《The Way Of The OP(Canceled)》 Chapter 1: Another World Logan looked up at the sky. "What, two of them?!" Logan had just awoken in the middle of a field with nothing on him but the t-shirt and short he had worn to bed last night. It was supposed to be warm in his bed but all he felt was a cold breeze. He opened his eyes and look at was supposed to be his ceiling but all he saw was a blue sky. His eyes bulged at what he saw next. That¡¯s right he saw two moons. At first he thought it was a dream. But as Logan stood up, looked around, felt his feet on the grass and finally the traditional slap to the face it was becoming less and less likely. ¡°Was I kidnaped?¡± This didn¡¯t seem likely as he was a nobody. He made minimum wage, had no family to pay the ransom and most importantly this didn¡¯t explain the second moon in the sky. Logan didn¡¯t have much time to think of any other theories as a voice seemed to speak directly into his mind. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°Welcome to a new world. To increase you survivability you have been gifted 1 Special Power of your choice. This Special Power will be of your own making. Speak and it shall be yours.¡± The voice had said he could make thispower himself, so he get himself the power to return to earth. But why should he? He had no family, few friend and a job he could care less about. Logan new what this was. He read about it in many of the books a read. Mind you they were all fiction. He had been transported to another world and was being gifted a chance to be an OP MC. The voice had said ¡°wish¡± not skill so he could potentially ask to go back to earth, but why should he? He had no family, few friend and a job he could care less about. Logan had decided then and there that he would forsake earth and live his new OP life in this new world. But the question was what kind of OP power should he get? He had read many stories of people choosing their powers. But there was always one power that Logan never understood why no one wished for. Logan decided to wish for this and if it didn¡¯t work hopefully he would get a second shot. He took a breath and spoke. ¡°I wish for the power to give myself other powers of my choosing¡± Chapter 2: PAIN Logan stood there waiting for something to happen. A minute goes by and still nothing. ¡®Might as well try and see if it works¡¯ he thought. ¡°Grant me the power of telekinesis.¡± Suddenly a searing pain that felt like something was stabbing into his brain was felt. Logan instantly collapsed to the ground. He clenched his head screaming. ¡°AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!¡± After a few seconds he could no longer handle it and blacked out. ~~~ After a while he came to. He looked up at the sky like he did the first time he woke up in this field. Only this time the sky was not so bright. No longer feeling any pain, he stood up again. ¡°Did it even work?¡±Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. Logan spotted a small rock a couple yards away from him. This was the perfect thing to test his new telekinetic power. Thinking intensely about lifting up the rock he reached his hand out towards it. ¡°WHOOOSH!¡± The rock shot strait into the air. But that¡¯s not all that happened. Lagan clenched his head with his hand as the pain returned. It wasn¡¯t as intense as last time. The pain was only as bad as a bad headache. After a few minutes the pain subsided. ¡°My brain probably isn¡¯t used to this yet. I¡¯ll need to practice with it intermittently for a while before I can start to use it all the time.¡± Logan was both happy and sad. Happy he has super powers, sad he couldn¡¯t use them properly yet. Just as he was thinking up a training regimen for his powers he felt a cold breeze blow past him. Logan shivered and grabbed his arms trying to stay warm. He now realized that he was still wearing his pajamas, which were thin and covered too little. Logan didn¡¯t know what to do. He could get himself another power, but it hurt like hell last time he use one. He could see a forest in the distance and since that would offer some protection from the wind he decided to walk over to it. When he started walking into the forest Logan started felling a warm breeze coming from within. It wasn¡¯t hot like a fire. But it was warm enough that he noticed. He quicken his pace towards the warmth. As he got deeper into the forest it got warmer and warmer. After half an hour the warmth had become quite pleasant. He no longer shivered but he continued on. He wanted to know what was generating this heat. Five minutes later Logan stopped. He stood there starring at the massive thing that was generating this heat. Chapter 3: The Rock A large rock stood in a small clearing in the forest. The rock was oval and stood 10 feet high and 5 feet around. While it was predominantly a dark grey color, every few second it would pulse with a deep red color. Logan stared at it, almost mesmerized by it. ¡°CLANG¡± Logan was shook out of it by a noise coming from something by the rock. He couldn¡¯t believe he didn¡¯t notice it before but there was a tent 15 feet from the rock. This meant that there were people here. The noise came from the other side of the tent so no one had seen him, but Logan also couldn¡¯t see anyone. He decided to sneak around the other side of the tent using the forest trees as cover. Logan didn¡¯t want to reveal himself yet just in case they were hostile. When he finally walk around far enough he could see two men sitting in front of the tent and eating what looked like bread and water. Both men look simmer. They were average build with brown hair. The each had a sword, bow and quiver full of arrows by there side. ¡°libljag welvsada ngosbina¡± ¡°fofernopl kokerotu gobanees poertbomolas¡± The two men were speaking in a language that he didn¡¯t understand. Logan felt that if he couldn¡¯t understand the people of this world he wasn¡¯t going to get anywhere with them. So he decided to use his power once more. He knew he was probably going to pass out again so he ran a few minuet away from the camp and deeper into the forest. He sat by a tree and decided on his next power. ¡°Grant me the Power to befluentin every language on this planet¡± Logan closed his eyes and held his head waiting for the pain to come. But it never did.The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. What had happened instead was a stream of knowledge enter into his mind. Hundreds of languages came pouring in. It felt like a river of water rushing into his head without having to hold his breath. A few seconds later and it was over. Logan didn¡¯t understand why it didn¡¯t hurt like last time. After thinking about it he realized granting himself a new power never hurt. It was using said power that drained him. Now that he thought about it his telekinesis would probably use some kind of magical or mental stamina to use. And since he had never trained in either of these thing it would make sense for it to hurt after using so much for the first time. Since the download of the planets languages was probably using some kind of mental power he guessed he needed magical power for his telekinesis. Logan new what to do to fix this. But before he could do that he needed to do a few thing first. ¡°Grant me the power to give me any ability or skill of my choosing¡± Logan knew that the wording of the powers was probably important so he thought it best to get those out of the way right away. ¡°Grant me the power to use magical power at its peak efficiency¡± ¡°Grant me a magical power capacity one hundred time the best one on this planet¡± Logan thought that that should to do it. He reach his hand out like he did last time he tried to use his telekinesis. He was eyeing a branch on a tree. The branch swayed up and down just like he intended. He felt no pain from using his power now. He was right. He needed more magic for it to be used. Logan decided to be a bit more forceful. ¡°Snap¡± A snapping sound came from the tree as the branch was torn from the tree and started floating in front of Logan. He still felt no pain. In fact this took very little effort at all. Logan decided to go even farther. ¡°RIIIIP!!! A loud ripping sound came as the entire tree was torn from its roots and lifted 5 feet off the ground. Logan still felt no effort in achieving such a feet. He moved it up and down but still no effort. ¡°Now this is what I call OP¡± Now that he had his powers fixed he needed one more. ¡°Grand me the power to create any piece of clothes or equipment that I can imagine from magical power¡± Eminently after, Logan waved his hand and a black hoody with red flames appeared. He waved again and this time black pant appeared. He did again and black sneakers with small red flames on the side appeared. Logan quickly put them on. The reason he chose these clothes was he thought they looked bad ass. Now that Logan had clothes and could now speak the two men¡¯s language, he ran back to the camp site to listen in on their conversation. Chapter 4: A Magician ¡±Do you think we¡¯ll find anymore? We¡¯ve only got half a dozen rabbits and ten squirrel. That¡¯s not enough.¡± ¡°Ah. Who knows. This forest gets more and more barren each year. But we could still find a deer if we are lucky. Besides it may not be enough to feed everyone but it¡¯s enough to last us a little while longer.¡± Logan was in the bushes hiding from the two men. He continued to eavesdrop on their conversation in order to find out what kind of me they were. Apparently they were two hunters from a nearby town that would stay in the forest for days sometimes weeks at a time hunting for food. For whatever reason their village was short on food. There were actually hunters all over the forest doing the something they were. Seeing that these people seemed friendly and that there was something that he could offer them, Logan decided to reveal himself. But before he did that he spoke to himself in a quiet tone. ¡°Grant me the power to create any kind of food I can imagine using magical power¡± Now that he had something that he could offer them in exchange for information he decided to do a few more. ¡°Grant me the power of terrakinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of hydrokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of pyrokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of aerokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of electrokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of cryokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of photokinesis¡± ¡°Grant me the power of umbrakinesis¡±This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. Logan thought that this was a more than good enough arsenal to greet those strangers with. He could now control earth, water, fire, air, electricity, ice, light and darkness all with his mind. He got out from behind the bushes and trees, put his hands in his jacket pockets and started strutting towards the tent. Logan was feeling quite excited. He couldn¡¯t wait for his adventure to begin. ~~~~ ¡°HELLO!¡± He spoke perfectly in the two men¡¯s language. Logan was trying to play the character of a completely confidant OP MC. He was determined to be the first to say hello so before they even noticed he was there he yelled out to them. But he didn¡¯t expect what happened next. Both men jumped out of their chairs, grabbed their bows and aimed their arrows at him. Logan didn¡¯t expect this instant hostility. He raised his hands in the air to show he was unarmed. ¡°Whoa there. I come in peace¡± he said with the least bit of fear. Logan was well prepared to use his telekinesis if they should lose the arrows at him. The two men look at each other confused but still didn¡¯t lower their weapons. ¡°What do you want¡± the man on the right said. ¡°Nothing much. I was just walking through this forest and saw your guys. I thought it would be impolite not to introduce myself. My name Logan Williams; Wielder of the Elements¡± Logan said giving himself a grand magician¡¯s title. ¡°Is that some kind of magicians title? Are you a Mage?¡± the man asked. ¡°That I am¡± Logan said waving his hand in the air conjuring a fire ball. The two men stare wide eyed and slack jawed at the ball of fire floating above Logan¡¯s hand. A few second later he dismissed the fire ball. The two men returned to their senses. They both dropped their bow and arrows. Their hostility completely gone. They each gave a short bow. ¡°Our deepest apologies Grand Magician. With your attire we thought you might be some bandit or thief come to steal our catch. We are sorry if our actions have offended you.¡± The two men seem to completely change. One moment they were aggressive and the next it was gone like it never was there at all. Logan looked at his black clothes and thought that he probably did look like some kind of villain. ¡°Ha ha ha. These are my traveling clothes. They are sturdy and quite comfortable, which is why I wear them. But you are right. I probably looked like some shady character to you. Ha ha ha.¡± The two men were confused. They were not expecting such a high and mighty magician to be so kind. In all honesty they half expected to die right then and there. They had never seen a magician before but from what they heard magicians looked down on and mistreated any who couldn¡¯t use magic themselves or didn¡¯t have a high status. ¡®This is going to be fun¡¯ Logan thought. Chapter 5: The Burger ¡±Well why don¡¯t you introduce yourselves and if I may ask, what are you guys doing around here?¡± Logan asked. ¡°Yes, of course. My name is Dax and this is my brother Pax. We are hunting game for the village.¡± The man on the right spoke again. He seemed to be doing all the talking. Pax had yet to say a word to Logan. ¡°Oh? There is a village nearby. How interesting. I should pay them a visit.¡± Logan said pretending he didn¡¯t already know. ¡°How far away is it from here?¡± ¡°We would be honored if you would visit. It¡¯s only about an hour¡¯s walk form here. We were just about to pack up and head there. You are welcome to join us.¡± ¡°Yes. I¡¯d love to.¡± Logan needed information on the land, the people, and how magic is supposed to work in this world so he wasn¡¯t going to turn them down. Dax and Pax spent the next five of minutes quickly packing up their tent and gathering their supplies. Logan was playing a magnanimous mage so he offered to help but was told that they could handle it. Everything was loaded into two big packs and loaded behind each of the brother¡¯s backs. Logan carried nothing. With everything ready the group was on their way. Pax and Dax didn¡¯t talk much Logan had tried to start up some small talk but Dax would give a quick answer and shut down the conversation. From what he could get out of them he learned that the village population was only 53 people. They had no mages, but did have a small-time alchemist. He also learned that almost the entire yield of crops that the village had grown had been eaten by wild boars. These animals had eaten almost everything in one night and then disappeared. The food supply shipment they had bought from the city had been stolen by bandits some time ago and now the village had started to run low on food. They had tried trading with some of the neighboring villages, but they had had the same problem with both the boars and bandits and couldn¡¯t spare any. They tried hiring some men to hunt down the thieves but the village had hardly any money and was way too far from the city for anyone to care. The town had been rationing and hunting for food in the forest. They had wanted to hunt and eat some of the wild boars but they couldn¡¯t be found. They had been forced to hunt rabbits and squirrels. Deer had been known to graze in and around the forest but they hadn¡¯t seen any recently. The forest hadn¡¯t yielded much but it was better than nothing. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. Listening to Dax talk about food had made Logan hungry. Seeing as this was the perfect time to show off, he waved his hand and a small cloth napkin appeared in his hand. Inside it was a large burger. Logan took one whiff of it and his mouth started salivating. Logan had tried to imagine the best burger he had ever eaten and re-create it here. What had surprise him though, was that the burger was still warm. When he could wait no longer he finally took a huge bite. ''So good'' The burger was juicy and warm like it had just been cooked. It was just how he had imagined it should be. Pax and Dax now realized that Logan was basically eating a feast before their eyes. Due to the rationing in there village they hadn¡¯t eaten there fill for some time. They also didn''t understand where he had gotten the food from. When they first saw him he wasn''t carrying anything with him. But now he was eating a large piece of food wrapped in a cloth napkin. Where had he pulled it out of? ¡°What is that?¡± While Dax was primarily interested in where the food had come from, it was Pax who was more interested in what the food actually was. It looked good sure, but it was the smell that compelled Pax to say his first words to Logan. ¡°This?¡± Logan held up his hand with the food in it. ¡°This is a burger. Don¡¯t tell me you¡¯ve never had a burger before.¡± Both brothers shook their head simultaneously. ¡°Well we can¡¯t have that. Everyone in the world has to have at least one burger before they die.¡± Logan wrapped up his burger and put it in his jacket pocket. He then waved his hand and a burger appeared in each hand. He handed one to each brother then went back to eating his own. Dax was awestruck that the mage could make food appear with a wave of his hand. Pax however quickly got over it when he held the burger in his hand. He immediately dove in for his first big bite. Pax was someone who had come from a poor village where the food he was given was few and hardly had any kind of spices. So when got to have a large portion of the tastiest food he had ever had, Pax felt like he had died and gone to heaven. Dax too started eating a few seconds after Pax. They all set out again. For ten minutes no words were spoken. They all just kept moving and ate there food in peace. After they were all finished Logan asked if they liked it. ¡°Are you kidding? That was the best ever!¡± ¡°I¡¯m glad you liked it. When we get to your village I¡¯ll show you even better food. Pax seemed to have a personality change now that he¡¯d tried the food. He was now talking more than Dax. He asked about all kinds of food and what they were made of. Logan did his best to answer. He was no chef but he knew the basics. The trip ended up taking an hour and a half, but at the end of it they finally arrived at the village. Chapter 6: The Village ¡°This is our village. We¡¯ll take you to see the Elder. He¡¯s sort of the unofficial leader around here. That and he is the oldest one here.¡± Dax explained The village wasn¡¯t anything special to look at. But to Logan who had just arrived here from another world found it all quite interesting. It was a collection of a few dozen houses scattered across a large area. The houses were all basically log cabins. They were small with the exception of the one in the center of the village, which was about twice as big. Logan thought it was probably the village elder/leader¡¯s house. As they got closer they came across a few villagers coming and going. Adults were working in their little gardens and children playing in the fields in the distance. They waved at Dax and Pax welcoming them home and the brothers waved back. It seemed to be a friendly and happy village until they saw Logan. The moment they realized that Logan wasn¡¯t a resident here they kept their distance and only sent intense stars at him. Logan didn¡¯t know what he did. Maybe they were skittish to outsiders? After a few minutes taking the intense looks of the villagers Logan realized what was going on. He was still wearing what Pax and Dax had considered bandit attire. Logan quickly removed his hood and unzipped his jacket. He placed a warm smile on his face to greet the stares of the people. He knew he wasn¡¯t going to convince them right away so he continued to follow the brothers and after a few minutes they arrived. **Knock Knock** "Hey old man we got company¡± Dax knocked on the largest house like Logan suspected. After a few moments a man in his fifties opened the door. ¡°Dax how many times have told you not to call me tha¡¡± Just then he noticed Logan and froze mid-sentence. ¡°Who have you brought with you Dax?¡± ¡°This is Grand Magician Logan Willams, Wielder of the Elements. We met him in the woods by the heat stone and invited him here.¡± Logan now new what the large pulsing rock in the forest was. He didn¡¯t want to ask what the pulsing red rock was before for fear they would realize that he didn¡¯t belong there. At Dax¡¯s word he grew an expression of surprise and confusion. He scanned Logan up and down noticing his clothes. He then looked at Dax again with an even more confused expression. While Logan had an honest face, his attire still made him look like a bandit.Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. ¡°I assure you; he is who he says he is. Sir Williams has demonstrated his powers of chantless magic as well as his unique ability to conjure food out of thin air¡± Dax quickly spoke up realizing what the old man was thinking. When he had first seen Logan he had thought the same thing. The old man¡¯s expression change again to a thrilling surprise. Not only was this man a Grand Magician, he could also create food. Food had become scarce and was now a high-valued commodity. Even the neighboring villages were all short on food. The old man decided that he must befriend this mage at all costs. ¡°Ah. Sir Logan welcome to our humble little village. My name is Jason, the village elder. My wife has just made some tea. It would be my honor if you would join me.¡± Jason¡¯s change in behavior was all in Logan¡¯s plan. As soon as they discovered that he could make food they would hold him in the highest regard. It might have meant even more to them than his mage title. ¡°Just Logan is fine and I would love to join you for tea.¡± Jason led Logan into his home and sat him down in at the table. Dax and Pax did not come with them. They still had to deal with the catch they got from hunting in the forest. Jason¡¯s house was bigger than all the other houses Logan saw but was still small. It was only about 20 feet by 15 feet. Jason pored a cup of tea in a mug for both him and Logan. Logan wasn¡¯t a tea person but he figured it was rude to turn him down and it was a good icebreaker for greeting new people. Both men sat down and drank a sip of tea. While Jason liked this brew; Logan thought it needed to be sweeter. Realizing the perfect excuse to use his powers again Logan waved his hand and 15 vanilla cookies appeared atop a napkin on the table. He ignored Jason¡¯s stunned look and started eating some cookies. "Help yourself. It¡¯s always niceto have snacks with your drink." Jason thought it was best to accept Logan¡¯s offer and proceeded to eat some too. The cookies were good and went well with the tea. Jason thought it was time to now figure out why such a prestigious figure would be at a backwater place like this. "So what brings you way out here?" Logan was expecting this question and had prepared a whole backstory for just this scenario. "Well it¡¯s a long story but the short version is that I was doing some magical experiments back home. Something must have gone wrong and somehow I was transported to this land. I don''t know what land this is or how to get back. Dax and Pax were the first people I met along the way. I was hoping you could tell me about the area in hopes I might find my way back." Jason leapt at the chance to put a mage in his debt. "I see. Well our village is in the domain of the kingdom of Tris which is subservient to the Phoenix Empire. Unfortunately I don''t know anything of the neighboring empires. We are located on the far eastern side of the human continent. We are in the middle of nowhere so we don''t get that much information about the world." Logan''s brows raised at the words ''human continent''. This means that there are more than humans in this world. "I see. Unfortunately these names mean nothing to me. Do you perhaps have a map I can look at?" "Well we have a map but its only of the local area and so wouldn''t be of use to you." "I see. Well maybe you could direct me to the nearest city or town. I can probably learn more there than here." "Ah. Yes. That won¡¯t be a problem. I should also tell you that wild animals, some magical beasts and bandits have been sighted on the road. Though with your prowess they shouldn¡¯t be a problem.¡± ¡°Thank you. And perhaps I could help you with you food problem as compensation.¡±
