《Spirit Of The Forest (Dropped)》 Prologue: A Dungeon Lecture [New Prologue] "Now then class quiet down", a teacher said while walking to the podium in front of the classroom The chatter continued their chatter "I said now then class quiet down", the teacher repeated again this time with more volume. The talking continued, but this time someone''s bird summon flew into a wall, then promptly exploded into feathers. "Urgh... Why do I have to give a lecture to these brats", muttered the teacher as he picked a couple bird feathers out of his hair. "Amr As Vacala", he chanted. Little blue particles gathered around the man''s throat and then were expelled when he yelled. "NOW THEN CLASS FUCKING QUIET DOWN OR YOU''LL BE USED AS TARGET PRACTICE LATER" The room went completely silent as everyone turned towards the man standing at the front. "Good, now that you''re all quiet I''ll introduce myself. My name is Zain Arclight and I will be your teacher for this school term",Zain continued his speech,"We will be recapping on basic dungeon today then we will go into more detail on a dungeon I have chosen." "Now then, who can tell me what a dungeon is?" A female student raised her hand and Zain pointed at her indicating that she could speak. "Well sir, a dungeon is a high concentration of mana that is emitted by a mana core conductor." "Correct, now then who can explain what a mana core conductor is?" Another student raised their hand, Zain pointed again. "A mana core conductor or more commonly known as a dungeon core is a crystal that gains the ability to create monsters and form treasures.",the student said with a smug look on his face as if he had answered the impossible. "That is correct, but can you tell me how these monsters and treasures are created?",Zain questioned in a irritated fashion. He hated those kind of people that act smart, but only a bit of knowledge to back it up. "Well, erm.. that.. uh..",the boy stuttered, the smug smile all but gone.Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. "Thought so",Zain said then started saying. "A dungeon forms monsters and treasures by condensing a large amount of mana into a object or animal. A rusty forgotten dagger it finds can become a sharp tool used to slay dragons, while monsters are made from surrounding wildlife being stuffed with mana until they form a mana core." A student raised his hand wanting to ask a question. "Yes? What is your question" "Sir, if dungeons can create these things why can''t we?" "Good question, this is however difficult to answer, since our royal mages have tried infusing mana into a animal, but the result was a bloody explosion. As for the objects infusion... while we can infused mana into weapons and it does make the weapon better. Our weapons are much more brittle thus costing much more to produce." Zain continued on after answering because the question cut into his lecturing time. "Next is a monster horde, which is a horde of monsters formed by the dungeons. We don''t know why dungeons do this, but have suspicions that it has something to do with thinning the herd and separating the weak from the strong. Although the suspicion doesn''t have much substance since most people just run if they spot a monster horde." He then asked the class,"what is the one dungeon that has more monster horde''s than others?" The same female student from the beginning of class answered. "The Mother''s Tree Dungeon?" Zain smiled because he was guaranteed at least one person would be able to pass the exams. "That is correct, the Mother''s Tree Dungeon is particular in the point that no one has been able to clear it other than the old hero and that monster hordes are a lot more frequent in the dungeon." Zain then clapped his hands together and said. "Alright we are almost out of time so I will allow a couple more questions." Half the class raised their hands. Zain scanned the room and picked a boy who was wearing glasses. "What is the frequency rate of the Mother''s Tree monster hordes compared to other dungeons?" Zain thought about the question for a moment before replying. "Well the Mother''s Tree dungeon has a frequency rate of two to three monster hordes per month sometimes more. While other dungeons seems to have a monster horde once per year." The boy started pondering the answer while Zain scanned the classroom again to pick another hand. He decided to pick the girl who he had pegged with passing the exams. She said a very surprising question. "Are there spirits in the Mother''s Tree dungeon? I heard rumors about it" Zain had to think about this question for a couple seconds before saying. "If you are talking spirits as in ghouls and lost souls, then no there are no spirits in the Mother''s Tree dungeon since the area is mostly just wildlife and trees. But if you are talking about a spirit as in ethereal body that is still in this plane to protect someone then... yes I think there is a possibility. Not a very high possibility, but still a possibil..." *RINNNNNNNNNNNNG* The bell shook Zain out of whatever strange thoughts he was having. He waved his hand dismissing the class. As the students started filing out Zain started thinking about that question and a time during his younger days. Chapter 1: Strolling(Chased) Through The Forest [SEVERELY EDITED] A small boy was dashing through the thick foliage while dodging the occasional hungry plant. He kept looking over his shoulder as if something was chasing him. *ROOOOOOOOOOOOAR* "Come on! I didn''t even want to do this today!." yelled the small green haired boy as he jumped over the bumps and roots along the path. *ROOOOOOOOOOOOAR* As the boy kept running until he reached a large clearing , the thing that was chasing him could be seen. It was a 40-foot long large reptilian creature with folded wings, a tail, and dark blue scales. In other words a dragon. *ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAR* The boy continued his high speed run while the dragon lopped after him. After 15 more minutes of sprinting the boy stopped. He looked behind himself to check if there were any large scaly objects hurtling its way through the dense growth of trees. Did I lose him? Then a shadow appeared below the boy. He looked up. "YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!", the boy screamed in despair while the black shadow grew bigger .The gigantic dragon was hurtling down from above. It was flapping its wings as if trying to fly. *THUMP**ROOOOOOOAR* The dragon landed and roared again then looked around confused as if wondering where its toy went. "Down here you idiotic lizard",a muffled voice could be heard from what seemed to be the dragon¡¯s right foot. But feet can¡¯t talk right? *Roar?* The dragon looked down at where its feet were, then after a moment of pondering tentatively raised his left foot. Nope, no boy under there. It set down the foot then thought for a moment. A certain cracking sound could be heard. It then lifted its other foot. Underneath was a battered and dirty, but still mostly intact child. Just a slightly bruised up body and a arm that shouldn¡¯t have looked like a half crushed pretzel. The boy¡¯s green eyes glared at the dragon giving a accusatory look. *Roar!!!* With a gleeful look the dragon opened it mouth and... started licking the boy like a dog. "Gah!!!", screamed the child while trying to sit back up with his one intact arm only to be knocked over again by a certain someone¡¯s tongue. "I know your saliva has healing properties and increases resistances to elements and such, but it stinks like hell and takes so long to get it out of my hair you know!", the boy said while feeling his arm untwist from its pretzel like shape and back into what a perfectly normal arm is suppose to look like. The dragon stopped licking the boy and whimpered gave him the pup-- I mean dragon-eyed look which somehow looked somewhat cuddly and pitiful. The boy stood up and tried to wipe off at least some of the dragon saliva. No luck. He sighed a looked back at the dragon who was knocking 6 perfectly healthy trees over with its long, wagging tail. "Alright I am done with babysitting you let''s go back to where mom is. Also stop looking at me like that. It''s weird to see a 40 foot long beast try to look cute while destroying a forest." The boy started sprinting again, this time in the direction where he and the dragon came from. After about 30 minutes of high speed running the boy stopped in front of a gigantic tree with leaves reflecting the sunlight as it danced in the breeze. Under the tree sat a woman with green hair and eyes just like the boy''s own except her hair was sparkling as like the leaves on the tree behind her. She also had a amused smile playing across her face.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. "Evan my child are you done playing around?", She said with a voice that sounded as gentle as grass in a meadow. Wait scratch that, the meadow¡¯s in the area had large dragon footprints all over. From chasing down a certain young boy. Evan looked at his mother with a irritated look still wet and sticky from the dragon saliva. "You made me babysit a dragon pup. What is your definition of playing around?", Evan said angrily. I did not plan on being chased down by a overgrown lizard today he thought as he remembered the 4 hours of constant running. "My dear child, my mana core guardian had a kid so why wouldn''t you play together?", she replied. "You MADE me babysit a 40 FOOT LONG DRAGON! I CAN''T PLAY WITH A LIZARD THAT''S 10 TIMES MY HEIGHT! Also I am not a child Mother, you just like me in this form.". Evan said ever more exasperated with his mother¡¯s antics. Evan''s mother shook her head still with a amused smile on her face. "No, no, no Evan it''s not that I like you in that form, its because you gather mana the best in that form.", She lectured almost as if she had said those words a thousand times. She had said those words over a thousand times at least. "So you''re saying that you don''t enjoy the fact that I''m in the form of a little boy?",Evan said while looking her dead in the eye. Evan''s mother turned around to look behind her at the giant tree and muttered in a near inaudible tone. "Maybe just a little" "Mother! You have to at least act like a mana core with near unrivalled strength! Argh...,but anyways can you take this thing off my hands?",Evan said while pointing his thumb at the dragon. It was still panting from running from the ambush site back to the Mother Tree. "Yes, yes I''ll call Elise down just give it a moment" *ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR* A roar even louder than the 40 foot dragon was heard and then a large 200 foot dragon swooped down from the top of the Mother Tree and landed perfectly curled around the Mother Tree. "You called my lady?", Elise asked through telepathy. ¡°Elise¡±,Evan¡¯s mother said with a stern voice,¡±I told you to call me Mirana, I am a mana core and your are my guardian it is only natural that we are equal partners.¡± ¡°Yes, Lady Mirana¡± ¡°Mother!¡±,Evan said as if impatient to get a dragon off his hands. Which he was of course. "Yes, yes so sorry about that dear. Elise my son here seems to be unable to play with your child I am truly sorry about that, but fear not I will find something else for him to play with" She said while striking a pose which made Evan turn his head away in embarrassment. Ever since the hero came by with that book she''s been imitating things from it. I''m starting to wonder who the real child is. "Come here child", Elise ¡°said¡± while indicating that it should come over. The baby dragon obediently walked towards his mother. After, he was close enough Elise picked him up by the scruff of the neck using her jaws and uncoiled herself from the Mother Tree launching herself into the air. With baby dragon in tow she flew up to the the top of the Mother Tree and vanished behind the leaves. "Now then let''s get you cleaned off my little angel",Evan¡¯s mother said with a twinkle in her eye. "Mother I can clean myself up thank you very much" "You don''t want your own mother to help you clean up?¡± She gave Evan the eyes of a doting parent, which was super effective as Evan flinched before sighed again in defeat. "Alright mother you can help me wash up" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now then we would go into greater detail about what occurred during this time, but I set this to no vivid sexual content(Yes Bathing is VERY sexual) so to bad for you . Maybe someday who knows. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a half hour of mortifying ¡°cleaning¡± Evan was finally back to normal. His cute cherubic face along with his short stature and green hair/eyes that could charm any female was all back in proper order. "Now then mother we need to..." Evan was cut off by a serious look from his mother as she spoke in a serious tone "A monster horde is forming" "What! Something sneaked in again?",Evan exclaimed with shock. "Go take care of it honey the horde is forming toward the west, remember we can''t let to many people die." "Alright I''m going now!" Evan started sprinting off to the west while a bow materialized on his back along with a long green cloak that covered the bow. Evan pulled the hood over his face and it seemed to shimmer a bit before matching the background of the forest and blending in perfectly with its surroundings. Chapter 2: Monster Horde (Severely Edited) Evan dashed through the forest listening for any signs of the monster horde. With the Warmth Of Nature Cloak that would make him blend in with his surroundings as long as he was surrounded by nature. Continuing through the forest Evan kept going on his search for the monster horde. What are monster hordes? See, the human textbook definition would be a large horde of monsters formed by dungeons, but that isn''t actually the real reason why monster hordes are formed. Rather, a monster horde is caused by a strong foreign monster that isn''t bound to a dungeon. They scare off any monster that is weaker than themselves. This happens maybe once or twice a month depending on how many manage to sneak in, but recently their numbers have been on the rise. Unbound monsters, as they are called, are usually formed from places that don''t have a mana core but have a decent amount of mana concentrated at one point. Now because of an event that is occurring within the earth, mana is spreading and dungeons are no longer the only ones which form monsters frequently. Even Evan with his intellect could not fathom how this mana spread actually occurred, or even the catalyst that started it. Although, he suspected that the Human-Demon War may have played a part: The area where the mana started spreading was the battleground for the turning point of the war where the humans won through a counterattack against the demons. The main suspicion was the fact that the humans were losing the battle at the start, but three days later mysteriously made a comeback. The Dungeons however, are far more interested in researching why unbound monsters are attracted to their lands, more so than what caused the spread. They all arrived at the same conclusion. Unbound monsters look for higher concentrations of mana to further their own evolution and since dungeons have the densest amount of mana, unbound monsters flock to them. This was even worse for the Mother¡¯s Tree dungeon because there wasn¡¯t just one or two open places for monsters to enter, such as cave dungeons. Rather, the Mother Tree dungeon had tons of openings along the sides of its domain. Now, you may be wondering how Evan would actually find the monster horde with only a general idea of its direction. Even with his speed, the forest that was the size of a sixteenth of a kingdom which was about 8,500 square miles, and it would take a while to comb through. Actually it was quite simple, Evan just followed the screams of pain, the pleas for mercy, and the occasional bright, red emergency flare being shot into the sky. Dammit that flare was near the beginner zone! Evan accelerated hoping to gods that he could make it before any more damage was done. After another 5 minutes of running through the dense foliage he reached the point of carnage. Or rather would be carnage if Evan could actually see anything, apart from a giant carpet of panicking horned rabbits. Those emergency flares are quite something. I am always amazed that it stays visible long enough for me to follow it all the way here. "Run! Monster Horde!!!", a male adventurer yelled as he continued running down the path away from the fluffy horde. He was removing any gear that could weigh him down with a terrified face, as if looking scared might save him from the oncoming onslaught. "Mommy!", screamed another adventurer, this one was rather buff, had the look of someone who could kill someone without hesitation. That was until he started pissing his pants while running for his life.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Group up and try to keep them off our backs!", ordered a female adventurer who had an aura that exhibited the qualities of a leader. ¡°Why should we listen to a woman like you?!¡±, mocked one of the men even in a situation of where death was just around the corner. Evan¡¯s face was twitching as if not trying to laugh. Even in this kind of predicament, humans still can¡¯t cooperate with each other. I¡¯ll never understand this race. Evan shook his head while still grinning and started heading towards the back of the horde. Whatever broke in must have been in the back routing all of the terrified critters. Once the monster was in sight Evan could easily dispatch it. And there it was, a large wolf with blood red fur and black stripes all over it. Oh! It has three heads! That¡¯s new, but... Evan sighed with disappointment in his voice. "And here I thought it was something dangerous. Just an overgrown mutt." See, the wolf cerberus thing was a danger to any newbie or even semi-experienced adventurer. But Evan could take a stomp from a dragon and only come out with a broken arm, so a wolf even as large as four humans stacked of one another would pale in comparison. Evan reached under his cloak and unslung a sleek black colored bow that was engraved with runes from top to bottom off his back in one fluid motion while pulling back the string. An arrow with even more tiny runes etched on its shaft magically materialized notched and ready to fire. "Fase Lamr Icfa", Evan chanted as green mana started to form in thin air and then converge on the bow. A bright green light lit up Evan¡¯s face and gave him a holy look like a god with green light shrouding his small figure. Evan felt the green mana aura being sucked into the arrow and as the shroud vanished he sensed that the arrow was filled to the brim with mana. "Return to the earth from where you once came", Evan said as if he had said the words many times before. He let loose the arrow, it flew in a small arc and landed perfectly between the eyes of the feasting wolf. The energy from the arrow vanished then the arrow fell to the ground, hitting the earth with a thud before dissolving into nothingness. Half a second passed. Nothing happened as the wolf continued his feast. It had barely felt the arrow. A second passed. The wolf froze. Then began to struggle for the brief moment it could. Then two seconds passed. The wolf''s form was quickly sucked in by a green energy that was flowing from every part of its body. Finally after the third second had passed. There was nothing left of the beast except for a single green pearl like object. Evan lowered his bow as he walked over to where the beast once stood and picked up the pearl before sliding it into a pouch on his belt. Then he flicked his wrist and the bow slowly vanished from his grip. And now all I need to do is to reroute the bunnies. Since the threat was gone the rabbits would naturally calm down as well. Evan looked behind him at the area where the bunnies had their stampede. The bunnies had stopped their movements. Evan then started speaking in a tongue different from the language of magic. It was a language that no sentient conquerer of the continent would be able to understand. It was the voice of the earth. "Visal loma tamau lou isecas¡± The rabbits all perked up their ears as if they were listening to the words attentively. They gradually lowered them as they started hopping off at quick speeds into the surrounding trees.. In just over a minute all that remained of the horde''s presence were the impaled bodies of a couple humans, well-trodden ground, and a few tufts of bunny fur. And where were the other humans who were running from the horde a couple minutes ago? Long gone, humans run fast when they have to. Well I''m done here. Time to head back and report to mother. Evan turned around and walked off back into the trees, leaving no trace that he had been there in the first place. Chapter 3: Adventurers and Mothers Adventurer¡¯s POV: "Oi! "C-Ranked" Craig how did it feel to run from wittle bunnies?", shouted a man, he had two beer mugs swigging in his hands as he laughed rambunctiously. Both beer mugs were filled to the brim with drink. "Shut it!", Craig yelled back, he was also surrounded by several empty tankards of beer. He usually looked rather scary with a buff body that had huge muscles, but now he was just a drunk mess. "Oh yes the great and heroic Craig",mocked another drunk individual,"pissing his pants while screaming for his mommy" Be damned to them all. They don''t understand what it feels like to see a huge wave of horned rabbits. No warrior could stop that. Craig looked bitterly back at his adventurers card. It was a sleek card with a blue edged border. He continued staring at the card looking at the writing on it.

The thing in his hands was a monster card sold by the Adventurers Guild. See, the guild thought that by quantifying the stats it could better prepare newbies. 10 in every stat was normal for a normal citizen while adventurers had it better depending on how experienced they were. ¡°All that work to get to rank C and where does it get me? Nowhere! Absolutely nowhere!¡±,Craig muttered while chugging down another mug filled with beer almost speaking nonsense at this point. He was quite depressed because of the earlier rabbit horde. ¡°Just my luck! The first time I head into the Mother¡¯s Tree a monster horde. Even better! I made a complete fool of myself out of fear. I don¡¯t deserve this C rank. Why did I even think I could reach S rank! Haha!¡± Craig had worked almost five years to reach this point. Going from collecting herbs in F rank to killing kobolds to get to rank C. He had slowly climbed the ladder of the Guilds from F To D To C. He was finally more confident in himself, but it all went wrong when the rabbit horde attacked. ¡°Maybe I should give up? Get settled down before I get to old?¡± While Craig was contemplating this he heard a female voice say. ¡°Don¡¯t ever give up! You still have so much to live for!¡± He looked around bewildered, he kept swiveling his head looking for the speaker. There were no other females near him. Only the receptionist, but it couldn¡¯t have been her. I must have had to much to drink. But then again that voice was right. I shouldn¡¯t give up. I can¡¯t give up only after a single setback. I have to keep at it! Evan¡¯s POV Evan continued his running until he finally arrived back at the Mother¡¯s Tree. He then slowed as he walked towards his mother who was sitting with her back leaning against the tree. ¡°You got rid of the problem dear?¡±,she asked with a smile on her face. ¡°Yes, the beast has been dispatched mother¡± ¡°Awww, I told you not to call me mother. Call me mommy. You¡¯re acting way to mature¡±,she cooed with a little pout on her face. ¡°One of us has to be mature here mother. And I¡¯m not seeing the maturity in you at all.¡± Evan sighed then lifted the hood off his head then felt the cloak¡¯s weight slowly vanish from his back. Then he reached into his belt pouch and took the green pearl-like object out. Then tossed the pellet towards his mother. She caught the pellet then promptly threw it into her mouth. After swallowing the pellet like ever other pellet that Evan would being back from monster hordes. She raised her hands in the air and stretched while standing up. ¡°Thank you so much dear! Come here and give your mommy a hug.¡± ¡°No mother. I will not give you a hug. We need to first talk about your ¡°brilliant¡± idea of me babysitting a dragon.¡±,Evan said with a displeased look on his childish face. Evan¡¯s mother looked a bit disappointed, but then sighed while lowering her arms again. ¡°You remember when you said that you wanted playmate?¡±,she asked. ¡°You mean when I asked eighty two years ago? When I was just born?¡±,Evan said sarcastically. ¡°Well I had to make do ok!¡±,She replied almost as if that was a satisfactory answer to Evan¡¯s question. Evan groaned and decided to give up. Any more and she might cry. Then I have to deal with the gathering of every strong monster at the tree. ¡°Alright let''s just drop this subject¡± Evan¡¯s mother didn¡¯t reply as if distracted by something. ¡°Mother?¡± She seemed to snap out of it after a couple more seconds. ¡°Oh! Sorry dear I was listening to someone who was near the entrance of the dungeon. He seemed depressed from the earlier monster horde so I decided to encourage him.¡± Evan¡¯s eye started twitching. ¡°Mother! I told you to stop trying to talk with the adventurers! Remember the last time you talked extensively with someone. You ended up imitating some book that he brought!¡± And you still are imitating it. ¡°But the hero was such a dear¡ dear.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t care if he was a dear or not, but why did you talk to that one particular adventurer?¡±,Evan asked since as ditzy as his mother could be she should have had a reason. ¡°Lets just call it motherly instincts¡±,she replied with a gentle smile on her face. Something about that man made me want to encourage him. Scratch whatever I thought earlier. My mother is just a complete and utter ditz. Chapter 4: Princess Task Princess¡¯ POV ¡°Princess. Your Father wishes to speak with you.¡±,a maid said while walking into a room that looked way too expensive to be practical. From the expensive uncomfortable carpets. To the best that could fit six to ten people. . The maid walked over to the bed and pulled back the giant covers to reveal a teenaged girl about seventeen with fiery red hair, albeit disheveled. The princess looked up with bleary black eyes at the maid, clearly dissatisfied that she was being woken at this hour. The maid stared back, waiting for the princess to finish with her little fit. The princess sighed and stood up indicating that the maid could proceed with dressing her in one of those impractical dresses. While she stood there being stuck into a horrid dress she thought to herself. I still have no idea why I have to wear this to meet father. This dress isn¡¯t good for anything, but to obstruct my movements. What if a assassin broke in? I can¡¯t defend myself with a frilly dress. The maid had finally completed her job. Now the princess was in a elegant light blue dress with light waves along the bottom part, her red hair contrasted greatly with the dress. ¡°Now princess if you would follow me¡±, the maid said with a slight bow of her head. ¡°Yes, yes lead on Rose¡±,said the princess while grumbling to herself,¡±not like I don¡¯t know a place I have lived in for over seventeen years.¡± The princess followed the maid out of the room and into a ornate hallway with way too many expensive items just sitting on the walls. Painting, painting, expensive vase, pointless picture, family crest created from pure gems. Why do even need this stuff? To keep all the maids busy? To catch the thieves that exist in our imaginations? Princess and maid continued down the hall until they reached a large ornately carved door. The maid knocks on the door while saying. ¡°Your majesty, Princess Tana is here to see you.¡± A aged voice could be heard through the door. ¡°Yes, tell her she can come in.¡± The maid pushed open the door and then directed Princess Tana into the room before shutting it again. Tana walked towards the king and then bowed. ¡°You called father?¡± The king was a man who looked about fifty and had a tired expression on his face as if he had just gone through several weeks worth of paperwork. But deep in his eyes you could see a small flame as if there still was a little adventure in him. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. ¡°Yes, Tana I heard you reached level 100 two days ago?¡± Tana nodded. ¡°Level 100 at seventeen. Truly talented my daughter.¡± Tana nodded again before saying. ¡°Father you didn¡¯t just call me here to congratulate me on this point right?¡± ¡°Ha! Of course not. You remember how every king or queen that took over the mantle of the royal family had some sort of accomplishment before ascending?¡± ¡°Yes I know, but what does that have to do with me currently. If I may say father other than your slightly tired complexion, don¡¯t look like you''re gonna drop dead any time soon, so I believe that it isn¡¯t urgent for me to do such a task yet.¡± ¡°Well¡±,the king said while spreading his arms wide as if to explain,¡±I thought we might as well get it out of the way.¡± ¡°So what¡¯s the assignment then?¡±,Tana asked with a bit of excitement in her voice. I can actually do something worthwhile with my training. ¡°Now, now Tana don¡¯t get ahead of yourself let me see your stats.¡± Tana pulled a necklace with a bright colored stone from under her dress and walked over to the throne handing it to her father. See, this stone was called a status stone something like a adventurer''s card, but showed more details. What came up was.

¡°Quite the impressive numbers don¡¯t you think?¡±,the king said. ¡°If you say so¡± The king handed back the status stone before taking a couple minutes to ponder. A lightbulb seemed to go off in his head as he clapped his hands together. ¡°I know! We can have you clear the Mother¡¯s Tree dungeon! That should be a sufficient achievement to prove your strength.¡± Tana looked surprised at this idea and then asked. ¡°The Mother¡¯s Tree dungeon? You mean the one that only the HERO could clear?¡± ¡°Of course it''s that dungeon. It would be quite good for the future queen having the ability on par with the hero.¡± ¡°And I¡¯m suppose to clear this dungeon alone?¡±,Tana asked nervously since although talented that dungeon was no joke. ¡°Heavens no. You think I would throw you in there without at least some help? No, no that won¡¯t do. Lets see. Hmmmm. Let''s have a squad of royal guards go along. That should be sufficient for you to get reach the end.¡± Tana continued hesitating about this because of one specific reason. The king noticed this hesitation before asking. ¡°Something else worrying you?¡± Tana nodded again then said. ¡°What about the monster hordes that is so frequent at the Mother¡¯s Tree?¡± The king laughed a hearty laugh and then said. ¡°I just got a report from the guild master at the Mother¡¯s Tree that a monster horde just occurred, so the chance of another forming is low. Don¡¯t worry too much about that. You¡¯re blessed by the Flame Goddess. With this blessing alone you should be able to clear most of the dungeon with ease.¡± Tana thought about these facts a little more before nodding her head. The king smiled then waved at her indicating she was dismissed. As she walked back towards the ornate door her father spoke again. ¡°You¡¯ll do just fine. Believe in the Kirvo blood running in your veins.¡± Tana opened the door to see the maid standing outside as if waiting for her. Then right before closing it she replied ¡°I will father. I will¡± Tana then shut the door. Turning towards the maid she said. ¡°I need to prepare for a dive on the Mother¡¯s Tree. Inform the others in the palace to get my equipment ready. His royal highness should be directing the royal guards soon. We will set out in a week. The maid bowed and then quickly walked away to inform the others in the palace. Tana then looked out the window, her hair catching in the morning sunlight causing it to look like a flame was dancing along the strands. Mother¡¯s Tree. I will conquer you! Chapter 5: Second Horde And Weakness Evan¡¯s POV ¡°Evan dear, wake up! You¡¯ve been meditating for two weeks already!¡±,said Mirana cheerfully as she patted the laid back figure of Evan on his cheeks. Evan opened his eyes slowly while breathing out green mana. He had just finished absorbing more mana from the Mother¡¯s Tree. Because Evan was technically spawned from the Mother¡¯s Tree the more mana he absorbed the more power he had, although even without the mana he had absorbed the past two weeks his power was already on par with a high leveled monster near the Mother¡¯s Tree. He stood up and then stumbled surprising his mother as she hurriedly caught him before he went head first off the tree. Argh! Why does my head hurt? Did I take in too much mana? See, even Evan who was directly birthed by the Mother¡¯s Tree could not absorb to much mana without overdrawing on his body. His mother looked at him with concern and asked. ¡°You ok there dear? You seem to be a bit shaky¡± ¡°I¡¯m fine mother, most likely taxed my body by meditating for two weeks straight. After a bit of processing I should be fine.¡± Mirana smiled again although still worried. ¡°Since you have mana to burn do you want to take out another monster that snuck in?¡± Evan looked at her with disbelief, head still hurting. ¡°I¡¯ve only been meditating for two weeks and the first you tell me when I come out of meditation is that something sneaked in again?¡± ¡°Yes, that is exactly what is happening deary. Don¡¯t worry about where its located I found it since the thing managed to sneak into the middle layer.¡± The dungeon had four layers beginning, middle, deep, grand. Each layer had harder and harder monsters to fight while the grand layer was the Mother¡¯s Tree. A monster being able to sneak into the middle layer of the forest was impressive since it managed to avoid making the monsters in the beginning layer panic. ¡°Did it set off a monster horde?¡±,Evan said while standing up, the headache was temporarily suppressed as he emitted mana. ¡°Yes the thing managed to set off the Kodom Mushrooms.¡± Evan thought for a moment. The Kodom Mushrooms were rather weak by middle layer standards since all they could do was charge and spread a thin layer of spores, but a horde was another story since the spores could cause harmful effects once enough was stacked up. ¡°Where is the exact position of the monster?¡± His cloak and bow materialized while he asked. ¡°Just due north about 10 miles from the Lizard Elder Cave.¡± ¡°Thanks mother, I¡¯ll be right back.¡± Evan started to run towards the north while waving goodbye. After about seven minutes of just running with another minute of avoiding the random traps his mother set then forgot about Evan reached the spot. He heard sounds of fighting so he slowly approached the area. I didn¡¯t think someone would actually try fighting off a horde this deep in the forest. Evan was surprised because there really weren¡¯t that many people fighting off the horde of approximately 200 mushrooms with several hundred more burning on the ground, there were only 15 people fighting. Wait sixteen, a girl with red hair was being blocked from view by one of the fighters a few moments ago. The 2,500 strong mushroom horde was reduced to 200 in the time it took Evan to wake up and run towards the location of the horde. Maybe I can sit back and watch for this one? I won¡¯t be able to get a pearl with these people here and the mana I needed to get out of my system should have been enough after almost ten minutes of straight emitting. Before Evan even got comfortable however the beast that set off the horde jumped out from behind a tree as if angry that humans would dare intrude on its eating. The beast was a deer about six feet tall but with spikes all over like a porcupine. Its red eyes shining with murder. ¡°I¡¯ll take it on!¡±,yelled the girl while also instructing the others to,¡±finish off the rest of the mushrooms¡±If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Evan was amused by this act since the deer was at least twice as strong as the mushrooms. At least he was amused until the girl¡¯s sword caught fire. A magic knight? This might be an interesting fight. The girl started to do battle with the unbound monster. Even though the battle looked to be in the murder deer¡¯s favor Evan could see that the girl was giving the creature several cuts all over that were bleeding while sustaining no actual injuries aside from a couple cuts from the quills of the deer. She fights well, but it won¡¯t end the way she thinks. The deer still hasn¡¯t used anything other than kicks and head bashes. All those cuts are doing is enraging it more. Sure enough the deer was getting angrier and angrier. It snorted before stopping its assault looking as if it wanted to run away because of the injuries it sustained. The female fell for the trap it had laid as she rushed forward to kill it. The deer turned at a astonishing speed and then started shooting quills out of its back at high speeds. The girl realized to late before hurriedly blocking with her sword. She seemed to struggle a bit before regaining her ground as she adapted to the deer¡¯s new attacks. Evan was impressed by the adaptability of the girl. I think I¡¯ll help this interesting human. She deserves it for being able to fight a unbound monster one on one. Evan unslung his bow and pulled back the string. A arrow appeared notched on the bow. ¡°Fase Ern Pel¡±, he chanted. No mana gathered, but the arrow seemed to be sharper and was making a small whistling sound. Right as Evan shot the arrow he was hit by a huge headache causing his aim to shift slightly. Argh! What the hell. The headache was gone almost as quick as it had come. Evan started looking at where the arrow was headed. Dammit! The arrow flew, instead of heading at the deer¡¯s head was actually going to pierce the deer¡¯s neck. At least it would have been able to do such a thing if a certain red haired girl¡¯s head wasn¡¯t in the direct path of said arrow. Thankfully however the girl heard the slight whistling sound of the arrow and instinctively leaned her head to the side to dodge it. The arrow hit the deer and buried itself into its neck. The deer reared its head one last time before falling to the ground dead. Evan sighed with relief because he didn¡¯t want to kill such a interesting human and even if he did kill the girl on accident. There would be no repercussions cause no one would ever know who did it because of the arrow vanishing along with his cloak hiding him. Evan started to walk away from the party who had just finished killing off the rest of the mushroom monsters. And then a dagger came flying at him missing his cloak and imbedding itself into the tree next to him. Evan froze. They shouldn¡¯t be able to see me. Only high level dispel spells can see through my cloak. A female voice could be heard behind Evan. ¡°Who are you! Why did you shoot that arrow at me!?¡± Well time to make a disappearing act. Evan was just about to run for it at high speed when another headache hit him this one was even stronger than the last causing him to collapse from the pain. His hood caught on elbow as he clutched his head causing it to come off. He popped into the visible spectrum again. Well that had just the BEST timing gaia it hurts! It hurts! His sudden appearance startled and alerted the others in the party about his presence. Evan heard one of them walking towards him, but couldn¡¯t do anything to stop them. The pain was just too much. He felt one of them grab him by the arm and then lifted him up pulling both of Evan¡¯s hands behind his back. Then he was pushed in front of the girl with red hair now with several small cuts and damage on her skin and armor. ¡°Princess we have the assassin¡±,said the one who had Evan held captive. Oh great! It just had to be human royalty and I almost shot her! This is gonna be a problem. Tana POV This was suppose to be a rather easy accomplishment according to father! So much for that. Tana was having a good day up until now. She had prepared her equipment and set off after a week. Then took four days to reach the dungeon. Afterwards she easily cleared the first layer of the forest in two days and was progressing steadily across the second layer when she and her guards were swarmed by a monster horde. ¡°A monster horde occurred two weeks ago and another one just happened to form. Just my luck¡±,Tana muttered to herself darkly. ¡°Did you say something Princess¡±,asked one of the guards that father had assigned her. ¡°Nothing, nothing just get ready for a fight.¡± It was actually rather easy for Tana to clear away the mushroom horde with just a couple swings of her sword. Everything was going well, then the deer came. It was a beast with quills all across its body and a long horn on its head. Might have even looked cute if it wasn¡¯t give Tana the look as if she was gonna be stabbed to death. Tana immediately engaged the monster leaving the rest of her guards to finish off the mushrooms. She was then tricked by the deer and the minute after she got used to the murder deer¡¯s quill attack she instinctively sensed something behind her, so she tilted her head sideways and watched as a arrow impaled itself clean into the deer¡¯s neck. Tana instantly turned around looking for the archer that almost killed her. There was no one with a bow and arrow in her party though. All were warriors from the royal guard, not archers from the royal assassins. ¡°Arum¡±,Tana chanted causing the ring of the royal family to glow for a brief moment. She then scanned the area again to see a figure in a cloak that wasn¡¯t there before walking away. Tana instantly unsheathed the dagger she kept on her thigh and threw it. She was slightly off target because of the injuries she sustained, but it was enough to make the figure freeze. Tana then yelled,¡±Who are you! Why did you shoot that arrow at me!?¡± Tana was just about to despair because the figure looked like it was about to make a break for it before mysteriously collapsing and having its cloak hood slip off. Tana indicated to a guard to bring the figure over. As the guard walked over and picked up the figure she could see that her attacker was short with a childish face. The guard walked the child over to Tana. ¡°Princess we have the assassin¡±,said the guard. Tana was now close enough to see the assassin¡¯s face. It was a boy who had green hair and eyes with a cute face. She might have even tried giving him a sweet if the boy didn¡¯t just try killing her. ¡°You will answer my questions¡± ¡°Hear me out ok princess¡±,the boy said with maturity in his tone by childishness in his voice,¡±I was just killing the deer, my aim was just thrown off¡± That sounds like such a excuse. Who would even train such a child to kill? Tana naturally didn¡¯t believe a word of it. Instead she was thinking who would send an assassin after her. She had a couple suspicions. She then glanced back at the boy who seemed to have been muttering something under his breath. Not good! She jumped, knocking the guard off his feet before grabbing onto the boy. She felt herself become weightless before feeling her body hit the ground. After getting over the dizziness of being pulled from one place to another. Tana looked around herself seeing trees behind her and a river in front. She then turned to head to see the boy, who was lying on the ground motionless. Whats going on? She had assumed that the boy was planning on using a spell to self destruct after failing his mission to kill her. But then why? Why did he teleport instead? Tana decided that in order to find out who the boy was she would hide her presence and follow the boy. Let¡¯s see what you''re really up too. Chapter 6: Glade Of Peace Tana¡¯s POV Tana was watching from behind a tree, rather cliche, but she didn¡¯t have anywhere else to stay out of sight. The boy started to stir after a while. He opened his eyes and groaned clutching his head as if in pain. His adorable face was contorted in great discomfort. Tana wanted to come out of hiding and cuddle the child, but she had to stay hidden. The boy seems to recover somewhat and started wandering off in a direction. Tana slowly followed him staying far enough to not be noticed while staying close enough to see the boy. The boy continued on his trek, after two hours of continuous walking the boy seemed to stop. Then he vanished from view as a tree blocked Tana¡¯s sight. She didn¡¯t see the boy come back into view. Tana sensed something wrong so utilized her speed to rush towards the tree. What she saw was empty space. The boy had vanished. Awww great! He¡¯s gone and I¡¯m lost. Tana was about to despair when she heard shouts. ¡°Princess? Princess are you here?¡±,yelled a young male voice. Tana recognized the voice. It was one of the royal guards. ¡°I¡¯m here!¡±,she shouted. ¡°Princess!¡±,a royal guard in his late twenties yelled as he ran from a distance away. The guard reached Tana with a smile on his face as if relieved then said. ¡°I¡¯m glad you''re safe Princess. After you vanished with the assassin, we started sweeping the area to try to find you. Teleportation magic usually can¡¯t get to far so we tried our luck by spreading out.¡± ¡°What!?¡±,said Tana thoroughly confused,¡±but I wasn¡¯t nearby at all. I was following the assassin for almost two hours.¡± ¡°Two hours? But Princess from the time you were gone until the time I found you hasn¡¯t even been ten minutes!¡± ¡°Impossible!¡±.Tana replied. It was definitely two hours, unless¡ the boy used magic to make my perception of time speed up? No that can¡¯t be right. ¡°Princess I would suggest we get back to the other guards. Are we going to continue on into dungeon?¡± The guards words snapped Tana out of her thoughts and she thought for a moment before replying. ¡°Yes, we should head back. Also I¡¯m calling off the dungeon dive, I need to report this occurrence to father.¡± Tana and the guard started running. After five minutes they were in the clearing where they had their battle against the mushroom horde and murder deer. Surprisingly the deer was still dead on the ground while no mushroom bodies were in sight. The dungeon must have absorbed the corpses, but why not the deer¡¯s corpse then? Strange things are occurring here. I¡¯ll need to report all of this to father. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. ¡°We are heading back because of the circumstances. I need to report to father about this attack anyway.¡±,Tana ordered. ¡°Yes, Princess, and what of the assassin? DId you kill him?¡±,a guard asked. ¡°No¡±,replied Tana shaking her head,¡±he vanished.¡± ¡°Then we should place a bounty? We must bring that assassin to justice!¡± ¡°No!¡±,Tana said almost shouting. Everyone looked towards her in confusion. :I mean, no I will talk with my father and we will figure out a plan of action. For now let us head back.¡± ¡°Yes Princess, we obey!¡±,all the guards shouted in unison. Scaring off some birds that were in the nearby trees. The guards then turned and started the long trek out of the forest. Tana looked towards the tree that the boy vanished from. Boy I owe you for bringing me back here, but next time I will find you and get some answers when I do. Evan¡¯s POV So what happened to Evan after he vanished from behind the tree? He used teleport again which knocked him out for an even longer duration because of the teleport he had used earlier. Of course Evan wouldn¡¯t have needed to take such measures if the Princess wasn¡¯t following him. He had to take great pains to lead her back to where her guards were. After waking up from another round of teleportation, Evan started heading for the beginning layer of the forest. He then moved towards a specific tree and walked straight through it. Beyond the tree was a large glade with paintings everywhere along with a bed in the center of it all. With the sounds of birds singing and sweet smelling flowers growing throughout. The place would have felt like a garden of eden to anyone who entered it. See, living for over a hundred years would bore any individual. So aside from mastering weapons Evan has taken a great interest in art. He got so good in fact that his paintings started gaining beneficial effects such as increasing the regeneration of mana and calming the mind. Evan even began calling the place the Glade Of Peace because of its peaceful atmosphere and ability to ward off any monsters from interrupting the peace. Evan then walked towards the bed he had created. Even though Evan didn¡¯t really need sleep as a spirit of the dungeon he still liked the feeling of sleep. Before he could reach the bed however his foot bumped into a square object. It was a book. The hero¡¯s book to be exact. It was the thing that Mirana kept imitating so Evan stole it, hiding the story away in embarrassment. The book was a story about how a hero saved a princess from a curse and their antics as they traveled across the continent to vanquish the demon king. Really cliche stuff, but the story was popular with the kids, so of course it would be the gift to give to Mirana. Even though mother isn¡¯t a kid she still acts like one sometimes. I can¡¯t really blame that human for giving it to her. Heck, at least he made our lives more interesting. Pity that he''s gone. Evan smiled to himself a bit and picked up the book before continuing to walk towards the bed. He then fell onto the bed it''s fluffy mattress and soft blankets enveloping him before he sank into sleep. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Chibi here I decided to put a couple identified painting¡¯s stats on here! Chapter 7: Looming Problems And Solutions Tana¡¯s POV The moment Tana reached the palace again she completely ignored her fatigue and ran towards her father¡¯s office. ¡°Father!¡±,she yelled while forcibly breaking the door open. Tana¡¯s father was behind a large desk stacked with paper work. Or was stacked with paperwork. The papers all went flying along with pieces of the door. ¡°Oops¡± Tana¡¯s father sighed and asked while picking up the papers. ¡°What is it Tana? Why are you back so soon?¡± Tana immediately went from embarrassed to serious. ¡°I was almost killed in the dungeon?¡± ¡°What!? But that shouldn¡¯t have happened! What happened to the guards I sent with you?¡± ¡°We were overrun by a monster horde! That information you gave me was almost as useful as a toothpick against a dragon!¡± Tana usually wouldn¡¯t have such a large outburst, but just the thought of almost dying is enough to make anyone mad. ¡°Calm down!¡±,her father said in a commanding voice, a wave of cold was felt as Tana was being pressured by the presence that her father exposed. Tana took a deep breath and felt herself calm down from the chill. ¡°Ok¡±,the king said,¡±now what was this about a monster horde and bring almost killed?¡± ¡°Well, we reached the middle layer of the dungeon and then were rushed by a horde of mushrooms. If I wasn¡¯t able to use fire then we might have gone down, but the kicker to all of this is that we met a deer that was mutated. We were forced to split out focus between the remaining mushrooms while I was dealing with the deer. And then I was shot at by someone we can only assume is an assassin.¡± The king looked rather surprised at this. ¡°A assassin? In the middle layer of the forest? I wonder who would be able to train such a man.¡± ¡°It wasn¡¯t a man who attacked me father¡± ¡°Oh so was it a woman? They seem to be more dangerous to compensate for their inborn strength weakness.¡± ¡°It wasn¡¯t a woman either.¡± ¡°Oh? Then what was it? Don¡¯t tell me it was a child¡±,the king said with wrinkles forming on his face. He detested the use of children in unsavory business¡¯. He would have even abolished slavery if it wasn¡¯t for slavery being an integral part of the kingdom. Tana gave a nod of confirmation. ¡°Damn!¡±,he yelled while slamming his fist on the table, cracking it slightly while sending the papers he had just placed back on his desk to go flying again. ¡°I¡¯ll speed up my plans then. I¡¯ll cause change in this kingdom!¡±,he said angrily. ¡°Plans? What plans?¡±,Tana asked thoroughly confused. ¡°Tana. I haven¡¯t told you this yet. But. I¡¯m going to use the summoning circle to bring forth a hero that can change this kingdom. No. This world!¡±,the king said with determination in his eyes.Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. ¡°Hero?!¡±,Tana exclaimed,¡±But wasn¡¯t the last one we summoned a century ago? The circle shouldn¡¯t be able to operate for another thousand years.¡± ¡°Yes¡±,the king confirmed,¡±it was suppose to take another century to be useable, but I researched it extensively with some royal mages in my younger days. We discovered that the circle¡¯s composition was made from several rare ingredients that were actually obtainable in this world. So I started recharging the circle with these ingredients. We almost cleaned out the entire royal treasury of its rare materials. If you had managed to capture the Mother¡¯s Tree dungeon we could have used the sap from the mother tree to speed up the process even more. But, the time is close at hand so even a few days to weeks in difference isn¡¯t to much¡± ¡°So we are summoning the hero in a few days?¡±,Tana asked excitedly because ever since she was a child the stories of the hero always fascinated her. ¡°Yes, my child, we shall summon the hero to cleanse our kingdom.¡± ¡°But, what of the demons? Won¡¯t they try to get rid of the hero once they caught wind?¡± ¡°No¡±,the king said while shaking his head,¡±Both sides human and demon have called a truce. During the Battle of Retaliation where we managed to come back from a losing battle something sinister was released. Both sides have bigger problems to deal with then a old feud from our ancestors.¡± ¡°Feud?¡±,Tana asked, she hadn¡¯t known anything about a feud between the demons and humans. She had always thought that it was because of territorial disputes. ¡°Yes, feud, our kingdoms a few thousand years ago were once actually good friends. Then something even I don¡¯t know caused both sides to become hated enemies. The reason was lost in history, but scraps of history we managed to gather has been passed from king to king. Since you will succeed the throne, you my daughter, are eligible to know of this.¡± ¡°Thank you for trusting in me father¡±,Tana said while bowing her head slightly. ¡°This is your right. Now then I believe I have to redo a large amount of paperwork and then get ready for the hero. You may go now Tana¡± ¡°Yes¡± As Tana walked out of the room stepping over the smashed remains of the door. She started thinking about the thing she didn¡¯t tell her father. That the child after failing to assassinate her returned her to the point where she was teleported from. That the child may have not been an assassin. Future Hero¡¯s POV Den Marcs a sixteen year old boy, with wavy black hair and black eyes, was whistling as he walked down to the Virtual Reality Store. He was here to buy a new VR headset along with a game to play. Virtual reality or VR for short was a concept that had been on Earth for over eighty years before the technology was finally perfected. By the time the realism reached 80% almost every household had at least one headset. Now then back to Den. He was here for the newest version of the VR headset which promoted 100% realism with a brand new experience. He had reserved the headset months before and was excited to get it. Cost him a pretty penny, but to him the headset was going to be worth every penny. As he walked into the store he noticed a line that would probably take a bit of waiting. Good natured as he was along with his excitement for getting the new headset, he waited in line patiently. After about ten minutes of waiting it was finally his turn. He walked to the cashier and said. ¡°I¡¯m here for the VR-Full Dive. My name is Den Marcs¡± The cashier smiled and replied. ¡°Let me check the reservation list.¡± She pulled up a screen and started scrolling through a couple lists. ¡°VR-Full Dive¡ VR-Full Dive¡ here it is! Let''s see, yes, there is a Den Marcs on here. May I see some identification?¡±,the cashier asked while pulling out a sensor. ¡°Of course¡±,Den replied and flashed the watch on his hand across the sensor. The sensor beeped then lit up green. ¡°Thank you, Mr.Marcs let me get your reservation.¡± The cashier walked behind a curtain before returning with a box in her hands. Den grabbed it eagerly and almost hugged the cashier. ¡°Thank you so much!¡± ¡°It is no problem sir. Also this is the game that came with the reservation.¡± She handed Den a usb with the words written on its side, Fantasia Online. He took the usb and thanked the cashier again. Then walked outside whistling a even more cheerful tune. Once he reached home he greeted his mother and sister before going to the second floor where his room was located. He then opened the block to reveal a sleek black looking helmet that looked like a motorcycle helmet. He connected the usb into the slot on the helmet then yelled downstairs that he would be trying out a new game. After getting ready he lied down on bed before slipping the helmet over his head. The link was activated and he was floating in chamber with a rainbow of colors flashing. Then a screen came up.
Welcome to Fantasi¡. Error! Error! Error!
Den was surprised by the errors that popped up. What?! A game going along with 100% realism is bugged on the character creation screen? Then another box popped up.
Host has been detected: Host is being summoned to another world via hero summoning... Standby¡ Summoning Successful¡ Good Luck Hero! Do good things in this world.
Huh. Is this the game? Seems like a rather cliche storyline. Well might as well play it. Den felt his body slowly lifting as a white light enveloped his vision and then suddenly jerk downwards as gravity took effect. ¡°Owww¡±, he yelped while rubbing his head. What are the pain sensors set to anyway. Den looked around after the pain subsided. He was in a rather well maintained room made of stone bricks with a white chalk stone circle around him. Standing in front of him was a teenage girl with red hair who said. ¡°Welcome Hero to Fantasia!¡± Chapter 8: Quest Received Den¡¯s POV Den looked around at the red haired girl, then subconsciously raised his hand to grab onto hers. Then was pulled onto his feet. The girl started walking up the stairs that she was blocking from view earlier. Den followed after her. She¡¯s surprisingly strong. Must be a high leveled npc? Let''s see now I should be able to check my status. Ummm¡ Status. A blue screen popped up in front of Den.

Den looked at the screen in confusion. Which showed when the girl asked. ¡°Anything wrong Hero?¡± ¡°Oh. Nothing is wrong¡±,Den hastily replied back. He then looked back at his stats and started thinking. Are these suppose to be the stats of a normal player? I feel that these might be a little high. I guess I¡¯ll check my titles maybe they have something that might explain these abnormal stats. Den concentrated on each title one by one as three more blue screens popped up.

Den read the text boxes in surprise since the game somehow integrated real life into the game itself. Den closed all the boxes, looking up he finally realized that the girl was slowing down and stopped in front of a door. It was a wooden door with ornate carvings across it, two guards were standing next to the door as if guarding it. The girl looked towards one of the guards and asked. ¡°Is my father in?¡± The guard that was spoken to replied. ¡°Yes Princess, but he¡¯s currently dealing with a problem from the nobles so he will take a bit of time.¡± The guard then noticed Den behind Tana and asked. ¡°And who is this man? I don¡¯t recognize him¡± ¡°This man is a candidate for being my personal guard so I¡¯m taking him to see father for his review.¡± The guard looked surprised as he looked over Den again, then he nodded before saluting and stood with his body parallel to the door. Den listened to the conversation attentively and picked up some facts. So the girl is a princess. Then I will be meeting the king then, but why not say I¡¯m the hero? Don¡¯t these storylines usually work like this? Lets check the princess stats then. Den concentrated on the princess while thinking status. Another blue screen came up.
Name:Tana Kirvo Age:17 Occupation: Princess
Job: Paladin Title:Weapon Princess Flame Goddess¡¯ Chosen Level:101
Stats
Strength:138 Agility:164 Wisdom:93
Intelligence:88 Defence:137 Stamina:118
Den thought the stats were a bit low compared to the princess¡¯ level, but he just assumed it was because of his extra boosts from his titles. Maybe my stats will only grow by a point or so every time I level up. His thoughts were broken as the ornate door was slammed open as a fat man with way too much jewelry came storming out. Looks like whatever complaint he had wasn¡¯t taken seriously by the king? Well it''s none of my business anyhow. After the fat man turned the corner of the corridor the princess walked in so Den followed. The guards closed the door behind Den as he walked into a room as intricately decorated as the door. It was rather small for what he assumes would have been a throne room, since it only had enough space for maybe thirty people. Sitting on the throne was a man who looked around fifty with a gilded crown on his head. He had a tired look on his face as if he just finished dealing with a long line of idiots. ¡°Father¡±, the girl named Tana said while slightly bowing her head,¡±I¡¯ve brought the summoned hero.¡± The man¡¯s face broke into a smile as he looked over the form of Den. ¡°Welcome Hero.¡±,he said while smiling. ¡°Hello, your highness.¡±,Den replied back while bowing. It pays to be courteous to the npcs especially if they are royalty. The king nodded and then his expression turned serious. ¡°Now you may be wondering why I summoned you. Well the answer to that is two fold, one is that monsters are growing stronger and we need a hero to end their terror, the second reason is a rather personal request of mine.¡±,the king said while standing up before walking in front of Den and bowing,¡±please cleanse my nation of its problems.¡± Den was surprised at the king bowing to him since he would have thought a king wouldn¡¯t just bow to a person he just met. Then a small blue box appeared.
Quest Received:Save the Kingdom!
Den looked at the box as it expanded.
Quest: Save the Kingdom!
King Arthur Kirvo has requested that you save his kingdom from monsters and itself.
Rewards:Ability to return to previous world
Den¡¯s face slowly changed as the words from the quest box sunk in. He instantly said. ¡°Log out¡± Nothing happened. Den started panicking. ¡°Log out! Log out!¡± Another box popped up.
System will not allow player to log out until quest is done. System urges the player to clear the quest.
¡°Ummm? Excuse me? Hero? What are you saying?¡±,the king looked at Den in confusion since Den looked panicked and was breathing heavily. Den took several deep breaths before recomposing himself. So this is the infamous hero summoning? As much as I would like hit whichever god decided to summon me I guess that won¡¯t solve the problem. I just need to save a kingdom and I can go home. Den looked at the king and replied with determination. ¡°I accept this request.¡± Chapter 9: The Overly Helpful? System Den¡¯s POV Den was laying on a bed in a room given to him by the princess. He was currently digesting everything he learned. First of all the world was called Fantasia just like the title of the game that he was about to play. It was kind of ironic actually, he was brought into a world that he chose to join. To continue Den¡¯s train of thought he mentally went through the races which were pretty much generic for a fantasy setting. Elves lived about 400-1000 years depending on several factors within nature and were adept with nature magic at birth. Beastmen have a lifespan of 200-600 depending on type and have a harder time learning magic, but they have greater physical strength, regeneration, and a special transformation for certain types. Demons lived for double the lifespan of a human so about 160-200 years and had greater power over magic at birth. Humans lived 80-100 years, but levels will increase their lifespan which also applied to all races. They didn¡¯t have the strengths of the others at birth, but were a versatile race who could match the other three races in almost any field with enough training. Den was also informed that he was not going to kill a demon lord like a normal story. Rather he had to assist with the battle against the increasing amounts of monsters. And the second part of the quest dictated that he had to save the kingdom from itself. Which Den assumed to be ¡°change the entire kingdom with the power of a hero¡±. Also on top of all that the king wanted to hide his identity of being a hero, which Den could understand since although fame may help him with saving the kingdom, it caused more problems as nobles might try to get rid of him for trying to change the kingdom in any way. So he was now going to be a ¡°personal guard¡± to the princess to cover up his existence in the castle. Den grew rather tired, first he was transported to another world then was given a mission to basically save the world. Why couldn¡¯t it have been a normal kill the demon lord quest. At least I would have a clear objective. Den started closing his eyes trying to get to sleep when another blue box popped up. He hadn¡¯t seen one since the quest was accepted.
System is upgrading because of accepting main quest.
He opened his eyes again. No point in sleeping when another blue box of annoyance could show itself. It didn¡¯t take long, maybe about a minute or so before another blue box appeared.
System has upgraded. Player has received semi-sentient system. Adding in affinity upgrade to the system...
Den raised a eyebrow. A sentient system? I can see that this going badly. What does a affinity upgrade even do? Another box popped up.
Hello I am you semi-sentient system do you wish to give me a name?
Den looked at the newest box and created a name so original and so generic that it wasn¡¯t ¡°Name system: System¡±
System has been named: System
The screen continued on.
System is now equip with basic knowledge now inputting into player¡¯s head¡ Warning! Severe pain incoming...
Den started panicking. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. No wait not! He was cut off by a headache that would have been worthy of a god rampaged through his head. Information continually flowed into his brain until Den couldn¡¯t take it anymore and completely blacked out. It was morning by the time Den woke up and it was accompanied by a lovely message.
System has detected unusual amounts of pain in player. Recommended ways to remedy: Stop drinking.
STOP DRINKING?!? Who¡¯s fault do you think it was that I was in so much pain in the first place!
System has detected large amounts of rage and anger. Suggested cures: Large amounts of sexual intercourse, hitting wall continually, punching whoever made player angry.
FUCKING!!! The system was basically a machine designed by the gods to drive Den mad. If the monsters don¡¯t get me. The system will. Den thought to himself trying to calm down. Then gave up and started the suggested method. Continually punching a wall. Bits and pieces flew from the wall as Den¡¯s rage doubled his strength. ¡°Sir guard, the princess requires your¡¡± The maid who walked in stopped her sentence short when she saw the newly appointed personal guard to the princess continuously hitting a wall while looking like someone murdered his favorite pet. The maid hurriedly backed out of the room and ran towards the princess¡¯ chambers to inform her of the guard¡¯s madness. In less than a minute running footsteps could be heard as the princess swiftly reached the door of the hero. She ran in and looked confusedly at the hero who was still hitting the wall. The punches he made was drilling a hole into the wall. ¡°Stop! Stop! What are you doing!¡±,she cried while pulling the Den away from the wall. Den seemed to snap out of whatever rage he was in. He stopped struggling to get out of the princess¡¯ grip. After a couple more seconds to confirm Den was calm. Tana released his arms and started interrogating him. ¡°Why are you pounding on the wall?! Did it offend you in some way?!¡± ¡°No¡±,Den mumbled as he continued,¡±something just came over me¡± A look of pity seemed to go through Tana''s eyes. She could understand what the Hero¡¯s anger could have stemmed from. Seeing how he was brought to another world and suppose to accept it. Den was now calm and noticed that his strength had gone up by a point. Is this suppose to work this way? Another blue box popped up.
Answering Question: No, player is enhanced by system so stat gains such as this is normal.(Stat gains will get harder to achieve the more points there are in specified stat)
Well that answers that question. He then looked at the princess again. This time with a clear head. ¡°What is it that you needed from me? The maid was about to say something I think¡± Tana seemed to recompose herself and then started briefing Den on what is to come. ¡°Well we are going to establish you as a personal guard in training. With your status we can start working on reforming the nation. So you will be trained by the best the castle can offer. After a couple months of training we are planning on letting you tackle a dungeon to get some real battle experience. Den nodded thinking that this path as a hero being summoned was normal. He then moved away from his thoughts and noticed that the princess had a troubled look on her face. ¡°Is there something else that is bothering you Princess?¡±,Den asked. The princess looked at him seeming to make up her mind before starting to say. ¡°Well before you were summoned I was on a mission to clear a dungeon. We ran into some¡ shall we say difficulties and ended up having to turn back.¡± Den seemed to follow the conversation or at least he thought he did. Since this seemed like a pretty generic quest in a story. ¡°You lost something during the fight and you want me to retrieve it for you?¡±,he asked. ¡°No¡±,she replied,¡±one of our¡ difficulties was a child assassin or at least we assume it was a child assassin. I wish to find him, but the only lead I have is that he was in the Mother¡¯s Forest dungeon not long ago. Since you are the hero who will reform this empire I thought you might be able to help me track the child down. Can I ask this of you?¡± A blue box appeared.
Quest Recieved: Find the Mysterious Boy
Princess Tana was attacked by a mysterious boy in the Mother¡¯s Forest Dungeon and wishes to find the child once again. Find and deliver the boy to the Princess.

Do you accept?
Oh a quest! It even gives good rewards. A good relationship with the princess along with her assisting me on my mission would help greatly. Den reviewed the contents of the quest one more time before saying to the Princess. ¡°I accept this request of yours¡±
System has unlocked ??? for Special Benefits: Wiping memories and traces of player¡¯s existence as to better achieve mission. Will teleport player to the vicinity of the Mother¡¯s Tree dungeon. Proceeding with directives¡
Wait! Wait! My training! My common novel paths! Damn you system!!! Chapter 10: Complications Evan¡¯s POV ¡°Oi! Oi! Wake up!¡± A voice could be heard as Evan woke up. His headache wasn¡¯t any better, but with a voice screaming in his ear there really wasn¡¯t much he could do. ¡°Alright. Alright. Geez mother do you really have to wake my up!¡± There was a moment of silence before the voice was heard again, this time shouting. ¡°What in the world made you think I¡¯m your mother?! Do I look like a female to you!¡± Evan was truly awake now. Having severe headaches, but awake. He swiveled his head around finally realizing that he was in the glade of peace. No one should have been able to enter the glade since he used his mana to set up a shield to keep outsiders away. He turned his head to the other side of the bed and saw a man around the age of 25 wearing armor that shined like the sun with a sword sheathed on his belt. ¡°Hero!¡±,Evan yelled in surprise while jumping back grabbing a dagger out of the air as it materialized,¡±you''re suppose to be dead! Or at least older. Why do you still look like that!¡± The hero has a offended look on his face,¡±I am dead. And you don¡¯t like this look? It was when I sealed part of my soul into the book, I retained the form I had when I bound my soul to it.¡± Evan then took note of the book next to him. He had forgotten that he brought it with him to bed. The book had runes crisscrossing it and was glowing a small bit. Evan hadn¡¯t taken notice of it until just then the headaches messed with him a bit. He saw a small tether connecting the book with the lifelike image of the Hero. ¡°So what are you doing here then? Why did your soul finally show itself? Did your actual body die?¡±,Evan asked while letting go of the dagger. Letting it vanish into thin air. ¡°Let''s see where to start¡±,the hero tapped his chin while having a thinking expression plastered on his face,¡±Well I should begin from when I left the tree then. Let¡¯s see I left the tree after leaving part of myself behind. Then I went to fight the demon lord. Went down with him. Then I wake up now and have been watching you sleep from the past 3 days.¡± Evan nodded throughout the entire explanation. Then registered the words past 3 days.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. ¡°How long have I been out?¡± The hero shrugged his shoulders holding his hands up helplessly, ¡°I don¡¯t know. Remember I was brought back 3 days ago.¡± Evan looked towards his latest paint which was painted two months ago. He calculated the aging of the paint. Albeit it was difficult to concentrate on the paint when his head was throbbing he finally came to a conclusion. I¡¯ve been out for almost 3 weeks?! That should be impossible. It''s just a headache right? ¡°By the way¡±,the hero commented while staring at the painting that Evan has created a couple decades ago. The one named Beauty. ¡°What is with your mana? That doesn¡¯t seem to be Mirana¡¯s mana. Seems darker.¡± ¡°What?!¡±,Evan exclaimed while checking his mana source. It seemed normal to him. Same color as always. ¡°There¡¯s no problem with my mana what are you on about?¡± ¡°No problem?! A mana source that dark should have killed you already.¡± Evan thought the hero was just messing with him. His mana looked perfectly fine to him. ¡°You won¡¯t believe it without seeing it I guess¡± The hero raised his hand and waved. Evan felt a bit of mana leaving his body. When was the hero able to do that? Evan stared disbelieving at the little ball of green mana. Then watched as the green was slowly replaced with a inky black. ¡°What?!¡±,Evan exclaimed. Thats whats inside of me? What is that? The hero looked seriously at the mana. ¡°This mana was from Mirana¡ I can feel her aura in it¡ Why? Unless¡ no!¡± The hero¡¯s expression changed. He looked a bit frantic and started to shout at Evan. ¡°Has Mirana been absorbing anything foreign?!¡± Evan recoiled at the sudden yelling because of the headache he still had,¡±What? Mother absorbing something? Yeah, she''s been absorbing the monster crystals I¡¯ve been collecting. Why?¡± ¡°How many! How many has she absorbed?!¡±,the hero was yelling even more now almost in a panicked state. Evan was catching onto the hero¡¯s tone and realized something must be wrong,¡±She¡¯s absorbed at least a thousand. What¡¯s wrong with them?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t really understand it myself, but I remember the exact same aura coming from the demon lord. I think he called it the aura of corruption.¡± ¡°Yes before the demon lord died he said to not let the aura of corruption take the world. Funnily enough I died from the wounds inflicted a minute later.¡± The hero seemed to have calmed down enough to even make a joke. Albeit at his own expense. ¡°This aura of corruption. Can you remove it?¡± Evan was shivering at the thought of that black mana coursing through his veins. The hero looked like he was hesitating before finally saying. ¡°Are you sure? You will at least half your magic power, maybe even more depending on how much is in your system. The process will be painful and you will be weakened.¡± ¡°It¡¯s fine¡±,Evan replied,¡±No one can get into the glade anyway so I¡¯ll be able to recover. ¡°Alright then, prepare yourself¡± The hero raised both his hands and Evan felt all the strength flow out of him. He watched as mana enough to cover the entire glade flowed out of him. Then watched in horror as the mana turned black. The last image before he collapsed onto the bed again was the mana condensing into a single black pellet. Right before completely blacking out a giggling female voice could be heard. Teehee¡ I¡¯m finally free... Relax... I¡¯ll take control¡ Big brother... Chapter 11: Criminal Hero Den¡¯s POV ¡°Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!¡± Something could be seen falling from the sky. On closer inspection you could make out the figure of a person. Boom! The person landed on the ground creating a crater about ten feet in diameter and about two feet deep. The figure extricated itself from the newly created floor art. Then started to curse at thin air. The figure was of course Den. The reason he was cursing? It was the because of a certain box that made its appearance.
Teleportation Successful¡ Player has been teleported to entrance of City Of Gaia
Den was cursing with increased vehemence. ¡°Fuck. Shitty system. You trying to kill me!?¡± As if the system was listening another box appeared as if to mock him.
Negative¡ Falling from such a height is unable to kill player...
¡°Unab¡ Unable to kill me?! What did you do?! Drop me from a height where it would drop my health to 1?!¡±
Affirmative¡ Player will now go into a unconscious state to recover¡ Chance of dying while unconscious: 11.4%
¡°Wait a-¡± Den was about to start protesting, but it was at that time the system forced him to faint. Right before blacking out he thought. If I find the god who created this system I swear I will hit them. Be damned my soul I just want one good punch to the god¡¯s face. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ¡°Argh¡± Den stirred while groaning. He felt something odd. Like the inability to move his arms or legs freely. He tried straining his arms, all that came out from his efforts was a clinking sound. Den opened his eyes and looked around. First thing to notice. He was in a walled room with a leaky roof. The only light came from something above him that he couldn¡¯t see. Turning his head Den checked to see what was stopping his arm movements. It was manacles. Large metal cylinders that attached him to a wall. He checked his leg and found that they were tied up with metal chains. So I wake up to find myself locked to a wall in a empty and musty room. So two options are the most viable. One I¡¯m in a kinky sex dungeon or two I¡¯m in a jail cell. It was then that Den heard footsteps approaching. He focused back onto the door. With a clanking sound someone walked in. The light was too dim to make out the face, but from the figure he could tell it was a female figure. Ok¡ I wasn¡¯t being serious about the kinky sex dungeon, but I might have to rethink that.Love what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on. Den¡¯s mind was starting to wander and right at the moment he felt a pain in his stomach. The figure had kicked him. ¡°Owww¡± ¡°You''re lucky that¡¯s all you''re getting you bastard¡± The voice had a cold connotation to it. It was dripping with anger as if Den had just killed the one person she respected. Then as if forgetting the words she said earlier the girl raised her foot again and kicked him again, this time even harder. Den coughed out a mouthful of blood then looked up at the figure. ¡°Why?¡±,Den asked while having a pained look on his face. ¡°Why!? You ask why!? You murdered the one of the only nobles that actually treated commoners like people!¡± ¡°Murdered? What? I haven¡¯t even been awake long enough here to actually meet anyone let alone murder a noble!¡±,Den protested. ¡°Then how do you explain your clothes and dagger with the Earl Zeon¡¯s blood on it.¡± ¡°My clothes? Dagger?¡±, Den looked down at his body. Instead of the clothes that he wore from his original world he saw a one piece cloak like thing on himself,¡±What! These aren¡¯t my clothes!¡± ¡°Yes? And the dagger with blood isn¡¯t yours either?¡±,the girl said with a voice dripping with sarcasm. She isn¡¯t going to believe me. What to do. Could this actually get worse. Den was thinking this before hearing even more footsteps coming from the still open door. Another person walked in. The silhouette looked male. And it was confirmed when a gruff voice spoke some words that sent chills down Den¡¯s spine. ¡°We are going to execute this man for killing a noble.¡± ¡°What! No! I¡¯m innocent I tell you!¡± Den started struggling to get out of the chains. The man strided forward two steps before kneeling down a slugging Den in the chest. Den felt the air leaving him as he went limp. Dammit! I need to get out, but how? It was then when a blue box popped up.

Den debated quickly between the options then thought to himself. I¡¯m not taking my chances even if I become a criminal I can redeem myself as the hero someday. I choose option 1!
Player must speak the option they wish aloud.
Really? Ugh. Fine I¡¯ll be able to escape soon after anyway. ¡°I choose option one¡±,Den rasped while trying to take in more air into his lungs. ¡°What are you mumbling about!¡± The man kicked Den in the chest. Den felt the air he was getting back leaving his lungs again. The man raised his leg to kick Den again, but more footsteps were heard. Another figure ran in. Den¡¯s vision turned blurry from the consistent kicks couldn¡¯t focus on the figure, but it seemed to be whispering something to the silhouette of the man before running out of the room again. The man ran after him shortly after. He was now alone with the girl once more.
Choice 1 has been chosen teleporting player to new location.
Den felt himself float a bit before landing hard on his back. This time the system just teleported him to a new location. All around him were trees with thick foliage all around. A new box appeared.
Player has entered Mother¡¯s Tree Dungeon(Beginning Layer)
¡°Well not the best place to be, but anywhere is better than that jail cell¡±,Den said outloud. ¡°You would think that wouldn¡¯t you¡± Den froze. Not because of the voice, but rather because of the feeling of something sharp on the back of his neck. Oh no! The system didn¡¯t do what I think it did. ¡°Move forward to that tree in front of you¡±,the cold voice sounded again. Den complied while walking slowly towards the tree directly in front of him. Stopping only when he reached the trunk. He then felt something behind him, the thing shot at a inhuman speed instantly wrapping him up and making him hug the trunk of the tree. ¡°Flip him over¡± The thing which Den found to be a white ribbon seemed to obey the girl¡¯s command and changed his position from tree hugging to target dummy. The light streaming from the trees finally revealed the girl¡¯s face. She had black hair with obsidian black eyes which emanated hatred. Her lips showed her displeasure. Even with the anger however Den could see she was a beauty, but less on the girl¡¯s face, more on the dagger pointed at Den¡¯s chest which Den could feel several painful points on already. ¡°I might as well kill you right here. Trying to escape is enough grounds to execute you here and now. I¡¯m glad, I¡¯ll be able to kill you with my own hands. The person who dared kill the only one that ever cared about the common class.¡± And with a raised hand took a stab at Den¡¯s chest. Not A Chapter: Schedule Plans Chibi here! I know most don''t care. Chapter 12: Endurance, Vengence, And A Girls Tears Den¡¯s POV Den watched as the dagger came down. It stabbed into his chest and he felt it dig into his body. His blood started dripping out of the sides of the wound. Then the girl pulled the dagger out of Den¡¯s body and stabbed again. This continued onwards for another five stabs. All Den could think about now was pain. Argh! It hurts! It hurts! Let it end please! Den started screaming as he saw the dagger now coated with his blood go down again. As he felt the dagger enter his chest again a blue box appeared in front of him. From some small miracle he was able to read its contents.
Player is experiencing mortal injuries¡ Player¡¯s endurance is now unlocking new window in system¡ Player will unlock new window if player is able to withstand:3 More Mortal Injuries
Den¡¯s eyes looked at the box and thought to himself May this be a blessing from the system or just false hope I¡¯ll cling onto it! Just survive 3 more stabs! Endure! The dagger was pulled out of his body once more spurting blood. Then raised again stabbing into him once more.
Player will unlock new window if player is able to withstand:2 More Mortal Injuries
Den didn¡¯t scream this time. His face showed determination. The only thought on his mind was to endure. Two more stabs. Just two more stabs!
Player will unlock new window if player is able to withstand:1 More Mortal Injury
He barely felt the next stab. His vision however was being eaten away as if by little ants. They crawled across his vision. He felt sleepy. So sleepy.
Player is falling unconscious¡ Fainting will be interpreted as a sign of giving up...
Den could barely read the words as he felt himself fade. All he could take in was the words. Failure and giving up. Den jolted and felt his head hit the back of the tree he was tied too. He was still conscious. Still fighting and saw the dagger fall once more. Digging deep into his body he felt is twist, but something stopped him from feeling pain. His eyes were being washed of the ants that were eating away at the corners of his eyes. He felt alive!
Player has withstood 10 mortal injuries¡ System is now implementing the skills system in player¡ Error¡ Error¡ System is being intercepted¡ You have done well hero. This trial shall be the first.
The writing below the error seemed to be different from the system. It called Den hero. Not player. Before Den could think about this further another box appeared.
Player has unlocked the following skills: Will to survive and Blessing of the Goddess
The three skills seemed to ingrain themselves into Den¡¯s brain and Den seemed to understand what every skill was able to do.
Will To Survive
Effect: Enduring may allow player to survive even if mortally wounded Increase in all stats for a temporary time
Blessing Of The Goddess
Effect: Player is now blessed by the Goddess Gaia Affinity with all nature related creatures +10 Increase in intelligence and wisdom stats +10 to each Instantly healed to full health(One time use)(Status:Used)
Den started to laugh. He may have looked crazy with a knife still in his chest and his maniacal laughing, but he didn¡¯t care. He was alive! Then a voice was heard from in front of him. It was the girl who stabbed him standing there her face and armor splattered with blood looking at him in horror. ¡°Why? Why were you blessed by a goddess! Scum like you should have been smited by the gods!¡± Her face seemed to give up as she collapsed onto the earthen floor and started to cry. Her cold demeanor broken leaving only a young girl who had lost someone important to her. Girl¡¯s First Person POV I looked in horror at the young man in front of me. I had just stabbed him ten times and even twisted the dagger into his body just for good measure. Then the light came, but let me recap on what happened. It was a normal day at work. A noble came to complain about something or the other and three adventurers got into a brawl in the middle of the marketplace. This day just had to change. A relatively peaceful day changing with a single person¡¯s death. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. I had just finished my shift and dropped by the guard house. I stuck my head into a office like room and waved to the gruff looking man who was surrounded by paper work. ¡°I finished my shift chief!,"I said cheerfully. What I didn¡¯t know was the pain I would be in soon. ¡°Ah! Good work Alice. Any troubles?¡± I shook my head and smiled,¡±mostly just being mobbed by the kids when I walked through the slums area.¡± The guard chuckled,¡±You are popular, I believe that at least half the kids there have declared marriage already. You won¡¯t have trouble finding a husband¡± I blushed then walked out of the room. Why does Riley like to tease me so much. As I walked out of the guardhouse still a bit red faced I ran into another guard. I stumbled backwards before stabilizing. ¡°I¡¯m so sorry about that,"I said apologetically. The guard seemed to not mind being run into. ¡°It¡¯s fine.¡± It was then when I noticed the thing that changed this day in a horrible way. I wished I never asked in the first place. ¡°Who is that?¡± It was something that looked like a person that was slung over the guard¡¯s shoulder. I couldn¡¯t see it too well since it was covered with a cloak. The guard¡¯s face startled at the fact he was being questioned and then his face turned hard. ¡°I¡¯m sorry I can¡¯t reveal anything¡± I was confused since usually the guards didn¡¯t being in anyone that was confidential. So I started to tease the guard. His face flushed and then softened while leaning his head in. ¡°Fine,"he whispered,¡±I¡¯m not suppose to reveal this, but I suppose that it will come out sooner or later.¡± ¡°What? What''s going to come out?,"I whispered back. The guard¡¯s face seemed to turn sad as he said,¡±Earl Zeon was assassinated.¡± My heart dropped I could feel myself become cold. No no no! This can¡¯t be right! He can¡¯t be dead! Earl Zeon, a man that I respected for his treatment for everyone. He was a noble that acted noble. He was never snobbish and never took advantage of the common class. He was the one person that everyone in the city knew. He was the kind earl, a man worthy of being loved by almost everyone, except for other nobles who thought of him as a disgrace to the rank of earl. ¡°Then is that thing on your shoulder,"I said, my voice was unnaturally cold and detached. The guard sighed then nodded his head. That was all I needed to see. I turned and walked back to the office. Riley had a surprised look on his face when he saw me walk in again. ¡°What¡¯s wrong Alice?¡± I looked at him then began to speak,¡±He¡¯s dead isn¡¯t he?¡± A look of surprised flashed through Riley¡¯s eyes before vanishing just as quick. He seemed to process the words I said in a moment. Then took a deep breathe. His chest was heaving. Then confirmed my worst fear. ¡°Yes, Earl Zeon is dead¡± I felt my legs give out on me. I collapsed onto the floor and blacked out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I woke up confused on why my bed was so stiff. I sat up noticing that this wasn¡¯t my bed. It was the guardhouse infirmary. Then everything came tumbling back and I started to cry. He¡¯s really dead. I felt a hand patting my back. Looking up tears still in my eyes I saw the Riley. Then I don¡¯t know what came over me, but I hugged him. Crying loudly into his chest. After another five minutes of sobbing I stopped. Now all I could think of was getting revenge on the person who did it. ¡°Where is he,"I said my voice cold. Riley seemed to try to dodge the question,¡±Where is who?¡± ¡°You know who I¡¯m talking about. Where is he? Where is the killer!¡± Riley sighed then looked me dead in the eyes. ¡°Go home Alice. Take the week off¡± I was reluctant, revenge was still burning in my eyes, but couldn¡¯t find a reason to stay. So I stood up shakily and walked towards the infirmary entrance. Then as I was walking towards the guardhouse entrance I head Riley¡¯s voice sound again. ¡°Take care of yourself!¡± I kept walking. After turning the corner out of view of the guardhouse I stopped. I started waiting. As I saw people come and go I never took my eyes off the guardhouse. After about an hour of watching I walked back towards the guardhouse. Sneaking by the office area where I could see Riley doing more paperwork. I headed towards a certain door. The door leading to the cells. Walking down the stone steps, I entered a long corridor with light crystals embedded into the walls. I started checking each cell. Since today was a slow day there wasn¡¯t anyone in the cells, so I found the one I was looking for with relative ease. I unlocked the door with the cell keys that I had and walked in. What I saw was a young man with a ovalish face and black hair scattered across it chained to the wall and having his legs wrapped with several rune chains. He was squinting since I blocked the light from the corridor he could only see my profile. Although I could see him perfectly fine. What took over next was my anger. I raised my leg and kicked him in the gut. ¡°Owww,"the young man yelped. ¡°You''re lucky that¡¯s all you''re getting you bastard,"I said my voice was getting colder and colder. Then I decided that I didn¡¯t care, so I kicked him again even harder. He coughed up a mouthful of blood. The liquid flowing out of his mouth made me feel better. ¡°Why?,"the young man asked while having a pained look on his face. I felt fury take over. As I started shouting at him almost hysterically. ¡°Why!? You ask why!? You murdered the one of the only nobles that actually treated commoners like people!¡± The young man seemed confused,¡°Murdered? What? I haven¡¯t even been awake long enough here to actually meet anyone let alone murder a noble!¡± ¡°Then how do you explain your clothes and dagger with the Earl Zeon¡¯s blood on it.¡± I should have mentioned that I saw a dagger that Riley seemed to try to hide when I woke up, being not quite right in my mind I assumed that what he was hiding was the murder weapon. ¡°My clothes? Dagger?,"the young man looked down at his own cloak and started protesting,¡±What! These aren¡¯t my clothes!¡± He¡¯s a horrible actor. Does he think I would really fall for that act? ¡°Yes? And the dagger with blood isn¡¯t yours either?,"I said with a voice dripping with sarcasm. He seemed to be panicking and then I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I turned. It was Riley. He didn¡¯t seem surprised when he saw me in the cell and started speaking. ¡°We are going to execute this man for killing a noble.¡± I felt pleasure knowing that this monster was going to be executed, but also a bit saddened that I couldn¡¯t end his life personally. I turned again to see a panicked young man who was yelling,¡°What! No! I¡¯m innocent I tell you!¡± He started to struggle against the chains while yelling. Then he quieted down. After a second his lips started to move and it whispered something that I couldn¡¯t hear. ¡°What are you mumbling about!,"Riley said and strided forward kicking the young man in the chest. I could hear the air leaving the young man¡¯s lungs. Riley was about to kick again when another set of footsteps were heard behind us. Riley stood up quickly while retreating to the door. Another guard ran in. Then began to whisper quickly into Riley¡¯s ears, then ran off again. Riley followed the guard. I was alone with the young man again. I debated whether or not to go kick him again when I felt myself float. Then the world spun before grinding to a halt. I quickly assessed the surroundings. It was the outside with trees all around. She then saw the young man stand up and brush himself off before speaking aloud to himself. ¡°Well not the best place to be, but anywhere is better than that jail cell¡± How did he get out? Rune chains should have restricted any magic he could use. No¡ This might be my chance to kill him myself. ¡°You would think that wouldn¡¯t you,"I said while pointing the dagger that I kept on me against the young man¡¯s back,¡°Move forward to that tree in front of you.¡± I took out the second thing I had on me, it was a magic ribbon that would follow my mana¡¯s commands. Once he reached the trunk of the tree I instructed the ribbon to tie him to the tree. The ribbon jumped and started to wrap itself quickly around the tree. ¡°Flip him over," I instructed and watched the ribbon twist and turn as it switched the young man¡¯s view. I watched him and then said. ¡°I might as well kill you right here. Trying to escape is enough grounds to execute you here and now. I¡¯m glad, I¡¯ll be able to kill you with my own hands. The person who dared kill the only one that ever cared about the common class.¡± I then raised the dagger still in my hand and plunged it into the man¡¯s chest. I felt as it sunk into his body and I felt happy when I heard the man¡¯s screams. I stabbed him again and again. Counting each deep wound I made in him. 1...2...3...4...5...6¡7... Then something seemed to change as I stabbed him for the eighth time. I saw his face. He showed a determined face as if wanting to die with dignity. His screams had stopped. In anger I stabbed again. How dare he! He dare he! He slumped over and I saw that his breathe was getting weaker. This is it! I stabbed him for the tenth time and twisted it into his flesh just for good measure. Then the light came and the man started laughing maniacally, but what registered wasn¡¯t the laughing rather it was the light. A light that would only appear when blessing someone. No! No! No! How could this be! How could someone like him! I was horrified and angry. This man was blessed by a goddess! ¡°Why? Why were you blessed by a goddess! Scum like you should have been smited by the gods!¡± I shouted. Then felt my legs give out for the second time that day. All I could do now was cry. Side Story 1: Twin Champions Of Justice Riley First Person POV I looked at what I had just done. I killed a man. Well that wasn¡¯t all that shocking, killing came with the job after a while. I was in a lavish looking room. It was a office with everything in order. Why in order? He never saw it coming. I was looking at the corpse of Earl Zeon. His blood was flowing quickly out of his neck. The only look left on his face was surprise. This is for my wife and daughter you bastard. Count Zeon. A man who was loved by all, even me. At least, that was before I found out what happened. This monster of a man who kidnapped and killed commoners just for the heck of it. This bastard who took everything from me. I felt tears well up in my eyes. I avenged you Arianna, Catherine. I pulled out a round object from my pocket. It was the one thing that man left me. I wonder how he got such a object. I clenched my hand and felt the sphere crumple. The scene around me shifted and I was back in my office. Piles of papers in front of me. I went back to my chair and began working on some more documents. I¡¯ve been behind for a while now. Without glancing upwards I said. ¡°You can come in Leroy.¡± A guard walked in he was young with a handsome face that was marred by a scar. ¡°So how did it go?¡± he asked. ¡°Dead.¡± ¡°Good.¡± Leroy said with a happy tone in his voice. He was in the same predicament as me, his wife was brutally murdered and left in his house with bloody words written above her body. Welcome home. He was the only other one that was with me when I met him. I was the luckier one though. I got to end the sick bastard¡¯s life. ¡°We''re gonna need a scapegoat¡± I said. It would be nearly impossible to get away with murdering a noble, unless you could vanish like a phantom after the deed is done. ¡°I found someone a little while ago. It¡¯s a young man wearing strange clothes. I think we can use him¡± I felt a pang of guilt. We were using another to fulfil our goal. With a voice tinged with guilt I said the word. ¡°Use him¡± I could hear his footsteps leaving the room. I lowered my head and went back to the paperwork. Salaries. Guard reports. Monster sightings. Rubbing my forehead to relieve the stress I glanced at the door and noticed a hand and part of a head pop over the edge of the doorway. Then I heard the voice that reminded me so much about my daughter. ¡°I finished my shift chief!¡±, her voice as cheerful as always. It lifted my spirits. ¡°Ah! Good work Alice. Any troubles?¡±, I asked. ¡±Mostly just being mobbed by the kids when I walked through the slums area.¡± I could see her smiling face and a tinge of pain went through me. It was so similar to Catherine¡¯s smile, but I held it in. ¡±You are popular, I believe that at least half the kids there have declared marriage already. You won¡¯t have trouble finding a husband¡± I watched Alice blush a little before hurriedly turning and walking away. I smiled to myself. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Back to my work. I looked back down on the papers. This one was a report about the increase in monster sightings away from the dungeons. This was rather worrying. I read halfway through before I heard footsteps again. I would have never expected it would have been Alice. ¡°What¡¯s wrong Alice?¡±,I asked, her usually cheerful disposition seemed to be gone. In its place was just a cold and emotionless eyes. ¡±He¡¯s dead isn¡¯t he?¡±,I reacted to this, maybe a little too much since a look in Alice¡¯s eyes seemed to be confirming it. She will know sooner or later. Might as well do it now. ¡°Yes, Earl Zeon is dead¡± She seemed to lose some part of her soul as she fell to the ground. ¡°Alice? Alice!¡±,I yelled while jumping over the office desk, papers flew everywhere. I checked her pulse, still beating. I sighed in relief. Then I realized there was someone standing at the doorway. It was Leroy. On his shoulder was a black cloaked bundle and in his other hand was a bloody dagger. ¡°You told her?¡±,I asked with anger in my voice. ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡±,Leroy said apologetically,¡±She might as well know early on. After the shock is over she should be fine.¡± I looked at him and said,¡±Just go and put him in the cell¡± He nodded to me and then walked off. I picked up Alice by the knees and neck. Walking towards the infirmary. I¡¯ll fix up my office later. I decided to stay and accompany Alice. Least I could do after what I had done. Even if I knew the earl was a monster Alice didn¡¯t. She still held the same ideas of the kind and benevolent noble. I laid her out on the bed and then grabbed a chair. Sitting down I waited, staring at Alice¡¯s face, being reminded about the child I had lost. The wife that I had loved even now. Without realizing it a few hours had passed. I saw Alice begin to stir. I saw confusion in her eyes, then tears began to leak out. Almost on instinct I patted her, then she hugged me crying loudly into my chest. I felt a familiar warmth that I thought was lost. Trying to comfort my daughter.. No Alice. She continued crying for a couple more minutes. Then the tears tapered off. She pulled away eyes still red from crying, but underneath that redness was a frosty cold that seemed to freeze me for a second. ¡°Where is he¡±,she asked me. I didn¡¯t want to answer. It wasn¡¯t that person who killed the earl. It was me. ¡±Where is who?¡±, I said in an attempt to avoid the question. ¡°You know who I¡¯m talking about. Where is he? Where is the killer!¡±,she was almost screaming at this point. I felt a bloodthirsty aura being released. What caused me pain during that moment wasn¡¯t the aura, but the idea that I had made her like this. My actions. My revenge. I took this and took away a girl¡¯s happiness. Her joyful thoughts. I looked her in the eyes then calmly said. ¡°Go home Alice. Take the week off¡± I could see she was reluctant and her struggle to find an excuse to stay. Then I watched as she stood up and shakily walked from the room. I yelled out to her. ¡°Take care of yourself!¡± And I¡¯m sorry. I saw her pause for a single moment, before walking out of view. After a minute of just sitting there looking at the spot where she laid only seconds before. I stood up. I walked out of the infirmary making my way back to my office. I had papers to clean up. What I saw wasn¡¯t a messed up office with papers everywhere however. I saw a orderly room with papers stacks on my desk again. I guess Leroy cleaned this up. I walked towards my desk and sat back down, I began working on more documents. After another hour or so of working someone walked in. It was Leroy. ¡°The assassination is known to all the nobles. They demand the perpetrator¡¯s execution.¡± I nodded and then replied,¡±Alright. Let¡¯s see this through to the end.¡± Standing up I strided out the doorway and turned. I headed towards the doors leading down to the cells. Walking down the corridor I checked the cells one by one. Where did Leroy put him? I continued looked until my eyes landed on a cell door. Which was wide open. I walked in to see Alice, she had snuck back in and the prisoner. A boy with black hair the cloak and shadows hid the rest of his features. I just said the words that would end it all. ¡°We are going to execute this man for killing a noble.¡± I saw Alice showing a conflicted expression. Her intent to kill the kid was obvious. ¡°What! No! I¡¯m innocent I tell you!¡±,shouted the boy. He was panicking and struggling against the chains. Then suddenly went quiet. It was so sudden that I looked at him. He seemed to be mumbling something. Not taking any chances I strided forward while saying. ¡°What are you mumbling about!," I kicked him hard in the chest and hear the air leaving his lungs. I raised my foot again to make sure that he couldn¡¯t do anything for a short while when a set of footsteps was heard. I moved towards the door. It was Leroy who came running in. He whispered into my ear. ¡°Its him! That man! He wants to talk to us!¡± I forgot all about the boy behind me as I chased Leroy backup the stairs. We burst through the door and instead of the hallways leading to different rooms such as the infirmary or my office. Instead I was in a dark space. There was nothing here only me and Leroy. ¡°Whats going on!¡±,I yelled. ¡°Calm down¡±,said a voice. I turned and saw the man. The man who gave me the ability to take revenge. ¡°It¡¯s you.¡±, Leroy said almost to calmly. ¡°You know who this man is?¡±,I asked. ¡°Yes,¡±Leroy said,¡±This is Ceratais God Of Judgement.¡± When Leroy said the words a golden scale appeared in the man¡¯s hand, no, God¡¯s hand. There were two feathers on the scales. One on each side. One such a bright white that it could only be interpreted as holy and a black feather as dark as the void. The only way I could see it was the faint outline of its edges. ¡°As you said¡±,the man said with a grin on his face,¡±I am Ceratais God Of Judgement and I¡¯m here to congratulate you for passing my test. You will be my champions. One with a good heart that will kill for justice, but understand the pain of others. And one with a heart blackened by hatred. You both shall do nicely.¡± Then two lights shot from the scales. The holy light hit me while the dark one hit Leroy. Then two objects appeared in my hands. It was the orbs from before! The ones that allowed me to kill without a trace. I felt the background fade and heard a couple more words. ¡°Go my twin champions of justice. I expect great things from you.¡± Chapter 13: Little Tornado Of Death Den¡¯s POV Den stared at the girl awkwardly. Even though she just tried to murder him, Den was in a fine mood right now, since he was able to unlock a part of the system by being on the brink of death. So the happiness from getting skills overshadowed the murderous intent from the girl just a bit earlier. Actually Den was just watching the crying figure of the girl and had the urge to comfort her. Den made the motions to pat the crying girl on the back and remembered he was strapped to a tree and couldn¡¯t move his arms. Den struggled against the ribbons that tied him, and soon felt them loosening. After another couple seconds of struggle, the ribbons fell lifelessly onto the ground. With the ribbons no longer inhibiting his movements Den rubbed his numb legs trying to return feeling to them. Once he was able to move again Den stood up. He looked at the girl at his would be murderer. She had stopped crying. Actually she wasn¡¯t moving at all. Den cautiously moved closer to the huddled figure. Even when Den reached the girl¡¯s side she didn¡¯t react. Den crouched down and gently nudging the girl. She toppled over from the gentle tap and fell onto her side a exhausted look on her face. Even unconscious the face was beautiful. With full lips, high cheekbones, and black hair draping across part of her face, enhancing her beauty to the point of otherworldly. She¡¯s unconscious? A blue text box suddenly appeared before his eyes.

Alice White
Current conditions: Mana exhaustion
Mana exhaustion? What could have caused that? Den¡¯s eyebrows furrowed while he thought. Then a spark of revelation flashed through his eyes as he turned his head and looked at the ribbon laying lifelessly on the ground. Walked over and picked it up, hoping that the system would respond to his next command. Identify? Another blue box appeared, and the information within made everything crystal clear.
Ribbon Of The White Rabbit
A ribbon found by Alice White when she was a child. Mana can be infused to power the ribbon, causing the ribbon to follow the owner¡¯s commands. Continues to drain mana until user stops the flow or mana exhaustion occurs. When user is weaker than the target mana costs will exponentially increase. Unbreakable.
Den glanced back at Alice¡¯s sleeping form. Having used up all her mana and now she would be unconscious for a period of time. Den, being an adolescent, had his thoughts run wild. Den may have even attempted something if not for the rustling suddenly coming from a bush. Den cautiously looked at the shaking greenery. The rustled again before a white object flew out, landing softly on the ground.Unexpectedly it was a white rabbit with dark red eyes and a single horn atop its forehead. Den felt a string of information stream into his mind as the system help rewards from his side quest activated. So that¡¯s a horned rabbit? Seems harmless. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. At least those were Den¡¯s thoughts right up until the rabbit turned its head, its ears twitching. The rabbit glared at Den and started rapidly stomping its feet. Realizing that the bunny was about to charge, Den started backpedaling right as the creature lifted off from the ground and hurtled straight at him. Den barely managed to dodge the bunny torpedo as a scratch appeared on his cheek, the bunny rammed through the area where his head had been just moments before. The rabbit unable to change direction in midair kept going until it hit the tree. The damned thing had drilled through the entire tree with a single leap! What?! Horned rabbits shouldn¡¯t be able to do that! Identify! A blue box appeared, and Den groaned in exasperation when he read the contents.

Den cursed. Just my luck. The first monster I run into is a variant that can run through trees like a chainsaw. Den looked into the fluffy missile¡¯s eyes and saw that could be seen within the dark red eyes was pure bloodthirst. A chill ran down Den¡¯s spine and he dodged to the side not a moment too late. A breeze seemed to brush past his skin, then a drilling sound was heard. He glanced the bunny¡¯s newest victim, a tree. The tree had a hole about six inches in diameter, the gaping pit was cleanly gouged out with Den being able to see the other side as he retreated from the bunny again. The bunny glared at Den as if insulted that he had the gall to escape his inevitable death. The bunny of death started making strange squeaking noises and something green seemed to be pulled from the air and began gathering around it. Den gulped and had a look of disbelief as he stared at the rabbit. It isn¡¯t doing what I think it¡¯s doing, right? A level 12 rabbit can¡¯t cast magic, right? Right?! Den was about to run for his life before realizing that the girl, Alice, was still asleep on the ground. He hesitated for a moment before cursing under his breath and sprinted towards the unconscious body of Alice.Den noticed the air vibrating around the rabbit as he dived towards Alice¡¯s sleeping form, and quickly wrapped his body around Alice to shield her. The vibrating air shot towards Den with a vengeance, but the rabbit being a rabbit couldn¡¯t properly aim the spell and thus just fired it off in his general direction. The blades of wind grazed Den¡¯s back, causing several cuts to appear on it. Den gritted his teeth as he felt the wounds on his back start bleeding. The warm blood felt cold on his skin as he glared at the horned rabbit. The rabbit had started stomping its feet again, preparing another charge. Den looked frantically around for a weapon, any weapon. Then he remembered. Looking down at his hands he realized that the ribbon was still wrapped around his arm. His eyes then fell on the dagger, still wet with his blood lying a couple feet away from the vicious bunny. The death tornado launched itself towards him again, and Den pushed Alice to the side, using the momentum to the propel himself to the side and avoided its assault, going into a half crouched form. He clumsily dived for the dagger while thinking to himself. Going by its attack patterns, it should fire that drill shot thing again. As Den went for the weapon, he felt something go over his head. The bunny¡¯s drill shot hit the poor tree once more, gouging another hole in its trunk. Grabbing the dagger slick with his own blood, he turned to face the mightiest adversary he had faced as of now. Den glanced at the rabbit while positioning himself away from fainted form of Alice. The rabbit was stamping its feet rapidly again, it seemed to have run out of the ability to use spells. As the furry animal lunged at Den, he tried to recall the feeling he had felt when he survived the dagger strikes from earlier. Something inside of him seemed to leave and seep into the ribbon. He tried to convey his will, to bind the creature. The ribbon remained unresponsive, but a blue box popped up.
Player is not the ribbon¡¯s owner. Item is unuseable.
You could have told me this earlier! Den was a mess now. A tornado of death was hurtling towards him and the plan he had painstakingly created was crumbling apart. He decided to go to the unplanned plan B. The bunny missile charged towards him as he raised the dagger still in his hands. Den struck down aiming for the bunny¡¯s furry skull. The bunny collided with the weapon, and before Den could rejoice over this fact, the dagger shattered in his hands. The weapon¡¯s destruction however was able to deflected enough of the bunny¡¯s charge that it only took a bit of meat and skin from his shoulder. Den still recoiled from the impact and was sent flying backwards along the rabbit¡¯s charging path. Stunned and losing a large amount of blood. Den¡¯s vision started to fade as he was unable to get back up. As his consciousness slipped away he saw the blurry form of the rabbit standing atop his chest. Its horn making a vibrating noise. As if I can die like this! I can¡¯t! I won¡¯t! He struggled against the overpowering darkness for the second time today. A blue box appeared, slowing the tide of encroaching blackness.
Player has activated the skill Will To Live
Den reached out and gripped the bunny¡¯s neck. Surprised that its near death prey was still struggling it pause. For this moment of surprise the rabbit paid with its life. As the power of the chokehold got stronger and stronger the rabbit felt itself losing air. Realizing it was about to die, the rabbit made a squeaking noise with the last of its power and turned the mana around it into blades of winds, watching with the last bit of its life as the blades sunk into the human body from all sides. The battle was over. The rabbit had died. Chapter 14: Soul Sister Evan¡¯s POV: Evan opened his eyes and was startled as he wasn¡¯t greeted with a blue sky. Rather he was greeted with an endless expanse of black. Evan swiveled his head around checking all around. It was just black emptiness. Evan tried moving his limbs. The blackness seemed to slow his movements down as he watched his arms and legs move sluggishly. Where is this? Why am I here? Evan started making slow swimming motions and he was propelled forward in the endless space. As he swam forwards Evan noticed a little speck of white. Evan aimed for that speck as he swam. After who knows how long he finally reached the speck. It was a door, just a simple wooden door with light all around it. As Evan approached it the door opened bit by bit. When he finally reached the frame Evan reached out with a hand, grabbing onto the edge. He pulled himself into the doorframe. As he entered the frame, after pulling himself completely through Evan felt something pulling him and felt some force pulling him down. Evan landed flat onto the ground. As his eyes adjusted to the new environment a voice was heard. ¡°Teehee, glad you came¡± As Evan¡¯s eyes adjusted he saw the speaker. It was a girl around the same age as Evan¡¯s current form with long green hair like Evans. She had a oval face with a small button nose, her large evergreen and silver eyes were glittering with amusement as she watched Evan slowly sit up. Evan recognized that voice. It was the one who said something before he blacked out. ¡°Where is this?¡±,Evan asked. The girl didn¡¯t seem to be hostile and had a familiar aura that Evan couldn¡¯t put his finger on. ¡°This?¡±the girl said while gesturing at the room around her. It was just a empty space about 10 feet by 20 feet and it didn¡¯t seem to have a room. The only thing that was connected to the walls was the door that Evan came through,¡±Or did you mean that?¡±. She was now pointing at the door where Evan came from. ¡°Both,¡±Evan replied. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Teehee, this is your soul of course,¡±the girl giggled while saying this as if Evan should have known that this was his soul. ¡°My soul?¡±Evan questioned while raising a eyebrow in disbelief. ¡°Of course it¡¯s your soul¡± ¡°Impossible,¡±Evan said,¡±there¡¯s no possibility for my soul to be that dark. Something that black would have killed me already.¡± ¡°Teehee, then how do you explain the mana that was extracted from you right before being sent here,¡±the girl replied. Evan¡¯s eyebrows furrowed as he saw the logic in the girl¡¯s words. The amount of corrupted mana extracted from him by the hero should have absolutely killed him. Either that or the mana would have taken him over just like it did the demon lord. ¡°Then who are you?¡±,Evan asked,¡±And why are you in my soul?¡± The girl¡¯s cheeks puffed in anger, making her look innocent and cute. ¡°Hmph,¡±she said while turning her head to the side,¡±You don¡¯t even recognize your own sister.¡± ¡°Sister?¡±,Evan asked in confusion,¡±When did mother create you?¡± ¡°She created me the same time as you,¡±the girl said still showing the anger of a child. ¡°Same time as me?¡±,Evan said still confused. If she was created the same time as me then where is her body? ¡°She made me then forgot to create a body for me,¡±the girl said a bit irritated now,¡±so to compensate she created a contract that would switch our minds every fifty years.¡± Ahhh. That would be mother, bringing a soul into existence and then forgetting to get the other half. Evan then realized a discrepancy in the girl¡¯s words. ¡°Fifty years? But it''s been over one hundred years. Why did you never switch with me? Or at least speak to me?¡± ¡°Hmph¡±,she said while puffing her cheeks again,¡±You think I didn¡¯t try? Shortly after you started your fifty years, I took a nap. It lasted about three years, but you got quite busy. The crystals and meditation you were doing kept absorbing large amounts of blackened mana. So to keep it from taking over your entire soul I created this room. I wasn¡¯t able to switch since you just kept taking in more and more black mana and I had to fortify the walls of this place. But then when you had the hero extract your mana. I was finally able to take over control and as the contract dictates I¡¯ll be holding control of the body for one hundred years.¡± ¡°Then I¡¯ll be in here for one hundred years?¡±,Evan asked a bit glum. Not being able to use a body for one hundred years would do that to a person. ¡°Teehee, of course not,¡±the girl said giggling,¡±I don¡¯t have much combat experience.¡± ¡°So you can¡¯t fight?¡±,Evan questioned, relieved that he wouldn¡¯t be stuck in this white room for one hundred years. ¡°Teehee, you could put it that way.¡± She started walking to the door behind Evan which had turned from a black portal into a golden one. Right before entering the door she paused. ¡°Teehee, silly me,¡±She said while turning back around,¡±Mommy never gave me a name, can you give me one?¡± Evan pondered over this question, then chose a name. ¡°How about Evelon? Eve to shorten it.¡± Evelon seemed delighted at her new name. ¡°I¡¯ll use it¡± Then Evelon turned once more and hopped into the spinning gold portal.
