and a man came out a few steps ahead showing his position as the leader. He had a large scar running across his face and held a large broadsword in his hand.

    Both sides clashed and an Earth-shattering battle started. Most of the people here were in Body Enhancement stage with a few being in Spirit-Condensation Stage. The battle between Spirit Condensation stage practitioners was quite a sight to behold as they were using martial skills to attack their opponents. One of the black clothed Spirit Condensation stage practitioner spat a purple viper from his mouth which flew towards his opponent only to be met with a huge sword slash made out of fire which burned it to oblivion. Another guy produced a few ice spikes beneath his opponent who jumped to dodge it and retaliated by making a few arrows out of compressed air and firing back. After a few hours of continuous battle, a few casualties started appearing on both sides, with Long Huan¡¯s side with an obvious loss. After losing 6 of his men, the captain was feeling depressed and was considering whether they could really stop this attack when a claw made out of darkness slashed towards his chest which he couldn¡¯t evade in time and got injured. The black clothed leader laughed menacingly and was just about to slash captain¡¯s neck when he froze like a statue. Not missing the opportunity, the captain quickly beheaded the leader and his head fell down with a thud. The remaining black clothed guys after seeing their leader dead started panicking ad a few of them started to run, but will the captain allow that? He dashed towards the escaping people and beheaded them before they could retaliate. Other than the black clothed leader, nobody was captain¡¯s match in this battlefield and captain started a bloody massacre with a crazed expression to avenge his fallen brothers. In 10 minutes, all the black clothed men were dead and there were corpses littered around everywhere. The captain was panting heavily and sighed in relief after realizing everything was over. He looked towards Long Huan and found him still napping on his horse like a bloody battle just didn¡¯t happen here. He grateful look to him because he knew that the reason behind the black clothed leader freezing mid-battle could only be accomplished by this young boy full of mysteries. He didn¡¯t blame him for not saving his brothers since he was not obliged to do so.


    The rest of the group salvaged what little they could and everyone moved away from the area before some powerful monster gets attracted to the smell of blood. The group decided to rest once they were several kilometres away and heal their injuries.


    The next day, a group of armoured men were seen outside the gigantic gates of the Holy Dragon City. Long Huan could see that the entire capital was protected by a dome of thick spirit energy which would be quite hard to break even for a high-level cultivator. The walls of the capital were five times larger than the walls of phoenix city and looked quite intimidating. They arrived in front of a large door which were hundreds of metres in height. A few dozen heavily armoured cards wearing golden cape were guarding the entrance and as soon as they noticed their group, they allowed them to directly bypass the line of people waiting to enter.

    Long Huan realized that he would first need to analyse this so called cultivation first and learn how to fake his cultivation base before he could do anything else. He reached the inn called ¡®Dagon¡¯s Egg¡¯ and booked a room for 1 with 50 silver.


    ¡°Mister, can you tell me where can I buy books in this city?¡± Long Huan asked the Inn owner.


    ¡°You can try ¡®Murphy¡¯s Tales¡¯ down the street. It¡¯s a popular book store around this area.¡± The inn owner, a middle-aged man with a bulging belly replied.


    Long Huan thanked him and headed towards the book store. He found it down the street and went in. He looked around a bit and selected all the books having information on the geography of this world he could buy and a few books about cultivation and related things. All together he spent 30 gold and went back to his room carrying a huge sack full of books.


    ¡°I had seen a few people wearing rings with special storage in it. Hmm¡­..I can use that¡± Long Huan thought as he opened the door to his room and put the books on table. He took them out and started reading them one-by-one. A cheat like him took only 10 minutes to finish them all and he started pondering on the information he received.


    This world had 5 continents ¨C Humas, Beastia, Yggdrasil, Seamoor and the Central Continent. Long Huan was currently in the continent of Humas where the humans lived in majority. Beastia was dominated by the beastmen, Yggdrasil was home to the Elves and Dwarves, Seamoor was ruled by the Dragons with their kin and the Central Continent was where all the elites of the world gathered and there was an even mixture of all races there. The entire continent was under the collective rule of 4 Holy Sects and 10 Aristocratic Families. The Holy Dragon Empire that he was currently in was under the jurisdiction of Ancestral Phoenix Sect. There was not much information regarding the other continents. The cultivation books didn¡¯t help him understanding the principles of cultivation but he did gain some information regarding it.


    Apparently cultivation was divided into 10 Realms ¨C Body Enhancement>Spirit Condensation>Core Formation>Dao Seed>Dao Ascension>Dao Lord>Dao King>Dao Ancestor>Dao Emperor>Dao Immortal. When you reach Dao Immortal realm, you can ascend to the higher.


    Anything related to cultivation, be it pills, weapons, techniques, etc. was graded from Mortal>Earth>Heaven>Divine>Celestial>Immortal>True Immortal>God.


    Long Huan realized that he was in a backwater kingdom and immediately scratched his idea of joining any sect here. If he¡¯ll join some sect, he¡¯ll only join the best otherwise where¡¯s the fun? He also found about an organisation called Adventurer¡¯s Guild. It had its headquarters in the Central Continent and its branches were spread out throughout all the continents. He had also planned to sneak into one of the sects tomorrow and take a look at their cultivation techniques so he could understand the principals behind it and fake his cultivation when it was necessary.

 Chapter 3: The Dragon Empress

    The next day Long Huan woke up and started planning on what to do next. He first decided to get a hold of a cultivation technique and learn the principles behind cultivation since he was incredibly interested as how the life-forms of this universe absorbed energy. His next goal would be to solve his money problem. Then at last, he¡¯ll join the Adventurer¡¯s Guild and take some missions. He had heard that some difficult missions could take you to some extremely dangerous places around the continent and that kind of adventure was what Long Huan desired.


    He disappeared from his room and reappeared above the Rising Sun Sect. It was located in the western side of the capital city and from the hubbub there, Long Huan could tell that the Recruitment Test had already begun. He was interested in how these sects tested the participants so before stealing some cultivation techniques, he decided to observe this so called Test. Nobody could notice his existence even though he was floating a few metres above the seat of the Grand Elder of Rising Sun Sect.


    From the discussions happening below, Long Huan got to know that the first round of the test was going on and all the participants were sitting upon a huge platform in front of a gigantic mirror. This mirror was a Heaven-rank spirit artefact of Rising Sun Set and could produce powerful illusions. The aim of the test was to test the martial heart of these participants and whoever managed to shatter the illusion passed the test.


    ¡°Quite a straightforward method. But, what is a martial heart?¡± Long Huan thought as he observed the disciples struggling to break the illusion. After a few hours, only 200 participants could shatter the illusion out of 1000 participants and passed the first round.


    The next round was a test of comprehension. They were given a set of martial techniques and told to pick one and gain as much insights as they can in 3 hours. It was quite difficult for the participants but thankfully the techniques given were mortal-rank & were not very complicated to understand. After 3 hours only 100 participants could gain satisfactory insights into the martial techniques and passed the second round. It was announced that these 100 participants were all qualified to be a part of the 3 great sects but needed to go through a combat round to decide final ranking of the test. The weaker cultivators among the participants sighed in relief thinking even if they lose in the next round, atleast they could still join a sect.


    The combat round started and participants started fighting in 1vs 1 duels. Though death was not allowed, certain arrogant cultivators did cripple their opponents but since they were talented seeds, the sect members conducting the test only verbally berated them and did nothing. The last match was between a beautiful girl with silver hair just like Long Huan, albeit a bit darker and an arrogant looking red-haired youth in golden robes.


    ¡°Xiao Wei, I suggest you give up your futile resistance and accept your fate as my concubine. I have already killed that childhood friend of yours and even your parents have agreed to our marriage. Why are you so stubborn?¡± the red-haired youth asked the silver-haired girl with a lustful gaze. She gritted her teeth and tears were visible on her eyes. With a shaking voice, she replied ¡°You despicable dog, how could you kill Chen¡¯er? You knew he was like a bother to me and we weren¡¯t like that yet you still murdered him? And you think threatening my parents and forcing them to agree to your proposal will make me accept you? Hmph, over my dead body. I¡¯ll prefer marrying a beggar than marrying a dog like you.¡± She spat, clearly angry towards the end of her sentence.


    The red haired youth was clearly angry from her reply. ¡°Since you have already chosen the path of death, I¡¯ll happily send you on your way. I¡¯ll kill you now and then slaughter your family. You can regret your decisions in the afterlife. Now die!¡± With that he produced a red spear in his hands and dashed towards the girl named Xiao Wei with a clear intention to kill. The sect members nearby did nothing to stop him and by the looks of fear in their faces, they were probably afraid of the red- haired youth¡¯s background.


    That red-haired guy was in 4<sup>th</sup> stage of Spirit Condensation Realm, while Xiao Wei was in 2<sup>nd</sup> stage of Spirit Condensation Realm. Plus the red-haired guy was clearly from a rich background and he had strong skills backing him up. The result was not a surprise and after a few moves, his spear penetrated the girl¡¯s chest and she dropped dead. The red haired youth kicked her face a few times and walked off stage. A disciple came and carried the dead girl¡¯s body off the stage.


    ¡°What a cruel world¡± Long Huan thought as he watched the entire fight and listened to their conversation. Those with power could do anything here and morals went down the drain in front of might. Long Huan was just about to depart from this place when he stopped and a surprised expression appeared on his face. There were a very few things which could genuinely surprise an existence like Long Huan.


    Long Huan had sensed a powerful distortion of Dao of Life & Death in this area just now. This distortion was so huge that anyone cultivating those two Daos would have felt it in a few hundred kilometre radius. But sadly Dao of Life & Death were two of the Grand Daos and nobody in this backwater country was talented enough to study them. A few minutes later, the unconscious disciple woke up and was confused. ¡°What am I doing here? Shouldn¡¯t I be helping Elder Yuan deal with any problems arising during the recruitment test? I should hurry up or I¡¯ll dead¡± thought the young disciple and hurried back to where he came from. When he went back, everyone assumed he had disposed of the girl¡¯s body and nobody asked him anything.


    Long Huan appeared inside his room in ¡®Dragon¡¯s Egg¡¯ and laid the dead body of the silver-haired girl on his bed. After a few minutes, her heart started beating again and the girl slowly opened her eyes. Long Huan had noticed that the girl had blue eyes and now there were golden in colour which gave a majestic and domineering edge to her looks. She tried lifting her upper body but suddenly held her head with an anguished expression as if in great pain. Long Huan quickly put his hand on her head and her expression eased a bit. She stared at Long Huan with a confused face and asked ¡°Who are you?¡±


    Long Huan smirked and asked back ¡°Do you know who you are?¡±


    ¡°Why, I am the Drag¡­¡­..¡±before she could answer, her face paled as if she remembered something important and then morphed into an extremely angry expression. Her body stated emitting killing intent so thick that even Long Huan was surprised by this sudden change in her behaviour. He had sensed that the girl in front of him was not Xiao Wei but someone else. As for who she was, he had no idea.


    ¡°Hey calm down, if you emit such thick killing intent, somebody will notice it and it will attract unwanted attention to us.¡± Long Huan said in a soothing tone trying to calm her down. The girl calmed down after listening to Long Huan but he could hear her mutter ¡°Damn that despicable back-stabbing dog, how could they betray brother? How could Freya betray me? Brother¡­¡­¡± towards the end of her sentence she started crying and Long Huan stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. Seeing as how her crying was getting more intense, he guessed she must have gone through something terrible situation and it was best for her to let her emotions out of her heart. He sat beside her and caressed her hair ¡°Hey, everything is ohk. I don¡¯t know what happened to you, but you are still alive and that¡¯s all that matters.¡± Though his words were not very encouraging, he couldn¡¯t find anything else to say. But his words had some effect and the girl started calming down. After a few minutes she was back to normal but her expression was anything but normal. It was constantly switching from anger, grief, guilt & disbelief.


    Long Huan became truly curious about this lady and using Dao of Fate, he glanced into the past of the soul residing in the silver-haired girl¡¯s body. What he found really shocked him. The true body of this soul had already died and its soul was supposed to dissipate into the River of Fate according to the laws of this Universe but something or someone has interfered with this process and forced the soul to find a new host in the endless cosmos. It was a matter of huge co-incidence that the soul ended up choosing the silver-haired girl¡¯s body after her death. She was incredibly proud of him and often reminisced of the time when they struggled in the path of cultivation in their younger days. Never in her wildest dream had she ever imagined that the same frail looking younger brother of hers would one day become of the Ruler of all. The sudden rise of his power had always been a mystery to the people of Immortal Realm, but as his elder sister how could Tian Wei not know?


    They were humans of humble origins in the mortal realm and had an above average talent. After many bloody wars and sacrifices, they had successfully made it to the pinnacle of power in mortal realm and successfully ascended. But it was just the beginning of their hardships. The united army created by Tian Wu, led by Tian Wei managed to massacre all the devils and the portal to the Abyss Realm closed.


    When Tian Wei heard that Tian Wu had followed the Abyss King to the Abyss Realm, she almost fainted from shock. But his life talisman was still intact meaning he was alive. Soon, Tian Wu was declared the next Celestial Emperor and there were no objections regarding that. Tian Wu was the one who had united all the species and made a united army otherwise it would have been impossible to fight the devils. He was strong enough to fight the Abyss King equally and was the strongest person of the Immortal Plane after the death of the Celestial Emperor. A new Celestial army was created under the lead of Tian Wei and they all patiently waited for the day when Tian Wu would return and take his throne.


    Unbeknownst to Tian Wei, there was a danger she had failed to notice lurking in the shadows. The man who was awarded with the title of Celestial General, the leader of the Celestial army, a man that the Tian sibling respected deeply, a man who always had a smile on his face was not the man they thought him to be.


    While Tian Wei was gazing out of her window, suddenly a *crack* was heard and a spatial door opened right in front of Tian Wei¡¯s window. From the door, a man wearing golden robes walked out. He was heavily injured but still stood upright and emitted a majestic aura.


    With disbelief in her eyes, Tian Wei flew out of her window and stared at her brother. After realizing this was not an illusion, she leaped into his embrace and started crying. Tuan Wu just laughed ¡°Sis, Did you really think that damn worm would be able to kill me?¡±


    ¡°Shut up you idiot! Who told you to jump into the Abyss Realm like some madman? Couldn¡¯t you wait for us? Idiot! Stupid!¡± Tian Wei kept hitting his chest with anger clearly visible on her face but after realizing the state of her brother stopped and gasped ¡°Oh my God, you are in a terrible condition. The wounds on your body don¡¯t look like they could be naturally healed. Come on, let¡¯s go to Li Mei. She is best in healing techniques. I am sure she¡¯ll be incredibly happy to see her husband all alive and well.¡±


    ¡°Li Mei¡­¡± Tian Wu whispered with a melancholic look and nodded his head. He followed his sister to Li Mei¡¯s room, which was surprisingly wide open. Feeling something suspicious, the Tian siblings entered the room only to be met with a horrible sight. Li Mei¡¯s body lay dead on the floor and Qin Tai was standing near her body holding a blue crystal.


    ¡°NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡±


    Tian Wu screamed and rushed towards Li Mei¡¯s body only to be kicked back by Qin Tai. Tian Wu was heavily injured and in his current condition, even a normal Celestial soldier could kill him let alone Qin Tai who was the Celestial general.


    ¡°Hehehehe¡­.Tian Wu, just look at your face. I am really enjoying this right now. Seeing that look of despair and agony on your face gives me unimaginable joy. Hahahahaha¡± Qin Tai said laughing in an extremely creepy manner.


    ¡°Qin Tai, what¡¯s the meaning of this? We trusted you and even saved your life. Is this how you repay us?¡± Tian Wei said and tried to distract him in verbal conversation as she slowly started revolving her spirit energy to launch a sneak attack on him. She was planning to use her Dao Domain to catch him off guard.


    ¡°Heh, you better stop trying anything funny or else your sister in law will be dead in true body and soul¡± Qin Tai said and raised the blue crystal. Tian Wei stared at the crystal and realized that there was a figure trapped inside the crystal. It was Li Mei! It was her true soul trapped inside! Tian Wei then realized that the crystal in Qin Tai¡¯s hand was one of the 10 Heavenly Treasures, The Crystal of Infinity. It had the power to trap a True Soul after the death of a cultivator and keep it sealed. Only the owner of the crystal could release the soul.     ¡°Otherwise what? WHAT? What can you do? If you move even a single finger, I¡¯ll extinguish her soul right now. If you don¡¯t want to watch your wife die, keep standing there like a good little dog and watch the fun.¡±


    Qin Tai spat and turned his gaze towards Tian Wei with a lustful look ¡°Now, now Princess Wei, I believe everyone¡¯s fate is in your hand. As I am a very generous man, I¡¯ll give you a way to save your brother as well as you sister-in-law. What you need to do is¡­¡­just sign a slave contract with me¡± Qin Tai said with an evil smile.


    ¡°You dare¡­¡­¡± Tian Wu growled but stopped seeing the tiny figure inside the blue crystal twitching and shaking her body as if in great pain.


    ¡°I suggest you to keep your mouth shut Dog or your wife will suffer the consequences. I can torture her soul in any way by keeping her in illusions. Even rape¡­¡±

    With disbelief in her eyes, Tian Wei dropped her weapon and turned around only to see a cold smile on the face of her best friend, a woman known as the goddess of beauty, a beastwoman she had befriended after arriving at the Immortal Plane. They had fought many bloody battles together and had become best of friends after so many years. She couldn¡¯t believe that the same Freya could betray her.


    ¡°Why¡­..you¡­¡­.?¡± That was the last thing Tian Wei could say before strength left her body and she fell down.


    ¡°SISTER!!!!!!¡± Tian Wu cried out and rushed towards her but mid-way her got surrounded by a dome of red energy which he couldn¡¯t break no matter how many times he tried. He was in no condition to fight, let alone use his sword which was not visible on his body. Even Tian Wei had noticed that Tian Wu was not carrying his sword but she never got the chance to ask him.


    Tian Wei was lying on the floor bleeding profusely while her soul was almost on the verge of dissipating. Cultivators of her level could not be killed even if their heart got punctured or their head was sliced off, but the attack dealt by Freya also carried a powerful soul attack which caught Tian Wei off guard and she couldn¡¯t protect herself in time. Freya was the best cultivator when it comes to soul attacks in the whole Immortal Plane and if caught off guard, even the best of cultivators will suffer miserably under her attack. Ofcourse, a simple soul barrier can easily dispel her attack but since Tian Wei trusted Freya with her life, she never bothered to put a defensive barrier around her soul when she sensed her aura. And that was what took her life¡­¡­


    With the last remaining strength Tian Wei could muster, she uttered ¡°Who¡­¡­are¡­.you?¡± She was looking at Qin Tai.


    Qin Tao smirked seeing her miserable appearance. ¡°Tch¡­.what a pity. If only you had agreed to be my slave, I would have played with you all day. Well, now that you are on your death¡¯s bed I suppose it is fair to reveal my identity. Hmm¡­..I¡¯ll give you a clue. My grandson was the young master of Heavenly Devil Sect.¡±


    The moment the Tian siblings heard that, they understood. Tian Wu had massacred the entire Heavenly Devil Sect. If Qin Tai was telling the truth, then the enmity between them was deep as abyss.


    With a final glance at her crying brother, Tian Wei took her last breath.

 Chapter 4: Ancestral Dragon Skill

    While Long Huan was staring at her, the girl was also observing him. He was extremely handsome, even more handsome than her brother. His silver hair added a mysterious aura to him. And his pitch black eyes, there was something special about them that she couldn¡¯t discern. Whenever she stared into his eyes, she found herself lost in their depths.


    Long Huan¡¯s starry eyes was only visible to people having very high insights into Dao, especially Dao close to the origin of Universe since his eyes contained a reflection of the origin firmament. It was not something anyone ordinary could glimpse upon. To any other cultivator, they appeared to be normal pitch black eyes.


    Seeing as how the silver-haired girl, or Tian Wei was staring into his eyes, he coughed awkwardly and she woke up from her stupor. With a vigilant expression she said ¡°Why did you bring me here? As far as I remember I lost to Wu Kong and fainted.¡± It seemed like she gained the memories of her current body¡¯s owner and was trying to fool Long Huan.


    ¡°Heh Miss, you don¡¯t need to act in front of me. I know very well that you are not the true owner of this body. You clearly died in that match and thousands of people saw it. If not for my timely rescue, your body would have already been burnt to crisps.¡± Long Huan said with a smirk.


    Seeing his smile, Tian Wei had a strong urge to punch him but controlled herself. She was shocked that this young man knew the truth but it was not strange seeing as how the original owner of the body had truly in front of many people. But she still refused to accept anything he was saying.


    ¡°What are you talking about? Have you gone crazy?¡± Tian Wei asked and made a genuinely confused face.


    Seeing her acting, Long Huan smiled and disappeared from his position. Tian Wei was startled but then she heard a loud *smack* and felt a stinging pain in her ass. She turned around and noticed Long Huan standing there with a smile.


    ¡°Did this guy just sm¡­smacked my a¡­ass? He dare¡­¡­¡± Tian Wei thought and gave him a vicious glare.


    ¡°Now, now, this type of behaviour doesn¡¯t suit the Dragon Empress now does it? Long Huan said with a mischievous smile. He was still thinking about the soft sensation he felt when he smacked her. It was written in one of the books he had bought that doing this gives pleasure to the woman. It was also written that when a woman does something wrong, this method was used to punish her. The title of the book was ¡®Rule the world with your sword¡¯. Long Huan had no idea that it was a book about sex and had no idea the actions written there couldn¡¯t be performed outside the bed. But even if he did, he still wouldn¡¯t understand what it signified.


    Tian Wei had a horrified face. She forgot all about the incident just now and she was shocked that this young man knew her identity. She had long ago realized that instead of dissipating, her soul had somehow found another vessel and she was no longer in Immortal Plane. But how could this young man in front of her know about her circumstances? She had initially planned to go along and continue acting like the original owner of the body until she figured out where and why was she here but now it looked like all her plans went down the drain.


    ¡°You¡­..How did you know?¡± Tian Wei said with thick killing intent. She really wanted to kill him but judging by her words and the last remaining memories of this body¡¯s original owner, this young man indeed seemed to have saved her life which meant he didn¡¯t mean her any harm. Plus, she had realized that when the original owner of the body died, her cultivation base dissipated meaning she was a mortal now and couldn¡¯t kill him even if she wanted to.

    With this decided he gently sat beside the girl and said ¡°Is that all you have got? Have you resigned yourself to your fate? Are you giving up? Are you giving up on your brother who could probably still be alive? Are you giving up on your sister-in-law who is still trapped in that crystal? Are you giving up on taking revenge for what happened to you? Are you¡­¡­.giving up on the second chance you got to change your destiny and those close to you?¡±


    By the end of his sentence, Tian Wei had removed her hands from her face and there was a fire burning in her eyes. ¡°Looks like her spirit is back¡± Long Huan thought and nodded.

    ¡°Hmm¡­.I have a pretty strong grasp over Dao of Fate and I can glimpse into your past that way. But I can only see how you died. Not anything beyond that.¡± Long Huan lied. Obviously he could see everything and he already had but telling her the truth was probably not the best idea.

    Long Huan furrowed his brows. He? An old man?

Yes, why does your ass feels so soft?¡± Long Huan asked with genuine curiosity. He had no idea that a young man, even if crazy, should never ask this type of question. Yet¡­..


    ¡°You¡­¡­.Not once but¡­.twice. You are dead!!!¡± Tian Wei screamed and jumped towards Long Huan with her hands stretched out as if going to punch him. Long Huan did nothing to stop her and just stood there with his hands in his pockets. Long Huan scratched his hands and took her injured hands into his. Tian Wei blushed. This was the first time a male other than her brother was holding her hands.


    ¡°You¡­¡± before she could stay anything, she realized the pain in her hands disappear. She looked back at her hands and felt they were back to normal, with no fracture in her hands. She then looked back at Long Huan with suspicious glare. Only people in Immortal Plane or someone with innate skills could heal injured instantly no matter how powerful they are. This was clearly not the Immortal Plane so innate skill? She greatly doubted this possibility. She then remembered how he touched her ass twice and even had the audacity to ask why it felt soft? Thus guy¡­¡­..Tian Wei raised her hands to punch him again.


    ¡°Calm down girl. You¡¯ll end up hurting yourself. Before we do anything else, what do you plan on doing now?¡± Long Huan asked curious. Though he decided to help her, if she turned out to be boring he¡¯ll leave her as soon as possible.

    ¡°Sure. Have a seat.¡± Long Huan said and sat down in his bed. Tian Wei sat beside him and Long Huan started ¡°We are currently in the Mortal Plane. Right now, we are in the capital city of Holy Dragon Empire, in the continent of Humas. Hmm¡­.this country falls under the jurisdiction of Ancestral Phoenix Sect. There are 3 major powers aside from the Imperial Clan in this country- Sword Immortal Sect, Rising Sun Sect & Roaring Lion Sect. Well, that¡¯s all the information I know. I am new to this place too, so I have no idea about anything else.¡±


    ¡°Hmm, that much is plenty¡± Tian Wei said and starting pondering. Judging from his actions and behaviour, this young man surely looks like someone who doesn¡¯t know much about social norms and all, seeing as how he asked her such an inappropriate question with a straight face like it was completely normal. Back to her topic, she was in mortal plane as expected.


    Since she had never heard of this country in her past life, it should be a fairly remote and backwater country. In her past life, she and her brother were disciples of Heavenly God Sect, one of the four Holy Sects governing the continent of Humas and she was planning to join it again. The atmosphere there was quite good for cultivation and there was a certain thing there which she had failed to acquire in her past life but this time it¡¯ll be hers.     ¡°What is wrong with me? Why am I getting affected so much by this guy? Not even the most handsome man of Immortal Plane could attract my attention. Yeah, this must be the fault of this body!¡± Tian Wei scolded herself and in the end blamed the innocent body of the previous owner.


    She then realized that perhaps this was the last time she will be meeting this young man and became a bit sad. He did save her and was perfectly aware of her circumstance. He looked pretty strong too. If he could travel with her¡­¡­¡­¡­¡­


    ¡°No, No, No!!!! I¡¯ll not travel with this perverted man!¡± Tian Wei declared in her heart but she knew she desired a companion. Even when she was a kid, her brother had always been with her and she was never alone. Now she was going to venture into an incredibly dangerous journey and there was no one to accompany her.


    But then she remembered Freya and how she got betrayed by her best friend and decided being alone was the best.


    ¡°Long Hun, thank you for saving me and encouraging me when I was down. I owe you a big one and someday I¡¯ll definitely repay it.¡± Tian Wei stood and bowed to Long Huan. He was surprised but seeing her determined gaze understood that she wanted to travel alone which made him chuckle. He patted her head and said ¡°Haha, no need to thank me lady. It was in your fate to be saved. I just did my part. I suppose we should part ways here.¡±


    Tian Wei nodded.


    ¡°Hey, close your eyes for a second will you?¡±


    Tian Wei was confused at first and then blushed thinking he¡¯ll do something weird. Seeing her face, Long Huan laughed ¡°Don¡¯t worry, it¡¯ll be for your own good.¡± Tian Wei reluctantly closed her eyes. The next moment she felt Long Huan hands sliding down from her forehead to her chin. ¡°Ohk, that¡¯s done¡± Long Huan said and Tian Wei opened her eyes with a confused face. Long Huan smirked and waved his hand producing a mirror in his hands. To Tian Wei it looked like he took it out from his space ring but he had actually materialized out of thin air. He then held the mirror in front of her face.


    ¡°Ah!!¡± Tian Wei cried in shock after seeing her face and covered it with her hands.


    ¡°How?¡± she asked. She actually looked like her younger past self except the silver hair and golden eyes. Even her silver hair had streaks of golden on them at their base.


    ¡°Hmm¡­..well this is a little something I learned from somewhere. You can¡¯t use the face of the previous owner of this body and walk around in this city now can you? It¡¯ll be better this way. And this change is permanent, not an illusion.¡±


    Tian Wei¡¯s mind short circuited. She had never heard of any technique or treasure that were capable of permanently changing someone¡¯s face. But then, there were a lot of things she wasn¡¯t aware of so she calmed down and gave a grateful look to Long Huan. This will really make things easier for her.


    ¡°No need to thank me again. Before you go on your way, I suggest you take some rest here first. Your body is incredibly weak as of now. I have some matters to attend to so I¡¯ll be back in a few hours.¡± Long Huan said and not waiting for her reply walked out of the room with lightning speed.


    Tian Wei was left there with an open mouth which she closed and angrily stomped her head.


    ¡°That Idiot, how dare he ignore me? Hmph, I definitely don¡¯t want a person like him to accompany me.¡± But he was right and she did feel a bit tired so she laid down on his bed and closed her eyes.


    Outside his room, Long Huan shook his head and teleported above the Rising Sun Sect again. This time without any further ado, he appeared right in front of the building which looked like it may contain some important things of the sect. Long Huan had also sensed that the strongest person in this sect was actually guarding this place so he assumed their cultivation technique should be here as well.


    He scanned the whole building and found a few scrolls at the 6<sup>th</sup> floor which may be what he was looking for. He directly by passed the strong defences of the building and directly appeared in the 6<sup>th</sup> floor. An old man was sitting in front of the building¡¯s entrance who suddenly opened his eyes after feeling something amiss. But after finding nothing from his spirit sense, he closed his eyes again. If Long Huan wanted to be invisible, there was no one in this Universe who could detect him, let alone this old man.


    Long Huan looked around the 6<sup>th</sup> floor and there were only 6 scrolls placed around the whole room and nothing else. He went near one scroll and picked it up. It read ¡°Thousand Swords Sutra¡± and was luckily a cultivation technique. Long Huan excitedly opened it and started reading. He was done in 2 minutes and placed the scroll back.


    ¡°Now I get what this cultivation is all about. They use the meridians in their body to channel energy and store it in a place called dantian. Each cultivation technique differs in how the energy is channelled and how many meridians are used to revolve the energy. The more meridians used, the higher the grade of the cultivation technique. Hmm¡­.I should read a few more just to be sure¡± Long Huan thought and started reading all the scrolls in the room one by one. 3 of them were cultivation technique while the rest 3 where martial techniques.


    ¡°These techniques are really mediocre. They don¡¯t even use 2/5th of meridians in a human¡¯s body.¡± Long Huan thought in his heart.     After reading everything, Long Huan was sure of his theory and had thought of a way to fake his cultivation base. Tian Wei had already left and there was a note on his bed saying ¡°Thank you again Long Huan for helping me so much. I don¡¯t know if we¡¯ll ever meet again, but if we do then I¡¯ll definitely repay this favour one day. Until then, goodbye¡±


    It was a short message but Long Huan understood her meaning. ¡°Heh, with her strength she wants to travel all alone by herself? Well, this seems more interesting. I wonder how long she can hold on? Hehehe¡±


    The note disappeared from his hand and he went down to eat some lunch. He liked to eat what these humans called ¡®food¡¯ and it tasted delicious. He never missed an opportunity to try new dishes. He had already decided to taste all kinds of cuisines all over the world during his adventure.


    He ordered the best dish of this inn and while he was waiting for meal, he spread his senses throughout the city and quickly found where Tian Wei was. She was currently walking towards the forest outside the city.

 Chapter 5: Will you accompany me?

    As soon as Long Huan left, Tian Wei had rested for an hour before getting up and writing a small note for Long Huan. She smiled writing the note and reminiscing about the time when she used to leave similar notes for her brother when she had something to do.


    After that, she walked outside the inn and headed towards the City Gates. The first thing she wanted to do was to try the Ancestral Dragon Skill and for that she needed a fairly secluded place. There must be a forest range outside the city and that was the place she was aiming for. Soon she was several kilometres away from the city, inside the forest.


    She located a mountain in the distance and headed there. After reaching the base of the mountain, she searched around for a bit and finally found what she was looking for ¨C a cave. After checking there was no one inside, she went in and sat down cross-legged. The Ancestral Dragon Skill appeared in her mind and she started circulating it. This technique had nine stages and each stage will give her two innate true dragon skills.


    Innate skills were quite rare in the cultivation world and it was even rarer for a human to have one. Innate skills used very minute amount of spirit energy to be activated and thus someone with them had an unfair advantage over someone who doesn¡¯t. Innate skills were pretty common among monsters and the reason why higher ranked monsters were so feared.


    Suddenly a dragon totem appeared in Tian Wei¡¯s dantian and sprit energy in the surroundings started rushing towards her rapidly. After a few minutes, there was a loud dragon roar which came out of her dantian and reverberated throughout the mountain range. After her body became saturated with energy, Tian Wei guided the energy towards her meridian and circulated it according to Ancestral Dragon Skill, then finally guiding it to her dantian. As soon as the energy reached her dantian, the dragon totem started absorbing it in frenzy and it started glowing. After the totem was full, it released an azure colour energy which spread throughout Tian Wei¡¯s body and strengthened her bones and muscles. Slowly, Tian Wei opened her eyes and smiled. She had stepped onto the first stage of Body Enhancement Realm, but the azure colour energy released by that totem had strengthened her body to a whole new level and she was pretty sure she could easily defeat an ordinary stage 3 Body Enhancement Realm cultivator with ease.


    Just as she was planning to continue, a group of cultivators arrived in front of her cave. There were 3 boys and two middle-aged men. Surprisingly, one of the boys among them was Wu Kong, the same person who killed the previous owner of Tian Wei¡¯s body. Even though she didn¡¯t know him personally, as soon as she saw him she felt a strong desire to kill him. When Wu Kong spotted her, he was shocked as she looked like Xiao Wei but upon closer inspection he relaxed since her face was different. Just the colour of their hair was same, that¡¯s all.


    But then Wu Kong felt a strong desire to make this woman his. Xiao Wei rejecting him repeatedly had left a bad taste in his mouth. He was the young master of Wu Clan, the clan who was in control of majority of Rising Sun Sect and everybody respected and worshipped the ground he walked. Any girl will be delighted to be his concubine, yet that bitch Xiao Wei had actually denied him. He felt his lungs burning just thinking about it. But the woman in front of him was much more charming and beautiful than Xiao Wei. Her golden eyes gave her a special graceful aura and Wu Kong loved ravaging this type of women.


    ¡°Hello young lady, if you don¡¯t mind can I have the pleasure of knowing your name?¡± Wu Kong asked and gave her a gentle and charismatic smile.     ¡°Heh, girl I asked you politely but you refused. I don¡¯t have any patience to deal with you any longer. You are coming with us and that¡¯s final. Tie her up and gag her. We don¡¯t want her screaming the way back.¡± Wu Kong said with an evil smile and there was lust clearly visible in his eyes.


    Tian Wei tried resisting but the middle-aged man was many times stronger than her and tied her hands and legs. Then he stuffed a piece of cloth in her mouth. She was really depressed that as soon as she left the city, she met with trouble and she was too weak to resist. She felt pain in her heart knowing nobody will come to her rescue. In her past life, whenever she was in trouble her brother always came to save her but now, who will?


    ¡°Haha¡­..I leave you for a few hours alone and you are already in such deep trouble. I really wonder where you get your confidence to walk around alone without the strength to protect yourself.¡± Suddenly a young voice full of masculinity and mischievousness resounded everywhere around the group. Wu Kong was startled and even the middle-aged men were alert. They couldn¡¯t sense anybody around them meaning whoever this person was many times stronger than them.


    As soon as Tian Wei heard this voice, she smiled and a few tears appeared in her eyes.


    ¡°Hah¡­..in the end that idiot had to come acting like a knight in a shining armour to save the damsel in distress. I have no idea how strong he is, but judging by the alert looks in the faces of these people, maybe he does have a chance.¡± Tian Wei though and relaxed.


    ¡°Who are you? Reveal yourself!¡± Wu Kong shouted but fear was clearly evident in his eyes. A few metres in front of the group, a few leaves fluttered and suddenly a handsome young man with silver hair appeared in front of them. He was dressed in black robes which further emphasized his hair. He had pitch black eyes and was staring at them with a smiling face.


    ¡°Ohho, so it is that red-haired fellow again. Tian Wei, I really applaud your luck to encounter him of all people in this vast forest. But it¡¯s a good thing in a way. You can kill him and satisfy Xiao Wei¡¯s dying wish no?¡±


    Tian Wei just rolled he eyes. This guy considered everything as part of some drama. Wu Kong was clearly angry since he was the only red-haired here. Though he didn¡¯t know what connection this young man had with Xiao Wei, it didn¡¯t matter since he wanted kill him.


    ¡°Guards, kill this guy for me!¡± Wu Kong screamed. The two middle-aged men swiftly took action and pounced on Long Huan. But before they could come any closer than a metre from Long Huan, they froze in mid-air and their body combusted in white flames. Before they could scream, thei bodies turned into ash and scattered into air. The scene turned deathly silent with Wu Kong and the other 2 boys staring wide-eyed at Long Huan like they had seen a ghost. Long Huan ignored them and walked upto Tian Wei. The ropes tying her disappeared into thin air and she removed her gag.


    Even she was surprised by the prowess of this young man. The flames he used looked like Spirit flames but she had never seen white spirit flames in her past life. This young man was becoming more and more mysterious in her heart. But above all, Tian Wei suddenly felt a warm feeling in her heart. Reasons aside, he actually came searching for her and rescued her. He had no obligations to do so, they were basically strangers.     ¡°Hmph, it was going fine before you came¡± Tian Wei replied and refused to acknowledge her mistake. He was right though, it was indeed silly of her to venture so far away from the capital without any protection.


    ¡°Is that so? Well I guess I shouldn¡¯t have interfered then. In that case I¡¯ll take my leave¡± Long Huan said and turned around to walk away. Tian Wei was startled and scared that he¡¯ll really leave shouted ¡°Wait!¡± and pulled his sleeve. Long Huan turned around with an eyebrow raised.


    ¡°I¡­..may need your¡­..as¡­assistance¡­in something. Hmph, I am just too weak to do anything otherwise I would never ask for your help¡± Tian Wei said with a red face.


    ¡°Hehe¡­is that so? Very well. I¡¯ll help you. What do you want? His head?¡± Long Huan then pointed towards Wu Kong. Wu Kong was scared shitless by seeing the young man pointing in hid direction and with some effort shouted ¡°How dare you kill my guards? Do you know who I am? I am young master of the Wu Clan. If you dare hurt me, Wu Clan will hunt you down to the ends of the world.¡±


    ¡°Such big words¡± Long Huan said and flicked his fingers. Suddenly, Wu Kong¡¯s right hand got cleanly cut-off from his shoulders and fell down with a thud. After registering what happened, Wu Kong felt pain like he had never felt before and started screaming like a pig.


    ¡°I have sealed his spirit energy, he is all yours¡± Long Huan said and materialized a sword in his hands. Tian Wei looked at the sword and then back at the wailing Wu Kong and with a resolute gaze took the sword and walked towards him. Seeing her walking towards him, Wu Kong tried moving away but how could he? A sword came at him with a flash and his head got separated from his body. Tian Wei didn¡¯t waste any words before killing him as she had killed plenty in her last life and speaking anything to such scums was worth nothing.


    Long Huan then looked at the remaining two boys who were shivering from fear and said ¡°Scram!¡± They jumped from fright and disappeared into the forest with their fastest speed.


    ¡°Why did you let them go? If they report this to the Wu Clan then you¡¯ll be in trouble.¡± Tian Wei said as she collected the storage ring from Wu Kong¡¯s finger.


    ¡°They never attacked me and were just following orders. In my eyes they were innocent and I don¡¯t kill innocent people. And if we are talking about Wu Clan then I must tell you the thing which I love the most in this world, is trouble.¡± Long Huan said with a mysterious glint in his eyes.


    Tian Wei was already accustomed to his weirdness and said nothing. She checked inside the storage ring of Wu Kong and was delighted to find many useful things inside. They were pills, weapons, some scrolls and a dusty looking parchment. These things would be useful to her later on.


    ¡°Let¡¯s go.¡± Long Huan said and held his hand out. Tian Wei blushed thinking he was asking to hold hands and walk back. She had mixed feeling about this young man, but overall she knew he was a good fellow so she put her hands on his after some hesitation. But contrary to her expectations, as soon as her hand touched his, her vision blurred and she found herself back in the inn¡¯s room. She was so shocked that her mouth formed a big ¡®O¡¯. Long Huan watching her face had a mischievous idea and materialized a candy and threw it inside her mouth. Tian Wei choked and coughed a few times realizing there was a candy in her mouth. She glared at Long Huan but was inwardly still shocked.


    ¡°Teleportation? That¡¯s impossible!!! Only a cultivator practising Dao of Space from Divine Plane could do that but he was clearly not from Divine Plane. People from higher Plane couldn¡¯t descend to the lower plane. Then how?¡± Tian Wei was mentally frantic when Long Huan spoke.


    ¡°It an innate skill¡±. He had some idea about what innate skills were from a book he read and some of them had pretty amazing powers. Relating this to an innate skill was an excellent idea.


    ¡°It has many limitations. I can only teleport to the places I have been once. Plus, I cannot teleport more than 3 people at a time.¡± Long Huan continued. He obviously could teleport to anywhere he wished and bring as many people he wanted but he didn¡¯t want her to think he was some kind of god so made something up.


    Tian Wei nodded and had to accept it. This was only possible through an innate skill and she had seen petty weird and heaven-defying innate skills in her past life so she was not shocked. She had also heard about a family of Elfs having the same innate skill in Mortal Plane somewhere in their continent, but she never visited any continent other than Humas in her past life.


    ¡°Why did you save me? How did you find me in the first place?¡± Tian Wei asked as she sat down on the bed.

Even though she was aware that this young man was not totally honest with her about his powers and how he knew so much about her, if he wanted to harm her he would have already done so. She had a feeling that he was a good man and she trusted her intuition.


    ¡°Would you like to accompany me on my journey?¡± Tian Wei asked.


    Long Huan was surprised that this girl actually wanted the same thing he wanted. He found her interesting and had a feeling that accompanying this girl would be much more adventurous that travelling alone. She could teach him a lot about this world.


    ¡°Sure¡± Long Huan agreed in a heart-beat. Tian Wei was shocked that he agreed so quickly but then Long Huan continued ¡°I have travelled to this land only for adventure and if travelling with you means more adventure then why not? I have nothing better to do anyways¡± he said with a shrug. Tian Wei giggled listening to his words. People normally had grand ambitions like becoming the strongest or becoming famous but Long Huan only wanted adventure? Quite the mysterious fellow indeed.


    ¡°Then, welcome to the team partner¡± Tian Wei said as she extended her hand. Seeing her raising her hand, Long Huan showed a confused expression. Tian Wei was surprised that he didn¡¯t know the gesture for a simple hand-shake. Wasn¡¯t this common sense that everybody, even a small kid, know? She then remembered her various conversations with Long Huan and realized he really seemed to lack common sense.


    ¡°Where are you from exactly? You don¡¯t seem like you come from any human land¡± Tian Wei said as she gave up shaking his hand.


    ¡°Hmm¡­.for now I can only tell you that I am not from this land and I don¡¯t know much about this place.¡±


    Listening to his reply, Tian Wei was sure that he lacked common sense and thus the responsibility of teaching him that fell on her shoulders since he was her partner. She had a headache just thinking about it.


    ¡°Well, I was thinking shall we join the Adventurer¡¯s Guild. We could do some missions while we travel towards your sect. What¡¯s the fastest way to travel around here by the way?¡± Long Huan asked as he sat down beside her on bed.


    ¡°I agree. By hunting some monsters, we could collect monster cores which are quite useful for cultivation and we could also sell them for money. And the fastest way to travel in this world is through space gates. But I don¡¯t think those will be available here in this backwater region so we¡¯ll need to head towards the closest space gate. I think we can get information about its location in the Adventurer¡¯s Guild.¡±

    Tian Wei¡¯s face turned beet red. Was this guy really shameless or was he really not aware of what sleeping together signified? Judging from his innocent eyes, it was probably the later. She sighed and said ¡°Long Huan, you are probably not aware but a male and a female cannot sleep together on the same bed unless they love each other ohk?¡±


    ¡°Hun? What¡¯s love?¡± Long Huan asked. He really didn¡¯t get why they couldn¡¯t sleep together.


    ¡°Its¡­..well never mind. Just, we can¡¯t sleep together.¡± Tian Wei said with a blush. How can she explain what love is when she herself never experienced it?


    ¡°Well¡­.ohk, I¡¯ll book another room for me I guess¡± Long Huan said and walked out of the room towards the reception to book another room. Tian Wei felt bad for kicking him out of his own room but he was already out and she couldn¡¯t do anything now. With a sigh, she laid down on the bed.


    Long Huan booked another room adjacent to his own and slept there. He was still wondering why he couldn¡¯t sleep with her but since he couldn¡¯t he didn¡¯t pay it any more attention and lost himself in the cosmos of his dream.
